- 0:50Speaker 1: From Mr Jenny's basement apartment on this CHRISP Chris January
- 0:56Speaker 1: evening where we went up to an old lady's house
- 0:59Speaker 1: on the hill and tended to be plumbers.
- 1:02Speaker 2: It's Sports Allegedly.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Welcome, Welcome, welcome, Thank you all for joining us for
- 1:06Speaker 3: this episode of Sports Allegedly on this eighth day of
- 1:09Speaker 3: our Lord twenty five, our first podcast of the year.
- 1:14Speaker 4: It is I think, isn't it.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Yeah, because I don't think we've done one another anyway,
- 1:20Speaker 3: Thanks for joining us.
- 1:22Speaker 5: Lots we should have.
- 1:23Speaker 2: We should have done this like a couple of days
- 1:26Speaker 2: ago for the evening we have.
- 1:28Speaker 3: You know, we have a bunch obviously to talk about
- 1:31Speaker 3: NFL because there it's the prime of the season. It
- 1:35Speaker 3: is now the greatest month of sports ever ever, well
- 1:42Speaker 3: besides September it starts it all. That's like the greatest.
- 1:45Speaker 3: And you know, maybe this is great, I know, all right,
- 1:49Speaker 3: let's talk about the season. I know it's already almost over.
- 1:53Speaker 3: It's the quickest four months of your life, fully, four months,
- 1:56Speaker 3: I think, so September, Orterment, no Revember, December, yeah, in August.
- 2:01Speaker 4: That was like the thirty first.
- 2:02Speaker 2: But if anybody's wondering the UFL is on its way. Yes,
- 2:10Speaker 2: we will have more football and then the European League
- 2:12Speaker 2: of Football will start again soon. And if you hear
- 2:16Speaker 2: something blowing in the background, it's the heater because it's cold.
- 2:20Speaker 2: It's cold in the basement. The basement is old. There
- 2:23Speaker 2: is a child is a Chile. All right, where we're going.
- 2:27Speaker 3: First, college, Let's let's do a little recap of last
- 2:31Speaker 3: last week's games. Okay, because of your pool, and we
- 2:35Speaker 3: can start with the first one if you want to.
- 2:38Speaker 3: The Penn State Boise.
- 2:40Speaker 5: Boise State game.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Yeah, and you know.
- 2:44Speaker 2: It.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Okay, So we both picked and when I said I
- 2:46Speaker 3: had thirty eight twenty seven, you had twenty seven nineteen.
- 2:49Speaker 3: It wasn't far off either one of our picks.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Yeah, well, twenty seven nineteen is closer to the thirty
- 2:55Speaker 2: one fourteen.
- 2:56Speaker 3: We're not getting stematics about that, no, I mean I
- 3:01Speaker 3: kind of thought that's how it was going to be.
- 3:02Speaker 3: I thought the fourteen nothing early. You know, Penn State
- 3:05Speaker 3: got on them early, and it probably tried to change
- 3:08Speaker 3: up some of the way that Boise played.
- 3:10Speaker 4: I don't necessarily know if it did, but I.
- 3:13Speaker 2: You know, knowing that Boise was a one hit team
- 3:17Speaker 2: with with just having Ashton genty. If you get to
- 3:23Speaker 2: the quarterback, the quarterback's taken out of play, the teams
- 3:26Speaker 2: are taken out.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Yeah, statistically through three interceptions, twenty three thirty five four yards,
- 3:32Speaker 3: So he did throw more, he did, and Ashton still
- 3:35Speaker 3: got one hundred yards, but it took him thirty carries
- 3:37Speaker 3: to get it was a three and a half point average.
- 3:38Speaker 2: So yeah, he didn't get it till the fourth quarter exactly.
- 3:41Speaker 3: So I think it's exactly how Penn State wanted to
- 3:45Speaker 3: draw that up. You know, Boise had a few more
- 3:48Speaker 3: total yards because they threw the ball more, but Penn
- 3:51Speaker 3: State controlled the clock, rushed the ball two hundred and
- 3:53Speaker 3: sixteen yards versus one hundred and eight, and they had
- 3:56Speaker 3: a little almost six yards of play when it came that.
- 3:59Speaker 3: So there was a lot of there was a lot
- 4:01Speaker 3: of things that were, you know, pretty close, but the
- 4:05Speaker 3: four turnovers to their one is what killed them. I
- 4:09Speaker 3: mean just killed Boise. And that's what you've seen in
- 4:13Speaker 3: some of these playoff games is the team. Some of
- 4:16Speaker 3: these teams just aren't ready. I mean they are just
- 4:19Speaker 3: not real. It's just Indiana was.
- 4:22Speaker 2: One, well you saw, okay, so was one.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Give credit to Penn State because that was both games.
- 4:27Speaker 2: So the first round you saw every home team win,
- 4:30Speaker 2: and in this round you saw every team that had
- 4:33Speaker 2: played the week before come in and win.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Yeah. No, byweek teams won.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Yeah, which is now Arizona State broke my heart because
- 4:41Speaker 2: they they tried. But moving on, no, no, no, no, We're
- 4:46Speaker 2: still in it because Penn State did did their defense,
- 4:50Speaker 2: held their defense did what it was supposed to. Uh,
- 4:53Speaker 2: you know, get to the quarterback, hold Aston gent to well,
- 4:58Speaker 2: they held him to a hundred yards because he.
- 5:00Speaker 5: Didn't have one hundred yards till late in the fourth quarter.
- 5:04Speaker 2: And I know that it was Army's quarterback that ended
- 5:09Speaker 2: up the year with the most rushing touchdowns after his
- 5:14Speaker 2: ball game, Oh possible. Yes, And Ashton Genty was supposed
- 5:20Speaker 2: to come in and and scored touchdowns because you know,
- 5:25Speaker 2: Barry Sanders would probably be ahead.
- 5:27Speaker 5: But they don't count bear any of Barrie's bowl games.
- 5:31Speaker 2: We didn't start doing that untill what a few years.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Ago, and I think obviously I haven't seen how many
- 5:35Speaker 3: games he's compared to that. But no, I mean it
- 5:39Speaker 3: was a good year for Boise. They made the playoffs.
- 5:41Speaker 3: I mean, actually year twelve and two. They were I mean,
- 5:46Speaker 3: you can't fault them, it's just.
- 5:50Speaker 2: It looked lost, and they did lose their defensive coordinator.
- 5:53Speaker 2: He retired at the end of the season because he
- 5:57Speaker 2: was tired of the larger teams snipe.
- 6:00Speaker 3: And his players.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Yeah, he he retired saying that, you know, there's there's
- 6:08Speaker 2: no way for him to compete if his guys are
- 6:11Speaker 2: gonna end up going to bigger programs, his.
- 6:13Speaker 5: Guys that do well because they don't have the money.
- 6:16Speaker 2: To to pay for those those excellent players.
- 6:19Speaker 3: No, it's a thing.
- 6:22Speaker 2: So but yeah, Penn State, I knew they were gonna win.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I did not expect for me to be picking them
- 6:30Speaker 2: to go to the national title.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Mm hmmm.
- 6:34Speaker 2: So there's that.
- 6:36Speaker 5: That's that's a very big surprise for me.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Penn State, best team I've seen them since the years.
- 6:45Speaker 4: I think I.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Think they're better than this than that.
- 6:48Speaker 2: They were really good.
- 6:50Speaker 3: That's what I thought that. You know, Drew al Or,
- 6:53Speaker 3: he's a sophomore this year, was a true freshman last year.
- 6:56Speaker 3: I think the key stat that I was looking, you know,
- 6:58Speaker 3: he never impresses me. But they're not a big throwing team.
- 7:03Speaker 2: But Keaton, Keaton Kate k Tron Allen Kate, what his uh?
- 7:09Speaker 2: The running back? He's a junior, so I'm the year
- 7:13Speaker 2: that he's having.
- 7:14Speaker 3: I kind of expected, Sorry, Drew's a junior. I didn't
- 7:16Speaker 3: realize that I made.
- 7:17Speaker 5: Him running back is a junior as well.
- 7:19Speaker 3: I could have swore he was a freshman last year.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Maybe he was a freshman the year before.
- 7:23Speaker 2: And I'm kind of saying, if that running back doesn't
- 7:25Speaker 2: go to the NFL as well as he's done this year,
- 7:29Speaker 2: the warrant kid is the Allen Allen for uh al
- 7:34Speaker 2: you know it's Alan Oh?
- 7:35Speaker 4: No, oh, you're talking about Penn Steak. Sorry, I'm sorry.
- 7:39Speaker 3: So Drew Drew Aller and he's twenty.
- 7:43Speaker 4: I did not realize he was that old.
- 7:46Speaker 2: I don't know if it would behoove him to stay
- 7:47Speaker 2: in twenty another year.
- 7:49Speaker 3: For twenty five.
- 7:54Speaker 4: I did not realize.
- 7:55Speaker 2: That behoove him to stay. It may it may not.
- 8:00Speaker 2: He would probably go in the first round, seeing as
- 8:03Speaker 2: how there are like three four teams.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Now multi tality. It is a five star coming out
- 8:09Speaker 3: of of high school. But what I thought most impressively,
- 8:14Speaker 3: you know, stats didn't really throw it out. There's thirteen
- 8:16Speaker 3: to twenty five hundred and seventy one yards but three touchdowns,
- 8:20Speaker 3: not interceptions. And then you've got Tyler Warren, the top
- 8:23Speaker 3: five pick, the next generational tight end of the NFL.
- 8:27Speaker 3: I don't know if he's quite brought Bowers, but Tyler
- 8:30Speaker 3: Warren put him on your fantasy six catches sixty three
- 8:33Speaker 3: yards tennis. Yeah, he's definitely going he'll be top five pick.
- 8:36Speaker 2: That's what I'm wondering if they're going to lose their quarterback,
- 8:38Speaker 2: running back, if they're going to lose their offensive weapons
- 8:41Speaker 2: in this draft.
- 8:42Speaker 3: And that's the funny thing is is there. I mean
- 8:46Speaker 3: they're bad. I mean I'm not. They scored thirty points man,
- 8:49Speaker 3: Well no, I mean, I just they're just you don't
- 8:50Speaker 3: thinking them as an offensive team, you know, the.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Team Franklin always has better defensive team and you get those,
- 8:58Speaker 2: you know, and that's what's lost them games. That's that's
- 9:00Speaker 2: why Penn State lost two games, is because they're not
- 9:02Speaker 2: an offensive juggernaut and they've always had great running backs.
- 9:06Speaker 5: Franklin can get good running back.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Yes, And that's what I was getting at, is like
- 9:10Speaker 3: you just put these in the middle of the road
- 9:11Speaker 3: quarterback these.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Teams to get but he was a five star.
- 9:14Speaker 2: That's that's That's what I'm saying.
- 9:16Speaker 3: You know, he starts out better then then what most
- 9:19Speaker 3: would have thought.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Who was the last the last Penn State quarterback?
- 9:25Speaker 4: Kerry Collins?
- 9:26Speaker 2: No, no, no, he's in the NFL right now. He's
- 9:31Speaker 2: a backup.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Yeah. It's it begins with this s isn't it, little smoker?
- 9:37Speaker 3: M anyways you think about that or google it. I
- 9:40Speaker 3: just I thought that was the but I thought, you know,
- 9:43Speaker 3: Penn State, now they're gonna match up with Notre Dame.
- 9:45Speaker 3: We'll get to that game here in a little bit
- 9:46Speaker 3: review it. But like I said, we both picked Penn
- 9:49Speaker 3: State to kind of win in a higher scoring game
- 9:52Speaker 3: just simply because that, uh Penn State. I mean we
- 9:58Speaker 3: thought that Penn State would score some points on Boise,
- 10:01Speaker 3: and they did thirty one points and Boise, like I said,
- 10:04Speaker 3: you know, the turnovers, they wouldn't have the turnovers.
- 10:06Speaker 4: It could have been a big difference.
- 10:09Speaker 2: And uh so Will Levis was there.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's not where he came out.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Trace McSorley is the one I'm thinking race, yes, mc sorry,
- 10:19Speaker 2: that's it. Yeah, McSorley is the one that I'm thinking
- 10:21Speaker 2: of Yah, yeah he is.
- 10:22Speaker 4: He's still in the NFL.
- 10:23Speaker 2: I think he is.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Uh, yes, will Lewis. Will Levis transferred there and then
- 10:28Speaker 3: went to Kentucky.
- 10:29Speaker 5: Currently Commander's back up.
- 10:32Speaker 2: He started out with the Ravens and went to the Cards.
- 10:37Speaker 2: He just jumped, So he's currently on the practice squad
- 10:41Speaker 2: of the Commanders.
- 10:42Speaker 3: All right, let's move on to the Texas. Oh no,
- 10:46Speaker 3: let's just let's move on to the who they're playing.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Let's do that way.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Well, no, because we're gonna get through. We did well.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Let's we talk about Notre Dame.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Yeah, we'll talk about not Dame. That's gonna say who
- 10:55Speaker 4: they're playing.
- 10:56Speaker 2: So Notre Dame goes into.
- 10:59Speaker 4: That's the Sugar Bowl tomorrow's night game.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Yes, uh, And they they handled Georgia quite handily. Georgia
- 11:10Speaker 2: had that look like they did with their other two losses,
- 11:14Speaker 2: like they just did not know what was going on.
- 11:16Speaker 2: And I'm not gonna blame Gunner Stockton for the loss.
- 11:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna blame the whole team for the loss because
- 11:24Speaker 2: Georgia did look like they did not want to be there. Well,
- 11:29Speaker 2: they didn't look prepared, and like I said, they looked
- 11:31Speaker 2: like they did for their two losses in the regular season.
- 11:35Speaker 4: Well, I just I just thought that Notre Dame.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Did a very good job defensively of containing their offensive weapons. Yeah,
- 11:43Speaker 2: I mean and controlling the line.
- 11:44Speaker 3: But I mean how many I mean, what stars and
- 11:47Speaker 3: what studs have you seen out of Georgia this year?
- 11:49Speaker 2: That means we've gone, You've got but that Beck was there.
- 11:53Speaker 5: But I don't think Beck is a stock.
- 11:55Speaker 3: I don't either, That's what I'm saying. I think Georgia
- 11:56Speaker 3: had lost a little bit of that firepower this year.
- 11:58Speaker 2: What they they've got like two three good wide receivers,
- 12:01Speaker 2: that's just it.
- 12:03Speaker 3: So two hundred they you know, they Notre Dame held
- 12:05Speaker 3: him down to three hundred yards total. They only had
- 12:07Speaker 3: sixty two rushing yards.
- 12:08Speaker 5: Technically Gunnerstockton's first start.
- 12:10Speaker 3: Yeah, and and you know they're but they but they
- 12:13Speaker 3: did They did fumble it twice and they lost the
- 12:16Speaker 3: time for possession, which losing time of possession to Notre
- 12:19Speaker 3: Dame is is critical in that because they play such
- 12:22Speaker 3: great defense.
- 12:23Speaker 5: Well, the Notre Dame will play a slow offense, yeah.
- 12:25Speaker 3: They will, and they run the ball and and that's.
- 12:28Speaker 5: For Riley Leonard to be the leading rusher and for
- 12:32Speaker 5: what he did.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Doesn't surprise all because he's ran the ball. I don't
- 12:36Speaker 3: think he really throws the ball that well, to be honest.
- 12:39Speaker 5: I know, you know it's it's right, That's what I'm saying.
- 12:42Speaker 3: When this he's fifteen to twenty four for ninety yards,
- 12:45Speaker 3: would you get.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Wouldn't you get to Penn State? That's where that's where
- 12:48Speaker 2: he's going to struggle.
- 12:50Speaker 3: You think Penn State's defense is better than George's on
- 12:52Speaker 3: the front line. I mean, you might be right. I mean,
- 12:54Speaker 3: I'm done this year.
- 12:56Speaker 5: This year, they are this year, they honestly are.
- 12:59Speaker 3: I just I really, we'll get to our picks here.
- 13:04Speaker 2: You know, you got the SEC. You got the SEC
- 13:06Speaker 2: that says that it means more. Well, right now in
- 13:09Speaker 2: the Big Ten they want it more. Yeah. Well, and
- 13:12Speaker 2: I always considered Notre Dame as a Big Ten team
- 13:14Speaker 2: member and they are practically well. But the other teams
- 13:17Speaker 2: play act.
- 13:18Speaker 3: So we both lost that that game. We actually picked
- 13:22Speaker 3: the same score, Yeah, forty.
- 13:24Speaker 4: One twenty eight.
- 13:25Speaker 3: We thought it obviously that George would put up more
- 13:27Speaker 3: points than that, and you know, got Ter Stockton didn't.
- 13:29Speaker 2: I mean, it wasn't.
- 13:30Speaker 3: We had some moments twenty and thirty two if you're
- 13:32Speaker 3: into stats, but I mean Trevy ntm eleven carries thirty
- 13:35Speaker 3: eight yards. I mean, no one could run the ball
- 13:37Speaker 3: consistently to give them any shot of So.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Why Riley Leonard was a leading rusher with eighty yards
- 13:44Speaker 2: of the whole game. Well, yeah, correct, But their clock,
- 13:47Speaker 2: their their ball clock control was sixty two and and
- 13:51Speaker 2: the offensive line for them controlling that defensive line for Georgia.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Now, the time of possession was also. The time of
- 13:57Speaker 3: possession was interesting. It was fairly close within three minutes
- 13:59Speaker 3: of each other, thirty one to twenty eight. But you
- 14:01Speaker 3: know Georgia turned the ball over twice and then had
- 14:04Speaker 3: a couple of drives late that stalled and or early
- 14:06Speaker 3: I meant that stalled. Yeah, they just didn't look like
- 14:10Speaker 3: they you said, not want to be there.
- 14:12Speaker 6: I just thought they looked rattled. They didn't. They didn't
- 14:18Speaker 6: know where they were at that interesting Georgia team. So
- 14:21Speaker 6: what I'm saying they both lost that one.
- 14:23Speaker 2: They didn't they did not know what the hell was
- 14:25Speaker 2: going on. Do you look at that Georgia team. That
- 14:29Speaker 2: Georgia team, there was no prep there. It looked like
- 14:32Speaker 2: they were trying to play ahead to see that they
- 14:35Speaker 2: were playing Penn State or in Ohio State. They didn't.
- 14:40Speaker 2: They did not look at Notre Dame and say, oh shit,
- 14:43Speaker 2: they're beating us thirteen to three at halftime, and you
- 14:47Speaker 2: give them seven, you score seven, so you tie that.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Then you fucking you let them have a three, so
- 14:53Speaker 2: you lose by thirteen points.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Well, Georgia would get close.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I mean, you know, it's not whole, but it's not
- 15:00Speaker 2: the best. It's it's not you didn't capitalize on any
- 15:04Speaker 2: I watched that game. That game was just Georgia just didn't.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Shake in the mud. They were just slogging a little
- 15:11Speaker 3: show up, and that was it for sure. All Right,
- 15:14Speaker 3: we'll get to Notre Dame Penn State preview and pick
- 15:18Speaker 3: here in a little bit, we'll talk about let's talk
- 15:20Speaker 3: about the other side.
- 15:21Speaker 2: Though, Yes, let's talk about my biggest disappointment in Arizona State.
- 15:27Speaker 2: I did and they should have won sixteen points in
- 15:31Speaker 2: the fourth quarter.
- 15:33Speaker 3: I gat two games on you that.
- 15:36Speaker 2: I thought now I had gaged.
- 15:40Speaker 3: I have to go back and like, oh no, no, no,
- 15:41Speaker 3: we didn't pick that for our picks.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Oh no, I'm I'm two up on you. I'm three now,
- 15:48Speaker 2: spread picks. There's no way I can lose. No regular
- 15:53Speaker 2: season's over. We only do Week nineteen unless there's a tie.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Oh of course, of course, of course.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Unless there's a tie.
- 16:01Speaker 3: I'm not going to go through all that other sh well,
- 16:04Speaker 3: of course he's winning now. Anyway, go ahead. Let's talk about.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Texas last season too. But you and Destiny were tired,
- 16:10Speaker 2: and that was like two games back. I think then
- 16:12Speaker 2: everybody just kept picking the same games, and I was like, yeah,
- 16:16Speaker 2: that goes all right. So Texas Arizona State goes into
- 16:19Speaker 2: double overtime. Texas is the weakest team right now. In
- 16:24Speaker 2: the playoffs, they were the weakest. I just thought they
- 16:27Speaker 2: were the weakest team to even start out.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Who Texas, They're the most talented.
- 16:32Speaker 2: They huge talent, but still the weakest team. And you know,
- 16:37Speaker 2: you start out fourteen to three, you get up seventeen
- 16:40Speaker 2: to three going into halftime, and Arizona State makes their adjustments.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Arizona State comes out pops five, Texas gets nothing. Texas
- 16:52Speaker 2: only has one touchdown in the last two quarters, and
- 16:56Speaker 2: Arizona State gets sixteen in the fourth quarter, five and
- 17:00Speaker 2: the third. So you're coming out with twenty one points
- 17:03Speaker 2: right there. Correct, So you get into overtime and everybody's
- 17:08Speaker 2: giving quinn Ewers all these accolades for winning the game.
- 17:10Speaker 2: It wasn't quinn Ewers that won the game. It was
- 17:12Speaker 2: the defense that won the game. The defense hadn't gotten
- 17:16Speaker 2: the overtime, I hadn't got the I n T then
- 17:20Speaker 2: they would have played probably I'd say at least two
- 17:24Speaker 2: more overtimes.
- 17:28Speaker 3: It really just embodies the And I've always said this,
- 17:33Speaker 3: there's two things about Texas that bothers me a little bit. Sarkesians.
- 17:36Speaker 3: Team's never seen tough. And now the defense looked good.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Texas has a really good defense, and they held Scataboo
- 17:42Speaker 3: for a while.
- 17:43Speaker 4: And now he got hit.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Obviously, I said the second half of the second half adjustment,
- 17:46Speaker 2: he went wild.
- 17:48Speaker 3: And I also thought, you know, they have a Quinn
- 17:50Speaker 3: Yours problem. I've said that, And.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Well, the quinn Ewers was given so much praise for
- 17:56Speaker 2: winning the game. Well it was Quhenn you were stepping up.
- 17:59Speaker 2: It was Quinn you.
- 18:00Speaker 3: I mean, I mean twenty and thirty three and twenty yards,
- 18:03Speaker 3: three touchdowns, owner step.
- 18:04Speaker 2: That's cool for your stats. But you score seventeen points
- 18:08Speaker 2: in the first half and then only seven in the
- 18:09Speaker 2: second half.
- 18:10Speaker 3: No, I agree with that, but I thought that. I
- 18:12Speaker 3: thought that, you know, they could not run the ball.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Arizona State was like, hey, we're not gonna.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Run the ball.
- 18:17Speaker 2: You know, first half they went away for Arizona.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Arizona State out gained them five hundred and ten yards
- 18:24Speaker 3: of three hundred and seventy five, and rushing alone was
- 18:29Speaker 3: two hundred and fourteen to fifty three. You know, Texas
- 18:32Speaker 3: only had fifty three total rushing yards. Time of possession,
- 18:35Speaker 3: Arizona State owned, the interceptions was even, penalties was about even.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Arizona State ran thirty seven more plays than Texas and
- 18:45Speaker 3: still lost the game.
- 18:46Speaker 2: And that's why I thought Arizona State was gonna win them. Yeah,
- 18:49Speaker 2: I just that's really why I thought Arizona State had that.
- 18:51Speaker 3: And that's the scary part if you're a Texas fan
- 18:53Speaker 3: to watch them that they kind of got ran over
- 18:56Speaker 3: a little.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Bit and who you have to go against next.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll talk about that.
- 19:01Speaker 2: So, yeah, I completely Arizona did not disappoint me. I mean,
- 19:06Speaker 2: they did, but they deserve to be there. They did.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Is one of the best games to watch.
- 19:13Speaker 4: Yes, yes it was.
- 19:14Speaker 3: It was it was one of the game.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Yeah, so far closest game, best game.
- 19:20Speaker 3: And it's not good. It's not good for them to
- 19:22Speaker 3: say that.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Those for everybody, that's everybody that's going against the Big
- 19:27Speaker 2: twelve and the ACC and saying that it should just
- 19:30Speaker 2: be big ten SEC teams playing Arizona State stepped up.
- 19:35Speaker 2: I think I guarantee you, b Y, you would have
- 19:37Speaker 2: done better if they'd played, if they if they had been.
- 19:39Speaker 3: In maybe then like s m U issue, Yeah.
- 19:43Speaker 5: But I'm saying they would, they would have it would
- 19:45Speaker 5: have been better games.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Yeah, probably, so yeah, Okay, Colorado definitely not because b YU.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Anybody didn't know b YU killed Colorado in their bowl game?
- 19:58Speaker 2: Was that that same week? Just like Alabama got beat
- 20:03Speaker 2: by let's just go into this, they just didn't want
- 20:07Speaker 2: to be there Alabama, Alabama got beat by Michigan l
- 20:11Speaker 2: s U had to pull one out of their ass
- 20:13Speaker 2: to beat Baylor who was coming back on them, and uh,
- 20:19Speaker 2: South Carolina got beat mm hmm. And then and then
- 20:25Speaker 2: well a c C only was two and eleven. I
- 20:27Speaker 2: think yeah, but the but but all miss, but all
- 20:32Speaker 2: miss goes against the number seven a CC team. I
- 20:35Speaker 2: think Duke was or something. Yeah, and they acted like
- 20:39Speaker 2: they won the Super Bowl.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Well, I think that was a run up to score
- 20:43Speaker 3: deal there for sure, to make them to make that
- 20:47Speaker 3: more thin, to make it look better. I think the
- 20:51Speaker 3: what was it the f s C f S f
- 20:53Speaker 3: c S Championships, the.
- 20:55Speaker 2: F c S was the was was the jack rabbitson
- 20:57Speaker 2: Montena the Bison.
- 21:00Speaker 3: North Dakota State games to watch?
- 21:01Speaker 2: We watched that last night.
- 21:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it was yeah, it was last Woman.
- 21:06Speaker 4: It was really good. That was enjoyable, enjoyable football.
- 21:09Speaker 3: Right, let's get dork uh quick recap on Ohio State organ.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Yeah, here's the game that uh. I did not expect
- 21:17Speaker 2: it to be at twenty point.
- 21:18Speaker 4: This was easy for me to call.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Oh of course it was. There's an Ohio State is
- 21:25Speaker 2: playing organ to win. I did not.
- 21:27Speaker 3: And I think I picked the Ohio State with an
- 21:29Speaker 3: easy thirty eight twenty eight win.
- 21:32Speaker 4: Not too far really not and.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Uh and the and the key of that though, as
- 21:38Speaker 3: you watch, and I've said that last week about Ohio
- 21:41Speaker 3: State is Ohio State looks like a team on a mission.
- 21:44Speaker 4: You're playing angry, losing against mission.
- 21:47Speaker 3: We're going to fire their coach.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Make it did make it into the Big Ten title game.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Yeah, and they're playing very thirty four eight at halftime,
- 21:56Speaker 3: playing angry.
- 21:57Speaker 4: Yeah they are. And then and and they're on a mission.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Or could not do anything off so out gained him
- 22:04Speaker 3: five five hundred yards of two seventy six. And but
- 22:08Speaker 3: here's the rushing key Ohio State at one hundred and
- 22:11Speaker 3: eighty one yards rushing and House or Oregon had negative
- 22:14Speaker 3: negative twenty three, they only had almost four. And listen,
- 22:18Speaker 3: we all love Dylan Gabriel around here, but let's be honest.
- 22:22Speaker 3: Let's be honest.
- 22:23Speaker 5: State's playing angry.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Let's be honest. And this was never a national championship quarterback.
- 22:29Speaker 3: I'm just saying, well, but it was great. They were
- 22:32Speaker 3: a one seed and they barely be.
- 22:35Speaker 2: State right now is protecting their weakest link in their quarterback,
- 22:40Speaker 2: Will Howard.
- 22:42Speaker 3: I thought Will had probably the game of his life.
- 22:44Speaker 2: That's but that's what I'm saying. Nobody got to him.
- 22:47Speaker 2: There was like no pressure on him.
- 22:48Speaker 3: You know, we went, we talk we talked about Oregon's
- 22:50Speaker 3: you know schedule. They beat Illinois, which was a good win,
- 22:53Speaker 3: but well, they beat Boise but Purdue, yeah, but that
- 22:56Speaker 3: was early. But then they beat Ohiose State by one.
- 22:58Speaker 3: They beat UCLA.
- 22:59Speaker 5: You were stay, I don't they were falling off and no.
- 23:02Speaker 3: They beat they beat I just I think that you
- 23:06Speaker 3: I never judge a team how good they are game
- 23:08Speaker 3: one versus game ten, especially portal days now. And that's
- 23:13Speaker 3: good for Boise and Boise. Honestly, that's probably a bigger
- 23:16Speaker 3: compliment to organ that I'm giving, to be honest, because
- 23:18Speaker 3: they have such new people, new quarterback and everything. Boise
- 23:21Speaker 3: was the one that probably should have won that game
- 23:23Speaker 3: because they probably had the most consistent team left over,
- 23:26Speaker 3: because you know.
- 23:27Speaker 2: You don't have higher now losing Tess Johnson and somebody
- 23:32Speaker 2: else along with Dylan Gabriel. Yeah.
- 23:33Speaker 4: I haven't looked at all the portals for them but.
- 23:37Speaker 3: The draft. But no, I just I thought their schedule
- 23:39Speaker 3: was fairly easy to and and I thought the you know,
- 23:43Speaker 3: they they beat uh, they beat Michigan in Michigan. Michigan
- 23:48Speaker 3: is a funny team because I never thought Michigan we
- 23:50Speaker 3: were the ship this year, and then all of a
- 23:52Speaker 3: sudden they turn around and beat Alabama. And I'm not
- 23:54Speaker 3: saying that.
- 24:01Speaker 2: So Oregon was not was was definitely not prepared for
- 24:04Speaker 2: this game, and Ohio State controlled everything front to back
- 24:10Speaker 2: beginning to.
- 24:11Speaker 3: End, for sure, three touchdowns, no picks, and well, nobody
- 24:14Speaker 3: ever got to him.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Nobody ever got to him, was able to pressure him,
- 24:17Speaker 2: able to really rattle him.
- 24:20Speaker 3: And Jeremiah Smith, but he was able to He's never
- 24:24Speaker 3: one pick in the draft if he.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Could go to the draft.
- 24:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, this guy, what is he He's a freshman.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Well, and we knew that Ohio State had one of
- 24:35Speaker 2: the best offenses coming in, but that Will Howard was
- 24:37Speaker 2: their quarterback.
- 24:40Speaker 5: We talked about that at the beginning of the season.
- 24:42Speaker 3: We were concerned about his not being a passing.
- 24:47Speaker 2: And like I said, the way that this team is playing,
- 24:50Speaker 2: this team is playing a complete game both sides of
- 24:53Speaker 2: the ball, and they are protecting their weakest link in
- 24:57Speaker 2: Will Howard.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Yeah, but I like I said, I thought he played
- 25:01Speaker 3: well seven catches for Jeremiah Smith hundred and eighty seven yards.
- 25:04Speaker 5: You got to the losses that he was in.
- 25:06Speaker 2: They got to him, they were they were able to
- 25:08Speaker 2: distim him, they were able to to rush him, to
- 25:12Speaker 2: push him to bake.
- 25:12Speaker 3: They still had, you know, thirteen more plays than them.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Penalties were really low, turnovers were none. Time possession was
- 25:20Speaker 3: really close. It was just you know, they and even
- 25:23Speaker 3: third down efficiency that but you know, Ohio State didn't
- 25:26Speaker 3: get the third down. That was the deal. They got
- 25:28Speaker 3: on them early and Oregon just had to do a
- 25:31Speaker 3: totally different game plan.
- 25:33Speaker 2: And Henderson came on like you were supposed to.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Dylan Gabriel is just not a guy that you put
- 25:39Speaker 3: in there and scored twenty seven points or twenty eight
- 25:41Speaker 3: points to win it, or you know, even fourteen. But
- 25:44Speaker 3: I won.
- 25:45Speaker 2: They had been what thirty what was their average thirty
- 25:48Speaker 2: forty points a game?
- 25:49Speaker 3: Oh for sure, for sure.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Yeah, and then they get held to twenty one.
- 25:52Speaker 5: I think it was their lowest.
- 25:53Speaker 3: Now there are some rumors running around ramp, but that
- 25:55Speaker 3: we talked about this earlier. Jim Knowles, the defense coordinated
- 25:58Speaker 3: for Ohio State. It's been rumored. Yeah, joined in the
- 26:01Speaker 3: Oklahoma lat.
- 26:01Speaker 5: You brought that on now, I am not.
- 26:05Speaker 3: I think it'd be crazy to even think that would happen.
- 26:08Speaker 3: I mean he did, he was at Oklahoma State, his
- 26:11Speaker 3: wife's from here. I don't if there's some animosity or
- 26:16Speaker 3: something going on. Maybe that's why, because there was some
- 26:19Speaker 3: heat to fire him early in the year.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Well, you also remember that that Ryan Day had to
- 26:24Speaker 2: hire Chip Kelly. Yeah, I was.
- 26:28Speaker 3: I was reading a little story about that too. Is
- 26:30Speaker 3: they had talked.
- 26:30Speaker 2: About he hired ex head coaches.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Sure, but he has he has really got involved in
- 26:38Speaker 3: the offense since the playoff season started, which is you know,
- 26:41Speaker 3: obviously understandable. Fifty fifty six, forty nine better than Brian
- 26:47Speaker 3: thirty eight. You know, in their loss, they scored thirty
- 26:50Speaker 3: one points to Oregon. They got thirty five against Iowa.
- 26:55Speaker 3: They beat Penn State, but it was twenty to thirteen
- 26:57Speaker 3: mission for five. You got thirty eight on Indiana and yeah,
- 27:02Speaker 3: and held a ten. Yeah, just crazy.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Defense just came out of nowhere and they can kill
- 27:11Speaker 2: Look at the numbers for you.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Know, Yeah, he was two picks. That means a big difference.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Yes, massively. He wasn't running either.
- 27:24Speaker 3: And yeah it was but both had two interceptions.
- 27:27Speaker 4: You know, it was but it was the.
- 27:29Speaker 2: The Michigan was able to capitalize off and.
- 27:31Speaker 3: The yards were low. It was just an overall just.
- 27:36Speaker 2: That game was just Michigan warned down. Michigan just pounded them.
- 27:40Speaker 3: And that's what Michigan does.
- 27:41Speaker 2: And but like I said, Ohio State is for me,
- 27:45Speaker 2: is the most complete team going in especially with all
- 27:48Speaker 2: of them playing angry, the offense and the defense and
- 27:52Speaker 2: the offensive line protecting Will Howard. This much, we've watched
- 27:56Speaker 2: Will Howard play his entire career be and you know,
- 28:00Speaker 2: because he started in Kansas State. I agree, So we
- 28:05Speaker 2: know what kind of player Will Howard is. You get
- 28:08Speaker 2: to him, you can shut him down, you can rattle him,
- 28:11Speaker 2: you can win the game. Because that is Ohio State's
- 28:15Speaker 2: Achilles Hill.
- 28:17Speaker 3: So what do we got?
- 28:17Speaker 5: But I don't think anybody is going to get to him.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Let's go Friday's game tomorrow. Where's that game at? I
- 28:24Speaker 3: think it's the Orange Bowl, right, Notre Dame Penn State.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Notre Dame Penn State, hold on school on down there
- 28:31Speaker 2: we are. It's the Oe Thursday, January ninth, at six
- 28:35Speaker 2: thirty pm. Because both games at six thirty pm. Notre
- 28:38Speaker 2: Dame Penn State. Penn State's the home team at the
- 28:41Speaker 2: Orange Bowl. It's about yeah, says Notre Dame's got a
- 28:46Speaker 2: point and a half.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Vegas Insiders won.
- 28:50Speaker 2: When I took when I took the spreads, I had
- 28:52Speaker 2: to take him on ESPN because Vegas State. Vegas didn't
- 28:55Speaker 2: have at that point. So so Notre Dame coming in
- 29:00Speaker 2: looking to looking to control that Penn State offense. I'm
- 29:11Speaker 2: going to say that that Penn State.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Gets to Leonard, Okay, score.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Let's see, we'll uh. It's on a MS and o's
- 29:21Speaker 2: in here. I've been noticing, you believe I've been. No,
- 29:27Speaker 2: I've been. I've just been noticing, noticing every time I
- 29:30Speaker 2: see somebody speak.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Say yeah, and you think I do that a lot.
- 29:34Speaker 3: I do that a lot.
- 29:35Speaker 4: I know you do, but I try not.
- 29:37Speaker 2: But that's already. I'm going to take Penn State at
- 29:43Speaker 2: thirty four Notre Dame.
- 29:48Speaker 5: Twenty seven.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Okay, I'm pretty close to that too. I don't believe
- 29:54Speaker 3: in Penn State until now. I think the I think
- 29:57Speaker 3: the tight end warning is going to play a big factor,
- 30:01Speaker 3: and I think the defensive line is going to really
- 30:03Speaker 3: shut down.
- 30:05Speaker 2: It's going to come down to both defensive lines.
- 30:07Speaker 5: Yeah, controlling the offensive line, I've got it.
- 30:10Speaker 3: You got thirty four to twenty seven. I've got twenty
- 30:13Speaker 3: seven to twenty three, a little lower scoring game, but
- 30:15Speaker 3: I'm still going with Penn State on this one. I
- 30:17Speaker 3: think Penn State has the better defense. Now. Love the
- 30:21Speaker 3: running backs coming back for Notre Dame.
- 30:23Speaker 4: So he's going to be back.
- 30:25Speaker 5: But like I said, it's possibly Aler.
- 30:28Speaker 3: But and then and and Riley? Now Riley?
- 30:32Speaker 4: What is his name?
- 30:33Speaker 2: Alan Allen no Aler?
- 30:35Speaker 3: And then what's the all running back?
- 30:37Speaker 5: The running back for Penn State they come back?
- 30:39Speaker 4: What's the other quarterback?
- 30:41Speaker 2: Oh? Riley?
- 30:42Speaker 3: Riley Leonard. I was thinking, yeah, I know, I know,
- 30:46Speaker 3: I was thinking it was last thing's Riley? With that,
- 30:48Speaker 3: it's Riley Litter. I think he's gonna have to I
- 30:51Speaker 3: think he's gonna have to run the ball. But I
- 30:53Speaker 3: don't know if they're going to be able to slow
- 30:55Speaker 3: I think Penn State can slow him down, make him
- 30:59Speaker 3: throw the ball and put pressure on him. And I
- 31:02Speaker 3: think you see some you know five.
- 31:03Speaker 2: One of the funny things about this matchup and and
- 31:07Speaker 2: everything about Notre Dame coming.
- 31:08Speaker 3: In, I think it's going to be the better Were
- 31:10Speaker 3: people that were.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Throwing shade, Oh, it's gonna be the better game. People
- 31:15Speaker 2: that were throwing shape no at Brian Kelly, what about
- 31:22Speaker 2: the heat the old Notre Dame coach who bounced and
- 31:25Speaker 2: went to l s u No.
- 31:26Speaker 5: I saw a lot of people throwing yea too.
- 31:29Speaker 3: I think Freeman is he's not I'm not saying he's
- 31:34Speaker 3: a better player coach.
- 31:35Speaker 4: Okay, I don't.
- 31:37Speaker 3: I think sometimes I've seen some in game management that's
- 31:39Speaker 3: kind of been if he he's gotten.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Ut.
- 31:45Speaker 3: But I want to say he's got two of the
- 31:46Speaker 3: highest paid assistants. They know what they're doing, and I
- 31:50Speaker 3: think he's I think what he has done is he
- 31:52Speaker 3: really has put a good staff around him to be
- 31:55Speaker 3: able to make those decisions and not just be on
- 31:58Speaker 3: the flot. He kind of knows what's coming now, where
- 32:01Speaker 3: when he was younger it was like, oh shit, everything's
- 32:03Speaker 3: in Venable's kind of done the same thing.
- 32:06Speaker 2: It's got to.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Get better that too, not be so involved. And I think,
- 32:11Speaker 3: but you're right about that, And I don't even know.
- 32:13Speaker 3: I don't think that. I don't think Knowles is coming,
- 32:15Speaker 3: but it's just been rumor. But I think the Freeman,
- 32:17Speaker 3: I think the deal has been good and I think
- 32:19Speaker 3: it's actually if you're a Notre Dame fan, you should
- 32:21Speaker 3: be it's an improvement. You've got huge LSU took somebody
- 32:27Speaker 3: off your hands that was probably wearing out his welcome.
- 32:29Speaker 2: There a lot of articles we're talking about Brian Kelly
- 32:32Speaker 2: and the cope and seed that he should be having
- 32:36Speaker 2: over Freeman taking.
- 32:37Speaker 3: James Franklin is one of those guys that he is
- 32:40Speaker 3: a good coach. I'm I'm glad he's enjoying his fame
- 32:43Speaker 3: right now because he probably deserves it. It's just he
- 32:48Speaker 3: always he's been coaching with these badass against these badass
- 32:52Speaker 3: Ohio State and Penn State teams.
- 32:54Speaker 4: Now I mean Michigan.
- 32:56Speaker 3: So now you're going to be able to get to
- 32:57Speaker 3: flop a little bit and not have to play this
- 33:00Speaker 3: all the time, you.
- 33:01Speaker 4: Know what I mean?
- 33:01Speaker 3: And you have a playoff the show what you've done. Now,
- 33:04Speaker 3: let's be honest. Penn State did get an easier road
- 33:07Speaker 3: in the playoff, as did Texas until now.
- 33:12Speaker 2: So and we saw where Texas easy because, like I said,
- 33:15Speaker 2: two overtimes Arizona State.
- 33:17Speaker 5: Arizona State should have had that game.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Right's move on to So we come down to the
- 33:23Speaker 2: next game. Ohio State Texas slutter. You think it continues,
- 33:29Speaker 2: Oh yeah, absolutely, quinn Ewers is just gonna get beat up.
- 33:35Speaker 2: That Texas team is not going to know what to do.
- 33:37Speaker 2: It's it's gonna be a repeat of the Oregon game.
- 33:40Speaker 3: I don't think it's going to be that bad, but
- 33:42Speaker 3: I think it's gonna be a high scoring game. Texas
- 33:44Speaker 3: defense is the strength, and that's the problem is is
- 33:46Speaker 3: they've kind of given up some late points in a
- 33:48Speaker 3: lot of yards. So does Ohio State still continue The
- 33:52Speaker 3: momentum problem is it's a Texas home game for them
- 33:54Speaker 3: in Dallas, so the crowd's probably going to be heavy Dallas,
- 33:59Speaker 3: even though.
- 33:59Speaker 5: It's state team is playing pissed off.
- 34:02Speaker 2: I agree.
- 34:03Speaker 3: I agree with him too. I think it's going to
- 34:05Speaker 3: be a low scoring game early and then I think
- 34:07Speaker 3: it comes to a little bit of a barn burner.
- 34:09Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to will I'm gonna take it. I'm
- 34:11Speaker 2: gonna take it forty one to seventeen, Okay, well, and
- 34:15Speaker 2: I might want to go forty one ten.
- 34:17Speaker 5: I'm thinking forty one ten.
- 34:18Speaker 3: I went a little better for Texas. I did pick
- 34:21Speaker 3: forty two for Ohio State. I was thinking, but I
- 34:27Speaker 3: got Texas scoring thirty one probably a late touchdow all right,
- 34:32Speaker 3: and that's that's gonna be. That's going to be it
- 34:34Speaker 3: for that.
- 34:35Speaker 2: All right.
- 34:35Speaker 3: Let's move on to talk about the So we're both
- 34:38Speaker 3: picking a Penn State. It's Ohio State, Big ten.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a big ten national title. So SEC, you
- 34:45Speaker 2: screwed the pooch on this one.
- 34:48Speaker 3: Uh anything else college wise, I mean news.
- 34:52Speaker 2: You know this. We watched okay, let's talk about this
- 34:54Speaker 2: North Dakota State on State game. We were watching this
- 34:58Speaker 2: game and to State was handing them, was handing an
- 35:04Speaker 2: undefeated Montana State their ass. What was that? Twenty one
- 35:09Speaker 2: to three at halftime?
- 35:12Speaker 3: It was kind of boring, to be honest.
- 35:14Speaker 2: And then it got really really good. Montana State comes out,
- 35:18Speaker 2: scores fifteen straight and then they trade touchdowns and it
- 35:23Speaker 2: came down to the wire. Montana State scores a touchdown
- 35:28Speaker 2: with very little time try to get the onside kick.
- 35:32Speaker 3: The defense just could not tried to get.
- 35:34Speaker 2: The onside kick. They were so close to getting the
- 35:37Speaker 2: on side kick, and they had them for the punt,
- 35:42Speaker 2: and that punt was what killed him.
- 35:45Speaker 3: Hey credits to Tommyvellot thirteen twenty and ninety four yard,
- 35:49Speaker 3: five amazing touchdowns for Montana State. But he also ran
- 35:53Speaker 3: for one hundred and thirty five yards, which was nuts,
- 35:57Speaker 3: which was nuts, but uh, Cam Miller, you back him up.
- 36:01Speaker 3: He ran for one hundred and twenty one yards and
- 36:02Speaker 3: then passed for two touchdowns and scored two touchdowns ground
- 36:05Speaker 3: I thought the quarterbacks were just just lights out. Yeah,
- 36:09Speaker 3: and uh, it was it was a fun game. It
- 36:12Speaker 3: was just a fun game to watch because was it
- 36:14Speaker 3: kind of over was it was?
- 36:15Speaker 2: It was it lance that caught that that falling touchdown
- 36:19Speaker 2: before the halftime they.
- 36:20Speaker 3: Made well is that you talking about the two feet in?
- 36:22Speaker 2: Yes?
- 36:23Speaker 5: Yeah, the two feet in for North Dakota was.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Was it actually two feet because we're like, oh, you
- 36:27Speaker 3: don't only needs one, but.
- 36:29Speaker 2: You have the one.
- 36:30Speaker 5: I mean, he drugged that one right along the line.
- 36:32Speaker 3: It was amazing, it really was, And it was one
- 36:34Speaker 3: of the more entertaining games.
- 36:36Speaker 2: It was great game.
- 36:37Speaker 3: And kudos to them, I mean, and obviously so.
- 36:41Speaker 2: Favorite is now one and two and one and three,
- 36:45Speaker 2: one and two and that they haven't won since nineteen.
- 36:48Speaker 3: Eighty six, that long Yeah, really yeah.
- 36:54Speaker 2: And North Dakota State has won eleven of the last
- 36:59Speaker 2: four teen years, I don't know, fifteen years. I was
- 37:04Speaker 2: listening to it on the radio and they were talking
- 37:05Speaker 2: about it.
- 37:06Speaker 3: It's just it's been impressive because you usually see you know,
- 37:08Speaker 3: and they had to play South Dakota State if you
- 37:11Speaker 3: could hear it, and has been turned on and only
- 37:14Speaker 3: won only one seven or only beat it by touchdowns.
- 37:17Speaker 4: So that was you know, South Dakota State.
- 37:19Speaker 5: Well, yeah, that South State, right, South Dakota State.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Game was was what everybody thought was was gonna be
- 37:26Speaker 2: the best game of the SCS.
- 37:28Speaker 3: It was good, low scoring, but that this one was,
- 37:30Speaker 3: I mean exciting.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Like I said, after the second half, this game
- 37:35Speaker 2: got very good, very good.
- 37:38Speaker 5: These team's not coming to the FBS.
- 37:41Speaker 4: But you know, very very weird.
- 37:43Speaker 3: Cam Miller scored all those touchdowns in that game against
- 37:47Speaker 3: San Diego State.
- 37:47Speaker 4: He had three.
- 37:48Speaker 3: Passing South Dakoast I mean South against South Dakota State
- 37:52Speaker 3: for North Dakota State. Yes, and he scored all four
- 37:57Speaker 3: touchdowns or had a part of it. He threw for three,
- 38:00Speaker 3: run for one, so they knew he was a running
- 38:02Speaker 3: quarterback and they couldn't stop him. Still, he had the
- 38:04Speaker 3: good stats.
- 38:04Speaker 2: So oh, riss, return to practice. Let's go to the NFL.
- 38:12Speaker 3: Let's look at the playoff game.
- 38:15Speaker 2: All right, starting up on Saturday, July eleventh, Steelers at
- 38:20Speaker 2: the Riven.
- 38:21Speaker 3: Let's do the early game first.
- 38:22Speaker 2: This is it. Oh, I'm sorry, I have the Steelers,
- 38:25Speaker 2: Uh Chargers at the Texans at three thirty pm.
- 38:30Speaker 3: I can't think of a worse team to be rolling
- 38:32Speaker 3: into the playoffs. Besides the Steelers, and we'll get to
- 38:34Speaker 3: them in a second, is the Texans. What is the
- 38:38Speaker 3: Texans doing? They little shit?
- 38:40Speaker 2: They've lost their lost two of their good wide receivers.
- 38:45Speaker 3: Nos back, I think.
- 38:47Speaker 2: I thought they lost another one. Tank Dell went out.
- 38:50Speaker 2: I thought they had lost.
- 38:51Speaker 3: I think they're all back.
- 38:53Speaker 2: No, Dyll's Dill had the injury.
- 38:55Speaker 4: Oh yeah he did. He was the bad Yes, yes,
- 38:58Speaker 4: he was the tak.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Yeah. I was saying he was that horrible injury. Didn't
- 39:08Speaker 2: he score a touchdown into it? Isn't that what it was?
- 39:10Speaker 4: Pready dropped it anyway?
- 39:12Speaker 2: And of course the Ravers are gonna be without Zay
- 39:14Speaker 2: Flowers if you want to go there. He had a
- 39:16Speaker 2: bad injury. So Chargers are going to Energy Stadium, uh
- 39:22Speaker 2: to play the Texans. Chargers are favored by three. I
- 39:28Speaker 2: got the Chargers in this. I can't. I can't look
- 39:33Speaker 2: any other way. But uh, Ladd McConkie's playing really really well.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Justin Hibbert.
- 39:40Speaker 3: I yes, I think the lad pick was great. It
- 39:43Speaker 3: wasn't good as Bucky Irvin. We'll get to that here
- 39:44Speaker 3: a little bit. But but no, I mean I thought
- 39:48Speaker 3: that I thought they had I thought they had a
- 39:50Speaker 3: good draft because they had to get a wide receiver.
- 39:51Speaker 3: I mean, you got to think about the Chargers got
- 39:53Speaker 3: rid of their two most productive by numbers wise wide
- 39:57Speaker 3: receivers and and Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. And they
- 40:02Speaker 3: turned around and you know, get this this eighty two
- 40:06Speaker 3: receptions by a rookie from Lad mccongue in seven touchdowns.
- 40:11Speaker 3: But the hardball culture is legitimate. But you know, no
- 40:15Speaker 3: one is really talking about Justin Hrby.
- 40:18Speaker 2: I mean, even though hold on, even though that, even
- 40:22Speaker 2: though he coach Harbaugh says that he remembers the day
- 40:25Speaker 2: he was born.
- 40:28Speaker 3: But no, I just I think it's I just I
- 40:32Speaker 3: think it's very impressive of what they have done. I mean,
- 40:35Speaker 3: it shows you how bad Dodo was at coaching last year.
- 40:40Speaker 3: What was the old Brandon Brandon Brandon whatever his name
- 40:44Speaker 3: is now, Staley, Brandon Staley, I think it was his name.
- 40:49Speaker 4: The coach there was just horrible.
- 40:51Speaker 3: And you watch them teams play, You're like, damn, they
- 40:53Speaker 3: got talent everywhere, and they just lose late and it's dumb,
- 40:56Speaker 3: and they blew that.
- 40:57Speaker 2: They blew that the game. Remember they blew the playoff
- 41:00Speaker 2: game against the Jagi wars.
- 41:03Speaker 4: Yes they did that.
- 41:04Speaker 2: They were up big in that game and blewing against them.
- 41:07Speaker 2: But I think that's when we knew that he was
- 41:08Speaker 2: not going to bed.
- 41:11Speaker 3: That was a fact.
- 41:12Speaker 2: That that which I have just which which I had
- 41:16Speaker 2: been screaming that, you know, get he needs to be
- 41:19Speaker 2: fired anyway.
- 41:20Speaker 3: But but anyway, but now, Quentin Johnson, if you look
- 41:25Speaker 3: at the injury report though, is uh, you know.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Quentin Johnson, that's just no practice, I know. But and
- 41:33Speaker 2: if that's today, then that means that they're not playing tomorrow.
- 41:37Speaker 3: That was.
- 41:40Speaker 2: If that reports for today, then they're not playing tomorrow.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Yeah, they do play tomorrow, don't they?
- 41:45Speaker 2: Yes?
- 41:46Speaker 3: Oh no, no, Saturday, No, three days, it's only Wednesday.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Oh my god. What we have to look at the
- 41:54Speaker 2: injury report for Thursday and Friday. They could just be
- 41:58Speaker 2: hold them out.
- 41:58Speaker 3: I think they can. I think that the deal is
- 42:00Speaker 3: is the key one is Dobbins. If he plays uh
- 42:05Speaker 3: for the Chargers. I think that, you know, Josh Palmers,
- 42:08Speaker 3: Quentin Johnson needs a playwards and yeah, they need the
- 42:11Speaker 3: running back and it looks like they were just limited.
- 42:15Speaker 3: So that tells me they're going to play.
- 42:19Speaker 2: Yeah, you want to give them you want to give
- 42:20Speaker 2: him as much time to heal and then say, Okay,
- 42:23Speaker 2: you know you already know the you know the offense,
- 42:24Speaker 2: you know the plays, but we do need you to
- 42:26Speaker 2: take the reps.
- 42:28Speaker 3: Correct, So what you got score wise?
- 42:29Speaker 2: You think about this?
- 42:30Speaker 5: I'm taking Chargers.
- 42:32Speaker 3: H What's funny is that the Texans always play on
- 42:34Speaker 3: a three thirty slot too. They had a stat on that.
- 42:37Speaker 3: It was pretty funny all the years that they've played.
- 42:39Speaker 2: I'm taking the I'm taking the Chargers at the thirty
- 42:42Speaker 2: to thirty, thirty to nineteen nineteen.
- 42:47Speaker 3: I like that. Okay, I'm pretty close to you. Actually,
- 42:50Speaker 3: I got charge.
- 42:51Speaker 5: I'm going a touchdown on a bunch of field.
- 42:53Speaker 3: I got Chargers twenty seven. I've got Texans twenty one.
- 42:56Speaker 5: I'm going to give the Texans a bunch of field.
- 42:58Speaker 4: Texans twenty one.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Steelers Ravens. This is not even We're not do we
- 43:03Speaker 2: even need to talk about this game?
- 43:05Speaker 4: I think so, because.
- 43:07Speaker 2: All they're missing is a wide receiver.
- 43:09Speaker 3: I think that. But besides the last game the Steelers,
- 43:14Speaker 3: the Ravens never play good against the Steelers for some reason. Correct,
- 43:22Speaker 3: I mean you got to give me that at least,
- 43:24Speaker 3: I mean at least given.
- 43:26Speaker 2: It's always weird. It's always weird when they go into
- 43:28Speaker 2: the playoffs and they play somebody from the AFC North, correct,
- 43:31Speaker 2: because you remember Cincinnati always had their number no matter what.
- 43:36Speaker 3: Yes, but the.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Difference is is that Pittsburgh has two terrible quarterbacks. Your
- 43:46Speaker 2: m v P.
- 43:48Speaker 3: No, and they're playing the wrong quarterback. But justin Fieldton
- 43:51Speaker 3: there your MVP, I mean, but he's not getting the
- 43:54Speaker 3: opportunities to be MVP.
- 43:57Speaker 2: He because Russell won all those games until the end
- 43:59Speaker 2: of the season.
- 44:00Speaker 3: And like we talked, but it got harder and was
- 44:05Speaker 3: almost dry.
- 44:06Speaker 2: No you were I mean I said nine wins. I
- 44:08Speaker 2: said nine wins.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Yeah, and I had I think I had said and they.
- 44:11Speaker 2: Pulled out a weird Jets win because the Jets were
- 44:13Speaker 2: just abysmal.
- 44:15Speaker 3: They had eight and a half and everyone had I
- 44:17Speaker 3: had them at eight and they won ten.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Yes, and I had him at nine. Yes. Oh wait,
- 44:23Speaker 2: he hear me.
- 44:23Speaker 3: Go.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Let me get this sheet, the sheet, the sheet Kenny
- 44:29Speaker 2: had Pittsburgh at eight wins.
- 44:31Speaker 5: I had him at nine wins.
- 44:32Speaker 3: I'm not disagreeing with the the they came Okay, so
- 44:36Speaker 3: they came in were you're talking about the hardest schedule,
- 44:38Speaker 3: the schedule things the schedule.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Right at the end, they came in with the three.
- 44:42Speaker 2: They came in the season at number three, and from
- 44:45Speaker 2: what I could, I mean when I could gather on
- 44:50Speaker 2: the internet, they ended with the number ten. It's gonna
- 44:53Speaker 2: end up being the number ten hardest schedule. Whereas the
- 44:57Speaker 2: funny thing was is the shift?
- 44:59Speaker 4: What did I miss?
- 45:00Speaker 3: I think I missed the Washington.
- 45:02Speaker 2: Game, the Jets game and the Washington okay, and they
- 45:06Speaker 2: beat the Jets pretty easily, and obviously the Jets, and
- 45:08Speaker 2: I had them losing the Jets game, okay, And.
- 45:12Speaker 3: But we had the first white see we were.
- 45:15Speaker 2: First time of the season. We were correct, and.
- 45:17Speaker 4: We probably got most of the right at it.
- 45:20Speaker 5: I'd have to go look at it's actually but I
- 45:22Speaker 5: had to look at it.
- 45:24Speaker 3: No, I just I think they play a really good defense,
- 45:27Speaker 3: and I think that I think they're probably the worst
- 45:30Speaker 3: ten and seventeam I've ever seen in my life.
- 45:32Speaker 2: I've got did you not see the Chiefs?
- 45:35Speaker 3: No, they only have one loss. I'm gonna go, I'm
- 45:38Speaker 3: gonna did they they have lost it?
- 45:40Speaker 2: Denver thirty?
- 45:41Speaker 4: Oh that's right, I don't count that one.
- 45:43Speaker 3: Twenty seven to seventeen, Steelers actually keep it close, they
- 45:47Speaker 3: get a late score.
- 45:48Speaker 4: So twenty seven to seventeen, what do you got.
- 45:51Speaker 2: I'm gonna go with a twenty seven to twenty.
- 45:56Speaker 3: Closer twenty Yeah.
- 46:01Speaker 2: I like that missed I like that missed extra point.
- 46:03Speaker 2: I like, I like. I think I really like a
- 46:06Speaker 2: mixed I think.
- 46:07Speaker 3: Derrick Henry really runs on him. Then pretty good.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Just well, Lamar, just to keep you and Henry are
- 46:14Speaker 2: both going to to show their wills and their their
- 46:20Speaker 2: ability to get free.
- 46:22Speaker 3: Nine and a half is what Vegas Insider's got. Same
- 46:25Speaker 3: for would you lay money on that game and go
- 46:31Speaker 3: Ravens because it's right there at that line and you've
- 46:37Speaker 3: got him ten, So I guess we would. All right,
- 46:42Speaker 3: what is up next?
- 46:43Speaker 2: What is up next? The Sunday, the the twelfth.
- 46:47Speaker 3: Oh, we've got three games that day on a fun field. Oh,
- 46:51Speaker 3: I just it's gonna be so good, so good.
- 46:54Speaker 2: You know what, Let's start with your late game. Now,
- 46:57Speaker 2: that's no, Let's start with I'm gonna I'm gonna run,
- 46:59Speaker 2: I gotta run. I'll be right back. Let's start with
- 47:02Speaker 2: your commander's buccaneers. I know that you're just gonna drone on.
- 47:08Speaker 3: Do you want me to talk about the town? I know,
- 47:12Speaker 3: so you've gotta you've got you've got to make an exit. Okay,
- 47:16Speaker 3: So and I don't have any special surprise. No, I
- 47:22Speaker 3: think up. I think that obviously ten and seven Buccaneers
- 47:26Speaker 3: won the division. Uh, they did outlast the No, they
- 47:33Speaker 3: did out Acelanta at Ascelanta.
- 47:36Speaker 4: I like that.
- 47:37Speaker 3: They did outlast Atlanta for the division the South Division.
- 47:41Speaker 3: Atlanta obviously went overtime lost against the Panthers. Now Buccaneers
- 47:45Speaker 3: last Sunday played the Saints, and uh pretty much pissed
- 47:49Speaker 3: that game away the whole time until well they want
- 47:52Speaker 3: it in the end. That final on that game was
- 47:57Speaker 3: I pulled up the actual to Washington, let me hold on,
- 48:00Speaker 3: let's suck. I'll pull up that because that was Saints
- 48:04Speaker 3: that we wanted to talk about this last game because
- 48:07Speaker 3: at one point it was thirteen to three, all they
- 48:09Speaker 3: had to do was win and they're in and was
- 48:12Speaker 3: kind of blowing that game. Obviously, that was a big
- 48:14Speaker 3: game for Mike Evans needed eighty something yards to be
- 48:16Speaker 3: the to get eleven straight thousand yard receptions for a
- 48:21Speaker 3: wide receiver to start his career.
- 48:22Speaker 4: He did actually get that. It's a huge play of
- 48:26Speaker 4: the game.
- 48:26Speaker 3: They were up by eight at the end, and so
- 48:28Speaker 3: you're thinking the whole time, do not throw a pick.
- 48:30Speaker 3: Do not throw a pick. Do not throw a pick.
- 48:32Speaker 3: He didn't got him nine yards when he needed four
- 48:34Speaker 3: or five. I think Baker Mayfield had another impressive game,
- 48:39Speaker 3: twenty one to thirty two, twenty one to two touchdowns,
- 48:41Speaker 3: one interception, had some big runs, Bucky Irvin actually leading
- 48:45Speaker 3: rusher nineteen to eighty nine. And I thought that at
- 48:49Speaker 3: the beginning of that game, they just came out really
- 48:51Speaker 3: flat Saints and rattler, you know, like I said, controlled
- 48:55Speaker 3: that game was up thirteen to three one time. Then
- 48:58Speaker 3: I think they got a field goal. And you're sitting
- 49:00Speaker 3: there and you're watching at the same time as Atlanta.
- 49:03Speaker 3: Uh it's at Atlanta playing Carolina, and I'm watching that game.
- 49:09Speaker 3: You couldn't get you couldn't get Tampa around here. So
- 49:12Speaker 3: I'm watching the Atlanta game and and yeah, we're gonna wet.
- 49:17Speaker 3: We're not gonna talk tonight about the surprising teams, but
- 49:20Speaker 3: I'm not gonna put Carolina in a surprising team. Carolina
- 49:24Speaker 3: looked better as that season went on. They were a
- 49:28Speaker 3: tougher end and they beat Atlanta. Uh and in Peenis.
- 49:32Speaker 5: They won games that they were not exactly right.
- 49:34Speaker 2: But no, I mean a quick update, Oh, you've just
- 49:37Speaker 2: lost in basketball.
- 49:40Speaker 4: That's a horrible loss.
- 49:41Speaker 3: When they were up by fifteen or sixteen, that is
- 49:43Speaker 3: a horrible, horrible loss.
- 49:46Speaker 2: They just lost that game.
- 49:47Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a bad loss because after halftime. Yeah, see,
- 49:54Speaker 3: they were out scored by eleven in the second half,
- 49:57Speaker 3: and when we left here with about sixteen start, it
- 50:00Speaker 3: was that by fifteen was at one point. That's a
- 50:04Speaker 3: bad loss. I mean, and and not to get off
- 50:07Speaker 3: on that, but you know they start at thirteen. No,
- 50:09Speaker 3: that's two losses in conference. I mean, Porter Bocher's gotta
- 50:11Speaker 3: get that straight together and win these big games down
- 50:15Speaker 3: the stretch. It's just bad.
- 50:18Speaker 2: Give me the Alabama game they should have won.
- 50:20Speaker 4: But this game, this game they should have won. They
- 50:22Speaker 4: should go to Washington.
- 50:23Speaker 2: Uh No, there's an interesting stats coming into this game
- 50:27Speaker 2: is Washington is in the top five for past defense,
- 50:32Speaker 2: but in the bottom for rush defense, and Tampa Bay
- 50:36Speaker 2: is the exact opposite. Yeah.
- 50:41Speaker 3: Yeah, Tampa's defense has been suspect, but.
- 50:46Speaker 2: I kind of expected todd Balls to be fired, But no,
- 50:49Speaker 2: I don't think that. I don't think it's gonna happen now.
- 50:52Speaker 3: Rumor was Leam Cohen was going to be the coach
- 50:54Speaker 3: in waiting, and they're still going to have to do
- 50:56Speaker 3: that to figure out what they're going to do.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Another way, not Todd Bowles to have a bad game,
- 51:02Speaker 2: but big and the boys have just been playing really well.
- 51:06Speaker 3: Yes, and they haven't and not he should be probably
- 51:09Speaker 3: top five MVP.
- 51:13Speaker 2: Well, coming into this game, you have and then you, Daniels,
- 51:16Speaker 2: the year you have, well, you have Tampa Bay coming
- 51:20Speaker 2: in with a seasoned quarterback who has been to the
- 51:22Speaker 2: playoffs once. Uh. Season wide receivers well, season wide receiver
- 51:33Speaker 2: one one. Uh, you still have a suspect o line
- 51:41Speaker 2: better though much better.
- 51:42Speaker 5: But yeah, much much improved.
- 51:44Speaker 2: But then you come in with the Commanders, who has
- 51:46Speaker 2: a seasoned coach who has been to the playoffs, a
- 51:50Speaker 2: rookie quarterback, and literally, like I would say, pretty much
- 51:56Speaker 2: a rookie team that has never been to the playoffs.
- 51:58Speaker 3: They I think that's why I'm anying Buccaneers a little
- 52:01Speaker 3: bit here because I like the running game for the Bucks.
- 52:04Speaker 3: I like the old line, especially Worfs. He's a future
- 52:07Speaker 3: Hall of Fame tackle. And then you got Mike Evis McMillan,
- 52:12Speaker 3: the rookie out of Washington has played extremely. Like I said,
- 52:15Speaker 3: I've already mentioned Buckie over In, the rookie out of
- 52:16Speaker 3: Oregon was two great draft pick.
- 52:18Speaker 5: But Washington has some sleepers.
- 52:20Speaker 3: They do, they do. I mean McLaurin is is are.
- 52:24Speaker 3: Their running backs are way way underrated. I just think
- 52:28Speaker 3: you get a rookie court. Now here's the deal. What
- 52:30Speaker 3: quarterback doesn't make mistakes is probably.
- 52:33Speaker 4: Going to be the team that wins.
- 52:34Speaker 3: And we've seen Baker, I mean, you know, he's thrown
- 52:37Speaker 3: sixteen picks this year over forty one touchdowns. And I
- 52:40Speaker 3: thought Jaylen Daniels his first half against Dallas wasn't the greatest,
- 52:44Speaker 3: but it was kind of one of those deals. I
- 52:45Speaker 3: don't know how much they were really putting emphasis on that.
- 52:48Speaker 2: This is why I'm to come down.
- 52:50Speaker 4: I think it's going to be the mistakes.
- 52:52Speaker 2: It's going to be whoever has the ball last.
- 52:54Speaker 3: That are the mistakes is mine.
- 52:55Speaker 2: But whoever has the ball last twenty four to twenty
- 52:57Speaker 2: three Washington.
- 52:58Speaker 3: Twenty four twenty three Washington, I'm gonna go.
- 53:03Speaker 2: I just say it's gonna be a fun game. It's
- 53:04Speaker 2: gonna be one of the funner games to watch.
- 53:06Speaker 4: And I'm close to that.
- 53:07Speaker 3: I'm gonna go twenty seven, twenty four, Tampa.
- 53:09Speaker 2: We're gonna jump up to the the noon game now, because.
- 53:14Speaker 3: Give me real quick hot back down, there was that
- 53:16Speaker 3: a three point spread.
- 53:17Speaker 2: So yes, what did I pick? I picked them one
- 53:20Speaker 2: point and I got three push, So we go back
- 53:25Speaker 2: to the noon game.
- 53:26Speaker 5: The Denver Broncos, the.
- 53:28Speaker 2: New kids on the block, as long as you're just
- 53:30Speaker 2: like Washing commanders coming against the old hand of the Bills,
- 53:36Speaker 2: the streaking Buffalo Bills. Would you say the the if
- 53:43Speaker 2: we picked them so many times, We've picked them so
- 53:46Speaker 2: many times to go to the super Bowl. We've picked
- 53:49Speaker 2: them so many times to go to the super Bowl,
- 53:51Speaker 2: and the Bills and let us down.
- 53:54Speaker 5: And either the Semis or the Final.
- 53:57Speaker 3: I'm gonna kind of lean the same on this one.
- 54:00Speaker 3: The Bills are an eight and a half point favorite.
- 54:02Speaker 3: I think that's a little hot, but they're huge, and
- 54:06Speaker 3: oh they play so much better at home, and so
- 54:08Speaker 3: they do have then the home game, it's gonna be cold,
- 54:11Speaker 3: which is not going to bother you know, Denver.
- 54:15Speaker 4: As much as some of the other teams.
- 54:17Speaker 2: Would I think the defense is the big difference in this.
- 54:20Speaker 2: I think the Bills defense and.
- 54:21Speaker 3: See and I do and I and is that a
- 54:25Speaker 3: good thing or a bad thing? I really I lean
- 54:27Speaker 3: for this game is a good thing. I really lean
- 54:30Speaker 3: back to what I said just about the previous game
- 54:32Speaker 3: of Tampa. I'm gonna take the season quarterback over the rookie,
- 54:37Speaker 3: and I like the Bills here. I think it's a closer.
- 54:41Speaker 3: I think it's closer than what my score indicates. I'm
- 54:45Speaker 3: going to go forty to twenty four.
- 54:48Speaker 2: Oh man, that's that's kind of where I'm gonna take
- 54:52Speaker 2: a thirty eight thirty eight to seventeen.
- 54:56Speaker 3: But I think I like who knows so the Broncos
- 54:59Speaker 3: from no I think I think Sean Payton should be
- 55:02Speaker 3: right up there with Coach of the Year. It's probably
- 55:04Speaker 3: gonna go to either Dan Campbell or it's gonna go
- 55:08Speaker 3: to who am I missing? That's just really now, it's
- 55:13Speaker 3: not gonna be him, O'Connell, O'Connell from the Vikings. It's
- 55:18Speaker 3: gonna be probably one of them two. But Sean Payton
- 55:21Speaker 3: should be right there. And I think Bo Nicks if
- 55:23Speaker 3: it wasn't for some of these other rookies, he'd be
- 55:27Speaker 3: right there in Rookie of the Year talk, you know,
- 55:29Speaker 3: because he's he's had he's had a hell of a
- 55:32Speaker 3: hell of a run.
- 55:34Speaker 2: The three thirty game on uh Saturday Sunday where it
- 55:43Speaker 2: was Sunday, my old man brain kicked in Green Bay
- 55:46Speaker 2: is going to Philadelphia. They they have lost their leading receiver,
- 55:53Speaker 2: Christian Watson. I don't know if Love is gonna play.
- 55:56Speaker 2: I haven't seen anything on him.
- 55:57Speaker 3: Looks like he's gonna play, looks.
- 55:59Speaker 5: Like he okay. Is Jalen Hurts playing?
- 56:03Speaker 4: Yes, Oh, he's practicing.
- 56:05Speaker 3: So he's been out so he worked the rest off,
- 56:07Speaker 3: which is odd a little bit that might hurt you.
- 56:10Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 56:10Speaker 2: You have the the offensive. I would say Barkley should
- 56:16Speaker 2: did the MVP for everything that he did and the
- 56:18Speaker 2: fact that he got held out for that game.
- 56:21Speaker 3: Which he chose to. Well, no, they didn't make him,
- 56:25Speaker 3: he chose to.
- 56:26Speaker 2: So I don't see why I say Barkley shouldn't be
- 56:29Speaker 2: the MVP. I would put him second for everything that
- 56:32Speaker 2: he's done. I know that I think Jos a lot.
- 56:36Speaker 2: I think you have two really good receivers on that team.
- 56:38Speaker 2: I think you have a quarterback that's mobile and can
- 56:40Speaker 2: run too, so that helps your running game.
- 56:43Speaker 3: I'm not saying it deadn't but Josh. But you know,
- 56:46Speaker 3: James Cook is very mediocre compared to Sakwon Barkley. I'm
- 56:50Speaker 3: not saying he's mediocre compared to the league, but to him,
- 56:52Speaker 3: he is. I think you got Mamari Cooper, which is
- 56:56Speaker 3: a nice pick up, but otherwise you ain't got any
- 56:59Speaker 3: You ain't got the stars like they do. I think
- 57:01Speaker 3: the talent.
- 57:01Speaker 2: Josh Jacobs has been having, I think very good. I
- 57:04Speaker 2: think who the Packers running back Josh Jacobs.
- 57:08Speaker 3: No, I'm talking about the camp. I'm talking about the Yeah,
- 57:11Speaker 3: I agree, I'm talking about m v P talk. Yes,
- 57:13Speaker 3: yeh yeah, That's why I think Josh. I think that's
- 57:16Speaker 3: why Josh Allen gets it, because his surrounding cast is
- 57:21Speaker 3: not near as good.
- 57:22Speaker 4: Is what Jalen rts.
- 57:24Speaker 2: Somebody asked a question earlier about besides Josh Allen, who
- 57:28Speaker 2: else on that team really stands out.
- 57:30Speaker 3: And may played well?
- 57:33Speaker 2: And I was like, well, K, you know, okay, but
- 57:36Speaker 2: I mean I mean that they had without it, But
- 57:38Speaker 2: I mean Themith and A. J.
- 57:41Speaker 4: Brown over him.
- 57:42Speaker 5: No, yeah, have you looked at Josh Allen.
- 57:46Speaker 2: Josh Allens. I mean those Allen fell off with those
- 57:49Speaker 2: wide receivers.
- 57:50Speaker 3: Those wide receivers on the Eagles don't get the love
- 57:53Speaker 3: and the in the stats because they got a quarterback
- 57:56Speaker 3: that throws worth the fuck Oh did I roll that in.
- 58:01Speaker 3: I'm just saying numbers look better throwing wise when he
- 58:06Speaker 3: was in and probably should have picked them up in
- 58:08Speaker 3: fantasy quarterback.
- 58:09Speaker 5: But anyway, any of them throwing the ball right into
- 58:13Speaker 5: the ground.
- 58:14Speaker 4: Yeah, that incompletion was bad.
- 58:15Speaker 2: But anyway you were like, no.
- 58:18Speaker 5: No he got touchdown.
- 58:19Speaker 3: No he didn't, he.
- 58:20Speaker 5: Didn't get touched at all.
- 58:21Speaker 2: He threw it right.
- 58:22Speaker 3: No. I think the it's it's good though the the Eagles.
- 58:26Speaker 3: I got the Eagles and they still want to fire.
- 58:28Speaker 3: I think I think there's some problems the end of
- 58:31Speaker 3: the playoffs repeated, there's drama in Tara super Bowl, there's drama,
- 58:35Speaker 3: and they still want to fire.
- 58:36Speaker 4: Cereal, there's drama inside.
- 58:37Speaker 3: But I mean, don't you think the Eagles are pretty
- 58:39Speaker 3: probably one of the most I mean, they're obviously the
- 58:41Speaker 3: most talented team.
- 58:41Speaker 4: And then if the East, oh and.
- 58:43Speaker 5: The Fiago's defense has has.
- 58:45Speaker 3: Much better, they've looked day.
- 58:47Speaker 5: Yeah, turned a lot of shitty players.
- 58:49Speaker 3: If I'm picking the Eagles in a close when I
- 58:50Speaker 3: think the Packers scored late thirty one twenty eight, I
- 58:53Speaker 3: like the Eagles, oh that. I like the Eagles just
- 58:56Speaker 3: to maintain the clock. And I think the Packers, like
- 58:58Speaker 3: I told you earlier, along with the Steelers, are the
- 59:00Speaker 3: two teams that are coming in playing just the worst
- 59:03Speaker 3: football right now, coming into the playoffs.
- 59:06Speaker 5: And lost to the Piers and love was hurt.
- 59:09Speaker 3: But oh coffee and coffee. What do we got? What
- 59:13Speaker 3: was the spread?
- 59:14Speaker 2: Four and a half? Four and a half A.
- 59:17Speaker 3: God, if I put money on that, I'd probably still
- 59:19Speaker 3: take the Eagles and added a couple of points to that.
- 59:22Speaker 3: And then we got the is this.
- 59:24Speaker 2: The big Monday? Okay, so this right here, seven pm Monday,
- 59:29Speaker 2: the judge, the January tham, Minnesota is only favored by one.
- 59:34Speaker 2: What this is is this is a trap game. This
- 59:38Speaker 2: is a trap game with them going in too so far,
- 59:42Speaker 2: which it may or may not be in so far
- 59:44Speaker 2: depending on the wildfires.
- 59:45Speaker 3: Now right now that NFL says not right now, because
- 59:49Speaker 3: the game is Wednesday night, the game is there, but
- 59:53Speaker 3: it could possibly change to Arizona.
- 59:56Speaker 4: Yes, that's the altar.
- 59:57Speaker 2: They would take it.
- 59:57Speaker 5: The al spot is going to Arizona Stadium.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: But we saw Detroit go into LA and I believe
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: Minnesota went into LA too, and they both lost there.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: Did they not.
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: Say that again? Are you talking about the Rams?
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: The Yeah, both the Vikings and and UH.
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: And Detroit went into l A and lost.
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: I mean, you've got to look at the Rams right now.
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: It is playing one of the better I mean, they're
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: playing some of the best football. Obviously, the Bills lost
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: because that was that high scoring affair if.
- 1:00:27Speaker 2: You remember, but is a dangerous, dangerous trap as.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: The season went on, you know, No, they barely beat
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: the Cardinals. I mean the Vikings did lose at the Rams.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: Yes, okay, so they beat they beat Detroit and they
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: beat Minnesota in LA.
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: Where do you see that Detroit game?
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: Man?
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: Did I miss it?
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: There should have been I don't think.
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: Yeah, they would have had to have played then, Yeah,
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: they had to play.
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: Is it early?
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: Let's see the note is no? No, okay? So the Rams?
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: Uh how that was the first game of the year. Okay, okay,
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: so that was six six and overtime. They lost. The
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: Rams did lose.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: Yeah, because we two killed them. Yeah, and that's what
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: he thought.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: Okay, so the Vikings have all okay, so here, So
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: the Vikings have already gone into l A once and lost.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: But the Bears, the Bears beat them. Of course that
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: was at home. The Packers beat him.
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm saying to look at so funny, look at
- 1:01:23Speaker 5: look at.
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: The Dolphins beat him because.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: The Bills went there. The Bills went to LA.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: The Dolphins beat him at home.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: Though.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: I mean, so it's two of the top team and
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: I just I like the Vikings here. I really think
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: the Vikings make a bounce back, and I think how
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: they do it is that defense, that defensive line that
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: the Vikings has. You know, everyone's talking about Kevin O'Connell,
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: Sam Donald's the comeback player of the year. I don't
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: think he is, because I think it has to be
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: injury related now.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: But LA has l A has taken a lot of rookies,
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: remember they lost Aaron Donald, and they have taken those rookies,
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: and those rookies are doing very well in the defense,
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: and they have they have come along as the season
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: has developed.
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: I don't think it's a game here. I think I
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: think Vikings really win big here. I've got them thirty
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: eight twenty four.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: I'm going I'm going twenty twenty three to twenty one.
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: Who rammed with the upset and the reason why.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: I say that if it's in so far, if it's
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: not in so far, then that it could be it
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: could be different.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: You go back to an alternate, you go back to
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: not an alternate. What do you call it?
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: As the word alternate? No, it's an alternate, But what
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: do you call it?
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: It's when it's two sites, that it's a site that's
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: neither one of your home field and it's called a
- 1:02:35Speaker 3: what why am I missing this word? No, they're going
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: to an alternate site. But you call it when you
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: go to an equal home placed? What is this called? Neutral? Neutral?
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Neutral?
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: Is the word neutralize?
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: Me?
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: Now?
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: And I'm out.
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: Are turning into your hands.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: So there's our one difference right there. We picked all
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: the same ones besides that, so but like.
- 1:03:03Speaker 2: I said, that is, if it's in so far, if
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: it's not in so far, the Vikings the advantage I
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: still give you.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: I still give the Vikings advantage because I think they're
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: going to be hungry after that last game against the
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: Detroit Lions.
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: Detroit beat the ship out of them.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: Excuse me, I don't think there was I mean that
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: game was nothing.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: We watched that game and our surprise on our faces
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: were what in the hell is going on here? Yeah?
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: It was just and I thought Sam Darnold looked like Minnesota.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: Minnesota played a very good, complete game. They just could
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: not get into.
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: The verse score when they got in the red zone.
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: Yes, it could not put it away when they needed to.
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: And like you remember what it was a close game,
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: wasn't it up unto up and up, unto up and
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: two up into Yeah, so yeah, we're looking at a
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: ten to six ball game going into the second and
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: a half.
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: Yeah, and then it's well, I mean it's still nine
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: to twenty or seventeen going into the fourth, and then
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: they give up the two late scores.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: Yeah, and then Jamia Gibbs just taking it away because
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: those were his time was thirteen.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: I'm sorry, nine to thirteen. Why are you missing the
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: math here?
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: What do you saying learned at thirteen? That's fourteen?
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: Sorry, it was seventeen, seventeen, seventeen to nine.
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: I mean you're still you're still within for sure?
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: School for sure, sure you're still there.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: And then Gibbs just I'd like to take credit for
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: drafting him last year as a rookie in my fantasy
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: that no one had ever heard of Gibbs.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: And then bitching that Montgomery got all the rushes.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: And Montgomery's hurt. But that's another thing, speaking of still
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: he's coming back. Looks like he's going to practice, so
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: I heard, so I think he's going to be back,
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: So which is good, not for because no one's playing fantasy,
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: but anyway, anything else. So on the home front, we
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: want to talk about coaches.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: We we we uh, we were gonna do a little
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: bit of coach.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: Uh basketball games. Thunder lost the night too cool.
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: I believe you. I believe you and your hypocrisy. Now
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: we were gonna talk about coaches because right now, Uh,
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: Antonio Piers just got fired today.
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: Cool as he should for what.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: For one season and not having a good quarterback.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: Listen, I'm gonna tell you something, Okay, I just put
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: some knowledge on us. No. I mean, I think some
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: of these interim coaches, they win a few games and
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: the owner feels like all the players want them.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: We don't do it in an interim coach like.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: Gerardo, I mean, why why hire why.
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: Jared Mount dude? Robert Craft came out and was giving
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: him the biggest praise. Even when he fired him, he
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: gave him the biggest praise.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: Yeah, but that's a backwards pat on the back.
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: It is.
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: It really is horseshit. It's like, hey, I didn't give
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: you a good team, but I think you're great.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: But Antonio Pears. Antonio Peers lost his best running back
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: and was given no quarterback.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: I'm not saying he was O'Connell. I'm not saying he
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: was a bad coach. I'm just saying he was never
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: going to work out there.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: But at least two years give him a quarterback. The
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: guy never had a quarterback and he should have been
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: fired a long time ago. But when he was fired,
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: all of a sudden, the team's defense went to crap.
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: I guess we rarely get fired to so Sala.
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: Sala's teams was in Sali got fired and their team
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: went to crap. Uh. Dennis Allen fired.
- 1:06:33Speaker 3: Good quarterback, not a good head coach, I mean good coordinator,
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: not quarterback coordinators.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: What I should have said, You're still the Derek Corch right.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: Derek Carr had one of his best seasons under John Gruden.
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: Why is that one interviewing him?
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: Gruden? Yeah, that emails ship.
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: I know, but I mean who cares? I mean, well,
- 1:06:55Speaker 3: hold on because the commissioners it. You look at the
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: players that's in the league. They'll fucking drag their girl
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: pregnant girlfriends downstairs or beat the funk out of them.
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: They're still playing. You got a guy that's.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: Gonna get me some opinions on that, and I'm able
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: to beat women that they're not even in with. I'm
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: just saying, remember the Kareem Hunt, Don't give hut was
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: a random girl. Don't give me this whole beat a.
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: Random girl in the hallway in Cleveland.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: Ben Johnson obviously is the hot figure. Detroit's offensive coordinator
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: Brian Flores, I noticed is getting some jobs. Pete Carroll
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: or I'm sorry interviews Pete Carroll. We'd like to thank
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: the Patriots for the.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: Dallas Cowboys thankfully Chicago and I went christ. I still
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: say it's Kings Murray.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: Has he even interviewed yet?
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: No, No, he's playing.
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: It's Ben Johnson. He's gonna get he's gonna get.
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: Well. I don't think Ben Johnson's able to interview right
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: now because.
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: He already interviewed. He's on the bye week, he's already interviewed.
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: And with the Patriots, it's like, what job would you take? Okay, so,
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: and that's possible. Maybe he just hasn't had the I
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: take the Patriots job over the Bears. Why more stable owners,
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: more stable owners, better quarterback prospect. I'll get the defenses,
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: better divisions easier. No, it's not divisions easier to win in.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: That's a few of those things.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: Look at you.
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: I'm just saying, that's why I take it.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: Do you think there's any college coaches that might jump?
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: Do you think Franklin.
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: Matt Campbell interviewed for the Bears job? But I think
- 1:08:43Speaker 3: the Bears are just interviewing nine hundred people.
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: Yeah, they're just going through.
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: Do you think Franklin might No.
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: He's a college guy, you think, yeah.
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: I think Matt Campbell is a college guy too. He
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: wants to be an NFL head coach so bad he
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: can taste it. But that's why he's not left Iowa
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: State yet, because you know, you just can't get that.
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: No college coaches right now. Kirby Smart I might have
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: thought would have some interest Sarkisian has name has got
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: brought up a little bit on some possible radar. Would
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: him because he had been but he had been in
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: the NFL a little.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: Bit I wouldn't trust.
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: So Kyle Shanahan did hire Clay Kubeck.
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: I can't imagine he's not Clint kub x D still
- 1:09:30Speaker 3: going to call the place.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: Yeah, but he was a defensive coordinator offensive. No, I'm
- 1:09:37Speaker 2: saying Shanahan needs a defensive coordinator.
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: And then I don't know why, oh ship, and then
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: it says also forty nine Ers confirmed Dave that Niners
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: are working to retain former defensive coordinator Nick Swordson in
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: another role.
- 1:09:50Speaker 4: Don't know what that means because he was the DC.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: He'd also be interested in interviewing former Chargers hedge coach
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: Brandon Staley.
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: Was a good he was a good coordinator. I guess
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: he horrible decisions. So oh yeah, Spangola, Yeah, he's probably
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: He's got two interviews.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: He's probably the best guy that should get hired. To
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: be honest, was a head coach.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: He's just old, but he wasn't head coach, and I
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: thought I thought that he was coming back in saying
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: that he did not want to do it anymore. I
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: thought his whole thing was he's done being a head coach.
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: Mhm, I think he. I think I think he would.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: I mean, there's only thirty two of those bad boys, right,
- 1:10:34Speaker 3: you know what I mean?
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: Does he look like he's crying?
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: This is what he will be?
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: Hey, the Tomlin dial is just one of those deals that, Yeah,
- 1:10:43Speaker 3: consistently being eight and eight, winning maybe a playoff game
- 1:10:46Speaker 3: every three years is great. The cool I mean, if
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: that's what you want, you want to have. I think
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: the Steelers are more about having just three coaches in
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: sixty years more than winning at all.
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what it seems like.
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: Well, because I always bring that up, cares exactly.
- 1:11:01Speaker 5: Not a losing record, Okay, and we've got to think that.
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: You remember Tom Brady.
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: He ain't coming back.
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: No, he ain't.
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: He ain't leaving the car.
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: I'm not talking about talking about Oh yeah, I'm talking
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: about I'm talking about Yeah, what is his involvement in that?
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: I mean, Mike Rabels should be the guy he's looking at,
- 1:11:19Speaker 3: but Patriots have already hired him.
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: They just had to announce it.
- 1:11:22Speaker 5: Yeah, you've been bringing rabel up from what.
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: Yeah, the Patriots have already hired him.
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: But Matt Maggie had a couple of interviews.
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: Yeah, just I don't get that either.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: Peterson's firing, so we've got the Jags are open.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: You know, it doesn't surprise that'd be the job I
- 1:11:38Speaker 3: wouldn't take. Yet, it's the easiest division to win in,
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: you know, because there's no real star quarters.
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: I said that.
- 1:11:45Speaker 3: I said, it's easier out of that in the in
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: the NFC North, I was comparing the Patriots and Bears.
- 1:11:51Speaker 3: I was not comparing every division. Obviously, the Jacksonville job
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: to win in is the easiest.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: Then we get this article and then black coaches being
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: fired after one season.
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: I thought ran Carthon getting fired as the GM was
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: pretty bad. I mean he had set them up pretty well. Yeah,
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: it was an odd one.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: I don't know what Jared Mail didn't give a second.
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: Year because they had Mike, Mike Mike.
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: I mean that's you know. They they interviewed Pep Hamilton
- 1:12:21Speaker 3: and Byron Leftwich the Patriots did. I was like, come on, neither,
- 1:12:26Speaker 3: what's Pep doing. Wasn't he doing some UFL shit or
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: some ship And I know Byron left, which I didn't
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: even coach in the league last year after he got
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: fired from UH Tampa.
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: It's like, I'm you know why.
- 1:12:38Speaker 3: They got interviewed.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: Leave it at that, all, right, then we've got why
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: Jordan rieda cam Ward overshar Saiters. I think we all
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: know that. That answer.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: Well, I don't think it's a wrong answer, to be honest, No,
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: I just.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: I wouldn't take either one in the first I.
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: Totally agree with that trade your pick Tennessee. I know
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: you need a quarterback. What you need to do. Here's
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: if I was a Tennessee fan. As we leave this
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: as our pre draft mixer till April when it happens
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: at talk to Atlanta about Kirk Cousins and see how
- 1:13:22Speaker 3: much they'll pay out of that contract to take him
- 1:13:26Speaker 3: off your hands.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: This is hilarious, the most hilarious thing. Everybody looked at.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: Why are they taking Poenix? We all knew, well, because
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: you had Jay Cutler two point zero.
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: Well, and you couldn't leave Phoenix there.
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: He was good. We all said he was.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Him being on the board that late, I.
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: Mean I thought he was better. Nix and Nicks went
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: after obviously, but still Nixons impressed me for sure, but no,
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: I mean quarterback. And then you know I thought, I think,
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: and he's not.
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: Gonna be a starter.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: But I thought Mariota played well in a backup role.
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: I thought Cooper Rush, I think he probably played well.
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: I thought I thought had some good passes. You know,
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: Cooper Rush Trey Lance for the Cowboys is are local flare?
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: You know they though both those are free agents, no
- 1:14:08Speaker 3: contracts to go. But you know, if I was Tennessee,
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: I would trade that first pick, not for Kirk Cousins,
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: but see what you can get for Kirk Cousins on
- 1:14:17Speaker 3: the Tennessee.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: No, they might have to take contract if they do that.
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: No, I'm saying, how much will that land and done.
- 1:14:29Speaker 2: On Watson's up?
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: Well, look how much? No, but no, look how much you.
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: Can get that piece of garbage for.
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: But look how much Denver had to pay to ship
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: Russell Wilson to Pittsburgh. You know they paid most of
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: that contract. See what Atlanta will pay and just get
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: a quarterback on fridge. If you can't do that, don't
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: draft these quarterbacks. But there is one good interesting thing
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: to talk about is all these quarterbacks that are in
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: the playoffs right now, our first round picks, most of them.
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: Are college football playoffs.
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: No in the NFL, the NFL, most of them I wanted.
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: But I wanted Jaydon Daniels or bow Knicks at the
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: Bears over Caleb Williams.
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: Oh for sure, hands down, And they I wouldn't say
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: Bo Nicks. I will not say I said that.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: Well, I was not talking about They keep talking about
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: his that his holding onto the ball and his ball control,
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: all that stuff, and how the coaches have let him down.
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: And I'm tired of hearing about how coaches have let
- 1:15:32Speaker 2: these quarterbacks down. And these quarterbacks aren't willing to change.
- 1:15:35Speaker 2: These quarterbacks aren't willing to understand that the NFL is
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: massively different than the n c A. A correct Your
- 1:15:42Speaker 2: D Lineman is running his fast as a line Just.
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: Because you're speedy, don't mean you can go outside and
- 1:15:48Speaker 3: beat everybody.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: But that D London is running his fast as a linebacker.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: You want to You don't want a guy that's run first,
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: a guy that can pass. Now, Cam Mood, I don't
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: know so much about it.
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: I need to watch more decision making.
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: Yes, I need to watch him, probably a little more
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: sugar Sanders, to me, just doesn't have the talent and he's.
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: He's a Chris. He's gonna go in as a Christy Simms.
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: Well, yeah, but Chris couldn't run the ball well, but.
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: He's going to go in as a Christy more like,
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: gonna make it like he's not an NFL quarter.
- 1:16:21Speaker 3: One guy that listed in that that worked actually in
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: the NFL a little bit, probably more than we compare
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: him to some of these guys is Mike Vick. We
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: never thought he was a good passer and he lasted
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: a long time in the NFL because he could run too.
- 1:16:34Speaker 3: But he was super fast. I don't know, and we'll
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: get into it later.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: He always loved Randall Cunning. Yeah, but he wasn't He
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: wasn't an accurate passer, but he was fast, but he
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: was still a better quick.
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: Never won really a bunch of big games either. So
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: all right, thank you all for joining us.
- 1:16:51Speaker 4: We'll see you next week big playoff talk.
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: We have National Championship for the college football play and
- 1:16:57Speaker 3: then we'll get past round one of the NFL out
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: so we'll talk about that too.
- 1:17:01Speaker 2: So we'll we'll be able to do Monday.
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: Yeah, Monday, Monday and Monday. Yeah, because aren't we going
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: to do our game? I thought we're gonna do a game.
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: We are, but hopefully we'll we're.
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: Gonna do a pod and Monday we're gonna do our
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: call our game and do a pod. That's what it seems.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: We can do. We can do the game on Sunday.
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: And then oh, that's right, that's right, the game is
- 1:17:21Speaker 3: on Sunday. Sorry, we'll do the We'll do the Tampa
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: game Sunday. All right, sounds good, Thank y'all. H
