- 0:19Speaker 2: good evening to you, Hello Andrew. So here we go again.
- 0:22Speaker 2: The volatility is here again. It's up and then it's
- 0:25Speaker 2: down and people are investing. So how are investment markets
- 0:28Speaker 2: reacting to the United States holding off our new strikes
- 0:32Speaker 2: on a round subject to a deal.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Well, you know that it's up and down again, but
- 0:36Speaker 3: it's been a pretty muted response so far. Injury, the
- 0:39Speaker 3: brint crude or price been quite volatiles down on Friday's close,
- 0:43Speaker 3: but it's been a real volatile day. It's been between
- 0:45Speaker 3: eighty one to fifty five US a barrel to eighty
- 0:47Speaker 3: four fifty US a barrel is currently around eighty three
- 0:50Speaker 3: resolution if we do get one, is it extually important
- 0:53Speaker 3: for our covenment bond yours? Last month we saw long
- 0:56Speaker 3: term interest rates increased by about a quarter percent point
- 0:59Speaker 3: two five percent, and that was predominated in its Middle
- 1:01Speaker 3: East situation that increases borrowing costs for all of us. Unfortunately,
- 1:06Speaker 3: today the bond market didn't go for it ten year
- 1:08Speaker 3: government bond. You was hearing Zone up another seven basis
- 1:10Speaker 3: points to four points even four. We saw the New
- 1:13Speaker 3: Zealon shear market up today, but the rest of Asia
- 1:16Speaker 3: was pretty weak. In fact, we've seen this Korean sharmaker
- 1:19Speaker 3: down another five percent today on this AI unwind. Okay,
- 1:22Speaker 3: so yeah, not going for it yet.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Vista Group, the movie theater software company. What did the
- 1:27Speaker 2: market make of their profit result today?
- 1:30Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:30Speaker 2: Like it.
- 1:30Speaker 3: It was quite a confident during period results. The first
- 1:34Speaker 3: half revenue eighty six points through where it was a
- 1:36Speaker 3: bit of head of eighty six point three million, sorry,
- 1:38Speaker 3: was a little bit of a head of expectation. They
- 1:40Speaker 3: actually lifted revenue guidance to between one hundred and seventy
- 1:44Speaker 3: nine to one hundred and eighty four million, which is
- 1:45Speaker 3: a little ahead of expectations, driven by good customer growth
- 1:48Speaker 3: and a little bit of foreign exchange benefits. They did
- 1:51Speaker 3: keep their profit margin a guidance flat. They're basically spending
- 1:55Speaker 3: a lot more money supporting customer onboarding. That's a good thing,
- 1:58Speaker 3: but they've got to invest it up front. And they
- 2:01Speaker 3: highlighted an early box office success of Spider Man and Odyssey,
- 2:06Speaker 3: so hopefully that success keeps going. Check this year price
- 2:09Speaker 3: along today without one point six percent to two dollars
- 2:11Speaker 3: fifty one.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Have you seen the Odyssey?
- 2:14Speaker 3: No yet, sounds good though looking forward to it.
- 2:16Speaker 2: I have as magnificent. Have you seen obviously? Have you
- 2:18Speaker 2: seen Spider Man?
- 2:19Speaker 3: Now?
- 2:19Speaker 2: You obviously worked too hard.
- 2:22Speaker 3: There's an opportunity for me absolute.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Well, Tom Holland, this is his seventh movie, is Spider Man.
- 2:27Speaker 2: That means he's out of the sixth movie deal. So
- 2:29Speaker 2: he's getting forty million for this, but we believe that
- 2:32Speaker 2: he'll be getting points. And they did one and a
- 2:34Speaker 2: half billion in a weekend. So wow, Mester Hot, there's
- 2:37Speaker 2: a return for you, mate, there's a there's a market
- 2:39Speaker 2: return for you anyway. Look getting back to New Zealand,
- 2:42Speaker 2: Brisco's Group released today and what did the market make
- 2:45Speaker 2: of that as well?
- 2:46Speaker 3: Yeah, a robust training update from Brisco's, boosted by Rebel
- 2:51Speaker 3: the sports could business that more than I've set a
- 2:53Speaker 3: bit a weakness and Brisco's the home Where's business? The
- 2:57Speaker 3: team at Briscos did a good job. They had to
- 2:59Speaker 3: push deals hard to support those sales, but none of
- 3:02Speaker 3: they's gotten through. The management team provided first half twenty
- 3:06Speaker 3: twenty seven profit guidance of no less than twenties of
- 3:10Speaker 3: a mill, which is about where the market is. Kind
- 3:13Speaker 3: of a constructive outlook statement from management team. They're saying,
- 3:16Speaker 3: although economic conditions remain difficult and recovery continues to be
- 3:19Speaker 3: slow and anticipated, we are encouraged by the sales of
- 3:22Speaker 3: the resilience achieved during the first half. It's a similar
- 3:26Speaker 3: time we're getting from other people as well, that there
- 3:27Speaker 3: is a little bit of life in the economy. The
- 3:30Speaker 3: market was also encouraged by the update, with the Brisco
- 3:33Speaker 3: share price closing up one point three percent to four
- 3:36Speaker 3: sixty six today.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Very good, You'll never buy better, and I thank you
