- 0:00Speaker 1: You know, unk this morning you said you was going
- 0:02Speaker 1: through some things. Uh, and you was thanking God anyway,
- 0:06Speaker 1: even though you were going through something, you're still thinking it. Yeah,
- 0:10Speaker 1: and you know, talk to us about that, about how
- 0:12Speaker 1: to go through adversity and still be able to thank you.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Well, I think what has happened to me is at
- 0:20Speaker 2: my age. You know, I've had enough experiences where it's
- 0:25Speaker 2: gone horribly wrong, y'all. I'm talking about horribly wrong. I
- 0:31Speaker 2: think everybody listening to my voice can look back on
- 0:35Speaker 2: a time that has gone horribly wrong. I'm talking about, man.
- 0:40Speaker 2: I've been in some situations, man, where it was so dark.
- 0:44Speaker 2: You know. It reminded me of a stanza in a poem,
- 0:49Speaker 2: a poem called If by Rudyard Kipling. I learned it
- 0:51Speaker 2: when I was nineteen years old. I made my sons memorize.
- 0:55Speaker 2: But this is not the whole poem, But there is
- 0:57Speaker 2: one stanza in the poem that say, if you can
- 1:01Speaker 2: make one heap of all your winnings, risk it on
- 1:05Speaker 2: one turn of pitch and toss, lose, and start again
- 1:11Speaker 2: at your beginnings, and never once breathe a word about
- 1:15Speaker 2: your loss. I have lived that piece of that poem
- 1:20Speaker 2: so many times, so many times that it has gotten
- 1:27Speaker 2: to the point where I have validated unredacted. I learned
- 1:34Speaker 2: that from the Epstein files, unredacted, factual proof that God
- 1:42Speaker 2: gonna get me through it. I just got facts. Man.
- 1:47Speaker 2: It's happened too many times in my life. Do you know, man,
- 1:52Speaker 2: that God has never ever left me down? Do you
- 1:55Speaker 2: know that as long as I have suffered with situations,
- 1:58Speaker 2: and I've been in some long suffering things, man, God
- 2:03Speaker 2: has never come and got me too late. He's never
- 2:07Speaker 2: been too late. Or now I've waited way longer than
- 2:10Speaker 2: I wanted to. I'm doing that right now. I'm waiting
- 2:12Speaker 2: way longer than I've wanted to. This was supposed to
- 2:17Speaker 2: have been over two years ago. But I just keep
- 2:20Speaker 2: the faith. And just today, just this morning, just like
- 2:25Speaker 2: yesterday and the day before, it got really dark for me. Man.
- 2:29Speaker 2: I mean, man, I've had some health issues. Man, I've
- 2:31Speaker 2: had some some stuff. I'm going through family issues, and
- 2:37Speaker 2: I just keep me because this too shall pass. You
- 2:43Speaker 2: just got to understand that, man. So what I've learned
- 2:47Speaker 2: Isaac Karee had a song one time in the middle
- 2:51Speaker 2: of it, in the middle of it, praise him in
- 2:54Speaker 2: the middle of it. And that's what I do. I've
- 2:57Speaker 2: learned to do that. Now. Do I like it? Nor
- 2:59Speaker 2: I do? Am I uncomfortable? Yes? I am. Do. I
- 3:03Speaker 2: feel like we're cutting it close, you better know it.
- 3:08Speaker 2: But I didn't cut it way closer than this before. Boy,
- 3:12Speaker 2: I've been in so Steve Harvey, You've been in some holes, man,
- 3:17Speaker 2: I've been in some real holes. I've been. I've been
- 3:20Speaker 2: even after I got famous. I've been in some holes, Matt.
- 3:23Speaker 2: I've been in some publicly, some publicly humiliating moments where
- 3:30Speaker 2: people have taken shots and jabs at me publicly. Man,
- 3:34Speaker 2: I'm talking about have said some of the most hurtful
- 3:38Speaker 2: things I'm talking about, man, and was trying to bury
- 3:41Speaker 2: me with it. But you know what I did. There's
- 3:46Speaker 2: another stanza in a poem that I learned a long
- 3:48Speaker 2: time ago that says, out of the night that covers me.
- 3:53Speaker 2: It's a poem called Invictus. Out of the Night that
- 3:56Speaker 2: covers me, black as the pit, from pole to pole,
- 4:00Speaker 2: I thank God, for whatever may be, for my unconquerable soul.
- 4:05Speaker 2: In the fair clutch of circumstance. I have not winced
- 4:09Speaker 2: nor cried aloud under the bludgeonings of chance. My head
- 4:15Speaker 2: is bloodied but unbowed. Now some more to that, But
- 4:20Speaker 2: I can't tell you how many times I live that way.
- 4:23Speaker 2: My head is bloodied but unbowed, and under the bludgeonings
- 4:27Speaker 2: of chance. That means just the chance of what's happening
- 4:30Speaker 2: to me. I'm taking a bludgeoning. This is worse than
- 4:33Speaker 2: a beating under the bludgeonings of chance. I have not
- 4:39Speaker 2: winced nor cried aloud. My head is bloody but unbowed.
- 4:46Speaker 2: And I do that, man, because time and time again
- 4:49Speaker 2: God has gotten me. See, I'm gonna get blessed for this, Junior.
- 4:53Speaker 2: You don't even know that question, You asking me how
- 4:55Speaker 2: timely it is for me to be able to say
- 4:58Speaker 2: it out loud, and God go to bless me for
- 5:01Speaker 2: telling my side of the story. Now it's preachers out
- 5:05Speaker 2: there that's using me examples of not being a good Christian.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I've heard them. I've been on YouTube, I've been scrolling
- 5:14Speaker 2: and Steve Harvey talking about here Christian he over there
- 5:17Speaker 2: with their Muslims. My best friend is a Muslim. I'd
- 5:20Speaker 2: rather be his friend than your Christian behind the way
- 5:23Speaker 2: you acting anyway, I know some better Muslims than I
- 5:27Speaker 2: know Christians. But I know some better Christians. That's better
- 5:30Speaker 2: than some Muslims. I know. I go both ways. I
- 5:33Speaker 2: accept people for who they are. I hear people talking
- 5:36Speaker 2: about me all the time. Hey, man, I ain't in
- 5:39Speaker 2: the pool pit. I ain't your past. I ain't telling
- 5:42Speaker 2: nobody to follow me and make it to Heaven. I'm
- 5:45Speaker 2: telling you the truth of how my life is. If
- 5:48Speaker 2: more people would tell the truth about how their life
- 5:50Speaker 2: is and admit to your flaws, you could attract more
- 5:53Speaker 2: people to have a relationship with God. That's my job.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Thank you for asking me, Junior, because you just gave
- 5:59Speaker 2: me a chance to witness in my own way. Now
- 6:02Speaker 2: that might not be the preacher's way, but I ain't
- 6:05Speaker 2: no preaching, So feel how you want to feel about me. Man,
- 6:08Speaker 2: I'd be seventy on my next birthday. You know what
- 6:10Speaker 2: I'm finna do. I'm gonna get us put off the
- 6:12Speaker 2: radio on my seventies first. I'm finna tell it all
- 6:15Speaker 2: you need to be here with. Oh know you y'all
- 6:17Speaker 2: have a great day. Talk to God. Know everybody, you
