- 0:00All the Ballahana shut down like in the regime's Mallahu Rahman
- 0:02Rahim brothers, sisters, Salaam Alaikum.
- 0:04But welcome back to after Maghrib.
- 0:07We are around the midway point of Shahramadhan and we pray and
- 0:11Shah Allah. The month thus far has been
- 0:13spiritually uplifting and a chance to reconnect, of course,
- 0:16with the last final to Allah, the Holy Quran, the basically,
- 0:20but also with your friends, your family and your communities and
- 0:24of course, the podcast. So if you're not already
- 0:26subscribed, make sure you smash that subscribe button.
- 0:28Check out the last two or three podcasts where we're talking
- 0:31about Shaharam Avan. We've been talking about how to
- 0:34make the most out of this blessed banquet of the last
- 0:37panel to Allah and to really make the most of the days that
- 0:40we are in. We're approaching the most
- 0:43critical juncture of Shaharam Avan, that of course being a
- 0:47martyrdom of a Miramar, Manin, Alabita, Salaam Salaam, and of
- 0:53course the Knights of power, the Knights of destiny.
- 0:57Of course, we know that is worth more than 1000 months, Haydeman
- 1:02al Fisher, and this is inshallah something we are going to be
- 1:05looking at today in the light of Imam al Mehti, Ajahwah al
- 1:09Apology Sharif and how to use this month to really rekindle,
- 1:13reconnect and to understand Imam al Mehti and his mission, his
- 1:18purpose in a greater depth. As you can tell, I am not joined
- 1:22by my dear brother, said Ali. Unfortunately, he's not well
- 1:24today, so I just hope, we hope he's not going to miss his fast
- 1:28tomorrow. But we miss you, said Ali.
- 1:30But I have the most adequate replacement, my dear brother MO
- 1:35Salaam Alaikum Muhammad Ali. How you doing, bro?
- 1:47I'm good, I'm good. How was your week?
- 1:49It was good. The last time we did this exact
- 1:53pod with our blessed and respected guest, Muhammad asked
- 1:56me how was your weekend? And it was a Thursday, so I was
- 2:00like, it was, I was OK. I don't really remember it but
- 2:03Al Hamdallah, how was Shaharam al?
- 2:05Hamdallah has been good man. I've been mostly going to
- 2:09Stanmore, which is obviously as good as we have a various.
- 2:12Homes where the high is. Homes where the high is
- 2:14absolutely. So, Yeah, Al Hamdallah has been
- 2:16good, man. Yeah.
- 2:17How about yourself? Yeah, it's been good, man.
- 2:19We've had good discussions. It's different, of course, this
- 2:24year we were talking before the podcast about kind of the social
- 2:28challenges of parenting and kind of how in this blessed month,
- 2:32you are more irritable, you're more tired, you're more, you're
- 2:35more, you know, burdened. I don't want to say burdened,
- 2:37but your schedule's busier. So then you are more, you have
- 2:41to be more patient and more agile and versatile.
- 2:44So Hamdallah, it's been a blessing, but also
- 2:46responsibility in the test. But brothers and sisters, we are
- 2:50happy to introduce someone who's, I think, no unfamiliar
- 2:54face to you all. He's, of course, been on the
- 2:56podcast. And the last time he was here,
- 2:58Muhammad and I had the honour of sitting beside him, our dear
- 3:01friend, our brother, Sadiq Damani.
- 3:03How are you doing, brother? Hamdulillah, good, good to be
- 3:07there. Hamdi.
- 3:08Yeah. Welcome back to London.
- 3:09Hamdulillah. How?
- 3:10How's your trip being so far? Cold.
- 3:12Yeah. I missed the sun.
- 3:14Oh wow, it's been a warm frost event the last couple of weeks.
- 3:16We had a random 18° day the other.
- 3:18Day. I don't know where that came
- 3:20from because it was like 2. 3. Four.
- 3:22And now we're back to cold rain. And grey skies, well, London's
- 3:27London, right? It will never change I was
- 3:29hoping. You do forget you.
- 3:30You grew up here, so yeah. It doesn't doesn't feel like it
- 3:33sometimes, you know, like seeing the grey skies.
- 3:35What is this thing? I've become so accustomed.
- 3:37You have of course been speaking in Haideri Jamaat, South London,
- 3:41Hamdallah. We've had great feedback and I'm
- 3:44sure it's been good. How's it been for you?
- 3:46Really nice, really, really nice.
- 3:48I think it's a, it's my in law community, right?
- 3:51That's why I'm married into the community.
- 3:53So there's always, there's been like a nice relationship over
- 3:55there for the last 10-11 years. It's nice to see people like
- 4:00some of the topics we went into were not just, I guess your
- 4:03typical pulpit topics. They were a bit more academic, a
- 4:07bit more theoretical. And it was nice to see these
- 4:09guys glued for like 4550 minutes straight.
- 4:13I think there's like a, there's an interest in seeing textual
- 4:17proofs, understanding what their element have to say, not just
- 4:20always being necessarily inspired at a high level, but
- 4:23actually to go, let's go in a little bit and then come out by
- 4:26the end of the day and see where you emerge.
- 4:27And I think there was some it's nice to see people engage with
- 4:30that more and then ask you after like, so can you tell me where I
- 4:33can buy these books? Like, wow, that's, that's our
- 4:36objective, right? Connect to their Isle of Man,
- 4:38take everyone there. So it's good, Hamdallah,
- 4:41Hamdallah. We're of course, as I mentioned
- 4:44at a really critical point in Shah Al Mahan, we are
- 4:46approaching such heavy and and weighty nights and, and it can't
- 4:53be understated how important the the Knights of Power ladies of
- 4:57Qatar is. If I can ask you just to start,
- 5:01what does it really mean to you on a personal level, on an
- 5:04emotional level? How do you connect?
- 5:06How do you spend your nights of God that I know over the last
- 5:08few years there's been these discussions about how to spend
- 5:11the nights. Is it ritualistic and rigid or
- 5:14as kind of free flowing and you go where the heart is, you know
- 5:18as you were saying earlier when you when you become a parent.
- 5:21And harm the the the dynamic changes right where you where
- 5:24you used to pull off a full night.
- 5:27You're now thinking my kids going to be up in 40 minutes.
- 5:31Yeah, it's a slightly different dynamic.
- 5:34Honestly, that led me to something you could call it a
- 5:36CHEAT SHEET perhaps, but it's there for a reason.
- 5:41And that was monojat of tatibin, which is recommended in the Amal
- 5:45somewhere. I don't think it's one of the
- 5:46prominent things that's recommended us.
- 5:48But any, anything that takes you towards Allah, especially in
- 5:50Toba on these nights is very special.
- 5:53And frankly, the reason why I picked it for I think it was
- 5:55like maybe four years ago when my son was just born.
- 5:57And it was very much in like the, the lack of sleep phase.
- 6:02It was just what's quick, being very blunt, what's quick.
- 6:05And I came across and it was like 8 minutes.
- 6:07OK, good. You know.
- 6:09So I remember I sat there and put my headphones on.
- 6:13I think it was Mulla Mortova. Quraish, Quraish, Quraish,
- 6:18Quraish. Quraish.
- 6:18Quraish spell, Quraish in English spell.
- 6:21Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mulla Ortola, beautiful and
- 6:24beautiful smell, God bless him. And he had he was reciting it
- 6:29and I just remember thinking like, OK, if this is like the 8
- 6:31minutes I've got off the night or whatever time I had, let's
- 6:34focus in. And that's now become a pinnacle
- 6:38part of my and I'd really recommend it to everyone who
- 6:41discuss it's a it's it's 100% worth it.
- 6:43Like turn down those lights, let everyone else go to sleep.
- 6:46And if you just want to focus in like the way that it begins when
- 6:49I when I tell you know, one of the early lines is like I've
- 6:52clothed myself in ignorance and the imagery of it when we had to
- 6:59study English GCSE. What's the imagery of the verse
- 7:01when we don't care about William Blake and war poetry.
- 7:04But now we're in the realm of like spirituality and and
- 7:06godliness and told me like yeah. And if I and other verses along
- 7:11the lines like if I was to knock at any other door, then which on
- 7:14the door would I arrive at? It's just like this kind of
- 7:17theme and it's it's beautiful. So that and especially, I think
- 7:20when you start to realise the importance of the Emalem sun
- 7:25within the Knights of Qadar, the raising of the must have for the
- 7:29Quran on one's head. And really seeing that these two
- 7:33things are, you know, Sharif Al Quran, the partners of the Quran
- 7:37or the part of the Quran, you start to realise that, wow, what
- 7:41was just a place the Quran on the head and get arm ache
- 7:44halfway through has now turned into something a lot more
- 7:47powerful on that night. Rather, it's it's it's renewing
- 7:49beta 100%. In many ways, they are the
- 7:52interpreters of that book. And again, even if you pick one
- 7:56imam of that night, if you're struggling on time or focus or
- 7:58whatever, pick one Imam or just invested in them.
- 8:01They can, they can do wonders. Yeah, wonders.
- 8:04Yeah, man, I I completely resonate with that actually.
- 8:07You know, like you said when you you connected with Munaja Tata
- 8:12being for me for the last few years, I think Ziya Jamita is
- 8:18huge. And it's, as you said, it's
- 8:21recognizing the connection with of the IMA with this knight.
- 8:25And especially when we're talking about the importance of
- 8:29the knight and the like, the magnitude of the night, I feel
- 8:32like Ziya Jamita teaches you or tells you the magnitude of your
- 8:37Imam on that on that night and allows you to really think
- 8:41about, you know, the the focal point of this night of that who,
- 8:46who is this man that, you know, is, is, is embodying this like
- 8:51beauty on this night. So, yeah, genuine, like
- 8:54genuinely, I think that is it's so beautiful as well that you
- 8:58said that when you're listening to this dua or munaja Munajaat
- 9:03or Zearat or however to ponder upon the meanings of them, you
- 9:08know, like that in itself is a form of Ebada, right?
- 9:11The idea of you know, because pondering upon the meaning is is
- 9:17searching for knowledge as well, right?
- 9:20And searching for knowledge in itself is also in Ebada and
- 9:23especially. On the Artman night.
- 9:24On the Artman night. Exactly.
- 9:26So yeah, that to me is is is is very important as well.
- 9:30I think I struggle a lot with recitation of of long art mile
- 9:35and I'm just being very honest. Yeah, yeah.
- 9:37That's not a good, that's not a good thing.
- 9:39I like, I hope to improve on that on that front.
- 9:42But I think in terms of being able to ponder on meanings, even
- 9:45if it's like a short part of it as Yara that is recommended on
- 9:49the night or any of the Amal to be able to sit and to be able to
- 9:52ponder really deeply into the meanings of of any of them
- 9:56because they're all treasures, right?
- 9:58Everything that we recite and it's taught by the Imams, Iim,
- 10:01Salam, they're all treasures. So even being able to ponder and
- 10:04to be able to understand even maybe a fragment of of some of
- 10:08the things that we recite, it's it's huge on on a nightlife.
- 10:12Case of 500% there's, there's so many benefits to gain.
- 10:15And I think we spent the last couple of weeks really trying to
- 10:19reconnect with, with especially the Holyoke Quran.
- 10:22And we find we find so many themes.
- 10:24Last week in in our podcast, we were talking about covenants in
- 10:28sort of Baqarah and how Allah has the covenant with mankind
- 10:32and Bunny Sahil. And, and then of course, he
- 10:34talks about Nabila Muhammad Sallallahu Ali and how the
- 10:38people recognise and await him and await the the final message
- 10:42in the book and then reject him upon his arrival.
- 10:45And at that point, when I was reading that, I had kind of a
- 10:50realization that we have traditions which talk about the
- 10:53same sort of context with Imam al Mehti.
- 10:56So, for example, we, we see a rabbit or not money, if I'm not
- 10:59mistaken, that at the time of his the hall, the people come to
- 11:03the Imam and he'll say some go say to him, go back, O son of
- 11:06Fatima, after recognizing him and praying for him.
- 11:08For so long, 11 centuries, our Imam has been in labour.
- 11:13He has been non apparent to us and I think that's such an
- 11:18important thing to recognise that although he is content with
- 11:21the will of Allah, the color of Allah span to Allah.
- 11:23At the same time, he is anxious to be able to come and to to
- 11:30fill the world with justice and Iman and of course Yakin in the
- 11:35final in the true message. A lot of the time we hear about
- 11:38the connection between the holy of Quran and Imam al Mehdi.
- 11:41Of course, in sort al Israel we read Bismillah Rahman al him.
- 11:45Beware of the day we will summon every people with their leader
- 11:48Imam. And I think that's something
- 11:50which brings my mind to Imam al Mehdi, but in the context of
- 11:55Layal al Qadar and Imam al Mehdi.
- 11:58What is the kind of the relationship and the correlation
- 12:02between our awaited and our current Imam and the the night
- 12:06of the night it comes down? Ultimately our indication, I
- 12:10guess begins with that blessing Sora of Khazar itself, where the
- 12:16verse gives you a clue about something to investigate as to
- 12:19what's going on. Just a point on that before we
- 12:22look at that specific verse within it, because we're
- 12:24speaking, we're about to mention our stories because of Sheikh
- 12:25Somali in one of his discussions prior to Shahram Alam beginning
- 12:29that he posted on his channel, which I think everyone even if
- 12:31you've Shahraman's begun still ever watch of it.
- 12:34He was speaking about preparation for Leila Zumkazov
- 12:38and he said and as we were saying before the podcast, like
- 12:43he's before recording that he's very measured.
- 12:45He is very measured Scotland very he was on our podcast.
- 12:48I saw you had just recently on Salah.
- 12:51I think he had a beautiful. I don't think don't neglect your
- 12:53Salah like keep on to that was. Such a amazing you know what?
- 12:56So when people, and This is why we always say go back to their
- 12:59Aluma, not to just randoms, go back to their aluma who are
- 13:01measured, who are refined themselves here.
- 13:04We've known him since we were kids.
- 13:06He was the guy on the pulpit where we were like, is he still
- 13:09talking? We were those Muppets.
- 13:10You know, he wouldn't mind us saying that, I'm sure teacher.
- 13:13But like, listen, we now see, OK, we were given a gift, you
- 13:16know him and shape up and poor like really?
- 13:18So he was saying as a measured, measured Adam.
- 13:22He said the ulama prepare for Shahrukh fin.
- 13:26Leila tan khadar. The morning after Leila tan
- 13:29khadar finishes. Wow.
- 13:31So Leila Tan Khadar, let's say it's tonight, they finished by
- 13:35Fajr, they start preparing for next Leyland Telhader after Fajr
- 13:40300 and whatever days. When he said that, I was like,
- 13:45that's nuts. He said how you'll find a lot of
- 13:49them. They'll say recite Swords and
- 13:51Kader 1000 times a day. If you can't do it throughout
- 13:54the year, these 30 days or 1920130123 days up until later,
- 13:59Telhader comes Swords and Kader every night, every day, thousand
- 14:03times. This is the level that these
- 14:04guys because they understand the matter for that night.
- 14:08They are prepping it. They are really prepping.
- 14:12And I remember one of my teachers when we told him that
- 14:15we were expecting our second child, he was like Sadak, just
- 14:19keep reciting sort of some kind of don't stop, don't stop.
- 14:22Just just tell your wife, keep, keep reciting, keep.
- 14:25What's the obsession when you understand that it's every
- 14:30single Amor comes down in that night, you know?
- 14:34OK, there's that these guys who are clearly on a certain level
- 14:37realized something about this night that we don't appreciate,
- 14:40you know, and if you imagine the Emali and Saddam are of people
- 14:44who can see beyond many veils, I'm going to get into a
- 14:48theological session. How many veils?
- 14:49All the veils, whatever. They can see many through many
- 14:51veils. They can see things that we
- 14:53can't see in this life. They can, for example, see.
- 14:56Anyway, we'll leave that discussion to another side, but
- 14:58they can see things. You do wonder about those angels
- 15:01descending on that night. What are they seeing and what
- 15:04are they experiencing in that time?
- 15:07And that verse, Tenez, Zululu, Melaka, war, Ruhu, which is
- 15:11again another big discussion. What's there?
- 15:13You've seen the Melaka and the roar Fihab in the rabahim in
- 15:17Kuliam Kuliam. OK, fine, All of this stuff is
- 15:21descending. We would inquire to where?
- 15:26Upon what? In what context, right.
- 15:29And it's not, I would say it's from my understanding, it's not
- 15:33explicit in the verse as to where it is going.
- 15:35We just know stuff is coming down or these angels are
- 15:38bringing it down and the roar is bringing it down.
- 15:41But we enquire as to where. And the narrations are very
- 15:43clear about what the answer is to that.
- 15:46And it's a shame that I would say we don't look at that enough
- 15:52if we don't go back to those narrations enough to say this
- 15:55line of enquiry where we kind of stop there.
- 15:56And here let's, let's contemplate, let's reflect on
- 15:59this first one. If you're missing a crucial
- 16:02piece as to where it's descending, your reflection or
- 16:05your pondering or your Teddabur is going to be very limited in
- 16:08scope. If you just expand slightly,
- 16:11read a couple of the wires associated with it from the
- 16:14fasiline, you'd be like, oh, it goes down to the most
- 16:18spiritually refined perfect soul or Hajjah upon the face of the
- 16:24earth at that time. Yeah.
- 16:26And then you start thinking and then you start reflecting going
- 16:29what's his role, what's he up to?
- 16:31How does that affect us? What is he going through in that
- 16:35moment? And so on.
- 16:36The whole thing opens up. And that's that's why I think
- 16:38this discussion opens up this connection between Leila
- 16:41Salkhador, Saurat, Alkhador Senezil and Mila Mila.
- 16:44OK, where are they descending to?
- 16:46Where are they are going upon? And then we see it is with the
- 16:50Imam, and that's where this whole thing opens up.
- 16:52How can we prove that though? So when we say Kulli Amar, what
- 16:55does that mean? Well, I mean, I've seen some of
- 17:00the Omar they mentioned with regards to Amar and Amar of
- 17:04Allah's panel to Allah, this is something that's mentioned in
- 17:06Zhatu JAMA as well, right? Well, emeru ileiko, right?
- 17:10The idea that Allah's, they translate it as affairs.
- 17:16You could say the other and the other of Allah.
- 17:19The mechanisms by which Allah keeps the universe afloat or in
- 17:24existence. I mean everything to do with
- 17:28existence. Essentially this is the Amor of
- 17:30Allah, Subhanaw to Allah, right? So when we understand men, Kuli
- 17:34AM it, it it it's truly beyond comprehension.
- 17:37Even when we talk about the Amour of Allah's panel to Allah,
- 17:40that is everything to do with his shown and his affairs that
- 17:45is descending upon the Imam on that night.
- 17:47So yeah, like as as brother Sadaq mentioned, you're talking
- 17:52about an individual who is in the place of Rasulullah on that
- 17:58night, Rasulullah upon whom the angels would descend, the ruh
- 18:03would descend. As you mentioned.
- 18:04Obviously there's discussion about what that ruh is.
- 18:08Obviously the Mufasareen, they mentioned different opinions.
- 18:10There's some they say that it refers to Ruhul Amin, which is
- 18:14Jibrahil. And then there's there's then
- 18:16there's a discussion while Jibrahil is from the Malaika.
- 18:18So how can it it distinguishes between Malaika and ruh.
- 18:23And I remember I read the ruhaya from, I believe it was Imam al
- 18:27Barker, Ali Salaam. It might be in tafsir forat of
- 18:31coffee if I remember correctly, and he mentions that the rule is
- 18:37Fatima Ali Hasalam. Now I looked at an explanation
- 18:41of some of the ulama with regards to this and they
- 18:43mentioned basically that the rule being mentioned here is not
- 18:46ruhal Amin but ruhal odos. And the idea that this is the
- 18:50mechanism through which Allah subhanahu to Allah has supported
- 18:53all of his prophets. All of the Hajj of Allah
- 18:56subhanahu to Allah from Adam all the way to our Imam were
- 19:00supported by this kind of entity or this mechanism that is
- 19:05referred to as Rahul Kodos in the Quran.
- 19:08And the on the, on the realm upon which the Noor of Muhammad
- 19:14Sallallahu Ali like exists, that part of the Noor of Muhammad is
- 19:21what is represented by, say the and that to me as well is is
- 19:26beautiful in, in the sense that because obviously we see the
- 19:29imagery with regards to the Layla itself, right?
- 19:33And the idea that the Layla is, say the Fatima Zahra.
- 19:36And it brings it all together in the sense that you see the
- 19:39connection as well between Imam Sahab Zaman and say the Fatima
- 19:42where Imam Sahab Zamani says in this stocky where in the leafy
- 19:48fibrilla hassana that I have a great example and my in the
- 19:54daughter of Rasulullah. So you can see the connection
- 19:57there between Imam Zahab Zamma and Seyda Fatimah Zahra on that
- 20:01night. That night is the night of the
- 20:03Alan Beit 100% the and and of course, our teacher Shekhar
- 20:09Mandamani also mentioned a point that I didn't think of as well
- 20:14that all in M. Which is mentioned in the the
- 20:17people of the amma right? So you can see how the Quran and
- 20:22Hadith are also like they build you.
- 20:25Intertwine the picture. Like it's a jigsaw puzzle puzzle
- 20:28that only fits together in one way, right?
- 20:31I think it's beautiful, genuinely.
- 20:34And I think there's a big part of this, perhaps you can say for
- 20:37for many of us, we we all know about Hadith Akalain and we all
- 20:42know that Salaam Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi told us to
- 20:44hold on to these 280 things, that Quran, the Qatar, Allah.
- 20:49Well, it's like the, the, the, the, the family of the Holy
- 20:53Prophet and to never to hold on to them and you'll never go
- 20:56astray. And he says until the day of
- 20:59Kiyama. So then the question of course
- 21:01arises, if they are always to be together, never to be separated,
- 21:05how will that be the case? And until the day of Qayama, if
- 21:08after the whole life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad's Allahu Ali,
- 21:11what is the Quran, you know, kind of joined with what is it,
- 21:17what is it, what is it connected to?
- 21:20You know 100% till today until today, right?
- 21:23And and the verse gives that away in in the verb that it
- 21:26uses, Tenezalu Malaika. It's continuous.
- 21:28Yeah, yes, yes. The Tenezaluu, yes, you have to.
- 21:31You have to question. It doesn't stop at the end of
- 21:33the prophet's time. It continues and then go on.
- 21:37To say so, is that a point to say that it wasn't a case where
- 21:40the Amar of Allah span to Allah until Yomalkayama was revealed
- 21:43at the time of the Holy Prophet? It can't be the case right?
- 21:46That all of the Amar of Allah until Yomalkayama was revealed
- 21:50at the time of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
- 21:51I have no idea what was revealed.
- 21:52Because if the if the verb, no, what I mean is if the verb, if
- 21:56the verb is an ongoing. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:58Form it was always coming was revealed.
- 22:01Rather it reveals on in a continuing ever going form.
- 22:04I would it's something to something too scared to to offer
- 22:07comments. Who knows, maybe online gave
- 22:09everything to the prophet in. That one night and then I I
- 22:12don't know what you want to discuss.
- 22:13So would you say that this, especially this, this kind of
- 22:16verse and of course the many other verses in the Holy Quran
- 22:20point to a rational argument about the existence of the Holy
- 22:23Imam? I feel like we live in a day and
- 22:26age where when we think of Shahad Al Mahan, when we think
- 22:30of it in one form, a separate entity to the Holy Quran, which
- 22:33we see in a separate light to the and we see these, as you
- 22:37say, as different pieces in the wider jigsaw possible.
- 22:41We don't glue it together. So a big issue we have is I feel
- 22:45the the, the shirk and the doubt that comes with the existence of
- 22:50the Holy Imam. May we be sacrifice for him and
- 22:55shame upon us as a community for devaluing the Holy Imam.
- 22:59And I think a lot of that comes back to our own personal
- 23:02conviction in not just his existence, but the application
- 23:07of his presence in our daily lives.
- 23:10How do we kind of balance this and understand this?
- 23:15And here we begin. This is this is this is the
- 23:17journey. This is OK.
- 23:18Let let let let's try this, right?
- 23:20I'm going to I'm going to mention a couple of narrations
- 23:23that I found about this night. Just to answer to your earlier
- 23:26point off what's happening after the Prophet, right?
- 23:29Because if we can illustrate through a narration that the
- 23:35Tenziel is taking place beyond after the Prophet's death, then
- 23:39we open up this discussion of, OK, Haditha faqalain is now
- 23:43actually not adding up. But it can't again, it makes
- 23:45sense, right? It's continued to the Imam or
- 23:47Ali, Ali Salaam, who else does it continue to?
- 23:49And if we can prove that, then we can arrive at the point, OK,
- 23:51what's going on with the Imam? And if I've got Sheikh in his
- 23:54existence or in his birth or whatever the Shubha Hut is
- 23:57nowadays, there always seems to be a new one coming out, then we
- 24:00can address that and pick it apart.
- 24:02Yeah, pick it apart. So 2 narrations.
- 24:03The first one's a little bit longer, the second one's quite
- 24:05short. In fact, I'll start with the
- 24:07short one because, you know, attention spans are short.
- 24:09So we'll go with this one. Then we'll go to the long one.
- 24:11Is from Holy Faith for my mum, Baqar Ali Saddam, where he's
- 24:14reported to say do you know when it is the night he was asked?
- 24:18Do you know when it is the night of Qatar?
- 24:21And honestly, this line, this response is a goosebump. 1 He's
- 24:26asked, do you know when it is? The Knight of Qatar on
- 24:29Bahrainism reported a reply saying, how can we not know when
- 24:33the angels surround us on that night?
- 24:38That's a madness. That's like Tenezolin melodica,
- 24:45right? They're coming down.
- 24:46So if they're going somewhere and he's saying, how would we
- 24:48not know? Did you see?
- 24:51Did you see the bus? Yeah, because it came up in
- 24:53front of me. I saw it, yeah, of course,
- 24:55because what are these? What are these angels doing
- 24:57around me? Where are they?
- 24:58Where are they going? The long generation.
- 25:01So that proves it from Malabar, Ali, Saddam, which again you
- 25:04would assume would apply to the prior 4.
- 25:06But. Do you mind mentioning the books
- 25:08and just so that? For sure I can bring this one.
- 25:11It's it's always that's nice to proper more.
- 25:13It's nice to Yeah, I know, I know you.
- 25:15You weren't nice for the viewers to, of course, hear the names of
- 25:18the books. Familiarize us.
- 25:19I like the. Answer though, because the
- 25:21reference I have here is via Bihar, so we need to go and
- 25:23check it. It won't like be answered there.
- 25:27But yeah, it's found in Bihar 9414.
- 25:29But we can we can go and check it.
- 25:30It's probably going to be from, not Omani or.
- 25:32Shechers or something? Then the longer narration that
- 25:37proves it early from earlier from the first time or Ali
- 25:40Salaam. Ali Salaam reported from his
- 25:41father, mum Bahar Ali Salaam again once Imam Ali Ali Ali
- 25:45Salaam recites it, saw it to Qatar in the presence of his two
- 25:47sons, mum Hassimar Hussein Alihi Salaam, and he said to them and
- 25:51Imam Hussein Ali Salaam said to him his father or father.
- 25:54It is as if recitation brings a sweet taste to your mouth.
- 25:58The Imam replies or Alleli Salaam, oh son of the messenger
- 26:01and my son, I've experienced in this night what you have not yet
- 26:05experienced. When it was first revealed your
- 26:08grandfather sent for me and recited it to me.
- 26:11Then he gripped my right shoulder and said, Oh my
- 26:13brother, my successor, the custodian of my nation after me,
- 26:17and the one who will fight my enemies until the O Multiyama,
- 26:20this Sora is for you after me and for your children after you.
- 26:24Indeed, Jibrail, my brother amongst the angels, has informed
- 26:28me of the future of my nation and will keep you informed just
- 26:32as he did with me during the days of my prophetic mission.
- 26:35This Sora contains a light that will radiate in your heart and
- 26:38the hearts of your successes up to the advent of Al Khar Imman.
- 26:42Wow, checkmate. Yeah, checkmate fully.
- 26:47Checkmate not not to use a Haram game.
- 26:50Yeah, yeah, yeah. Checkmate.
- 26:53Everything's there. It's done.
- 26:54It's. Done who, when and where and and
- 26:57the. Continuation when and so
- 26:59suddenly this this is the thing. It's it's very difficult for at
- 27:03least for me to digest having sniffed the slightest of
- 27:08fragrances of generations that have made Salam.
- 27:10Thanks to our mentors and teachers who have exposed us to
- 27:13them to not pair up these verses of Quran with the narrations
- 27:18that go alongside with it. It's almost like now when I read
- 27:20a verse of Quran, I'm like, OK, beautiful.
- 27:23And what did the Imam say about it?
- 27:24That's like where my head goes now.
- 27:25And what did the Imam say about it?
- 27:27Because I don't want to apply my version of this understanding.
- 27:32OK, so the angels came down. It was at the time of the
- 27:35prophet. So it's only the prophet.
- 27:37OK, so it stops there. Imagine if someone starts their
- 27:40reflection with this kind of mindset because there is no
- 27:44explicit statement to an English speaker.
- 27:47Let's say that this is a present tense, it's ongoing and it must
- 27:51therefore continue to the imam of our time.
- 27:52They could just tell you like, wow, it must have been such a
- 27:54special night. There's so many dollars on that
- 27:56night. You're missing the whole picture
- 27:58because I don't, I don't have a lot of laziness, intellectual
- 28:01arrogance, lack of willingness to want to understand that the
- 28:05right are going to open this up for you.
- 28:07But when you open it up with that, your whole reflection now
- 28:09goes on Imam Imam Hodge on the earth like it's a whole
- 28:14different game, right? And I would say the lack of
- 28:20conviction that maybe the average Joe, average Jawad has
- 28:24in the Shiite community, let's say if they get more exposed
- 28:28generations like this, you could argue that all of the
- 28:31intellectual proofs or rational proofs about the existence of
- 28:34the Imam are not even necessary because they're seeing this
- 28:36going, Oh my God, the Imam is so central to all this.
- 28:39Why would I even bother doubting his existence?
- 28:42Like this almost serves as a proof for them, right?
- 28:45If they're told by a trusted set of scholars that these are
- 28:47trusted narrations and so on and so on, of course they'd be like,
- 28:49well, it'd be silly for me to doubt.
- 28:51Like I'll give you just to hold the example, Imam what mean Ali
- 28:55Salman, Imam, let's take Imam Hassan.
- 28:57Ali. Salam.
- 28:57They're not going to sit there going.
- 28:58I doubt the existence of Imam and Hassan.
- 29:00Why? Because that I've heard so much
- 29:02about him. I've seen his central role in
- 29:03some of the battles. I've heard La Yomakiyomakiya
- 29:06about Abdullah. I've heard about his poison
- 29:08liver and his wife. But like there's too much going
- 29:11on there in historical accounts and what I've heard and what I
- 29:14understand for me to now go, ah, but he didn't exist.
- 29:17But when it comes to the Imam, our lack of general
- 29:21understanding about his role, his, his, his remit, his
- 29:26willaya, etcetera, kind of makes us go, well, I don't really know
- 29:29much about him, therefore he probably doesn't exist either.
- 29:32So we're kind of going the other way around.
- 29:33We're going, I need to figure out that he has exist, he does
- 29:36exist and don't understand what he's like, which is also fine.
- 29:39But I think that's also because we're not spending enough time
- 29:42with with the narration. Honestly I feel like I spammed
- 29:44this but genuinely Karam kumnor like genuinely like it's as you
- 29:50said if if we are not reading the Quran and not immediately
- 29:54thinking what did the imam say about this?
- 29:56There's a severe lack in our understanding of the religion as
- 29:59a whole like when we look at the Quran.
- 30:01This was a discussion I was following recently.
- 30:04Very interesting discussion about the ayat of the Quran,
- 30:08whether they are mokam or muta shabe.
- 30:11There's ayat in the Quran that will describe the entire Quran
- 30:15as mutashabe, Kitaben mutashabe. OK, can a whole book that is
- 30:21ambiguous in its in its meanings.
- 30:23And then there are ayat which mentioned kitaben.
- 30:26Oh, kemat ayatu from my first relat, right.
- 30:30The idea that there is a the book, the Quran that has been
- 30:33made entirely clear. So you're sitting there
- 30:36thinking, wait a minute. Which is it?
- 30:38Which is it? Yeah.
- 30:39You've got the ayat that are saying that it's completely
- 30:41unclear, and you've got the ayat that are saying that it's
- 30:44completely clear. So surely there's a context to
- 30:47both of those ayat that explains it, right?
- 30:50And you see that in the ayat in Sora to Al Imran where Allah
- 30:54says that, that The Who are Lady Angela Khattab minhu ayat and
- 31:04Mokkamat. And now that tells you is saying
- 31:15we've sent down the book in it there are mokam ayat, clear
- 31:18ayat, and there are ambiguous ayat, yes.
- 31:21As for those who have disease in their hearts, they're going to
- 31:23follow those which are muta shabe seeking its
- 31:26interpretation, but none know its interpretation except for
- 31:29Allah And those who have been ordained with knowledge who we
- 31:34see in the hadith and we know from common sense to be honest
- 31:37are the albeit are in slam. So therefore you can see the
- 31:42context there. There shows you that if you do
- 31:45not return to the albeit or ask one of them for the tawin for
- 31:48you, that whole kitab is not a Shabbat.
- 31:50Shabbat. Yeah.
- 31:51You you don't have you. You don't know what's going on.
- 31:54It's not ambiguous. You're going to be coming up
- 31:56with all sorts of just a few interpretations.
- 31:59I know. And there's a danger there,
- 32:01right? It's a Sharan danger.
- 32:03Yeah, the imam said manifesto Quran birahi he forgot kafa.
- 32:08Yeah, it's. Crazy.
- 32:09Whoever does stuff seal of the Quran with his own opinion, he's
- 32:12disbelieved, right? So there's a there's a big
- 32:15danger there. Like if we're not thinking, what
- 32:18did the Imam say about these ayats?
- 32:20There's there's a very, very amazing discussion that Sheikh
- 32:22Mansouralli, he mentioned in one of his lectures last year in
- 32:25Shahramadhan in Kenya, Nairobi. I think I was like, Oh my God
- 32:31when he said this. Yeah.
- 32:31And we'll return to the conversation with Imam, but I
- 32:34think it's important one for us to digress a little here.
- 32:36He said in this verse, he said open up your Quran.
- 32:41Go to that page I said check in your must have in the page when
- 32:46it gets to what rasikhone filler in just before it you'll see the
- 32:52signal to stop in your Quran. It's like, why?
- 32:57Because people are trying can decide who to say the insight?
- 33:03What's the the insight? Of the yes and they say that the
- 33:07wow is exactly rather than wow. So basically.
- 33:12In the types of wow. There's different.
- 33:15Types of wow. So what they say is that and
- 33:18they want you to stop, stop. So they say only Allah knows
- 33:21it's a wheel. And then they say that the world
- 33:24was just enough. He starts a new.
- 33:26Sentence and then he pulls out a hadith.
- 33:31He pulls out a hadith and I think it was a Mama Sadiq.
- 33:34I could be pulls out hadith where it's like we like we're
- 33:37commanding you continue. Did you finish with what Ross
- 33:40Cornerfield they are part of those who give you this chat
- 33:43week Marshall yet the scriptures and again we can put the verse
- 33:46probably somewhere on in the description or whatever.
- 33:48Let people go and check that that sign is sending you to
- 33:51stop, but the Imam is sending you to go.
- 33:54Keep going. Why?
- 33:56Because. And you know, what's interesting
- 33:58I think is that with regards to the Rasconafil endpoint, people
- 34:02think that the Shi I believe that the Rasconafil end or the
- 34:06wow, the Shi I believe is wawel up and it continues to
- 34:09Rasconafil end. And the Sunnis believe that it
- 34:10stops. But even if you go back to
- 34:12classical Tafasir in the in the in the Sunni paradigm, there are
- 34:17companions like Ibn Abbas and other like scholars that come
- 34:22after him in the Sunni paradigm that are claiming to be
- 34:25Rasconofil Ellis. So that shows that that opinion
- 34:28as well linguistically is a viable.
- 34:31Opinion. It means that means that they
- 34:32wouldn't believe that. They're claiming.
- 34:34Right, they're claiming that we're the Rasconofil ilm who who
- 34:36know the Tasirafa. Kora, which tells you what they
- 34:38would have been believed about that.
- 34:40Wow. Exactly.
- 34:41So it started off them trying to take the the the statement away
- 34:45from the two days. Yeah.
- 34:46And now they want to just cut off the.
- 34:49There's nothing new there, right?
- 34:50Yeah, exactly. Alright, I'm gonna, I'm going to
- 34:52progress this with because we've, we've got a big I'm I'm
- 34:56I'm interested in this and I think it addresses some critical
- 34:59points about the, as the beta and the holy Quran.
- 35:02And of course that that hadith you mentioned Imam Hassan and
- 35:06Miramat Manin, and then of course, the Holy Prophet
- 35:08Muhammad and the Miramat Manin Aliyah Salah Salam, that those,
- 35:12those hadiths parallel so well with these verses.
- 35:16I think when we're talking about the weighted Imam and we're
- 35:20seeing that these things all start to make sense.
- 35:24If we're like detectives and then we're looking at all these
- 35:26pieces of a mystery and you know, and also murder mystery.
- 35:29But it's kind of like in that sense, it's, it's a, it's a game
- 35:32to the sense, you know, for us, right, we're, we're trying to
- 35:34decode this, deconstruct this holy book, these, these holy
- 35:39narrations and, and trying to make sense of it.
- 35:42We've got all of these pieces of evidence.
- 35:44Now what do we do with it, especially in the world, like
- 35:46you said, there's a lot of them. The Shabbat about kind of the,
- 35:50the birth of the imam or the the role of the imam.
- 35:54What are in your minds? Unless you've got something else
- 35:56you wanted to say, like another narration.
- 35:58No, no, I think, I think we can. We can.
- 35:59We want to. What are in your minds perhaps
- 36:01some of the most striking evidences for those of us who
- 36:06may struggle with conviction about the Imam Ajala Alafaj
- 36:10Sharif, about his existence, his birth, the likelihood that he
- 36:14does exist? I know for example, we've spoken
- 36:17in the past and we've done a lot of content in Hamdallah after
- 36:20Maghrib, our our event a couple of weeks ago, Hamdallah in his
- 36:23honour and much more where we talked about there being doubts,
- 36:29not so much as to the fact that Imam and Methi was born, but
- 36:34more so who was it that was born, his name, the details and
- 36:38so on and so forth. But have you got anything which
- 36:40you can help to enlighten us with just?
- 36:42Before that, I'm so sorry to to interject, but also if you could
- 36:47speak about first of all, why are there even doubts?
- 36:50What, what, what is the origin confusion?
- 36:53Or why is there a higher as to like like if we are to describe
- 36:58it like that, why is there a confusion in the 1st place?
- 37:01Sure. Why is there a confusion in the
- 37:041st place? I guess on the one hand that the
- 37:06narrations tell us it's going to be there, so it's going to be
- 37:08there. So we can't do anything about
- 37:09it. In some respects, it's a
- 37:10guarantee that's going to happen and we're going to be filtered
- 37:12and filtered and filtered and we'll see who's who's remaining.
- 37:15But I guess if we were to like look at society right now and
- 37:18what's going on at least within our share communities, right?
- 37:20And I'd say this is true. And I wouldn't say in all ethnic
- 37:24share communities. I'd say there's a small number
- 37:26of them that are suffering from this at the moment more than
- 37:28others. I don't want to say who and then
- 37:30get into all that kind of stuff. To be honest.
- 37:35I think there has been a lack of #1 feel deeper theological
- 37:41recognition of the importance of Imama in the pursuit of a
- 37:47slightly more woke version of Tawheed where people have
- 37:53unfortunately pinned the interests in the existence of
- 37:59the Imams as Hulu and dressed that up as this is modern
- 38:05Daeshianism. So if you believe in the Imam,
- 38:07if you believe in Imam Ali Ali Salaam is of such a level of
- 38:10understanding. Ross Horneville Hainman amongst
- 38:12them. Oh, come on, man, you've gone a
- 38:14bit too far here. It's so I mean almost saying it
- 38:18makes me feel lame. How how can they even arrive at
- 38:22these conclusions. But unfortunately, I guess in in
- 38:24the realm where someone doesn't understand the connection
- 38:28between the vice gerund of God upon this earth.
- 38:32If someone comes up to you, and I think this is true of a lot of
- 38:35youngsters and even adults, actually, someone comes to you
- 38:37and says Islam is a monotheistic religion.
- 38:40It's all about Torhid. It's all about Allah.
- 38:42Yeah, look at you asking for help from, you know, it's it's
- 38:46such a nice, nicely spiritualized argument That
- 38:49sounds very pretty, Sounds very pretty.
- 38:52But then when you see the eyes of you know, the Prophet needs
- 38:55to do forgiveness for you. It's like, well, hold on then
- 38:57that's that's messed up a bit there where you say key him.
- 39:00OK, he's purifying like you have so many other eyes.
- 39:02And then I actually know Allah has given certain authority to
- 39:06these individuals in order to carry out things on God's
- 39:09behalf, like you and I can do. If we are given a realm of
- 39:13ability, you can ask someone, please do that on behalf of me.
- 39:16I've commanded you to do it. I'm the one that's doing it.
- 39:18But I've just delegated it to someone, right?
- 39:21So I think it's maybe come from a place of, ah, Islam, tahid,
- 39:25tick. Tahid equals no partner with God
- 39:28tick, no doubt. So that doesn't mean Allah can't
- 39:31delegate responsibilities to people.
- 39:32That doesn't mean he doesn't involve certain Hodge Hodge of
- 39:35him on earth. Had he wanted to, had God wanted
- 39:38to, and I remember one of our teachers said this, had God
- 39:41wanted to reveal this Dean to his mankind, he could have done
- 39:46so. Had he wanted to do so without
- 39:48the use of intermediaries, why not?
- 39:50He can do whatever he wants. So what is the wisdom behind
- 39:54saying in this earth, I'm going to place within it a Khalifa
- 39:59right away from Adam. What was the wisdom behind that?
- 40:02There must be something right? There must be a reason why
- 40:06124,000 of them come across. He's like, I'm going to use you
- 40:10guys as a way to project this message.
- 40:12Now there could be many, many reasons for it.
- 40:14One of them is that we can then say, OK, you did give us a
- 40:17fellow human that we can relate to to a degree and that's a way
- 40:21for us to get there. But as soon as these guys have
- 40:24pitched this idea of God to heed.
- 40:27Don't go to anyone else because otherwise that's anti tahrid.
- 40:29And the average Joe doesn't understand the connection
- 40:31between the herjudge of Allah, the herjudge and Allah.
- 40:34Then they're like, Oh yeah, that's tahrid.
- 40:38That's how it works. And your scripture tells you
- 40:40that. So I think that's maybe where
- 40:41it's and I think it's a very like sincere intellectual
- 40:45pursuit of someone young who's like, yeah, well, I do just want
- 40:47to go to God. I do just want to go to, it's no
- 40:49problem. Go to God.
- 40:50But he's commanded you to suit certain things like obey him and
- 40:53the Prophet and those in authority are from amongst you.
- 40:55So clarify your torrid a bit. So I think that may be where
- 40:58some of the concern has come from perhaps.
- 41:01It's interesting there's a there's a rewire in Kamaluddin
- 41:06by Shaq Sadour. He mentions A hadith where he's
- 41:10speaking about Mam sahab Zaman and is speaking about why he was
- 41:14named and there's multiple rawayat that mention he's meant
- 41:19he was called it because of this and he was called it because of
- 41:22that. But this one really like it sent
- 41:24shivers down my spine. And I spoke about it on on Jamaa
- 41:27Knights as well. The Imam says in it, he says in
- 41:33the Masumi al Khatim that he was called Khatim because he will
- 41:42rise after the death of his remembrance.
- 41:46And then the next line is more scary.
- 41:48It says what irritated Akhter al Qaeda bit Imamati that most of
- 41:54the people that believe in his Imama will apostasize from the
- 41:57religion. You'll be like, what does that
- 41:59even mean? Somebody that believes in the
- 42:01Imam or al Qaeda bit Imamati, someone who's calling him the
- 42:05Imam has done irritated from the religious crazy.
- 42:09Now you're you're you're trying to understand.
- 42:10OK, what does that irritated mean?
- 42:13What does it mean for his remembrance to die?
- 42:16Right. And it's as you were kind of
- 42:18mentioning earlier as well that you were saying like with
- 42:21regards to our events and if we were to truly fuel the presence
- 42:25of the Imam, it. Would be central.
- 42:28How different? Everything.
- 42:30How different would our life? Be which which I I would I'd
- 42:34chime in here to say and it very much is within the hoser.
- 42:39When you spend time with the senior element of the hoser,
- 42:42they don't stop talking about the Mr. it's the central theme
- 42:46of everything right That is they begin with it they end with it.
- 42:51But in the English speaking world it.
- 42:52Hasn't trickled down. It's not there not not to that
- 42:55extent, not to that extent. And I was saying some of the
- 42:58brothers were asking me, they were like how can we figure out
- 43:00where can we get our trusted guidance from?
- 43:02I said, look, if you see a pattern amongst the senior,
- 43:05trusted, widely trusted, we're not talking about right wing,
- 43:08left wing, broad, like 99% of Shia Alema, you'll see common
- 43:14themes between them. You'll see they're very humble.
- 43:16You'll see they're very softly spoken.
- 43:18You'll see they're extremely well read.
- 43:20You'll see their grasp of Arabic is immensely strong.
- 43:22You'll see them weeping with ease about say the shahada and
- 43:26you'll see them constantly referring to the Imam of their
- 43:28time. Yet if you now take some and
- 43:31there's many more things, if you take that barometer and place it
- 43:34in front of people that you are listening to today, you're like,
- 43:37you know what? It's not about what he said.
- 43:39It's about what he didn't say. He didn't talk about the imam
- 43:42for the last 10 different discussions he's had.
- 43:44He didn't I mentioned about the last 30 discussion.
- 43:47In fact, when he refers to him, he refers to him as a movement,
- 43:49not as a person. He's very subtle though, right?
- 43:53It's very subtle, but you pick up on these little clues.
- 43:56Once you know what the established belief system is,
- 43:59you start to compare that as the litmus test.
- 44:01You're like, something's missing here.
- 44:03It'd be like, for example, if someone was like, you know, they
- 44:06come onto your onto the podcast and they're like Mashallah, you
- 44:09know, the the eloquent Caliph Ali was a very wonderful guy
- 44:13because you guys have strong Iman that he is an Imam.
- 44:17He'd be like, why is this guy saying like Caliph Hazarat Ali,
- 44:22OK, maybe there's culture there, but he keeps talking about why
- 44:24did you never say Ali Salaam, you know, Ravi Allahuan, you
- 44:26know, hold on, hold on, hold on. The clues are there because
- 44:28there's a certain norm. There is a certain norm about
- 44:31the way that their alima speak when it comes to their general
- 44:33muha. There are their general lectures
- 44:35and you'll always see the imam being mentioned.
- 44:37I remember one of my teachers said something that blew my mind
- 44:40when we started, I started sessions with him, very senior
- 44:43alim. And he said in one of the latter
- 44:46books of us all that Hausa student will study.
- 44:49A very senior Hausa student will study one of the authors, I
- 44:52think Chef Alan Sareba. I could be wrong, but he writes
- 44:55in the like introduction of his book that along the lines of if
- 45:01there was nothing left to drink on the face of the earth except
- 45:04wine, wine becomes allowed for you to drink in order to stay
- 45:08alive. He was basically saying our
- 45:11research as olamar is like wine. It is the very, very, very last
- 45:17resort that becomes wajiban you to follow.
- 45:21But as soon as the Imam comes, forget all of what we've done.
- 45:25There's no point because now you've got now we go back
- 45:27straight to the source that puts into perspective.
- 45:31These guys are like I've given 7080 years, but if the Imam was
- 45:36to now appear before my eyes and I was to recognise him, all my
- 45:40books put them to one side. What do you have to say?
- 45:45Because they have that mark of him, because they've pieced
- 45:48everything together, right the way from the proof of Fuckalane
- 45:51to illustrate that, right the whole way through.
- 45:53There must be a continuation. Tenezil and Malaika, it's still
- 45:57happening. OK, Who's it happening to today?
- 45:59And look at all these narrations and look at the biography,
- 46:01biographical analysis and so on and so on and so on.
- 46:03And they're like, it is almost bizarre for an individual to not
- 46:08arrive at this conclusion. And maybe we can now like start
- 46:10going into it to look at these. Absolutely, absolutely.
- 46:12Like we see in the in the reports as well that those who
- 46:17are the greatest of of all time are those who have been given
- 46:20intellects Marafa such that the Imam to them is like they are
- 46:25witnessing him that he's not in labour.
- 46:27So we see there first of all, there's intellectual arguments,
- 46:30right? There's all right, there's
- 46:31intellectual kind of understandings about the
- 46:34existence of the Imam that make you feel like or or not they
- 46:39make you feel like you, you are in the presence of the Imam.
- 46:45And I think that's a great place to start when we're talking
- 46:48about intellectually, just proving that with conviction
- 46:51that the Imam is present. Like how would we go about that?
- 46:54We go about. Fine, so we're going to refer to
- 46:56save money here because as we know for all of us, this is well
- 46:59out of our depth. So we just follow what the
- 47:00senior Alima have said. For those who don't know, I
- 47:03think obviously you guys had him on the podcast and I shall laugh
- 47:05and making that happen. Save Munir is one of the I told
- 47:09I said Munir Abbas is one of the most senior Alima in today's
- 47:12age, we'd say based out of Najaf at the moment.
- 47:15Previously informed originally from Saudi, a direct student of
- 47:19the likes of ISIS, Sistani himself, Itella Wahid himself
- 47:23and others. It's breezy as well.
- 47:25I think he was taken and many others and he's recognized to be
- 47:27one of the most senior around. So he has a series of discourses
- 47:30on our awaited saviour, which have been compiled into a book
- 47:34called the Mehdi Understanding the awaited.
- 47:36All of the books that transformed my view, at least in
- 47:39my relationship with the Imam and forever indebted to the
- 47:41respected say it. So in one of his chapters, it's
- 47:44called a necessary reality and he goes into proving the
- 47:48existence of the Imam. OK, initially he starts at the
- 47:52point of the proof of Thakalain is like that's more than
- 47:56sufficient. Actually that covers you.
- 47:59He looks at also a Lavina yachtman or Nabil Rabe in
- 48:01Solitude Bukhara and there are wires associated with that to
- 48:04say that the Rabe is the Imam and the mutarin that I mentioned
- 48:08are the followers of Imran Oman. Again, that should suffice.
- 48:10And actually the rational proof of Imarma should also suffice
- 48:13because if you believe that Imran Oman is if you believe
- 48:16that there is a concept of the Imam and Imran is the Imam and
- 48:20therefore the trickle down effect thereafter, that should
- 48:22actually suffice you more than enough that there is a 12th Imam
- 48:25and games done right. However he goes, let's now
- 48:28investigate into the Imam himself to put all this to to
- 48:31all this to bed. Now we need to understand the
- 48:33method that he uses. And I'm going to read this out
- 48:37so that people don't think this is just sadly going on a rant or
- 48:40anything, right? I just really want to read this
- 48:41out. This is my notes from his his
- 48:43books. I can't say these are quotes,
- 48:44but I'm pretty sure they were quotes.
- 48:46He basically says, how are we going to do this?
- 48:49Are we just going to check for Sahih narrations only, which
- 48:51again has become the new cool thing, right?
- 48:54So he narrations very important, we're not disputing that.
- 48:57But is that the only technique one can use in this science in
- 49:01order to investigate? He says, He says it's a
- 49:05fruitless way to analyse history and it is not a scientific
- 49:09approach either. There's a big statement coming
- 49:12from such a big scholar, right? Who is you know, Ishtihad?
- 49:16Times are many, many faults. Right.
- 49:18So it's not the first time he's mentioned that even even with
- 49:21regards to some of his reviews on on on other scholarly works
- 49:25that have written about history using only Sahih narrations,
- 49:29he's mentioned that multiple. Times like.
- 49:31This is not the scientific. Part So he said if we took this
- 49:34approach, we wouldn't even be able to approve anything much
- 49:36regarding the Holy Prophet Salallahu Alayhi 1 So he's like,
- 49:40what can we do then? So he brings along the approach
- 49:43of say, the Sistani and Shaheed Mohammed Barkhra, Saddam and
- 49:47Allah grant him a greater, greater status in the heavens
- 49:50and the shallah say to Stani along the life bit.
- 49:52And they learn all of our trust in Maraja.
- 49:54So they use the approach of mathematical probability,
- 49:56cumulative probabilities, where they say, if I was to bring you
- 50:00one piece of evidence, you may say, OK, there's a good chance,
- 50:05let's say 20% chance of this being true.
- 50:08If I was to bring another piece of evidence, OK, maybe 20 + 20,
- 50:12I'm about 40% sure. And if I bring enough pieces to
- 50:15the detective table, as you said, the inverse of a murder
- 50:18scene, you know, the proving of something, right?
- 50:20But it is, it is kind of that right, Trying to look at the
- 50:22CCTV footage and check everything out.
- 50:25At some point you get to the point where not to make this a
- 50:28bit weird, but you know the whole Epstein thing with
- 50:30Madeleine McCann and you know, they're looking at the pictures
- 50:32of the woman that was with her and they're like, oh, is that
- 50:35the one then you look at? OK, well, she was involved with
- 50:38Epstein and and it starts to people will say it starts to add
- 50:40up. That is this kind of method of
- 50:42being a detective and putting all the evidences together.
- 50:46So again, it's important to mention this is a method that
- 50:48said Sistani himself advocates for.
- 50:51And therefore you arrive at the point where you have the more
- 50:54evidence you get to a point of probability where you reach to
- 50:57your own conviction, a level of certain certainty and
- 51:00conviction. Now what is required for Ahmed
- 51:03to get to that point of certainty will be different to
- 51:04Muhammed. It's not necessarily you may be
- 51:07convinced after two, right? I'll give an example.
- 51:09If someone comes in randomly to the studio now and says, ah,
- 51:12Marshall Allah, your friend Hassan has just had a son.
- 51:15None of us know him. He's a complete unknown.
- 51:17He's mature rule to us. We'd be like, OK, I mean, the
- 51:21fact that he knows that we have a friend called Hassan sending
- 51:23us as a kid, high probability. But maybe because he's much
- 51:26whole to us, he's unknown. We don't know, right?
- 51:29It's a great way to explain why even narrations that have
- 51:31someone who's much whole don't necessarily make them
- 51:33unreliable. Because this guy knows someone
- 51:35called Hassan, that he's a friend of ours and we know that
- 51:37his wife was pregnant and he's just had a kid, that the content
- 51:41actually is more important than the guy who's come to tell us,
- 51:43right? But let's say now another guy
- 51:45comes in and he's like, guys, Mobrook, your friend Hassan,
- 51:48he's just had a kid. You're like, OK, too much.
- 51:51Whole people have now come in and they've said he's had a kid.
- 51:55Pretty likely, right? But maybe Ahmad, like now, bro,
- 51:57I'm skeptical. I'm not sure.
- 51:59I'm not. I'm not feeling like me.
- 52:01So I'm tired today, you know, I'm not having it.
- 52:04Third guy comes in, OK, maybe you know him and maybe he's not
- 52:07a trusted guy, though maybe he's actually is completely wrong.
- 52:09But at least you know him. And he says, oh, this guy who
- 52:12has said he's had a kid. So too much hole.
- 52:14One body, but one that. If and I was like, I've reached
- 52:17conviction, this is a great way to illustrate how one can arrive
- 52:21at conviction even without having someone that you know is
- 52:23Muttahi and firm belief and trusted of good memory, right?
- 52:27So I think for our viewers, it's important for them to understand
- 52:30why this method is more than accepted because apparently we
- 52:33don't trust Seizistani enough. So we have to, you know, explain
- 52:35what his method as well. OK, so seizist same one of them
- 52:39brings many different pieces of evidence.
- 52:42The first evidence that he comes with is very, very obvious when
- 52:45Lukulukhomenhart for every generation there is a guide or a
- 52:50leader and similar to the verse that you mentioned, Ahmed, that
- 52:54you'll be raised by Imam Mahim with their leader.
- 52:57So even from a starting point Yeoman had or kulna or nazim
- 53:00Imamahim and even from a starting point again, this is
- 53:03one piece of evidence that is now brought to the table.
- 53:06Now Thakalain when added to that, that I'm going to leave
- 53:09you 280 things and one of them is from one of them is the
- 53:12elevator Ali Musam. Even in Ehlusunna books within
- 53:15musnard is there and word for word is I leave amongst you 280
- 53:20things, one of which is greater than the other, the Book of God,
- 53:22which is a book extending between the heavens and the
- 53:23earth and my house on the progeny.
- 53:25The two will never separate until they reach me at the pond
- 53:28of Paradise. Therefore, for so long as first
- 53:31piece of evidence to bring to the table, we're putting all the
- 53:33previous ones aside. First piece of evidence, for so
- 53:36long as the Quran exists, does it exist?
- 53:38Yes, there must be a partner with it.
- 53:41That is from Ehlebate Alim Salam, correct?
- 53:44We would now say in our detective mode, we've got no
- 53:47names on the table yet. We've got to ask the question in
- 53:50our first clue of the day. Who could that be?
- 53:53Yeah. Obviously the Shia sat over
- 53:56there will go. I've got a name, Imam Mehdi.
- 53:58Thank you. We put it on our table.
- 53:59But we're objective, non bias detectives.
- 54:03So OK, we've got one name, Muhammad al Mehdi from the
- 54:07lineage of Hussein, from the lineage of Said Zahra and Rasul
- 54:11Allah Alayhim after Rasilati or Sara, Fine.
- 54:14Any other names? What you got?
- 54:17What you got? Yeah, you know, Mahali's
- 54:20grandson. OK, bring what you want.
- 54:23You know, who have you got? Actually, even at this point,
- 54:26there's a big stumbling block. How many more names can you put
- 54:30forward? Even based on this singular
- 54:32point? That doesn't necessarily mean
- 54:35that that is enough to say it is the imam, but it is enough to
- 54:38say there are no other names in the hat.
- 54:41Even if you put another name in the hat.
- 54:42Let's see if they survive the test of time from the rest of
- 54:45them. OK?
- 54:46The rest of them would then for example, have there's a lot more
- 54:49discussion here. I don't want to go into it too
- 54:51much, but let's let's see what the next one says.
- 54:54We now have that first piece of evidence.
- 54:55There must be an Imam whilst the Quran is there or a leader
- 54:58whilst Karan say fight Imam Mehdi.
- 55:01Second condition or the condition.
- 55:02We can now check against this. Now we go to a narration from
- 55:06Sahi Muslim. I always find it weird calling
- 55:08it Sahi Muslim. Anyway, let's run with it.
- 55:11The religion will continue to be established until determined our
- 55:15IE judgement Day or you are led by 12 successors, all of whom
- 55:22that's already condition one. No one else put a name in the
- 55:25bag, just in Marmetti. Let's say there's a guy called
- 55:27Jawad who's in the hat as well. OK, Jawad, random guy, but
- 55:31people think he's a very good leader, like the woolly hat guys
- 55:34or whatever. Are they still around by the
- 55:35way, Woolly hat guys, they're still going.
- 55:37They're still about they're still about still arms to them.
- 55:40You know I'm. Really interested in for another
- 55:43to be careful what we're saying. Like so I don't know the story.
- 55:49Off camera, off camera, off camera, off camera.
- 55:51Salaam to them. Yeah, no, not even that, but
- 55:54even. There anyway, so let's say we've
- 55:57got Imal Mehndi and Jawad. There's two names in the hat.
- 56:00The next condition that comes is number one.
- 56:02You're led by 12 successors. Is Jawad coming from 12
- 56:05successors? Highly chance no.
- 56:07What does 12 successes mean? Leave it to your imagination,
- 56:09come up with whatever you want, but the only person at the
- 56:12moment that's looking like someone is connection to
- 56:14something off 12 who are successors.
- 56:17This mammal Mehdi still gets another big team, but there's
- 56:19another clue in this same narration.
- 56:20Again, this is from Sahi Muslim and now narrations.
- 56:22It's too easy. So we're doing it from the other
- 56:23side, all of whom are from Quraish.
- 56:26Quraish Jawad, Where'd you come from?
- 56:29Right mammal Mehdi Quraish sure loving this, He's enjoying it.
- 56:35So it's very clear. It's very clear.
- 56:37And same actually provides says Ibn Ibn Kaffir, one of the Sunni
- 56:40Maliki scholars in his Tifsilon. It says apparently this includes
- 56:43the Mahdi who was promised in the narrations that mention him
- 56:46and tell us that his name is the same as the Holy Prophets.
- 56:49So. Now you narrow it down to name.
- 56:51That's. Wrong.
- 56:52But you've got, you've got to ask the rational guy who has
- 56:54just said one random guy came in and said your friend has just
- 56:57had a kid. Mobrook has some context.
- 57:00This guy's come in and said, by the way, that Imam that you guys
- 57:02need to be looking up to, he's from Quraish within 12
- 57:05successes, basically the whole vibe.
- 57:07Who have you got? Literally the only name we've
- 57:11got is Mohammed Mehdi. Now Mohammed, he's like, I'm
- 57:14already 100% it's done. Ahmed's still 20%.
- 57:17Still not sure. So OK, we'll keep going.
- 57:19But actually that's more, more than sufficient at this point.
- 57:22OK, third one, this is a very interesting one.
- 57:24I if I was to critique this, not that I mean in my place, but as
- 57:27in out of preference as to which arguments I prefer.
- 57:29This one was a bit like this is a bit of a weird one, but I'll
- 57:32share it anyway. Seminar says in the Old and New
- 57:34Testaments. This is the third piece of
- 57:36evidence in the Old and New Testament even before Islam, of
- 57:39course, in the book of Isaiah and in the Book of Revelation in
- 57:42the Gospel of John, there is a name known as Pyric Lytos, which
- 57:47translates to the praised one. What is the translation of the
- 57:50name Muhammad? So who is this guy?
- 57:55So again, random Christian now comes in says we've got someone
- 57:58called Parekh Leitos. I think I've definitely
- 58:00mispronounced them. Anyway, means the praise 1.
- 58:03Who've you got? Does Jawad stand the test of
- 58:05time or have you got another candidate that it adds another
- 58:08level of probability. He then says a guy called Al
- 58:11Qadi Assembity, a convert from Christianity and a Hanafi Muslim
- 58:13says this description does not apply to any theory except for
- 58:17that of the Imamiyah in regards to the existence of Muhammad Ibn
- 58:21Al Hassan as the 12th Imam. If that's not brought someone
- 58:26yet to certainty, I start to wonder what will.
- 58:30But no worries, save money keeps going and I think he'd by his
- 58:33own admission say this isn't all of them, this is just a small
- 58:36package of them. The next one he then says is
- 58:39that he goes OK, let's now go back to the 3rd century, IE at
- 58:41the time of labour. Tasola, what's going on?
- 58:44Of course we have the four ambassadors of the Imam, the
- 58:47father and son, and then two people disconnected from the
- 58:49father and son and disconnected from each of them, he says.
- 58:53No notable scholars of all Muslim denominations at the time
- 58:59denied his birth or his labour. Say that again.
- 59:03No notable scholars at the of all Muslim denominations at the
- 59:08time of Labour's Surah denied the imam's birth.
- 59:13Technical question, Go on. What about Ash Al Mahani?
- 59:16Or did he deny? No.
- 59:17Ash Al Mahani claimed to be. He didn't deny the birth, he
- 59:23just misrepresented himself. Tried to be Joab basically and
- 59:27then the other evidence hatted him out.
- 59:29Now this is a very interesting point and one of the other Alima
- 59:32mentions this. They said if there was ever a
- 59:34time to call out someone's sudden fake existence or fake
- 59:39birth, prime time would be at the time it happens.
- 59:44It wouldn't be a century later. Even ten years later, you're 10
- 59:49years too late to the. Fact you do there and then of
- 59:51course. Makes complete sense.
- 59:53Yet we have the four ambassadors saying yeah we're back and forth
- 59:55in letters. No one's saying you're not.
- 59:58No one's saying you're making it up.
- 1:00:00No one reputable is saying that anyway.
- 1:00:02He's saying even if you look at Shekhar Khalani, Shekhar Sadour
- 1:00:07Ibn haul away etcetera, they all report their own sightings and
- 1:00:10dreams and interactions with Imam Ali Salah.
- 1:00:13Very true. No one's saying that they're
- 1:00:15lying. So where did it all come from?
- 1:00:18Where did that whole argument of these guys must have been lying
- 1:00:21come in? Not at the time.
- 1:00:23It comes later. Why did it come later?
- 1:00:25He's to figure out how we're going to mess up and add some
- 1:00:29deception to this. Maha, your style basically,
- 1:00:32right? Who am I going to pay to
- 1:00:33fabricate stuff and mess things around for people?
- 1:00:36So he said there was so the same when he was saying there's so
- 1:00:39many of these sightings and reportings such that it reaches
- 1:00:42the level of Tawata off too many are happening.
- 1:00:45Therefore it must be true because they're all isolated
- 1:00:48reports where these guys don't even have relationships with
- 1:00:50each other except the father and son.
- 1:00:52And he goes into a proof as to how this could be the case of
- 1:00:55how could they go and replicate the exact same handwriting over
- 1:00:59a span of 69 years when they were all distinctly different
- 1:01:02from each other except the father and son.
- 1:01:03But that's not to say that they could have colluded with the
- 1:01:06other two ambassadors. He's like, is this not enough
- 1:01:08now at the 3rd century time? What's also interesting is in
- 1:01:12the topic arts, like the way that the Imam writes is you can,
- 1:01:17you can sense the you can sense the Quranic meanings within them
- 1:01:21within every single line. Like you can take a topic and
- 1:01:24you can go through it line by line and you can find either a
- 1:01:27verse or another hadith that shares at least wordings or or
- 1:01:31concepts within. It's like the Imam showing you,
- 1:01:34he's saying, I'm saying exactly the same as what my forefathers
- 1:01:36said. Here you go analyse it.
- 1:01:38Even if you if you have issue, analyse it.
- 1:01:42I remember one of our teachers said, I think it was Imran
- 1:01:44actually could be a mistake. And so I don't want to misquote
- 1:01:46it. But you were saying, again, when
- 1:01:48you spend time with these kind of ulema at the top of their
- 1:01:51game, because they've spent so much time within the narrations
- 1:01:55and then story time to kind of explain it.
- 1:01:57And the the concept is there, but the exact technicalities may
- 1:02:00be different. He's saying one of these
- 1:02:03students came into it, came into a class and basically said to
- 1:02:05his teacher, I'm struggling with the narration.
- 1:02:08So the teacher said, tell me which narration is this?
- 1:02:11He's like, it's from your Masada and he says blah, blah, blah,
- 1:02:13blah, blah, blah. And the teacher looks at him and
- 1:02:15goes, that's got the fragrance of Mahmud Bakar, IE these guys
- 1:02:20know when it's coming from a muscle.
- 1:02:22They're that well tuned with it. They're that up to date.
- 1:02:24They understand their wording, they understand their approach.
- 1:02:27They understand the nuance between the way the different
- 1:02:29Imam Ali Muslim would write, right?
- 1:02:32You speak to someone who's been studying and translating.
- 1:02:34For example, one of the brothers has been one of the senior
- 1:02:36scholars has been translating national for the last 21 years
- 1:02:39right and he did Charlotte soon to publish in English right.
- 1:02:43You were to ask him. I'm going to present you with
- 1:02:45something from a mirror on what Menin and something from Ahmed
- 1:02:47Calvin and he said because he spent so much time he meant like
- 1:02:50immersed in it like this feels more like a mirror on what Menin
- 1:02:54because they're used to their wording.
- 1:02:55I'm not even saying put if the director.
- 1:02:57Says everything's tonality and it's.
- 1:03:00Interesting as well that this is actually mentioned in the rewat
- 1:03:03about the fuck a Hut. It says Lana udu al fape hum
- 1:03:08incom fape Han hatta yul hanafil all that.
- 1:03:11We don't consider a fape to be a fape until he understands the
- 1:03:15Latin like, which is the style like in the way that they speak
- 1:03:19even like this is like it's comparable to like even some of
- 1:03:24the old like poets in Jahiliya and even at the time of the
- 1:03:27imams, like you could hear their poetry and the people that know
- 1:03:30poetry. You know people who say that,
- 1:03:31yeah. And even for us, if someone
- 1:03:34presents Shakespeare in front of us, yeah, as much as we didn't
- 1:03:37understand what's going on with Shakespeare, speak on behalf of
- 1:03:39all yeah, immigrant children who couldn't care less about
- 1:03:42Shakespeare, we were like. Star Shakespeare, you can.
- 1:03:44Tell you could tell, right? And guys were very passionate
- 1:03:47about let's drop Noori's name in, you know, this is a Noori
- 1:03:49poem. Yeah.
- 1:03:51Right. You don't even need to question
- 1:03:52it. It's a Noori poem, right?
- 1:03:54When when you see that at that time they're receiving these
- 1:03:57letters and no one's causing a doubt about it.
- 1:03:59They're not accusing the Knight of Bean of being fake.
- 1:04:01They're not accusing Cheryl Collini of making it up or what
- 1:04:05do we want, right? So we add that again, does Jawad
- 1:04:08stand that test of time? He's struggling at the moment.
- 1:04:10We need to change Jawad because I feel like I'm acting.
- 1:04:12Can I, can I, can I ask you, sorry, just to, to kind of
- 1:04:15interrupt, but is, is the, and I know we've been going on guys,
- 1:04:18sorry. So we're going to try and wrap
- 1:04:20up soon and shout Allah. But my question is, is, is a lot
- 1:04:24of the doubt about the fact that the Imam is the Imam Muhammad al
- 1:04:29Mehdi Ajdallahlad al Afolaja, or is it Jawad?
- 1:04:33Or is it actually about whether he was born, if that makes
- 1:04:36sense? OK, I know even if he wasn't
- 1:04:39born, then a lot of these things don't make sense.
- 1:04:41It gets to 11 and not 12, right? Right.
- 1:04:44So is is the question then. So as it was what I'm trying to
- 1:04:48understand. So what's the alternative?
- 1:04:50So for example, if someone's like, I'm not convinced what has
- 1:04:53been the alternatives put forward?
- 1:04:55I I honestly don't know a credible argument for what's
- 1:04:58been put forward instead. Except I'm not saying this is
- 1:05:00credible. It's just a viewpoint that I've
- 1:05:02heard that some people have kind of flown with, which is it's
- 1:05:05very much the Sunni stance. We believe there is someone, he
- 1:05:09has the name Mehdi or isn't known as a concept of a Mehdi, a
- 1:05:12guide for people, and he's coming soon.
- 1:05:14So for example, he is yet to so he will not reappear, he will
- 1:05:20appear. Yes, that's that's basically the
- 1:05:22only thing that I've heard that is, I guess I don't think it's
- 1:05:25credible, but it's it's an opinion.
- 1:05:27Have you heard that? I think, I think if we get
- 1:05:29through the rest of the evidences, I think even that.
- 1:05:33That's that's very much the, that's very much the next one,
- 1:05:35yeah. That is, is barely realised.
- 1:05:37So. I'll mention these pretty
- 1:05:38quickly, I didn't realise the time had gone that quick.
- 1:05:40But he then presents another one which is basically that Imam
- 1:05:44Khaldam Ali Salaam mentions and prophesises the name of the
- 1:05:47names of all of you inmate including himself and after him
- 1:05:50I'm not sure the awaited saviour.
- 1:05:52Again, if you believe that this is sufficient in its metin and,
- 1:05:58or if you need to clarify it's chain, if if that's kind of the
- 1:06:01approach you're taking, yeah, go for it and see where you end up.
- 1:06:04That'd be another additional evidence.
- 1:06:06Like why would a Maqsoum Imam suddenly come up with these
- 1:06:08additional names? And again, the name that was
- 1:06:10mentioned, the end was not Jawad.
- 1:06:12Jawad was ninth. I think that's why I was like,
- 1:06:13we need to stop acting Jawad anyway, let's go with it.
- 1:06:16But actually this final name does come up in the narration.
- 1:06:19It ends up by saying Ali, Muhammad, Al Hassan, Miner Ali
- 1:06:23and the Hajja, the son of Al Hassan are my leaders.
- 1:06:25I vow, I vow allegiance to them and forswear their enemies.
- 1:06:28So it comes up, right. But actually, if we now look at
- 1:06:31the birth point and this is where same 1 takes a slightly
- 1:06:33different town. And I really like these
- 1:06:34arguments he presents. He says if we want to understand
- 1:06:38something, we need to go to the specialists of that area.
- 1:06:41If we're trying to ascertain the birth and lineage of a group of
- 1:06:44people, we need to go, do we need to go to genealogists
- 1:06:47because they're the specialists. So what do genealogists have to
- 1:06:49say? Because that could actually be
- 1:06:51case in point, right, in terms of his birth and existence.
- 1:06:53And it's from the right lineage. So he says looking at the family
- 1:06:57of the Hashemites, there are at least 17 non 12, the
- 1:07:01genealogists that testified to the birth of a child named
- 1:07:04Muhammad to Al Hassan Al Askari Ali Hassan.
- 1:07:07And he lists them and we won't list them for now.
- 1:07:09He then goes to another argument again saying let's go to the
- 1:07:12historians view. And he said many historians of
- 1:07:14all Muslim denominations have recorded his birth and his
- 1:07:17occultation. And again, he mentions all of
- 1:07:19them. So I would say if you look at
- 1:07:22even those 17 non 12A genealogist that testified to
- 1:07:26the birth of the Imam, you could take the cumulative probability
- 1:07:30mentality. So I don't know if he's born but
- 1:07:34let me go to non 12 or to avoid any bias.
- 1:07:36Yeah, multiple experts. Each one of them is.
- 1:07:39Another the cool. Guy that's come to tell.
- 1:07:41You. Yeah, none of them have anything
- 1:07:42to benefit. From it and that and if itself
- 1:07:44would suffice as a intellectual. Proof.
- 1:07:47That that arrives, that's very interesting.
- 1:07:49So at the conclusion of it, it is very clear that any
- 1:07:53reasonable and rational individual cannot say #112 is
- 1:07:58not something that's distinct. The fact that the from Quraysh
- 1:08:01is not distinct, the fact that there must be a continuation
- 1:08:04because of Thakalain is not distinct.
- 1:08:05The fact that the people at the time in the 3rd century around
- 1:08:09the time of labour to Sukara were speaking about him,
- 1:08:12receiving letters from him, reported interactions with him
- 1:08:14and were not called out for it at that time.
- 1:08:16Then you look at the genealogists.
- 1:08:18Then you look at the togetherness of the historians.
- 1:08:20Then you even look at non Shia scholars.
- 1:08:23Basically saying that's a pretty good proof for the Imami of you.
- 1:08:26Whether they testify to it or not it's a different matter.
- 1:08:27But they're even conceding. How much more proof does this
- 1:08:31so-called Shia of Earl Muhammad need to arrive at this, let
- 1:08:36alone Tenezil and Malaika? To who?
- 1:08:40To who? And you have to, if you say it's
- 1:08:43not the Imam, right? If you say it's not the Imam,
- 1:08:47then to who is it going down to? Because clearly these are all
- 1:08:51connected. But fine, if not the Imam, bring
- 1:08:54your proof as to who? I just, I don't know anyone,
- 1:08:59anyone or anything that could even get close to fulfilling one
- 1:09:02or two of those criteria, let alone all of them have just been
- 1:09:06presented. Therefore, intellectually you
- 1:09:07would say this is the Imam. And and you know what's also
- 1:09:11interesting as well? And another argument I had from
- 1:09:16one of he was mentioning with regards to the idea of Rabba.
- 1:09:20And this was really interesting, the idea that all of the Imams
- 1:09:24are in Salaam from Rasulullah and to and through the Imams are
- 1:09:29in Salaam. All of them, I believe.
- 1:09:32I think. I think it was all of them.
- 1:09:34They mentioned the Rabba. That is the sure, yeah.
- 1:09:40That's actually all these slides here, Yeah, said Ahmed Ashkouri.
- 1:09:44We were debating his second name Ashkouri in his book in his
- 1:09:47Seminole work that mainstay translated each of I've written
- 1:09:50each of them down where at least one narration from each of them
- 1:09:53out soon except said Zahra, but there's definitely some say
- 1:09:55Zahra site to this exact point about.
- 1:09:57Specifically. About the concept alluding to a
- 1:10:02raber, an extension of life, Heira, Valala, etcetera.
- 1:10:05All that basic, all there. So what what he mentioned was
- 1:10:08that Sheffield Collini and also there's the reports in in Al
- 1:10:12Kafi. They don't just mention a raber,
- 1:10:15they mentioned 2 labours. Wow.
- 1:10:18Yeah. So first of all, Shechel
- 1:10:21Collini, he died in the year 329.
- 1:10:23Or some of them might actually say, like, what is the stronger
- 1:10:26opinion is he died in the year 328.
- 1:10:29That's what Rabiesil cobra, I'm sorry, Rabiesil cobra began in
- 1:10:34329. So Shechel Collini has put
- 1:10:38reports in a cafe mentioning that there's going to be a
- 1:10:42second Raber. So the fact that these chains,
- 1:10:47they go back to the Imamas that came before this scholar said,
- 1:10:52in fact, if there wasn't Evaiba, we'd have a big problem this
- 1:10:55year because. We're going to.
- 1:10:58We'd be like, how do we explain that it's a?
- 1:11:00Very interesting point. He he he said that the amount of
- 1:11:03narrations that exists, like if there was no labor, we would be
- 1:11:07struggling as a school. We would be like, what are we
- 1:11:09supposed to do about this? Right.
- 1:11:11So even that it prove it serves as a proof that was spoken about
- 1:11:17all of about all of the imams that came before that shows you
- 1:11:21beyond any doubt. Do you know what, it's just kind
- 1:11:23of like hit me just now is like especially when you look in in
- 1:11:26the psychology of these Olama and this Mohadi teen at that
- 1:11:29time, Shekhar Khalili and all of kind of the Mohali teen, at that
- 1:11:33point, they would have had to have such a level of Iman and
- 1:11:36yakin that there is going to be XY and Z coming.
- 1:11:40And we know this based on what we have.
- 1:11:42Read before before you died as in Shekhar before.
- 1:11:46He said he's speaking about a second of a bus which is in a in
- 1:11:50a period of time where the lay individual might still be
- 1:11:52expecting the Imam to return anytime.
- 1:11:54Exactly. Exactly.
- 1:11:55And he's putting it down in a coffee.
- 1:11:58Yeah. That this is the narration, that
- 1:12:00there's going to be a second of a bus.
- 1:12:01Crazy. I'm not even going to see it.
- 1:12:03Exactly. Doesn't know he's going to see
- 1:12:05exactly, but he's put it. And we're, we're, we're in in
- 1:12:08many ways in a similar position now.
- 1:12:10Yeah. Like we have all these
- 1:12:11abundance, like it's common sense.
- 1:12:13It's got to be there. There's all these arguments, the
- 1:12:15cumulative process you've been through, we know XYZ is going to
- 1:12:18happen, the horse is going to happen.
- 1:12:19All the the signs and all of these things we now have have
- 1:12:24such an abundance. It was like, well, it's going to
- 1:12:26happen. Like are we going to believe it
- 1:12:29or not or not? And that's, that's that that we
- 1:12:32arrive at, right. It's not that we're at a time
- 1:12:35where we as an English speaking Shia community, wherever we are
- 1:12:39in the world, have not received those narrations.
- 1:12:42Kitaba Labour Times 2 translated right.
- 1:12:45Kamala Dean translated, Al Kafi, translated.
- 1:12:48It's not that those narrations haven't reached us.
- 1:12:50It's not that scholars are not there to tell us what is right,
- 1:12:53what is wrong, what it's reached us.
- 1:12:56We have no choice now but to go. Am I backing it or am I not?
- 1:12:59And there was some very, I mean, I told you out for some honey
- 1:13:03meal like extended life. Amazing, amazing, amazing
- 1:13:06scholar in his. There's like an English abridged
- 1:13:10version of Ilahiyat his his theology book, right available
- 1:13:13on on Amazon in his discussion on the 12th Imam.
- 1:13:17And he's done this in a few occasions in the book.
- 1:13:19From what I've seen, he puts down some stats and I love
- 1:13:22stats. Something although 33% of stats
- 1:13:24are made-up. Appreciate it.
- 1:13:28I like that. I like that.
- 1:13:29But these ones are factual. That's such a solid press.
- 1:13:31You know what? What can I just say?
- 1:13:32That's the old sodic. That's that's the Sonic, I think
- 1:13:36like 20 years ago. Yeah, this is it.
- 1:13:38Terrible, terrible banter for a 15.
- 1:13:40Year old, right? So, Victoria Sodic, I'm sorry,
- 1:13:43I'm sorry. I'm.
- 1:13:46Sorry. Killer.
- 1:13:48I'm sorry. I'm.
- 1:13:48Sorry. So he puts down some stats about
- 1:13:51narrations of Imam and Mehdi recorded in Shia and Sunni
- 1:13:54sources and honestly these threw me.
- 1:13:57OK first one GLAAD tidings of the Imams appearance. 657
- 1:14:04narrations from the household of the prophets of Allah, 389 from
- 1:14:10the children of Emir and Mahmudin, 214 from the children.
- 1:14:13Say there's a hurrah. 192 That he's the 9th of the children of
- 1:14:17Mama Hussein. 148 It's from the children of Mama Sajad, which
- 1:14:21I'd never actually plot that that's a theme as well. 185 From
- 1:14:25the children of Mama Ascari. 146 that he will fill the earth with
- 1:14:30justice and equity. Kristen Wadler.
- 1:14:32But you're a big number. It's not.
- 1:14:34It's actually it was lower than I thought, 132 still high.
- 1:14:37I mean, would we said after three mature guys tell us about
- 1:14:40something, we're convinced 132 about a long occultation, 91
- 1:14:45long life of the imam, 318 the 12th Imam of the household, 136
- 1:14:51two more Islam encompassing the world. 27 And regarding the
- 1:14:55imam's birth, drum roll, 214 we said there's three guys come
- 1:15:00into this room telling us about someone that we know expecting
- 1:15:04to give birth and says they've given birth and we don't even
- 1:15:07know the guy. We trust it after three, this
- 1:15:09is. Atlajaf Sopani Mushroom Wicked
- 1:15:13and this is publicly available. This is this is in his book
- 1:15:16Introduction to Islamic theology.
- 1:15:18It's a blue book. It's available on Amazon,
- 1:15:20beautiful hardcover as well. Really recommend it.
- 1:15:23But just I, I just want that point to soak in.
- 1:15:25We said three people come in and say the birth of your friend,
- 1:15:30their child, their child has happened. 3 was enough to us say
- 1:15:33yes. We're saying Azur Suhani saying
- 1:15:35214. Is that 214 accounts, witnesses,
- 1:15:41narrations, narrations that reference it right.
- 1:15:43So they could be people citing similar things, separate,
- 1:15:46separate, separate incidents. And in the sense of like I.
- 1:15:49Don't know if they're separate chains, they could be the same
- 1:15:51chain reported in multiple. Times, but for sure there's
- 1:15:54going to be a multiple variety yeah 250 wow wow, wow, that's
- 1:15:58not a joke. So again, at what point does
- 1:16:01this Shia go? I think the Imam exists.
- 1:16:09I hope at this point they go for sure the Imam exists for sure.
- 1:16:13This all makes sense. I almost feel embarrassed for
- 1:16:16questioning it for any point in my life.
- 1:16:18And then they move to the next question of Leila's and Khadar
- 1:16:21is a few nights away. What am I doing now in order to
- 1:16:26prepare myself for that night and bring the Imam into the
- 1:16:30equation now? Because if they don't do that, I
- 1:16:32think they're just being willing, fully arrogant and
- 1:16:36ignorant in front of the fact of Tenezil and Malaik.
- 1:16:38Can I ask you kind of because look, there's Marshall Allah,
- 1:16:42you've firstly, thank you. I have to say money and also for
- 1:16:47you for, for, for elaborating it and kind of dissecting it for
- 1:16:50us. And you did it so eloquently.
- 1:16:51Yeah, love, bless you, bro. But kind of with all of this in
- 1:16:55context, I think we've been on a journey in this discussion thus
- 1:16:58far. So we've talked a lot about the
- 1:17:00Quranic, the weight of the Holy Quran.
- 1:17:03In the other debate, Aleimu Salaam Ali Al Qadar, we've
- 1:17:06talked about some of the verses within sort of colour as well as
- 1:17:09other verses. We've then gone on the journey
- 1:17:11to understand Imam and Mehdi in sort of colour.
- 1:17:14And then why there are Shiva hearts and there's doubts about
- 1:17:16his birth and his existence in the 1st place and why by proving
- 1:17:19those, those matters of fact, we'll then have now, which is,
- 1:17:24which is where I believe we're at.
- 1:17:26We'll be able to determine how to approach not just the Knights
- 1:17:30of Kudl coming up in the coming days, but also how to rewire our
- 1:17:34mindset after the Knights of Kudl, the morning after the
- 1:17:37Knights of Kudl, as you mentioned, right?
- 1:17:39So our mentality, our community mindset, our family mindset, our
- 1:17:43individual mindsets should be wired around a marmalade.
- 1:17:49It's an injustice to him. It's an abomination, the fact
- 1:17:53that we name our children Mehdi and we name our children
- 1:17:56Muhammad, and we call ourselves the Shia of al Mehdi, Adulah da
- 1:18:00al Afar. We recite da al Faraj at every
- 1:18:02event we do Adulah da al Afar, Shaiv after every salwat.
- 1:18:06And we consistently talk about being the ones who want to fill
- 1:18:09the world with justice, what the Karbala to be avenged and all of
- 1:18:14these themes that we talk about every single year we party on 15
- 1:18:18the Shaaban. And you know, all of these
- 1:18:20things are so critical on the superficial level of our
- 1:18:26community affairs. But internally, are we really
- 1:18:29processing it? And is it a critical part of my
- 1:18:32existence? Am I doing dar al Ahad and am I
- 1:18:34doing my, my ziyad nahiyan, all of these kind of things which
- 1:18:39consistently will reconnect me with the Holy Imam and allow me
- 1:18:42to understand it not just his role in my life, but what is my
- 1:18:46role in his mission? You know, we've talked about
- 1:18:50Shekhar Andamani Mellah. Bless him and reward him for
- 1:18:53everything he's done for each of us individually and of course
- 1:18:55for after Maghrib. And if anyone has not already
- 1:18:58seen which I'm, that is so good. And it's a relevant
- 1:19:01conversation, Muhammad, which you I'm sure you can explain
- 1:19:03much better than I can. He did a 2 hour discussion with
- 1:19:06you on the philosophies of the GABA on Jamaat Knights.
- 1:19:09Yeah. So we had a discussion basically
- 1:19:12where I was bringing all the questions that anybody would
- 1:19:17want to ask about the involvement of the Imam Alay
- 1:19:20Salaam during the Reba itself. Like what is what is the Imam
- 1:19:23actually like? What is he doing right now?
- 1:19:26And how is he relevant to us? Right.
- 1:19:28So this is where we spoke about kind of, you know, why was there
- 1:19:31Reba in the 1st place? Yeah, You know, because that's,
- 1:19:34you know, the first question anybody would ask.
- 1:19:36Well, what's the point? Yeah, exactly what's the point,
- 1:19:38right. The difference between the
- 1:19:40Reba's, is it a blessing or a punishment?
- 1:19:43Yeah. Is the Imam in in Reba?
- 1:19:45Does that mean that he's not doing anything?
- 1:19:48Like, does that mean he doesn't affect us?
- 1:19:51Like you know, if he is doing something, what are the
- 1:19:53mechanisms? But behind the does.
- 1:19:55Something right? All of these kind of questions,
- 1:19:57we went through a lot of them. We spoke about hadith as well
- 1:20:00with the importance of hadith. Which we always do, of course.
- 1:20:04And yeah, I think it was, it was like a really in depth
- 1:20:07discussion. Shakaman was obviously amazing.
- 1:20:10That was a solid episode. I think it's probably the most
- 1:20:13viewed. I loved it.
- 1:20:14I think it's probably one of my favorite, if I'd say like top
- 1:20:17three after Magdam shows out of the 203 hundred things we've
- 1:20:22handed. I was amazing.
- 1:20:22Mella rewarding, but he mentioned something to me when
- 1:20:25we went on autobion together. I had the privilege of being
- 1:20:27with him a few years ago and inshallah again soon if the
- 1:20:30opportunity comes, but he talked to me about Imam Hussein, Ali,
- 1:20:33Saddam and Arbaeen being all about Imam Ehdi.
- 1:20:38And how's the movement of the Imam and your presence is you're
- 1:20:42there as part of someone who's representing the Imam and
- 1:20:44therefore the Imam and your BAE acts for the Imam when you go
- 1:20:48for other BAE. Hey fully rewired my mindset
- 1:20:51about other baeeen, specifically other baeeen because it's it was
- 1:20:54so beautiful. You don't necessarily connect
- 1:20:55the 2 right? You never and this is what I'm
- 1:20:57saying, like I went into and I I mentioned him last week on our
- 1:21:00group chat with him and I said to him, I was like, like Imam
- 1:21:04Mehdi Shah Ramaban in my mind. You think, do I have to TA if
- 1:21:09you don't the Karim and all of these kind of things and that
- 1:21:11whole passage and like that's what you connect it to, right.
- 1:21:14And like you said, the must have on your head and all of these
- 1:21:17things. But it's so evident there for us
- 1:21:21to pick up and central. We haven't connected it.
- 1:21:24Once we connect it, everything changes.
- 1:21:26You're wearing a new pair of lenses on your face and you see
- 1:21:30everything in a different light. The whole religion changes.
- 1:21:33You know, you know, Sheikh Shamali, in this lecture for the
- 1:21:35introduction, Shah Ramadan pointed at something very
- 1:21:38similar that again, it's one of those comments that just throws
- 1:21:41you and you're like, whoa, I've not appreciated that, He said,
- 1:21:45again, paraphrasing, when you and I are given news of a loved
- 1:21:50one that has just died, that throws, this is a very close
- 1:21:54loved one. It throws you for the best part
- 1:21:57of a few weeks at least before you can start really rewiring
- 1:22:00yourself and a few months every now and then you'll start to
- 1:22:02think about it. Within a year you reach the year
- 1:22:05anniversary and you're still you're still struggling said
- 1:22:10you. And I can't handle all of the
- 1:22:13Amar coming down to us telling us this guy's going to die, this
- 1:22:18guy's going to die, This guy's going to get cancer.
- 1:22:19This guy, this guy, this guy, this will be born his hajile to
- 1:22:22be accepted. Imagine the strength, the
- 1:22:26spiritual strength of the Imam to receive tenezil and melanica.
- 1:22:32What ro hafiha be in the rub him min khulle Amar not battable
- 1:22:37Amar kuli Amar. And when the Quran says kuli
- 1:22:40Amar, it means kuli Amar that that is the strength of your
- 1:22:45Imam on that night. And that one again just blew.
- 1:22:49Me, I was like, I think. I think honestly like the
- 1:22:55scholars that are able to connect Imam Sahib Zaman in all
- 1:23:00of the aspects of, of, of our religion and even in our ebadat,
- 1:23:05for example, like you know, these, the scholars are very
- 1:23:08important in this, in this arena because there are a lot of
- 1:23:11things that we do whereby we might not be able to see the
- 1:23:15connection that it has with Sahaba Zama.
- 1:23:17For example, there was one of the, the scholars he was
- 1:23:19mentioning with regards to Shahramadhan and I actually had
- 1:23:22a recent post on, on this on Instagram and I found it very
- 1:23:26beautiful. He was, he was discussing, first
- 1:23:28of all, the understanding of taqwa, right in the Quran,
- 1:23:33right? The idea you're fasting so that
- 1:23:35you can gain taqwa. And then of course we see
- 1:23:39Insuratu Bacara Hudel, mutakin Aladdini.
- 1:23:42So the most important part of taqwa is obviously belief in
- 1:23:46the, the label. That's the characteristic of a
- 1:23:48mutaki and taqwa linguistically goes back to work higher which
- 1:23:53is prevent prevention, right protection.
- 1:23:56Yeah exactly. Prevention put casting something
- 1:23:58aside now he discussed from a while of say the Fatima Zahra
- 1:24:04and also including this concept of taqwa within it.
- 1:24:08She mentioned in her hot pot of of Fedek say that Zahra, she
- 1:24:12mentions, she says was the arm to have beaten class that first
- 1:24:18thing is for strengthening of your sincerity.
- 1:24:21Now the scholar explained, he said when you're talking about a
- 1:24:25class, his sincerity towards God, there's multiple layers on
- 1:24:29this on this journey of sincerity.
- 1:24:32He said there's a surface layer, there's a deeper layer and
- 1:24:35there's an essence to to that sincerity.
- 1:24:39The first layer, he said the surface layer of, you know,
- 1:24:43abstaining from food and drink, that is a level of sincerity
- 1:24:46that you have on the right head. The apparent that you can break
- 1:24:49your fast at any time, but you're but you're not even in
- 1:24:52secret, for example, you're not breaking your fast.
- 1:24:54That's a apparent level of sincerity towards Allah.
- 1:24:57Then he mentions the deeper level of sincerity whereby the
- 1:25:01fast is inclusive of your limbs and your eyes and your tongue
- 1:25:06and staying away from the alarm, right?
- 1:25:09Then he says the essence and this is what kind of blows your
- 1:25:13mind, right? He said that the essence of the
- 1:25:16fast is turning away from everything and preventing
- 1:25:21yourself from anything that is not connected to the Imam of
- 1:25:24your time. And that is the essence of the
- 1:25:28fast. Understanding the meaning of
- 1:25:31taqwa and sincerity towards the Imam of your time.
- 1:25:35And that is like that is when you, when you think about the
- 1:25:38man, you, when you talk about the Imam of the time, the idea
- 1:25:41that he is wedgeful law, he is where is the face of Allah that
- 1:25:50the Saints turn towards when we talk about preventing ourselves
- 1:25:55from anything other than our Imam, That is, that is our
- 1:26:00connection with God himself. And that is the idea of taqwa
- 1:26:05and that is the fast that is mentioned in the ayah.
- 1:26:08Changes fasting. Just for you straight away
- 1:26:11you're like OK now Shahramadhan for me.
- 1:26:13It's a different lens IS. Imam.
- 1:26:15Look, but then you know what, people will hear that and go
- 1:26:18these guys and after Mohrib, they've lost it.
- 1:26:20It goes back to that same point where we said, oh, this is this
- 1:26:23is not to heat. This is too far.
- 1:26:27And it's a tough one. Like at some point that
- 1:26:29individual who's thinking this right now has to go and
- 1:26:32reconcile and be like, either you're saying the entire hoser
- 1:26:35has lost it or you're not grasping the understanding as to
- 1:26:38what's being shared by them. If you do something like that,
- 1:26:42if you do think like that, please DM essential ILM on
- 1:26:46Instagram and. So Joe's never had a shout out,
- 1:26:49by the way. Is that his like?
- 1:26:50Debut for Do you want to talk about just before we wrap up
- 1:26:53because look firstly I just wanna thank you and you smashed
- 1:26:56it yeah WhatsApp community is amazing your your snippet.
- 1:26:59Instagram, I don't I've I've not like you guys, but you haven't
- 1:27:01done. That's all the algorithm.
- 1:27:02I'm done. With it, no, not finished for
- 1:27:04those who don't know. So just to kind of wrap up,
- 1:27:07firstly, I wanted to thank you for everything.
- 1:27:09I think both of us really enjoyed it and not just thank
- 1:27:11you both for yourself, but you have like been such a mammoth of
- 1:27:16a presence here. And I think saying saying no, I
- 1:27:21mean, I think both of you done incredible job.
- 1:27:23And I'm sure said Ali is at home and you know, he's cheerleading
- 1:27:26right now as I am because you guys have smashed at me.
- 1:27:29Laura Woods, you both. Always feel like I haven't been.
- 1:27:32Able to fill his seat. No, honestly, you've done
- 1:27:33incredibly. I've been here that in awe.
- 1:27:36But you know, it's not just that I think like the key principles
- 1:27:39you've both touched on the Quran, the Yahoo debate,
- 1:27:42ultimately Tokid, and then principles that we need to have
- 1:27:44ourselves, Eklas and kind of Takwa and our Saba and all of
- 1:27:49tying these all in together. And then of course, our
- 1:27:52observance of key things like understanding that these things
- 1:27:59are taught to us by the Olama and staying close to the Olama
- 1:28:03and what they've taught and what they teach.
- 1:28:06And that that is, it's always going to lead you into, into
- 1:28:09goodness, right? It's, it's, it's any, any, any
- 1:28:15people who generally tend to have an issue, a minority or
- 1:28:18whatever, they all have something in common.
- 1:28:21And that is an issue with the Olama.
- 1:28:22So it tends to be a key theme, right.
- 1:28:25So anyway, the last thing I want to say is essential ILM, do you
- 1:28:28want to tell us what it is how people can engage?
- 1:28:31Sure, sure. It's like the elevator pitch.
- 1:28:35Yeah. The problem it aimed to solve
- 1:28:38for was an increase in access to information and knowledge, good
- 1:28:43and bad knowledge, good and bad information gave to a rise in
- 1:28:47two main issues in the English speaking community.
- 1:28:50Shia Community 1 is a rise in atheism.
- 1:28:53I think we're all seeing it. It's happening.
- 1:28:55And I think that's true for every religion, to be honest,
- 1:28:58but also a rise in alternative thinking away from what the
- 1:29:01hoser is saying. And when I say that, I'm talking
- 1:29:03about the giant hoser. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:29:06And a lot of the doubts that fuel that have been answered by
- 1:29:12our ulema for the last 1200 years.
- 1:29:15So for example, Shuba had doubts about the Imam was not answered
- 1:29:18by Save Munir in 2000 and whatever ten, 2020, it was
- 1:29:21answered by Sheikhar Sadour in Kamala Dima Tamar like 1200
- 1:29:24years ago, like done and dusted, right.
- 1:29:26It's just that our ulema and the strength of our ulema have kept
- 1:29:29it going and going and going and going.
- 1:29:31So the idea was very simple. The knowledge that solves those
- 1:29:34doubts exists in the books of our olima.
- 1:29:37We have failed as a community to read.
- 1:29:40We've lost the culture of reading and we can go and sit
- 1:29:44here and say read, read, read, read, read, but the end of the
- 1:29:46day people aren't going to do it.
- 1:29:48So the idea was to try and bring life to what is being taught in
- 1:29:53those books in means that people actually engage with day-to-day.
- 1:29:57So we fought the fight on Instagram and I've admitted
- 1:30:00defeat to the algorithm. I couldn't be bothered with it,
- 1:30:03but I haven't for the last five years.
- 1:30:04We've been able to hold a mixture of sessions right the
- 1:30:06way from 32nd reels to infographics to three to four
- 1:30:11minute highlights of like specific points of books through
- 1:30:15to 15 minute podcasts, through to one hour sessions.
- 1:30:18And what has stuck the most in particular has been most
- 1:30:21recently what we've tried, which is 3 to 7 minute voice notes
- 1:30:26that are literally excerpts from the book directly the idea.
- 1:30:30And I don't share them on Instagram.
- 1:30:31They're shared on the WhatsApp community.
- 1:30:33And it's very simple. It's like 3 to 5 shared every
- 1:30:35week from different books, from different Alema.
- 1:30:38At the moment we're a bit of a breakfast Shahramadhan, but
- 1:30:40we're going through a book about Nabi Adam and his Saddam and
- 1:30:43clarifying what actually happened with regards to the
- 1:30:47fruit and the tree and Shaban. And did he disobey?
- 1:30:50Did he not disobey? And what does that mean for
- 1:30:52Bunny Adam as well? And again, it just, it's this
- 1:30:55whole reframing, this whole rewiring when you just spend
- 1:30:57time with your Adama and you're like, Oh my God, all those
- 1:31:00doubts I had about Nabi Ardem and how do I reconcile Iceman
- 1:31:03and stuff is solved. And I understand how I am Benny
- 1:31:06Ardem, how that event not necessarily affects me, but it
- 1:31:10implicates the way I live. And so that's what we're trying
- 1:31:13to. Do you're doing an incredible
- 1:31:15job. May Allah reward you, grant you
- 1:31:17more Baraka and Afiya and Charlotte as well.
- 1:31:23I'm just, I'm just mentioned two more things.
- 1:31:25That's OK. Just very, very small things.
- 1:31:27First one is, and this is again about this point of the Imam.
- 1:31:30If anyone is still sat on the fence and they're like, not
- 1:31:32sure, not sure. Said Manira mentioned this point
- 1:31:35and I'm going to try and extrapolate it a little bit.
- 1:31:38One of the proofs that the Olimi use about the existence of the
- 1:31:41Imam is look around in your society today.
- 1:31:45If you still see scholars guiding towards Hak, If you
- 1:31:52still see the majalis of Sheikh say the Shahadat taking place.
- 1:31:55If you still see tears being shed for him.
- 1:31:59If you still see the affairs of Ehl Beita Aimsan being revived.
- 1:32:03If you still see young children embracing and getting along with
- 1:32:06to show you. If you still see the Quran
- 1:32:08existing in your household today and being read in Shahramaban,
- 1:32:12you can have no doubt about the Imam because none of that would
- 1:32:16happen if he wasn't around because the earth would collapse
- 1:32:19in on its inhabitants. And for me, that was like, I
- 1:32:22remember in particular in one of the Muharram Majalis I was
- 1:32:25giving, I was looking around like at some points when you're
- 1:32:28speaking, you do just kind of look at.
- 1:32:30The. Crowd I didn't want to give
- 1:32:31context, but I think to hammer this point how I have to give
- 1:32:33contact was in Karachi. Karachi had never had to our
- 1:32:37understanding an English major list before.
- 1:32:38So remember the organiser said to me look probably no one's
- 1:32:41going to turn up but would you like to do it?
- 1:32:43Was it Yeah sure. So the first day it was held
- 1:32:46privately, first night as you'd expect from Haram full 200
- 1:32:50people. Next year they said come back,
- 1:32:53but this time they held it in a public centre.
- 1:32:55I said, look, we don't know how it's going to go because we're
- 1:32:57putting it at the same time as all of the big order of
- 1:32:59speakers. And in Karachi it's like, it's
- 1:33:02like Heathrow airport, like Majal is kicking off every 60
- 1:33:04seconds. I said honestly, respectfully, I
- 1:33:06don't care, right? If there's a few people there,
- 1:33:08we're good to go, right? It's as much for me as it is for
- 1:33:10anyone else. I remember, I think it was
- 1:33:12around the Knight of Abu Father, I'm looking around, there's 900
- 1:33:15people packed into this whole SAT outside speakers going
- 1:33:19outside for English majalis in Karachi.
- 1:33:23I'm seeing guys who I know a multi millionaire sat here next
- 1:33:26to a guy who's come on a bike who barely understands English.
- 1:33:31If that isn't the work of the imam in the background, I don't
- 1:33:35know what is. That unbelievable moment.
- 1:33:40It's got nothing to do with the speaker, quite evidently.
- 1:33:42It's got everything to do with the Imam and him being Yala
- 1:33:46Farhat Hossein. And when you again, when you see
- 1:33:50it that way, you start to see it differently.
- 1:33:52And that's when, and I'll just end on these two points.
- 1:33:54I'm very sorry, but these are two narrations because this is
- 1:33:56from the Holy Prophet and Imam Sajjal about those who are
- 1:34:00believing in the Imam in the time of labour.
- 1:34:03OK, The Holy Prophet reported to say at one point, sorry, he he
- 1:34:07says when he's got his companions around him or his
- 1:34:09brethren around him, he says, oh, Allah, allow me to meet my
- 1:34:12brethren. And so those around him are
- 1:34:14like, what do you mean we're not your brethren?
- 1:34:16Like what are we then, Right. It's kind of like when people
- 1:34:20came back from battle and he was like, well done on your Jihad al
- 1:34:23Jihad al Asgar. And they're like, you're having
- 1:34:25a laugh, like we've got bruises or whatever.
- 1:34:26He's like, welcome to Jihad al Aqaba.
- 1:34:28This is off the soul. So I sat around him and said, I
- 1:34:29can't wait to meet my brethren. What do you mean isn't that us?
- 1:34:32He says no, you are my companions.
- 1:34:35He says my brethren are a people at the end of times who believed
- 1:34:38me without seeing me. God has taught me their names.
- 1:34:45That in if itself, if you are someone who believes in the
- 1:34:49prophet without seeing him, and he says at last taught me your
- 1:34:53names. He said God has taught me their
- 1:34:56names and the names of their fathers before.
- 1:34:58He will extract them from the loins of their fathers and the
- 1:35:01wombs of their mothers. Each of them is the most
- 1:35:03protective of his faith and will be like 1 clasping a burning
- 1:35:08ember. They are the lanterns of the
- 1:35:09night and God will save them of every dark and murky sedition.
- 1:35:13And Imam Sejad very in a very kind of similar context of
- 1:35:16narration, he describes the following and saying surely the
- 1:35:19people of the era of Imam Mehdi of the occultation who believe
- 1:35:24in his divine leadership and who await his appearance are better
- 1:35:28than the people of any other era.
- 1:35:30That is because the last panel to Allah gave them the
- 1:35:33intellect, comprehension and knowledge that allowed them to
- 1:35:37see occultation at the level of presence.
- 1:35:40He made them at that era at the status of those who struggled at
- 1:35:45war alongside Rasool Allah. They and those are our real
- 1:35:49devotees. They are our true Shia and they
- 1:35:53are the callers unto God's religion in public and in
- 1:35:56privacy. If you want to be like one of
- 1:35:59those, jump the fence and. Say wow, wow.
- 1:36:10A lot, a lot to take away for me.
- 1:36:13Or the puzzle. I feel like I'm going to go home
- 1:36:16and just got all in. I have some.
- 1:36:19I think that's the answer. And so much, so much more
- 1:36:24reflection. And this is perfect.
- 1:36:27And I'm so grateful to Sadiq and Suman.
- 1:36:29Thank you guys for allowing this conversation to happen.
- 1:36:33And I hope, brothers and sisters, if you've made it this

- 1:37:04I was like, if I think back to like year one and the sort of
- 1:37:08conversation said Ali and I were having great, like wholesome,
- 1:37:12heartfelt. But I feel like I understand
- 1:37:15personally a lot more now than I have then.
- 1:37:18I hope that comes across. And I feel like it's it's
- 1:37:20learning from these amazing people, amazing guests, amazing
