- 3:28Dean? Yeah yeah, And Tiny Dancer was first, I think, and
- 3:34Trey Yeah, I'm pretty sure she was in there. We just have to
- 3:39scroll back a bit I did. Oh ope, so uh yeah, I
- 3:49hope everyone's having a good night tonight. And uh oh well, thank you,
- 3:53Red And yes, mister Edwards, everything is going to hell all down
- 4:00in Texas for sure. And Canton, Ohio, yes, oh wow.
- 4:08And Canton Boston or Canton Australia. Who knows anywhere named Canton has got to
- 4:18be close to hell. Yeah, no matter which state it's in or country.
- 4:25Yeah, there's a big true crime case going on in Boston Canton police
- 4:29department. Some girl that ran over her boyfriend is now saying conspiracy within the
- 4:36police department because her husband, her boyfriend, was a cop. It's a
- 4:41mess. It's a mess. Oh well, dude, I watched this thing
- 4:45on Netflix last night, and sorry, I haven't had Netflix in a while
- 4:48because they were assholes and raised the price and so I quit for a while,
- 4:56but now I'm back. But I watched this true crime documentary. It
- 5:01was the Gone Girl kidnapping that happened, like was it seven eight years ago
- 5:10in Vallejo, California. This woman was like kidnapped out of her bed in
- 5:15the middle of the night. They tied up her boyfriend, drugged him,
- 5:19and they kidnapped her. And it was and the cops didn't believe her.
- 5:25They didn't believe her boyfriend. First they tried to de pen it on him,
- 5:28and then she shows up a couple of days later alive, and they
- 5:31were trying to say it was a hoax and all this stuff, and then
- 5:33they actually, well I won't I won't ruin it. But if you haven't
- 5:38watched it out there, it's freaking crazy. It blew my mind and I
- 5:42I enjoyed. But uh yeah, your boy, your boy gets down with
- 5:46the true crime sometimes too, when he runs out of jef case stuff to
- 5:48listen to it. You know, sometimes you need a little switch up,
- 5:51not that like, you know, I'm a sucker for the first forty eight.
- 5:58If that thing comes on the first forty eight, I think there's a
- 6:01channel where it's just like twenty four hour loop I'm in, I get sucked
- 6:08in. But al right, American Nightmare, Sally, that was the name
- 6:15of it. American Nightmare, thank you. Yes, I'll have to watch
- 6:20that later. Cantons in China apparently, I guess that's why you can speak
- 6:27Cantonese in China. Right, all right, So last episode, mister Rob
- 6:35did a cool history fact of where he was from Fact Friday. Yes,
- 6:41fun fact Friday. We gotta get an audio for fun fact Friday. Fine,
- 6:47I have one next week. Okay, cool, We will accept submissions
- 6:53for that. But since Rob did his area last week, I figure I
- 7:00would do it this week. And I was kind of concerned because he had
- 7:04a really good one. But I found something really cool. So on May
- 7:12third, the road to glory in a patriot army in a free country is
- 7:16thus open to all, said George Washington when he created the Badge of Military
- 7:21Merit, which he first awarded today in seventeen eighty three to Too Brave enlisted
- 7:28Connecticut soldiers at the Continental Army Headquarters in Newburgh, New York. I drove
- 7:33past that bridge when I came back from the mountains. Prior to this,
- 7:38awards for military distinction had been granted almost exclusively by Congress to military officers Washington
- 7:45for forcing the British to evacuate Boston, Hiratio Gates victory at Saratoga, Nathaniel
- 7:50Green's victories in the Southern Campaign. The only non commissioned non officers awarded medals
- 7:59were the three enlisted men who had captured the spy John Andre, which exposed
- 8:05the British plan to take over West Point and execute Washington with help with the
- 8:09trader Benedict Arnold. And if you guys ever seen that show Turn Washington Spies,
- 8:16it's a really good one, and that goes through a lot of the
- 8:22details of Washington's spy network that he created. But the final years of the
- 8:28Revolutionary War, which ended in September seventeen eighty three, had been particularly grueling
- 8:35for American soldiers. A frustrating lack of progress regarding peace talks followed the seventeen
- 8:41eighty one American victory at Yorktown. The original badge of military merit, as
- 8:48described in Washington's General Orders, was a heart shaped badge of purple cloth.
- 8:56Only one surviving example still exists in the world. Well, I'm gonna bring
- 9:03it up here and it's pinned on George Washington's underwear. You know what,
- 9:07I don't know where it is right there by his naughty bits. So this
- 9:16is it? Does that look like anything interesting? All right? So I'm
- 9:24gonna continue reading here. On May third, seventeen eighty three, Washington awarded
- 9:31the badge to Ellija Churchill of Enfield and William Brown of Stamford, Connecticut,
- 9:37rob about five miles from me. Churchill was a sergeant in the second Regiment
- 9:43of Dragoons and was recognized for his bravery and two daring raids in New York,
- 9:48one on Long Island and the other near Terrytown, New York, which
- 9:54I went to a wedding last weekend in Terrytown, so this is very closest
- 9:58to home. Is believed to have earned the badge for valor exhibited during the
- 10:03Battle of Yorktown. A third Connecticut man, Daniel Bissel, no connection to
- 10:09with your basil of East Windsor, which is a little north, was the
- 10:16only other known recipient of the Badge of Military Merit, and he received that
- 10:20in seventeen eighty three or one as well, but it went out of it
- 10:26wasn't awarded for a long time. But the Badge of Military Merit was revived
- 10:31in nineteen thirty two, the year of Washington's two hundredth birthday, by General
- 10:35Douglas MacArthur, who wanted to honor Washington's memory. The new medal, a
- 10:41heart shaped medal featuring a profile of George Washington amid a purple enameled backdrop,
- 10:48was designed as a tribute to both the original Revolutionary War badge and Washington himself.
- 10:56Considered to be one of the highest honors in the United States military,
- 11:00it is now awarded by the President of the United States to any active service
- 11:09member wounded in battle. So next, I have a cool picture I'm going
- 11:15to show you, and that is bron Did you know there's another Joseph Burley
- 11:24happens to be my grandfather who I'm named after, and this is his purple
- 11:28heart. The Badge of Military Merit became the Purple Heart as you could see
- 11:33the image I previously shown, and this is actually a picture of my grandfather's.
- 11:39It came in a really nice yeah that container, my dad has it
- 11:46now, but hopefully I'll get that one day. And it's really cool because
- 11:52you know, he went through France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. My
- 12:00grandfather had one as well. That's awesome. Yeah, so that it came
- 12:03to be the Purple Heart. And it was first awarded on May third,
- 12:07seventeen eighty three to somebody from Connecticut. Yeah. Well that that's where they
- 12:15called the Spy although John Andre but yeah, it was people from Connecticut.
- 12:20I guess the first people that were non That wasn't George Washington or Horseho Gates
- 12:24or the other general got it. It was like the first regular people see
- 12:30related to Benjamin Gates. I don't know, but I hope you guys like
- 12:37that. Yes, are youngy Ben Gates Bill Gates's dad? I'm joking.
- 12:43No name sounds really cool, man, it sounds really no treasure, Nick
- 12:48Cage. Oh there you go. Day. So I hope you guys enjoyed
- 12:58that. Yes, that was a fantastic Friday, fun Fact Friday from Joe
- 13:03BURRELLI and his purple egg plant, I mean purple heart. All right,
- 13:13Perry Russo, Folks, this is afk Assassination podcast. We digress, but
- 13:18Perry Russo, Okay. Perry Raymond Rousseau was born in May of nineteen forty
- 13:28one and he died in nineteen ninety five August to be exact, and at
- 13:37the time of the assassination. He was an American insurance salesman who became the
- 13:43key witness for the prosecution in the trial of Clay Shaw in New Orleans in
- 13:46nineteen sixty nine. Russo claimed that in September of nineteen sixty three, he
- 13:52witnessed businessman and civic leader Clay Shaw conspiring with Lee Harvey, I. Oswald
- 14:00and David Ferry to assassinate US President John F. Kennedy allegedly now Russo,
- 14:09like I said, was an insurance salesman from Baton Rouge. He had attended
- 14:13Tulane University, received a bachelor's degree from Loyola New Orleans in nineteen sixty four,
- 14:20and attended one year of law school at Loyola Loiola. It isn't be
- 14:28a difficult one for me. He moved away from New Orleans in September nineteen
- 14:33sixty three. Russo came forward after his friend David Ferry died on February twenty
- 14:41second, So, five days after Dave Ferry died, Perry Russo comes forward
- 14:48while being investigated by New Orleans attorney Jim Garrison in regard to Kennedy's death and
- 14:54Ford television and newspaper interviews that Russo gave. He talked at Linked about Fairy
- 15:00and he said that Ferry had told him about a month before the assassination,
- 15:03we will get him and it won't be long. And on another occasion,
- 15:07you know, we can get Kennedy if we want it. Now, I'm
- 15:11gonna play you a little clip of said television interview and uh, hopefully,
- 15:18I know the audio is a little low, but hopefully y'all can hear it.
- 15:24H Okay, it would appear that nobody can hear it. I had
- 15:31to turn it way up in my monitors to hear it. And I can
- 15:33hear it just fine. But can I try something? Sure? Okay,
- 15:41let me know. Late September or October, fascination Dave. I come over
- 15:52house on several instances, and I went to his place and just passed,
- 15:54and he made specific references and talking about can He said, we will get
- 16:00him and it won't be very long. Now. The last time I can
- 16:03remember him saying that was sometime in October. But he was obsessed with that
- 16:08idea. He ever mentioned Lee Harvey Oswall you no conversation all about it.
- 16:15I had never heard of Osball until the television was as Festinator, why have
- 16:19you never said anything about just before? It didn't then it strike you as
- 16:26well when the assassination, of course caught he by surprise and caught everyone else.
- 16:30I would give when it finally was over on the Warren report. Warren
- 16:33Commission was set up, and it tended to go examine all the details,
- 16:37and they claimed that it was going to do everything extensively. Then I left
- 16:41it to the professionals and they were supposed to come up with a verdict.
- 16:44Then they came up with a verdict. Alswall was the only man, so
- 16:47I forgot it. Then Jarathon began his pros and such point that got the
- 16:51newspapers in New Orleans and then later on television everywhere. And in that probe
- 16:56he said that there was a conspiracy. He could prove it if Bill didn't
- 17:00ring a bell anywhere along the line. I just it was far from me
- 17:03that I would have, you know, ever have met a person I would
- 17:06have been a consider to the President of the United States. Thereafter, when
- 17:10Dave Ferry died, uh the name, I still doubted if it was the
- 17:14same guy. This just another day, sir. But when I saw a
- 17:17picture in the paper and I knew it was the same man, and I
- 17:18adjusted, just as well play something to someone, and I wrote this return
- 17:23the next day, and he should have gotten his Friday, and I saw
- 17:26the pictures this week. You haven't talked with any Sebuale agents or anybody.
- 17:32No warrant for me, No, no one's contacted me. Actually, the
- 17:34first time I made a remark about this was today and to anyone in public.
- 17:40All right, Yeah, so there's a Perry Raymond Russo. That was
- 17:45a video interview he did a month after David Ferry died. But as you
- 17:51heard him say, he had heard David Ferry passed away. And then he
- 17:56wrote a letter to Jim Garrison supposedly the next day, letting him know what
- 18:04what he allegedly witnessed or was a party two back in nineteen sixty three.
- 18:12Now, Russeau was interviewed in Garrison's office on February twenty second or twenty seventh,
- 18:18I'm sorry. Russo described a roommate of fairies in New Orleans as having
- 18:22a sort of dirty blond hair and a husky beard, A typical beatnik,
- 18:30extremely dirty and when Rousseau was shown a picture of Oswald, he said that
- 18:34Oswald was the person whom Ferry had introduced him as his roommate sometime between May
- 18:40and October of nineteen sixty three. Now, folks, we all know this
- 18:48can't be our hapless Patsy Lee Oswald. His whereabouts are spoken for between May
- 18:56and October of nineteen sixty three. So if, and that's a big if,
- 19:03Perry Russo met somebody that he was introduced to as Leon Oswald, it
- 19:08was definitely not our hapless Patsy. It was I've heard, possibly Carrie Thornley,
- 19:17possibly William Seymour, possibly Lauren Hall, who knows, but I digress.
- 19:29When shown a picture of Shawl, Russo said he saw him and Ferry
- 19:32talking in a car at Ferry's service station, but still Russo said nothing about
- 19:37Shawl or Oswald at that time conspiring with Ferry to murder Kennedy. Russo added
- 19:42that if he were hypnotized, he may have total recall on names and places
- 19:48and dates. So Garrison arranged to have Russo interrogated three times while hypnotized,
- 19:59the first time, also under an injection of sodium penththal, known popularly as
- 20:06truth Serum. Now, Russo described a conspiracy plot with Shawl using the alias
- 20:11bertrand in a rightful toading Leon Oswald at Ferry's apartment when Russo was visiting in
- 20:18mid September of sixty three. Russo said, Fairry told him, we are
- 20:23going to kill John F. Kennedy and it won't be long. Now,
- 20:27mid September sixty three is a good time to be seeing Lee Oswald because his
- 20:36whereabouts in September sixty three are the most murky that we have as far as
- 20:45his exact whereabouts and what he was doing. Yeah, Mexico City, the
- 20:51Sylvia Odio, but that wasn't until the end of September, right, you
- 20:56know, There's a lot of questions to what he was doing at home month.
- 21:00He definitely wasn't working anywhere. Was the Clinton Louisiana in August or September?
- 21:10I think it was late August or early September, So, okay,
- 21:18we did that. So Shaw apparently had a preliminary hearing on March fifteenth,
- 21:26nineteen sixty seven, where Russo repeated the claims that he made under hypnosis when
- 21:30asked on cross examination why he had not gone to the authorities two months after
- 21:36the alleged meeting, Russo said, I had an involvement with school and that
- 21:41was more important to me. That's setting the record street. Russo named two
- 21:48witnesses who could collaborate his story of attending a party at Ferries apartment in sixty
- 21:52September sixty three. The first was Russo's former girlfriend, who appeared on an
- 21:59NBC News program about the Garrison investigation on June nineteen sixty seven, and guess
- 22:06what, Joe What. She denied being at Fairiy's apartment to witness this meeting,
- 22:12marcol Yeah, and said that she had never even met Fairry until nineteen
- 22:18sixty five. The second, a friend of Russo's, told NBC News that
- 22:23he was at Fairiy's apartment then but saw nobody resembling or named Oswald or Shawl
- 22:30or bertrand So. Russeau failed two polygraph examinations ordered by Garrison on March eighth
- 22:40and June nineteenth of nineteen sixty seven, and during the second when he confessed
- 22:45to the polygraph operator that his story was not true. Walter Sheridan, a
- 22:51former FBI agent and aide to Bobby Kennedy, who was investigating the Garrison accusations
- 22:56for NBC News reported in my conversations with Perry Russo. He has stated that
- 23:02in his preliminary hearing testimony against clay Shaw it may have been a combination of
- 23:07truth, fantasy, and lies. He says he wishes he had never gotten
- 23:11into this, but now he feels he has no choice but to go through
- 23:15with it. He said he's afraid if he changed his testimony, the Garrison
- 23:18would indict him for perjury. Russo said, the hell with the truth,
- 23:22the hell with justice. You're asking me to sacrifice myself for clay Shaw,
- 23:27and I won't do it. So you know, just a little bit more
- 23:34about Russo's character. In August of nineteen seventy, Perry Russo and another man
- 23:45was arrested for burglarising a New Orleans residence, stealing property valued at eight thousand
- 23:52dollars in nineteen seventy money, which is a lot, and being in possession
- 24:03of a stolen safe deposit key. Garrison's office declined to prosecute on the burglary
- 24:10and theft charges. Russo pled guilty to possessing a stolen key and was given
- 24:15a three month suspended sentence for his service to the Garrison investigation, Thank you,
- 24:23sir. In nineteen seventy one, two years after Shaw's not guilty verdict,
- 24:29Rude Russo Russo told one of Shaw's lawyers that he never saw Shaw at
- 24:34Ferry's apartment and that Garrison's office had done a complete brainwashing job on him.
- 24:41In his second tape, recorded an interview with a former Garrison investigator in two
- 24:45of Shaw's attorneys, Russo spoke of Garrison and his staff telling him before the
- 24:51trial that they had a contract with Life magazine for twenty five thousand dollars and
- 24:56that after the Shaw conviction they would either get give that to me or see
- 25:00somehow that I got ate a lot of it for my trouble. Russo also
- 25:06said, I guess I always knew that Sean had nothing to do with anything,
- 25:10but the others Russeo confirmed or continued to assert that he had seen Fairry
- 25:15Sean Oswald conspiring to kill President Kennedy. Journalist James Feelin, who covered the
- 25:22Garrison investigation for The Saturday Evening Post, later explain this. Russeo had told
- 25:27me in March sixty seven that he was caught in the middle of this thing.
- 25:32That if he stuck to his story, Shaw and his friends and lawyers
- 25:33would collabor him. If he changed his story, and then Garrison would charge
- 25:37him with perjury and Chuck there would go his job with equitable life. He
- 25:44told me all he was concerned about was his own position and work in a
- 25:48livelihood, and that he wished he'd never opened his mouth about this mess and
- 25:52wished he could go back to the day before he shot off his mouth up
- 25:56in Baton. Rouge'll get we'll get into the lawyers of Clay Shaw and what
- 26:07Perry Russo's visit to them in nineteen seventy one and what he told them a
- 26:12little later. And now I'm going to turn it over to Joe and we're
- 26:17going to find out a little bit more about perryimoned Russo. Yeah. Sure,
- 26:26So I'm just going to read a little excerpt from Jim Garrison on the
- 26:33Trails of the Assassin from nineteen eighty eight. And you know, Russo was
- 26:40obviously are one of Jim Garrison's star witnesses, so he was obviously very bullish
- 26:48on him in a sense. And I think we'll let you decide Russou was
- 26:53significant, Garrison said, because he was the first eye witness to have overheard
- 26:57Shaw and Ferry engaging in the discussion of the perspective murder of John Kennedy.
- 27:03In my judgment, even without Russo, we had sufficient evidence to support a
- 27:08charge against Shaw of participating in the conspiracy to murder the president, but that
- 27:15evidence since evidence was circumstantial. As an experienced trial attorney, I knew that
- 27:22laymen are particularly responsive to eyewitness testimony, and Russo provided that in full measure.
- 27:29Consequently, upon first learning how strong the conversation between Shaw and Ferry was,
- 27:33I decided to take additional precaution of confirming the veracity of Russo's recollection.
- 27:40The lawyers on the special team and I considered using a lie detector test,
- 27:45but since such tests are highly imperfect and inadmissible in court, we rejected the
- 27:49idea. Instead, we chose to use hypnosis and sodium penththro all Okay truth
- 27:57zerum. Both treatments were administered to Russo under a close medical supervision, and
- 28:04both revealed that Russo was indeed telling the truth, says Garrison. So when
- 28:10we called Perry Russo to the witness stand at Shaw's preliminary hearing, we were
- 28:14confident after the usual preliminary questions, bringing out his background, allowing him to
- 28:18relax in the courtroom surroundings. Assistant da Ward and Oser asked Russo about a
- 28:26gathering at David Ferry's apartment. Russo responded that when he dropped in at David
- 28:32Ferry's place somewhere around the middle of September sixty three, an informal gathering which
- 28:37he described as quotations, some sort of party. I bet it was,
- 28:42was just breaking up. Some of Fairy's usual bevy of youngsters were there,
- 28:48but soon left, Russo said. A former girlfriend of his, Sandra Moffat,
- 28:52was also there for a while. After she departed, they remained,
- 28:59according to Russou, a scattering of anti Castro Cubans, a group which occasionally
- 29:03came by to visit Ferry. Occasionally a few of them stayed on for a
- 29:08little while. Understatement of the year. So that is what Jim Garrison had
- 29:17to say about Perry Brusso. And obviously he is what'd you say? I
- 29:30can't repeat it fear of demonetization, yes Lam and indeed, and yeah,
- 29:41he was driving a cab in New Orleans and Rob and I were talking about
- 29:45this pret in New Orleans. This was in nineteen nineties. He was driving
- 29:48a cab somewhere and there was he was he was being interviewed while he's driving
- 29:53this cab. It was a funny thing. And I looked and scoured YouTube
- 29:56and Google and it's gone. It's on. It may be a smaller part
- 30:03of a bigger conspiracy documentary, but if anybody knows where it is, help
- 30:07some brothers out and uh and let us know. Yes, please, I
- 30:15want to say it might be on that one that's at the end of the
- 30:18JFK movies. It's called Beyond Conspiracy. But I just don't know. You
- 30:25know, it's hard to scour an hour and a half conspiracy documentary without really
- 30:30even knowing if what you're looking for is in there. So if anybody knows
- 30:37what's up, Roger our Man's here. Yeah. Well, Colleen, if
- 30:45you do have it saved, uh, you know where to email it the
- 30:51Lone Government Podcast at gmail dot com. And if you do it quickly,
- 30:56we might even be able to open it up. You gotta give us some
- 31:00time to find it. I know we wing it, so we do.
- 31:03We do, yeah, because there's nothing more we love than hanging out with
- 31:08our friends on a Friday night fun tract Friday, silly Friday. What's the
- 31:17other Friday term? T G I Friday t g I f LG t LG.
- 31:26All right, so I mentioned before when reached Perry Raymond Russo, he
- 31:32actually had a whole book written about him by Patrician Lambert called false Witness because
- 31:40this is what makes it so easy to dismiss the Garrison investigation. And this
- 31:45is and Jim Garrison's got nobody to blame but himself, folks, for hanging
- 31:51his hat on Perry Russo now and a lot of other witnesses that had questionable
- 31:57history, right, well, doctor questionable histories. I mean, this guy
- 32:01was pretty bona fide him. He's an insurance salesman, he's a college graduate,
- 32:06he's going to Loyola for law. But he's a complete nutter nut job
- 32:12only twenty five too, right, So you know, who knows why?
- 32:19Maybe somebody dared him to write a letter to Garrison and say that he knew
- 32:23Faery. I don't know, because this either happened or he just made it
- 32:29all up. There is no in between. He didn't just kind of know
- 32:34something. He was either there and he was introduced to shawl and Oswald and
- 32:39Faery one of fairies parties. You know, lots of uppers and poppers and
- 32:47hoofers and stag films going around one on every wall playing something will be flying
- 32:58any immortal words of David And if you'd like to know what that is,
- 33:04go listen to quick Hits. But speaking of hypnosis, Rob and I have
- 33:13a little you want to do that? Now we'll get there. Let me
- 33:19hit what he told Shaw's lawyers here real quick afterwards, because like I said,
- 33:30Russo is really really not credible when he's going he's straddling both sides of
- 33:36the defense. Here. He's telling some people he made everything up and he
- 33:40regrets doing anything, but then he tells other people this really happened. So
- 33:47he wasn't very credible to the jury obviously in the Shaw trial, and they
- 33:54picked him apart. And in nineteen seventy one January twenty seventh, Perry Raymond
- 34:04Russo came to our office last night at seven o'clock sharp by pre arrangement.
- 34:12And this memo comes from the files of Edward Wegman, who was one of
- 34:15Clay Shaw's attorneys. I told him I wanted the whole truth about what went
- 34:20on, and gave him my promise that I would not put him in the
- 34:23middle if he gave me the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so
- 34:28help him Jesus. Whereupon he agreed to do so, first of all,
- 34:34and answer to my question as to whether he now thinks that Clay Shaw was
- 34:37the man in Ferry's apartment, he said absolutely not. I then asked him
- 34:44whether he was ever positive that Shaw was the man, and he said not
- 34:50really. He said that after he had talked to the news media in Baton
- 34:53Rouge, Schamberg came up to see him, and he did not mention clay
- 34:59Shaw to she Ambre at the time. Further, he knew nothing about a
- 35:02second memorandum that Shamber had written, and when he got down here to New
- 35:09Orleans, before any hypnosis or true serum, he made it clear to them
- 35:14that there was grave doubt in his mind as to the identity of Clay Shaw,
- 35:22and say that is the man you saw there. Shamber said the same
- 35:27thing as he showed Shawl to Russo through the two way mirror. An answer
- 35:32to my question, Russeo said that he feels it is entirely possible that the
- 35:37man whom he identified the man whom he identified could be Guy Banister and not
- 35:44Clay Shaw okay. Russo described his conditioning by the d a's office as a
- 35:51complete brainwashing job. He said that he was constantly being told, particularly by
- 35:57Andrew Sambra, this is the man you all, and finally got in a
- 36:01position where he just couldn't deny it. Excuse me, Russe, who also
- 36:07said the DA's office was making every effort to pin two murder charges on Shawl.
- 36:15Thank you, Trey, appreciate it, buddy, you are the fu
- 36:21man. Thank you so much. Those being the killing of a fourteen or
- 36:28fifteen year old boy of the name Jimmy Rupp and the death of doctor Mary
- 36:34Sherman on Saint Charles Avenue, which is interesting. Very yes, very parry
- 36:44yes. He said that both of these people belonged to a sex club Joe
- 36:54uh and said that at one point the question was asked by someone in the
- 36:59DA's office do we have enough evidence to convict Shawl in these cases? Russo
- 37:04said that he couldn't believe what he was hearing, for the reason he knew
- 37:07there was no evidence to connect shaw with those cases. Except as belonging to
- 37:13a sex club. There was also some talk about penning a third murder on
- 37:17clay Shaw, but he doesn't remember the name in that case either. The
- 37:24first night he was here, shortly thereafter, he was taken to the rib
- 37:28room at the Royal Orleans Hotel with mister Billings of Life magazine by Jim Garrison.
- 37:36Garrison had him repeat for Billings his story and answered questions preponded to him
- 37:43by both Garrison and Billings. At the end of the night, Garrison suggested
- 37:45that Russo stay here a few days in one of the motels. Russo said,
- 37:50mister Garrison, I only have six dollars in my pocket and I'm not
- 37:54about to spend that on food at a motel. Garrison then the old off
- 38:00his wide two Chris clean New one hundred dollar bills and flipped him at Russo
- 38:07and said, don't worry about expenses, son. At this point Russo devis
- 38:15deviated to tell us I can tell you where most of that fifteen thousand dollars
- 38:21went every time I stayed here one of the fancy motels there, and was
- 38:24told that there was no limit on what I could spend. I was permitted
- 38:28to invite all my friends there for dinner, and on more than one occasion
- 38:31had dinner checks in excess of one hundred dollars. Joe Wow, one hundred
- 38:38dollars. Speaking of you, owe me one hundred dollars because I did my
- 38:42own podcast on those seventy one pages of names. No one watched it,
- 38:47but you still owe me a hundred. I'm collecting one hundred from my secret
- 38:51sponsor. You feel free to send me the link to that video. Bud
- 38:55okay, and I'll why are you over? Okay? So, yeah,
- 39:02there was a okay so in our in our theater of the mind that we're
- 39:08going to be performing for you here in a second. Uh, it is
- 39:12just designated as I don't know if y'all can see this. It's between doctor
- 39:19F and p R, which is Perry Russo and doctor F. I thought
- 39:25was being hey, doctor feel good, but you can call me doctor F.
- 39:30But apparently his name was doctor Fatter. So m h. In light
- 39:37of our current roles, we will be changing things up for you. Yes,
- 39:44Theater of the mind. Folks, Wait, well, yes, let's
- 39:47uh, let's answer a trace question. Because he attached the question, I
- 39:52didn't even know you had a question. Yes you were reading, sir,
- 39:54so I didn't want to interrupt you. Garrison was the wrong man for the
- 39:58right movement. He's still heroic because he acted when no one else would.
- 40:02And I agree, I totally, one hundred percent agree. And when you
- 40:07think about what was happening in the mid to late sixties, right, everyone
- 40:12was just criticizing the Warrant Commission, and he kind of took the dialogue and
- 40:17to a new level, right. And like granted, some of his witnesses
- 40:22might have not been the most you know, trustworthy and have the you know,
- 40:31the best backgrounds, but he did create a whole new, you know,
- 40:37avenue for assassination researchers at the time to go down. And his follow
- 40:42up comment, let me see Trey Garrison is a net positive when you consider
- 40:46his entire body of work over time. I completely agree, yep. And
- 40:52you know, I'm the last one to ever denigrate the work that Jim Garrison
- 40:57did do I agree with his I mean, I think he did the best
- 41:00with what he had at the time. He was a victim of circumstance basically,
- 41:07I mean he had his hands on people like Thomas Beckham and Jack Martin,
- 41:13and David Ferry and Lawrence Howard, Lawrence Hall. I mean, he
- 41:21was calling these people back to New Orleans, but they duped him. They
- 41:27duped him, they duped him, they duped him. They lied to him,
- 41:30and they duped him. And you know, it's it's sad that,
- 41:34you know, after the fact that you know all this other stuff, and
- 41:38had he just changed tactics and pursued other leads, might have had a different
- 41:45result. But yeah, I'm not a Garrison hater, like you know,
- 41:50some of these people are out there, like God love him, Fred Litwin,
- 41:53But uh, you know, I think the world is a much better
- 41:59place for what g Garrison did, his investigative notes, the things he brought
- 42:02to light, what was going on in New Orleans, because I think the
- 42:07key to figuring this entire assassination scenario out. Yes it happened in Dallas,
- 42:15but it started in New Orleans. It had to start in New Orleans.
- 42:22Without New Orleans, there is no Dallas. And when you figure out what
- 42:24the hell was going on in New Orleans, that's going to get you a
- 42:29lot closer to the truth. Oh, Paul, Paul coming through, Paul,
- 42:37Yes, thank you, sir. What's Paul saying there was waking a
- 42:42kind of money on one meal and on that day and age oh no,
- 42:45he invited all his friends and he had one hundred dollar bill, which today,
- 42:51I mean, I don't think you can take two of your friends out
- 42:53and get a hundred dollar bill, you know, two entrees and a couple
- 42:59of drinks. You're yeah, you're at a hundred bucks already, yeah,
- 43:01easily. But back then ship twenty people could eat on a hundred bucks,
- 43:06probably at a nice restaurant. Yeah, and then we're out shit faced.
- 43:12And there were allegations that, of course Perry Russa was paid. I believe
- 43:15Leyton Martin's not Martin Martin's uh said he was paid. I believe three thousand
- 43:21dollars I've read earlier. But again that's allegations, right, that's right,
- 43:31all right, So, yes, not to the crew for Doctor Field Good,
- 43:37but it's Doctor Fatter and I will be playing the part of Doctor Fatter
- 43:42this evening, and young Joseph will be playing the upstart drama high school drama
- 43:52lead Perry Russo in this Theater of the Mind for you folks, So strap
- 44:00in because you're gonna be chuckling a lot here in just a second. But
- 44:07first, are you ready for this? Joe? Are you ready? And
- 44:13okay, yes, sir, I'm ready discussing. Okay, I'm gonna be
- 44:16playing sun guy. What I'm gonna be playing the Southern guy? Yes,
- 44:24old Yankee Joe is going to be playing Perry Russo with his new Orleans accent.
- 44:32Here we go. Are you ready? First of all, Joe,
- 44:37we need to take everybody back way back to March of nineteen sixty seven,
- 44:46where Perry Russo is laying back on the couch, arm out and he feels
- 44:54that sodium pentathal traveled deep inside of his veins. Oh, the sweet release
- 45:01of that. I can't do nothing but tell you the truth, mister Gasson.
- 45:07I'm ready to tell that You're disgusting. Are you sure? All right?
- 45:12All right, let's go back, go way back, folks, way
- 45:16back, way way. If I hit the freaking button. I wander Perry,
- 45:29how he introduced you as his friend? And by what name did he
- 45:36introduce you? Perry? And hell did he introduce you to the others?
- 45:44Manuel? And I want to how about the other one he introduced me?
- 45:52The others to me? The boy from the Civil ad patrol was Tommy.
- 45:58This was Tommy who Harry, just Tommy. And this was Tommy who Perry.
- 46:06I was never told just tom These guys spoke Spanish, and these two
- 46:12boys were about my age, and we just talked and talked. Did you
- 46:16hear somebody mention Juliana? I thought I did. I think Manuel called the
- 46:24other guy Juliana. Julie Spanish, Julie Jules. They talked in Spanish,
- 46:32and very very talking in Spanish. They were very impolite. Don't you think
- 46:40to talk in Spanish in front of you? I figured that was all they
- 46:45could speak. All right, Perry, close your eyes, relax, continue
- 46:54to go deeper and deeper to sleep. You are comfort the bullet and blank,
- 47:00a blank slate ready to be formed. Look at the television screen again,
- 47:07mister Perry, picture and visualize your finger well lived again when it's clear
- 47:20that is right, a picture is going to come on that television. Perry,
- 47:23and you are in Fairy's apartment on Louisiana Avenue Parkway. Would you look
- 47:30at that picture, Perry and tell us the story that you see. He
- 47:36introduced me to his roommate who was a kook, and Perry, I'm wondering
- 47:43what his roommate looked like. Describe him for me. He looked like he
- 47:47would have bad be about as tall as I. And he had sandy brown
- 47:52hair, dirty white shirt, and dirty, dirty, dirty dirty boy.
- 48:00Yeah, uh, Perry, what was his name? Leon? What was
- 48:06his last name? It was Oswalt. That is right, That is right,
- 48:15Perry. Continue looking at that picture, now, son, Who else
- 48:17is in that apartment? Nobody? Just me and him, just you and
- 48:23Ferry and Oswalt. Yeah, that's right, Perry. Keep looking at that
- 48:30picture and tell me what happens next. He introduced me and we talked,
- 48:37and Ferry came in and served coffee and I didn't take any. And this
- 48:40roommate was just sitting on the piano. It was closed and he just sat
- 48:45and Ferry and Leon didn't seem to get along that night. They had a
- 48:50difference of opinion. Yes, what about Perry? Dave never stated, but
- 48:57I got the idea. It was about a boy and Day was sleeping with
- 49:00and Leon made some remarks about it, and Leon objected to the boy being
- 49:05there. Ah, Yes, that's right, Perry. Continue now to go
- 49:09deeper and deeper into that sleep. Now, picture that television screen once again
- 49:17in your mind, Perry, Perry, it is a picture of Ferry's apartment
- 49:22and there's lots of dirty underwear on the floor, and there are several people
- 49:27in there, and there is a white haired man. Tell me about it.
- 49:30Now, tell me about the son. We are having party, a
- 49:36party, and I came in and everybody is drinking beer. They are about
- 49:40ten of us, and I am there, the roommate Dave, some young
- 49:44boys, and some other friends of Dave's. And I was with Sandra.
- 49:51And what month is it, Perry h September, September sixteenth. What year
- 49:59is Perry nineteen sixty three? Tell me more about that picture, Perry,
- 50:07Let me dig deep. Well, there's a record player in the middle of
- 50:12the room and it's playing sounds, not music, Spanish, and a guy
- 50:17is making a speech and everyone laughed. Well what did he say, Perry?
- 50:23Well, he was speaking Spanish, sort of like Hitler. And how
- 50:31about that white haired man, Perry, Well, that's a friend of Dave's
- 50:37man, what's his name, clam Bertrand had you ever seen him before?
- 50:45Yeah? I saw him at the Nashville Street wharf. I wonder where else
- 50:49you saw him, Perry, No, Where is that the same white haired
- 50:54gentleman in the service station. I don't remember the station. I wonder who
- 51:01that is sitting on the sofa with the rifle at Leon. What's he doing
- 51:07with the rifle? Perry? He always had a rifle. You like guns,
- 51:12and many times he would just have a rifle. Now, this particular
- 51:15rifle. Describe it for me, Parry. Right, well, he wasn't
- 51:22on a sofa. He was on a half sofa, I said, tell
- 51:25me about the goddamn rifle, Perry. Look at it. Describe it for
- 51:30me, Parry, all right. It's long as a wooden or plastic stock,
- 51:37yes, plastic dock. It looks brown, and it has a slight
- 51:43of hunting. What kind of sight? A barrel tip almost eight inches long?
- 51:49Just as long eight inches long. Take a look at that gun again,
- 51:54Perry. Does it have a lever underneath where you put the bullets in?
- 52:00I have a twenty two, and it's the same type. He offered
- 52:04to show it to me, but I didn't care to look at it.
- 52:07Same as my twenty two. You'd have to pull the ball back and the
- 52:09cartridges have to be entered from below. Continue looking at the television program in
- 52:15your mind, Perry and Clay the white haired man is going to come into
- 52:21the room. You were at Ferry's apartment, and there are many people who
- 52:29did he introduce Clay to Perry, He introduced me me to everybody. Thank
- 52:37you, thank you, thank you, guys, thank you, thank you.
- 52:43I gotta look at the comments here. Oh god, there's twenty.
- 52:49Oh man. Oh that was funny. They tried to keep oho, y'all,
- 52:59saund my phone sex. Yeah, that's the point because we were under
- 53:02hypnosis. Tyn of dancer. Hey, doctor Fata needs to know the details
- 53:09tiny dancer. Without the details, you gotta get the details. Sally likes
- 53:15that here striking up. Oh lord, that was something. Yes, thank
- 53:23you, thank you. Yeah, it was really funny. But I mean
- 53:29that was Harry Russo under hypnosis, and that is one of the reasons why
- 53:36his testimony was. I mean, you know how like polygraphs are three sessions
- 53:42of this stuff, folks, we can do this all night. I got
- 53:44like thirty more pages. That was three pages of one session. And there
- 53:52it gets way worse than that. Yeah wo yeah. But it's and that's
- 54:00why it wasn't taken seriously, this admission, because it was done under these
- 54:07circumstances similar to a polygraph, right, how it's inadmissible? This was maybe
- 54:12not. I don't know if they have like a rule for it back then.
- 54:15But it wasn't taken seriously about the jury, that's for sure, because
- 54:20Perry was one of Garrison's witness star witnesses. Yeah, so you know it,
- 54:27Like I said, three of these sessions not taken seriously. He failed
- 54:30two light detector tests, right, And it was just horrible the way that
- 54:42things turned out. I mean, they even had they I'll show you this
- 54:47picture. They had this dramatic scene in the clay Shaw trial where they told
- 54:55Perry that Perry is the man you saw his party in this courtroom right now?
- 55:01He said, yes, will you walk over to the man you saw
- 55:07at that party right now and put your hand over his head? No shit,
- 55:16Look at this. This is the courtroom sketch. And he has his
- 55:24hand over top of clay Shaw's head and clay Shaw is sitting there like,
- 55:30I can't believe this, you know, but you know I don't. I
- 55:39mean, I'm pretty confident, at least in my opinion, Joe, that
- 55:46I think Perry Russo was full of crap I think he did something as a
- 55:54joke to begin with, or maybe he thought it'd be cute or or maybe
- 56:00like maybe it was a bet, maybe it was adre. But then it
- 56:02got serious real quick, and he knew that if he said that he lied,
- 56:07that Garrison would charge him with perjury. And if he did what Garrison
- 56:10told him and said what he wanted to say, well, hell, Garrison's
- 56:14gonna give him some money. Garrison's not going to prosecute him for dumb shit
- 56:17that he does. And you know, he can live like a king.
- 56:22He when he comes to New Orleans from Baton Rouge and stay in these hotels
- 56:25and this that. I mean, even his girlfriend didn't back him up.
- 56:30She was like, no, we never went into any parties like that.
- 56:34So I think this guy's story is total crap. And that's why I was
- 56:38trying to find that video of Russo in the nineties driving a cab because he's
- 56:45stuck to his story. Again. He said that it happened, and this
- 56:51is when he's like, you know, fifty years old driving a cab when
- 56:57this guy should have been a successful lawyer somewhere. So somewhere in all this
- 57:02crap, his life took a very dramatic turn for the worst. I mean,
- 57:07you go from law school loiola your college graduate to getting arrested for burglarising
- 57:15somebody's house and stealing eight thousand dollars worth of shit and some kind of a
- 57:22key for a safe deposit box. I mean, you can't make this up.
- 57:25And then at fifty years old, you're driving a cav I mean,
- 57:30not to take anything away from people to drive calves, but this guy was
- 57:35on a whole different career path before all this fookery happened, back in the
- 57:40late sixties and early seventies. What do you think about mister Perry Russo's story,
- 57:46Joe. You know, I tend to agree it is. You know,
- 57:52it was left out of the Garrison investigation for whatever reason, whether it's
- 57:58because of the lack of corroborating evidence and witnesses, and the fact that he
- 58:07didn't come out till nineteen sixty seven after David Ferry's death. I don't discount
- 58:15it one hundred percent. I think there might be some truth to it.
- 58:22I think it's probably somewhere in the middle. I kind of always land in
- 58:25the middle, but I think for the most part, I lean mostly exaggeration.
- 58:31But you know, Garrison had lost Fairry Banister had died before the Warrant
- 58:39Commission came out. He really didn't have much to go on. And I
- 58:44think the clache and listen to a lot of great things came from this investigation
- 58:49a completely you know, changed the purview of where people were just hating on
- 58:54the warrant Commission to kind of looking at it in a bigger way almost.
- 59:00But h I agree, it isn't that positive. But in terms of Perry
- 59:05of Russo, I I don't I don't buy all of it. What do
- 59:15you think? I don't buy any of it. I think he I think
- 59:20he lied through his teeth and got trapped up in some in some hot mess
- 59:24m and Garrison didn't have any other leg to stand on. I think I
- 59:34think Garrison was I think what really screwed Garrison over, especially the judge in
- 59:40that case throwing out when who was it that aloicious harbor gassed or whatever that
- 59:51cop was. When they when they arrested clay Shaw, you know, they
- 59:54asked him, did you go buy any other nicknames? And he said,
- 59:58yeah, Clay Bertrand and they wouldn't admit it in court and why they wouldn't,
- 1:00:05I don't know, but that really screwed years and two, Yeah,
- 1:00:10for sure. And one thing that said Scott Edwards with Ferry dyed that made
- 1:00:15Garrison desperate, and yeah, it's kind of it's kind of like it was
- 1:00:20portrayed in the JFK movie. Of course that's not one hundred percent accurate,
- 1:00:23but I mean the the Garrison kind of leaving his family and not leaving but
- 1:00:29focusing on the investigation more than his family. There was that scene where he
- 1:00:32met with Shaw on Easter Sunday, right, did not create any attention.
- 1:00:37Of course after he met with Shaw that I think shortly after he was you
- 1:00:45know, the cat was out of the bag, right, and he was
- 1:00:49being followed and in his building and all the reporters. So I definitely think,
- 1:00:55you know, we know Shaw was CIA, he was a hat agent,
- 1:01:00contract agent. He was. Yeah. I'm not saying that Garrison was
- 1:01:05wrong about Clay Shaw. I mean he may have been involved in some way
- 1:01:09of manipulating Oswald because he's definitely in the right places at the right time.
- 1:01:15And like Jack said, the Clinton witnesses who saw somebody resembling Faery and Shawl
- 1:01:22and Oswald in Jackson, Louisiana and Clinton. You know, the problem was
- 1:01:31his star witness. There was a heroin addict Vernon Bundy, not good and
- 1:01:38they just they brutalized that dude in court so and yeah, and they they
- 1:01:46brutalized other people that tried to corroborate him, like Raymond Brushers. And there's
- 1:01:52a whole other the lavender panther himself, Yes, and there's a whole other.
- 1:01:59But so Garrison, what was I gonna say? I just lost my
- 1:02:09train of thought. But uh, mister Gason, if you are looking find
- 1:02:16a day, mister Gason, let me. Yeah, I forgot I'll come
- 1:02:30back to it. But uh yeah. So this guy Raymond Broshers, who
- 1:02:38was a reverend, h bishop if you will, something like that, and
- 1:02:46he was also involved in giving testimony to the Garrison investigation. And I'm just
- 1:02:58going to read a question answer from the Garrison investigation to him. Did Dave
- 1:03:05Ferry ever talk to you about Perry Raymond Russo? This is Bhars. Yes,
- 1:03:09he never did say. Not all the names you're running off there,
- 1:03:13just Perry Russo. He mentioned the name Russo and called him numerous names.
- 1:03:17But I strongly suspect there was something there. I would only be projecting.
- 1:03:22Did David Ferry ever mention Russou in connection with Clay Shaw? For example,
- 1:03:28in an earlier interview I had with you, you told me that Russeau was
- 1:03:32somehow involved either taking money from Shaw. Yes, but that is yet to
- 1:03:38be determined. That is only what Ferry said. What did he say?
- 1:03:43He said something about it, but the point was not too clear. He
- 1:03:46had a distinct he was very upset with RUSSEO. I know he got money
- 1:03:51from I can't remember. He kind of fumbles And essentially this guy, Raymond
- 1:03:59Broushars was paramore I think that's a good word for it of David Ferries in
- 1:04:04nineteen sixty five, in nineteen sixty six, and he ended up talking with
- 1:04:12his roommate there for a little while, that's what you want to call it.
- 1:04:15Yeah, there we go, yea roommate with benefits. Yeah, And
- 1:04:19he ended up indicting saying Russo was around and a whole other people in Ferry.
- 1:04:29And there's another character that I wanted to briefly mention, and I don't
- 1:04:35know if you've seen Andrews. Dean Andrews is interesting as well. That's not
- 1:04:41who I was going to mention. But so clay Shaw actually sued, I
- 1:04:48guess counter sued maybe for defamation the Jim Garrison individually, as well as James
- 1:04:59L. Alcock and Charles Ward and a bunch of other people. And essentially
- 1:05:06when they called as Clayshaw countersuit in June of nineteen sixty eight, these the
- 1:05:15district attorneys of New Orleans Parish kind of represented each other. It was him
- 1:05:20and that guy's Scambia that you mentioned earlier. Yeah, yeah, and they
- 1:05:28yeah, they literally said we cannot say anything because there's an ongoing investigation against
- 1:05:36Clayshaw. So the counter suit, the civil action, they literally said,
- 1:05:42same reason, same response. And I went through like ten pages and the
- 1:05:47guy just said same reason, same response, and this is I think this
- 1:05:57is right. Just read Ferry told him that Russeau had gotten this money,
- 1:06:01but that it had to do with some sort of financial transaction and involved mister
- 1:06:05Shaw. So they actually accused Brochers of stealing from Clayshaw. But there was
- 1:06:12some type of transaction. Yeah, but if you know what I mean,
- 1:06:17that type of transaction probably happened, yes, yes, And they threatened him
- 1:06:24and he was in jail. He was a civil rights activist, which is
- 1:06:30a weird match for Ferry, to be honest, but you did an episode
- 1:06:33on this a while ago, and he went to jail. He had threatened
- 1:06:41LBJ and Rufus Youngblood, the Secret Service agent that I guess was close to
- 1:06:48LBJ. I read Brochers was told to report to him every time you move
- 1:06:57from one city to another, if you do not do these things, you'll
- 1:07:00be put in a federal jail, mental institution. And spoiler, that's what
- 1:07:04happened to Mercier's for a little while. So I mean you, yes,
- 1:07:12you know, we think maybe some of Russo's or you you know, a
- 1:07:15lot of Russo's story is bullshit. But like you said one day, the
- 1:07:26bullshit talks and the money walks or the right like, they don't go after
- 1:07:30people if you're spreading bullshit, you know, But they went after this guy.
- 1:07:34They're putting them in mental institutions in jail. They went after Russo as
- 1:07:40well. They're going after a lot of these people, So why would you
- 1:07:44do that if their stories aren't well. I'll tell you there's a fantastic interview
- 1:07:49out there of Raymond Burshar's from like the late sixties or early seventies when he's
- 1:07:56living in California and he's involved with the Lavender Panthers and all that stuff.
- 1:08:02And I think it's some kind of like Dick Cabot type show. I know
- 1:08:08it's not Dick Cabot, but I believe it's out there on on YouTube and
- 1:08:13it's a fantastic listen if you haven't ever heard it before. Because I said
- 1:08:19there's something going on in New Orleans and it's bad. Oh I remember what
- 1:08:29I was gonna say. Okay, yes, finally, uh So I do
- 1:08:34think that Shaw and Fairy and Banister were involved in the sheep dipping of Oswalt
- 1:08:43Right, Yes, but did that mean that they had four knowledge of the
- 1:08:48assassination. I mean, you know, Fairy and the going to what was
- 1:08:53it, Galveston the ice skating rink, and it's all very odd movements,
- 1:09:00and you got to figure, you know, if this was done by like
- 1:09:05what I think, rogue CIA people, they would have definitely not done it
- 1:09:15themselves, and they would have used people loosely associated with the CIA that had
- 1:09:21done work for them before, people like David Ferry, who was not CIA
- 1:09:29proper never a quote unquote CIA agent, no official CIA ties whatsoever. But
- 1:09:34this guy was definitely running guns and other crap into Cuba, and he was
- 1:09:42he was he could be relied upon to get the job done. And you
- 1:09:47know, if if Oswald was selected to be the fall guy, you know
- 1:09:54for all this, like I said, it started in New Orleans. And
- 1:10:00whether it was Banister, whether it was General Walker through Banister to Ferry,
- 1:10:06whether it was you know, who knows, whether it was the anti Castro
- 1:10:11Cubans. We know they were surrounding him as well. This guy had the
- 1:10:16perfect pedigree because I think somebody was putting Oswald up to portraying himself to be
- 1:10:26pro Castro and writing these letters and forming this fair Play for Cuba committee,
- 1:10:36creating the alias of aj Hydel, ordering the weapons in that name. You
- 1:10:43know, it's just you can almost see. It's like a chessboard and not
- 1:10:46the devils either, just a dirty New Orleans with lots of young boys.
- 1:10:53Daddy, daddy, daddy, like the young boys on the chess board,
- 1:11:00Russo said, Daddy, Daddy Daddy. But hold on, I wanted to
- 1:11:04say something. Did Russo sit at the end of that long dining room table.
- 1:11:12I believe you're talking about the JFK movie. That was Willy O'Keeffe.
- 1:11:15However, the Willie l Keiff character was a combination of Russo, Willie O'Keeffe
- 1:11:26for Shears, and one other guy. I'm forgetting, but I've read I
- 1:11:30read this and fun fact Rob Tom. But yeah, Perry Russo was actually
- 1:11:39in the movie. He was in the bar scene when they when Garrison is
- 1:11:46in the bar and the news comes across the JFK has been killed. Perry
- 1:11:51Russo is one of the bar patrons in that scene if you look close enough.
- 1:12:00They did not want Stone, did not want to put him in the
- 1:12:03film as a character because they would have had to really pay pay pay him
- 1:12:11and Stone wasn't really sold on his story, and I think Garrison had soured
- 1:12:19on Russo as well over the years. But they did give him a slight
- 1:12:25nod in the movie and did put him in there speaking cameo. Speaking of
- 1:12:31cameos, Rob, I message you about this and we gotta get into it.
- 1:12:35It's Martin related. Spoiler alert. But I found a new Martin,
- 1:12:45or not a new Martin or Martin. We had discovered Rob, that is
- 1:12:48in the JFK movie. You think I'm not even screwing with you. You
- 1:12:53think, No, I don't think we're gonna let it. We're gonna let
- 1:12:57the audience decide here, and uh, you know how you know how it
- 1:13:01works with photo evidence. Joe's open to an interpretation. But okay, don't
- 1:13:08be going away of Rafts and Komi here. Can you see this Rob?
- 1:13:12Yes? Okay. So I was watching JFK because I was working on my
- 1:13:16Southern accent this morning, and I saw John C. Martin as a prison
- 1:13:23god. And I looked at this guy and I was like, I know
- 1:13:27with John C. Martin. He was the head of security for the International
- 1:13:30Trademark. He was And let me know if this guy here that I just
- 1:13:36showed looks like this guy who we have talked about on our Martin shows,
- 1:13:47Bro, get out of here. That is him. That is the head
- 1:13:51of security for the trademark playing a jail guard in the JFK movie, similar
- 1:13:59to how Jerry Patrick Hemming is on the sixth Floor Lawrence Howard was. I
- 1:14:03don't know what if he played or if he was just an advisor. Bro,
- 1:14:09that is him. I'm gonna bring it back to that first one.
- 1:14:15It is crazy. And I literally paused it just to just because I was
- 1:14:23pausing here and I was like, Yo, that is the same guy.
- 1:14:29Get out of here, like that's him. So you have the yeh twenty
- 1:14:33years later with no mustang. Yeah maybe, yeah, maybe kind of looks
- 1:14:39the same weight, but yeah, he looks like sixty there made Yeah,
- 1:14:45and this is on the credits for the JFK movie. So the Martins are
- 1:14:50still alive in the late nineties. Wow, that's crazy. It's I mean,
- 1:14:57you guys could let let us know, but yeah, that's it's crazy.
- 1:15:01And yeah, that's uh, that's how I got some of my accents.
- 1:15:05Kevin Bacon, Thank you, Sugut, and thank you everyone. Yes,
