- 0:05Speaker 1: I'm here to help you start your day right by
- 0:08Speaker 1: starting it together with the Lord.
- 0:11Speaker 1: You know, God is there with you right now, and
- 0:16Speaker 1: he's eager to walk with you through your day.
- 0:19Speaker 1: The best way to make sure that you walk with
- 0:21Speaker 1: God through your day is to make sure your relationship
- 0:24Speaker 1: with Him is right and to build that relationship through
- 0:29Speaker 1: time spent with Him. Learn to spend relational time with God.
- 0:33Speaker 1: When you read the Bible, listen to Him.
- 0:36Speaker 1: When you pray, speak back to him, respond to what
- 0:40Speaker 1: he's saying to you. You'll find your relationship with him
- 0:44Speaker 1: growing and growing.
- 0:45Speaker 1: We're going to look this week at the theme of grace,
- 0:49Speaker 1: and I want to read first of all from the
- 0:52Speaker 1: book of First Timothy in the Bible, chapter 1, starting
- 0:55Speaker 1: in verse 13.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Paul says even though I was formerly a blasphemer and
- 1:04Speaker 1: a persecutor and a violent aggressor.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Yet I was shown mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief.
- 1:15Speaker 1: And the grace of our Lord was more than abundant
- 1:20Speaker 1: with the faith and love which are found in Christ Jesus.
- 1:23Speaker 1: It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance that Christ
- 1:30Speaker 1: Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Among whom I am foremost of all.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Hm.
- 1:42Speaker 1: A trustworthy statement that Christ Jesus came into the world
- 1:46Speaker 1: to save sinners among whom I am foremost of all.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Do you ever feel like that?
- 1:54Speaker 1: That you must be one of the worst sinners. Maybe
- 1:57Speaker 1: nobody else sees it or knows it, but you know
- 1:59Speaker 1: that secret sin that just keeps coming back and back
- 2:02Speaker 1: and back at you.
- 2:05Speaker 1: In John chapter 1 verses 16 and 17, the apostle
- 2:09Speaker 1: John writes about Jesus Christ and says, For of His
- 2:14Speaker 1: fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace, for
- 2:20Speaker 1: the law was given through Moses.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Grace and truth were realised through Jesus Christ.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Moses gave us the books of the Old Testament with
- 2:33Speaker 1: the 10 Commandments and God's moral expectations.
- 2:37Speaker 1: We couldn't meet up to them, but grace and truth
- 2:42Speaker 1: came through Jesus Christ. In fact, in Romans chapter 5
- 2:45Speaker 1: verse 20, Paul says, Where sin increased, grace abounded all
- 2:51Speaker 1: the more.
- 2:52Speaker 1: The reality is which you need to accept this morning.
- 2:57Speaker 1: God has enough grace for you.
- 3:01Speaker 1: You know, it's good for you to recognise that you've
- 3:04Speaker 1: offended God. You've offended Him personally, and you've offended His justice.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Your words have offended him when you've told lies or
- 3:15Speaker 1: taken his name in vain or spoken harshly to someone.
- 3:20Speaker 1: And your attitude has offended him when you've harboured anger
- 3:25Speaker 1: or bitterness or hatred towards someone.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Your thoughts have offended him when you pursued sensuality or evil.
- 3:35Speaker 1: It's good and it's healthy to recognise that and to
- 3:39Speaker 1: realise that there's a weight of guilt that stands between
- 3:43Speaker 1: me and God, but listen.
- 3:46Speaker 1: It is just as important to recognise that no matter
- 3:51Speaker 1: how big the mountain of sin in my life is,
- 3:55Speaker 1: the mountain of God's grace is bigger.
- 4:00Speaker 1: His grace
- 4:02Speaker 1: Is more than abundant for you.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Turn to him now you will find not condemnation.
- 4:11Speaker 1: But grace.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I'm John North
