- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hawkerel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is
- 0:19Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day if you become the
- 0:24Speaker 1: Cockrel Energy you want to atrack. Happy Wednesday, Welcome back
- 0:28Speaker 1: to another episode. I hope you guys enjoyed last week's
- 0:31Speaker 1: episode as much as I did. I am so excited
- 0:35Speaker 1: to be entering a new season and being in the
- 0:38Speaker 1: fall spirit. I feel like I definitely got really into
- 0:42Speaker 1: fall mode this week because I went to home sense
- 0:45Speaker 1: I did all my falled core shopping, found a lot
- 0:48Speaker 1: of new things that I'm really obsessed with. I found
- 0:52Speaker 1: a dog that looks like Freddy. It's like a dog
- 0:55Speaker 1: statue that has a ghost like costume on it with
- 0:59Speaker 1: his little us eyes popping out, and then he has
- 1:01Speaker 1: a little pumpkin in his mouth and it actually lights up.
- 1:05Speaker 1: So I thought it'd be a cute little thing to
- 1:07Speaker 1: put in front of our porch outside with the rest
- 1:10Speaker 1: of our outdoor decor. I also found two glass pumpkins
- 1:14Speaker 1: that I want to use on my coffee table. I
- 1:17Speaker 1: found some pumpkin candles, some coffee table books that are
- 1:20Speaker 1: kind of like in the brown tope colors to decorate
- 1:24Speaker 1: my coffee nook with I don't know, just like a
- 1:26Speaker 1: bunch of things, oh, fall pillows. I ordered some florals
- 1:31Speaker 1: from Amazon, and then of course I have my decor
- 1:34Speaker 1: from last year that I will obviously be reusing for
- 1:37Speaker 1: this year. But I feel like every year I always
- 1:39Speaker 1: just get a few things to add to the current assortment.
- 1:42Speaker 1: And sometimes there's colors that I don't really use anymore
- 1:46Speaker 1: that I probably will keep in the storage bin and
- 1:49Speaker 1: not take out for this year when I decorate this week.
- 1:51Speaker 1: So anyways, just kind of always get a few things
- 1:55Speaker 1: just to kind of keep the style and trends up
- 1:58Speaker 1: to date in the house, and then and whatever I
- 2:01Speaker 1: don't want to use, I just honestly keep the storage bin,
- 2:03Speaker 1: and you know, maybe I'll use it the following year.
- 2:06Speaker 1: But I know there's definitely a few pieces that I
- 2:08Speaker 1: won't use this year, just because the color palette doesn't
- 2:11Speaker 1: go with the color palette that I'm using for this year.
- 2:13Speaker 1: But anyways, I definitely got in the fall mode this
- 2:15Speaker 1: week just by going to home Sense and doing a
- 2:17Speaker 1: bit of fall to core shopping. So if you want
- 2:20Speaker 1: to get in the fall mode like me, I highly
- 2:23Speaker 1: recommend going to your closest home goods or home sense
- 2:26Speaker 1: or just something that's going to get you in the
- 2:27Speaker 1: fall spirit, because that definitely helped. And now I'm just
- 2:31Speaker 1: looking forward to decorating this week and getting into maybe
- 2:35Speaker 1: some pumpkin recipes. I've been really wanting to make some
- 2:38Speaker 1: pumpkin spice coffee. I finally picked up some pumpkin pure
- 2:41Speaker 1: at the grocery store this week, so hoping to make that.
- 2:45Speaker 1: The pumpkin spice bagels I'm actually trying out today, which
- 2:48Speaker 1: I'm really excited about. I'm going to tempt making that,
- 2:51Speaker 1: and yeah, so there's just so much look forward to
- 2:53Speaker 1: this week. And of course I have my fall nail
- 2:55Speaker 1: appointment booked, which I'm also excited about. I think I'm
- 2:58Speaker 1: going to go for either like a deep Harry red
- 3:00Speaker 1: or a dark brown. I also love like dark navy
- 3:04Speaker 1: for the fall season as well. So just a lot
- 3:07Speaker 1: of things to look forward to and prep for the
- 3:10Speaker 1: fall season. I kind of wanted to continue talking about
- 3:13Speaker 1: fall obviously within these next few episodes, but I really
- 3:16Speaker 1: wanted to dedicate this episode about building a fall routine
- 3:20Speaker 1: because I think going into a new season, I think
- 3:22Speaker 1: we all kind of have to adjust our routine when
- 3:25Speaker 1: it comes to a new season. You know, obviously it's
- 3:29Speaker 1: getting darker in the mornings and darker at nights, faster
- 3:32Speaker 1: it's colder, so you know, for me, I used to
- 3:36Speaker 1: love going on my sunrise walks before you know, like
- 3:39Speaker 1: five thirty, and now the sun is not even out
- 3:43Speaker 1: at five thirty. The sun doesn't come up to like
- 3:45Speaker 1: I think, like six thirty now. So yeah, it's kind
- 3:48Speaker 1: of made a bit of an adjustment with my routine.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And I figured I would share some tips on how
- 3:52Speaker 1: to create a routine for yourself if you're someone that
- 3:55Speaker 1: wants to get into a routine this season, if you're
- 3:58Speaker 1: someone that's kind of been out of rote all summer
- 4:01Speaker 1: and wants to get back into a routine, I thought
- 4:03Speaker 1: I would share some tips on how to build a
- 4:05Speaker 1: routine for yourself. And I also thought I would share
- 4:08Speaker 1: my ideal fall morning routine and night routine that I
- 4:11Speaker 1: hope to stick to throughout the fall season. So let's
- 4:14Speaker 1: talk about how we're going to create the ideal fall routine.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Is it going to be a morning routine for you?
- 4:20Speaker 1: Is it going to be a night routine Is it
- 4:21Speaker 1: going to be both? I think the first question is
- 4:24Speaker 1: is that what can you do with your own time
- 4:27Speaker 1: to create an hour of your own schedule of just
- 4:31Speaker 1: focusing on yourself. So let's say you're a nurse that
- 4:34Speaker 1: works an overnight shift. You know you work from five
- 4:36Speaker 1: pm to five am. You know you have to sleep
- 4:39Speaker 1: obviously during the morning to kind of catch up, and
- 4:42Speaker 1: then you know you have a little bit of room
- 4:43Speaker 1: between like one and two pm to do something for
- 4:46Speaker 1: yourself before you start your shift at five pm the
- 4:49Speaker 1: next day. So let's just put that into the scenario.
- 4:52Speaker 1: So if you can't do a morning routine or a
- 4:55Speaker 1: night routine, you're going to take that hour to yourself
- 4:58Speaker 1: and dedicate three of your faceavorite things that you like
- 5:01Speaker 1: to do for yourself. Is it, you know, getting movement in.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Is it just going on a walk or going on
- 5:06Speaker 1: a workout? Is it journaling? Is it reading a book?
- 5:09Speaker 1: Like find time throughout your day to take one hour
- 5:13Speaker 1: of your time to dedicate time to yourself. And it
- 5:16Speaker 1: can be anything that you want to set your mind to.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Another example is is if you want to create a
- 5:21Speaker 1: routine for your morning and night routine and you are
- 5:25Speaker 1: more productive maybe in the morning versus night. Then make
- 5:28Speaker 1: your mornings more busy, like do your movement in the
- 5:30Speaker 1: morning to your workouts, and then maybe for your night
- 5:33Speaker 1: routine you make it more of a relaxing routine, you know,
- 5:35Speaker 1: you unwind, you read a book, all that. So maybe
- 5:38Speaker 1: you can split it up into two like I do,
- 5:40Speaker 1: which is in the morning I like to have, you know,
- 5:43Speaker 1: my most productive self in the morning where I'm journaling,
- 5:46Speaker 1: I'm getting my workout in, I'm getting my walk in
- 5:48Speaker 1: all that, and then at night I usually like to unwind,
- 5:52Speaker 1: you know, chill, take a bath, take a shower, do
- 5:54Speaker 1: my skin care, all that. So that's kind of how
- 5:56Speaker 1: I like to do things. But there might be someone
- 5:58Speaker 1: out there that is the opposite, or they like to
- 6:00Speaker 1: have a productive night routine where they like to get
- 6:02Speaker 1: their workout done in the evening, you know, take a
- 6:04Speaker 1: hot shower, make dinner, you know, do some journaling, and
- 6:07Speaker 1: head to bed, whereas in their morning they would prefer
- 6:10Speaker 1: to read, have a slow morning, turn on their fireplace,
- 6:14Speaker 1: just kind of take their time to wake up, make
- 6:15Speaker 1: a coffee, and then start their workday. So it really
- 6:18Speaker 1: just depends on what works best for you. I think
- 6:21Speaker 1: it's all about figuring out a schedule and a routine
- 6:24Speaker 1: for yourself that best fits within your day to day schedule.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Another thing that I think you need to identify when
- 6:29Speaker 1: it comes to building a routine for yourself is what
- 6:32Speaker 1: are the current habits that you currently do. Do you
- 6:35Speaker 1: like to wake up later in the day or do
- 6:37Speaker 1: you like to wake up early? Do you like to
- 6:38Speaker 1: go to bed late or do you like to go
- 6:40Speaker 1: to bed early? Is there things that you want to
- 6:43Speaker 1: change about that, Like do you want to become an
- 6:44Speaker 1: early riser? So maybe you need to start going to
- 6:47Speaker 1: bed earlier in order to achieve an early morning routine.
- 6:52Speaker 1: So all about just kind of figuring out how you
- 6:54Speaker 1: want to, you know, set your intention for your routine
- 6:58Speaker 1: for the fall, and so order to do that, you
- 7:00Speaker 1: need to kind of identify what is going to be
- 7:02Speaker 1: your motive. Is it going to be I'm going to
- 7:04Speaker 1: be an early riser this fall? I want to be
- 7:06Speaker 1: able to wake up at six am every single morning,
- 7:08Speaker 1: have a bit of a slower morning, be able to
- 7:10Speaker 1: get a workout done by nine am. That way I
- 7:12Speaker 1: can start my work day throughout the day. Or is
- 7:15Speaker 1: it going to be you know, I really want to
- 7:16Speaker 1: get evening workouts done every single day at five pm
- 7:21Speaker 1: and be able to cook dinner and have my shower
- 7:23Speaker 1: done before seven or eight pm, and be able to
- 7:25Speaker 1: unwind and chill and watch Netflix for the rest of
- 7:27Speaker 1: the night. Like it just kind of depends on how
- 7:29Speaker 1: you want to set your intention for the days and
- 7:33Speaker 1: your routine, and just like things that are maybe your
- 7:36Speaker 1: non negotiables, Like you have some non negotiables that you
- 7:38Speaker 1: want to get done in the morning and you want
- 7:41Speaker 1: to get done at night, and you kind of just
- 7:42Speaker 1: have to structure it of everything that you want to
- 7:45Speaker 1: get done. That way you can have everything done throughout
- 7:48Speaker 1: the day and you don't have to stress knowing that
- 7:50Speaker 1: you did all your non negotiables in the morning and
- 7:53Speaker 1: at night. Another tip for when you're trying to establish
- 7:56Speaker 1: your routine is adjusting your old habits into a new season.
- 7:59Speaker 1: So for me, for an example, as I said, I
- 8:02Speaker 1: usually love to do an early morning walk, but because
- 8:05Speaker 1: the sun has been rising later versus in the summer,
- 8:08Speaker 1: I've been trying to adapt by changing up my routine
- 8:11Speaker 1: in the mornings. So something that I've been doing is
- 8:13Speaker 1: kind of having a slower morning. So I've decided to
- 8:16Speaker 1: take twenty minutes of my morning reading by my fireplace,
- 8:20Speaker 1: which has been honestly really nice. It's been a nice
- 8:23Speaker 1: way just to kind of start the morning off slow
- 8:25Speaker 1: and waking up early, just to kind of, like, I
- 8:28Speaker 1: don't know, obviously, wake myself up. But it's been something
- 8:30Speaker 1: is very different for me, because I feel like I'm
- 8:32Speaker 1: not that type of person to start off slow. I
- 8:34Speaker 1: feel like usually I'm like wanting to jump into the
- 8:36Speaker 1: swing of things. But I feel like it has been
- 8:39Speaker 1: a really nice start to the day of just reading
- 8:41Speaker 1: for twenty minutes on my couch with the fireplace on
- 8:45Speaker 1: before the sun comes up. And then as soon as
- 8:46Speaker 1: I see the sun starting to come up, I'll go upstairs.
- 8:49Speaker 1: I'll change into my workout clothes, and usually I'll go
- 8:51Speaker 1: on a walk with Reddy for about thirty minutes before
- 8:54Speaker 1: I head to my workout class. So that's what I've
- 8:57Speaker 1: been trying to stick to for the fall season. I have.
- 9:00Speaker 1: I've been loving the book I've been reading currently. I'm
- 9:02Speaker 1: reading the book Reminders of Him, and I think I'm
- 9:06Speaker 1: on I want to say, like chapter fourteen. I started
- 9:10Speaker 1: to read it while I was in Italy. I finished
- 9:12Speaker 1: one book. I started reading the book The Boyfriend by Frida.
- 9:17Speaker 1: I think it's McFadden. I want to say she's the
- 9:19Speaker 1: same writer of The Housemaid, which I read in March
- 9:23Speaker 1: during my Mexico trip. So I think I've read a
- 9:26Speaker 1: total of four books this year, which, if you guys remember,
- 9:28Speaker 1: I talked about wanting to read at least six to
- 9:31Speaker 1: twelve books. So I'm really happy about almost getting to
- 9:34Speaker 1: six books. So I'm on my fifth book right now,
- 9:37Speaker 1: reading The Reminders of Him, and I've been loving it
- 9:40Speaker 1: so far. So I've been spending twenty minutes in the
- 9:42Speaker 1: morning reading my book before I start my workout in
- 9:45Speaker 1: my walk and as I said, it's just been like
- 9:47Speaker 1: a nice thing to first off add something new into
- 9:50Speaker 1: my morning routine, but also being able to adjust my
- 9:53Speaker 1: old habits, which is walking in a workout by adjusting
- 9:57Speaker 1: it in my routine. For the fall season, I will
- 10:00Speaker 1: also have to probably adjust my walking schedule with using
- 10:04Speaker 1: my walking pad, because as it gets colder and colder,
- 10:07Speaker 1: I do think the walks are going to become a
- 10:09Speaker 1: little unenjoyable for me as it gets to get really
- 10:12Speaker 1: really cold. So it might also be just like walking
- 10:15Speaker 1: later in the day, so maybe doing an afternoon walk
- 10:17Speaker 1: versus a morning walk, and as I said, using my
- 10:20Speaker 1: walking pad, maybe instead of walking outside if I want
- 10:23Speaker 1: to get some movement in before my workout class in
- 10:26Speaker 1: the morning. An example for someone who might be wanting
- 10:28Speaker 1: to adjust their habits into a new season, that might
- 10:31Speaker 1: be a mom. So for example, if you're a mom
- 10:33Speaker 1: that has kids going to school, and you know you
- 10:36Speaker 1: don't have the time to obviously do things for yourself
- 10:39Speaker 1: before your kids go to school, because obviously you want
- 10:41Speaker 1: to help prep your kids lunches and breakfast along with
- 10:45Speaker 1: getting them dressed, getting their backpacks all packed up for
- 10:48Speaker 1: the school day. So obviously you're dedicating a lot of
- 10:50Speaker 1: time for your kids being ready for school. So maybe
- 10:52Speaker 1: it's adjusting your morning routine with either waking up an
- 10:55Speaker 1: hour earlier than you typically would to get the things
- 10:57Speaker 1: done that you want to do, or maybe it's adjusting
- 11:00Speaker 1: your routine completely to a afternoon kind of like a
- 11:04Speaker 1: noon schedule. You know, maybe on your lunch break for work,
- 11:07Speaker 1: or an evening routine before your kids are done school,
- 11:10Speaker 1: or when your kids are done school and they're done
- 11:12Speaker 1: dinner and you can do kind of like a late night,
- 11:15Speaker 1: you know routine of just kind of undwinding and maybe
- 11:18Speaker 1: taking twenty minutes to yourself to get a bit of
- 11:20Speaker 1: movement in as well. Another idea for moms is you
- 11:23Speaker 1: could prep some stuff at night for your kids. That
- 11:26Speaker 1: way you could dedicate more time in the morning for yourself.
- 11:28Speaker 1: So maybe it's prepping your kids, you know, lunch boxes
- 11:31Speaker 1: and backpacks at night before you head to bed. That
- 11:33Speaker 1: would when you wake up. The only thing you have
- 11:35Speaker 1: to do is just obviously make your kids breakfasts and
- 11:38Speaker 1: get them dressed for school, because obviously I know that
- 11:40Speaker 1: the school season has started for a lot of young
- 11:43Speaker 1: kids along with girls that who are starting university or
- 11:47Speaker 1: anything like that, so I know adjusting your routine can
- 11:49Speaker 1: be a lot, especially when you know you've had the
- 11:51Speaker 1: summer off for the past few months. It's definitely difficult
- 11:54Speaker 1: for the first few weeks of September to establish a routine.
- 11:57Speaker 1: So please do not be so hard on yourself the
- 12:00Speaker 1: end of the day. It's something that we all are
- 12:02Speaker 1: gradually trying to establish with entering a new season, so
- 12:07Speaker 1: do not feel stressed. Everybody is in the same boat
- 12:10Speaker 1: of trying to rebuild a schedule, whether you're a mom,
- 12:12Speaker 1: a student who went back to university, or just someone
- 12:15Speaker 1: that is readjusting their routine for a new season. Everybody's
- 12:19Speaker 1: kind of going through a new routine right now. And yeah,
- 12:23Speaker 1: so I just kind of wanted to give the example
- 12:25Speaker 1: because I do know that I have a few moms
- 12:26Speaker 1: who listened to the podcast as well, so I wanted
- 12:28Speaker 1: to give that example if you're looking to adjust your routine.
- 12:32Speaker 1: So I think it's really all about just a slow
- 12:34Speaker 1: transition and starting small, so taking it day by day,
- 12:37Speaker 1: because as I said, like building a routine doesn't just
- 12:40Speaker 1: take a few days and you've mastered it, like to
- 12:43Speaker 1: be fully transparent, it usually takes a few weeks for
- 12:45Speaker 1: it to feel normal and to feel adjusted and to
- 12:48Speaker 1: feel like, you know, you've got your shit back into gear,
- 12:51Speaker 1: if that makes sense. I feel like everyone's probably feeling
- 12:54Speaker 1: just a little off right now, and that's okay. We're
- 12:57Speaker 1: all trying to add new goals into our routine and
- 13:00Speaker 1: and yeah, sometimes it's just new. Obviously going into a
- 13:03Speaker 1: new season, it feels good, but obviously it does feel
- 13:06Speaker 1: very fresh to the point where we're just making some
- 13:08Speaker 1: changes and trying to, you know, adjust to the new
- 13:12Speaker 1: routine that we're trying to build for ourselves. So do
- 13:14Speaker 1: not feel like everything's going to feel completely normal at once,
- 13:17Speaker 1: because it's not. It's just going to feel more gradual,
- 13:21Speaker 1: and we're just going to take it day by day
- 13:23Speaker 1: and we're just going to know mentally that everything is
- 13:26Speaker 1: going to all work out within a few weeks and
- 13:27Speaker 1: it's going to feel so good after adjusting into a
- 13:31Speaker 1: new routine. It's also good to note that it's important
- 13:34Speaker 1: to kind of like make note of things in your
- 13:37Speaker 1: routine that you might not like. So, you know, maybe
- 13:39Speaker 1: you've been doing what I've been doing, which is reading
- 13:42Speaker 1: in the morning for twenty minutes, but you don't really
- 13:44Speaker 1: like it because you might feel like it's too slow paced,
- 13:48Speaker 1: or you might feel a little rushed trying to rush
- 13:50Speaker 1: to a workout class right after reading, and it just
- 13:53Speaker 1: might feel, you know, just like not fitting well for
- 13:56Speaker 1: your routine and it just might not work for you.
- 13:58Speaker 1: That's fine. That's when we try I make some tweaks
- 14:01Speaker 1: or any modifications to the routine where you know, okay,
- 14:04Speaker 1: maybe it's reading twenty minutes before bed verse twenty minutes
- 14:07Speaker 1: when I wake up. I've tried reading twenty minutes before
- 14:10Speaker 1: bed does not work for me. So that's why I'm
- 14:12Speaker 1: trying the twenty minutes in the morning because it's kind
- 14:15Speaker 1: of like my only alone time. I would say, just
- 14:17Speaker 1: because obviously Za gets home from work and we like
- 14:19Speaker 1: to watch a TV show together in bed, so I
- 14:21Speaker 1: kind of like to have that is him and I time,
- 14:23Speaker 1: is our night routine. We do that together. It's, you know,
- 14:26Speaker 1: time that we get to cherish and spend time together.
- 14:29Speaker 1: So my mornings are really just like the time where
- 14:31Speaker 1: I'm alone and I get to kind of do my
- 14:33Speaker 1: favorite things that bring me, you know, excitement and joy.
- 14:37Speaker 1: So that's what I've been doing to adjust my routine.
- 14:40Speaker 1: But if that feels forced for you, or it just
- 14:43Speaker 1: feels like it's not working, then that's when you should
- 14:45Speaker 1: make some tweaks and adjustments into your routine to make
- 14:48Speaker 1: it work for you. So if you don't like workout
- 14:50Speaker 1: classes in the morning, maybe you'll prefer workout classes in
- 14:53Speaker 1: the evening, or maybe you prefer to do a workout
- 14:56Speaker 1: class at noon on your lunch break. Like, just kind
- 14:58Speaker 1: of figure out what works best for you, and again,
- 15:01Speaker 1: do not stress if it's not working out for you,
- 15:04Speaker 1: because everyone's gonna have a preference on anything in their routine,
- 15:08Speaker 1: and yeah, just know that you can make modifications. And
- 15:12Speaker 1: it's just good to reflect on this new routine that
- 15:16Speaker 1: you're trying to establish and just making sure that it
- 15:18Speaker 1: feels good and that you're liking it. Because when you
- 15:21Speaker 1: actually like your routine and things feel good, that's when
- 15:23Speaker 1: you're actually consistent with it, and you're going to see
- 15:25Speaker 1: your results and you're gonna feel good and you're gonna
- 15:28Speaker 1: have a you know, just a better mindset throughout your day.
- 15:30Speaker 1: You're gonna feel more productive all that. So just note
- 15:33Speaker 1: that it's important to make tweaks if needed. So those
- 15:36Speaker 1: are the five tips that I recommend when it comes
- 15:38Speaker 1: to building your ideal routine for the fall season. I'm
- 15:43Speaker 1: not going to share my ideal fall morning routine and
- 15:46Speaker 1: night routine. These are things that I plan on doing
- 15:50Speaker 1: for my fall routine this season and figured I would
- 15:53Speaker 1: just share for anyone that's looking for inspiration for creating
- 15:56Speaker 1: a morning routine or night routine for themselves. So personally,
- 15:59Speaker 1: for me, as I say said, I plan on waking
- 16:01Speaker 1: up early. These past few weeks, I've been waking up
- 16:04Speaker 1: between five thirty and six since i've been home from Italy,
- 16:06Speaker 1: I've been still trying to continue the early morning train
- 16:09Speaker 1: just because I personally love waking up early and I
- 16:11Speaker 1: feel like, again it's my only alone time where I
- 16:14Speaker 1: can kind of just do things that make me feel
- 16:17Speaker 1: good that I enjoy doing, which is getting some movement in,
- 16:20Speaker 1: you know, doing my journaling, reading all that. So something
- 16:24Speaker 1: that I've been doing that's been new, as I said,
- 16:26Speaker 1: was reading a book by my fireplace as soon as
- 16:28Speaker 1: I wake up. So wake up at five thirty, brush
- 16:31Speaker 1: my teeth, you know, put my hair in a ponytail.
- 16:33Speaker 1: I'll go downstairs. I will light a candle, turn on
- 16:37Speaker 1: my fireplace, and take twenty minutes. I will literally set
- 16:40Speaker 1: a twenty minute timer on my phone. Setting the timer
- 16:42Speaker 1: on the phone is probably the biggest game changer, just
- 16:44Speaker 1: because it allows me to stay on top of things,
- 16:46Speaker 1: and you know, sometimes I feel like I'll stay twenty minutes,
- 16:48Speaker 1: but it'll actually be twenty eight or twenty nine minutes,
- 16:51Speaker 1: and then that eight to nine minutes actually makes a
- 16:54Speaker 1: difference when I'm trying to rush to a workout class
- 16:57Speaker 1: or get a thirty minute walk in before the workout class.
- 17:00Speaker 1: So I'm very much a you know, by the time
- 17:02Speaker 1: kind of person. So I set a twenty minute time
- 17:05Speaker 1: around my phone, read for twenty minutes. As soon as
- 17:07Speaker 1: that timer goes off, you know, put my bookmarker on
- 17:10Speaker 1: my book, head upstairs, get change, and then I get
- 17:13Speaker 1: out for my morning walk with Freddy. Because by the
- 17:16Speaker 1: time I'm done reading, usually the sun is up. By
- 17:19Speaker 1: that point, it's still obviously more of a sunrise versus
- 17:22Speaker 1: you know, the full sun being out. But it's quite
- 17:25Speaker 1: enjoyable and it's kind of chilly right now, which is nice.
- 17:29Speaker 1: So walking outside with a bit of a chill, with
- 17:31Speaker 1: a cozy sweater on, and you know, just walking by
- 17:34Speaker 1: my pond that I typically do. I have a you know,
- 17:37Speaker 1: a route that I always do that I know is
- 17:39Speaker 1: like thirty five minutes to the tee every single time.
- 17:43Speaker 1: And sometimes I'll put eyepatches on. I'll put on a podcast. Lately,
- 17:47Speaker 1: I've been listening to a few podcasts. I really love
- 17:50Speaker 1: Jay Sheddy's podcast. Lately, I've been listening to a lot
- 17:52Speaker 1: of episodes there, and yeah, I don't know, I just
- 17:56Speaker 1: kind of like zone out, enjoy you know, my walk
- 17:59Speaker 1: for thirty five minutes, and then literally I'll come home,
- 18:02Speaker 1: drop Freddy off, jump in the car, head to my
- 18:05Speaker 1: workout class, do my hour workout class, whether it's going
- 18:09Speaker 1: to pilates, you know, a hot pilates class or spin
- 18:14Speaker 1: coat class. Been doing that NonStop. Been trying to get
- 18:18Speaker 1: into weightlifting. I do think I'm going to be booking
- 18:20Speaker 1: a weightlifting class next week with my girlfriend. She's done
- 18:23Speaker 1: it a few times, so I'd rather go with someone
- 18:25Speaker 1: that I know has been to the class a few times.
- 18:27Speaker 1: So I think we're going to do that together next week.
- 18:29Speaker 1: So I'm excited about trying something new and maybe something
- 18:33Speaker 1: that I'll add into my routine. But that's kind of
- 18:37Speaker 1: like how I've been starting off my mornings is you know,
- 18:40Speaker 1: reading by my fireplace, you know, walking outside with Freddy,
- 18:44Speaker 1: going to my workout. Then I'll come home, make a breakfast.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Right now, I've been trying to make some fall inspired breakfasts. So,
- 18:51Speaker 1: as I said, I am making the Greek yogurt bagels today,
- 18:55Speaker 1: which I'm very excited about. The pumpkin spice ones. But
- 18:58Speaker 1: I also love the pumpkin pancakes. Oh my goodness, guys,
- 19:01Speaker 1: I made these last year. These are insane. Their pumpkin
- 19:04Speaker 1: protein pancakes. I will try and put the recipe maybe
- 19:08Speaker 1: in the description if I can find it. If not,
- 19:10Speaker 1: go on TikTok search my name, search Killy Stewart pumpkin pancakes,
- 19:13Speaker 1: and they are so freaking good, guys, I'm obsessed with them,
- 19:17Speaker 1: so I'm definitely trying to bring those back into my
- 19:19Speaker 1: weekly rotation of breakfasts. I also just love putting like
- 19:23Speaker 1: almond butter on toasts, like on sour dough bread with banana,
- 19:26Speaker 1: putting a bit of pumpkin spice seasoning on top with
- 19:30Speaker 1: some honey as well. So just trying to make some
- 19:32Speaker 1: fall inspired breakfasts as well, and then obviously make my
- 19:37Speaker 1: coffee which has been the pumpkin spice seasoning with honey
- 19:41Speaker 1: and sea salt. Trying to figure out if I should
- 19:44Speaker 1: try out a pumpkin syrup. I've seen people make homemade
- 19:47Speaker 1: pumpkin syrups and putting it in their fridge and then
- 19:50Speaker 1: using that as their way of like making their coffee.
- 19:53Speaker 1: I've seen a few with like maple butter with pumpkin
- 19:57Speaker 1: seasoning like pumpkin pure and then pumpkin spice and then
- 20:01Speaker 1: the maple better and I don't know, it sounds incredible.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I haven't attempted to make it yet, but I'm trying
- 20:06Speaker 1: to make it all natural sugars versus buying like the
- 20:09Speaker 1: pumpkin syrup from you know, Winters or Home Sense or Amazon.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I try and avoid doing that just because I feel
- 20:15Speaker 1: like those get really sugary if you look at the
- 20:18Speaker 1: content of it, and I don't know, just not something
- 20:20Speaker 1: that I want to do, just because I like to
- 20:22Speaker 1: treat myself to a coffee once a week, and usually
- 20:24Speaker 1: I'll treat myself to either like a Stirbucks drink or
- 20:27Speaker 1: you know, a local coffee shop, I'll get, you know,
- 20:30Speaker 1: something with pumpkin or brown sugar in it. So for
- 20:32Speaker 1: my everyday coffee, I would rather not do that just
- 20:35Speaker 1: because I, you know, would rather just treat myself to
- 20:37Speaker 1: the ones that have those pumps of syrup and all
- 20:39Speaker 1: that when I buy a coffee first, when I make
- 20:42Speaker 1: it at home, I'd rather it be you know, natural
- 20:44Speaker 1: sugars and just you know, it's just better for you obviously.
- 20:47Speaker 1: So whatever I attempt to make, I will share obviously,
- 20:50Speaker 1: with this pumpkin syrup that I've been trying to find
- 20:53Speaker 1: the perfect recipe for, but I did see one with
- 20:56Speaker 1: maple butter. You can pick it up at farm Boy,
- 20:58Speaker 1: I believe, if you're in the Ontario area. But I'm
- 21:01Speaker 1: sure you can pick up maple butter wherever you are,
- 21:03Speaker 1: whether a Trader Joe's, you know, a Whole Foods, whatever,
- 21:07Speaker 1: it's a pretty common thing. You could probably honestly buy
- 21:09Speaker 1: it from Amazon as well. There's also something called vanilla
- 21:13Speaker 1: bean I believe it's a vanilla bean syrup, I want
- 21:15Speaker 1: to say, and or a vanilla bean paste. That's what
- 21:18Speaker 1: it is. That sounds incredible in a coffee as well.
- 21:21Speaker 1: So I'm gonna try and figure out a recipe and
- 21:23Speaker 1: I will share it with you guys once I've mastered it.
- 21:25Speaker 1: But right now I'm in the process of trying to
- 21:27Speaker 1: figure out the perfect pumpkin spice coffee. But that's kind
- 21:32Speaker 1: of like my ideal fall morning routine. By that point,
- 21:35Speaker 1: I have a shower, do my skincare, do my makeup,
- 21:37Speaker 1: and I start my work day and I get to
- 21:40Speaker 1: filming or recording the podcast or you know, recording a
- 21:43Speaker 1: YouTube video. You guys know that my job's kind of
- 21:45Speaker 1: all over the place when it comes to random things
- 21:48Speaker 1: that I have to get done throughout the day. But
- 21:50Speaker 1: that is what I've been doing for my fall morning routine.
- 21:54Speaker 1: As for my fall night routine, this is something that
- 21:56Speaker 1: I'm currently trying to master. I feel like this is
- 21:58Speaker 1: my first week back since Italy because last week we
- 22:01Speaker 1: had the wedding, so I haven't really mastered my night
- 22:04Speaker 1: routine yet, but trying to slowly figure out what I
- 22:07Speaker 1: want to make a priority. But right now, I would
- 22:10Speaker 1: say my ideal routine would be to obviously come home,
- 22:14Speaker 1: make dinner, maybe make a fall dinner like soups or
- 22:19Speaker 1: stews or something in the crock pot, you know, obviously
- 22:22Speaker 1: making something fall inspired. Then I'm kind of like unwinding
- 22:26Speaker 1: by cleaning up the kitchen, obviously putting everything in the
- 22:29Speaker 1: dishwash or cleaning up the kitchen, making sure the house
- 22:32Speaker 1: is completely clean. I like to usually fluff my couch,
- 22:34Speaker 1: fluff my pillows, blow out any candles that I've lit
- 22:37Speaker 1: for dinner, and then usually I will take a hot
- 22:41Speaker 1: shower at night as well, just to kind of, you know,
- 22:44Speaker 1: relax myself. If you're the kind of person that might
- 22:46Speaker 1: like hot baths, that would be the most ideal routine.
- 22:50Speaker 1: You can also read while you're in the bath, which
- 22:52Speaker 1: would be really nice, or if you're the kind of
- 22:54Speaker 1: person that likes to do a bit of self care
- 22:56Speaker 1: to unwind, like putting on a sheet mask, doing some
- 22:58Speaker 1: red light therapy, doing your iemass, whatever the case may be,
- 23:02Speaker 1: that's kind of like the best way to unwind and
- 23:05Speaker 1: relax after you know, cooking dinner and cleaning up the house.
- 23:10Speaker 1: And then again for me, it's kind of like my
- 23:12Speaker 1: time with Zach at night. So usually Zach and I
- 23:14Speaker 1: will like to watch a show together, and right now
- 23:17Speaker 1: we've been watching The Better Sister, which is actually about
- 23:21Speaker 1: her husband being murdered, which I do kind of think
- 23:24Speaker 1: falls into like spooky season. It's actually really good. It's
- 23:27Speaker 1: on Amazon Prime and it's called The Better Sister, And yeah,
- 23:31Speaker 1: as I said, it's just about her husband being murdered
- 23:33Speaker 1: and they're trying to figure out who did it. Right now,
- 23:35Speaker 1: her son is in custody, and anyways, I don't want
- 23:38Speaker 1: to give it away too much, but it's really good
- 23:41Speaker 1: and I feel like it's kind of nice for this
- 23:43Speaker 1: time of the year. I mentioned in a few episodes
- 23:46Speaker 1: ago that I want to get into a fall TV show.
- 23:49Speaker 1: I'm not sure if I want to watch Pretty Little
- 23:52Speaker 1: Liars or Gossip Girl, I'm wondering if I need to
- 23:56Speaker 1: try Gilmore Girls out and maybe like actually like push
- 24:00Speaker 1: through it, because a lot of people do say it's
- 24:02Speaker 1: really good, and there is a lot of good actors
- 24:05Speaker 1: in it as well, so I feel like I might
- 24:07Speaker 1: need to just give it a shot and just kind
- 24:09Speaker 1: of push through the first few episodes. I feel like
- 24:11Speaker 1: usually the first season of a show is never really
- 24:14Speaker 1: the greatest, but then by like season two and three,
- 24:16Speaker 1: it gets much much better, and I feel like I'm
- 24:18Speaker 1: always usually more into the show, So maybe I just
- 24:21Speaker 1: need to give it more of a shot. But I
- 24:23Speaker 1: do appreciate everyone that has messaged me there are recommendations
- 24:26Speaker 1: for a TV show. I had a few of you guys,
- 24:28Speaker 1: say Wednesday, and a few other shows as well that
- 24:31Speaker 1: I screenshotted, so hopefully I can start something. But yeah,
- 24:36Speaker 1: right now I'm watching The Better Sister, just because we
- 24:37Speaker 1: just started that like two days ago and we're enjoying it.
- 24:41Speaker 1: But definitely plan on, yeah, watching another TV show that
- 24:45Speaker 1: I just mentioned and hoping to get into it. So yeah,
- 24:48Speaker 1: so usually around that time, we'll watch a TV show together,
- 24:50Speaker 1: and usually I'll go downstairs and I'll make a peppermint tea,
- 24:53Speaker 1: just because I love to have peppermint tea at night.
- 24:56Speaker 1: I just find it's like the best way to unwind,
- 24:58Speaker 1: and it's also really good for your digit question. So
- 25:01Speaker 1: I usually make one for myself and one for Zach,
- 25:03Speaker 1: and then sometimes when I'm in bed while we're watching TV,
- 25:05Speaker 1: I'll usually plan out the following day. So I'll open
- 25:09Speaker 1: up the notes on my phone and I will literally
- 25:11Speaker 1: write out, Okay, today is Tuesday. These are things that
- 25:15Speaker 1: I have to get done, and I'll literally be like, okay,
- 25:17Speaker 1: record the podcast, you know, film an ad for this brand,
- 25:21Speaker 1: edit the ad, make myself some lunch. Okay, now I
- 25:24Speaker 1: got to go to Costco and do some groceries. Come back.
- 25:27Speaker 1: We're going to be making this for dinner today. You know,
- 25:29Speaker 1: just kind of like writing out everything that I need
- 25:31Speaker 1: to expect before the next day, so that way when
- 25:34Speaker 1: I wake up in the morning, I could look at
- 25:36Speaker 1: my notes, check everything off, do my journaling, also write
- 25:39Speaker 1: it out again, because I feel like sometimes when I
- 25:41Speaker 1: write out my schedule multiple times, it really gets in
- 25:45Speaker 1: my brain and then I remember that I have to
- 25:47Speaker 1: get all these things done. And yeah, sometimes I just
- 25:50Speaker 1: find like writing things down and also having it in
- 25:53Speaker 1: my notes. So yeah, so I always plan out my
- 25:55Speaker 1: day the night before, and that's honestly it, like I
- 25:58Speaker 1: literally just watch TV, plan my night, probably go on
- 26:02Speaker 1: my phone scrolling, maybe do some online shopping. Right now,
- 26:05Speaker 1: I've obviously been doing some fall shopping. I actually just
- 26:09Speaker 1: place an order from Zara, so I'm excited about that.
- 26:12Speaker 1: I also ordered a few things from Amazon and what else,
- 26:18Speaker 1: I don't know, just kind of like a few random spots.
- 26:21Speaker 1: I am actually heading to Toronto next weekend, super random,
- 26:24Speaker 1: just for work. But I do want to do a
- 26:26Speaker 1: bit of like fall fashion shopping while I'm down there.
- 26:28Speaker 1: I feel like they have a few better stores in
- 26:31Speaker 1: Toronto versus here that we just don't have here in Ottawa.
- 26:34Speaker 1: So I do want to do a bit of fall
- 26:36Speaker 1: shopping while I'm down there. So yeah, so that's basically
- 26:39Speaker 1: my ideal night routine. This is something that I think
- 26:41Speaker 1: is really easy for me to attain. But of course
- 26:45Speaker 1: everyone has a different routine for themselves. But I just
- 26:48Speaker 1: wanted to give you guys some inspiration for anyone that's
- 26:50Speaker 1: looking to build a night routine for themselves or a
- 26:53Speaker 1: morning routine. But I try and keep it pretty simple.
- 26:55Speaker 1: I don't try to like make it too complicated, because
- 26:58Speaker 1: I think at the end of the day, like if
- 27:00Speaker 1: things get complicated, it's not going to be something that
- 27:02Speaker 1: you're going to consistently do and you're not going to
- 27:05Speaker 1: feel good if you're doing something different every single night.
- 27:07Speaker 1: So it's all about just kind of creating the perfect
- 27:10Speaker 1: routine for yourself, whether it's a productive one or an
- 27:14Speaker 1: unwinding one. Just doing things for yourself, I think is
- 27:17Speaker 1: so important. You're showing up for yourself, You're doing these
- 27:19Speaker 1: little things that make you feel good, and doing these
- 27:22Speaker 1: little things for yourself actually really does add up. Like
- 27:26Speaker 1: me being in Italy for ten days, it was incredible
- 27:29Speaker 1: and I loved it, but I think by like day nine,
- 27:32Speaker 1: I was really itching to get back home and get
- 27:34Speaker 1: back into routine, you know, eating a home cooked meal.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Like you don't really appreciate those things when you're doing
- 27:40Speaker 1: it for so long until you actually leave and then
- 27:43Speaker 1: you realize how much you actually miss doing those little
- 27:46Speaker 1: things that make you feel so good. So truly, do
- 27:49Speaker 1: appreciate those small things and your ideal routine, because it
- 27:52Speaker 1: really does make a difference when you're not doing it
- 27:54Speaker 1: for a period of time and you truly do thrive
- 27:57Speaker 1: and feel your best when you are in a good,
- 27:59Speaker 1: consist stant routine in my opinion, So anyways, just wanted
- 28:03Speaker 1: to share that with you guys. I hope you guys
- 28:05Speaker 1: enjoyed today's episode. It's kind of short and sweet, but
- 28:08Speaker 1: I just really wanted to talk about, you know, building
- 28:10Speaker 1: an ideal follow routine for yourself when it comes to
- 28:13Speaker 1: your morning and night routine, and just tips overall of
- 28:16Speaker 1: how you can build a routine for yourself for a
- 28:18Speaker 1: new season. But I love you guys allso much. Thank
- 28:21Speaker 1: you guys for listening to another episode. If you guys
- 28:23Speaker 1: are new, definitely make sure to follow at the Hawkrow
- 28:25Speaker 1: Energy Instagram page. You can also follow me the host, Kaylee.
- 28:29Speaker 1: I'm on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. But I love you
- 28:32Speaker 1: guys also much. Thank you guys for listening to another
- 28:35Speaker 1: episode and I will see you guys in next week's
- 28:37Speaker 1: episode
