Speaker 1: What's up everyone, and welcome back to the Epstein Chronicles.
0:05
On today's episode, we're going to talk a little bit
0:08
more about the US Virgin Islands and the various lawsuits
0:12
that are making their way through the system as we speak.
0:16
And today's article from Inside Edition is pivoting away from
0:20
the JP Morgan conversation and focusing on the Deutsche Bank suit.
0:26
So let's get into this article from Inside Edition and
0:30
let's see what the author, Chris Spargo, has come up
0:34
with headline Jeffrey Epstein rape victim who got seven point
0:39
four million dollars after fifteen years of abuse gets trial
0:43
date in Deutsche Bank suit and once again the author
0:46
of this article is Chris Spargo. Details of the woman's
0:51
settlement as well as the document she had to sign
0:54
in order to receive that money, have been made public
0:57
due to her ongoing lawsuit against Deutsche Bank. The estate
1:01
of Jeffrey Epstein paid seven point four million dollars to
1:05
one of the pedophiles survivors, according to court documents obtained
1:09
by Inside Digital. Details of the women's settlement with Epstein's estate,
1:14
as well as the document she had to sign in
1:17
order to receive that money, have been made public due
1:20
to her ongoing lawsuit against Deutsche Bank. The woman identified
1:25
as Jane Doe Number one in court papers, claims in
1:28
her complaint that Deutsche Bank knowingly benefited from participating in
1:33
a sex trafficking venture, and I don't think there's any
1:36
doubt at this point that Epstein, in his behavior, was
1:39
one of the worst kept secrets within the financial sector.
1:43
Deutsche Bank, for their part, denies Jane Doe's allegations and
1:47
any wrongdoing. A trial date has now been set for September,
1:52
and we also know that in October there is the
1:55
trial date for JP Morgan, so we're going to have
1:58
consecutive months, it looks like anyway, with some new information
2:02
coming out from the start of these trials from two
2:07
thousand and three, when Doe was first introduced to Epstein
2:11
and threw her eventual separation from Epstein and his organization
2:15
fifteen years later, Epstein's and his co conspirators used extreme
2:19
measures of force, fraud, and coercion to cause Jane Doe
2:23
Number one to engage in commercial sex and to remain
2:27
obedient to the organization. Doe alleges in her one hundred
2:31
and sixty three page complaint. Having been conditioned that the
2:35
sexual abuse was normal, and knowing that everyone surrounding Epstein,
2:39
including accountants, lawyers, bankers, and other people, were aware of
2:44
the sex abuse, Jane Doe number one was coerced into
2:48
a cult like life controlled by Epstein and others, to
2:51
be sexually abused and sexually trafficked. And once again, if
2:55
you put the pieces together, I think it's relatively obvious
2:58
who Jane Doe number one might be here. And if
3:02
that is the case, and it is who I think
3:04
it is, I don't see how the banks are gonna
3:06
wiggle out of this one. And that's because of all
3:08
of the intimate knowledge this person would have of the
3:12
inner workings of Jeffrey Epstein's criminal enterprise. Now think about it.
3:16
You're purchased from your parents by Jean Luke Brunel as
3:20
the middleman. Then you're brought to America and sold to
3:23
Jeffrey Epstein, and then from there the grooming process begins,
3:28
and then from that it turns into the normalization process,
3:31
right like she says here, And when you have all
3:33
of society's heavy hitters hanging out down at Epstein's house
3:37
and nobody is saying that this shit is wrong, and
3:39
not only that, but also engaging in it with Epstein.
3:42
Some of these folks, what's a little fourteen year old
3:45
kid who has sold to Jeffrey Epstein supposed to think?
3:48
Of course, they're gonna think what they're doing is normal,
3:51
and that once again brings into focus just how dangerous
3:54
enabling somebody like Jeffrey Epstein is. The more these movers
3:58
and shakers validated Jeffrey Epstein's existence, the easier it was
4:02
for him to carry out his bullshit. It's pretty clear
4:05
what happened here. Finally, after being sexually abused, in trafficked
4:09
by Epstein for fifteen years, Doe says she made her
4:13
escape in twenty eighteen. She later alleges that in those
4:17
years under Epstein's control, the pedophile committed the following sexual offenses.
4:23
Sexual misconduct as Epstein engaged in sexual intercourse with Jane
4:28
Doe without her consent. Remember she was purchased fourteen years old.
4:32
Rape in the first degree as Epstein engaged in sexual
4:36
intercourse with Jane Doe by forcible compulsion, criminal sexual act
4:41
in the first degree as Epstein engaged in oral sexual
4:44
conduct with Jane Doe by forcible compulsion, forcible touching, as
4:50
Epstein intentionally and for no legitimate purpose, forcibly sexually touched
4:55
Jane Doe for the purpose of degrading or abusing her,
4:59
or for the per of gratifying his own sexual desire.
5:03
Sexual abuse in the third degree, as Epstein inserted a
5:07
foreign object in the vagina of Jane Doe by forcible compulsion.
5:12
Aggravated sexual assault in the first degree, as Epstein inserted
5:16
a foreign object in Jane Doe's vagina, causing physical injury
5:20
by forcible compulsion. And all of this, remember, was happening
5:25
while she was basically a slave of Epstein. And when
5:29
we say that about this person, we mean it. When
5:33
you're bought by somebody at fourteen years old and brought
5:36
to a different country and put into this environment where
5:40
all of this bullshit is normalized, what else should we
5:42
call you? In the documents, Doe does not say how
5:46
old she was when she met Epstein, nor does she
5:49
explain how she made her escape. She sought a settlement
5:52
from the victim's Compensation fund after Epstein's death. Well, that
5:56
sounds like a no brainer. If she was abused from
5:59
the time she was fourteen years old and purchased by
6:02
this sig bastard in his pal Jean Luke Brunel. I
6:05
would think that whatever money she got is probably not enough.
6:10
Geordana Feldman, the administrator of the fund, said in an
6:13
August twenty twenty one press release that the fund paid
6:17
one hundred and twenty one million dollars to more than
6:20
one hundred and thirty five victims a little more than
6:23
one million dollars per Meanwhile, the government got the lion's
6:27
share of all of this with taxes. It had previously
6:31
been revealed in court during the federal trial of Glene
6:34
Maxwell that one victim received one point five million dollars
6:38
from the fund, and a second witness testifying against Epstein's
6:42
British born enabler, received a five million dollars settlement. In
6:46
exchange for their settlements, the victims were required to sign
6:50
a five page document. Inside Edition Digital obtained that document,
6:55
which states that, in consideration of the settlement amount, the
6:59
individual releases and forever discharges any current and former principles officers, directors, stockholders, managers, members, partners,
7:10
limited partners, trustees, beneficiaries, administrators, agents, employees, attorneys, predecessors, successors,
7:19
assigns and affiliates, and any entities or individuals who are,
7:24
have or ever been engaged by, whether as independent contractors
7:29
or otherwise employed by, or worked in any capacity for,
7:33
Jeffrey E. Epstein and or the Epstein estate, from any
7:38
and all claims, demands, actions, causes of actions, suits, debts, dues,
7:43
sums of money, accounts, variances, trespasses, damages, and judgments, whether
7:50
sounding and equity, tort, common law, contract, statute, regulation, or otherwise,
7:56
and whether now existing hereafter existing or revived in the future,
8:01
whatsoever in law, admiralty, equity, or otherwise, including without limitation,
8:07
any and all claims or causes of action that arise
8:11
or may arise from, or which otherwise concern acts of
8:15
sexual abuse or sex trafficked by mister Epstein. Once signed,
8:19
the full settlement amount would be wired to the claimant
8:22
within fifteen days. So basically, take your few pennies and
8:26
shut up the whole. Entire settlement fund turned out to
8:30
be not so great of an idea in my opinion. Now,
8:33
of course, people getting made whole and getting taken care
8:37
of as far as financially, for the abuse they suffered
8:41
is something that should have been done a long time ago,
8:44
but with hindsight as our guide, it certainly looks like
8:47
this fund was set up with the hope that after
8:50
these payments were paid out, that all of this would
8:53
go away. And like usual, their hope was meaning people
8:57
like Epstein and the people that were participate petting in
9:00
Epstein's criminal enterprise and enabling it. They figured, throw a
9:04
few dollars at this and it's all going to go away,
9:07
because that's what history tells us. Rich people can throw
9:10
money out a problem and it goes away. And that's
9:13
been the favorite strategy for anybody involved with Jeffrey Epstein
9:17
and Jeffrey Epstein himself, and we saw it with this fund.
9:21
That's what it was. The estate knew. The estate knew
9:24
that they were in jeopardy, they were exposed, so setting
9:27
the fund up was a good idea for them. And
9:30
once again, just to reiterate, how is it okay that
9:33
the government got the lion's share of that money? Deutsche
9:37
Bank unsuccessfully tried to use this settlement agreement to dismiss
9:41
the case against them in court. Plaintiff's claims are released
9:45
by the April twenty eighth, twenty twenty two general Release
9:49
end settlement agreement that plaintiff entered into with the Epstein Estate,
9:53
which contains a broad release of any and all sex claims,
9:57
including those related to acts of sexual abuse or sex
10:00
trafficking by Epstein, against not only Epstein and his a State,
10:05
but also against a wide array of other individuals and entities,
10:09
including any entity that was ever engaged by or worked
10:13
in any capacity for Epstein. Deutsche Bank writes as an
10:17
affirmative defense in their response to Doe's complaint. In exchange
10:21
for giving that broad release, plaintiff received a substantial settlement
10:25
payment from the Epstein estate. So, in other words, if
10:29
you want to be cynical about it, the whole entire
10:31
settlement fund was set up to protect Jeffrey Epstein's buddies,
10:35
to protect people like this. The judge ultimately agreed to
10:40
dismiss eight of the twelve counts, but four of the
10:42
claims asserted by Doe are still part of the case.
10:46
The claim that the defendants knowingly benefited from participating in
10:50
a sex trafficking venture. The claim that the defendant obstructed
10:54
enforcement of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act. The claim that
10:58
the defendants negligently failed to exercise reasonable care to prevent
11:02
physical harm the claim that the defendants negligently failed to
11:07
exercise reasonable care as a banking institution providing non routine banking.
11:13
The judge also weighed in on how much legal protection
11:16
in the settlement agreement signed by Doe affords Deutsche Bank.
11:21
Deutsche Bank also argues that the settlement agreement was intended
11:25
to resolve a broad class of claims potentially asserted by
11:29
dB Jane Doe, including claims against Deutsche Bank. Judge Jed
11:34
ray Koff wrote in his opinion allowing the case to
11:37
proceed in trial in September, but this argument is sheer
11:41
speculation at best, and hardly sufficient to meet the high
11:45
standard of evidence third party beneficiary status. Among the counts
11:50
dismissed by the court were intentional infliction of emotional distress,
11:56
participating in a sex trafficking venture, reco violation and aiding
12:01
a betting, and an inducing a sex trafficking venture. So
12:04
of course they dropped the rico right. We can't have
12:06
rico in this case at all, not even a cent
12:09
of it, not even one little whiff of rico. But
12:12
Rico's good enough for Keith Rayniery. Rico's good enough for R. Kelly,
12:17
but not Jeffrey Epstein. What is the difference between Jeffrey Epstein, R.
12:22
Kelly and Keith Rayniery. They're all rich, right, they all
12:25
have a bunch of dough. But the one thing that
12:28
Epstein has that the other two knuckleheads couldn't even dream
12:31
of is political power, political connections, and of course protection.
12:37
So it really shouldn't be a shock that we've never
12:39
seen a real Rico case or Rico statutes used when
12:43
it comes to Epstein, but we see it used with
12:45
everybody else. In twenty twenty, Deutsche Bank, is part of
12:49
their settlement agreement, agreed to pay one hundred and fifty
12:52
million dollars fine for its dealings with Epstein between twenty
12:56
thirteen and twenty eighteen, after an investigation by the New
13:00
New York Department of Financial Services alleged that bankers overlooked
13:04
multiple red flags about the pedophiles Pasted and failed to
13:08
properly monitor how his funds were being distributed. A regulator
13:13
claimed that very few problematic transactions were ever questioned, and
13:18
even when they were, they were usually cleared without satisfactory explanation.
13:23
In that twenty twenty report, which was obtained by Inside
13:27
edition Digital. Deutsche Bank did not respond to Inside Digital's
13:31
request for comment about the allegations made by Jane Doe
13:35
in court filings. Well, we all know that Deutsche Bank
13:39
is the preferred destination for scumbags worldwide. So is it
13:43
a shock that they were balling out with Jeffrey Epstein
13:46
Profident Megan a bunch of dough, all the while piggybacking
13:49
on Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking enterprise. I mean, it's not
13:53
a shock to me. You know what would be a
13:55
shock to me if these financial institutions didn't have these
13:59
kinds of allegations against them, because they're filled with absolute scumbags,
14:03
and the people at the very top when we're talking
14:06
about these financial institutions, they don't care about anybody. You
14:10
really think they care about you? Or are you feeding
14:13
your family? Or are you paying your bills? They don't
14:15
give one single shit, and they continue with their behavior
14:19
time and time again because there's never ever any real repercussions.
14:24
It's always some kind of financial fine, a slap on
14:27
the wrist, and the same old story gets told over
14:30
and over again and we're gonna see the same thing here.
14:33
Nobody's gonna get in trouble as far as legally, nobody's
14:36
gonna do prison time. Oh, we'll get some apologies and
14:40
we'll hear about how they're gonna fix their internal workings
14:43
and make sure this never happens again. But the reality
14:46
is inside of the financial sector right now as we speak,
14:50
many many people as scummy or scummier than Jeffrey Epstein
14:55
are up to the very same things that Jeffrey Epstein
14:58
was up to, And these financial institutions are right on
15:02
board once again, going along for the ride. All right, folks,
15:06
that's gonna do it for this one. All of the
15:08
information that goes with the episode can be found in
15:11
the description box. What's up, everyone, and welcome back to
15:15
the Epstein Chronicles. As we continue to watch the lawsuit
15:21
down in the US Virgin Islands make its way through
15:23
the court, I think it's important to remember that the
15:27
US Virgin Islands itself played a part in helping Jeffrey
15:31
Epstein maintain his criminal enterprise. And not only that, but
15:36
he was given all kinds of advantages down in the
15:39
US Virgin Islands as far as taxes and other business
15:44
type of arrangements go. Meanwhile, the US Virgin Islands is
15:48
over here yelling and screaming that everybody else is complicit,
15:52
while they are the arbiters of justice and the only
15:56
ones who really care about making sure people are held
15:59
a responsible. But is that really the case? Is the
16:03
US Virgin Islands really in this for justice or are
16:07
they just in it to make some more money. Today's episode,
16:12
we're going to go back to A New York Times
16:14
article that was originally posted in February of twenty twenty,
16:19
headlined Jeffrey Epstein's mystery bank came alive after his death,
16:24
receiving millions of dollars from his estate. This article was
16:28
authored by Matthew Goldstein and Steve Eeder. In the years
16:34
after Jeffrey Epstein registered as a sex offender, he closed
16:37
his money management firm and started a business to develop
16:41
algorithms and mind DNA and financial databases. Then he set
16:46
up a bank. In a banking license application reviewed by
16:50
The New York Times, Epstein described himself as one of
16:54
the investing world's pioneers and said he wanted to pursue
16:58
the dynamic discipline of international banking. One of the pioneers. Huh,
17:03
the pioneers of degeneracy, the pioneers of diddling children. Is
17:07
that what you mean? Egg dick? Officials in the Virgin Islands,
17:12
the US territory where Epstein set up most of his businesses,
17:16
approved the license for him in twenty fourteen to run
17:19
one of the territories first international banking entities, a specialized
17:24
bank that can do business only with offshore clients. The
17:28
approval was unusual given Epstein's status as a convicted sex offender.
17:33
Well not really. When you pull the layers back and
17:36
you start looking at the people who were involved, you
17:39
add all of the powerful people that were working with Epstein,
17:43
the Bryants, the dejongs, and they were all benefiting from
17:47
his patronage, and then all of a sudden, he's able
17:50
to set up the first bank of its kind within
17:53
the territory of the US Virgin Island and nobody has
17:56
any other questions for the territory year. Nobody going to
18:00
ask them what their role was. It was up to
18:03
JP Morgan to do that. Where's the legacy media? The bank,
18:07
called Southern Country International, renewed its license for each of
18:11
the next five years. But it's unclear whether it conducted
18:14
any business or had any customers. Epstein, who died while
18:19
in federal custody last summer following his arrest on sex
18:22
trafficking charges, does not appear to have done any marketing
18:26
for the bank or hired much staff. You want to
18:29
talk about a wash shop, a place to go and
18:32
wash money, you're looking at it. And when you look
18:35
at Epstein for what he really is, besides a diddler,
18:38
besides a molester, he's a money mover. He's a man
18:42
who knows how to hide money. He's a man who
18:44
knows how to wash money. And he's a man who
18:46
knows how to make sure that the government has no
18:49
idea where you're parking it, so you don't have to
18:52
be a brainiact to figure out what he needed his
18:54
own bank for. The bank was created under a territorial
18:59
law that many of the oversight requirements banks are usually
19:03
subject to, and its regulatory file is largely empty. A
19:08
lawyer for Epstein told officials in the US Virgin Islands
19:11
in twenty eighteen that the southern country had not commenced operations,
19:17
and regulators in the territory said they did not exercise
19:20
oversight of the bank because it did not appear to
19:23
be doing any business. Why did you guys set it
19:26
up in the first place. The US Virgin Islands still
19:29
has not answered that question, but yet they get one
19:32
hundred and five million dollars. And I hate to keep
19:35
beating on that dead horse, but I think it's very
19:37
important that we all understand just how ridiculous that move is.
19:42
They're legit taking food off the table of girls who
19:45
were actually abused by Jeffrey Epstein. And for what purpose?
19:49
What are they going to do help out the next
19:52
scumbag that comes to the island and starts throwing money around.
19:56
And yet, after Epstein's death, his estate transferred more than
20:00
twelve million dollars to Southern Country, according to court documents.
20:04
On Tuesday, out of court hearing in the Virgin Islands
20:07
on motions involving Epstein's estate, a magistrate Judge Carolyn Herman
20:13
Purcell questioned the estate's lawyers about the transfers to Southern Country,
20:18
saying the disclosure was not satisfactory. The judge said she
20:22
did not know why Southern Country would be receiving checks
20:25
from the estate. There's no explanation for that, she said,
20:29
of course there is. You know what it was, money washing,
20:33
will send it here, then we'll bounce it there, then
20:36
it'll go everywhere. And even though the government might know
20:39
what happened, they're not going to be able to prove it.
20:42
And this is the cycle that Epstein was caught in
20:45
for how long the way he moved money should have
20:48
raised so many red flags to so many people who
20:51
should have been watching that All of those people, in
20:54
my opinion, are culpable. The sad part is most of
20:58
them who were at the levers of power have moved
21:00
on to other institutions, other entities, and they've never had
21:04
to answer for the bullshit they were involved in when
21:07
it comes to Jeffrey Epstein. Now we're starting to see
21:10
a little bit of that change with the JP Morgan lawsuit,
21:13
But really, I've had my fill of financial settlements. I
21:17
think it's time for some real justice, and I think
21:20
it's time that some of these scumbags ended up in bracelets.
21:23
A lawyer for the estate responded that some of the
21:26
payment was made in error, but the judge was not
21:29
satisfied with the response and asked them to follow up
21:32
with a fuller accounting. Now the real question should be
21:35
from the judge. Why the hell did my colleagues even
21:38
let this bank get set up in the first place?
21:40
Who benefited? Follow the money? How many payments were made
21:44
out when this bank popped up? How many people cashed
21:48
big checks from Epstein? Well, we know a lot of
21:51
people down in the Virgin Islands were eating from Epstein's pomp.
21:55
They were taking things from them, gifts and all sorts
21:58
of other stuff. So many of them had money sent
22:02
to their accounts in the wake of this bank opening.
22:05
Because we all know if you follow the money, eventually
22:09
you're gonna end up in some dirty ass politician's office.
22:13
The checks listed in the estate's transactions for routine payments
22:17
such as cable TV bills and phone service for Epstein's
22:20
many properties stand out. The list of payments was filed
22:24
with Herman Purcell, who was overseeing the six hundred and
22:27
thirty five million dollar estate, including the possible establishment of
22:31
a compensation fund for his victims. Now we know that
22:34
that happens, and we know that the compensation fund paid
22:37
out roughly one hundred and twenty five million dollars to
22:40
the survivor's and one hundred and five million dollars to
22:44
the US Virgin Islands, and you would think that would
22:47
be enough and their greed would stop there, but it's not.
22:50
They have to have their hand in the cookie jar
22:52
a little longer and they have to try and get
22:55
some more money. Here. Well, they're running into a buzzsaw,
22:58
and that buz saw is JP Morgan, because JP Morgan
23:01
is not going to just write a check to the
23:03
US Virgin Islands when they know that the US Virgin
23:06
Islands was complicit and duplicitous when it comes to their
23:11
relationship with Epstein. That Epstein was able to get a
23:15
banking license in the first place is unusual. His two
23:19
thousand and eight conviction in Florida on a charge of
23:21
soliciting prostitution from an underage girl required him to register
23:25
as a sex offender. Most bank operators doing business in
23:29
the United States are required to undergo rigorous background checks,
23:33
and most banking institutions are subject to oversight by the
23:38
arm of the Treasury that investigates suspicious financial transactions. It's
23:42
called the Finsen Division. Neither was required by the Virgin
23:46
Islands when Epstein submitted the application in twenty thirteen, So
23:51
who makes the rules down there in the US Virgin Islands. Oh,
23:53
that's right, the government of the US Virgin Islands, and
23:57
they were the ones who put these laws on the
23:59
books to make so that Epstein could set up this
24:01
bank so that they could profit. And that's what the
24:04
evidence shows us. The territory had passed its international Banking
24:09
Entity law a year earlier in hopes of enticing investment
24:13
from overseas. It modeled its law on that of Puerto Rico,
24:17
where international banking entities have existed for three decades. Such
24:22
organizations are attractive to offshore investors because the banks are
24:26
able to offer more favorable tax treatment than the investors
24:29
own countries can. In return, the territories expect local residents
24:34
to manage the banks even though they cannot use its services,
24:38
and under normal circumstances, if you're using these banks for
24:42
the right purposes, there's no issue here. But we know
24:45
Epstein wasn't everything this man touched, he corrupted. These specialized
24:50
banks have drawn scrutiny because of their potential for abuse,
24:53
including money laundering. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York
24:57
describes international bank entities in the Virgin Islands and Puerto
25:01
Rico as high risk institutions. Last year, it temporarily suspended
25:07
applications for them to obtain financial services from the FED
25:11
until it can issue stricter rules for them. And keep
25:14
in mind, Epstein could have chosen to go anywhere in
25:16
the world. He chose to go to the US Virgin
25:19
Islands and set up shop because the rules were favorable
25:22
to him, and the rules that weren't favorable to him, well,
25:25
he had enough money to pay people off to get
25:28
those rules changed. Epstein was carefully evasive in answering a
25:32
question on the application that was meant to reveal information
25:36
about an applicant's criminal record. His response mentioned as guilty
25:40
plead to state charges in Florida, but played down other
25:43
elements of the case. Why was he allowed to play
25:46
it down? Let's not let the Virgin Islands off here. Sure,
25:50
he's gonna try and play it down, but it's up
25:52
to the regulators and the people in the Virgin Islands
25:55
who were in these positions of power to stop this
25:58
man from doing his bullshit. They did not. They failed.
26:02
There's no other explanation for it. They failed, and in
26:05
doing so, they helped Ebstein continue his criminal enterprise. For
26:09
decades for a relatively brief period in what has otherwise
26:14
been a productive and accomplished life. The application said Epstein
26:18
did face some legal difficulties relating to matters alleged to
26:22
have taken place seven years ago. The application noted that
26:25
a federal investigation had been discontinued, and that's why it
26:29
was so important for him to get rid of those
26:31
federal charges. Back in the day. He had to be
26:35
able to continue to operate on this level, and he
26:39
could smooth over the state charges. But if it was federal,
26:42
and we're talking about the Man Act, or we're talking
26:44
about human trafficking at the federal level, he would have
26:48
been toast and there's no way that he could have
26:51
operated the way he did. So once again, he was
26:54
being enabled, and this time by the broken ass legal
26:58
system here in the United States. People like Epstein continuously manipulate.
27:03
But the answer was misleading, said Richard Scott Carnal, a
27:07
former Assistant Secretary for Financial Institutions at the Treasury Department.
27:12
The application did not reflect that Epstein's plea deal included
27:16
an agreement with federal prosecutors who promised not to bring
27:20
their own charges. The agreement acknowledged that federal authorities had
27:24
compiled a long list of other possible underage victims. Think
27:29
about that they had all of these victims, a whole
27:33
list of them, amount of evidence, and there were all children,
27:36
and they decided not to prosecute them for anything but
27:38
solicitation of a minor bank. Regulators expect applicants to be candid,
27:45
said Cardinal, now, an associate professor at Fordham Law School.
27:50
You'd never suspect there was a non prosecution agreement. As
27:53
a bank regulator, I'd be outraged to learn that an
27:56
applicant has misled me in that way. But they didn't care.
28:00
They all knew what you thought that the regulators down
28:03
in the US Virgin Islands weren't hip to what was
28:05
going on. They were. They knew exactly what was up.
28:08
They chose to do the Helen Keller and not see
28:11
what was going on. In his application, Epstein listed as
28:16
references James Staley, the chief executive of Barclays, who had
28:20
cultivated a relationship with Epstein while at JP Morgan Chase.
28:24
Another reference was Andrew Farkas, a New York real estate
28:28
tycoon and co owner of a marina an office complex
28:32
on Saint Thomas with Epstein. Spokesmen for both men said
28:36
they had been unaware they were listed as references, along
28:40
with JP Morgan and First Bank, a Puerto Rico based
28:43
lender with branches in the Virgin Islands that long held
28:47
some of Epstein's accounts. Now, going back and looking at
28:50
this with hindsight, we all know that Jess Staley is
28:54
obviously lying here. He knew what was up, and he
28:57
was helping Epstein every step of the way as far
29:00
where as the financials go. And I called Jess Staley
29:02
a liar back then, and I'll continue to call him
29:05
one now. Dude bullshitted everybody about his relationship with Epstein,
29:09
and now that shit's boomeranging back around to hit him
29:13
directly in his head. The application was submitted by Erica
29:17
Keller Hall's, a long time tax lawyer for Epstein in
29:20
the Virgin Islands. She did not return requests for comment.
29:25
Southern Country had not commenced doing business as of April
29:28
twenty eighteen, according to correspondence between Keller Halls and the
29:33
territory's banking department. Regulators said the bank was a self
29:37
reporting company and did not require additional regulatory oversight if
29:42
it was not operational, but court documents show Southern Country
29:46
was active for some of last year. If I was
29:49
JP Morgan, I'd be focusing on this right now. And
29:52
also if I was the survivors, I'd be zeroing in
29:55
on the US Virgin Islands. How dare they take money
29:58
out of my pocket? Food off my table? That's the
30:01
way I look at it. Records filed by the estate
30:05
on Friday indicate the Southern Country had six hundred and
30:09
ninety three thousand, one hundred and fifty seven dollars in
30:11
assets when Epstein died August tenth. Then in mid December,
30:16
the estate transferred fifteen and a half million to Southern
30:19
Country in two checks. Southern Country sent back two point
30:22
six million, leaving the total it received at twelve point
30:26
nine million. The documents filed by the estate do not
30:29
give a reason for the transfers. It is also not
30:32
clear what Southern Country did with that money. Two weeks later,
30:36
the year end value of Southern Country's assets was four
30:40
hundred and ninety nine thousand, seven hundred and fifty nine dollars,
30:43
according to the estate's filings. So where'd that money go?
30:46
I guess it just disappeared, right. I guess it's just
30:49
unaccounted for and fell into a black hole. What really
30:53
happened is it's in somebody's offshore account and nobody's the
30:57
wiser for it. The estate is told to Fish in
31:00
the Virgin Islands that it does not intend to renew
31:03
the bank's license again. Around the time the territory granted
31:07
Epstein as banking license, it also gave a lucrative tax
31:10
break to Southern Trust, a company Epstein said was developing
31:15
sophisticated algorithms to mind DNA and financial databases. Boy, that's reassuring. Huh.
31:21
This idiot wants to mind DNA databases and compile records
31:25
of people's DNA sounds like a fantastic plan. The tax
31:29
break came from the territory's Economic Development Authority, which was
31:33
approved by the territory's former governor, John DeJong Junior, while
31:37
his wife, Cecil worked for Epstein. Neither Cecil DeJong nor
31:41
her husband returned messages seeking comment. Well, of course they won't.
31:46
They have nothing to say about this. They want to
31:48
stay under the radar. But I think a big problem
31:50
here is the fact that the USVII is greedy. That's
31:54
just what it comes down to. And I think their
31:56
greed is going to undo them when all is said
31:59
and done. Because if you think JP Morgan is writing
32:02
a check to the US Virgin Islands, I have some
32:05
beachfront property to sell you in the middle of the
32:07
Nevada Desert. The tax break granted in twenty thirteen was
32:12
a boon for Epstein. Southern Trust generated about three hundred
32:15
million in profit in six years, and he paid an
32:18
effective tax rate of about three point nine percent. The
32:22
source of Southern Trust revenue is not clear. The bare
32:25
bones corporate filings made by the company in the Virgin
32:29
Islands do not list any clients. That's because it was
32:32
a money washing stop. That's exactly what it was, a
32:36
place for them to wash up their money and get
32:38
it sent back out into the financial system, colored up
32:41
and ready to go. Although the Virgin Islands was long
32:45
a place where Epstein got his way, it is lately
32:48
cast itself as one of his victims. In a lawsuit
32:51
last month, the Attorney General of the Virgin Islands, Denise George,
32:54
said Epstein had sullied the territory's reputation with his conduct.
32:59
What about your comb Denise George, What about your colleague's conduct?
33:03
What about Stacy Plaskett. She sued Epstein's estate, seeking to
33:07
sasee as private islands and dissolve what she said were
33:11
shell companies acting as fronts for his sex trafficking enterprise.
33:15
There's a lot of that that's true. But also let's
33:18
not forget the money laundering aspect of this. A lot
33:21
of people leave that out because it's not as salacious,
33:24
but remember that's how you get most of these criminals
33:27
financial crimes. The suit seeks to intervene in the administration
33:31
of Epstein's will to safeguard assets for dozens of his victims,
33:36
claiming the co executors may have a conflict of interest
33:39
because they were officers in many of Epstein's companies, including
33:44
Southern Country and Southern Trust. The co executors, Darren Endyke
33:49
and Richard Kahn, did not return requests for comment. Well,
33:52
they were part of the whole, entire criminal conspiracy and
33:55
the fact that their skating free and dry here is
33:58
just unbelievable to me. Herman Purcell, the magistrate judge overseeing
34:04
the administration of Epstein's will in the US Virgin Islands
34:08
heard arguments on the Attorney General's request at the hearing
34:11
on Tuesday. The judge said she would issue a ruling
34:15
at a later date, So we all know that it
34:18
has progressed from here. But I wanted to go back
34:21
and talk about this one more time because it's just
34:23
another receipt to show you what I'm talking about when
34:26
it comes to the US Virgin Islands and their negligence
34:30
with Epstein and Jeffrey Epstein's discussing crimes and the fact
34:34
that they think they're going to get more money here
34:36
is absurd to me, and I think it needs to
34:38
be pointed out that they are not a victim and
34:41
in fact, they're an enabler themselves. All Right, folks, that's
34:46
gonna do it for this one. All of the information
34:48
that goes with the episode can be found in the
34:51
description box. What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode
34:55
of the Epstein Chronicles. Yo, what a shocker, GOP lawmaker,
35:00
once again proving that when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein,
35:03
transparency is apparently a four letter word. They had one
35:07
simple job vote to subpoena the man's bank records. The
35:11
one trail of evidence that isn't wrapped in spin pr
35:14
statements or conveniently redacted testimony. This is the kind of
35:19
financial documentation that could have connected the dots shown who
35:23
was paying, who was receiving, who was laundering, and who
35:26
was propping up the biggest blackmail and trafficking operation of
35:31
modern times. But instead of courage, what did they offer?
35:35
A collective shrug and a resounding no, as if protecting
35:39
Epstein's shadowy network was just another day at the office. Now,
35:43
they want you to believe that this was about principle,
35:46
but it was really about self preservation, because heaven forbid,
35:50
we follow the money and see whose fingerprints are all
35:53
over it. And look, let's not miss the irony here.
35:56
These are the same lawmakers who would happily subpoena your
35:59
great Gamma's Venmo account if she bought a cup of
36:02
coffee out of protests. They didn't like, though, issue subpoenas
36:05
like candy when it comes to petty partisan vendettas. But suddenly,
36:09
when Epstein's banking records are on the table, they're born
36:12
again constitutionalists, preaching about overreach and restraint. Save the bullshit.
36:18
The hypocrisy isn't just glaring. It's practically blinding. They've spent
36:23
years branding themselves as the champions of law and order.
36:26
Yet the second law and order dares creep towards the
36:29
golden circle of elites, they sprint in the opposite direction,
36:32
tripping over themselves to slam the vault shut. And what
36:36
this vote really says, loud and clear is that protecting
36:39
the public doesn't matter. Protecting survivors doesn't matter. What matters
36:44
is protecting the reputations of the well connected. The same
36:47
donors who write the checks, the same businessmen they toast with,
36:50
that fundraisers, the same names that would have spilled out
36:54
of those ledgers like gasoline on fire. And what we're
36:58
seeing here is not a principle old stand. It was
37:01
a panic move, an extra size and damage control disguised
37:05
as legislative prudence. By shooting down this subpoena, they didn't
37:10
just block an investigation. They hope that they strangled it
37:13
in the crib, ensuring that the trail of corruption stays
37:16
cold and the guilty stay untouchable. And make no mistake,
37:20
they're terrified because Epstein wasn't just some loan predator with
37:24
a sick hobby and a private jet. He was a
37:26
broker of influence, a financier of corruption, a human black
37:30
mail machine whose rolodex was more powerful than any committee
37:34
on the hill. His bank records would tell the story.
37:37
No amount of press releases or a partisan gas lighting
37:40
could erase who funded him, who he funded, and how
37:43
deep that rot really went. That's the nightmare these lawmakers
37:48
can't face, not because the truth isn't obvious it is,
37:51
but because putting it on paper would force them to
37:54
admit their own complicity, their own cowardice, and the uncomfortable
37:58
reality that Epstein's operation wasn't an aberration, but a feature
38:03
of the very system they now pretend to safeguard. So
38:06
let's drop the charade. This wasn't about due process, It
38:09
wasn't about overreach. It certainly wasn't about protecting the integrity
38:13
of the government. It was about shielding the guilty, burying
38:16
the evidence and hoping the public forgets. It was about
38:19
power protecting power, as it always does. And in the end,
38:23
the GOP didn't just vote against the subpoena. They voted
38:26
against accountability, against justice, and against the people they're supposed
38:30
to represent. They chose cowardice dressed up as principle obstruction
38:35
wrapped in procedure, and in doing so, they've once again
38:38
reminded us that when the powerful are implicated, the system
38:42
bends over backwards, not to break them, but to protect them.
38:46
Today's article is from the USA Today and the headline
38:49
GOP shuts down House Democrats effort to subpoena banks handling
38:54
Jeffrey Epstein money. This article was authored by Josh Meyer.
39:01
House Republicans rejected an effort to subpoena four banks that
39:04
were reportedly flagged about one point five billion in suspicious
39:08
financial transactions linked to disgraced financier and alleged sex trafficker
39:12
Jeffrey Epstein. Alleged say what now. Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland,
39:19
the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, made a
39:23
motion during the group's first oversight hearing, pressing FBI Director
39:27
Cash Pattel since he took over the bureau in February. Look,
39:31
I don't know why anybody would be against this. The
39:34
financial sector. If you want to look for the boogeyman,
39:38
that's where you're going to find it. Those are the
39:41
people that are screwing us. On a daily basis. Those
39:44
are the people that we should all be mad at.
39:47
And once again they slide away without any kind of ramifications.
39:50
One point five billion dollars in suspicious transactions and they
39:56
want you to report six hundred dollars if you use
39:59
a mobile app. Yo. Real talk. How can anybody support
40:02
these people? And as somebody on the outside looking in,
40:05
meaning I don't claim one political party or the other,
40:09
I find it wild that anyone is still believing the
40:11
bullshit that these people are pumping. And it goes for
40:14
both sides. By the way, I'm not just talking about
40:17
the GOP here. Well, they're the target of this conversation obviously,
40:21
but overall, let's not act like the Democrats gave one
40:24
single shit about what was going on. And I have
40:27
an episode coming up where we're gonna discuss that a
40:29
bit further, because they're carrying on like there's some kind
40:32
of heroes here when they could have stepped up multiple times. Look,
40:37
Cash Bettel's not wrong about that when he says that
40:40
the Democrats could have done something about this years ago.
40:42
They could have. They chose not to. So if we're
40:46
gonna look at this, we have to look at it
40:48
as the systemic problem that it is not just to
40:51
try and score, you know, political points, because if you
40:54
do that, we're not gonna get anywhere. So we need
40:57
honest brokers here, and unfortunately we don't have any of them.
41:00
Besides a handful of people like Roe Conna and Thomas Massey,
41:04
and a handful of others that shockingly even includes Marjorie
41:07
Taylor Green. The rest of these people should be embarrassed.
41:13
Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland, the top Democrat of the
41:17
House Judiciary Committee, made a motion during the group's first
41:20
oversight hearing, pressing FBI Director Cash Bettel since he took
41:24
over the bureau in February, these four banks of flag
41:28
to the government one point five billion in suspicious transactions
41:32
related to the sex trafficking crimes and conspiracy of Epstein,
41:36
his associate Glain Maxwell, and all of their collaborators, Raskin said,
41:40
September seventeenth, Now, why would anyone block this? Honestly, how
41:44
can you look your constituents in the eye and say,
41:47
you know what, we didn't want a subpoena. The banks
41:50
the same people that have screwed everybody from the start
41:52
of time, and this is why we never get anywhere.
41:56
This is why we continue to spin our wheels in
41:58
neutral because the people that can make a change, the
42:01
people that can do something different, they never do. And
42:04
that's because both sides are bought and paid for. I
42:08
hope everybody's waking up to that, and I hope everybody
42:10
knows that they're not going to let this crisis when
42:12
it comes to Charlie Kirk go to waste. They're going
42:15
to use this great tragedy to find a way to
42:17
screw us, make no mistake about it. And we already
42:20
heard Pam Bondi out here talking about hate speech and
42:22
the rest of it. I mean, you want to talk
42:24
about anti American principle, you want to talk about unconstitutional.
42:29
Everything that lady was saying when it comes to so
42:31
called hate speech was unconstitutional. Now, look, people should be
42:36
able to say whatever they want. Now, does that mean
42:39
they should be protected from the ramifications of what they say. No,
42:43
but they should have the ability to say it without
42:45
the government threatening them. What kind of horseshit is that?
42:49
I mean, let's be real. They're more concerned about what
42:52
somebody might say online than they are about the banks
42:55
laundering money for Jeffrey Epstein into the tune of over
42:58
a billion dollars, tell me you're priorities aren't fucked up
43:01
without telling me your priorities aren't fucked up. The Maryland
43:05
lawmakers said he wanted the banks and their CEOs to
43:08
turn over everything they had in their connection with helping
43:11
move money to or from Epstein, who died by suicide
43:15
in twenty nineteen as he was awaiting trial on federal
43:18
sex trafficking charges. So what Congress should do here is
43:21
they should just do an end around the DOJ and
43:24
the banks, and they should contact the USVII government and
43:28
get the documentation from them. They had a big ass
43:31
lawsuit with JP Morgan and go from there. And the SDNY,
43:35
they have a bunch of information. They had several different
43:37
lawsuits going on when it comes to JP Morgan, Deutsche Bank,
43:41
and others like the Bank of New York, Mellon, Chase Bank,
43:47
several different banks that were doing business with this man.
43:49
So they have the desire to tell you what you
43:51
can and can't say, but they don't have the desire
43:54
to chase down the connections of the people who enabled
43:56
Jeffrey Epstein and made his whole entire criminal empire possible.
44:01
Are you paying attention yet? Specifically, Raskin pushed to subpoena
44:07
JP Morgan, Chase, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, and Bank
44:10
of New York Mellon and their CEOs. Republican lawmakers have
44:15
largely joined Democrats in saying they want answers to the
44:18
growing questions around Epstein, including whether others participated in his
44:22
alleged sex trafficking ring using young women and underage girls.
44:26
But when it came time to vote on Raskin's motion,
44:29
Committee Chair Jim Jim Schwartz Jordan of Ohio quickly approved
44:34
a Republican move to table it or shoot it down
44:37
before lawmakers could discuss it. Well, isn't that shocking, mister
44:41
Jim Jordan? Have you seen the story about the Ohio
44:45
State wrestling team and the abuse that they suffered. I
44:49
don't think Jim Jordan has any place sitting on this
44:51
committee about this topic. It's as gross as George Mitchell
44:55
being part of the Catholic negotiation. When it comes to
44:59
the priests, who are MO people. I mean, you can't
45:02
even make this shit up, and it's almost like they
45:05
throw it directly in your face. Right. Yeah, Look, I'm
45:08
accused of doing this with Jeffrey Epstein. I'm accused of
45:11
assaulting Virginia. But let me go over here and be
45:15
part of this whole negotiation with the Catholic Church and
45:18
the fund that got set up. Is nobody paying attention
45:22
to what's really going on and just how fucking deep
45:24
this all runs, Jim Jordan, give me a break with
45:27
this guy. The committee did not stop to debate the motion,
45:31
so the GOP lawmakers who voted to table the effort
45:34
didn't immediately explain the reasoning behind their votes. USA Today
45:38
has reached out to GOP House Judiciary Committee staffer comment, Oh,
45:43
I'm sure they'll have a comment for you. I'm sure
45:45
they'll have all kinds of stupid ass comments for you,
45:49
none that shine any light on what's going on, but
45:51
I'm sure they'll have some comments. A recent New York
45:55
Times investigation cited by Raskin and other Democrats alleged JP
45:59
Morgan Chase spend years supporting and profiting from the notorious
46:03
sex offender, ignoring red flags, suspicious activity and concerned executives. Well,
46:09
we've been talking about this for years now, and now
46:12
the legacy media is finally catching up. But if you
46:15
want to go after somebody, this is not rocket science.
46:18
Follow the money. That's how you nail these people. I
46:22
don't know how many times I gotta say it. That's
46:25
how they got al Capone, That's how they get mafia
46:27
figures all the time. That's how they get people all
46:30
the time. Follow the money, whether it's taxes, undeclared, dough
46:33
whatever it might be. When you're dealing with people like this,
46:38
nothing is on the up and up. And we all
46:40
know that Jeffrey Epstein was involved in all kinds of
46:42
money laundering, all kinds of crazy shit. And that's exactly
46:46
why they don't want to look at these documents. They're
46:49
scared where they're gonna lead. And I've said this for
46:52
months now. I think that's what Donald Trump fears. I
46:55
think that it's gonna lead to his supporters, it's gonna
46:57
lead to his donors, and it's going to lead to
47:00
some of the most powerful people in the world of finance.
47:03
And if you think that the people who actually fund
47:05
the whole entire thing that we see here with the
47:07
government with everything, are going to let themselves be exposed,
47:11
you are absolutely insane. While Republicans were moving to block
47:15
Raskin's motion. The Maryland Democrat noted that JP Morgan Chase
47:19
CEO Jamie Diamond said his bank would comply with any
47:22
subpoena to hand over Epstein related records. Well, yeah, what
47:26
else is he going to do? Gonna fight it? Good
47:28
luck with that. We regret any association with that man
47:32
at all, and of course, if it's a legal requirement,
47:35
we're going to conform to it, Diamond told a reporter
47:38
after leaving the Senate GOP lunch on September seventeenth. Senator
47:42
Ron Wyden of Oregon, the top Democrat on the Senate
47:45
Finance Committee, also has been pushing for access to Epstein's
47:49
related bank records for months. Wyden has said One of
47:52
the Treasury Department's documents reviewed by Democratic and Republican staff
47:57
of the Senate Finance Committee, indicated that the between two
48:00
thousand and three and twenty nineteen, there were more than
48:03
four seven hundred and twenty five wire transfers totaling one
48:07
point eight billion involving Epstein and his associates. Yo chew
48:11
on that for a minute and ask yourself, how was
48:13
this never Rico did he got hit with Rico r Kelly.
48:18
Everybody gets Rico nowadays, not Jeffrey Epstein, Nachalainne Maxwell. Ask
48:22
yourself why? And it's not because they're in the masade? Okay.
48:26
At the five hour hearing on September seventeenth, Raskin and
48:29
other Democrats excortiated Patel for publicly calling for the release
48:33
of all Epstein documents before he was FBI director and
48:37
then refusing to release him now that he's in charge.
48:40
The director has said he's blocked by court orders. Put
48:43
your big boy pants on and let us know who
48:46
the pedal files are, Raskin said during the marathon five
48:49
hour hearing. Look, it's not the wrong way to go, honestly,
48:54
And I think that the question is sound. Why are
48:56
you protecting the people who are helping Epstein's engine? Why
49:00
are you protecting people that were obviously involved in some
49:03
way or the other. What's the motivation here? And I
49:07
think that's what's really frustrating a lot of people that
49:10
are maga. And I think the more that they double
49:12
down and they keep digging this cover uphole that they
49:15
find themselves in deeper, they're going to keep losing more support.
49:19
Because as more evidence comes out, it's more obvious than
49:23
ever that there's a cover up underway, and of course
49:26
the million dollar question is who are you protecting and why.
