  [SPEAKER_01]: So Jerry's coming off a massive week for a win, traveling all the way to San Fran and beating

  [SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of good and a lot of not so good coming out of this game, which we'll get into, but yes, as your massive win for the team, going all the way to the bay and beating the, you know, at the time, undefeated 49ers that had just got Brock Hardy back from injury.

  [SPEAKER_01]: I think a lot went into this win at all phases, and while it's impossible to complain about a win in the NFL, there's definitely some concerns to highlight, heading into the most of the night battle with the Chiefs.

  [SPEAKER_01]: So I want to talk about the good and the not so good as like a Yin and Yang, if you will, where I'll talk about the numbers and play from all three phases and highlight some pauses and negatives from each phase coming out of the game.

  [SPEAKER_01]: because there's a lot to talk about when crunching the numbers.

  [SPEAKER_01]: So real quick, just before getting into individual units, the penalties really continue to weigh this team down.

  [SPEAKER_01]: 12 except the penalties in the gaming scenarios is insane.

  [SPEAKER_01]: It's really a miracle that you can win a game with that many to be honest.

  [SPEAKER_01]: As of right now, the jugs are averaging 9.5 penalties except that a game.

  [SPEAKER_01]: which is worse than the NFL.

  [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I mean, it's got to stop.

  [SPEAKER_01]: I think I can speak for the entire fan base when I say that if I see another a legal shift penalty, I'm going to punch a hole through my wall.

  [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, the penalty issue has not been limited to any single phase and the whole team I struggle with it, but it needs to be cleaned up.

  [SPEAKER_01]: So to start off with some of the negatives and offense in this game, the jerks were 414 on 3rd down, which is average of about 29% which is shockingly bad, you know, that puts them at 35% on the season, which 25th of the NFL, which, yeah, I mean, not good.

  [SPEAKER_01]: They're down to seemingly been an issue for years now, and it has not improved yet, under Liam Cohen.

  [SPEAKER_01]: And I think a lock can be pointed to as to why this is the case.

  [SPEAKER_01]: For me, I think one of the biggest reasons, at least looking at last game was the play calling approach, especially in the second half, it was way too often.

  [SPEAKER_01]: We were starting our drives with like two straight passes that either, you know, were incompletions or weren't executed or were short completions that left us with third downs that then we're just completely poorly executed.

  [SPEAKER_01]: I hate how it feels like there's points to the game where we just.

  [SPEAKER_01]: kind of stop running the ball, I mean, you tend to have to combine 23 carries, which to me, in my opinion, is enough, especially when you have a lead, the entire game.

  [SPEAKER_01]: But let's that offensive line and you're, you know, two, at really three talented backs, work that defense down.

  [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, I mean, speaking of the run game, that brings us to the positives, which was Travis ETN, the very impressive game, running the ball again.

  [SPEAKER_01]: He was 19 for 124 yards, which I was just a six-nafocary, and that puts in that 6.1,

  [SPEAKER_01]: George precarry through the first four games, which was great.

  [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's great to see him really have a resurgence under this new regime so far.

  [SPEAKER_01]: He also obviously broke that 48 yard touchdown, which was just perfectly executed all around.

  [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he was barely touched the entire run, which is really a testament to the run blocking, which has been pretty great over here.

  [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I would have liked to see two and a little more, but I mean, you can't complain in about about that game running the ball, and that brings us to our last positive for the offense, which I want to give a little love to, which was Brian Thomas Jr.

  [SPEAKER_01]: He had the five catches for 50 yards on seven targets, which

  [SPEAKER_01]: You know, isn't going to blow you away in the statue, but if you watch him, you know, watch him in that game.

  [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we caught the ball.

  [SPEAKER_01]: We're not one on third down, we didn't get his foot down, but he was good run-bocking.

  [SPEAKER_01]: So it's definitely promising for him after that, you know, really, really, really rough start to the year.

  [SPEAKER_01]: And that brings us to the defense, which, wow, I mean, four turnovers forced, that puts us at 13 on the season, which is more than the 2017 defense had in the first word games, which is crazy.

  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, it's unbelievable the way Coach Campice is guys flying around.

  [SPEAKER_01]: And everyone has a nose for the ball, seemingly, you know, the job that he's done with these guys has been incredible.

  [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, really, it's been awesome to watch.

  [SPEAKER_01]: He was very good in the past game, but to pretty much completely take away him and the run game and make him a non-factor was obviously extremely impressive and I mean who knows without him would have been if Sanford had any kind of run game so that's definitely a positive coming out.

  [SPEAKER_01]: And then, if I had to look at negatives, there really aren't any, I mean, I guess if I had to pick, I could say pressure rate, you know, the front wasn't amazing, getting to pretty.

  [SPEAKER_01]: Hands-on was six, arms stay with five, which is an awful, obviously.

  [SPEAKER_01]: But am I opinion you'd like to see more?

  [SPEAKER_01]: I think the Trayvon Walker injury really affected that.

  [SPEAKER_01]: As of right now, there's no news on him, but he needs to be healthy for this defense to succeed.

  [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I mean, only the one sack on the day, although it was the play of the game, with the arm-stred, arm-stred, excuse me, strip sack, to end it, you know, to give a jack's the ball back and on the game.

  [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean the Niners have a good offensive line to it showed it is what it is We won the game so Can't really look at that as a negative, but yeah, and then uh

  [SPEAKER_01]: Looking at special teams, we've had our struggles on special teams this season, which at least to me, has come as kind of a shock.

  [SPEAKER_01]: I thought going into this season, we had maybe the best specials unit in the entire league.

  [SPEAKER_01]: And I think we probably still do to be honest with you, but you had definitely some uncharacteristic play in these first four games.

  [SPEAKER_01]: against the Niners, Kim Little missed his second kick of the year.

  [SPEAKER_01]: He's three for five, 60% on the season, on kicks within 40 to 50 yards, which isn't great.

  [SPEAKER_01]: I will say, on Sunday against San Francisco, there was a lot of wind.

  [SPEAKER_01]: which absolutely played a role in the mess, and even, I mean, if you look, I think it was the first quarter, we punted when we were definitely in his range.

  [SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, the coaching staff was obviously aware of that wind.

  [SPEAKER_01]: He missed the kick, we won the game, you know, it is, what it is, I know he'll be good, you know, but it is definitely worth noting that miss, which was in a, you know, was a very crucial part of the game on Sunday, um, and then the other side of those special teams made the return game was amazing, uh, Parker Washington,

  [SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, he had his second career, part-time touchdown, and it came at an amazing time.

  [SPEAKER_01]: And then, even on Kick-A, on facial two, and had the 54-yard kick-off return.

  [SPEAKER_01]: at the end of the half, but then set the offense up, which was obviously massive as well.

  [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, you know, the jacks to the three and one with the chiefs up coming, I'm undenight.
