- 0:02You're listening to Beyond the Sermon, the podcast of First
- 0:05Methodist Church in Collingswood, NJ.
- 0:07On our podcast, the goal is not just to share the sermons we've
- 0:11preached, but to go beyond the sermon and talk about what we're
- 0:14learning and what God is doing in US and in our community.
- 0:17You can find more information about our church at
- 0:20fumccollingswood.org. Thanks for listening.
- 0:26Well, here we are getting ready to start a brand new sermon
- 0:28series. I know, I'm excited.
- 0:32I know Scott's excited. But first, our scripture for
- 0:37this morning is taken from the book of Acts chapter 1, verses
- 0:42one through 12. In my former book Theophilus, I
- 0:48wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day
- 0:52he was taken up to heaven. After giving instructions
- 0:55through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen after his
- 0:59suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing
- 1:03proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a
- 1:06period of 40 days and spoke about the Kingdom of God.
- 1:10On one occasion while he was eating with them, he gave them
- 1:13this command. Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait
- 1:16for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak
- 1:20about. For John baptized with water,
- 1:22but it in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.
- 1:27Then they gathered around him and asked him, Lord, are you at
- 1:32this time going to restore the Kingdom to Israel?
- 1:35He said to them, It is not for you to know the times or dates
- 1:39the Father has set by His own authority, but you will receive
- 1:42power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my
- 1:45witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to
- 1:50the ends of the earth. After this.
- 1:53After He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a
- 1:56cloud hid Him from their sight. They were looking intently up
- 2:01into the sky as He was going, when suddenly two men dressed in
- 2:05white stood beside them. Men of Galilee, they said, Why
- 2:09do you stand here looking into the sky?
- 2:11The same Jesus who has been taken from you into heaven will
- 2:15come back in the same way you have seen Him go into heaven.
- 2:19Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the hill called
- 2:23Mount, the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day walk from the city.
- 2:28This is the word of God for the people of God.
- 2:31Thanks be to God, Amen. Would you pray with me before we
- 2:36get started this morning? Almighty God, to you, all hearts
- 2:44are open, all desires are known, and from you no secrets are
- 2:52hidden. Would you cleanse the thoughts
- 2:55of our hearts by the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, that we may
- 3:00perfectly love you and worthily magnify Your Holy name.
- 3:07We pray this through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
- 3:16Well, as a dad of four boys, the idea of superheroes has been
- 3:24prevalent in our household. It's been a fixture in our
- 3:28household. Different superheroes have
- 3:31featured at different stages, depending on what shows they're
- 3:35maybe watching or what movies have come out.
- 3:39And, and no matter, you know, what age our boys have been,
- 3:43there's always been some superhero they've been talking
- 3:47about. And, and regardless of which
- 3:50superhero is kind of the flavor of the week, it seems to me that
- 3:56all of them, all of them share at least three things in common,
- 4:03right? Three things that are kind of
- 4:04part of of the mythology of superheroes, right?
- 4:09Even if it looks a little different in each hero's story.
- 4:13And Please note, I'm speaking pretty generally here.
- 4:16You don't have to come up to me after the service and give me
- 4:18examples that don't fit the pattern that I'm giving you.
- 4:21That's OK. Looking at you, Benjamin.
- 4:26But three things you ready for them #1 common thing that all
- 4:33superhero stories have superpowers, right?
- 4:37To be a superhero, you need to have super powers.
- 4:41It could be super strength or blinding speed.
- 4:45It could be the ability to climb walls and sling webs or
- 4:49intelligence that enables you to create arc reactors and super
- 4:54suits and those kind of things. But to be a superhero, you need
- 5:00some kind of superpower, right? All right, that's the first
- 5:05thing. Second thing that is common to
- 5:08all superheroes is an origin story.
- 5:12An origin story. The story that tells how this
- 5:16person came to possess the power they have and how they decided
- 5:21to use that and or how they were awakened to this power that was
- 5:25latent within them. You know?
- 5:27So Peter Parker is bitten by a radioactive spider while on a
- 5:31high school field trip and he becomes spider man, right?
- 5:36Steve Rogers is injected with super serum and he's transformed
- 5:40from a runty army cadet into Captain America.
- 5:46OK, you guys are passing the test already, good job.
- 5:48Bruce Wayne watches his parents get robbed and murdered in the
- 5:53street and he grows up to become Batman.
- 5:56Good job, good job. The list goes on and on, but a
- 6:00significant part of superhero lore is their origin story of
- 6:06how they became who they were. Third thing that superheroes
- 6:11tend to have in common is an alter ego, right?
- 6:16Who they are when they're not wearing the mask of their
- 6:21superhero persona. So Clark Kent steps in, steps
- 6:26into the phone booth, he takes off his glasses and he emerges
- 6:29as Superman. Bruce Banner gets angry and he
- 6:34transforms into the Hulk. Tony Stark puts on his suit and
- 6:39he becomes Iron Man Good job. We're trailing off there a
- 6:44little bit. That's all right.
- 6:46Then with all these superheroes, there's there's a distinction
- 6:50between who they are as a superhero and who they are in
- 6:56their normal day-to-day lives, right as a distinction concealed
- 7:01behind a suit, a Cape, or a mask.
- 7:06Now, I imagine that I am not alone in daydreaming at some
- 7:11point about what it would be like to have a superpower or
- 7:14what superpower I would like to have.
- 7:19I don't know what what else it might entail for me, but I have
- 7:26always thought it would be amazing to be able to fly like
- 7:29Superman. All right, maybe maybe that's
- 7:32where my love for Hawks comes, watching them soar up there in
- 7:37the sky. But but what about you?
- 7:40Have you thought about it before?
- 7:42Surely I'm not alone in this, right?
- 7:45Tell me I'm not alone in this, All right.
- 7:48Anyway. But the reality is most people,
- 7:53most of the time, we don't feel very super.
- 7:59And in fact, we recognize that if everyone was super, no one
- 8:05would really be super, right? That's what the villain in the
- 8:07movie The Incredibles said. That was how he dealt with the
- 8:11disappointment of not being super himself.
- 8:13Well, we'll just make everybody super, and then nobody will be
- 8:16super. But friends, what if I told you
- 8:20this morning that you were meant to be super?
- 8:28That you were created to operate in a power that doesn't
- 8:31originate within yourself? That you were intended to live a
- 8:36life of supernatural empowerment?
- 8:43I believe that's exactly what the Bible teaches us.
- 8:48We were meant to live a life of supernatural empowerment.
- 8:53Over the next few months, this is exactly what we're going to
- 8:57be talking about. How the Holy Spirit who dwells
- 9:00within everyone, who has received new life through Jesus,
- 9:04how he transforms us and he empowers us to live the same
- 9:07kind of life that Jesus lived. A life surrendered to God the
- 9:11Father and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
- 9:15So we're going to take the next 5 weeks to lay out a scriptural
- 9:19foundation for this kind of empowered life.
- 9:22I'm not just making this stuff up.
- 9:25I, I, I believe we find it here in the pages of Scripture.
- 9:29We're going to develop some foundational principles for what
- 9:32those gifts and empowered lives look like today and how God is
- 9:38leading us to live together as a congregation in these realities
- 9:44of the Spirit. Then we're going to take the
- 9:46summer and do a deep dive into the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
- 9:51The gifts the Holy Spirit gives to us as Christians for the sake
- 9:55of building up the church, the body of Christ, and, and for
- 9:58serving and witnessing to the world.
- 10:01These spiritual gifts, I believe are the primary way that God has
- 10:06chosen to release his power in the world.
- 10:09It's, it's through us, through his people, empowered by his
- 10:15Spirit. So we're going to give a
- 10:18significant amount of attention to these ideas, right?
- 10:23Five weeks, the summer, that's almost 1/4 of the year because I
- 10:28believe this is a key. This is key to becoming the
- 10:32church that God is calling us to be.
- 10:35These are ideas that I've been marinating in for for almost a
- 10:40year now. Before I felt like the the
- 10:42Spirit said, OK, it's time you've you've thought about it
- 10:46enough. Now you've got to start
- 10:48preaching it. Much of my thinking over the
- 10:51last year has been shaped by a pastor from a church in Toronto
- 10:55called Sanctus Church. His name is John Thompson I I
- 11:00first met John almost a year ago through the pastoral cohort that
- 11:05I was part of. And since then I've read a
- 11:08couple of his books, I've listened to some of his
- 11:10teachings and sermons, and he's been a bit of a mentor from a
- 11:15distance in these things. And just this week, Meg and I
- 11:20were down near Nashville for a 2 day conference where John was
- 11:25speaking. Anyway, even though we're giving
- 11:30more than 1/4 of the year's sermons to delving into these
- 11:35gifts, know that this is just the beginning of the
- 11:40conversation. I don't intend to be vague
- 11:45through these sermon series, but I also have no illusions that we
- 11:50can say everything that needs to be said about what it means to
- 11:55live an empowered life in the Spirit in a few months of
- 11:59sermons, right? So, so this is to give you a
- 12:03peek of where I think God is leading us.
- 12:08I think these ideas could and and probably should change the
- 12:12very ways we operate as a church.
- 12:17So take your notes, write down your questions as they come up
- 12:23for you as we work through these series and and we're going to
- 12:27create some opportunities where we can have some some more
- 12:31conversation, get those questions answered.
- 12:35You can't wait for those. Feel free to reach out.
- 12:38We'll set up a time and sit down and talk about the things that
- 12:41are on your mind and heart. But today, today I want to begin
- 12:47the conversation and we're going to start at the very beginning,
- 12:53not talking about creation, but the beginning for us as
- 12:58Christians, right, is always who Sunday school answer Jesus,
- 13:06right? For us as Christians, we look to
- 13:09Christ, we look to Jesus. And so we're going to start with
- 13:13Jesus because I think if we're honest, subconsciously we tend
- 13:17to think of Jesus the way we think about superheroes, right?
- 13:24The gospel tells us about the many miraculous things that
- 13:28Jesus did, his superpowers, so to speak.
- 13:31He, he healed people, he cast out demons.
- 13:34He had insight into people's thoughts and motives.
- 13:37He raised people from the dead. He exerted the authority over
- 13:42nature, like calming the storm and walking on water.
- 13:46His teaching had a power and authority that the people around
- 13:49him were not used to. We can read in those same
- 13:54gospels about Jesus's origin story, right?
- 13:59Mary and the Angel Gabriel, divine conception by the Holy
- 14:02Spirit. We we read about an angelic
- 14:05chorus at his birth and shepherds and wise men and
- 14:08silent night, and then almost nothing, right?
- 14:14For for roughly 30 years, we hear nothing about the life of
- 14:20Jesus except for that one little rabbit trail story where Jesus
- 14:26kind of wandered off from his parents.
- 14:27And you know that story. And if not, let me know.
- 14:30We'll we'll find it and talk about it.
- 14:32But basically nothing for 30 years until Jesus is baptized by
- 14:40John and heaven opens, the Spirit descends on Jesus and God
- 14:45the Father speaks words of affirmation over Jesus.
- 14:48This is my beloved son with whom I'm well pleased.
- 14:54And then Jesus starts doing all the things right.
- 14:58That's when the miracles and the healings and the teaching,
- 15:01that's when his ministry starts. But if we're not careful, I
- 15:07think we can start to think about Jesus as God's alter ego,
- 15:13right? Like he's really God, but but
- 15:16then he puts on a human mask. Or that he is human, but not
- 15:24quite. That he's somehow more than
- 15:29human. Tim, you can keep going in in a
- 15:31way that is unattainable for us normal people, right?
- 15:35He's human, but not quite. This is the mystery that we call
- 15:43the incarnation, right? That God put on our human flesh
- 15:49and became truly human, right? Jesus isn't 50% God and 50%
- 15:56human. Either this is divinity or his
- 16:00humanity are diminished by this union between God and humanity,
- 16:06what theologians call the theandric union.
- 16:09That's not in your notes. You don't have to write that
- 16:11down. But Jesus is the God man, right?
- 16:16He's 100% God and 100% human. If you can't quite get your
- 16:23minds around that, don't worry, you're not alone.
- 16:26Your pastor's right there with you.
- 16:29But the common assumption is that all the stuff Jesus did, he
- 16:34did because he was God, right? He did it from the power of his
- 16:39divine nature. But friends, I don't think
- 16:44that's quite what the New Testament teaches.
- 16:47If we read it closely, the apostle John in his Gospel
- 16:53writes that Jesus said, I tell you the truth, the Son can do
- 16:58nothing by himself. He can only do what he sees his
- 17:03Father doing, because whatever the Father does, the Son also
- 17:09does. See what that's saying is Jesus
- 17:14didn't do anything by himself. Jesus did nothing on his own
- 17:21right. He only did what the Father
- 17:24revealed to him to do. The Apostle Paul put it this way
- 17:29when he wrote a contemporary worship song into scripture in
- 17:34Philippians chapter 2, right? For for everyone who's saying we
- 17:39should only sing the hymns, well, there's contemporary
- 17:42worship right there in the on the pages of Scripture,
- 17:44Philippians 2, Paul writes Jesus, who, being in very nature
- 17:50God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to
- 17:54his own advantage. Rather, he made himself nothing
- 17:57by taking the very nature of a servant being made in human
- 18:01likeness and being found in appearance as a man, he humbled
- 18:04himself by becoming obedient to death, even death on a cross.
- 18:09Therefore God exalted him to the highest place, gave him the name
- 18:13that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee
- 18:16should bow in heaven, and on earth and under the earth, and
- 18:19every tongue acknowledged that Jesus Christ is Lord to the
- 18:22glory of God the Father. And the Church said Amen.
- 18:26Amen. That was a radical thought for
- 18:35the majority of early Christians who are coming from a Jewish
- 18:39background, right? Did you catch that idea at the
- 18:42beginning in verse 6? Jesus being in very nature God,
- 18:50This man who they had walked with, who they had heard from,
- 18:53who had talked to them, who had been crucified in front of them
- 18:57was God. Paul's very clear Jesus is God,
- 19:06but he didn't consider his equality with God something that
- 19:10he had to hold on to, something he had to to grasp and reach for
- 19:15or use for his own benefit. You see, Jesus didn't cease to
- 19:22be God when he took on humanity. He didn't give up his God card,
- 19:30but he also didn't use his own power as God to accomplish his
- 19:38ministry. And this is where Jesus's
- 19:42superhero origin story comes back into play.
- 19:46Remember his baptism? When the Spirit came and the
- 19:51Father spoke at his baptism, Jesus was being empowered for
- 19:59ministry by the Holy Spirit. The power that Jesus used for
- 20:05ministry, it wasn't his own. It came from the Holy Spirit and
- 20:16it came through spiritual gifts. See, Jesus is not a superhero.
- 20:27Keep going, Tim. Sorry, I'm learning this as much
- 20:30as Tim is through spiritual gifts.
- 20:34Keep going. Jesus is not a superhero.
- 20:42He is the perfect human and he's not Superman.
- 20:53He's the perfect man. He's what Adam was always
- 20:58intended to be. He's what Israel was meant to
- 21:02be. When Adam and Eve screwed up
- 21:04everything and we we entered into sin.
- 21:08Jesus is the model of what humanity was always intended and
- 21:13created to be. 100% human. Surrendered to God and empowered
- 21:23by the Holy Spirit. Surrendered to God and empowered
- 21:29by the Holy Spirit. And so in his life on earth,
- 21:34Jesus walked in, in what we've been calling the spiritual
- 21:37practices, the spiritual disciplines, right?
- 21:40Things like silence and solitude and scripture and prayer and
- 21:46worship and service. And this is how he developed
- 21:49that intimacy with God. It's how he maintained that
- 21:53intimacy with God. It's how he knew what the Father
- 21:56wanted him to do, where he was supposed to go, who he was
- 22:00supposed opposed to heal or set free.
- 22:03This is where Jesus encountered God the Father through spiritual
- 22:10practices, right? And then the same time Jesus is
- 22:15operating in the spiritual gifts that he was given, things like
- 22:19healings and miracles and words of knowledge and teaching and
- 22:23and so on. This is where the power came
- 22:26from. This is how he was empowered by
- 22:29God the Holy Spirit through spiritual gifts.
- 22:33All right, so we've got spiritual disciplines and
- 22:36spiritual gifts coming together, converging together.
- 22:41Everything Jesus did, he did at the leading of the Father
- 22:47through the power of the Holy Spirit.
- 22:49He did nothing on his own. So at this point, they're either
- 22:58light bulbs coming on for you or you're looking for your pocket
- 23:02sized pitchfork that you brought to church this morning just in
- 23:05case the preacher went off the rails.
- 23:07Right? Let me push it one step further
- 23:13and say this friends, this life that Jesus lived surrendered to
- 23:20the Father, empowered by the Spirit, using spiritual
- 23:25disciplines to encounter God and and operating in spiritual gifts
- 23:31to release the power of the Spirit.
- 23:34Friends, we are called to live the same kind of life that Jesus
- 23:38lived. Just like Jesus, we are called
- 23:43to live lives surrendered to the Father, empowered by the Spirit,
- 23:47to walk in these spiritual disciplines as the means by
- 23:50which we encounter God, and to exercise the spiritual gifts
- 23:54we've been given as the means by which through which the Spirit
- 23:58empowers us. This is what Jesus promised his
- 24:02followers before he ascended to the Father, after the
- 24:05resurrection, and in other places.
- 24:07If you go back and read the Gospels, Jesus talks about the
- 24:09Holy Spirit a fair bit, but it's the story we read from Acts
- 24:14chapter 1, or we read this from Acts chapter one, this one.
- 24:18It's a story that it's telling us.
- 24:20Jesus is getting ready to return to the Father.
- 24:24He's been crucified, resurrected.
- 24:26He spent 40 days, 40 days walking with his disciples,
- 24:33teaching them, explaining all the things that he had done and
- 24:38what he had taught them in light of the resurrection.
- 24:40And before he goes, he gives the disciples some instructions.
- 24:44He says stay in Jerusalem, wait for the promised gift, or Jesus
- 24:53had spoken to them about the Holy Spirit before.
- 24:56And he's here. He's reminding them last words.
- 24:59He's saying to them, the Father's going to send the Holy
- 25:04Spirit. When I go, I'm going to send the
- 25:08Holy Spirit. He's telling him that the
- 25:10Spirit's going to be poured out on them.
- 25:14They will be immersed in the presence of the Spirit, and the
- 25:19presence of the Spirit is going to bring power to their lives.
- 25:26It's going to bring power, power that would enable them to be
- 25:32God's witnesses in the world. Spirit was going to testify
- 25:39about Jesus, and so were the believers.
- 25:41They were going to testify about who Jesus is by the power of the
- 25:48Holy Spirit. If we were to continue reading
- 25:51in Acts, we would see that this promise was kept not just for
- 25:55the 12 apostles who were kind of Jesus's group of apprentices,
- 25:59right, but for all the believers who listened to Jesus's
- 26:03instructions. And, and they stayed in
- 26:05Jerusalem until the Spirit came. 120 of them were gathered in
- 26:10that upper room one day. They were praying together,
- 26:13waiting for God to send the Spirit he had promised.
- 26:18And on the day of Pentecost he did.
- 26:21We'll get to that. Pentecost was in a few weeks.
- 26:26But it wasn't just even those 120 believers in the Upper Room
- 26:30that day. All through Acts we read about
- 26:33people coming to faith in Jesus and the Spirit being poured out
- 26:38on them and and even subsequent fillings of people who had
- 26:42already received the spirits. They're empowered to do a
- 26:45ministry that God is calling them to do.
- 26:47Jesus's promise was that we as his believers could be empowered
- 26:53by the same Spirit who empowered Jesus.
- 27:06Did you hear me? Jesus's promise was that we
- 27:12could be empowered by the same Spirit who empowered Jesus.
- 27:17In fact, Jesus said that his followers would do even greater
- 27:23things than he had done through the empowerment of the Holy
- 27:30Spirit. Not because of us, not because
- 27:32we can do anything, but, but through the Holy Spirit greater
- 27:36things than Jesus had done. Through the spiritual gifts that
- 27:40God gives to each of us. Through the spiritual practices
- 27:47we can encounter God, right. And through the spiritual
- 27:52practices, we are formed into people that He can entrust not
- 27:58just with his power, but with His presence and His power.
- 28:04People he can entrust with His presence and His power.
- 28:07Through spiritual gifts, we're empowered by the Spirit to build
- 28:13up the church, to serve, and to witness to the church, right?
- 28:19That's why He gives us those gifts.
- 28:20It's not just so that we can feel good about ourselves.
- 28:23It's not so we can use them in whatever way we want.
- 28:25He gives them so He can build up the church, so we can serve and
- 28:30witness to the world. This is what God intends for
- 28:34each of us. Walking with God, submitted to
- 28:40the Father, living like Jesus, empowered by the Spirit.
- 28:47Do you believe it? Are you living in it today?
- 28:55Jesus isn't some superhero that we can never hope to measure up
- 29:00to. He's the perfect human.
- 29:03And he's the model then, of what we too can become when we live
- 29:10lives that are surrendered to the Father.
- 29:14And we're encountering him in the spiritual practices like
- 29:18reading scripture and pray, spending time in silence and
- 29:22solitude so we can hear God speak in the midst of this noisy
- 29:26world that we live in. Where we're being formed in
- 29:30holiness by those encounters. And we're empowered by the
- 29:37Spirit serving through those spiritual gifts that he's given
- 29:42us and, and being open to moves of the Spirit to do what he
- 29:47wants to do, to lead us where he wants us to go.
- 29:54This is where we're headed. This is where I think Jesus is
- 29:58leading us. And so I want to invite you all
- 30:02to stand here this morning. I'm going to lead us in prayer
- 30:08before we sing. And this morning, if, if
- 30:14something is stirred within your heart at these words, at these
- 30:20promises from Jesus, if you want to express your openness to a
- 30:25deeper experience of the work of God in your life.
- 30:28This morning, if you want to encounter him more deeply in the
- 30:32practices, Maybe they've gotten kind of dry and stale.
- 30:35And, and you're reading your Bible every day to check off a
- 30:39box or you're, you're praying for 30 seconds.
- 30:42So you could say you did, or you're praying through the
- 30:44prayer list and you're just kind of naming the names and it feels
- 30:47kind of dry. If you want to encounter him
- 30:51more deeply in the practices, I want to invite you to come.
- 30:55If you want to surrender more of yourself to his leading, you
- 30:59say, wow, Scott, as you're talking, there are things God's
- 31:02speaking to my heart about and he's saying they're not OK.
- 31:05I can't stay there. I've got to change some of the
- 31:07things. He wants to give me power.
- 31:09If that's you, if you want to surrender more of yourself to
- 31:12Jesus, you come. If you want to be empowered by
- 31:19the same spirit that empowered Jesus, your life is you've been
- 31:27trying real hard, but you don't feel like you're getting much of
- 31:29anywhere he wants to empower you, you come.
- 31:35Or if you just want to him to to begin to reveal to you.
- 31:38Well, Scott, you're talking about gifts.
- 31:40I don't really know what my gifts are, but but I I'd like to
- 31:43know. I'd like to find out I'm I've
- 31:48been a Christian for 30-40 fifty years and and I don't know what
- 31:52those gifts are. Come and ask him to begin to
- 31:59reveal those things to you. If God's speaking to you, you're
- 32:06invited to come. Let's pray together.
- 32:16Spirit, we sense your presence here moving among us, speaking
- 32:24to our hearts. And Spirit, some of these things
- 32:31we've heard this morning, maybe they, they sound a little
- 32:33different than things we've been taught in the past.
- 32:35Maybe it's a, a different framework, a different paradigm
- 32:39than we've been exposed to. And, and we're not quite sure
- 32:43what we think. Would you come and reveal your
- 32:47truth to us? Jesus said, Spirit, that you
- 32:51would lead us into all truth. So whatever words of truth have
- 32:56been spoken today, would you take them and use them?
- 32:59And anything that's been spoken that's just me or my thoughts
- 33:04doesn't lead us to truth. Let them drop by the wayside.
- 33:07Jesus, the Spirit, we want to give you freedom to speak to our
- 33:15hearts about anything you might want to say.
- 33:20We want to be available to you. We want to know your presence
- 33:27more deeply. So whether we need our own
- 33:32personal revival today because things have gotten kind of dry,
- 33:38we need to surrender, or we need an awakening to what you can and
- 33:42want to do in US and through us. Would you give us boldness to
- 33:49step out to respond to what you're doing?
- 33:58God, we trust you and we want to trust you more.
- 34:05We pray these things. Jesus, in your name, Amen.
