- 0:41Speaker 1: black and white of world.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Yeah, your.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages,
- 1:33Speaker 3: Welcome back to another episode of pc W podcast Championship Wrestling.
- 1:37Speaker 3: I am your host, Wayne also known as Semi drive Chicken.
- 1:40Speaker 3: And no, this is not a review for and uh
- 1:44Speaker 3: uh a pay per view a p l E. No,
- 1:46Speaker 3: this is We're not gonna ramble about the ESPN deal. No,
- 1:50Speaker 3: I'm not gonna ramble about a wrestler some scandal, or
- 1:55Speaker 3: ramble about Vince Man. No, no, no. This is one
- 1:58Speaker 3: of those episodes where it's like I got a little
- 2:01Speaker 3: bit of time. I got like an hour to kill.
- 2:03Speaker 3: I have a list of people who want to be
- 2:05Speaker 3: interviewed for a while, people I've wanted to interview for
- 2:08Speaker 3: a while, and I've thought I've been thinking to myself,
- 2:09Speaker 3: maybe it's time, Maybe it's time I start interviewing more,
- 2:15Speaker 3: you know, start filling that gap. We are so close
- 2:18Speaker 3: to one hundred episodes. As we're coming in closer and closer,
- 2:22Speaker 3: I want people who've been on the show in the past,
- 2:25Speaker 3: you know, one hundred episodes. If you've been on the
- 2:28Speaker 3: show and you want to come back on again, I'm
- 2:30Speaker 3: gonna bring everybody back on for episode one hundred. Everybody's
- 2:35Speaker 3: gonna have those theme musics. It's going to sound like
- 2:37Speaker 3: it could very well sound like a Royal Rumble event.
- 2:42Speaker 3: But you know, we're just gonna shoot the shit reminisce
- 2:44Speaker 3: to catch up with some people who haven't been on
- 2:46Speaker 3: in the show in a long time. I like to
- 2:47Speaker 3: get some people who've been on earlier years. Some people
- 2:51Speaker 3: are recently interviewed. So but that said, just slipping it
- 2:55Speaker 3: in there right underneath one hundred, you know, like I
- 2:58Speaker 3: think it will be like episode ninety five, ninety six,
- 3:00Speaker 3: but sliding in there. Co worker of mine goes by
- 3:04Speaker 3: the name Tyler Foster. I'm gonna bring him out here.
- 3:08Speaker 3: We go.
- 3:14Speaker 2: My head the accounts with me. They understand thanks to me.
- 3:29Speaker 3: You guys, Hello, hey buddy, how you doing there? Thanks
- 3:34Speaker 3: for coming in the show.
- 3:36Speaker 4: I'm doing all right, I'm doing right, you know, problem
- 3:38Speaker 4: at all. I'm glad to have you, glad for you
- 3:40Speaker 4: to have me, Thank you very much.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yeah. Uh. Finally somebody on the show took the the
- 3:46Speaker 3: Orton theme music. You know, it's such a good theme music.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I'm surprised it wasn't taken earlier, you know, by somebody.
- 3:55Speaker 4: That's That's one of those musics that as soon as
- 3:57Speaker 4: it hits like, you just know, like the chills run
- 4:00Speaker 4: up your arm. You know something's about to go down,
- 4:03Speaker 4: somebody's getting r kaoed or he's just gonna speak his
- 4:06Speaker 4: mind and just let you know how he feels.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Yeah, And and I recall him saying, like, in the
- 4:12Speaker 3: past few years he was kind of bummed with his
- 4:15Speaker 3: theme music. You know, nobody would sing to his theme
- 4:19Speaker 3: music or anything. And I think maybe it's something somewhere
- 4:23Speaker 3: out of the country, maybe it's Puerto Rico or something.
- 4:25Speaker 3: They start singing to his theme music and started catching on.
- 4:27Speaker 3: And now every time Orton comes out, we all sing
- 4:30Speaker 3: to it now, like like we should have been doing
- 4:32Speaker 3: this a long time ago.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Oh, without a doubt. There was an article I read
- 4:39Speaker 4: and I can't I can't quote the source but when
- 4:42Speaker 4: he came back at Survivor's series war Games with you know,
- 4:46Speaker 4: Cody Rhoades, Seth Roland, Sam he's a and you know
- 4:49Speaker 4: the other guys, there was talks about switching his music
- 4:52Speaker 4: up a little bit, and you know, they did like
- 4:55Speaker 4: a couple iterations of it, they did test runs of it,
- 4:58Speaker 4: and in the end just nobody liked it. It didn't
- 5:01Speaker 4: feel Randy, right, so they just stuck with the classic
- 5:07Speaker 4: voices and it's been that way ever since.
- 5:10Speaker 3: But yeah, I mean like it works for now. I'm
- 5:12Speaker 3: happy it works. Like why it's not broken? Why fix it?
- 5:16Speaker 4: Right? Right? It's definitely it definitely, uh like gives you
- 5:22Speaker 4: more chills than what his his original back when he
- 5:24Speaker 4: was you know, pre evolution and post evolution the music
- 5:28Speaker 4: he had and then you know he got the heavyweight
- 5:31Speaker 4: championship and it was voices now right, So now.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Tyler, uh, I we The reason why how I know
- 5:39Speaker 3: you are in relationship is we work together. So you know,
- 5:44Speaker 3: when you find out somebody at your job is listening
- 5:48Speaker 3: or watching a wrestling clip, you know, and you're you're
- 5:52Speaker 3: a where's the button?
- 5:55Speaker 2: Fucking mark?
- 5:57Speaker 3: When you're a fucking mark, right, you know, You're just like,
- 6:00Speaker 3: are you watching wrestling over there? What makes you think that?
- 6:03Speaker 5: Oh?
- 6:03Speaker 3: I don't know. I just you know, I hear some
- 6:05Speaker 3: theme music and I'm like, that's I'm pretty sure that's wrestling.
- 6:09Speaker 3: You know. You hear some commentary from a match, You're like, Oh,
- 6:12Speaker 3: that's good Old Jr. That's that's somebody's watching wrestling. But
- 6:16Speaker 3: you and me, like, we don't have a lot of
- 6:17Speaker 3: time on the floor to talk about it, but we've
- 6:20Speaker 3: always wanted to stop and chit chat about wrestling. Uh,
- 6:23Speaker 3: maybe we get a few minutes here and there to
- 6:25Speaker 3: chit chat about it. I introduced you to my podcast.
- 6:27Speaker 5: You know.
- 6:28Speaker 3: I was like, dude, like I like wrestling that much,
- 6:30Speaker 3: Like I decided to start a podcast just to sit
- 6:32Speaker 3: down and talk about it. And I you know, I
- 6:36Speaker 3: was like, damn, I gotta I gotta get this guy
- 6:38Speaker 3: eventually on my show, just to so we can just
- 6:41Speaker 3: fucking sit down and just air it out. Man, air
- 6:43Speaker 3: it out. Let's let's talk some wrestling, you know. Uh uh,
- 6:47Speaker 3: But yeah, I finally got you, you know, got the
- 6:51Speaker 3: time to sit here and talk to you. So I
- 6:53Speaker 3: appreciate it, appreciate your time.
- 6:56Speaker 4: I I appreciate your time. Man, thank you, I said,
- 6:58Speaker 4: thank you for having me. I feel honored. And you know,
- 7:00Speaker 4: to to hear the episodes that these guys do and
- 7:05Speaker 4: the topics that you discussed, the reviews and how in
- 7:07Speaker 4: depth everything is is is amazing. Like the level of
- 7:10Speaker 4: attention and paid to the detail is always amazing to
- 7:15Speaker 4: hear in the guys, in the passion that each of
- 7:17Speaker 4: you have when you speak is just I thought I
- 7:20Speaker 4: was passionate about wrestling, and then like I started listening
- 7:22Speaker 4: to this and I was like, Okay, maybe I need to,
- 7:24Speaker 4: you know, get a little bit more serious about it.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Dude, Doyle and Dre absolutely fantastic, amazing guys. Without them,
- 7:31Speaker 3: they're they're seriously I don't know if there would be
- 7:33Speaker 3: a PCW without those two guys. Like they are my
- 7:37Speaker 3: left hand and the right hand of this fucking show,
- 7:40Speaker 3: you know.
- 7:42Speaker 4: Uh.
- 7:43Speaker 3: But yeah, sometimes when we do interviews, I like doing
- 7:46Speaker 3: interviews one on one. If they want to jump on,
- 7:49Speaker 3: they're always more than welcome to jump in these interviews.
- 7:52Speaker 3: But it's like, I'm pretty good doing one on one interviews, right,
- 7:56Speaker 3: It's not like for a job. It's just we're just
- 7:57Speaker 3: shooting ship. I want to I want to know more
- 7:59Speaker 3: about you and wrestling, Like, so, so when did you
- 8:02Speaker 3: start watching wrestling? What got you into wrestling? Oh? Man?
- 8:07Speaker 6: Uh?
- 8:08Speaker 4: Being a young kid, my stepdad watched it almost all
- 8:11Speaker 4: the time, back when SmackDown was on upn Okay before
- 8:16Speaker 4: it became c W, So that was back still in
- 8:19Speaker 4: the era of Stone Cold Vince McMahon. Actually I believe
- 8:24Speaker 4: at that time stone Cold an undertaker. We're having a
- 8:26Speaker 4: storyline and just like feeling the excitement from the crowd
- 8:32Speaker 4: and watching it, and my stepdad wasn't really reactive to it,
- 8:35Speaker 4: but just me just watching these behemoths of men just
- 8:40Speaker 4: go at each other and the stuff that they could do.
- 8:42Speaker 4: And you know, obviously I'm too young to understand the
- 8:46Speaker 4: intricacies of the storyline, but the action was what drew
- 8:50Speaker 4: me into it. And like the different characters that you
- 8:52Speaker 4: see from like the guy wearing a pair of ripped
- 8:55Speaker 4: off at the knee jeans and you know, a black
- 8:57Speaker 4: T shirt with three sixteen to the guy dressed and
- 9:00Speaker 4: all black and raising his hands in the air to
- 9:02Speaker 4: turn on the lights like it was just enamory. And
- 9:06Speaker 4: then you know, you have the years of growing up
- 9:08Speaker 4: and watching it and you know, you fall off here
- 9:11Speaker 4: and there, but if you can pay attention to it
- 9:13Speaker 4: and stick with it, you can continue to follow the
- 9:16Speaker 4: evolution from then to now. So it was always it's
- 9:21Speaker 4: always something that's been like a passion that I wish
- 9:24Speaker 4: I could dedicate more time to, like I said to
- 9:27Speaker 4: you and the other guys on the show, but there's
- 9:30Speaker 4: always a love for it.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's crazy how how much more we have
- 9:36Speaker 3: to cover now as wrestling fans, even within the last
- 9:40Speaker 3: the last few years. I mean, I think this podcast
- 9:43Speaker 3: has only been gone for like three years, and a
- 9:45Speaker 3: lot has changed between. Just like you said, used to
- 9:50Speaker 3: watch it on UPM I remember that, and Rawl was
- 9:53Speaker 3: on like Spike or something.
- 9:56Speaker 4: Yeah, that's it.
- 9:57Speaker 3: That's all we had. We had two shows, that's all
- 9:59Speaker 3: we had to watch, easypsy. If I missed one, I
- 10:02Speaker 3: could easily read about it, you know, on the internet
- 10:06Speaker 3: and find out the results. But like now, it's it's
- 10:09Speaker 3: literally every day of the week, there's always something to watch.
- 10:12Speaker 3: It's it's next to impossible to not have wrestling to
- 10:16Speaker 3: watch every day. And and thank god, like the PCW group,
- 10:21Speaker 3: the community has gotten so big that like somebody's covering
- 10:24Speaker 3: wrestling somewhere, and that's that's what the discord is for.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Like somebody from our show is watching certain wrestling somewhere.
- 10:33Speaker 3: It doesn't go unwatched. You know, somebody may have watched
- 10:38Speaker 3: NXT this week, and somebody may have watched AW or
- 10:41Speaker 3: even gone even gone to an AW show. I think
- 10:45Speaker 3: one of our guys have recently gone to an AW show.
- 10:48Speaker 3: I think I didn't get to read in the check, but.
- 10:51Speaker 4: I think Doyle is just that SmackDown talks.
- 10:56Speaker 3: One of them. That would be Carlos. Yeah, one of them.
- 11:01Speaker 3: I got. I guess see where SmackDown is. But that's
- 11:05Speaker 3: cool too. We also have a listener, Wayne, another guy
- 11:08Speaker 3: named Wayne. He also goes to a lot of shows.
- 11:11Speaker 3: I see that he post, and I know Doyle whenever
- 11:15Speaker 3: you can catch it. Dwayne another listener of our show.
- 11:18Speaker 3: He's gonna be going to a RAW soon. I believe
- 11:22Speaker 3: that's gonna be in Philly. But yeah, have you have
- 11:28Speaker 3: you ever been any live wrestling events?
- 11:31Speaker 6: Uh?
- 11:32Speaker 4: Ten years old? Ten years old? It was at the
- 11:37Speaker 4: I think it was the Wells Fargo Center what is
- 11:39Speaker 4: now the Santanga Arena in Reading And it was my
- 11:45Speaker 4: tenth birthday gift from my aunt and my uncle and I.
- 11:51Speaker 4: The only match that I really remember for the night
- 11:54Speaker 4: is it was a tag team match. I think it
- 11:57Speaker 4: was the main event of the night, and I can't
- 11:59Speaker 4: remember who the team was facing, but the team that
- 12:03Speaker 4: I was just like for some reason dumbstruck about was
- 12:06Speaker 4: Kane and Stone Cold. They came out and like, the
- 12:10Speaker 4: place just went nuts and it was like one of
- 12:14Speaker 4: the coolest things that I just one of the only
- 12:17Speaker 4: wrestling show that I've ever been to. Unfortunately, but just
- 12:21Speaker 4: that match for the night is stuck in my mind,
- 12:23Speaker 4: just seeing those guys. I guess I go at it
- 12:26Speaker 4: and if I remember correctly, stone Cold and Kane won,
- 12:31Speaker 4: I could be wrong. Memories a little bit fuzzy, you know,
- 12:34Speaker 4: so many years later, twenty three years later, but absolutely
- 12:39Speaker 4: amazing night. I walked away from that event with a
- 12:43Speaker 4: Triple H T shirt with it was one of his
- 12:48Speaker 4: first ones he did after he went solo from the
- 12:51Speaker 4: quadricept injury. The Maltese crossed with the three hs in it,
- 12:57Speaker 4: and I had that for years and years and I
- 13:00Speaker 4: honestly can't even remember what happened to it anymore, unfortunately.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I have a few Triple eight shirts myself
- 13:07Speaker 3: in the closet. Uh So that's it. You just went
- 13:10Speaker 3: to like one one show here at the arena, the
- 13:13Speaker 3: local arena.
- 13:15Speaker 4: Yep. Unfortunately, I know they've they come to Hershey a lot.
- 13:18Speaker 4: I know they they go to Santanger sometimes. I know
- 13:22Speaker 4: they also they go out to the PPG Pines Arena
- 13:26Speaker 4: in Pittsburgh. But there was a good portion of my
- 13:29Speaker 4: life where I was incapacitated from travel, incapable I'm sorry,
- 13:36Speaker 4: incapable of travel.
- 13:37Speaker 3: So right, but like it's nice like where you live
- 13:41Speaker 3: because we live rather close. We're almost like an hour
- 13:44Speaker 3: away from any good arena, like the one in Hershey,
- 13:48Speaker 3: the one in Allentown, the one in Philly, and then
- 13:50Speaker 3: the one in the city here like you know, uh
- 13:53Speaker 3: so it's nice. We're always going to be able to
- 13:56Speaker 3: catch wrestling on the East coast for sure, Like if
- 14:00Speaker 3: you really want to go the distance, go to New Jersey,
- 14:03Speaker 3: you know, Pittsburgh, so even though I think there's some
- 14:08Speaker 3: other places in PA that they go to. So we're
- 14:13Speaker 3: good here on the East coast. But is it like,
- 14:17Speaker 3: is there like a pay per view of some kind
- 14:19Speaker 3: that's on your your bucket list? Do you still want
- 14:21Speaker 3: to like pursue at some point going to another event
- 14:25Speaker 3: if you can.
- 14:28Speaker 4: I mean, even if it's just like a regular old
- 14:29Speaker 4: Monday night Raw or a Friday night SmackDown, I obviously
- 14:35Speaker 4: just hey, let's go, let's you know, pack up what
- 14:37Speaker 4: weekend and you know, if we're sitting in for traffic
- 14:40Speaker 4: for five hours, as long as we get to that
- 14:42Speaker 4: show and we're watching the matches, I'm fine with it.
- 14:44Speaker 4: As far as p L E's go Royal Rumble, that
- 14:50Speaker 4: would probably be like a Royal Rumble or a WrestleMania
- 14:54Speaker 4: because that's where you get the really big like oh
- 14:58Speaker 4: my god moments. Yeah, you know, the surprise returns. You
- 15:04Speaker 4: get to see I mean real rumble. You're seeing storylines
- 15:08Speaker 4: play out kind of like in the middle Russell Maine.
- 15:10Speaker 4: You're catching it at the end. So you know, somewhere
- 15:14Speaker 4: in there is where the really interesting things happen. I believe.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Okay, Okay, I guess I gotta ask it. I kind
- 15:24Speaker 3: of got a hint, an idea. Give me your three.
- 15:29Speaker 3: I know it's hard, it's really hard. Three favorite wrestlers.
- 15:39Speaker 4: If you were to ask me years ago, and I'm
- 15:43Speaker 4: talking like late two thousands, I would have said Undertaker,
- 15:47Speaker 4: Triple H H and maybe mister Kennedy, Randy Orton was close,
- 15:57Speaker 4: but I still wasn't digging him at the time. Mister
- 15:59Speaker 4: Kennedy just had that that brash you know, d G
- 16:03Speaker 4: a f attitude. Tell you like I said, tell you,
- 16:07Speaker 4: tell you how it is today. Uh, Triple H still
- 16:13Speaker 4: top of the list. Uh, Brandy Orton definitely up there,
- 16:18Speaker 4: and r I P. Bray Wyatt the Fiend. That was
- 16:23Speaker 4: a character that just it just was one of those
- 16:28Speaker 4: mind fucks in a way. You know, he had the
- 16:31Speaker 4: Firefly fun House and then you know, if you got
- 16:35Speaker 4: on his bad side and he let him out, you
- 16:38Speaker 4: were you were playing with the fiend and that was
- 16:40Speaker 4: something you didn't want. And even before that, you had
- 16:44Speaker 4: the Wyatt family and you know, uh, Luke Luke and
- 16:50Speaker 4: the other guy's name is escaping me at the moment. Yeah,
- 16:56Speaker 4: and and braun Stroman the Black Sheep Yep. You know.
- 17:00Speaker 4: But the stories that he was able to tell, you know,
- 17:04Speaker 4: from his own mind were just like unbelievable, you know,
- 17:08Speaker 4: and the stuff that he can make you feel, and
- 17:10Speaker 4: you know, the the eeriness, I'd almost say undertake undertaker
- 17:16Speaker 4: level eeriness that he could bring to it without having
- 17:21Speaker 4: too many of the effects that that undertaker had. Uh,
- 17:25Speaker 4: we're just mind boggling.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Hm hmm. All right, here's the next one. You're Mount
- 17:32Speaker 3: Rushmore of of greatest wrestlers who for the company, for
- 17:38Speaker 3: the business.
- 17:40Speaker 4: For the business overall or w w E.
- 17:44Speaker 3: I'm gonna say, I'm gonna say, w I guess you
- 17:46Speaker 3: have for ww ww's Mount Rushmore. Uh.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Stone Cold definitely, because without him you don't have that
- 17:59Speaker 4: that revival, that resurgence at King of the Ring and
- 18:03Speaker 4: everything that followed. So stone Cold definitely absolute triple h uh.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Just his you know, they don't call him the cerebral
- 18:14Speaker 4: Assassin for no reason.
- 18:18Speaker 3: What he does for the company now, even he deserves
- 18:21Speaker 3: to be honest.
- 18:23Speaker 4: Yep, uh huh. I'd say mcfoley, mcfoley. He uh, that
- 18:33Speaker 4: man did stuff to his own body for the sake
- 18:36Speaker 4: of wrestling and and selling for other wrestlers that you
- 18:40Speaker 4: don't see other guys doing for other other other men
- 18:44Speaker 4: or women in the business for that matter. You know,
- 18:45Speaker 4: it's not just about men men or women. So definitely mcfoley. Uh,
- 18:54Speaker 4: let's see stone Cold triple h mcfoley.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 19:03Speaker 4: This was probably gonna be controversial, but it also it
- 19:07Speaker 4: all starts with Vince, okay, you know, because without him
- 19:12Speaker 4: and being willing to sign on guys that other companies
- 19:19Speaker 4: were getting ready to write off. You know, we wouldn't
- 19:24Speaker 4: have some of the storytelling that took place in some
- 19:26Speaker 4: of the guys that we have into business today. So
- 19:30Speaker 4: that I know that one's going to be controversial given
- 19:32Speaker 4: everything that's going on. But I won't get I won't
- 19:34Speaker 4: get into that Roman reigns. Roman reigns. Yeah, tribal chief, no,
- 19:48Speaker 4: the OTC. He's done something that nobody else has done
- 19:55Speaker 4: in the past what twenty years, you know, the the
- 19:59Speaker 4: number of opponents that he's beaten as as long as
- 20:01Speaker 4: he's held the championships, the faction that he was able
- 20:06Speaker 4: to put together and keep running for was close to
- 20:11Speaker 4: four years, if not four years a little over, you know.
- 20:17Speaker 4: And and obviously that doesn't happen without you know, the USOS,
- 20:21Speaker 4: without Paul Hayman, but it started with him. So uh,
- 20:27Speaker 4: definitely definitely Roman range as well.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Okay, I like those picks, man, because you know what
- 20:33Speaker 3: I mean, I I believe that everybody is going to
- 20:36Speaker 3: have their different Mount Rushmore. You know, it's a lot
- 20:44Speaker 3: of people. It's controversial to pick such a wrestler, Like
- 20:47Speaker 3: if you put Hogan up there, people are gonna be
- 20:50Speaker 3: controversial about it. I'm sure if I put Hogan on
- 20:53Speaker 3: my Mount Rushmore, I'm sure Doyle would love to argue that.
- 20:57Speaker 3: You know, if I put Charlotte Flare up there my
- 21:01Speaker 3: Mount Rushmore, I'm sure Dre would love to argue that,
- 21:04Speaker 3: you know. So yeah, for each throw, bro, it's also
- 21:11Speaker 3: it's how you see in your eyes too, as the consumer,
- 21:15Speaker 3: as the customer, as the you know, maybe you're looking
- 21:20Speaker 3: at it from like entertainment value or merch sales or
- 21:24Speaker 3: you know, moving a story, or the feuds that they
- 21:28Speaker 3: had or how they performed in the ring or uh,
- 21:32Speaker 3: it all varies, man, it all varies per wrestler, because
- 21:37Speaker 3: like even you can even argue John Cena could be
- 21:39Speaker 3: up on that, you know.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Uh yeah that was one I for some reason did
- 21:44Speaker 4: not think about.
- 21:45Speaker 3: But yeah, yeah, that's the thing. It's like there's so
- 21:47Speaker 3: many it's hard to put four up there, and not
- 21:50Speaker 3: just that. You're like, well what about women, Like there's
- 21:54Speaker 3: great you know women wrestlers to be on that Mount Rushmore,
- 21:57Speaker 3: And it's like do you just do a mount rushmore
- 21:59Speaker 3: female wrestlers. I guess it's probably just a lot easier
- 22:01Speaker 3: to do, right.
- 22:03Speaker 4: That one would that one would be interesting.
- 22:05Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, So man, I uh, I actually,
- 22:12Speaker 3: you know what I want to get the podcast, you know,
- 22:15Speaker 3: to get the guys together. I want to do a bracket. Man,
- 22:17Speaker 3: these guys always ducking me. I'm trying to do bracket
- 22:19Speaker 3: of like fantasy matches maybe, or like greatest Intercontinental Champion
- 22:23Speaker 3: of all time. I don't know, man, uh, some sort
- 22:27Speaker 3: of bracket to fill it. We're reviewing a lot of
- 22:30Speaker 3: there's a lot of pay per views. I understand we've
- 22:32Speaker 3: got wreussell Palooza coming up, but maybebe before Wressel Palooza.
- 22:37Speaker 3: If you if you're listening to this episode, which you
- 22:39Speaker 3: probably are, Doyle and Drake because you're not on it,
- 22:42Speaker 3: maybe we should do a bracket coming up.
- 22:45Speaker 4: I mean, we're working very interesting.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Coming close to one hundred episodes, so geez, and you
- 22:54Speaker 3: know it's not It's funny because I do listen to
- 22:56Speaker 3: a lot of other wrestling podcasts and stuff, and there
- 22:58Speaker 3: are some summer in like a couple hundreds or maybe
- 23:00Speaker 3: in the thousands, which is awesome. You know, that's awesome.
- 23:04Speaker 3: It's fantastic. Ours are just long ass episodes. There's many
- 23:11Speaker 3: of them, just long. Ah yeah.
- 23:15Speaker 4: But that that that that speaks to the level of,
- 23:18Speaker 4: like I said, paying attention to the details and the
- 23:21Speaker 4: love that guys have that many things that they want
- 23:26Speaker 4: to say, that much material to contribute to the podcast
- 23:30Speaker 4: that other podcasts, not to say that they don't have it,
- 23:34Speaker 4: but for you guys to go as long as you do,
- 23:37Speaker 4: you know, it's just that much more material to pack
- 23:41Speaker 4: in and it extends it.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Out so much more. Yeah, it just gonna be like
- 23:47Speaker 3: six fucking matches and we're gonna review it for three
- 23:50Speaker 3: hours in the pay per view, could be like two hours,
- 23:53Speaker 3: like yeah, I mean, sometimes the math isn't mathing, but
- 23:56Speaker 3: the fact is we still get downloads. So I guess
- 23:59Speaker 3: people are, hey, I got fucking time to kill, let's
- 24:02Speaker 3: fucking listen to PCW. I guess for three hours. I
- 24:06Speaker 3: know Dwayne Coleman and listening to the show told me
- 24:09Speaker 3: he listened to an entire episode in the DMV once.
- 24:13Speaker 4: So yeah, goodness.
- 24:16Speaker 3: If you can't get any lower than that, it's listening
- 24:19Speaker 3: to an episode of PCW in the DMV so.
- 24:24Speaker 4: I'd be hooked. I just might forget my number.
- 24:26Speaker 3: That's where we're at.
- 24:27Speaker 4: Twenty seven, twenty seven. I gotta go.
- 24:31Speaker 3: All right. So now that I know, like kind of
- 24:33Speaker 3: roughly what kind of wrestlers you like? You know what
- 24:36Speaker 3: era you're you're kind of roughly from. You know, it
- 24:39Speaker 3: sounds like you're more of the attitude switching into the
- 24:41Speaker 3: ruthless aggression era. Uh, you're pretty much around the same
- 24:45Speaker 3: time frame I am with wrestling growing up.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Uh.
- 24:49Speaker 3: But what kind of do you have any You mentioned
- 24:54Speaker 3: a Triple AH shirt. Do you have any other merch?
- 24:56Speaker 3: Any other shirts merch at all of wrestling?
- 25:01Speaker 4: I do have at my grandparents house stored away right now.
- 25:06Speaker 4: Some John c. M gear. Back when h the his
- 25:12Speaker 4: little mascot was the Bulldog, he had the more military
- 25:15Speaker 4: stylish gear, the the squared off cap with the flat bill,
- 25:21Speaker 4: and it had like a it almost looked like a
- 25:23Speaker 4: sergeant's badge, but it had to hustle a litlety respect
- 25:27Speaker 4: in it with the camouflage all around that. I did
- 25:32Speaker 4: have a spinner belt for the longest time. I think
- 25:36Speaker 4: one of my nephews got a hold of it and
- 25:39Speaker 4: met its unfortunate demise, and then I did have a
- 25:49Speaker 4: CM punk shirt with the crossed arms. It was just
- 25:53Speaker 4: the wrapping on the hands, but it was crossed with
- 25:56Speaker 4: the black x's and everything, and there was or like
- 26:01Speaker 4: that was. Yeah, that was about the only stuff that
- 26:04Speaker 4: I had at the time. And hopefully, as as you know,
- 26:08Speaker 4: the years go on and I can get to live events,
- 26:11Speaker 4: or if I can get the extra spending money, maybe
- 26:13Speaker 4: invest a little bit more, because I know there's there's
- 26:16Speaker 4: all they've invested more in the merchandise they sell so
- 26:20Speaker 4: it'll last longer, which would make it worth worth buying.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Now, yeah, I have I haven't bought any wrestling merch
- 26:32Speaker 3: in a while, and I'm kind of happy right now
- 26:35Speaker 3: because I think the only thing I do on maybe
- 26:37Speaker 3: is like some seampunk shirts. But yeah, it's awesome, Like
- 26:41Speaker 3: you have some old school John Cena stuff, you know
- 26:45Speaker 3: he had. If anybody who has tons of merches John
- 26:49Speaker 3: Cena dude, just the fruey pebble color of assortment of
- 26:55Speaker 3: T shirts.
- 26:56Speaker 4: Just every week it's a new design and a new color,
- 27:00Speaker 4: and you know, uh, I know, for there was a
- 27:03Speaker 4: while in his in his early run where you had
- 27:06Speaker 4: the same design for maybe two or three weeks, and
- 27:09Speaker 4: then he'd switched it up, and then that would run
- 27:11Speaker 4: for two or three weeks, and then he switched it up.
- 27:13Speaker 4: Now it's just every week something new.
- 27:19Speaker 3: I mean, the guy's making money like hand over fists
- 27:21Speaker 3: for fucking merch sales. That's for damn sure. I'll tell
- 27:26Speaker 3: you what. There's probably somewhere out there, Uh fucking Mark
- 27:29Speaker 3: who collected every who collected one of every one of
- 27:34Speaker 3: Johnson's retirements to our shirts. I mean, that would be
- 27:37Speaker 3: pretty cool collection.
- 27:39Speaker 4: But uh, without a doubt. You know, you watch the
- 27:44Speaker 4: one program Most Wanted Treasures. Definitely one of those guys.
- 27:48Speaker 4: Definitely one of those guys.
- 27:53Speaker 3: Man. Yeah, it's it's funny, how like we just don't
- 27:59Speaker 3: get rid of wrestling stuff and just piles up somewhere
- 28:02Speaker 3: and T shirt. I have T shirts that don't fit
- 28:04Speaker 3: in anymore, like I had them since I was a teenager.
- 28:06Speaker 3: I was like, why I'm not getting rid of it though,
- 28:09Speaker 3: I'm not getting rid of this DX shirt that I
- 28:11Speaker 3: barely fit in anymore?
- 28:12Speaker 6: You know, hell, no, no, no, It's it speaks to
- 28:19Speaker 6: the impact that it had on you, that you had
- 28:21Speaker 6: that much love for it, you invested in it in
- 28:24Speaker 6: the first place, and continue to cherish.
- 28:27Speaker 4: It for the memories that you know, you were able
- 28:30Speaker 4: to take from what you watched on TV or in person.
- 28:34Speaker 4: So that's that's the stuff that you you can't get
- 28:37Speaker 4: back once you give it away or sell it or whatever.
- 28:42Speaker 3: Yeah. Plus, you know, all my wrestling shirts I have
- 28:45Speaker 3: like memories, you know PL's I've worn them at where
- 28:49Speaker 3: I bought them from, you know, gotten them as gifts
- 28:52Speaker 3: from friends, even listeners of the show. I've gotten wrestling
- 28:57Speaker 3: shirts from, Like yeah, I think the one of my
- 29:02Speaker 3: favorite ones is my Roman reigns Acknowledge me one and
- 29:05Speaker 3: I have a Bey Lynch the Man t shirt. Uh yeah,
- 29:12Speaker 3: it's always nice. Now are you when you're out and
- 29:14Speaker 3: about and you catch somebody with a wrestling shirt? And
- 29:16Speaker 3: I saw somebody. I was at Ocean City, Maryland last
- 29:20Speaker 3: weekend and there was a guy on the boardwalk with
- 29:22Speaker 3: the Jay Uso shirt. It said yeat And I looked
- 29:25Speaker 3: at him, I go, youat four letters and he said
- 29:30Speaker 3: you like it was awesome.
- 29:32Speaker 4: It's so cool, like when you know, you know, oh,
- 29:36Speaker 4: of course, Now are you the Are you the type
- 29:39Speaker 4: of collector that as soon as you get something, no
- 29:41Speaker 4: matter what it is, it gets stored away, like if
- 29:44Speaker 4: it's a shirt, it's in plastic wrapped up and tucked
- 29:47Speaker 4: in a drawer, or you just leave it out and
- 29:49Speaker 4: enjoy it.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Yeah. I just say it's funny like this somebody out
- 29:59Speaker 3: there in the world.
- 30:00Speaker 4: World.
- 30:00Speaker 3: It's like it's just that overwhelming feeling of like, oh
- 30:03Speaker 3: you like wrestling too.
- 30:05Speaker 4: You know.
- 30:06Speaker 3: That's the thing about wrestling, man, When it's like any
- 30:09Speaker 3: other sport. You know, it's not like, oh you like
- 30:12Speaker 3: football too, it's like, oh you like that team, like
- 30:14Speaker 3: fuck you? You know, like oh you like that team, Like
- 30:17Speaker 3: we're different teams like fuck you. No, Like like I
- 30:20Speaker 3: like a different oh you like like nobody has ever
- 30:22Speaker 3: walked up to me and it was going, oh you
- 30:25Speaker 3: like wrestling, Yeah, And it's like I like dom Mysterio,
- 30:28Speaker 3: Oh fuck you man. Like no, dude, no, every it's
- 30:32Speaker 3: like you like wrestling, Yeah, It's like awesome across the board.
- 30:36Speaker 3: It doesn't matter who you like, who you hate, It
- 30:38Speaker 3: doesn't matter. The fact is you like it. But like
- 30:40Speaker 3: when it comes to any other sport, if I like
- 30:43Speaker 3: a different team, like they're gonna flip my fucking car
- 30:46Speaker 3: in the parking lot, Like if we fucking they're gonna riot,
- 30:50Speaker 3: you know, like.
- 30:53Speaker 4: To Philly.
- 30:54Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, like I swear to guy. But you know,
- 30:57Speaker 3: you know what. You know. What's another thing Tyler is
- 31:00Speaker 3: I've never left WrestleMania, and I I, okay, you know
- 31:05Speaker 3: what perfect, perfect, perfect solution here WrestleMania forty. I went
- 31:10Speaker 3: and were wore Night two of Roman Raine shirt. I know,
- 31:15Speaker 3: damn well, Vermon Rains was not winning that night. I know,
- 31:17Speaker 3: damn well, Cody Rhodse is walking out with the champion.
- 31:21Speaker 3: I weren't anyway, but guess what when I got to
- 31:24Speaker 3: the parking lot, people weren't flipping my fucking truck like,
- 31:27Speaker 3: oh look this Roman Rains fan, let's get up, like
- 31:31Speaker 3: fu what God damn We're like I said, wrestling fans
- 31:38Speaker 3: are different type of breed, you know.
- 31:41Speaker 4: And that's just it, Like it's I think the community
- 31:45Speaker 4: is tighter because I don't know if if you had
- 31:50Speaker 4: experienced just like when I was in school, if you
- 31:52Speaker 4: talked about wrestling like you were a nerd or a
- 31:55Speaker 4: dork or you know, you got you kind of got
- 31:57Speaker 4: made fun of for it. And now it's just more
- 32:01Speaker 4: socially acceptable to be a fan of this sport and
- 32:06Speaker 4: enjoy it. Like you said, no matter who it is,
- 32:08Speaker 4: who you like, who you don't like. But it's a
- 32:11Speaker 4: tighter knick community.
- 32:15Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, it is true. It is a tight knit community.
- 32:18Speaker 3: And I made a lot of friends over the years
- 32:20Speaker 3: just through wrestling. And and it's even funnier like when
- 32:25Speaker 3: I go to an event and I see somebody there
- 32:28Speaker 3: I know, or I see on my Facebook somebody posts like, oh,
- 32:32Speaker 3: we're at the local, like you know, SmackDown at the
- 32:35Speaker 3: Wells firego. I'm like, you son of a bitch. This
- 32:37Speaker 3: whole time, you guys were closet wrestling fans what I
- 32:40Speaker 3: like to call them, closet wrestling fans. You know, uh,
- 32:45Speaker 3: you know, I know people tell me what's that?
- 32:50Speaker 4: How did you not tell me?
- 32:51Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, exactly How did you not tell me? Like,
- 32:54Speaker 3: you know, I see, I see that Johnsen is starting
- 32:56Speaker 3: underneath that the other T shirt you got, Like, don't
- 32:58Speaker 3: act like you're not fanly? Oh man, Okay, cool. Now
- 33:06Speaker 3: I want to know did you play any wrestling games
- 33:09Speaker 3: growing up?
- 33:12Speaker 4: But yes I did. I had to smack Down Role
- 33:17Speaker 4: Versus SmackDown for PlayStation two. I believe it was two
- 33:21Speaker 4: thousand and nine, and then I had the version for
- 33:26Speaker 4: the PSP and I can't remember exactly what it was called.
- 33:33Speaker 4: But every morning on the bus ride to school and
- 33:36Speaker 4: on the bus ride back from school, that was my zone.
- 33:39Speaker 4: I was making matches up and progressing storylines and creating
- 33:44Speaker 4: characters and I just I just get lost in it.
- 33:49Speaker 4: It was a great way to take the stress off
- 33:52Speaker 4: of the day of being a kid and having to
- 33:54Speaker 4: learn crap you didn't really want to learn, or putting
- 33:56Speaker 4: up with people you didn't want to. You just pretend
- 33:59Speaker 4: they're the opponent that you're wrestling in a match and
- 34:02Speaker 4: kick their butt.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Yeah. I pumping tons of hours and those were all
- 34:09Speaker 3: versus SmackDown games. As a kid, all I wanted was
- 34:15Speaker 3: just be able to play with more of my friends.
- 34:18Speaker 3: I just wanted, like more wrestlers in the ring. You know,
- 34:21Speaker 3: there was a time when the wrestling games only allowed
- 34:24Speaker 3: two wrestlers at a time, and then you know, then
- 34:28Speaker 3: we could play four awesome, And then the big thing
- 34:31Speaker 3: was six. That was that was a big deal for us,
- 34:34Speaker 3: and that it was like that for a long time,
- 34:37Speaker 3: just six wrestlers in the ring, four players on one
- 34:41Speaker 3: you know screen. And then now I believe you can
- 34:46Speaker 3: do eight wrestlers in the ring, and I think you
- 34:48Speaker 3: can do like eight if you're playing on PC and
- 34:52Speaker 3: you can play online, you can do eight wrestlers, eight
- 34:55Speaker 3: of your friends. And the matches in Gimmicks are insane,
- 35:02Speaker 3: you know, the way they look, the music, everything. I
- 35:06Speaker 3: even thought about getting like this year's version of.
- 35:10Speaker 4: It, oh with the Island of relevancy and everything.
- 35:16Speaker 3: Yeah, you know what, dude, like seventy bucks for just
- 35:20Speaker 3: the basic model, Like, I'll probably that's the one I'm
- 35:23Speaker 3: probably gonna get. But like, I don't see myself with
- 35:26Speaker 3: spending the what one or whatever it is. God man, Uh,
- 35:31Speaker 3: it's ridiculous how much they charge for for a fucking game.
- 35:37Speaker 4: I mean the the for the way they utilize the
- 35:42Speaker 4: funding though and improve the engines and the graphics, the
- 35:47Speaker 4: playability then just what you can do in a match though,
- 35:51Speaker 4: is it it's almost worth the investment. But I do
- 35:57Speaker 4: agree it's just one hundred and twenty. Yeah, that's that's
- 36:00Speaker 4: a little on the heavy side.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, I recall games being like fifteen thirty dollars,
- 36:12Speaker 3: you know, thirty dollars was I was like, okay, that's
- 36:14Speaker 3: a reasonable price, and now it's more than a DVD
- 36:19Speaker 3: and not DVD like a digital movie like Prime for
- 36:23Speaker 3: four K, Ultra HD whatever, Like you're gonna get them
- 36:28Speaker 3: thirty bucks maybe at the most thirty five at the
- 36:30Speaker 3: most for the top tier Marvel movie whatever, but like, hey,
- 36:36Speaker 3: seventy bucks for a fucking game, and then what are
- 36:40Speaker 3: you gonna do next year? You're gonna release the same shit, right,
- 36:43Speaker 3: but it's not gonna have this one thing, or it's
- 36:46Speaker 3: not gonna have this one thing. I mean, I just
- 36:48Speaker 3: never understood why we can't just you know, have a
- 36:54Speaker 3: good wrestling engine, you know, game and then just every
- 36:59Speaker 3: year just update the fuck roster.
- 37:02Speaker 4: You know, like whatever whatever pl is that you're doing,
- 37:05Speaker 4: because you went from what clash in uh Clash at
- 37:09Speaker 4: the Castle to Clash in Paris now, so you're just
- 37:12Speaker 4: updating the pls and like you said, the roster, that's
- 37:14Speaker 4: all I got to do, Just.
- 37:16Speaker 3: Update the roster, uh, you know, send out DLC packs
- 37:19Speaker 3: like oh shit, now like Johnsena had seven more shirts
- 37:22Speaker 3: since the last DLC, Like you know, maybe if I
- 37:25Speaker 3: want that, I can download that. Maybe there's new wrestling
- 37:28Speaker 3: theme music I want to download, and they can micro
- 37:30Speaker 3: transaction all that shit if they want just stop forcing
- 37:34Speaker 3: me to fucking spend you know, seventy dollars a fucking year,
- 37:39Speaker 3: and then you know it ends up. There's just there's
- 37:42Speaker 3: always something about the games, you know, there's never it's
- 37:47Speaker 3: really hard to pinpoint like, oh, this was the perfect
- 37:50Speaker 3: wrestling game. There's always something about them, man, that that's
- 37:53Speaker 3: just fucks. I will say, like the Royal Rumble now
- 37:58Speaker 3: being eight is eight to ten wrestlers at once. I mean,
- 38:01Speaker 3: that's fucking insane. I always thought the elimination chamber was
- 38:05Speaker 3: always so cool in the wrestling games. Uh what else?
- 38:09Speaker 3: What else are really fun?
- 38:12Speaker 4: I do.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Smack.
- 38:14Speaker 4: I think the Helen the Cells were pretty The hell
- 38:15Speaker 4: and the Cells were pretty good too. Yeah.
- 38:17Speaker 3: I just never liked the when they got those red
- 38:20Speaker 3: hell in the cells.
- 38:22Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah, God.
- 38:24Speaker 3: The Fiend. That's when they had the Fiend and seth
- 38:27Speaker 3: Rollins fought for the first time. I think they had
- 38:29Speaker 3: the red hell in the cell and stayed for a
- 38:31Speaker 3: bit and I was like, oh my god, this a
- 38:33Speaker 3: fucking terrible idea.
- 38:37Speaker 4: I hate to think about the amount of pain or
- 38:39Speaker 4: powder coat it took to just get that thing ready.
- 38:44Speaker 4: But that's the the industrialist in me thinking.
- 38:50Speaker 3: Yeah, that's funny. Uh, have you ever met a wrestler
- 38:55Speaker 3: in person, like at all, like signings or autographed signings
- 38:59Speaker 3: or a picture or like Hooters or something.
- 39:08Speaker 4: I got to meet Stone Cold and this was after
- 39:12Speaker 4: the you know, the the tenth Birthday Gift wrestling event
- 39:17Speaker 4: stone Cold. Uh. I think Shane McMahon was there. I
- 39:22Speaker 4: think Tristratus was there, and I can't remember meeting anybody
- 39:26Speaker 4: else as far as outside of a wrestling event. It
- 39:32Speaker 4: was his name, Ken something black Man, Ken Blackman. I
- 39:35Speaker 4: think it was met him at the mall. We were walking,
- 39:41Speaker 4: you know, down the mall. We were getting ready to leave,
- 39:44Speaker 4: and my stepdad recognized him right away. He was leaving
- 39:48Speaker 4: Toys r Us. I think he went shopping for his
- 39:50Speaker 4: one of his kids. And yes, Steve Blackman was leaving
- 39:56Speaker 4: the store and he's out to check his phone or
- 40:01Speaker 4: something like that, and my stepdad walked over to him
- 40:03Speaker 4: and he's like, hey, you know, they just had their
- 40:04Speaker 4: own a little conversation and my dad stepdad waved us
- 40:08Speaker 4: over and you know we got to meet him, shake
- 40:11Speaker 4: hands with him and everything like that. I think he
- 40:12Speaker 4: signed my stepdad's shirt, and you know, we didn't want
- 40:16Speaker 4: to like blow his spot up. So just let him
- 40:18Speaker 4: go and we left to left them all. But it
- 40:22Speaker 4: was really cool. I think that's the only time I've
- 40:24Speaker 4: ever met a celebrity person of any you know, anything,
- 40:31Speaker 4: anything outside of their comfort zone. I guess you could.
- 40:35Speaker 3: Say, damn, dude, that's cool. Especially man, I don't even
- 40:42Speaker 3: know what I say. If I have a mestress stratus,
- 40:44Speaker 3: Like a poster was hanging in my room as a teenager,
- 40:47Speaker 3: and as an adult, I'd still hanging in my room still.
- 40:51Speaker 3: It's just as she did, like you know, the da
- 40:54Speaker 3: have God damn.
- 40:58Speaker 4: Listen her. Her and Lyda, I think are probably the
- 41:01Speaker 4: two that have aged aged really well. You know, you
- 41:05Speaker 4: almost can't tell a difference from then to now. I
- 41:08Speaker 4: mean you can, but not as bad as other people
- 41:11Speaker 4: that have left the business.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, so true. You know, whod isn't aging very well?
- 41:19Speaker 3: It's sunny, and I think it's because she probably doesn't
- 41:22Speaker 3: get enough son where she's at.
- 41:26Speaker 4: Oh wait, isn't that the one that killed her boyfriend
- 41:29Speaker 4: or her husband?
- 41:30Speaker 3: She's the one. Yeah, she's She's the one in jail.
- 41:33Speaker 3: I think she she had a d u I and
- 41:36Speaker 3: she I think she believes she kills somebody.
- 41:39Speaker 4: H oh okay, I thought it was like her spouse
- 41:43Speaker 4: that she had killed.
- 41:45Speaker 3: I don't know, man, she for a lot of things. Well,
- 41:50Speaker 3: I know is like there's a lot of there's a
- 41:51Speaker 3: few people who should be in jail that aren't vistuln
- 41:54Speaker 3: uh but you know, yeah, yeah, that's tremendous. Uh I.
- 42:03Speaker 3: I really wonder if they're gonna do a season two
- 42:05Speaker 3: that that Vince documentary on Netflix because there was so
- 42:10Speaker 3: much more still going on after that documentary came out.
- 42:13Speaker 3: It's like, oh dude, like they didn't even cover the
- 42:15Speaker 3: part where he was shitting on people.
- 42:19Speaker 4: I would guarantee that that's probably in production right now,
- 42:22Speaker 4: if not post production. It was it was really shocking
- 42:27Speaker 4: to see who said, who said what when they said it,
- 42:32Speaker 4: and you know the amount of information they were able
- 42:37Speaker 4: to provide dates times, you know, the stuff that was
- 42:41Speaker 4: said or took place like it was shocking. And you know,
- 42:48Speaker 4: I can't believe that he even had a second run,
- 42:52Speaker 4: you know, and a second attempt at running after he
- 42:55Speaker 4: was initially fired. That was that was shocking to me.
- 43:06Speaker 3: Yeah, he's like he's like our tiger king, you know,
- 43:12Speaker 3: Like when that document came out. It was so popular
- 43:16Speaker 3: and people were like just telling me about it, like yes,
- 43:18Speaker 3: I know, Like, yes, I know, I have a show,
- 43:21Speaker 3: a wrestling show. Yes I know, I'm gonna watch. I've
- 43:24Speaker 3: watched it twice already, thank you. I've covered a whole
- 43:26Speaker 3: episode on it. Thank you. And I'm just like, yeah,
- 43:29Speaker 3: it's like our Tiger King.
- 43:31Speaker 4: Like are you sure? But did you see this part? Yes?
- 43:35Speaker 4: Yes I did.
- 43:37Speaker 3: That's why like we got the discord, because when the
- 43:39Speaker 3: podcast did start out, everybody would be blown out my
- 43:42Speaker 3: phone or something about hey did you see this or that.
- 43:45Speaker 3: I'm like, yes, I did, Yeah, yes I did. If
- 43:48Speaker 3: it's wrestling related, I've seen it or heard it, like
- 43:52Speaker 3: don't and that, you know. You know, one friend, bless
- 43:55Speaker 3: her heart, Brooke Hogney, the listener of the show. She
- 43:58Speaker 3: always sends me wrestling stuff right away and I'm like, oh, yeah,
- 44:01Speaker 3: I've already heard that. She's like damn, like yeah, I
- 44:05Speaker 3: you know how many many outlets I'm subscribed to and
- 44:08Speaker 3: like how many notifications I got throughout the day about
- 44:11Speaker 3: just the boor and his shit. You know? Right now,
- 44:14Speaker 3: the news that's hot in the wrestling world is this.
- 44:16Speaker 3: I'm not even reading into it. Because I don't really
- 44:18Speaker 3: give a fuck. It's this Nicky Bella and Wade Barrett
- 44:21Speaker 3: drama and I'm not Yeah, something about Wade Barrett said
- 44:25Speaker 3: something during her match at Clash at Paris and and
- 44:30Speaker 3: I don't know what it was. I don't really care.
- 44:33Speaker 3: All I know is Wade Barrett got taken off in commentary.
- 44:35Speaker 3: So now it's gonna be Corey Graves and Michael Cole
- 44:38Speaker 3: on Raw and SmackDown.
- 44:40Speaker 4: Dad, I did hear, Dad? I did hear that Wade
- 44:43Speaker 4: was out? I don't know. Did he get relegated to uh,
- 44:46Speaker 4: I'm sorry, delegated down to NXT or is he like
- 44:49Speaker 4: all fall together?
- 44:50Speaker 3: He might go down to NXC. I'm not sure. It
- 44:52Speaker 3: seems like they treat NXT as the punishment because Corey
- 44:56Speaker 3: Graves got mouthed about something and he got put down
- 44:58Speaker 3: a NXC for a while.
- 45:01Speaker 4: Yeah. Uh, well, if that's the case. On the Wrestling News,
- 45:04Speaker 4: I got one for you.
- 45:07Speaker 3: Uh.
- 45:08Speaker 4: It was about Rye back and it was pointed out
- 45:11Speaker 4: that Goldberg and made a w W E return, aj
- 45:15Speaker 4: Lee And made a w W return, and not too
- 45:17Speaker 4: long after aj made her return, right Back tweeted feed
- 45:21Speaker 4: me more at WWE and not too long after took
- 45:25Speaker 4: the tweet down.
- 45:28Speaker 3: Hmmm, right back, Oh god, I don't think I need
- 45:32Speaker 3: to see him back in the company.
- 45:37Speaker 4: You and many others, my friend.
- 45:39Speaker 3: No, I don't thank you. I don't think he'll ever
- 45:41Speaker 3: come back to the company. I'm good.
- 45:43Speaker 4: That was That was pretty much the official consensus as
- 45:46Speaker 4: far as comments go on what I read.
- 45:50Speaker 3: If that's a rumor, that's just stay stay.
- 45:56Speaker 4: There's somebody somebody said he's like the t MoU Goldberg,
- 46:00Speaker 4: which I just died. For like five minutes. I was
- 46:02Speaker 4: rolling on the floor laughing. Mhmm.
- 46:09Speaker 3: Yeah. They were pushing it for a little bit to
- 46:10Speaker 3: be like the Goldberg, the new Goldberg, and just yeah,
- 46:14Speaker 3: they failed that miserably. When oh, I forget who finally
- 46:19Speaker 3: put him down. I don't know if it.
- 46:21Speaker 4: Was Shield and see him Punk. Yeah I believe yeah,
- 46:26Speaker 4: something because I know what h right back had the
- 46:30Speaker 4: championship and then gave it up the Punk and kept
- 46:34Speaker 4: having these matches to try and get it back, but
- 46:36Speaker 4: the Shield would interfere. Uh. And then just I think
- 46:39Speaker 4: it's not too long after that, Ryeback was just gone.
- 46:48Speaker 3: I really hope you don't ever come back.
- 46:52Speaker 4: I can hear the face in the hands of the
- 46:54Speaker 4: whole such just thinking about.
- 46:56Speaker 3: It and the big eye rolling all I know, to
- 47:00Speaker 3: be honest, Like, the the w W roster is so
- 47:03Speaker 3: fucking large right now. Any idea of wrestlers coming to
- 47:08Speaker 3: the company, I'm like, you know, I I'm hearing rumors
- 47:12Speaker 3: of Uh Jericho's contract is up. I believe at the
- 47:15Speaker 3: end of the year, there's rumors about him coming back
- 47:18Speaker 3: to w W to retire possibly, you know, I I
- 47:21Speaker 3: agree that would be awesome. That's where he wind winds down.
- 47:26Speaker 3: But I'm just like, where the where the fuck are
- 47:28Speaker 3: you gonna fit in? And you know, the Crown Jewel,
- 47:30Speaker 3: you know, have your last match of Crown Jewel. Thanks Jericho, Like,
- 47:36Speaker 3: roster's fucking stacked.
- 47:37Speaker 4: Man, Where and how can we fit you in to
- 47:42Speaker 4: do your your goodbyes?
- 47:44Speaker 3: Dude? Like, I was very surprised that we're able to
- 47:47Speaker 3: fit a retirement match with Tina in there. Uh, you know,
- 47:51Speaker 3: retirement tour match, and you know we got Russive on
- 47:54Speaker 3: the last card. I was surprised he was even able
- 47:56Speaker 3: to get on the card. You know, Uh, there's I
- 48:00Speaker 3: don't know, we only had like five or six matches
- 48:03Speaker 3: last pay per view, and when you really look at
- 48:05Speaker 3: the numbers, it's not a lot of people. It's not
- 48:07Speaker 3: a lot of people. It's like maybe twenty people in
- 48:09Speaker 3: the whole card, and there's so many people, like god
- 48:13Speaker 3: damn ross.
- 48:16Speaker 4: Even if you're trying to tell like other stories in
- 48:18Speaker 4: the background, like the vignettes or whatever they call them,
- 48:21Speaker 4: you know, the cutaways and everything, like, yeah, it's still
- 48:24Speaker 4: like you're adding another six eight people at most, So
- 48:29Speaker 4: like how many more can you really do?
- 48:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, the amount of pay per reviews a
- 48:37Speaker 3: year has just gone up so much because it just
- 48:41Speaker 3: seems like we never get a break, even for PCW.
- 48:44Speaker 3: We just it's like every time we turn around, it's
- 48:47Speaker 3: like bam pl e bam pl e bam Summer Slam
- 48:51Speaker 3: two nights. The fuck? What the fuck just happened?
- 48:59Speaker 4: Yeah, that one, I was I was surprised about that one.
- 49:01Speaker 4: I think it, if if anything, it was probably inevitable.
- 49:04Speaker 4: Probably inevitable given that, like it's what the their their
- 49:10Speaker 4: second quote unquote WrestleMania of the season, uh, the unspoken WrestleMania,
- 49:15Speaker 4: if you will. At least I think that's how it
- 49:18Speaker 4: was like pushed for a few years there and then
- 49:20Speaker 4: they just kind of dropped it. But yeah, like it's
- 49:24Speaker 4: just one after another. Uh and and nothing like what
- 49:30Speaker 4: they used to do. Like you had what uh New
- 49:33Speaker 4: Year's Revolution uh or New Year's Resolution or something like that.
- 49:37Speaker 4: You had Vengeance Day.
- 49:41Speaker 3: You know.
- 49:41Speaker 4: ELC was a standalone pay per view for a while, Like,
- 49:44Speaker 4: but you don't have those anymore. It's just new stuff.
- 49:48Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 49:53Speaker 4: Ouch.
- 49:57Speaker 3: What else I want to ask you? Uh? Yeah, so
- 50:00Speaker 3: how much like during the week do you like because
- 50:02Speaker 3: this is a big controversy, I say with like, you know,
- 50:06Speaker 3: every couple of weeks, it seems like we're having to
- 50:08Speaker 3: switch apps to have to watch Raw or SmackDown or
- 50:12Speaker 3: or p l e S or NXT or you know TNA. Now,
- 50:16Speaker 3: but like, what what are you able to catch during
- 50:19Speaker 3: the week?
- 50:21Speaker 4: Uh So every Monday religiously roll right, and I have
- 50:28Speaker 4: the Hulu that I can I can you know, I
- 50:31Speaker 4: just got that so I can get into the SmackDown.
- 50:33Speaker 4: Uh you know, yes, it was driven by the whole
- 50:36Speaker 4: A j Lee uh cmpunk and vision storyline, you know,
- 50:43Speaker 4: But I have that now, so with that I can
- 50:45Speaker 4: I can start dipping more into n X t H,
- 50:49Speaker 4: NXT lost me when they did that rebrand when they
- 50:54Speaker 4: were doing like the color splash theme and everything. So
- 50:58Speaker 4: to try and get back into that and see what
- 51:01Speaker 4: new material they have as far as characters, storylines, you know,
- 51:06Speaker 4: who's getting ready to come up into business. You know,
- 51:10Speaker 4: that would be interesting to see again for a while there.
- 51:15Speaker 4: I want to say, prior to twenty twenty three, late
- 51:18Speaker 4: twenty twenty three, I was into AW what was that
- 51:22Speaker 4: every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately that's fallen by the wayside.
- 51:28Speaker 4: I catch what I can on highlights or on reels.
- 51:32Speaker 4: But yeah, SmackDown and Raw that's my that's my church
- 51:37Speaker 4: every Monday and Friday.
- 51:43Speaker 3: Yeah, wrestling church. That's true. Man. I literally just try
- 51:47Speaker 3: to get it where I can and if I can
- 51:50Speaker 3: catch like an episode, I have like a bunch of
- 51:54Speaker 3: YouTube pages I follow that give me highlight reels. But yeah,
- 51:58Speaker 3: I think I try to stay up late. I mean,
- 52:01Speaker 3: you and me both, we got me up early. And
- 52:04Speaker 3: those those guys always wanted to extend Raw longer and
- 52:07Speaker 3: longer drives me nuts.
- 52:11Speaker 4: I heard for a while they're running the three hour
- 52:15Speaker 4: time format. I was surprised about after they initially went over.
- 52:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean honestly, we don't need the two the
- 52:23Speaker 3: three hour format. I wish we had two hours. It's
- 52:26Speaker 3: just all ads, dude. It's ads, long ass entrances. That's
- 52:34Speaker 3: what eats up all the time. I mean, there was
- 52:36Speaker 3: a time where Hulu would cut down an episode of
- 52:39Speaker 3: Raw or is it SmackDown? Yeah, they cut down an
- 52:42Speaker 3: episode of SmackDown or something like that down to like
- 52:44Speaker 3: an hour and twenty minutes, and it just cuts out
- 52:48Speaker 3: all the bullshit.
- 52:48Speaker 4: Goodness.
- 52:49Speaker 3: Yeah, dude, I mean it's amazing. I mean, even like
- 52:53Speaker 3: now when I had to review, I go back and
- 52:55Speaker 3: I review a pl E before I watch it again
- 53:00Speaker 3: for the second or third time, before you know the
- 53:04Speaker 3: the episode we're gonna record, and I'm just fast forward
- 53:07Speaker 3: through fucking ads all the time. It's like, holy shit,
- 53:10Speaker 3: Like you know, did the opening. It's very rare that
- 53:14Speaker 3: they started anything immediately. It's just h Michael Cole has
- 53:19Speaker 3: a lot of ship to say.
- 53:23Speaker 4: The ads were. The ads were very heavy on Friday.
- 53:26Speaker 4: I feel yeah, they were. They were pretty lengthy. Uh
- 53:31Speaker 4: And I can't remember who it was that commented on it,
- 53:33Speaker 4: But as far as like what was seen live to
- 53:37Speaker 4: what you saw on TV, there was like three segments
- 53:41Speaker 4: total on TV. Uh and then like the rest of
- 53:45Speaker 4: it was just commercials, you know, and it was ridiculous.
- 53:54Speaker 3: Yeah, sorry, uh raw Lake. Uh, it's it blows my
- 53:59Speaker 3: mind how many the ads that we have now, Like
- 54:01Speaker 3: in the middle of the ring, just like six seven ads.
- 54:04Speaker 3: The ring posts have ads, the prime station, the the aprons,
- 54:08Speaker 3: Like it's fucking ridiculous. But when I tune in SmackDown, Nope, none,
- 54:17Speaker 3: there's none, dude. The ring is clean, it's pure. I
- 54:22Speaker 3: love it. It's it is yeah, dude. I mean it's
- 54:26Speaker 3: it's very subtle that you don't realize it. I don't know.
- 54:33Speaker 3: For me, it's like, oh shit, that's right. There's no
- 54:34Speaker 3: there's no fucking ads, which kind of you know, some
- 54:37Speaker 3: people forget that. I guess we're kind of overlooking the ads.
- 54:41Speaker 3: We're trying to become numb to it. That like when
- 54:43Speaker 3: you go to somewhere where there's SmackDown, we don't have
- 54:45Speaker 3: any another place. A pl e that we didn't have
- 54:49Speaker 3: any this year was uh, the Saudi the when we
- 54:53Speaker 3: go over Saudi Arabia, there's no ads, no prime station.
- 54:57Speaker 3: Oh you know what, there might have been a prime station,
- 55:00Speaker 3: but there was no other ads though for sure, for
- 55:04Speaker 3: sure that that ring.
- 55:05Speaker 4: Was pure there was a prime station, because I believe
- 55:10Speaker 4: there was a prime station. No, I'm sorry, I'm thinking, but.
- 55:17Speaker 3: Yeah, uh.
- 55:20Speaker 4: Uh I. I saw a comment on uh on a
- 55:32Speaker 4: post as to the effect of somebody was trying to
- 55:34Speaker 4: blame it on Triple h you know, and and unfortunately
- 55:37Speaker 4: that man is catching a lot of heat for stuff
- 55:38Speaker 4: that he doesn't have control of. And I think that's
- 55:41Speaker 4: one of them. Like dude, he just creates storylines and
- 55:44Speaker 4: helps the action unfold. What does he have to do
- 55:48Speaker 4: with you know, who's who's stamping her name on the
- 55:51Speaker 4: center of the ring.
- 55:54Speaker 3: It's all about the.
- 55:57Speaker 4: Money, money, money, money, Shane O Mack.
- 56:03Speaker 3: Oh boy, Yeah, I think I think our next p
- 56:06Speaker 3: l E is Russell paloozasll what fuck, dude, Like, I
- 56:11Speaker 3: never thought I'd be saying those words, Wressell Palooza. Really,
- 56:17Speaker 3: we're gonna try to make this as big as WrestleMania.
- 56:20Speaker 4: I heard, Yeah, for basic television, that would be interesting.
- 56:27Speaker 3: No, this is PN, I believe.
- 56:32Speaker 4: Oh oh, I thought this was like on one of
- 56:35Speaker 4: their their extra ESPN channels.
- 56:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I believe this is for the first ESPN p
- 56:41Speaker 3: L E. Yeah. They It's crazy how quickly they were
- 56:47Speaker 3: to get off peacocks soon as they were like, well,
- 56:50Speaker 3: you know, we met our we met our quota, we
- 56:52Speaker 3: can leave early. It's like, I know we're contracted until
- 56:56Speaker 3: next year, but you know we're gonna leave a little early.
- 56:58Speaker 3: We're cool, right, you guys can you guys can keep
- 57:01Speaker 3: nxt though. You guys can do the nxtpls. But well,
- 57:05Speaker 3: where we're gonna leave, We're gonna go to ESPN, Sara,
- 57:11Speaker 3: and that fucked us because, like I was not prepared
- 57:15Speaker 3: to have to get ESPN plus now I was like, Okay,
- 57:19Speaker 3: this is next year. I got plenty of time to
- 57:22Speaker 3: figure the shit out. Nope.
- 57:24Speaker 4: Right, hey, hey fuck this man. It was surprising to see. Now.
- 57:31Speaker 4: I don't know if it was just specifically for Netflix
- 57:35Speaker 4: or if it was for, like you said, the other
- 57:38Speaker 4: stations that are carrying different events, but something to the
- 57:42Speaker 4: effect of Stephanie McMahon speaking out in favor of VPNs
- 57:46Speaker 4: and you know, being able to expand, Yeah, being able
- 57:51Speaker 4: to expand what you can see at you know, wherever
- 57:54Speaker 4: it's taking place, and then it significantly cuts down on
- 57:58Speaker 4: the cost of what you're paying to watch that event.
- 58:03Speaker 3: Yeah, you remember the w w appe. There's even a
- 58:09Speaker 3: fucking song for it.
- 58:13Speaker 4: I think they had like every wrestler any advertisements for it,
- 58:16Speaker 4: pushing it.
- 58:16Speaker 3: Oh nine ninety nine, bring it back, just like bring
- 58:19Speaker 3: that back, bring back the five dollars foot long like
- 58:23Speaker 3: damn man, amen God, simpler times, bring bring it back
- 58:29Speaker 3: to bring SmackDown back to antenna. It was free on
- 58:33Speaker 3: upn just free man. You know. Fuck, I have a dream, man,
- 58:42Speaker 3: I'm gonna and like one day we're gonna have everything
- 58:46Speaker 3: on one app all over again. Everything's just gonna be
- 58:48Speaker 3: one fucking.
- 58:49Speaker 4: App, centralized, maybe easy to acces'.
- 58:55Speaker 3: You know what it'll be when Disney fucking buys WW
- 58:58Speaker 3: and it's all Onney has all of it.
- 59:03Speaker 4: No, please don't no, because then you just you just
- 59:08Speaker 4: revert right back to the PG thirteen area.
- 59:11Speaker 3: It would go hard. It would go hard back to that.
- 59:16Speaker 3: I I you know, I was thinking about it. I
- 59:18Speaker 3: was like, at one point before they got business with TK,
- 59:22Speaker 3: I was like, man, what if like would be fucking
- 59:24Speaker 3: bananas if like Disney bought them, like they have the money,
- 59:28Speaker 3: it would it'd be crazy. That'd be that'd be crazy ship.
- 59:33Speaker 4: And that's and that's Disney's market too. Is investing in
- 59:36Speaker 4: something that the interest is there, the viewership is there,
- 59:42Speaker 4: and the merchandise sales are there, and like you said,
- 59:45Speaker 4: WW is right up there alley. But I mean, I
- 59:49Speaker 4: don't know. I think I think they probably know that
- 59:53Speaker 4: they would lose so many viewers doing that. Maybe that
- 59:59Speaker 4: it's not it's not an investment for them.
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: Maybe I mean maybe maybe so maybe not. I mean having,
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: like I've always said, the one thing that WW should
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: do in the United States. They have some over and Saudi's,
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: but they need to have a physical hall of fame,
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: physical hall of fame.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: I want to be able to be like, oh shit, dude,
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: like I don't know, in Florida, like where they did NXT,
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: Like there's a hall of fame, like down the road,
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: like we can go and you pay, I don't care.
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: It's like ten bucks to get in fifteen whatever, bro
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: go in there. There's boots, you know from Andre the Giant.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: There's you know, like a Boa from hul Cogan from
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: like WrestleMania six. I don't fucking know. Like, I don't know,
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: Like there's so much you could have, Like they have
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: warehouses just full of crap. I've seen videos.
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: They could have easily done that with with Titan towers,
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: you know, instead of selling it off, they could have
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: just Okay, let's take out all the office space, open
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: it up and set up booths for different decades, different wrestlers,
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: different factions, whatever, because you have so many floors and
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: so much space to do it. And I thought that
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: was the initial idea when they started doing Most Wanted Treasures, Yeah,
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: was to do something like that, and then you know,
- 1:01:22Speaker 4: it just never turned into anything other than them just
- 1:01:25Speaker 4: wanting to hoard. I don't know, I can't say that.
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: No, that is like they are they hord dude. It's
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: in warehouses, just fucking sitting there when I feel like
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: a lot of that shit could be on display somewhere
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: at like a hall of fame, whether it's a traveling
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: hall of Fame, even, you know, like they set up
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: at like at one of the conventions. They probably do,
- 1:01:46Speaker 3: they but it's not enough, man, Like I would love
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: the idea knowing that somewhere is a physical hall of fame,
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: that I can pack up a road trip with me
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: and a bunch of my PCW peeps and we can
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: drive out to the Hall of Fame.
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: Like a like a Madame Tissou's wax Museum. You know
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: what I mean. You have different locations. Maybe you do
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: the same characters, but different iterations at each location.
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: Oh like was that Ripley's Believe it or not? Like
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: there's one Yeah City, and I bet there's one in Wildwood,
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: Like oh hell yeah.
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: I was at the one in Wildwood. That one was
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: pretty sick.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: Yeah, that was pretty cool. In Ocean City I was
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: at last week.
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: Was that the one with the giant shark moving through it?
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: Yeah, that was the one that I was in. Yeah.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: Yeah. Man, Well, dude, like I appreciate you, you know, being
