- 0:00Coming up, people think there are clear -cut
- 0:03answers in the paranormal. There are not. We're
- 0:06gonna prove it right now. Welcome back to Paranormal
- 0:09Lens. Uh, the, the, the, the, the, ba -ba -ba.
- 0:12Welcome to Paranormal Lens! Today we have a really
- 0:17fun - Please don't start it like that. Yeah,
- 0:19yeah. That's how it started. So, buckle in. We're
- 0:24on, we're, we're, um, fudge. We can't restart
- 0:30it. We've tried to restart this like five times.
- 0:32Now, here's the thing. At this point, we're just
- 0:35going to keep going. No looking back. No restarting
- 0:39again. All of these restarts and fumbles of the
- 0:42intro have been all my fault. But that's because
- 0:45we have a different type of episode today. Instead
- 0:48of a singular topic where we either go down deep
- 0:54dives and rabbit holes or just ramble and go
- 0:56on tangents for an hour. Today. I thought it
- 0:59would be fun because we were talking a lot on
- 1:01recent episodes how it's a good thing, a great
- 1:04thing that the three of us cannot agree on anything
- 1:08and that there's so much nuance to all of our
- 1:11paranormal opinions and beliefs. And we tried
- 1:14like once or twice to do this thing where we
- 1:17went around a circle and we asked a very simple
- 1:20question and all I wanted was a yes or no answer
- 1:24and no one could give it. Yeah. And this is like
- 1:28basic paranormal stuff. You see a lot of paranormal
- 1:31groups and teams they'll have on their websites
- 1:33like definitions, key terms, our beliefs. We
- 1:39can't do that because there isn't a single thing
- 1:43I think that we universally agree on. And I'm
- 1:48not just talking like weird woo -woo abstract.
- 1:50I'm talking about like... definitions and key
- 1:53terms well but the thing is we're also always
- 1:56evolving and changing and our ideas topics definitions
- 2:01are constantly changing and evolving which is
- 2:05the most important like if you're gonna say something
- 2:09is this one thing and this one thing only i mean
- 2:14we're The paranormal field is a field of science
- 2:18and science is about discovering and evolving.
- 2:21So if you're not willing to evolve and change,
- 2:25then you aren't good paranormal investigators.
- 2:29No, no. And I think that that is the coolest
- 2:36part of this podcast is having, you know, our
- 2:39opinions on the record and dated. So that we
- 2:43can see in the future, like, when we eventually
- 2:45revisit topics. Like, oh, we thought this way
- 2:48in 2025. Now in 2026. Whoa. There's even times
- 2:55I'm, like, putting together the episodes or whatever.
- 2:58And we backlog a little bit, but not by much.
- 3:02Like, a couple weeks. And in a couple weeks'
- 3:04time, I'm like, I disagree with what I said.
- 3:08You know, like, my opinion changes. I agree.
- 3:12I, yeah, I totally feel the other. And that's,
- 3:15it's a good thing. This is an evolving field.
- 3:18We are investigating and learning in real time.
- 3:25We are not experts. There are no such thing as
- 3:27paranormal experts. And I do believe that every
- 3:31single topic has nuance and there is no topic
- 3:35that has a simple. clear, cut and dry yes or
- 3:39no answer when dealing with the paranormal. And
- 3:41that is why we cannot succeed, the three of us,
- 3:45in unifying a yes or no answer whenever we come
- 3:49upon one on the podcast naturally. Now, that
- 3:52brings me to the topic today. To keep it fair,
- 3:56I did use ChatGPT to give me a list of 300 yes
- 4:01or no questions that it thinks would be great
- 4:06for a... AMA style, you know, an Ask Me Anything
- 4:09style, you know, questionnaire for a ghost hunter.
- 4:15Yeah, I briefly skimmed through a few just to
- 4:18be like, make sure they're what I was wanting.
- 4:22And that's it. Because I wanted to participate
- 4:25in real time too. So I thought it'd be fun. We're
- 4:31going to pretend like this is an AMA. Like, let's
- 4:33pretend there's a... person a fourth person that's
- 4:37asking us these questions and this episode doesn't
- 4:41stop should we get an ai voice to read these
- 4:44questions oh god no no this is the most this
- 4:47is actually like the most ai um i even want to
- 4:51use it's just yeah yeah so um yeah boo um hey
- 4:57if we were more prepared we could have come up
- 5:00come up with the questions Well, but I didn't
- 5:03want any of us to, like, I didn't want it to
- 5:05be swayed. Think about them preemptively. Yeah,
- 5:07because I can think of questions that intentionally
- 5:09stump you guys. I want it to be as, like, realistic.
- 5:14In the moment as possible. That's fair. And,
- 5:17like, imagine this is someone that comes up to
- 5:18us at a convention or something. Like, oh, you're
- 5:20ghost hunters? Blah, blah, blah. They'd expect
- 5:23a team to be like, yes, no, we're going to stumble.
- 5:28And this episode won't stop until... We agree
- 5:32on something. Oh, boy. So this could go on for,
- 5:35like, a while. Just watch the first one we're
- 5:39all going to agree on. Episode over. If that
- 5:42happens, we'll just have to keep going. We'll
- 5:45have to keep going. There should be a rule. It
- 5:48doesn't stop until we agree on something after,
- 5:52like, the first three questions. Yeah. So the
- 5:56first three will be, like, practice. And also,
- 5:59they're just yes and no questions. We're not
- 6:03elaborating at all. No, you're... No, no, we
- 6:07should be elaborating, right? We'll discuss as
- 6:10a group after. Okay. So this could go on for
- 6:14a while. We'll discuss after briefly if we want
- 6:18to, okay? But the only thing you're allowed to
- 6:20answer initially is yes or no. No qualifiers,
- 6:23Angela. No kinda yes. No maybe no. but that's
- 6:28gonna be so hard that that's that's the point
- 6:31people think that there are clear -cut answers
- 6:36in the paranormal there are not we're gonna prove
- 6:39it right now okay uh -huh i gotcha let's do this
- 6:46sounds great first question the first question
- 6:50is we're gonna start off with a doozy here get
- 6:53ready after the intro Welcome to our podcast
- 6:58where we take deep dives looking at various topics
- 7:00through a paranormal lens. Okay, are you ready?
- 7:06No. But yes, go for it. It is a yes or no question.
- 7:14No qualified. No, I'm kidding. Disqualified.
- 7:18Get out of here. Disqualified. All right. The
- 7:22real first question is. Do you believe in ghosts?
- 7:29Yes. Yes. No. Oh, my God. You know I don't. I
- 7:38know. I know. Okay. The number one question we
- 7:45get asked all the time. Whenever we say, oh,
- 7:50I'm a paranormal investigator. The first thing
- 7:53everyone asks is, oh, have you ever seen a ghost?
- 7:56Have you ever seen a ghost? No. No. Maybe. No,
- 8:04but that's not allowed. That's not allowed. No.
- 8:08I would say yes. Yes? Yeah. I actually can't
- 8:15answer yes to this because I don't believe in
- 8:18ghosts. If I don't believe in ghosts, I've technically
- 8:22never seen a ghost. So my answer is no. You're
- 8:29driving Brianna insane, Ben. You're lame. Lame.
- 8:35I feel like we made so much progress in like
- 8:38seven years and all of a sudden the past year
- 8:41you're like, no, I don't believe in ghosts. It's
- 8:43like, hey, it took us so long to get you to say
- 8:47yes and now you're saying no again. Whoa. Okay,
- 8:51anyways. Here's why. I think I know why. Because
- 8:55we're constantly evolving and changing. The answer
- 9:00to this question is going to be my answer to
- 9:02your question. Do you know what a ghost is? Or
- 9:09in other words, are you able to define the term
- 9:12ghost? No. No. Are you going to say no? Technically,
- 9:23this is, you know, the third question, so this
- 9:26is still part of the practice, but we did disagree.
- 9:28None of us know what a ghost is. And that's why
- 9:32I don't believe in ghosts, because what if we
- 9:34don't have a definition? Yeah, because there's
- 9:37so many definitions. A ghost is just anything
- 9:42paranormal. But then you can go into the question
- 9:45of what is paranormal. I think that term is too
- 9:48loose. Because not everything that is paranormal
- 9:52is a ghost. Yeah. But not every spirit, ghost,
- 9:58or entity you come across can be defined or is
- 10:02going to have a different definition. Like I
- 10:05said, spirit, entity, demon. natural spirit.
- 10:10All of these things are going to have different
- 10:12definitions, so you can't just have one definition
- 10:15for a ghost. Because we also don't know what
- 10:18they are, so you can't have a solid definition.
- 10:23Exactly. I wouldn't call residual energy a ghost.
- 10:30But it is. It is a classification of a ghost.
- 10:39Yes. Well, because I think a ghost has to...
- 10:41Is it really a ghost? No, but... Okay, so you're
- 10:45saying no. You're saying no, it's not a ghost.
- 10:49No, but what is... a ghost? Because a ghost,
- 10:53in my head, has to... has to be a human spirit.
- 11:00Because it has to be... Essentially, a ghost
- 11:03is... I disagree with that. Well, in my head,
- 11:05a ghost is someone that was once alive, is now
- 11:08still here on Earth, just without a body. And
- 11:13they're able to communicate and interact with
- 11:15the living. So, intelligence and once a human
- 11:20are the two most important things to being a
- 11:24ghost by definition. And I don't believe in intelligent
- 11:27hauntings or that most energy or... whatever
- 11:31we're engaging with is even human so so technically
- 11:34you do have a definition definition for a ghost
- 11:37so oh i guess i do okay so i'll so we don't agree
- 11:44on the question so we don't agree okay we can
- 11:46continue this episode um okay um we can make
- 11:51amendments to while we talk about things so yeah
- 11:54okay okay so we're back to square one as we go
- 11:58Yes, back to square one, we don't agree on anything,
- 12:01because I'm the one that proposed an accurate
- 12:03definition, and I feel... An accurate definition?
- 12:06For myself, for myself. Okay. Well, okay, here's
- 12:12another curveball question. Should there be definitions,
- 12:19objective definitions for these things in the
- 12:23paranormal? No! I think, yes. I'm gonna say...
- 12:30I'm gonna say... Well, actually, I don't have
- 12:33an answer for that. No, no, no. You have to answer.
- 12:36You're going against what you said. Okay. I'm
- 12:42gonna say no, just because I haven't seen any
- 12:45definition that actually had, like, actual studies
- 12:47and, like, research done. Like, if you can show,
- 12:50like... If you can actually show, like, we've
- 12:53done trials or whatever. Can I just butt in and
- 12:57say that you're, you're just, you didn't give
- 12:59just your one word answer and you're continuing
- 13:03with your explanation. You're going against the
- 13:09rules. I'm guilty. I'm, you know. Yeah, you're
- 13:16bad at this, Ben. The reason I say yes, though.
- 13:24if we're going to actually discuss this one,
- 13:26is because you should have some sort of a working
- 13:33definition for different things, but that can
- 13:39change. It doesn't need to be a solidified definition,
- 13:43but there should be some sort of baseline to
- 13:49know what you're working with. You know what
- 13:50I mean? That's fair, but that means the definition
- 13:53needs to be very loose. And that's the thing
- 13:56is, I mean, we've kind of said that definitions
- 14:01are always going to be changing. Yeah. Anyways.
- 14:06I just, yeah, if you have a definition for something,
- 14:11for paranormal specifically, it doesn't give
- 14:15wiggle room. for anything to change. People are
- 14:18going to see that and be like, oh, that's it,
- 14:20and that's it only. That means it's like, oh,
- 14:23then anything else that happens can't happen,
- 14:26you know? I don't know if that makes sense. Alright,
- 14:31are we ready for the next question? Yeah, my
- 14:33next question goes back to kind of what we were
- 14:36saying, is like, I'm not immune to not following
- 14:39my own rules, so should I cut Angela some slack
- 14:43moving forward? What are you talking about? About
- 14:48me, like, not being able to say yes? Yeah, we
- 14:51make fun of you a lot. Yes, yeah, you need to
- 14:54cut Angela some slack. What do you think, Ang?
- 14:59Up to you guys. Okay, I'll accept that one. Okay,
- 15:08next question. Are Ouija boards dangerous? No.
- 15:16You answer first, Ben. Okay, I'll rephrase that.
- 15:21Is it safe to use a Ouija board? Yes. Still,
- 15:28you answer first, because I'm still thinking
- 15:30about it. Yes, it's safe for me to use a Ouija
- 15:35board. Brianna, is it safe for you to use a Ouija
- 15:38board? I'm going to say no, just because I wouldn't
- 15:40use one. Sorry, that wasn't a one -word answer,
- 15:44but... No, it's fine, because you knew the answer.
- 15:48If you said yes, the follow -up would be, so
- 15:52would you use a Ouija board? And you'd say no,
- 15:54which would contradict. Do you believe in demons?
- 16:03Yes. I can't answer! I can't! I need to elaborate!
- 16:13Chat GPT. AI. AI. God. You're misplacing your
- 16:22anger. No. No. Anger is towards you because you're
- 16:28the ones to. You came up with the rules of only
- 16:31yes and no questions. Well, what's your answer,
- 16:40Ben? Oh, I was going to say, did Angela answer
- 16:42already? No, she didn't answer. She hasn't answered
- 16:45yet. I'm going to take that as a no. If you have
- 16:48to wait this long, your answer is no. My theory
- 16:54is if you believe in demons, you'd be really
- 16:56quick to say yes, I believe in demons. That's
- 16:58true. I'm going to say no then. I am going to
- 17:06say yes. Okay. Now, I would love to elaborate
- 17:12on this one. Yeah, sure. Since you're the outlier,
- 17:15go ahead and elaborate. Here's the thing, though.
- 17:18It's... The reason why I was so iffy is because
- 17:22it goes back to the definition thing again. What
- 17:26is the definition of a demon? And it's gonna
- 17:28be different per person and what their beliefs
- 17:32are. You know? It's just like... Because people
- 17:37think anything, when they come across something
- 17:39bad, they automatically believe, oh, it's a demon.
- 17:42But what happens if it's something else that
- 17:46doesn't classify as a demon that no one knows
- 17:49about necessarily? My spin on that would be,
- 17:53and the only reason I said yes is, yes, a demon
- 17:58is inherently from a religious viewpoint and
- 18:01from that perspective. to classify something
- 18:05that someone doesn't know what it is demon gets
- 18:10tossed around way too much but it's also a term
- 18:12everyone knows so do i agree that 90 of what
- 18:18people say are demons or demons no do i even
- 18:21believe in demons from a religious viewpoint
- 18:23no but the one out of a million real potentially
- 18:30demonic quote -unquote case what someone defines
- 18:33as a demon, they're probably just saying it's
- 18:37a demon because that's the term they know. But
- 18:39is it a demon, though? I believe... Like, is
- 18:43it something else? Well, I believe in that level
- 18:47of negativity that can exist in the world. Like,
- 18:53what is someone's definition of a demon? Is that
- 18:55just anything that's negative? Because some people
- 18:59would define anything that's negative as a demon.
- 19:02I disagree, but also I don't think there is a
- 19:04definition for demon. I think it's just a term
- 19:09people use because it's a term they know to define
- 19:11just unfathomable evil. Like in a religious standpoint,
- 19:18demon is something that is inhuman, negative,
- 19:24and on this earth to cause harm. and um corruption
- 19:35and not like necessarily corruption to the world
- 19:40as a whole but corruption to a person and their
- 19:42soul yes it's could there be something else other
- 19:46than just a demon that has that same role you
- 19:49know yes yeah exactly but that's my point is
- 19:52i think in my opinion what someone says when
- 19:55someone says that's a demon that's them using
- 19:57their own religion or taught taught jargon to
- 20:03define something that is not defined i don't
- 20:07think we know what a demon is and they're incredibly
- 20:10rare do i agree from the religious teachings
- 20:15of no you know i wasn't taught that growing up
- 20:19i don't come at it from a religious viewpoint
- 20:22but i think i don't think people are wrong if
- 20:25they use the words they know and were taught
- 20:27and just kind of defining it through a religious
- 20:31viewpoint because it's not something i think
- 20:33is wrong with that i'm just saying it doesn't
- 20:35necessarily mean it's a demon though that's why
- 20:38i'm well i don't think demons are that yeah but
- 20:42just the the point of like if they do exist or
- 20:46not we're kind of well because i i think like
- 20:49i said i don't think demon i don't think we know
- 20:52what demons are i think there's just this unfathomable
- 20:56you know this darkness and this evil that can
- 21:02exist and is extremely rare but it can exist
- 21:05and we can't comprehend that level of evil negativity
- 21:08so we use these terms like demon to fill fill
- 21:13fill it in kind of and define it that's a good
- 21:17way of putting it kind of like god not not like
- 21:20demons aren't god but like kind of like how like
- 21:24people use like a a person motif like god is
- 21:28like this guy you know yeah like is he really
- 21:32a guy it's more of a presence and i don't think
- 21:34you know demons are just like these entities
- 21:38that you know resemble a body i think is just
- 21:42kind of something in the air fair i get what
- 21:45you mean i get what you mean okay i think we
- 21:50should move on to the next question then kind
- 21:52of a Yeah. Talk about that for a hot minute.
- 21:55This is a good one. Are children more sensitive
- 22:01to spirits? Yes. Yes. Yeah. I haven't seen evidence
- 22:10of that. I'm going to say no. Oh, God. I've seen
- 22:12so much evidence of that. So write a book. Go
- 22:16write a book. No, I don't want to. Publish your
- 22:19evidence. I don't want to write no book. I got
- 22:20so many other things I would rather do than write
- 22:22a book. Okay. Have you ever regretted a paranormal
- 22:34investigation? That's a hard one. We've done
- 22:41hundreds. I'm going to say yes. I'm going to
- 22:46say no. I don't think I've... I'm also going
- 22:50to say no. I'm going to say no, too. I had a
- 22:53realization. No. My answer is yes. Which one?
- 22:59Only one. Only one. Which one? Well, when we
- 23:02were students at MSU, we were part of the Paranormal
- 23:06Club. Especially in the beginning, we didn't
- 23:08vet who wanted to come investigate with us. There
- 23:11were hundreds of people in this club. There was
- 23:13this one guy that came on one of the very early
- 23:16investigations. He never investigated with us
- 23:20before or since. And this was at the site of
- 23:23a fire that killed, you know, a bunch of people.
- 23:28And he came and he was just making jokes the
- 23:31whole time. And I was cringing. I was like, this
- 23:35is not good. This guy shouldn't be here. He shouldn't
- 23:39even be in the club. This is not cool. And then
- 23:42I did publish a video. And then, like, I couldn't
- 23:47edit him out completely. But then like a couple
- 23:49days later, I did remove that video. And that
- 23:51was the only video or episode of the show that
- 23:54I did pull. You know, that's not the mindset
- 24:01I was going to go. I thought it was going to
- 24:05be like regret something because of. Like an
- 24:11investigation causing blah, blah in our lives
- 24:14or whatever. No, I just regretted going there
- 24:17and doing the investigation because that person
- 24:20was being very disrespectful. Do you have the
- 24:23same answer, Angela? Yeah, I'm going to still
- 24:26say no. Okay. I think I'd still say no, too.
- 24:31Because it's everything you got to take as a
- 24:34lesson, you know? And if Ben never had that experience
- 24:39with that one guy, then he would never know to
- 24:42be careful with the people you bring on investigations
- 24:46with us. It took me seven more years to realize
- 24:52that. I'm just saying, you take it as a lesson,
- 24:57and you shouldn't take lessons as a regret. That's
- 25:03why I said no. even if it may have caused issues
- 25:07at the moment or afterwards it's still like a
- 25:13lesson you shouldn't regret it because you learned
- 25:15something out of it if that makes sense i still
- 25:20think i would if i was at that investigation
- 25:22i probably would have regretted it too though
- 25:24yeah it's just not a what was he saying like
- 25:29not good stuff yeah i'm not You gotta be respectful.
- 25:33Not appropriate stuff for being at the location
- 25:37of a horrible, terrible tragedy. Yeah. On that
- 25:41note, here's a fun question. Is provocation ever
- 25:48justified? No. No, what do you mean by that word
- 25:55exactly? Like, provoking ghosts. Okay. Being
- 25:59hostile. Provoking type fans. Okay. Like, kind
- 26:05of bullying or, you know, kind of agitating a
- 26:08ghost a little bit to get to an elusive response.
- 26:12No. No, I've always said that. Oh, God, this
- 26:19is so hard. It's the difference between knowing
- 26:25what's what, right? And what I want. So I don't
- 26:31know how to answer. I do believe there's a lot
- 26:34of middle ground nuance here. Is it ever justified?
- 26:40I say yes. But because if you know you're talking
- 26:45to a serial killer, not everyone deserves empathy
- 26:49in the real world. You know what I mean? That's
- 26:51actually my thought. But yes, yes, you do not
- 26:56use it as a first, second, third, fourth, fifth,
- 27:00even sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, you
- 27:03know, tool in your toolbox. Angela never said
- 27:06yes or no. Oh, well, be quicker, Angela. I keep
- 27:09forgetting you don't answer. Be the tiebreaker.
- 27:14I feel bad for saying yes. But do you agree that,
- 27:19like... It should be used in rare circumstances
- 27:22where you know the spirit and you know they're
- 27:25a piece of shit. Yeah, but I mean, it's still
- 27:31like their afterlife. Maybe something changed
- 27:33or it switched to them right when they died and
- 27:36maybe they're good in the afterlife. That's true.
- 27:42I don't know. Okay, next question. Has a ghost...
- 27:49ever followed you home. And I know if you guys
- 27:54are lying. I'm going to say no. I'm not going
- 28:03to elaborate. No. No. Okay. Well, my answer is
- 28:09yes. And I agree with one of you on that. Moving
- 28:13on. Um, do you believe some locations are portals?
- 28:29Yeah. I don't know, like, like, what's portal?
- 28:38What is portal? Man, I'm doing good. I'm doing
- 28:43yes and no. I'm going to say yes, but I would
- 28:46like to elaborate afterwards. all right i'm gonna
- 28:49say no and not just because i like being a contrarian
- 28:52so the reason why i say yes and i'm not meaning
- 28:55like people say like oh this room's a portal
- 28:58that closet's a portal this room is the port
- 29:01it's a portal i'm not meaning like that i'm making
- 29:04i may be thinking of it as like a portal as it's
- 29:08a place where like spirits or entities can can
- 29:14come to us easier at and the reason why i think
- 29:17that might be why they are able to come to us
- 29:21easier is because of all the people that come
- 29:25in and out of certain locations specifically
- 29:27looking and inviting the other side to communicate
- 29:31with them that's what makes it portal i don't
- 29:35know yeah i don't i don't believe in like oh
- 29:39this this closet's a portal or this room's a
- 29:41portal or i don't believe in that stuff yeah
- 29:43my thought is is that because i mean i don't
- 29:47know if there's a really a definition for portal
- 29:49either for talking about definitions um but i
- 29:54don't i believe that yes locations can have portals
- 29:59i don't know that a location is a portal and
- 30:03i don't know that those location those portals
- 30:06are continually open like i believe that there's
- 30:10a thinning in the veil if you may call it in
- 30:15certain locations and certain places. And at
- 30:19some point that weakens and allows things to
- 30:22come back and forth. And I think there are locations
- 30:25that have that potential and do have that happen.
- 30:31I mean, I feel like we have experienced that
- 30:33in a couple of different locations. Yeah, 100%.
- 30:36So I'm saying yes, because I... believe there
- 30:42are locations that have the potential to have
- 30:46that thinning for a portal to come through but
- 30:49not necessarily that they are a portal all the
- 30:52time yeah i kind of just view portals as a as
- 30:56a an area where they're able to come through
- 31:01easier like i'm not thinking of like i feel like
- 31:06when the people think of a portal i'm thinking
- 31:08of like like a black hole that they will step
- 31:13through and come to the other side which i don't
- 31:15know if that's how people view it or not but
- 31:17that's not what i think that's why i'm like oh
- 31:19that that room's a portal no it's not yeah yeah
- 31:23because i remember the one specific location
- 31:25that i'm thinking of is um what what was it called
- 31:30that cemetery up in the up mission hill cemetery
- 31:33yeah because we had that experience where we
- 31:36were walking through the cemetery and then all
- 31:37of a sudden we got that feeling like Or I got
- 31:40that feeling that, oh my god, there's something
- 31:42right in front of us. And it just felt like there
- 31:45was just this wave of energy. Yes, I remember
- 31:47what you're talking about. And all of a sudden
- 31:48it felt like we could see these things passing
- 31:52back and forth. We were like, oh my god, we just
- 31:54saw someone walking. Or, oh my god, there's something
- 31:56over there. And then all of a sudden it was just,
- 31:58boop, gone. And it didn't happen again. It's
- 32:02like that felt like an instance of when a potential
- 32:06portal opened. But it was only for like... three
- 32:10minutes. Yeah, yeah, I remember what you're talking
- 32:12about. So, yeah, good question, good question.
- 32:17Well, tied to that question, do you believe hauntings
- 32:21are either bound to, or, you know, dare I say
- 32:27stuck, or closely associated with certain locations,
- 32:30or are they not tethered? This isn't a yes or
- 32:33no question, so. No, no, no, yes or no, are spirits
- 32:37tethered? To a singular location. Oh. I don't
- 32:43know. I generally like. I don't know. I don't
- 32:49even know. I want to say my answer. But I also
- 32:51want to further explain. So I'm going to say
- 32:55yes. And I'll wait. Until everyone else answers
- 33:01too. No. okay angela's gotta you next next question
- 33:09angela has to answer first i'm gonna say no okay
- 33:13i say yes because i think there are spirits or
- 33:18entities that can be tethered to a location or
- 33:21an object but they aren't the only kind of energy
- 33:27entities or spirits like there there are multiple
- 33:30different kinds and that's why we're like we
- 33:32can't define a ghost entity whatever because
- 33:36yes they can be tethered but there's some that
- 33:38aren't so there you go okay that makes sense
- 33:45i didn't like that question i was i didn't really
- 33:48i don't know what do you want from me sorry to
- 33:53a locate i don't know i'm just saying like i
- 33:56don't care if they're tethered to a location
- 33:57or not and then i don't know also going off of
- 34:00that if you consider residual entities or residual
- 34:05hauntings as ghosts, those are technically tethered
- 34:09to the location. That's so true! Yeah. Here's
- 34:14another question. Actually, I don't know. Do
- 34:18I agree with that or not? You're actually breaking
- 34:23my brain a little bit there. That's actually
- 34:27a great question. But what I was going to ask
- 34:31next is... Does activity stop if a location is
- 34:38demolished or no longer existing on the land?
- 34:43Oh, that's a good question. I would also beg
- 34:51to say no. I think... spirits or entities can
- 34:55one be tied to the house or something and in
- 35:00that situation if the house is gone demolished
- 35:03burned whatever i think that could release the
- 35:05spirit but if the spirit or entity is tied to
- 35:09the land then no because there's no way to demolish
- 35:13or cleanse or maybe you could cleanse the land
- 35:15but there's no way to demolish it and remove
- 35:17it well what do you make of your statement about
- 35:21the residual energy if if so residual energy
- 35:25is residual energy like if you put another house
- 35:28in that location like that's not like i think
- 35:31of residual energy as it's energy not not a soul
- 35:35yeah yeah but that is that is there like you're
- 35:39not gonna get rid of residual energy if you think
- 35:43that like the door opening by itself like as
- 35:46a claim is because The residual energy of people
- 35:49opening and closing and not like an active spirit
- 35:51there. And then the house is demolished and a
- 35:54new one is built. Does that residual energy stay
- 35:57or transfer to the new house? Yeah. You think
- 36:02so? Yeah. I'm, I'm not sure. I'm not sure. I
- 36:08don't know. If you think, if you think about.
- 36:11So my, my fun thing that I like to think about
- 36:14with residual hauntings is like. If someone's
- 36:20seeing a full apparition walking through a door
- 36:24or walking through a wall that a door used to
- 36:27be there, they're going to continue to walk through
- 36:30that wall even if the door's gone. So if you
- 36:33take away a house and you put a new house on
- 36:37top of where it used to be, it's still going
- 36:39to do that same action. So if there's a door
- 36:41there, they're going to open and close that door
- 36:43just as they used to. But what happens to the
- 36:47residual energy is, like, within the air and
- 36:52not the actual, like, object or whatever, you
- 36:56know? The energy of, like, opening the door could,
- 37:00like... that residual energy could still be there
- 37:03but without the door so it's still stuck there
- 37:06so you could still hear the sounds or the creaks
- 37:09of that door opening and closing oh yeah that's
- 37:12true that's true that's going beyond traditional
- 37:14like stone tape theory though where it like absorbs
- 37:17into an object or like the wood and it's more
- 37:21i i do like that i do like that i like reason
- 37:26i i like i like the idea of residual hauntings.
- 37:29They itch a certain part of my brain. Yeah. I
- 37:34just feel like it's some sort of science that
- 37:38hasn't been discovered yet. Okay. Continuing.
- 37:42Next question. This is fun. Does Bella have a
- 37:50soul? Bella, if you're listening to this. For
- 37:59anyone that's unaware, this is a inside joke.
- 38:03If you need to follow us on TikTok, we go live
- 38:06now. And this came up on a recent TikTok live.
- 38:10So if you know, you know. But does Bella have
- 38:13a soul? If Bella's listening, yes, I believe
- 38:18you have a soul. Yes, I believe you have a soul.
- 38:22I actually don't know who Bella is. You have
- 38:25to answer yes or no, Ben. Well, there's no proof
- 38:28Bella's even a human being. Her profile picture
- 38:31is just a pentagram. It's a pentagram. So no,
- 38:34pentagrams don't have souls. No. No. The answer
- 38:36is no. She does not have a soul. All right. Next
- 38:41question. Do you think if you just ignore a haunting,
- 38:46it goes away? Yeah. No. I say yeah. The power
- 38:54of intent. Yeah, exactly. If you're not putting
- 38:57energy into it, it's not going to have energy
- 38:59to put out. But... Unless it's residual. I think
- 39:04a haunting or whatever will always have some
- 39:07sort of energy to it. But us, we give it more
- 39:11energy to pop out more. Doesn't mean it's not
- 39:13there still. True. Can randomness convincingly
- 39:18imitate intelligence indefinitely? Interesting.
- 39:25Yes. So can you just forever and ever and ever
- 39:31have an interaction with pure randomness and
- 39:37just perceive it as... What's randomness, though?
- 39:40Like, okay, so think of, like, an obvious here.
- 39:44That's what I'm thinking of. Like, a random word
- 39:45generator, and people perceive that as an intelligent
- 39:49interaction with a spirit. And it's just random
- 39:52words. Like, can you have forever an interaction
- 39:56that feels intelligent with a random word generator?
- 40:00No, I still want to say yes. Ooh, this is a good
- 40:05one. Can people be haunted? Yes. Yes. I will
- 40:10also say yes. Oh, I think we all agree. That's
- 40:18a question that we all agree on. Can people be
- 40:21haunted? Didn't see that coming. No, I didn't
- 40:31either. I mean, like, if objects can be haunted,
- 40:36if houses can be haunted, if places can be haunted,
- 40:41people can be haunted too. Yeah. I mean... Would
- 40:49you consider a person being haunted a form of
- 40:52possession? Oh, I didn't even see it from that
- 40:56angle. Yeah, yeah. Spirits possess people, haunt
- 41:01people all the time. Yeah. I mean, attachments.
- 41:07We know that's a thing. That's technically a
- 41:09person being haunted. We know that's a thing?
- 41:12From lived experience? Because I'm the only one
- 41:14that's had an attachment or something following
- 41:16me home, allegedly. We know it's a thing. We've
- 41:20heard of it happening. Bonus round. Do hauntings
- 41:25have intent? Or do we assign that intent? Oh.
- 41:33So, I guess, because that's not a yes or no,
- 41:36even AI trips up, I guess. Do hauntings have
- 41:39intent, yes or no? I don't like that. No. NeNe.
- 41:56Not always. Yeah, I'm gonna say no. I want...
- 42:05I've been doing so good. Um... I'm gonna say
- 42:14no as well. But they sometimes can. And they
- 42:20do a lot of the time. But a lot of the time they
- 42:23don't. Okay. So the two questions. It took us
- 42:29a long time to agree on something. And the two
- 42:31things we agree on as a group are humans can
- 42:35be haunted and ghosts don't have intent. Usually.
