Last chance to run for office in Ontario’s municipal elections—deadline is Friday at 2 p.m. All 444 municipalities vote October 26 for mayor, council, and school board seats. You must be 18+, a Canadian citizen, and live in the area you want to represent. Judges, MPs, senators, and current municipal staff (unless on leave) are ineligible. Prisoners can’t run. For towns over 4K voters, you need 25 local signatures; smaller areas don’t. Nomination fees: $200 for mayor/council head, $100 otherwise. One candidate? Automatically appointed. Zero candidates?
