- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hawtgrel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is
- 0:19Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day. I for you'd become
- 0:24Speaker 1: the hot girl energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
- 0:27Speaker 1: Happy Wednesday, Welcome back to another episode. I am officially
- 0:33Speaker 1: home from Miami. Oh my goodness, guys, that trip was
- 0:39Speaker 1: honestly probably one of the best trips I've actually ever
- 0:41Speaker 1: been on.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Like I'm not even over exaggerating.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Zach and I had the best time in Miami, to
- 0:47Speaker 1: the point where we were literally talking about buying a house.
- 0:50Speaker 1: We were like, imagine buying a house in Miami or
- 0:53Speaker 1: a condo or whatever the.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Case may be. Like, we absolutely loved it.
- 0:58Speaker 1: The vibe was great, people were great, the just the
- 1:02Speaker 1: overall atmosphere just felt so like, I don't know, I
- 1:05Speaker 1: don't even know how to explain it. It just was
- 1:07Speaker 1: such a peaceful and fun town. And I love the
- 1:12Speaker 1: mix of Miami and I think I kind of mentioned
- 1:14Speaker 1: the last episode of how Like, I just feel like
- 1:17Speaker 1: it hits every single aspect of like you have the
- 1:20Speaker 1: wellness side you have the party side, you have you know,
- 1:22Speaker 1: the beach side.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Like I feel like.
- 1:24Speaker 1: There's just like such a huge combination of everything. And yeah,
- 1:28Speaker 1: we absolutely loved it. Like we always started our mornings
- 1:30Speaker 1: off with a morning walk across They have like a
- 1:33Speaker 1: little sidewalk that is right along the ocean, So we
- 1:36Speaker 1: walked like twenty to twenty five minutes to our breakfast spot.
- 1:40Speaker 1: In the morning, we would go to Piavida, which everyone
- 1:43Speaker 1: was like raving about to go to, and it totally
- 1:46Speaker 1: exceeded my expectations. It was amazing, just really good like breakfast, sandwiches, wraps, smoothies, coffees,
- 1:52Speaker 1: all that, and then we'd walk back for another twenty
- 1:55Speaker 1: to twenty five minutes and then we'd go to the gym.
- 1:57Speaker 1: The gym at the hotel we were staying at was phenomenal.
- 2:00Speaker 2: It was massive.
- 2:01Speaker 1: So I don't know, we got like our little wellness
- 2:03Speaker 1: fix in by doing our walk, getting our healthy breakfasts,
- 2:06Speaker 1: getting a workout in, and then would get ready to
- 2:08Speaker 1: go to the beach and literally just like chill by.
- 2:10Speaker 2: The pool and beach and shoot content and all that.
- 2:12Speaker 2: But it was such a fun trip.
- 2:14Speaker 1: If you've never been to Miami, I highly, highly highly
- 2:18Speaker 1: recommend it.
- 2:18Speaker 2: We stayed at the one hotel.
- 2:20Speaker 1: That hotel was probably one of the nicest hotels I've
- 2:23Speaker 1: ever stayed at, and I've been wanting to stay at
- 2:26Speaker 1: this hotel for a very long time. I've seen a
- 2:28Speaker 1: lot of influencers just talk about this hotel and just
- 2:31Speaker 1: saying how how worth it is your money. It is
- 2:34Speaker 1: obviously a bit on the price of your side, but
- 2:36Speaker 1: they were just saying like how great the experience was
- 2:40Speaker 1: and how beautiful the resort was all that. So when
- 2:43Speaker 1: Zach and I booked it and we got to stay there,
- 2:45Speaker 1: we were super excited and it totally exceeded our expectations.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Like there was I think like seven or eight different restaurants,
- 2:52Speaker 1: there was four different pools. Like I don't even think
- 2:55Speaker 1: we saw the whole hotel, Like we spent two hours
- 2:58Speaker 1: the first day just walking through the hotel just trying
- 3:01Speaker 1: to like get an understanding of where things were. And
- 3:04Speaker 1: I still don't think we hit everywhere, Like we didn't
- 3:07Speaker 1: even go to the rooftop portion of the hotel because
- 3:09Speaker 1: again it was just so big that there was so
- 3:11Speaker 1: much to do and so much to see, and like
- 3:14Speaker 1: we didn't even get to maximize the entire time while
- 3:16Speaker 1: we were there.
- 3:16Speaker 2: So obviously we have to go.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Back, and we're gonna have to hit areas that we
- 3:20Speaker 1: never hit before.
- 3:21Speaker 2: But if you're looking.
- 3:22Speaker 1: At either a bacherette or a weekend trip with your
- 3:26Speaker 1: girlfriends or with your husband or partner or boyfriend, highly
- 3:31Speaker 1: recommend staying at that hotel. It was truly insane. So yeah,
- 3:34Speaker 1: it was a great trip. I was actually there with
- 3:36Speaker 1: Dynamite Clothing. I was actually shooting a lot of their
- 3:40Speaker 1: summer collection, so a lot of it was work related.
- 3:43Speaker 1: But I mean, work for me is always fun. Right,
- 3:45Speaker 1: we're obviously recording, we're shooting content. Zach and I love
- 3:48Speaker 1: shooting content together. I think it's such a fun thing
- 3:51Speaker 1: to do. And I don't know, Zach and I are
- 3:54Speaker 1: like best friends, and I think that's what makes a
- 3:56Speaker 1: relationship work so well, is when you are best friends
- 3:59Speaker 1: with your partner. Every time, I think just is fun together.
- 4:02Speaker 1: And so doing work together was super fun, and he
- 4:06Speaker 1: low key loved doing it, and he was like, honestly,
- 4:10Speaker 1: I need to find a remote job. I need to,
- 4:12Speaker 1: you know, figure out something with construction that I can
- 4:15Speaker 1: do remotely. Because we were both like, imagine coming and
- 4:19Speaker 1: living in Miami during the winter season, because obviously our
- 4:22Speaker 1: winters are so bad here that we just wanted to
- 4:26Speaker 1: think about ways that we can like kind of get
- 4:29Speaker 1: the best of both worlds where we're able to live
- 4:31Speaker 1: at home, you know, throughout the spring and summer season
- 4:34Speaker 1: and fall and then like from like January to April,
- 4:37Speaker 1: so like literally only four months out of the year,
- 4:39Speaker 1: which is obviously a small portion of it, but being
- 4:41Speaker 1: able to like either own a property or rent a
- 4:43Speaker 1: property in Florida during the off season would be like
- 4:47Speaker 1: a dream of ours.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Except because Zach.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Works in construction obviously has to be like physically there
- 4:54Speaker 1: for his job obviously makes it a little difficult.
- 4:57Speaker 2: So who knows. We'll see what the future holds.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Obviously there's opportunities of change and opportunities of growth for
- 5:04Speaker 1: him within this company that he works for, So we'll
- 5:07Speaker 1: see what the future holds. But it was just kind
- 5:09Speaker 1: of fun to talk about like future plans obviously, and
- 5:12Speaker 1: just like things that we both were kind of like
- 5:14Speaker 1: aligned on, and yeah, all in all, it.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Was a very fun trip.
- 5:18Speaker 1: If you guys followed me on TikTok or Instagram, then
- 5:21Speaker 1: I'm sure you guys saw some of the content that
- 5:22Speaker 1: we were doing when we were in Miami, but I
- 5:25Speaker 1: had the opportunity of meeting one of my podcast girlies
- 5:28Speaker 1: and followers. Oh my gosh, guys, I met this amazing
- 5:33Speaker 1: girl named Mary Lenna. She is literally the sweetest human
- 5:36Speaker 1: being ever. If you guys saw the video that I posted.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I ended up surprising her on her baucherette. Her girlfriend,
- 5:42Speaker 1: Gabriella sent me a message on Instagram. She just DMed
- 5:46Speaker 1: me and she was like, I'd love to try and
- 5:47Speaker 1: connect something in terms of surprising my girlfriend for her boucharette.
- 5:51Speaker 1: We're here at the same hotel as you guys, like
- 5:53Speaker 1: we'd love for you to surprise her.
- 5:55Speaker 2: As soon as I saw that.
- 5:56Speaker 1: DM, I was like, oh my gosh, we need to
- 5:58Speaker 1: we need to do this, Like this.
- 5:59Speaker 2: Would be so fun.
- 6:01Speaker 1: And obviously I love meeting you guys in person, so
- 6:03Speaker 1: that for me was like, oh my god, this is
- 6:05Speaker 1: gonna be so fun. So as soon as she sent
- 6:07Speaker 1: me that message, we were like kind of trying to
- 6:09Speaker 1: figure out a plan in terms of like when I
- 6:11Speaker 1: can go to their room to surprise them.
- 6:13Speaker 2: She gave me their room number.
- 6:14Speaker 1: I met Gabriella in the lobby just to kind of
- 6:16Speaker 1: get a rundown of the plan, and then I went
- 6:19Speaker 1: upstairs to the room, knocked on the door, and yeah,
- 6:22Speaker 1: it just from there it was just so much excitement
- 6:25Speaker 1: and so fun and yeah, it just was truly the
- 6:29Speaker 1: sweetest reaction. You guys need to go see the video
- 6:31Speaker 1: on Instagram and TikTok. It truly was like one thing
- 6:34Speaker 1: that really made my trip. It was like one of
- 6:36Speaker 1: the best highlights of the trip, just to meet fellow
- 6:39Speaker 1: followers and podcast listeners. And I wish I could come
- 6:42Speaker 1: to every single one of your baucherette's or weddings or
- 6:47Speaker 1: whatever just to meet you guys, because it honestly, like,
- 6:49Speaker 1: I get so excited meeting you guys, and it makes
- 6:52Speaker 1: me so happy that you guys are happy, because obviously
- 6:54Speaker 1: your support just means so much to me, and I
- 6:56Speaker 1: wouldn't be here without you guys. So it was such
- 6:59Speaker 1: a fun way to include that in the trip. And yeah,
- 7:03Speaker 1: oh my god, it was just so so sweet.
- 7:05Speaker 2: But that's a little update of Miami.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I hope more trips like that are in the future
- 7:09Speaker 1: for us, because Zach and I really do love traveling
- 7:11Speaker 1: together and this is our year of travel. I find
- 7:13Speaker 1: I think we've definitely spent a lot of time traveling,
- 7:16Speaker 1: but that's I think because we're, you know, trying to
- 7:19Speaker 1: get as much in as we can before we start
- 7:22Speaker 1: to settle down and start a family and all that. So, yeah,
- 7:27Speaker 1: we're just trying to enjoy our time together and do
- 7:29Speaker 1: these fun little like last minute weekend trips or just yeah,
- 7:34Speaker 1: really get out and just enjoy some vacation time him
- 7:36Speaker 1: and I. And yeah, we've obviously been enjoying the newlywed phase.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I think everyone can agree that the first year of
- 7:41Speaker 1: marriage is such a fun era. And yeah, Zach and
- 7:45Speaker 1: I have just been having the best time enjoying traveling
- 7:48Speaker 1: and just some freedom. And yeah, all in knowledge has
- 7:52Speaker 1: been like really fun to do these spontaneous trips together.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I want to talk about something very specific in this episode.
- 7:58Speaker 1: I think a lot of us are dealing with a
- 7:59Speaker 1: lot of def eras in our life currently, and I
- 8:01Speaker 1: think these points that I'm about to make are going
- 8:04Speaker 1: to hit at least one or two of these things
- 8:07Speaker 1: in your life currently that I think you can relate
- 8:09Speaker 1: to that I want to share with you guys. This
- 8:12Speaker 1: doesn't really have anything to do with the summer season specifically,
- 8:15Speaker 1: but I do think in the summer, obviously we're more social,
- 8:19Speaker 1: we want to get outside more, we want to do
- 8:21Speaker 1: things with our friends, all that, And I think there's
- 8:24Speaker 1: a lot of fomo when it comes to certain things
- 8:28Speaker 1: in life. So fomo if you guys don't know what
- 8:30Speaker 1: that means, it means the fear of missing out. So
- 8:33Speaker 1: there's things obviously happening with your friends or people that
- 8:36Speaker 1: you see on social media or people that you look
- 8:38Speaker 1: up to that you might have FOMO about and might
- 8:41Speaker 1: make you feel like, you know, why am I not
- 8:44Speaker 1: there in my career or why am I not there
- 8:47Speaker 1: in terms of my era in that life, like why
- 8:49Speaker 1: can't I be like her? And obviously I experience my
- 8:52Speaker 1: own types of fomos that I think I will really
- 8:55Speaker 1: touch on that might relate to you guys in something
- 8:57Speaker 1: that you're feeling currently.
- 8:59Speaker 2: With this time and this phase in your life.
- 9:03Speaker 1: And I want to make it very clear that this
- 9:05Speaker 1: is just like my opinion on how to take these
- 9:09Speaker 1: things and switch it in a way that doesn't make
- 9:12Speaker 1: you feel like you have this fomo right, Like we're
- 9:14Speaker 1: trying to create a way of kind of like reflecting
- 9:18Speaker 1: back on like Okay, well, yes, this person is experiencing
- 9:21Speaker 1: this in their life now, but we need to stop
- 9:24Speaker 1: comparing ourselves to that person because we're all on our
- 9:27Speaker 1: own timeline. Like I'm going to kind of phrase it
- 9:30Speaker 1: in that way in terms of, like, this is what
- 9:32Speaker 1: people experience for this kind of fomo, and then this
- 9:35Speaker 1: is how we're going to overcome it. So that's how
- 9:36Speaker 1: we're going to kind of do it, is I'm going
- 9:38Speaker 1: to provide the overcome of how to avoid this feeling
- 9:42Speaker 1: of fomo for this certain thing that you might be
- 9:45Speaker 1: feeling fomo of, and how to overcome it. So for
- 9:48Speaker 1: the first one, we're going to talk about travel fomo
- 9:51Speaker 1: because I think this is obviously a big one. I
- 9:53Speaker 1: think specifically on social media, I think there's a lot
- 9:55Speaker 1: of people that you see that are traveling constantly, or
- 9:58Speaker 1: there could be friends that you see that are you know,
- 10:01Speaker 1: have a really flexible job and they're always going on
- 10:03Speaker 1: these random trips and whatever the case may be.
- 10:05Speaker 2: You may be seeing people.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Going to Europe or you know, spontaneous weekend trips all that,
- 10:10Speaker 1: and so you might be feeling left out in a
- 10:13Speaker 1: way where it's like, oh, I'm young, I should be traveling,
- 10:15Speaker 1: I should be you know, spending my money on these
- 10:18Speaker 1: opportunities like I shouldn't be here working at this desk
- 10:20Speaker 1: and you know, not booking that trip all that, and
- 10:23Speaker 1: so how to overcome this is that you don't need
- 10:26Speaker 1: to spend all this money to go these luxury places
- 10:30Speaker 1: to feel left out. You can be a tourist in
- 10:32Speaker 1: your own city. You can even you know, go to
- 10:35Speaker 1: spontaneous weekend trips with things that are close driving distance,
- 10:38Speaker 1: Like you can find ways to make yourself feel like
- 10:42Speaker 1: you're traveling as well by overcoming it in a way
- 10:46Speaker 1: where you could make it more local, right, whether it's
- 10:48Speaker 1: you know, being a tourist in your own city, going camping,
- 10:51Speaker 1: or again booking a weekend trip somewhere that's in close
- 10:54Speaker 1: proximity that you can drive to. But I think another
- 10:57Speaker 1: thing to really highlight is this might be opportunity, in
- 11:00Speaker 1: an eye opening experience for you to maybe start saving money,
- 11:04Speaker 1: start looking at your financial situation. Okay, I'm going to
- 11:07Speaker 1: start taking xyz amount of money out of my account
- 11:10Speaker 1: every month or every time I get a paycheck. That
- 11:13Speaker 1: way I can start saving for that Europe trip that
- 11:15Speaker 1: I've always wanted to go on and make that your goal.
- 11:18Speaker 1: So almost see this as a way of motivating yourself
- 11:21Speaker 1: to go on that European summer trip that you've been
- 11:24Speaker 1: wanting to go on next summer. Make it a goal,
- 11:26Speaker 1: be like, Okay, you know, if you're getting this motive
- 11:29Speaker 1: in this drive to go to Europe and you want
- 11:32Speaker 1: to experience that travel experience that everyone's you know, experiencing
- 11:35Speaker 1: this summer, Okay, then take this as a motive to Okay,
- 11:38Speaker 1: I'm going to start saving money. I'm going to start
- 11:40Speaker 1: putting money aside. That way, this time next year, I
- 11:43Speaker 1: get to experience that exact summer that I wanted to
- 11:46Speaker 1: experience because I was able to save money and use
- 11:50Speaker 1: it towards my dream Europe trip. So that's kind of
- 11:53Speaker 1: like the way to overcome it. Almost see it as
- 11:55Speaker 1: a goal now of like, Okay, well this is what
- 11:57Speaker 1: I want to achieve. How am I going to achieve
- 11:59Speaker 1: it by doing this in order to go? But again,
- 12:02Speaker 1: as I said, if you really want to experience that
- 12:04Speaker 1: travel summer this summer, then the best way to do
- 12:07Speaker 1: it is just really just trying to take advantage of
- 12:09Speaker 1: visiting different spots in your local places and being a
- 12:12Speaker 1: tourist in your own city. Another fomo that I think
- 12:14Speaker 1: a lot of people might have is friendships, so not
- 12:17Speaker 1: feeling included when it comes to, you know, group gatherings
- 12:21Speaker 1: or group outings. I've definitely had experiences like this myself,
- 12:24Speaker 1: where you know, I see my group of friends get
- 12:27Speaker 1: together without inviting me, or you know, there was just
- 12:30Speaker 1: some miscommunication in terms of like not including everyone all
- 12:33Speaker 1: that just seeing them have barbecues, hangouts, et cetera. And
- 12:37Speaker 1: I think the best way to overcome this is maybe
- 12:41Speaker 1: start investing your time in people who actually make time
- 12:45Speaker 1: for you. So if you're seeing this group of girls
- 12:48Speaker 1: that are constantly together and they never include you, then
- 12:51Speaker 1: maybe that's not people that you want to invest your
- 12:53Speaker 1: time in. It's not about the amount of friends you have,
- 12:56Speaker 1: It's about the quality of the friends that you do have.
- 12:59Speaker 1: So if you see that you know, one or two
- 13:02Speaker 1: of your friends are always constantly including you in everything
- 13:05Speaker 1: and always constantly reaching out asking you know what you're doing,
- 13:08Speaker 1: and wanting to include you in everything, then those are
- 13:11Speaker 1: the true friends that you want to keep close to,
- 13:14Speaker 1: And those are the friends that you actually want to
- 13:15Speaker 1: make the effort in in doing things with. So don't always,
- 13:20Speaker 1: you know, feel that you need to be included with
- 13:23Speaker 1: these friends, and at the end of the day, they
- 13:26Speaker 1: might not be people that you actually want to associate
- 13:29Speaker 1: yourself with. Instead, connect yourself with those small group of
- 13:32Speaker 1: friends that actually do care and want to spend time
- 13:35Speaker 1: with you, and you yourself, initiate plans, make fun things
- 13:38Speaker 1: that you want to do this summer, whether it's you know,
- 13:40Speaker 1: going to the beach together, planning a ice cream day,
- 13:43Speaker 1: watching the sunset, like, initiate those things with people that
- 13:46Speaker 1: you actually want to spend time with and that actually
- 13:48Speaker 1: want to spend time with you. So again, that's kind
- 13:51Speaker 1: of how to overcome it is really just kind of
- 13:53Speaker 1: take the initiative in your own hands by executing hangouts
- 13:58Speaker 1: with people that you truly care about and that you
- 14:01Speaker 1: know care about you.
- 14:02Speaker 2: And I think even for myself.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Right now, like being in my almost my thirties honestly,
- 14:07Speaker 1: which is so crazy. A lot of my friends are
- 14:08Speaker 1: actually turning thirty later this year, and I'm starting to
- 14:12Speaker 1: realize that as we get older, it's definitely become more
- 14:16Speaker 1: and more difficult to see each other. And I think
- 14:18Speaker 1: I've started to realize that that's okay as long as
- 14:21Speaker 1: like we're all trying to find ways to still somewhat
- 14:25Speaker 1: see each other is important. So I think I mentioned
- 14:28Speaker 1: this in a few episodes back, or maybe even last
- 14:31Speaker 1: week's episode. I can't remember, But one thing that I've
- 14:33Speaker 1: been doing with my friends is that every Friday, we've
- 14:35Speaker 1: been going on a hawk girl walk together at seven am.
- 14:38Speaker 1: And whoever can come, great, whoever can't. Not a big deal,
- 14:41Speaker 1: but the fact that we're all trying to see each
- 14:44Speaker 1: other once a week by doing something that a is
- 14:48Speaker 1: great for your mental health, just getting outside walking, getting
- 14:51Speaker 1: some movement in, being able just to chat and catch
- 14:54Speaker 1: up with everyone and just like everyone feeling included and
- 14:57Speaker 1: no one's been left out. And it's just like kind
- 14:59Speaker 1: of a nice way to kind of get that just
- 15:02Speaker 1: like quick little catch up together. And yeah, I don't know,
- 15:05Speaker 1: go about our lives by you know, people who are
- 15:08Speaker 1: moms dealing with their kids, people who are newly married,
- 15:11Speaker 1: trying to you know, move into a house, all that.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Like, people still have their busy lives.
- 15:15Speaker 1: But the fact that we were all able to take
- 15:16Speaker 1: an hour of our time that day to just like
- 15:18Speaker 1: connect and just touch base shows that we all care
- 15:22Speaker 1: and that we all put the effort of being here
- 15:25Speaker 1: and doing this you know, fun thing together and getting
- 15:28Speaker 1: some movement in. So I think, yeah, at the end
- 15:31Speaker 1: of the day, just invest time and make time for
- 15:34Speaker 1: people that truly do care about you. And the ones
- 15:36Speaker 1: that care are going to make the effort of doing
- 15:38Speaker 1: these little things of you know, setting a time for
- 15:41Speaker 1: an hour of your day just to like go on
- 15:43Speaker 1: a walk and just connect and touch base and all that.
- 15:46Speaker 1: So it's important to just really surround yourself with people
- 15:49Speaker 1: that truly do care about you and not yeah, be
- 15:52Speaker 1: around the people who aren't inviting you and not including you.
- 15:55Speaker 1: It's just like why put your energy in those people
- 15:57Speaker 1: when they're not putting the energy and wanting you there.
- 16:00Speaker 1: So that's where I'll end it on that. Another thing
- 16:02Speaker 1: that a lot of people have fomo from is not
- 16:04Speaker 1: having the perfect summer. Like I think everyone has this
- 16:07Speaker 1: pressure where you have to do everything you can, and
- 16:10Speaker 1: I think at the end of the day, most people
- 16:13Speaker 1: aren't living that summer dream every single day. Like, of course,
- 16:16Speaker 1: we all have jobs, we all have careers, we all
- 16:18Speaker 1: want to work hard, but I think everybody needs to
- 16:21Speaker 1: define their own version of a great summer. So this
- 16:24Speaker 1: might be you know, starting a new hobby, this might
- 16:27Speaker 1: mean you want to rest a lot on the weekends
- 16:29Speaker 1: or spend a lot of alone time. But I think
- 16:32Speaker 1: it's important to take in the little things that I've
- 16:35Speaker 1: talked about so much on this podcast, which is just
- 16:38Speaker 1: romanticizing the little things in life. So maybe waking up
- 16:41Speaker 1: earlier and romanticizing your mornings by you know, going to
- 16:45Speaker 1: a workout class, going on a walk, you know, making
- 16:48Speaker 1: a healthy breakfast, lighting a candle, doing your journaling. Like
- 16:51Speaker 1: that right there, could make your summer by doing that
- 16:54Speaker 1: every single morning, by actually taking that extra hour of
- 16:57Speaker 1: your morning, by dedicating time to yourself and romanticizing the
- 17:01Speaker 1: shit out of your life. So it could be reading
- 17:04Speaker 1: a book, it could be oh, the last hour of
- 17:06Speaker 1: the day after dinner, you spend time with your husband,
- 17:09Speaker 1: and you know, you go to the beach and you
- 17:12Speaker 1: watch the sunset, you read a book, you chill, you
- 17:14Speaker 1: go get ice cream, whatever the case may be. Like,
- 17:16Speaker 1: summer doesn't always have to be around traveling and like
- 17:20Speaker 1: making plants with your friends every single day and you know,
- 17:23Speaker 1: doing something fun every single weekend. Like it could be
- 17:26Speaker 1: literally the chilliest and most relaxing summer if that's what
- 17:30Speaker 1: you want your summer to be. I kind of describe
- 17:33Speaker 1: my summer bucket list last episode, and those are things
- 17:36Speaker 1: that I want to do this summer. I Okay, not
- 17:39Speaker 1: everybody has to do those things, but that to me
- 17:42Speaker 1: is like how I define how I want to spend
- 17:44Speaker 1: my summer. That might not be how you want to
- 17:46Speaker 1: define your summer. So just look at it as you
- 17:49Speaker 1: need to do what you want to do for your summer.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Everybody wants different things. And if you want to have
- 17:54Speaker 1: a relaxing summer, have a relaxing summer. If you want
- 17:56Speaker 1: to have a travel summer and you want to go
- 17:58Speaker 1: to Europe, then make that your goal. But I think
- 18:01Speaker 1: obviously social media is a hard thing because we obviously
- 18:04Speaker 1: see a lot of people doing things and like you
- 18:06Speaker 1: want to be like that, but like, let's just be honest,
- 18:08Speaker 1: that's not the reality. We're not doing all those things
- 18:10Speaker 1: every single day, at every single minute.
- 18:12Speaker 2: It's important to just realize.
- 18:14Speaker 1: That it's okay to just like focus on work and
- 18:18Speaker 1: focus on things that are most important. And then you know,
- 18:21Speaker 1: maybe it's just dedicating a day a week, one day
- 18:24Speaker 1: a week, whether it's on a Saturday or a Sunday,
- 18:26Speaker 1: and you dedicate that one day to doing something fun
- 18:28Speaker 1: that week, so it makes your summer. So that's kind
- 18:31Speaker 1: of how you know I've been doing it. I think
- 18:33Speaker 1: I've talked to you guys about that last week's episode,
- 18:35Speaker 1: just about like dedicating days of doing certain things has
- 18:38Speaker 1: made helped me trying to achieve a lot of the
- 18:40Speaker 1: things that I wanted to achieve this summer. But again,
- 18:43Speaker 1: that might look different for someone else. So just don't
- 18:46Speaker 1: put all this pressure on yourself. There's no such thing
- 18:48Speaker 1: as the perfect life or the perfect summer. All we
- 18:51Speaker 1: can do is strive to have the best summer and
- 18:54Speaker 1: strive to become the best version of ourself.
- 18:57Speaker 2: And yeah, just like not let the pressure of being
- 19:00Speaker 2: get in the way.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Another big thing that people have Foe Mobile is working
- 19:04Speaker 1: and not knowing what they're going to do for the career.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Like there might be some people right now that are
- 19:09Speaker 1: in a career that they hate and they're just doing
- 19:12Speaker 1: it because it's the money that is coming in that
- 19:15Speaker 1: that's why they're doing it. And I think it's important
- 19:19Speaker 1: to realize that that's okay.
- 19:22Speaker 2: If you're in that situation.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I think it allows you to maybe kind of think
- 19:28Speaker 1: about and realize, like, maybe this isn't the right path
- 19:31Speaker 1: for myself and kind of like redefine how you want
- 19:36Speaker 1: to see your life and how you want to get
- 19:38Speaker 1: a new career. Again, this kind of all goes back
- 19:40Speaker 1: to goals that you want to achieve for yourself. So
- 19:43Speaker 1: if you're in this career that you hate, but you
- 19:45Speaker 1: really want to be in a career that you love,
- 19:47Speaker 1: then make it a goal for yourself to figure out, Okay,
- 19:49Speaker 1: what are the steps that I need to take in
- 19:51Speaker 1: order to get to the career that I want for myself.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Maybe you have a dream of being a veterinarian or
- 19:57Speaker 1: being a lawyer, and right now you're, you know, just
- 20:00Speaker 1: working as a I.
- 20:02Speaker 2: Don't know, cashier in a retail store.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Let's just say that, then maybe you need to consider
- 20:06Speaker 1: again looking at maybe going back to school or maybe
- 20:10Speaker 1: taking online courses like start focusing on the bigger goals
- 20:14Speaker 1: by actually making the effort of doing these things to
- 20:18Speaker 1: get to the big goal. So could be applying to
- 20:21Speaker 1: a few jobs to get you to that point of
- 20:23Speaker 1: that big career that you want to do. Maybe if
- 20:25Speaker 1: you want to become an influencer or a podcast host
- 20:27Speaker 1: or whatever the case may be dedicating time on your
- 20:30Speaker 1: weekends by putting in the effort of filming that content,
- 20:34Speaker 1: posting that content, all that. So it's all about making
- 20:38Speaker 1: these you know, small tasks to get to the big goal.
- 20:41Speaker 1: And so yeah, just realize that, like, of course, everyone
- 20:44Speaker 1: kind of goes through career slums and like feels lost
- 20:47Speaker 1: and they don't know what to do. But I think
- 20:48Speaker 1: you have to really focus on, Okay, we need to
- 20:51Speaker 1: create these goals for ourselves to get to the big
- 20:53Speaker 1: end goal, which is I want to be you know,
- 20:56Speaker 1: a surgeon or a veterinarian or whatever. How am I
- 20:58Speaker 1: going to get there? Okay, going to be by going
- 21:01Speaker 1: back to school, taking more courses, apply to a few jobs,
- 21:05Speaker 1: finding ways to connect with people, maybe in the networking
- 21:08Speaker 1: industry all that.
- 21:09Speaker 2: So just know that there's always a way.
- 21:11Speaker 1: To change your life and change your career as long
- 21:14Speaker 1: as you have goals that you set your mind to.
- 21:17Speaker 1: This next one is kind of about dating and just
- 21:20Speaker 1: like Hawk Girl Summer and being single and all that.
- 21:23Speaker 1: So I think there's a lot of people that might
- 21:26Speaker 1: be going through this period in life where they've been
- 21:29Speaker 1: single for a very long time and you know, they
- 21:32Speaker 1: are a little jealous of seeing maybe their friends and
- 21:35Speaker 1: relationships are just jealous around you know, seeing their friends
- 21:38Speaker 1: date a lot all that. So to overcome this, I
- 21:42Speaker 1: think you need to date yourself. I think you need
- 21:45Speaker 1: to enjoy more solo time with yourself, take yourself on
- 21:48Speaker 1: more dates, fall in love with yourself, because if you
- 21:51Speaker 1: don't love yourself, it's going to be hard to fall
- 21:55Speaker 1: in love with someone else, because you need to be
- 21:57Speaker 1: able to have that confidence and love for yourself that
- 22:02Speaker 1: you can just build by doing these things, by really
- 22:06Speaker 1: just taking yourself on more solo dates and more solo time,
- 22:10Speaker 1: and it creates more confidence in yourself. And I just
- 22:13Speaker 1: think all in all, it's okay to have a solo
- 22:15Speaker 1: summer and just have fun with it. And when you see,
- 22:19Speaker 1: you know, your friends going on these dates and all that, like,
- 22:21Speaker 1: don't take it personally. Like, think about again, what is
- 22:24Speaker 1: your end goal? You don't want to end up with
- 22:26Speaker 1: someone that you're just you know, because your friends are dating. Like, Okay,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I'm just going to date this guy because my friends
- 22:31Speaker 1: are dating, and like this guy's average whatever. Like you
- 22:34Speaker 1: want to find someone that's a good person, a good guy,
- 22:38Speaker 1: someone that you're really attracted to, Like, you don't want
- 22:41Speaker 1: to just settle on some random person just because you
- 22:43Speaker 1: wanted to have this need of dating someone and not be.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Single this summer.
- 22:48Speaker 1: So this is your sign that if you feel like
- 22:52Speaker 1: you're in that type of situation, then you need to
- 22:54Speaker 1: start looking at yourself, dating yourself, taking more solo dates,
- 22:58Speaker 1: maybe also finding friends that are also say so that
- 23:00Speaker 1: way you're not feeling you know, left out in that
- 23:02Speaker 1: type of sense. That way you can spend more time
- 23:04Speaker 1: with those people who can kind of relate to you
- 23:06Speaker 1: in the same type of situation where you guys are
- 23:08Speaker 1: both single, just trying to enjoy your own summer hawk
- 23:11Speaker 1: girls summer all that. There's also the other side of
- 23:14Speaker 1: seeing girls who might be in a relationship like myself
- 23:17Speaker 1: for a very long period of time, and then all
- 23:19Speaker 1: of your friends are single having the hawk girl summer vibes,
- 23:22Speaker 1: you know, dating all that, and you're kind of like, oh,
- 23:24Speaker 1: I've been in a serious relationship for like four to
- 23:26Speaker 1: five years, Like all the girls are having fun and
- 23:29Speaker 1: I'm not, Like you can still have fun being in
- 23:32Speaker 1: a relationship, Like you do not need to feel like, oh, well,
- 23:36Speaker 1: because you know, I'm with my boyfriend all the time,
- 23:38Speaker 1: Like I don't have the time to like go out
- 23:39Speaker 1: with the girls and all that, and like there is
- 23:42Speaker 1: this like rush that I think some girls feel that
- 23:45Speaker 1: when they're single, you know, they have all this power
- 23:47Speaker 1: and all that. But I mean, I love being in
- 23:50Speaker 1: a relationship. I never had that fomo I would say
- 23:53Speaker 1: about feeling single or anything like that. I didn't feel
- 23:56Speaker 1: like I missed anything out because I still think I
- 23:58Speaker 1: made sure that I was still able to like go
- 24:01Speaker 1: hang out with my girlfriends still, you know, go on
- 24:03Speaker 1: fun trips like going to Vegas and all that, and
- 24:06Speaker 1: I was still in a committed relationship, Like I didn't
- 24:08Speaker 1: need to go flirt with guys or I didn't need to,
- 24:10Speaker 1: you know, go on a date with another guy because
- 24:13Speaker 1: I felt so maybe confident in my relationship and I
- 24:16Speaker 1: felt good in my relationship. Didn't feel like I needed
- 24:18Speaker 1: to do those things because I felt happy in my relationship.
- 24:21Speaker 1: So I think, like it's about building confidence in yourself.
- 24:24Speaker 1: It's about making sure that the relationship that you're in
- 24:28Speaker 1: is strong. That way you're not feeling any fear of
- 24:31Speaker 1: missing out when it comes to being single.
- 24:33Speaker 2: In that Hawk Girl summer and all that.
- 24:34Speaker 1: I think it's important that you always put the effort
- 24:36Speaker 1: in your relationship because maybe people feel that way because
- 24:40Speaker 1: they're too comfortable in their relationship and they almost like
- 24:42Speaker 1: lose interest in each other, and that's why people start,
- 24:44Speaker 1: you know, feeling this fomo of you know, not being
- 24:48Speaker 1: single and like wanting to have that hawk girl somewhere
- 24:50Speaker 1: that girls are experiencing. So maybe it's reevaluating your relationship
- 24:54Speaker 1: and putting more effort in it, like going on more dates,
- 24:56Speaker 1: complimenting each other. It's so so important to have good
- 25:00Speaker 1: communication in your relationship because once you stop putting effort
- 25:03Speaker 1: in a relationship, that's where it goes downhill, and that's
- 25:05Speaker 1: when you know, you start to feel like you want
- 25:08Speaker 1: to be single and live this hot girl summer and
- 25:10Speaker 1: all that. So at the end of the day, I
- 25:12Speaker 1: think it's important to focus on your relationship, focus on
- 25:15Speaker 1: the goals and your relationship. If you're that kind of
- 25:18Speaker 1: person that is feeling wanting to be single, then maybe
- 25:21Speaker 1: reevaluate your relationship, put the effort in it. If it's not,
- 25:25Speaker 1: you know, still not working out at that point, then
- 25:27Speaker 1: maybe you need to reevaluate the relationship obviously, But if
- 25:30Speaker 1: you're feeling like it's getting better now that you guys
- 25:32Speaker 1: are actually like making the effort to go on more
- 25:34Speaker 1: dates and making the effort to compliment each other and
- 25:36Speaker 1: you know, share your personal goals and all that. Like
- 25:39Speaker 1: then you know the relationship is getting stronger and you're
- 25:41Speaker 1: seeing a future and all that. So that's when it
- 25:44Speaker 1: comes to like hawk Girl summer and being single and
- 25:46Speaker 1: all that. And then obviously the dating is more so
- 25:49Speaker 1: about like realizing that you can still date yourself. You
- 25:52Speaker 1: can still find friends who are also in a similar
- 25:54Speaker 1: situation to you where you can relate and you know,
- 25:56Speaker 1: do some solo dates together as friends and just like
- 26:00Speaker 1: something in common as well. Another fomo is not having
- 26:04Speaker 1: the perfect body. And I think this is something that
- 26:08Speaker 1: people think that, oh, well, this girl has the most
- 26:11Speaker 1: perfect body I've ever seen, like she must be thriving.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Like that's not the case. I think everybody is going
- 26:17Speaker 1: to have slight body dysmorphia, and I think people don't
- 26:19Speaker 1: realize that like that. I might think someone has the
- 26:21Speaker 1: most perfect body in the world, but she might not
- 26:24Speaker 1: think that, right, Like, at the end of the day,
- 26:26Speaker 1: everybody is going to have some insecurity about themselves and
- 26:30Speaker 1: everybody's body is different.
- 26:31Speaker 2: And you know, someone that has the.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Perfect body in your definition as I said, might not feel,
- 26:38Speaker 1: you know, that secure in that body, even though you
- 26:40Speaker 1: might think that they look perfect.
- 26:42Speaker 2: So again, just embrace what you have.
- 26:44Speaker 1: I think it's important to be confident in your own skin,
- 26:47Speaker 1: in your own features, and know that your body doesn't
- 26:51Speaker 1: define who you are as a person. And I think
- 26:53Speaker 1: it's important to always just embrace yourself and embrace who
- 26:57Speaker 1: you are. And yeah, I think everybody really does struggle
- 27:01Speaker 1: with body morphia, and I think that's okay.
- 27:04Speaker 2: And I think that's the reality.
- 27:06Speaker 1: And I think it's important that everyone should know that
- 27:08Speaker 1: everyone has their own struggle and nobody thinks they're perfect.
- 27:13Speaker 1: I can tell you right now, I do not think
- 27:15Speaker 1: I'm perfect at all, far from it. And I struggle
- 27:19Speaker 1: with body dysmorphia myself. I definitely have always struggled with that,
- 27:22Speaker 1: even you know, throughout high school and all that. I
- 27:24Speaker 1: think it's so hard on us as females to compare
- 27:27Speaker 1: ourselves to other people. And obviously, like there's people getting
- 27:31Speaker 1: you know, work done, like boob jobs, bbls all that,
- 27:33Speaker 1: and like amazing. If that's what makes you feel confident,
- 27:36Speaker 1: that's so fine. But like at the end of the day,
- 27:39Speaker 1: like there's no definition of perfect in my opinion, and
- 27:42Speaker 1: that everyone's going to struggle in their own way. And
- 27:44Speaker 1: I think it's important just to embrace the things that
- 27:47Speaker 1: we truly love about ourself and yeah, just like embrace
- 27:50Speaker 1: our features that we love about ourselves. This one here
- 27:53Speaker 1: is probably the one that I relate to most right now,
- 27:56Speaker 1: and I think some people might also.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Relate to this.
- 27:59Speaker 1: And it's either people who are having babies at this
- 28:03Speaker 1: age or people who are moving in together, getting engaged,
- 28:07Speaker 1: getting married. I think a lot of people might relate
- 28:09Speaker 1: to this in this episode about you know, you see
- 28:12Speaker 1: your friends getting engaged and starting to plan a wedding,
- 28:14Speaker 1: whereas like you and your boyfriend haven't even moved into
- 28:16Speaker 1: your first place yet. And I think, you know, against
- 28:20Speaker 1: something that we see on social media all the time,
- 28:22Speaker 1: where you're seeing people close to your age, you know,
- 28:25Speaker 1: living together, engaged all that, and you might have just
- 28:28Speaker 1: met the guy that you know, you just started dating,
- 28:31Speaker 1: and like you're far from that phase in your life,
- 28:33Speaker 1: but you're the same age as this other girl that
- 28:35Speaker 1: you follow on social media or your friends and just
- 28:37Speaker 1: like feeling behind in life all that. So I think
- 28:39Speaker 1: it's important to realize that we're all in our own path.
- 28:42Speaker 1: We're all on our own timeline. I'm in that phase
- 28:45Speaker 1: right now where I'm twenty nine. I'm seeing girls on
- 28:48Speaker 1: social media who are like twenty six, twenty four, twenty seven,
- 28:51Speaker 1: who have like two to three kids, married, has their
- 28:55Speaker 1: dream house all that, and I'm like, Okay, I'm twenty nine.
- 28:59Speaker 1: I still don't have a kid, I just got married,
- 29:01Speaker 1: I obviously live in my house.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Have a dog, all that.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Like yeah, sure, Like you guys might see like, oh
- 29:06Speaker 1: my god, like she's got everything, She's got it all
- 29:09Speaker 1: figured out. And it's like, well no, because I feel
- 29:11Speaker 1: like I don't have it figured out because I, you know,
- 29:14Speaker 1: still don't have kids. I have this, you know, fear
- 29:16Speaker 1: of obviously like changing my life by having kids and
- 29:20Speaker 1: all that. And I think it's important that I always
- 29:23Speaker 1: tell myself that this is my own path, this is
- 29:26Speaker 1: my own journey, this is my own timeline. Like you
- 29:29Speaker 1: will know when you're ready to take on these changes
- 29:31Speaker 1: and these things that are going to be happening in
- 29:33Speaker 1: your life, and you don't want to feel like anyone's
- 29:35Speaker 1: rushing you, because if you feel like you're going to
- 29:38Speaker 1: be rushed into something that you're not comfortable with, in
- 29:40Speaker 1: this time frame. So if you're not comfortable with getting
- 29:42Speaker 1: engaged with your partner or getting married at this phase
- 29:45Speaker 1: in your relationship, then you know it's not you're not
- 29:48Speaker 1: ready to take on that next step. So that's okay
- 29:51Speaker 1: if you feel that way. Like everybody is going to
- 29:54Speaker 1: be doing things on their own timeline, their own time frame.
- 29:56Speaker 1: We should never feel rush because then if you feel rush,
- 30:00Speaker 1: and obviously you're making yourself uncomfortable in a situation, there'll
- 30:04Speaker 1: be signs when you know you're ready and you know
- 30:08Speaker 1: you're ready to have the conversation about you know, getting
- 30:10Speaker 1: engaged or moving in together all that with your partner.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Like for Zach and I, we have been together for
- 30:16Speaker 1: almost thirteen years, and we were thinking about either getting
- 30:20Speaker 1: engaged or moving into a new house together instead of
- 30:24Speaker 1: getting engaged. We decided to buy a house first because
- 30:26Speaker 1: we thought that was most important in our relationship to
- 30:29Speaker 1: do versus getting engaged, because we wanted to obviously like
- 30:33Speaker 1: make sure that we could live together and we could
- 30:34Speaker 1: stand each other and all that. But obviously everyone does
- 30:38Speaker 1: things in a different way as well. That's another thing, right,
- 30:41Speaker 1: Like some people have this strong belief in getting married
- 30:44Speaker 1: first and then buying their house together and moving in
- 30:46Speaker 1: together and all that, Whereas like for us, our belief
- 30:49Speaker 1: was that we should move in together first and then
- 30:51Speaker 1: get engaged, getting married and all that. So again, everyone
- 30:54Speaker 1: does things in their own time frame. I've seen couples
- 30:57Speaker 1: who've gotten engaged and married in like six to eight months,
- 31:00Speaker 1: which again their own timeline, their own life, that's how
- 31:04Speaker 1: they do things. Where Zach and I, he proposed to
- 31:07Speaker 1: me at our ten year anniversary, like, which is rare
- 31:10Speaker 1: obviously because we've been together since we were like sixteen seventeen.
- 31:13Speaker 1: But the point is is that like everyone goes in
- 31:16Speaker 1: a different direction and a different path in their life,
- 31:19Speaker 1: and that you just need to like put the trust
- 31:22Speaker 1: in yourself and not compare yourself to other people, because
- 31:25Speaker 1: every relationship is different and everything just is going to
- 31:28Speaker 1: feel right for people in a different way. And if
- 31:31Speaker 1: it's you know, waiting to have kids at a different
- 31:33Speaker 1: time in our life, or if it's for you like
- 31:36Speaker 1: you know, not rushing your engagement or anything like that,
- 31:38Speaker 1: Like things are expensive, you know, obviously, people put a
- 31:42Speaker 1: lot of time in their career and all that. So
- 31:44Speaker 1: I think it's important just to kind of realize the
- 31:46Speaker 1: phase that you're in, in the era that you're in,
- 31:49Speaker 1: and how you want to you know, take the next
- 31:51Speaker 1: steps in your relationship and not to feel.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Left out in that because it's healthy.
- 31:56Speaker 1: It's actually healthy for you to know when you're ready,
- 31:59Speaker 1: and it's healthy in your relationship to know when you
- 32:01Speaker 1: guys are ready to take on the next step and
- 32:04Speaker 1: to not rush things, because if you just rush it,
- 32:07Speaker 1: that's when things go downhill and it doesn't work out.
- 32:09Speaker 1: So just know when you guys feel when you're ready,
- 32:12Speaker 1: and not to feel this stress of rushing things and
- 32:16Speaker 1: know that it's all on your own timeline.
- 32:18Speaker 2: So those are just.
- 32:19Speaker 1: A few fomos that I wanted to touch on. I
- 32:22Speaker 1: think it's a very common thing for people to feel
- 32:26Speaker 1: this way when they're seeing people go through these different
- 32:30Speaker 1: phases in their life, whether it's traveling, you know, getting married,
- 32:34Speaker 1: couples moving in, you know, people having babies, just like
- 32:39Speaker 1: having the best summer ever, you know whatever. So I
- 32:41Speaker 1: just like kind of wanted to be real here and
- 32:43Speaker 1: like kind of give you guys a bit of a
- 32:45Speaker 1: reality check that no one's life is perfect and that
- 32:48Speaker 1: at the end of the day, this is how we
- 32:50Speaker 1: can overcome these situations. If you guys are ever feeling
- 32:54Speaker 1: this fear of missing out for these, like certain things
- 32:56Speaker 1: that we talked about in today's episode, there's always a
- 32:59Speaker 1: way to overcome that and kind of just pivot things
- 33:02Speaker 1: in your direction and how to make things happen in
- 33:06Speaker 1: the most positive way for yourself. And I think the
- 33:09Speaker 1: key thing is just to always stop comparing yourself to
- 33:12Speaker 1: other people and just really focus on your own timeline
- 33:15Speaker 1: and your own time frame and how you want things
- 33:18Speaker 1: to go your way, because I think life will work
- 33:22Speaker 1: out when you actually focus on yourself and you focus
- 33:25Speaker 1: on things in your life and not on someone else's.
- 33:28Speaker 1: If you just copy someone else's life, it's not going
- 33:30Speaker 1: to work for you. So I think the key thing
- 33:32Speaker 1: out of this entire episode is more so just to
- 33:34Speaker 1: stop comparing yourself and really just focus on things that
- 33:37Speaker 1: you want to do and you can control, and the
- 33:39Speaker 1: goals that you want to achieve for yourself and make
- 33:42Speaker 1: the goals happen. So that is today's episode. I hope
