- 0:00Speaker 1: Uh, so we're back with Victoria and the real housewives
- 0:05Speaker 1: of the Wives of Mormon WI all the wives. Now
- 0:10Speaker 1: you there was something you wanted. You wanted to talk
- 0:13Speaker 1: a little bit about Taylor, Frankie Paul not being charged.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I will. Mainly, I mean this is I'm like,
- 0:20Speaker 2: I think this means we're going to get the bachelorette.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Because the concern was right about the charges being brought.
- 0:25Speaker 2: I wonder if this means we're going to get this.
- 0:28Speaker 2: So I'm looking, I'm waiting for that announcement, is what
- 0:30Speaker 2: I think it's coming next.
- 0:31Speaker 1: I don't know, is there just still too much though
- 0:33Speaker 1: surrounding the fact that there is video of her throwing
- 0:36Speaker 1: chairs and hitting her kid in the head.
- 0:38Speaker 2: That possibly the thing is though, like the that incident
- 0:43Speaker 2: has already has been dealt with, you know, And so
- 0:46Speaker 2: I guess it depends. That's a good point on like
- 0:48Speaker 2: what the pr is on that. And then I mean again,
- 0:50Speaker 2: one of the things definitely now we're talking about is
- 0:51Speaker 2: the redemption story. There could be an opportunity, this really
- 0:54Speaker 2: could be a redemption for that. But I mean, technically
- 0:57Speaker 2: that incident was that's what she was serving approbation for,
- 1:00Speaker 2: so I think or he still is. So you know,
- 1:03Speaker 2: if you do the crime and you do the time,
- 1:06Speaker 2: do we let how to let people move on?
- 1:08Speaker 1: I don't know. You're an attorney, you tell me we.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Need to let people move on, But I don't know
- 1:12Speaker 2: that looks. You'll see the show and it'll be huge.
- 1:17Speaker 1: It'll be huge ratings and a lot of money.
- 1:19Speaker 3: For Hulu, and you know, and the other show though,
- 1:24Speaker 3: Real Housewives of Salt Lake, So Jen Shaw is out.
- 1:28Speaker 3: I don't know if you guys talked about this one,
- 1:29Speaker 3: but yeah, yeah, but she did a big interview with
- 1:34Speaker 3: People magazine and there's a big photo spread with.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Her and and and.
- 1:39Speaker 3: And Shreef and her whole family. And now you've said
- 1:43Speaker 3: before that you think that Andy Cohne would never have
- 1:47Speaker 3: her back on Real Housewives.
- 1:50Speaker 2: No, And I think that's why she had to do
- 1:51Speaker 2: the People route. I think I think because that she
- 1:54Speaker 2: went that route to do her coming out of prison
- 1:56Speaker 2: story because of a perfect example is Karen from Real
- 1:59Speaker 2: Housewives Potomac. She had a very bad DUI incident last year.
- 2:04Speaker 2: The whole thing's caught on camera. She says horrible things.
- 2:07Speaker 2: She's really out of it, and her coming out of
- 2:11Speaker 2: when done the Herd time he did an interview. Andy
- 2:14Speaker 2: Comen did an interview with Karen. And so they're very
- 2:16Speaker 2: different in my mind, and I'm not just how they
- 2:19Speaker 2: talk about it at to Bravo. They're different types of offense.
- 2:23Speaker 2: You know, Karen hurt herself and that luckily her husband
- 2:25Speaker 2: wasn't hurt in that in that incident, and this is
- 2:29Speaker 2: her way to make herself look better. And I maintained
- 2:32Speaker 2: that like jen Shaw had like real like not real,
- 2:36Speaker 2: but she had very specific victims that we can point
- 2:38Speaker 2: to and we're not just talking about her and it
- 2:40Speaker 2: would be purely for her own her own benefit to
- 2:44Speaker 2: get that. And so to me, the fact that people
- 2:46Speaker 2: did this and no one else would says what that says,
- 2:49Speaker 2: that's to me that's probably making a statement about that.
- 2:51Speaker 1: Yeah, so let's let's talk about your time here in Feltlake.
- 2:55Speaker 1: You came to Salt Lake last Friday to be on
- 2:58Speaker 1: a symposium, a panel at the Humanities Department up that
- 3:03Speaker 1: we are a Utah University of Utah and you were
- 3:06Speaker 1: on the invited to be on that panel. Talk about
- 3:09Speaker 1: your experience and what else you saw there.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Yeah, it was I'll say they put on a great event.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I posted pictures on my Instagram at Judge mpath if
- 3:18Speaker 2: you want to go check that out. You can see
- 3:19Speaker 2: they rid a lot of thought into the event. They
- 3:21Speaker 2: they made name tags you could put on, They had
- 3:23Speaker 2: a step and repeat. They brought wigs so you could
- 3:26Speaker 2: like go take pictures. They made these signs of different
- 3:29Speaker 2: quotable quotes from the housewives, and so yeah. So the
- 3:32Speaker 2: panel I was invited to be on was I would say,
- 3:35Speaker 2: like the least academic ye a type of panel. And
- 3:38Speaker 2: so it was me and a gentleman from the Arts
- 3:40Speaker 2: Council and then there was a professor and then a
- 3:45Speaker 2: student from Westminster and we were there to set the
- 3:48Speaker 2: stage for you know, the lens, the different lenses that
- 3:51Speaker 2: we bring to the Housewives, and so that was really interesting.
- 3:54Speaker 2: And so we had some time to talk about and
- 3:56Speaker 2: one of the things they asked me about was by
- 3:58Speaker 2: living here in Chicago, because you know, they're in the
- 4:01Speaker 2: Utah bubble, you know, what is it like outside? And
- 4:05Speaker 2: one of the stories I shared was that I was
- 4:07Speaker 2: at the gym one time and there was this woman
- 4:10Speaker 2: who had just gotten done with her workout. She's holding
- 4:12Speaker 2: her phone and she's trying to change, and she's watching
- 4:14Speaker 2: the Greek tragedy episode of the Real Housewives of Saltlake
- 4:17Speaker 2: City and she can't put her phone down. She's trying
- 4:19Speaker 2: to change and navigate her walker and she cannot put
- 4:22Speaker 2: this phone down because she's so engaged. And then, and then,
- 4:26Speaker 2: and then the Tribune published an article summarizing the event,
- 4:30Speaker 2: and it shares the other story that I shared again,
- 4:33Speaker 2: someone seeing my bad mormonsterre and starting a conversation with
- 4:36Speaker 2: me about the show. And so it shows, you know,
- 4:38Speaker 2: the interest in outside of Utah and non Mormons like
- 4:41Speaker 2: they're interest in it. So so that was great opportunity.
- 4:43Speaker 2: And then I really appreciate all the fans and friends
- 4:46Speaker 2: of the program. I got to me it was so
- 4:47Speaker 2: neat to talk to you in person and to connect
- 4:50Speaker 2: not only over the radio from hell but also over
- 4:52Speaker 2: the Housewives. It was it's just need to bring that together.
- 4:56Speaker 2: And then the different panels. The article that Sha Means
- 4:59Speaker 2: wrote is great because it summarizes, it does a great
- 5:02Speaker 2: job cash to eat the different sessions to get a
- 5:04Speaker 2: sense of beagrit, reminder what happened, what happened. The thing
- 5:07Speaker 2: I want to say that I think is the thing
- 5:09Speaker 2: that no one else would say, but Victoria will say
- 5:11Speaker 2: those things. Was there was a presenter who was supposed
- 5:15Speaker 2: to talk about the fashion of the Real Housewives, and
- 5:19Speaker 2: I think she I forgot her her biography and if
- 5:21Speaker 2: you'll look at the agenda, you can go look her up.
- 5:24Speaker 2: But one of my one of my complaints is she
- 5:26Speaker 2: has a true disdain for the housewives. You could see
- 5:29Speaker 2: like how much she did not like these women. She
- 5:32Speaker 2: thought they were ridiculous, and she was analyzing their fashion
- 5:36Speaker 2: and she basically, well she she showed this picture of
- 5:39Speaker 2: Bronwin and she called her a call girl. She said
- 5:41Speaker 2: she don't like a call girl, which I was like,
- 5:43Speaker 2: this is slut shaming and fashion has changed. This woman
- 5:48Speaker 2: was a woman of a certain age and I don't
- 5:50Speaker 2: know if that informed her fashion, but she thought she
- 5:52Speaker 2: was the fashion expert, and I didn't appreciate. And I
- 5:54Speaker 2: feel like, I don't know, I don't know if Tanner humanity,
- 5:56Speaker 2: if that person was vetted. But we were there to
- 5:59Speaker 2: get gave her and sharing our fandom and affection for
- 6:01Speaker 2: the Real Housewives, and to have a presenter like that
- 6:04Speaker 2: was really interesting and a lot of us were hoping
- 6:06Speaker 2: to hear more about the fashion and not just like
- 6:08Speaker 2: making fun of it.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Well, aside from her for perhaps slut shaming, yes, aside
- 6:18Speaker 1: from that, she apparently was the only one there who
- 6:21Speaker 1: had any taste at all and didn't like the show.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Stop it did.
- 6:28Speaker 1: How did the audience react to That's what I want
- 6:30Speaker 1: to do When she said that, it was it.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Was quiet, you know I I My thought is us
- 6:37Speaker 2: all being very polite and kind didn't want to say anything.
- 6:40Speaker 2: And that's why I'm saying this for all of you
- 6:42Speaker 2: who were in attendance and maybe didn't want to say
- 6:44Speaker 2: the thing. It wasn't cool. And the group I was
- 6:48Speaker 2: almost in my family that I was with, we that
- 6:50Speaker 2: was what we observed, were like, we didn't appreciate that,
- 6:52Speaker 2: and so but that I'll be curious that anybody had
- 6:54Speaker 2: any feedback about that. But other than that, it was
- 6:57Speaker 2: It was so interesting. And at the very end, they
- 7:00Speaker 2: had a panel that was basically simulating a watch party,
- 7:04Speaker 2: and so they had different students come up and they
- 7:07Speaker 2: would show a clip and they would have us participate
- 7:09Speaker 2: by putting up a survey and reacting to different h
- 7:13Speaker 2: like things happening, and so it was really the way
- 7:15Speaker 2: they set it up was just really thoughtful, and they
- 7:17Speaker 2: gave us all such great swag. They had these mugs,
- 7:20Speaker 2: the insulated wine tumblers, and they did such a great
- 7:24Speaker 2: job like putting something on. And I know we couldn't
- 7:26Speaker 2: do this all the time, but you know, I hope
- 7:28Speaker 2: there's an opportunity to do something like this is fantastic
- 7:30Speaker 2: bring fans together.
- 7:31Speaker 1: I'm looking at a picture here. I think Stephanie posted
- 7:33Speaker 1: this on our in our chat room. A picture of
- 7:35Speaker 1: you on the panel and you're wearing your bad Mormon sweatshirt. Yeah,
- 7:41Speaker 1: and you you are so you were here in the
- 7:44Speaker 1: studio and your hair is wild. You you had you
- 7:47Speaker 1: looked like a You look like a wild woman when
- 7:50Speaker 1: you were here. You know, your hair just goes everywhere
- 7:52Speaker 1: and and uh and yeah, and you have tattoos. And
- 7:57Speaker 1: here you look like a school teacher. Your hair is
- 8:00Speaker 1: all back in a bum and you're wearing glasses and
- 8:04Speaker 1: you're wearing a plaid skirt instead. Well, you should have
- 8:09Speaker 1: seen her here in the studio looked at different. What
- 8:13Speaker 1: what what is the first thing I said to you
- 8:15Speaker 1: on the radio when you were here.
- 8:17Speaker 2: You said, you said it was very cute.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I said, you are so damn cute. And here you
- 8:23Speaker 1: are just looking cute in a different way. You look
- 8:25Speaker 1: like a different person.
- 8:27Speaker 2: No, I get that a lot because of what I
- 8:29Speaker 2: do with my hair. So the first thing I'll say
- 8:30Speaker 2: is for those of us that know code switching is
- 8:32Speaker 2: a thing. And then and then I you know, I
- 8:36Speaker 2: do like to. I did curate each outfit for as
- 8:40Speaker 2: a housewife, as a proper housewife does. I curated the
- 8:43Speaker 2: right outfit for the right crowd, all right. I knew
- 8:47Speaker 2: people would love that sweatshirt and no one else thrust out.
- 8:49Speaker 2: I'll say that for the event too. I thought people
- 8:51Speaker 2: were going to come up in their Housewives swag. I
- 8:53Speaker 2: think I was the only person that like really showed
- 8:55Speaker 2: up in like housewives guards. So I had to go there.
- 8:58Speaker 2: But yes, and and then also personally hard hard to
- 9:00Speaker 2: pack all that product for the curls, you know, although
- 9:04Speaker 2: I did see it.
- 9:04Speaker 1: I did see a picture of the moderator, Ben Winslow
- 9:08Speaker 1: wearing wearing a pioneer bonbit with his suit.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Well, he's just he's adorable.
- 9:13Speaker 1: He is adorable.
- 9:14Speaker 2: He did a great job, and he was there throughout
- 9:16Speaker 2: the whole event. He did such a great job bringing
- 9:18Speaker 2: the energy and and keeping things going. So no. They
- 9:22Speaker 2: did such a great job at the event.
- 9:23Speaker 1: We knew Ben Winslow back when he was a very
- 9:26Speaker 1: young reporter with purple hair's right, yeah, well we talk
- 9:31Speaker 1: about switching. Victoria.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Nice.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Always nice to hear from you. We'll talk to you
- 9:37Speaker 1: about next week, I guess and right, thank you, bye bye,
- 9:41Speaker 1: Judge at Judge GM Path.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Right, yes, yes, yes, yes, ill me on Instagram. Thanks
- 9:46Speaker 2: so much, guys, Thank you, Victoria
