Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's a podcast called twenty five whist and they are
- 0:09Speaker 1: wearing a whist so, yeah, it's too bad. But what
- 0:12Speaker 1: don't you expect.
- 0:13Speaker 2: It's a podcast called twenty five Whistles Wine.
- 0:19Speaker 1: We'll talk sports in a minute, low the whistle. I
- 0:22Speaker 1: want to start with wrestling. Oh, of course good and
- 0:25Speaker 1: this isn't like a wrestling breakdown. But I don't know
- 0:26Speaker 1: if you guys saw the video in the hotel of
- 0:28Speaker 1: CEM Punk slapping the phone out of the fans hands
- 0:30Speaker 1: saw that, Okay? So after before after? Okay, I believe
- 0:34Speaker 1: it was after the matches, after you Yeah, so I'll
- 0:38Speaker 1: describe it to folks, even if we're not a wrestling fan.
- 0:40Speaker 1: This is interesting. So I think there's st at the
- 0:42Speaker 1: MGM hotel, didn't matter, Vegas, big hotel. Gotta walk through
- 0:45Speaker 1: the lobby and CM Punk has a suitcase. He's rolling
- 0:49Speaker 1: back to the hotel. His wife A J Lee, also
- 0:52Speaker 1: a wrestler. They both had wrestled that night too, by
- 0:54Speaker 1: the way, and they're walking through. And what's weird is
- 0:57Speaker 1: these WWE wrestlers have no security, so all these people
- 1:02Speaker 1: know what hotel they're staying at, and they're all just
- 1:03Speaker 1: waiting for them in the lobby. It's weird they have
- 1:06Speaker 1: no security, right, Mike Weird. These are very famous, especially
- 1:10Speaker 1: in Vegas on WrestleMania weekend.
- 1:14Speaker 3: But is it because they're so jacked in, like they
- 1:16Speaker 3: don't need security. I'll take care of myself.
- 1:18Speaker 1: No, because even people jack need security. Because seven people
- 1:21Speaker 1: trying to get pictures of you, it's more than one
- 1:23Speaker 1: gigantic dude.
- 1:24Speaker 4: We saw Miles Garrett with security.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Security is not to beat people up, it's to
- 1:29Speaker 1: keep people away. And they swarmed all the time. You've
- 1:31Speaker 1: got to have somebody. Yeah. So he's going in, he's
- 1:35Speaker 1: got his wife with him, and they're good, going to
- 1:37Speaker 1: the elevator section of the hotel. And this one fan
- 1:42Speaker 1: I don't know. I hate to say this, but picture
- 1:45Speaker 1: a wrestling.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Fan, got it.
- 1:47Speaker 5: Now?
- 1:47Speaker 1: I know I'm a wrestling fan, but picture you know,
- 1:51Speaker 1: picture he's probably like upper forties, early fifties dude, and
- 1:57Speaker 1: he's got his phone up and he's wake close on
- 2:01Speaker 1: aj Lee the wrestler, and Bailey, who's another wrestler who
- 2:04Speaker 1: wrestled that night, comes in and seam punkins why we're
- 2:08Speaker 1: trying to get away? And Bailey comes in and gives
- 2:10Speaker 1: a Jilly a hug and they're they're like going into
- 2:12Speaker 1: the lobbies, but this fan keeps the phone right on
- 2:13Speaker 1: them as they're like hugging. Seampunkin's over and slaps the
- 2:18Speaker 1: phone out of the fan's hand. It's like, dude, what
- 2:21Speaker 1: are you doing? So everybody was wrong, and I like
- 2:24Speaker 1: to say why I think everybody's wrong multiple levels. This
- 2:27Speaker 1: is just a failure in all ways. WWE has got
- 2:32Speaker 1: to get them security going in and out of these hotels,
- 2:35Speaker 1: or there's got to be some sort of entrance for
- 2:37Speaker 1: famous people to come in. There really isn't just period.
- 2:40Speaker 1: We would see fans people going on all the time
- 2:41Speaker 1: the front of these hotels. Failure one is WWE has
- 2:45Speaker 1: to get security for these people. They're massive stars. And
- 2:48Speaker 1: this happened like five six seven times over the weekend
- 2:50Speaker 1: where different wrestlers were like, you guys, you got to
- 2:52Speaker 1: stop doing this to us. We go somewhere and you
- 2:55Speaker 1: guys like grab us. And so that's one. Number two
- 3:00Speaker 1: is you literally can't slap a phone out of somebody's hands.
- 3:04Speaker 1: It doesn't matter unless they're pushing you, touching you, unless
- 3:07Speaker 1: their phone's hitting you. You cannot slap a phone out
- 3:11Speaker 1: of someone's so hard, I would do it. You're the
- 3:16Speaker 1: famous person. You've got to be bigger than that. Yes,
- 3:19Speaker 1: you can't do that. Number three, so I'll be in
- 3:22Speaker 1: a freaking loser dude with the phone recording. Yeah, this
- 3:26Speaker 1: personal space, and I get it, they're in a public place.
- 3:29Speaker 1: But also there's no need to take your phone to
- 3:30Speaker 1: put that close. And obviously they don't want you recording them.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Right then you're also not taking a picture of you
- 3:35Speaker 1: with them. There there are social constructs that people have
- 3:39Speaker 1: with other people, even if they don't know them. It
- 3:42Speaker 1: was too much. You overstepped a boundary.
- 3:45Speaker 4: I thought you said it when you first started talking
- 3:47Speaker 4: about it. I thought it was like a kid.
- 3:48Speaker 1: No, it's an adult man. That's a lot of for forties,
- 3:50Speaker 1: lower fifties, bald dude get a hat over the bald head. Well,
- 3:54Speaker 1: he's just what I was a wrestling imagine an adult
- 3:56Speaker 1: wrestling fan. Don't you feel like everybody was? Everybody was wrong? Though,
- 4:02Speaker 1: ww gotta get security for people seem punk. You can't
- 4:05Speaker 1: slap the phone out of someone's hand, although that would
- 4:07Speaker 1: have been hard to do, but you just can't do
- 4:08Speaker 1: it because you're gonna end up owing money or you're
- 4:10Speaker 1: gonna end up having to compensate the person. And dude,
- 4:14Speaker 1: mostly dude, stop being a freaking loser. These are human beings.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I get they're famous to you, and I get it's
- 4:19Speaker 1: not illegal, but there are certain like social rules you
- 4:23Speaker 1: need to follow. Everybody lost here. And they as of
- 4:26Speaker 1: right now, they said he's not suing. He just demands
- 4:29Speaker 1: an apology from Sampunk.
- 4:31Speaker 3: Oh that's easy.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Sorry, man, he's not gonna apologize. Oh he's not. I
- 4:34Speaker 1: don't think so. Unless he has he apologized.
- 4:37Speaker 3: I would just to avoid any kind of issue.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Just sorry, and he might post something like I should
- 4:44Speaker 1: be a bigger person. I don't know. It's bad news
- 4:48Speaker 1: all the way around. When you see the video, you'll
- 4:50Speaker 1: feel bad for Sampunk and for aj Lee, but then
- 4:53Speaker 1: you'll also go, man, just get in the elevator. People
- 4:59Speaker 1: are losers. Can't stop everybody for being a loser. You
- 5:03Speaker 1: are famous. It sucks, but you can't do that.
- 5:07Speaker 4: This is like in person clickbaiting. To me, what putting
- 5:10Speaker 4: the phone to The guy knows what he's doing and
- 5:11Speaker 4: he wants to maybe go viral or maybe get the attention.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I think he was a super fan. Yeah, idiot, that
- 5:17Speaker 1: big of a fan, do you think.
- 5:18Speaker 4: Yeah, he was so close, right up in her face,
- 5:20Speaker 4: and she even like pushed it away herself.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why I see him Punk reacted. Yeah, she
- 5:23Speaker 1: pushed first, as in like she didn't push him, but
- 5:26Speaker 1: she put her her hand out like like get the
- 5:28Speaker 1: phone back.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I feel like, if you're that close, if the phone
- 5:31Speaker 3: is that close to you where you don't have to
- 5:33Speaker 3: go out of the way to knock it out. And
- 5:35Speaker 3: I understand, don't knock it out, that's bad, Like that's
- 5:38Speaker 3: that's not the answer. But if it's that close, I
- 5:41Speaker 3: feel like you have the freedom to just like you're
- 5:43Speaker 3: in my space.
- 5:44Speaker 1: Can I counterpoint?
- 5:45Speaker 3: Dad? Go ahead?
- 5:46Speaker 1: As kids, no one was breaking the rules and they
- 5:49Speaker 1: were doing i'm not touching you. I'm not touching you.
- 5:52Speaker 1: That is, I'm not touching you. That's right. Yeah, you know,
- 5:57Speaker 1: no rules being broken because you know what you weren't touching.
- 6:00Speaker 3: That's so hard man.
- 6:01Speaker 4: Man, this guy looks scared too when when Punk's.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Yeah, that video is crazy, and so I don't think
- 6:09Speaker 1: you had to be a wrestling fan to just understand
- 6:12Speaker 1: and even appreciate what Seampunk did. He was kind of
- 6:14Speaker 1: protecting his wife. Yeah, but you just can't do that
- 6:18Speaker 1: because that losery dude was not going to harm anybody.
- 6:23Speaker 1: He was just being creepy and weird, And there are
- 6:25Speaker 1: no rules against being creepy and weird in a public place.
- 6:27Speaker 1: As long as your pants are.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Up, that's the only rule I did. I don't know
- 6:33Speaker 3: if it's that video that kind of got me in
- 6:34Speaker 3: that algorithm, But after shortly after that, the video an
- 6:37Speaker 3: older video of Quentin Tarantino coming out of a restaurant,
- 6:40Speaker 3: you know, in same situation where he's like, what are
- 6:42Speaker 3: you doing? What are you doing with the phone? What
- 6:43Speaker 3: are you doing? And the guy won't answer him, like
- 6:45Speaker 3: answer me, I'm asking you what are you doing with
- 6:47Speaker 3: the phone? And he finally just knocks it out of
- 6:49Speaker 3: his hand, and that's how the video ends.
- 6:51Speaker 1: That feels worse to one that does feel worse.
- 6:53Speaker 4: Did you see that Derek Henry one going around now?
- 6:55Speaker 1: The poster?
- 6:55Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 6:56Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 6:56Speaker 1: Is it new?
- 6:57Speaker 4: Yeah as of yesterday?
- 6:59Speaker 1: Whatever it is, I haven't see. I don't think that
- 7:01Speaker 1: one was bad.
- 7:01Speaker 4: No, it's not. That guy is trying to be a
- 7:03Speaker 4: clickbaity guy, right so to it. So he was at
- 7:06Speaker 4: an autographed signing Dereck Henry was, and they had a
- 7:08Speaker 4: bunch of fans come there. Somebody walks up with a
- 7:10Speaker 4: poster of Cooper de Jean tackling Derrick Henry.
- 7:14Speaker 3: And Cooper had already signed it.
- 7:16Speaker 4: And Cooper signed it. The highlight is Cooper tackling Derrick
- 7:19Speaker 4: Henry for sure. And the guy walked with Derrick Henry
- 7:21Speaker 4: signing and hands it to him for him to sign.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Dereck Henry just takes it and throws it off the table.
- 7:26Speaker 1: He didn't mean to throw off the table.
- 7:27Speaker 5: He did pick it up.
- 7:28Speaker 3: He literally was just like I'm not signing that and
- 7:30Speaker 3: kind of push it off. But it fell off the
- 7:31Speaker 3: table and the guy was like whoa, whoa he throwing
- 7:34Speaker 3: the picture. But he's like no, even Derek Henry even
- 7:36Speaker 3: went to go pick it back up and give it back.
- 7:38Speaker 1: So what, I haven't seen it. I have an opinion,
- 7:40Speaker 1: but what's consensus from people who saw it? Who did right,
- 7:43Speaker 1: who did wrong?
- 7:44Speaker 4: That Derrick Henry was in the right? Like what do
- 7:46Speaker 4: you why are you going to Derick Henry's signing day
- 7:48Speaker 4: and having him sign a poster of him getting like
- 7:50Speaker 4: the highlight is clearly Cooper Cooper, I think is the
- 7:53Speaker 4: only one in color and everything else is in black
- 7:55Speaker 4: and white.
- 7:56Speaker 3: But it's interesting though, because you do have these two
- 7:59Speaker 3: players in one picture.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Now, counterpoint, go ahead, I've got to sign picture of
- 8:05Speaker 1: Nolan Ryan beating up Robin Matura and Robin mature also
- 8:07Speaker 1: signed it. No way, see that that would be comfort
- 8:10Speaker 1: the headlock. Where wait, Nolan Ryan's got him after him
- 8:13Speaker 1: with the pitch and he's pounding him, and Robin Maturea
- 8:15Speaker 1: signed it as well.
- 8:16Speaker 4: Dang, he got whooked.
- 8:17Speaker 3: He did get well get wood, Yeah.
- 8:18Speaker 1: For sure by like a forty five.
- 8:20Speaker 5: Year old Robin.
- 8:20Speaker 3: All right, Nolan R.
- 8:23Speaker 1: But again, you kind of probably should check with somebody
- 8:25Speaker 1: before you put that up in front of somebody. Maybe.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Do you think the guy knew he was an Eagles
- 8:30Speaker 1: fan too? The guy was Do you think he knew
- 8:32Speaker 1: was gonna kind of be a semi trolled Derrick Henry
- 8:34Speaker 1: for sure?
- 8:34Speaker 4: Yeah, And he's kind of got a little smirk and
- 8:36Speaker 4: he's like.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Got it and he didn't mean to push it to
- 8:38Speaker 1: the ground and then.
- 8:39Speaker 3: No, it really didn't. He just meant to push it
- 8:41Speaker 3: to him and it fell off the table.
- 8:42Speaker 1: And he picked it.
- 8:43Speaker 4: Derek Legit picked it and then didn't look at the
- 8:45Speaker 4: guy just put it back on here and just said
- 8:46Speaker 4: all right, who's next.
- 8:47Speaker 3: And even the person sitting next to Derek Henry, which
- 8:49Speaker 3: I don't know is handler maybe is like no, no, no,
- 8:51Speaker 3: he's not signing that. He's not signing that.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Usually there are rules for those type things, meaning you're
- 8:55Speaker 1: gonna pay twenty eighty three hundred bucks depending on what
- 8:58Speaker 1: it is, and it tells you a ball hat how
- 9:01Speaker 1: much for this? Like how did that picture even get through?
- 9:04Speaker 3: Not a picture where he's getting tackled.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Yeah, and like Cooper is like kind of driving him
- 9:08Speaker 4: into the ground, which rarely obviously happened.
- 9:10Speaker 3: It is kind of a cool picture.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Well, the sandpunk thing was interesting. Everybody lost there. What
- 9:16Speaker 1: I hope happens is WW get some some security.
- 9:19Speaker 3: That's crazy that they don't have security. But I mean
- 9:23Speaker 3: to Kevin's point when he's talking about Miles Garrett, when
- 9:26Speaker 3: we saw him with Super Bowl, Miles Garrett was ten
- 9:28Speaker 3: times bigger than his security.
- 9:29Speaker 4: People from across the street.
- 9:31Speaker 1: You can see not many people are going to be
- 9:33Speaker 1: bigger than Miles Garrett.
- 9:34Speaker 3: No, no, he's huge.
- 9:35Speaker 1: So yeah, there's that. I got a couple of things there.
- 9:38Speaker 1: I wanted to mention. I watched two different Netflix documentaries
- 9:45Speaker 1: sports Wise. Have you guys watched The Joe Blazers yet?
- 9:48Speaker 5: Yep?
- 9:48Speaker 4: Pretty good last weekend. I yeah it is. I'm still
- 9:51Speaker 4: a little too young to remember that, but it was interesting.
- 9:55Speaker 4: The GM is obviously the most interesting guy because it's
- 9:58Speaker 4: like just all the people that he sign and whatnot.
- 10:00Speaker 4: It's like, dang, dude, you're not learning, are you.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Yeah, So the Trailblazers, all those guys got in trouble.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I did not know that Stotameyer was from Portland. Yes,
- 10:08Speaker 1: I went back up to play in Portland, and then
- 10:11Speaker 1: he kind of treated him like garbage to even though
- 10:13Speaker 1: he was like the guy from home. So what what's
- 10:15Speaker 1: the story did the Trailblazers. They got an owner, owner, general, manager, general,
- 10:19Speaker 1: We're just gonna win. So all the players they got
- 10:22Speaker 1: together is they were very problematic.
- 10:24Speaker 3: I got it. And but they were good together.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Yeah they were good. Yeah, they were good. They never
- 10:28Speaker 1: won the championship, but they got to the finals.
- 10:30Speaker 4: Well, the problem is they were going against the Lakers
- 10:32Speaker 4: with Kobe and Shack.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and they're all just trouble because of Rashida Wallace. Yeah,
- 10:36Speaker 1: David Stottamayer.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Yeah, and then Scotty Pippen came over.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Pippen came over late and no like but but not
- 10:42Speaker 1: the first year, but he did come over.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Yeah, and then uh Bonzie Wells.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I know I'd mentioned that I was watching that,
- 10:47Speaker 1: but I finished. I finished. I liked it.
- 10:49Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought it was enjoyable.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Three and a half out of five cities of Portland.
- 10:53Speaker 1: I'm glad I watched it. At the beginning, it's like Portland,
- 10:58Speaker 1: city of counterculture and white people, and then it's like
- 11:01Speaker 1: Rashida Wallace like basketball, like cool black guys, and then
- 11:06Speaker 1: like it didn't really mix.
- 11:07Speaker 4: Rashida is funny. He is still the same old or
- 11:10Speaker 4: same guy when they're interviewing and he's like, I'm not
- 11:12Speaker 4: apologizing for it. I didn't do anything.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Does he still have the record for most text in
- 11:16Speaker 1: a season? He has to, because that was one of it.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Was it like thirty eight or something in this season.
- 11:21Speaker 1: There was one point they showed the referee just teaed
- 11:23Speaker 1: him up for looking at him.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Funny.
- 11:25Speaker 1: He didn't even do anything. He's looked at him, teat
- 11:29Speaker 1: him up.
- 11:30Speaker 3: That's funny.
- 11:32Speaker 4: Yeah, there's forty one.
- 11:34Speaker 1: If there's nothing else on and you're not gonna jump
- 11:38Speaker 1: into a series and you want some kind of sports
- 11:40Speaker 1: because he's the good thing is he? Documentaries aren't two hours?
- 11:42Speaker 3: Yeah, what are we looking at here?
- 11:44Speaker 5: One?
- 11:44Speaker 1: Just one ninety minutes? Max?
- 11:46Speaker 3: Okay? Cool?
- 11:47Speaker 1: Was this untold? Yes, I'm the untold because I watched
- 11:50Speaker 1: that other untold last week?
- 11:51Speaker 4: Yeah the chess one.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that one, the chess when we talked about
- 11:55Speaker 1: that one that was really good. Yeah, I watched that one.
- 11:57Speaker 4: That's definitely better.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Have you watched Montreal Expos The death of the Montreal Expos.
- 12:01Speaker 3: No, that's another one, definitely before your time because.
- 12:05Speaker 4: They left in ninety eight or ninety nine or two thousand.
- 12:08Speaker 4: I do remember them, I mean I was I was
- 12:10Speaker 4: a lie when they were still here.
- 12:11Speaker 3: It was just that team that you just forgot about.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Oh they were Canadian. They were in the NLAs with
- 12:17Speaker 1: the Cubs, so we were always battling them. So I
- 12:21Speaker 1: had a lot of memories of the Expos. But it
- 12:24Speaker 1: was how you know, there were two teams of Canada,
- 12:27Speaker 1: the Expos and the Blue Jays. Montreal is definitely up higher.
- 12:30Speaker 1: It's definitely more Canadian. There were so many French speaking
- 12:32Speaker 1: people in the documentary, they overdubbed a lot of them
- 12:34Speaker 1: speaking French and how important that team was to that
- 12:38Speaker 1: town and how they're running out of money because they
- 12:41Speaker 1: didn't have money like American, like a single person with
- 12:45Speaker 1: all this money. And the team ended up going to
- 12:49Speaker 1: be in Do you know what team they ended up being?
- 12:51Speaker 3: The Expos or the Tampa Bay Give me a hint,
- 12:56Speaker 3: the Nationals. Oh, the Washington Nationals. There you go, Thanks
- 12:58Speaker 3: for the hint.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Yeah, if my hand was a mascot. Yet he gets
- 13:01Speaker 1: the city kind of boring unless like you're really into
- 13:06Speaker 1: baseball from the eighties and nine, because it's business very
- 13:09Speaker 1: much so, and it's about who owned it this. So
- 13:12Speaker 1: this American guy goes up and is like, oh, give
- 13:14Speaker 1: seventy five million bucks up be part owner. And then
- 13:16Speaker 1: it looks like slowly he just kind of took over
- 13:17Speaker 1: because they needed more more money. So they think he
- 13:19Speaker 1: set it up for them to go and move a
- 13:22Speaker 1: team to but he ended up leaving him and his
- 13:25Speaker 1: step son ended up going to run and buying the
- 13:28Speaker 1: Marlins when that team launched, and then they later all
- 13:32Speaker 1: the owners owned the Expos and then they moved that
- 13:35Speaker 1: team to DC. But we've had the step son on
- 13:41Speaker 1: our show. Yeah, because he's a baseball guy. He was
- 13:44Speaker 1: the We've had him on as a because he then
- 13:46Speaker 1: he was a GM of the Marlins as well. Yeah,
- 13:51Speaker 1: look up, look up general manager of Marlins and expos
- 13:58Speaker 1: xbos have a really cool logo.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Yeah, what what was? It was like a L something
- 14:02Speaker 3: LB or like letters.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Montreal.
- 14:07Speaker 3: I never could understand what it was. But because they
- 14:09Speaker 3: were like letters.
- 14:10Speaker 1: I think it was one. I think it's one M
- 14:12Speaker 1: as three colors.
- 14:13Speaker 5: Man.
- 14:13Speaker 3: I never even realized that.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I didn't look at it again.
- 14:15Speaker 3: I did see them though one time play the Astros
- 14:18Speaker 3: and his dad took us.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Imagine, though you have to go up to Montreal, it's
- 14:21Speaker 1: just a long.
- 14:21Speaker 5: Trip, you know.
- 14:22Speaker 3: We saw him in Houston.
- 14:22Speaker 1: I know what I'm saying. If you're traveling easily the
- 14:28Speaker 1: furthest up North, what do you see.
- 14:30Speaker 4: Skip Schumacher, Don Maddinglely, Dan Jennings, Mike Redmond, Azzie Gian
- 14:35Speaker 4: We don't have Ozzy don'd.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll find it.
- 14:37Speaker 3: Those were he was on.
- 14:39Speaker 1: He was sitting in his room and it has like
- 14:40Speaker 1: with his microphone out of all the baseballs behind him,
- 14:44Speaker 1: and he was like the president of the Marlins. Hold on,
- 14:47Speaker 1: I can ask chet chib Let's see as as chat
- 14:53Speaker 1: he did whistles. Hey, I got a question for you.
- 14:56Speaker 1: So I was watching on Netflix the show the documentary
- 14:59Speaker 1: about the Montreal Expos, The Death of the Montreal Expos,
- 15:02Speaker 1: and it talks about Lauria who is the owner, and
- 15:06Speaker 1: he brings in a step son who's running the team,
- 15:08Speaker 1: and they end up going down to the Marlins. Can
- 15:10Speaker 1: you give me that step son's name? The steps On
- 15:14Speaker 1: you're thinking of is David Samson. He played a prominent
- 15:17Speaker 1: role in the ownership and management of the Expos and
- 15:20Speaker 1: later became presidents of Florida now Miami Marlins after the
- 15:24Speaker 1: team moved. Hands man, you know what he's been on.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember this guy.
- 15:28Speaker 3: I hate ont gpt or Ai. But that's amazing. You
- 15:34Speaker 3: just talked to your phone like that, and and she
- 15:37Speaker 3: didn't even skip a beat. She told you who it was.
- 15:40Speaker 1: That was a dude.
- 15:41Speaker 3: That's a girl.
- 15:42Speaker 1: We have this debate a lot. I think it's a
- 15:44Speaker 1: girl too. She said nothing. She says her voice is
- 15:48Speaker 1: more feminine. But she won't commit.
- 15:50Speaker 3: She will not commit and tell you but you're not.
- 15:51Speaker 4: The only person that says that I've heard you guys
- 15:53Speaker 4: talk about a little bit on the show. I've always heard.
- 15:56Speaker 3: A dude interesting. Yeah, I hear a woman, but you
- 16:00Speaker 3: know I hear.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Wrong, A strong woman with short hair.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Yes, yes, maybe a few tattoos.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Yeah, possibly likes other women. That's what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 16:14Speaker 1: so I watched that. I give that if you're a
- 16:17Speaker 1: hardcore baseball fan, I'll give it three or five. But
- 16:19Speaker 1: for you guys, I wouldn't encourage you to watch it.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, okay, I probably. I saw the thumbnail, didn't
- 16:24Speaker 3: even think about clicking on it. The one I do
- 16:26Speaker 3: want to watch is Rory Masters. I don't know what
- 16:30Speaker 3: I really don't even know what it's about. I know
- 16:32Speaker 3: it's the story of him kind of climbing to the Masters,
- 16:34Speaker 3: but it was released right after he won this year.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Yeah, so it must have been about last year.
- 16:40Speaker 3: So I guess it's all about last year. But it
- 16:41Speaker 3: took me more year to release them. Okay, I mean.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I don't think they finished. It's I mean, even whenever
- 16:49Speaker 1: the NFL does hard knocks, it takes a few days.
- 16:51Speaker 3: They spit that one out fast, though.
- 16:53Speaker 1: I think they're throwing it up that day. Whenever we
- 16:55Speaker 1: load a Bobby cast up. It takes us twenty four hours.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Really for Netflix?
- 16:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that they basically have to do a Bobby
- 17:01Speaker 1: cast about that story and load it right up. But
- 17:04Speaker 1: what's cool.
- 17:05Speaker 3: I did start watching it, like, I watched like the
- 17:06Speaker 3: first ten minutes of it. But it's cool. What seeing Rory?
- 17:10Speaker 3: You know, when he first started and he'd looked like
- 17:11Speaker 3: he looked like a child. And I remember those days.
- 17:14Speaker 3: I remember him playing, you know, like the the British Open,
- 17:16Speaker 3: and he looked like such a kid because he was
- 17:18Speaker 3: like what seventeen years old or whatever.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't remember that.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Man. That was crazy.
- 17:22Speaker 1: Yeah, how are you betting on golf? Then?
- 17:24Speaker 5: Oh?
- 17:24Speaker 3: I wasn't. Nah, That's when I would just watch the Majors.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I got a bunch of money my draftings account from
- 17:29Speaker 1: winning Rory the Masters.
- 17:32Speaker 3: I remember that.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it's but I there's nothing to bet on right now.
- 17:38Speaker 1: I saw Wemby's out concussion. Now he's out so bad.
- 17:42Speaker 1: That sucks for us, first because is it normal concussion
- 17:45Speaker 1: protocol around eight days if he goes in, but now
- 17:47Speaker 1: there is it's it's not good.
- 17:50Speaker 3: That is not good. And they and they had they
- 17:52Speaker 3: were winning the game until the very end then they lost.
- 17:54Speaker 1: But and I think they're the only team that could
- 17:57Speaker 1: beat the Thunder.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Yes, I mean, dude, Wimby is and I love the Spurs.
- 18:02Speaker 3: I'm a Spurs fan, and the team is good. There
- 18:04Speaker 3: are some good players in that team. Castle is awesome,
- 18:08Speaker 3: Champagne or whatever, They're awesome. But Wemby carries.
- 18:11Speaker 1: That team, like when he's the best player in the NBA.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Yeah, he carries that team.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Okay, Wemby is top three player in the NBA, but
- 18:18Speaker 1: will be the best player in the NBA for a
- 18:20Speaker 1: long time to come.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I can't says the best player in the NBA because
- 18:24Speaker 1: you know who is Lebron? No, No, all the way
- 18:28Speaker 1: he's playing good is awesome, but he's not the best way.
- 18:30Speaker 1: I say Lebron's top probably top twenty five right now. Yeah,
- 18:33Speaker 1: but he's a number three in the Lakers right now. Luca,
- 18:36Speaker 1: but Lucas top three.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Oh you're waiting for me an answer.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's another I know.
- 18:44Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah, it's between two.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I put it to Okay, I was gonna
- 18:51Speaker 1: say Yokic jok one, I put one. I agree here
- 18:56Speaker 1: is I'm not a casual but I'm not gonna act
- 18:57Speaker 1: like I'm freaking Bill says, Okay, but I would go,
- 19:02Speaker 1: in my mind, you'll get your one as G two
- 19:11Speaker 1: Wimby it three.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I would say, because three.
- 19:15Speaker 1: And four could be three and three three B. But
- 19:18Speaker 1: at Luca and Luke and Wimby. Yeah, look at look
- 19:21Speaker 1: at those four people. And then you know who.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Five is in my mind, Jason Tatum six.
- 19:27Speaker 1: I probably put Tatum in like six or seven. Yeah,
- 19:31Speaker 1: before I was gonna make a point here, you know
- 19:32Speaker 1: five in my mind. You're honest, Yeah, that's five all
- 19:34Speaker 1: none of their American.
- 19:36Speaker 3: I know, mhm, I know. Hey, how's by the way,
- 19:39Speaker 3: how's your how's your basketball team?
- 19:40Speaker 1: Though?
- 19:41Speaker 3: Did you buy the basketball team?
- 19:43Speaker 1: Sold sold it back?
- 19:45Speaker 5: You did?
- 19:46Speaker 1: Quickly? They were moving again. They're moving because those European
- 19:49Speaker 1: basketball teams, the Italian ones. So we bought a part,
- 19:52Speaker 1: well about a part of it. We didn't on the sounds,
- 19:55Speaker 1: and then they were moving again and they were like, hey,
- 19:57Speaker 1: you can give us some more money to move or
- 19:59Speaker 1: we can actually sell your part make a little bit.
- 20:00Speaker 1: We made a little bit of money off of it.
- 20:01Speaker 1: There we go very brief nice, but we don't didn't
- 20:03Speaker 1: tell you a basketball team for like eight months.
- 20:05Speaker 3: That's on your resume, former owner, I.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Still want to pick. I want to see you resume.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Your resume has got to be crazy.
- 20:11Speaker 4: Like how do you condense his resume to? What a
- 20:13Speaker 4: page and a half is?
- 20:15Speaker 1: You know what you should single page?
- 20:16Speaker 4: Single page?
- 20:17Speaker 1: Ideally, that wouldn't make my resume though I know that's
- 20:20Speaker 1: what I'm saying.
- 20:21Speaker 3: I know what you should ask AI to make your resume,
- 20:24Speaker 3: like if you're applying for a job, a real resume
- 20:27Speaker 3: where it says your name and your address and everything.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Because I would let yeah, that would be the top.
- 20:36Speaker 1: I've had such a Forrest Gump like career just in general,
- 20:39Speaker 1: meaning I've done a little bit of everything until I've
- 20:42Speaker 1: like felt fulfilled by it and gone, okay. It's like
- 20:45Speaker 1: when he runs until he stops running and turns around,
- 20:47Speaker 1: I'm tired. It's like me doing a stand up did
- 20:48Speaker 1: it for three or four years? Did a special? I
- 20:51Speaker 1: was like, I'm good, Yeah, like I have the skill
- 20:55Speaker 1: set now and it's I'll be very very rusty. But
- 20:57Speaker 1: if I'm ever like just thrown on a stage and
- 20:59Speaker 1: it's like, hey, can you do ten minutes? I have
- 21:01Speaker 1: the confidence that I can go do ten minutes, fifteen minutes.
- 21:03Speaker 1: If you give me enough time, I can do an hour.
- 21:05Speaker 1: But I'm but like that's one. I mean Eddie and
- 21:08Speaker 1: I didn't Regie Giddots. We did that for years.
- 21:10Speaker 3: We did for a long time.
- 21:11Speaker 1: And now we can go back into the bag occasionally
- 21:14Speaker 1: and like we do the Cruise basically the time we
- 21:16Speaker 1: played or the million Dollar Show, which we haven't we
- 21:17Speaker 1: didn't do this year because we having a baby mm hmm.
- 21:20Speaker 1: But like we did that hardcore, we were playing massive
- 21:22Speaker 1: festivals as like the third or fourth big spot.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Now I just played stage coach.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Yeah, we played stage coach.
- 21:27Speaker 1: We played faster horses. We played at night sometimes in
- 21:31Speaker 1: these massive festivals like Kevin.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I think one year we did sixty some dates, really
- 21:37Speaker 3: like a year.
- 21:38Speaker 4: You guys are like legit story.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Well, we would sell so many tickets that the problem
- 21:42Speaker 1: was we weren't as good as the tickets we were
- 21:44Speaker 1: selling to, like people who didn't know who we were.
- 21:46Speaker 1: If you came to our show and you knew us,
- 21:47Speaker 1: you had a great time. We would do theaters and
- 21:49Speaker 1: outdoor venues and fairs and people would come. But when
- 21:52Speaker 1: we played a festival. We'd be put us like fourth
- 21:56Speaker 1: on the lineup of like twelve, so it'd be getting
- 21:58Speaker 1: close to dark, and everybody's there at that went waiting
- 22:00Speaker 1: for the headliner, and we'd go on. It's why it
- 22:02Speaker 1: made us wear really dope outfits, so people knew we
- 22:04Speaker 1: didn't take ourselves seriously. But we sold so many tickets
- 22:07Speaker 1: that promoters would just put us in these spots based
- 22:09Speaker 1: on ticket sales, like Old Dominion would play before for us. Yeah,
- 22:13Speaker 1: I promise it was, and we felt terrible. We'd apologized,
- 22:16Speaker 1: we're so sorry, we know seriously, we're not joking, and
- 22:21Speaker 1: so we would go out and people would just be like,
- 22:23Speaker 1: what is even happening.
- 22:24Speaker 4: I remember my first year here working on the radio show,
- 22:26Speaker 4: and you guys opened for Garth that year, oh in Arkansas?
- 22:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and I didn't know, hold on, we were main support.
- 22:32Speaker 1: There were two openers before us.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Main support for Garth Brooks at the Football Stadium, one
- 22:37Speaker 3: hundred thousand people.
- 22:38Speaker 4: There, and I remember like thinking, because obviously we didn't
- 22:40Speaker 4: know each other like we do now, and I was like,
- 22:42Speaker 4: how the heck did they land that?
- 22:43Speaker 1: I know? So we sold so many tickets. Now we
- 22:47Speaker 1: deserve some because It just started off with just comedy
- 22:50Speaker 1: Eddie and I, and then we had to get a
- 22:51Speaker 1: band because people were like offering us festival spots, and
- 22:54Speaker 1: then we just kept selling so many tickets. The shows
- 22:57Speaker 1: got bigger and we got better, but we wished been
- 23:00Speaker 1: playing those spots, but it was weird for us to go,
- 23:03Speaker 1: uh no, we don't want to play in one of
- 23:05Speaker 1: the headliner spots put us like earlier that so we
- 23:08Speaker 1: we don't really play shows anymore. Life life, but we
- 23:12Speaker 1: did that. Like I've written three books, but I don't
- 23:15Speaker 1: even think about that as part of my life because
- 23:17Speaker 1: I wrote two that took forever.
- 23:18Speaker 3: A big deal. You're an author, yeah, like two freaking
- 23:21Speaker 3: best sellers.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I don't think about that. Really is that part?
- 23:24Speaker 4: That's what I'm trying to think, Like, whoa, whoa.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Then there's Dancing with the Stars in America.
- 23:29Speaker 1: I had two shows at three Bobby Bones, Snake in
- 23:32Speaker 1: the Grass. It's just been a bizarre career.
- 23:36Speaker 4: Like Eddie, if you you've known him the longest, if
- 23:38Speaker 4: you were to make a resume for him and you're
- 23:41Speaker 4: his manager or whatever his business anything.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Number one Radio one is by far because he's in
- 23:46Speaker 1: the Hall of Fame.
- 23:47Speaker 4: That's true.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Youngest member ever inducted in the Radio Hall of Fame.
- 23:50Speaker 4: That is true. Okay, number two, Eddie we get he
- 23:52Speaker 4: gets three things. What are the two things are you
- 23:54Speaker 4: putting on?
- 23:55Speaker 3: Number two? Man? I think I would do I would
- 23:58Speaker 3: do the books, just because you're a New York Times.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Bestseller, two times New York Times bestselling, huge deal.
- 24:04Speaker 3: Yeah, that would be number two for me. Okay, a
- 24:06Speaker 3: little more, and then i'd have to do Dancing with
- 24:10Speaker 3: the Stars Champion.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I would also do that as three.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Nice because that's that's I mean.
- 24:13Speaker 1: That didn't take the longest, but that's like a there's
- 24:17Speaker 1: only like thirty of us.
- 24:18Speaker 3: That's what I was gonna ask.
- 24:19Speaker 1: How many thirty something like thirty two whatever it is,
- 24:21Speaker 1: and how many seasons there are? Yeah, but one of
- 24:23Speaker 1: the big deal? Man, Yeah, that's crazy think about I
- 24:27Speaker 1: don't know how.
- 24:27Speaker 3: And then you know, at the bottom of the resume
- 24:29Speaker 3: you put awards, like what are the awards?
- 24:32Speaker 1: I mean, is that an award or is that I
- 24:34Speaker 1: wouldn't put that as awards, Okay, it'd be. It's a
- 24:40Speaker 1: weird career. It feels weird just to sit in here,
- 24:41Speaker 1: just but do you ever glazing myself.
- 24:44Speaker 3: That's not glazing. Do you ever sit there and just
- 24:46Speaker 3: look back at what you've done?
- 24:48Speaker 1: Sometimes it's the weird stuff. I'm telling you. What's the
- 24:50Speaker 1: one of the coolest things to me is this that
- 24:52Speaker 1: championship belt that I have in the studio in the
- 24:55Speaker 1: Bobbycast studio. When I won the MVP for the Celebrity
- 24:59Speaker 1: Softball Tournament. Yeah cool, that was crazy because that was
- 25:01Speaker 1: like two hours. I'm playing against real athletes. I mean,
- 25:04Speaker 1: t O des Bryant that, uh, what are those guys
- 25:09Speaker 1: that do all the trick shots?
- 25:10Speaker 5: Oh?
- 25:11Speaker 1: Perfect? Perfect? There all these guys and like I wanted
- 25:14Speaker 1: to wit. There were female professional players Jenny and I
- 25:18Speaker 1: want MVP because of how I hit and how I
- 25:20Speaker 1: played in the field. Like that. To me, that's so
- 25:24Speaker 1: cool because that was one night I wasn't expected all
- 25:27Speaker 1: those on and I don't know.
- 25:29Speaker 3: That's the cool thing that we were there for that.
- 25:31Speaker 3: You know, like Kevin doesn't really get to experience a
- 25:33Speaker 3: lot of that stuff, but we were there for that,
- 25:35Speaker 3: and they put us in this suite you know, to like, yeah, yeah,
- 25:39Speaker 3: and where'd.
- 25:39Speaker 1: You Yeah I was you went yeah, yeah, he was there,
- 25:41Speaker 1: So he didn't go.
- 25:42Speaker 3: I was like, no, I'm saying he doesn't get to
- 25:43Speaker 3: do a lot of stuff like that, but he was
- 25:45Speaker 3: there for that. Yeah, And we're in this suite and
- 25:47Speaker 3: we're drinking beer, eating like chicken fingers and popcorn, and
- 25:52Speaker 3: you're just going off and we're like, what is happening.
- 25:56Speaker 1: It's just going off in this game. We're yelling and
- 26:00Speaker 1: he was there.
- 26:00Speaker 4: I don't Mike were there too.
- 26:01Speaker 1: No, No, it was crazy.
- 26:03Speaker 4: Everyone's like, who are.
- 26:04Speaker 1: These crazy fings? I'm talking about? Got a single hit
- 26:07Speaker 1: one off the fence, making diving catches.
- 26:10Speaker 5: Hevin.
- 26:10Speaker 3: You remember we looked at each other and we were like,
- 26:12Speaker 3: this dude's gonna win MVP.
- 26:13Speaker 4: Yeah, like a third inning, We're like, this doesn't stop.
- 26:16Speaker 4: I think he's gonna win MVP.
- 26:19Speaker 1: That's crazy. I like to think of myself as like
- 26:22Speaker 1: when the lights come on, I'm able to turn it
- 26:25Speaker 1: up a notch. But I'm also not someone who goes
- 26:28Speaker 1: I'm only good when the lights come on. I think
- 26:29Speaker 1: you really got to put in the work. And I
- 26:30Speaker 1: went and freaking play softball for a month and a
- 26:31Speaker 1: half to just get back at it. Like I was
- 26:34Speaker 1: going out constantly like doing the work. Uh yeah, that's
- 26:38Speaker 1: like little stuff like that's crazy to me.
- 26:40Speaker 3: You gotta put that in your resume.
- 26:41Speaker 1: I don't know, I don't know. Nobody cares, but I
- 26:43Speaker 1: like that belt because.
- 26:43Speaker 4: That's that's a little cliff note.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Or Yeah, so it's been a weird career.
- 26:48Speaker 4: Yeah, very very I mean just in the five years
- 26:50Speaker 4: I've been here, You've done, We've done. But watching you,
- 26:53Speaker 4: obviously with your face is the one that does it all.
- 26:56Speaker 4: It's just a lot.
- 26:56Speaker 1: But there's been stuff that There's been a hundred things
- 26:59Speaker 1: that haven't worked. You don't you know hard. You gotta
- 27:02Speaker 1: keep a freaking line on the water.
- 27:03Speaker 4: We can make a potential resume things that almost work.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Hey, when do we start working on a documentary?
- 27:10Speaker 1: I'm good, right before you die?
- 27:11Speaker 3: You want me to do it, I'm good.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Nobody cares I produce it, literally nobody cares.
- 27:19Speaker 3: But we gotta have drama in there somewhere, like we
- 27:20Speaker 3: get We need good teasers, like like, uh, I hit
- 27:25Speaker 3: rock bottom and then it's like you by the toilet.
- 27:27Speaker 1: I did hit rock bottom when I was on freaking
- 27:29Speaker 1: sleeping pills and I couldn't I remember not even putting
- 27:32Speaker 1: like pumping gas in my car, driving off with the
- 27:34Speaker 1: thing in it.
- 27:35Speaker 4: That really like and I remember that, oh yeah, rolling
- 27:39Speaker 4: up the stairs.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I got so bad on sleeping pills. I don't remember.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Weeks at a time I couldn't sleep ever, so I
- 27:46Speaker 1: start taking sleeping pills. My doctor was like, we've tried everything.
- 27:49Speaker 1: I was sick all the time because I was having
- 27:51Speaker 1: a hardcore PTSD. Yeah got And then when I stopped
- 27:53Speaker 1: taking them cold turkey, I would open my eyes and
- 27:55Speaker 1: it was all black and I couldn't see any I
- 27:58Speaker 1: couldn't see anything because because I was going such with
- 28:00Speaker 1: such withdraws. Yeah, it's crazy.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Okay, that's the teaser.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Is that rock bottom?
- 28:03Speaker 3: That'll be? That'll be in the trailer when you hover
- 28:07Speaker 3: over the thumbnail.
- 28:08Speaker 1: I did go to like a camp for a while
- 28:10Speaker 1: because I like had no purpose in my life other
- 28:13Speaker 1: than work eight hours a day with the therapist for
- 28:16Speaker 1: a week, I no wish if much closer it was
- 28:20Speaker 1: down the road.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Hey dude, Ranch he.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Okay, Uh, we're gonna talk with Brian Jones just a second. Yeah,
- 28:32Speaker 1: here we go. Okay, so before we go to Brian,
- 28:36Speaker 1: just so everybody knows Brian and I I don't know
- 28:39Speaker 1: Brian would remember me. I remembered him. But we were
- 28:42Speaker 1: both in Austin and he was working on thirteen hundred
- 28:46Speaker 1: Zone and I was doing mornings before I started syndicating
- 28:49Speaker 1: my own show, just in Austin, and we'd see each
- 28:51Speaker 1: other all the time, and it was like, what U
- 28:53Speaker 1: there were just two people. Now, he's obviously big TV
- 28:57Speaker 1: guy and so but we have for a couple of years.
- 29:00Speaker 1: I see Brian all the time. Mike miked, you ran
- 29:02Speaker 1: the board for them? Yeah? Wait back, Oh wait, Mike
- 29:05Speaker 1: ran the board for them, ran the board for them.
- 29:07Speaker 5: Really?
- 29:07Speaker 1: Hey, you buy me lunch all the time. That's sweet,
- 29:10Speaker 1: that's really cool.
- 29:11Speaker 4: I heard Eddie mentioned something yet, but I thought he
- 29:12Speaker 4: was saying Brian ran his own board.
- 29:14Speaker 3: No, no, no, Mike, Oh that's awesome.
- 29:16Speaker 1: Do you ever know the story about Ray and I
- 29:18Speaker 1: how how I found Ray?
- 29:20Speaker 4: But when you praise it like that, I don't want
- 29:22Speaker 4: to hear it.
- 29:23Speaker 3: They kill me in the documentary, don't worry.
- 29:25Speaker 1: They came to me and they were like, hey, you
- 29:27Speaker 1: want to we need some people to cover sports. Do
- 29:29Speaker 1: you like sports? Do you want to do some sports?
- 29:31Speaker 1: And I was like sure, I'll do anything, and so
- 29:33Speaker 1: they were like, hey, thirteen end of the Zone. Why
- 29:34Speaker 1: don't you do like this afternoon? In that afternoon? I
- 29:37Speaker 1: was like cool they were. I was like, who's gonna
- 29:39Speaker 1: produce me? Like, well, you gonna have any these other
- 29:41Speaker 1: ones or we have this new guy. I was like,
- 29:43Speaker 1: I'll take the new guy because he doesn't he's already
- 29:45Speaker 1: built into his ways. It's fricking Ray. Ray was an
- 29:47Speaker 1: intern at thirteen hundred Zone and so Ray produced my
- 29:51Speaker 1: first ever sports It's not even I mean shows, but
- 29:54Speaker 1: I was doing fillin work.
- 29:55Speaker 4: Was it like live radio or oh?
- 29:57Speaker 5: Nice?
- 29:58Speaker 4: That wasn't The one with Roddick was?
- 30:00Speaker 2: No?
- 30:00Speaker 1: We later turned into that later that was like Fox
- 30:03Speaker 1: Sports National?
- 30:04Speaker 3: Do you remember that one?
- 30:05Speaker 5: No?
- 30:05Speaker 4: But when I left Fox and I told people I
- 30:08Speaker 4: was getting hired on here, like oh, Bobby used to
- 30:10Speaker 4: do a show through us or in l A or
- 30:12Speaker 4: something like that. They were just telling me all that
- 30:14Speaker 4: with Roddick on the weekends or something.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Andy and I did a show for a couple of years.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Then he quit and so then I should buy myself
- 30:20Speaker 1: for about a year and then I was touring, having
- 30:21Speaker 1: to go to like a studio in Tuscaloosa and do
- 30:24Speaker 1: the show National. I was like, man, I can't do
- 30:25Speaker 1: this anymore like I'm touring and doing sports and opening
- 30:29Speaker 1: for GARP. That's w yeah. Yet here he is the
- 30:34Speaker 1: great Brian Jones, former Texas Longhorns linebacker, former NFL player.
- 30:39Speaker 1: I see him on TV basically every single week. A
- 30:41Speaker 1: great looking guy. I've watched this guy's his beard just
- 30:44Speaker 1: like create this whole New Chisel version of himself. Brian Jones.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Good to see.
- 30:49Speaker 6: You, my man. Bobby Boems, what's up, buddy.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Whenever I heard you were coming on, I got a
- 30:57Speaker 1: little flutter in my belly. I listened.
- 30:59Speaker 6: It's when I saw you, when I saw you on
- 31:02Speaker 6: my list. I said that, my dude, from way way
- 31:04Speaker 6: way back.
- 31:05Speaker 1: In the day, way back in the day. It's so
- 31:07Speaker 1: cool to see your success.
- 31:09Speaker 5: Man.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Your suit's getting more expensive every week. It looks like.
- 31:12Speaker 5: I'm glad they're free.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Oh so, what kind of budget do you get? A
- 31:17Speaker 1: clothing budget?
- 31:18Speaker 3: Do you get?
- 31:18Speaker 5: What?
- 31:19Speaker 1: CB?
- 31:19Speaker 7: They give you?
- 31:19Speaker 1: A good one.
- 31:21Speaker 6: I've got a deal with Taylor bird Man and they
- 31:25Speaker 6: threw some close family friends. Way back in the day.
- 31:30Speaker 6: We did a bartering deal and then it's just endured
- 31:33Speaker 6: over the years. So CBS has nothing to do with
- 31:37Speaker 6: it other than making sure my folks at Taylor Bird
- 31:41Speaker 6: get a mention on each and every show.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Well, you look great, So I'll start with that, you
- 31:45Speaker 1: look great every week. I'm always looking at It's like
- 31:47Speaker 1: back in the day, like what's Van and White wearing?
- 31:48Speaker 1: I'm a's what's Brian Jones wearing? That's what it's like.
- 31:52Speaker 6: Well, hey, man, I appreciate you and congratulate all your success.
- 31:55Speaker 6: As I said a moment ago, remember those days over
- 31:58Speaker 6: at KVID and all of us were trying to find
- 32:01Speaker 6: our traction and find our way, and you've done it successfully, man,
- 32:05Speaker 6: So kudos to you.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I appreciate that. Let's talk some ball for a second.
- 32:10Speaker 1: So look, I'm from Arkansas and I love Austin, one
- 32:13Speaker 1: of my favorite cities in the world. I am a
- 32:15Speaker 1: longhorn hater because I grew up in Arkansas, like old
- 32:17Speaker 1: Southwest Conference days, right, and I'm gonna have to be
- 32:19Speaker 1: right yeah, And I'm surrounded by longhorned die hards on
- 32:23Speaker 1: this show. So it's how good is Texas gonna be
- 32:26Speaker 1: next year?
- 32:27Speaker 3: With arch?
- 32:28Speaker 6: Oh man, I thought we were gonna talk to draft.
- 32:30Speaker 6: We all start my college ball prep until June until
- 32:36Speaker 6: all my closest friends don't ask me a damn thing
- 32:39Speaker 6: about college ball until July.
- 32:42Speaker 1: But I'm not asking you. I'm asking about Press Texas specifically.
- 32:46Speaker 1: You got the.
- 32:47Speaker 5: Helmet right behind you.
- 32:48Speaker 1: You're like the god.
- 32:49Speaker 7: I don't know damn thing about Texas right now. Okay,
- 32:52Speaker 7: they just wrapped up spring ball or not. I was
- 32:54Speaker 7: in Africa, so I didn't get to see any of that.
- 32:57Speaker 7: We had a big long Born reunion. I missed all
- 33:00Speaker 7: that good stuff. So ask me and Julye.
- 33:03Speaker 6: But they're gonna be good because Arts was one of
- 33:05Speaker 6: the best in the business under center those last four
- 33:08Speaker 6: or five ball games.
- 33:09Speaker 5: They're gonna be just fine.
- 33:10Speaker 6: And I'll end with this with Cam coming over, the
- 33:13Speaker 6: wide receiver coming over from from Auburn, and Devin I'm
- 33:17Speaker 6: forgetting his last name.
- 33:19Speaker 5: See, look how you're getting me in trouble already.
- 33:21Speaker 6: I'm telling you along with that Jeremiah Smith, we're gonna
- 33:24Speaker 6: have one of the best receivers in all the college ball.
- 33:27Speaker 1: You said you weren't gonna answer, then you answered, though,
- 33:29Speaker 1: So I appreciate that.
- 33:30Speaker 5: Well, I got, I got. I gotta help him the
- 33:32Speaker 5: boy out. Now. You know, when you ask, you say jump,
- 33:35Speaker 5: I say how high?
- 33:36Speaker 1: Bobby Okay, speaking receivers generally, speaking with the draft, it
- 33:40Speaker 1: feels like this is a pretty good receiver draft. Your
- 33:42Speaker 1: thoughts on that?
- 33:43Speaker 6: Yes, I agree, and uh, you know, everyone here the
- 33:47Speaker 6: last couple of days been talking about the Jordan Tyson
- 33:49Speaker 6: kid at Arizona State.
- 33:50Speaker 5: He is phenomenal.
- 33:52Speaker 6: Yes, he's had some lingering injury issues the hamstring. He
- 33:56Speaker 6: seems to have checked that box and everyone it's not
- 33:59Speaker 6: as concerned there. He's ideal. My guy, though, is Markai
- 34:05Speaker 6: Lemon out of USC. Oh, my goodness. You turned on
- 34:09Speaker 6: the tape just watching him last year. You talking about
- 34:12Speaker 6: being able to box defenders out, being able to contort
- 34:16Speaker 6: his body. This guy catches more contested footballs than anyone
- 34:21Speaker 6: I've seen in a long long time. And you know
- 34:24Speaker 6: he's not one of these six five six six guys.
- 34:27Speaker 6: He's just very athletic. He knows how to utilize his
- 34:30Speaker 6: body in space, he knows how to get separation, and
- 34:34Speaker 6: he ain't scared. He kind of reminds me of Nikoua
- 34:38Speaker 6: there with the rams, the way he can just position
- 34:41Speaker 6: his body, give quarterbacks a target, and the confidence quarterbacks
- 34:46Speaker 6: will have thrown to him because they know he's going
- 34:48Speaker 6: to fight that's my guy.
- 34:50Speaker 1: I feel like, just me a layman's dude looking at it,
- 34:54Speaker 1: it's receivers and edge. I feel like it's a pretty
- 34:56Speaker 1: strong edge draft too. You know, a couple of these
- 34:59Speaker 1: guys to go real early, who's the first ad you
- 35:02Speaker 1: would take?
- 35:02Speaker 6: It's gonna be Bailey, no doubt, it's gonna be this guy.
- 35:05Speaker 6: He goes out there. You know, he ain't fancy, no gloves,
- 35:09Speaker 6: no ristbs, anything. He just has that money step though.
- 35:13Speaker 6: He gets off the ball and he gets to quarterbacks.
- 35:16Speaker 6: He can dip, he can rip, he can run that hoop.
- 35:20Speaker 6: They put all of those edge guys through, it's gonna
- 35:23Speaker 6: be David Bailey will be the first second behind him.
- 35:26Speaker 5: I got Ruben bayin now.
- 35:28Speaker 6: People are pointing to his shard arms and his height
- 35:31Speaker 6: being lacking, but look throughout the history. You know, recent
- 35:35Speaker 6: history of Dwight Freenie staying with the coach Robert Mathis.
- 35:39Speaker 6: You know, Freenie six time Pro Bowl or something like that,
- 35:41Speaker 6: and Mathis has even more sacks than Freene had. So
- 35:45Speaker 6: both of those guys were beneath that that six' three.
- 35:49Speaker 6: Mark that's Where bain, is And bain is such a
- 35:52Speaker 6: violent football, player and he's got that first step. Two
- 35:55Speaker 6: and people say he's not as. Athletic, man you watch
- 35:57Speaker 6: him especially in the big ball, games state that national
- 36:01Speaker 6: title game Versus. Indiana, uh this guy has been and
- 36:05Speaker 6: he can set the edge and be a run. Stopper
- 36:07Speaker 6: and you can also slide him inside play some three
- 36:09Speaker 6: technique when you want to do some nickel stuff in
- 36:12Speaker 6: case you have even better pass rushers you can place out.
- 36:15Speaker 1: THERE i think With, band it's you, know he has
- 36:18Speaker 1: arms shorter than thirty two inches and you, know so
- 36:20Speaker 1: now this is what it's always. Something it's like always
- 36:24Speaker 1: a hand's too. Small but Like, band.
- 36:27Speaker 5: No, bobby get.
- 36:27Speaker 6: This you know what they're saying about. It they're, saying,
- 36:30Speaker 6: oh he doesn't have ankle. Flexion what the funds does that?
- 36:33Speaker 6: Mean pick out of the? Air what ankle? Flexion come, on?
- 36:38Speaker 1: Man is this other teams trying to knock him down
- 36:42Speaker 1: in the, Draft like like enough negativity gets, out maybe he.
- 36:45Speaker 5: Falls that's what happens every.
- 36:47Speaker 6: Year you, know if there's a guy you cover, it
- 36:49Speaker 6: you're gonna put something out there in the ether that
- 36:52Speaker 6: will tear him down and hopefully throw everybody else off
- 36:55Speaker 6: his SCIN i think that's exactly what's. Occurring but once
- 36:59Speaker 6: again on the, tape and it speaks for his. ITSELF i,
- 37:03Speaker 6: mean this guy had a big interception in the early
- 37:06Speaker 6: ball game Versus Notre. Dame he showed up and showed
- 37:09Speaker 6: out in all the games at the end of the,
- 37:12Speaker 6: season that playoff game Versus TEXAS a AND. M go
- 37:15Speaker 6: turn that film, off tell me what you. See and
- 37:17Speaker 6: a damn thing wrong with his ankles in. There his
- 37:20Speaker 6: arms weren't too sharp to get after their quarterback and
- 37:23Speaker 6: their running backs in that.
- 37:24Speaker 1: AFFAIR a lot of folks Say Jeremiah love is the
- 37:26Speaker 1: best overall, player but at that position running, back, ying
- 37:29Speaker 1: it's rare That Jimmy gibbs got drafted top, Ten like it's, rare,
- 37:33Speaker 1: right how do you feel About Jeremiah? Love, like who
- 37:35Speaker 1: does he comp as far as who's in THE?
- 37:37Speaker 5: Nfl, now, listen he's, phenomenal this.
- 37:41Speaker 6: GUY i was speaking to a good friend who's a
- 37:45Speaker 6: LONGTIME nfl, coach and he, said, yeah he's number one by.
- 37:49Speaker 5: Far he is a great. Act he's so.
- 37:51Speaker 6: Versatile you can throw the ball to, him of, course
- 37:54Speaker 6: handed off to, him and he's got six, spin move
- 37:58Speaker 6: hops all that can play, hurt you, know two years
- 38:01Speaker 6: ago in the, playoffs he's got a knee brace on
- 38:03Speaker 6: and he's still forced to be reckon with as far as,
- 38:07Speaker 6: comps you Mentioned Jamar. Gibbs he has that type of
- 38:11Speaker 6: electricity in his ball, game you. Know and Then price
- 38:15Speaker 6: is just as. Good you, know they didn't throw the
- 38:16Speaker 6: ball as much to him because he didn't get as
- 38:18Speaker 6: many touches As. Love BUT i think those are the
- 38:22Speaker 6: two best backs in this, draft and they were. Teammates
- 38:24Speaker 6: you're Dearon price And Jeremiah, Love BUT i love What
- 38:29Speaker 6: love brings to the.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Table like he's averaging over ten yards of, reception which
- 38:32Speaker 1: is pretty wild for a running back to because you
- 38:34Speaker 1: also have to trust the running back to get. Downfilled,
- 38:36Speaker 1: right that's just not a bunch of flair passes that
- 38:38Speaker 1: you're throwing the ball.
- 38:39Speaker 5: To but it's, like, no, no, no you want to
- 38:41Speaker 5: get him in.
- 38:41Speaker 6: Space, yeah those are the type of guys you want
- 38:44Speaker 6: to get out in space and just let them do
- 38:45Speaker 6: what they. Do and as they always tell those those
- 38:48Speaker 6: kick returners, departments to make the first guy, miss we
- 38:51Speaker 6: got the.
- 38:51Speaker 5: Rest, well he's gonna make the first two three guys.
- 38:54Speaker 6: Miss that's how electric and how athletic this young man.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Is it's a bit of a luxury though to drop
- 39:01Speaker 1: the running, back, right if you have a lot of,
- 39:03Speaker 1: needs like do you jump on a running back even
- 39:05Speaker 1: if he's, transcendent.
- 39:07Speaker 5: He's got to be.
- 39:07Speaker 6: Special if he's as special As Jeremiah, love, yes you
- 39:10Speaker 6: jump on.
- 39:11Speaker 5: It and this day and, age you're, correct.
- 39:13Speaker 6: Man we've seen the interest in those guys received somewhat
- 39:16Speaker 6: and people think you can.
- 39:17Speaker 5: Get a lot of value.
- 39:19Speaker 6: Later you, KNOW i look At ashton genty a year
- 39:21Speaker 6: ago and he goes to a team with no. LINE
- 39:24Speaker 6: i mean they couldn't Block ice last year there with The.
- 39:27Speaker 6: Raiders and this guy is a special. Talent he's. Transcended
- 39:31Speaker 6: and if they get AN o, line and of course
- 39:33Speaker 6: they're gonna Pick.
- 39:34Speaker 5: Mendoza now you got a running.
- 39:36Speaker 6: Game if you can find AN o, line you got
- 39:38Speaker 6: a pro style quarterback who is a pro in every
- 39:42Speaker 6: sense of the word as far as how he attacks his.
- 39:44Speaker 6: Craft if you can get some protection for that one two,
- 39:47Speaker 6: points they're going to be. Good But love is one
- 39:50Speaker 6: of those, guys, MAN i think he's worthy of a
- 39:53Speaker 6: top five.
- 39:53Speaker 1: PICK i got a bunch of teams now with two
- 39:55Speaker 1: picks in the first. Round, jets The, giants they just
- 39:58Speaker 1: the dextra trade With cincinnati The. COWBOYS i was seeing
- 40:01Speaker 1: The cowboys thinking, about you, know packaging. Up if you're The,
- 40:04Speaker 1: cowboys what are you trying to?
- 40:05Speaker 4: Do?
- 40:06Speaker 6: Wow you, KNOW i love what they did in free,
- 40:09Speaker 6: agency going and get the Shan.
- 40:10Speaker 5: Gary that, helps you.
- 40:12Speaker 6: Know of course they got the big fella they traded
- 40:15Speaker 6: for from The jets whose name is escaping.
- 40:17Speaker 3: Me Former Alabama William, williams.
- 40:19Speaker 6: A, Lineman Quentin. Williams thank, you, sir SEE i know
- 40:22Speaker 6: you come to my. AGE i think they need to
- 40:25Speaker 6: find a. Backer they lost a couple of guys. There mary's,
- 40:27Speaker 6: Gone wilson kid's. Gone SO i know they're gonna look
- 40:31Speaker 6: at at. Linebacker maybe they go for another edge, guy you,
- 40:34Speaker 6: know Maybe bain's. There we'll, see or do they move
- 40:37Speaker 6: up to take. Him but, linebacker there's some good value
- 40:41Speaker 6: there after our sunny. Styles you, know everyone looks At
- 40:44Speaker 6: Jacob rodriguez out Of Texas. Tech he's another guy that
- 40:47Speaker 6: may not have the measurables you. Want you, KNOW i
- 40:50Speaker 6: think he goes about six feet six, one but he's
- 40:52Speaker 6: always around the.
- 40:53Speaker 5: Ball he is a. Gamer he had.
- 40:55Speaker 6: Like six or seven force, Fumbles he's got, Interceptions he's
- 40:59Speaker 6: the air everywhere on the football.
- 41:02Speaker 5: FIELD i LIKE.
- 41:02Speaker 6: Cj, allen the kid out Of georgia as. Well he
- 41:05Speaker 6: Was All american last, year the last three. Seasons you,
- 41:08Speaker 6: know he's a guy that they could count. On he's
- 41:10Speaker 6: a leader on that, field lining guys up in a,
- 41:14Speaker 6: sideline the sideline.
- 41:15Speaker 5: Player.
- 41:15Speaker 1: YEAH a couple of those defensive guys Like Arvo reeves
- 41:17Speaker 1: And Sunny, styles both are guys that you'd probably like
- 41:20Speaker 1: to have on your team if you're looking to like build.
- 41:22Speaker 6: Defensively, Oh Sunny, Styles Rvel, Reeves Caleb, downs and they've
- 41:26Speaker 6: had the benefit now of playing pro style defense and
- 41:30Speaker 6: one that can be fairly complex With Matt patricia taking
- 41:34Speaker 6: over there At Ohio. State so those guys they learned that,
- 41:38Speaker 6: system they went out and played it to. Perfection historical
- 41:41Speaker 6: numbers on the defensive side of the ball as far
- 41:43Speaker 6: as what they allowed to opposing, offenses and you can't
- 41:47Speaker 6: go wrong with. Them Sunny style's former, safety so you
- 41:50Speaker 6: know he's going to be good in. Coverage he's got
- 41:52Speaker 6: the FOOTBALL. Iq same with Rvil, REEVES i Think. Rees
- 41:55Speaker 6: you know he's still going to meet some development as
- 41:59Speaker 6: far as being that bona fide edge. Guy but WHAT
- 42:02Speaker 6: i would do with his athleticism may cover everybody up
- 42:05Speaker 6: and just let him. Hunt that's the type of talent
- 42:07Speaker 6: and speed he.
- 42:08Speaker 1: Possesses you Mentioned Caleb downs, earlier and they're treating safety
- 42:12Speaker 1: a belt like they treat running, back like you get
- 42:13Speaker 1: that after you've got everything. Else but he's so, Elite
- 42:16Speaker 1: like what do you think Of Caleb?
- 42:17Speaker 5: Downs, yeah he's one of those guys you can put
- 42:19Speaker 5: in the.
- 42:19Speaker 6: Box you, Know Dylan Theena, men the Former purdue balla
- 42:22Speaker 6: make who transferred To. Oregon the same guys that can.
- 42:26Speaker 6: Stick you can stick them down there in the box
- 42:28Speaker 6: and they're gonna be great against the opposing run. Game
- 42:32Speaker 6: but it's there as, adept you, know being back there
- 42:35Speaker 6: playing center field and covering. Ground and SO i think
- 42:39Speaker 6: he's one of those guys that he's a first rounder
- 42:43Speaker 6: because he's another pros pro the way he goes about his.
- 42:46Speaker 6: Business but IF i got a chance to interview him
- 42:48Speaker 6: last year at The Big Ten Media, days AND i
- 42:50Speaker 6: sat there just in bewilderment listening to this cat like.
- 42:52Speaker 6: Man you sound like you about thirty and you've been
- 42:55Speaker 6: in the league ten. Years so that's how he goes
- 42:58Speaker 6: about his, business that's how he. Himself and he's authentic
- 43:02Speaker 6: and genuine and he loves the. Game and he got
- 43:05Speaker 6: coached by one of the better deepest coaches in all our.
- 43:09Speaker 5: Game and that Was Nick.
- 43:10Speaker 6: Saban the one year he played For Coach saban Dered
- 43:12Speaker 6: alabama landin and tackles as a true.
- 43:15Speaker 1: FRESHMAN i know you're doing some work With, barry which
- 43:18Speaker 1: is A cte treatment. Drug how did you get involved in?
- 43:21Speaker 6: That well through a mutual friend partner me with Doctor Christina.
- 43:25Speaker 6: Gavignano she's been doing yeoman's work in this, space trying
- 43:31Speaker 6: to find an, elixir if you, will the holy grail
- 43:34Speaker 6: for head trauma and SPECIFICALLY, cte and she thinks she
- 43:39Speaker 6: may have done. It we're conducting studies. Now Bear cittiman
- 43:43Speaker 6: is the drug that she developed and she thinks it
- 43:46Speaker 6: could be the holy grail for TREATING cte and head.
- 43:49Speaker 5: Trauma SO i partnered with.
- 43:51Speaker 6: Her we did a bevy of interviews during a radio
- 43:55Speaker 6: row and The Super bowl out In San, francisco and
- 43:57Speaker 6: we're continuing continuing to PROMOTE uh the, studies the medical
- 44:02Speaker 6: studies and and and bear, centiment bear, sedative excuse, me
- 44:07Speaker 6: and all the work she's. Doing so we're holding out, hope,
- 44:10Speaker 6: man that this could be uh some type of uh
- 44:15Speaker 6: a drug that can mitigate all the the things that
- 44:19Speaker 6: players are dealing, with you, know from uh inflammation and
- 44:23Speaker 6: and and brain, injuries and you know even those outside
- 44:27Speaker 6: of sports And parkerson and and and And. Alzheimer's so
- 44:31Speaker 6: uh that's why we're out here discussing uh these studies
- 44:34Speaker 6: and this drug because Doctor gavinano uh thinks we have
- 44:38Speaker 6: we have embarked on uh the key, driver which is,
- 44:41Speaker 6: inflammation which is uh getting in the way of treating
- 44:45Speaker 6: these specific. Injuries so hopefully uh we're going down the
- 44:49Speaker 6: right path.
- 44:49Speaker 5: And and we uh realize some good gains.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Here, SHORTLY i wanted to talk to you about one more.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Thing i'm rarely On, facebook BUT i got for some,

- 45:26Speaker 6: Ago he AND i both were at a charitable event
- 45:30Speaker 6: For Derek, johnson one of his former, players And derek
- 45:33Speaker 6: was there WHEN i was sideline reporter FOR ut AND
- 45:35Speaker 6: i actually Hosted Mac BROWN'S tv show when he was
- 45:38Speaker 6: a head coach here At. Texas so, YES i see
- 45:41Speaker 6: him at different spots on the golf COURSE Ut, golf of.
- 45:46Speaker 6: Course here In, AUSTIN i see him maturity events and
- 45:49Speaker 6: things of that. Nature since he's, retired he's moved back

- 45:54Speaker 5: Carolina you like that. Guy Coach brown AND.
- 45:57Speaker 6: I have had an interesting relationship the last couple of.
- 46:01Speaker 6: Decades you, know WHEN i was sideline reporter and doing
- 46:04Speaker 6: radio In, austin we butted heads a few, times but you,
- 46:07Speaker 6: know he AND i have buried the hatchet and we
- 46:10Speaker 6: get along just.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Fine Good, OKAY i hear. YOU i hear what you're
- 46:13Speaker 1: saying there you did a good job saying.
- 46:15Speaker 5: THAT i like that you got hey, man too old
- 46:18Speaker 5: to be holding gruss all, Right, yeah to get on with.
- 46:21Speaker 6: Your, life And Bruce lee, says keep that. Piece you
- 46:24Speaker 6: make your piece by what you choose to give your
- 46:27Speaker 6: energy to one final.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Thing growing up In lubbock were the long words kind
- 46:31Speaker 1: of a bad.
- 46:31Speaker 5: Word, well depends on who you were hanging out.
- 46:33Speaker 6: With, yeah, LISTEN i would go to The Texas tech.
- 46:37Speaker 6: Games we'd sit in the grass and sometimes we were
- 46:40Speaker 6: selling soda pop and, popcorn but we were doing more
- 46:43Speaker 6: watching the game than. That and then we jump on
- 46:46Speaker 6: the field and get the sweaty wrist bands AND i
- 46:48Speaker 6: march back with The Texas tech band.
- 46:51Speaker 5: To their band.
- 46:52Speaker 6: Hole they were one of the finest bands in all
- 46:55Speaker 6: of college.
- 46:55Speaker 5: Football So i'm surrounded By Red. Raiders of, course.
- 46:58Speaker 6: Growing up in love it but it was always a long,
- 47:01Speaker 6: one and it just so happened a quarterback in safety
- 47:05Speaker 6: from the rival high school in love With Jerry. Gray
- 47:08Speaker 6: he ATTENDED ut SO i watched him play at high,
- 47:11Speaker 6: school didn watch him AT ut SO i followed his
- 47:13Speaker 6: footsteps shortly.
- 47:15Speaker 5: Thereafter so, yes and In texas is still a bad
- 47:18Speaker 5: word in.
- 47:19Speaker 1: Love good to see. You i'm super pumped for your.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Success it's you do a great job on. Television SO
- 47:25Speaker 1: i appreciate, you.
- 47:26Speaker 5: My, man and the saying goes for. You AS i said.
- 47:29Speaker 6: Earlier you, know back in the, day we were both
- 47:31Speaker 6: trying to find our traction in this business and we've
- 47:34Speaker 6: been blessed and so hopefully it continues for.
- 47:36Speaker 5: You, home my, man you.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Too, brian good to see, you Hopefully sea See.
- 47:40Speaker 5: Brian all, Right buddy hook? Him, nope.
- 47:48Speaker 1: All, right thanks To. Brian one thing before we go kick.
- 47:51Speaker 1: Off kevin has, twins and so have. You. Guys had
- 47:54Speaker 1: to hire a babysitter, yet.
- 47:56Speaker 4: Not, yet but we have to hire our first one
- 47:59Speaker 4: next week because we're going to a. Wedding no, Family
- 48:02Speaker 4: our family doesn't live here my side or her, side
- 48:04Speaker 4: so we have to hire, somebody, right and It's. Eddie
- 48:08Speaker 4: you've probably been through this a couple of. Times it's
- 48:09Speaker 4: like scary because you've got to be able to trust,
- 48:11Speaker 4: somebody so. Scary if it's not somebody you know, personally
- 48:14Speaker 4: then it's kind of, like, okay how AM i going
- 48:16Speaker 4: to be able to trust this? Person so we did find.
- 48:19Speaker 4: Somebody it's my wife's. Friends coworker who's a. Nurse, okay
- 48:23Speaker 4: nurse is. Legit but Now i'm kind of in a.
- 48:25Speaker 5: Dilemma.
- 48:26Speaker 4: ONE i have no idea what they charge these. Days
- 48:29Speaker 4: but the biggest thing IS i have, twins SO i
- 48:31Speaker 4: don't know IF i should charge or give her double
- 48:34Speaker 4: the rate time and a. Half you, know what do
- 48:38Speaker 4: you THINK i? Should what do you guys THINK i should?
- 48:39Speaker 1: Do what's kids?
- 48:40Speaker 3: Too you kind of have to. DO i wouldn't say,
- 48:43Speaker 3: double but it would definitely be more than one. Kid
- 48:46Speaker 3: but but, honestly anytime we've ever gotten a, babysitter like
- 48:49Speaker 3: a new babysitter never met, before we always just hit
- 48:53Speaker 3: them with a question like what do you? Charge and
- 48:55Speaker 3: then usually they're kind of because they're, younger and they're
- 48:58Speaker 3: always just, like oh, no you, know like anything's. Fine
- 49:01Speaker 3: ten twelve bucks an. Hour it's a nurse, THOUGH i,
- 49:04Speaker 3: know but usually they start low and then you can
- 49:06Speaker 3: make them feel. Better but, like you know, what we'll
- 49:07Speaker 3: just do fifteen and it's still a good. Price that's
- 49:11Speaker 3: usually what's happened with. Us, okay let them give you the.
- 49:13Speaker 3: Price they usually start, low and then you can kind
- 49:17Speaker 3: of make yourself look a little. Better by your negotiating
- 49:19Speaker 3: with the.
- 49:20Speaker 4: Babyhitter, no you.
- 49:20Speaker 3: Kind of, no you don't, negotiate you kind of just
- 49:22Speaker 3: don't worry about. It we'll just give you fifteen, then
- 49:24Speaker 3: but let them start the price or if they started high,
- 49:27Speaker 3: though now we're, good then that's what we'll, pay all.
- 49:28Speaker 3: Right if you haven't negotiated a.
- 49:30Speaker 4: Price not yet meeting her this weekend, actually.
- 49:33Speaker 1: So then you, say, hey very excited about. This super
- 49:36Speaker 1: cool your, nurse we have, Twins, like what's your rate
- 49:38Speaker 1: to babysit for? Twins it may literally be twenty five
- 49:41Speaker 1: thirty bucks an? Hour how many hours are you? Gone?
- 49:44Speaker 4: Uh probably?
- 49:46Speaker 1: Five? Six, yeah, MAN i think what's great about that
- 49:49Speaker 1: is one it is, two so it's gonna be difficult for,
- 49:51Speaker 1: Them but if it's a, nurse that's so much peace of.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Mind you're paying for peace of mind if you're.
- 49:57Speaker 4: By, yourself especially LIKE i wouldn't feel as bad if
- 49:59Speaker 4: they're there's two, people but one person with two babies
- 50:03Speaker 4: is super hard and we both know, that my wife
- 50:05Speaker 4: AND i. So but obviously her being and nurses is
- 50:07Speaker 4: like literally what she does for a. Living so we'll
- 50:10Speaker 4: see what she.
- 50:10Speaker 3: Says we had one one time that was, like didn't
- 50:14Speaker 3: really know, her and we said, yes and then she was, like,
- 50:18Speaker 3: hey is it cool my boyfriend comes over and helps
- 50:21Speaker 3: me watch the. Kids we're like, no, no and then
- 50:25Speaker 3: so we had to cancel like the whole, thing just
- 50:27Speaker 3: because she was, like, oh, okay well, SORRY i won't
- 50:29Speaker 3: be able to do. It but that's crazy that a
- 50:31Speaker 3: babysitter would even think asked that she was probably twenty
- 50:36Speaker 3: one twenty.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Two oh that's older THAN i.
- 50:37Speaker 5: Thought.
- 50:38Speaker 1: Yeah, YEAH i was seen like sixteen to, seven still
- 50:40Speaker 1: young enough to ask a dumb, question but not young
- 50:43Speaker 1: enough to actually have to cancel it because her stupid
- 50:45Speaker 1: boyfriend can't come. Home, yeah do you have a go?
- 50:46Speaker 3: To we do, WELL i mean now it's my, son
- 50:49Speaker 3: my oldest son can do it. Now but for a long, time,
- 50:51Speaker 3: man we were just going through babysitters because we have four,
- 50:54Speaker 3: boys and every babysitter we would get would watch them
- 50:57Speaker 3: for three or four hours and then ghost. Us we
- 51:00Speaker 3: would never hear from them again because it was so
- 51:02Speaker 3: much work for.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Them does this person that you're hiring often? Babysit are
- 51:07Speaker 1: they just doing a? Favor?
- 51:08Speaker 4: Yeah, no they also babysit on so that's.
- 51:09Speaker 1: Great, yeah then you want to give them good rate
- 51:14Speaker 1: and if you can make them a little more, so
- 51:18Speaker 1: if there's ever a you versus somebody, else they'll always pick.
- 51:22Speaker 2: You.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Yes if it's like the same time you both need,
- 51:24Speaker 1: somebody you only trust this one. Person you really want
- 51:27Speaker 1: to somehow put yourself at the top of their list
- 51:31Speaker 1: when it's, oh three options, here what DO i? Do and,
- 51:34Speaker 1: again if it's a, nurse that's so.
- 51:36Speaker 4: VALUABLE i, know and that's What i'm. Thinking i'm, like
- 51:38Speaker 4: we got to build this relationship because it's hard to find.
- 51:40Speaker 4: One but if we find one that we like and
- 51:42Speaker 4: trust and it's a nurse and the raid is good,
- 51:45Speaker 4: enough and it's, Like, okay it's worth the peace of
- 51:47Speaker 4: mind alone for.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Sure if you can afford. It absolutely. Agree BUT i
- 51:50Speaker 1: feel like that with employees, too meaning it's kind of
- 51:56Speaker 1: weird with all you guys. Here BUT i was going to,
- 51:58Speaker 1: say but none of you guys work for me full,
- 51:59Speaker 1: full full, time like you guys work for the. Company
- 52:03Speaker 1: but then my company also pays you guys and to
- 52:06Speaker 1: do different. Things but at full time, EMPLOYEES i overpay them.
- 52:08Speaker 1: ALL i overpay them all BECAUSE i want them to
- 52:13Speaker 1: one feel valued and two if it's like probably if
- 52:18Speaker 1: they got to pick another jobs offered to them and it's, like,
- 52:20Speaker 1: ah what AM i gonna do? HERE i got this one's,
- 52:23Speaker 1: offered maybe even a little more, money BUT i do
- 52:25Speaker 1: like this, Job, bob and he's overpaying me, already and
- 52:27Speaker 1: the ViBe's good and we get to go To oregon
- 52:31Speaker 1: and watch. Football and you, know if you can afford,
- 52:36Speaker 1: it always overpay your talent because it's so hard to replace.
- 52:40Speaker 1: It good, talent. That'say talent is just a person that
- 52:43Speaker 1: can do something right if you can afford.
- 52:46Speaker 3: It is that thirty thirty dollars an? Hour is?
- 52:49Speaker 5: That that's?
- 52:49Speaker 4: What honestly that was the exact number.
- 52:51Speaker 3: That does that sound crazy? Though like is that expensive
- 52:54Speaker 3: for you for?
- 52:54Speaker 5: One?
- 52:55Speaker 3: Yes for?
- 52:55Speaker 1: Two?
- 52:56Speaker 4: No oh yeah the two thing that, yeah, yeah sure
- 52:58Speaker 4: factors in, ONE i would be okay twenty bucks ten
- 53:05Speaker 4: thirteen dollars and a coupon IF i wouldn't get one.
- 53:11Speaker 3: Free when my oldest son started, babysitting my youngest was
- 53:14Speaker 3: like so. Upset he's, like we're not getting, Babysitters like,
- 53:17Speaker 3: NAH i think we're done with, Babysitters like Why like
- 53:19Speaker 3: Why he's, LIKE i like the.
- 53:20Speaker 1: Babysitters imagine you won't hang any.
- 53:23Speaker 3: Dudes, uh they were all. Girls and THEN i asked him, like,
- 53:25Speaker 3: okay well we were to hire, one what would you?
- 53:27Speaker 3: Want he's like twenties. Blonde it was the dating.
- 53:33Speaker 1: App sounds like if you were Asking, eddie what would
- 53:35Speaker 1: you want me to?
- 53:35Speaker 5: Do the same? Thing.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Fun he's. Crazy all, right we're, Done thank you guys
- 53:41Speaker 1: for being. HERE i think that'll do.
- 53:43Speaker 5: It eddie blow that?
