- 0:04Speaker 1: It's a podcast called twenty five ways stuck in parts
- 0:08Speaker 1: and they are wearing a whist So, yeah, it's too bad.
- 0:11Speaker 2: But what did you expect?
- 0:13Speaker 1: It's a podcast called twenty five Whistles twenty line.
- 0:20Speaker 3: How we're doing this from office, so we don't have
- 0:22Speaker 3: a whistle. Everything in our main studio is broken. That's
- 0:28Speaker 3: all right, that's a right, A couple of things. A
- 0:31Speaker 3: bad day for your Cowboys with free agency.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Read there's just not there's just not a lot out there.
- 0:37Speaker 3: No, that's not the worst reason. There is a lot
- 0:39Speaker 3: out there.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Are you kidding? The article I saw headline said not
- 0:42Speaker 2: a lot in free agent.
- 0:43Speaker 3: No, here's the problem is that the market has been
- 0:47Speaker 3: set twice. Max Crosby was the highest non quarterback, and
- 0:52Speaker 3: then Miles Garrett is the highest non quarterback. And now,
- 0:55Speaker 3: if the Cowboys would assigned Micah Parsons already, they would
- 0:57Speaker 3: have saved a bunch of money. They're probably either not
- 1:00Speaker 3: going to be able to afford Micah Parsons now or
- 1:02Speaker 3: have gonna have to give even more money to get
- 1:05Speaker 3: Micah Parsons.
- 1:06Speaker 2: What is happening? But the Cowboys wait on everybody, but.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Listen, we have a businessman this is Jerry Jones is
- 1:11Speaker 4: a businessman.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Why are we making these bad business decisions? Or is
- 1:15Speaker 2: it something that we don't know understand? I don't understand this.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Well, they and you can walk through a couple of
- 1:21Speaker 3: the PAS scenarios and we won't be heavy cowboys.
- 1:23Speaker 2: But I just wanted to give you the bad news
- 1:24Speaker 2: to start. Thank you.
- 1:26Speaker 3: They waited way too long to sign Dak, and even
- 1:30Speaker 3: with Josh Allen's massive deal, because the Bills have rewarded
- 1:36Speaker 3: NFL MVP Josh Allen with a record setting six year,
- 1:38Speaker 3: three hundred and thirty million dollar contract two hundred and
- 1:41Speaker 3: fifty million dollars guaranteed, it is the largest guaranteed total
- 1:44Speaker 3: given to an NFL player. It surpasses the previous mark
- 1:47Speaker 3: of Deshaun Watson, who got to thirty guaranteed, but his
- 1:51Speaker 3: whole contract was guaranteed. The difference here is they're giving
- 1:54Speaker 3: Josh Allen to fifty guaranteed, but he also has basically another.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Eighty million dollars sniffing place.
- 2:01Speaker 3: So but Dak is still the highest paid quarterback per Ridiculously,
- 2:04Speaker 3: even after this contract, Dak is still the highest because
- 2:08Speaker 3: they waited so freaking long. The Dak is sixty million
- 2:13Speaker 3: a year.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Oh that's nice.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Gosh, can you imagine sixty million a year, I'd have
- 2:18Speaker 4: no stresses in the world.
- 2:20Speaker 2: And much of the cowboys and you gave Dak way
- 2:22Speaker 2: too much money. They're stressing. I'm talking about Dak. They're stressing.
- 2:26Speaker 2: So Michael Parsons.
- 2:29Speaker 3: Ask is going to go way up because Crosby and
- 2:33Speaker 3: Miles Garrett just kind of reset the football onetgain.
- 2:35Speaker 4: But Mike has always said he wants to be a
- 2:37Speaker 4: cowboy for his entire career, and.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Miles Garrett said he was not staying with Cleveland for
- 2:42Speaker 3: any reason. He needed to be traded and money talks.
- 2:45Speaker 3: So if a whole lot of money's coming from somewhere else,
- 2:48Speaker 3: Michael Parsons is going.
- 2:49Speaker 4: To go somewhere else, even though he man he just
- 2:51Speaker 4: wants to be a cowboy for the rest of his life.
- 2:53Speaker 3: We can do Aaron Rodgers for a second, because it
- 2:55Speaker 3: looked like over the weekend that Aaron Rodgers was gonna
- 2:57Speaker 3: be a giant because they were like Rogers, probably the giants.
- 3:00Speaker 3: And they even did the thing where they do the
- 3:02Speaker 3: kind of the photo shot the AI with the you.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Know the formula. Yeah, that's so cool.
- 3:07Speaker 3: But as of this morning at seven am Central, and
- 3:12Speaker 3: this is from ESPN, one day after trading for a
- 3:15Speaker 3: star wide receiver, the Steelers maybe closing in on a
- 3:18Speaker 3: big name quarterback. Aaron Rodgers has also emerged as a
- 3:21Speaker 3: quarterback option for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rogers and the Steelers
- 3:25Speaker 3: are expected to talk. So I'd already thought that Rogers
- 3:28Speaker 3: was going to be a giant. Did you see Rogers
- 3:30Speaker 3: to the Giants?
- 3:30Speaker 2: But week no, I didn't.
- 3:32Speaker 4: I just thought Metcalf to the Steelers. Yeah, which is bizarre.
- 3:36Speaker 4: I mean, dude, it's not bizarre.
- 3:38Speaker 2: They don't have a quarterback.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Now the Steelers have two number ones, or at least
- 3:42Speaker 3: the number one one point five. But yeah, the Steelers
- 3:46Speaker 3: they got DK Metcalf from the Seahawks for a second
- 3:50Speaker 3: round pick.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Now remember Mingo to the Cowboys.
- 3:54Speaker 4: Yeah, for a fourth or a fourth round pick, we
- 3:57Speaker 4: got Mingo, baby, which is.
- 3:59Speaker 3: Funny if it Devo went to the Commanders for a.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Fifth round pick. Yeah, it's so funny.
- 4:05Speaker 3: But the difference would be how much money they're paying
- 4:08Speaker 3: for them, because with Debo they're basically just salary dumping Devo.
- 4:11Speaker 4: Yeah, and with Mingo we were in panic mode. We
- 4:13Speaker 4: were in midseason and had no receivers.
- 4:15Speaker 3: We had ceed Lamb And also Mingo doesn't have a
- 4:17Speaker 3: huge contract, right, which is a part of it as well.
- 4:19Speaker 3: So another one is DeVante Adams to the Rams. If
- 4:24Speaker 3: you're DeVante Adams, that's pretty legit. That's where you wanted
- 4:27Speaker 3: to go. La Dome Warm Matthew Stafford as your quarterback.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Not even so much about La specifically. Oh, I was
- 4:35Speaker 2: thinking like La, but all of the variables that you
- 4:39Speaker 2: would want.
- 4:39Speaker 3: There's another number one on the team as far as Puka,
- 4:42Speaker 3: so it's not like they can just double DeVante all
- 4:46Speaker 3: day or double Puka all day. So those guys are
- 4:48Speaker 3: going to be able to at least have a little space.
- 4:53Speaker 4: And Cooper Cups there right, No, no, oh, he's gone.
- 4:56Speaker 4: Said they were training. They said, like three weeks ago.
- 4:57Speaker 4: They said, I didn't see that.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Six time Pro wide receiver Demante Adams agreed to a
- 5:01Speaker 3: two year deal with the Los Angeles Rams. Adams arrives
- 5:05Speaker 3: as the Rams prepared to move on from Cooper Cup.
- 5:07Speaker 3: The Jets released Adams March four to three weeks after
- 5:09Speaker 3: announcing they were parting with their favorite quarterback, Aaron Rodgers.
- 5:13Speaker 3: This also comes from ESPN, So a lot of movement.
- 5:16Speaker 3: It's been pretty cool to watch. I like it when
- 5:18Speaker 3: everybody starts resigning with other teams, but a lot of
- 5:22Speaker 3: the guys just re signed as well. I think they
- 5:24Speaker 3: expected a much more robust free agent market where Max
- 5:28Speaker 3: Crosby again signed the big deal. There was a point
- 5:31Speaker 3: where they had said that they had offered Geno Smith
- 5:34Speaker 3: and Max Crosby in exchange for no Geno Smith and
- 5:40Speaker 3: DK Metcalfe in exchange for Max Crosby.
- 5:42Speaker 2: They turned it down. But yeah, that's exciting, a lot
- 5:45Speaker 2: of movement.
- 5:46Speaker 3: It's fun to see players on new teams, unless it's
- 5:49Speaker 3: your team they're leaving.
- 5:50Speaker 4: I know it is fun, But then you start like
- 5:53Speaker 4: if you bought the jersey of that player, that's kind
- 5:55Speaker 4: of I hate that.
- 5:57Speaker 2: That sucks what.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Cowboys jerseys have bought my whole life.
- 6:02Speaker 2: No, now, like, do you have any of you? Do
- 6:03Speaker 2: your kids have any?
- 6:04Speaker 3: See?
- 6:04Speaker 2: Yeah, so we have. I mean we have a lot
- 6:06Speaker 2: of jerseys.
- 6:06Speaker 4: But I try to tell my kids, like, look at
- 6:08Speaker 4: the long term contract, Like Dak, just sign a long
- 6:11Speaker 4: term contract.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Get a Dak jersey.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Micah, we don't know where we don't know what Michae's
- 6:15Speaker 4: gonna say. So don't get at Micah Jersey. I have
- 6:17Speaker 4: a Ceedee Lamb jersey.
- 6:19Speaker 3: I gave one of your kids to signed Michael Jersey.
- 6:22Speaker 4: They don't wear those. Those are on the wall, got it.
- 6:24Speaker 4: They will not wear those, got it. We put those
- 6:26Speaker 4: on the wall. And then for me, it's just Ceedee Lamb.
- 6:30Speaker 4: But I do have like back in the day, Drew
- 6:31Speaker 4: Bloodsoe Cowboys jersey. That's weird, isn't that weird? And he
- 6:35Speaker 4: played for one year maybe for the Cowboys, that's weird, but.
- 6:38Speaker 5: I thought it was.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Don't think Drew Blodshall playing with the Cowboys at all.
- 6:41Speaker 4: No, dude, it was his last. Like I mean, I'm
- 6:43Speaker 4: gonna try one more team and then we're going by bye.
- 6:45Speaker 4: We're gonna start making wine for the rest of my life.
- 6:47Speaker 4: He retired after that, Yes, I believe so. He may
- 6:50Speaker 4: have gone somewhere else, but I think that was the
- 6:53Speaker 4: last team.
- 6:54Speaker 3: I think pretty much. Those are the big moves that happened.
- 6:57Speaker 3: They it still fluid. So by the time you hear this, uh,
- 7:00Speaker 3: there could have.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Been eight or nine.
- 7:02Speaker 4: Aaron Jones staying with Kings. Yeah, a lot of stain,
- 7:06Speaker 4: which is always good.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Sam Donald end up going to Seattle.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Are you still Sam believer or were you Sam offense
- 7:14Speaker 4: system believer?
- 7:17Speaker 2: Neither? I didn't care enough. Okay, I still don't believe
- 7:19Speaker 2: in Sam Donald. What I just don't like? I don't I.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Don't do you believe the quarterbacks can be put in
- 7:24Speaker 3: bad places and so they stuck concerned a bad place?
- 7:26Speaker 2: Absolutely? Okay, well that's what happened to Sam Donald.
- 7:28Speaker 4: But I feel like that that was an example of
- 7:30Speaker 4: the good Sam Donald in a good offense. Now he's
- 7:32Speaker 4: gonna go to another offense. I don't know if he's
- 7:34Speaker 4: gonna be as good. I'm not a Sam Donald believer.
- 7:36Speaker 2: That's it. Okay, let me pay NFL Eddi's not there yet.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Are you talking to them right now?
- 7:41Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 7:41Speaker 2: I got to move. He is not with Sam Donald yet.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Now what do you think, NFL?
- 7:45Speaker 3: I'm still like, yeah, I don't care, but I think
- 7:48Speaker 3: he's better than people give him credit for.
- 7:50Speaker 2: See, that's the crap I'm talking about.
- 7:51Speaker 3: With two really bad systems, and the first time he
- 7:53Speaker 3: had a chance to thrive, he really thrived, and so
- 7:56Speaker 3: I would look at that.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, no, no, he he's an idiot.
- 7:58Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 7:58Speaker 2: I don't want to tell you. Oh they called me
- 8:01Speaker 2: a good blooze Cowboys Jersey. Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 8:03Speaker 2: All right, Uh talk to Elster. Get all right, he goes,
- 8:09Speaker 2: that's all you need to say. Let's take it break.
- 8:11Speaker 3: We'll come back with Damon Sotomeyer, who is the head
- 8:13Speaker 3: coach of Georgia Tech men's basketball and also a crazy
- 8:18Speaker 3: NBA player from back in the day as well. All right,
- 8:26Speaker 3: let's go over now to Damon Sotomayer, NBA Rookie of
- 8:29Speaker 3: the Year, but also head coach of Georgia Tech. And
- 8:33Speaker 3: they play in the AHC Tournament. Their game is Wednesday,
- 8:36Speaker 3: and they played Virginia on Wednesday.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Correct, correct?
- 8:39Speaker 5: All right?
- 8:39Speaker 3: Coach Dota Meyer played fourteen years in the league for
- 8:41Speaker 3: the Raptors and the Grizzlies and the Spurs, and it's
- 8:44Speaker 3: his second year at Georgia Tech as head basketball coach.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Here he is coach Damons Dottamyer, Hey, coach.
- 8:49Speaker 3: First thing, the colorway of that hoodie, Like that's the
- 8:52Speaker 3: most legit Georgia Tech color, Like the dark blue and
- 8:55Speaker 3: the gold there, Like that's that's the best Georgia Tech hoodie.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Athletic apparel I've seen.
- 9:01Speaker 5: Do you get to pick that you're talking about the
- 9:03Speaker 5: one I have on?
- 9:04Speaker 3: Yeah, the one you have on right now, Like I
- 9:05Speaker 3: haven't seen that one before.
- 9:07Speaker 5: Yeah, it's nice. Yeah, and this is actually last year's Jordan.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Yeah, that's like I like Georgia Tech and like the colors,
- 9:16Speaker 3: but that's like the most legitim one I've seen. How
- 9:18Speaker 3: much do you have input on uniforms, like the stuff
- 9:22Speaker 3: your team's wearing.
- 9:23Speaker 5: I'm picky. I'd definitely like to see it first before
- 9:26Speaker 5: it goes before it goes goes under. So yeah, I
- 9:32Speaker 5: try to pick all the good stuff, or at least
- 9:34Speaker 5: the stuff that I think is good.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Is there a limit on how much players can have?
- 9:37Speaker 3: Because I be eating all up? If I was there,
- 9:38Speaker 3: I take all the free stuff.
- 9:41Speaker 5: No, there's no limit you can get every day.
- 9:43Speaker 2: I'm gonna play for you.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Then I'm in. I just committed to you, coach. If
- 9:46Speaker 3: it's all, if I get it all. A couple questions,
- 9:49Speaker 3: and I want to start first with how do you
- 9:52Speaker 3: generally feel about NET being used? Because I feel like
- 9:56Speaker 3: it's all NET right now when it comes to how
- 9:58Speaker 3: they're evaluating teams.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, I'm from the old school, so I
- 10:04Speaker 5: just feel like it should be strength to schedule, like
- 10:08Speaker 5: how it used to be back in the day. I mean, essentially,
- 10:11Speaker 5: you're putting, you're putting things behind, you're putting, you're putting
- 10:17Speaker 5: you know, formulas behind systems. But really it should just
- 10:23Speaker 5: to me, it's probably should just be the strength to
- 10:26Speaker 5: schedule that you play, how those teams are doing, you
- 10:30Speaker 5: know who they're doing it against, and you know that's
- 10:33Speaker 5: how it used to be, and you know, I feel
- 10:35Speaker 5: like that's I think that that would help, you know,
- 10:38Speaker 5: college basketball out a lot.
- 10:40Speaker 3: Honestly, I was looking at the quad one, Quad two,
- 10:44Speaker 3: Quad three, Quad four for you guys, But what would
- 10:46Speaker 3: be confusing for me is some of those games shift
- 10:49Speaker 3: and a team that's the Quad one can fall into
- 10:51Speaker 3: a Quad two and you never really have a full
- 10:54Speaker 3: grasp of the net. Is weird because it is so formulae.
- 10:57Speaker 3: I think you guys got two quad win wins over
- 10:59Speaker 3: Louisville and Clemson. So do you talk about that quad
- 11:03Speaker 3: one Quad two stuff with your team at all?
- 11:07Speaker 5: I don't. I don't talk about it. You know, we
- 11:09Speaker 5: hadn't been in that scenario, to be honest with you,
- 11:12Speaker 5: but I haven't talked about it. I try to just
- 11:15Speaker 5: go out there and win as many games as were
- 11:17Speaker 5: supposed to win, you know, I just think, you know,
- 11:21Speaker 5: that's the way to go. And you know, sometimes things
- 11:25Speaker 5: fall as they may. I think like this year especially,
- 11:29Speaker 5: and we would have handled some things earlier. You know,
- 11:31Speaker 5: there's some games I wish we had back. I think
- 11:33Speaker 5: we'd be we would be right in the middle of
- 11:35Speaker 5: the discussion.
- 11:37Speaker 3: What game mostly haunts you?
- 11:38Speaker 5: You know, earlier in the year, we we we weren't right.
- 11:42Speaker 5: We lost to North Florida. Then, you know, I feel
- 11:47Speaker 5: like the other game that that we were winning basically
- 11:53Speaker 5: for thirty eight minutes was Notre Dame and Notre Dame,
- 11:56Speaker 5: and we ended up losing that game. You know, just
- 11:58Speaker 5: looking back at those two, those two scenarios, if you
- 12:03Speaker 5: win those, Now you're eighteen and twelve, and you know
- 12:07Speaker 5: you're probably in the discussion.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Do you feel like it's still twenty went? That was
- 12:11Speaker 3: always the thing twenty ons and you know, you're definitely
- 12:13Speaker 3: in the discussion you might get in. Do you still
- 12:15Speaker 3: feel like it's around twenty now?
- 12:16Speaker 5: Yeah, it's still the same way. I think that's never
- 12:19Speaker 5: gonna change. I think if you get around twenty, if
- 12:21Speaker 5: you can get eighteen eighteen to twenty year, you'll be writing.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Play going into the conference tournament. Are you already looking
- 12:28Speaker 3: at who you might play? Is that in consideration at all?
- 12:32Speaker 3: Are you just trying to get the best see possible?
- 12:34Speaker 1: You know?
- 12:34Speaker 5: I like the way our team is playing right now.
- 12:36Speaker 5: That's the biggest thing for me. I just love the
- 12:37Speaker 5: way we're playing on both sides of the ball. We're
- 12:39Speaker 5: playing connected, we're playing intentional, and we're playing with a
- 12:43Speaker 5: sense urgency.
- 12:44Speaker 3: What do you feel like has been the most growth?
- 12:47Speaker 3: It's your second year from year one to year or
- 12:49Speaker 3: two with you and with your team.
- 12:51Speaker 5: For me, the biggest growth has just I've had to
- 12:55Speaker 5: get back to just the teaching part of it. With
- 12:57Speaker 5: all the injuries that we've had this year, teaching has
- 13:02Speaker 5: become paramount even more because we don't have as much
- 13:06Speaker 5: practice time. But strategically trying to formulate something each and
- 13:13Speaker 5: every game is gonna put us in the best position
- 13:15Speaker 5: to be successful with our numbers. Has been has been
- 13:19Speaker 5: something that I've had to do and so for me,
- 13:22Speaker 5: to be honest, this year basketball from a coaching standpoint
- 13:26Speaker 5: has been the hardest, but yet the funnest year that
- 13:30Speaker 5: I've ever had been a head coach because of that
- 13:33Speaker 5: and my team. The growth in my team is is
- 13:35Speaker 5: that I think they finally understand the assignment. We went
- 13:40Speaker 5: through some ups and downs early, some peaks and valleys,
- 13:43Speaker 5: but I think that, you know, we had to learn
- 13:45Speaker 5: how to play hard, we had to learn how to
- 13:47Speaker 5: play with toughness, we had to learn how to play smart,
- 13:52Speaker 5: and then the last part of that was learning how
- 13:54Speaker 5: to win. And I think they've done that.
- 13:56Speaker 3: Bragg On one of your guys, like, who have you
- 13:58Speaker 3: seen developed? Maybe not even be like the guy, but
- 14:00Speaker 3: who have you seen developed the most this season?
- 14:03Speaker 5: I would say, uh, you know, we have. We have
- 14:05Speaker 5: three guys. We have two guys that I think that
- 14:08Speaker 5: we looked to play well from jump and so that's
- 14:11Speaker 5: Nate George and Bayan Doneo. But the guy that has
- 14:13Speaker 5: grown and has gotten better within the system this being
- 14:17Speaker 5: his first year, I think is Duncan pau. Uh. He's
- 14:21Speaker 5: really uh, he's really growing to a role here, a
- 14:25Speaker 5: guy that we relied on. You know, he he he
- 14:29Speaker 5: had some bumps in the road early on in the season,
- 14:31Speaker 5: but then as the injuries mounted, you know, he got
- 14:35Speaker 5: more minutes and his play picked up to where he
- 14:37Speaker 5: is at today. And you know, I feel like, you know,
- 14:40Speaker 5: he's as big a part of our success as anyone.
- 14:43Speaker 3: I played two K and I played the nineties decade,
- 14:46Speaker 3: and you got MVP two years in a row for me,
- 14:48Speaker 3: and I was feeling pretty good about it. You ever
- 14:50Speaker 3: watch you ever see yourself on video games? You guys
- 14:52Speaker 3: ever play and be like coach, I was playing with you.
- 14:54Speaker 5: You know what. I quit playing video games a long
- 14:56Speaker 5: time ago. But at the same time, too, I'm a
- 15:01Speaker 5: little pissed off because I did see my rating. I
- 15:03Speaker 5: didn't like the rat rating. My rating was. My rating
- 15:07Speaker 5: was a little bit too low. I really didn't like that.
- 15:10Speaker 3: When you get drafted, because I think you went seventh
- 15:12Speaker 3: overall and you go to Toronto, How did you feel
- 15:16Speaker 3: about going to Canada to play ball.
- 15:19Speaker 5: I didn't know too much about Canada at that time,
- 15:21Speaker 5: didn't know too much about Toronto, West Coast guy, so
- 15:25Speaker 5: I was more familiar actually with Vancouver, BC. But uh,
- 15:32Speaker 5: when I got to Toronto, I was I loved it.
- 15:34Speaker 5: What a great city, the fans were great, everything was new.
- 15:38Speaker 5: So from that standpoint, you didn't know what to expect
- 15:42Speaker 5: but I loved it, you know, to me at that
- 15:45Speaker 5: time when I went, it was, uh, it was it
- 15:49Speaker 5: was like a cleaner, cleaner version of the East Coast.
- 15:53Speaker 5: You know, everything was just nice. They had great shopping,
- 15:56Speaker 5: they had great food, they had you know, great scenery,
- 16:00Speaker 5: and I enjoyed my time there.
- 16:02Speaker 3: I have friends that played college ball that went to
- 16:04Speaker 3: play in the NFL, and they talk about the speed difference.
- 16:07Speaker 3: And so when you go from Arizona to Toronto, because
- 16:10Speaker 3: you did one Rookie of the Year, like, what is
- 16:12Speaker 3: that speed difference from going Arizona to the NBA.
- 16:16Speaker 5: It was definitely it was definitely a it was definitely different.
- 16:22Speaker 5: You're expected to know. Let's say that I was a
- 16:27Speaker 5: you know, back then, there wasn't a whole lot of
- 16:28Speaker 5: guys leaving school early, so most of us were mature.
- 16:31Speaker 5: We were twenty one when we got to the NBA.
- 16:33Speaker 5: So there was things that we knew that maybe the
- 16:35Speaker 5: kids today don't. And so you were expected to be
- 16:38Speaker 5: a further aloan or if you weren't, you know, honestly,
- 16:42Speaker 5: coaches called you dumb back then, you know, and you
- 16:44Speaker 5: just didn't play at all. And so the speed of
- 16:47Speaker 5: the game was different. The Reids were different. I think
- 16:51Speaker 5: that you know, guys level of basketball IQ was totally different,
- 16:57Speaker 5: and you still had guys that were good, didn't know
- 17:00Speaker 5: a lot and you had to do the thinking for him.
- 17:01Speaker 5: But for the most part, you know, they were There
- 17:04Speaker 5: were really good players that maybe didn't have a physical
- 17:10Speaker 5: physical tools, but they were definitely mentally, you know, aware
- 17:14Speaker 5: and had a great feel in IQ for the game.
- 17:17Speaker 3: When you're talking to kids, either in the portal or
- 17:19Speaker 3: if you're a recruiting freshman, you're talking to the parents,
- 17:21Speaker 3: do you use or how do you use your NBA
- 17:24Speaker 3: background to convince them that you and Georgia Tech are
- 17:28Speaker 3: right for them.
- 17:29Speaker 5: Well, I use my I used my NBA background to
- 17:32Speaker 5: get into the coaching aspect of it, and then I
- 17:35Speaker 5: sell you know, me being here at Georgia Tech. I think,
- 17:40Speaker 5: you know a lot of the times when I retired
- 17:44Speaker 5: from from the NBA, I tried to lead the NBA
- 17:46Speaker 5: right there. But as I've got into coach and obviously
- 17:50Speaker 5: it is a big part of the draw for me,
- 17:53Speaker 5: me being a thirteen year pro and so I definitely
- 17:56Speaker 5: lean on that. I lean on all my experiences I
- 17:59Speaker 5: talked to you know, a lot of the lot of
- 18:01Speaker 5: the parents and and the UH and the kids about
- 18:06Speaker 5: those experiences, and especially with the N I L area nowadays,
- 18:10Speaker 5: you know, it's very rare that you're gonna get a
- 18:12Speaker 5: coach that really setting their seat and understands their positioning.
- 18:15Speaker 5: Now that doesn't mean they'll always listen to me, but
- 18:18Speaker 5: I've been in that seat, and I always say, you know,
- 18:20Speaker 5: what you're getting to me is a triple threat. You're
- 18:22Speaker 5: getting more than a basketball coach. You know you're getting
- 18:25Speaker 5: You're getting a mentor. And that mentorship can be in anything.
- 18:29Speaker 5: It can It can be whether it's off the floor,
- 18:32Speaker 5: dealing with with with learning how to say no, uh,
- 18:36Speaker 5: dealing with your finances, you know, dealing with the pressures
- 18:39Speaker 5: that it that it takes to be successful. Or it
- 18:42Speaker 5: could be or it could be you know, from a
- 18:44Speaker 5: basketball standpoint, how to how to get get out of
- 18:47Speaker 5: a slump. You know how to manage expectation, you know
- 18:50Speaker 5: how to how to manage start them. You know different things.
- 18:53Speaker 5: So you're getting a whole lot UH to unpack when
- 18:57Speaker 5: you come play for me.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Do you have a run full court with the guys.
- 19:01Speaker 5: I'm not gonna lie to you. I'll do half court,
- 19:04Speaker 5: but I'm not doing anything.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Ye yeah, I feel that full court is a different
- 19:10Speaker 3: that's an animal I t I went to coach I
- 19:12Speaker 3: went to Coach Col's like camp, and I'm a Arkansas guy,
- 19:16Speaker 3: but I went I'm in good shape, but full court
- 19:18Speaker 3: is a different kind of shape. It's just it's it's
- 19:20Speaker 3: a different monster.
- 19:22Speaker 5: It's a different beast man in basketball. I didn't play
- 19:26Speaker 5: professionally any other sport obviously, but basketball fatigue is different
- 19:32Speaker 5: type of fatigue. You you muscles a sore that you
- 19:35Speaker 5: didn't even think you had when you when you run
- 19:38Speaker 5: up and down that court.
- 19:39Speaker 3: So do you condition your guys like doing strict conditioning
- 19:43Speaker 3: or do you play them into shape when the season starting.
- 19:47Speaker 5: I do both. This year, I've had to do different
- 19:50Speaker 5: based on our injuries. So what I what I do
- 19:54Speaker 5: this year is, you know, I do ladders, you know,
- 19:56Speaker 5: different things. So well, we just run and it's not punishment,
- 19:59Speaker 5: but due to the lack of bodies that we have,
- 20:01Speaker 5: we got to still get the conditioning in. So I've
- 20:04Speaker 5: had to do things a little different this season. But
- 20:07Speaker 5: for the most part, I like I like basketball shape.
- 20:09Speaker 5: I like them to play basketball to get in basketball shape.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Who has the most green of lights on your team?
- 20:16Speaker 3: The most green Yeah it's a green light, but maybe
- 20:18Speaker 3: not always. Who has the most green light on your team?
- 20:20Speaker 5: You know what, there's a couple of these guys that
- 20:26Speaker 5: they think they got the green light. And you know what,
- 20:29Speaker 5: there's about three or four guys. Again it's based on
- 20:32Speaker 5: my numbers, there's about three or four guys that you know,
- 20:35Speaker 5: I don't mind. I don't mind that they shoot at all.
- 20:37Speaker 5: To be honest with you, that's not my biggest thing.
- 20:40Speaker 5: Just play hard. You know, we can make the shots up.
- 20:42Speaker 5: But if you play hard, I can live with that.
- 20:47Speaker 3: How often and even during games, are you using or
- 20:50Speaker 3: listening to analytics?
- 20:52Speaker 5: I listen to it a lot, you know, I don't.
- 20:56Speaker 5: I don't necessarily listen to it all in certain respects,
- 21:01Speaker 5: only because I believe that, you know, college is different
- 21:08Speaker 5: from the pros. So you have some players that an analytically,
- 21:13Speaker 5: you know, they just don't fit that box, so to speak.
- 21:17Speaker 5: But that doesn't mean they can't help you in the game.
- 21:19Speaker 5: And so I have to rely on just the feel
- 21:22Speaker 5: of basketball and me playing to get me through those moments.
- 21:25Speaker 5: But I do listen to I do listen to a
- 21:27Speaker 5: lot of that analytical, analytical ways to be successful on
- 21:32Speaker 5: the basketball court.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I feel like your position even watching you play, because
- 21:35Speaker 3: I watched you play a lot, that you were coach
- 21:39Speaker 3: on the court. You kind of got to be that one.
- 21:40Speaker 3: You're a point guard anyway, but even extra But as
- 21:43Speaker 3: soon as you came out, you went right into coaching.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Was that always the plan?
- 21:47Speaker 1: Now?
- 21:47Speaker 5: I wasn't. But you know what happened is you know,
- 21:51Speaker 5: I tell you I called myself. It was let's just
- 21:54Speaker 5: let's just call it a mini retirement. So I I
- 21:58Speaker 5: probably wasn't out. Well, well, it was definitely less than
- 22:04Speaker 5: a year. But I'm trying to frame it for you
- 22:07Speaker 5: to get your picture. Okay, So this is what it was.
- 22:09Speaker 5: So around September is when guys start, you know, you
- 22:11Speaker 5: start working out around in the shape. So then into
- 22:14Speaker 5: September guys start moving on and go to camp. So
- 22:17Speaker 5: obviously I wasn't going to camp. And so what happened
- 22:21Speaker 5: is is I was like waking up, I'll go get
- 22:24Speaker 5: me a workout, I'll go run some airs, and I'll
- 22:27Speaker 5: be like, man, this is it. And it was only
- 22:29Speaker 5: about you know, nine thirty ten o'clock. So I was
- 22:32Speaker 5: like I gotta figure this out because it's not gonna work,
- 22:35Speaker 5: you know, because what happens is as a regimented athlete,
- 22:39Speaker 5: you know, you get used to structure, and so I
- 22:42Speaker 5: wanted structure. You know, I like structure. And you might
- 22:46Speaker 5: hear and you know, think about this. There's a lot
- 22:51Speaker 5: of athletes to talk about when they about struggling when
- 22:54Speaker 5: they you know, leave professional sports, retire whatever, that might
- 22:58Speaker 5: be a lot of the struggle is because there's no structure.
- 23:01Speaker 5: You gotta have structure. I don't necessarily believe in the
- 23:05Speaker 5: added notion, well, I got enough money, I can go
- 23:07Speaker 5: do what I want to. Man, I want to live
- 23:09Speaker 5: another fifty years. And I retired at thirty five, so
- 23:12Speaker 5: I want to live another fifty years. So the money
- 23:14Speaker 5: I made in the NBA, regardless of if I had
- 23:17Speaker 5: it or didn't have it, which I did have it, man,
- 23:20Speaker 5: it ain't enough. I gotta keep getting it right. So
- 23:22Speaker 5: what better way than to get into coaching. And I
- 23:26Speaker 5: say this, everybody talks about getting that PhD in something.
- 23:29Speaker 5: I got my PhD in basketball, So why not stay
- 23:32Speaker 5: in basketball?
- 23:33Speaker 3: I got three final questions for you, coach, and I
- 23:36Speaker 3: was reading what Brad Stevens was saying about you, and
- 23:38Speaker 3: he loved you, at least if you read what he says,
- 23:40Speaker 3: like he thought, you know, thought the world of you.
- 23:42Speaker 3: What was he like to work for?
- 23:44Speaker 5: I love Brad too. He was really good to me.
- 23:47Speaker 5: And you know, the thing that I appreciated about him
- 23:50Speaker 5: the most he allowed He allowed me to pick his brain.
- 23:54Speaker 5: There's not too many times you come across someone that
- 23:57Speaker 5: number one is a good person, but then number two
- 24:01Speaker 5: is just how smart he is, and you know, the
- 24:04Speaker 5: critical thinker that he is. And that's what I appreciated
- 24:06Speaker 5: about him, and just being in Boston in general, and
- 24:10Speaker 5: the knowledge that he shared about the successes in the
- 24:14Speaker 5: and the failures of his coaching career, and those things
- 24:18Speaker 5: are things that I didn't take for granted and and
- 24:21Speaker 5: and they're things that have helped shape me, you know,
- 24:24Speaker 5: as I left Boston. But he was really a really
- 24:27Speaker 5: good good Boston a really good person to be around
- 24:30Speaker 5: and learn from.
- 24:32Speaker 3: So what do you gotta do this season? Like, what's
- 24:34Speaker 3: the ceiling for you guys?
- 24:35Speaker 5: You know, we got a lot of basketball left in
- 24:37Speaker 5: us and you know, we were peaking at the right time.
- 24:41Speaker 5: So I'm extremely interested to see how the next month
- 24:46Speaker 5: looks for us. But I'm I'm I'm excited and can't
- 24:50Speaker 5: wait to see what happens.
- 24:52Speaker 3: Final question, You played against some of the best, who
- 24:56Speaker 3: was the hardest to guard?
- 25:01Speaker 5: This is what I say, So, you know, it's funny.
- 25:03Speaker 5: I just had you know, I was just talking about
- 25:05Speaker 5: this too with my coaches in practice, and I think
- 25:08Speaker 5: I was listening to some I was listening to some
- 25:11Speaker 5: talk on a sports talk show the other day. I'm
- 25:14Speaker 5: gonna say it was Alan Iverson, you know, for me,
- 25:20Speaker 5: and that's because uh, his you know, basketball ability obviously,
- 25:28Speaker 5: but it was his competitiveness, it was his toughness, it
- 25:33Speaker 5: was his will to win. And I was always amazed
- 25:37Speaker 5: at his stamina. I was always amazed at that he
- 25:44Speaker 5: was a guy that never got tired. He never got tired,
- 25:47Speaker 5: and he laid it on the line each and ever game.
- 25:50Speaker 5: And you know, he was to me, next to Isaiah Thomas,
- 25:56Speaker 5: you know, the best little man to play the game.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Coach rooting for you guys the rest of the year.
- 26:02Speaker 3: We appreciate the time. Again, that's the most legit Georgia
- 26:05Speaker 3: Tech hoodie I've ever seen. Loved the color scheme, LIKEEP,
- 26:08Speaker 3: Keep up the good work. Love to see season one
- 26:10Speaker 3: to season two and uh we'll be rooting for you
- 26:12Speaker 3: and hope to talk to you again sometime soon. Coach,
- 26:14Speaker 3: thanks you for the time.
- 26:15Speaker 5: Well real real fast to thank you. But I got
- 26:17Speaker 5: PTSDC in that Arkansas football helmet up there because they
- 26:21Speaker 5: put me out the final four. I didn't beat Arkansas
- 26:23Speaker 5: one time. When I was an undergrad. I was for three.
- 26:26Speaker 3: Hey, that's for three as coach. That's Nolan Rigson right there, Coach,
- 26:30Speaker 3: that's my guy, That's who it was.
- 26:32Speaker 5: Man. I'm still mad. I'm still mad at them guys,
- 26:35Speaker 5: but I love them all. I'm mad at him, but
- 26:38Speaker 5: I still love them all at the same time. Small fact.
- 26:41Speaker 5: Then I'm gone. Scottie Thurman was my roommate in the
- 26:45Speaker 5: good Will Games back in ninety four, so he let me.
- 26:47Speaker 5: He let me hear it every damn day that they
- 26:50Speaker 5: beat us, and they beat us in the semi finals
- 26:52Speaker 5: that year.
- 26:52Speaker 3: Scotty Thurmery hit the shot that did it, that three
- 26:55Speaker 3: that won at all for us. Baby, It's awesome.
- 26:57Speaker 5: Yes, coach, thank you.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Hope you have a great rest of that.
- 27:00Speaker 6: All right now, you too, All right, Sam, we got
- 27:03Speaker 6: a message from this lawyer that we're going to work
- 27:05Speaker 6: with as far as setting up this pickleball match, and
- 27:09Speaker 6: he wrote to us, so we're gonna talk to him
- 27:11Speaker 6: probably on next week's episode.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Say it looked up some ideas had to set up
- 27:15Speaker 3: his escrow for the pickleball challenge. He says it's probably
- 27:18Speaker 3: better to refer to it as a competition involving skill
- 27:22Speaker 3: rather than a bet, and call it an entry fee
- 27:24Speaker 3: one thousand dollars with the winner getting two thousand dollars.
- 27:27Speaker 2: He's already a smart lawyer. Yeah, We're all like, we
- 27:30Speaker 2: made a bet doing mere Venmo, so we're idiots. We
- 27:36Speaker 2: will talk to him. We're gonna record it later this week.
- 27:39Speaker 3: We'll have him on probably the episode Monday of next week,
- 27:43Speaker 3: and from there we will start trying to line up
- 27:45Speaker 3: the pickleball.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Challenge if the guy doesn't back out.
- 27:47Speaker 4: I saw that you booked a lawyer, and I'm like,
- 27:49Speaker 4: oh my gosh, Like who did he get? I was thinking,
- 27:50Speaker 4: like Saul, you know saw Goodman is his name? Yeah,
- 27:52Speaker 4: from everybody knows Saul or whatever like, but no, after
- 27:56Speaker 4: reading that we got a legit lawyer.
- 27:58Speaker 2: On the line, you thought I would just find and
- 28:00Speaker 2: some got the bad suit. Yeah, yeah, like Nickel am chaser.
- 28:04Speaker 2: So he's gonna be on next week and we will
- 28:07Speaker 2: move forward with that.
- 28:09Speaker 3: Philadelphia Eagles made Saquon the highest paid running back in
- 28:12Speaker 3: NFL history.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Running Backs still don't make any money.
- 28:14Speaker 3: They make a lot of money relatively speaking, but yeah,
- 28:18Speaker 3: twenty million a year, I mean receive the best receivers
- 28:21Speaker 3: make way more than that. Miles Garrett makes way more
- 28:23Speaker 3: than that. You guys aren't going to believe this, but
- 28:25Speaker 3: there was a day when running backs were actually important. Yes, yes,
- 28:28Speaker 3: like when running backs made them arguably around the most.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Quarterbacks still got paid the best, but running backs used
- 28:37Speaker 3: to get paid like they were three down backs. Emmitt Smith,
- 28:42Speaker 3: I mean, you can go through all those guys from
- 28:44Speaker 3: like the late nineties, but unless you can catch the ball,
- 28:47Speaker 3: unless you can play play a little h back, I mean,
- 28:51Speaker 3: you're just not really going to get paid. I mean,
- 28:53Speaker 3: Debo's making twenty million a year, Saquon is making twenty
- 28:58Speaker 3: million a year.
- 28:58Speaker 4: Yeah, And if you would put them so by side
- 29:00Speaker 4: of you're like, Saquan's a superstar.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Yeah, but Debo plays wide receivers. Yeah, he's a receiver.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Wide receivers are a bit more important.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Now Kobe and Jordan's debut jerseys are going up for
- 29:11Speaker 3: sale two prize. The NBA jersey are about it the
- 29:13Speaker 3: auction block and could go for a combined twenty million dollars.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, Petherbys will soon be featuring NBA debut
- 29:18Speaker 3: jerseys from Michael Jordan and Kobe in auctions. The Jordan
- 29:22Speaker 3: jersey is from his pre season debut in nineteen eighty four,
- 29:25Speaker 3: it is autographed.
- 29:26Speaker 2: That auction is March twelfth.
- 29:28Speaker 3: The Kobe jersey is from his regular season debut in
- 29:30Speaker 3: nineteen ninety six, and the auction is set to begin
- 29:33Speaker 3: on April tenth. To date, the most expensive jersey ever
- 29:37Speaker 3: sold was his last Last Dance jersey from the ninety
- 29:40Speaker 3: NBA Finals.
- 29:42Speaker 2: It went for ten point one million dollars in twenty
- 29:44Speaker 2: twenty two. Signed, it doesn't say, It doesn't say if
- 29:48Speaker 2: it was signed or not, but that almost doesn't matter.
- 29:51Speaker 3: When a jersey is that expensive, it doesn't make it
- 29:54Speaker 3: that much more valuablecause you could probably pay Michael Jordan
- 29:56Speaker 3: to undred fift thousand dollars to sign it, and he
- 29:59Speaker 3: would sign it. But it's about it being from that
- 30:01Speaker 3: game and game warn But I would be so nervous
- 30:04Speaker 3: to buy this, even if I had a lot of money,
- 30:08Speaker 3: because the resell on this, there's just so many people
- 30:11Speaker 3: that can buy this. It's a very limited amount of
- 30:14Speaker 3: people that can spend ten million. And if you're buying it,
- 30:16Speaker 3: you're probably buying it as an investment piece to have
- 30:20Speaker 3: to try to sell back in three, five, seven years.
- 30:22Speaker 4: Okay, I would hope so, because I was thinking somebody
- 30:24Speaker 4: would just buy it because they're like, Wow, they want
- 30:26Speaker 4: to have that jersey.
- 30:27Speaker 2: But that doesn't make any sense to me. Investment makes
- 30:31Speaker 2: a lot of sense to me. Well, if you're really rich,
- 30:33Speaker 2: you can just have it.
- 30:34Speaker 3: But I mean, you buy it the same way you'd
- 30:35Speaker 3: buy art, or the same way you would buy something
- 30:38Speaker 3: that you hope grows in value, because even if you
- 30:40Speaker 3: buy it to have it, at some point, you want
- 30:41Speaker 3: to be able to sell it back if you need to.
- 30:43Speaker 3: And if Michael Jordan like touches a kid or robs
- 30:49Speaker 3: a bank and he has it, God forbid, yes, and
- 30:51Speaker 3: he hasn't. But when you buy somebody's jersey that's alive,
- 30:56Speaker 3: that's like naming a school after somebody.
- 30:57Speaker 2: You got to wait till they're Dead's yeah, mistake I mean,
- 31:00Speaker 2: Kobe's will sell not as much as Jordan's, but I mean.
- 31:08Speaker 3: You know, Kobe got he had some he has some headlines,
- 31:10Speaker 3: but he can't do anything work, He can't do anything
- 31:12Speaker 3: now that whatever happened, that's it.
- 31:14Speaker 2: And nobody even talks about that anymore. Like and I
- 31:17Speaker 2: don't even know and where the charges dropped eventually, I
- 31:20Speaker 2: think they made a settlement. But don't say maybe because
- 31:24Speaker 2: that's that's true, that's true.
- 31:25Speaker 5: We don't know.
- 31:25Speaker 4: Maybe Kevin was right, though Kevin's right, like, we don't.
- 31:28Speaker 4: No one ever talked about that again.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Yeah, they were dismissed about it. They were dismissed. Yeah
- 31:34Speaker 2: see maybe.
- 31:35Speaker 4: Nope, they were dismissed and dismissed, difference and settled, dismissed
- 31:39Speaker 4: difference and no civil trial like no money was was.
- 31:47Speaker 3: In two thousand and four, Kobe Bryant that an NBA star,
- 31:49Speaker 3: was accused of sexual assault by a woman. The woman
- 31:51Speaker 3: elects at Bryant had assaulted her in a hotel room.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Prosecutors dropped the charges just before the case was scheduled
- 31:56Speaker 3: to go to trial. Civil lawsuits. The one filed a
- 31:59Speaker 3: civil law student against Bryant, which was later settl out
- 32:01Speaker 3: of court, so there was right, so criminally dropped but settled.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Out of court. So running money there but nothing else
- 32:10Speaker 2: is can happen. Yeah, that's why we don't have Bill
- 32:13Speaker 2: Cosby Elementary. You think there ever was and they're like,
- 32:17Speaker 2: take that sign down now, I don't know. I know
- 32:19Speaker 2: they pulled back like doctorates, honorary doctorates from him.
- 32:22Speaker 3: Yeah, like if I screwed it up real bad someway,
- 32:24Speaker 3: they'd pull mine immediately from the University of Arkansas.
- 32:27Speaker 2: So those jerseys will go up, which is pretty cool.
- 32:30Speaker 2: If you have money buy a ten million dollar jersey, you.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Either need to get with nine million, nine nine ninety
- 32:39Speaker 3: nine friends and I'll put in a dollar, or you
- 32:42Speaker 3: need to have a networth of like seven hundred and
- 32:45Speaker 3: fifty million dollars, yeah.
- 32:47Speaker 5: To buy that.
- 32:47Speaker 2: It's not a net worth of twenty million dollars a year.
- 32:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 32:51Speaker 3: It's like buying a car that is expensive and you're like, man,
- 32:54Speaker 3: I put it all in the car, but if you
- 32:55Speaker 3: can't afford to fix it, uh huh, then you can't
- 32:57Speaker 3: really afford to buy it.
- 32:59Speaker 5: Yep.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Next time you go into your local restaurant or anywhere
- 33:04Speaker 3: that's public and you go into the bathroom. If you
- 33:06Speaker 3: go into a gas station, you go to the bathroom.
- 33:08Speaker 3: They're saying, I reader this from the Daily Mail that
- 33:10Speaker 3: when you have the toilet paper, look at the roll
- 33:13Speaker 3: of toilet paper before you start to use the toilet paper.
- 33:17Speaker 3: If the role has like indentions or rust colored marks,
- 33:20Speaker 3: you should probably avoid that and like roll it off
- 33:24Speaker 3: and throw it away because the small marks could be
- 33:26Speaker 3: specks of blood from dirty needles used for injecting illegal drugs,
- 33:31Speaker 3: and that people will go into the bathrooms like clean
- 33:34Speaker 3: their dirty needles before they use them again. And of
- 33:37Speaker 3: course if there's a little there's blood on it, the
- 33:39Speaker 3: blood could be infected with the virbles.
- 33:40Speaker 2: It's like a new fear unlocked.
- 33:42Speaker 3: Well, this was possibly like one of those things too,
- 33:45Speaker 3: where back in the day it was like if you're
- 33:46Speaker 3: in a payphone, don't push your finger in the bottom
- 33:48Speaker 3: of it because it could be a needle that had
- 33:49Speaker 3: aids in it.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Remember that, did you ever get all these the DA
- 33:53Speaker 2: get aids from it? We would know that.
- 33:59Speaker 3: I just never thought that was real because that's a
- 34:02Speaker 3: lot of work for someone to give someone aids, which
- 34:05Speaker 3: probably isn't gonna happen anyway. Because the blood is dried
- 34:07Speaker 3: and anything in it's probably dead. I think that was
- 34:10Speaker 3: just an urban legend, but everybody believed.
- 34:12Speaker 2: I mean it got around. If we got to text
- 34:13Speaker 2: this an Arkansas, oh yeah, it was out.
- 34:15Speaker 4: So that's the same thing with like the drugs in
- 34:17Speaker 4: Halloween candy, right, Like I don't think drug dealers are
- 34:20Speaker 4: cool and just giving them away drugs like blades. People
- 34:23Speaker 4: like to keep their drugs and use their drugs, not
- 34:25Speaker 4: just like give it to random people.
- 34:27Speaker 2: Every once in a while there will be a razor
- 34:29Speaker 2: blade or a needle in a.
- 34:30Speaker 3: Can and candy like once they'll find it a couple
- 34:32Speaker 3: of years and then it reignites a stupid.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Rumor of we told you. Are you a public bathroom?
- 34:39Speaker 2: Are you?
- 34:40Speaker 3: Do you go there?
- 34:40Speaker 2: For number two? I try not to. And if you do,
- 34:46Speaker 2: do you hover toilet paper on the sea? Yeah, what
- 34:48Speaker 2: do you do?
- 34:49Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's it's a mummy. That's what you're wrapping.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Like I'm wrapping like the back thing tub and I'm
- 34:58Speaker 3: rapping at all from the title, Yeah, all the way I'm.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Wrapping the room. It's got toilet papered the room. If
- 35:05Speaker 2: I have to, I really try not to.
- 35:09Speaker 4: I appreciate those sheets that come you know that you
- 35:11Speaker 4: get this. They're the shape of the toilet, except the
- 35:14Speaker 4: middle part is usually stuck and if you don't rip
- 35:17Speaker 4: that out, like it's gonna catch your stuff and that's
- 35:19Speaker 4: not good. You know what I'm talking about. Yes, but
- 35:22Speaker 4: you sometimes it's connected. Man, it's they do that on purpose.
- 35:26Speaker 2: So it's not hanging, so it doesn't easily rip. All
- 35:27Speaker 2: you have to do is to go and you rip
- 35:29Speaker 2: that little middle. You're supposed to rip this thing before
- 35:32Speaker 2: you even put it on. I didn't know that all
- 35:34Speaker 2: of a sudden you have a net holding it. That's
- 35:36Speaker 2: what I'm talking about. You're like, this is not good.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Going to the SEC basketball tournament on Wednesday.
- 35:43Speaker 2: I like it that it's at noon. We're gonna go.
- 35:46Speaker 2: I like it that it's at noon, and like to
- 35:47Speaker 2: get it out of the way, like we can leave where,
- 35:49Speaker 2: go right to it. Arkansas plays at noon. They're playing
- 35:52Speaker 2: South Carolina.
- 35:53Speaker 3: They had a big one Oversissippi State on Saturday morning,
- 35:56Speaker 3: which was great, which means we're gonna make the tournament
- 35:58Speaker 3: as well. All I was guaranteed, So what's the percentage
- 36:02Speaker 3: on that seventy? And if we winned a good game
- 36:06Speaker 3: at All Miss. We're against All Miss in the first
- 36:08Speaker 3: round for sure, but that'll be fun.
- 36:12Speaker 2: We'll go in noon, be back home by two thirty. Yeah,
- 36:16Speaker 2: it's perfect. The next day the games at noon as well.
- 36:18Speaker 5: If we win.
- 36:18Speaker 2: You don't want to stay for the second game. I
- 36:20Speaker 2: can't stay for the second game. I gotta work. You
- 36:23Speaker 2: always have to work. You need to stop working so much.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Life works so much, we wouldn't go to the game.
- 36:27Speaker 2: That's a good point. Keep working, keep away working.
- 36:31Speaker 3: So yeah, March Madness is awesome, so much fun.
- 36:34Speaker 2: What's going to suck is I'm not really going to
- 36:35Speaker 2: be able to watch it. Even if Arkansas makes a tournament,
- 36:37Speaker 2: I'll be in Europe, then, don't. They'll do March Madness
- 36:40Speaker 2: in Europe. First of all, the time change is different. Yeah,
- 36:43Speaker 2: my goodness, And I would what are you thinking? Why
- 36:46Speaker 2: would you plan this? It was the only week I
- 36:48Speaker 2: could do it. Oh, I know, but that's it. I'll
- 36:51Speaker 2: give you updates. I don't need up dates. I've let
- 36:53Speaker 2: my wife know though. This is the ultimate sacrifice. It is, dude,
- 36:56Speaker 2: lay that on thick. I've let her know that.
- 36:59Speaker 3: Card and sacrifice. Uh so, yeah, sucks but sorry, man,
- 37:04Speaker 3: we come.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Back on that Saturday.
- 37:06Speaker 3: So if Arkansas happens to play on Friday and they win,
- 37:11Speaker 3: and then they play on Sunday, we may land and
- 37:14Speaker 3: I get back on a plane and.
- 37:15Speaker 2: Go, wh Why don't you just change your flight to
- 37:18Speaker 2: wherever they're playing because they may not win. If they
- 37:21Speaker 2: don't win, the point, why not fly and you're stuck
- 37:23Speaker 2: in Melbourne? If we fly to Milwaukee, there's no game.
- 37:26Speaker 2: That'd be terrible and my wife would not Okay, she
- 37:29Speaker 2: would have cool with that. All right, Cool, one more break.
- 37:39Speaker 2: All right, let's talk about cavin't got married? Talk about it? Yeah,
- 37:46Speaker 2: talk about him, Go ahead, man.
- 37:47Speaker 7: Yeah, it's a it's a good feeling. It's been I
- 37:49Speaker 7: feel like I've been on gone for a long time.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Us too.
- 37:52Speaker 7: In the sports sports world, you're kind of like you
- 37:55Speaker 7: miss out on things like you're talking about going to Europe. Oh,
- 37:57Speaker 7: I go to the bathroom and catch up on everything.
- 38:00Speaker 7: This is where I struggled. I talked to Addie about
- 38:02Speaker 7: this a little bit. I try to totally detach myself
- 38:05Speaker 7: from everything, and I couldn't do it.
- 38:07Speaker 2: As far as work sports, I was able to do
- 38:10Speaker 2: it a little bit better, but work wise.
- 38:12Speaker 7: I try to get away from everything, enjoy the honeymoon,
- 38:15Speaker 7: enjoy the marriage, enjoy the wedding and everything. And I
- 38:17Speaker 7: did the best I could. But I just don't know
- 38:19Speaker 7: if that's wired. And I know, Bobby, Mike, you guys
- 38:21Speaker 7: are pretty similar too. Do you struggle with that on
- 38:24Speaker 7: the vacations.
- 38:24Speaker 2: No, I go to the bathroom. Okay, that's where you.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Get your stomach issues, so I catch them on everything,
- 38:29Speaker 3: Like if I'm in there for twenty twenty five minutes,
- 38:32Speaker 3: I'll catch it up on you. I'm all the way
- 38:36Speaker 3: through ESPN, all the scores, I got all the all
- 38:39Speaker 3: the teams.
- 38:40Speaker 2: Specifically that I follow the players. I follow.
- 38:42Speaker 3: No, and sometimes I have to go to the bathroom
- 38:45Speaker 3: because now why I can't prove I don't have to
- 38:46Speaker 3: go to the bathroom.
- 38:47Speaker 2: She cannot won't go in there with the stomach cards.
- 38:49Speaker 5: I have to hop in.
- 38:50Speaker 3: I'll be back in. No, you don't prove it. And
- 38:53Speaker 3: then if she ever tries on just pooping the floor
- 38:55Speaker 3: and I she'll never doubt it again.
- 38:57Speaker 5: That'll be so.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Even when we go overseas, I keep up.
- 39:04Speaker 3: Even on our honeymoon, I kept up because I would
- 39:05Speaker 3: just do it in I'm in there anyway, So what
- 39:07Speaker 3: are you gonna do?
- 39:08Speaker 2: Catch up tiktoks like keeping those trends serious?
- 39:11Speaker 7: Season Vet, Yeah, I should have known this before I
- 39:14Speaker 7: itill has plenty of time to be married, bro.
- 39:16Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I've learned in just You're like, plenty
- 39:20Speaker 3: of time to be married. You definitely don't want her
- 39:22Speaker 3: to feel disrespected. You don't want her to feel like
- 39:25Speaker 3: you're paying attention to your phone at times like this.
- 39:27Speaker 3: But there are times that you can actually get away
- 39:29Speaker 3: and pay attention to your phone. So that would be
- 39:32Speaker 3: the advice I would give you, is pay attention to
- 39:34Speaker 3: your phone in places where they can't tell you're paying
- 39:36Speaker 3: attention to your phone.
- 39:39Speaker 2: I was a wedding. It was awesome.
- 39:41Speaker 7: It was great, very small, intimate, I think fifteen people total,
- 39:44Speaker 7: just family only. We did the whole reception at a
- 39:49Speaker 7: small like church elopement, and then we did an airbnb
- 39:53Speaker 7: house for the dinner and everything, and after we did
- 39:55Speaker 7: everything ourselves.
- 39:56Speaker 2: It was nice, easy now it's easy, and it was
- 40:00Speaker 2: nice Eddie. And then you want to say, yeah, what
- 40:02Speaker 2: did you guys.
- 40:02Speaker 4: Do after like all that, did you guys do any
- 40:04Speaker 4: like kind of celebrating with the rest of your friends.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Uh oh yeah, yeah, yeah that Friday. That Friday we
- 40:13Speaker 2: did a little celebration. We talked about it. Yeah did
- 40:16Speaker 2: you hear it? And yeah I did, I did, I did.
- 40:19Speaker 5: I saw.
- 40:20Speaker 7: Yeah, I was out and I thought he wasn't watching
- 40:23Speaker 7: trying to be out of my honeymoon and I had
- 40:25Speaker 7: I saw the title say that you guys were upset
- 40:27Speaker 7: about something, so I had to take a listen.
- 40:29Speaker 2: And you guys are upset that do you think we
- 40:30Speaker 2: have a valid point? So now, to be fair, the.
- 40:35Speaker 7: Only reason I really invited m Kitty because he gave
- 40:37Speaker 7: me crap for never invited in my house that I
- 40:40Speaker 7: moved into a year ago. And I invited him this time.
- 40:43Speaker 7: And guess what, he didn't even come. And I knew
- 40:45Speaker 7: he was going to tell you, Eddie. I just knew,
- 40:47Speaker 7: because you guys talk about.
- 40:48Speaker 3: Everything, Eddie, feel good that you only invited him because
- 40:51Speaker 3: of crap given?
- 40:52Speaker 2: Does that make you feel good?
- 40:54Speaker 5: By No?
- 40:54Speaker 2: I just knew, Like Kevin lest Place, isn't it?
- 40:56Speaker 5: I just I just knew.
- 40:58Speaker 2: There's no way you guys would have come. That's why
- 41:01Speaker 2: you should have invited. And that's not true. You don't
- 41:04Speaker 2: know that eddie you have you don't know that?
- 41:06Speaker 4: Okay, Friday, Friday afternoon, like Bobby, let's say you can
- 41:10Speaker 4: never prove it Friday.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Okay, we are how about how about this what you guys?
- 41:17Speaker 2: You might go to the game.
- 41:18Speaker 3: We don't want any sort of like constanation surprize.
- 41:21Speaker 2: What what are you going to say? I'm doing a
- 41:23Speaker 2: birthday dinner on Thursday. You want to come?
- 41:25Speaker 1: Now?
- 41:25Speaker 2: Cool? Sounds fine? Have fun with your friends? Do you
- 41:27Speaker 2: want to come?
- 41:28Speaker 5: Good?
- 41:28Speaker 2: Good luck with your old friends. Yeah you're m kitty. Yeah,
- 41:31Speaker 2: I hope you have a good birthday. Chess for you guys,
- 41:34Speaker 2: wouldn't want to come. Did you had a honeymoon?
- 41:38Speaker 3: You did?
- 41:38Speaker 2: You did wedding right and honeymoon right?
- 41:40Speaker 7: Yeah, wedding right, honeymoon Curus down there by like south
- 41:43Speaker 7: or just north of South America.
- 41:46Speaker 2: It was awesome.
- 41:48Speaker 7: I mean it's like this little island basically secluded out there,
- 41:51Speaker 7: and we did one of those you know, all inclusive
- 41:53Speaker 7: resort resorts and it was great, relaxing, very relaxed.
- 41:57Speaker 2: What of South America?
- 41:58Speaker 7: Yeah, one of those little islands. You your wife and McKitty, Yeah, yeah, MCKITTI.
- 42:02Speaker 2: Had his own room though, don'tka. Yeah, I don't worry.
- 42:05Speaker 2: And how many days were you there? Six? Oh that's
- 42:08Speaker 2: a long it's a lot, it was, Yeah, it was.
- 42:10Speaker 2: I was ready. Are you a beach person? No, I'm
- 42:13Speaker 2: more of a pool person. You guys are crazy, like
- 42:15Speaker 2: that's a long time, Like that's a long time. That's
- 42:17Speaker 2: very paradise.
- 42:19Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's not paradise for me. And also, like,
- 42:22Speaker 3: what do you do at a beach or a pool?
- 42:23Speaker 3: I'm just I don't enjoy beaches or pools.
- 42:25Speaker 7: And we went to.
- 42:28Speaker 3: Greece for hours and we spent like four days on
- 42:30Speaker 3: a beach and she loved it.
- 42:31Speaker 7: So I just acted like I loved it. Yeah, but
- 42:33Speaker 7: it's like, what am I supposed to do? I need
- 42:36Speaker 7: to be doing something. You know what I was proud of.
- 42:37Speaker 7: I worked out twice while there.
- 42:39Speaker 2: That's stupid. That's pretty good, right, Yeah, that's tough. It's good.
- 42:41Speaker 3: Good for you because I tried to even do like
- 42:44Speaker 3: half forty five minutes a day just to stay on it.
- 42:46Speaker 2: So it's going to be that much harder once you
- 42:47Speaker 2: get back into it exactly. Well, you guys aren't about
- 42:49Speaker 2: salt life. You guys, It's like, who are you talking?
- 42:51Speaker 2: About that.
- 42:51Speaker 4: You're talking about real world stuff, like when you're on vacation,
- 42:54Speaker 4: you just late, you do nothing. That's a very charge
- 42:58Speaker 4: your body, to me, is not just doing nothing at
- 43:01Speaker 4: a beach vacation. Everybody can be different.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Yeah, I need to be I like doing something. Yeah,
- 43:05Speaker 2: I like physically doing something. I would like to go
- 43:08Speaker 2: on vacation and like what we're about to do.
- 43:10Speaker 3: We're about to go hit multiple cities and get on
- 43:13Speaker 3: a train and go from here to this city we've
- 43:15Speaker 3: never been.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Go see stuff. Yeah I get like that to me too.
- 43:18Speaker 2: But the whole thing was she's seven months pregnant, so
- 43:21Speaker 2: I can't really do much. Did you drink around her?
- 43:26Speaker 2: So yeah, if she goes in the labor like you're
- 43:27Speaker 2: in another I know.
- 43:29Speaker 7: That's why we needed to do it now. And it's
- 43:31Speaker 7: basically speaking of this. Have you guys heard of a
- 43:34Speaker 7: baby moon? Yes, yes, okay, that's a thing, but you're
- 43:36Speaker 7: too close that that was a honey it was a culmination.
- 43:39Speaker 2: Yeah, this is having a birthday and Christmas hubby moon. Yeah.
- 43:42Speaker 7: I didn't know that until we started planning this, and
- 43:44Speaker 7: they're's like, oh, we can do a baby slash honeymoon combined.
- 43:47Speaker 2: But it was not a real thing.
- 43:48Speaker 3: It's just it's a social media Is that a new
- 43:50Speaker 3: thing ish past five seven years?
- 43:53Speaker 2: It's not.
- 43:53Speaker 4: It's probably a thing now though, like like Valentine's Day
- 43:56Speaker 4: was kind of a is this really a thing?
- 43:58Speaker 2: Most people don't go on baby moons?
- 43:59Speaker 3: Likeninety eight percent of people don't go on baby moons
- 44:01Speaker 3: unless they're a social media influencer and they can post
- 44:04Speaker 3: it online or they go on like a stay home baby.
- 44:07Speaker 2: Do you know a single person in a baby moon?
- 44:09Speaker 5: No?
- 44:09Speaker 2: Okay, I know one other person other than me. She
- 44:13Speaker 2: have much followers.
- 44:14Speaker 5: No.
- 44:15Speaker 2: I thought it was like a Southern thing because she's
- 44:18Speaker 2: I don't know where. Did they go to Tallahasse, Florida?
- 44:22Speaker 3: Yes?
- 44:23Speaker 4: Yes, congratulations, Thank you, I congratulation. It was a lot
- 44:28Speaker 4: of fun, very nice. We saw the pictures that looked
- 44:30Speaker 4: like a lot of fun.
- 44:31Speaker 3: He was great.
- 44:32Speaker 2: Yeah, he invited m kitty because McKitty gave him crap.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Makes no sense inviting people that don't give you crap. Yeah,
- 44:38Speaker 2: and we actually love you and care about you. No,
- 44:40Speaker 2: you said that wrong. Care about Oh yeah, I love
- 44:43Speaker 2: you and care about you. I'm sorry, guys.
- 44:45Speaker 5: Okay, uh for now, that is it. Thank you.
- 44:50Speaker 2: Do you want to go get my whistle?
- 44:52Speaker 5: All right?
- 44:53Speaker 2: We may have come back and doing a little additional anyway. Cool, no, cool,
- 45:01Speaker 2: whatever you want to do. Thank you, yeah, cool, Thank you?
- 45:03Speaker 5: All right.
- 45:04Speaker 2: Thank you guys.
- 45:05Speaker 3: Go and subscribe to the podcast if you're listening on
- 45:07Speaker 3: the Bobby Boat Show channel, that will be awesome. Subscribe

- 45:13Speaker 3: helpful to us. And give us a review RTED if
- 45:15Speaker 3: you don't mind, we need that as well desperately.
