- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's Variety, Big ninety eight point seven, It's Gabe and Angie,
- 0:03Speaker 1: Sonny and fifty six Today. We wanted to know, Hey,
- 0:06Speaker 1: is there a story that is kind of hard to believe,
- 0:08Speaker 1: but it is true and it's a reason why you
- 0:10Speaker 1: missed work or school. There was one time when I
- 0:14Speaker 1: was young. I was sixteen years old, and I had
- 0:17Speaker 1: a problem with my scapula.
- 0:20Speaker 2: If you don't know what that is, it's your shoulder blade.
- 0:22Speaker 3: I did not know what that was.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Yeah, and there was something about mine that was crooked.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Now I was a decent and I'm doing the one
- 0:30Speaker 1: thing everyone has this friend right. Oh, back in high school,
- 0:34Speaker 1: I was the goat or what you know what I'm saying.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I was a pretty good baseball player in high school.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Okay, now you're trying to be humble.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Yeah, And so I don't remember exactly what it was,
- 0:45Speaker 1: but it was either the muscles in that part of
- 0:47Speaker 1: my body were like growing too fast for my bone,
- 0:51Speaker 1: or my bone was growing too fast and my muscles
- 0:53Speaker 1: weren't catching up. One of the two I don't exactly remember,
- 0:56Speaker 1: and it kind of forced my shoulder blade to get crooked.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Oh ow that sounds painful.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it was horrible trying to throw a baseball right,
- 1:04Speaker 1: and so my mom took me out of school. She
- 1:06Speaker 1: was like, hey, someone at work like knows this doctor.
- 1:08Speaker 1: We're just gonna go check out your shoulder and suit's up. Well,
- 1:11Speaker 1: it ended up being the doctor for the Minnesota Twins,
- 1:14Speaker 1: like the Twins arm doctor.
- 1:16Speaker 3: Yeah, what are they doing slumming it with you?
- 1:19Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:20Speaker 2: Right, the sixteen year old nobody.
- 1:22Speaker 1: This dude's a bajillionaire helping out guys who make five
- 1:24Speaker 1: hundred million dollars. I actually don't even I'd have to
- 1:28Speaker 1: double check. I don't think he charged us for the
- 1:30Speaker 1: visit either.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Oh well, he didn't need the money.
- 1:32Speaker 4: So when you went back to school, did you tell everybody?
- 1:35Speaker 3: And they didn't believe him.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Everyone was, you know, going to the doctor is in
- 1:38Speaker 2: that shocking.
- 1:38Speaker 1: But yeah, the fact that I got to see the
- 1:40Speaker 1: Minnesota Twins like arms specialist. At the time, no one
- 1:44Speaker 1: thought that was true. Oh man, much drove me nuts.
- 1:47Speaker 1: So I asked this question to you on Facebook. Uh, Maddie,
- 1:51Speaker 1: She said, she woke up late for school, walked out
- 1:53Speaker 1: to the car and realizes the horses got out. That
- 1:56Speaker 1: would be a nightmare. Hey, can't get to class today. Uh,
- 1:59Speaker 1: I got Bill and Ned in the front yard eating grass.
- 2:03Speaker 1: I don't know why those were my horses and they.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Just were all right.
- 2:09Speaker 1: We Also, this one is crazy and this is from William.
- 2:14Speaker 1: He said his neighbor's house was getting raided, so the
- 2:18Speaker 1: cops had to have it blocked in, which prevented him
- 2:20Speaker 1: from getting.
- 2:21Speaker 2: To work or school. I'm assuming work.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, what a great reason, right, Kristen said,
- 2:26Speaker 1: I was late because my toilet broke and it was
- 2:29Speaker 1: spraying water through the tank all over the bathroom. It
- 2:33Speaker 1: turns out the porcelain had completely worn off.
- 2:37Speaker 4: That's awful, I have when someone texted, oh, this is great.
- 2:41Speaker 4: I missed a couple of days of senior year because
- 2:43Speaker 4: I was in Austin being a part of a Shawn
- 2:46Speaker 4: Mendez music video.
- 2:48Speaker 2: That's incredible. That's amazing and one of the best story ever.
- 2:52Speaker 4: You have to then show the music video, like see
- 2:54Speaker 4: this is why here I was right here.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I'm the nineteenth extra in the corner there.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I have two more for you here, Angie, unless there's
- 3:01Speaker 1: some more text, but we do have.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Danielle. This one's kind of crazy too.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I went to the doctor for a severe headache and
- 3:10Speaker 1: ended up being admitted for brain surgery. What a boss.
- 3:15Speaker 1: I'm not gonna make it in today. I gotta get
- 3:17Speaker 1: my cranium cut open.
- 3:18Speaker 3: That is insane. And how do you like dispute that?
- 3:22Speaker 2: That's right?
- 3:22Speaker 3: A hell of a doctor's note.
- 3:24Speaker 1: And then here is a wild, wild short story from Julie.
- 3:28Speaker 2: I used I can't even get through this.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I used nail glue for eye drops and my eyes shut.
- 3:38Speaker 2: No, could you imagine?
- 3:41Speaker 1: I don't know if my dad would cry, be worried
- 3:44Speaker 1: or laugh right off the phone.
- 3:46Speaker 3: That is so embarrassing. And also like, are you okay?
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:51Speaker 1: Do you tell people that that happened? Or do you
- 3:53Speaker 1: try to lie? Is that when you fib about it?
- 3:55Speaker 3: No, that's what you call in and you go, I'm sick.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Today's variety Big ninety eight point seven.
- 4:02Speaker 1: It's Gave and Angie Today we're gonna have a great
- 4:04Speaker 1: day mostly Sonny and fifty six. We like starting the
- 4:07Speaker 1: show off with positivity, on a happy, positive note, with
- 4:10Speaker 1: little victories. And you have a little victory from yesterday,
- 4:15Speaker 1: this morning, maybe earlier this week that you forgot you
- 4:18Speaker 1: know what.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Your little victory yesterday inspired me. So yesterday you said
- 4:23Speaker 4: that you started a book.
- 4:25Speaker 3: You started The Hunger Games, right.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I've seen those movies like a thousand times.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I'm finally reading the first book, listening to the first
- 4:33Speaker 1: book kind of half and a half.
- 4:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:35Speaker 4: So I started listening to a book that I had
- 4:38Speaker 4: put in my audible library because I thought, oh, if
- 4:42Speaker 4: Gabe can start a book.
- 4:43Speaker 3: So can I.
- 4:44Speaker 4: So now I'm listening to how to Giggle by page
- 4:47Speaker 4: disorbo and Hand.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Yeah. What what's that book about?
- 4:52Speaker 4: It's how to Take Life Less Seriously Okay, And I
- 4:56Speaker 4: feel like, at this point in my life, I need that.
- 4:59Speaker 2: I like that for you.
- 5:00Speaker 4: Cool. Yeah, So thank you for inspiring my little victory, Gabe.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I appreciate Hey, right on, I'm glad I could be
- 5:05Speaker 1: of assistance. My little victory actually is kind of a
- 5:09Speaker 1: big victory, the Minnesota Wild one. When I woke up
- 5:11Speaker 1: this morning because I couldn't watch the game. When I
- 5:14Speaker 1: woke up this morning, there is nothing better than when
- 5:16Speaker 1: you fall asleep during a game and you're kind of
- 5:19Speaker 1: not anxious because it's not like I'm playing, but I
- 5:21Speaker 1: want them to win.
- 5:22Speaker 2: You know, I'm a big Wild fan.
- 5:23Speaker 1: I'm a big hockey guy and there's nothing better than
- 5:26Speaker 1: when I woke up this morning kind of tired because
- 5:28Speaker 1: I was up a little bit late checking the scores,
- 5:31Speaker 1: and when you just see a dominating WI year. So
- 5:35Speaker 1: that really when right when I woke up, I was
- 5:37Speaker 1: in a great mood. I was like, all right, I
- 5:38Speaker 1: can exist today with some cheer good.
- 5:41Speaker 3: I love this for you.
- 5:43Speaker 1: So not necessarily a little victory, but a big victory
- 5:46Speaker 1: for the wild that I woke up in a better
- 5:48Speaker 1: mood than if they would have lost a seven oh
- 5:50Speaker 1: one two eight zero one, nine eighty seven. If you
- 5:53Speaker 1: ever want to share a little victory, let us know
- 5:55Speaker 1: we love hearing from you. We love hearing those little
- 5:57Speaker 1: positivities from your day, your week, your month, or year,
- 6:00Speaker 1: whatever the case may be, and we'd love to share
- 6:03Speaker 1: some more of those here on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Today's variety, Big ninety eight point seven. It's gave an angie.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Today's gonna be great, mostly sunny, a high of fifty six.
- 6:14Speaker 4: If you woke up today and you were just doom
- 6:17Speaker 4: scrolling and staring at your ceiling and thinking, oh, I
- 6:21Speaker 4: do not want to go to work today.
- 6:24Speaker 1: If you did the old wake up and said to yourself.
- 6:27Speaker 1: You know, do I really need this job? Or is
- 6:29Speaker 1: today the day I hop a train in head to
- 6:32Speaker 1: Bermuda exactly?
- 6:35Speaker 3: On a train, okay, who else?
- 6:37Speaker 2: Or on no plane train?
- 6:39Speaker 4: However, you want to do whatever you need, you need
- 6:42Speaker 4: this hack in your life. I found the most genius
- 6:44Speaker 4: way to call out of work, so I'm sharing it
- 6:47Speaker 4: with you.
- 6:49Speaker 1: All right, So what this lady is doing? Well, absolutely,
- 6:53Speaker 1: I'll care first, Okay.
- 6:55Speaker 3: I'll be able to come in today.
- 6:58Speaker 4: They running tests right now, they're doing an IVY and
- 7:03Speaker 4: I will let y'all know what's going on with me
- 7:06Speaker 4: once I leave the hospital.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Now it sounds super serious, but of course it's not.
- 7:11Speaker 4: She's just hitting a button on the microwaves, which is genius.
- 7:16Speaker 3: This is the best thing I've ever heard of. It
- 7:19Speaker 3: sounds so real, Yes it does.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Yeah, if you haven't timed like perfectly, yeah.
- 7:26Speaker 4: As long as you don't accidentally hit start, you're good
- 7:29Speaker 4: to go.
- 7:29Speaker 3: So if you are, you know, I think you have time.
- 7:32Speaker 4: If you're getting ready for work and you really don't
- 7:34Speaker 4: want to go, stop what you're doing. Just go to
- 7:38Speaker 4: your kitchen, get the microwave ready, and call out of work.
- 7:42Speaker 3: You're welcome.
- 7:42Speaker 1: You thought heating up those leftovers might be your free
- 7:45Speaker 1: out of going to work. Today Today's variety Big ninety
- 7:51Speaker 1: eight point sevens Game and Angie. Mostly sunny today and
- 7:55Speaker 1: a high of fifty six. Not as warm as yesterday,
- 7:57Speaker 1: but still a pretty nice day for us. And I
- 8:00Speaker 1: discovered yesterday I might get something off my bucket list covered.
- 8:05Speaker 2: For this summer or whatever.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Angie and I were talking and I was kind of
- 8:09Speaker 1: planning out some stuff we wanted to maybe do this summer,
- 8:12Speaker 1: and I'd mentioned like, oh, I finally probably get to
- 8:14Speaker 1: go to Montana. And then I was thinking, like, oh
- 8:16Speaker 1: my god, that's kind of a bucket list item for me.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Why is it a bucket list item. I have no idea.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I've just always wanted to go.
- 8:23Speaker 4: There, And so now you, I mean, you're super close
- 8:26Speaker 4: the drive for years, not far.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Not far, And it has nothing to do with like
- 8:30Speaker 1: yellow Stone or anything like that, the show. I just
- 8:33Speaker 1: ever since I was in college. I was like, you know,
- 8:35Speaker 1: I gotta get to Montana and I've never made it there.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 8:38Speaker 4: You know what, because you've just had this feeling about it,
- 8:41Speaker 4: I feel like something major is going to happen for
- 8:43Speaker 4: you in Montana.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I think that'd be sick. Yeah, or maybe I'll go there.
- 8:47Speaker 1: It'll be a complete letdown and I'll hate it, But
- 8:49Speaker 1: I still can say I've been.
- 8:51Speaker 4: I have my bucket LISTA I would have to travel
- 8:54Speaker 4: way farther. It's that island in the Bahamas, Pig Island.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Sure you can just go swimming with all the pigs.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. The very first time I ever saw
- 9:04Speaker 3: this was years ago on a like a YouTube video.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I need to get to that island, Gabe.
- 9:10Speaker 4: I feel like that I'd be one with my kind
- 9:14Speaker 4: swimming with pigs.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Is there something on your bucket list you think you
- 9:21Speaker 1: might be able to get done this summer or you
- 9:22Speaker 1: just want to share something on your bucket list?
- 9:24Speaker 2: You know what?
- 9:24Speaker 1: Also, something I really want to learn to do at
- 9:26Speaker 1: some point in my life is play the piano.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Oh, I know how to play like the Super Mario
- 9:32Speaker 4: theme on the piano.
- 9:32Speaker 3: I'll show you.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's pretty cool. All right, Heather, what's
- 9:36Speaker 1: something on your bucket list? I want to crash a
- 9:39Speaker 1: super fancy party that I definitely wasn't invited to, you know,
- 9:42Speaker 1: the Tucks champagne, the whole thing, just to see if
- 9:45Speaker 1: I could pull it off. That actually sounds incredible genius.
- 9:49Speaker 1: That sounds so much fun. All you gotta do is
- 9:52Speaker 1: dress up and you're good to go. Yeah, dress up,
- 9:54Speaker 1: walk in like you are supposed to be there. Yeah,
- 9:57Speaker 1: somebody important. Maybe even just carry like a fake briefcase,
- 10:01Speaker 1: like basically everything I do when we do stuff for
- 10:04Speaker 1: the eight point seven and I'm just trying to get
- 10:06Speaker 1: into something.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Tighty big ninety eight point seven.
- 10:11Speaker 1: It's gave an Angie partly Sonny a high of fifty
- 10:14Speaker 1: six today. And Angie is finally getting settled in here.
- 10:17Speaker 1: She's been to Fargo. You have a place in the
- 10:20Speaker 1: South Fargo area. You're in the FM area. You've been
- 10:23Speaker 1: here for about a month, and all the hooplav just moving.
- 10:27Speaker 1: You know, if you're someone who's moved or moved to
- 10:30Speaker 1: a different part of the country, different part of the state, wherever,
- 10:33Speaker 1: you know how that can feel. And you get finally
- 10:37Speaker 1: settled in, You're like, Okay, I'm starting to feel back
- 10:40Speaker 1: like an original person, not someone who goes to work
- 10:42Speaker 1: really quick for my new job and then sprints home
- 10:45Speaker 1: to do one thousand things to get my life back
- 10:47Speaker 1: on the tracks exactly so.
- 10:49Speaker 3: But now I've hit the point of.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Now what yeah, I or born?
- 10:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I need to know, like what do I need
- 10:56Speaker 4: to be doing to get connected in the FM area
- 10:59Speaker 4: to really be a local?
- 11:00Speaker 3: I need help?
- 11:01Speaker 1: Yeah, and you know the weather is starting to warm
- 11:04Speaker 1: on up, so you'll be able to get out and
- 11:05Speaker 1: do a little bit more.
- 11:06Speaker 2: You'll be able to hit up the patios for that part.
- 11:09Speaker 3: What patios should I be going?
- 11:11Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 11:11Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and we uh we got called from Sarah.
- 11:13Speaker 1: I think Sarah has some great advice here. This is
- 11:15Speaker 1: pretty cool. I wouldn't want to just walk around with
- 11:18Speaker 1: no maps, just getting lost on purpose, because that's the
- 11:21Speaker 1: way you find those weird hitting gems that nobody tells
- 11:24Speaker 1: you about it.
- 11:25Speaker 2: That's fantastic advice.
- 11:26Speaker 1: You get downtown on University or something, you just start
- 11:29Speaker 1: walking up and down or or on First or whatever.
- 11:32Speaker 1: You just walk up and down the street. You'll eventually
- 11:34Speaker 1: run into something that.
- 11:35Speaker 3: Say, Gabe, I can't do that. I have no sense
- 11:37Speaker 3: of direction.
- 11:38Speaker 4: I would get lost and you'll never see me again.
- 11:45Speaker 1: It's righty big ninety eight point seven. It's Gabe and
- 11:47Speaker 1: a G fifty six, and we do get some sun today.
- 11:49Speaker 1: We should have an excellent day, just like yesterday. Some
- 11:53Speaker 1: good and I have some Gabes good news of the
- 11:55Speaker 1: day for you. This story is incredible as well. We've
- 11:58Speaker 1: been on a decent run of good news Gabe's good
- 12:00Speaker 1: news stories and this involves twins. One of them is
- 12:05Speaker 1: named Sandy, and she met her biological sister, Renee, for
- 12:09Speaker 1: the first time after being separated for decades. Sandy, who
- 12:14Speaker 1: was given up for adoption as an infant, now lives
- 12:17Speaker 1: in Virginia and was unaware she even had a sister
- 12:20Speaker 1: until very recently, while Renee has spent years searching for
- 12:25Speaker 1: her sibling, even hiring a private investigator. When the sisters
- 12:29Speaker 1: met in person in Illinois, so in the Midwest here,
- 12:32Speaker 1: it was the first time they'd ever laid eyes on
- 12:35Speaker 1: one another.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Sandy Yeah.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Sandy has uploaded her DNA to several genetic testing websites
- 12:43Speaker 1: and had almost given up hope. Then a few weeks
- 12:45Speaker 1: ago she was considering deleting her DNA profile just totally.
- 12:50Speaker 1: She received a message from her first cousin that led
- 12:53Speaker 1: to the discovery of her sister. Following several phone calls,
- 12:57Speaker 1: they confirmed their connection and made plans to meet, but
- 12:59Speaker 1: they chose not to meet through a video call. They
- 13:02Speaker 1: wanted their first encounter to be in person. Oh this
- 13:04Speaker 1: is sweet, very beautiful. Despite still not knowing why she
- 13:08Speaker 1: was given up for adoption, Sandy is overjoyed to have
- 13:12Speaker 1: found Renee. The sisters made a plan to get the
- 13:15Speaker 1: entire family together, including both biological parents. As Renee says,
- 13:20Speaker 1: she had dreamed of this day and is happy to
- 13:22Speaker 1: begin a new journey with her sister.
- 13:25Speaker 2: That's gotta be.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Obviously tough, but also one of the most exciting, rewarding
- 13:30Speaker 1: moments of your life.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Yes, I have a sister.
- 13:33Speaker 4: We're not twins, but we're very close in age, and
- 13:35Speaker 4: she's my best friend and I'm obsessed with her and
- 13:37Speaker 4: we love each other so much. And how exciting if
- 13:41Speaker 4: you're going through life and then all of a sudden like,
- 13:44Speaker 4: oh my gosh, wait, I have a sister, a twin
- 13:46Speaker 4: that's like a built in bestie.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Oh, I'm so excited for these ladies.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Now. Would be wild if they ended up absolutely hating
- 13:53Speaker 2: each other.
- 13:54Speaker 1: But it's very sweet that you just have a yeah,
- 13:58Speaker 1: a built in partner for life.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Now.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Yeah. I love stories like that, and that's why I
- 14:03Speaker 1: tell them to you here. I'm big ninety eight point
- 14:05Speaker 1: seven for games, good news of the day. The world's
- 14:07Speaker 1: full of nice people. If you can't find one, you
- 14:09Speaker 1: gotta be one. Ed Sheeran and Khalid is gonna be
- 14:13Speaker 1: odd now. Beautiful stories for beautiful people. See what I
- 14:16Speaker 1: did there. That's the name of the song. It's Big
- 14:18Speaker 1: ninety eight point seven.
