- 0:00Humanity, for the most part, continues to believe that the
- 0:03material world occupies a primary place in the creation of
- 0:08the universe, and that somehow matter is able to create the
- 0:13encoding and the complex systems that come along with that
- 0:16encoding out of some random mixture of elements.
- 0:21If we review every other aspect of our existence, however, and
- 0:26examine the process of creation, we find that just the opposite
- 0:32occurs. A sculptor envisions a form in
- 0:36the material he is sculpting and then applies his vision, his
- 0:40intelligence, his developed skills, and his vital force to
- 0:46turn the material form into the expression of his vision.
- 0:50Music does not arise automatically out of matter, but
- 0:54it's channeled and created through the mental, emotional,
- 0:58and vital powers of the individual creating the music.
- 1:02Computers do not gain the power to analyze data purely from the
- 1:06physical box being assembled. Rather, a programmer needs to
- 1:11input software that will operate and utilize the capacity built
- 1:16into the box. It is the fixation with the
- 1:20foundation of matter that creates our confusion.
- 1:23In this regard, if we examine the universal manifestation to
- 1:28the extent we can gain insight into it, we invariably find that
- 1:34the more subtle levels, the mental level, the vital level,
- 1:38are the ones that drive the operation and changes within
- 1:42matter. This brings us to the question
- 1:45of how this comes about. And this in turn brings us to an
- 1:49exploration and increasing level of understanding of planes or
- 1:54worlds of existence that are the native home of mental powers and
- 1:58beings or vital powers and beings.
- 2:02And eventually we determine there are yet further planes and
- 2:06beings that precede and are causative of even these mental
- 2:12and vital planes, domains we may call spiritual or super mental,
- 2:18etcetera. Sri Orbindo notes quote this
- 2:24character of the other world's defeats, all our attempts to
- 2:27give the premier importance to our own plane of being and to
- 2:31our own part in the mundane manifestation.
- 2:34We do not create God as a myth of our consciousness, but our
- 2:39instruments for a progressive manifestation of the Divine in
- 2:43the material being. We do not create the Gods, his
- 2:47powers, but rather such divinity as we manifest is the partial
- 2:52reflection and the shaping here of eternal godheads.
- 2:57We do not create the higher planes, but our intermediaries
- 3:01by which they reveal their light, power, beauty, in
- 3:06whatever form and scope can be given to them by nature force on
- 3:10the material plane. It is the pressure of the life
- 3:14world which enables life to evolve and develop here in the
- 3:18forms we already know. It is that increasing pressure
- 3:22which drives it to aspire in us to a greater revelation of
- 3:25itself and will one day deliver the mortal from his subjection
- 3:31to the narrow limitations of his present incompetent and
- 3:35restricting physicality. It is the pressure of the mind
- 3:39world which evolves and develops mind here and helps us to find a
- 3:44leverage for our mental self uplifting and expansion so that
- 3:48we may hope to enlarge continually our self of
- 3:51intelligence and even to break the prison walls of our matter
- 3:56bound physical mentality. It is the pressure of the Super
- 4:00mental and spiritual worlds which is preparing to develop
- 4:04here the manifest power of the Spirit and by it open out being
- 4:10on the physical plane into the freedom and Infinity of the
- 4:14Super conscient Divine. That contact, that pressure can
- 4:20alone liberate from the apparent inconscience which was our
- 4:24starting point, the all conscient God had concealed in
- 4:28US. End Quote Reference Sri
