- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, so this article is from WPBF.com, West Palm Beach.com.
- 0:08Speaker 1: The headline, Queen for a Day, How Ghislaine Maxwell Could
- 0:11Speaker 1: Be Striking a Deal with Prosecutors. This article was authored
- 0:17Speaker 1: by Terry Parker. As Ghislaine Maxwell's first New York court
- 0:22Speaker 1: appearance looms next week, she could be working behind the
- 0:25Speaker 1: scenes to hammer out a plea agreement using a federal
- 0:28Speaker 1: court tool known as Queen for a Day. Now, when
- 0:33Speaker 1: you use this tool called Queen for a Day, that
- 0:38Speaker 1: means you are giving up everything. If you use this
- 0:44Speaker 1: tool and your lawyer uses this tool, you have to
- 0:47Speaker 1: give up every last thing you know during that session.
- 0:53Speaker 2: If not, all of that stuff could be used against
- 0:55Speaker 2: you in court.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Cooperation, cooperation, cooperation. It's not even an issue. Federal criminal
- 1:03Speaker 1: defense attorney Greg Lerman said Maxwell's attorneys are likely urging
- 1:07Speaker 1: her right now. And we've talked about this. 100% Ghislaine
- 1:11Speaker 1: Maxwell's attorneys are trying to get her to talk. They
- 1:15Speaker 1: know that she has a lot of valuable information. And
- 1:18Speaker 1: we all know that as well. The question is, how
- 1:22Speaker 1: much of that valuable information.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Is going to be used.
- 1:27Speaker 2: To get other convictions.
- 1:29Speaker 1: And that's what the prosecutors are likely trying to figure
- 1:31Speaker 1: out right now, what they can use to pursue other
- 1:34Speaker 1: people and what is just junk and garbage. So I'd
- 1:39Speaker 1: be very interested to see what this proffer agreement looks like.
- 1:43Speaker 1: If there ever is one boy, God, I would love
- 1:45Speaker 1: to see that. Lerman said Maxwell could be striking a
- 1:49Speaker 1: deal using what's known as the queen for a day proffer.
- 1:54Speaker 1: And we were just talking about that. It's a, It's
- 1:58Speaker 1: one of those tools that the federal government uses to
- 2:00Speaker 1: entice people with to rat on others in their criminal organization.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Because remember, that's how these RICO cases are made. It's
- 2:08Speaker 1: all about snatching people up that are in the organization
- 2:12Speaker 1: and having them roll over on others and you build
- 2:16Speaker 1: your case that way and it begins to snowball. And
- 2:19Speaker 1: when you have so many people willing to testify, it
- 2:23Speaker 1: becomes a real long, hard road to navigate for the accused.
- 2:30Speaker 1: And that's what could be lining up here against Ghislaine Maxwell, right?
- 2:36Speaker 1: Right now as we speak, there could be other people
- 2:39Speaker 1: who are caught up in this the core four, others
- 2:42Speaker 1: who have knowledge, whatever it may be, and their indictments
- 2:46Speaker 1: are just sealed currently because we know that Ghislaine Maxwell's
- 2:49Speaker 1: indictment was also sealed until the whole thing got rolling.
- 2:53Speaker 1: So there's a lot of stuff going on behind the
- 2:56Speaker 1: scenes right now. Obviously, I don't have an inside line
- 3:01Speaker 1: on knowing exactly what's going on behind the scenes, but
- 3:04Speaker 1: I will tell you this, there is a lot more
- 3:06Speaker 1: happening than just Ghislaine Maxwell being questioned.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Just like it says, you're the queen for the day.
- 3:14Speaker 1: You get to talk about what you know, who you know,
- 3:17Speaker 1: and that information cannot be used against you, said Lerman,
- 3:20Speaker 1: who has no ties to the Maxwell case.
- 3:23Speaker 2: And that's for sure. That's what happens.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Anything you say that day can't be used against you,
- 3:30Speaker 1: but you have to be completely truthful with everything you
- 3:34Speaker 1: have ever done. And it doesn't mean that they're going
- 3:39Speaker 1: to use what you tell them, right? Because again, it
- 3:43Speaker 1: has to be a bigger trophy than Maxwell. They're not
- 3:47Speaker 1: going to give her any sort of leniency if she
- 3:50Speaker 1: is shooting down the pecking order. This is going to
- 3:54Speaker 1: have to be a big time nail, right? A public official,
- 3:58Speaker 1: ex or current, some sort of business mogul. And even then,
- 4:03Speaker 1: that's not enough, I don't think, unless it's a Les Wexner.
- 4:06Speaker 1: But I'm very interested to see how this all plays out.
- 4:11Speaker 1: And we see this a lot in federal cases, folks.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Deals are cut all the time. But in this case, specifically...
- 4:35Speaker 1: I think that Ghislaine Maxwell, while she might get herself
- 4:40Speaker 1: cut a bit of a deal, a bit of leniency
- 4:42Speaker 1: if she can offer something up, there is no way
- 4:46Speaker 1: that she is ever going to get a sweetheart deal
- 4:49Speaker 1: out of this.
- 4:50Speaker 2: She has done too much. She has been involved in
- 4:52Speaker 2: too much.
- 4:53Speaker 1: And I don't think she has the information that's needed
- 4:57Speaker 1: to get somebody big enough to replace her. So I'm
- 5:04Speaker 1: very interested to see what she has, because again, I
- 5:08Speaker 1: could be wrong, right? She might have the goods on somebody,
- 5:11Speaker 1: a Clinton or a Trump or who else?
- 5:14Speaker 2: Who knows who else?
- 5:15Speaker 1: That really brings everything crumbling down around these people's ears.
- 5:20Speaker 1: And if she has that kind of information, then you
- 5:22Speaker 1: can most certainly, most assuredly expect her to be cutting
- 5:26Speaker 1: a deal right now with the prosecutors as we speak.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Prosecutors cannot use the evidence given in the session against
- 5:35Speaker 1: the defendant, but can pursue other co-conspirators based on what
- 5:39Speaker 1: the defendant tells them and can back up with documents
- 5:42Speaker 1: or photos or other corroborating items. This is very interesting
- 5:47Speaker 1: because Ghislaine Maxwell most certainly can punch down the chain, right?
- 5:52Speaker 1: And if she wraps up maybe the all of the
- 5:54Speaker 1: core four and say Jean-Luc Brunel in a bow, maybe
- 5:57Speaker 1: that's enough for her to get some leniency from the courts.
- 6:01Speaker 1: But again, when I say leniency, I highly doubt it's
- 6:05Speaker 1: going to be anything that you would even think would
- 6:09Speaker 1: be something you could look at and say, oh man,
- 6:11Speaker 1: she's catching a serious break here. Because I don't think
- 6:14Speaker 1: she's going to be able to catch a break for
- 6:16Speaker 1: what she has done. I think the crimes against the
- 6:19Speaker 1: children are so heinous that a judge, if the judge
- 6:24Speaker 1: is in their right mind, obviously, will look at all
- 6:26Speaker 1: of the evidence and he's going to go rough on
- 6:30Speaker 1: the defense here. And I would not be shocked if
- 6:33Speaker 1: a jury was completely disgusted and just absolutely threw the
- 6:38Speaker 1: book at Maxwell, no matter the information that she gave.
- 6:42Speaker 1: So it's going to be interesting to see how this
- 6:45Speaker 1: all plays out, folks. 100% we are in for an
- 6:48Speaker 1: absolute wild ride right now. In this case, the deal
- 6:53Speaker 1: would be with one person who for years was the
- 6:56Speaker 1: key insider and by the side of accused and mysterious
- 6:59Speaker 1: underage sex trafficker, pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. The one person who
- 7:04Speaker 1: knows is Maxwell. She knows what happened beyond the photograph,
- 7:07Speaker 1: beyond the toast of champagne. She knows who the skeletons
- 7:10Speaker 1: in the closet are, who hung out with Mr. Epstein,
- 7:13Speaker 1: who went to the island, the mansion, and she can
- 7:16Speaker 1: provide that information, said Lerman. And this is what I
- 7:19Speaker 1: was talking about too, right? She is the one who
- 7:21Speaker 1: holds the keys to where all the bodies are buried.
- 7:27Speaker 1: So again, I'm on the fence here, folks. I don't
- 7:30Speaker 1: really know which way I'm bending as far as what
- 7:34Speaker 1: she can give up and if that's going to be
- 7:36Speaker 1: enough for the prosecution to get into bed with this serpent.
- 7:41Speaker 1: It's amazing to watch how this is all unfolding right now.
- 7:45Speaker 1: And it's amazing to think where we are and to
- 7:48Speaker 1: where we are now, considering nobody thought Ghislaine Maxwell was
- 7:53Speaker 1: going to get arrested anytime soon, never mind right now,
- 7:56Speaker 1: this quickly, right? So everything's happening very fast. Everything's unfolding
- 8:01Speaker 1: at a rapid pace. And we're just trying to keep
- 8:03Speaker 1: up at this point. So... She has all of the dirt.
- 8:08Speaker 1: She knows all of the people that were involved. She
- 8:10Speaker 1: knows all of the people that were getting quote-unquote massages.
- 8:14Speaker 1: She was the one that was in charge of procuring
- 8:16Speaker 1: these girls. She was, according to Maria, when you listen
- 8:19Speaker 1: to what Maria had to say, she was really good
- 8:22Speaker 1: friends with Trump's ex-wife. And they used to drive around together.
- 8:26Speaker 1: You know, look, she has a lot of information. And
- 8:28Speaker 1: the fact that this case is being handled by the
- 8:33Speaker 1: department that's in charge of... public corruption is very interesting too,
- 8:39Speaker 1: and it's a very telling factor in this case.
- 8:46Speaker 2: The U.S.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Attorney's Office has said repeatedly it is investigating possible Epstein
- 8:50Speaker 1: co-conspirators and is looking to talk to people who may
- 8:53Speaker 1: have information about Epstein's sex trafficking. including Prince Andrew, who
- 8:58Speaker 1: Maxwell introduced to Epstein. And this is a very important
- 9:02Speaker 1: factor here, right? The government wants to talk to Andrew.
- 9:05Speaker 1: They say he's a witness. But as I talked about
- 9:08Speaker 1: last night, I highly doubt once he's in that chair,
- 9:11Speaker 1: he's going to be looked at as a witness. And
- 9:13Speaker 1: if Maxwell is spilling the beans right now, and Maxwell
- 9:17Speaker 1: is ratting out Andrew, and Maxwell hands over emails from
- 9:25Speaker 1: Andrew about Ghislaine Maxwell to the authorities. Can you imagine
- 9:29Speaker 1: how this could explode? Can you imagine if the FBI
- 9:34Speaker 1: has tangible evidence as well as Virginia's statements that Andrew
- 9:39Speaker 1: was involved in this? Can you imagine what this will do,
- 9:42Speaker 1: how this will explode? Ghislaine Maxwell on the stand testifying
- 9:49Speaker 1: against Prince Andrew?
- 9:50Speaker 2: Oh boy.
- 9:54Speaker 1: The only caveat, if prosecutors discover someone lies during the
- 9:58Speaker 1: Queen for a Day session, the agreement becomes null and
- 10:00Speaker 1: void and the information can be used against the defendant
- 10:04Speaker 1: in court. So I think that if they offer the
- 10:06Speaker 1: queen for a day proffer, then she'll have to give
- 10:10Speaker 1: up Andrew and everybody else involved. But if she sticks
- 10:13Speaker 1: to her guns and she says she doesn't want to
- 10:15Speaker 1: talk about Andrew, this kind of proffer will be off
- 10:18Speaker 1: the table and it will be a piecemeal kind of deal.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Lerman said most queen for a day agreements end with
- 10:26Speaker 1: prosecutors agreeing to fewer or lesser charges in some cases,
- 10:30Speaker 1: filing a motion with the judge saying the cooperating witness
- 10:34Speaker 1: should get a lesser sentence. And that's what I was
- 10:36Speaker 1: talking about as well. It doesn't mean she's going to
- 10:38Speaker 1: get off if she cooperates. Instead of 35, she might
- 10:41Speaker 1: get 20. So it really comes down to what the
- 10:48Speaker 1: judge and the jury and the prosecutors all think about
- 10:51Speaker 1: the people that she's sending up the line, about the
- 10:55Speaker 1: people that she's ratting on, about the people that she
- 10:58Speaker 1: is trying to throw into the deep end to save herself.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Maxwell 58 is being held in a small cell in
- 11:06Speaker 1: the Metropolitan Detention Center, facing up to 35 years if
- 11:10Speaker 1: convicted on four counts of sex trafficking minors and two
- 11:13Speaker 1: counts of perjury. And remember, I highly doubt that these
- 11:17Speaker 1: are the only charges. These are the charges as of now.
- 11:20Speaker 1: But once other people start to get arrested and start
- 11:23Speaker 1: to get brought in, you'll see more of the criminal
- 11:26Speaker 1: conspiracy type things start to blow up. Lerman said most
- 11:31Speaker 1: queen for a day agreements are struck early on in
- 11:33Speaker 1: a case. She has every reason to cooperate quickly and
- 11:37Speaker 1: not later. It is rare to happen later. It is
- 11:40Speaker 1: more likely it is happening as we speak, said Lerman.
- 11:44Speaker 1: And that's what I've been saying, too. The second she
- 11:46Speaker 1: gets brought in, she's going to flip. She can't take
- 11:49Speaker 1: the pressure from a seasoned interrogator. She's getting hammered right
- 11:54Speaker 1: now as we speak. What do you think, the investigators
- 11:57Speaker 1: aren't all over her, sitting down with her, letting her
- 11:59Speaker 1: know the deal?
- 12:00Speaker 2: Oh, they are.
- 12:01Speaker 1: And Ghislaine Maxwell is not built for this life. Maxwell's
- 12:08Speaker 1: bail hearing will be held Tuesday via video. Prosecutors are
- 12:12Speaker 1: arguing for no bail, saying in court documents Maxwell is
- 12:15Speaker 1: an extreme flight risk. And we've discussed that as well.
- 12:19Speaker 1: She should not get bail. I don't care about the coronavirus.
- 12:22Speaker 1: I don't care if there's a smallpox outbreak. I don't
- 12:25Speaker 1: care if there is an airborne version of Ebola ripping
- 12:29Speaker 1: through the jail. She should not get bail. Move her
- 12:32Speaker 1: to a different facility. I heard one guy talking today
- 12:36Speaker 1: about moving her to Rikers Island and letting the New
- 12:39Speaker 1: York correctional authorities keep an eye on her instead of
- 12:43Speaker 1: the moronic feds. And I'll tell you the truth, I
- 12:46Speaker 1: don't think I'd be upset at that either. At the
- 12:51Speaker 1: end of the day, Maxwell has to be safeguarded like
- 12:54Speaker 1: nobody has ever been safeguarded before. And it is up
- 13:00Speaker 1: to the federal government to withhold their end of the
- 13:04Speaker 1: bargain for once and make sure that this lady shows
- 13:09Speaker 1: up ready to go in court to face those she
- 13:14Speaker 1: abused for so long, to face all of those people
- 13:20Speaker 1: whose lives she ruined. It is up to the federal
- 13:24Speaker 1: government to make sure that that day arrives. And with
- 13:28Speaker 1: their track record, well, they shouldn't be surprised that people
- 13:33Speaker 1: have questions, that people have concerns. Ghislaine Maxwell and the
- 13:42Speaker 1: rest of these co-conspirators, their time is up.
- 13:49Speaker 2: The party is over.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Names are being named and soon sentences will be distributed.
