- 0:16SPEAKER_00: All right, everybody.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: Welcome back for another episode of BR at the Movies Podcast.
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: I'm Barry.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: And I'm Robin.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: So this week it was my choice of film.
- 0:24SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: I decided that I'm going to watch a film that I had picked up a little bit ago and haven't seen yet.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: So I figured it would be nice for both of us to kind of dive into a film that we haven't seen.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Um as we know, sometimes that works and sometimes it's a disaster.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: So it's it's the great unknown.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: It's the adventure.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Um, so the film that we are gonna watch is Operation Final.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: And this is Oh, I thought it was Final Operation.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Nope, Operation Final.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: Um, it was made in 2018.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: So not not too too long ago.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Um stars uh Oscar Isaac, Ben Kingsley.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: Um, they're the two big names.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Um, and then there's a bunch of guys that you might know.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Uh Nick Kroll.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Um, he's he he's definitely one that he's he pops up a lot.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Greg Hill.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Um so there's a a lot of uh supporting actors that that are you they're definitely good, they're definitely faces.
- 1:31SPEAKER_00: You definitely will you'll recognize them from other works and stuff.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Um so this is the true story of um the operation to hunt down one of Hitler's top lieutenants um after um after uh Hitler was after Hitler was um was killed.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: So this is so this is based off a true story.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: So the way that this the way that it was was that this was a story that was known to like certain people at a time and then it was released later and then was like then they had they people found out about and then later on then they wrote the story, then you wrote the story about sorry, that was me coughing.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: That's okay.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Um this film I feel like it didn't really gain a lot of traction.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: 2018, did you say?
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, 2018.
- 2:27SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: Um I feel like I I remember when it was when it was gonna be coming out, and then I didn't get a chance to see it in the f in in the theaters, and then I never really heard anything else about it.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: So I feel like it it just didn't it it just didn't get enough momentum and then at the end.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: This was um, you know, pre-Corona for movie theaters where it's like, okay, yeah, you know, you're you put out your film in the theater, okay.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: You got the you know, pretty much a weekend and a half, maybe, you know, to kind of like you know, have it pick up something and then start to do really good.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: And then, you know, if it doesn't, then they just move on and then they it's out of the theaters.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: I feel like now it's it's totally different for the way the theaters operate and everything like that.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Um yeah.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: But so so yeah, so I don't know if it's that it just didn't get enough traction, if it was if it was timing or or what came out around it.
- 3:29SPEAKER_01: Right, yeah.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: That makes such a difference.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Because I feel like um uh like 1914, I think, kind of came out around that, like around that time, and that was like super heavy or 1917, sorry, 1917.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: Um, it was like super heavy on that, and it was just like so and then I know Dunkirk came out probably around that time too.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: So it might have been that it was just like oversaturation of those types of films, maybe for a little bit.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: So I don't know.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Um it's one that it's been on it's been on my radar, obviously, that I picked it up, and even I've had it now for a little bit, and uh it's one of those like right, right, yeah, I'm gonna get around to that.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: I'll get I'll get around to watching it after I re-watch another episode of that 70 show and you know, watch more of the.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: We got our priorities straight.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're fine.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: We're fine.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: It's it's kind of funny that there's times where I feel like if it's a film I haven't seen before, I want to dedicate that moment of watching it.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: And it's like I don't want to be doing something else, I don't want to be eating, I don't, you know, even though we we eat during this, but it's a little bit.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: But it is yeah, I do understand that because I have I've had films that, you know, like I only have a short amount of time, so it's not enough time to watch the whole film.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: So it's like, do I really want to start it and stop it?
- 4:55SPEAKER_01: Wouldn't I rather just like watch it all the way through?
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: So yeah, it it sometimes it's hard to really find that time that where it's like I don't know, you kind of want to, you know, give it some credit.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: Well, you want to give them your full attention too.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: I mean, because especially if it's a serious film.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: And um, you know, yeah, I I understand what you're saying.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: And if it's a film that you've seen a bunch of times where you're just like, you know, you can't.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: I listen to it, I can picture it all in my head, you know, kind of thing.
- 5:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: And then you know the beats, and you're like, okay, you know, this is a good stopping point, you know.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: It's like I you know, watch it just a little bit or something.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: But yeah, it's so I think I do I tend to do that a lot.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: So then I'll have films that will just it's nice that we're doing this.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: So this is our designated, you know, focus in on one film.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: That's exactly right.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: It's kind of nice.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: I never really thought about it that way.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: Well, we are going to dive in and watch Operation Final, and then we will come back a little bit to talk about it.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: All right, we will be back in a little while.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: All right, everybody, welcome back.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: We just got done watching Operation Final, and even though neither one of us has seen this since this was my choice, I'll let you go and take us away on the review on this one.
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 6:18SPEAKER_01: Um it I I thought it was really good.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: And I liked the way it was filmed.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: Um I like that it felt historically accurate.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: Yes, yes.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: And I and yeah, it wasn't I I'm I'm assuming it's not wasn't embellished at all either.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: It really was how it went down, how it happened.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: And um, yeah, it was very tense and it was very yeah, you know, part of it is like, how could these people do this?
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: You know, and they and they and they really did.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: They really they put their lives on the line just to do this.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: And it was pretty amazing.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Um and they accomplished what they set out to do.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like they went in, they found him, they confirmed it was him, took him and got him out and got him out.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it wasn't easy and there were you know delays and you know, and and real I mean so many times it could have gone completely wrong.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, but it could have gone sideways really fast.
- 7:30SPEAKER_01: I gotta say, Ben Kingsley did a really good job, but you just hated him with every fiber.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: And it's one where you know Ben Kingsley doesn't play a lot of characters that you you don't, you know, you're not rooting for.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: But he's so intense because usually his his characters are very edgy anyway.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Well, that is true.
- 7:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he doesn't yeah, he usually has has a bit of an edge to his characters and yeah.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: So that's it.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: And I think there's only one other movie I haven't seen it, um, but I know that he plays, I mean, a total bad guy.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: Oh, really?
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: And he can he can really pull it off because he is a very good actor.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: He really is, you can really tell.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: And um Oscar Isaac was he's always good.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's he's a great guy.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: Because it was a group of people that were doing this, so I mean, that was the core group.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: They were really good actors, and they're it was it was pretty amazing, you know, and you really felt the emotion behind everything that they're doing, yeah.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: But it made me so mad.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: 1960, and the Nazis in Argentina were like gathering together and declaring their allegiance to Hitler in 1960.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: And it wasn't it wasn't a small like random little band of guys and public figures, the priests, like all of them, yeah.
- 8:58SPEAKER_01: Still that the you know, hating the Jews, and it's it was all their fault, and uh it is just so ugly to hear that.
- 9:06SPEAKER_01: But you know you know what happens now.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 9:11SPEAKER_01: And so I mean you can't turn a blind eye to it, you can't really you can't do it.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: And and some people are very vocal and very just they'll let you know that.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: And it's just like, oh my goodness.
- 9:27SPEAKER_01: Um so I know we're we're here's the the trailer uh in front of us.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: Um there was the the young girl who played Stella.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 9:40SPEAKER_01: I think I have seen her in other things and really liked her, but I don't know if it's the person I'm thinking of.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: But I thought she did a very good job.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: Um, because if it is the person I'm thinking of, because I think I just saw a movie with her in it not too long ago.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: Let me let me check out.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: I mean, why why wonder when we have the technology?
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: But um, but I mean, right down to like the smaller characters, they really bring brought their a game to this.
- 10:12SPEAKER_01: It felt like they were all I and I can't imagine making this film if it was personal for some of the people.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: I mean, uh family personal kind of thing.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: Or um and just you know, the just the they wanted to show what truly happened and who this person really was.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: Because it's a it's a very important story.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's like and how they brought him to justice.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 10:42SPEAKER_01: And um, yeah, it's like they they didn't, you know, Hollywoodize it at all.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: They didn't sugarcoat it, you know, they were doing very well with that.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: Can't find her, can you?
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: Well it was so the the woman who played Vera.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: No, no, Stella.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: Oh, Stella.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: Sorry, Stella.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: You know the girlfriend?
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: The girlfriend.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Of the of the young man when he when they go to the meeting and she leaves?
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, okay.
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: I I Sorry, I got all mixed up.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, that's fine.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: That's fine.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: No, that's fine.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: I'm pretty sure it is who I thought it was, and it's like, wow, last thing I thought saw her in was a total like a rom-com kind of thing.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: It's like, wow, she can act.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: I'm having a hard time finding her finding her character in the list where it's well, I mean, it was an important character because that was the person who kind of made made the the connection at in the beginning.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: But um but anyway, but anyway we will find it.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: We'll look it up, yeah.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: Yes, but but really the acting in this was so good.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: I mean And the quiet it was it was the quiet moments that were in between, you know, like the sharing b between two characters when like they would one would deliver the line and the other would just like absorb it and just like.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: And you were wondering, were you were are they gonna answer them?
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: Are they gonna engage?
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, or are they just gonna walk out?
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and just kind of left kind of left you hanging there for a second, and then it's like, okay, what are you know, because they they get to the point where they need his his signature on the document, and then it's like, okay, what are they gonna give, you know, in order to in order to get that, and what you know, uh what uh um, you know, what it what characters are gonna give up what information to, and then it's like but then you know, you're giving up information for a person that you know is going back to face trial that there's pretty there's no way he's gonna get out of losing that trial.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: You know what the outcome is gonna be.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: And then so it's like there's something about like, okay, it's like you're giving information for some for somebody who's who's gonna die.
- 13:02SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 13:04SPEAKER_01: And it's I don't know, it it it was really good.
- 13:06SPEAKER_01: It's very intense.
- 13:08SPEAKER_01: I was on the edge of my seat, and you know, my shoulders were going up to my ears because it was like, oh my god.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: And they had the intense music there going in too.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: They didn't it was like yeah, they knew what they were doing.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: But no, I thought I thought it was put together very interestingly and very um understandable.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: It really was.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: It was very understandable what they were doing, it how they were gonna do it.
- 13:31SPEAKER_01: Um, sometimes the plan fell apart a little bit and they had to improvise a bit, but you know, um that's the way it can go also.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: You make your plans and then it's like, okay, well, that went to, you know, that went to crap.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: All right, let's figure something else out.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: You know, we gotta keep going.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: And the idea that they really wanted to bring him to trial.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: I mean, because they could have just taken him out.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, once they make contact with him, they could have, you know, pulled a pulled a pistol out of their, you know, out of a holster and popped him right in the.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: You know, I mean, they that could but that that was not the plan.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: They were not gonna be assassins.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: Well, and that was the thing, like, because they were talking about with how Hitler escaped escaped justice and all his you know the the committing suicide.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and then all the all the other ones that had committed suicide, and he this one he got away.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: So it's like, okay, we have a chance to bring him back and actually, you know, have him stand, you know, trial for one.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: But in the end, you know, he really still thought that he did the right thing.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because he Which just you just want to spit on him, is what you want to do.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: Well, um when he has that confrontation right before they go to go put him on the point where they're putting the injection into him.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: Oh he wants him to be able to put put all the medicine in and actually end his life.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: That's what he's trying to get him to do.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it it got intense there.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it did.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: But um it was just kind of amazing.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: They did bring him to trial.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: And they did bring him to justice.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: And yeah.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: And I think uh, you know, it's it's one of those stories that it's not a I guess that would say it's not like a Hollywood eyes flashy story.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: You know, it's not.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: It's not and it's old school espionage.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: It's old school, you know, it's you know Yeah, because it was 1960.
- 15:24SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 15:24SPEAKER_01: So so they they definitely were true to the period as what you could do, what you couldn't do, how you could do it, this and that.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: And I I I just I thought it was um yeah, it was it was very good.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: It really was.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: But yeah, difficult to watch.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: A little difficult to watch.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I mean it's uh it's a heavy.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: I mean that that's for certain.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: It definitely is.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: But um, but still it's uh it's it's it's kind of amazing.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: That's that's what they went through just to to do this.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: Because I feel like it's you know, it's it's it's history, is you know, as bad as bad as it is of what was done, it's history, and you have to learn from history.
- 16:06SPEAKER_01: And it's like and I feel like that's always the thing.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: It's like it's like yeah, history is not glamorous, it's not, you know, it's not it's not a lot of it isn't is really, really ugly.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: But you have to learn from the ugly of so that way we can identify when people are going down that same path and hopefully be able to prevent you know, future stuff like from this happening, you know.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: I mean, just when people hate a certain group of people, yeah, just because they are just because they're different, yeah.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: Just because they're that.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: And it's just it just hurts.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: It hurts so much.
- 16:49SPEAKER_01: And it's and it's kind of um, you know.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: But it but again, like you're saying, it's good not to forget.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 16:55SPEAKER_01: That's for sure.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: Exactly, yeah.
- 16:57SPEAKER_00: And it's you know, because yeah, we're you know, you learn about you know the the evil people that did it, but you're also it's it's a way of honoring those that were lost, you know, because of those evil people.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but it but it's still but yeah, yeah, the brutality of it.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: There is there is nothing that's gonna make up for that.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: And like you said, like even with his character, it's like at the end where he's like he's so calloused of just like no, I I you know we were we were doing the right thing, and it was just like no you absolutely were not doing the right thing.
- 17:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: And but yeah, but I don't know.
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: Um, but it as far as the film goes, I I liked it a little.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: I I liked it, I thought it was really good.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: I thought that it was definitely heavy and dramatic, um, and you definitely felt every every beat of what was going down.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: Um and then I always think like they're doing an operation or they're doing something, and it's like, okay, how has times changed and what would we be what kind of espionage stuff would be happening now?
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: And it's funny because they're talking about like how the high-tech thing they had was a film camera in a bag that's like a massive bag.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: It was like their highest technology thing they had going at the time take a picture, yeah.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, and it's like and nowadays it's it's we've got so much technology of like how we would be able to to to operate and do stuff, and it's like I'm do a lot of it remotely and be able to communicate and communication, it's like such yeah, such a huge thing.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: And it's like and you're thinking back, like at this time, like their biggest one of their biggest obstacles was figuring out how to get a plane out.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: And it's like, and nowadays I feel like, oh, that's that's like the you know, the low end of what we gotta figure out, what we gotta do, is the you know, getting out that way.
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I mean technology in the right hands and technology in the wrong hands.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: It can be used both ways.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: Absolutely, absolutely.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: It can be it can be used to hurt people and not help people.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: Which I feel like that could that's that's any anything, literally anything, any tool, any any anything, a car, um, you know, a weapon, anything in the wrong hands, it can do a lot of bad, you know, and but you know, in the right hands, then it could be you know, could be an instrument for good.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: But yeah, it's all about the person behind it and the intent.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: Um, but I really I really like the cinematography of it, of this film.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: I thought it was Yeah.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: I thought that the beginning was really interesting.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: The way they filmed that, and um you know, e even though and you know, the for a while there I was thinking, is the pace like slow?
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: But it's not really slow.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: It's purposeful.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: It is, because that is kind of like what is happening.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: It's like you're trying to m they're trying to move forward, they're trying to do something.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: Right, you know, and then then some things are happening, that's great.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: Okay, some things, and then it's like oh, you get stuck.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: And then you're trying to move forward again.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: It's pushing that boulder up that hill.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: And yeah, yeah.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it really I really felt it.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: It really did.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: And it was like, and um, I think I knew the final outcome that they were gonna be successful.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: But to really kind of know about the people that were really there and and doing the work.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: And like we said, doing it in 19 in 1960 with 1960 technology of like, okay, yeah, how are we gonna get how we gonna get this guy out of here?
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: Okay, it's like, you know, we don't we're not creating a a fake mask to put to put on him.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: We're putting on them a a fake beard and um and putting him up in a in a in a in a costume.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: It's pretty much all they were doing.
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: It's just it was um, but yeah, it was it was really good.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: It was it was thought out, it was smart people with you know, really making good use of what they could and what they had.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: And and I think that's probably the best technology there is, is just somebody's brain, just being very intelligent and and knowing how to work things out.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: And you didn't need a bunch of crazy special effects or anything going on or anything.
- 21:39SPEAKER_00: You didn't need all you know all that.
- 21:41SPEAKER_00: It's like you had a good you have a good story, you got good actors, you know, you got great, you know, great people behind it, and it's like that's what you need.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: And I even love like the moment when like um when he thinks of his sister, and then like all of a sudden all the sound goes out from everything, and you and you see her like walking forward.
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: And it's like even even tricks like that where you're just like you're like, yeah, it's not it's not complicated, it's not it's not, it's you know, it's not something new.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: It's like it's been around for forever.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: It's very effective.
- 22:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it's very touching, and they they know how to who uh the person who directed this um did a very good job as far as the choices.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: Because you really you really did end up feeling, you know, for for the characters, and you know, and you and you care about the ones that you want to care about, and you really hate the ones you want to hate, you know.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: So it's like which which all goes back to you know, to great character development, great story, and it's like a great delivery by these actors that you know that it's like, yeah.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: So and that's why I was saying I was like there were gonna be there were probably gonna be people that were gonna pop in that you would that you that you might recognize their their faces on and stuff.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: Because that's even like I was I was looking at I was like, um, because like Nick Um uh oh I just had uh Nick Stoll.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: Um where he's one where it's like you may or Nick, I'm sorry, Nick Kroll.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: Um where uh you may not know his name right away, but then as soon as you see his face, you're like, oh yeah, I've known him from the from this or from that, you know.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: And it's like because he's just one of those like you know, just great working character actors, then it's like yeah, comes in and does a great job.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: So yeah, so that this must have been something that hopefully everyone that's involved with it was very proud of it because it was very good.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: All right, should we go ahead and wrap this one up?
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: I guess so.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: All right, well, thank you everybody for listening.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: Uh, make sure you guys go check out Operation Final, and until next time, I'm Barry.
