- 0:49I thought I had it cited in
- 0:51Monday was optimistic and
- 0:52we have lost all hope lost
- 0:55all hope I went way right
- 0:58way right tonight so
- 1:01What's going on, Meredith, Jody,
- 1:04Train to Live, Terry, Barry, man,
- 1:08what's going on?
- 1:12So Barry, what is for lunch?
- 1:14So two nights ago,
- 1:16I got some shaved ribeye.
- 1:20And then I grilled some
- 1:21peppers and onions.
- 1:24And I made my own steak
- 1:26sandwich with some keto bread.
- 1:32And it is waiting for me to
- 1:34heat up in my panini press
- 1:37right after the show.
- 1:40Finding the shaved ribeye was like key.
- 1:44I cannot wait to sink my
- 1:45teeth into that again.
- 1:51It was so good.
- 1:52So good.
- 1:53Just seasoned with a little
- 1:54Worcestershire sauce,
- 1:56a little bit of liquid amino, garlic,
- 1:59salt, pepper, and it's perfect.
- 2:02It's perfect.
- 2:03It tastes like a Philly cheesesteak,
- 2:05only better.
- 2:06It just is freaking amazing.
- 2:11Barry says, ribeye is the best cut.
- 2:13Trained to live.
- 2:14That sounds delicious.
- 2:16It was perfect.
- 2:18Perfect.
- 2:21And then I got some fresh black cherries.
- 2:23I'm going to have a little bit of that.
- 2:25And then I have some fresh
- 2:25cut vegetables that I
- 2:26always add at the end of my lunch.
- 2:29So there we go.
- 2:35Whoops.
- 2:35Da Bears.
- 2:47Never heard of shaved ribeye.
- 2:50It must be new at the
- 2:52butcher counter at the
- 2:53grocery store here.
- 2:55We have a grocery store called Meijer,
- 2:57and they do this
- 3:00occasionally where they shave beef.
- 3:03and um and this time they
- 3:05were shaving ribeye and I
- 3:06was like well hell if they
- 3:08have ribeye I'm going with
- 3:09that and it I it could not
- 3:12it could not have been any
- 3:13better shaved ribeye
- 3:16grilled onions and peppers
- 3:18on a keto bun it was
- 3:20freaking awesome man a lot
- 3:23of people jumping in the
- 3:24chat today uh vicky loving
- 3:29I've been able to make this
- 3:30part of my lunchtime
- 3:30routine thank you scott
- 3:33Uh, Jeremy eats word Bajan.
- 3:35Cool.
- 3:35The bears are not, uh, I love Tyson Bajan,
- 3:39but I also love the bears.
- 3:40So I know you're a Wisconsin guy,
- 3:43so I'm assuming you're a
- 3:44Packer fan and God will
- 3:46forgive you for that.
- 3:48Um, so I vindicate,
- 3:52can't wait to get my Hattie shirts.
- 3:56All right, man.
- 3:58Twenty five dollars.
- 3:59No, no, it was it was nowhere near that.
- 4:03The shaved ribeye was, I want to say,
- 4:05probably like in the eight
- 4:06to nine dollar pound range.
- 4:14That means it's old,
- 4:15just like rotisserie chicken,
- 4:17and they try to get rid of it.
- 4:18Hey.
- 4:18Hey.
- 4:20Tasted good, Ken.
- 4:21That's all I got to say.
- 4:23And I don't have the
- 4:24equipment to shave it down
- 4:26like they do for the sandwich.
- 4:28So the one thing I forgot,
- 4:30I did put horseradish on it.
- 4:33Every time I have like steak,
- 4:35a dab of horseradish goes on that.
- 4:38Best condiment in the world.
- 4:41Most underrated condiment in the world.
- 4:45All right.
- 4:47So glad everybody is here.
- 4:49There's a lot going on, man,
- 4:54for being kind of three weeks out,
- 4:56two weeks out to the games.
- 4:58We've got a lot of news
- 4:59circling around the space.
- 5:04And if you guys,
- 5:07this seems to be the clue
- 5:08that everybody is jumping in on.
- 5:15This was posted on Dave
- 5:16Castro's Instagram last
- 5:20night or yesterday afternoon.
- 5:24It is just move.
- 5:25There's a little tag down here.
- 5:31Him and Jada Coons were in
- 5:33New York city yesterday.
- 5:36That is where Berkshire resides as well.
- 5:38They have an office in New York city and,
- 5:43It appears that they are in
- 5:45the final steps or stages
- 5:47of the sale of CrossFit.
- 5:51The circumstantial evidence
- 5:53is pointing to the B-Sport people,
- 5:59Malik and company, buying CrossFit.
- 6:04We don't have any official announcement.
- 6:06It's a lot of circumstantial
- 6:07stuff at this point.
- 6:10But it appears that CrossFit
- 6:12is on the verge of selling.
- 6:15When I was watching Siobhan
- 6:16and Matt talk about it last night,
- 6:18I made the comment that my
- 6:20bet is that there's an
- 6:21agreement in principle in place.
- 6:25And now they're trying to
- 6:26figure out the details of the money.
- 6:28And so money probably has
- 6:29not changed hands,
- 6:31but there is an agreement in principle,
- 6:33meaning that all other bids
- 6:35will be taken off the board for now.
- 6:37And they will work solely on
- 6:40this deal to try to bring it home.
- 6:43So my guess is that is where they're at.
- 6:46I heard Siobhan a little bit
- 6:47ago say there could be an
- 6:49announcement today.
- 6:52So I guess we'll be watching
- 6:54all the socials for that as
- 6:56we move forward.
- 6:59Um,
- 6:59of course he would have way more inside
- 7:01information than I do.
- 7:02Um,
- 7:04I just try to follow all the tea leaves.
- 7:07I know that last night he was saying that,
- 7:10uh,
- 7:11that he thinks that the new company
- 7:13will keep on Jay to Coons and, uh, Dave.
- 7:19And, and then I've watched Amanda Hari.
- 7:23She said she didn't think
- 7:25they would keep Dave on, uh,
- 7:29I talked about Dave being
- 7:30like so important to the
- 7:32current group of CrossFit
- 7:35headquarters because he was
- 7:37the scapegoat for everything.
- 7:39And if you remove him from their equation,
- 7:42then everything falls onto
- 7:43the CEO and the board of directors.
- 7:46And Dave has been the good
- 7:47soldier to kind of take all
- 7:48the slings and arrows that
- 7:50have been sent to him.
- 7:53Someone has to have some
- 7:54respect for someone that's
- 7:55willing to do that for the
- 7:56company they work for.
- 7:59And so if I'm an outsider coming in,
- 8:01looking at the situation
- 8:03and looking at what Dave
- 8:05did for the current group of CrossFit HQ,
- 8:10standing in front of all
- 8:11the bullets and the hate
- 8:14and taking all of that on
- 8:15while Don and the board of
- 8:17directors got off scot-free
- 8:19with everything that
- 8:20happened with Lazar's death
- 8:22and then after,
- 8:27that's someone I want on my team.
- 8:34If I am B-Sport and I am
- 8:37looking at what exists now,
- 8:42I want that guy who's
- 8:44willing to stand out there
- 8:46and take it all on and protect me.
- 9:04Um, Larry Young says, I don't see a good,
- 9:08I don't see a good reason
- 9:09to announce it before the games.
- 9:12Um, I, I am kind of in your camp, Larry.
- 9:20If I'm the new company, I don't want to,
- 9:23first of all,
- 9:24I am tired of people sitting
- 9:27in front of a microphone
- 9:29and a camera giving me half fans,
- 9:31half asked fluff answers.
- 9:34am sick of that I would
- 9:36rather have whoever the new
- 9:38owner is take some time get
- 9:41a plan in place and then
- 9:44tell me the full response
- 9:45as to what they want to do
- 9:47not some kind of half-assed
- 9:49word salad we've had enough
- 9:51of that for the last few
- 9:52years five years of that we
- 9:56don't need any more
- 9:59I think it would be more
- 10:00beneficial for them to buy it, sit back,
- 10:04take a look at what's going on,
- 10:06put a plan in place, who's staying,
- 10:08who's going, what are they going to do,
- 10:14and then make the announcement,
- 10:17here we are,
- 10:19and give us what's going to happen.
- 10:28trained to live,
- 10:29and Dave knows the ins and
- 10:30outs of running CrossFit
- 10:31sport unless they are
- 10:32trying to overhaul it completely.
- 10:34He also knows the ins and
- 10:35outs of the seminar staff,
- 10:38the seminars themselves.
- 10:40He has been over education
- 10:42for much of his tenure with CrossFit,
- 10:45and I think that is
- 10:45actually more important
- 10:47than his experience with the games.
- 10:56That
- 10:58That's what they need.
- 11:00The seminars, the L ones, the L twos,
- 11:03those are the moneymakers.
- 11:04Those are the things you're
- 11:05purchasing when you're
- 11:06buying this company.
- 11:08That's the expertise they need.
- 11:15Barry McOchner.
- 11:16Didn't they do that with Don?
- 11:17Wasn't he introduced before the games?
- 11:20Yes.
- 11:20They hired him as CEO right
- 11:22before the games.
- 11:23They introduced him at the games.
- 11:25And then we got this
- 11:26half-assed fluff BS from
- 11:29him instead of having a plan in place.
- 11:33Uh, Rosa bought the company and then,
- 11:36and it was around COVID.
- 11:39And so his whole focus was just get, um,
- 11:46just getting the games started,
- 11:49which should not have been
- 11:50the priority at that point in time.
- 11:52The priority should have
- 11:53been getting CrossFit
- 11:54stabilized during that era
- 11:56and the COVID time that's
- 11:58going on and not about
- 11:59putting on the games.
- 12:01And that became his focus,
- 12:03and that started to decline
- 12:04right from there.
- 12:11The Savant podcast, that's a great take.
- 12:12I hadn't thought of.
- 12:14He's great at taking public abuse.
- 12:16That's what he's been used
- 12:17for for the last nine months, Savant.
- 12:23He had to be given a
- 12:24directive from Don Fall and
- 12:26the board of directors when
- 12:27Lazar died to go out there
- 12:29and be the public face of everything.
- 12:31And then everybody just hated on him.
- 12:35And that's why the letter
- 12:35said fire Dave and not fire Don.
- 12:39or not fire the board of
- 12:40directors or sell the company.
- 12:43Everybody thinks Dave's
- 12:44responsible for everything.
- 12:47He's the director of the games.
- 12:49He's not the CEO.
- 12:50He's not the board of directors.
- 12:52And they got off scot-free
- 12:54in this whole thing because
- 12:56Dave took it all on.
- 13:04The more I sit back and look
- 13:05at this whole thing like,
- 13:07it's almost like Dave should
- 13:08be a hero for what he did
- 13:10for the company instead of vilified.
- 13:19Nobody's even looking behind the curtain.
- 13:22Everybody's just aiming
- 13:23their hate at Dave.
- 13:25When you were interviewing
- 13:26Ariel and she's talking
- 13:27about how Luca got put on,
- 13:31on the broadcast when he
- 13:32didn't want to be Dave,
- 13:34isn't the director of the broadcast.
- 13:37Yet they're blaming Dave for that.
- 13:43The people at CrossFit made
- 13:44him the scapegoat and he
- 13:46played the part well.
- 13:51And he's the only one to
- 13:53apologize for anything that
- 13:54happened last year.
- 14:05Yet you have all these
- 14:05haters coming after him
- 14:07when he was just a small
- 14:08part of the whole thing.
- 14:17It's insane.
- 14:20It's insane.
- 14:25So... I'm with you.
- 14:31Um...
- 14:33Larry,
- 14:33that I don't think they should do it now.
- 14:36I think that even if the purchase happens,
- 14:41they don't announce it
- 14:41until after the games are over.
- 14:53Doug Reed, all true.
- 14:54The weird part is that Don
- 14:55was who cut the game's
- 14:57budget yet received no venom.
- 15:03He is the CEO of the company.
- 15:06The final approval of
- 15:08everything that happens
- 15:09should go across his desk.
- 15:14And he got no venom.
- 15:31Jeremy eats world outrage.
- 15:33Culture found its way into the one place.
- 15:35You thought it wouldn't CrossFit.
- 15:49Barry McOchner.
- 15:50Have you ever,
- 15:51have you seen the three
- 15:51people who are Berkshire
- 15:53partners for CrossFit?
- 15:54They look like they have no
- 15:55idea what they're doing.
- 16:02Doug Reed, imagine if Dave was named CEO.
- 16:05I want to see B-Friend's
- 16:06face if that were to happen.
- 16:15I don't know.
- 16:16After watching what he did
- 16:18these last nine months,
- 16:20I think he's a viable option.
- 16:29Larry Young.
- 16:31What's funny,
- 16:32I'm guilty of complaining about Dave.
- 16:33Never for his character.
- 16:35Just want weights, twenty percent heavier.
- 16:37And I haven't changed for eighteen years.
- 16:43We all complain about Dave.
- 16:45That's been the character
- 16:46he's played since the whole
- 16:48thing started back in two thousand seven.
- 16:52He's the one that put us all
- 16:53through misery in the open.
- 16:55He's a...
- 16:57It's been that character,
- 16:58but things got serious when
- 17:00someone dies at the games.
- 17:03And it wasn't just a character anymore.
- 17:05It was,
- 17:07here's this guy that was a Navy
- 17:10SEAL for twelve years,
- 17:11and they gave him a mission
- 17:13to go out and take the heat.
- 17:17And he did.
- 17:18Because that's what they do.
- 17:22That's what they do.
- 17:27And he's done it for nine months.
- 17:38Andrew Stan,
- 17:38I wonder if they asked Dave to
- 17:39bear the brunt of the
- 17:40criticism or if he said he would do it.
- 17:43He seems to be able to
- 17:44handle just about anything,
- 17:46though you have to wonder
- 17:47how it affects him.
- 17:50I think if you've watched
- 17:51his demeanor over these last nine months,
- 17:54this has affected him.
- 17:57But he is born to be a soldier.
- 18:01He is born to complete the mission.
- 18:04Whether he was told to do it,
- 18:07asked to do it, or volunteered to do it,
- 18:09he went out and did it.
- 18:12He faced those athletes by
- 18:14himself out there on the floor,
- 18:18did what he could do to
- 18:19move the games forward,
- 18:21and then took all the heat
- 18:22that they all had for him.
- 18:25And he keeps on doing it.
- 18:28Ahem.
- 18:36vindicate dave is the only
- 18:38one on staff who could
- 18:39handle it I don't disagree
- 18:41with you at all on that I
- 18:42think he's the only one
- 18:44that could have gone out
- 18:45there and he's the only
- 18:46figure that has had this
- 18:48reputation where it's
- 18:50really easy to hate on him
- 18:52he's the he's the dave is a
- 18:53prick he is the guy who
- 18:56built this reputation as
- 18:57the guy who put us in pain
- 18:59every year in the open and
- 19:00we were we were
- 19:04raised to hate him through
- 19:06this right and so it's
- 19:08really easy for people to
- 19:10look at Dave and throw the
- 19:11hate his way it was
- 19:14actually whoever decided to
- 19:16make him the face after the
- 19:18death of Lazar was that was
- 19:22a brilliant decision
- 19:26because it was easy to
- 19:27transfer all that hate onto
- 19:28him and everybody else got off scot-free
- 19:42um brock bazette bezet uh
- 19:46dave said himself there's
- 19:47no one better or more
- 19:48qualified to be the ceo
- 19:50trained to live echoes that
- 19:52uh said with peter he
- 19:53doesn't think anyone could
- 19:54run crossfit better than
- 19:55him and he was definitive
- 19:57there was no hesitation in
- 19:59his voice when he answered
- 20:00that question no hesitation
- 20:15Joseph Ramirez,
- 20:15he accepts it and thrives
- 20:17off all the hate.
- 20:18I don't disagree with you,
- 20:20especially in the early days.
- 20:22I think this year is taking
- 20:23somewhat of a toll.
- 20:26But I think also what it's
- 20:27made him is want to have
- 20:29the opportunity to right
- 20:31the ship in the way that he
- 20:33knows it needs to be done best.
- 20:40He made this sacrifice this
- 20:41year to save everybody else's ass.
- 20:44And now he wants to write
- 20:45the ship and get CrossFit back on track.
- 20:55Turns out Dave is a hero in this drama.
- 20:57Isn't it funny how that works out?
- 21:00That the guy at the
- 21:00beginning of the story that
- 21:01you think is the villain
- 21:03somehow turns out to be the
- 21:04hero in the end.
- 21:11It's kind of awesome.
- 21:13Especially if he pulls it all off.
- 21:22I understand.
- 21:23I think he's good at it
- 21:24because he's able to keep
- 21:25his professional life and
- 21:26personal life so separated.
- 21:30Agreed.
- 21:34And that comes from twelve
- 21:35years of training.
- 21:39Those Navy SEALs had to keep
- 21:41everything separate,
- 21:42personal and private.
- 21:46It's probably the only way
- 21:47they make it through their day sometimes.
- 21:53So, I'm anxious to hear what happens.
- 21:56I know earlier in the chat,
- 21:57it was flying by like a whirlwind.
- 22:00I saw somewhere,
- 22:01is B-Sport the Northern Spirit people?
- 22:04Yes.
- 22:06They are the Northern Spirit people.
- 22:09All this goes back to the first...
- 22:13Matt Sousa show where he got
- 22:15out his ball of yarn and
- 22:16all of the pictures and
- 22:17connected all the dots.
- 22:19It appears that that has
- 22:20been the thing the whole time.
- 22:22And that looks like the way they're going.
- 22:39If Dave would have been fired,
- 22:40there would have been no games this year,
- 22:41and the athletes would have
- 22:42been complaining.
- 22:44I'm not sure that would be the case.
- 22:45I just don't know how it would look.
- 22:52Shanna Bunce,
- 22:52I find it hard to call him or
- 22:54anyone a hero in this
- 22:55instance without the facts.
- 22:58We don't have the facts.
- 23:01I think we have a lot of facts,
- 23:05and I think that when I say hero...
- 23:18How do I want to say this?
- 23:22A hero doesn't have to be a
- 23:23hundred percent all good.
- 23:27The hero is the person that
- 23:28moves the story along.
- 23:38And you have this tragic death.
- 23:40and you wish it didn't happen,
- 23:42and you learn a lot from that.
- 23:49And as we've noticed this year,
- 23:50like with what I talked about yesterday,
- 23:53the athletes got the email,
- 23:54and then it was released by
- 23:57Hiller and Barbell Spin
- 24:00that they got a letter
- 24:00about safety protocols for
- 24:02outdoor events at the games,
- 24:03and there's only going to
- 24:04be one outdoor event.
- 24:06If you're learning from it
- 24:07and you're changing from it
- 24:09and you're making things
- 24:10better because of it,
- 24:12then I think you can twist
- 24:14into the hero out of tragedy.
- 24:21I still think some of those
- 24:21facts have to be protected
- 24:23until all legal matters are settled.
- 24:26And I don't know where we
- 24:27are with any of that stuff
- 24:29in the background.
- 24:41Judy Reed, look at David in the Bible.
- 24:44Yeah, definitely not a perfect human being,
- 24:49but ended up being a pretty big hero.
- 25:00Larry Young, well,
- 25:01I'm hoping after overpaying
- 25:03for my tickets,
- 25:04the vendor village is good.
- 25:05Deadpool type hero.
- 25:09There you go.
- 25:11Deadpool, David,
- 25:12kind of the one in the same.
- 25:19So the next thing on my list
- 25:24to talk about is we have
- 25:26the WFP whose event is
- 25:30coming up in late August.
- 25:35Let me look this up real quick.
- 25:46Um,
- 25:47tour stop two is coming up and it is
- 25:59trying to find the dates of
- 26:00that dog on it.
- 26:09Anyway, it's a couple of weeks after, um,
- 26:16August, twenty nine to thirty first.
- 26:20So you have the CrossFit Games,
- 26:22August first through the third.
- 26:24Then you have the World
- 26:25Fitness Tour Stop two at
- 26:27the end of the month.
- 26:29And what did I say?
- 26:30The twenty ninth through the thirty first.
- 26:33So about four weeks apart.
- 26:37What what WFP did to the
- 26:39French throwdown is now
- 26:41being done back to them.
- 26:44in this case you're going to
- 26:46have people putting it all
- 26:48on the line for ten eleven
- 26:52twelve events in the
- 26:53crossfit games and then
- 26:54have to turn around and do
- 26:58the the tour stop two in three weeks
- 27:04are we going to get subpar
- 27:07performances from those
- 27:08people who just beat up
- 27:10their bodies at the
- 27:11crossfit games now
- 27:13competing at tour stop two
- 27:18And does that mean that it's
- 27:20inevitable that these
- 27:21athletes that skip the
- 27:22CrossFit game season will
- 27:24have a very distinct
- 27:25advantage at tour stop two for WFP?
- 27:28And is it going to be
- 27:29compelling to watch because
- 27:32you have people that's
- 27:33bodies are beat up from the
- 27:34CrossFit games,
- 27:36trying to compete with
- 27:37these rested individuals.
- 27:39And,
- 27:40and I think that that's where the
- 27:43world fitness project has
- 27:44made a big miss.
- 27:47the key to competition is
- 27:50having a level playing
- 27:51field for everybody.
- 27:52And that is not going to happen.
- 27:56And that is not going to
- 27:57happen with what's going on in August,
- 28:02because you're going to
- 28:02have over half the field
- 28:04that is completely beat up
- 28:06because the games do that
- 28:07to an individual.
- 28:08They really beat them up and
- 28:09it takes them weeks to recover.
- 28:11They're just going to be
- 28:12coming out of that and then
- 28:14have to compete again.
- 28:17This is where I think there
- 28:18is a distinct problem with
- 28:21the way that the WFP scheduled.
- 28:33So Jody is looking for tickets.
- 28:36Larry,
- 28:36I was just looking at prices this
- 28:37morning.
- 28:42And I know she lives just
- 28:43like an hour away from the
- 28:44CrossFit games.
- 28:45So she's trying to get there.
- 28:51Sarah Cooper,
- 28:51they will have all just shown
- 28:53themselves at the games on
- 28:55a hopefully free YouTube live stream.
- 28:58No one will care about WFP.
- 29:01That is really my, my, my thought here,
- 29:06Sarah is how good is it or
- 29:08how compelling is it going
- 29:09to be to watch when people
- 29:11are just not competitive
- 29:14because they're coming off
- 29:15the CrossFit games where it
- 29:17truly does beat up a body and
- 29:30There will be a few people
- 29:31probably not competing.
- 29:39Or will WFP athletes that
- 29:41are out of it after a day
- 29:42or two at the games take
- 29:43the foot off the gas and
- 29:44water down the games?
- 29:46Could be that way, too.
- 29:47I thought about that, too, Ken.
- 29:51Well, I'm out of this one.
- 29:52Might as well back it off
- 29:53and rest my body for World
- 29:57Fitness Project.
- 30:05Tristan Patrick is selling a
- 30:06ticket if anyone needs one.
- 30:18Hector Trinta is someone
- 30:20going to not give it all at
- 30:21the games to save their
- 30:23best for the WFP tour stop too?
- 30:25I don't think so.
- 30:26I think the way it's going
- 30:27to happen is they're going
- 30:28to give their all, not be competitive,
- 30:31and then take their foot off the gas.
- 30:36I think that's how it's going to go down.
- 30:44Hattie does have a, a percent off code.
- 30:47It's a Hattie.
- 30:49And I,
- 30:51and she has an E at the end of her name,
- 30:53H a T T I E at checkout.
- 31:02I trained to live.
- 31:03I get the dilemma when
- 31:04there's potential money-making involved.
- 31:10many people at the games are
- 31:11actually doing both you'd
- 31:12be surprised there's a lot
- 31:15of women signed up for both
- 31:17the men is less so uh
- 31:27joseph ramirez wt uh
- 31:31athletes already got paid
- 31:32but they just need to show
- 31:33up and give fifteen percent
- 31:34effort well they do have a
- 31:37chance to win more money
- 31:41Just saying.
- 31:45So, uh,
- 31:48I did want to pull up the
- 31:50qualifiers real quick,
- 31:52just because I was really
- 31:54surprised at how many women,
- 31:57how deep the women's field is for this.
- 32:01And then the men,
- 32:02nobody signed up for nobody.
- 32:06Um,
- 32:09So here is the women's field.
- 32:12And if you look at the challengers,
- 32:14now because of injury and pregnancy,
- 32:19I think eleven women get into the pros.
- 32:25And so you have Jamie Simmons,
- 32:27Annika Greer, Ota Ludikvam,
- 32:31Andrea Solberg, Jennifer Muir,
- 32:34Sydney McElishan, Ella Wilkinson,
- 32:36Kyra Milligan, Hannah Black,
- 32:38Elena Karatala, and Var Thurman-Mo.
- 32:42Just outside, you have Lydia Fish,
- 32:44Linda Kiesman, Mathilde Garnes,
- 32:47Ingrid Tondell, Janie Chevry,
- 32:50Trista Smith, Lexi Neely, Emily Rethwell,
- 32:53Paige Powers,
- 32:55it's so deep the amount of
- 32:57women that signed up for this qualifier.
- 33:00And this is all prior to video review.
- 33:06Um, train to train to live.
- 33:08Did Jamie end up doing the qualifier?
- 33:10She did,
- 33:11but she was coming off a fourth of
- 33:12July weekend.
- 33:13That probably wasn't ideal
- 33:14to then do these workouts.
- 33:17Uh, so she finished in the fifties.
- 33:20I think if we go down here, um,
- 33:28Sure.
- 33:30There she is.
- 33:31Fifty eight.
- 33:34Again, she if you look at the video,
- 33:36you can see it's definitely
- 33:38not the best of Jamie Latimer.
- 33:40She was on a boat all
- 33:41weekend out in Lake Michigan.
- 33:51Then if you look on the men's side.
- 33:55You have Nick Matthew, Tudor Magda,
- 33:57Enola Kai, Colin Bossard, Miko, Lily Orge,
- 34:02Jack Farlow, Nate Ackerman, Ty Jenkins,
- 34:05Julius Kaiser.
- 34:06And then when you get down
- 34:07into what would be the challenger piece,
- 34:11not a lot of names down here.
- 34:14Fabian Benito, Danny Camacho, Sam Zerlich,
- 34:18Nicholas Bedden, Roldan Goldbaum,
- 34:21Tola Morakunyo, Brionne Guillaume,
- 34:26Thomas O'Pierre, Chris Ibarra.
- 34:32I mean, there's some names,
- 34:33but it is definitely not as
- 34:34deep as the women's field at all.
- 34:39So.
- 34:44It's going to be interesting to see.
- 34:45We're going to see how the
- 34:46attrition affects all this.
- 34:49I know Spin did a big thing
- 34:50about how many people
- 34:53didn't do this qualifier
- 34:55that did do the first one
- 34:57and the drop-off and the
- 34:58percentages and all of that
- 35:00if you wanted to check that out.
- 35:07A trained to live wants to
- 35:08know where the gooch fell.
- 35:10Um...
- 35:14I'm not sure I know how to spell it right.
- 35:19Shoot.
- 35:24I am looking.
- 35:29Gooch, Gooch, Gucci, Gooch, Goo.
- 35:39He didn't do well.
- 35:55I must have hit something though.
- 36:03Ah, vindicate.
- 36:12Gooch fell in a very good position.
- 36:14Know what I'm saying?
- 36:22Oh my gosh, you guys.
- 36:29Where did Gooch finish?
- 36:32In Danielle Brandon.
- 36:33Okay.
- 36:34Cha-ching.
- 36:39Do I have the rim?
- 36:40Oh, I do.
- 36:46Gooch with a pooch smooching the cooch.
- 36:50Gooch was distracted.
- 36:54I knew that was coming all
- 37:01right I am looking now for
- 37:03the gooch there we go he
- 37:12actually finished fifty
- 37:13second fifty second
- 37:18He had a forty six fit place finish,
- 37:21a fifty five fifth place
- 37:22finish and a fifty first place finish.
- 37:32OMG, the sound effects.
- 37:34I've had these all along.
- 37:36Suze is really good at I
- 37:37don't even I forget they're there.
- 37:45Uh.
- 37:54Okay, there's a lot here.
- 37:58Where is it at?
- 38:00The lunch brand is changing slowly.
- 38:03Yes.
- 38:09And then Train to Live says
- 38:10she was sorry for asking.
- 38:13And Judy reads this.
- 38:14No, you're not.
- 38:15All right.
- 38:18I don't know.
- 38:18My cheek's red now.
- 38:23There we go.
- 38:24So hopefully we've answered
- 38:25all things Gooch.
- 38:28And we're coming up on my
- 38:30time to get back to work.
- 38:34So the last thing I wanted to,
- 38:39two quick things.
- 38:41And that is that Sean
- 38:43Woodland announced on
- 38:45Talking Elite Fitness that
- 38:46he is not going to be doing
- 38:49the games again this year.
- 38:51But it is not because of
- 38:52CrossFit this year.
- 38:54He was actually asked to do the games,
- 38:56but he has a scheduling
- 38:57conflict and will not be
- 38:59announcing the games.
- 39:00And so I believe Chase
- 39:02Ingram is doing the games again.
- 39:04That was announced on
- 39:05Talking Elite Fitness.
- 39:06Just wanted to share that with you.
- 39:08I'm a big fan of Sean
- 39:09Woodland as an announcer.
- 39:11I think he does a great job,
- 39:13but he will not be doing
- 39:14the games this year.
- 39:15It will be chase again.
- 39:17And then the last thing,
- 39:18just a little thing.
- 39:20I'm watching the bear season four,
- 39:22trying to get through that.
- 39:24We just watched the wedding
- 39:25episode last night.
- 39:27And if you love the first
- 39:29couple of seasons of the
- 39:29bear and you get to that wedding episode,
- 39:32it is everything you love the bear about.
- 39:36And I had a tough, tough time.
- 39:41I had a tough,
- 39:42tough time with season three of The Bear,
- 39:46but I am really,
- 39:47really excited now that
- 39:49we're getting into season
- 39:51four of The Bear.
- 39:53The wedding episode is a lot
- 39:55like the Forks episode from
- 39:57season two with less drama at the end,
- 40:01but really, really good.
- 40:06Daniel Church is on season three of Bluey.
- 40:09Good luck with that, buddy.
- 40:10Good luck.
- 40:12Uh, Shauna Bunce, uh, no Sean bummer.
- 40:19Uh, Joseph Ramirez, sick show.
- 40:21I'm starting tonight.
- 40:26And is mama Clydesdale watching?
- 40:29She may think she's on the wrong podcast.
- 40:32Uh, yeah, she is.
- 40:38Yeah, she is.
- 40:40Um, hopefully not watching.
- 40:43She hasn't been watching as much lately.
- 40:45She's going through some stuff.
- 40:46She had that stroke a few months ago,
- 40:49and I really need her to
- 40:50get into the doctor.
- 40:51I may have to go home this
- 40:52weekend and force some things to happen.
- 40:56So I don't know.
- 40:58We'll see about that.
- 41:02Dense updates.
- 41:02Wow.
- 41:03Congrats, Chase.
- 41:04Yay about Chase from Judy Reed.
- 41:07Yeah, Chase is great.
- 41:11I like alternative broadcast stuff,
- 41:15but I like Chase too.
- 41:16I just like having the alternative,
- 41:21both options available.
- 41:23I know that CrossFit will
- 41:24never do that with the
- 41:25financial place they are right now,
- 41:28but I love when Monday
- 41:29Night Football gives me two
- 41:30options for announcers.
- 41:33Because if I'm watching my
- 41:34Chicago Bears and I just want the details,
- 41:36I watch Troy and Joe.
- 41:38And if I'm watching another
- 41:39team and I don't really
- 41:40care about the details,
- 41:41I watch Peyton and Eli.
- 41:42That's the way it is.
- 41:51Joseph Vermeer says,
- 41:52Sean may have talked his
- 41:53way out of commentating for
- 41:55the games again.
- 41:58From what I understand,
- 41:58he is being hired by
- 42:00CrossFit to do
- 42:00post-production stuff is
- 42:02what he said on Talking Elite Fitness.
- 42:04This is all from him.
- 42:09And that they had a great
- 42:10conversation and there was
- 42:12actually a lot of apologies
- 42:14about last year and he is
- 42:17going to be doing some stuff for them.
- 42:19It's just not during the
- 42:20weekend because he has a
- 42:22scheduling conflict.
- 42:25And Jenny says scheduling conflict.
- 42:28Hmm.
- 42:29So investigative reporter,
- 42:31Jenny dense updates is on the case.
- 42:39All right, guys.
- 42:40Well, I need to get back to work.
- 42:42I just got handed a big
- 42:44project before this show.
- 42:46So, uh, I've got to hit that pretty hard.
- 42:49And maybe that's a, for a conversation.
- 42:54Uh,
- 42:59Haha, I'm not in restrictive.
- 43:05I train to live.
- 43:06Enjoy your steak sandwich, Scott.
- 43:07I am going to enjoy every
- 43:09bite of the steak sandwich.
- 43:11Yes, I will.
- 43:13Shaved ribeye is coming into
- 43:14my mouth and then into my belly.
- 43:17Not an investigative reporter.
- 43:20I'm going to call you that
- 43:22until you stop figuring all
- 43:23this shit out.
- 43:26With that, you know, go ahead.
- 43:28Let's get back to work to.
- 43:29I will see everybody next
- 43:30time on Lunch with the Clydesdale.
