- 0:09Speaker 1: from Canes Insight and maybe more importantly from State of
- 0:11Speaker 1: the State.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Hopefully you are subscribed there. It's Rivalry Week.
- 0:15Speaker 1: We've talked about this, but it doesn't really feel like
- 0:17Speaker 1: Rivalry Week on my side. Is it like a half
- 0:20Speaker 1: Rivalry Week for you guys? How does it feel right now?
- 0:24Speaker 3: Miami fans are still rivals of FSU fans. I think
- 0:29Speaker 3: your rivals right now are your administration, your coach, you know,
- 0:33Speaker 3: that's kind of where your anger is directed towards. I
- 0:35Speaker 3: don't sense a lot of anger towards Miami. Maybe we're
- 0:37Speaker 3: playing someone else and you're cheering against Miami, winning a
- 0:39Speaker 3: championship or something like that. It feels more like a rivalry,
- 0:42Speaker 3: but yeah, in this game, it's weird because we've talked
- 0:45Speaker 3: about it. A lot of FSU fans are cheering for,
- 0:48Speaker 3: you know, one of those 50 to nothing wins where
- 0:50Speaker 3: the coach gets fired on the, on the tarmac or
- 0:52Speaker 3: the next day. So how do you get too jacked
- 0:55Speaker 3: up about doing that? I think from Miami standpoint, I,
- 0:58Speaker 3: In terms of the team, obviously the team's focused on
- 0:59Speaker 3: winning and keeping their championship hopes alive and staying healthy
- 1:02Speaker 3: and executing and all this stuff that football coaches talk about.
- 1:05Speaker 3: I think broadly, you've got a lot of recruits in
- 1:07Speaker 3: the building. It is Miami's biggest recruiting weekend by far.
- 1:09Speaker 3: It's their biggest home game. It's the one that's going
- 1:12Speaker 3: to have the highest ticket prices. They don't have a
- 1:14Speaker 3: huge home schedule, so even a declining FSU team is
- 1:18Speaker 3: still the biggest ticket as far as home games. So
- 1:21Speaker 3: they want to put on a show for the recruits.
- 1:22Speaker 3: I think that's the bigger picture beyond just the game.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Somebody played a game with me earlier this week and
- 1:28Speaker 1: they played like a, would you rather? So would you,
- 1:31Speaker 1: if I, if I offered you a loss to Florida
- 1:34Speaker 1: state right now, but a guaranteed ACC championship and a
- 1:40Speaker 1: guaranteed semifinal appearance. Now you may win, you may lose
- 1:44Speaker 1: from there, but if I told you right now, you
- 1:46Speaker 1: lose to Florida state, but I'm going to guarantee you
- 1:48Speaker 1: an ACC championship and you'll be in the semifinal.
- 1:51Speaker 2: And then it's a roll of the dice from there.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Would you take it?
- 1:54Speaker 3: I would. I mean, getting there would be a nightmare
- 1:57Speaker 3: because you have to deal with all the people going
- 1:58Speaker 3: on live every day and dealing with all that stuff.
- 2:01Speaker 3: But big picture, if you really zoom out, I don't
- 2:04Speaker 3: think Miami fans are in a hurry to get Norvell
- 2:06Speaker 3: out of there.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it would save his job for the year for sure.
- 2:09Speaker 3: So I think that's good. And then obviously getting to
- 2:11Speaker 3: the semifinals, I mean, that's not easy. Miami went the
- 2:14Speaker 3: hard way last year. They had to beat Texas A
- 2:17Speaker 3: & M. First of all, they had to win every
- 2:18Speaker 3: ACC game in a blowout fashion in November, basically. Then
- 2:21Speaker 3: they had a sweat selection Sunday. They had to beat
- 2:25Speaker 3: Texas A & M at Texas A & M. They
- 2:26Speaker 3: had to beat Ohio State, which had been the best
- 2:28Speaker 3: team in the country most of that year. So that
- 2:31Speaker 3: was just to get to the semifinals. So I think, yeah,
- 2:34Speaker 3: you gladly take the semifinals. Plus, you haven't won the
- 2:36Speaker 3: ACC ever. So that's a pretty big prize as well.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Since it's a rivalry week, if Florida State and Florida
- 2:43Speaker 1: are playing, and it's No. 1 versus No. 2, so
- 2:46Speaker 1: you can't cheer for like, oh, just give me the upset.
- 2:49Speaker 2: But it's No. 1 versus No. 2. who do you
- 2:52Speaker 2: hate more?
- 2:53Speaker 1: Like, who would you rather see lose that game? If
- 2:55Speaker 1: it's not like, Oh, well, this team's unranked. This team's good.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Like who just, which team would you prefer to see
- 3:02Speaker 1: lose more?
- 3:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I was, I mean, it's hard to say because
- 3:05Speaker 3: it's so much of it is based on like, who's
- 3:07Speaker 3: been good lately and who personally is annoying you, you know,
- 3:10Speaker 3: on the other side. So, you know, everybody has their
- 3:13Speaker 3: own family members and things like that, or just people
- 3:15Speaker 3: on the internet that upset them. So it has to
- 3:17Speaker 3: do with like most recent bragging. A lot of, if
- 3:19Speaker 3: you have to just look at them in a vacuum, um,
- 3:21Speaker 3: I think Florida State is a cooler program. Florida, to me,
- 3:24Speaker 3: is just kind of corny, and that's just not– they're
- 3:27Speaker 3: not good right now, so I'm not speaking in that way.
- 3:29Speaker 2: It's just their whole– how would.
- 3:32Speaker 3: You define their culture and their gimmick and everything, their helmets,
- 3:36Speaker 3: their chants, their fan base? I just find it a
- 3:39Speaker 3: little corny. FSU is more you don't like it, but
- 3:44Speaker 3: it's an opponent. They have their traditions, which makes sense.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Their uniforms look better. Um, their fans are just, you know,
- 3:51Speaker 3: college football fans are a little grimier than the Florida fans,
- 3:54Speaker 3: which a lot of them, you have your, your hardcore
- 3:56Speaker 3: North central Florida fans. I respect those guys. And the
- 4:01Speaker 3: Gainesville studio, you have students a lot of times, like,
- 4:04Speaker 3: I feel like they learn about football, like on a
- 4:05Speaker 3: blog as freshmen. So, you know, I would say that's,
- 4:09Speaker 3: that upsets me more from a fan base standpoint, but
- 4:12Speaker 3: really it's like, who are you annoyed with at that time?
- 4:15Speaker 2: Cause they've been bragging on you.
- 4:17Speaker 1: I tell you that during watching that Ole Miss game,
- 4:21Speaker 1: when Florida state is obviously in the depths of hell,
- 4:26Speaker 1: Miami is a top five team in the country and
- 4:28Speaker 1: you're watching Florida beat old miss and beat the tar
- 4:31Speaker 1: out of them.
- 4:32Speaker 2: And just that, that reality.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And thankfully they dropped to Missouri and dropped to, to
- 4:37Speaker 1: the South Carolina inexplicably to that reality of both of
- 4:41Speaker 1: my rivals are good at the same time was like
- 4:42Speaker 1: the worst three hour game that I've ever watched. Now,
- 4:45Speaker 1: fortunately that's turned a little bit. I will say on
- 4:48Speaker 1: the Miami Florida state rivalry, And we didn't bring this
- 4:51Speaker 1: up on State of the State, which again, go subscribe
- 4:53Speaker 1: there if you're not already.
- 4:54Speaker 2: I'll link it at the very end of this.
- 4:56Speaker 1: There does seem, and I know when you grew up matters,
- 5:00Speaker 1: a lot of fans that started watching the nineties would
- 5:01Speaker 1: say Florida, a lot of fans that are older and
- 5:03Speaker 1: watching the eighties would, would say Miami as, as the
- 5:05Speaker 1: rival that they dislike more. There does seem to be
- 5:09Speaker 1: a different level of, of not admiration, but a different
- 5:13Speaker 1: level of respect between Florida and, and, and I'm sorry,
- 5:16Speaker 1: between Miami and Florida state, then Miami and Florida and
- 5:20Speaker 1: Florida and Florida state. Whereas like, you know, I don't
- 5:22Speaker 1: think anybody would say I like the other one as much.
- 5:25Speaker 1: But the respect, I think because of the way that
- 5:28Speaker 1: these rivalries started, is very much more apparent with Florida and,
- 5:32Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Florida State and Miami, if I can get
- 5:34Speaker 1: it out right.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, look, so I was born in 85.
- 5:36Speaker 3: So obviously my FSU played every year. Those were very
- 5:39Speaker 3: meaningful games, particularly in the early 90s, late 80s. Then
- 5:42Speaker 3: you look at Florida, they stopped playing Miami because the
- 5:46Speaker 3: SEC was too tough for them, even though the SEC
- 5:48Speaker 3: at that time was not, you know, what it became later.
- 5:52Speaker 2: It's actually not at all.
- 5:54Speaker 3: So it makes you wonder, like, what was so hard
- 5:56Speaker 3: about that conference that they had to stop playing Miami?
- 5:58Speaker 3: I just think they saw FSU lose multiple championship appearances
- 6:01Speaker 3: because of the Miami game. They didn't want that for themselves.
- 6:04Speaker 3: And they did have to play FSU as well, although
- 6:06Speaker 3: Miami would have gladly played them both. So that was
- 6:09Speaker 3: a source of a lot of frustration from Miami fans.
- 6:12Speaker 3: I would say my whole life, really, until the early 2000s,
- 6:15Speaker 3: you started seeing Miami and Florida start playing again. And
- 6:19Speaker 3: since then, they've had their home and homes, and it
- 6:20Speaker 3: hasn't been as bad. But there was a stretch, really, from, like,
- 6:24Speaker 3: the mid eighties through the two thousands where these did
- 6:28Speaker 3: not play and they were not on the schedule and
- 6:30Speaker 3: they weren't crossing paths and bowls. So it was a
- 6:33Speaker 3: different dynamic than with Miami Florida state who are playing
- 6:35Speaker 3: every year.
- 6:36Speaker 2: And for a lot of that.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Those games decided the national championship. Yeah.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Hey guys, I'll get right back to chatting with Danny,
- 6:42Speaker 2: but first do me a quick favor.
- 6:44Speaker 1: One, make sure you're subscribed here to make sure you're subscribed.
- 6:47Speaker 2: At state of the state.
- 6:48Speaker 1: I will link that channel here on a collaborator link.
- 6:51Speaker 1: So you can just click on the bottom and subscribe.
- 6:53Speaker 1: And then three, if you're already subscribed to both of
- 6:56Speaker 1: those places, make sure you are checking out ACC Football
- 6:58Speaker 1: Addiction on audio platforms. There are times I'm able to
- 7:01Speaker 1: upload an audio because I'm at a game and can't
- 7:04Speaker 1: get service enough to put a video up. And all
- 7:06Speaker 1: of our videos on ACC Football Addiction go to those feeds.
- 7:09Speaker 1: So Apple Podcasts, Spotify, wherever, make sure you're subscribed to
- 7:13Speaker 1: ACC Football Addiction.
- 7:15Speaker 2: On audio as well. All right, now back to Danny.
- 7:18Speaker 1: The, uh, and, and it probably will never happen again
- 7:21Speaker 1: with realignment and everything that's going to, you know, go
- 7:23Speaker 1: on with that. But it is, I, I, these three
- 7:25Speaker 1: teams should play each other every single year. Like there,
- 7:28Speaker 1: there should not be, um, situations where these teams are
- 7:32Speaker 1: not playing each other every year. And I understand the
- 7:34Speaker 1: sec grind and all these things, but yeah, it sucks
- 7:37Speaker 1: that we're at a spot of college football where all
- 7:40Speaker 1: there's not a true like state champion and all three are,
- 7:43Speaker 1: are not playing each other, uh, every single season. So,
- 7:46Speaker 1: On this game specifically, on Saturday, I tried to waste
- 7:49Speaker 1: as much time as I could with not talking about
- 7:53Speaker 1: this game. From an injury health standpoint, get Lightfoot back,
- 7:58Speaker 1: Lucas back as well. What are the injury concerns? Who
- 8:02Speaker 1: steps up and plays right guard? Do they shuffle around?
- 8:05Speaker 1: Do they put somebody else in? I know they've tried
- 8:07Speaker 1: multiple things in that Clemson game, but just thoughts on
- 8:10Speaker 1: the health and specifically there at right guard.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Miami's had a tough season health-wise today. throughout the year,
- 8:17Speaker 3: really from the first game where you lose OJ Frederick,
- 8:19Speaker 3: likely for the season, who if you had seen him
- 8:21Speaker 3: at camp, he was looking like he was going to
- 8:22Speaker 3: just jump into that Ashton Hampton, Leonard Moore class. You
- 8:26Speaker 3: saw him in the playoffs. He was covering Jeremiah Smith,
- 8:29Speaker 3: covering Charlie Becker. So he was about ready to jump
- 8:31Speaker 3: in that class. At least that was the internal projection.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Freshman All-America, sophomore not as good, injured, and then having
- 8:37Speaker 3: a jump. So that hurt a lot to lose a
- 8:39Speaker 3: player of that caliber. Then you lose Xavier Lucas also
- 8:42Speaker 3: in that game. who's the other starting corner, very good player.
- 8:44Speaker 3: So you're out your two starting corners. And then on
- 8:47Speaker 3: the interior, you were just having problems. Forget injury-wise, you
- 8:50Speaker 3: were having problems just getting the right combination of guards.
- 8:54Speaker 3: So what ended up happening was you did finally find
- 8:57Speaker 3: that balance in the Clemson game. True freshman Ben Congdon,
- 9:00Speaker 3: who was healthy, came in and played really well. Max
- 9:02Speaker 3: Buchanan played a good game as the starter. And then S.J.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Al-Fatouli played well when he came in for Buchanan. Now
- 9:08Speaker 3: Buchanan is out for probably the rest of the regular season,
- 9:10Speaker 3: at least. So You finally get the right balance on
- 9:13Speaker 3: the offensive line. You play a great game against Clemson,
- 9:15Speaker 3: and then you lose your starting right guard. He had
- 9:17Speaker 3: not been like a dominant. It wasn't like Frederic where
- 9:20Speaker 3: Buchanan was a dominant player. He was part of the
- 9:23Speaker 3: inconsistencies getting better. Young player with a lot of potential.
- 9:27Speaker 3: So you're not losing like an impact guy there, but
- 9:29Speaker 3: it's a position where you've been struggling and looking for options.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Right when you found the right combo, you change it
- 9:34Speaker 3: up again. So I'd say that's the big focus. Marquise Lightfoot,
- 9:37Speaker 3: you mentioned the defensive end who has five sacks already.
- 9:40Speaker 3: He looks like he's going to be, if he stays healthy,
- 9:41Speaker 3: a double-digit sack guy this year, potential All-ACC, you know,
- 9:44Speaker 3: first-round kind of guy, former five-star. He hurt, he got
- 9:48Speaker 3: a concussion in the Clemson game.
- 9:49Speaker 2: He's fine.
- 9:50Speaker 3: He'll be back for this game. And given that Florida State's,
- 9:53Speaker 3: one of their weaknesses is their pass blocking, a guy
- 9:55Speaker 3: like Marquise Lightfoot, who, if you just, like, talk about
- 9:59Speaker 3: breakout play. on Miami he's one of those guys that
- 10:02Speaker 3: I'm not saying he's going to go as high as
- 10:04Speaker 3: this guy but it's kind of like Arville Reese where
- 10:06Speaker 3: the guy I didn't like he's a highly touted guy
- 10:08Speaker 3: he hadn't played a ton behind some good players then
- 10:10Speaker 3: he plays and he's making a huge impact and you're
- 10:12Speaker 3: kind of like wow Lightfoot is similar not saying he's
- 10:16Speaker 3: going to be top five or top 10 or whatever
- 10:18Speaker 3: Reese was but He looks like a first-round type of guy,
- 10:20Speaker 3: former five-star, who's really, really turning it on, and he'll
- 10:23Speaker 3: be healthy for this FSU game.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I think if you're Florida State, it's very difficult to
- 10:28Speaker 1: see them finding success in the ground game. And even
- 10:32Speaker 1: with getting Lucas back, and I don't think it's a
- 10:36Speaker 1: bad secondary by any means, but a secondary that has
- 10:39Speaker 1: had some struggles this year, a lot of them health-related.
- 10:43Speaker 1: I think Florida State's path here is to try and
- 10:46Speaker 1: throw the ball And I think they could have some
- 10:48Speaker 1: success with guys like Danzy and Boggs and induce. And,
- 10:51Speaker 1: you know, I think even Ashton is somewhat effective at times,
- 10:54Speaker 1: whether he's using his arm or his legs. The problem
- 10:57Speaker 1: that I think they're going to run into is exactly
- 10:59Speaker 1: what you just mentioned. I don't think they're going to
- 11:00Speaker 1: have enough time to, to block for Daniels. And that's
- 11:05Speaker 1: really where, you know, the, the path to victory becomes
- 11:07Speaker 1: pretty narrow for Florida state is, you know, we haven't
- 11:10Speaker 1: even talked about the Miami's offenses, but you've got to
- 11:13Speaker 1: score points to win. And I just don't know. I
- 11:16Speaker 1: think they've got to get really, really creative and move
- 11:19Speaker 1: the pocket a ton to even think about giving Daniels
- 11:22Speaker 1: enough time to find those targets, which if you gave
- 11:25Speaker 1: Florida State just an average offensive line, maybe they could
- 11:29Speaker 1: do that because I do like a lot of the
- 11:31Speaker 1: weapons that they've got out wide. And if there's a
- 11:34Speaker 1: place to attack this Miami defense, it is in the secondary,
- 11:36Speaker 1: but I just don't think you have enough time to
- 11:39Speaker 1: do that on Saturday with how good this defensive front
- 11:42Speaker 1: is and how not good Florida State's offensive line is.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I should have mentioned Lucas is back for this game.
- 11:48Speaker 3: He hadn't been there all year, so you get one
- 11:50Speaker 3: of your starting corners back, and that's going to make
- 11:52Speaker 3: a big difference. He was dueling with Deuce last year.
- 11:55Speaker 3: There was a big third down. I know FSU fans
- 11:57Speaker 3: want to pass interference. It ended up being called incomplete,
- 11:59Speaker 3: and that kind of, I don't want to say swung
- 12:00Speaker 3: the game, but that was when Miami really took over
- 12:03Speaker 3: in Tallahassee last year. But looking at how you deal
- 12:06Speaker 3: with this Miami team, they're number one in the country
- 12:09Speaker 3: in terms of rushing defense, like just total yards allowed.
- 12:11Speaker 3: They're number one in the country in terms of yards
- 12:13Speaker 3: per carry, so 1.9 yards per carry. And teams don't
- 12:17Speaker 3: run on them. They don't attempt to run. If there's
- 12:19Speaker 3: a rush attempt, they're the lowest. So in every rushing category,
- 12:21Speaker 3: they're pretty much number one. Now, they haven't played the
- 12:24Speaker 3: best rushing games in the country. Croma is definitely the
- 12:27Speaker 3: best back that they've faced. The quarterback can run with
- 12:30Speaker 3: Ashton Daniels. So this will be more of a test
- 12:32Speaker 3: for Miami's rush defense, but that's something you're going to see.
- 12:34Speaker 3: I think really the path to victory for FSU is
- 12:38Speaker 3: kind of like what Louisville did last year where they
- 12:43Speaker 3: couldn't block either, really. Isaac Brown caught Miami coming off
- 12:47Speaker 3: a bye, so this is also off a bye for Miami,
- 12:48Speaker 3: and Miami wasn't tackling great that first half coming off
- 12:52Speaker 3: a bye. The tackling picked up later in the game,
- 12:55Speaker 3: but first half was uncharacteristic missed tackles. Brown had some
- 12:58Speaker 3: nice drives where he was really carrying the offense, and
- 13:01Speaker 3: Miller Moss was completing a lot of short passes, keeping
- 13:05Speaker 3: the Miami offense off the field. Chris Bell, who's a
- 13:09Speaker 3: stud player, took a couple to the house, and then
- 13:12Speaker 3: Carson Beck had four turnovers.
- 13:14Speaker 2: So that's kind of what you're looking at, I think.
- 13:17Speaker 3: For FSU is the shorter passes and just controlling the
- 13:20Speaker 3: game that way, maybe running, and then running like how
- 13:22Speaker 3: Isaac Brown did in that Louisville game where you're breaking tackles,
- 13:26Speaker 3: you're making something happen, you're using your playmakers. Because this
- 13:29Speaker 3: is a very tough team to just run against consistently,
- 13:32Speaker 3: and I don't see, unless you scheme something up and
- 13:34Speaker 3: hit a big play, I don't see a consistent... drop
- 13:37Speaker 3: back and throw it down the field against these pass rushers. That,
- 13:40Speaker 3: that to me would be a tough ask. Yeah.
- 13:42Speaker 1: And then on the other side of the ball, you know,
- 13:44Speaker 1: it's kind of pick your poison with Miami's rushing attack
- 13:47Speaker 1: or their passing attack. I, I think it really depends,
- 13:51Speaker 1: you know, if you're Florida state, and you're Mike Norvell,
- 13:54Speaker 1: are you playing this game to try and survive into
- 13:57Speaker 1: the Clemson game and the rest of the season, or
- 13:59Speaker 1: are you playing this game to go out and win it? And, um,
- 14:02Speaker 1: so their offensive, their defensive strategy will be very, very
- 14:06Speaker 1: interesting to me, whether they play more like the 24
- 14:08Speaker 1: game or more like the 25 game to where they say, Hey, we're,
- 14:11Speaker 1: we're going to try and limit, we're going to try
- 14:13Speaker 1: and limit Tony Mensah and barcade, or we're going to
- 14:15Speaker 1: try and limit Mark Fletcher and these running backs. Um,
- 14:18Speaker 1: that'll certainly be interesting to kind of think about what
- 14:22Speaker 1: their strategy is, what would Miami prefer? Like would my,
- 14:26Speaker 1: does Miami, would Miami prefer that Florida state says, Hey,
- 14:30Speaker 1: we're going to try and limit Tony and Mensa and
- 14:32Speaker 1: you can run for all you want. Or would they say, yeah,
- 14:36Speaker 1: leave some things open for Tony and Mensa trying to
- 14:38Speaker 1: stop the run. And we are going to go crazy
- 14:41Speaker 1: with a score line that's in the fifties.
- 14:44Speaker 3: So, I mean, I can't speak for Miami, although I
- 14:46Speaker 3: think they agree with me here speaking personally. And I
- 14:48Speaker 3: think Miami would agree. If FSU wants to play Miami
- 14:51Speaker 3: like they did in 2024, I think they have a
- 14:54Speaker 3: very low chance of winning.
- 14:55Speaker 2: I mean, zero.
- 14:56Speaker 3: I don't think FSU in 2024 was playing to win
- 14:59Speaker 3: at all. And I think Miami's running game, 5.0.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Yards a carry.
- 15:05Speaker 3: You have Mark Fletcher, who's been productive, proven, championship caliber back.
- 15:11Speaker 3: I think Miami would love if you parked those safeties
- 15:14Speaker 3: deep and had Miami just kill you with runs all day.
- 15:17Speaker 3: I think that would be preferable. I think most defensive
- 15:19Speaker 3: coordinators are going to want to stop the run first
- 15:22Speaker 3: and at least have a chance. With the passing game,
- 15:24Speaker 3: you could have a fumble. You could have an interception.
- 15:26Speaker 3: You could have a holding call. You could have just
- 15:29Speaker 3: a lot of things go wrong. Very few things, especially
- 15:32Speaker 3: with Miami's running game, which is extremely conservative, does not
- 15:35Speaker 3: allow a lot of tackles for loss. The splits are
- 15:37Speaker 3: really tight, so you just don't see a lot of
- 15:39Speaker 3: negative plays in Miami's running game. A negative play in
- 15:42Speaker 3: Miami's running game is like two yards and they're pushing
- 15:44Speaker 3: you and kind of hurting you on the way over there. Miami...
- 15:47Speaker 3: if they're allowed to run with impunity, they will gladly
- 15:50Speaker 3: do it. And I think it'll be, it'll look like
- 15:52Speaker 3: that last drive against Clemson where Miami ran it every
- 15:55Speaker 3: single play of the drive and scored a touchdown and,
- 15:57Speaker 3: you know, it hurts. Like these guys are big and
- 15:59Speaker 3: Fletcher's big. So my opinion, I think Mario shares it
- 16:03Speaker 3: knowing his philosophy is if you let us run, we're
- 16:06Speaker 3: going to run right down your throat and it's going
- 16:08Speaker 3: to feel good. Yeah.
- 16:10Speaker 1: And the, the opposite of that is if you try
- 16:12Speaker 1: and stop the run, good luck, good luck guarding, you know, you're, you're,
- 16:17Speaker 1: I do.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Agree with you.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Like there's more that can go wrong with the passing game,
- 16:21Speaker 1: but not a lot has gone wrong with the passing game.
- 16:23Speaker 1: And so you're asking maybe the most efficient quarterback you're
- 16:26Speaker 1: asking for mistakes from the most efficient quarterback in the
- 16:30Speaker 1: country right now. And, you know, arguably the greatest weapon
- 16:35Speaker 1: out wide in the country too. So, It truly is
- 16:37Speaker 1: a pick-your-poison situation for Florida State this weekend.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Yeah, great. By the way, just the great video, not
- 16:44Speaker 3: to promote another channel, me and you have about 1,000,
- 16:47Speaker 3: but Jeff Collins.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Just add one to the list.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Yeah, Jeff Collins, who is former coach at Georgia Tech.
- 16:54Speaker 3: He worked with Mario at FIU. He had a great
- 16:56Speaker 3: breakdown of Miami's offense, and he basically said that's the
- 16:59Speaker 3: problem is You have to respect the power running game.
- 17:02Speaker 3: You cannot ignore a power running game because you get demoralized.
- 17:04Speaker 3: In Miami, that's what they do, and they have the
- 17:06Speaker 3: best power back in the country. So you can't ignore it,
- 17:09Speaker 3: but then also it limits what you can do with
- 17:11Speaker 3: a Tony.
- 17:11Speaker 2: And that's the dichotomy.
- 17:12Speaker 3: That's the problem with Miami's offense is you've got to,
- 17:15Speaker 3: like you said, pick your poison. Now, Mensah's gotten hit.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Even against Stanford, when Stanford was going, like you look
- 17:20Speaker 3: at what Stanford did, they went all in on the run. Obviously,
- 17:24Speaker 3: Malachi Tony had a highlight reel in that game. But
- 17:27Speaker 3: Mensah did get hit a couple times. Like, he got, like,
- 17:30Speaker 3: you know, you don't watch your quarterback getting hit. God
- 17:32Speaker 3: forbid he gets hurt, but that would obviously open up
- 17:34Speaker 3: a huge window to win or a bigger window to win. So, like,
- 17:38Speaker 3: Stanford hit Mensah. Mensah was just awesome in that game,
- 17:40Speaker 3: and Stanford doesn't have the athletes that FSU has, even
- 17:43Speaker 3: in a depressed state. So that would be, to me,
- 17:47Speaker 3: what I would worry about more from a Miami standpoint
- 17:50Speaker 3: is if FSU just squint balls to the wall and said,
- 17:52Speaker 3: we're going to hit Mensah and take our chances.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Danny, what do you got coming this week? Where can
- 17:56Speaker 1: people follow you if they're not already? And, uh, give
- 17:59Speaker 1: us a quick plug real quick.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Yeah, we're on every day. Kane's insight nine to whenever
- 18:04Speaker 3: 10 30, you know, depends kind of what we run
- 18:08Speaker 3: out of steam, but we're on every day for about
- 18:09Speaker 3: an hour and a half starting at 9.00 AM live
- 18:11Speaker 3: on Kane's insight. And of course, state of the state
- 18:14Speaker 3: with TJ with Allie, uh, which is, uh, I guess
- 18:17Speaker 3: the fastest growing show and something, we got to have
- 18:20Speaker 3: some kind of category for the fastest growing show. I mean,
- 18:22Speaker 3: we're getting you know, 23,000 plus on some of these
- 18:25Speaker 3: lives and we just started. So you're killing it.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Allie's great. Um, a lot of fun, man.
- 18:30Speaker 3: So hopefully we got some news this week, you know,
- 18:33Speaker 3: we'll see what happens. I mean, I know Miami fans
- 18:36Speaker 3: would be, even though we want Norvell to stay, if
- 18:39Speaker 3: he's gone, it might as well do a pink slip game.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:43Speaker 2: You get that pride.
- 18:44Speaker 1: You also get to put it on in front of
- 18:45Speaker 1: a billion recruits, which I know you've got all that
- 18:47Speaker 1: covered over at Kane's inside as well. But, uh, yeah,
- 18:50Speaker 1: I mean it, it, it feels good to, to win
- 18:53Speaker 1: those kinds of games. I, you know, I can remember
- 18:54Speaker 1: when they've happened in our favor, right. And in 22
- 18:57Speaker 1: and other games where you're just like, this is fun.
- 18:59Speaker 1: This is, this is great to watch for this three hours.
- 19:02Speaker 1: And then, you know, there's no, there's no guarantees that
- 19:05Speaker 1: Florida state gets it right with the last coach or
- 19:06Speaker 1: the next coach.
- 19:07Speaker 2: So we'll, we'll see what, what happens there.
- 19:09Speaker 1: But Danny, I appreciate you a ton for taking some time.
- 19:12Speaker 1: We appreciate our friends over at prize picks. Again, all
