- 0:04Speaker 1: one wash Out.
- 0:05Speaker 2: You know, Monday mornings can be a thing, but don't
- 0:08Speaker 2: let that stop you from finding a reason to find
- 0:11Speaker 2: some joy before five o'clock in the morning. It's ninety
- 0:14Speaker 2: seven point one WASHFM 're Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 0:18Speaker 2: It was a good weekend, productive weekend, Chili. Why are
- 0:21Speaker 2: you feeling good this morning?
- 0:23Speaker 3: Well, on Saturday, a beautiful day weatherwise, we decided to
- 0:29Speaker 3: try out our new fishing rods.
- 0:31Speaker 2: And how were the fishing rods?
- 0:33Speaker 3: The rods were fine, the fish were not fishing. We
- 0:37Speaker 3: went to Burke Lake. We may have gone a little
- 0:40Speaker 3: bit later in the day and.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Yeah, you got to go out early in the morning when.
- 0:45Speaker 3: There's not as many people talking on the dock, right,
- 0:48Speaker 3: scaring the fish away.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Well, I don't know that it's people talking on the dock.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I think it's just that it gets too warm. I
- 0:54Speaker 2: don't know.
- 0:55Speaker 4: I mean, it wasn't that warm, but yeah.
- 0:57Speaker 2: It's certainly not a pro fisher person, but I do
- 0:59Speaker 2: know about fishing. Yeah, I should have gone to a
- 1:01Speaker 2: stocked lake.
- 1:02Speaker 4: It was, well, it is stocked lake. Is stock they
- 1:06Speaker 4: have there?
- 1:06Speaker 2: Is that like a paper fish sort of a lake.
- 1:09Speaker 3: No, no, no, but I mean there's enough fish in there
- 1:11Speaker 3: that people catch and release. It's not like it's not
- 1:15Speaker 3: completely empty. There are people that like to go out there.
- 1:18Speaker 3: But then we had a nice picnic afterwards, so we
- 1:20Speaker 3: did end up making a great day out of it.
- 1:23Speaker 4: So that's why I'm feeling good. Why are you feeling good?
- 1:25Speaker 2: Well, next time, you'll bring in some fish into the studio.
- 1:28Speaker 4: No, not keep them fish.
- 1:29Speaker 2: No, well, I know, but at some point in time
- 1:32Speaker 2: after fishing, you'll bring some fish in for breakfast. It'll
- 1:34Speaker 2: be tasty. I'm feeling good because somewhere in Massachusetts right now,
- 1:40Speaker 2: my brother is probably about to get up and start
- 1:44Speaker 2: his new job that's almost the same as the old job.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Oh okay, you know, I don't know if you've followed
- 1:49Speaker 2: along with the home game, I might have mentioned that
- 1:51Speaker 2: my brother was caught up in some of the government
- 1:53Speaker 2: downsizing that happened as a contractor, and he, uh, you know,
- 1:57Speaker 2: he steadfastly kind of put his nose to the grindstone
- 2:00Speaker 2: and found himself a new gig good got back. I
- 2:03Speaker 2: think he wasn't really super clear in the family group
- 2:07Speaker 2: chat about it, but he got back with the people
- 2:09Speaker 2: that you know, had to make some cutbacks because of things,
- 2:11Speaker 2: and that's good. It's good to be where they know you,
- 2:14Speaker 2: you know.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Sure.
- 2:15Speaker 2: So I'm hoping he's finding the success that he found before.
- 2:18Speaker 2: And I hope that he's happy, because if you're happy
- 2:21Speaker 2: and you're working a job, you're not really working, are you?
- 2:24Speaker 2: Hopefully you're ready to go? This morning, it's ninety seven
- 2:27Speaker 2: point one. Watch FM. Tell us why you're feeling good?

- 2:50Speaker 3: citing what it calls excessive US demands and the ongoing
- 2:54Speaker 3: naval blockade. The move comes after the President said US
- 2:57Speaker 3: envoys would head to Pakistan for negotiations and warned of
- 3:00Speaker 3: major strikes if Iran does not agree to a deal.
- 3:05Speaker 3: A community in Shreveport, Louisiana, is grieving after a mass
- 3:08Speaker 3: shooting left eight children dead and two others injured early yesterday.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Police say the suspect, whose father of seven of the victims,
- 3:17Speaker 3: open fire after a domestic disturbance and then was later
- 3:20Speaker 3: killed by police. A Fairfax County Police sergeant has been
- 3:25Speaker 3: arrested and charged with aggravated sexual battery following an off
- 3:29Speaker 3: duty incident. Authority say Matthew Silvester was taken into custody
- 3:33Speaker 3: early Saturday and placed on administrative leave. An eighteen year
- 3:38Speaker 3: old Bowie man has been arrested in connection with the
- 3:41Speaker 3: carjacking of a Prince George's County County clerk in Bowie.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Police say Kerry Hicks is accused of armed carjacking and
- 3:49Speaker 3: leading officers on a brief pursuit before being taken into custody.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Montgomery County Public Schools is asking for community input on
- 3:59Speaker 3: possible changes to school schedules, including adjustments to start times
- 4:03Speaker 3: and also the overall calendar. Official safe feedback will help
- 4:07Speaker 3: shape future decisions as the district looks to better balance
- 4:11Speaker 3: student needs, transportation, and also academic priorities. And a recent
- 4:16Speaker 3: study found that terminally ill patients often report vivid end
- 4:21Speaker 3: of life dreams, commonly involving reunions with deceased loved ones,
- 4:26Speaker 3: or symbolic transition imagery like bright lights and doorways. Researchers
- 4:31Speaker 3: say that these experiences may help patients cope. Forecast for
- 4:35Speaker 3: today partly cloudy skies with highs near fifty five right

- 4:43Speaker 2: the top of the hour. When you wake up with
- 4:45Speaker 2: ninety seven point one watch FM, we're Toby and Chilly
- 4:47Speaker 2: in the morning. And next we want to see how
- 4:49Speaker 2: you're doing your morning mindset a quote that we hope
- 4:52Speaker 2: might inspire you to take on this new day and
- 4:55Speaker 2: this new week, and we'll share that with you. Coming
- 4:59Speaker 2: up ninety seven point Oneatch FM, Toby and Chilly in
- 5:03Speaker 2: the morning. And it's time now for us to pause

- 5:09Speaker 2: something with you that we hope might help you get
- 5:12Speaker 2: through today in a brand new week.
- 5:14Speaker 3: And it's our morning mindset where we share a quote
- 5:16Speaker 3: with you for you to think about as you take
- 5:18Speaker 3: on a new day.
- 5:19Speaker 2: The great Frank Ocean says, work hard and silence, let's
- 5:23Speaker 2: success make the noise. Frank Ocean, work hard and silence,
- 5:28Speaker 2: let the success. Let success make the noise. You know,
- 5:32Speaker 2: it's interesting. The loudest proof of progress is always results,
- 5:37Speaker 2: or I think, if you wanted to add something to that,
- 5:40Speaker 2: it's what other people are saying about the things you're
- 5:43Speaker 2: pulling off. You don't have to pound your chest. It
- 5:46Speaker 2: took me a long time in my life to learn that.
- 5:49Speaker 2: You know that you don't have to pound your chest.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Other people will do that for you, and that means
- 5:53Speaker 2: more than I think anything that you can say. So
- 5:57Speaker 2: keep that in mind. From Frank Ocean, all right, work
- 6:00Speaker 2: hard in silence. Let's success. Make the noise. Good morning
- 6:04Speaker 2: mindset four this Monday. If you need it again, find
- 6:06Speaker 2: it at Toby at Chili page, WATCHFM dot com. You
- 6:09Speaker 2: can also get it on our Insta and our Facebook.
- 6:13Speaker 2: It should be there. Feel free to share it with
- 6:15Speaker 2: someone who might need it, and stay with us because
- 6:17Speaker 2: coming up next is Tobya Chilli in the Morning continues
- 6:20Speaker 2: to roll through this Monday.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Well, a little medical mystery hit our household. Oh my
- 6:24Speaker 3: husband ended up in the er on Friday after the show.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Lord Lord, Lord Lord.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Still don't know exactly what happened, but we'll share what
- 6:33Speaker 3: we've learned coming up in just a few minutes.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Is there a doctor in the house, Toby at Chili
- 6:38Speaker 2: in the morning, It is ninety seven point one watch FM.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Let's go back back to Friday after the show.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Yes, my husband ended up in the er. So every
- 6:47Speaker 3: day after the show I give him a call to
- 6:49Speaker 3: see how the morning went with our son, and I
- 6:51Speaker 3: could tell from his voice that something wasn't right. And basically,
- 6:54Speaker 3: my husband Don woke up Friday morning and he had
- 6:57Speaker 3: trouble with his balance, so he felt like on steady
- 7:01Speaker 3: on his feet. And I immediately was like, oh, it
- 7:03Speaker 3: must be vertigo because that happens to me. But there
- 7:06Speaker 3: was no dizziness, no nausea, none of that. And when
- 7:10Speaker 3: you get to our ah, Toby, you don't really risk it.
- 7:13Speaker 4: You kinda make sure that all things check out.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Yeah, you're unsteady on your feet and you're not having
- 7:19Speaker 2: vertigo type issues. There could be something else going on.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Did he bump his head?
- 7:22Speaker 4: Nope, did not bump his head.
- 7:24Speaker 2: From experience on that, I know, and.
- 7:25Speaker 4: I thought about you.
- 7:26Speaker 3: So we went to the emergency room and they ran
- 7:30Speaker 3: a bunch of tests, blood work, all that stuff came
- 7:32Speaker 3: back fine. They did a cat scan that came back fine,
- 7:35Speaker 3: but there was one thing they had to do, which
- 7:37Speaker 3: is an MRI, and they're thinking at that time was look,
- 7:40Speaker 3: he may have had a mini stroke, right, he's in
- 7:42Speaker 3: his mid fifties, and the problem did resolve itself after
- 7:46Speaker 3: a few hours he was okay again. But only the
- 7:50Speaker 3: MRI would have shown something like that. But guess what,
- 7:52Speaker 3: he had to be clean admitted into the hospital for
- 7:55Speaker 3: that test because the line is pretty long, and it
- 7:59Speaker 3: came back fine, So good news. None of those major
- 8:02Speaker 3: scary things are going on. But they're still not sure
- 8:06Speaker 3: what that episode was.
- 8:08Speaker 2: To me, that's scary when you don't have answers and
- 8:10Speaker 2: medicine doesn't seem to know what's going on. It's like, okay,
- 8:13Speaker 2: well what do I do if this happens again? And
- 8:15Speaker 2: to go back to the er and you just don't
- 8:19Speaker 2: sort of feel some sort of way it's to your
- 8:21Speaker 2: balance unless maybe you got up quickly. I don't know.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I'm not a doctor, but I do know this, uh huh.
- 8:27Speaker 2: When your head is screwed up, ignorance is not blessed
- 8:30Speaker 2: when it comes to the cranium.
- 8:31Speaker 3: But I'm gonna give him credit, just like I've given
- 8:33Speaker 3: you credit. And I think men especially deserve this credit.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Oftentimes you guys are too proud to go to a
- 8:38Speaker 3: doctor to deal with any issues. I'm really proud of
- 8:42Speaker 3: him for saying something to me. I'm proud of him
- 8:43Speaker 3: for going to the hospital. Let this be a PSA
- 8:46Speaker 3: to everybody. If you don't feel right, go to the hospital.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Worst case scenario, they'll admit to you. Best case scenario,
- 8:53Speaker 2: you won't have to eat any of that hospital food.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the Morning, it's ninety seven point one.

- 9:14Speaker 2: DMV a better place, once student at a time. It's

- 9:27Speaker 3: still time to donate to a classroom project and that
- 9:30Speaker 3: donation will be matched by donors Choose.
- 9:32Speaker 2: So tell us who you would nominate. Now tell US
- 9:35Speaker 2: about that project. WASHFM dot com slash teacher.

- 12:15Speaker 2: which owns the Home Shopping network U. We'll fill you
- 12:20Speaker 2: in on all of this because if you stay up
- 12:22Speaker 2: late and you do some shopping on QVC or HSN,
- 12:25Speaker 2: this could impact your life. And we'll also have a
- 12:30Speaker 2: question for you about something we need to know when
- 12:33Speaker 2: it comes to shopping at QVC. Hang on for that.
- 12:36Speaker 2: It's next Toby at Chili in the Morning. It is
- 12:39Speaker 2: ninety seven point one WASHFM. You know, Michael Jackson's biopic
- 12:43Speaker 2: is coming out starring Jaafar Jackson as Michael, so they're
- 12:46Speaker 2: keeping it all in the family. It's in theaters on
- 12:48Speaker 2: April twenty fourth. Should get your tickets right now. This
- 12:52Speaker 2: is a melancholy sort of a thing, Chili. I don't
- 12:54Speaker 2: know how I feel about this. If you're a fan
- 12:56Speaker 2: of QVC or HSN, you need to know that QBC
- 12:59Speaker 2: is started the process of filing for Chapter eleven bankruptcy.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Oh yes, and I mean that must mean a home
- 13:06Speaker 2: shopping networks not far behind since QVC and hs center
- 13:09Speaker 2: one company.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Oh boy, I'm kind of surprised it took this long
- 13:14Speaker 3: for them to be in trouble because the online retailers
- 13:18Speaker 3: have really taken over and taken the wind out of
- 13:22Speaker 3: the sails of the qvcs of the world.
- 13:25Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying.
- 13:26Speaker 2: You know, Chile, they made it so easy to shop
- 13:29Speaker 2: on QVC and hscent.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Wait a minute, I've never ever purchased anything on there,
- 13:35Speaker 3: even though they were the rage back in the day.
- 13:38Speaker 3: And from that comment and your melancholy feeling, you gotta
- 13:41Speaker 3: tell me, what is it that you've.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Purchased coins, bullion, collectible coins, different kind of silver things
- 13:49Speaker 2: and camera gear?
- 13:50Speaker 4: Was this because of insomnia when you couldn't sleep? And yes,
- 13:53Speaker 4: nothing else?
- 13:53Speaker 2: Actually, back when I was doing afternoons and I would
- 13:56Speaker 2: stay up wicked late just because Yeah, how they suck
- 14:00Speaker 2: you in. We certainly do, much like people who shop
- 14:03Speaker 2: on Amazon before they fall asleep. It's what QVC and
- 14:07Speaker 2: HSN did. They just did it first.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Yes, like Facebook ads suck me and QBC sucked a
- 14:12Speaker 3: lot of people it as did ahsn.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Yes, I'm very very sad about this melancholic Hey.
- 14:18Speaker 3: You know what, Maybe they'll just rebrand and still stick
- 14:20Speaker 3: around you.
- 14:21Speaker 2: You know, and then the online stuff is where everything
- 14:24Speaker 2: is now, that's all the rage. Maybe they'll just become
- 14:26Speaker 2: an online sort of a gimmick. I don't know. But
- 14:28Speaker 2: if you ever bought anything funny, crazy expensive, you know
- 14:31Speaker 2: you up late one night you said, where's QVC, where's HSCENT?
- 14:35Speaker 2: Well I think I want that.
- 14:36Speaker 4: What was the most ridiculous purchase you made?
- 14:38Speaker 2: Did you buy an engagement ring that happened to be
- 14:41Speaker 2: made out of lab grown diamonds? Because they're really big
- 14:44Speaker 2: on that. Right now, call us at eight sixty six
- 14:46Speaker 2: nine two seven forty three sixty one, or tap the
- 14:49Speaker 2: talk back microphone if you're signed in listening on your
- 14:51Speaker 2: iHeart app. Tell us all about what you bought from
- 14:54Speaker 2: QVC or HSN and we'll get into it next. Oh ay, chili,
- 14:57Speaker 2: I just remember there's something else I bought from HSN
- 15:01Speaker 2: or actually this was QVC. I got the Shakill O'Neil airfire.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Remember when I had the shak Fu airfire. Yeah, it broke.
- 15:10Speaker 2: I had to go and throw it in the trash
- 15:11Speaker 2: eight sixty six nineteen seven three sixty When I was
- 15:14Speaker 2: so bummed. Okay, so QVCS started planning for chapter eleven bankruptcy.
- 15:20Speaker 3: And we're asking folks, what's the most ridiculous thing you
- 15:23Speaker 3: are someone you know has purchased from either QBC or HSENT.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Good morning in Tyson's, Rick, what did you buy?
- 15:30Speaker 6: So, we got what's called a topsy turvy.
- 15:32Speaker 7: They were really famous in the early and mid two
- 15:35Speaker 7: thousand where you plant seeds in them and they grow
- 15:38Speaker 7: upside down and scientifically it's supposed to draw more nutrients
- 15:41Speaker 7: from the soil into the roof by gravity.
- 15:43Speaker 4: I remember that and did it work out?
- 15:46Speaker 7: Well, that's partly true. They did seem to grow a.
- 15:48Speaker 6: Little bit better, but the weight of the plant being
- 15:50Speaker 6: upside down pulls its roof right out of the soil,
- 15:54Speaker 6: and from being in direct sunlight for so long makes
- 15:56Speaker 6: them extremely brittle, so if you touch them they will
- 15:59Speaker 6: literally start to decay.
- 16:00Speaker 4: It turned your garden topsy turvy sounds like right?
- 16:04Speaker 2: Thank you, Rick, Now, Cassie, good morning and thanks for listening.
- 16:07Speaker 2: In Poulsville, what'd you buy?
- 16:10Speaker 4: Uh my mom?
- 16:12Speaker 7: A backscratcher that was in the shape of a dog.
- 16:17Speaker 2: A backscratching dog.
- 16:19Speaker 4: Can you describe what it looked?
- 16:21Speaker 5: Like the handle.
- 16:22Speaker 4: Part had a dog head attached to it, and then
- 16:24Speaker 4: the hand part was shaped like a paw.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Well, you know, because it was a dog headed backscratcher
- 16:30Speaker 2: with a dog's paw.
- 16:32Speaker 3: What exactly did you say when you saw what she
- 16:34Speaker 3: had purchased?
- 16:35Speaker 6: Why would you order that?
- 16:36Speaker 5: And she's like, because I saw him in it looks
- 16:39Speaker 5: like it would be a good backscratcher.
- 16:41Speaker 2: I'm like, no, But in your mom's defence, you didn't
- 16:44Speaker 2: try it, did you. Okay, you're entitled to your opinion
- 16:47Speaker 2: of the dog headed backscratcher that mom got On QVC
- 16:51Speaker 2: or HSN Right, Dob and Chilly in the morning, it
- 16:54Speaker 2: is ninety seven point one wash FM. Stay with us
- 16:57Speaker 2: because we've got the news on the way in just minutes.
