- 0:24SPEAKER_00: We didn't fit here.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: After another fit episode today to learn more.
- 0:34SPEAKER_02: Hi guys, welcome back to Speaker Eric.
- 0:36SPEAKER_02: This is your host active.
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: I have another amazing guest for you guys today.
- 0:41SPEAKER_02: She is a celebrity specialist.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: Some of her clients have included names like Mary Kate, actually I said, amongst many, many others.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: And she is very humble about her career.
- 0:57SPEAKER_02: She doesn't like talking about her clients, which I completely really.
- 1:02SPEAKER_02: I just wanted to make it clear that she is a slow baby.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: So without further ado, I want to introduce you guys to Ida because Ida, thank you so much for coming on to our little show.
- 1:10SPEAKER_02: And um I'm so excited that you're here.
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: Can you start off by just telling us about how you got into skincare and your whole journey in this industry?
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: Background.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: And how I started.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: So um I came to US in 1992 from the war zone in former Yugoslavia.
- 1:29SPEAKER_01: I'm Albanian from former Yugoslavia.
- 1:32SPEAKER_01: And I was infatuated with skin always because my, you know, my mom my mom was my model, like about skincare, about looking good, and and skin was the most important thing that uh you have to take care of.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: And then, you know, I had my passion, that was my passion.
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: And when I came to US, I was introduced to this brand Biologique Criche, which uh I never knew that it exists.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: It's huge now.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: It's huge now, thanks to you.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, thank you, thank you.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: Well, I you know, when some you when you do something with passion, I think the success comes afterwards.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: And uh I had so much passion because, first of all, I was taken back and I was a little bit scared of the the Biologique Recherche skincare line when I was introduced to it.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Why, I tell you why.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: That time, 1994, 1993, they came to US and I would I was introduced to them at 1994.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Nobody in any skincare business used serums.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: No, you did not have any skincare line with serums, you had gels, you had beautiful bottles, you had great smelling creams, but not actual results.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: It was how how you feel with the skincare, not actual what that skincare does to your skin.
- 3:03SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: So when I started with them, they had so many products within the skincare line.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: And the owner, uh, Ivan Alush, who was a master for me, he was a master of the skin.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: And by yeah, I mean, nobody knew skin the way he did.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: And you know, so many times I brought my girlfriends who did not have any money over the years, and he would look at their skin and he would know what is the problem inside their gut.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: Wow, wow, we learned we learned from him in that way, yeah.
- 3:40SPEAKER_01: Yes, so we were talking about the gut then with him, yeah.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: And now people are talking about the the the issues with the with the health and with the with the food, what that does it do for the skin, and yeah, he knew he knew then about that.
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: Um he had the intuition, and I think that's yeah, that's you know, that's such a great point that you make.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: And I'm so thank you for sharing that story because um, you know, people talk about how there are so many um you know, ancient, like and you know, just old reasons why now we are having the skincare products that we have.
- 4:17SPEAKER_02: So to you know, this is goes back into that same idea, right?
- 4:21SPEAKER_02: It's like somebody had just this inner instinct, yeah.
- 4:24SPEAKER_02: Yes, yeah, you know, um tell us more about your background.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: I want to go back to that conversation.
- 4:29SPEAKER_02: I want you to go into into depth, yes.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: So, you know, I finished informing Goslavia, that was my passion.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: You you had to have a college degree because you know you could not be just aesthetician.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: So I had my college degree, and then on a side, I had my passion, which was my skincare.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: And uh I started with things at home when my mother was teaching me what is good for this and what is good for the in terms of the egg and egg white and the mask from the egg white.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and uh so it started like that, and uh and when I came to US, I really wanted to go further up and to be.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: I mean, I had the sources, I mean, in US, I mean, the you know, working with VR when I started, and and I went to I had to go to back to school again because diplomas from Europe they they don't.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: I know it's so annoying, right?
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: With that nonsense, it's yeah, yeah, I know it is, it is, but you know, it is what it is.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: I mean, you have to go by the rules of the country that you live in, of course, of course, and yes, so I started working for biologique research as a receptionist just to get in.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: I had to get in because I saw the results that they had with a skincare.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Right and I went to school at night, and while I was going to school, he was teaching me with his wife, coming monthly because they saw the potential.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: They told me that you have a potential and a passion that we're gonna really work and give you this knowledge.
- 6:09SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: Wow, okay, that's amazing.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and uh so um then I became a manager of the skin of the company that was making maybe 5,000 a year in US.
- 6:24SPEAKER_01: And and then I worked with with the with a son.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: They have only one son, which is Philippe Alouch, Dr.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: Philippe Alouch, microbiologist.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: And we went, yes, to the skincare shows trying to make people really um understand the philosophy behind biologique.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: But you know what?
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: The times are changed now.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: How so?
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: What do you mean?
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Yes, the times are changed now because now we want people want to go with not only with skincare, with food, with everything, they want to go deeper, they want to go to the bottom of the source of the problem, right?
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then and then it was only oh, I don't like the smell, oh I don't like the bottle the way it looks, because you you need to put that bottle in somebody's bathroom shelf, right?
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: And it has to look good.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: People will buy that just to look good, right?
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: It's like oh, people buy things just because they're pretty, you know.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: No, yeah, like it doesn't matter if it works or not.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: No, yeah, exactly.
- 7:32SPEAKER_01: So the skincare is not about looking good, it's about really having the results, right?
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: It's not about the bottle looking good, it's about no us looking good.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: Yes, and yes, it's about us looking good, and you know what?
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: I always try to explain even then to people that when your skin looks good without any makeup, you can put anything on, and you would look like a million dollar.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 8:02SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 8:03SPEAKER_02: I don't, you know, I want to say this because I have such an appreciation for um really like a lot of European women, a lot of um, you know, um, especially when in the Russia area and the uh Yugoslavia and all these because there's this appreciation for natural beauty.
- 8:22SPEAKER_02: Because women, you know, the grand like our grandmothers and back in the day, they were hardworking women, you know what I mean?
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: Like they were, yeah, they were doing, but they were so naturally beautiful, and so they were I think you know what I mean?
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: Like it's like that's what I think.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, what you're saying is like it just it hits my heart because of that, because this is the real you know, essence and the real passion of skincare, what you're describing.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: Yes, but the you know, the passion of skincare comes with commitment, like everything else in life.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: If you are not committed to do your routine twice a day, you're not gonna get results, like everything else in life.
- 9:04SPEAKER_01: It comes with commitment, and I am spreading that word, right?
- 9:10SPEAKER_01: And I'm trying to work to do that with my personal clients, and now with consultation that I do online.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: Um, you do an online consult now.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: That's that's nice.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: I do it online consult, they go to aidabikash.com, they buy a gift certificate for$100.
- 9:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but that doesn't come to me personally, that goes to the products that they purchase after my consultation.
- 9:34SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay, that's nice.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: I I love that.
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: That's really yes, it does a service.
- 9:39SPEAKER_02: I mean, you're it's like having an access to an expert, and you know what I mean?
- 9:44SPEAKER_02: And the expert is also going above and beyond to give you.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yes.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: You know why I I decided not because I'm a perfect person, nobody's perfect.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: I decided to do this because during these times when people are hurt financially and emotionally in every way, I was trying to help people and work with their with in their budget.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: So I at least almost everybody.
- 10:11SPEAKER_02: And that's that's truly, you know, I think that's a phenomenal um, you know, not only in in the business aspect, but personality-wise, that's not many people are like that.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: You know, I'll say this because you know, kindness, I think, since skincare, we talk about skincare, right?
- 10:26SPEAKER_02: But it's also self-care, and it's also about being kind to yourself and to others, and you know, and that whole like you know what I mean, the whole philosophy of that is there.
- 10:36SPEAKER_02: And I think what you're saying here is basically it feeds to that.
- 10:39SPEAKER_02: I mean, you really care about people's skin health, and you really care about, you know, just the natural beauty, and and you know, I think people like you are the real experts in this industry.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, people ask, you know what I mean?
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: I hope so.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: I hope so.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: You know, when you know more, when you know more, you always think that you know less.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: I can never say that I know everything, but I learn and I can learn from somebody else, and I'm open always to new things and new learning.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: But what I what I um also came to realization that unfortunately we are a nation here talking about America with no confidence.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: People don't don't have any confidence.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: I think the media does that, they have a perception that you have to look in a certain way, yes, and your skin has to look in a certain way, and the confidence has to come from childhood, the way you you know, and and and and from the people that surround you, and from the teachers and from the mother, and uh and all all that.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: So when you have, and I always tell them, when you have a good skin, the confidence comes back, right?
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: Right, it does it start with the skin.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Everybody who looks at you when they meet you first time, they don't look at your makeup, they want to know your skin, right?
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: Like, how does she look like she's 30 and she's you know what I mean?
- 12:05SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, yeah, I know, yeah.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: And that's that's because it shines your whole your whole body and your whole presence shines when your skin looks good, I think.
- 12:13SPEAKER_01: You know, oh definitely.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: So so this is how I started with uh, and again, thanks to Biologique, because they changed my perspective of how people should take care of the skin.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: Because with every other company out there, and companies that are huge with the marketing, I always say marketing companies with a huge marketing skills and that they always market the products, yeah.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: The active ingredients in the skincare that they put in is very low.
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: So it's up to you.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: You want to buy a fashion in a bottle or you want to buy results, results.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: No, I agree, and I want you to actually talk more about that because I think um you're very correct, very correct.
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: And I love the point you made about America and how we are like, you know, there's so much media influence.
- 13:08SPEAKER_02: And I want to just say, you know, I I've noticed in women who are um, you know, again, with the in the same geographical locations I described earlier, there is this innate confidence.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: And I think it's because of this.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: Um, you know, you guys are just, I don't know, more it feels more accepting.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: I can say that because whenever I traveled to those areas in the world, I felt more at home in a way.
- 13:29SPEAKER_02: You know what I'm saying?
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: Like you know what it comes.
- 13:32SPEAKER_01: I'm so sorry to interrupt you for a second because I'm gonna forget.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think I think it comes from that you it has to be with the personality.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: The most important thing that my mother taught me from childhood is the beauty comes from the personality of the person, from the experience in life, right?
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: Right, and not for that visual like perfection.
- 13:59SPEAKER_01: Perfection in Europe is not good.
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: People don't like that, yeah, yeah, you're right.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: It's humanity, it's like they see humanity for being humanity, it's not humanity exactly, and and and uh love about yourself.
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: I mean, you have to nourish that from the childhood.
- 14:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: And that's a beautiful point, yeah.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: Yes, from the childhood.
- 14:24SPEAKER_01: It comes from everything from the childhood.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: But what what uh also uh uh I remember uh when I started working in US that people were interested for immediate gratification, overnight results, which in the long run I always call them bad results.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, that's great.
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I agree.
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: Can you elaborate on that?
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: Because yes, um, yes, please tell us more about that.
- 14:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so uh overnight results is like putting a bandage with antibiotics for the skin, yeah, and different creams that they have different strength strength of of uh peels and acidic uh component that really they can look better for a day, but you will never know.
- 15:15SPEAKER_01: It always comes afterwards in America in the long run.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: Oh, we just found out that this does this for the skin.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: What are the side effects?
- 15:23SPEAKER_01: I tell the people look for the side effects, right?
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: So don't work overnight results for overnight results, they will not help you the skin to heal and to regenerate, and that's what biologique came in and changed the whole perspective of the skincare that we see today.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that people talk about skin, they got it from Biologique.
- 15:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I I know I I mean, even today, the the biggest of stars, and that you know what I mean, everybody who really recognizes they go back to this brand.
- 15:58SPEAKER_02: So, can you tell me like some tell me about some of the clients you've had that if that's okay?
- 16:03SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't know if you're allowed to share, but uh not not really because uh uh um the clients that they come to me, the the famous I mean clients, but I I I treat everybody the same.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: Maybe I come from the yeah, yes, you know what I treat because for me, uh coming from Eastern Europe, yeah, movie stars and this doesn't affect me the way people see them in America.
- 16:29SPEAKER_02: Yes, oh that's such a good point.
- 16:31SPEAKER_02: Yes, yeah, at all.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: I know for me, yes, nothing it's like okay, it's the famous person, but the famous person for me this is the person who walks in into my spa, yes, and wants the help from me that I am here to treat everybody the same, yeah, yeah.
- 16:51SPEAKER_02: So I'm just I'm smiling right now.
- 16:53SPEAKER_02: I wish you know, because I really everything you're saying, I feel like I'm talking to someone so wise, and I and I really love this.
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: I love this conversation.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: Um, I'm so you know, I want you to tell me about what you think a good like a routine is for some everyone listening out there.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: Is there some advice you have about what they can do?
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: You know, just every day.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: First of all, don't think that doing also, we are a nation of peels, of using so many peeling, so many lasers, overdoing everything.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then what happened?
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: Like, I remember the owner of the biological again.
- 17:31SPEAKER_01: I have to go back to him because you know he was like my father in US.
- 17:36SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: My family in US was biologic riche.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: So uh I always remember him telling me the outer layer of the skin is like the roof of the house.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: If you have expensive roof and no leakage, you don't have a problem in the house, is the same with the outer layer of the skin.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: If you build the outer layer of the skin in a way, if you treat it well, yeah, you're not gonna have problems with your skin in the long run.
- 18:08SPEAKER_01: Skin cancers, first of all, they are many, so much more than in Europe, and nobody uses more SPFs than us in America.
- 18:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, that's a great point.
- 18:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, uh Dr.
- 18:21SPEAKER_02: Natalia Spearings, um, she was talking about that.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: How there's so many now they're coming out with studies that are saying that you know sunscreen is now causing skin cancer.
- 18:30SPEAKER_02: So, you know.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Yes, I I know, but it depends from the companies.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: If you have to really uh uh uh uh put money if you want to spend like uh uh uh on a on a something expensive, you have to spend on a sunscreen sunscreen.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: Sunscreen has to be expensive, not cheap, right?
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: Right, but good formulations, good formulations, yes, good formulations, and there are many uh uh many companies and many doctors who make amazing sunscreens, yeah and and you have to really go with uh the ones who have a great reputation, yeah, and and they are known for that.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: So uh, but um talking about now, I want to talk about broader things about skincare.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: Like what does it include when somebody comes to me and tells me I need one thing, I don't have time, I need one thing on my skin, but in the same time, I have acne, I have dehydration, I have hyperpigmentation.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: Right, can one think treat it all?
- 19:41SPEAKER_01: No way, no, there's no way, yeah, no, no way.
- 19:45SPEAKER_01: So you need at least five, six things to be targeting every problem that the person has, right?
- 19:54SPEAKER_01: Right and and before was always like I remember like 10 years, 15 years ago.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm not ready to treat the skin yet because I have time, I'm 30.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: I don't need to take care of the skin now.
- 20:09SPEAKER_01: I can do some Botox, but the skin is okay.
- 20:12SPEAKER_01: I can come to you after 40 when I need it, and now people are changing that.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: It's not important when you need to fix the problem on the skin.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: You prevent the problem by starting at the age 15, 20th or 13.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: See, I've been telling my, you know, I have um a friend and um his daughter, I've been telling also like it's never too early, she's 16 years old.
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: I'm like, just start, you know, good skin habits.
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: So, like, what's your advice for um young women actually that are just getting started with skin health?
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: Like, um yeah, what what would you recommend to them?
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: Okay, so to them, uh obviously a 15-year-old doesn't need five, sixteen, she's 15.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: The number one that I tell them to do is to get rid of dairy.
- 21:03SPEAKER_02: Okay, okay.
- 21:05SPEAKER_02: Why because of their breakouts?
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, not only breakouts, you don't understand what I'm seeing lately with with dairy.
- 21:12SPEAKER_01: Dairy, eczema, oh dry patches, yes, breakouts.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: I mean a lot of issues on a skin that they will have a bigger problem later on.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: So when they cut the dairy, also we have to understand the food is not what it used to be before, right?
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: It's not from a farm, it's not from the how it's not a farm.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so now you have a 15-year-old who looks like a 20-year-old, yes, and the skin looks like a 20 year old, right?
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: Because of the hormones, they are growing faster and the skin is changing faster.
- 21:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so what I tell them to do is always never use oil free product on your skin, even if you are young and you have oily skin.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: Why is that?
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: Because usually it comes oily skin, oil-free products.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: What that does is stripping the protective oils that your skin naturally produces, and these oils with age they start to diminish.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: What's gonna happen?
- 22:19SPEAKER_01: You're gonna have the oily coat on the surface of the skin, dehydration inside.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 22:26SPEAKER_01: So it's always about balance.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: And how do you balance?
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: Be gentle to your skin.
- 22:31SPEAKER_01: Use always milky cleanser because the milky cleanser it removes the makeup, it doesn't let the skin to feel tight, and in the same time, it's nourishing.
- 22:44SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 22:45SPEAKER_02: Ida, I want to actually say this.
- 22:47SPEAKER_02: Um, I don't know if you've heard of the company, probably not, but there's a new this one Milky Cleanser I tried.
- 22:53SPEAKER_02: It's so good.
- 22:54SPEAKER_02: I want I I would love, I would love to bring it to you to see what you think about it.
- 22:57SPEAKER_02: Because it was like Yeah, it was Emojing and Co.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: is the name of the company.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: EMO.
- 23:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you never, it's very small, very, very small company, but I'm telling you, I want to I want to know your opinion when you try it.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I would love to.
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I would love to try it.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the the so the milky cleanser, that's a great, that's a great recommendation.
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: And I even to this day, I look for those, you know what I mean?
- 23:19SPEAKER_02: My cleansers.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because the skin perception of skin that has to feel tight afterwards, right?
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: That is the wrong perception.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: The skin doesn't have to feel tight after the jelly, foamy cleansers.
- 23:34SPEAKER_01: Those are cleansers, they are stripping the oils from your skin.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: And the second, the most important thing, you know, it's like the skin on a face and the same on the body.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: You know, so many times you think you say, Oh, I'm using the the the cream, but I feel like my skin is so congested and I feel so dry.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: Can I tell you why?
- 23:56SPEAKER_01: Because if you don't exfoliate daily mild the skin, those pores cannot be open and cannot receive other things that you're gonna put on top, right?
- 24:09SPEAKER_02: Right, yeah.
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: So they need, and of course, nothing is like lotion P50 from Biologique Recherche, nothing in the market will ever ever produce anything like this.
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: So do has the formula stayed exactly the same then the whole time?
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: Yes, 1970 is the same, which I still use it after since 1994, and it's the only product that I never I mean, if I have to go to the hospital, which didn't happen to me, yeah, I will probably not take it.
- 24:39SPEAKER_01: But that's the only thing that if it's an emergency, I have it with me.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: Yes, that's a P50.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: I can't live without P50.
- 24:47SPEAKER_02: One thing I want to say to everyone listening is if you just so Ida, you carry it in your spa, right?
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: Yes, I carry it in my spa as a whole line of biologique, and also whoever are familiar with biologique.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think the whole skincare world.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, yes, but the most important thing is with Biologique, it's a philosophy, it's a different philosophy about the skin.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: I always tell people whatever you learned about skincare, you have to put it on the side, yeah, forget that you knew anything, and start over from the beginning how to learn how to treat the skin.
- 25:24SPEAKER_01: And you start with a biologic.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: That's beautiful.
- 25:27SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 25:28SPEAKER_02: And it's one of those products, I'm not gonna lie to you, when I first bought the P50 lotion, I was very hesitant because I knew that I had to put this in the hands of an aesthetician, somebody who knows how to use it properly.
- 25:40SPEAKER_02: So, you know, I was not scared of it, I had actually an immense respect for it, and I did not want to misuse the product.
- 25:47SPEAKER_02: I wanted to see because I remember I looked up YouTube videos and everything.
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: So meeting you is such a blessing for me because now you feel so.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: No, the yes, uh, it's a lot of uh miscommunication and also a lot of people who are not affiliated with uh expertise in a skincare that they post the way they think that should be used, and that is really wrong because people have to understand this is not a chemical peel.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: This is a a balancing lotion that should be used twice a day, every single day, twice a day.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: The only time you cannot use it if you use any peels or any retinol, strong retinoles, you can't come, you cannot use them at the same time.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: You have to stop everything and start using only P50.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: And the first week, when you start using it, you may have some breakouts, it's the purging effect that starts to happen from inside out, right?
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: Right, yeah, and that is very normal, it's cleaning your skin from inside out, right?
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 26:58SPEAKER_01: And after a week, when the when the numbness, the tingling sensation that starts to feel less, it means the skin is getting more balanced.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: I love that, and I think that you know, I want to actually say that this is so good that you're explaining this because you're right, there's not enough information out there about the P50 lotion, I think, in the right way.
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: So, everyone listening, please like I I urge you guys to go to Ida's you know website to see if she you can get a consultation with her because I want people to learn it the right way because I know this product.
- 27:34SPEAKER_02: I mean, even before speaking to you, I had heard such wonderful things, you know.
- 27:38SPEAKER_02: But again, like you said, you're the expert.
- 27:41SPEAKER_02: So it's you know, thank you.
- 27:43SPEAKER_02: Everyone needs to learn.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: Oh, thank you.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: But uh, you know, so so um, and also it's not then after P50, uh, yes, you're opening the pores, you are preparing the skin, like I said, to receive other things.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: The skin is breathing, it's not any more congestion, it's not like uh it cleans also the the blackheads, but then there comes the serums.
- 28:07SPEAKER_01: Nobody knew ever what the serums are.
- 28:10SPEAKER_01: People used to use only the cream and feel like that's all I need.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: People have to understand, the consumers have to understand that using the cream, it's only protecting the outer layer of the skin.
- 28:22SPEAKER_01: The cream doesn't do anything for other layers inside, so you have to feed the skin with nutrition, which in this case are water-based serums that you use before the cream.
- 28:37SPEAKER_02: So, why water-based?
- 28:39SPEAKER_02: Can you go into that?
- 28:40SPEAKER_02: Because, like, yes, there's so many, like you know, oil ones now.
- 28:43SPEAKER_02: So, yes, yeah.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: Oh, that yeah, the oil ones, okay.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: They biologique has uh oil ones too, and they are called finishing serums.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: Okay, oil-based uh water-based, they penetrate.
- 28:54SPEAKER_01: You have it's a small molecule, right?
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: Oil-based usually doesn't penetrate if you use it before the cream, right?
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 29:02SPEAKER_01: So that's why that's why Biologique has uh water-based that you use before the cream to feed the uh the skin inside with nutrition, and then you use the cream.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: And why do you use the oil-based finishing serums on top?
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: I tell you why.
- 29:17SPEAKER_01: It makes so much sense and it has it makes common sense, is that you know when you put the cream in the morning and then after a few hours during the day by 3 p.m., you feel like, oh, my skin looks so dull.
- 29:32SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: And yeah, it doesn't, it doesn't look like I had any, I put anything this morning.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: This is where the finishing serums come.
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: They seal, they are oil-based, they're supposed to be used on top of the cream to seal everything that you put underneath so the moisture can hold longer.
- 29:52SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: So you are less dehydrated, you are less dry.
- 29:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: And and on top of that, you have a glow.
- 30:00SPEAKER_02: So it's the last step in your routine that that's what you put on the very end.
- 30:04SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 30:04SPEAKER_01: Yes, but at the very end.
- 30:08SPEAKER_02: Well, this is yeah, this is the kind of information that they people need though, Ida.
- 30:12SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 30:13SPEAKER_02: Like, I think there are so many people, they don't they don't understand the steps.
- 30:16SPEAKER_02: I know I'm one of them.
- 30:17SPEAKER_02: You know, it's very, very complicated.
- 30:19SPEAKER_02: It's a I think skincare is being mistaken for something everybody can do in the right way, where you know, but no disrespect to anybody.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: You know what I'm saying?
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: I'm not saying in any bad way.
- 30:30SPEAKER_02: But like, I mean what I mean is that there needs to be some sort of a method, you know, and and we need to kind of tell people about that because it's no one's understanding when to use what serum, you know, just like I asked you, you know, it's it's an honest question I had for you.
- 30:46SPEAKER_02: And it's it's like thank you.
- 30:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 30:48SPEAKER_02: So um, you know, I urge everyone listening, like, you know, if there's one thing that you can do is educate yourself, and I think, you know, referring to people like Ida, and you know, it you need to do that if you're really serious about your skin health.
- 31:01SPEAKER_02: You know, that's my honest opinion.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: Totally.
- 31:03SPEAKER_01: And and I always say, if you are not committed, if you don't, if you do it once in a while, it's not good to spend the money on something that you're not gonna really gonna blame somebody for not seeing the results.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: And it comes from you, everything starts from from you, right?
- 31:20SPEAKER_02: So I want you I want you to tell me, I want you to tell me when you were growing up, what did you do for your beauty ritual?
- 31:26SPEAKER_02: Did you have any routine, or did you just kind of no you were a kid and didn't care?
- 31:31SPEAKER_01: Yes, no, I I cared because my mother cared, so my mother was my role role model.
- 31:35SPEAKER_01: I mean, she's the she was the person who never ever let herself, I mean, it was different times, you know, sweatpants, or even when she cooked, she always said to me, you know, when your dad comes home, he has to see me looking good because the whole family looks good and is happy when the when the mother and father are happy.
- 31:57SPEAKER_01: So around the mother, also who takes care of herself, the children are gonna take care of themselves too.
- 32:05SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: Because this is the person that you see every time, all the time from the from from the childhood.
- 32:12SPEAKER_01: So the person who takes care of herself is gonna make you take care of yourself, even if she's not gonna push you, she's gonna just that picture of you looking at your mother.
- 32:22SPEAKER_01: So um she was always preparing, they had big parties with my dad for New Year's Eve.
- 32:29SPEAKER_01: That time it was a socialist country, they did not have, they were intellectuals who my mother was a French teacher, my father was a journalist and historian.
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: And um, but once a year, I mean, it was, you know, I mean, she did masks once a week, right?
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: Which were always, and she always made sure to to take me to the kitchen and to show me the the white egg and and uh and the egg white and and how to apply other remedies to mix them together.
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: And she said, You go you're gonna start at 15 years old to really pay attention to your skin because it's gonna stay with you a long time.
- 33:07SPEAKER_01: If you start now, you will never forget.
- 33:09SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: Yes, it's it's like cooking, it's like cooking, your mother's cooking.
- 33:15SPEAKER_01: Totally.
- 33:16SPEAKER_01: And like I say to my clients, why Russian woman has such a beautiful skin?
- 33:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it starts with a cold water, yeah.
- 33:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, then you don't say, Oh, oh, yes, you don't wash your face with hot water.
- 33:31SPEAKER_02: Okay, so what about the you know, everyone is saying you should have like that medium temperature water, so it's not true then.
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: We should use cold water on on a skin, on washing your face, cold water is amazing.
- 33:43SPEAKER_01: Okay, why though?
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: What's your what like what's the it tightens it tightens the skin, it it contracts the the pores and and and uh blood circulation, so you don't really you know when the steam and humid uh the steam and and uh when you go to the classes like with the that they have like hot glass inside, it's dehydration.
- 34:06SPEAKER_01: The whole yeah, you you are dehydrated in the skin, and with the skin being dehydrated, you can have problems with reactive skin, you can uh uh with capillaries, it's it's shocking to the skin, right?
- 34:22SPEAKER_01: Right, that's yeah, yeah.
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: So the the cold water really helps the skin uh be more clear and more even.
- 34:31SPEAKER_02: You know, it's it's so interesting you're telling me this because in the winter my skin is always you know, people say you get dry skin in the winter.
- 34:38SPEAKER_02: For me, it's like it's better, it looks more nicer, actually.
- 34:43SPEAKER_02: Because and I don't know if that's because of the cold, you know.
- 34:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the cold, the cold is good, but then you have to the way you put layers on your body in the winter, you have to put layers on on a on the skin.
- 34:55SPEAKER_01: Right, right, right.
- 34:56SPEAKER_02: I just put like you know, I do my do my skincare stuff, and I and I hope that you approve of my skin.
- 35:01SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna show you what I do because um I want you to tell me if I'm doing it right.
- 35:05SPEAKER_02: But yeah, I basically just hydrate my skin, you know, in the winter.
- 35:08SPEAKER_02: I make sure I'm really, really put locking in that moisture, like you were saying, you know, um, with oil on top.
- 35:13SPEAKER_02: And I but you know, in general, I find my skin is not as you know prone to breaking out in the winter time, it's not, you know, it doesn't want to do all those real finicky things that it does sometimes in the summer.
- 35:25SPEAKER_01: See, yes, because in the summer it's humidity, yeah.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: So humidity is good for hydration for us.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: That's great.
- 35:32SPEAKER_01: But what that's it too, it can clog if you don't mask.
- 35:35SPEAKER_01: And another thing about masking every day that people ask me, but why masking every day?
- 35:41SPEAKER_01: And I say always, look at the climate that we live in, right?
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: The stress, the food, the climate.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: It's always different in a day.
- 35:50SPEAKER_01: The weather changes, right?
- 35:53SPEAKER_01: Yes, so you have to adjust to that.
- 35:56SPEAKER_01: That's why if you clean the skin every day and pollution, oh my god, pollution, yes.
- 36:01SPEAKER_01: Yes, when you use the masks, yes, when you use masking every day, you are really cleaning the skin every day from this pollution and free from this clogness.
- 36:12SPEAKER_02: So, what's your favorite mask then?
- 36:15SPEAKER_02: Like, what do you recommend?
- 36:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, mask vivant is the cult again, it's it's biologique mask, it's the cult on a on a on everybody that you go online.
- 36:24SPEAKER_01: It's a made from yeast.
- 36:26SPEAKER_01: And you you yes, you would think that it's purifying, it's constantly constantly purifies the skin, and this is where biologique is different from other skincare lines because using the yeast doesn't let the build-up congestion into your skin.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: That's why you see the difference in the long run.
- 36:45SPEAKER_01: You're constantly purifying the skin.
- 36:49SPEAKER_02: That's so interesting.
- 36:51SPEAKER_02: I you know, it's so crazy because people are not talking about they need to be publishing papers on this.
- 36:56SPEAKER_02: Like, why are they not studying?
- 36:58SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 36:59SPEAKER_02: Like it's so confusing to me.
- 37:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because you know, also people have different, you know, like um I mean, people have different perceptions, and it's everybody is like I feel bad for consumers today because it's so much information, and everybody comes with a different thing.
- 37:19SPEAKER_01: So they don't know who to trust.
- 37:22SPEAKER_02: Right, right.
- 37:22SPEAKER_02: That's a good point.
- 37:23SPEAKER_01: And I yes, and I'm not saying that they should trust me.
- 37:26SPEAKER_01: I mean, they you know, if they like me, they are people who I am like uh uh close to and and and they are pro uh to my approach, they are you know, they are uh they like my approach, but they are people who you know don't maybe they go to somebody else and it's fine, but you have to find one person, not jump from one person to another person right.
- 37:47SPEAKER_01: It's like a guru, right?
- 37:49SPEAKER_02: Like in like in the same gurus, yeah.
- 37:51SPEAKER_02: So yeah, I trust you.
- 37:53SPEAKER_01: I mean, you know, trust knowledge, you have to trust knowledge.
- 37:55SPEAKER_01: That's my thing.
- 37:56SPEAKER_01: Yes, you know, you have to trust knowledge, and you have to always say, I if somebody talks about the skin, yeah, I always say, look at their skin.
- 38:06SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 38:07SPEAKER_01: If their skin doesn't look good, you can't trust that person.
- 38:10SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, that for sure I can tell.
- 38:13SPEAKER_02: Right, right.
- 38:14SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 38:14SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah, you know, I don't I actually want to tell you one thing.
- 38:18SPEAKER_02: This is very uh, you know, um random, but I love speaking to women with the with the Russian background because I took Russian in fifth grade.
- 38:25SPEAKER_02: Oh my god, lucky you feels like home to me when I speak to you.
- 38:29SPEAKER_01: Yes, no, that is that is, I mean, it's a beautiful language.
- 38:33SPEAKER_01: I mean, I speak I speak Yugoslavian, uh besides my my own Albanian, but I speak uh Yugoslavian, which is very similar to Russian.
- 38:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and that it's the accent, the accent is very similar, yeah.
- 38:46SPEAKER_01: Yes, exactly.
- 38:47SPEAKER_01: So I I am I am very close to that background of Eastern European, yeah, because it's a hard work, nothing comes easy, right?
- 38:56SPEAKER_02: Right, right.
- 38:57SPEAKER_01: In order to achieve something, you have to really work hard and not jump from one thing to another thing or instant gratification doesn't exist for us.
- 39:07SPEAKER_01: I'm talking about older generation, the new generation, I think it changed there too.
- 39:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think they're learning, you know.
- 39:15SPEAKER_02: I think the older generation, we I don't know.
- 39:18SPEAKER_02: For I'm in the millennial generation, and I think with us, we were like kind of an experiment, you know what I mean?
- 39:24SPEAKER_02: Like we they had so many weird things that we were exposed to.
- 39:28SPEAKER_01: I know, and it's not easy for you guys for the millennials.
- 39:31SPEAKER_01: I mean, I feel for them, like it's it's it's it's uh so much information, and it's uh they really people people don't know where to go and how to get around.
- 39:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, and also another important thing that I want to address is the skincare is becoming a fashion, yes, it is, and it's not it's not supposed to be a fashion.
- 39:54SPEAKER_01: No, the skincare, it's a skincare.
- 39:57SPEAKER_01: You have to really know what you are using, and you don't go by a beautiful name or by beautiful look and bottle.
- 40:06SPEAKER_01: Yes, that is important, but then again, if you do not have results within within the three, four weeks, and the skin doesn't get better, not doesn't feel okay, it has to get better than it was before you start using it.
- 40:21SPEAKER_01: Or another misconception that people have, if they don't break out when they say that, oh, I broke out, doesn't work for me, that may be good if you break out in the beginning.
- 40:32SPEAKER_01: It means something is happening inside, right?
- 40:35SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 40:36SPEAKER_01: But if the breakout cons uh like continues after like three, four weeks, then maybe you have to think about the product they are using, but also you have to think about what you are mixing with what, right, right, and then you know, you have to know that if you use one skincare line, try to use the skincare line and then get rid of it after or you don't like it and then move to another skincare line.
- 41:02SPEAKER_02: How long do you how long do you suggest someone should try if they if they pick up a new line?
- 41:06SPEAKER_02: How long do you think they should try it before they four weeks?
- 41:08SPEAKER_02: Four weeks.
- 41:10SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's that's solid, yeah.
- 41:12SPEAKER_01: Yes, four weeks, and then you can move to another skin line.
- 41:15SPEAKER_01: But when you know, when I do consultation, all I see is yeah, I'm using this cleanser from this company, and I use this lotion from this company, and I use this serum from this company, and I use this mask from this company, another three masks, and then another three, four creams, but my skin is not good.
- 41:33SPEAKER_01: How on earth is it supposed to be the skin good when you don't know they are made for from different ingredients and different concepts, they may not work together, right?
- 41:45SPEAKER_01: They're not going to work together.
- 41:47SPEAKER_02: The chemical formulas are totally different, yeah.
- 41:49SPEAKER_01: Totally different, but uh again, I don't blame them because somebody told them and somebody you know posts uh you know Instagram now, social media is everything, and you know, they they yes, everything.
- 42:00SPEAKER_01: So people really have to rethink about the skin, skincare that the skincare is not uh 10 purses, different purses, and let me wear this person today and let me wear the the other person next next day.
- 42:13SPEAKER_01: The skincare is very serious, and you have to be serious and educate yourself with an expert in that field, how to do and what to use.
- 42:23SPEAKER_02: Exactly.
- 42:24SPEAKER_02: I completely agree, I completely agree, and thank you, Ida, for everything that you've said today.
- 42:29SPEAKER_02: It's seriously, this has been one of the best conversations I've had.
- 42:32SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, no, thank you, no, thank you.
- 42:34SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I'm trying, uh I I try just to make a common sense.
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: I mean, you know, and but you know, you're rare, you're a rare kind of person.
- 42:42SPEAKER_02: There people don't do that nowadays, you know.
- 42:44SPEAKER_02: Common sense is not something many a lot of people I you know, some people, yeah, they still do it, but you will be surprised how many people I meet that, you know, every day I'm like, well, this makes sense, but for you, for some reason it doesn't make sense, you know.
- 42:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, maybe, maybe yes, maybe uh the background that I I grew up and I'm lucky there, and that's what helped me.
- 43:06SPEAKER_01: But uh, I'm very fortunate.
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: I always thank people that I meet in life.
- 43:10SPEAKER_01: You always meet them for different reasons.
- 43:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and one thing that I can I I can can say to everybody who listens to us is like follow your passion.
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: You have to have a passion for something, and I and I'm fortunate to have a passion for skincare, and I will never stop.
- 43:27SPEAKER_01: This is just the beginning for him for me.
- 43:29SPEAKER_01: I love to help people, and I love when people call me back and tell me, you changed my life.
- 43:35SPEAKER_01: I'm happier around my family, my husband, my kids, my partner.
- 43:41SPEAKER_01: And it's because of you that that uh I feel like I'm a different person.
