- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you, always.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome back to another episode of Star Wars Alliance.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Of course, I am your host, Clay. And with me, like,
- 0:27Speaker 2: every single week is, of course, Katie. Katie, how you doing?
- 0:34Speaker 2: I know that's kind of a rhetorical question right now
- 0:36Speaker 2: because of how crazy both of our days have been. But, yeah,
- 0:41Speaker 2: we're here.
- 0:42Speaker 3: I'm under the weather. That's about it. Yeah.
- 0:45Speaker 2: We're here, of course. We were Star Wars on Wednesdays.
- 0:51Speaker 2: I love it. I love it.
- 0:52Speaker 1: And.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Guys, we hardly have anything as far as news. There
- 1:00Speaker 2: was one news topic that I brought up to Katie
- 1:03Speaker 2: in the past week. That's kind of like a head scratcher,
- 1:07Speaker 2: like what in the world type of thing. And then
- 1:11Speaker 2: there's a quote from Dave Filoni that I wanted to
- 1:14Speaker 2: bring up. And then after that, we are on to
- 1:18Speaker 2: our main topic tonight, which is... The High Republic Young
- 1:25Speaker 2: Adult Analysis and Ranking. This is, of course, a bit
- 1:32Speaker 2: of a retrospective. We wanted an excuse to go back
- 1:36Speaker 2: and read The High Republic. And we have found that
- 1:40Speaker 2: excuse with being able to grab the individual reading levels
- 1:49Speaker 2: of each of The High Republic. phases and well not
- 1:54Speaker 2: each phase but each of the reading levels including the
- 1:57Speaker 2: phases and seeing if there is a coherent story seeing
- 2:04Speaker 2: if uh it breaks down once you you know need
- 2:09Speaker 2: to read something outside of uh each uh retrospective uh
- 2:15Speaker 2: reading level but uh that's what we're gonna overall do
- 2:19Speaker 2: so With that, let's go ahead and jump into our
- 2:23Speaker 2: first topic. The very first one I sent you, Katie,
- 2:26Speaker 2: was this news about Filoni. Well, first, before we do that,
- 2:35Speaker 2: we do have also New York Comic Con.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:42Speaker 2: We do have a panel for Lucasfilm Publishing, which will
- 2:48Speaker 2: be October 9th. between 11 a.m. and 11.45 a.m. So
- 2:56Speaker 2: a little update there. So we can expect some news
- 3:00Speaker 2: when it comes to Lucasfilm Publishing. That's a small little
- 3:03Speaker 2: tidbit there. But this is something that I wanted to
- 3:07Speaker 2: bring up more so because there was a couple people
- 3:13Speaker 2: that said, oh, this is Dave Filoni's answer for his
- 3:18Speaker 2: strategy for the future of the franchise of Star Wars.
- 3:22Speaker 2: And that really irks me because of his answer. It's
- 3:27Speaker 2: not a strategy. I told you it's a blanket statement.
- 3:32Speaker 2: And this is his exact wording. We have several different
- 3:37Speaker 2: generations of Star Wars fans, right? There's original trilogy fans,
- 3:42Speaker 2: prequel fans, sequel fans, Clone Wars fans, expanded universe fans.
- 3:45Speaker 2: They all have different interests. And I always look at
- 3:49Speaker 2: how we're going to serve all these different interests and
- 3:54Speaker 2: most importantly how do we bring them all together because
- 3:58Speaker 2: they have this common love of Star Wars that's not
- 4:02Speaker 2: a strategy there is no strategy in that whatsoever there's
- 4:07Speaker 2: nothing that tells me how they're going to do it
- 4:11Speaker 2: that's what a strategy is This, and I don't know
- 4:17Speaker 2: if you want to say your response to me sending
- 4:21Speaker 2: you that quote off the top of your dome.
- 4:27Speaker 3: No.
- 4:30Speaker 2: But, like, I'm going to go ahead and say a
- 4:34Speaker 2: version of it for myself. Maybe, just maybe... Filoni as
- 4:46Speaker 2: the president of, or co-president of Lucasfilm doesn't need to
- 4:55Speaker 2: be in front of a camera anymore.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I think that we need to get, oh my gosh,
- 5:05Speaker 2: I forgot her name. I forgot her name.
- 5:08Speaker 3: Brennan?
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yes, Brennan. We need Brennan to have a little bit
- 5:12Speaker 2: of media training. And have her take the lead.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Lin-Wen Brennan.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I got that right at least. Lin-Wen Brennan. She needs some,
- 5:25Speaker 2: she needs just a little bit of media training and
- 5:29Speaker 2: to take over as far as the face. Because my God,
- 5:35Speaker 2: what a non-answer that was for, hey, what is your
- 5:41Speaker 2: strategy for this? I can only imagine like the actual
- 5:46Speaker 2: people asking that question and then him giving them that
- 5:50Speaker 2: answer and then walking away. Like he didn't even answer
- 5:55Speaker 2: my question. That was just, I would have thought, oh,
- 5:58Speaker 2: so that's the beginning of your answer. What's your actual answer?
- 6:03Speaker 3: And that's not even like a start to an answer.
- 6:09Speaker 3: That's not even like a media train, I'm not giving
- 6:12Speaker 3: you an answer, but I'm giving you an answer kind
- 6:14Speaker 3: of thing. That's not an answer to the question that
- 6:17Speaker 3: she asked. Point blank. Your strategy should have been, okay,
- 6:24Speaker 3: maybe we want to hit all sides of it or whatnot,
- 6:27Speaker 3: like something.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Yeah, like even if you were to say like, hey,
- 6:33Speaker 4: we are planning on.
- 6:39Speaker 2: We're planning on making everybody happy. That would be like
- 6:44Speaker 2: a tease of an answer. Like, oh, what do you
- 6:46Speaker 2: have for Legends? Like, oh, you have more stuff for
- 6:49Speaker 2: Clone Wars? It would then get people talking. This, it's like, okay,
- 6:57Speaker 2: you just pointed us all out. Cool. Now what?
- 7:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:01Speaker 2: You know? It's pathetic. Yeah. It's rough. So... The next
- 7:09Speaker 2: piece of news that I have is this most random one,
- 7:17Speaker 2: which is Mall Shadow Lord is the most streamed animated
- 7:25Speaker 2: series on Disney Plus in 2026.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Now, when you first said this to me, I was like, wow,
- 7:34Speaker 3: that's wild. When I go to look at it again,
- 7:37Speaker 3: I don't know what other high-profile animated series that they've
- 7:42Speaker 3: had this year. Because what if came out at the
- 7:46Speaker 3: end of last year?
- 7:47Speaker 2: You have X-Men 97, Season 2.
- 7:50Speaker 3: X-Men 97, yeah.
- 7:53Speaker 2: You have X-Men 97, you have... That was the other
- 7:58Speaker 2: one I was thinking about. Um, actually... But, like... Live-streamed
- 8:04Speaker 2: animated series... Now, you also have the idea of, like,
- 8:09Speaker 2: other outside... Other IPs.
- 8:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Like, because I still think there's a huge popularity of, like,
- 8:20Speaker 2: shows that were on.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Shows that were on Disney Channel at one point and
- 8:28Speaker 2: then moved on to streaming once they became, like, hard-focused
- 8:31Speaker 2: on streaming. Those still have a huge fan base.
- 8:33Speaker 3: Well, but I think this is, like, This said like
- 8:36Speaker 3: new animated series, I thought. On the topic of Darth Maul,
- 8:42Speaker 3: Angie23J2P is in the chat and said, do you both
- 8:46Speaker 3: think that the Pink Twilight Devon will become Darth Talon
- 8:49Speaker 3: in Maul Shadow Lord? We've talked about this previously. I
- 8:54Speaker 3: don't think so. Just because of the way they're going
- 8:59Speaker 3: about her origin story. and when they tended to reuse
- 9:03Speaker 3: characters from Legends, they try to make it make sense
- 9:06Speaker 3: within the timeline. And Darth Talon is Legacy Era, and
- 9:12Speaker 3: not in the midst of the Skywalker saga. I think
- 9:15Speaker 3: it would be interesting if they chose to change her
- 9:18Speaker 3: story around, but that's what they've tried to do, so
- 9:22Speaker 3: I don't think they're going to do that.
- 9:24Speaker 2: But that's your question. And one thing that I think...
- 9:29Speaker 2: we've may have spoken about this, um, not in like
- 9:34Speaker 2: a huge discussion, but I had asked like somewhat of
- 9:40Speaker 2: a similar question of asking like, Hey, has there been
- 9:44Speaker 2: any proof as of right now of a legacy character
- 9:50Speaker 2: in legends turned into Canon with another name?
- 9:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:57Speaker 2: And there hasn't been a whole lot of that. So
- 10:04Speaker 2: I don't even think she will become like a Sith
- 10:12Speaker 2: of any type with a different name that resembles Dark Talon,
- 10:17Speaker 2: you know? We We've had our discussion about how there
- 10:25Speaker 2: could be them kind of toting the line in season
- 10:30Speaker 2: two and kind of what that might look like. But
- 10:35Speaker 2: it'll be interesting to see. It'll be interesting to see.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Oh, but I think the... animated series part, I think
- 10:51Speaker 3: it was new to 2026. So X-Men 97 and Darth
- 10:57Speaker 3: Maul would be like the top ones that I can
- 10:59Speaker 3: think of that are on Disney Plus at this point.
- 11:03Speaker 3: The other thing I would say is like, because of
- 11:07Speaker 3: just the way that Marvel is choosing to go about
- 11:11Speaker 3: doing the multiverse kind of situation, that X-Men 97 has
- 11:15Speaker 3: been May have fallen off of some people's radar. Like
- 11:21Speaker 3: I'm watching X-Men 97. But Matt is not watching X-Men 97.
- 11:25Speaker 3: For instance. Because he's like well I don't know anything
- 11:28Speaker 3: about these characters. It doesn't say it's connected. It says
- 11:33Speaker 3: it's a sequel to this series. So ultimately. Do I care?
- 11:38Speaker 3: About these characters. And like there's so much out there
- 11:41Speaker 3: to watch right now. And when X-Men 97 was coming out.
- 11:44Speaker 3: It kind of makes sense. But. And not to say
- 11:48Speaker 3: that X-Men 97 hasn't been good. I actually have really
- 11:51Speaker 3: enjoyed X-Men 97 compared to Darth Maul.
- 11:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:55Speaker 3: But you just have two different perspectives. Whereas some people
- 11:58Speaker 3: are like, ooh, Darth Maul. And like, ooh, these characters
- 12:01Speaker 3: don't exist. Like, in the main MCU. So I don't care.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm trying to even see if there has been
- 12:08Speaker 2: any larger, like... animated shows outside of the Marvel and
- 12:21Speaker 2: Star Wars IP. And Amberlynn watches a lot of Disney +.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:30Speaker 2: And the only thing I can really think of that
- 12:37Speaker 2: has popped up on Disney +, recently is this newer
- 12:42Speaker 2: show called dragon strikers um a lot of these different
- 12:46Speaker 2: shows that are like original for disney they usually don't
- 12:52Speaker 2: really start to pick up traction until the entire season
- 12:56Speaker 2: or series has yeah um you.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Know you say dragon strikers this is totally random by
- 13:03Speaker 3: the way um but it's related to animated series um
- 13:08Speaker 3: you know what series i wish that it disney would
- 13:10Speaker 3: choose to reboot and do it right with an animated
- 13:12Speaker 3: series american dragon jing fong.
- 13:16Speaker 2: It's been on a lot of people's lists actually i
- 13:19Speaker 2: knew exactly where you were going with that um i've
- 13:22Speaker 2: seen because there's like a there's a long list of
- 13:25Speaker 2: shows that have yet to even pop up on disney
- 13:29Speaker 2: plus yeah and uh along with that the conversation of
- 13:35Speaker 2: like hey is there any chance these shows can get
- 13:39Speaker 2: a reboot or like find a way back onto Disney's
- 13:44Speaker 2: radar to be a Disney plus show?
- 13:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:47Speaker 2: And especially has been one that a lot of people have.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Suggested, especially because you look at it with like the
- 13:53Speaker 3: dragon romantic era that we're in. Like you could make
- 13:58Speaker 3: that an adult animated show and probably get a lot
- 14:02Speaker 3: of people.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Well, like, there's that. Like, I'm surprised that there has
- 14:06Speaker 2: not been an attempt at another impossible animated series, honestly.
- 14:13Speaker 2: There has also been... Excuse my daughter in the background, people.
- 14:18Speaker 2: There has also been, like, people talking about... Just because
- 14:21Speaker 2: of how Toy Story 5 has recently, like, made a
- 14:24Speaker 2: lot of news. Buzz Lightyear used to have an animated series.
- 14:29Speaker 2: It has not made... Disney Plus at all. Not even
- 14:36Speaker 2: a single season of that show. So there's been a
- 14:39Speaker 2: lot of stuff that has been on people's radar for like, hey,
- 14:42Speaker 2: Disney Plus, you have a huge audience that probably wants
- 14:47Speaker 2: to see these things or even a renewal of these things.
- 14:52Speaker 2: So yeah, I think Jake Long could definitely make the
- 14:55Speaker 2: cut for it. But yeah, the other animated series that
- 14:59Speaker 2: just recently came around uh was uh and this is
- 15:04Speaker 2: gonna sound silly but just because amber lynn watches it
- 15:07Speaker 2: too uh there is a sequel series to sophia the
- 15:11Speaker 2: first oh yeah and like that is being simulcast randomly
- 15:20Speaker 2: like it's it's it's being aired on disney junior and
- 15:25Speaker 2: also airing on disney plus.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Interesting And, yeah, like, I'm very, like, confused as to, like,
- 15:37Speaker 4: what Disney is really trying to do when it comes to, like,
- 15:42Speaker 4: stuff that is outside.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Of their normal, like, really big money makers, that being
- 15:48Speaker 2: Star Wars and Marvel. So, like... Just when we saw
- 15:57Speaker 2: that Maul randomly... was like oh this is the most
- 16:01Speaker 2: streamed animated show i'm like okay but like was there
- 16:08Speaker 2: nothing else like and and that's not like we've we've
- 16:12Speaker 2: already harped on the show as much as we possibly
- 16:15Speaker 2: can like we don't want to beat it into the
- 16:16Speaker 2: ground but our thing was okay it was over and
- 16:21Speaker 2: done with people very quickly moved on how is it
- 16:25Speaker 2: that this isn't still talked about if it's the most
- 16:28Speaker 2: streamed Like, it's not popular. I'm on the side of
- 16:34Speaker 2: Star Wars Twitter, on Star Wars threads, on Star Wars Instagram,
- 16:39Speaker 2: and people aren't still talking about it. But it's the
- 16:42Speaker 2: most streamed ever? Now, maybe that's a sign of people
- 16:46Speaker 2: getting really freaking tired of social media. But, I don't know.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Getting tired of social media is a good point, because
- 16:55Speaker 3: I know Twitter was a lot of people's go-to for
- 17:01Speaker 3: TV discussions and everything and with Musk buying it like
- 17:06Speaker 3: it dropped off ginormously so who knows um will be
- 17:13Speaker 3: interesting to see next year when we go into with
- 17:17Speaker 3: like Vision season 4 how the 9th Jedi ended up
- 17:21Speaker 3: on that list potentially um Vision season 4 and Maul
- 17:26Speaker 3: season 2 if it like Hold steam. Who knows.
- 17:31Speaker 2: And that's the other thing. I want to. I haven't even.
- 17:35Speaker 2: I need to write it down. To see if I
- 17:38Speaker 2: can find any numbers. On the ninth Jedi. And see
- 17:44Speaker 2: how many. Like how many. What is it? It's usually
- 17:46Speaker 2: how many minutes.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Of each show or whatever. So. Maybe that's something. Excuse me.
- 17:55Speaker 2: That we can look into. For next week. Randomly got
- 17:59Speaker 2: the hiccups all of a sudden. But other than that,
- 18:03Speaker 2: is there anything else that you have seen for news
- 18:07Speaker 2: this week?
- 18:09Speaker 3: I don't think so. Life has been chaotic this week.
- 18:12Speaker 3: So I apologize, guys. Typically I'm more on top of it.
- 18:15Speaker 3: But it's pure chaos this week.
- 18:19Speaker 2: No, that is totally understandable. So that would mean we
- 18:22Speaker 2: can jump right into... Our main topic of the evening, which,
- 18:30Speaker 2: of course, is the young adult novels of the High Republic.
- 18:35Speaker 2: That being, I have an entire list right here.
- 18:41Speaker 3: We have Path to Deceit, Path of Vengeance, Into the Dark. Oh, crap,
- 18:48Speaker 3: I've got this. Hang on. Out of the Shadows.
- 18:51Speaker 2: There we go.
- 18:52Speaker 3: And then the third one. I'm going to have to
- 18:56Speaker 3: cheat and look, except I'm not wearing my glasses. Midnight Horizons.
- 19:00Speaker 2: There we go.
- 19:02Speaker 3: Defy the storm, tears of the nameless, into the light.
- 19:05Speaker 2: And into the light. On the money. I was actually
- 19:10Speaker 2: going to go in chronological order. I did go chronological order.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you did, you did, you did. No, the
- 19:21Speaker 2: wiki even has it wrong. Hold on. Oh, this is
- 19:25Speaker 2: trending pages and it has it in order of trending.
- 19:28Speaker 2: That's weird.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Weird. Okay, so how do you want to go about this? Well,
- 19:35Speaker 2: for one, Katie, I want to ask, with all eight books,
- 19:45Speaker 2: a part of our analysis was, hey, is this... a
- 19:50Speaker 2: coherent story from beginning to end? So I want to
- 19:58Speaker 2: ask you that question. Was this a coherent story from
- 20:03Speaker 2: beginning to end?
- 20:05Speaker 3: So I'm actually going to take your question and I'm
- 20:07Speaker 3: going to bend it. I think Phase 2 nailed the
- 20:11Speaker 3: cohesiveness the best.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Right on the money for me too. Yep.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Like, they only had two books to deal with. So
- 20:23Speaker 3: that lends itself to its favor. First of all. But
- 20:28Speaker 3: Cabin Scott gives you the necessary details at the beginning
- 20:32Speaker 3: of Path of Vengeance that really kind of help you
- 20:35Speaker 3: figure out what all has transpired. Because The Battle of
- 20:40Speaker 3: Jedha and the comics really serve as the middle point
- 20:46Speaker 3: of Phase 2. And so he has to summarize all
- 20:49Speaker 3: of that information for you guys. So really, the first
- 20:52Speaker 3: 10 chapters of Path of Vengeance is the comics. Basically,
- 20:57Speaker 3: I felt like. So that's a detriment, but also it
- 21:02Speaker 3: lends itself to the cohesiveness factor. Phase 3... probably handles
- 21:10Speaker 3: it second best mainly because of two and three tears
- 21:17Speaker 3: of the nameless and into the light um with a
- 21:20Speaker 3: little bit of defy the storm because they're able to
- 21:24Speaker 3: carry wreath over but defy the storm is really vernestra's
- 21:27Speaker 3: story and then tears the nameless and into the light
- 21:30Speaker 3: are wreath's story and amadeus's story and that's what kind
- 21:35Speaker 3: of gives it second best, in my opinion, because Phase 1,
- 21:41Speaker 3: out of the shadows, always throws me off with Phase 1.
- 21:46Speaker 2: It's like, where I get it... It is the story
- 21:50Speaker 2: that genuinely feels like we took an enormous left turn.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Yeah, and Komak and Wreath are still there, but... but
- 22:02Speaker 3: it doesn't matter because they come in like towards the
- 22:04Speaker 3: very end. And you can tell because Justina Ireland writing it,
- 22:07Speaker 3: that wrote Nestor was the main character and that's completely fine.
- 22:12Speaker 3: But again, we're approaching these discussion points from, is it
- 22:17Speaker 3: a cohesive story all the way across? Because we're supposed
- 22:19Speaker 3: to be able to read phase one, phase two, phase three,
- 22:23Speaker 3: and it all makes sense in the grand scheme of things. Yeah.
- 22:27Speaker 3: But when you're looking at it, There's key information in
- 22:31Speaker 3: phase one that's just missing. And I think they learned
- 22:34Speaker 3: their lesson for phase two and tried to carry it
- 22:38Speaker 3: over for phase three. But because you have three waves
- 22:41Speaker 3: of the phase in phase three, it got a little
- 22:44Speaker 3: more convoluted. But I do think that they really nailed
- 22:47Speaker 3: it with Tears of the Nameless and End of the Life.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Now, I was going to say one thing that I
- 22:53Speaker 2: do feel like We kind of should have some points
- 22:58Speaker 2: taken away from us is we forgot to mention Tales
- 23:05Speaker 2: of Light and Life in our reading.
- 23:09Speaker 3: So I wasn't necessarily counting that here because it's an
- 23:15Speaker 3: anthology because I really did think about it. I really
- 23:18Speaker 3: did think about it.
- 23:20Speaker 2: I genuinely didn't think about it until I finished reading
- 23:24Speaker 2: Tears of the Nameless. And I was like, wait a second,
- 23:29Speaker 2: hold on. And that's when I was like, oh crap,
- 23:32Speaker 2: there's like two stories in this book that could really
- 23:37Speaker 2: help people kind of get some context.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Right, but because it doesn't really belong to a phase
- 23:44Speaker 3: and it's got a mix of all three phases... it
- 23:49Speaker 3: doesn't really say, okay, we've got an anthology in phase one.
- 23:52Speaker 3: We've got an anthology in phase two. We've got an
- 23:54Speaker 3: anthology in phase three. Some people don't like anthologies. And
- 23:59Speaker 3: so if they're reading a young adult story, they're really like,
- 24:03Speaker 3: most people are not going to go, okay, I need
- 24:05Speaker 3: to go pick up this anthology as part of my journey.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:08Speaker 3: So that's because I thought about it like two weeks
- 24:11Speaker 3: ago when I was unpacking the shelves. Right. Cause like
- 24:15Speaker 3: I just did all this kind of thing. And I
- 24:17Speaker 3: was like, I'm not going to bring it up because
- 24:20Speaker 3: Tales of Light and Life is kind of its own thing.
- 24:23Speaker 3: It doesn't have replications in all of the phases. And yes,
- 24:29Speaker 3: it does cross over all three phases. But at the
- 24:33Speaker 3: grand scheme of things, the average reader who reads a
- 24:36Speaker 3: young adult book is not going to pick up an anthology.
- 24:39Speaker 3: And that's why I didn't bring it up because I
- 24:41Speaker 3: was like, we're reading this medium. Basically, I was like
- 24:48Speaker 3: reading a full young adult novel. It doesn't count here.
- 24:51Speaker 3: So that was my reasoning for not.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Bringing it up. And like, I think this book in particular, like,
- 25:04Speaker 2: I think we might have a completely different thought process
- 25:09Speaker 2: when we start reading the adult novels because of the
- 25:15Speaker 2: amount of information that Genuinely comes from the. Young adult novels.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I was kind of thinking. How like how fun.
- 25:25Speaker 3: It is.
- 25:27Speaker 2: To read. About. Aslan. In. Path of deceit. And. To like.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Get like his story. And I say his story. It's
- 25:44Speaker 2: really like. The small little spark that started the flame.
- 25:53Speaker 3: And that's what really leads into... That's what really makes
- 25:56Speaker 3: the cohesiveness work for Phase 3 in particular. Because of
- 26:01Speaker 3: how that carries over. I do think the overall story
- 26:06Speaker 3: of the young adult books falls flat because of the blight.
- 26:12Speaker 1: And.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Also because of the thorn seed in Into the Light.
- 26:15Speaker 3: I felt like that was just too much additional detail
- 26:19Speaker 3: for Claudia Gray and George Mann to really be able
- 26:22Speaker 3: to manage long term. And I know you say long term.
- 26:27Speaker 3: Long term is not really the word I was looking for.
- 26:29Speaker 3: But it's just a lot of information to pack into
- 26:32Speaker 3: one book. You think about it. I listened to Into
- 26:36Speaker 3: the Light, guys. I listened to it at 3.5 speeds.
- 26:39Speaker 3: which was just under three hours at 3.5.
- 26:42Speaker 2: That's when they just start sounding like chipmunks. I've tested it.
- 26:48Speaker 2: I've tested it. It's like, I, for me, I can
- 26:55Speaker 2: go 2.6 to three. Three is like a, Hey, I
- 27:01Speaker 2: need to finish the last two hours really quickly.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Like, it's not a, hey, I'm going to read an
- 27:09Speaker 2: entire book at this speed. It's like, hey, I need
- 27:12Speaker 2: to get finished with it already.
- 27:13Speaker 3: And it definitely is not how I would choose to
- 27:17Speaker 3: read it. I just had a migraine yesterday, so I couldn't.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Because originally I had it all planned out where I
- 27:22Speaker 3: was going to be able to listen to it at
- 27:23Speaker 3: two speed. But then I had a migraine yesterday and
- 27:26Speaker 3: it slowed me down.
- 27:27Speaker 2: And guys, like, you do not understand how much reading
- 27:33Speaker 2: Katie and I do for this podcast. um it's put
- 27:39Speaker 2: my like regular reading backlog into chaos it's like okay
- 27:46Speaker 2: I bought a new Brandon Sanderson book uh you know
- 27:52Speaker 2: back in like February I'm not gonna be able to
- 27:56Speaker 2: read that until 2030 like I'm just like putting it
- 28:01Speaker 2: off to the side You.
- 28:03Speaker 3: Brought up these High Republic episodes so I don't want
- 28:08Speaker 3: to hear it. Because I knew that I was pushing
- 28:12Speaker 3: you with the reading content. And you could have brought
- 28:16Speaker 3: up a different topic.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Let's be real. It was genuinely something that I wanted
- 28:21Speaker 2: to do now that the High Republic was quote-unquote over.
- 28:32Speaker 2: And You know, who knows? Maybe we might get something
- 28:35Speaker 2: that will, you know, reap some benefits at New York
- 28:39Speaker 2: Comic Con, you know? Who knows?
- 28:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:42Speaker 2: But I.
- 28:43Speaker 1: And.
- 28:45Speaker 2: We were talking about this while we were texting about it. Like,
- 28:48Speaker 2: going back and reading these things gives us a lot
- 28:52Speaker 2: of these, like, aha moments. We're like, holy crap, hold
- 28:56Speaker 2: on a second. Like, for me, like, I had mentioned
- 28:59Speaker 2: this before, but, like, what I am really loving about
- 29:04Speaker 2: the high Republic now going back is seeing how much
- 29:11Speaker 2: of like outside, like, like literally outer rim type of
- 29:19Speaker 2: breadcrumbs that each writer kind of just like played with
- 29:24Speaker 2: just to say like, in case this really pops off,
- 29:29Speaker 2: like maybe we can play along with here. Or do
- 29:33Speaker 2: a little bit of this and do a little bit
- 29:34Speaker 2: of that. You know, um, like, uh, into the dark,
- 29:39Speaker 2: we learn about the Sith and the Dren gear. Like
- 29:42Speaker 2: that was a really big thing for me. Um, you know,
- 29:45Speaker 2: you texted me, what was it yesterday? Or I think
- 29:48Speaker 2: it was yesterday about defy the storm and the connections, uh,
- 29:53Speaker 2: to path of deceit. Like that kind of stuff is
- 29:58Speaker 2: really rewarding. on if you catch it like first time
- 30:03Speaker 2: reading but it's like holy crap hold on i like
- 30:08Speaker 2: like because again we've we've always been a podcast that
- 30:13Speaker 2: is consuming every single corner of star wars we do
- 30:18Speaker 2: shows we've been doing movies we've been doing the books
- 30:22Speaker 2: i've been talking about video games Like, we have really
- 30:25Speaker 2: been doing everything. And sometimes the small details just, whoop,
- 30:31Speaker 2: go past us. Going back and reading these things is
- 30:35Speaker 2: helpful because then we're like, holy crap, yeah, we missed, like,
- 30:38Speaker 2: maybe the small detail here that we never even talked
- 30:40Speaker 2: about the first time around. Yeah. Yeah, so it's been nice.
- 30:45Speaker 3: It really is fun getting to see it because, like
- 30:48Speaker 3: you said, we... trying to read like the things in
- 30:53Speaker 3: advance and go like for reign of the empire book
- 30:56Speaker 3: two that's coming out we both read reign of the
- 30:59Speaker 3: empire one to make sure that we were on top
- 31:02Speaker 3: of things but like for the high republic with how
- 31:05Speaker 3: many releases were coming out we weren't always able to
- 31:07Speaker 3: go back and say okay i'm gonna read the five
- 31:10Speaker 3: books that happened before defy the storm comes out kind
- 31:14Speaker 3: of see what happens um and so it was cool
- 31:17Speaker 3: to catch those um on the backend of this second read,
- 31:25Speaker 3: or I think this was my third read for phase one,
- 31:29Speaker 3: but then my second for the rest of them, probably
- 31:32Speaker 3: at least since we reviewed them.
- 31:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Like my thing again, like reading freaking path
- 31:43Speaker 2: of vengeance. I think I was just as giddy and
- 31:46Speaker 2: excited to read this book again. You know, we, I
- 31:52Speaker 2: remember when we got this book announced, we spent like
- 31:59Speaker 2: 20 minutes literally just talking about the cover. Do you
- 32:05Speaker 2: remember that? We were like, what does it mean? Why
- 32:09Speaker 2: is this happening? What's that symbol over there? And those
- 32:11Speaker 2: emotions came back up. Learning about the path of the
- 32:20Speaker 2: open hand and path of the closed fist again, like
- 32:24Speaker 2: all of that stuff, like really, really fun to go
- 32:29Speaker 2: through those emotions again. So really fun. I do have
- 32:37Speaker 2: to ask, were there any books second time around now
- 32:44Speaker 2: that you felt like not so like, and, and this
- 32:49Speaker 2: is like, this is a loaded question because we're always
- 32:53Speaker 2: as positive as can be, but we do, you know,
- 32:56Speaker 2: we like to throw the honesty hammer down when we
- 32:59Speaker 2: need to. Were there any books that you felt like, Hey,
- 33:03Speaker 2: we probably gave it a lot of praise earlier and
- 33:07Speaker 2: it doesn't feel like that now. Or is there any
- 33:09Speaker 2: books that you read that were like, man, we didn't
- 33:11Speaker 2: really touch on this a whole lot, but now I
- 33:14Speaker 2: feel like this is a really good book to, You know,
- 33:18Speaker 2: I really don't feel.
- 33:19Speaker 3: Like we actively hated anything. I say hate. Like you said,
- 33:25Speaker 3: hate is a strong word with us. We don't really
- 33:27Speaker 3: ever hate anything.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:30Speaker 3: Out of the Shadows definitely is probably my least favorite.
- 33:35Speaker 3: But even reading it now, it's still a very good book.
- 33:39Speaker 3: It just feels misplaced in the cohesiveness of the overall story.
- 33:43Speaker 3: And I do appreciate... that at least Tessa Gratton and
- 33:47Speaker 3: Justina Ireland were then able to tie back in Jordana
- 33:51Speaker 3: and Sylvester in Defy the Storm.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:54Speaker 3: Defy the Storm, though, feels more in place with the
- 33:58Speaker 3: other six books. Yeah. If we're not counting Out of
- 34:03Speaker 3: the Shadows.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:04Speaker 3: Out of the Shadows feels like it's just its own thing.
- 34:09Speaker 3: And that's not to say, again, I want to stress this.
- 34:12Speaker 3: It is not a bad book. it just feels out
- 34:15Speaker 3: of scope with everything else. If you read the other
- 34:18Speaker 3: seven books, things flow a little bit more together with
- 34:23Speaker 3: how the store, the cohesiveness of the story.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:28Speaker 3: So I feel maybe, and tell me, tell me if
- 34:33Speaker 3: this makes sense. Maybe it's also the fact that Avon's
- 34:36Speaker 3: not in, but like Avon is in phase three. So
- 34:41Speaker 3: it just keeps the characterization going. I don't know because
- 34:47Speaker 3: I feel like with Vernestra I need to be able
- 34:49Speaker 3: to see Avon in the background and she's just not
- 34:53Speaker 3: there in Out of the Shadows for good reason but I.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Don't know yeah I will agree that Out of the
- 35:02Speaker 2: Shadows felt the most out there I.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Think we said that when we reviewed it is like
- 35:11Speaker 3: this doesn't feel like it flows properly into.
- 35:13Speaker 2: The dark yeah uh i will say this one that
- 35:17Speaker 2: i have a little bit more appreciation for um i
- 35:21Speaker 2: was in the middle of moving and abby was in
- 35:25Speaker 2: the middle of being pregnant um was midnight horizon yep
- 35:32Speaker 2: um wait hold on i'm trying to remember if that's
- 35:35Speaker 2: correct If she.
- 35:38Speaker 3: No, because you strongly disliked Midnight Horizon, if I remember it.
- 35:41Speaker 3: And actually, a lot of people disliked Midnight Horizon. But
- 35:44Speaker 3: Midnight Horizon was one of my favorites out of Phase 1.
- 35:47Speaker 2: So, Midnight Horizon came out in February. This was, like,
- 35:52Speaker 2: in the beginning of Abby being pregnant.
- 35:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:00Speaker 2: My life was chaotic at that point. And we had
- 36:04Speaker 2: actually reviewed the book... while I was staying at a
- 36:08Speaker 2: friend's house, um, I was recording on my laptop. It
- 36:12Speaker 2: was like, it was hectic. So like this was a,
- 36:15Speaker 2: this was on top of how crazy and, and, and
- 36:19Speaker 2: how fast we read books. This one felt like I
- 36:22Speaker 2: wasn't really able to sit with it when we first
- 36:26Speaker 2: read it this time around. I really appreciated this story.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Really fun. Um, gives more context to a lot of
- 36:37Speaker 2: the characters that are in it, specifically Komak and his story.
- 36:47Speaker 2: So I really appreciated Midnight Horizon this time around. I
- 36:53Speaker 2: genuinely do love that story. And for me, I also
- 37:01Speaker 2: felt like I had read Defy the Storm. a little
- 37:05Speaker 2: too quickly and that reason being we.
- 37:12Speaker 5: Had this was in the middle of me moving to
- 37:19Speaker 5: indiana i think so yeah i had i had moved.
- 37:24Speaker 2: When uh uh oh my gosh uh what's the adult
- 37:28Speaker 2: book that started the phase three.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Eye of darkness.
- 37:32Speaker 2: Eye of darkness We had just reviewed that one when
- 37:36Speaker 2: we had moved, when I had moved. And so, but
- 37:39Speaker 2: we had already gotten a copy of Defy the Storm.
- 37:42Speaker 2: So again, my life was a little unstable. Reading through
- 37:46Speaker 2: this very quickly. This one, I remember both of us
- 37:51Speaker 2: texting each other. Hey, how far are you? Hey, how
- 37:55Speaker 2: far are you? We were really enjoying this one as
- 37:59Speaker 2: we were reading it and wanted to talk about it
- 38:01Speaker 2: as we were reading. reading it before we even got
- 38:04Speaker 2: on the podcast, this one, I got all of those
- 38:09Speaker 2: emotions again. Um, this one really kind of sets the
- 38:13Speaker 2: tone for the like rest of the phase. So I
- 38:21Speaker 2: really enjoyed this one like a lot, a lot. Um, and,
- 38:26Speaker 2: and going back, it's a great book.
- 38:28Speaker 3: And I love div a lump up. Uh, it's, a
- 38:32Speaker 3: character in it. Like, it's super great. She's a super
- 38:36Speaker 3: great character. And I love the idea that the Shani
- 38:39Speaker 3: live for, like, thousands of years. Like, that's so intriguing
- 38:44Speaker 3: to me. And I know, like, when Vernestra came up as, like,
- 38:48Speaker 3: the acolyte, we were like, but does another character really
- 38:51Speaker 3: need to live that long? But, like, I think it's
- 38:56Speaker 3: a little bit different when it's, like, hundreds of years versus, like,
- 38:58Speaker 3: thousands of years.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Like.
- 39:01Speaker 3: In Into the Light, for instance, at the beginning when
- 39:04Speaker 3: Master Adampo is killed when they're trying to evacuate a
- 39:09Speaker 3: planet from the Blight. And they go to the ceremony
- 39:13Speaker 3: because they weren't able to get her body back. Or
- 39:17Speaker 3: their body. I can't remember what they are. But Wreath
- 39:21Speaker 3: talks about how Master Yoda literally knows every single Jedi
- 39:25Speaker 3: in the Order because of how old he is. and
- 39:30Speaker 3: stuff and like that that just rings in your head
- 39:33Speaker 3: a little bit as like you go okay this character
- 39:35Speaker 3: has lived for almost a thousand years yeah they know
- 39:39Speaker 3: a ton of people yeah.
- 39:45Speaker 2: So now i have to ask katie Now that we
- 39:49Speaker 2: have these books now read, because, I mean, me and
- 39:54Speaker 2: you both sometimes read before we even record our initial reviews.
- 40:00Speaker 2: We reread books. I think I have fairly read each
- 40:05Speaker 2: book now twice for sure. I may have read one
- 40:10Speaker 2: or two of them a third time. But now that
- 40:14Speaker 2: we have these books well-read... First, I want you to, well,
- 40:21Speaker 2: you already gave me that question. I was going to say, hey,
- 40:23Speaker 2: give me a ranking per phase and then give me
- 40:26Speaker 2: a ranking per book. But you kind of told me
- 40:28Speaker 2: it sounds like your ranking per phase would be two, three, one.
- 40:41Speaker 3: I actually, so that's like my cohesiveness rankings. So in
- 40:48Speaker 3: terms of how I liked the books the best, it's
- 40:52Speaker 3: probably Phase 3, Phase 2, Phase 1. 3, 2, 1?
- 40:56Speaker 2: Okay.
- 40:59Speaker 3: Yeah. And it's all super close. I talk about this
- 41:04Speaker 3: a lot, but it really kind of depends on the
- 41:07Speaker 3: mood of what you're in. But I just think with
- 41:10Speaker 3: Phase 3, the characters have grown so much, and I love...
- 41:15Speaker 3: I love Reed's relationship with Amadeus and how he recovers
- 41:21Speaker 3: his relationship with Comac. And it's like, okay, it's not
- 41:24Speaker 3: like great, but like we've recognized that we have trauma
- 41:28Speaker 3: here kind of thing and moved past it. And very
- 41:32Speaker 3: similar for Nestor with Emery in Defy the Storm is fantastic.
- 41:35Speaker 3: And I love it. So I just love seeing that
- 41:40Speaker 3: part of the story. It's all super close. but that
- 41:46Speaker 3: would have to be my ranking. I think for phases.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Yeah. Phases for me would probably be two, three, one. Um,
- 41:57Speaker 2: I was so hyped over phase two. I thought it
- 42:02Speaker 2: was so much fun. Um, I'm a big like theory
- 42:09Speaker 2: and conspiracy person when it comes to books, when it
- 42:13Speaker 2: comes to stories, um, I'm not a big conspiracy person
- 42:17Speaker 2: in real life, but when it comes to trying to
- 42:21Speaker 2: guess how a book is going to end or like, hey,
- 42:24Speaker 2: how is the villain or the hero going to make
- 42:26Speaker 2: it out of this? I love thinking about that type
- 42:30Speaker 2: of stuff. And phase two had us itching our head
- 42:36Speaker 2: the most because of all the twists and turns. And
- 42:42Speaker 2: for the young adult novels specifically, I really love that
- 42:49Speaker 2: for one, the young adult got to bookend phase two.
- 42:56Speaker 2: We got to get a young adult at the very
- 42:59Speaker 2: beginning of phase two and the path of vengeance ended
- 43:03Speaker 2: phase two as well. Uh, so I really, really enjoyed that. Um,
- 43:09Speaker 2: and then like with phase one, I think that a
- 43:12Speaker 2: lot of people we've, said it before that like phase one,
- 43:19Speaker 2: they knew what they were doing, but they were still experimenting.
- 43:24Speaker 2: They were still like introducing characters and seeing what concepts
- 43:29Speaker 2: worked and what stuck. And so like, it is the weakest,
- 43:37Speaker 2: but it's not bad, you know? So, and that's why
- 43:41Speaker 2: it's at the bottom, honestly.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Okay. And that's what I think, too, is it's all
- 43:46Speaker 3: super close, but in how the storytellers were able to
- 43:50Speaker 3: grow the story that they were telling across three, sometimes
- 43:56Speaker 3: four different authors, it's really fantastic. And it just shows
- 44:03Speaker 3: how well they adapted to the different changes that had
- 44:07Speaker 3: to come up. It's just super, super well done. Yeah. So.
- 44:13Speaker 2: With that being said, eight books, Katie. How are you
- 44:19Speaker 2: ranking them?
- 44:21Speaker 3: So I think I would have to go Tears of
- 44:26Speaker 3: the Nameless, Path of Vengeance, Defy the Storm, Midnight Horizon,
- 44:39Speaker 3: Into the Light, Into the dark. Path of deceit. Out
- 44:47Speaker 3: of the shadows.
- 44:50Speaker 2: And I think.
- 44:52Speaker 3: The two that I have. At the bottom. My opinion
- 44:55Speaker 3: on those two. Have stayed the same. Basically throughout the rereads.
- 45:01Speaker 2: Is.
- 45:03Speaker 3: Out of the shadows. Just struggles for me. As an
- 45:06Speaker 3: overall story. It's still a good book. But just with
- 45:11Speaker 3: having to. reconcile the fact that this is all supposed
- 45:15Speaker 3: to be one story it struggles the most path of
- 45:19Speaker 3: deceit i struggled with the difference in how tessa gratton
- 45:25Speaker 3: and justina ireland chose to write their different chapters like
- 45:28Speaker 3: i felt like i and i don't know who wrote
- 45:33Speaker 3: what but i felt like have most chapters and marta's
- 45:36Speaker 3: chapters differed so strongly it didn't feel cohesive.
- 45:41Speaker 2: Enough We said the same thing when we first recorded
- 45:47Speaker 2: our review.
- 45:49Speaker 3: It's still a very good book if you look at
- 45:52Speaker 3: it from a bird's eye view. But when you go
- 45:55Speaker 3: to look at the details, that's where I struggle with it.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Because I feel like even though you're technically writing the
- 46:02Speaker 3: villain's perspective and the hero's perspective, they still shouldn't somewhat
- 46:11Speaker 3: flow together and I just don't feel like they flow
- 46:13Speaker 3: together I feel like Defy the Storm feels like one
- 46:17Speaker 3: book and it feels like one author wrote it so
- 46:20Speaker 3: I do feel like they learned and that's how Defy
- 46:23Speaker 3: the Storm gets so high on my list it's because
- 46:26Speaker 3: of that aspect but Path of Deceit is just where it.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Struggles I have Path of Deceit a little bit higher
- 46:37Speaker 2: than you but not by much my ranking would have
- 46:42Speaker 2: to go. And like, I put too much of like
- 46:52Speaker 2: my own feelings of like how I felt for the
- 46:55Speaker 2: whole story and not necessarily like looking into the writer
- 47:04Speaker 2: aspect of it, which I know I should as a reviewer. Um,
- 47:09Speaker 2: But my ranking would have to be Path of Vengeance,
- 47:14Speaker 2: Tears of the Nameless, Defy the Storm, Midnight Horizon, Into
- 47:27Speaker 2: the Light, Path of Deceit, Into the Dark, Out of
- 47:34Speaker 2: the Shadows.
- 47:38Speaker 3: Our rankings really aren't that different.
- 47:41Speaker 2: No, not too much. I do believe I had Midnight
- 47:49Speaker 2: Horizon much lower the first time around. But going back
- 47:55Speaker 2: and being able to actually enjoy this time and really
- 47:59Speaker 2: absorb all of the aspects. Because one of the big
- 48:03Speaker 2: complaints that I had the first time reading it Actually,
- 48:12Speaker 2: one of the first complaints that I had about Midnight
- 48:15Speaker 2: Horizon was the non-linear storytelling. Everybody knows I do not
- 48:22Speaker 2: like non-linear storytelling. Now, this time around, knowing everybody's story,
- 48:32Speaker 2: knowing how it all turns out, it actually flows better.
- 48:38Speaker 2: with the nonlinear storytelling. So that's what really got it
- 48:43Speaker 2: up there for me. But yeah, yeah, that would be
- 48:47Speaker 2: my ranking for the young adult novels.
- 48:53Speaker 3: So I think this is my last question. Cause we'll
- 48:56Speaker 3: be able to finish this when we do the adult conversation,
- 49:01Speaker 3: which is scheduled guys that is currently scheduled for the
- 49:05Speaker 3: beginning of November.
- 49:06Speaker 2: And Yes, that's what I was going to ask, yeah.
- 49:11Speaker 3: And that may change, because I may need more time
- 49:13Speaker 3: to read, so I don't have to listen to the
- 49:15Speaker 3: Phase three books on 3.5 speed. But so if you
- 49:23Speaker 3: had to pick one to recommend to somebody, would it
- 49:26Speaker 3: be the young adult or the middle grade one?
- 49:31Speaker 2: As of right now, it would be the young adult.
- 49:39Speaker 3: And that's the same for me. And because most people
- 49:42Speaker 3: are going to pick up a young adult over a
- 49:44Speaker 3: middle grade book anyways, but because there's the middle grade,
- 49:47Speaker 3: I feel like you have to include the middle grade.
- 49:49Speaker 3: It'll be an interesting conversation when it comes down to
- 49:52Speaker 3: young adult versus adult. But I think for getting an
- 50:00Speaker 3: overall synopsis of what the High Republic is and the
- 50:04Speaker 3: initiative that they wanted to write, the young adult, Right
- 50:08Speaker 3: now is the one to go to. If you're looking for.
- 50:12Speaker 3: I want to read eight books. Which is still a lot.
- 50:15Speaker 3: But I want to be able to understand the story.
- 50:18Speaker 3: And that's the young adult right now.
- 50:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:25Speaker 2: And the adult novels. There is eight in there as well.
- 50:31Speaker 3: We are not including the audio dramas. Yes.
- 50:36Speaker 2: We are not including the audio dramas. For those of
- 50:40Speaker 2: you who would like to prep for when we do
- 50:43Speaker 2: discuss it, those books are going to be Light of
- 50:48Speaker 2: the Jedi, The Rising Storm, Fallen Star, Convergence, Cataclysm, Eye
- 51:00Speaker 2: of Darkness, Temptation of the Force, and Trials of the Jedi. Now,
- 51:05Speaker 2: correct me if I'm wrong, Convergence and Cataclysm, I got
- 51:09Speaker 2: those correct, right? It's Convergence first and then Cataclysm?
- 51:14Speaker 3: Yes.
- 51:16Speaker 2: Okay, cool, cool, cool. Yeah.
- 51:18Speaker 3: Again, don't have my glasses on, so I don't know why.
- 51:20Speaker 2: I'm turning around. But yeah, it's all of those in
- 51:26Speaker 2: that order.
- 51:29Speaker 3: Yes, because I have my special editions up top, which
- 51:32Speaker 3: you can't see, and they're backwards. Because the girl cover
- 51:36Speaker 3: was first and then the boy cover was second.
- 51:38Speaker 2: That's right. Yeah. Yeah. So if you guys would like
- 51:42Speaker 2: to prep with us, those are the eight books to read.
- 51:47Speaker 2: And then, yeah, that is it, guys. So thank you
- 51:55Speaker 2: for being with us today. I want to say thank
- 52:02Speaker 2: you for... Those of you who listen to Ranger Alliance,
- 52:07Speaker 2: I know that we have been kind of off and
- 52:10Speaker 2: on again. We're trying to figure out a cohesive schedule.
- 52:15Speaker 2: Jake actually accidentally had a case of just horrible, horrible
- 52:24Speaker 2: self-imposed food poisoning.
- 52:26Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 52:28Speaker 2: I say food poisoning. It's not really food poisoning. He
- 52:31Speaker 2: just accidentally... put old milk in his coffee and it
- 52:36Speaker 2: was not good for him. So, so I had to
- 52:41Speaker 2: do a solo show. So thank, thank you for all
- 52:44Speaker 2: of you who are still listening to that. We are,
- 52:46Speaker 2: we are going to be like together to actually have
- 52:49Speaker 2: a conversation about the show. So it will happen. It
- 52:53Speaker 2: will happen. But yeah, guys, you can follow me at
