- 0:27Speaker 2: You listen to me, to me? So we have Sandy
- 0:31Speaker 2: on and then we're gonna have my mom Vicky on
- 0:34Speaker 2: in a bit. Sandy, I just have to ask you
- 0:38Speaker 2: one question before we get started. What is your middle name?
- 0:44Speaker 3: My middle name is Manyon.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Oh see, I was hoping you were Sandy Sue, Sandy Sue.
- 0:51Speaker 1: No, Ma, it's like Filet Mignon or something.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Manyon.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Where does that even come from?
- 0:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a surname. Was part of my family.
- 1:04Speaker 1: You'll learn something new every day. Are we talking sex
- 1:07Speaker 1: with my mom?
- 1:08Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:09Speaker 2: I mean I'm gonna ask her some questions about the
- 1:11Speaker 2: Casida about.
- 1:13Speaker 1: The Casidra, Yeah, we mean why we got a bigger bed?
- 1:16Speaker 2: Yep, that's what I want to know. I want to
- 1:19Speaker 2: know first, how long did it take you to get
- 1:22Speaker 2: your bed upgraded so that things could be.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Probably seven months? I'd say, yeah, about seven months?
- 1:31Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:31Speaker 1: So she had a day bed in there, and then
- 1:35Speaker 1: she got a boyfriend, and.
- 1:37Speaker 5: Yeah, then we about a blow up bed because that
- 1:40Speaker 5: little bed was just too small for what we wanted
- 1:42Speaker 5: to do.
- 1:44Speaker 2: I feel like a blow up bed would be kind
- 1:47Speaker 2: of noisy, though.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Yeah, she's on the ground floor, so she's I don't
- 1:54Speaker 1: even want to think about it.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Can we just move on? Have you tried out to
- 1:57Speaker 2: ham or sex chair?
- 1:59Speaker 1: I didn't tell her I had one, teddy?
- 2:01Speaker 4: Thanks?
- 2:02Speaker 3: Does it hang from the ceiling?
- 2:04Speaker 1: No, it doesn't hang from the ceiling. Mom, It's just
- 2:07Speaker 1: what I mean.
- 2:08Speaker 2: You didn't tell her you had on? What did she
- 2:09Speaker 2: think that was in your room?
- 2:11Speaker 1: I hide it on the side of my bed.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Oh well, sorry about that?
- 2:16Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Okay, so let's start from the beginning. Was Tamra a
- 2:20Speaker 2: feisty little girl? What was she like as a kid?
- 2:23Speaker 6: She was?
- 2:24Speaker 5: She was an experience. You just never knew what you
- 2:28Speaker 5: were going to come home to. I came home one
- 2:29Speaker 5: day and the whole varsity football team was in my
- 2:32Speaker 5: family room. Not the star quarterback, the whole varsity football team.
- 2:38Speaker 2: What were they doing? I'm gonna need a.
- 2:41Speaker 5: Lying on the couch hanging over the recoiners on my
- 2:45Speaker 5: exercise equipment eating.
- 2:48Speaker 2: So Tam was always a rule breaker.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I was Yeah, she was friendly. Are you called?
- 2:56Speaker 2: Are you slut shaming me me or your mom my mom?
- 3:00Speaker 3: No, you were friendly. You had a lot of friends.
- 3:04Speaker 2: She's just calling it like it is.
- 3:06Speaker 1: I guess so.
- 3:07Speaker 2: And rumor has it that you are going to be
- 3:10Speaker 2: the star of this season's Real Housewives of Orange County this.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Season and every season.
- 3:18Speaker 1: God oh man.
- 3:21Speaker 3: So good.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Okay, So she claims she learned how to make a
- 3:24Speaker 2: great burger from working at Burger King. Is this true?
- 3:30Speaker 3: Yes, it is.
- 3:30Speaker 5: We had given her a car for her sixteenth birthday,
- 3:33Speaker 5: and we told her she had to pay for her
- 3:35Speaker 5: own car insurance and her own gas, so she walked
- 3:39Speaker 5: home every day. So that day she came home with
- 3:41Speaker 5: her little uniform. She goes, Okay, I got a job, give.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Me the car.
- 3:44Speaker 1: For the record, I never paid for my own inshian
- 3:46Speaker 1: our gas. Probably no, I made guys pay for my gas.
- 3:50Speaker 3: See.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Oh, and that's why she had to have the whole
- 3:51Speaker 2: football team over.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Yeah, yep, rotation that tracks. I don't know who's on
- 3:56Speaker 1: the bench.
- 3:58Speaker 2: And then, what did you think was going to grow
- 4:01Speaker 2: up to be as a child? Did you a yeah,
- 4:06Speaker 2: super model, not runway.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Well, clearly, I'm five four.
- 4:10Speaker 5: I thought she'd be modeling for Sears or something, modeling
- 4:13Speaker 5: for Sears.
- 4:14Speaker 1: You heard it here first the Sears catalog.
- 4:18Speaker 2: No, like Mills. Remember the place where we'd go Mills,
- 4:22Speaker 2: all in Mills and you'd sit in a wicker chair
- 4:24Speaker 2: and like you have the bangs that were like there there, No, wait.
- 4:28Speaker 1: I have that picture I have I'm gonna have to
- 4:31Speaker 1: find it in Mills.
- 4:34Speaker 2: And they dressed me up like I was like eight,
- 4:37Speaker 2: and they dressed me up like I was forty five
- 4:39Speaker 2: years old, like pearls and these big earrings, but like
- 4:45Speaker 2: purple eye makeup. Okay, so you thought she was going
- 4:49Speaker 2: to be a model. Then what was your reaction when
- 4:52Speaker 2: she booked?
- 4:55Speaker 3: Oh see, actually I didn't think she had a snowballs
- 4:59Speaker 3: chance in hell get it because there was no drama
- 5:04Speaker 3: in her life.
- 5:06Speaker 1: Well except for my failing marriage.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Well I don't even bring that up.
- 5:09Speaker 5: But you know, I'm just I started watching the show
- 5:13Speaker 5: before she did.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Oh you did, So you were fan of the show.
- 5:16Speaker 5: She's a reality junkie, Yes I am, And so I
- 5:19Speaker 5: saw the wine throwing in all that garbage, and I
- 5:21Speaker 5: thought she doesn't do that.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Well, they didn't really do that much wine throwing prior.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Well, they did a lot of arguing.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Well, I think I brought the arguing in.
- 5:30Speaker 5: You caused the demise of the What did you think
- 5:35Speaker 5: when they fired me? I thought they were stupid, right, yeah,
- 5:40Speaker 5: I thought they were stupid.
- 5:41Speaker 3: And they bring you back as soon as they could.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I had that one pigged.
- 5:47Speaker 2: That's very true. What is your favorite memory as Tamra
- 5:53Speaker 2: as a child? Favorite memory is a She's like, that's
- 5:59Speaker 2: gonna be hard.
- 6:03Speaker 3: You know, I can't even answer that. I don't really remember.
- 6:06Speaker 3: I'm old as a child.
- 6:12Speaker 7: Yep, I get my track, my bass, softball, my I
- 6:17Speaker 7: guess when she went to the All Stars she was
- 6:20Speaker 7: a picture you were, yeah.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Softball, Yeah, she was good too.
- 6:24Speaker 3: I was a jock.
- 6:25Speaker 5: I yeah, she did track track. She filled in one
- 6:28Speaker 5: time for somebody who wasn't there or got sick, and
- 6:31Speaker 5: she came in first in every event.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Well, what it is is I ran track, but when
- 6:35Speaker 1: track and field there's things like throw the disc and
- 6:39Speaker 1: high jump and broad jump jumping all that. So they
- 6:42Speaker 1: threw me in because somebody was missing, and I won
- 6:45Speaker 1: them all.
- 6:45Speaker 2: So let's go back to two thousand and six. You
- 6:52Speaker 2: were watching the show already and Tarma tells you she's
- 6:55Speaker 2: going to be on it once she's actually cast. Do
- 6:59Speaker 2: you think it was a bad idea? Like were you're
- 7:01Speaker 2: like you shouldn't do this or you're like, yeah, let's
- 7:03Speaker 2: go for it.
- 7:03Speaker 5: No, I said let's go for it.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Just I don't even remember the early days with you
- 7:08Speaker 1: on the show, did you?
- 7:12Speaker 3: Were you not real often?
- 7:14Speaker 1: You weren't on it that often in the very beginning, right.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Have you guys always had a close relationship or you
- 7:20Speaker 2: guys do have like ups and downs. My mom will
- 7:22Speaker 2: be next, So no.
- 7:24Speaker 1: We've always had a close relationship, but we are both
- 7:26Speaker 1: we're a lot alike. We were very uh private, private
- 7:30Speaker 1: into ourselves.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:31Speaker 1: So it's like my mom lives here at the house,
- 7:34Speaker 1: so we have a casino. We added on a kitchenette
- 7:36Speaker 1: to it, so she's got our own entrance and everything.
- 7:39Speaker 3: So she comes and.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Goes, and I it'll be two weeks sometimes and I've
- 7:43Speaker 1: never even seen you.
- 7:44Speaker 5: I'm not even sure your home or not, because if
- 7:46Speaker 5: your car's out there, I assume your home. But if
- 7:48Speaker 5: you were picked up right, you're not here so.
- 7:50Speaker 1: So I don't see her as much as you would think.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I see her, Yeah, living with us.
- 7:57Speaker 2: And then do you have a favorite on camera mode
- 8:00Speaker 2: that Tama has done.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's when she threw the wine at Gina.
- 8:09Speaker 1: And you had a speaking part in that. Do you
- 8:10Speaker 1: remember what it was?
- 8:12Speaker 5: She says she's gonna throw my skinny ass in the
- 8:15Speaker 5: pool and I told her to leave my daughter alone
- 8:18Speaker 5: or something like that.
- 8:19Speaker 2: So you were there in that moment.
- 8:21Speaker 1: She was in the middle of it.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Yeah, she was.
- 8:24Speaker 2: And what actually happened that made you throw wine? Yeah?
- 8:29Speaker 1: So I was going through my divorce and Simon was
- 8:31Speaker 1: putting a lot of really negative stories in the press.
- 8:34Speaker 1: He had teamed up with this guy named Alan who
- 8:37Speaker 1: was at Radar, and they were constantly doing these just
- 8:40Speaker 1: nasty stories like you know, Tamra beats Simon and all
- 8:45Speaker 1: these crazy things. And they would always put my kids
- 8:47Speaker 1: in the press whenever they did these stories, and Gina
- 8:51Speaker 1: was always commenting on them, talking to Simon, and so
- 8:54Speaker 1: I kept telling I said, can you please stop every
- 8:56Speaker 1: time you do an interview, and Gina as well was
- 8:58Speaker 1: doing interviews. I said, every time you do it interview,
- 9:00Speaker 1: my kid's face are being all over.
- 9:04Speaker 2: When you said cyst and deceased.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Yes, sist deceased and uh so I you know, I
- 9:11Speaker 1: was in NAPA with Eddie and I was right for
- 9:13Speaker 1: the season finale and another article came out and Gina
- 9:16Speaker 1: was commenting in it. So I said, this is it.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I called my attorney. I said, what can we do?
- 9:20Speaker 1: He says, well, I can give you know, I write
- 9:22Speaker 1: up a letter of.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Ceased and desist.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And I said, let's do it. And so I said
- 9:26Speaker 1: do I need somebody to serve her? And they said, well,
- 9:29Speaker 1: well there's more impact on that. And then productions like
- 9:31Speaker 1: no you I told them, I God, I'm doing this.
- 9:33Speaker 1: They're like, no, you do it yourself. So I tried
- 9:36Speaker 1: to give it to her and she wouldn't take it,
- 9:39Speaker 1: and then she said I'm gonna throw your skinny ass
- 9:41Speaker 1: in the pool, and then I can't remember I.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Threw it in her face. He slapped her in the
- 9:46Speaker 3: face with it.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Oh great, hopefully great.
- 9:48Speaker 3: I don't think I great a piece of paper. It's
- 9:51Speaker 3: not going to hurt her.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Yeah, either doesn't actin Well, how did you feel about
- 9:54Speaker 2: Tamra's bathtub scene with Eddie? He was uncomfortable for me,
- 10:01Speaker 2: what do you mean have you watched all the episodes?
- 10:04Speaker 3: Like, no, I don't watch them all?
- 10:06Speaker 2: And did you watch when she was off?
- 10:09Speaker 3: No?
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yeah I did not. No. And then let's think what
- 10:17Speaker 2: what other hard questions can I ask? Oh, other than Tamra,
- 10:21Speaker 2: who is your favorite Real Housewives of Orange County? It
- 10:24Speaker 2: can be from the past or at present. It doesn't
- 10:27Speaker 2: matter to me.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Out of all the cast, out of all the casts,
- 10:29Speaker 1: I mean out of.
- 10:31Speaker 8: That, well, when you think about that, probably none of them.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Well what do you think of me?
- 10:45Speaker 3: Who I like you?
- 10:46Speaker 2: Okay, for you, you're one of the few. I've got
- 10:49Speaker 2: one person that likes me, Tamra's mom.
- 10:51Speaker 3: But this is the most important persons.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean obviously. Now, oh my god, we're gonna
- 10:58Speaker 2: have to do Mary and No thank you. These are
- 11:01Speaker 2: who you have to pick from.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Okay, Mary, no thank you?
- 11:05Speaker 3: Okay?
- 11:05Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 11:07Speaker 2: Slade mm hmmm, Terry, debro or Brooks.
- 11:14Speaker 1: So who would you marry Slade, Terry Brow or Brooks?
- 11:16Speaker 5: I marry Terry. Everybody needs a plastic surgeon in the family.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Okay, Okay, So you're gonna what are the other two?
- 11:24Speaker 2: Slade and Brooks?
- 11:27Speaker 3: No thank you? No, thank you?
- 11:29Speaker 2: You don't get to do double note.
- 11:30Speaker 9: Thanks.
- 11:31Speaker 2: You gotta one of them, but you gotta pick which
- 11:35Speaker 2: one you're gonna.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Oh, not the one I'm gonna marry.
- 11:39Speaker 2: No, Well, yeah you can't.
- 11:42Speaker 1: So you're either gonna f Slade or you're gonna f Brooks.
- 11:45Speaker 1: I heard Brooks, Big Brooks.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Brooks.
- 11:49Speaker 2: That's tough. That's a tough one. I don't think. I
- 11:53Speaker 2: think I would have to marry I'm opposite that you.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I'd have to marry Terry. Even though Teddy and Harry
- 12:00Speaker 2: as a couple is the worst combination of two names.
- 12:04Speaker 2: I'd have to f Slade and say no thank you
- 12:08Speaker 2: to Broox.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean the other two are really they're really bad,
- 12:13Speaker 1: really bad.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:17Speaker 2: And then who if you were going to be a
- 12:20Speaker 2: permanent fixture and you got yourself your own orange, what
- 12:24Speaker 2: would your tagline be?
- 12:26Speaker 1: Well, we just happened to have an orange right here.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Okay. You know, although I've dated a lot of Franks,
- 12:32Speaker 3: but let's be Frank. I am the star of the show.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Although I've dated a lot of Franks. Three three Francs.
- 12:44Speaker 2: What's it with Franks?
- 12:45Speaker 3: I don't know, it's just the age. I think that's
- 12:47Speaker 3: kind of a common name.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Well, her dad's your age, John Mellencamp. Would you date him?
- 12:54Speaker 2: You know what? We could be sisters, We could be
- 12:59Speaker 2: I mean, you better. It's better than when we thought
- 13:01Speaker 2: you were going to be my mother in law, right,
- 13:04Speaker 2: not my mother in law, my mother, mother, my mother.
- 13:07Speaker 3: I am your mother.
- 13:08Speaker 2: I am your mother. I know we said you don't
- 13:12Speaker 2: have a favorite, oh Sea housewife, but who's your least favorite?
- 13:17Speaker 4: Oh?
- 13:17Speaker 3: All of them?
- 13:17Speaker 4: But you.
- 13:19Speaker 3: And my daughter. Of course.
- 13:23Speaker 1: She gets annoyed with them, Yeah I do, But like,
- 13:27Speaker 1: but don't you get annoyed with me? Like when you
- 13:29Speaker 1: watch the show, are you like, oh.
- 13:31Speaker 3: God, really?
- 13:32Speaker 2: Or are you like, thank god she did that? No?
- 13:35Speaker 3: Usually it's why does she keep arguing with people?
- 13:39Speaker 1: But don't don't you guys ever argue not verbally?
- 13:42Speaker 3: We don't. We we argue silently.
- 13:45Speaker 1: We're silent.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Yeah, oh you just you're both just for you'd rather
- 13:49Speaker 2: just walk away.
- 13:51Speaker 3: We just brush it under the ruck and then it
- 13:53Speaker 3: goes away. Eventually it goes away. But I don't.
- 13:55Speaker 1: I mean, I can't think of a time where I'm like,
- 13:57Speaker 1: I didn't talk to my mom because she kissed me off.
- 14:00Speaker 2: And if if you could take somebody's orange and make
- 14:03Speaker 2: it your own. Who would it be?
- 14:05Speaker 3: Oh? Heathered debros Hey.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Next, and then do you think that Tamar has made
- 14:14Speaker 2: any true real friendships on this show?
- 14:20Speaker 3: Possibly?
- 14:20Speaker 1: You, but she's not on the okay, on the show
- 14:25Speaker 1: that you're on.
- 14:25Speaker 2: No, and I don't appreciate the possibly.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Have to put a little disclaimer in there, you know,
- 14:35Speaker 1: Oh my god. Yeah, my mom's not the overly emotional,
- 14:43Speaker 1: touchy Philly. She's a lot like me, or I'm a
- 14:45Speaker 1: lot like her. We're cold, we're cold people. We have
- 14:48Speaker 1: hearts advice. So like if we're having a party or
- 14:52Speaker 1: people are over, we're like, where's Mom? Oh, she left,
- 14:57Speaker 1: she's gone.
- 14:58Speaker 4: There was.
- 14:59Speaker 1: She doesn't believe in.
- 14:59Speaker 3: A I hate goodbyes. I hate goodbye.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Irish Is that what they call it?
- 15:03Speaker 2: Yeah, Irish goodbyes. I love an Irish goodbye.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Yeah, so we'll be This is before she lived with us,
- 15:08Speaker 1: because even now when she lives, we's mom. She's gone mom.
- 15:14Speaker 2: And then will you guys spend Mother's Day together?
- 15:19Speaker 1: Well, this might be a good time for me to
- 15:20Speaker 1: tell you that I'm leaving town.
- 15:22Speaker 3: I was going to say, if she's going to be
- 15:23Speaker 3: in town, yes, if not, it's okay.
- 15:27Speaker 2: So will you hang out with one of the Franks?
- 15:30Speaker 3: Hell?
- 15:31Speaker 1: No, Now she's got a David.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Yeah, David. The Franks was a long time ago.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Now finally moved on to a David.
- 15:39Speaker 3: David.
- 15:39Speaker 1: How long have you guys been together?
- 15:41Speaker 3: About a year? In three months?
- 15:43Speaker 2: About three months and two days.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Do you think you're going to get married?
- 15:47Speaker 3: No, I'll never get married again?
- 15:48Speaker 1: Or is he going to move in with you?
- 15:50Speaker 10: Not?
- 15:51Speaker 3: Here?
- 15:52Speaker 1: Are you going to move to your house in Arizona?
- 15:53Speaker 5: I'm thinking we will eventually on eventually?
- 15:56Speaker 3: Why you want to rent out the casito?
- 15:59Speaker 2: I need a place to stay when I go to
- 16:01Speaker 2: the horse shows. I need to get out of there. Okay, Well,
- 16:05Speaker 2: but also I have to say now that I'm seeing
- 16:08Speaker 2: this picture of you two. Yeah, like I thought you
- 16:14Speaker 2: were still going to have this haircut, and what's happened?
- 16:17Speaker 2: You look so young?
- 16:20Speaker 3: COVID happened?
- 16:21Speaker 2: But you have long hair and you look like you
- 16:24Speaker 2: guys could be sisters.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Oh good, what we could be.
- 16:27Speaker 1: We're only seventeen years apart. Eighteen years seventeen something like that.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Oh you are, so you had Tamar when you were
- 16:36Speaker 2: seventeen and then Tamar? How old were you when you
- 16:38Speaker 2: had your first eighteen so how'd you feel when she
- 16:42Speaker 2: got pregnant so young?
- 16:45Speaker 1: Can you tell the story, please?
- 16:47Speaker 2: Bullet points.
- 16:48Speaker 1: We were I was at school, Sharon was at home.
- 16:53Speaker 1: My boyfriend in high school was a year older than me,
- 16:58Speaker 1: so you had.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Already graduated, already out school, and he was at our.
- 17:01Speaker 1: House a lot, so it wasn't uncommon for him to.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Be at the house waiting for her to come home.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Waiting for me to come home. So he was there
- 17:07Speaker 1: with my mom and go ahead.
- 17:09Speaker 3: You, I thank you. I asked him, Are is she pregnant?
- 17:15Speaker 3: You asked him yes, because.
- 17:17Speaker 1: The Wigee board, that's what it was. We were doing
- 17:20Speaker 1: the Ouiji board in the Wow.
- 17:22Speaker 3: Yes, it's Tamra pregnant.
- 17:24Speaker 1: And that's how I have a mom. So we were
- 17:25Speaker 1: doing a wigie board like a week prior, and it
- 17:28Speaker 1: kept spelling out baby, baby, baby, and I'm like, oh god,
- 17:32Speaker 1: I started to get a little nervous, and and then
- 17:35Speaker 1: I think it said who and it pointed at me,
- 17:36Speaker 1: and we're like laughed it off and laughed it off.
- 17:38Speaker 1: And then Darren was at my house and I was
- 17:41Speaker 1: coming home from school. I walk into my mom looking
- 17:45Speaker 1: at me, crying and going, I'm too young to be
- 17:48Speaker 1: a grand mother.
- 17:50Speaker 3: But then let's tell him what happened.
- 17:52Speaker 1: And then I looked at Darrel, I'm like, you idiot,
- 17:54Speaker 1: why would you go and do that?
- 17:55Speaker 2: He told her, So he told her without you even
- 17:59Speaker 2: being there, And.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I wasn't gonna tell her. I wasn't even sure I
- 18:02Speaker 1: was going to have it.
- 18:03Speaker 5: Well, we went to Planned Parenthood and while we're going up,
- 18:06Speaker 5: there was one of the picketers were there and the yelling,
- 18:08Speaker 5: we can help you with this baby.
- 18:10Speaker 1: I turned around, we're keeping the baby and we walked out.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so you never even went in and that baby
- 18:16Speaker 2: was Ryan.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Yes?
- 18:18Speaker 4: Yes?
- 18:19Speaker 2: And did you marry Darren?
- 18:20Speaker 1: I did?
- 18:22Speaker 4: I did.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Did you like Darren?
- 18:24Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 18:24Speaker 3: I like Darren.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Yeah he was nice.
- 18:26Speaker 3: He's a nice kid.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Well it's not kid anymore.
- 18:29Speaker 2: How long were you guys married?
- 18:31Speaker 3: Not very long.
- 18:32Speaker 1: We were probably together about seven years, but only married
- 18:35Speaker 1: a few years.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Well that's a pretty good amount of time.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I mean a lot of it was. It
- 18:42Speaker 1: took us a while to get divorced, but I think
- 18:46Speaker 1: by the time Ryan was probably two years old, we
- 18:50Speaker 1: were we were.
- 18:52Speaker 3: Separated, Oh my gosh.
- 18:53Speaker 1: And I moved back in with my mom. Right, Yeah,
- 18:56Speaker 1: then I've moved up. Then I moved back in.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Then I moved up.
- 18:59Speaker 2: So you guys live together quite often.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Yes, now in my older age, I move in with her,
- 19:05Speaker 1: I move out.
- 19:05Speaker 3: I moved back in.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Yeah, and she would live with my brother for a
- 19:08Speaker 1: little bit.
- 19:09Speaker 2: But TAM's your favorite kid to live with? Is she
- 19:13Speaker 2: your favorite in general?
- 19:14Speaker 3: Yes?
- 19:15Speaker 1: No, I'm not going to say that. Yes, all of
- 19:17Speaker 1: my kids are my favorite. No, they're not.
- 19:19Speaker 2: I you, I got you to do it.
- 19:22Speaker 3: My favorite kid is Ryan.
- 19:25Speaker 1: That's the truth.
- 19:26Speaker 3: That is the truth.
- 19:28Speaker 1: We would get into a fight. It was when Ryan
- 19:30Speaker 1: was younger, and I felt like she was enabling him
- 19:33Speaker 1: because it was oh poor Ryan, he'd get in trouble.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Oh Ryan, it's okay, It's okay. So yeah, but not anymore,
- 19:42Speaker 1: not anymore. She actually has ava every Thursday.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Now, she's my favorite.
- 19:47Speaker 1: She's here now.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Yeah, Well we've got my mom in the waiting room,
- 19:53Speaker 2: so Tam, you can have at her. So should we
- 19:56Speaker 2: bring in Vicky.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Any off limits? Uestian's Teddy?
- 20:03Speaker 2: I don't think so. I think it's all pretty I
- 20:07Speaker 2: think I'm a pretty open book until we hear her
- 20:10Speaker 2: start talking.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Okay, what.
- 20:25Speaker 2: So Mom, you're on with Sandy and Tamera.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Hi, Viki, how are you?
- 20:32Speaker 4: I'm good now.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Recently, recently Teddy told us that you had taken a
- 20:39Speaker 1: little fall at work, and there's so many supporters on
- 20:42Speaker 1: Instagram that were really like worried and rooting for you.
- 20:45Speaker 1: How are you feeling now?
- 20:47Speaker 9: I am feeling a lot better. I fell on October first,
- 20:52Speaker 9: and my eye, the sixth nerve that controls the eyes,
- 20:56Speaker 9: is what was damaged, and it's They told me that
- 21:02Speaker 9: I needed to be I needed to use a lot
- 21:04Speaker 9: of patients, that it would be nine months to a
- 21:07Speaker 9: year before the nerve regenerated, and I told them at
- 21:11Speaker 9: the time, I don't even know how to spell patients. Oh, Peter,
- 21:16Speaker 9: do I Now I've now crossed over the seven and
- 21:20Speaker 9: a half month mark, and where is my eye? Laid
- 21:24Speaker 9: at seventy five percent cross eye? The right eye late
- 21:27Speaker 9: seventy five percent cross eyed.
- 21:29Speaker 4: When it was resting until the six month mark.
- 21:33Speaker 9: Then it jumped to forty and now I'm at twelve percent.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Oh, you're getting better.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Yeah, it's you.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Great progress, great progress, that's awesome.
- 21:42Speaker 4: I'm excited.
- 21:43Speaker 1: So I need to know this is a million dollar question.
- 21:48Speaker 1: What was Teddy's like as a child? How was she?
- 21:51Speaker 1: Was she obedient?
- 21:53Speaker 3: Was she a wild child? What was she like?
- 21:58Speaker 9: She was not a trouble maker. He was a trouble
- 22:03Speaker 9: of voiter. Okay, So when you say obedient, sometimes, especially
- 22:10Speaker 9: in the teen years, if you'd say, well, Teddy's sure
- 22:13Speaker 9: you could have some friends over as long as you
- 22:15Speaker 9: promised to stay.
- 22:17Speaker 4: If they all get ready to leave.
- 22:18Speaker 9: Don't leave with them and help me clean the house.
- 22:20Speaker 9: You'd go, okay, mom, I promise, And then pretty soon
- 22:24Speaker 9: I'd be looking around and I couldn't find Teddy. She
- 22:27Speaker 9: was one of the first. She was one of the
- 22:29Speaker 9: first ones to go. But other than that, I mean,
- 22:33Speaker 9: of course I have to come up with something to
- 22:34Speaker 9: embarrass her, and that's as good as I can get.
- 22:37Speaker 4: But she was.
- 22:41Speaker 9: He was so dedicated and so committed to her writings
- 22:45Speaker 9: and you know, her equestrian activities, that she literally would
- 22:51Speaker 9: live at the barn. There were times I wondered if
- 22:53Speaker 9: I had a daughter named Teddy because I had seen
- 22:56Speaker 9: her for a few days.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Do you think that dedication you writing kept her out
- 23:01Speaker 1: of trouble?
- 23:03Speaker 4: I do think it did. I do think it.
- 23:05Speaker 9: Did? You know there were a lot of things that
- 23:07Speaker 9: she passed on because there was a horse show coming
- 23:11Speaker 9: up and she wanted to, you know, put in the
- 23:13Speaker 9: practice and put in the hours that she needed to
- 23:16Speaker 9: on that instead. And then I think she just knuck
- 23:19Speaker 9: a little bit of trouble in here and there she did.
- 23:23Speaker 1: But I know this is no shock to you, no surprise.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Teddy is a type a personality, right. Was she always outspoken?
- 23:36Speaker 9: I think Teddy was always She was always a performer.
- 23:40Speaker 4: She would always.
- 23:41Speaker 9: Perform things and keep keep the room laughing. And she
- 23:45Speaker 9: wanted to please people, and not in.
- 23:49Speaker 10: A bad way.
- 23:49Speaker 9: She preferred to keep things light and keep things entertaining.
- 23:55Speaker 9: And I was more of an emotional person, and I
- 24:00Speaker 9: think that's why sometimes her and I got a little
- 24:02Speaker 9: goofy because I'd want to talk about feelings and she'd
- 24:06Speaker 9: just want to do a dance.
- 24:09Speaker 2: I did not have any interest. There's things I have
- 24:11Speaker 2: no interest in. Phone calls, feelings, hugs, yep, yeah.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Pats on the back. Yeah. Teddy and I are a
- 24:21Speaker 1: lot alike in that sense, like we don't like to
- 24:24Speaker 1: talk about feelings. That's why we have a really great friendship.
- 24:30Speaker 9: Can I use this opportunity to sneak one in since
- 24:32Speaker 9: I've got back up. Oh God, yep, I want to
- 24:37Speaker 9: I just want to say, forty two years ago, my
- 24:40Speaker 9: father called me on Mother's Day and said Happy Mother's Day,
- 24:43Speaker 9: and I was pregnant with Teddy. She came about six
- 24:46Speaker 9: weeks later, and I literally sat in the chair that
- 24:51Speaker 9: I was sitting in and realized, for the first time
- 24:56Speaker 9: in my life, I could celebrate Mother's Day because.
- 25:01Speaker 4: I did not have that as a as a child.
- 25:03Speaker 9: And it's been like.
- 25:04Speaker 4: That ever since.
- 25:05Speaker 9: Okay, there, now I've said the emotional stuff and I've
- 25:08Speaker 9: got it out.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Well.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Mom, I think you're three for three with Sandy and Tam.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Were you pregnant with me when you were eighteen?
- 25:17Speaker 4: Towo? No?
- 25:20Speaker 3: How old were you?
- 25:20Speaker 4: I was twenty?
- 25:21Speaker 9: I was twenty one or twenty two when you were born?
- 25:23Speaker 9: Twenty two when you were born?
- 25:25Speaker 2: But then when'd you marry Dad.
- 25:27Speaker 4: That same year?
- 25:28Speaker 9: But I lived with him for two years prior.
- 25:30Speaker 2: To you being Okay, so you are a teen, then
- 25:33Speaker 2: I was.
- 25:33Speaker 9: I met your dad when I was nineteen.
- 25:35Speaker 2: At the Rainbow Room.
- 25:38Speaker 9: No, at a dinner at a restaurant.
- 25:41Speaker 4: I think it was.
- 25:43Speaker 9: Dantana's or yeah, I think it was Dantana's.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah it was.
- 25:48Speaker 9: It was a secret blind date.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Wow, well a secret because he was still married.
- 25:54Speaker 9: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 25:57Speaker 10: I didn't find that.
- 25:57Speaker 4: I didn't find that out for a few months either.
- 26:01Speaker 2: But then you drove Indiana and your and yeah, what
- 26:04Speaker 2: was that a v W buss?
- 26:06Speaker 9: No, but Chevy love truck with partial Yeah, so fine,
- 26:13Speaker 9: it's fine.
- 26:14Speaker 1: What was it like being married to John Mellencamp.
- 26:19Speaker 9: When I married John? You know, because I grew up
- 26:21Speaker 9: out there in California when I met him, the thing
- 26:24Speaker 9: that actually endeared me to him was he wasn't all
- 26:28Speaker 9: and I don't mean to be offensive in any way,
- 26:31Speaker 9: but he wasn't all sunglasses and you know.
- 26:35Speaker 4: Dinner reservation.
- 26:36Speaker 9: He was this Indiana boy, and we had enough of
- 26:40Speaker 9: that lifestyle intermingled with the beginning of his career that
- 26:47Speaker 9: that's that's that was.
- 26:48Speaker 10: A good part.
- 26:49Speaker 9: Those were the good years, really good years.
- 26:52Speaker 4: He's he was a lot of fun.
- 26:55Speaker 1: There we go, She's like, and that's where we're gonna
- 26:59Speaker 1: end it, right to the what did you think Teddy
- 27:02Speaker 1: would grow up to be?
- 27:05Speaker 9: I thought she'd be an equestri in her whole life
- 27:07Speaker 9: and she still kind of is, isn't she.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, did you think that she would get into
- 27:12Speaker 1: the entertainment business at all?
- 27:15Speaker 10: I didn't.
- 27:16Speaker 4: I didn't, you know what.
- 27:17Speaker 9: I didn't see it coming. And when Teddy was making
- 27:21Speaker 9: plans to move to Los Angeles, I was the last
- 27:24Speaker 9: one to find out. And I look back on that
- 27:28Speaker 9: now and I realized that was probably Teddy's way of
- 27:31Speaker 9: avoiding an emotional situation, because I probably would have been
- 27:37Speaker 9: begging her not to do that, you know, just like then,
- 27:40Speaker 9: we'll stick with the horses, you.
- 27:41Speaker 4: Know, we'll sell the house. Let's do what we could do.
- 27:44Speaker 4: But that would have been.
- 27:46Speaker 9: Holding her down and holding her back, and she wasn't
- 27:48Speaker 9: about to let anyone do that, you know. So I'm
- 27:51Speaker 9: proud of what she's done.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Others, Yeah, she's done a lot, and she's probably, i mean,
- 27:56Speaker 1: the most driven girl besides myself that I know. Like
- 28:00Speaker 1: she that's I mean, we have a lot of things
- 28:02Speaker 1: in common, but that's one of it. She she doesn't
- 28:04Speaker 1: have to work as hard as she does, and she
- 28:07Speaker 1: does all the time.
- 28:08Speaker 3: And I admire that.
- 28:09Speaker 4: I know.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Now, I have heard Teddy sing many times, and I
- 28:15Speaker 1: constantly tell her you have a great voice. Did you
- 28:19Speaker 1: ever think that she was going to pursue pursue a
- 28:21Speaker 1: career in the music industry.
- 28:25Speaker 9: When she did that demo of it, she did yeah
- 28:29Speaker 9: and was and was interested in it. I understood why
- 28:32Speaker 9: she would be. I mean, she grew up in recording
- 28:36Speaker 9: studios and on the side of the stage with you know,
- 28:38Speaker 9: with her little sister too, and I understood it. But
- 28:44Speaker 9: I think if I would have had any any emotions
- 28:46Speaker 9: on it, it would have been I would have worried
- 28:49Speaker 9: that she would have had a really tough row to,
- 28:52Speaker 9: you know, to hope with people judging her on writing
- 28:58Speaker 9: on her father's shirt tails and says like that that
- 29:01Speaker 9: mayor you know that that.
- 29:03Speaker 4: I now read some of her Instagram stuff and think what.
- 29:08Speaker 9: I don't know why I would have ever thought that, But.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Do you so, do you go into Teddy's Instagram and
- 29:14Speaker 1: read messages because my view, okay, okay, that's my question, Teddy. So,
- 29:21Speaker 1: my mom in the past has done that, and she's
- 29:24Speaker 1: got into arguments with fans that are saying not so
- 29:27Speaker 1: nice things about me. Have you done that?
- 29:29Speaker 4: Yes, yes, I have done it.
- 29:32Speaker 9: Teddy has has forbidden me to do it anymore.
- 29:35Speaker 4: But I did just I.
- 29:37Speaker 9: Did just get into a little nappy with somebody. But
- 29:41Speaker 9: it wasn't on Teddy's Instagram. It was on John Mellencamp's
- 29:45Speaker 9: fan page, where people were criticizing the way Teddy.
- 29:48Speaker 4: And John were posed in a picture.
- 29:51Speaker 9: And I got very I got very angry, wow, and
- 29:55Speaker 9: I deleted. I deleted it.
- 29:57Speaker 1: Oh so you're posting delete person? Okay, okay.
- 30:02Speaker 9: I posted it, left it there for three days. The
- 30:05Speaker 9: administrator called and apologized profusely, and I thought, okay.
- 30:09Speaker 4: Enough for that, and I took it off.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Well, you know what, if my daughter was on TV,
- 30:14Speaker 1: I think that I would probably do the same thing.
- 30:17Speaker 3: I would.
- 30:18Speaker 1: I think that I would make comments, especially when people
- 30:22Speaker 1: are so mean on Instagram or on social media in general.
- 30:25Speaker 1: It's really hard to watch that, and Teddy gets them
- 30:28Speaker 1: and we all get our hate, but Teddy Teddy gets
- 30:31Speaker 1: some a fair share, which I don't understand at all.
- 30:34Speaker 1: A lot of people don't. But that post that was
- 30:36Speaker 1: done with you and your dad, somebody recently posted it.
- 30:39Speaker 1: I think it was reality blurb, and so I started
- 30:41Speaker 1: reading the comments because I saw nothing wrong with that picture.
- 30:45Speaker 1: So Mom Teddy took a picture with her dad. Teddy
- 30:47Speaker 1: explained that she had a he had a white t
- 30:49Speaker 1: shirt on and he didn't feel like dressy enough or something,
- 30:52Speaker 1: so she put her leg up trying to block him.
- 30:54Speaker 1: And people are like, that's an inappropriate picture your father.
- 31:00Speaker 1: But you weren't happening your father, you know, the debt
- 31:02Speaker 1: perception with cameras is hard to see. It's like your
- 31:06Speaker 1: leg was wrapped around him. But a lot of the
- 31:09Speaker 1: people were in support of you, Teddy, and they were saying,
- 31:11Speaker 1: this is ridiculous. That's her dad. You guys, if you're
- 31:14Speaker 1: thinking that, then that's your problem. That's a you problem.
- 31:17Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 31:18Speaker 1: And also and not for nothing.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I did think, oh gosh, that is gonna look
- 31:22Speaker 2: a little funny. But there was no way I would
- 31:25Speaker 2: get another picture with my dad.
- 31:27Speaker 4: Mom.
- 31:27Speaker 2: How much does dad like taking pictures?
- 31:30Speaker 4: Yeah, come on, take another one, dad.
- 31:32Speaker 2: She would have been like, golf yourself. I just took one,
- 31:37Speaker 2: my bellies not showing we looked good. There's absolutely no
- 31:43Speaker 2: way I'm getting another picture. So they're just gonna have
- 31:45Speaker 2: to deal with that, because I like, my mom just
- 31:47Speaker 2: came and we took nice pictures together. I like to
- 31:50Speaker 2: have photos because I don't know if Mom am I
- 31:52Speaker 2: allowed to share this, but we we had some like
- 31:57Speaker 2: financial hardships growing up, and my mom had a storage unit,
- 32:02Speaker 2: and inside that storage unit, we're all am I saying
- 32:05Speaker 2: this right, Mom, all of our photo albums and all
- 32:10Speaker 2: of our well.
- 32:11Speaker 9: I still have a lot of photo albums, but yes,
- 32:13Speaker 9: there were a lot of your childhood.
- 32:16Speaker 4: Things in there.
- 32:17Speaker 9: And it was a scam artist that they came in
- 32:20Speaker 9: and closed down the storage unit and sold off all
- 32:24Speaker 9: my stuff.
- 32:24Speaker 4: So I had the opportunity to.
- 32:27Speaker 9: Buy it back, but at that time, financially, I was
- 32:31Speaker 9: not set up to do that. So I said, have
- 32:34Speaker 9: fun with all that, with all those moldy because I
- 32:37Speaker 9: never threw anything away when my kids were growing up.
- 32:43Speaker 4: So yeah, if I had a place to store it,
- 32:44Speaker 4: I stored it.
- 32:45Speaker 9: And I think I had every single piece of Teddy's
- 32:50Speaker 9: artwork from the time she was in Montessori school to
- 32:54Speaker 9: senior in high school. You know, so all that's out
- 32:58Speaker 9: there somewhere.
- 33:00Speaker 1: That's a bomber because you can't replace those. Now, when
- 33:02Speaker 1: you found out Teddy is going to be on the
- 33:04Speaker 1: Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, what was your initial reaction?
- 33:08Speaker 1: Were you for it or against it? Are scared?
- 33:12Speaker 4: Well?
- 33:12Speaker 9: My initial reaction because I kind of I mean, I
- 33:16Speaker 9: remember Marathon watching what was that Top Top Model you
- 33:20Speaker 9: and I'd been.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, America, because I always love the competition shows
- 33:23Speaker 2: like America's Next Top Model, American Idol, Bachelor, those types
- 33:27Speaker 2: of shows.
- 33:28Speaker 9: So I don't know that I was, you know, one
- 33:32Speaker 9: schooled on the Real Housewives franchise or you know those shows.
- 33:37Speaker 9: So when I first heard about it, I then watched
- 33:40Speaker 9: a few episodes because some of my friends and some
- 33:42Speaker 9: of my customers in the restaurant I worked at at
- 33:45Speaker 9: the time were telling me how excited they were that
- 33:48Speaker 9: Teddy was going to be on the show and it's
- 33:49Speaker 9: their favorite show, and so I then started watching it.
- 33:54Speaker 9: Then my initial reaction.
- 33:57Speaker 4: Was, oh god, oh god, yeah, I bet this.
- 34:04Speaker 10: Is gonna be scary.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Is there any moment on the show that you watched
- 34:18Speaker 1: her that you were like, Oh, Teddy, why did you
- 34:21Speaker 1: do that?
- 34:22Speaker 9: Not really, not really, I think you know it's it's
- 34:26Speaker 9: she's she's a grown woman, but she's my little girl,
- 34:31Speaker 9: you know. And I'm sure there were parts where I
- 34:34Speaker 9: knew the vultures were going.
- 34:36Speaker 4: To come out because of.
- 34:37Speaker 9: Something said or done, and I'd be like, oh god, Jeddy,
- 34:40Speaker 9: oh what was the one Molisa you know I was
- 34:46Speaker 9: worried about Molisa showing up and.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Oh that was that. When I was younger, my alter,
- 34:52Speaker 2: my mean alter ego was Mosha.
- 34:55Speaker 1: And everyone have a mean alter ego.
- 34:58Speaker 9: Uh huh.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Everybody would be like, oh, no, so Mo's coming out,
- 35:01Speaker 2: and I'm.
- 35:01Speaker 6: Like, if MO was mean as a snake, oh great,
- 35:10Speaker 6: But I never I was never.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Mo on the show.
- 35:14Speaker 9: No, I know. And I did watch every episode that
- 35:18Speaker 9: Teddy was in I dB artist, and I would always say, oh,
- 35:22Speaker 9: I'll watch it tomorrow during the day when I can wait.
- 35:25Speaker 4: No, I didn't.
- 35:26Speaker 9: If it didn't matter if I got home at eleven
- 35:28Speaker 9: thirty at night or whatever, I'd still get through the
- 35:31Speaker 9: episode before going to bed.
- 35:33Speaker 1: So yeah, if if Bravo was to have a Real
- 35:40Speaker 1: Mom's of Housewives, how can I say that the Real
- 35:45Speaker 1: Housewife Moms?
- 35:46Speaker 2: Let's say that.
- 35:46Speaker 1: So if Bravo was to have a show called the
- 35:49Speaker 1: Real Moms of the Housewives, let's say it's an Ultimate
- 35:52Speaker 1: Girls trip and they take some of the most iconic
- 35:54Speaker 1: moms on the show, put them in an island or
- 35:58Speaker 1: some fancy hotel. Would you guys sign up for that?
- 36:02Speaker 3: I would?
- 36:03Speaker 9: I would have. I would if I could do the
- 36:05Speaker 9: all in my teddy for about six months ahead of time.
- 36:13Speaker 3: I think that would be a great idea.
- 36:15Speaker 4: I got some work to do. All this patience has
- 36:18Speaker 4: put on the pounds a little bit.
- 36:21Speaker 2: We actually were supposed to my mom never filmed with me.
- 36:24Speaker 2: We were supposed to film together. I was going to
- 36:26Speaker 2: go back to Hilton Head where I grew up, and
- 36:30Speaker 2: they were going to film my baby shower, and we
- 36:32Speaker 2: were going to meet my mom and my sister. Because
- 36:34Speaker 2: you have to realize they never saw any of my family.
- 36:36Speaker 1: I know, and.
- 36:40Speaker 2: My mom has bipolar disorder, and producers knew that, and
- 36:46Speaker 2: they wanted us to talk about it, and my mom
- 36:49Speaker 2: had agreed to it. I had agreed to it. We
- 36:52Speaker 2: thought that it would be a good way to bring
- 36:55Speaker 2: awareness to it because we didn't realize that she had
- 36:58Speaker 2: it for a really long time. And then actually my
- 37:01Speaker 2: dad stepped in and said, I think this is a
- 37:03Speaker 2: bad idea, you guys. I think that's too personal of
- 37:06Speaker 2: stuff to share. And and then yeah, I got.
- 37:09Speaker 9: I got the I got the phone call from John
- 37:12Speaker 9: and he said, VICKI there, you know you don't need this,
- 37:14Speaker 9: and I went, yeah, maybe I don't.
- 37:17Speaker 1: So yeah, now, looking back, do you wish you would have,
- 37:25Speaker 1: You know, No, I don't.
- 37:26Speaker 9: I don't look at I don't look at it as
- 37:28Speaker 9: a terrible missed opportunity. I may not have been at
- 37:34Speaker 9: the time, and yeah, it could have been fun and
- 37:38Speaker 9: I missed, you know, I miss out any opportunity. I
- 37:41Speaker 9: miss out on being with Teddy and her and her
- 37:43Speaker 9: kids and Needlin. You know, I pine over for a
- 37:47Speaker 9: moment or two or more.
- 37:49Speaker 2: But uh, but she's learned to stop being emotional with
- 37:52Speaker 2: me about it, which is good.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Now you have if you were diagnosed with a bipologist
- 38:00Speaker 1: and Teddy has been diagnosed with OCD, do you guys
- 38:04Speaker 1: talk about mental health to each other.
- 38:08Speaker 9: I probably don't talk to Teddy much about it because
- 38:11Speaker 9: A she'd have to talk on the phone, be it
- 38:15Speaker 9: probably get emotional. She doesn't want that, and she I
- 38:19Speaker 9: don't know how much she'd want to hear from me
- 38:22Speaker 9: on the topic, knowing some of my ups and downs
- 38:27Speaker 9: over the years. And I don't know if it would
- 38:30Speaker 9: feel like, really, mom, you're talking to me about this.
- 38:34Speaker 3: So yeah, but I.
- 38:35Speaker 1: Feel like she can learn from you, like my mom
- 38:38Speaker 1: grew up. My grandmother was schizophrenic and she was hospitalized
- 38:42Speaker 1: for for many many years and knowing that, I mean,
- 38:47Speaker 1: she was a fabulous grandmother. Fabulous and you know, my
- 38:51Speaker 1: mom had she had my mom later in life, and
- 38:55Speaker 1: my grandmother was back then, you know, they put him
- 38:58Speaker 1: in the mental hospital and gave him shocked he ments
- 39:00Speaker 1: things like that. So she go without her mom around
- 39:03Speaker 1: most of the time. She was raised by her older sister.
- 39:06Speaker 1: And for me, you know, I knew that at a
- 39:09Speaker 1: young age and love my grandmother. Always worried for my kids.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Is this something that's gonna because they say sometimes it
- 39:17Speaker 1: skips a generation. And now I have one daughter that
- 39:21Speaker 1: has OCD and bad anxiety and things like that. And
- 39:25Speaker 1: I just feel like mental health today, before it was
- 39:29Speaker 1: just kept so quiet and we never talked about it.
- 39:31Speaker 1: And I think that the more we talk about it
- 39:33Speaker 1: and make it public, people will feel, you know, they
- 39:36Speaker 1: will relate to that and feel at home and feel like,
- 39:39Speaker 1: you know what, I'm not the only one in this
- 39:41Speaker 1: world dealing with it.
- 39:42Speaker 2: And I think that when my mom and I are
- 39:45Speaker 2: the closest, And I think that something people don't often
- 39:48Speaker 2: talk about when it comes to mental health is when
- 39:50Speaker 2: you're feeling good and you're you know, you've been medicated
- 39:53Speaker 2: and you're in therapy and things are good, then all
- 39:56Speaker 2: of a sudden you think I don't need to be
- 39:58Speaker 2: on the medication anymore, I don't need to be going
- 40:01Speaker 2: to therapy, or I don't need to be doing these things.
- 40:02Speaker 2: And I've done the same thing with me, you know,
- 40:05Speaker 2: with my anxiety. And so for me, my big priority
- 40:11Speaker 2: for my mom and for our relationship is that she
- 40:14Speaker 2: stays consistent on what's making her feel the best and
- 40:20Speaker 2: and and the times that she hasn't, that's where and
- 40:23Speaker 2: because I'm not great at sharing my feelings instead of
- 40:26Speaker 2: telling her like I love you, and that scares me,
- 40:29Speaker 2: and you know, I want you to do this because
- 40:33Speaker 2: I want you to feel good. I then just get
- 40:36Speaker 2: kind of mean, like I pull away, like my way
- 40:40Speaker 2: of not stern, but stern, like I just am like, fine,
- 40:44Speaker 2: if you're not gonna, if you're going to go off
- 40:45Speaker 2: the medication, then I'm not talking to you. Like I'm
- 40:48Speaker 2: very and I regret some of you know, I'm in
- 40:51Speaker 2: therapy myself, and I regret some.
- 40:54Speaker 4: You know.
- 40:54Speaker 2: When Mom had her fall and then she got really
- 40:57Speaker 2: sick afterwards too, I was like, holy ship, like you're
- 41:01Speaker 2: a mess. I was such a mess. And I was like,
- 41:03Speaker 2: there are times that like I could have been there
- 41:06Speaker 2: for my mom and been more loving towards her and
- 41:09Speaker 2: more understanding to how she was feeling, and I just
- 41:13Speaker 2: refused because I was stubborn.
- 41:15Speaker 1: I think also the distance of dream you guys too,
- 41:18Speaker 1: you not being able to see her all the time
- 41:20Speaker 1: to you know, physically check out. Yeah, that's got to
- 41:24Speaker 1: be hard.
- 41:26Speaker 4: Now.
- 41:26Speaker 1: I know we're running in time. But there's been a
- 41:28Speaker 1: lot of request for your special pounded chicken recipe if.
- 41:35Speaker 9: I were to make that public, and he wouldn't flend
- 41:38Speaker 9: me up to California again because.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Now you have to tell them it is so good,
- 41:44Speaker 2: But you have to tell them the specifics because I
- 41:46Speaker 2: am such a weirdo about chicken. I like, I will
- 41:50Speaker 2: never eat chicken out ever. At Like, I have major
- 41:54Speaker 2: issues surrounding chicken. The dirty it's dirty.
- 41:56Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, but I'll tell you real quick. You get that.
- 41:59Speaker 9: You get the chicken tender You know that, the packets
- 42:02Speaker 9: that's boneless, and it's like the tenderlin, the tenderloins, whatever
- 42:06Speaker 9: you take them up, you cut it. You make sure
- 42:08Speaker 9: that they're all somewhat similar in size, otherwise they don't
- 42:12Speaker 9: cook up right, you pound them out with.
- 42:15Speaker 4: Wax paper like I put wax.
- 42:17Speaker 9: Paper underneath it on top, and pound them out to
- 42:20Speaker 9: very thin, thin, thin cutlets. Now, if Teddy's eating at
- 42:24Speaker 9: your house, you then get a very sharp knife and
- 42:27Speaker 9: make sure you've removed any blood, vessels or veins or
- 42:33Speaker 9: in the newly parts of the chicken, because if Teddy
- 42:37Speaker 9: bites into something like that.
- 42:38Speaker 4: It's over, okay.
- 42:40Speaker 9: So then you I refrige, I refrigerator them overnight, you
- 42:44Speaker 9: have to. That helps with the process, I believe. Then
- 42:48Speaker 9: the next day, in an egg milk bath, you know,
- 42:52Speaker 9: dip each one, then roll it and pack it full
- 42:57Speaker 9: of of you know, real a thick coating of progressive
- 43:02Speaker 9: Italian seasoning.
- 43:04Speaker 2: It's very healthy all in, but I can't.
- 43:08Speaker 1: And then again, if you fry it for Teddy's all in,
- 43:12Speaker 1: do you fry it or bacon?
- 43:15Speaker 9: Well, that's for Teddy's all in family. I'm sorry, but
- 43:19Speaker 9: this is the one one thing she does is.
- 43:22Speaker 4: Enjoyed this meal.
- 43:23Speaker 9: Once in a while, I fry it.
- 43:25Speaker 2: And then mashed potatoes, green bean potatoes or asparagus.
- 43:31Speaker 9: Asparagus is always a good one.
- 43:33Speaker 4: And then it's some big caesar salad.
- 43:35Speaker 9: A huge caeesar salad and lots of lemon. Lots of lemon.
- 43:39Speaker 9: You squeeze lots of lemon on your cutlets.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Oh, I love that.
- 43:42Speaker 1: And your recent trip to Los Angeles to stave Teddy.
- 43:46Speaker 1: You made that meal, right, I did.
- 43:49Speaker 4: I made thirty eight pieces of chicken.
- 43:51Speaker 2: It's a non negotiable. If she's coming, we're having that meal.
- 43:55Speaker 2: And my husband's obsessed with that, my kids are obsessed
- 43:58Speaker 2: with that. It's like and I don't know, I just
- 44:01Speaker 2: that meal gives me comfort because like when I was little,
- 44:04Speaker 2: I was such a picky eater that my mom would
- 44:09Speaker 2: sit down and I'd say, I am not eating that,
- 44:11Speaker 2: Like if if there was fish in it, if there's this,
- 44:13Speaker 2: I was like, I don't want it. So she would
- 44:15Speaker 2: put down this cow's tongue and what was the other thing, Mom,
- 44:20Speaker 2: cow's tongue and paste, and she would set it on
- 44:24Speaker 2: the table in front of me and she'd go, you're
- 44:26Speaker 2: either going to try what I cooked for dinner or
- 44:29Speaker 2: you're going to eat that. And I would just sit
- 44:32Speaker 2: at the table for hours.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Well, my mom used to try. My mom and dad
- 44:36Speaker 1: used trying to make me eat peas to this day,
- 44:38Speaker 1: will not eat peas. I can't even stand the smell
- 44:41Speaker 1: of them. And then she'd always make me do the dishes,
- 44:44Speaker 1: which to this day I hate doing the dishes. But
- 44:47Speaker 1: my dad liked weird food. My dad liked frog's legs.
- 44:54Speaker 3: Yes, rabbit, fried rabbit, fried rabbit.
- 44:58Speaker 5: I mean one time we had boxtails and beans, just
- 45:03Speaker 5: oh yum.
- 45:05Speaker 1: And then one time we got stuck with these chickens
- 45:08Speaker 1: in our backyard and they were mean. I think they're
- 45:13Speaker 1: roosters right there. They were mean. They would like, we
- 45:16Speaker 1: run to the place at and they'd come and scratch us.
- 45:18Speaker 1: So my dad one day got the axe and snapped
- 45:21Speaker 1: their head off. Oh then cook dumb, cooked dumb, and
- 45:27Speaker 1: they were tough.
- 45:28Speaker 3: They were tough.
- 45:29Speaker 2: And I'm like, well, mom, and clothing, you have to
- 45:32Speaker 2: tell the story of when I became a vegetarian.
- 45:37Speaker 4: Oh yes, okay.
- 45:38Speaker 9: So Teddy's dad and I are sitting at the kitchen table.
- 45:42Speaker 9: Teddy's in the other room. She's watching Nicky Mouser side.
- 45:46Speaker 4: Remember the baby cants.
- 45:48Speaker 9: Yeah, the Mouser size exercise program and that girl wore
- 45:52Speaker 9: the little wrist bracelets, the headband, the ankle socks, all
- 45:58Speaker 9: squished down.
- 45:59Speaker 4: Whatever.
- 46:00Speaker 9: So Teddy had the whole outfit on and was in
- 46:02Speaker 9: the other room mouseur sizing.
- 46:04Speaker 1: And she's still mouseizing to this day.
- 46:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 46:08Speaker 9: Well, she comes struttened by John and I and she
- 46:11Speaker 9: had attitudes. She had the little butt going and walking
- 46:15Speaker 9: straight over to the big sub zero fridge that she
- 46:17Speaker 9: could barely open, and she opens it up, and she
- 46:21Speaker 9: had previously told me that she was a vegetarian from
- 46:24Speaker 9: now on, right, But then she walks right past us,
- 46:30Speaker 9: patting her brow with her little ankle band like because
- 46:34Speaker 9: she's worked up such a sweat moutracizing, and she opens
- 46:38Speaker 9: up the refrigerator and pulls out a slice of blowney
- 46:43Speaker 9: Oscar Meyer bologney. Okay, rolls it up and is taking
- 46:47Speaker 9: bites of it.
- 46:47Speaker 4: As she walks back by us, and John looks at
- 46:51Speaker 4: me and goes, I thought she said she was a vegetarian.
- 46:53Speaker 4: Now she did, And so then she.
- 46:57Speaker 9: Comes back through about ten minutes later, it starts to
- 47:00Speaker 9: walk by us again, and she opens up the fridge again,
- 47:04Speaker 9: opens up the deli drawer, pulls out another slice of balogney,
- 47:08Speaker 9: and John Listener goes, hey, Teddy, how's that vegetarian thing
- 47:13Speaker 9: working out for you?
- 47:14Speaker 4: And she said pretty good.
- 47:16Speaker 10: I like to be a vegetarian.
- 47:18Speaker 4: Walks away e.
- 47:23Speaker 3: God so pretty much.
- 47:24Speaker 2: I've always been full of ship.
- 47:28Speaker 1: Yeah, sounds about right.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Well, thank you guys, Thank you mom so much for
- 47:33Speaker 2: joining us.
- 47:35Speaker 1: Yes, and Happy Mother's Day.
- 47:36Speaker 2: Happy Mother's Day, you guys, thank you, thank.
- 47:39Speaker 9: You, Happy Mother's Thank you to all.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Of you, all of
- 47:48Speaker 2: Yours all right, bye bye
