Transcript
- 0:04Speaker 1: Hello, friends from across the nation and around the world.
- 0:09Speaker 1: I'm Martin, and you were listening to Dad's Bedtime Stories.
- 0:14Speaker 1: And today, I've decided that I better do the second
- 0:18Speaker 1: episode of the Sprite series while I wait for all
- 0:21Speaker 1: of your magic costume tree ideas to come in for
- 0:24Speaker 1: the rest of this week. I think I'll probably be
- 0:27Speaker 1: able to pick a couple of those anyways. Now, I
- 0:30Speaker 1: did already get a couple... suggestions for the Sprite series.
- 0:35Speaker 1: But I already kind of had the second episode figured
- 0:39Speaker 1: out from the first one, so I'm going to do
- 0:41Speaker 1: that before I take any of the ideas, if that's
- 0:43Speaker 1: okay with you. But I also got a couple messages
- 0:47Speaker 1: like this one that I think I better address. Hi,
- 0:52Speaker 1: my name is August. I live in Calgary, Canada. I
- 0:56Speaker 1: want to know one thing. What is a Sprite? And
- 1:02Speaker 1: fair enough, that is a great question, because I don't
- 1:05Speaker 1: think I really talked about what a sprite was in
- 1:08Speaker 1: the series, I just got right into it. Now, I
- 1:12Speaker 1: googled it, and Google tells me that a sprite is
- 1:19Speaker 1: a supernatural, fairy-like, or ethereal nature spirit from European folklore.
- 1:28Speaker 1: And that it's derived from a Latin word that means
- 1:32Speaker 1: breath or spirit. So I kind of think of them as...
- 1:40Speaker 1: I don't know, they look kind of like fairies in
- 1:41Speaker 1: my mind, but they're made out of, you know, the
- 1:44Speaker 1: essence of the thing that they are. If that makes
- 1:48Speaker 1: any sense. Honestly, you can imagine them however you want to.
- 1:53Speaker 1: I just kind of imagine them as little fairy-like creatures...
- 1:56Speaker 1: made out of whatever element or thing that they are
- 2:01Speaker 1: the spirit of. So in this case, the first one
- 2:07Speaker 1: was kind of like the spirit of air, so probably
- 2:11Speaker 1: not super visible. Oh, and before I get started with
- 2:16Speaker 1: the story, I should also give a shout-out to Hannah,
- 2:18Speaker 1: who wrote in a couple suggestions for the Sprite series,
- 2:22Speaker 1: and also kind of pointed out that I never named
- 2:25Speaker 1: the Sprite, And Hannah thought, well, Hannah had a specific
- 2:29Speaker 1: name for the sprite and I decided to go with it.
- 2:31Speaker 1: So thank you, Hannah. Before we get started, I do
- 2:35Speaker 1: have a few shoutouts to give because I got a
- 2:37Speaker 1: few new Patreon sponsors recently. So first of all, thank
- 2:42Speaker 1: you to Jaden and Josiah, apparently nine-year-old twins who listen
- 2:48Speaker 1: to the podcast every night. Yeah, thank you guys. I
- 2:52Speaker 1: really appreciate you sponsoring the podcast. Next up, thank you
- 2:56Speaker 1: to Zion, who also loves the show and also became
- 3:01Speaker 1: a Patreon sponsor. I really appreciate you doing that, Zion.
- 3:07Speaker 1: And last, but certainly not least, thank you to Evan,
- 3:11Speaker 1: who is also nine years old, but from the Canary
- 3:16Speaker 1: Islands in Spain. I didn't even know I had people
- 3:19Speaker 1: listening from Spain, so hi, people from Spain. Hi, Evan.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Thanks for joining Patreon. And if you want ad-free episodes
- 3:29Speaker 1: that are released as soon as I finish making them,
- 3:33Speaker 1: you too can join Patreon for as little as $ 1
- 3:36Speaker 1: a month. And all those proceeds go directly to the show.
- 3:41Speaker 1: So I really appreciate it. But if you can't, that's
- 3:46Speaker 1: totally fine too. I just appreciate you guys listening and
- 3:49Speaker 1: you really shouldn't feel bad if you don't join Patreon.
- 3:53Speaker 1: You will, however, sometimes get ads in spaces like this
- 3:57Speaker 1: one right here. Time to get as comfy as you
- 4:02Speaker 1: can in that bed, close your eyes, and imagine yourself
- 4:06Speaker 1: doing what the kid in the story does. Now, if
- 4:13Speaker 1: you remember where we left off in the first Sprite episode,
- 4:18Speaker 1: you fell asleep floating on air. and you wake up
- 4:23Speaker 1: the same way. For a moment, you forget where you are.
- 4:29Speaker 1: You stretch out your arms, roll onto your side, and
- 4:33Speaker 1: reach down for your blanket. Unfortunately, you find nothing. No
- 4:39Speaker 1: blanket at all. You open your eyes. Below you is
- 4:45Speaker 1: the flat stone beside the lake. Above you, Sunlight shines
- 4:50Speaker 1: through the strange wind barrier that you or your, well,
- 4:55Speaker 1: wind sprite created last night. Leaves drift around its edges,
- 5:02Speaker 1: slowly circling your little campsite. And right in front of
- 5:07Speaker 1: your face is your wind sprite. You're awake! She flies backward,
- 5:15Speaker 1: does a little flip, and comes swooping toward you again.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Did you sleep well? I slept wonderfully. You snore a
- 5:24Speaker 1: little bit, by the way. I do? Only a little.
- 5:30Speaker 1: You sit up, still floating. You think for a minute
- 5:34Speaker 1: that it's probably okay if the wind barrier disappears, and, well,
- 5:40Speaker 1: it does. Fresh morning air brushes your cheeks, and leaves
- 5:46Speaker 1: scatter across the stone. Eh, there's something I forgot to
- 5:52Speaker 1: tell you yesterday, your sprite says. Uh, what is it?
- 5:58Speaker 1: My name. Eh, you didn't ask either, by the way,
- 6:02Speaker 1: which is kind of rude. But, uh, in case you
- 6:06Speaker 1: were wondering, it's, it's Annabelle. Annabelle, you repeat. I like it.
- 6:15Speaker 1: She smiles. And what should I call you? You tell
- 6:20Speaker 1: Annabelle your name and she repeats it carefully. Well, she says,
- 6:27Speaker 1: now that we've properly introduced ourselves, I think it's time
- 6:32Speaker 1: you learn to defend yourself. You know, without me helping.
- 6:37Speaker 1: You glance toward the trees. Defend myself from what, you ask? Well,
- 6:45Speaker 1: I mean, hopefully nothing today, but You're going to explore
- 6:49Speaker 1: the world, aren't you? There's all sorts of dangerous things
- 6:53Speaker 1: out here. You nod. Then you should probably know how
- 6:59Speaker 1: to do more than just float away from things, though
- 7:03Speaker 1: that is a pretty good defense to most stuff. Until
- 7:07Speaker 1: something else can fly, of course, or, well, you have
- 7:10Speaker 1: to help somebody who can't fly, and you leave them
- 7:13Speaker 1: behind by flying away and looking kind of like a coward.
- 7:16Speaker 1: but that's kind of beside the point. You realize that
- 7:21Speaker 1: Annabelle does have a point, and, well, after all, you
- 7:26Speaker 1: really wanted an elemental sprite because you wanted elemental powers.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Learning how to use them is exactly what you wanted.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Why would you turn it down? Annabelle holds out her
- 7:41Speaker 1: tiny hands. Air begins to swirl beside her, Dust rises
- 7:47Speaker 1: from the ground. A few dry leaves tumble into the
- 7:51Speaker 1: spinning wind, outlining a round body, two thick arms, and
- 7:58Speaker 1: a head. You stare at the creature standing before you. Eh,
- 8:05Speaker 1: I thought I'd make you some, you know, practice enemies.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Wind enemies. Windemies. I'll keep working on the name. Can
- 8:15Speaker 1: it hit me you ask gently the creature waves you
- 8:22Speaker 1: wave back now yesterday Annabelle explains you learned to make
- 8:30Speaker 1: the wind move you today you're going to learn to
- 8:35Speaker 1: make it move something else she floats beside your shoulder
- 8:42Speaker 1: start by feeling the air You close your eyes and
- 8:48Speaker 1: almost immediately, you can feel the air flowing around you,
- 8:53Speaker 1: between your fingers, across the lake, through the trees. It's
- 8:59Speaker 1: like it's an extension of your body. Now, gather some
- 9:05Speaker 1: between your hands. You hold your palms facing each other
- 9:12Speaker 1: and a little breeze starts to form between them. Press
- 9:16Speaker 1: it together. It's more powerful if you kind of compact it.
- 9:23Speaker 1: You try to do just that, but the breeze slips
- 9:27Speaker 1: out and blows against the side of your face. Annabelle giggles.
- 9:33Speaker 1: You have to hold it there. Focus. I was trying
- 9:37Speaker 1: to focus. I know, but try harder. This time you
- 9:43Speaker 1: imagine the air staying inside a little ball, an imaginary ball.
- 9:50Speaker 1: As you press your hands together, you feel something pushing back. There,
- 9:57Speaker 1: Annabelle says, now. send it forward. You thrust out your
- 10:04Speaker 1: hands and a puff of wind shoots across the stone.
- 10:08Speaker 1: It reaches the creature and blows one leaf off of
- 10:13Speaker 1: its shoulder. The leaf drifts to the ground. The creature
- 10:17Speaker 1: looks down at it. You look at Annabelle. That was
- 10:24Speaker 1: the warning shot, you say. That's very considerate of you,
- 10:30Speaker 1: Annabelle replies. You try again, gathering the air, holding it,
- 10:36Speaker 1: pressing it together, and pushing it forward. This time a
- 10:41Speaker 1: proper blast shoots from your hands. The creature stumbles backward.
- 10:47Speaker 1: its feet scattering dust across the stone. Yes, you shout. Again,
- 10:55Speaker 1: Annabelle commands. Before too long, you can send a wind
- 11:01Speaker 1: blast without bringing your hands all the way together. You
- 11:05Speaker 1: reach out, grab the air with your magic, and push
- 11:10Speaker 1: it in whatever direction you like. The creature charges. and
- 11:15Speaker 1: you blast it backwards with the wind. It charges again.
- 11:20Speaker 1: You dodge sideways on a gust of wind yourself, turn,
- 11:26Speaker 1: and send another blast back in its direction. The creature
- 11:31Speaker 1: bursts apart in a shower of leaves, and Annabelle claps.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Very good. Wind doesn't always seem that dangerous to people.
- 11:44Speaker 1: until it starts moving super fast, or, well, around in
- 11:50Speaker 1: a circle, like a tornado. She makes a small circle
- 11:56Speaker 1: with one finger, and a tiny tornado forms beneath her.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Same air, different movement. You hold out your hand, and
- 12:08Speaker 1: picture the wind turning. It spins once, then shoots sideways,
- 12:14Speaker 1: and a pile of leaves smacks you in the face.
- 12:19Speaker 1: You pull one out of your mouth. Annabelle makes a
- 12:22Speaker 1: strange squeaking sound. Are you laughing at me? you ask. No,
- 12:30Speaker 1: of course not. She makes the sound again. Okay, yeah,
- 12:34Speaker 1: I totally am. That was hilarious. You grin and try again.
- 12:40Speaker 1: This time you keep the circle small. The wind turns
- 12:45Speaker 1: around a point just above the ground and dust begins
- 12:50Speaker 1: to rise. A little funnel forms. You move your hand
- 12:56Speaker 1: and the tornado moves with it. I'm doing it. You are.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Now see if you can keep doing it while something
- 13:05Speaker 1: is chasing you. She creates two more wind creatures. Oh,
- 13:12Speaker 1: come on. You said you wanted to learn. The first
- 13:16Speaker 1: creature runs toward you. You lift yourself over its head,
- 13:21Speaker 1: land behind it, and send your little tornado into its legs.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Leaves and dust spiral upwards. You find that you can
- 13:31Speaker 1: sort of funnel them out of the top of the
- 13:35Speaker 1: tornado or, well, mini-tornado. Before you can celebrate, though, the
- 13:41Speaker 1: second creature bumps you gently in the back. You tumble
- 13:46Speaker 1: onto your hands and knees, before remembering that you can fly.
- 13:52Speaker 1: You shoot straight up into the air, point down at
- 13:56Speaker 1: the second one, and this time, you blast it with
- 14:00Speaker 1: another tornado. The tornado engulfs the little air creature, spins
- 14:06Speaker 1: in a circle, and sends the air straight up and
- 14:11Speaker 1: away from you, completely dissipating it into, well, normal air
- 14:17Speaker 1: and a few leaves that slowly drift down to the ground. Then,
- 14:23Speaker 1: you see something blue moving in the water. You stop.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Near the shore, a bright shape slips through the lake.
- 14:35Speaker 1: You recognize it? Annabelle, look! It's that creature from yesterday.
- 14:42Speaker 1: The water rises. At first, it looks like a wave. Then,
- 14:48Speaker 1: the wave grows arms. A huge creature pulls itself from
- 14:54Speaker 1: the lake, its body made entirely of moving water. TWO
- 15:00Speaker 1: GLOWING EYES APPEAR INSIDE ITS HEAD. THAT'S ONE OF YOUR CREATURES, RIGHT?
- 15:07Speaker 1: YOU ASK. NO, I'M A WIND SPRITE. I CAN'T REALLY
- 15:13Speaker 1: MOVE WATER. UNLESS I DO IT WITH THE WIND, OF COURSE.
- 15:18Speaker 1: THE CREATURE SWINGS ITS WATERY ARMS. YOU BLAST YOURSELF SIDEWAYS
- 15:24Speaker 1: WITH EASE. WHICH, WELL, STILL FEELS A LITTLE STRANGE. Then,
- 15:31Speaker 1: you gather the air around you, spin in a circle,
- 15:35Speaker 1: compress it together, and blast it forward at the creature.
- 15:41Speaker 1: The blast sends the creature stumbling backwards towards the lake, but, well,
- 15:47Speaker 1: at the end of the day, it doesn't really destroy it.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Keep moving, Annabelle calls. You quickly dart upward and over
- 15:55Speaker 1: to the left. The creature follows. You blast it again
- 16:01Speaker 1: with air, the creature dodges to the right and sends
- 16:06Speaker 1: a stream of water towards you. The water connects with
- 16:10Speaker 1: your legs, then cold races around your ankles as it
- 16:16Speaker 1: freezes into ice. You look down to see ice wrapped
- 16:22Speaker 1: around your boots and feet. You pull upward, but nothing happens.
- 16:29Speaker 1: The creature has you locked to the ground with the water,
- 16:34Speaker 1: or at least locked a little bit up in the
- 16:37Speaker 1: air and closer to the ground. I guess this is
- 16:41Speaker 1: one of those situations I can't completely fly away from,
- 16:45Speaker 1: you say. No, but you need to try something else, quickly,
- 16:51Speaker 1: Annabelle yells. You try blasting the ice with your wind, but, well,
- 16:58Speaker 1: it doesn't really work at all. Some of the water
- 17:01Speaker 1: splashes away, but the ice stays where it is. Then
- 17:06Speaker 1: you remember. You need to try something more powerful. Something
- 17:13Speaker 1: a little bit different. You start to gather the wind
- 17:18Speaker 1: around the creature. You move it in a spiral pattern,
- 17:24Speaker 1: around and around and around. creating a medium-sized tornado surrounding
- 17:32Speaker 1: the creature. The creature starts to look left and right,
- 17:37Speaker 1: unsure of what to do, as you tighten the little tornado,
- 17:42Speaker 1: smaller and smaller and smaller, until the water starts to
- 17:48Speaker 1: get caught up inside it. Bits of the water start
- 17:52Speaker 1: to shoot upward, You direct the funnel over top of
- 17:57Speaker 1: the lake, shooting the water out and, well, back where
- 18:02Speaker 1: it came from. Before long, all of the water is gone.
- 18:09Speaker 1: You allow the wind to disappear, leaving behind a little
- 18:16Speaker 1: blue creature that falls to the ground.
- 18:20Speaker 2: A sprite.
- 18:22Speaker 1: A sprite. Annabelle says. You slowly lower yourself to the ground,
- 18:30Speaker 1: your boots and feet still covered in giant blocks of ice,
- 18:34Speaker 1: luckily not still connected to the creature, but pretty annoying nonetheless.
- 18:40Speaker 1: You move over to a rock, smash them as hard
- 18:44Speaker 1: as you can until the ice breaks apart on one foot,
- 18:49Speaker 1: then you repeat the process with the other. before taking
- 18:53Speaker 1: to the air and meeting Annabelle where the other little
- 18:58Speaker 1: creature is laying on the ground, looking rather dizzy. What
- 19:03Speaker 1: were you doing? Annabelle demands. Why are you attacking us?
- 19:09Speaker 1: Are you one of those bad sprites? she asks. The
- 19:15Speaker 1: sprite raises one finger. Just give me a moment. She
- 19:23Speaker 1: closes her eyes. I think the lake is still spinning.
- 19:30Speaker 1: You crouch beside her. It's definitely the blue sprite you
- 19:35Speaker 1: chased yesterday. Finally, she looks up. I was testing you,
- 19:43Speaker 1: I guess. Annabelle folds her arms. Well, you could have
- 19:48Speaker 1: asked me if you wanted to test my human. Yes,
- 19:54Speaker 1: the water sprite admits. I probably should have. Sorry.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Probably?
- 20:02Speaker 1: I said I'm sorry. She looks at you. I felt
- 20:08Speaker 1: your energy yesterday. Your mana, it was so strong that
- 20:15Speaker 1: I decided to follow it. But then you bonded with her.
- 20:23Speaker 1: With Annabelle, you say? The water sprite nods. I thought
- 20:30Speaker 1: the feeling would go away, but it didn't. This morning
- 20:35Speaker 1: it was even stronger. She presses a little hand against
- 20:40Speaker 1: your chest. It feels like something is pulling me towards you.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Annabelle slowly lowers her arms. That's interesting, she says. What is,
- 20:56Speaker 1: you ask? Your mana. I noticed it yesterday, too. Every
- 21:04Speaker 1: time we use some, there seems to be more. Honestly,
- 21:10Speaker 1: I made you fly around and everything just to see
- 21:12Speaker 1: if you'd exhaust it, but somehow you didn't. So, I
- 21:19Speaker 1: have a lot of mana? Annabelle laughs. You seem to
- 21:24Speaker 1: have an almost unlimited mana pool somehow, as far as
- 21:29Speaker 1: I can tell anyways. The blue sprite stares at you.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Do you think it's enough for Two bonds? Maybe, Annabelle says. Honestly,
- 21:43Speaker 1: this is the first time I've been bonded too. I
- 21:46Speaker 1: have no idea. You hold out your hand. The water
- 21:52Speaker 1: sprite rises, still wobbling slightly. My name is Splash, she says,
- 22:02Speaker 1: and she settles onto your palm. The connection happens almost immediately.
- 22:10Speaker 1: You feel Annabelle beside you, familiar and bright. Then, you
- 22:17Speaker 1: feel splash. And suddenly, you feel the lake. You gasp.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Water rests between the stones. It clings to the moss.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Tiny droplets float in the morning air. You can feel
- 22:38Speaker 1: or sense all of it. Splash smiles. Oh, there you are.
- 22:47Speaker 1: You look at Annabelle. She grins. Well, that answers that.
- 22:54Speaker 1: A few minutes later, you stand at the water's edge
- 22:58Speaker 1: with one sprite beside each shoulder. Hold out your hand,
- 23:04Speaker 1: Splash says. You do. Now, feel the water. Ask a
- 23:12Speaker 1: little of it to come closer to you. You are
- 23:16Speaker 1: part of the water now too. You imagine the water
- 23:22Speaker 1: moving towards you and a little bulge forms in the
- 23:26Speaker 1: lake and rises upward. You pull harder and a wave
- 23:33Speaker 1: splashes over your boots. Annabelle laughs, but you try again. Focus,
- 23:42Speaker 1: Splash says as if that actually tells you how to
- 23:46Speaker 1: do this, but you do focus. Just as you did
- 23:51Speaker 1: with the air, you try to imagine the water forming
- 23:56Speaker 1: into a little ball. The ball rises up out of
- 24:01Speaker 1: the lake and wobbles above your palm. You move your
- 24:06Speaker 1: hand left and the water follows. You move it right
- 24:12Speaker 1: and the water follows again. Very good, Splash says. Now,
- 24:21Speaker 1: one of the most important things about water magic, especially
- 24:27Speaker 1: when using it to defend yourself, is the ability to
- 24:31Speaker 1: freeze it or, well, unfreeze it at will. Start by
- 24:38Speaker 1: trying to feel the inside of the water, the little
- 24:43Speaker 1: tiny movements of the individual pieces. Focus on them and, well,
- 24:52Speaker 1: imagine them slowing down. You focus and you feel that
- 24:59Speaker 1: the water itself has a sort of vibration to it.
- 25:06Speaker 1: You imagine that vibration slowing down... And frost and ice
- 25:12Speaker 1: start to spread across the ball of water. A moment later...
- 25:19Speaker 1: A lumpy piece of ice is floating above your hand
- 25:22Speaker 1: instead of water. You grin. Very good. Now, to make
- 25:31Speaker 1: it water again... Imagine those little things... those little vibrations
- 25:38Speaker 1: moving faster. You imagine the individual pieces of water moving
- 25:46Speaker 1: faster and the ice transforms back into water almost instantly.
- 25:55Speaker 1: You practice passing the water from hand to hand, freezing
- 26:00Speaker 1: it into ice and allowing it to transform back into
- 26:05Speaker 1: water Now, if you want it to evaporate, imagine them
- 26:12Speaker 1: going even faster. You hold the water between two of
- 26:18Speaker 1: your hands and try to imagine it vibrating faster. The
- 26:26Speaker 1: water starts to, well, boil. Then, it starts to steam,
- 26:34Speaker 1: and then... It evaporates into the air itself, becoming water vapor.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Good.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Now try to gather it back. Pull it towards you.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Allow it to slow down and reform into water. You
- 26:58Speaker 1: focus on the water that surrounds you. And suddenly you...
- 27:04Speaker 1: feel it in the air itself tiny little bits of
- 27:09Speaker 1: water vapor are all around you you pull them in
- 27:14Speaker 1: towards you imagining them focusing into a ball and slowly
- 27:22Speaker 1: they form into a little ball of water once again
- 27:28Speaker 1: water is almost always around you Splash says Even when
- 27:33Speaker 1: you're not near a lake or river, you can find
- 27:38Speaker 1: it in the air itself or in the living things around.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Now it's time to practice, Splash says, looking over at Annabelle.
- 27:53Speaker 1: The water moves up out of the lake, forming itself
- 27:57Speaker 1: into the shape of a little water creature. The air
- 28:02Speaker 1: does the same. The two creatures take a fighting stance.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Annabelle and Splash look over at you and give a nod. Suddenly,
- 28:15Speaker 1: the two creatures attack. The water creature blasting streams of
- 28:21Speaker 1: water straight towards you and the air creature blasting air.
- 28:27Speaker 1: You shoot up into the air to dodge both but
- 28:32Speaker 1: the stream of water follows you. Instead of trying to
- 28:37Speaker 1: dodge it, this time, you connect with it instead, grabbing
- 28:43Speaker 1: onto the stream of water, spinning it around your body,
- 28:48Speaker 1: and blasting it straight down towards the creature who sent it.
- 28:54Speaker 1: The water connects with the creature, and you imagine it
- 28:58Speaker 1: instantly freezing, which it does. Air blasts you backwards, making
- 29:05Speaker 1: you flip a few times before eventually regaining your composure.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Another air blast shoots straight towards you, but this time,
- 29:18Speaker 1: you split it apart with your hands, commanding it to
- 29:22Speaker 1: go around you. You form it into a concentrated ball,
- 29:29Speaker 1: perform an epic front flip, and release the energy. A
- 29:35Speaker 1: ball of air shoots straight towards the air creature and
- 29:39Speaker 1: instantly blasts it apart. Well, good job, Annabelle says. I agree,
- 29:49Speaker 1: Splash comments. You spend the rest of the day practicing.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Your command of both air and water Improves rather quickly.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Both of the elements start to feel like they're a
- 30:07Speaker 1: part of you. You blast from the air into the
- 30:12Speaker 1: water and move through both elements with absolute ease. Before
- 30:20Speaker 1: too long, you start to get a little bit tired.
- 30:27Speaker 1: I think it might be time to rest. You say
- 30:30Speaker 1: as you land on the ground beside your backpack and
- 30:35Speaker 1: take out a little snack. Wanna create the shelter again?
- 30:40Speaker 1: You ask Annabelle. Why should I do that when you
- 30:45Speaker 1: can do it yourself? Oh, fine, you respond, and you
- 30:53Speaker 1: reach out to the air once again. Only this time
- 30:58Speaker 1: you decide... Why stop with air alone when you now
- 31:04Speaker 1: command water? You spin the air around yourself, creating a
- 31:12Speaker 1: little dome, and you pull all of the moisture out
- 31:17Speaker 1: of it. You move it just outside the spinning dome
- 31:23Speaker 1: of air and freeze it into a dome of its own.
- 31:28Speaker 1: A dome of pure ice. Two full layers of protection
- 31:34Speaker 1: around yourself for the night. You think about making yourself
- 31:38Speaker 1: a bed out of ice as well, but decide against it.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Sleeping on air was probably one of the most comfortable
- 31:47Speaker 1: things you've ever done, and sleeping on ice or maybe
- 31:52Speaker 1: even water doesn't sound so great. You float up in
- 31:57Speaker 1: the air and allow yourself to lean backward at just
- 32:03Speaker 1: the right angle. You compress the air beneath your body,
- 32:10Speaker 1: forming it into what feels like a little cloud that
- 32:14Speaker 1: surrounds you. You close your eyes, focus on your breath,
- 32:23Speaker 1: As the two sprites land on top of you. And
- 32:27Speaker 1: both of them curl up to go to sleep. With
- 32:33Speaker 1: each breath, the tension releases a little bit more from
- 32:38Speaker 1: your arms. It melts away from your legs. Your shoulders drop,
- 32:46Speaker 1: your face softens. And your mind slowly wanders off. to
- 32:54Speaker 1: thoughts of new dreams, new adventures, and new sprites to come.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Good night, everyone.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Thank you. you Thank you. Thank you. Amen. Thank you.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
