- 0:01Speaker 1: figure sus Man has in the background.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Let's go This ain't really even it. I'm gonna be
- 0:06Speaker 2: I'm not even gonna lie, man, this ain't even it.
- 0:08Speaker 2: I went to storage to go get them, and I
- 0:11Speaker 2: missed one box, and then I looked online on how
- 0:15Speaker 2: much these bad boys are worth. Holy shit, I bought
- 0:18Speaker 2: these almost ten years ago. These things are worth so
- 0:22Speaker 2: much money right now. Side show. I'm trying to bude you.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I saw an article saying people who invested in Star
- 0:30Speaker 1: Wars Legos like smartly or Legos smartly. Actually they're more
- 0:35Speaker 1: valuable than most stocks.
- 0:38Speaker 3: I have.
- 0:40Speaker 2: A warehouse like the Indiana Jones at Raiders that are
- 0:44Speaker 2: lost arc. You remember the end of that movie. I
- 0:47Speaker 2: got a warehouse of Lego in storage somewhere.
- 0:52Speaker 1: So when are you going to sell it?
- 0:54Speaker 2: When the stock hits matt, when everybody's like sell, sell,
- 0:58Speaker 2: sell morning, I want it. Yeah, listen, I turned fifty.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Let's just jump into it.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Let's jump into it. Fifty years old.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Fifty best mate, My best friend bought me two heads
- 1:18Speaker 2: to animate and the heads with replaceable mouths. What and
- 1:24Speaker 2: eyes are of me? And Zach braf.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that's cute.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Well let's tell you. I see I always see how
- 1:33Speaker 1: much he's doing his stop motion animation and using these
- 1:38Speaker 1: really cool looking heads. So I track down the guy
- 1:41Speaker 1: who makes these heads.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Julian Clark. What's up, bro?
- 1:44Speaker 1: You get a Julian Julian Clark, I guess is his name.
- 1:47Speaker 1: And he's very talented. And I said, as I'm sure
- 1:51Speaker 1: you know Donald Faison is your biggest fan. Can you please?
- 1:55Speaker 1: You know what? Can you make a head for me?
- 1:58Speaker 1: Of me and Donald? And he's like, oh man, for Donald,
- 2:01Speaker 1: I'll race those through for his birthday and he's in
- 2:04Speaker 1: the UK, but he shipped them and now Donald can
- 2:07Speaker 1: animate with our heads when he does his animation.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Crazy.
- 2:12Speaker 1: They're really cool. You should do like I was thinking.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I was hoping you would do like clips from the podcast.
- 2:20Speaker 2: All right, I would love to do that, but you
- 2:21Speaker 2: guys have to choose the clips, because well you can
- 2:25Speaker 2: choose you as as Scrubs goes, you know, when it
- 2:29Speaker 2: comes to listening and watching the show, I've only done
- 2:33Speaker 2: it once.
- 2:34Speaker 1: And no I'm saying it again. No, I'm saying I
- 2:38Speaker 1: don't mean from Scrubs. I mean you could think of
- 2:40Speaker 1: a funny moment from the podcast, and do it?
- 2:43Speaker 2: Can you think of a funny moment?
- 2:46Speaker 1: Well, you know what I want to do.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I know exactly what I can do.
- 2:49Speaker 1: You just copy the with the girl with the voices
- 2:53Speaker 1: artist Chico always thinking the same thing. Just just copy
- 2:57Speaker 1: Cheeko Artists because she always picks good clips.
- 3:01Speaker 2: She gets great clips.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Yeah, Chico artists. Though, I was thinking, remember the one
- 3:05Speaker 1: when we were talking about our our vast deference and
- 3:09Speaker 1: when you got your tubes tied.
- 3:11Speaker 2: I do remember getting my tubes tied, and we.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Were putting our hands on our balls and trying to
- 3:15Speaker 1: feel our vast deference.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I can feel my vast deference.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I know that's came up. So I was thinking that
- 3:21Speaker 1: maybe that could be a good clip. You can animate
- 3:24Speaker 1: our two puppets talking about trying to feel our vast deferences.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's a lot of grabbing the cock area.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I know, but it would be funny the puppet that
- 3:34Speaker 1: both puppets putting their hands down and feeling their balls
- 3:37Speaker 1: and trying to feel each other. No, that's that's not
- 3:41Speaker 1: what we said. We weren't feeling each other's I go
- 3:44Speaker 1: donald touch a ball, such a balls and then you go, okay,
- 3:47Speaker 1: I'm grabbing them.
- 3:47Speaker 2: I'm okay, we' all right, bet we're going to do that.
- 3:50Speaker 1: And there was another word we couldn't pronounce. I forgot
- 3:52Speaker 1: what it was. It was. It was it was some
- 3:56Speaker 1: piece of the anatomy. Remember Dane looked it up online.
- 3:58Speaker 1: The different intricacy of the testicles.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Dude, I'm gonna be honest with you. I don't remember.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I was stone.
- 4:05Speaker 1: This can be oh man. Anyway, Donald had a nice
- 4:08Speaker 1: birthday party. He was he was really worried that he
- 4:12Speaker 1: wasn't gonna have a party at all, and he had
- 4:13Speaker 1: an amazing party with a barbecue truck and a Holy
- 4:17Speaker 1: Grail Donuts truck and all his loved ones. It was
- 4:22Speaker 1: very nice.
- 4:24Speaker 2: It was wonderful and I a you happy to truly
- 4:27Speaker 2: truly appreciate everyone who came through. It was great to
- 4:30Speaker 2: see Bill Lawrence, Randa Winston, John Crier. I love you guys,
- 4:38Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 4:39Speaker 1: John, John c.
- 4:41Speaker 2: McGinley came all the way from the other side of
- 4:43Speaker 2: the earth to get here.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Well. People love you, man. People showed up for you,
- 4:49Speaker 1: and I love them. It was a nice party.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a nice party. It was nice.
- 4:53Speaker 1: To see all your family. I haven't seen your family
- 4:55Speaker 1: in a while.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Your mom, my dad was up in the place.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Crazy brothers.
- 5:01Speaker 2: My brothers smoked a lot of weed with my brothers
- 5:03Speaker 2: this weekend and that was fun.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Yeah. I didn't know that your secret weed smoking spot
- 5:12Speaker 1: was the animation room. I guess it all makes sense.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that's how you get away from everyone. Yeah,
- 5:19Speaker 2: I'm gonna say something. I was my animation room is
- 5:22Speaker 2: so dirty right now, and I was so nervous about
- 5:25Speaker 2: people seeing it because I don't want this to be
- 5:27Speaker 2: a reflection of who I am, you know. And so
- 5:30Speaker 2: when I remember you walked in and you were, oh
- 5:33Speaker 2: like you laughed, and I was like, this motherfucker does
- 5:36Speaker 2: not like my flth right now, and he's being judgmental.
- 5:40Speaker 1: No, I wasn't me judgment of what happened was. I
- 5:43Speaker 1: didn't realize that all the adults who go to hot
- 5:45Speaker 1: to smoke weed away from the children do it in
- 5:48Speaker 1: the animation room. So when I walked in the animation room,
- 5:50Speaker 1: I was not expecting to be hot boxed by the weed.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Oh that's what that was.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yeah, but your animation room is sick. It's so cool.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Well, now, it's even sicker because it's got two new
- 6:05Speaker 2: animatable heads of your next project.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Better use our heads, Oh it will. I don't want
- 6:12Speaker 1: to see those other old heads.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I mean you're going to see those two, but we
- 6:16Speaker 2: will be involved now.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I want to focus on us.
- 6:18Speaker 2: It'll be focused on us because.
- 6:20Speaker 1: It'll be good content for promoting the podcast, just like
- 6:24Speaker 1: just like, remember we used to commission those those little
- 6:27Speaker 1: animated videos.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Yeah, what was the name of those guys.
- 6:31Speaker 1: What were they called? You eld TV something to Tuna
- 6:36Speaker 1: to TV, Tuna TV, Tuna TV, something like that.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Those guys were dope. They wished me a happy birthday.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Actually yeah, and uh, and they don't.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Do us anymore. They used to do it. They used to, well,
- 6:48Speaker 1: we used to commission some, but then they used to
- 6:50Speaker 1: just do them on their own. But they don't do
- 6:52Speaker 1: it anymore.
- 6:52Speaker 5: No.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I think they have a deal with the ladies of
- 6:55Speaker 2: the office.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Oh really, the office.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I could be speaking out of my asshole.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Why because you you follow them and they do a
- 7:02Speaker 1: lot of office ladies content.
- 7:04Speaker 2: I've seen some office ladies content. I think they do
- 7:06Speaker 2: all everybody. If you have a podcast and you had
- 7:09Speaker 2: a funny moment, they like to, you know, they like
- 7:11Speaker 2: to find.
- 7:12Speaker 1: It car cartoon CARTOONA come on, why did you stop
- 7:18Speaker 1: doing us cartoon cartoon?
- 7:23Speaker 2: We should do a jingle for cars.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Well, I saw you at the Meg the Stallion concert.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Look like you were having fun.
- 7:28Speaker 4: I had a blast. Great.
- 7:32Speaker 1: I mean I wasn't there. Don't get me wrong. I
- 7:34Speaker 1: didn't see you because I was at them.
- 7:35Speaker 4: No, No, that would be shocking.
- 7:38Speaker 1: What would you would you been surprised to see the
- 7:41Speaker 1: Stallion so initially been surprised.
- 7:44Speaker 5: I wish there were so many street men friend groups
- 7:46Speaker 5: who were like wrapping every single word. I was like, oh,
- 7:49Speaker 5: y'all are fans fans?
- 7:51Speaker 4: Okay?
- 7:52Speaker 2: Cool?
- 7:52Speaker 4: It was fun.
- 7:53Speaker 5: It was like there were there were a bunch of
- 7:55Speaker 5: goth people there, which will get shocking.
- 7:57Speaker 4: It was just everybody loves Meg. The animal.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Is Meg is Meg like lgbt Q like.
- 8:08Speaker 4: In that, like the queers love her.
- 8:11Speaker 5: I would also just say that because she's such an
- 8:13Speaker 5: open anime stand and like she's a very vocal nerd.
- 8:17Speaker 5: She's like her album covers is based off of a character.
- 8:21Speaker 5: I think a lot of people feel free to like
- 8:23Speaker 5: let their freak flags fly at a Megan concert.
- 8:27Speaker 4: You know, it was.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Through anime is anime? That is that what anime is?
- 8:32Speaker 2: I don't understand. I noticed that anime is a lot
- 8:36Speaker 2: of people are watching it right now, but is that
- 8:38Speaker 2: a part of the Is that a part of the culture.
- 8:41Speaker 5: Also, yeah, I think you know, when Daniel and I
- 8:43Speaker 5: were kids, Cartoon Network split itself into two parts of
- 8:46Speaker 5: Adult Swim at Night and Cartoon Network in the morning's
- 8:48Speaker 5: Cartoon Networks for children at night, you got Adults Swim.
- 8:51Speaker 5: Adult Swim introduce a whole generation to a ton of
- 8:54Speaker 5: anime that they might have missed otherwise. And now you know,
- 8:57Speaker 5: Sony has frenchy role which she does a lot of.
- 9:00Speaker 5: Like as shows are airing in Japan, they also will
- 9:03Speaker 5: air simultaneously hear, which is new. So the culture has
- 9:06Speaker 5: just really blossomed over the past couple of years.
- 9:11Speaker 1: And Meg the Stallion is outspoken for loving anime.
- 9:15Speaker 5: Yes, she's just up as favorite characters somebody brought there.
- 9:18Speaker 5: There's a very popular anime called One Piece. Someone brought
- 9:20Speaker 5: their manga and she was like asking them which their
- 9:23Speaker 5: favorite characters were, and she signed their book and stuff.
- 9:25Speaker 5: I saw several girls in different anime character costumes, uh there,
- 9:30Speaker 5: So yeah, it was it was a good time.
- 9:33Speaker 2: So One Piece is so interesting. There's like two thousand
- 9:36Speaker 2: episodes of One Piece. Man, it's been going. My kid
- 9:40Speaker 2: watches one My Roco freaking swears by One Piece. Man,
- 9:43Speaker 2: it's a good show. I love Zoro, he loves what's
- 9:46Speaker 2: the kid's name? Uh, what's the dude's name? Yeah, loofy.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I guess it's in. I guess it's all in. Uh Japanese?
- 9:55Speaker 2: Is that correct?
- 9:56Speaker 5: They have English dubbed ones. But he could also just
- 9:58Speaker 5: choose to watch the Japanese song.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Not a lot of not a lot of English dubbed ones.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Just the English duble ones are on YouTube, is what
- 10:04Speaker 2: I'm finding, and not streamable, And so I kind of
- 10:07Speaker 2: like that he has to read this.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Ship one totally true. I'm listening a lot of times.
- 10:12Speaker 5: The Japanese voice actors are really nailing it, and it's
- 10:14Speaker 5: sort of hit or miss when we get.
- 10:16Speaker 4: Our subs over here.
- 10:19Speaker 5: But there should be there should be some available maybe
- 10:21Speaker 5: on who I know, on who you can change your settings,
- 10:23Speaker 5: like h the sailor moon stuff was on Japanese until
- 10:26Speaker 5: I've figured I had to change the settings and then
- 10:28Speaker 5: I could get the English due.
- 10:29Speaker 4: But either way, great show. Super fun.
- 10:32Speaker 1: More importantly, let's talk about hawk to a girl. She's
- 10:36Speaker 1: taken over the nation.
- 10:38Speaker 5: I don't know who she is. I've heard men talk
- 10:40Speaker 5: about her education.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Jo, Well, how have you missed all the hawk to
- 10:43Speaker 1: a memes?
- 10:44Speaker 4: I was at Meg, I was busy.
- 10:47Speaker 1: Yeah, well, she took over the earth.
- 10:51Speaker 2: The hawk to a girl has like she she is
- 10:55Speaker 2: a superhero now pretty much.
- 10:56Speaker 1: She could probably run for office and win. She became.
- 11:00Speaker 1: She became so popular. I don't think I've ever seen
- 11:02Speaker 1: so many memes of a person. Some of the memes
- 11:06Speaker 1: are so funny, though, I have to say, but it's no.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Reaction of men after they hear the hot.
- 11:14Speaker 1: And people got really creative with the memes, though I
- 11:19Speaker 1: never my Instagram.
- 11:21Speaker 2: My favorite one is my favorite one is guys, you
- 11:23Speaker 2: can howk too and spit on that thing too?
- 11:26Speaker 1: You know, I don't know why do you think she
- 11:37Speaker 1: went so viral?
- 11:37Speaker 2: I mean that ship.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I know. I don't think men really want to hawk
- 11:43Speaker 1: to a girl.
- 11:44Speaker 2: I want a HOWK tool?
- 11:46Speaker 1: HOWK to of you?
- 11:47Speaker 2: That would be one of the I would be like.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Right away once in a while.
- 11:53Speaker 4: I can't.
- 11:54Speaker 2: She can't. It couldn't be like the go to like
- 11:56Speaker 2: every time.
- 11:57Speaker 1: No, No, it'd be too much because.
- 11:59Speaker 2: I'd be like, look you eight, I could see the
- 12:01Speaker 2: dorito too much.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Oh my god. Yeah, I don't know how many men
- 12:09Speaker 1: really want to be howked to it? I think it's
- 12:11Speaker 1: just it's because it's funny. Because the way she said
- 12:15Speaker 1: it was so funny.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Oh, sometimes you gottat.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I thought you'd like him because she has that casey.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Cobb accent she does, and I did like that.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Yeah. I thought I thought that you'd particularly find joy
- 12:27Speaker 1: in it because of her southern accent.
- 12:30Speaker 2: I did have joy in it, all right.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Craig Robinson is here? Is he here? Daniel? Yes he is.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Oh my god, this is very exciting, a very funny man.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Have you ever met him in real life? Donald? I
- 12:41Speaker 1: haven't a couple of times.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Man, this is gonna be funny.
- 12:43Speaker 1: I'm very excited. All right, let's count of said Donald.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Shure.
- 12:50Speaker 1: We made about a bunch of dogs and.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Stories. Yea, here yeah, here spec.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Yo.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Hello. And you know Crank can harmonized with that ship
- 13:22Speaker 1: Crank you almost harmonized.
- 13:24Speaker 2: It was a two part that could have been a
- 13:26Speaker 2: three part? What is good?
- 13:28Speaker 3: Craig Robins, Hey, how y'all doing? Can you hear me?
- 13:30Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the show Welcome to the show Man.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Thank you very much. Let's go on.
- 13:36Speaker 2: What's a guan, What's a gone Boy?
- 13:41Speaker 1: We're so happy to have you on the show Man.
- 13:43Speaker 1: We're big fancy. You make us laugh a lot.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 13:46Speaker 6: I feel the same way about y'all. I've been in
- 13:49Speaker 6: love with y'all for a money long time. It's always
- 13:52Speaker 6: good to see you pop up on commercials and all
- 13:54Speaker 6: that kind of stuff.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Man, you know, no one our peaches the Hut, Craig Robinson,
- 13:58Speaker 2: No one our peaches.
- 14:00Speaker 3: You, Craig.
- 14:04Speaker 1: I have so many questions for you now. I don't
- 14:06Speaker 1: think it's I'm not sure if we've ever met in person,
- 14:10Speaker 1: but Donald was just bragging that you guys have met
- 14:13Speaker 1: a bunch of times.
- 14:14Speaker 3: We met, for sure.
- 14:18Speaker 2: I remember the first time I met you. It was
- 14:20Speaker 2: at the MTV Movie Awards. No, it wasn't that. Wasn't
- 14:22Speaker 2: that them TV Movie Awards. All I know is I
- 14:25Speaker 2: ran up on you and I was like, you're the
- 14:27Speaker 2: funniest black man alive. Right now. You look like.
- 14:40Speaker 1: You never know what's gonna come out of Donald's mouth
- 14:42Speaker 1: because he really loves Ganja and it's really you never
- 14:46Speaker 1: know what's gonna come out of his mouth. You know,
- 14:49Speaker 1: we just Scrubs rewatch. We just did a Scrubs rewatch podcast,
- 14:53Speaker 1: and for Donald that was watching Scrubs for the first time.
- 14:56Speaker 3: No way, really, yeah, man, I'm like that with The Office.
- 15:00Speaker 6: I don't watch I haven't seen all of them, so
- 15:02Speaker 6: it wouldn't be like the first time, but some of
- 15:04Speaker 6: them like, oh.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Okay, this is cool. Did you do you like The
- 15:09Speaker 2: Office when you watch it? I do?
- 15:12Speaker 3: I do. I like it.
- 15:13Speaker 6: I love it, and I and I and it kind
- 15:16Speaker 6: of you know, you get to miss it a little bit.
- 15:18Speaker 6: Uh uh. And it's hard to not watch it if
- 15:21Speaker 6: I like to see it. Come on, it's hard to
- 15:23Speaker 6: not It's hard to turn away.
- 15:24Speaker 3: It's weird.
- 15:25Speaker 1: It really has that a second coming the Office, right,
- 15:28Speaker 1: I mean to me, sometimes it feels like The Office
- 15:30Speaker 1: is more popular now than ever.
- 15:32Speaker 2: It feels like it's popular now than it was back then.
- 15:35Speaker 2: The kids have picked up on it. The people that
- 15:37Speaker 2: watched it back then are now rewatching it with the kids.
- 15:40Speaker 2: It's crazy.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:42Speaker 6: The pandemic, man, really, you know, gave people chance to
- 15:45Speaker 6: just kind of like go through it and then restart
- 15:48Speaker 6: it and go through it again. It's it's uh, it's
- 15:50Speaker 6: one of the things people keep on at night.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, oh, man, we used to me and
- 15:56Speaker 2: my before me and my wife were married. Not only
- 15:59Speaker 2: do we watch Ship during the while it was running
- 16:02Speaker 2: on telephone, we would watch it syndicate at nighttime and
- 16:06Speaker 2: on DVD and stuff like that before we went to bed,
- 16:09Speaker 2: just to laugh, to make sure we had a good
- 16:11Speaker 2: laugh before we went to sleep. Man, that show was
- 16:14Speaker 2: freaking amazing. Man, I don't know, with an sinse yeah,
- 16:17Speaker 2: with intent like like I just remember, like I remember
- 16:20Speaker 2: when it first started, we ran it too. Kazinsky had
- 16:23Speaker 2: like some party and me thinking.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Always mess up John's name. You missed the R.
- 16:29Speaker 2: My bad. We ran it well from New York, you
- 16:31Speaker 2: know what I mean. We don't really pronounce the R.
- 16:33Speaker 1: But it's so funny every time you mentioned John's name,
- 16:36Speaker 1: you fuck it up somehow.
- 16:38Speaker 2: So we ran into Krazinski at ye nailed it at
- 16:41Speaker 2: uh at uh some party, and I remember thinking to myself,
- 16:44Speaker 2: there's no way these guys are going to be able
- 16:46Speaker 2: to uh get the success that the British one got.
- 16:50Speaker 2: And then within like literally after the first episode, I
- 16:54Speaker 2: was like, this shit is funny and in the first
- 16:57Speaker 2: yeah that I'm telling you, we can go into it.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Ricky could come after me. It's cool.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Craig tell us about what was like getting that park.
- 17:06Speaker 1: You know, I always like to hear people's audition stories
- 17:08Speaker 1: of what the process was like for getting the office.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Well, let's start at the beginning. So I love dead.
- 17:19Speaker 6: Pan comedy, right, so that's just you know, Harvey Korman
- 17:23Speaker 6: and you know Leslie Nilsen, Peter Sellers, those like just
- 17:28Speaker 6: people who could you know, be the craziest things are
- 17:31Speaker 6: going on and they're just like, like, nothing's happened.
- 17:34Speaker 3: That's always been attracted to me.
- 17:36Speaker 6: So with that in mind, one day I was on
- 17:41Speaker 6: the plane and I saw the British Office. I don't
- 17:44Speaker 6: know what made me watch it because it's like soda color,
- 17:48Speaker 6: so drabbed.
- 17:50Speaker 3: It just looks like it. But I was like, I've
- 17:51Speaker 3: watched and I was cracking up.
- 17:54Speaker 6: Did not see it anywhere, And then one day I
- 17:56Speaker 6: just saw a poster of David Brent.
- 17:59Speaker 3: I was like, Oh, that's so boy. And so fast
- 18:02Speaker 3: forward to the audition.
- 18:06Speaker 6: I went in and at the time, Jerry Minor and
- 18:08Speaker 6: I had a song out Somebody's fucking my lady, I
- 18:12Speaker 6: don't know.
- 18:14Speaker 3: So uh so we did. So we did.
- 18:17Speaker 6: We performed it in a few places, a Comedy Central,
- 18:20Speaker 6: Wars that Bill Maher, we did on a couple of
- 18:24Speaker 6: sketch pad too, and uh centric entertained show. But anyway,
- 18:28Speaker 6: it was out, you know, and and it was getting
- 18:30Speaker 6: some It was like a sketch and a song and
- 18:33Speaker 6: one and all that, and and I went into the
- 18:35Speaker 6: office audition and.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Greg Daniels, you know, is leading in.
- 18:39Speaker 6: It's like twelve other people, and he's like, hey, I
- 18:42Speaker 6: saw your uh I saw that song you did. He said, really,
- 18:45Speaker 6: it doesn't get any funnier than that, which which to
- 18:49Speaker 6: me was like it should have been like a big boost.
- 18:53Speaker 6: But to me, I was like, oh no, I'm not
- 18:55Speaker 6: gonna I'm not gonna be as funny as one whatever
- 18:58Speaker 6: I already tell.
- 19:00Speaker 3: So uh uh, you know, you wented.
- 19:03Speaker 6: And then we were we read somebody the confessionals to
- 19:06Speaker 6: the camera, you know, some of those paragraphs whatever, and
- 19:10Speaker 6: and you know, then next thing, you know, I was
- 19:13Speaker 6: on the offices Daryl Maze.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Did they did they write it? And obviously I mean
- 19:18Speaker 1: it goes without saying they did, but they knew that
- 19:20Speaker 1: you could play the piano and singing. So did he
- 19:22Speaker 1: always did you? Did he always think say to you,
- 19:24Speaker 1: I'm going to put that in the show.
- 19:26Speaker 3: No, there was the only thing I was ever really
- 19:29Speaker 3: privy to.
- 19:31Speaker 6: Knowing was that, Like one day Mindy told me, hey, yeah,
- 19:35Speaker 6: we're writing something a relationship, you know, for for you
- 19:38Speaker 6: and I.
- 19:39Speaker 3: That's the only thing I ever knew. What was everything else?
- 19:41Speaker 6: I didn't know what was going on on the show?
- 19:47Speaker 2: Show up to work and just improv is that that's
- 19:49Speaker 2: not what was it?
- 19:50Speaker 3: Like? Well, we know it was always a fun run.
- 19:53Speaker 6: It wasn't like, okay, make up the sing but you know,
- 19:55Speaker 6: it was always uh, you know, you get your your
- 19:58Speaker 6: couple in and then you just go.
- 20:00Speaker 1: That was kind of case with Scrubs too. We would
- 20:02Speaker 1: we would get it as written and then play and
- 20:05Speaker 1: and I really feel like, just from watching the Office
- 20:08Speaker 1: and loving it, it feels like you guys were doing that too.
- 20:11Speaker 6: Yeah, it's a lot of they let the camera run
- 20:15Speaker 6: and you know it was fun. Man and Steve and
- 20:18Speaker 6: Rain and they brain is just won't stop. He's not
- 20:23Speaker 6: stop with it. But uh but yeah, yeah, Steve was incredible.
- 20:28Speaker 6: He could turn it on and off. It was an amazing,
- 20:31Speaker 6: amazing thing to be a part of. Man, I'm so
- 20:33Speaker 6: honored and I watch it and I'm still in all
- 20:36Speaker 6: that I was a part of it, Like because I
- 20:38Speaker 6: watched the ones I'm not in, I'm like, what where
- 20:40Speaker 6: did I fit into this?
- 20:41Speaker 3: This is this is crazy fit in great?
- 20:43Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, man, You're incredible that.
- 20:45Speaker 6: Now.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Now tell us about how you got any music? Did
- 20:48Speaker 1: you start? How did you become such a talented musician?
- 20:51Speaker 2: Now I know that I know that you started in Chicago,
- 20:54Speaker 2: if I'm correct, at school.
- 20:57Speaker 6: Born and raised my mother, Rest of peace, Flora Robinson.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Uh.
- 21:03Speaker 6: She she was amazing musician. She she was first chair
- 21:08Speaker 6: of Cello and college. And you know she's sang like
- 21:11Speaker 6: an angel. She was minister music at our church. So
- 21:15Speaker 6: the music is in us. You know, she was playing
- 21:17Speaker 6: and singing when we were in the womb, so you
- 21:20Speaker 6: know it was there was no getting around piano lessons
- 21:24Speaker 6: in our house.
- 21:25Speaker 3: So uh it was since day one.
- 21:28Speaker 6: One of my earliest memories is banging on the piano
- 21:32Speaker 6: and running up and my grandmother was watching me while
- 21:34Speaker 6: my mother and father would work whatever, and uh my
- 21:37Speaker 6: sister was at school. And my early memories of banging
- 21:41Speaker 6: on piano and he running up to the kitchen to
- 21:44Speaker 6: my grandmother saying, hey, how was that? Grandma? She s
- 21:46Speaker 6: that's a beautiful baby. And I went back and just down.
- 21:51Speaker 6: I remember that being like just a kid doing that.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Man, M and that and that and and that just
- 21:58Speaker 2: went all the way from teaching at like, I find
- 22:01Speaker 2: it really interesting, man, because you know, everybody has a
- 22:03Speaker 2: journey and a path and people's paths man, Like, you know,
- 22:07Speaker 2: I knew I wanted to be an actor at a
- 22:09Speaker 2: very young age. You were teaching kids, man, you were
- 22:13Speaker 2: you were, you were bringing up kids. And then all
- 22:15Speaker 2: of a sudden stand up and then like how did
- 22:18Speaker 2: how did that all?
- 22:19Speaker 3: How did that go to?
- 22:22Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 22:23Speaker 6: So I was in college right and I was studying,
- 22:28Speaker 6: you know, uh to be it was coming out to
- 22:31Speaker 6: be a teacher, and uh, I get something happened with comedy.
- 22:37Speaker 6: Comedy jumped into my life and chose me. I like
- 22:41Speaker 6: to think comedy chose me. And I knew I was
- 22:44Speaker 6: going into the director of comedy. But ess in college,
- 22:47Speaker 6: so I knew I had to finish and have something
- 22:49Speaker 6: to fall back on as far so that became uh.
- 22:52Speaker 3: A teacher became that.
- 22:54Speaker 6: But uh in college I started studying and trying to
- 22:58Speaker 6: figure out because I was just like, I can do this, man.
- 23:02Speaker 3: That is because I played. I played too much.
- 23:05Speaker 6: I was that dude, you know, you play too much,
- 23:07Speaker 6: always joking, always silly, never serious about anything.
- 23:11Speaker 3: Comedy is the first thing I took series.
- 23:13Speaker 6: And so, uh, once I got out of college and
- 23:16Speaker 6: started teaching music, I would teach during the day, then
- 23:19Speaker 6: I would go and I was actually a bouncer at
- 23:23Speaker 6: a nightclub. And and then also but wait, I was
- 23:26Speaker 6: the guy who went to get the bigger guys. Hey,
- 23:29Speaker 6: you know, I wasn't like, you know, so uh so,
- 23:37Speaker 6: but but then so it was that. And I also
- 23:39Speaker 6: I would I would do comedy, you know, at night
- 23:44Speaker 6: every night that I could. So uh so it was
- 23:46Speaker 6: like teaching and and and you know, I was burning
- 23:48Speaker 6: caunt on both ends. But I was trying to figure out,
- 23:51Speaker 6: you know, how to put these five minutes together? What
- 23:53Speaker 6: have you? And and I had to getting a spot
- 23:57Speaker 6: on Deaf Comedy Gym while I was teaching out Chicago
- 24:00Speaker 6: and Indiana, and then the first it was Indiana, but
- 24:03Speaker 6: then it was Chicago, and uh, when I was in Chicago,
- 24:06Speaker 6: I ended up getting spot on Deaf Comedy Jam and
- 24:09Speaker 6: then came back to school and it was like, mister us.
- 24:19Speaker 1: That must have been a huge brain for you to
- 24:20Speaker 1: get on deaf comedy jam.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Oh it was, yeah, it was everything it was.
- 24:24Speaker 6: I got recognized the night I was on there, like
- 24:27Speaker 6: it went bowling and supposed like, hey, it just sucks, Like.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Let's take a break, We'll be.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Right back after these fine words. When did you start
- 24:46Speaker 1: putting the music with the comedy, because that's so unique.
- 24:49Speaker 1: I love it, Like I know gallifan Akus does that,
- 24:51Speaker 1: and obviously Steve Martin did it with the band job,
- 24:54Speaker 1: but I just I love comedians that have the ability
- 24:56Speaker 1: to combine music with their comedy. It's a very unique trade.
- 25:01Speaker 1: When do you start doing that?
- 25:03Speaker 6: So I can tell you exactly. I did about two
- 25:08Speaker 6: or three sets without the keyboard. So one was called
- 25:16Speaker 6: Hecker was Heaven announced in Chicago, and what they would
- 25:19Speaker 6: do is you get three people in the audience have
- 25:24Speaker 6: a rubber chicken okay, and then other people have scorecards.
- 25:29Speaker 6: So you get a total of eight minutes if you
- 25:32Speaker 6: can make it. But you get three minutes and nobody hecking.
- 25:36Speaker 6: You get to start doing your thing. And now after
- 25:38Speaker 6: three minutes, they ring a bell and if you get
- 25:41Speaker 6: all three chickens from the three different audience members, you
- 25:43Speaker 6: got to get off the stage. The first time I went,
- 25:48Speaker 6: I said to them the girl, I'll said, sign me up.
- 25:51Speaker 6: I was, I was ready and she said, you know
- 25:54Speaker 6: it's hard, and I was like okay, and then uh,
- 25:58Speaker 6: I think like Dion Cole went up and James Hannah
- 26:01Speaker 6: and b Cole and Corey Hoaking, all these Chicago killers,
- 26:06Speaker 6: and I said, went to the girl, I said, could
- 26:08Speaker 6: you take my name off the listeners? They got crunched,
- 26:14Speaker 6: they got crunched another they were crushing, and I was
- 26:20Speaker 6: just like, I was so new, you know. So the
- 26:23Speaker 6: second week I went and I said, I'm going up,
- 26:25Speaker 6: no matter what, going up, sign up. And I went
- 26:30Speaker 6: up there and I got two chickens, and whatever reason,
- 26:34Speaker 6: I was like, I'm not getting that third chicken.
- 26:35Speaker 3: And I cut out before the third one.
- 26:37Speaker 2: Right.
- 26:38Speaker 6: So then the third week I went back and I
- 26:41Speaker 6: took my keyboard and and it wasn't just random take
- 26:46Speaker 6: to keep you know, I've been making people laugh at
- 26:49Speaker 6: the keyboard church, and you know in school, I'll play
- 26:52Speaker 6: for girls on the phone and you know, sing my
- 26:55Speaker 6: way in and some panties whatever.
- 26:56Speaker 3: So the third week I went to the keyboard and.
- 27:00Speaker 6: Was it was it just was magical and it was
- 27:04Speaker 6: all she wrote and I started, you know, I went
- 27:06Speaker 6: from there.
- 27:07Speaker 1: It's so unique too. I think people are so happy
- 27:09Speaker 1: when they see it because, you know, being able to
- 27:12Speaker 1: combine music with your humors is refreshing.
- 27:16Speaker 6: You know, it's so fun. It's a it's a marriage that. Uh.
- 27:21Speaker 6: I'm glad, I you know, was blessed with uh to
- 27:25Speaker 6: do them all right.
- 27:26Speaker 2: I want to go back, So I want to go
- 27:28Speaker 2: back now. So then where did the apatow game come
- 27:32Speaker 2: into play? Because like, out of nowhere, there was a
- 27:36Speaker 2: black dude in the Apatowl game. It was not me.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Donald was Donald was jealous, but then he had to
- 27:45Speaker 1: be like then he had to be like, damn, that
- 27:46Speaker 1: fucking dude. It's funny, man.
- 27:53Speaker 6: So you know, auditioned for auditioned for forty year old
- 27:58Speaker 6: virgin I didn't get it. I think it was the
- 28:02Speaker 6: Jane Lynch roll. I think it was the Jane Lynch
- 28:11Speaker 6: the manager. I think so, if if memory serves correct,
- 28:15Speaker 6: that's what it was. But but I'm not sure. But
- 28:21Speaker 6: then I went in for for Knocked Up and I
- 28:25Speaker 6: had a great audition and and and then that just
- 28:29Speaker 6: just getting to do that scene was was crazy because
- 28:32Speaker 6: I was, you know, I had no money. I was
- 28:35Speaker 6: I was working in Vegas that week and I had
- 28:38Speaker 6: to get you know, buddy passed to go back to
- 28:41Speaker 6: l A back and forth, so make the.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Flight, you know.
- 28:44Speaker 6: And then I got there and uh, you know, we
- 28:46Speaker 6: were waiting around stuff, and uh, I didn't know. I
- 28:50Speaker 6: didn't know Leslie Mann was Judd Appletoe's wife at the time.
- 28:54Speaker 6: So okay, I said to I was like, hey, you
- 28:59Speaker 6: want to hers, you know, and I'm just you.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Know, think of a young actor coming up to you,
- 29:04Speaker 3: like You're like well. She was like no, I'm good,
- 29:08Speaker 3: and I was like okay, okay.
- 29:13Speaker 6: So when the scene started that the top half was
- 29:20Speaker 6: scripted and the bottom half was improv and I was like,
- 29:24Speaker 6: you know, y'are you know you can't have an old,
- 29:27Speaker 6: pregnant bitches all that stuff. I'm so glad I didn't
- 29:30Speaker 6: know it was she was his. I'm so glad I
- 29:32Speaker 6: don't know she was his white or outside of probably
- 29:34Speaker 6: be like hey, you guys, come on in the club.
- 29:36Speaker 3: It's cool, yeah, right right, right right, and.
- 29:41Speaker 6: Hold let me let me let me, uh Zach, I
- 29:43Speaker 6: gotta give you props and and thank you because you tweeted.
- 29:49Speaker 6: That's one of the nicest things about me in that scene,
- 29:52Speaker 6: like I.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Did I don't remember, but I remember you were hilarious.
- 29:56Speaker 1: What did I write you?
- 29:57Speaker 6: You were like, Man, that was it was so I
- 30:01Speaker 6: wish I could remember. Man, you know, I probably have
- 30:04Speaker 6: to go back seven ten years, but it was.
- 30:08Speaker 3: It was.
- 30:08Speaker 6: It was a beautiful like you know, push.
- 30:11Speaker 1: That makes me so happy.
- 30:12Speaker 3: Man, dude, you're famous, So what do you take it?
- 30:15Speaker 1: Thank you? Well, back when Twitter, back when Twitter was
- 30:20Speaker 1: not so toxic, I used to love blowing people up
- 30:22Speaker 1: on there, like people who were when I saw new talent,
- 30:25Speaker 1: I'd be like, everyone, look at this guy. Listen to
- 30:28Speaker 1: this song. I used to I used to love doing that.
- 30:30Speaker 3: I'm glad I made shout and shouted me out for
- 30:33Speaker 3: a scene in the movie.
- 30:34Speaker 1: So yeah, well you were fucking hilarious and that.
- 30:37Speaker 2: That's funny in the movie, and that whole movie is funny.
- 30:41Speaker 2: What I look like, I can't even let I can't
- 30:43Speaker 2: even let I gotta let you. Uh point one and
- 30:47Speaker 2: a half, one and a half. What did you make?
- 30:54Speaker 1: Did you make all that ship up.
- 30:56Speaker 3: Yeah, the bottom half was the top half of you know,
- 31:00Speaker 3: it was Judd was.
- 31:01Speaker 6: Hey, you know I get the runs from all the
- 31:03Speaker 6: stress and you know the uh and then Judge it's
- 31:05Speaker 6: just dope. Heachs left the camera go and and he
- 31:08Speaker 6: was giving me, you know, energy because he repeat my lines.
- 31:12Speaker 3: To make sure they got on.
- 31:14Speaker 6: Yeah, and it was it was stuff you know that
- 31:16Speaker 6: didn't make it in there, like hey, we don't have
- 31:18Speaker 6: placenta insurance. So that was that was just such a
- 31:24Speaker 6: special role in moment because I remember going to I
- 31:28Speaker 6: see who was it the that they sing eighties music,
- 31:32Speaker 6: you know, the Spasmatics, And I went to see that
- 31:35Speaker 6: one night they used to have at the Dragonfly you
- 31:39Speaker 6: know I'm talking about uh yeah yeah over there in Hollywood,
- 31:44Speaker 6: and and I and I went over there and one
- 31:48Speaker 6: of the editors was like, hey, we keep adding more stuff,
- 31:50Speaker 6: you know to your monel And it was just like
- 31:53Speaker 6: just random, like what so, yeah, that was beautiful.
- 31:57Speaker 1: I heard that about Judd. I heard these the most
- 31:59Speaker 1: fun because he just keeps rolling and rolling and rolling,
- 32:03Speaker 1: and like they say, he still shoots film and and
- 32:06Speaker 1: and like and and the and there's like all these
- 32:09Speaker 1: stories like no one. No one shoots more film than
- 32:12Speaker 1: Judd Apatow.
- 32:14Speaker 6: Yeah, man, he gets it here, he gets it all,
- 32:17Speaker 6: and uh, you know he knows what's up.
- 32:20Speaker 1: He's been so uh. You know, you guys are a
- 32:23Speaker 1: really good team when when you work together, because that's
- 32:26Speaker 1: you guys have made.
- 32:28Speaker 2: It's like the five of them, right, isn't it five
- 32:30Speaker 2: of y'all? It's you Jonah seth Uh Jay, everybody that
- 32:36Speaker 2: was in this is the end you got like that
- 32:39Speaker 2: became another group.
- 32:40Speaker 3: James, James, James frank Over, how did that?
- 32:43Speaker 2: How did that? Like you guys were all judge guys
- 32:46Speaker 2: and then you guys just all spread out and did
- 32:49Speaker 2: your own thing. Like he's bounding down. That ship is Danny.
- 32:52Speaker 2: That ship is hilarious. Man. The stuff that you guys
- 32:55Speaker 2: did with freaking will let him learn. It gets me
- 33:00Speaker 2: every time. Man, my god, Doug, listen, listen, listen. I
- 33:07Speaker 2: watched I watch your stuff because I know it's gonna
- 33:09Speaker 2: be funny, and I know you are surrounded by such
- 33:12Speaker 2: good people and the and the stuff that y'all put
- 33:15Speaker 2: out is so good. So whenever I see y'all, whenever
- 33:18Speaker 2: I see you, I'm like, I'm gonna put it on
- 33:20Speaker 2: because I know Hot Top time Machine. I gave that
- 33:23Speaker 2: ship a shot because you was in it. And that's
- 33:25Speaker 2: it was hilarious, you know what I mean, Like nobody
- 33:28Speaker 2: was gonna go see Hot Up Thomasine. That's the craziest
- 33:31Speaker 2: name in the.
- 33:32Speaker 1: World's on a plane though, you know what, You're gonna get.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Hot Top Timas. She turns out to be a fucking
- 33:39Speaker 2: really good movie, man, like a really good movie.
- 33:43Speaker 3: That's where That's what people saw too. On a plane.
- 33:46Speaker 3: A lot of people saw that.
- 33:49Speaker 6: But man, I wish I could take credits say oh, yeah,
- 33:52Speaker 6: I was in this group and we switching it.
- 33:54Speaker 3: But I've always been a hired hand, you know what
- 33:56Speaker 3: I'm saying.
- 33:57Speaker 6: Danny knew well we were shooting up Express he was
- 34:01Speaker 6: He was like, hey, you want to come hang out
- 34:03Speaker 6: and you know, work on such and such a he
- 34:05Speaker 6: was talking about Eastbound and down. He was like, we'll
- 34:07Speaker 6: be in Wilmington, man, shooting on the beach and uh
- 34:10Speaker 6: and then it just so happened.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Just a good god, is it just so happened? My
- 34:16Speaker 3: office schedule, like the one week I had off.
- 34:19Speaker 6: I was it was the week they wanted to be
- 34:21Speaker 6: for Eastbound, So that happened, you know, a couple of years.
- 34:24Speaker 3: In a row.
- 34:25Speaker 1: That's so lucky when it works out, right, when all
- 34:27Speaker 1: of a sudden, just the universe is just in aligned with.
- 34:30Speaker 6: Because how many times has it been like you no work,
- 34:33Speaker 6: no work, no work, Three projects need you for October fifteenth,
- 34:36Speaker 6: and you're.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Like, yeah, that's how it goes exactly exactly. You were like,
- 34:41Speaker 1: you never go exactly exactly are you never go away?
- 34:45Speaker 1: You never go away. You finally plan a trip to
- 34:47Speaker 1: just do something with your friends and family, and they're like,
- 34:50Speaker 1: that's the week they need you. That's how Hollywood works, right,
- 34:54Speaker 1: all of a sudden, you're sitting around for months and
- 34:55Speaker 1: months and months and like, I'm gonna I'm gonna go away.
- 34:58Speaker 1: That's the week they want you. This is the end.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Looked like it was the most fun movie to ever make. Donald,
- 35:05Speaker 1: I know you love that movie.
- 35:06Speaker 2: I love that movie. I watched that movie still. I
- 35:09Speaker 2: love that movie. The fact that jof freaking survived the Rapture,
- 35:13Speaker 2: I don't know how you did that.
- 35:16Speaker 6: And it was like these three genres right like like
- 35:21Speaker 6: you got the the weed, you got the comedy, you
- 35:23Speaker 6: got horror, like all blending together. It was crazy and yeah,
- 35:29Speaker 6: we shot for like two three months in New Orleans,
- 35:33Speaker 6: so so.
- 35:33Speaker 3: That that crew was you know, we had some fun. Man.
- 35:39Speaker 3: One night we went to see BBD at the house
- 35:41Speaker 3: of my and I just remember.
- 35:44Speaker 6: It was one of these nights where you don't know
- 35:47Speaker 6: what time it is and the sun is out when
- 35:49Speaker 6: you came out the club, it was.
- 35:51Speaker 3: It was dope.
- 35:51Speaker 6: And the one time Danny and I went and we
- 35:54Speaker 6: had some of that, we had the day off. What's
- 35:58Speaker 6: that the crazy alcohol absent.
- 36:05Speaker 2: Danny down.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Danny seems like he is the character he plays.
- 36:12Speaker 3: Danny is more laid back that way, more laid back
- 36:15Speaker 3: to that character. He's a family man and all that.
- 36:18Speaker 6: But but he's a fun guy's super cool, super cool.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Let's take a break.
- 36:23Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words. No man, Joelle,
- 36:35Speaker 1: you got any questions for for the legend here?
- 36:37Speaker 4: Hey Joelle, Hey Craig, how you doing. I actually wanted
- 36:42Speaker 4: to promote in small Indie you did. I interviewed you
- 36:46Speaker 4: probably don't remember.
- 36:46Speaker 5: I interviewed you like twenty seventeen at south By Southwest
- 36:49Speaker 5: for Morris from America. Yeah, remember this film I Love
- 36:54Speaker 5: you in that movie. I think it's so special and
- 36:56Speaker 5: cute and heartwarming. It was my favorite film I saw
- 36:59Speaker 5: that year, and I think about it all the time.
- 37:01Speaker 5: I'm constantly recommending it to people. And I was like,
- 37:03Speaker 5: Lisen screg is here, let me tell our audience also
- 37:05Speaker 5: to check out More's from America.
- 37:07Speaker 4: I love what it.
- 37:09Speaker 3: Thank you, Joel.
- 37:13Speaker 6: You know it's about this kid, Morris from America and
- 37:18Speaker 6: I'm his widowed father. So we're in Germany and you know,
- 37:24Speaker 6: he's like thirteen and he's you know, it's accumbing of
- 37:28Speaker 6: age story. So he falls in love with this girl
- 37:31Speaker 6: who don't really care about him, but you know, she
- 37:34Speaker 6: kind of plays with him. You know, it's a it's
- 37:37Speaker 6: a cool little movie, man, And it's like I said,
- 37:42Speaker 6: it's coming of age, not necessarily comedy, but there's some
- 37:44Speaker 6: funny moments. But I have a you know, I have
- 37:46Speaker 6: a nice monologue in there that I actually it was
- 37:52Speaker 6: another beautiful moment.
- 37:54Speaker 3: People were.
- 37:54Speaker 6: You know, however, when the Oscars, people like say their
- 37:58Speaker 6: opinions on who sheol get a not here at all
- 38:01Speaker 6: these bunches of articles whatever, somebody wrote Craig Robinson for
- 38:07Speaker 6: Moores for America, should you know what should be nominated?
- 38:11Speaker 2: I was just like, dang, you know, let me ask
- 38:15Speaker 2: you a question, did that turn you on to drama?
- 38:18Speaker 2: Are you really considering.
- 38:20Speaker 1: I've done some drama, but are you like.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Are you are you thinking? Like, you know, maybe I need.
- 38:25Speaker 3: To I bid one to sink my teeth into some
- 38:29Speaker 3: more drama.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:30Speaker 3: Any opportunity there is out there, you.
- 38:33Speaker 5: Know, you may only get on up was fabulous, Like
- 38:37Speaker 5: so by my dad's a big like music.
- 38:39Speaker 7: I mean, yeah, Joell gives good hugs, but she's also
- 38:46Speaker 7: like the biggest movie nerd we know, so she knows
- 38:49Speaker 7: all the fucking deep cuts.
- 38:51Speaker 5: Hey that and then what's the other super underrated movie
- 38:55Speaker 5: your Oh, Dolomite, which I raged about. Nobody giving that
- 38:58Speaker 5: movie any kind of oscar shine, Like every talented BLA
- 39:01Speaker 5: person makes an appearance as a stellar job like Dolery
- 39:05Speaker 5: Murphy didn't.
- 39:06Speaker 2: Get nominated for dolom No.
- 39:07Speaker 4: That would be received zero nominations. And it's one of
- 39:09Speaker 4: the best.
- 39:10Speaker 1: Mind, I didn't see it. I gotta admit watch it's
- 39:14Speaker 1: that I didn't see it. But did you work with Eddie?
- 39:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 39:19Speaker 1: What was your Eddie experience like? Because Donald and I
- 39:21Speaker 1: are are the biggest Eddie fans in the world.
- 39:23Speaker 3: What the second and third biggest.
- 39:28Speaker 2: You can't say that to people. The list is gonna
- 39:31Speaker 2: get longer and longer and longer.
- 39:33Speaker 1: If you look at celebrities that have gotten shout outs
- 39:35Speaker 1: in love on this podcast, Eddie's probably number one.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's all.
- 39:41Speaker 6: Working with Eddie makes made me a better actor because
- 39:47Speaker 6: he's talking to me in the scene and I'm I
- 39:50Speaker 6: have to.
- 39:50Speaker 3: Block out, I swear, you know.
- 40:01Speaker 6: So it was so it's like enable to focus and
- 40:05Speaker 6: be that and then not every second be.
- 40:07Speaker 3: Like who's who anyway? Eddie, you know, you know, he
- 40:13Speaker 3: he he was cool.
- 40:15Speaker 6: The one of the best moments I give you two
- 40:18Speaker 6: one was I did an improv. He wasn't he wasn't there,
- 40:23Speaker 6: and I said, the improv, you know, it's it's a
- 40:26Speaker 6: time period seventies.
- 40:28Speaker 3: So it was a lady who looked like Sandy Duncan
- 40:33Speaker 3: Sandy Dunkin.
- 40:35Speaker 6: So I said, so, I said, uh, I said something
- 40:39Speaker 6: Sady Dunky.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Right, and then the director. Then Eddie came.
- 40:43Speaker 6: Up set and director was talking and then he said yeah,
- 40:46Speaker 6: uh Sandy dunk and Dada, and then Eddie started talking
- 40:50Speaker 6: to He said blah blah blah, say yeah, Sandy Duncan's
- 40:52Speaker 6: funny and I was like.
- 40:57Speaker 3: So uh.
- 40:58Speaker 6: And then the second moment was he would bring his
- 41:00Speaker 6: guitar to set and like so in between lighting, he's
- 41:03Speaker 6: just jamming. One day we all set, there's the piano.
- 41:07Speaker 1: Oh my god, so he's playing.
- 41:09Speaker 3: And I sat downside playing. So now he was like, oh,
- 41:12Speaker 3: you played for real Hans.
- 41:16Speaker 1: Guitarist.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, yeah, he can play. He could play.
- 41:20Speaker 2: No, like yeah, it.
- 41:21Speaker 3: Was yeah, yeah, he was just he was just jamming.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Did you lead it or you followed him?
- 41:27Speaker 3: I just I just, you know, got in where I
- 41:29Speaker 3: fit in. I heard the chords.
- 41:31Speaker 1: I love that Eddie plays guitar. That's a little I
- 41:33Speaker 1: didn't even he's never I don't think.
- 41:34Speaker 3: I wish I had.
- 41:36Speaker 6: I wish somebody had recorded that, but it lives in
- 41:39Speaker 6: my memory.
- 41:40Speaker 1: He's got weaket Beverly Hills cop What number is it
- 41:43Speaker 1: coming up?
- 41:44Speaker 4: Four?
- 41:44Speaker 1: Five, four or five?
- 41:47Speaker 2: I think it's five. I will be seated, well two three,
- 41:52Speaker 2: I guess it's four.
- 41:54Speaker 3: He came back with a vengeance.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Huh.
- 41:56Speaker 6: Yeah, he playing around and then the uh coming with
- 42:00Speaker 6: America And.
- 42:02Speaker 1: There's not many numbers, but is it four or five?
- 42:05Speaker 2: He crushed that SATs it's four all right.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Well, listen, there's not many fourth versions of movies I
- 42:12Speaker 1: go see, but I will be seated for Beverly Hills
- 42:15Speaker 1: Cup four and Donald. I'm bringing you to the theater.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Go to the theater to see Beverly Hill.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Donald doesn't go to the theater anymore. But you will
- 42:21Speaker 1: go for Beverly Hills Cup four. Yeah, because they got
- 42:24Speaker 1: everybody back. They got Balky, No, they got freaking uh
- 42:28Speaker 1: what's his name is?
- 42:30Speaker 2: Is bogamil back?
- 42:32Speaker 1: I don't know. They got they got uh Jodd ryinghole
- 42:35Speaker 1: his bag.
- 42:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm excited to see that.
- 42:39Speaker 1: I'm excited. Uh uh your face you're still hooping.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Nah, Man, that's a rap's knees, lungs, all of that ship.
- 42:50Speaker 6: Man.
- 42:50Speaker 2: I done smoked my way off the basketball court. Bro.
- 42:53Speaker 2: That's a rap for me.
- 42:55Speaker 1: But he's gone all in on his son. He's his
- 42:57Speaker 1: son is really good.
- 42:58Speaker 2: My kid plays basketball, and that's what my week is,
- 43:02Speaker 2: me traveling to gyms at night time so he could
- 43:05Speaker 2: get his workouts in. And then on the weekdays, I
- 43:08Speaker 2: mean weekends, he does tournaments every now and then, and
- 43:12Speaker 2: so that's where I get my basketball. Joe, I run
- 43:14Speaker 2: into a lot of people who I played basketball with
- 43:17Speaker 2: back in the day. Uh at these at these gyms.
- 43:21Speaker 2: Uh like uh, I ran in the Mike Westfall. The
- 43:25Speaker 2: motherfucker that plays the punisher. What's that dude's name, the
- 43:27Speaker 2: dude that played Yeah, man, that motherfucker be up in
- 43:31Speaker 2: the gyms too, with h watching his kid. You know
- 43:34Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 43:35Speaker 3: Like, you know, you know he got hands hands.
- 43:37Speaker 2: No, I know, listen, listen, yeah, all of these cats. Listen,
- 43:41Speaker 2: don't get Frank Grillo. Frank Gorilla will fuck somebody up. Dude,
- 43:46Speaker 2: he got hands to man, all these superhero motherfuckers. Man,
- 43:49Speaker 2: for real, there's a reason.
- 43:51Speaker 3: That they got cast.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a reason.
- 43:54Speaker 1: But your kid is really good, Donald Tom Yeah.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Yeah he's getting there'll be all right.
- 44:03Speaker 1: We just had a birthday party for Donald, and the
- 44:05Speaker 1: talk at the party was how good your kid is
- 44:07Speaker 1: at basketball? I knew he was good, but.
- 44:10Speaker 2: I was late for the party because, oh my.
- 44:11Speaker 1: God, Donald was late to his own birthday party, which
- 44:14Speaker 1: is the most Donald faison thing I've ever experienced.
- 44:17Speaker 2: Well, I was late because I had to see this
- 44:19Speaker 2: kid play ball.
- 44:20Speaker 1: And now let me tell you the story. Let me
- 44:22Speaker 1: tell you a story. So we get his wife says,
- 44:24Speaker 1: come to the party at uh at three point thirty, right,
- 44:27Speaker 1: So we get there at like four, trying to think
- 44:30Speaker 1: we're coming fashionably late. A bunch of people at the
- 44:32Speaker 1: party and I walk in the house and on the
- 44:34Speaker 1: big screen TV in the TV room, there's a there's
- 44:37Speaker 1: a kid's basketball game on the TV. And I'm like,
- 44:41Speaker 1: what are they watching the kids basketball game for? It's
- 44:43Speaker 1: supposed to be a birthday party? And then Casey's walking
- 44:46Speaker 1: around and she's like, Donald's supposed to be here, but
- 44:49Speaker 1: he's still at the game. Look you can see his head.
- 44:52Speaker 1: And she points out it's a live stream from the
- 44:56Speaker 1: kids game, and she's she goes, he won't answer his text,
- 44:59Speaker 1: but that's his head right there. And so Donald didn't
- 45:03Speaker 1: want to leave his kids basketball game to come to
- 45:05Speaker 1: his own birthday party.
- 45:07Speaker 2: It was fun to watch. It was the chip too.
- 45:09Speaker 3: That's honorable.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Yeah, man, I put a lot of money and effort
- 45:13Speaker 2: and work into this kid after he was born. I'm
- 45:17Speaker 2: very I don't want to say proud, because.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Why can you not say proud a.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Little it's a little sinful in this conversation to be like,
- 45:24Speaker 2: I'm so proud of this boy. The boy's nice. He
- 45:27Speaker 2: got game. I can't do that ship, so.
- 45:32Speaker 3: He he's doing that. Was a beast.
- 45:38Speaker 1: He is. Because Donald Donald's brother Donnie is really really,
- 45:43Speaker 1: really good at basketball, at least back in the day.
- 45:44Speaker 1: He was right. And so Donnie took me. Donnie took
- 45:46Speaker 1: me aside, and he was like, no, no, no, for real,
- 45:49Speaker 1: this kid is good.
- 45:50Speaker 3: He got that killer instinct.
- 45:52Speaker 2: Well he's not intense yet, but he's so he's having
- 45:54Speaker 2: fun and he does well having fun, you know what
- 45:57Speaker 2: I mean. But there are a lot of kids out
- 45:59Speaker 2: there that are really good right now at ten years old.
- 46:02Speaker 2: That it's it's surprising that their tend the pandemic and
- 46:09Speaker 2: the availability of coaches now, Like when I was a kid,
- 46:13Speaker 2: we would watch TV and then go outside and play basketball.
- 46:16Speaker 2: Now these kids don't necessarily even watch TV. They watch
- 46:20Speaker 2: YouTube and then they go to a coach, and a
- 46:23Speaker 2: coach trains them, and they go to you know what
- 46:25Speaker 2: I mean, there's a trainer that trains them. There's all
- 46:27Speaker 2: of this stuff, and so the kids now are way
- 46:29Speaker 2: more skilled than we were. So my ten year old,
- 46:32Speaker 2: if I was ten and I ran into it, if
- 46:35Speaker 2: I hot tup time machine back to and brought him
- 46:38Speaker 2: with me. He would destroy me. Man, he would destroy me.
- 46:42Speaker 2: He would It would be a rap within he would
- 46:45Speaker 2: be He would probably shut me down.
- 46:47Speaker 1: Your brother, Donna was saying that Rocco, your son, reminds
- 46:52Speaker 1: him of you a bit in that a practice. He
- 46:54Speaker 1: wasn't always killing it, but the second they turned the
- 46:57Speaker 1: cameras on and the second there's people watching, he's is crushing.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Yeah, he goes on when the lights are on. That's
- 47:02Speaker 2: the That's a trait that I think all my family has.
- 47:06Speaker 2: When the light's are on, man, you better put the
- 47:07Speaker 2: show on it. That's it's time to work. It's kind
- 47:09Speaker 2: of kind of I suck it auditioning, but I'm good
- 47:13Speaker 2: when I get the job.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Right right when it's go time. What do I Craig?
- 47:19Speaker 2: You?
- 47:19Speaker 1: You have you have children then? And they played sports
- 47:22Speaker 1: and all.
- 47:23Speaker 3: No, I'm single.
- 47:25Speaker 5: So you posted a happy Father's Day thing and you
- 47:27Speaker 5: were at a game. But I wasn't sure if that
- 47:29Speaker 5: was like your kid or not.
- 47:30Speaker 3: No, I wouldn't like you.
- 47:34Speaker 1: I don't have You're like me, dude, I don't have
- 47:36Speaker 1: any kids and I'm single.
- 47:38Speaker 3: We have a girl. I have a girlfriend who It's cool,
- 47:44Speaker 3: but I don't have the kids.
- 47:45Speaker 1: Well, I'm trying I need someone to go out with
- 47:47Speaker 1: because every time I try and hit up Donald, like
- 47:49Speaker 1: what you're trying to get into He's like, I'm trying
- 47:51Speaker 1: to get into bed. He was at his party, going
- 47:57Speaker 1: he was at his party, being like, you had a
- 47:59Speaker 1: buzz on and we're in the pool. He's like, no, seriously,
- 48:01Speaker 1: I will be in bed in probably like three hours.
- 48:03Speaker 1: And I'm like, no, there's there's a party at your house.
- 48:05Speaker 1: He's like, I don't care. I will be in bed
- 48:07Speaker 1: three hours.
- 48:09Speaker 2: I got family members that fall asleep while the music
- 48:12Speaker 2: is playing. They'll sit in a chair and just everybody's
- 48:16Speaker 2: dancing around them for you know.
- 48:18Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 48:18Speaker 2: So you know there's the kind that sit there and
- 48:21Speaker 2: pretend that they're and they pass out. I'm one of
- 48:25Speaker 2: those that can do that. I will sit down in
- 48:26Speaker 2: the chair.
- 48:27Speaker 3: I know all about that life. Man. We need to
- 48:30Speaker 3: prioritize sleep.
- 48:32Speaker 6: Yeah, really, especially in this business that we in seventeen
- 48:36Speaker 6: hour days.
- 48:37Speaker 1: I know, I got the aura ring on and I
- 48:39Speaker 1: wake up every morning and I'm like, how'd I do
- 48:41Speaker 1: How'd I do it? And when I had a good
- 48:42Speaker 1: night sleep, I'm so happy about it.
- 48:45Speaker 2: How about what's your rim like? What's your rim?
- 48:47Speaker 1: My rim? Oh? Myrim. I'm not going to tell you
- 48:50Speaker 1: about my rim. If you want to know about my rim,
- 48:54Speaker 1: we should probably do it. When Craig Robinson's not a
- 48:57Speaker 1: guest on the show, I will tell you all about it,
- 49:00Speaker 1: but not with Craig.
- 49:01Speaker 6: Here.
- 49:03Speaker 1: My sleep is good. What's your rim like? Well, it's
- 49:09Speaker 1: like a balloon knot Donald, Greg. We try and we
- 49:15Speaker 1: we have a thing on the show where we talk
- 49:17Speaker 1: a lot about whiteboarding and manifesting and making the next
- 49:20Speaker 1: chapter of things we want to have happened in our
- 49:22Speaker 1: lives and career come true. Uh, do you have any
- 49:26Speaker 1: what's happening for you? What's the next thing that you're
- 49:28Speaker 1: putting on your on your real or your proverbial whiteboard
- 49:31Speaker 1: that you're manifesting to have happened in your life.
- 49:36Speaker 3: To be on name that tune.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Get the funk out of you? Serious? That could happen?
- 49:42Speaker 6: That's actually it's happening this week. I'm going to okay
- 49:48Speaker 6: a fly in Ireland tonight.
- 49:53Speaker 1: Really yeah, I feel like you should host you should
- 49:56Speaker 1: you could host that show here in the United States.
- 50:00Speaker 6: You know, I mean, hey, they already got a host.
- 50:05Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 50:08Speaker 6: Homegirl from from thirty Rock the Blonde, what's her name?
- 50:15Speaker 6: Jakowski jack Grokowski and then Raddy Jackson is on that too,
- 50:20Speaker 6: So I'm going to play you know for a couple
- 50:23Speaker 6: of days.
- 50:24Speaker 3: Uh in Ireland.
- 50:25Speaker 1: Well, tuning into that show without you hosting is going
- 50:28Speaker 1: to be a no for me. Dog all right, Greig Robinson,
- 50:35Speaker 1: thank you for taking the time. We appreciate you.
- 50:39Speaker 3: Thank you so much.
- 50:40Speaker 6: Likewise, right back at you, man.
- 50:49Speaker 2: That's nuts, man. How great was he?
- 50:51Speaker 1: He's so great. I love that he remembered some tweet
- 50:53Speaker 1: I wrote, like however many years ago and that it
- 50:55Speaker 1: meant something to him. That always makes me feel so good. Like,
- 50:58Speaker 1: you know, I used to be on Twitter all the time,
- 51:01Speaker 1: and the fact that I like called him out for
- 51:03Speaker 1: being funny and he remembers it that makes me feel happy.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Well, I mean, he genuinely is a funny man.
- 51:09Speaker 1: I'd love to work with him, man, I love him
- 51:12Speaker 1: straight up.
- 51:12Speaker 2: I think we would have a great time with that
- 51:14Speaker 2: whole gang. To be honest with you, I.
- 51:15Speaker 1: Would just love to like, like really work with him
- 51:18Speaker 1: and somehow work in the fact that he's such a
- 51:20Speaker 1: funny musician and the piano.
- 51:22Speaker 2: Player, like I sing with him.
- 51:25Speaker 1: Yeah, you can be good for the T mobile ads too.
- 51:27Speaker 1: I was just gonna say, he be a new neighbor
- 51:28Speaker 1: in the neighborhood.
- 51:29Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's got that pizza the Hut stuff.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Oh, he's a pizza.
- 51:33Speaker 2: He's the king of He's the king of. He is
- 51:35Speaker 2: pizza the like for what is it now, seven years
- 51:39Speaker 2: something like that. He was in the commercials and now
- 51:41Speaker 2: he's the voiceover. He's the voice of Pizza Hut now too.
- 51:44Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't see these ads because I
- 51:46Speaker 1: don't watch sports.
- 51:47Speaker 2: Yeah, really, there's a whole.
- 51:50Speaker 1: There's a whole like I like ads. I like funny
- 51:53Speaker 1: ads obviously, but if you don't watch sports or any
- 51:56Speaker 1: live TV, you don't see them.
- 51:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:59Speaker 1: I don't even our T mobile ads because I don't
- 52:01Speaker 1: want of sports.
- 52:02Speaker 2: Somebody.
- 52:03Speaker 1: The lesson is, the lesson is I need to get
- 52:06Speaker 1: into sports.
- 52:07Speaker 2: Well, there was a great hockey match last night.
- 52:12Speaker 1: Did you watch it?
- 52:13Speaker 2: I did not, But the Panthers wound up beating the
- 52:17Speaker 2: Edmonton Oilers, which is amazing because it looked like Edmonton
- 52:22Speaker 2: was going to come back from a three zero deficit,
- 52:25Speaker 2: which is unheard of in sports. It rarely happens, like
- 52:29Speaker 2: you know what I mean. I think it's happened in
- 52:30Speaker 2: baseball and in hockey it's happened a few times. But
- 52:34Speaker 2: in the NBA it doesn't happen.
- 52:36Speaker 6: Uh.
- 52:36Speaker 2: And they almost made the they almost made the comeback.
- 52:40Speaker 2: But at the end of the at the end of it,
- 52:42Speaker 2: all the Panthers came through.
