- 0:00Speaker 1: Stacy's Mom has got it going on. It's one more thing.
- 0:04Speaker 1: I'm strong Andy, one more thing.
- 0:10Speaker 2: I'm a great fan of that. Fountains of Wayne pop trifle,
- 0:14Speaker 2: can't wait to hear Mom.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Fountains of Wayne are awesome. But the main guy died
- 0:18Speaker 1: from COVID right when COVID hit the guitar player. Yeah
- 0:22Speaker 1: that sucks, Yeah it does. He was a young man too.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Before we get to something related to the song Stacy's
- 0:32Speaker 1: Mom and Fountains of Wayne, which is a humor based
- 0:38Speaker 1: I came across this headline. These twenty three classic baby
- 0:41Speaker 1: names are facing extinction in the US. They're about to
- 0:44Speaker 1: fall off the list completely, so somebody'd have to go
- 0:46Speaker 1: out of their way to bring them back.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I guess.
- 0:49Speaker 1: I mean, you can't make a name extinct. I mean,
- 0:51Speaker 1: see Elon Musk. You can name your kid anything you want.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Nobody can stop you. Sure, But the names that are
- 0:57Speaker 1: about to fall off the list, and these used to be.
- 1:00Speaker 2: If that reminds me, I'm sorry. Before you get to that,
- 1:04Speaker 2: can I say this, Well, of course I can say this.
- 1:08Speaker 2: A friend who I work with, his wife is an obstetrician.
- 1:14Speaker 2: That's when you look at women's you who's well, that's
- 1:19Speaker 2: one way to put it. Yes, you deal with the
- 1:21Speaker 2: reproductive parts of ladies. Yes, thank you. I'm so glad
- 1:27Speaker 2: you're here, Katie, because you can say that. And the
- 1:33Speaker 2: stories she has heard amaze and the tattoos she has seen,
- 1:40Speaker 2: oh what, including one one woman? I think I can
- 1:46Speaker 2: tell his story.
- 1:47Speaker 3: I'm sure you can.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Should I though, oh man, not want to get him
- 1:52Speaker 2: in trust.
- 1:53Speaker 1: So we're talking about tattoos on the you.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Who, oh my god, or in the you who will region.
- 1:58Speaker 3: The sympathy pain I'm right now is.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Sign did even without the pain, just as a lifestyle choice, right,
- 2:08Speaker 1: and sometimes it's just in the suburbs but not in
- 2:11Speaker 1: the city center.
- 2:12Speaker 2: But uh, can I say this? You know what? I
- 2:17Speaker 2: can't say it. I'm gonna make this up completely. This
- 2:20Speaker 2: is Joe Geddy lying and creating fiction that is in
- 2:24Speaker 2: no way based on any truth ever spoken by anybody.
- 2:29Speaker 2: One gal who is well on in years, had a
- 2:32Speaker 2: boxing glove to either side and the caption hit it
- 2:38Speaker 2: like a champ.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Oh no, oh my god, Now didn't it appear? Was
- 2:45Speaker 1: the was the tattoo saggy like her age like she'd
- 2:49Speaker 1: gotten no whe who younger? Did she get it like
- 2:51Speaker 1: when she was in her golden ears.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Too busy laughing at this conversation that never took place
- 2:57Speaker 2: to follow up with any questions.
- 2:59Speaker 1: It's like, am so then you have to think as
- 3:03Speaker 1: a dude or a woman. I guess if she's a lesbian.
- 3:07Speaker 1: But your first you know, you become intimate after months
- 3:11Speaker 1: of dating and courting and then of course marriage, you decide.
- 3:15Speaker 2: To decide you love each other very much.
- 3:16Speaker 1: You decide to become intimate, and this is the first
- 3:19Speaker 1: time you become aware of your the love of your life. Uh,
- 3:24Speaker 1: having it to too, that's hit it like a champ.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Unless that tattoo is like a week old.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna have questions.
- 3:33Speaker 3: It's just reeks of class, you know.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Yeah, what do am I? Hm? How disturbed am I
- 3:39Speaker 1: at that point? Am I thinking? Eh, maybe not? Or
- 3:44Speaker 1: you're not who I thought you were?
- 3:45Speaker 2: Or and yesked, Michael, do you bring a boxing bell
- 3:49Speaker 2: to bed'll get ready?
- 3:53Speaker 1: Yeah? You do that whole round?
- 3:54Speaker 2: What was that a statement of kind of general principle
- 3:58Speaker 2: or was that like a specific message to a lover
- 4:02Speaker 2: of her past? I would have questions? So, baby, I
- 4:09Speaker 2: can't help but notice you've I'm going at a whole
- 4:13Speaker 2: set of to two.
- 4:14Speaker 1: That's my goal, regardless of your signage anyway, Right.
- 4:19Speaker 3: You didn't, I don't tell me to do that, right.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Right, exactly. It's extraneous motivation.
- 4:25Speaker 3: This is reminding me that's.
- 4:26Speaker 1: My general practice.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Right, This is reminding me of one of the funniest things.
- 4:31Speaker 4: So my mother got a tattoo for her fiftieth birthday
- 4:34Speaker 4: and it is a dolphin that is jumping over a shamrock.
- 4:37Speaker 4: And her big line was like, yeah, in fifteen years,
- 4:41Speaker 4: it'll be an eel stuck in a pine tree.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Wow.
- 4:47Speaker 2: The comedy stylings of Katie's mom, she's fantastic.
- 4:54Speaker 1: So does this where were we?
- 4:56Speaker 5: So?
- 4:56Speaker 1: Does this made up? Doctor?
- 4:59Speaker 2: Yes?
- 5:00Speaker 1: Find a way to I just need to check my
- 5:02Speaker 1: messages real quick, and then you kind of lean your
- 5:04Speaker 1: phone this way, quick turn the sound off again.
- 5:08Speaker 2: No time for follow ups because I was laughing too much.
- 5:10Speaker 1: You'd want a picture of that.
- 5:12Speaker 2: And then the list of names she has to sign,
- 5:16Speaker 2: the birth certificate that people give their kids, many of
- 5:20Speaker 2: them ill considered.
- 5:22Speaker 1: But moving speaking of names, these baby names are facing extinction,
- 5:28Speaker 1: just a couple of them that are about to fall
- 5:29Speaker 1: off the list. So if you're about to have a kid,
- 5:31Speaker 1: keep these names alive. Name your girl Kathy. I have
- 5:34Speaker 1: a cousin named Kathy, perfectly nice name for people our age.
- 5:38Speaker 1: But nobody's naming their kid dad anymore. If I had
- 5:40Speaker 1: friends and they had a baby, Oh she's cute, what's
- 5:43Speaker 1: her name, Kathy? I think that's interesting, nothing wrong with it.
- 5:47Speaker 1: But al is headed out the door. Bess Bess Verne,
- 5:57Speaker 1: and Wally vern is a good name.
- 6:02Speaker 3: It's stuck on Bess.
- 6:03Speaker 1: It's interesting that it goes. It's just it's just like
- 6:08Speaker 1: my son and I were talking about this with cars
- 6:10Speaker 1: the other day, with how you know a ten year
- 6:15Speaker 1: old car is that it's like lowest peak of value
- 6:17Speaker 1: ten to fifteen years or something like that, and then
- 6:19Speaker 1: you get to like twenty thirty years and you wish
- 6:21Speaker 1: you'd have kept it because it's like seems cool now,
- 6:23Speaker 1: you know. So it is just that whole thing, and
- 6:25Speaker 1: names do that, obviously, because names between forty six, nineteen
- 6:31Speaker 1: forty six and nineteen sixty four are dropping off the list.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Names previous to forty six, as we all know, are
- 6:37Speaker 1: starting to make a comeback, like the re early nineteen hundreds,
- 6:40Speaker 1: Old timy names I've made it. Yeah, yesture, all right,
- 6:44Speaker 1: and it's just they come and go out of fashion
- 6:46Speaker 1: and then, you know, so it doesn't mean anything. But
- 6:53Speaker 1: yeah again, I have friends and they have a baby
- 6:56Speaker 1: and they say we named her best.
- 6:58Speaker 4: They've all been replaced by Aiden's and Braden's and right.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Right, and of course the Irish form of Catherine Caitlin
- 7:06Speaker 2: and Judy and I knew nobody who named their kid
- 7:08Speaker 2: Caitlin when we named our kid Caitlyn, and then it
- 7:11Speaker 2: became like the most popular name on earth.
- 7:14Speaker 4: And I frequently get asked if I'm a Kathy when
- 7:16Speaker 4: I tell people that, you know, if I introduce, if
- 7:18Speaker 4: I'm doing something like official, and I'll say, oh, you know,
- 7:20Speaker 4: my name is Caitlyn.
- 7:21Speaker 3: I'll be like, oh, Kathy. I've had that happen more
- 7:24Speaker 3: times than once.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I don't know. So this song, do enough people know
- 7:30Speaker 1: the original song for this to be enjoy I guess
- 7:32Speaker 1: we're assuming. So yeah, it was a big hit.
- 7:34Speaker 2: And if you don't, you know, grab it, listen to it.
- 7:37Speaker 2: It was a catchy.
- 7:37Speaker 1: It was about a kid going over to his friend's
- 7:39Speaker 1: house and he recognizes that his friend's mom is kind
- 7:44Speaker 1: of hot, and he wishes he could get with her.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Well, yeah, specifically he's going over to his girlfriend's house
- 7:49Speaker 2: thinking I don't want to be with you, I want
- 7:51Speaker 2: to be with your mom.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Sordid and so we've got that. I haven't heard this
- 7:56Speaker 1: thing any other setup required, Katie.
- 7:59Speaker 4: This is it's basically talking about how now that we're older,
- 8:01Speaker 4: this song.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Is okay, gotcha?
- 8:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:05Speaker 5: I have so many questions now for Stacy's mom. Stacy's mom, like,
- 8:13Speaker 5: why did she come out with just.
- 8:15Speaker 3: A towbl a.
- 8:18Speaker 1: That's a good question, tobl on.
- 8:21Speaker 5: When she knew that kid was gone and low her grass,
- 8:27Speaker 5: low her graph. Stacy's mom is like the people Chris
- 8:32Speaker 5: Hansen would have dancing with nance And I know growing
- 8:38Speaker 5: up it was a fantasy.
- 8:41Speaker 1: It's a little different now then I'm thirty three.
- 8:45Speaker 5: Stacy's mom she put some clues, he says, and he's
- 8:52Speaker 5: so wrong, Stacy, can't you seen.
- 8:55Speaker 1: It's gonna be a feeling me.
- 8:57Speaker 2: I know it's just a song, but so things.
- 9:02Speaker 1: That's pretty clever.
- 9:04Speaker 2: That's funny. I missed that one line in the middle
- 9:06Speaker 2: that you guys thought was so funny.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Being called by Chris Hanson, the guy who does the predator. Yeah,
- 9:11Speaker 1: that is funny.
- 9:11Speaker 4: You're seeming like one of the people Chris Hansen would
- 9:14Speaker 4: ca a hatch, hands would catch.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Oh that's beautiful.
- 9:20Speaker 4: He goes on and one of the things he goes
- 9:21Speaker 4: could you imagine if it was Stacy's dad?
- 9:23Speaker 3: How bad this?
- 9:24Speaker 1: Oh yeah, but you're right. You got your daughter's teenage
- 9:29Speaker 1: boyfriend at the house. You don't come out and just
- 9:31Speaker 1: a towel and flaunt it. That makes you a weirdo.
- 9:36Speaker 3: This could be a felony.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Now that I'm thirty three, seems kind of weird. Something's
- 9:43Speaker 1: wrong with Stacy's ball.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I always the thing I liked about Fountains of Wayne
- 9:49Speaker 2: was how they were willing to not take themselves seriously
- 9:54Speaker 2: at all, with like pooh ooh ooh nobody, nobody would
- 9:59Speaker 2: sing that life.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Ooo oooh ooh no no.
- 10:04Speaker 2: And then it's perfect, incredibly well crafted pop music. I
- 10:08Speaker 2: mean really good.
- 10:09Speaker 1: My son, my twelve year old's favorite song from that album,
- 10:12Speaker 1: just loves it so much, as that one about I'm
- 10:13Speaker 1: gonna get my shit together. Oh I can't live like
- 10:17Speaker 1: this forever?
- 10:18Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, Fountains of Wayne, May they flow forever
- 10:25Speaker 2: in our hearts.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I was actually surprised, and then I'll be done talking
- 10:29Speaker 1: about fountains wayn because I don't know how many people
- 10:30Speaker 1: know who that band is. But they have several songs,
- 10:32Speaker 1: quite a few songs that are about modern life, about
- 10:36Speaker 1: like the modern workplace. And I thought, Okay, that's gonna
- 10:40Speaker 1: become a thing because it's so relatable for young people,
- 10:43Speaker 1: you know, in their experiences with modern workplace. But it hasn't.
- 10:47Speaker 1: And I don't know why, but I thought that would
- 10:48Speaker 1: become a genre of music, you know, just modern cubical life,
- 10:53Speaker 1: cubicle rock.
- 10:54Speaker 2: Yeah, that sound attractive.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Wow, Well, they have several great songs that are great
- 10:58Speaker 1: about it.
- 10:58Speaker 4: But that's actually because think about the show The Office,
- 11:01Speaker 4: How that took office?
- 11:02Speaker 2: You did that musically exactly? Also known as cashier pop right,
- 11:09Speaker 2: dead end job? Yeah, what does bts? The Korean kids
- 11:14Speaker 2: sing about love, and of course nobody's in nobody has
- 11:18Speaker 2: sex in Korea, so why bother right crushes?
- 11:22Speaker 1: They all have crushes and giggle about it, I guess,
- 11:24Speaker 1: but never actually get to see there, you know, they
- 11:25Speaker 1: never get to hit it like a champ if you don
- 11:27Speaker 1: know what I'm saying.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Yeah, which is god tragic.
- 11:31Speaker 3: Full circle life may be like a boxing match, but
- 11:35Speaker 3: sex shouldn't be Yes. Well, I guess that's it, Well,
- 11:40Speaker 3: said Michael
