- 0:13Hello you guys, and welcome back to another episode of the Hawtgrel Energy Podcast.
- 0:17I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is your weekly reminder that it's
- 0:20a new day, a new week, a new mindset, and another day
- 0:23if you to become the hawtgrel energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
- 0:27Happy Tuesday. We are so due for a girl Chat episode. I
- 0:31feel like I haven't done one of these in so long, Like I literally
- 0:34don't remember the last time I recorded an episode like this. But essentially,
- 0:38what I love to do is I love to just like talk about topics that
- 0:41have been on my mind lately or just things that I've been doing these past
- 0:46few weeks that you know, have really helped me going into the new year.
- 0:52I feel like every time we enter a new year, I always feel
- 0:55like January is a month where everybody's just trying to better themselves, right,
- 0:59like kind of become an entirely new person. Like we don't need to do
- 1:02the whole new year, new me. It's more like new year, better
- 1:06me, right, Like there's always things we can improve on as a human.
- 1:11Nobody's perfect, right, so there's always little things that people can do
- 1:14to better themselves, and I feel like twenty twenty four is the year where
- 1:17I'm really just trying to work on myself. I'm really just trying to improve
- 1:21on, you know, some things that I personally think could be bad habits
- 1:25or things that I'm really just trying to prioritize this year and just be better
- 1:29at you know what I mean. I feel like everybody is in that era
- 1:32right now. So I look back at myself back in twenty twenty three January.
- 1:38I literally had the worst January last year. Like I don't know why.
- 1:41It was so bad, Like I was seeing a therapist. It was
- 1:45just really really bad seasonal depression. And I've opened up about that and how
- 1:48I feel going into the winter season. But there's been something really different this
- 1:53January. I feel like I've had such a better mindset and so much energy,
- 1:59and I try I truly believe that. I don't know, I feel
- 2:01like something just has been different this year versus last year. Like I can
- 2:07honestly say like I am not struggling this month, Like I feel like I've
- 2:12had a really really good month mentally. I've really really stuck to my routine.
- 2:15I've just you know, I felt like I've been changing up my content
- 2:20a lot too, on like TikTok, just like talking more, you know
- 2:23what I mean. Like, I feel like I was so lost last January
- 2:28because I think I not like I wasn't loving what I was doing. Like
- 2:30I had the podcast, I had my job, and obviously I love my
- 2:34job, but I feel like I was putting out content that I honestly didn't
- 2:38want to post, if that makes sense. And obviously, when you post
- 2:42content just to please other people, but it's not pleasing yourself, it's not
- 2:46the best feeling, you know what I mean. So I feel like if
- 2:49I look back at myself last month, I think I was forcing content out
- 2:52that I truly didn't love doing and it didn't truly make me happy. And
- 2:55I think, obviously you need to love what you do, and if you
- 2:58don't love what you do, like that's obviously not not a good situation.
- 3:01But I don't know. I'm just trying to think back and I'm trying to
- 3:04reflect, like what did I do last January that was so bad for my
- 3:07mental health? And what have I done this year? I think one thing
- 3:10that I've really improved on last year going into this year was keeping up with
- 3:15my vitamins and actually being consistent with just taking my greens for an example,
- 3:20I feel like my energy levels have been really really good, and I think
- 3:22that could play a huge impact, specifically when it comes to the winter season.
- 3:25I feel like if you don't have good energy levels, obviously that could
- 3:29get to your head and you could feel tired all the time, and obviously
- 3:32that can lead to yeah, just like winter blues and just not feeling the
- 3:38most energetic and fun self that you usually are. So I don't know,
- 3:42I'm just feeling really really good going into twenty twenty four already. I feel
- 3:46like last January it was like a really really hard time and I literally don't
- 3:50know why, to be honest, Like I feel like that was so long
- 3:52ago. Obviously it was a year ago, and I feel like I can't
- 3:54remember. But feeling really really good going into January so far, and I'm
- 3:59really really happy about it. In this Girl Chat episode, I really wanted
- 4:01to focus on things that I'm doing in my morning routine, like really just
- 4:05describe everything in detail as to what I do or what I strive to do
- 4:11every single morning, as well as how to shift your mindset, So how
- 4:14can we shift our negative mindset into a positive one. Like I said,
- 4:17going into a winter season, if you're currently you know, from Canada or
- 4:23the States, and you're dealing with the winter blues, like these are some
- 4:25things that could help you out to really shift your mindset and just like really
- 4:30try and stay positive throughout, you know, the difficult times. I feel
- 4:32like the colder seasons are always hard, and how are we gonna make it
- 4:36better? How are we going to actually have a positive mindset these next few
- 4:41months. Before we even get into this episode, I really want to talk
- 4:43about what I've seen on my TikTok lately. I don't know if you guys
- 4:45have seen the Clean Girl is Out and Mob Wife is in. I love
- 4:50the Mob Wife era, not gonna lie, like I think it's really really
- 4:54chic. I love the fur coats, I love the Mob Wife like make
- 4:57up aesthetic all that, but let's be clean Girl is never out. Like
- 5:00I still love the clean Girl aesthetic. I just got my nails down the
- 5:05other day and I just did the bubble bath like go to neutral nail color,
- 5:12and I'm like, I really hope the clean Girl nail aesthetic never goes
- 5:15out of style, Like Let's be honest, there's no better feeling than getting
- 5:17a neutral nail color on your nails, just feeling so put together. Like
- 5:23I have not done a neutral nail since the summer, like I was experimenting
- 5:27for like the past six months, like I was doing the cherry red for
- 5:30fall, I was doing like red tip French nails for Christmas, like I
- 5:33totally was doing different nail colors, which I love, like I love changing
- 5:38it up, but I haven't done my classic bubble bath nails since August.
- 5:43So it felt so good just to have this like fresh set on my nails.
- 5:48And I'm like, this better never go at a style, Like I
- 5:50don't care who says it clean Girl nail aesthetic will never leave. This is
- 5:56my holy graal nail color. Like I will always resort back to bubble Bath
- 6:00like no matter what. It's just like the perfect neutral nail colors. So
- 6:03anyways, I just wanted to highlight that because I feel like I've seen the
- 6:05whole clean Girl is out. You know, mob wipe is in all over
- 6:09TikTok, and I'm like, hey, depends on the situation, but anyways,
- 6:13let's talk about morning routines. If you're the kind of person that doesn't
- 6:15have any kind of routine into their current lifestyle. I highly, highly,
- 6:21highly recommend building a routine for yourself, whether it's like a little step by
- 6:26step routine or a checklist, whatever helps you out to remember to do things
- 6:30in the morning or night. I truly think this is something that everybody should
- 6:33be having. I just find it's a great way to set your day up
- 6:39for success, whether it's in the morning, as I said, or maybe
- 6:42doing things at night. That way, when you wake up in the morning,
- 6:45everything's ready to go. You feel prepped to take on the day.
- 6:47So we're gonna talk about morning. I feel like I could definitely give a
- 6:50more in depth night routine as well in terms of what I do at night,
- 6:56but we're going to do morning routine for today. So if I were
- 6:59to describe my perfect morning, like, this is not something I do every
- 7:03single morning, but like if I were to describe, okay, this is
- 7:06what I hope to do every single day, this would be it. First
- 7:11off, wake up early, So personally for me, I like to wake
- 7:15up at six am, Like I love waking up early, not in that
- 7:18exact moment, like I really regret it when I have my alarm going off
- 7:21at five poin fifty five in the morning. I'm like, why am I
- 7:25doing this? I'm exhausted, But I usually have the motivation to get out
- 7:30of bed because I book a workout class. If you're the kind of person
- 7:33that has such a hard time getting out of bed, there is nothing more
- 7:36motivating than pushing your butt out of bed and going to a workout class.
- 7:41I'm telling you right now, you will feel so good after that workout class
- 7:45and feel so proud of yourself for actually getting out of bed and actually pushing
- 7:48yourself to go to the class. So that is the key motivation that I
- 7:51can honestly recommend when it comes to waking up early, is book a class
- 7:56because you're not gonna want to lose your money from that class. You're not
- 7:59gonna want to just fall up sep. You're gonna be like, Okay,
- 8:00well, I got to get my clothes on, I got to get my
- 8:03water bottle prepped. I got to obviously drive to the class, like everything
- 8:05you have to do. The step by step process of getting out of the
- 8:07house is honestly so essential. So for me waking up at six am,
- 8:13you know, waking up putting on my workout set immediately. I find laying
- 8:18out my workout clothes the night before is super helpful as well. That way
- 8:20I know what I'm wearing. I don't need to stress out about what I'm
- 8:24going to wear for the workout class. I have it all laid out,
- 8:26and then I always love to do an ice roll in my face just to
- 8:28wake me up, because let's be honest, it's never easy waking up really
- 8:33early in the morning. So putting like either cold water in my face or
- 8:37doing an ice roll, I feel like that just wakes me up and then
- 8:39I head off to my workout class. I've been trying to get into pilates.
- 8:43I do pilotates here at the house, but if I want to wake
- 8:46up early and actually push myself out the door, I have to leave the
- 8:48house. Like I can't wake up at six am and do a workout here.
- 8:52It just will not work out for me. I'll just sit in my
- 8:54bed knowing that I don't have like a strict timeframe of, you know,
- 8:58getting to a place right. The motivation of getting my butt out of bed
- 9:01at an early time is because I need to be at my workout class by
- 9:05a specific time right, So I'm actually going to a pilate studio in Ottawa.
- 9:09It's called Playground. I tried it out this summer and I loved it.
- 9:11I just never kept up a routine with it, just because it's not
- 9:16very close to my place, and obviously the convenience of having something super close,
- 9:20specifically with the early morning routine is obviously essential. So I have spin
- 9:24Coat super close to my place. It's like a five minute drive. Not
- 9:28even where is a plate studio, It's about a thirty minute drive so,
- 9:31and parking is not the easiest to find in this area. So I'm hoping
- 9:37to make it maybe like a Friday or Saturday thing. I also really want
- 9:39to try and do it with a friend, whether it's my sister or somebody
- 9:43else. I always find going to workout classes with friends has been very very
- 9:46helpful as well. So if you know someone that loves to wake up early
- 9:50and goes to workout classes, maybe ask if you could join them. For
- 9:52example, my best friend Katie, I introduced her to spin Coat in the
- 9:56beginning of the year and she absolutely loves it and she goes to all the
- 10:00seven am classes now, so she always texts me saying, hey, these
- 10:03are the classes I booked this week, like, let me know what day
- 10:05you can come, And I'm actually going to the seven am spinco class with
- 10:09her tomorrow. So it just kind of shows that going with friends could also
- 10:13be a great way to motivate yourself to get out of bed and just do
- 10:16what. Workout class with a friend is always fun and just catching up and
- 10:18all that. So yeah, that's something I'm trying to do with my sister
- 10:22hopefully this year. And then yeah, just keeping up my spin CooA classes
- 10:26in the early mornings and then after I do my workout class, I love
- 10:30to have a post workout smoothie. This has been my go to these past
- 10:33few weeks. I really really enjoy having some protein powder just obviously it's great
- 10:39for muscle recovery and just getting your protein intake after a workout. So I've
- 10:43been using the protein powder by Ritual. It's actually so good, guys.
- 10:48It's a vanilla based protein powder. It's actually dairy free, so if you
- 10:50are vegan or dairy sensitive, this is really great protein powder. It actually
- 10:54tastes really good and it blends really really well in smoothies. In my current
- 11:00go to green smoothie that I've been having in the morning is spinach, mango,
- 11:05hempseeds, greek yogurt. I currently use a vanilla cinnamon, greek yogurt,
- 11:11coconut water, and then my protein powder and it's actually really really good.
- 11:15Guys, try it out, let me know what we think. You
- 11:16can also add banana if you want to make it a bit sweeter. Banana
- 11:18mango spinach so good. And for people who've never had spinach in their protein
- 11:24smoothies, you cannot taste the spinach. I'm telling you right now, you
- 11:28will not taste it. And it's just good to get those extra benefits in.
- 11:31And then I have my greens in my breakfast. You guys know,
- 11:33my favorite greens is athletic greens, so many benefits to it. I'm not
- 11:37going to go into it just because I talk about it so much, but
- 11:39one breakfast that I've been obsessed with lately is yogurt bowls. I'm going to
- 11:45tell you something, Okay, I have been struggling to change up my breakfast
- 11:48for like the past six months. I was a huge oatmeal girl. Like
- 11:50I had oatmeal not stop every single morning for like a year, not even
- 11:54over exaggerating, and then I want to say, like in September of twenty
- 12:00twenty three, so literally like six months ago. I don't know what happened,
- 12:03but I became not obsessed with that anymore. I'm like, Okay,
- 12:07I need to change it up. I need to get more into like savory
- 12:09breakfasts. I probably mentioned it here on the podcast that I was trying to
- 12:11change up my breakfasts. And you know, I love avocado toast and all
- 12:16that, and I love putting egg on it. But I don't know,
- 12:18I was just not loving it for every single day because I love sweet breakfasts
- 12:24like I just I crave sweet. I don't crave savory in the morning.
- 12:28Do I believe that you're either a sweet person or a savory person when it
- 12:31comes to breakfast in the morning, Like you're not both. Well, you
- 12:35can be both, I guess, But for me, I usually crave something
- 12:37sweet. So lately I've been having yogurt bowls. I've been putting this cinnamon
- 12:43vanilla yogurt with strawberries, blueberries, granola, cocoa nibs and honey and a
- 12:50bit of almond butter as well, And it's been my current obsession I finally
- 12:54found something that I really like. I feel like I've been trying so many
- 12:56different breakfasts lately and they're just not hitting. But this one is definitely hitting.
- 13:00So this is something that I've been having for breakfast. And then after
- 13:03I'll usually do a shower or an everything shower, or a no shower at
- 13:07all if it's not needed, do my skincare, which is like my daily
- 13:13necessity. I love doing my skincare so much. If you do not have
- 13:16a skincare routine in your routine, you really really need to try and you
- 13:22know, learn from you know, social media or influencers or anything like that,
- 13:26Like gain some insight on what products you should be using for your face.
- 13:30Obviously the products that I use may not work for you, but do
- 13:33your own research right, Like figure out what kind of skin type do you
- 13:35have? Do you have oily skin, do you have dry skin? Look
- 13:37into a toner, look into a cleanser, look into you know, a
- 13:41moist dizer. I cream lip bomb, Like you will feel so good and
- 13:45see such great results when you're actually consistent with a skincare routine. It's truly
- 13:48been the biggest game changer in my face and just how I feel, so
- 13:54that my makeup routine. I actually filmed this for TikTok not long ago,
- 14:00so if you want to see that video, I just showed how I did,
- 14:03like my everyday bronze look, just to like, you know, boost
- 14:05my confidence. I feel like when you do makeup every single day, it
- 14:09just you know, just boost your confidence a bit. You feel good going
- 14:11into the day, you feel put together. So it's a really quick and
- 14:15easy one. No foundation, just concealer and bronzer and then other little makeup
- 14:20products that I use, and then putting on a cute outfit. Like there's
- 14:24no better feeling than putting on a matching set. That's always the best feeling.
- 14:28I feel so put together when I have a matching set on. But
- 14:31yeah, just actually like putting the effort in yourself is so important, and
- 14:35I truly believe that makes a huge difference in your mindset as well. When
- 14:39you actually get ready for yourself and put yourself together, you will totally see
- 14:43your mindset change just from being and feeling so much better. And then lastly,
- 14:50I'll have a coffee two hours later from my breakfast. And some people
- 14:54find that so weird. Some people are like, oh my god, you
- 14:56have your coffee so late, Like why do you do that? I I
- 15:00feel like having a coffee later in the day, Like I'm talking like maybe
- 15:03like eleven or ten o'clock, Like I'm not having it past noon, because
- 15:07obviously, if I had a pass noon, I honestly think I wouldn't sleep
- 15:09at night, just because caffeine really affects me. If I'm gonna have anything
- 15:13afternoon, like it would be a decaf. But I truly feel like I
- 15:18feel so good like having my food digested in my body before having a coffee.
- 15:22And I've mentioned on the podcast in the past, but having coffee with
- 15:26no food just really spikes my anxiety levels, Like my anxiety is so bad
- 15:30when I have coffee on an empty stomach, Like it just doesn't sit well
- 15:33for me. And I truly feel like, if you're having coffee as soon
- 15:37as you wake up, you really need to have a snack or something before
- 15:39because if you notice that your anxiety is really bad, or you know,
- 15:43just something triggers in your body that you don't like the feeling of. I
- 15:46truly believe that it's probably from drinking coffee too early before you have your food
- 15:52so really try and look into your routine and see if you can push your
- 15:56coffee to a later time. Maybe it's right after breakfast, not too out,
- 16:00But for me, I just have a coffee later in the day.
- 16:02I also just like to have just my coffee and nothing else, Like I
- 16:06love the taste of my at home coffee so much that I really don't want
- 16:08to mix the taste with like my breakfast. I'd rather just be my coffee,
- 16:12if that makes sense. But anyways, I usually I have my coffee
- 16:15and I'll just start doing my journaling and planning for the day and then I
- 16:19start work. So that's kind of like my ideal morning routine and what I
- 16:23strive to do every single day because that's truly what makes me feel good and
- 16:27I feel like I go in with a really good mindset throughout the day.
- 16:32I feel like I have my shit together basically, And yeah, it's just
- 16:36something that I start to do every single day. So now let's talk about
- 16:38shifting our mindset. So, as I said, going into the winter season
- 16:42is difficult, right, Like, I get it. I feel you.
- 16:47Right now, I am craving a beach vacation, Like all I want is
- 16:51the sun on my face. I want to be by the ocean and just
- 16:55chill on the beach. But you know, you got to push through the
- 16:59winter blues. You know, we're already almost done January, so only a
- 17:02few more months to go. We will get through it together, don't worry.
- 17:06But there is definitely some things that we can do and just things we
- 17:08can do ourselves to really help motivate ourselves to just have a better mindset and
- 17:15just feel a bit more positive. And I think one thing that I really
- 17:18really love to do is finding a new self care activity or hobby. Like
- 17:22think is something that you can do in your spare time that you would look
- 17:26forward to, whether it's reading a book or coloring or painting or drawing.
- 17:32Maybe you don't read that much and you want to start reading more, or
- 17:34maybe you want to do a hobby that involves, you know, being active,
- 17:38whether it's joining a soccer team or a hockey team, anything like that.
- 17:41Like something that you can do in your spare time that will allow you
- 17:45to look forward to it is really really important and it also just kind of
- 17:48gives you a distraction. And what I love about joining sports specifically is that
- 17:53you're in that social environment, and there's either people who love to be in
- 17:57social environments or you don't. I personally thrive when I'm in a social setting,
- 18:03Like I love talking. I love talking to people. Like Zach comes
- 18:07home from his workday and I'm like, oh my god, how are you.
- 18:08How is your day? Like I'm ready to chat up a store and
- 18:11He's like, holy shit, you need to talk to people. And I'm
- 18:14like, I know, I thrive in social environment. So for me,
- 18:17taking on soccer was actually a really really good thing for my mental health.
- 18:19I think because I'm seeing people, I'm talking with people, I'm still being
- 18:23active. I'm getting back into an activity that you know, I haven't done
- 18:26in years, So it's been nice to get back into that. Right.
- 18:30So that's something that I did for myself and it's really really helped me,
- 18:34to be honest, But it could be as simple as as I said,
- 18:38just getting into reading, paining or drawing. I'm not gonna lie like I've
- 18:42thought about getting to painting so many times, and I suck at painting,
- 18:47like I literally suck. But if it makes you happy and it gives you
- 18:51something to do, even a puzzle, like if you love to do puzzles.
- 18:55Buy yourself a puzzle, put it on your dining room table, and
- 18:57you know, take the next few days to do it. But my sister
- 19:00loves to do that, like she has done so many puzzles and it's been
- 19:03such a great distraction and just something to get away from, you know,
- 19:07technology and just off her phone and all that. So I don't know,
- 19:11just find a little self care activity that you could do that really helps you,
- 19:14just to distract yourself and just as I said, just having something to
- 19:18look forward to. Another great thing to help your mindset is getting out of
- 19:21the house. You have no idea how good it feels just to step outside,
- 19:26even if it is just for ten to fifteen minutes. I know it's
- 19:29cold when I'm walking Freddy. Sometimes I'm literally freezing my ass off, but
- 19:33I do it for my mental health and for my dog obviously because he needs
- 19:36a walk. But every time I do that, like fifteen to twenty minute
- 19:40walk every single day, I feel so much better and I feel like I
- 19:42almost like need that break where I'm just stepping outside, I'm enjoying the fresh
- 19:47air. So going on walks is so important. But it's also like you
- 19:51know, going to run errands and just get out of the house. Go
- 19:53to your grocery store, go get your necessities that you need every single week.
- 19:57Like, doing those little errands will make you f feel so good.
- 20:00So if you feel like you've been in a slump or a funk, and
- 20:03you feel like you've been having a hard time getting out of that, push
- 20:04yourself to go outside or honestly push yourself to go get in your car,
- 20:08go to your favorite coffee shop or to your favorite coffee and maybe a treat.
- 20:12Just do little things like that. Maybe it's going, you know,
- 20:15shopping and get a little retail therapy out, or maybe it's going to buy
- 20:19a book for yourself going to the bookstore, like, just do little things
- 20:22that make you feel good. So push yourself out of the house. You
- 20:26need to push yourself out of the house if you're truly feeling like you're just
- 20:30in a funk or just not feeling yourself. I truly believe that getting out
- 20:33of the house makes you feel so so much better. So that's definitely something
- 20:37that I would recommend. Just get out of the house. You'll feel so
- 20:41much better. I already said this, but getting ready every single day truly
- 20:44makes me feel so much better putting on a cue outfit. It changes your
- 20:48entire mood whenever you're feeling low or anything like that. It makes you feel
- 20:52so much more put together. And then another thing that I really think helps
- 20:56boost your mindset is trying something new. It's something that you can look forward
- 21:00to each week. So one thing for me at night that I've been including
- 21:04into my night routine currently is the Sleepy Girl mocktail. If you guys don't
- 21:08know what that is, you guys can go on my Instagram. But basically,
- 21:11it's this drink that really helps you relax. And I've been having a
- 21:15really hard time falling asleep, which I think I talked about this. I
- 21:18don't know if it was in the last podcast episode of the Night before,
- 21:21and I probably have it maybe three times a week, and my goodness,
- 21:25does it ever relax you. I always have the best sleeps whenever I take
- 21:30it. But that has been something that I've been trying to get into as
- 21:33well as meditation. Form actually has meditations now, so I've tried two of
- 21:38their meditation classes at night. I think they're about five to ten minutes long,
- 21:42and it's been pretty good. I've been trying to like set the mood
- 21:45by like lighting a candle, just really feeling the relax like tone of the
- 21:52room, if that makes sense. So that's something I've also been trying to
- 21:55get into. And then something in the morning that I really, really,
- 21:59really lee want to get into is in Fred's sauna. I have been trying
- 22:03to figure out a sauna situation here at my house. Zach thinks I'm crazy
- 22:08for wanting a large sauna in my basement just because there's nowhere close by for
- 22:12me to go into a sauna. It's just so good for muscle recovery and
- 22:18honestly just for your mental health in general. But there is a brand it's
- 22:22called Higher Dose, and they have a sauna blanket where apparently it's almost like
- 22:26a sleeping bag, but it's a sauna for your body, which I have
- 22:30never heard about until I saw it on TikTok the other day and I'm like,
- 22:34interesting, So we'll see, maybe I'll look into that more. I
- 22:37don't know much information about the blanket, but that was something that I've never
- 22:41seen before, and I'm like, this could be something that I could look
- 22:45into because I really don't want to include a sauna in my basement at least
- 22:48at this house. So yeah, I'm trying to figure out a different alternative.
- 22:51So we'll see. But that's something that I've been really wanting to try
- 22:53to include into my morning routine. Another thing I've really been wanting to get
- 22:57into is running. I haven't gone running since the summer, and I feel
- 23:03like if I actually invested in proper winter gear to go running, I feel
- 23:06like I would actually go running outside, you know what I mean. So
- 23:10I don't know. I'll keep you guys updated on that, but I really
- 23:12do miss running. Another thing I talked about that I was going to get
- 23:15I'm just waiting for my office to be set up because I don't have the
- 23:18space for it right now, is a walking pad. Those walking pads on
- 23:22Amazon. I've been really wanting to invest in one of those. I've talked
- 23:26about it here on the podcast before, but I truly think just walking and
- 23:30getting work done at the same time would make me feel so good, just
- 23:33getting my steps in and all that. So hopefully once my office is done,
- 23:37that will happen. We just ordered our flooring and yeah, I'll make
- 23:41sure to film all that transformation. We're doing. One of our bedrooms upstairs
- 23:45and we're turning it into an office. And yes, I literally have no
- 23:48other bedrooms in my house. It's my glamor room, my office, and
- 23:52me and Zach's bedroom. But the reason why we have no guest bedroom is
- 23:56because we don't have any guests that come here. I've had one guess stay
- 24:00at our house, which was Trenimbrody, and that was for my engagement party
- 24:03and that was it. We've been here for almost two years and I've never
- 24:07had a single guest at my house. So like, why would I have
- 24:10a guest bedroom that's going to collect dust. I'd rather like invest in a
- 24:14space that I can work in for my work, so in office and then
- 24:18the other room being my closet. So I mean that's a bit extra.
- 24:22I probably didn't have to do that, but you know, I work from
- 24:25home, so being able to utilize the space and do it for things that
- 24:29I actually I can get used out of is more important to me than just
- 24:33a guest bedroom that's going to collect dust. Right, So, the last
- 24:34thing I'm going to talk about when it comes to shifting your mindset is when
- 24:40you're feeling super low and you feel like you're just like in a dark space
- 24:44and you really don't know how to let your emotions out. When it comes
- 24:48to those dark times, talk to a friend. If you're feeling down,
- 24:52talk to someone that you're super close with, whether it's your sister, or
- 24:56your boyfriend or fiance or husband, or your mom, where your dad,
- 25:00or maybe if it's to that point where you need to look into therapy,
- 25:03that's okay. Everyone should have a therapist, not even joking. If everybody
- 25:07had the funds to invest in a therapist, like, I would have a
- 25:11therapist all the freaking time if it wasn't so freakin expensive. But I truly
- 25:15find talking to my mom and sister whenever I'm feeling low or down really really
- 25:19helps me out. I feel like venting and letting my feelings out feels so
- 25:22much better. If you're the kind of person that you know doesn't know how
- 25:26to let your emotions out, maybe it's good to get a journal and write
- 25:30down how you're feeling in that exact moment, to let your feelings out,
- 25:33like how how am I feeling in this current moment? Like, write everything
- 25:37out that you're feeling. It might feel so good just to let it out
- 25:40on a piece of paper. If you're the kind of person that doesn't like
- 25:41to open up to family members or friends, just find ways to talk out
- 25:47your feelings because it will feel so much better to just let it out.
- 25:49You don't want to hold in emotions like that, You really just need to
- 25:53let it out and talk to someone. Another thing I find that's really really
- 25:56helpful is I always send voice note to my sister, so I'll like,
- 26:00I'll hold it and I'll like talk for three minutes and I'll send her the
- 26:03voice note just on how I'm feeling, and just like, I want to
- 26:07get it out right because letting it out will make you feel so good,
- 26:10and I feel like it it brings you back to that positive mindset versus the
- 26:14negativity because you let it out, you didn't hold it in right. So
- 26:18just those little things, I feel like really really helps shift your mindset.
- 26:22On another note, when it comes to this Girl Chat episode, I have
- 26:26some updates on the wedding. I'm currently trying to plan my baucherette and I'm
- 26:30so lost on what i want to do for my bacheorette. I've been trying
- 26:36to go on social media trying to find, you know, theme ideas on
- 26:40what I want to do. But if you ever had a bacherette or you've
- 26:42been to any bacherettes, let me know any locations that you recommend on where
- 26:47we should do it. I am thinking Vegas right now, but like I'm
- 26:51also not a Vegas girl. Like I feel like, you know, I
- 26:53don't really enjoy getting blackout drunk and all that, but you know, the
- 26:59Vegas life in the night life is really fun, so we'll see. I
- 27:02also want to find a location that is not too expensive. Like Vegas,
- 27:07you don't really pay much. I feel like they're looking for girls to promote
- 27:11like clubs all the time, so we don't have to pay for anything.
- 27:15I don't know if Miami's like that. I don't know if anyone's been to
- 27:17Miami for bacherettes. Let me know if it's you know, more affordable or
- 27:21if it's more expensive. Anywhere in Canada that you've done bacherettes like I've done.
- 27:26I did Alyssa's batcherette last summer at Prince Edburgh County and it was beautiful
- 27:30and I did love it. I just feel like I don't know. I
- 27:34don't know if I'm a Prince Edward County girl, I don't know if that's
- 27:37the vibe I'm going for, So let me know if you have any ideas
- 27:41or any bacherettes you've done in the past, just some location wise, because
- 27:45I feel like that's the one thing I'm struggling to plan right now. But
- 27:48I know it'll all work out at the end and it'll all be fun.
- 27:51I'm very excited about it. But that's something I'm currently trying to plan with
- 27:55Trend. Actually Trend's helping me out, which is super great. And then
- 27:59what else do we have? We met with our planners last week about florals
- 28:03and actually like planning out what the ceremony is going to look like, what
- 28:07the reception table is going to look like, which is so exciting and so
- 28:11weird that we're already talking about that. I'm feeling kind of scared because I
- 28:15I'm the kind of person where I am indecisive, like I will change my
- 28:18mind. So I'm like, do I wait a bit on this, because
- 28:22you know, this is what I want to do now, but maybe three
- 28:25months from now, I might change my mind. So my planners are kind
- 28:29of aware of that. I said, I'm like, listen, like I
- 28:30don't really like whatever I have to put a deposit on. Now, that's
- 28:33like you need to set this in before, you know, three months prior
- 28:38to the wedding or whatever it is. Like, obviously, I'm going to
- 28:41put money down on whatever I need to put down, but if there's anything
- 28:45that we can wait on until closer to the wedding, I'm going to wait
- 28:48because, as I said, I'm pretty indecisive. Like even buying my wedding
- 28:51dress, I'm like, okay, like I had no choice but to buy,
- 28:53like I was at the CUSP where it's like, okay, you're going
- 28:56to start paying for express shipping if you go past the state for picking your
- 29:00wedding dress. So I'm still very happy with it. I'm also trying to
- 29:03avoid looking at it because I've heard if you look at your wedding dress too
- 29:06many times, then you start looking at other ones, you're gonna almost be
- 29:10upset about your decision. So I'm just trying to avoid looking at it because
- 29:12I'm still in love with it, but I just don't want to keep looking
- 29:15at it. And you know, you know when you look at something for
- 29:18too long, just like an Instagram photo, and you get sick, and
- 29:19tired of it, and you're like, why did I post that? So
- 29:22that's me sometimes, So I'm trying to avoid that with the wedding dress.
- 29:25But yeah, and then I'm also just trying to find some wedding fits for
- 29:30the other stuff going on within the wedding. So we're doing a welcome party,
- 29:33we have the rehearsal dinner, and then we have the wedding day.
- 29:37Obviously, still trying to confirm the honeymoon. I think we are going for
- 29:41Greece. Thank you to everyone that messaged me about their honest opinion about Greece
- 29:48as well as a French riviera. I'm pretty sure Zach and I have decided
- 29:52on Greece just based on your feedback, So thank you to everyone that messaged
- 29:55us. I really really appreciate that. But yeah, so we're gonna have
- 29:59that locked and low, hopefully soon. Outfits for the batchorette, I'm just
- 30:03waiting to confirm the themes and where we're going to do it first before I
- 30:06start buying outfits. But for any bride out there that's currently in their bridal
- 30:10era, Anthropology has such good like bridal outfits. I was so shocked to
- 30:17see how many good dresses and outfits that they had there. So if you're
- 30:21a bride, check out Anthropology. They have a really really good bridle section
- 30:23that was totally new to me that I've never seen before. And they have
- 30:27like really cute like after party dresses or rehearsal outfits whatever it is. But
- 30:33yeah, that was something new that I came across. But that is all
- 30:36I have for wedding updates as of now, but I will keep you guys
- 30:38posted once we make more decisions. I have secured my photographer, videographer,
- 30:45what else, content creator, I'm gonna have someone like film our wedding.
- 30:49That way, I don't have to worry about like posting content. Somebody will
- 30:52do it for me of stories and all that. And then what else.
- 30:59Oh, makeup, That's something I'm currently still working on. I feel like
- 31:02hair and makeup is so hard, Like specifically makeup. I'm so stressed for
- 31:06a makeup artist. I don't know why. I feel like I'm like debating
- 31:08on you know, doing a makeup course and trying to do my own makeup.
- 31:12But that's also like a little stressful. I'm putting a lot of stress
- 31:18on myself to rely on myself doing good makeup. But anyways, I'll keep
- 31:22you guys posted on that. I think I have a makeup artist. I'm
- 31:25in conversation with her. I just have to make sure that she's free on
- 31:26my wedding date. So yeah, I'll keep you guys posted on that.
- 31:30But that's an update on that. And I'm almost at the one year mark
- 31:34of being engaged. How crazy is that? One year of being engaged.
- 31:40It's almost time. I can't believe it. I yeah, I can't believe
- 31:44I've been engaged frolmless a year. That does not feel like a year.
- 31:48But h yeah, we're getting to that point. So yeah, anyways,
- 31:52I love you guys so much. Thank you guys for listening to another episode.
