- 1:13Speaker 4: And you might luck out and win a valuable weekly prize.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Here are the games this week. Our tiebreaker is in Bloomington.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Whoever thought Bloomington, Indiana, would be the center of college football.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Ohio State, Indiana. Brenneman-Rutter, we just talked about that one
- 1:32Speaker 1: on the high school report. College Station and Hendrickson. Florida
- 1:37Speaker 1: at Texas. Missouri at Ole Miss. Notre Dame at BYU. Kansas,
- 1:44Speaker 1: Kansas State, UNLV Air Force, the Texans, and the Jaguars,
- 1:52Speaker 1: and the Cowboys, and the Packers. Those are our 10 games,
- 1:58Speaker 1: week seven. You have between now and 5 o'clock Friday
- 2:04Speaker 1: to make your picks.
- 2:07Speaker 5: Do it.
- 2:08Speaker 4: Don't delay. Friday's Spiritless Football Forecast Contest.
- 2:12Speaker 1: America's Most Loved Football Pickup Contest, a division of Sports Talk,
- 2:16Speaker 1: and presented by Chad Jones Law and Zwirneman Flooring. Coming up,
- 2:24Speaker 1: we're going to hear from Mike Elko, part of his
- 2:28Speaker 1: conference yesterday. I will remind you that I want to
- 2:35Speaker 1: repeat this because it was too good not to. Eli Drinkwitz,
- 2:40Speaker 1: Missouri coach, was asked again about Abad Hardy, the All-American
- 2:45Speaker 1: running back who has not played this year, suffered a
- 2:48Speaker 1: gunshot wound in the summertime. Said Drinkwitz, laughingly, it might
- 2:56Speaker 1: be reported, contrary to what's on the cesspool of message boards,
- 3:03Speaker 1: there's no update.
- 3:05Speaker 4: He hasn't begun a two-week ramp-up.
- 3:08Speaker 1: If he practices, I promise I'll tweet it out. I
- 3:12Speaker 1: won't even get it to Pete Thamel. We'll just do
- 3:15Speaker 1: it ourselves. One of the great quotes of the year.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I've got to say, one of the great quotes of
- 3:26Speaker 1: the year. I don't, you know, my guess is only
- 3:32Speaker 1: coaches that have a relationship with with Coach Elko will
- 3:36Speaker 1: make that reference. That's just my guess. My guess is
- 3:44Speaker 1: you won't hear Sarkeesian make that reference. Because as we
- 3:49Speaker 1: mentioned yesterday, there's one game left on this team's schedule
- 3:55Speaker 1: this year.
- 3:57Speaker 4: And we all know which one it is. Kamario Taylor
- 4:01Speaker 4: is hurt.
- 4:01Speaker 1: That's bad for Mississippi State.
- 4:03Speaker 4: That's bad for us. This kid was fun to watch.
- 4:06Speaker 1: He was being mentioned as a possible Heisman candidate early
- 4:10Speaker 1: in the year. But he hurt his foot in the
- 4:14Speaker 1: win against Missouri September 27th. And tried to play through
- 4:25Speaker 1: it against Alabama. Went to the locker room after that.
- 4:30Speaker 1: And Jeff Levy says, wait until the Wednesday injury update
- 4:36Speaker 1: to see about his availability. That's never good. And if
- 4:48Speaker 1: you watched Oregon and UCLA, defensive tackle Bear Alexander took
- 4:57Speaker 1: down UCLA quarterback Nikoi Maliava. Should have had 15 yards.
- 5:04Speaker 1: He was tackled during a second quarter scramble. Replay showed
- 5:09Speaker 1: Alexander twist the quarterback's helmet and swing his right arm,
- 5:15Speaker 1: which struck him on the chin. Dan Levin says he's
- 5:19Speaker 1: not going to be disciplined because he was just trying
- 5:24Speaker 1: to punch the ball out. So apparently, Alexander.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Had a hard time distinguishing between the football and Imali
- 5:36Speaker 1: Ava's head. Imali Ava suffered a knee injury on the play,
- 5:44Speaker 1: and some reports indicate he is done for the season.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Bob Chesney, the UCLA coach, didn't see it live, but
- 5:53Speaker 1: he said when you see it, it's certainly egregious. It
- 5:56Speaker 1: shouldn't be a play that's allowed to occur.
- 5:59Speaker 4: In this sport, and it's a shame.
- 6:01Speaker 1: That it was missed by the officials, who also missed
- 6:04Speaker 1: a couple other things in that game, and were put
- 6:07Speaker 1: on double secret probation.
- 6:12Speaker 4: By the Big Ten.
- 6:16Speaker 1: You know, in the first hour, I think I called
- 6:18Speaker 1: it the Pac-12 again because I still can't get used
- 6:21Speaker 1: to Oregon and UCLA being in the Big Ten. It's
- 6:26Speaker 1: just not right. It's just not right. College football tonight, Delaware,
- 6:33Speaker 1: Middle Tennessee, Florida International, and Jacksonville State. Baseball tonight, playoff baseball,
- 6:40Speaker 1: Guardians and Rays. The Guardians came from behind last night,
- 6:46Speaker 1: which isn't easy to do against the Rays. They were
- 6:48Speaker 1: down 2-0, had a couple of solo home runs to
- 6:51Speaker 1: tie it, then a big inning. They lead that series
- 6:54Speaker 1: one game to none. The Dodgers and the Brewers go
- 6:59Speaker 1: back to L.A. with the Brewers leading the two-time defending champs.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Two games to none.
- 7:08Speaker 1: The SEC media basketball day started today, will end tomorrow.
- 7:14Speaker 1: This isn't a four-day deal like they do in football.
- 7:18Speaker 4: And the LSU... teams didn't make it.
- 7:22Speaker 1: They said it was due to weather, a ground stop
- 7:25Speaker 1: with fog in Baton Rouge. We also learned that LSU recruit,
- 7:35Speaker 1: quote unquote, LJ Lewis Jr. is not on the roster.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Will Wade said that today to the media. There was
- 7:44Speaker 1: a judge's order that would allow him to be on
- 7:46Speaker 1: the roster, but obviously he the SEC and LSU and
- 7:51Speaker 1: the rest of the league have reached some, quote, agreements.
- 7:56Speaker 1: As far as we know, right now, with the season
- 8:03Speaker 1: starting next month, and again, there's probably more than this,
- 8:10Speaker 1: but outside people think there are four players on the
- 8:14Speaker 1: LSU basketball roster right now. Man, those guys are going
- 8:18Speaker 1: to be tired. When the season's over, I'm just saying
- 8:25Speaker 1: they're gonna be tired when the season's over and frozen frenzy.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Is that what it's called? Frozen frenzy.
- 8:33Speaker 7: It's called frozen frenzy.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Okay.
- 8:35Speaker 1: All 16 NHL teams are in action today. Uh, they're
- 8:39Speaker 1: starting right now. The devils. And I just saw who
- 8:44Speaker 1: they're skating against. I'll see it in a minute. Uh,
- 8:48Speaker 1: Following this game are going to be the Stars and
- 8:52Speaker 1: the Avalanche.
- 8:53Speaker 7: Devils and Red Wings.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Okay, Devils, Red Wings. Stars and Avalanche will follow.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I think there's even two other games after that on ESPN,
- 9:02Speaker 1: right to midnight past, or just one other game after
- 9:06Speaker 1: the Stars and Avalanche. Maybe just one more after that.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Bruins, Sharks. That's game three?
- 9:14Speaker 8: Yes, sir.
- 9:14Speaker 1: All the other 13 games are on ESPN +. So
- 9:21Speaker 1: you have to pay for them. And you actually have
- 9:23Speaker 1: to pay to see the Dallas Stars this year, unfortunately,
- 9:26Speaker 1: with the demise of the regional network.
- 9:29Speaker 4: They're on Prime, Amazon Prime.
- 9:33Speaker 1: So we got that going. Now, I promised you this,
- 9:39Speaker 1: and I know you've been waiting for this. So I
- 9:42Speaker 1: want to deliver this. on my promises. And that is
- 9:47Speaker 1: a little bit of information on A & M' s opponent,
- 9:53Speaker 1: the Citadel.
- 9:54Speaker 4: They haven't really been talked about too much. Okay? We learned.
- 10:00Speaker 1: yesterday, and we'll hear from Mike Elko. I'll tell you what.
- 10:05Speaker 1: That's a tease. He's going to tell you, why are
- 10:09Speaker 1: you playing the Citadel? And there's a reason for it.
- 10:13Speaker 1: And so you'll listen to that. We're going to play
- 10:15Speaker 1: Coach Elko here in just a little bit. They are coached.
- 10:20Speaker 1: by former Bulldog football player Maurice Drayton, who had a
- 10:27Speaker 1: couple of stints in the NFL. He was an assistant
- 10:35Speaker 1: special teams coordinator for the Raiders, special teams with the Packers,
- 10:42Speaker 1: special teams with the Indianapolis Colts. So, He was hired
- 10:52Speaker 1: in December of 2022. This is his fourth season with
- 11:00Speaker 1: the Bulldogs, okay? He's the coach. As we let it
- 11:05Speaker 1: slip earlier in the show, the Citadel is in the
- 11:10Speaker 1: Southern Conference, the SOCON, as we like to call it.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Who else is in the Southern Conference? East Tennessee State,
- 11:20Speaker 1: they're 3-0 in the league. Tennessee Tech, 3-1 in the league.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Tied with Chattanooga, 3-1 in the league. Mercer is 2-1.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Wofford is 2-2. Western Carolina and Furman and Samford are 1-2.
- 11:41Speaker 1: The Citadel, hey, that's where Bucky coached. The Citadel, 0-3.
- 11:47Speaker 4: VMI, their fierce rival, is 0-2.
- 11:52Speaker 1: The Citadel opened the season with a loss at Wofford, 42-14.
- 12:02Speaker 1: They won a nail-biter at Charlotte, 43-41 in triple overtime.
- 12:11Speaker 1: So if you're the Aggies, you don't want to go
- 12:13Speaker 1: to triple overtime against the Bulldogs Saturday. Charleston Southern, at home,
- 12:23Speaker 1: they lost.
- 12:24Speaker 4: In two overtimes, 26-20.
- 12:28Speaker 1: They're probably exhausted from the week before playing three overtimes.
- 12:34Speaker 1: They lost at home to Chattanooga, 27-8. And they lost
- 12:43Speaker 1: their third straight home game to East Tennessee State 34-16.
- 12:53Speaker 1: After coming to College Station, they go back to Charleston
- 12:58Speaker 1: for a home game against Tennessee Tech. Now, I learned
- 13:07Speaker 1: that Drayton has orchestrated amidst strides for the program. ending
- 13:15Speaker 1: his third campaign holding claim to back-to-back silver Shaco wins
- 13:24Speaker 1: against VMI. Coming from a 24-7 deficit with 28 unanswered
- 13:33Speaker 1: points in the 81st military classic of the South. So
- 13:42Speaker 1: you beat your rival. You can lose a few conference games, right?
- 13:49Speaker 1: And they have been able to beat VMI. Luckily for them,
- 13:58Speaker 1: this year, VMI right now is 0-6. So the Citadel
- 14:06Speaker 1: could be in decent shape To once again knock out
- 14:12Speaker 1: their rival at the.
- 14:14Speaker 4: End of the year. And let me see. I've got that.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Oh, I didn't put that third page of the schedule.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Would you bring that up? It's either. When do they
- 14:28Speaker 4: play VMI? November 14th at 11 a.m. And where is
- 14:32Speaker 4: that game this year? At VMI. Okay. So they're going
- 14:37Speaker 4: to have to go on the road to win that.
- 14:40Speaker 4: What did I say?
- 14:42Speaker 1: The Silver Shaco. That's the trophy. Would you look up
- 14:50Speaker 1: Silver Shaco? We need to get a picture of that
- 14:53Speaker 1: trophy that the Bulldogs play for each year against VMI,
- 14:58Speaker 1: the Military Academy. So that's who's coming to town Saturday
- 15:03Speaker 1: at high noon. I know you guys were wondering about that.
- 15:13Speaker 4: Oh, there it is. Good-looking trophy. Silver trophy.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Which, if it's going to have silver in the name,
- 15:20Speaker 1: the trophy needs to be silver. And that's a pretty
- 15:25Speaker 1: good trophy right there.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Beaten up.
- 15:30Speaker 1: You like the trophy with a little character on it, right?
- 15:33Speaker 4: Okay. So, there you go.
- 15:37Speaker 9: Okay.
- 15:37Speaker 5: Okay.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Let's do this. Mike Elko met with the media yesterday.
- 15:45Speaker 1: We carried a little part of it because I wanted
- 15:47Speaker 1: you to hear his exact words concerning cesspool gate. And again,
- 15:56Speaker 1: listen closely to Coach Elko when he explains how is
- 16:01Speaker 1: it that the Citadel is coming to College Station Saturday.
- 16:05Speaker 10: Mike, how do you balance... maybe playing more veterans, kind
- 16:09Speaker 10: of going for still trying to accomplish things this season,
- 16:12Speaker 10: and then maybe saying, hey, let's build for the future,
- 16:15Speaker 10: play more young guys, even if they're maybe not the
- 16:17Speaker 10: best option right now?
- 16:18Speaker 9: Yeah, I don't think it's ever fair to your program
- 16:22Speaker 9: to think like that. I think you have to do
- 16:24Speaker 9: what you think is right to win on Saturday. And
- 16:28Speaker 9: I think in some instances that has been young guys
- 16:31Speaker 9: getting more opportunities because of we think that's the right
- 16:35Speaker 9: thing to give us the best chance on Saturday. Whether
- 16:39Speaker 9: that's KJ, whether that's Aaron Gregory, you saw Bryce Perry
- 16:43Speaker 9: write a little bit more on Saturday. You saw Tamarian Watkins,
- 16:46Speaker 9: Chance Collins. There are some young freshmen that are earning
- 16:50Speaker 9: their opportunities to play, and so you're seeing that. Jaden
- 16:53Speaker 9: Warren had a catch yesterday. But I don't think you're
- 16:58Speaker 9: ever saying, you know, I think this older kid gives
- 17:00Speaker 9: us the best chance to win Saturday, but I'm not
- 17:03Speaker 9: going to do that because that's not the best thing
- 17:06Speaker 9: for the future. That's not a mindset that I think
- 17:09Speaker 9: is the right mindset for your program.
- 17:11Speaker 10: How do you balance kind of the motivation of, like,
- 17:14Speaker 10: you know, the last two years, every game counted, every
- 17:17Speaker 10: game was, you know, you could have still made the playoff,
- 17:20Speaker 10: and maybe at this point, not sure if you were eliminated,
- 17:23Speaker 10: but might be? How do you kind of approach still
- 17:26Speaker 10: motivating your guys?
- 17:27Speaker 9: Yeah, our focus right now is just getting better. Our
- 17:31Speaker 9: kids want to put a better product on the field.
- 17:33Speaker 9: Our fans deserve a better product on the field. The
- 17:36Speaker 9: only thing that we can focus on right now is
- 17:38Speaker 9: getting better. None of those big picture conversations can be
- 17:41Speaker 9: part of our equation. It's all about daily improvement and
- 17:45Speaker 9: trying to get to a product on the field that
- 17:47Speaker 9: is more representative of what we think Texas A &
- 17:50Speaker 9: M football should look like.
- 17:51Speaker 11: We'll go back over to the left first row, Robert.
- 17:54Speaker 12: Mike, you're 1-3 in conference play. It's uncharted territory as
- 17:58Speaker 12: head coach. My one wondering is you, is there a
- 18:01Speaker 12: former coach you dealt with or a peer? Who do
- 18:04Speaker 12: you lean on in situations like this?
- 18:06Speaker 9: Yeah, I have a group of people that I think
- 18:09Speaker 9: are there to support me. I've had a lot of
- 18:11Speaker 9: people reach out to me over the last couple weeks.
- 18:15Speaker 9: At the end of the day, and I've said this
- 18:17Speaker 9: to a lot of people, like The weight that I
- 18:21Speaker 9: carry is for these kids and these coaches to have
- 18:24Speaker 9: the success that they deserve for the amount of time
- 18:26Speaker 9: and energy they're putting into this thing. That's what I
- 18:28Speaker 9: told the team after the game. When it doesn't go
- 18:31Speaker 9: the way you hope or want or expect it to go,
- 18:34Speaker 9: it was no different when we were winning. The emotions
- 18:36Speaker 9: were more joy for the players, so too is the pain,
- 18:39Speaker 9: more pain for the players because you know what they experience,
- 18:43Speaker 9: you know what they put into this, you know the
- 18:45Speaker 9: work that they're giving you, and to not be able
- 18:48Speaker 9: to find a way to creatively create create success for
- 18:51Speaker 9: them like that's what eats at you as a coach
- 18:53Speaker 9: and so but no I have a group of people
- 18:57Speaker 9: that I rely on that I reach out to and
- 18:59Speaker 9: certainly are there to support me and help me and
- 19:01Speaker 9: guide me through things.
- 19:03Speaker 11: We'll go all the way to the back left Nick.
- 19:06Speaker 6: Hey Mike now half of the season how would you
- 19:08Speaker 6: assess the job that Lyle and Holman have done so far?
- 19:12Speaker 9: Again we do all of our coaching evaluations internally and
- 19:15Speaker 9: so those are things that we'll just keep internally.
- 19:17Speaker 13: In our building.
- 19:18Speaker 6: After the game, I know you mentioned a lack of
- 19:20Speaker 6: separation for the receivers. Is that something that surprised you
- 19:23Speaker 6: with how good you thought this group would be this year,
- 19:26Speaker 6: and how does that get cleaned up and fixed?
- 19:27Speaker 9: Yeah, I think by and large our ineffectiveness in the
- 19:31Speaker 9: past game has probably been the biggest surprise of the season,
- 19:37Speaker 9: and that's probably a huge understatement. It gets fixed with work.
- 19:43Speaker 9: It gets fixed with practice. It gets fixed with detailing
- 19:45Speaker 9: our route running. putting pace and tempo into our route running.
- 19:49Speaker 9: It gets fast. with delivering the ball accurately and on
- 19:52Speaker 9: time where it's supposed to go. And it gets fixed
- 19:54Speaker 9: with cleaning up the pockets in ways that allow all
- 19:58Speaker 9: of that timing to work the right way. What you
- 20:03Speaker 9: see on the practice field is not what you're seeing
- 20:06Speaker 9: in the game. And that's the biggest... dilemma that we're
- 20:11Speaker 9: fighting and dealing with right now.
- 20:13Speaker 11: We'll go back over to the left third row. Howdy coach.
- 20:16Speaker 14: You've talked a lot about confidence recently.
- 20:18Speaker 15: What is one area in practice that you are that
- 20:20Speaker 15: is giving you confidence going to this next week?
- 20:23Speaker 8: What is changing that's giving you hope?
- 20:25Speaker 9: Yeah, I think the biggest confidence I take is, and again,
- 20:29Speaker 9: I've been part of bad seasons where things splinter and
- 20:35Speaker 9: fracture and the locker room gets divided and the offense
- 20:39Speaker 9: and the defense are fighting or the wide receivers and
- 20:42Speaker 9: the quarterback are fighting or the staff is pulling apart
- 20:45Speaker 9: from each other or people are working less hard as
- 20:49Speaker 9: the season goes on. What gives me confidence is that
- 20:52Speaker 9: none of that is happening. What gives me confidence is that,
- 20:55Speaker 9: you know, for the most part, our kids are showing
- 20:59Speaker 9: up in the right frame of mind and the right
- 21:00Speaker 9: mindset and to go to work are there some exceptions
- 21:04Speaker 9: of course are there some kids that need to be
- 21:05Speaker 9: prodded more yeah of course but by and large the
- 21:09Speaker 9: the group is clinging together through challenging times the way
- 21:13Speaker 9: you would hope to give you an opportunity to come
- 21:16Speaker 9: out of it again that's the biggest thing that i
- 21:18Speaker 9: keep drawing back to with them is is the only
- 21:21Speaker 9: way out is through and the only way you get
- 21:23Speaker 9: through is to get through together that's all you can
- 21:25Speaker 9: do in situations like this we'll go.
- 21:28Speaker 15: Over to the second row on the right peter Just
- 21:31Speaker 15: to clarify and make sure, when exactly did you give
- 21:34Speaker 15: up play calling duties?
- 21:36Speaker 9: After the LSU game.
- 21:38Speaker 15: And on Saturday you said Mario was battling things. Does
- 21:41Speaker 15: that mean he has multiple injuries or is it just
- 21:44Speaker 15: one that's afflicting him right now?
- 21:45Speaker 9: He's got a couple injuries that he's battling through.
- 21:49Speaker 15: And have those all come in games or have they
- 21:50Speaker 15: come in practices?
- 21:51Speaker 6: No, all in games.
- 21:53Speaker 15: How do you balance, you know, with a guy like Mario,
- 21:56Speaker 15: you know, great player, potential All-SEC guy, you know, keeping
- 22:01Speaker 15: him healthy keeping him and having his value to the
- 22:04Speaker 15: offense while dealing with all the other struggles the team
- 22:07Speaker 15: is facing on that end as well um.
- 22:11Speaker 9: I don't know that the two things correlate together I
- 22:13Speaker 9: think um you know Mario is a kid that we
- 22:16Speaker 9: rely on um to whatever degree we can utilize Mario
- 22:20Speaker 9: in games is the degree that we're going to utilize
- 22:22Speaker 9: him in games um I think that doesn't Regardless of
- 22:25Speaker 9: whether we're having success or struggling, we're going to try
- 22:27Speaker 9: to get Mario on the field as much as Mario
- 22:29Speaker 9: is physically capable of being on the field.
- 22:35Speaker 15: You've given up play calling duties. You said a week
- 22:37Speaker 15: or two ago you guys switched up some of the
- 22:39Speaker 15: practice stuff for a lot more best-on-best. What other changes
- 22:41Speaker 15: have already been made to try to fix this?
- 22:45Speaker 9: I think probably a lot of strategic changes have been
- 22:51Speaker 9: made to the way we've tried to attack offense. on offense. Um, again,
- 22:56Speaker 9: the result is, is the same. And so you don't
- 22:58Speaker 9: see the changes. Um, but I do, you know, we
- 23:03Speaker 9: are not just doing the same thing over and over again. Um,
- 23:06Speaker 9: the results are the same. And so sometimes when the
- 23:09Speaker 9: results are the same, it appears as though the effort
- 23:11Speaker 9: and the opportunity and what you're trying to do is
- 23:13Speaker 9: the same.
- 23:14Speaker 11: It's not.
- 23:15Speaker 9: And so again, we'll continue to go back to the
- 23:17Speaker 9: drawing board and try to figure out what the right
- 23:20Speaker 9: formula is to find success.
- 23:22Speaker 11: We'll go to the back right, Landon. Howdy, Coach.
- 23:25Speaker 16: You mentioned staying ahead of the sticks and keeping your
- 23:28Speaker 16: offense in good downs. The running game really struggled on Saturday.
- 23:31Speaker 16: After watching the film, what was your biggest concern from
- 23:34Speaker 16: the rushing attack, and what are you looking to fix
- 23:36Speaker 16: within that group?
- 23:37Speaker 9: Yeah, I think it was a couple things. I think, one,
- 23:40Speaker 9: we physically lost more than we should. I don't think
- 23:44Speaker 9: we performed physically as well as we're capable of. There
- 23:49Speaker 9: were some targeting issues that we had that we've got
- 23:51Speaker 9: to get cleaned up in terms of points and where
- 23:53Speaker 9: we were going in some of our targeting. And then
- 23:56Speaker 9: there were too many penalties. There were three penalties on
- 23:59Speaker 9: run plays. And it doesn't seem like a big deal
- 24:04Speaker 9: on a three-yard play, but it's a huge deal when
- 24:06Speaker 9: you have second and seven versus first and 20. And
- 24:09Speaker 9: that happened on three separate occasions in the first half.
- 24:11Speaker 9: And so when you're trying to find rhythm and you're
- 24:14Speaker 9: trying to overcome struggles and Those are the things that
- 24:18Speaker 9: make it almost overwhelming at times because we have to
- 24:24Speaker 9: start having success, we have to create confidence, and we
- 24:28Speaker 9: have to be able to do that by continuing to
- 24:30Speaker 9: push things forward, and those setbacks are causing massive problems.
- 24:34Speaker 11: We'll go back over to Matthew on the left, third row.
- 24:37Speaker 13: Coach, against Mizzou, the defense created opportunities, but the offense
- 24:40Speaker 13: struggled to capitalize. Going forward, how important is it for
- 24:43Speaker 13: the offense to convert takeaways and favorable field position into
- 24:46Speaker 13: touchdowns rather than settling for field goals or just coming
- 24:48Speaker 13: away empty-handed?
- 24:49Speaker 9: Yeah, I think it's really important. I think, again, it's
- 24:52Speaker 9: part of the formula, right? And if you look at
- 24:53Speaker 9: the game... you know, we did a really poor job
- 24:56Speaker 9: on third down conversions. We did a really poor job
- 24:58Speaker 9: scoring touchdowns in the red zone. And those two factors
- 25:02Speaker 9: are why the offense looks the way it looks. And so,
- 25:06Speaker 9: you know, I thought we had an opportunity to kind
- 25:08Speaker 9: of seize momentum twice. I thought we had a chance
- 25:11Speaker 9: off of the turnover. I also thought we had a chance.
- 25:12Speaker 9: We got a three and out on defense and they
- 25:15Speaker 9: hit a bad punt and we started in plus field
- 25:16Speaker 9: position and weren't able to capitalize on that one either.
- 25:20Speaker 9: And so I thought there were a couple opportunities early
- 25:22Speaker 9: in the game to create momentum and we just weren't
- 25:25Speaker 9: able to do it.
- 25:27Speaker 11: We'll go back over to Alex. Second row on the left.
- 25:29Speaker 17: Talked earlier about young guys getting opportunities. Sam Roseborough had
- 25:32Speaker 17: quite a few snaps on Saturday. Just what was kind
- 25:35Speaker 17: of what y'all liked about trying to give him a
- 25:37Speaker 17: shot there at guard?
- 25:38Speaker 9: Yeah, same thing. Just, you know, he continues to practice hard.
- 25:41Speaker 9: I think he gives us an opportunity from a physicality standpoint.
- 25:43Speaker 9: He's continued to grow and get better. And so we
- 25:47Speaker 9: felt like it was the right opportunity. You know, Trost
- 25:50Speaker 9: banked up and We wanted to give him a shot
- 25:53Speaker 9: and see what it would look like with him out there.
- 25:54Speaker 11: We're going to go back all the way in the
- 25:58Speaker 11: back to Nick.
- 26:02Speaker 6: Hey, Mike, I did want to ask about you guys
- 26:04Speaker 6: playing Citadel and considering that you got one of your
- 26:06Speaker 6: biggest starts of your career at a federal service academy.
- 26:09Speaker 6: Are you thinking about that at all going into this game?
- 26:12Speaker 18: No, not really.
- 26:13Speaker 9: I think more than that, the athletic director at the Citadel,
- 26:17Speaker 9: Art Chase, was the football athletic director that hired me
- 26:19Speaker 9: at Duke. And so that's probably more the connection that
- 26:22Speaker 9: created this opportunity. And so a ton of respect for
- 26:25Speaker 9: Art and who he is and his family and the
- 26:28Speaker 9: job they do. And so I think when the opportunity
- 26:30Speaker 9: came up to play, it was something that was a
- 26:33Speaker 9: pretty cool opportunity.
- 26:33Speaker 11: All right.
- 26:36Speaker 8: One more, Alex.
- 26:38Speaker 17: Well, just speaking of that, just what was your relationship
- 26:41Speaker 17: like with Art and just, you know, I guess just.
- 26:46Speaker 19: Along those.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Lines.
- 26:50Speaker 9: It was good. Art was the football AD. We talked
- 26:53Speaker 9: a lot.
- 26:53Speaker 4: He's a good guy.
- 26:56Speaker 8: All right. Anything else?
- 26:57Speaker 11: Thank you.
- 26:58Speaker 4: Awesome.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Thanks, guys.
- 26:59Speaker 20: All right.

- 31:09Speaker 1: Um man i i've got some bummer stories i we're
- 31:15Speaker 1: gonna get these out of the way first can.
- 31:17Speaker 4: We might as well why not.
- 31:20Speaker 1: And then we'll get on to the royals some happy
- 31:22Speaker 1: news uh well not really okay Hayden Panettiere's official cause
- 31:30Speaker 1: of death has been revealed. She died August 16th. She
- 31:36Speaker 1: was just 36 in South Carolina. Today, the Greenville County
- 31:41Speaker 1: Coroner's Office confirmed her death has been ruled as toxic
- 31:45Speaker 1: effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, alprazolam, methicarbinol, Quiet, Teopine. The manner
- 32:00Speaker 1: of death has ruled accidental. On August 16, 2026, at
- 32:07Speaker 1: approximately 1.51 p.m., a 911 call was received regarding a
- 32:11Speaker 1: reported cardiac arrest at 701 Easley Bridge Road in Greenville.
- 32:18Speaker 1: First responders and emergency medical services arrived on the scene,
- 32:22Speaker 1: located a female in cardiac arrest. EMS personnel initiated advanced
- 32:26Speaker 1: cardiac life support measures. However, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. The
- 32:32Speaker 1: individual was pronounced deceased at 2.32 p.m. The Greenville County
- 32:38Speaker 1: Coroner's Office responded to the scene, initiated a parallel investigation
- 32:42Speaker 1: with the Greenville City Police Department. The decedent has been
- 32:45Speaker 1: identified as Hayden Leslie Panettiere, 36, in California. She was
- 32:51Speaker 1: found unresponsive inside the residence where she had been temporarily staying.
- 32:56Speaker 1: An autopsy was completed by a board-certified forensic pathologist. An
- 33:02Speaker 1: autopsy showed no signs of trauma were discovered that would
- 33:07Speaker 1: have contributed to her death.
- 33:12Speaker 4: So there you go. Drugs. We knew that.
- 33:15Speaker 23: Right?
- 33:16Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 33:17Speaker 4: This is just a confirmation. That's a lot of stuff
- 33:20Speaker 4: in your system. It's sad.
- 33:22Speaker 8: That is a lot.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Very sad.
- 33:25Speaker 8: And I think, I mean, I don't know. Didn't they
- 33:29Speaker 8: arrest the drug, her drug dealer or anything like that?
- 33:31Speaker 5: No.
- 33:32Speaker 4: Her drug dealing boyfriend. That guy. Yeah.
- 33:38Speaker 8: What a mess.
- 33:39Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Then there is the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford.
- 33:46Speaker 8: That's right.
- 33:48Speaker 4: And her husband, Randy.
- 33:50Speaker 1: He died over the weekend at 27. Presley Gerber was
- 33:58Speaker 1: at a rehab facility, according to L.A. County Medical Records.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Crawford's publicist confirms his death, saying the family is asking
- 34:09Speaker 1: for privacy during this difficult and painful time. An autopsy
- 34:14Speaker 1: pending completion. The cause and manner of death has not
- 34:18Speaker 1: been released. Presley Gerber was the older brother of Kaya Gerber,
- 34:25Speaker 1: model and actress. Built his own career as a runway
- 34:31Speaker 1: star model. But apparently had just entered a rehab facility.
- 34:43Speaker 1: And was apparently under the influence when he.
- 34:49Speaker 4: Entered the rehab facility.
- 34:52Speaker 23: I feel like that detail is not that uncommon, I guess.
- 34:58Speaker 5: Right.
- 34:58Speaker 8: Unfortunately.
- 34:59Speaker 4: Right.
- 35:00Speaker 8: But.
- 35:01Speaker 1: But it seems like if you enter a rehab facility
- 35:07Speaker 1: under the influence so much that you die, they probably
- 35:13Speaker 1: should have called authorities sooner.
- 35:16Speaker 8: A little sooner.
- 35:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:18Speaker 23: Yeah.
- 35:18Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know about all this stuff, but
- 35:21Speaker 1: that's just a guess.
- 35:23Speaker 4: A total guess on my part.
- 35:25Speaker 8: You would think their specialty would be.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Yeah, knowing that someone is under the influence and is
- 35:32Speaker 1: in bad shape, right?
- 35:34Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 35:35Speaker 4: Do they not see that every day?
- 35:38Speaker 2: Right?
- 35:38Speaker 8: You would think so, but.
- 35:40Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 35:40Speaker 8: I mean, I digress.
- 35:42Speaker 4: You digress.
- 35:43Speaker 8: What can we do?
- 35:44Speaker 4: Okay, let's wash our ears out with the Royals.
- 35:48Speaker 8: Yes, let's do it.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Oh, Harry.
- 35:52Speaker 4: Harry, Harry.
- 35:54Speaker 8: Oh, Harry, he may have another royal documentary.
- 35:56Speaker 4: Up his sleeve. Good for him.
- 35:59Speaker 23: Apparently he's discussing a number of possible projects to commemorate.
- 36:03Speaker 8: I can never say this word.
- 36:05Speaker 5: Commemorate?
- 36:05Speaker 8: Commemorate.
- 36:11Speaker 23: It's so stupid i'm sorry okay uh the 30th anniversary
- 36:16Speaker 23: of his mother uh princess diana's death that's not stupid
- 36:19Speaker 23: don't you think don't you want to say simple words.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Charles is going to be very unhappy with anything having
- 36:26Speaker 1: to oh.
- 36:28Speaker 4: But you can't show it diana.
- 36:32Speaker 8: I mean, I'm sure, if not him, Camilla, but he
- 36:34Speaker 8: can't show it because, man, if anyone.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Because Princess Di was loved in England.
- 36:41Speaker 4: Not by Charles.
- 36:42Speaker 8: She was.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Not by Charles, but she was loved in England.
- 36:48Speaker 8: Exactly.
- 36:49Speaker 23: That's why so many people dislike Camilla because.
- 36:52Speaker 4: You know, womp womp. That tramp.
- 36:55Speaker 8: Anyways.
- 36:57Speaker 4: Oh, my God. Sorry. That just came out.
- 37:04Speaker 23: Anyways, it's the anniversary of his mother, Princess Diana's.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Death next year. A homely looking tramp at that. Sorry.
- 37:13Speaker 9: Sorry.
- 37:13Speaker 4: All my feelings are coming out.
- 37:16Speaker 8: We're not talking about her anymore.
- 37:17Speaker 4: We're talking about Diana. Let's talk about Diana.
- 37:19Speaker 8: Hmm. Let her have her moment.
- 37:22Speaker 4: Yes.
- 37:22Speaker 23: Which is weighing the most meaningful way to, so he's weighing,
- 37:26Speaker 23: he's still weighing the most meaningful way to, you know,
- 37:28Speaker 23: basically honor her legacy. Among the ideas to mark the
- 37:32Speaker 23: milestone is the possibility of making a documentary. The documentary
- 37:37Speaker 23: is expected to be bought.
- 37:38Speaker 4: By Netflix, of course, because every documentary.
- 37:42Speaker 8: Yeah, they got all that.
- 37:44Speaker 23: He did move back to Britain last month after six
- 37:46Speaker 23: years overseas.
- 37:47Speaker 4: Yes, he did.
- 37:48Speaker 8: It is no stranger to, to talking in front of cameras.
- 37:52Speaker 8: So shortly after.
- 37:53Speaker 23: Him and his wife did step away from their senior
- 37:55Speaker 23: roles as working royals in 2020.
- 37:57Speaker 4: Okay, that's an oxymoron.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Working royals is an oxymoron, but that's okay.
- 38:06Speaker 4: That's okay.
- 38:07Speaker 23: No, they work real hard on their walkabouts.
- 38:10Speaker 4: They did do walkabouts. I'll give you that. They did
- 38:13Speaker 4: do walkabouts. Yeah.
- 38:15Speaker 23: They use their own feats and they have to pretend
- 38:17Speaker 23: to smile and True, that's not easy.
- 38:19Speaker 4: That's not easy.
- 38:21Speaker 8: That's a lot of face muscles.
- 38:22Speaker 4: Yes, you're right.
- 38:23Speaker 23: I don't know.
- 38:24Speaker 4: You're right. You're right.
- 38:27Speaker 8: But anyways, so there is that.
- 38:30Speaker 23: There was obviously a lot of controversy with this documentary
- 38:33Speaker 23: from Netflix in 2022, which was titled Harry and Meghan,
- 38:39Speaker 23: and they explored the early days of their relationships, plus
- 38:41Speaker 23: their exit, basically. But because we don't have enough We
- 38:47Speaker 23: need more royal news. There's never enough.
- 38:50Speaker 8: Let's talk more.
- 38:52Speaker 23: Turns out Meghan is settling in life back in Great
- 38:56Speaker 23: Britain with some familiar faces.
- 38:58Speaker 4: By her side. I was afraid she wasn't going to
- 39:01Speaker 4: settle in.
- 39:03Speaker 8: Well, no worries. She is.
- 39:05Speaker 23: She's apparently had an afternoon outing at a pub with
- 39:09Speaker 23: Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi.
- 39:11Speaker 4: No way.
- 39:12Speaker 24: Rossi?
- 39:12Speaker 8: No way. Is that right?
- 39:14Speaker 23: Yep, at the Three Horseshoes, an 18th century pub near Buford, Oxfordshire,
- 39:20Speaker 23: at 2 p.m.
- 39:22Speaker 4: Local time. So they were doing happy hour at 2 o'clock.
- 39:27Speaker 8: Yep, they were.
- 39:28Speaker 23: The outing came as Meghan's husband, Harry, as we know,
- 39:32Speaker 23: stepped out in London for the Well Child Awards, his
- 39:35Speaker 23: latest public appearance since the couple did move back to
- 39:38Speaker 23: Britain with their children, Archie and Lily.
- 39:40Speaker 4: I bet this Charles are just fit to be tied,
- 39:43Speaker 4: don't you?
- 39:43Speaker 8: I mean, of course. He's so mad.
- 39:50Speaker 4: They're back over there. Hey, I got a question.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Why wasn't Meghan with Harry at this Wellchild Awards?
- 39:58Speaker 8: Well, you know, I don't know.
- 40:00Speaker 4: She was too.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Busy knocking back pints with Ellen and Portia.
- 40:06Speaker 23: Well, she has yet to attend an official public event.
- 40:09Speaker 4: That's probably for the best. She's not liked. She ain't
- 40:14Speaker 4: liked like Diana was, right? No, she will never.
- 40:18Speaker 8: Be a Diana.
- 40:19Speaker 5: No.
- 40:20Speaker 23: In the days after arriving in Britain, Meghan and Harry
- 40:23Speaker 23: were also spotted together at a Soho farmhouse in Oxfordshire.
- 40:27Speaker 8: Of course they were.
- 40:28Speaker 7: Oh, yes.
- 40:29Speaker 8: So there's that. They are.
- 40:31Speaker 23: They have been a longtime friends with Ellen and Portia,
- 40:35Speaker 23: who are neighbors of the couple.
- 40:38Speaker 8: So there you go.
- 40:40Speaker 1: OK.
- 40:41Speaker 8: Their friendship now stretches across both sides of the Atlantic.
- 40:44Speaker 8: As we know, Ellen and them did move away.
- 40:46Speaker 4: Oh, I didn't remember that.
- 40:49Speaker 23: Well, yeah, they moved away after Donald Trump became president again.
- 40:53Speaker 4: I hope they stay here.
- 40:56Speaker 8: Well, apparently they're living the dream.
- 40:58Speaker 4: And now they have Megan as a neighbor.
- 41:01Speaker 1: And they're all living happily ever after. That's just so beautiful.
- 41:06Speaker 23: And that is a wrap on our Royal Update.
- 41:10Speaker 4: That tired me out.
- 41:13Speaker 1: TMZ is reporting that Dolly traveled to Germany for an
- 41:17Speaker 1: experimental cancer treatment.
- 41:19Speaker 4: About a year before her death.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Sources say Dolly privately battled cancer during the final year
- 41:26Speaker 1: of her life and sought treatment overseas, flew to Frankfurt
- 41:31Speaker 1: on a private jet for the treatment. It's unclear what
- 41:35Speaker 1: was involved. She remained in Germany about a week before
- 41:40Speaker 1: coming home. She believed the treatment helped restore her strength
- 41:46Speaker 1: and felt that it had been effective. Um, Of course,
- 41:50Speaker 1: it was reported that after a brief battle with cancer,
- 41:55Speaker 1: she had died. So it depends what your definition of
- 41:58Speaker 1: brief is. I don't consider a year, you know, brief.
- 42:02Speaker 8: No, not at all.
- 42:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:07Speaker 8: Yeah, that's a hard year.
- 42:09Speaker 23: That's a long year.
- 42:10Speaker 4: Yeah, that is a long year.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Meanwhile, you knew this was going to happen and it
- 42:15Speaker 1: didn't take long. Dolly's nephew, Brian Seaver, has been fired
- 42:21Speaker 1: from providing security for his aunt's properties.
- 42:27Speaker 4: He was head of security.
- 42:29Speaker 1: Remember, he's the one that announced her death on September, right?
- 42:36Speaker 1: Last month and received a termination notice last Wednesday. stating
- 42:43Speaker 1: he and his companies were immediately dismissed. The letter reportedly
- 42:50Speaker 1: said Dolly's properties and business matters are controlled.
- 42:54Speaker 4: By the DP Dean.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Trust, clarified that Seaver's personal interest in the trust remains
- 43:03Speaker 1: the same. Replacement guards have already taken over her Nashville.
- 43:10Speaker 4: Homes, museum, and warehouse.
- 43:14Speaker 1: Seaver addressed the situation in a statement to TMZ saying
- 43:20Speaker 1: he and his teams were dismayed by the unexpected and
- 43:25Speaker 1: so far unexplained actions. Taken by the singer's longtime manager,
- 43:32Speaker 1: Danny Nozel and Pinnacle Bank, who oversees the trust. The
- 43:38Speaker 1: statement said they are overwhelmed by the outpouring of Parton's
- 43:44Speaker 1: love for Parton's legacy. We remain unshakably resolved to fulfill
- 43:49Speaker 1: our final directive to protect her family. We refuse to
- 43:53Speaker 1: be intimidated by those actions we believe are being taken
- 43:57Speaker 1: in bad faith. and with the intent to profit from
- 44:01Speaker 1: the life of someone who willingly gave so much.
- 44:04Speaker 4: So the battle is on.
- 44:08Speaker 1: And by the time they're done, the lawyers will be rich,
- 44:11Speaker 1: and there won't.
- 44:12Speaker 4: Be much left of Dolly's estate. Just saying. We've seen
- 44:18Speaker 4: this before. Have we not?
- 44:20Speaker 8: Yeah. Oh, we have.
- 44:22Speaker 5: Yep.
- 44:23Speaker 1: And I suspect, I suspect, Dolly had, and I'm just thinking,
- 44:32Speaker 1: Dolly had everything organized and it's pretty clear where she
- 44:36Speaker 1: wanted her money to go.
- 44:39Speaker 11: Probably.
- 44:40Speaker 8: I would assume so.
- 44:41Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 44:42Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 44:43Speaker 4: So the battle has been joined.
- 44:49Speaker 8: Sad. It's sad that it's already come to this.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 44:52Speaker 4: Not surprising.
- 44:53Speaker 23: I mean, we should just move on to some more
- 44:55Speaker 23: sad news.
- 44:56Speaker 4: Let's do it.
- 44:57Speaker 8: Or just, you know, air news.
- 44:59Speaker 23: Carrot Top, who is a name I haven't said in a.
- 45:01Speaker 4: Very long time. We haven't talked about the Top in
- 45:03Speaker 4: a while.
- 45:05Speaker 23: No, he was handed a $ 2 billion demand just days
- 45:09Speaker 23: before his attempted suicide. And within hours, his lawyers were
- 45:13Speaker 23: telling the court the comedian was being extorted.
- 45:17Speaker 4: Did we know that.
- 45:19Speaker 4: Carrot Top had a suicide attempt? I don't think we
- 45:22Speaker 4: actually said that yet. Did I miss this?
- 45:23Speaker 8: But yes, he did. I think it happened late last week.
- 45:27Speaker 4: I must have been out of the country.
- 45:28Speaker 23: If I had to guess, which I might say it here, honestly.
- 45:32Speaker 4: Okay.
- 45:32Speaker 23: So he, apparently, there was a pair of emails laying
- 45:35Speaker 23: out the heated legal battle that unfolded last Monday, four
- 45:38Speaker 23: days before Carrot Top was hospitalized.
- 45:40Speaker 8: So it was, again, late last week.
- 45:42Speaker 4: Okay.
- 45:43Speaker 23: And the first message, Brian Evans said, whom Carrot Top's
- 45:46Speaker 23: team has accused of extortion, proposed a $ 2 million deal
- 45:50Speaker 23: in the legal fight involving himself, Carrot Top, whose real
- 45:53Speaker 23: name is Scott Thompson, and several others. He said everyone
- 45:58Speaker 23: would drop their claims and keep the deal private, and
- 46:01Speaker 23: he even gave Carrot Top's team until Wednesday to accept.
- 46:06Speaker 23: Hours later, Carrot Top's attorney emailed an assistant for Florida
- 46:14Speaker 23: judge Shari, I can't even pretend like I'm going to
- 46:18Speaker 23: be able.
- 46:18Speaker 8: To say that last name.
- 46:20Speaker 23: Accusing Evans of waging a campaign of extortion. The attorney
- 46:23Speaker 23: claimed Evans was demanding millions or else he would file false, malicious,
- 46:27Speaker 23: and indecentary materials in the court record for the press
- 46:35Speaker 23: to pick up. He asked the court for immediate emergency relief,
- 46:38Speaker 23: accusing Evans of using extortion and blackmail to basically.
- 46:43Speaker 8: Oh, poor Topp.
- 46:45Speaker 23: Yeah. And so from what I've heard, just because just
- 46:47Speaker 23: a backpedal on that.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:49Speaker 8: So, yes, he did attend suicide.
- 46:52Speaker 23: I believe it was on Friday.
- 46:54Speaker 8: And I think he is awake now.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Do you know, I heard today our friend Brian told
- 47:02Speaker 1: me the top is worth upwards of 70 million dollars.
- 47:08Speaker 23: Yeah, I'm always confused by that, though.
- 47:10Speaker 4: Me too.
- 47:11Speaker 8: What does he do? I mean, good for you, but.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Yeah, apparently he has been very good with his money
- 47:20Speaker 1: and has made some wise business decisions. And, you know,
- 47:28Speaker 1: he's been in residency in Vegas for like 20-something years.
- 47:32Speaker 1: And that generally pays pretty well, even if you're carrot top.
- 47:38Speaker 15: Jeez.
- 47:39Speaker 4: So I was surprised by that, but.
- 47:41Speaker 23: Hey, I'm always surprised by his age too, which I
- 47:44Speaker 23: know it doesn't say his age, but I think he's,
- 47:47Speaker 23: he's older.
- 47:48Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 47:48Speaker 23: I think he's like 60 or something.
- 47:51Speaker 4: I could be wrong. Let me tell you something. No,
- 47:54Speaker 4: I just want this clear.
- 47:56Speaker 8: Okay.
- 47:56Speaker 4: When I 60.
- 47:57Speaker 8: Is not, I said that. Okay. Okay. That's not what
- 48:00Speaker 8: I meant. Let me be clear.
- 48:03Speaker 4: I just want to be clear about that.
- 48:05Speaker 23: 60 is young.
- 48:06Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 48:07Speaker 8: Still.
- 48:08Speaker 4: You're welcome. How about this story?
- 48:11Speaker 8: Please don't come after me.
- 48:13Speaker 1: You know, there's a new American horror story coming out next.
- 48:17Speaker 4: Week on FX.
- 48:19Speaker 8: I saw that.
- 48:20Speaker 4: And you know who's in it?
- 48:24Speaker 8: A lot of people are back.
- 48:25Speaker 1: Jessica Lange is going to play up to five characters.
- 48:31Speaker 1: But she had one condition for Ryan Murphy, the creator,
- 48:35Speaker 1: before agreeing to return to the hit anthology series that
- 48:41Speaker 1: started in 2011. Despite what Murphy said in a recent
- 48:45Speaker 1: interview about the 77-year-old requiring a musical number as part
- 48:52Speaker 1: of her return, Lang told Regis and Kelly, I guess
- 48:57Speaker 1: it's Kelly and Mark, that she only agreed to come
- 49:01Speaker 1: back if she got the opportunity to play all four
- 49:05Speaker 1: characters she previously led the series with.
- 49:09Speaker 9: Said Lang, who.
- 49:10Speaker 1: I love, by the way. I love me some Jessica Lang.
- 49:13Speaker 1: yeah ryan murphy taught me in a coming back she
- 49:17Speaker 1: said first he talked to me about playing season one's
- 49:20Speaker 1: character constance which i think was his favorite one that
- 49:24Speaker 1: i did i said i will come back if i
- 49:28Speaker 1: can do all four characters the nun said mark who
- 49:34Speaker 1: played Spivey opposite Lang on five episodes of season two. Yes,
- 49:40Speaker 1: from our season, yes, but not in the habit. She's
- 49:44Speaker 1: in the latter part of the season. She's institutionalized herself
- 49:48Speaker 1: when she's a patient there. Lang played the aforementioned Constance
- 49:54Speaker 1: and sister Jude Martin on seasons one and two before
- 49:57Speaker 1: returning as the powerful witch Fiona on 2013's Coven. The
- 50:03Speaker 1: circus leader Elsa Mars in 2014's Freak Show. The final
- 50:10Speaker 1: installment that Lang led before she returned to the guests
- 50:14Speaker 1: in 2018 in Apocalypse. Of the current season, Jessica says
- 50:20Speaker 1: everybody is a returning character pretty much. She said it
- 50:25Speaker 1: was great because I like all four of those characters.
- 50:28Speaker 4: It was fun to play them. And coming back, it
- 50:31Speaker 4: was great to do them again.
- 50:33Speaker 1: I had to turn off one of those American Horror
- 50:35Speaker 1: Stories one year.
- 50:36Speaker 4: It was just too creepy for me.
- 50:38Speaker 8: I wonder which one it was. I mean, they're all creepy. Oh,
- 50:41Speaker 8: my gosh.
- 50:42Speaker 4: It was a creep show. It was a creep fest.
- 50:46Speaker 4: I just couldn't take it.
- 50:48Speaker 23: I think I watched all the way to Roanoke.
- 50:51Speaker 4: Roanoke was creepy. Freak show was creepy.
- 50:58Speaker 8: Freak show was, yes. But, I mean, what did you expect?
- 51:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I know. I know. It's American Horror Story.
- 51:07Speaker 23: The first season will always be my favorite.
- 51:09Speaker 4: Oh, I love that first season.
- 51:11Speaker 23: Yeah, which I think is always obvious with a lot
- 51:13Speaker 23: of seasons.
- 51:14Speaker 8: No, you're right.
- 51:16Speaker 4: You're right. I'll give it a shot. I'll give it
- 51:18Speaker 4: a shot. Okay, let's do birthdays. Sunday birthday, Sophia.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Loren turned 92 on Sunday. Tony Dennison of The Closer
- 51:28Speaker 1: and Major Crimes turned 77 on Sunday.

- 51:38Speaker 1: Gunner and Matthew Nelson turned 59 on Sunday.
- 51:42Speaker 4: That's Rick Nelson's twins. Let's see.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Anything else Sunday that I need?
- 51:51Speaker 4: Not that one. I don't need that one. I don't
- 51:54Speaker 4: need that one. All right. Let's do yesterday. Fannie Flagg
- 51:59Speaker 4: turned 85 yesterday.
- 52:01Speaker 1: Jerry Bruckheimer, who would hurt himself if he fell off
- 52:04Speaker 1: his wallet, turned 83 yesterday. Former Eagles guitarist Don Felder
- 52:11Speaker 1: turned 79 yesterday. Speaking of American Horror Story, Big Stephen
- 52:17Speaker 1: King turned 79 yesterday. Bill Murray, who we haven't seen
- 52:22Speaker 1: in a while, turned 76 yesterday. Ethan Cohen of the
- 52:28Speaker 1: Cohen brothers turned 69 yesterday. Rob Morrow, friend of the
- 52:34Speaker 1: show from Northern Exposure and Numbers, turned 64 yesterday. Cheryl Hines,
- 52:41Speaker 1: curb your enthusiasm, 61 yesterday. Faith Hill turned 59 yesterday.
- 52:48Speaker 4: Faith Hill looks really good for 59. I got to
- 52:51Speaker 4: tell you.
- 52:52Speaker 8: I love Faith Hill.
- 52:53Speaker 4: Ricky Lake turned 58 yesterday.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Luke Wilson from Dallas turned 55 yesterday. Nicole Richie turned
- 53:06Speaker 1: 45 yesterday.
- 53:09Speaker 4: And that's enough. How about today? What do we have today?
- 53:13Speaker 8: Well, I will say one.
- 53:14Speaker 4: Okay.
- 53:15Speaker 11: That I recognize.
- 53:16Speaker 4: Okay.
- 53:18Speaker 8: Joan Jett.
- 53:19Speaker 4: No way.
- 53:19Speaker 23: Joan Jett is 68.
- 53:21Speaker 1: June Forrester of the Forrester sisters turned 70 today. Paul Lamont,
- 53:27Speaker 1: American Graffiti, turned 81 today.
- 53:31Speaker 8: Oh, my gosh.
- 53:33Speaker 23: A rapper I almost forgot about, Mystical, is 56.
- 53:37Speaker 8: No way. Yeah, turns out.
- 53:41Speaker 4: Andre Bocelli.
- 53:43Speaker 1: And he could sing. 68 today. Scott Baio turned 66 today.
- 53:50Speaker 4: Bonnie Hunt. I really like Bonnie Hunt. I think she's
- 53:52Speaker 4: a great actress. And we haven't heard from her enough
- 53:54Speaker 4: in a while. 65 today. How about that?
- 53:59Speaker 8: Come on back, Bonnie.
- 54:00Speaker 4: Come on back. Bonnie, do something. I'm serious. Come on, Bonnie.
- 54:04Speaker 4: We like you.
- 54:05Speaker 8: You're the big 6'5.
- 54:07Speaker 4: Now's the time. Yeah, let's go. Go to work. That's it.
- 54:11Speaker 4: That's enough for today.
- 54:13Speaker 8: Yeah, today was a little bit.
- 54:14Speaker 4: It was a little sad. Hey, we don't make the news.
- 54:19Speaker 4: We just report the news.
- 54:20Speaker 1: We don't.
- 54:21Speaker 4: Don't shoot us.
- 54:21Speaker 1: You're welcome.
- 54:22Speaker 4: Don't shoot the messenger. Exactly.
- 54:25Speaker 23: Hey.
- 54:25Speaker 4: We'll hope for happier news tomorrow. That's all we can do.
- 54:30Speaker 8: Don't hold your breath, but we can hope.

- 55:07Speaker 7: It was after a hailstorm a few years back. I
- 55:09Speaker 7: needed a new roof. Yeah, I shopped around, and then
- 55:12Speaker 7: I found Schulte Roofing, and boy, I'm glad I did.
- 55:14Speaker 7: The folks at Schulte guided me every step of the way.
- 55:17Speaker 7: They showed me my options. They told me what my
- 55:19Speaker 7: out-of-pocket cost would be after insurance. They took the complication
- 55:23Speaker 7: out of an otherwise very stressful situation. They took off
- 55:26Speaker 7: the damaged roof, put on the new roof, did all
- 55:28Speaker 7: the cleanup, and I had my new roof in one day.
- 55:31Speaker 8: Schulte!
- 55:33Speaker 23: In today's press conference with head.
- 55:40Speaker 22: Coach Brian Schottenheimer, he announced the new defensive coach for
- 55:43Speaker 22: the Dallas Cowboys.
- 55:45Speaker 19: Excited to announce we've added a new member to our
- 55:48Speaker 19: defensive staff, senior defensive assistant Mike Pettin. Had a chance
- 55:55Speaker 19: to work with Pett for a number of years along
- 55:56Speaker 19: with the Jets, and he's going to be here in a.
- 56:03Speaker 19: Role to support everything that CP is leading and guiding,
- 56:07Speaker 19: and really, really excited. They work together in Green Bay,
- 56:10Speaker 19: and this is actually something that CP and I talked
- 56:12Speaker 19: about when we first hired him.
- 56:15Speaker 22: Pettin worked with both defensive coordinator Christian Parker and Schottenheimer
- 56:18Speaker 22: through the years, most recently with the Minnesota Vikings last year.
- 56:22Speaker 22: He crossed paths with Schotty during his time as the
- 56:24Speaker 22: defensive coordinator for the New York Jets, and with Christian
- 56:27Speaker 22: Parker at the Packers in the same role. The 60-year-old
- 56:30Speaker 22: will join the staff to help first-year D.C. Parker after
- 56:33Speaker 22: early season struggles. Kevin Walker, TSN Sports.
