The Hanceville Police Department in Alabama is officially shut down after a grand jury exposed a “rampant culture of corruption,” including officers injecting drugs on duty, tampering with criminal databases, and sharing controlled substances. The scandal erupted following the death of a dispatcher from an overdose in 2024, leading to nearly 60 felony cases being dismissed.
