- 0:00Welcome back, everyone. Today, we're zooming
- 0:02in on a major infrastructure milestone out of
- 0:05Dubai. Yeah. It was officially announced on August
- 0:099th, 2026. It's a great topic. We're looking
- 0:13at the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority.
- 0:16Right. Which is known as DIWA. And in just the
- 0:20first half of 2026 alone. Wow. DEWA commissioned
- 0:25an astonishing 793 new 11KV substations across
- 0:31the Emirate. Just think about the logistics of
- 0:34that for a second. I mean, to get 793 substations
- 0:38up and running in six months requires a monumental
- 0:41effort. Seriously? In fact, the construction
- 0:45and associated works involved over 624 ,340 man
- 0:51-hours. And it's not just about building fast,
- 0:54you know, it's about building well. Right. All
- 0:57of those man hours were completed under highly
- 1:00stringent quality, efficiency, and safety standards.
- 1:04Mm -hmm. It's a direct response to Dubai's rapid
- 1:07urban growth. Exactly. To really capture the
- 1:11vision behind this massive project, I want to
- 1:13read the official statement. Okay. Here is the
- 1:17exact quote from His Excellency Saeed Mohammed
- 1:19Al -Tayr, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and
- 1:23Water Authority. He said, We continue our growth
- 1:26path to keep pace with the continuous expansion
- 1:28of new residential areas, commercial centers,
- 1:32investment projects, and business hubs in Dubai.
- 1:35We aim to anticipate future growth requirements
- 1:38and consolidate the Emirates' position as one
- 1:40of the leading cities globally in developing
- 1:43advanced infrastructure that ensures the highest
- 1:46levels of quality of life. Makes sense. We adopt
- 1:49the latest global technologies to maintain the
- 1:52highest levels of performance, driving sustainable
- 1:54economic and urban growth for decades to come
- 1:57and keeping Diwa at the forefront of utilities
- 2:00worldwide. Diwa recorded the world's lowest customer
- 2:05minutes lost for electricity, averaging just
- 2:070 .82 minutes per customer annually. Incredible.
- 2:11While Diwa's electricity transmission and distribution
- 2:14losses stand at 2 % and remain the lowest globally.
- 2:18Thank you for sharing that full statement. Those
- 2:21statistics he mentioned at the very end are just
- 2:23incredible. Yeah. Averaging a mere 0 .82 minutes?
- 2:29Like, less than a single minute of lost electricity
- 2:32per customer annually. Right. And maintaining
- 2:35electricity transmission and distribution losses
- 2:38at just 2%. Hmm. It perfectly illustrates how
- 2:42they are managing to keep Diwa at the global
- 2:44forefront of utilities. Definitely. Even while
- 2:48expanding at such a rapid pace to support new
- 2:50residential and business hubs. It truly sets
- 2:53a global benchmark for what advanced city infrastructure
- 2:56can achieve. It certainly does. Now, here's a
- 3:00question we'd like you to think about. Go ahead.
- 3:03As cities around the world continue to expand,
- 3:06how will achieving this extreme level of utility
- 3:09efficiency shape our global future?
