- 1:51Speaker 3: Do celebrity brands have less credibility in the spirit world?
- 1:55Speaker 3: Like are they looked at as like, oh, this is
- 1:59Speaker 3: not credible because a celebrity owns it?
- 2:02Speaker 4: No?
- 2:03Speaker 5: But I think that's become the cookie cutter approach, Like
- 2:05Speaker 5: everybody now the who's your celebrity?
- 2:07Speaker 6: You're like, damn you could you.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Taste it first?
- 2:09Speaker 6: Ebody?
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 2:11Speaker 6: And then a lot of them don't work.
- 2:13Speaker 5: I think, you know, we all see the successes and
- 2:15Speaker 5: think like it's a recipe in a formula, and sometimes
- 2:17Speaker 5: it just isn't like that there's been a lot of
- 2:19Speaker 5: celebrity failures out there as well.
- 2:21Speaker 3: So let me ask you that it's a French name
- 2:24Speaker 3: that has well previously. I don't think it has it
- 2:28Speaker 3: on these bottles, but it has the locations of Frank
- 2:31Speaker 3: Central Pe went automatically expect it was owned by somebody black.
- 2:37Speaker 3: But you're doing interviews, so obviously you're you're in the forefront.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Do you ever think did you ever think about not
- 2:44Speaker 3: putting yourself out there, because a lot of times, unfortunately,
- 2:47Speaker 3: it's like once we realize something is black, it's too No. Well,
- 2:51Speaker 3: two things happen. The white people classified as black brand,
- 2:57Speaker 3: and even some black people might look at it different way.
- 3:00Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 3: So but then on the other side, you could put
- 3:04Speaker 3: you get supporting a black business, right like Carmelo, and
- 3:07Speaker 3: he probably did that because you're from Baltimore, you're black.
- 3:10Speaker 3: It's like, okay, he's black, he has a one, why
- 3:13Speaker 3: not show him love? So it's it can go either way.
- 3:16Speaker 3: But I can see how you know, being labeled as
- 3:18Speaker 3: like a black business a black brand can be harmful.
- 3:22Speaker 6: Yeah. So in the beginning, though I did not.
- 3:25Speaker 5: In my PR team, the PR team is like adamant
- 3:28Speaker 5: that I get out there and talk about myself being
- 3:30Speaker 5: the owner and founder because I had no interest. I
- 3:32Speaker 5: wanted the product to live on itself for that very reason,
- 3:34Speaker 5: I didn't want it to be stigmatized as like a
- 3:37Speaker 5: black on brand, and we deal with that to this day.
- 3:39Speaker 5: So I tell everybody, yes, it's owned by a black person,
- 3:41Speaker 5: but it's not only for black people.
- 3:42Speaker 6: And I have to say that because everyone's like black Rose.
- 3:44Speaker 5: I'm just like, come on, you know what I mean, Like, no,
- 3:47Speaker 5: it's a luxury rose from the south of France, from
- 3:49Speaker 5: Sanchol Pai that's owned by a black man.
- 3:51Speaker 6: So you totally get that.
- 3:54Speaker 5: I think the challenging part was to make sure that
- 3:57Speaker 5: it did look and feel luxury right, because you could
- 3:59Speaker 5: say your high end luxury wine and then the.
- 4:02Speaker 6: Ship be bootlegscuse my lag, We're sorry about that.
- 4:04Speaker 5: But so for us, it was it was important that
- 4:06Speaker 5: all everything about it felt like the competitive set. So
- 4:10Speaker 5: you can never say all but that's less than. There's
- 4:13Speaker 5: nothing less than about this product. We can go toe
- 4:15Speaker 5: to toe with the best of them. And I never
- 4:16Speaker 5: set my goals on being the number one black owned
- 4:19Speaker 5: rose brand in the world.
- 4:20Speaker 6: Now I want to be the number one rose brand
- 4:22Speaker 6: in the world period.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean so the white one obviously, and you
- 4:28Speaker 2: said you're going into red.
- 4:30Speaker 1: I'm just trying to think now, like.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Your putting you have the PR team yep, right, we
- 4:36Speaker 2: obviously know you're the owner who's coming up with the
- 4:39Speaker 2: ideas for expansion. Who's a part of the team that
- 4:42Speaker 2: that has helped this grow so fast in such a
- 4:46Speaker 2: short time, right, because we're talking maybe three to four years.
- 4:49Speaker 2: So who's the people that are around you that have
- 4:52Speaker 2: helped you get here in a sense of did you,
- 4:55Speaker 2: you know, create relationships as you've grown from brand obviously,
- 4:59Speaker 2: from owed to a spade obviously, maybe with the people
- 5:02Speaker 2: that the are you looking at people like as you're grown,
- 5:05Speaker 2: Like I like this person when I start mine, I
- 5:09Speaker 2: want to come back and find this part.
- 5:10Speaker 1: How did you build a team? Who is the team?
- 5:12Speaker 6: Yes?
- 5:12Speaker 5: When I built so the team is still only four
- 5:16Speaker 5: of us, which is crazy. We do a lot of
- 5:19Speaker 5: and that's the internal sales.
- 5:20Speaker 1: The whole team is almost in.
- 5:24Speaker 6: Yeah for the most part.
- 5:25Speaker 5: First, but again I take a very like outsourced mentality
- 5:30Speaker 5: to a lot of things. Right, so there's certain projects
- 5:32Speaker 5: will tap into the network. I know this person was
- 5:35Speaker 5: good at X when I worked on this brand. This
- 5:37Speaker 5: person was good at X when I worked on that brand.
- 5:39Speaker 5: You tap into them for those specific areas. The last
- 5:43Speaker 5: thing we wanted to do was to be so heavy
- 5:47Speaker 5: on salaries that we didn't have cash flow to do
- 5:50Speaker 5: what we needed to do to move So for the reason,
- 5:53Speaker 5: we didn't hire a lot of people. But yeah, we
- 5:55Speaker 5: definitely tap into those networks, Like there's group chats of
- 5:58Speaker 5: everything that happens labeled design behind Instagram captions, Like it
- 6:02Speaker 5: just flows around and then you have to bounce stuff
- 6:04Speaker 5: off of other people to really get that real input.
- 6:08Speaker 5: Not too many people because there's too many too much
- 6:10Speaker 5: feedback is bad. But the trusted in the circle through
- 6:13Speaker 5: over the years. Yeah, so let.
- 6:17Speaker 3: Me ask you this as far as the Rose and
- 6:21Speaker 3: the Blanco is concerned, Dude, you have an idea long
- 6:26Speaker 3: term vision, like in your perfect world, would it be
- 6:29Speaker 3: fifty to fifty split? Well, now you got the red
- 6:31Speaker 3: wine too, Is it like a fifty to fifty or
- 6:33Speaker 3: thirty three thirty three or is the Rose always going
- 6:36Speaker 3: to be the flagship product and the other ones are
- 6:39Speaker 3: kind of like ancillarious.
- 6:41Speaker 5: That's a good question, you know, ideally, because we started
- 6:45Speaker 5: with the Rose is going to it should always be
- 6:48Speaker 5: out flagship. But based upon the share market that white
- 6:51Speaker 5: wine and red wine has, you would think that they
- 6:54Speaker 5: will overtake the Rose someday. But for me personally, it's
- 6:58Speaker 5: gonna always be the Rose is a champion.
- 7:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:01Speaker 1: How much of your data is this consumed? Right?
- 7:04Speaker 2: Because do you have other interests outside of doing one?
- 7:07Speaker 1: Or is this wine is?
- 7:08Speaker 2: Because I'm listening to you talk and I'm like, you
- 7:10Speaker 2: know all the statistics for pretty well versed in this.
- 7:14Speaker 2: Does this consume most of your day or do you
- 7:16Speaker 2: have other interests and investment or something else?
- 7:19Speaker 5: I mean, for now, this is this is day in,
- 7:21Speaker 5: day out, and that's because we're at this inflection point
- 7:25Speaker 5: where you gotta either you go now or the window
- 7:27Speaker 5: and it's gonna be closed.
- 7:28Speaker 6: Right, So we have to focus. I have to focus.
- 7:31Speaker 5: It's important to know what my competitors doing, what's happening
- 7:34Speaker 5: in the space. So I spend a good portion of
- 7:36Speaker 5: my day. My girl will probably say, way too much
- 7:39Speaker 5: of my day this on this business.
- 7:41Speaker 2: So the people that you used to work for now
- 7:43Speaker 2: you're the biggest competitors, Oh for sure.
- 7:45Speaker 5: Yeah, and they all watching like you look at LinkedIn
- 7:48Speaker 5: and your Instagram story's like, oh all of them.
- 7:50Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, she's looking at my story.
- 7:52Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Has there been any negative issues, feedback or anything, you.
- 7:59Speaker 6: Mean from previous Yeah?
- 8:01Speaker 1: For sure.
- 8:01Speaker 5: I mean, uh, you know, Jay's a big name. People
- 8:06Speaker 5: use his name for clickbait. I don't say it, but
- 8:08Speaker 5: people see aces spades and then it becomes like, oh
- 8:11Speaker 5: you work for jay Z. I never say that, you
- 8:12Speaker 5: know what I mean? So you deal with that. I
- 8:16Speaker 5: haven't heard that personally, but I know that's probably a
- 8:19Speaker 5: sore spot over there, right. And then for the previous company,
- 8:24Speaker 5: you know, they never think they never thought that I
- 8:27Speaker 5: could leave and do something like this. So and we're
- 8:30Speaker 5: growing and we and we're nipping at their heels and
- 8:32Speaker 5: we are the younger, cooler, great tasting rose.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Like you want to say something, Yeah.
- 8:44Speaker 4: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 8:47Speaker 4: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 8:51Speaker 4: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 8:56Speaker 4: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 9:00Speaker 4: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 9:03Speaker 4: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy nom the United States
- 9:07Speaker 4: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 9:12Speaker 4: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 9:15Speaker 4: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 9:19Speaker 4: are here illegally, your next you will be fine nearly
- 9:23Speaker 4: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned and deported, you will
- 9:27Speaker 4: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 9:30Speaker 4: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws,
- 9:39Speaker 4: border and families will be protected.
- 9:42Speaker 6: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
