- 0:24[SPEAKER_02]: a 47-D season and a season of life in the other and naturely baseball history from one of the Koenia Junior.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_02]: There's a drive right on the Man of Heaven, the Man of Heaven, the Man of Heaven, but it's amazing.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_02]: He is heavy.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_02]: He hits this one hard.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_02]: He hits the Man of the Life.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_02]: My truck has ripped him on him.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: What's up, guys?
- 0:48[SPEAKER_01]: My truck, and this is the sports car C.E.E.E.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: It's current.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: Buff on hand.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_04]: The current was up buddy, Ali.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_04]: Man, it is great to be back with you guys.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_04]: I just got to say we just got back from Fanatics Fest and later in the episode, we're going to give a breakdown of that.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_04]: But to our listeners, I am so grateful for you guys so many of you stopped us at the show and just said how much you enjoy listening to the pod, just a fan of the pod and just how relatable the pod is and that's all we've ever wanted to create and current.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_04]: I just wanted to share that with you, like we're so grateful for you guys who tune in every week, man.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_04]: And we continue to try to make this very relatable, very transparent and hopefully very helpful in the sports card hobby.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_03]: If for sure, you guys are celebrities around fanatics fest these days.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know about all that, but I will say a shout out to a specific listener who is able to get us connected with one Cody Belinger.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_04]: And so we got to drop a little interview with Cody Bellinger.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_04]: And so, you know, out of just kind of like the privacy thing, but we're super grateful for this fellow.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_04]: And he's a listener and it was just awesome man.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_04]: We got to interview Cody right after the all star MVP thing, the timing was great.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_03]: So, Karen, did you get to see the Cody Bellinger interview?
- 1:59[SPEAKER_03]: I did.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_03]: I did.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_03]: That was really cool.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_04]: Did you know the question that little Matt asked, would you have been able to guess what Major League Baseball players have the rookie of the year, the MVP, a world series, and then an all-star game MVP?
- 2:14[SPEAKER_03]: It would have been, I probably wouldn't have gotten that right off the bat, no.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I was really proud that Cal Rip can junior set the stage.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_04]: Just in case you were wondering, guys.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I figured you were a proud of that.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Luma, with the hints that you gave Cody, I would have gotten them easily.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_04]: So it was a big question, Matthew.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_04]: You came up without on your own.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_04]: I was super proud of you.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_04]: Those are really, really intuitive question.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, you got to, when you're interviewing people, you got to make them think a little bit.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: You can't, like, you can't ask them a basic question that get all the time.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I heard someone ask Carl Anthony Towns, like, how did it feel to win the finals?
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like, what a terrible question.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_04]: So speaking of great questions Matthew, we're going to start today's episode off with a little market update and we're going to let you ask current some some market questions.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_04]: We're going to just have a little old school, you know, CEO market chat and then current going pop off and we're going to do little fanatics festival recaps.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_04]: So that's what's in store for the CEO listeners today.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_04]: So let's go ahead and chat the market right now.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_03]: I was going to ask you Matt, I was like, well, I was going to ask what you were seeing at fanatics fest in terms of Bowman and, you know, what are you seeing out there in the Bowman market?
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: Well, first off, I'll tell you this, me and Big Matt, we got on the subway.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: This guy tried to mug us and then we dropped the name Eric Mandelkarn, he's spread it away.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: You got street cred in New York.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_03]: Goat status, baby.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_03]: That's funny.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_03]: Little mugging on the floor.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we dropped the me job name current cards and he just spread in the way.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's honestly Bowman market.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: You're starting to see a lot less of it on showfores.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know whether that It's because it can't sell or it's because everyone's holding it right now and uh, but they were probably five tables out of 500 that had solid bumming.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: Really.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: The best five.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_03]: That's five hundred.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_03]: That's crazy.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: the best two Bowman cards I saw were it was an air-heartman true gold and then a Louis Peña true orange 9.5.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_03]: Like, uh, that's, I mean, those are two great cards, but like for the best cards that you're going to see in Bowman, yeah.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_03]: And I don't know.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_03]: I'll, you know, when I hear your guys recap on on the show, I'll kind of get an idea of how much of how much card actual card deals or worse, you know, just entertainment and culture and stuff.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_03]: But I guess that makes sense.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, first year they did it.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was funny we changed a lot.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_04]: We ran into our buddy in front of the show Mike Torres and he said, y'all are there.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_04]: First year together, he was rolling around with a kid and a shoulder.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_04]: That's like, yeah, that was pretty cool.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_04]: Current was like, hey, dude, I got to go to the bathroom, hold this super-fractor case for me.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_03]: He said he was so nervous.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_04]: He was like, yeah, it was like, dude, it's like, tripped him out.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_04]: And that's the first time we met you in person, man was the next year at the National in Cleveland.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we talked and done deals, but you roll up and you were we were this private little after like show and you roll up right beside us We had like saved this little table thing.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_04]: You just whip out this like case of supers.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_03]: You just put them in the case and we're just like what is happening right here I know I remember that you're like you want to put some stuff in the case.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, hell yeah, and then
- 5:22[SPEAKER_03]: people started coming over and they're like wanting to make it deal and I had no it's like that was my first time like I never been to a show before like since I was a kid you know and I was like I have no idea how this works you know they're like how much for this this this this is as a package jails like well what yeah and no idea and I remember having to ask Torres to help me yeah
- 5:42[SPEAKER_04]: it was so it was so good and it thus began the friendship.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: My gosh, I remember you sold like a $25,000 deal at that trade night of like Col Emerson Orange, Roman Anthony Orange, Hoesway to Paula Orange, like all this stuff, and yes, yes.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you remember that?
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: That was like, and I like helped me constantly.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_03]: I remember that.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_03]: That was a lot.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_03]: There were a lot of big cars in there.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_03]: Hoesway to Paula Orange, Roman Orange,
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, a little math was so mad.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_03]: Well, math was so mad.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_03]: He was so mad.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: And he didn't on this.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: You told him, you told him so cheap.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: We all know the person that bought him us three do.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: And you sold them so cheap.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: And I wish I would have bought him.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, look, at the time it was a cheap, but I also was in so cheap that it was like, you know, winner.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_04]: Hey, you know, it's funny about that night is to this day.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_04]: Little Matt flames me because we sold a gold.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_04]: Who wasn't Matthew?
- 6:36[SPEAKER_04]: I know exactly what he was talking about here.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_04]: Roman Anthony gold Roman Anthony for eight hundred dollars.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: Dude, I But like I told him I wanted to hold it.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: It was terrible.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'll still blame him for it.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna go down by grape with this We bought it for 700 and we know we traded a gold Roman Anthony for a Lazarum Montez or Fractor PS10 and like 200 bucks and we took the Roman in and we put it in the case
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: and I told him to not sell it.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: And he told some guy 800 bucks and the guy snapped it immediately.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_00]: Now, and then at peak, that car was worth like 10k.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_03]: So it's okay, boy.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_04]: You win some elusum, man.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_04]: It's okay.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_04]: To hey, little Matt said, one time, you never go broke, taking profit.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_04]: So I will claim that all day.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_04]: That's true.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_04]: That's true.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_04]: So little Matt, what we got, let's load some market chatter for
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, anyone who's in the first moment on the group chat on Instagram, I was getting flamed the other night for basically saying that the moment the bum and market was dead and correct me if I'm wrong, but I've starting to notice that some players are absolutely crushing it and playing well and their cards are having no uptick whatsoever.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_03]: Like who do you see?
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: Zire Hope Zire Hope is masking baseball's right now and I haven't got a single all-for-honest red I haven't he's cars aren't going up like I don't know what it's he's a good example He's a good example.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_03]: I mean look same idea with with the Paula right like there's not a ton There's not a ton of like high-end to pull out there like you're not really seeing But you're not really seeing oranges and reds out there.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's in Gary's basement
- 8:13[SPEAKER_03]: But like, it's not your hopes and interesting one because it's like, I think he's going to be a better pro than he is even in the minor leagues and he's got a great minor league career so far and I think he's going to be a better pro so I feel like he's one of those guys that's just going to get slept on right now in the minor leagues and he's going to get called up and he's going to crush and people are going to start wanting to buy his cards.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_03]: I feel like that's a situation with Zaire Hope right now.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_04]: Would you relate him to like a Caminera?
- 8:38[SPEAKER_04]: No, I'd relate him more to like us a tough one.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_04]: What I mean by that is Caminera didn't have a ton of hype in his minor league.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_04]: Like did, I mean he was a number one prospect overall.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_04]: it won't be a true that's right.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_04]: I forgot he was kind of wedged in there between wood.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but he's whole market got screwed up.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_03]: Caminoiro at call up.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_03]: Caminoiro's market got screwed up at call up because they called him up if you remember in September when they were going to the playoffs and he just didn't play like they didn't play him in the playoffs, but he got called up for that.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_03]: So
- 9:08[SPEAKER_03]: everybody had no idea what to do with his cards and he didn't play and then this starting the next year was like just his market was dead and it kind of went downhill from there and it's I think finally starting to recover now yeah yeah I mean but yeah like Xiaers are weird one there's a lot of guys like that though that you just don't see an uptick in their cards but I think a lot of those guys you're gonna be really good pros and I think people are just gonna end up jumping on late yeah I mean to the party you know
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: I have noticed like two players, I'd notice that have gone up tremendously.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: Mike Sorota, he's gone up a lot.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: And Chase Harlan has gone chase a lot.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_03]: Chase Harlan is they're both monsters.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I have both of those, I have both red tens on eBay right now for both of those guys.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_03]: And I list them pretty high, right?
- 9:59[SPEAKER_03]: I don't expect to sell them at that number, but I haven't gotten one offer on either.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, it's just tough because those are two cards that three months ago or six months ago, like what have been the most liquid thing, you, it would have sold immediately.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, look, they could sell immediately at a certain number right now, right?
- 10:15[SPEAKER_03]: But like, problem is, is that, you know, I get a little greedy.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_03]: You know, some of us get a little greedy.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_03]: And that's the truth, you know?
- 10:22[SPEAKER_03]: yeah and you want us you want to sell it at peak red 10 numbers you know and you're just sometimes you got to just like right now I could probably sell each of those cards for $10,000 each easily you know what I mean and it would be an insane markup for where I'm in it you know but like I'm looking for more you know it's creating this maybe there's a lot of that going around I don't know yeah for sure and something you mentioned there is uh
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: the private versus the public market.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: And this is something we can talk about on all cards.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: So what I'm going to do, I'm going to give you five players.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to like, and I'm going to give five players.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to tell me what their super factor would do on public auction right now.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_03]: Public auction, okay?
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: Well, first off, you think public or private would be higher.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: But what do you think?
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think goes higher?
- 11:03[SPEAKER_03]: It depends on the, it depends on the player.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I think a player that like has a has is very well known that's a lot of people it's a household name for minor league, you know, for baseball fans, I think it's going to do better on the open market because there's more fans that you're saying that you can go international, you know, but there's certain players that are going to do one privately.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Kern, what do you think your Camino super does on auction right now?
- 11:28[SPEAKER_03]: On auction, I think it probably does, it's a good question.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think it does 300 plus at least 250, at minimum 250.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: I remember when Gary bought it on auction, I remember telling him I thought it was a bad buy.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: When he paid 32 characters, it's just not how much he's going on.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and I remember Gary, I remember talking to Gary, because I remember where I was.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_03]: I was in Montana, I think, not Montana.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_03]: Where did I go?
- 11:53[SPEAKER_04]: I don't know where the hell I went.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_03]: Wyoming.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_03]: I went to Wyoming.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_03]: And I remember talking to him, trying to work a deal for the cabinet super.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_03]: And he's like, I'm getting rid of it.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_03]: I don't believe in cabinet.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_03]: I'm getting rid of all my Karen out, the cabinet arrow.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_03]: He's like, he's like, I'm out on him.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_03]: I was like, okay, I'll buy it from you for he's like, okay, I was like, what do you want?
- 12:10[SPEAKER_03]: He's like 40 K. I was like, tell me what to send.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_03]: I'm in.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_03]: But I think that does 250 made a moment on auction.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_03]: But I, that's not what I would put on auction necessary.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_03]: What do you think is going to sell it?
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think the Nick Kurt super does on auction 350?
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: You think Nick Kurt does more than Camanera?
- 12:28[SPEAKER_03]: I think it shouldn't, but I think it would.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_03]: Interesting.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_03]: It shouldn't, but it would.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_03]: I think interesting.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_04]: All right.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_03]: A little bit of that.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_03]: It just because a Camanera's market gets no respect.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_03]: That's all.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_03]: True.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it'll be interesting to see how his second half of the season goes.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I don't think that it should.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_03]: But it just the hobbies we're like that, you know that.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_03]: What do you think Camanero?
- 12:50[SPEAKER_03]: does on open auction, what do you think cursed does on open open auction?
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: Thank, Camanero, I think Camanero does 350k and I think the curts would do 200k.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, that's fair.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I went higher on the curts only because it's kind of like his debut patch just sold, right?
- 13:07[SPEAKER_03]: And what was the final sale?
- 13:09[SPEAKER_03]: 550 or so?
- 13:09[SPEAKER_03]: 516, 516, 516,000.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, like I just feel like people that's piggybacked so far for that, but whatever, it's not selling anyway.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_03]: So, but I think both are, I think that's fair on your part.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_03]: Who else you got?
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: Next one.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: So, we saw all the Aaron judge recent sale, right?
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think Mike trout's super-fractor would do on auction right now?
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: That's tough one.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: How high is Mike willing to go?
- 13:30[SPEAKER_00]: That's the question.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_00]: How high is Mike willing to go?
- 13:33[SPEAKER_04]: Mike is watching.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_04]: Mike is definitely not buying that.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I don't know the answer to that question, really.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_03]: Honestly, what is George cell 4?
- 13:46[SPEAKER_03]: 5.2.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, can I put the 5th on this one?
- 13:50[SPEAKER_03]: What do you think?
- 13:51[SPEAKER_03]: A little bad.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_00]: If someone put the trout trout soup on auction right now, I think it goes for $3 million.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't disagree with that to be honest with you.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't disagree because, but I do think it could possibly go below too.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_03]: But I think given, given where judge just went, I think it could do three.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_04]: Ladies and gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen, Eric Mandocern will be running for office later this year.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_04]: You're playing that politician role.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you're right in the middle, baby.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_04]: Right in the middle, my initial gut.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_04]: My initial gut was going to be minimum two million minimum.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_04]: So we're going to start calling you Eric moderate current.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, man.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_04]: All right, Matthew, what else?
- 14:37[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think?
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to ask on a card you own, but like, what's super do you not own?
- 14:41[SPEAKER_03]: No, I can ask on cards.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_03]: I don't care.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't mean that like I'm putting on my an auction.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_03]: And it's, you know, it's just like what I think I would do in the open market.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_00]: What about what about your Luis Pena Superfractor?
- 14:51[SPEAKER_03]: I think that would probably do 60.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_03]: 60.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: What about another guy, my ass?
- 14:57[SPEAKER_00]: This is gonna be, this is still like a tough one, in my opinion.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think the Paul scheme's super fractured does?
- 15:02[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I mean, it's gonna do a high number still because it's just gonna be protected from the, you know, the glory of that whole thing prior.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_03]: Like it's just, you know what I mean?
- 15:11[SPEAKER_03]: Like it's, it would put it this way.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_03]: It wouldn't be a good look for a lot of people if that thing did 100k if you know it.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_00]: Oh no.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: So I, but I think the list, I think I think would do 350k.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, yeah, probably, but I, yeah, probably just because of like previous hype and previous marketing and just everything behind it, yeah, I think you would do at least that, it probably do more.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think the misrapsky super goes for?
- 15:36[SPEAKER_03]: It's so big that I'm trying to do it, right?
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: Is somebody put that up?
- 15:40[SPEAKER_03]: It's sold on auction if you're like a little bit ago, but it's sold three times already, right?
- 15:46[SPEAKER_03]: It's gone up, down, up, and down.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_03]: What's the latest number, do you know?
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: Dude, I think the last day I was on Alt for like 48k.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: But obviously he way up since then.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, his orange is,
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: are doing 20.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I don't know a bit.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, a hundred k plus a eight current.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_04]: You know this.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_04]: So when we were in fanatics first, we were in a little private kind of family room or whatever like fanatics sponsor deal.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_04]: And your boy Johann Matthew was his last name.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_00]: Santa Santa Santa.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_04]: He's in there.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he wrote in there and you know, they said the name and I was like, I kind of remembered it right.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not a met fan.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I mean, like, so I wouldn't have context for that right.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_04]: And honestly, during that season of my life, like, I wasn't watching a lot of baseball, but he was a two-toned side young winner, which I didn't realize.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he was an assier of the twins.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and he was, he played the Mets and then the Twins is that right.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_04]: No, Twins and then Mets.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_04]: Twins, then Mets.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, I was like, almost was going to take a picture of the incentive to you because I figured you're a boy with it.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_04]: But the point being is, it's like, that's a two-time sigh young winter.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm like, what would his card do?
- 16:47[SPEAKER_03]: You don't even mean?
- 16:48[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_04]: And so it's like, all the hype around the scoobles and the miserowski's who have absolutely no, you know,
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: People have three.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: I do I didn't mean skew I'm talking about schemes.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_04]: Is this a good one?
- 17:02[SPEAKER_04]: I know, but then I correct myself schemes has one.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_04]: Scubal has three.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: Mizz has like ten.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_04]: He ain't gonna have 10, but my point being is it'd be really interesting to see how these long-term pitcher markets hold up with these price points where they are.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's certainly I don't think they hold up unless you're Clayton Kershaw and you have like this long-ass career at a dominant level for that extended period of time.
- 17:29[SPEAKER_03]: It's just like how do you how does it hold up?
- 17:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I would agree.
- 17:32[SPEAKER_00]: or next super question.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: This is tough.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_00]: This is probably the hardest one of the day.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think a Bryce Harper is super?
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: Shout out in the talker.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, shout out in the talker.
- 17:43[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, Bryce Harper.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_03]: I think it does 500 plus.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_03]: Easy.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_03]: easy.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I want to say like 750.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_00]: 750.
- 17:51[SPEAKER_00]: So you think Harper would do 750.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_00]: Can you think trout would do 3 million.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: And shout out Nick Tucker again.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: Show he was on it.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_03]: Show hey?
- 17:59[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think the show a batting autograph super does on auction right now?
- 18:03[SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's sold already.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_03]: So am I not supposed to say it's I think it's sold.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_03]: I think it would do 10 million.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_03]: I was going to say 15.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_03]: That's that's La La Land Boys.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_03]: That is just law law I mean look it's anybody's guess at that point it's anybody's guess at that point Well, you know, I don't know.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_03]: Are you think I'm low on Harper little man?
- 18:22[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Harper would do at least a million.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks, though
- 18:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_04]: Say, you know, the the the hype on the stage of fanatics festival multiple million other deals done.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_04]: And that's an interesting conversation with Lil Matt and I can window our recap is like how much fanfare they're putting around these high value cards.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?
- 18:39[SPEAKER_04]: And how it influences the low end market.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_04]: Like that's a really really interesting dynamic right now because they're pumping a lot of capital behind this idea.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_04]: It's just super interesting.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, and it goes to like, when a super selves of someone's super high, it changes their whole market.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: And when I, I don't know if y'all remember this, but Gary bought the Hector Rodriguez Super for like 12k in like 2023.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_00]: And it completely changes market.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: And it's orange is jump like two X because it's super jump.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_00]: And the guy sucks now, but it's like, it's just tough because when a super, when a super sale happens, it changes the whole market.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: Like, for especially like, judge, when the judge's super sold, I guarantee that probably changed the red and orange market.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_04]: Hector was crushing it for a bit over here, but he's lost.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_03]: He's lost any hype put it that way.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean?
- 19:30[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, he was crushing it for a bit.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see what his numbers are.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_03]: Let me look at the prospect club app.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_03]: He's batting 280 for the year with a 901 OPS and 24 home runs.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_03]: He's crushing.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_00]: go check out the prospect club that that's sponsored.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_03]: Seriously, he's gotten he's got a he's got a 901 OPS with 24 home runs this year.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_03]: That's crazy.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_04]: So again, he's he's playing really well, but the hype's just not there.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_04]: It just goes to show you how much hype influences all of this stuff.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_04]: Man, this is so.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_04]: It's like I try to tell a little Matt this all over and over and over and over and over again like the 90% of the card market is totally driven by the idea of FOMO and I have it and you don't and as soon as that whole thing changes man like it changes on a dime yeah it does little Matt I probably I think you're probably right on the on the Harper I just don't I don't know I just don't see it I just don't see it going below a million you're probably right the way the supermarkets are right now it's like
- 20:25[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, you're probably right.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_03]: Probably let's say you're right there.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_00]: All right, and we'll close it off with the last one This is one that I've had questions about personally, but what do you think the air cartman's super?
- 20:35[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I'll tell you what it won't do is 65, okay.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_03]: Because I'm sitting there freaking eBay at 65, which tells you one thing.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_03]: What you're overpriced.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we've had this I think I think I think it's a 30 K card right now.
- 20:48[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah
- 20:50[SPEAKER_04]: We've had this conversation on the show before about how putting cards like that out there on eBay and letting them sit.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, that's it's it's a thing of mine and I talk about that all the time so yeah, it's a pet peeve of mine and look it's it's only because and like you say I have my cards on the market right now to it's been on for a week, but then I take it off and because I don't like it because all it tells you is that your way overpriced.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, well, and so somebody has in their mind mentally that psychologically that this is it's not worth this.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_03]: So you're you're capping it.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_03]: You know what I mean.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, learn have have we seen the walk up super yet.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: Or is it still hiding.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_03]: No, it's still hiding.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_03]: It's going to hide out.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_03]: Did you see that walk out 10 or so of $10,000.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_00]: Well, 10,000 for a wall caught orange 10.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the other day.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'd uh, and you have what seven.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_03]: I got a bunch of them.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it was, it was Poland's that he sold that I gave him in the trade for the part of the Cheerio super.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_03]: So the one that I gave him.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I have a question for you and then I'll let you guys get into your recap.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_03]: But what do you think that the Jojo Parker super does?
- 22:01[SPEAKER_00]: What it did or what it does.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_03]: What it does.
- 22:03[SPEAKER_00]: Thought of his worth.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's worth like 40 get.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_03]: Mm-hmm.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_00]: I.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_03]: I agree.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: I never thought it was worse what the bidding was up to for it.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_00]: See, I'm still, I still know some of them are marking.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's not out fully.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_03]: I don't think he might question in your market now.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_03]: I know what he's question in your market now.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_04]: Unless it's the commenters on Jeff Wiltson's video on YouTube, and then there's a lot of people that are questioning what happened there.
- 22:27[SPEAKER_04]: Buddy, we can get into this in a little bit.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_04]: So what will tell the story to
- 22:36[SPEAKER_04]: It's very relative to the conversation here because when you have a card like that, once you put it out there, you're in a mean, it kind of you shop it around to a couple people.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_04]: It starts to kind of lose its unit of mean.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_04]: Kind of kind of luster.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_04]: So we had it at Fanatic's Fest and we had it sold in a deal at 27k straight up, but the guy had a limited amount of cash.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_04]: And so he said, give me it, give me a day to get the cash.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_04]: So we gave him a day to get the cash.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_04]: And then he comes back and he's like, I can wire you Monday and all this kind of nonsense.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_04]: Meanwhile, in good faith, we let the guy kind of hold the card.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?
- 23:11[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_04]: We knew the guy.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it was like, you know, probably not the smartest thing, but we did it.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_04]: Sure.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_04]: And then the next day, the guy comes back is like, hey, man, just take the card back.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_03]: And so we're like, I'm done with it.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we're like whatever man and so had it sold at 27k took the card back and we noticed that Jeff Wilson was actually looking to acquire these show hey all aces or any all aces So a little Matt weights in line and he's got his whole you know media team there.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_04]: They're doing the video for the sports card investor YouTube
- 23:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
- 23:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he was like, hey, I'm Jeff.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_04]: Nice to meet you.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_04]: Matt is like, hey, I'm Matt.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_04]: And he's like, what do you got for me?
- 24:01[SPEAKER_04]: 20, 20 times.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it was funny that actually his videographer was like after the fact his videographers like dude, like you've met this kid like three, four times.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, it was kind of funny.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_04]: But that said, little Matt puts the card out there, right?
- 24:14[SPEAKER_04]: And they start negotiating.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_04]: And little Matt stays on the video.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_04]: I want to get 28 for it.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_04]: And Jeff comes back and I was actually pretty impressed.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_04]: Jeff pretty immediately said, I think my cash offer
- 24:26[SPEAKER_04]: So they weren't far off, right?
- 24:28[SPEAKER_04]: Well, the thing was, is there's a comp of this card at 33K, and then there was a comp at 25 more recently.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_04]: Well, Jeff, in the video editing side, he cut out the part of even talking about the 33K comp.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_04]: He was only talking about the 25 25 right.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so it made little Matt look like there was no relative cop above that and little Matt mentioned the fact hey I know one sold privately for 30 and I have offers that are close and Jeff kind of snarkly said we'll go take those offers.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_04]: And little Matt's dealing in a $26,000 card in Jeff had come to $26.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_04]: Matt was at $27.5 and Matthew was like trying to negotiate it.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_04]: And he wanted my opinion and I was kind of standing behind him.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_04]: He said, can I make a call and he looked at me and I said, just roll with it, man.
- 25:13[SPEAKER_04]: Just 26k, even if we left a grand two grand five grand on the table, we graded the card.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_04]: It's a huge win.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_04]: Just move on.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_04]: Well, the way they edited the video, it kind of made little mat like I've got close offers, whatever, which was just a conversation piece and was not untrue, right?
- 25:29[SPEAKER_04]: But all the sudden in the YouTube comments, people are like, who is this kid?
- 25:33[SPEAKER_04]: I hate when people say they have offers and you know, all this kind of stuff, this kid's greedy and blah, blah, blah, blah, and so they're flaming little mats.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_04]: So, current, but
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: like he took out the part where we were even mentioning.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_00]: So it makes him seem like he pays 110%.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like there's a combat 33K cut that out.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about that comp for five minutes.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_00]: And he cut it out to make it seem like he pays over.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_04]: So, current, what's your opinion when you're in negotiation with somebody, right?
- 26:01[SPEAKER_04]: I think there's, there's a, there's a positive and a negative here.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_04]: How relative is it to bring the idea to the table and a negotiation that you have offers or whatever?
- 26:10[SPEAKER_04]: Do you think that's a relative part of the conversation?
- 26:12[SPEAKER_03]: It.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_03]: I think it is if you're trying to like you're trying to like if you're not selling if you have offers it let's say 25,000 right and he's offering you're you have an offer a 26,000 and he's offering 25,000 I think it's very fair to say like look I have an offer a 26,000 that's why I'm looking to get more I think it's relevant there right
- 26:35[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, like, what did, what did you say you had offers at that 207K we had at Seoul that 27K.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_04]: But you just said I have offers close and Jeff said take those offers.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_04]: And Matthew and I were talking about this last night and not an argument way or anything.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_04]: But I kind of said, listen, I don't know that when you're trying to negotiate like that, it's relevant for you to say I have offers.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_04]: I think you just deal with the deal at hand.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_04]: And if the guy's not close, you just say, Hey, man, I'm not closer.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_04]: Whatever.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_04]: But at the same time, everybody that's commenting on YouTube,
- 27:05[SPEAKER_04]: There's no way there's dudes have $26,000 cards to negotiate on.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_04]: Like, period.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_03]: No, no, no.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_03]: They're just, it's, yeah, it's wishful thinking.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_03]: But like, the only time I'll really bring in, I have offers is, if, let's just say, I'm, I had to, I had to, I'm, I'm selling a super, right?
- 27:20[SPEAKER_03]: And somebody's like, I'll pay you 15k for that.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm like, well, no, I, I, I turned down 20k already.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_03]: and I turned it down, like you're in the wrong ballpark, kind of thing, you know what I mean?
- 27:29[SPEAKER_04]: And I think, I think, too, with a card like a super or like a show, hey, always is PSA 10, like a really rare card, it's relevant because it's like, bro, this card's not walking up to your table.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_04]: You know, yeah, it all the time.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_04]: No.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_04]: So it's like, hey, let's just have a conversation about it.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_04]: It was interesting how the video it is edited or whatever.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_03]: And then he could control the narrative.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_03]: However, he will.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_04]: And it was super funny with these people on, you know, on YouTube, kind of, you know, wanting the flame won't matter about, you know.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_03]: The one thing, the one thing you have learned with all that stuff is anytime you put content out there, your name is put out there, and your face is put out there, like you're gonna get hate in a hobby.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_03]: No matter what, no matter what.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_03]: It doesn't feel good, but at least it means you're doing something right, you know?
- 28:15[SPEAKER_03]: You're sitting there doing, you made a deal with Jeff Wilson and you made a lot of money.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_03]: Like, he controlled the narrative, yeah, but you did something good, you know what I mean?
- 28:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and you know, not the mention, not the mention last time we did a deal.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_00]: Can I share the story of last time what happened?
- 28:28[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, with the, was that what the police meant in the background?
- 28:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_03]: So this story is going to be some now.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_00]: I was telling this Aaron Judge card and the policeman comes up behind me like, wow, this card's fire.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_00]: Can I hold it?
- 28:41[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm like, show the police officer of the card.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_00]: Any photo shots, the front page, the clip, the thumbnail, the thumbnail, and it's like, fake card sold at Atlanta card show and it's a picture of me with a bunch of police officer going to call
- 28:57[SPEAKER_03]: That's too fun guys.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_03]: I want to let you do your recap, but I want to show you one thing before I go.
- 29:02[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, she's home buddy This is the top's inception Mike trout in scribes sports card CEO autoneursy number Jersey number.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_04]: It is at 50 number to 50 27-50.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_03]: That's right Beauty baby.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_03]: That is right.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's it
- 29:22[SPEAKER_03]: The guy who hit that, his name is Dave, his son actually, him in a son pole that is son-paten.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_03]: And it was such good guys, like they were just like, we want you to have this card, like, you know, people for some reason people on this Facebook post were like, I need that card, I want it, like, I'll pay whatever.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm just like, why the fucking people want this card?
- 29:42[SPEAKER_03]: Like, do they think Mike is calling himself the sports card seat?
- 29:45[SPEAKER_03]: Like, I don't understand.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_03]: Like, why they want this card?
- 29:48[SPEAKER_03]: Like, he got to be a ridiculous human being to want that card.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_03]: And they went, they took it to a local show where it turns out people want to buy it to sell it to me.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yeah.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_03]: So thank you.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_03]: They haven't made one.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_00]: Don't even soak.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: Dude, it would have been so funny if Gary bought it.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_00]: And he sent it to you.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_00]: And he was like, it's like, yeah, you got to buy it.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_03]: I want to kill them.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I want to kill them.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_03]: All right.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_03]: All right, fellas.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_03]: This was fun.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_03]: I'm looking forward to listening listening tomorrow to hear you guys recap.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks for having me on your show, guys.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, Aaron.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_04]: All right, current, please let it.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_04]: Okay, a little Matt, we're going to jump into kind of a recap here of fanatics fest.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_04]: And that was fun kind of catching up with current on the hobby stuff.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_04]: But like, let's just dive right in, man, what is your immediate reaction to fanatics fest?
- 30:33[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if you're a sports fan, and you don't go to an access, at least once in your life, you're missing out.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_00]: That's my immediately like, you get to see stuff there as like the celebrity culture, the sports culture that you'll never get to see anywhere out.
- 30:47[SPEAKER_04]: Well, it literally is about access and eyes.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's like you get to see people that you would never see in person outside of paying a ticket to go to a game, you know what I mean?
- 30:57[SPEAKER_04]: And close proximity.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly, like you'll keep randomly.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't even walking, like a lot of people to storm the athletes.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: I was randomly walking, and Derek Jeter walks right by me.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_00]: Game of Thrones, tell what's up to him.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't even like planning on it, just walk by him, and celebrities just walking by you every minute, like it's insane.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_04]: So what's funny, man, is I want to talk a little bit about celebrity culture, right?
- 31:18[SPEAKER_04]: And so the sports card hobby and athletes and sports fandom, there is an element of celebrity culture, right?
- 31:24[SPEAKER_04]: Like these are guys you look up to, you watch and play, and you get a chance to meet them.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_04]: It's pretty cool.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_04]: Like I mean, when I met Calrock and Jr. in person, it was like, man, this is nostalgic, you know,
- 31:34[SPEAKER_04]: I didn't meet Bo Jackson, but I saw him in close proximity.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_04]: It's like, these are my childhood guys that I watched, you know?
- 31:39[SPEAKER_04]: And now celebrity cultures have been changed so much with like social media.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_04]: And how people are celebrities that I have no clue who they are because they have big social media following.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_04]: But, but it's amazing to see how people flock to these folks.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_04]: You know, and a little bit one of the things I was really kind of impressed about by you is you weren't kind of like star struck, you know, but at the same time, who would you say from your perspective were the top people there and kind of like your response to them when Leonardo messy walked in the room.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: You could like the whole car show weekend you could you could you could you could walk anywhere, but when messy was at the center stage, there was no one in the card aisles because everyone went to go watch messy.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_00]: So I first say Leonardo Messi, when LeBron, when LeBron was there was pretty, pretty crazy.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_00]: When Brady went to the card vault booth, I got a beer spowed on me.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_00]: When Brady was like trying to like go through, it was nuts.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_00]: And other people like when, when Cooper flag walked out, it was nuts.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_00]: Cooper flag, AJ debons stuff, and number one picked this year when he was playing stalker, there were a lot of people watching.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_04]: And yeah, when you were a Bieber, were you around Bieber came out?
- 32:46[SPEAKER_00]: I was not, but I saw videos that looked insane.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, you know, and in my room when Wendy when everyone knows Wendy's in the room.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, huge.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_00]: You can see his head from the whole show full.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's what's interesting.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_04]: Michael Rubin's done a fantastic job at bridging this gap between celebrity culture and sports culture and trying to end their gut and integrate that into sports cards right now.
- 33:08[SPEAKER_04]: and you know it's very strategic right on behalf of this billion dollar organization and they've done a really good job of it I mean you know we had the privilege and opportunity to be in kind of a private event and they brought these celebrities and athletes into the room you know you got to kind of hang in proximity with Tom Brady open in packs you got to interview Pat Cronent and he towns you got to interview Logan Paul you know you got dinner you know
- 33:32[SPEAKER_04]: Mike Mayhand is a buddy friend of the show.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_04]: He's been on the show before we did interview with Mayhand as well.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_04]: You probably could have done an interview with Ruben.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_04]: He was available, but you know, when you look at this thing, it's like what I love about it is how relatable.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_04]: It makes the athletes and the celebrities kind of relatable to like everyday people.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, because like all the athletes, you know, all they want you to do is just when you're having a conversation with them just like talk talking about there.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_00]: I can normal person and when I had the interviews Logan Paul part of it showed me he was engaged by I still have a lot of athletes when, you know, when someone asked them a boring question that they want to go somewhere fast, they give the quickest answer possible.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_00]: But when I asked Logan Paul, his question, something that popped out to me is, he said, all right, there's two things.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_00]: When he said two things, that means that he's given his full answer.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_00]: He's not, he's not given like a half answer because he like, he truly wants to like put information out there and tell people what he thinks.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like he's saying, you know, one one thing to get it over with quickly.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_00]: So I thought I was going to grow.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you know, and I loved about that, too, when you asked him that, he said, man, that's a great question, you know, and when you ask Cody Bellinger about the stats thing, he's like, oh, man, come on, you know, you could tell, but you could tell he was kind of curious too, because he was like, dang, I probably didn't even realize that I was in elite company with rookie of the year.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_04]: World Series championship, you know, VP regular season and then all star game MVP.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_04]: So that was pretty, that was pretty cool.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_04]: And you know, you've done a great job of that.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_04]: And you know, I think, you know, if something you want to continue to do, that's definitely like a path for you in the hobby, not just buying and selling cards, but being able to kind of like,
- 35:05[SPEAKER_04]: do the interviews and be relatable.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_04]: And one of the things really cool man and for me to just kind of encourage you and our listeners too is like you could almost be like an advocate or like a voice for like our listeners and your peers and friends, like you know, the kind of things that they would want to hear from their favorite athletes and celebrities.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_04]: You know, and so like I think that's pretty I think that's relatable for folks.
- 35:26[SPEAKER_04]: You know what I mean?
- 35:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for sure.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, just when a system we were in that room, it was pretty surreal, like it's funny because right when Tom Brady walked in, he came right to like where I was standing.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_00]: And I held a pack, I held a pack out and I gave it to him and he said, you wanna do a pack battle?
- 35:40[SPEAKER_00]: And we just like started opening packs.
- 35:42[SPEAKER_00]: And he asked me what my name was and I gave him a fist bump.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_00]: And then he was like, show me the cards to God and I'll never forget that experience.
- 35:49[SPEAKER_00]: And the only place that'll, that'll happen is really up for now, it's best.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and that could say they do such a great job, and we just have to give a shout out to our friends at fanatics for the opportunity to have the media passes this weekend.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_04]: We couldn't say enough about the experience, you know, it was awesome not only for me and you, but your twins, the brothers were there, Grace and Wyatt, they had a great show weekend.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_04]: It was just so great, man.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it was just everything about it was very surreal for us from like small town North Carolina, like going to the big city and being in the middle of all that stuff, you know.
- 36:19[SPEAKER_04]: very well done very well put together you know it's obviously spent a lot of money on it but it just shows you right now that there's an absolute push to bridge the gap between collectors and the hobby and then this sports media social media you know hype celebrity culture that's out there.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_04]: And it's really, really interesting, and I think that's one of the reasons why you see the sports card hobby doing what it's doing is because it's coming into the limelight with guys like Mr.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_04]: Wonderful, you know, getting engaged athletes by their own cards like it there's a vibe right now that you can definitely feel absolutely and we can talk about the card like the cards on the shelf floor if we want.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so let's let's go ahead with the finisher thought there.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_00]: I was just going to start and go on the car the car space at Sonana, it's we just kind of pretty much covered the celebrity culture, but we want to die if we want to dive into the cards.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_00]: It was a great selling show great selling show.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_00]: There were a lot of big buyers in the room.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_00]: I thought buying was really tough buying was really tough at a show.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_00]: I'd normally spend probably like five times what I spent at that show.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_00]: But that wasn't that.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_04]: So let's talk about a couple things.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_04]: So number one, we're going to focus on this idea that the buying versus selling when you go to large shows like this, one of the things I think people need to know is all of these vendors and repack companies and flipping guys like they need inventory to stay alive.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_04]: right and so they're going to these big shows for the purpose of buying right and so they probably have deeper pockets than you and so whereas we used to kind of go now and that being said when you're dealing with high end cards I think that's probably accurate.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_04]: On moderate mid-end cards I think you can actually probably find some value there.
- 38:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I didn't really, I was really looking at mid end cards or whatever, but I will say the repackers need low end and mid end more than ever right now, like some repack companies are paying 110% if they can find cards from 20 to $300 and good names, especially slabs.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so I mean, I think I think buying and selling, if you're going to these shows, you have to be really, really keen on having a range and having a group of players and then having a strategy with what you're buying and where you're trying to turn it, right?
- 38:33[SPEAKER_04]: Now, if you're holding rare valuable cards, it's just getting harder and harder because everybody's willing to hold on to them because they're getting their numbers, you know?
- 38:42[SPEAKER_04]: And so one of the things that I thought I would never say that I would say now is
- 38:50[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah, I mean, sometimes this is the only place where you can find it.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like me and you were talking like how many 52 mannels or how many like we actually The corporate talking about was the 48 leaf Ted Williams.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't see a single one on the whole show for not at all.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_04]: And the one Ted the one Ted Williams.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_04]: I saw you know, DC when I saw a one.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think it's the 41 playball color.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_04]: I bought it.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah
- 39:14[SPEAKER_04]: And I bought it.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_04]: I bought it between the last two cops.
- 39:16[SPEAKER_04]: I paid pretty strong on it.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_04]: It's a great looking one.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_04]: It's very centered.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I bought it.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_04]: It's in and I think the national this year is going to be really interesting because I think the price points are going to be stupid.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_04]: I think what dealers are going to ask in their case.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_00]: Can we talk about how embarrassing the prices were in some of these vendors cases.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, let's talk about this.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's go ahead and talk about this.
- 39:38[SPEAKER_00]: If you're asking $20,000 for a Brady Chrome PSA 9 that has direct composite 14K from two days ago, like, are you, why are you, there's a thousand of that card in the room.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_00]: I saw more Brady and Crones and Flier Jordan's than any card in the room, than any card in the room, because people are putting them out in the cell right now.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_00]: The prices are way too high on them.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_00]: And if you're pricing,
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm sorry, but if you're pricing, I saw Flier Jordan 7 price at 18k.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_00]: I saw a hundred of them on the show floor for 14k.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_00]: Why even put it in the case?
- 40:13[SPEAKER_04]: Well, I think the point is that you don't want to sell it, right?
- 40:16[SPEAKER_04]: So if you don't want to sell it, but by the counterpoint is like, Yeah, you know what?
- 40:20[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's right out there.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like what did I tell you?
- 40:23[SPEAKER_00]: You put cards out on our trade night table.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't there.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_00]: And as soon as I came back, you said, hey, you're overpriced on these, because I don't want to sell.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_00]: I put them up in the case, because if I don't want to sell, I don't want to have them out on the table and be overpriced on.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I think there's a fine line there, because it's like with cards that you don't see, like what's that Kobe PSA 10?
- 40:41[SPEAKER_04]: We have a pop 13?
- 40:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's a pop 13 number.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_00]: But there's no direct.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I get that, but versus like the Brady Silver that we have, you feel like they're undervalued so you're overcomp on them.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's a fine line, and I think it comes down to having a knowledge of the market and knowing when and like when to sell and what that number is.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_04]: Like by the counterpoint, you know, we had a Michael Jordan refractor that, you know, somebody offered us a really strong number on and you were kind of like, man, should I?
- 41:14[SPEAKER_04]: And I said, dude, take that.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, absolutely take that.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I was offered a strong price for it, but it's just a car that I don't think goes down anytime soon, it's a really cool car.
- 41:25[SPEAKER_00]: But like, these dealers prices, like, you know, if it's a rare car, you don't see it, but I feel like my market knowledge sense, like I know what these prices are already in my head.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_00]: I can tell you the price of every single grade of a fleer Jordan star Jordan, Brady Chrome, Brady Sleeer, Kobe Top's Chrome, LeBron Top's Chrome, Curry Top's.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_00]: So when I see the sticker on it, I walk right past it, because I already know in my head what it does.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like like you always say, but I don't know how you look at all the cards because I can scan a table on two seconds.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and no, there's value there exactly.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_00]: And.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_00]: It was that kind of this weekend, like when you saw cards at cops, you bought them because you can find them anywhere over at anywhere.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_04]: Sure.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we bought three Mickey panels.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_04]: We bought two 53s.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_04]: We bought a 56.
- 42:10[SPEAKER_04]: We bought the 41 Ted, and then we bought a Steph Curry Caboon, a rare Steph Curry Caboon, and we also bought a Michael Jordan promo PSA 9.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_04]: And so the cards we bought are just cards you very rarely see.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I had to pay, I had to pay 95% plus on every single car.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and again, and I'm glad we have them, because now we've got some great, great inventory headed into, headed into the national.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_04]: But one of the things that I want to bring up, and I really want to talk about this Matthew, I think this is going to benefit our listeners so much.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_04]: And I can't emphasize this enough is how much market knowledge influences value.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_04]: And here's what I'm going to, here's the example I'm going to use.
- 42:47[SPEAKER_04]: When we were at this private function,
- 42:52[SPEAKER_04]: And among those packs was the new Gary V. Topchrome Sapphire release, as well as the Topchrome Soccer Fanatics Fest exclusives.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_04]: And your brothers opened these Gary V. Packs and they opened these Topchrome Soccer Packs.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_04]: We know absolutely nothing about Topchrome Soccer and Topchrome Gary V. And we got flooded at Tradite by people offering us
- 43:22[SPEAKER_00]: They were always left.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_04]: Always low.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_04]: And it was people who knew that market, trying to take advantage of somebody who didn't know the market.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_04]: And again, we were gifted these packs.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_04]: So you know me, I'm like, do take it.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_04]: Like it's a win.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_00]: But we were getting all burnt by 30 bucks on a card.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_00]: We ended up selling for 150.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_04]: And we did sell some of them, low and then the twins were like, dude, why do we do that?
- 43:44[SPEAKER_04]: You know what it hit me Matthew?
- 43:45[SPEAKER_04]: That's why people struggle with Bowman.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_04]: It's because they truly don't understand Bowman and how the color parallels and how the hype around players affects value.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_04]: I think about some kid who opens a pack of cards right now and hits an Eric Hartman auto and it's a gold.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, cool right and somebody goes, hey man, I'll give you 500 bucks for that card.
- 44:08[SPEAKER_04]: I don't even know what the card does.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_04]: But the kids like heck you had it like I'll take that, you know, and once we started to do our market research, we sold one of those soccer cards for $1700 was a red number to five and we went to the guy who wanted the card who was willing to pay the number for it.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_04]: Same thing with the Gary V stuff.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_04]: We sold a lot of the top scrim gravy.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_04]: By the way, shout out to Gary V in the V friends team because my sons came up to your table and y'all were super gracious and super helpful and Gary V actually signed one of the cards.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_04]: And I can't say enough about the reputation that that guy has.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_04]: I know Gary V does his videos and he'll drop some language and stuff.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_04]: But when he's dealing with like kids and stuff, man, dude, I respect the heck out of that guy.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_04]: and how he manages his business and how his employees treat kids.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_04]: Like, that goes like years for me because there are other vendors and dealers in this hobby who treat kids like absolute crap.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_04]: And I just don't, I don't appreciate that at all.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_04]: And so just shout out to Gary V and his team, man, V friends.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_04]: We might not be into collecting those cards, but the way that you treat your kids and the customers, man, just bravo cheers to you guys.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_00]: He's always been super kind to me.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_00]: Every time I come up to him up national asking for an interview, he always does it.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_04]: super, super good dude.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_04]: So anyway, back to market knowledge Matthew.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_04]: I think that if someone really wants to get like the way to get better is to get really strong in the market knowledge of a specific vertical within this hobby.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_04]: It could be Pokemon, it could be V friends, it could be soccer, baseball, basketball, and then go more niche within that.
- 45:47[SPEAKER_04]: I think that's how you win and that's why you're so good at this game.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_04]: And
- 45:50[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's what I was going to say, like, a lot of people have their niches, whether it's football, case hits, like, I know it all, like, like, I can, that's why I feel like I, I, I'm, that's my, where my success job comes from, because if I find a football guy with a Bowman card, I can buy it off him.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_00]: And then if I find a Bowman guy with a Michael Jordan card, I can buy it off him.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_04]: Because I know when you say, you know it all, I want to, I want to clarify that, like, you're not saying, I know it all.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_04]: What you're saying is you have a pretty strong knowledge of all different markets.
- 46:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like I know multiple different markets.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know everything about those markets, but I know multiple different.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_04]: And the other thing too is knowing people who know stuff about those markets.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_00]: And guess what, if you're in multiple different markets, you have connections in every different market.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_04]: So one of the other things we want to talk about Matthew is, is I just want to mention briefly what I noticed at Fanatics Fest is how strong the repack presence was.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I mean, who were some of the biggest booths that you remember?
- 46:48[SPEAKER_00]: Backyard, Phil's bomb, swish, with a hobby.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_00]: CB47.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_04]: So, yep.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_04]: So, these, these repat companies, I mean, they're doing very well, obviously, but their presence is stronger and stronger and stronger, and you can tell there's like a culture within the sports card hobby that is the repat game, because everybody who's on their streams is wanting to meet the stream.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_04]: The stream host and all that kind of stuff, you know, we saw Mike Mayher with Carbel 47 now and Mike was super gracious Mike was on the show here on the sports card CEO and, you know, just a great dude took time to chat with us and stuff, you know, and all these guys are their dudes, just like us, they're just guys, but like, man, they've done so well at kind of building up these individual brands.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_04]: And they're buying cars really strong and they're they're doing it man and like people who hate on repacts like i'm telling you like they are a strong reason why the hobby is getting so much hyper now absolutely i mean Repacts like they're going through thousands and thousands of cards a week and
- 47:53[SPEAKER_00]: The market is strong and the market is good right now, partly because of that.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_04]: Yep, and I'll say our buddies over at heaters as well.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_04]: We stop by and solve them, pay in super fair, super strong.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_04]: And one of the things that I tribute our success to as well, as I think we have a lot of really good, and this is the final point I want to make.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_04]: I think we've done a really good job of maintaining a lot of different relationships with a lot of different people.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_04]: And we're not into burning bridges.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_04]: We're not into doing things dishonestly.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_04]: We're not trying to get too much out of people.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_04]: We know what people need, what people want.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_04]: And that's why we have relationships with multiple different guys and different spheres and different market segments or whatever.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_04]: And so I would just emphasize like how important relationships and connections are for a successful business environment.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_04]: And I can't, I mean, I say this all the time, we'll Matthew, do you?
- 48:41[SPEAKER_04]: It's like, as you continue to do this, I mean, we're on this show for that very reason, because of our connections with Kern and with Bubba, you know, when they got rolling and then of course they've invited us to host and now we're kind of, you know, running the show as far as a hosting app, you know, aspect of it.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_04]: And it's all because of those connections, man.
- 48:57[SPEAKER_04]: So just a couple of thoughts, man, on the final, you know, for a recap of the facts, Matthew, we're headed to the national next week, you know, what do you kind of have final thoughts
- 49:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, if you're not going to national, well, if you are going to national, congratulations, this is the best card show in the world.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_00]: And you're going to find cards there that you're going to, they're not going to see anywhere else.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll, we'll give you some tips on national next week, but if you're not going to national.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_00]: Right now, from next two weeks, is the best time to buy public on auction because everyone is saving their money for the national and they're not buying on eBay or they're not buying here because they're wanted to save their money spent at national so there's a lot less buyers right now and then a lot of people have the national aren't really looking on eBay at their phones so you can get some good steals on eBay.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_04]: little match tip of the day.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_04]: Stay in fresh on the auction's why everybody's in Chicago.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_04]: So, well dude, it was a blast at Fanatics Fast again to all of our listeners there about who's stopped.
- 49:52[SPEAKER_04]: By the way, if you guys are going to be at, you know, the national, please say hello to us.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_04]: We'd love to connect with you guys, chat it up, whatever, all the things.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_04]: Always appreciate that from folks who reach out.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_04]: Never hesitate to do that.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_04]: It's part of the reason why we do this.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_04]: is to be able to kind of pour into, you know, community and help people.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_04]: That's, that's, that's who we are and it's what we do what we love to do.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_04]: So we will be in Chicago Tuesday through Saturday.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_04]: We've already got some connections to meet up scheduled, but if you're there, come say hello, what's up and wish you guys a very safe travels to the National and a wonderfully successful 2026 National in Chicago this year.
- 50:25[SPEAKER_04]: Matthew, Bravo Buddy on a fanatics fest victory.
- 50:29[SPEAKER_04]: You did wonderfully well and you should be proud.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_04]: It was a big success.
- 50:34[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_00]: See you guys, peace.
