- 0:00Speaker 1: There he is, I am following my dreams as an animator.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I said, fuck it, I'm gonna do it. Ahead, So
- 0:19Speaker 1: I enrolled in Ardment's academy. Say, it's a I don't
- 0:25Speaker 1: know if you of our listeners are very familiar with,
- 0:28Speaker 1: like Wallace and Grommit or Chicken Run on the Sheep. Uh.
- 0:34Speaker 1: They have an animation academy. And in that academy, you
- 0:39Speaker 1: you know, I've been doing stop motion for a while.
- 0:41Speaker 1: But they have courses, and they have two stop motion courses.
- 0:45Speaker 1: They have a fabrication course, they have a course on
- 0:49Speaker 1: how to get into the industry and stuff like that. Uh.
- 0:53Speaker 1: And really what you're doing is you're learning how to
- 0:55Speaker 1: network with all of these great animators or up and
- 0:57Speaker 1: coming animators and people in this uh, in the Ardament community.
- 1:02Speaker 1: And so I enrolled in their course. And we are
- 1:04Speaker 1: now in week two and in person or online. It's online.
- 1:09Speaker 1: It used to be in person, but they offered it online.
- 1:13Speaker 1: It's amazing. Right before the pandemic happened, very similar to
- 1:18Speaker 1: how we were coming out, they had already put in
- 1:21Speaker 1: motion their plan for online classes, and the pandemic happened,
- 1:27Speaker 1: and they were able to jump right into now, are
- 1:31Speaker 1: you like you must have signed up for an intermediate
- 1:34Speaker 1: or level because you're not a beginner. No, I took
- 1:37Speaker 1: the beginner course, to be honest with you, because it
- 1:40Speaker 1: also teaches how to work with like ball and sock
- 1:42Speaker 1: and armatus, which I'm very familiar with. Also, I'm like,
- 1:45Speaker 1: I'm pretty verse in stop motion animation right now, but
- 1:49Speaker 1: it's always good to go back to the basics, especially
- 1:51Speaker 1: when you're learning, you know, from new people, and so
- 1:56Speaker 1: I'm really excited about it. It's I've already learned things
- 2:01Speaker 1: that I didn't know before, and so it's pretty cool. Congratulations.
- 2:04Speaker 1: I'm very impressed that you're taking a class. I would
- 2:06Speaker 1: love it. And so the reason why I was like
- 2:08Speaker 1: two minutes late, five minutes late today was because I
- 2:11Speaker 1: had somebody deliver a down shooter table, which is a
- 2:16Speaker 1: table where you can mount the camera on top and
- 2:19Speaker 1: shoot down. When the person delivered it, did you mention this,
- 2:26Speaker 1: whether it be taking a poop, whether it be a finger,
- 2:29Speaker 1: whether it be a tongue, whether it you know, everybody
- 2:32Speaker 1: likes a little ass play. I'm gonna tall something right now.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I'm gonna tall something right now. He was in that
- 2:38Speaker 1: he was in the in my animation room. And you
- 2:41Speaker 1: guys know about whenever you bring men to your animation room,
- 2:46Speaker 1: ship goes down, it gets dangerous. This time it was
- 2:49Speaker 1: my own version of ass play. He was there like
- 2:52Speaker 1: and I look, we had the we had the we
- 2:54Speaker 1: have the podcast coming and then and and he's there,
- 2:58Speaker 1: but and he's kind of like he's ready to leave,
- 3:00Speaker 1: but he hasn't left yet. And I'm sitting there and
- 3:03Speaker 1: I gotta take a ship. And I'm like, oh, I
- 3:06Speaker 1: don't want to just kick him out and be like
- 3:08Speaker 1: I gotta take a ship. You gotta go, you know
- 3:09Speaker 1: what I mean. I want to be a little bit
- 3:11Speaker 1: moreful than that, you know what I mean. And so
- 3:14Speaker 1: I'm like, ah, yeah, man, you know. And it's like
- 3:18Speaker 1: it's it's about to touch cloth, right, you know what
- 3:21Speaker 1: I mean? And shit, And I said, well, and my
- 3:26Speaker 1: wife taught me something that is the best thing and
- 3:29Speaker 1: it works for everything. Listen, whenever you're on the phone
- 3:31Speaker 1: with someone, whenever you're on a FaceTime, anytime you want
- 3:35Speaker 1: to get out of it, yeah, well let me let
- 3:38Speaker 1: you go. Always works, always works, okay, thank you, always works.
- 3:46Speaker 1: It's not it's not, it's not. I gotta go it's
- 3:49Speaker 1: let me let you. Thank you for hearing everything I've
- 3:53Speaker 1: had to say. Let me let you go on with
- 3:56Speaker 1: your life. Now I've been holding you up right. Yeah
- 3:59Speaker 1: yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. That's the greatest way
- 4:01Speaker 1: to get out of everything. Let me let you I
- 4:03Speaker 1: said to him, let me let you go, and he
- 4:05Speaker 1: was like, great, thank you. And then you took your
- 4:09Speaker 1: dukie and then I took my dukie. And it's interesting
- 4:12Speaker 1: because one of the themes of this episode is that
- 4:14Speaker 1: you have to fart, fart big time and you, which
- 4:21Speaker 1: is ridiculous, like why not just go in the bathroom
- 4:24Speaker 1: of the of the hospital room and fart, Like why
- 4:27Speaker 1: why why won't Judy let you, Carlo let you fart?
- 4:31Speaker 1: Why would he even hold it? Listen, this is what
- 4:33Speaker 1: I Yeah, a fart bubble to the heart piece could
- 4:37Speaker 1: kill your ass real quick. Yeah that's from a fake
- 4:40Speaker 1: doctor guy, So listen to that. Don't hold it in.
- 4:42Speaker 1: It's not good for you. The last thing you want,
- 4:45Speaker 1: the last thing you want is a stinky fart bubble
- 4:49Speaker 1: to travel all the way through your system to your heart.
- 4:52Speaker 1: And but you don't know if the fart is gonna
- 4:55Speaker 1: be like a non smelling one. Or a really horrible one.
- 5:00Speaker 1: You know, like if you're a fart an elevator and
- 5:02Speaker 1: then like you're alone and then someone gets on, You're like, fuck,
- 5:07Speaker 1: reeks in here. Now I farted before and it hasn't reeked,
- 5:11Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Right, everybody does that in like, um,
- 5:16Speaker 1: where do people far? Airplane? Everyone's always fired on the airplane. Yeah,
- 5:20Speaker 1: people just let it fly. Just let it go, dude,
- 5:23Speaker 1: And you can't and you never know who did it either,
- 5:25Speaker 1: because it's just circulating air. It's just like, oh, that
- 5:27Speaker 1: could have came from back then. There's something about an
- 5:29Speaker 1: airplane that just like all fart etiquette is off, just
- 5:33Speaker 1: like there's something about a pool that all piss etiquette
- 5:36Speaker 1: is off. Whoa wait, No, I'm wrong about that. No,
- 5:41Speaker 1: I don't pee in the pool. I think you were
- 5:42Speaker 1: a kid. I don't say I did. I'm just wondering
- 5:47Speaker 1: if you pee in my pool. I do not pee
- 5:49Speaker 1: in your pool, but I bet you My kids do. Well.
- 5:52Speaker 1: They told Josh that. I remember when Josh came over
- 5:54Speaker 1: and he and he that wasn't my kids, Yeah it
- 5:58Speaker 1: was no, it wasn't. That was foods kids. Oh, that
- 6:01Speaker 1: was dude's kids that's right. Josh is like, they're like,
- 6:04Speaker 1: get in, mister, mister Josh, and he goes, I'm not
- 6:07Speaker 1: getting in that pool. You guys Pete in there they go,
- 6:09Speaker 1: not in the hot tub. We got to announce right
- 6:20Speaker 1: off the bat because we haven't yet that, um, we're
- 6:23Speaker 1: going to Austin, Texas to do the Austin Texas Austin
- 6:29Speaker 1: TV Festival who we are doing a Scrubs reunion pound.
- 6:33Speaker 1: This has been in the works for so long and yeah,
- 6:38Speaker 1: and uh, it's hard when someone asks you to do
- 6:40Speaker 1: something so far out. And they always asked us to
- 6:44Speaker 1: do it like six months in advance, and we were
- 6:46Speaker 1: all like, I don't know what ll I'm going to
- 6:47Speaker 1: be in June, but um, it's happening June second through
- 6:52Speaker 1: the fifth. If you were in Austin, Texas or near Austin, Texas,
- 6:57Speaker 1: you should come because on Sunday, I believe right, Donald,
- 7:01Speaker 1: here's the schedule. Sunday at ten am is when we
- 7:05Speaker 1: are reuniting the Scrubs cast at the Paramount Theater in Austin.
- 7:11Speaker 1: I'm gonna get some good barbecue that day. Probably. I
- 7:16Speaker 1: think I'm gonna go a day early. Donald, you might
- 7:18Speaker 1: want to join me because there's no reason to go
- 7:20Speaker 1: down there for one day. You know, it's still Texas.
- 7:27Speaker 1: If your wife will allow you, If your wife will
- 7:31Speaker 1: allow you, know, Austin's amazing. I'm told um, Texas is amazing.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I don't think I've ever been to Austin. Oh, you're
- 7:38Speaker 1: gonna love it, dude. I've been to Austin with you.
- 7:41Speaker 1: You've been to Austin. Man, When was I in Austin?
- 7:44Speaker 1: We went for some scrubshit. We even ate barbecue in Austin.
- 7:46Speaker 1: We went for fucking wish I was here. Oh, okay,
- 7:49Speaker 1: maybe for wish I was here, all right, But the
- 7:50Speaker 1: point is I'm going. Donald and I are going, And
- 7:54Speaker 1: if you want to see an in person scrubs reine.
- 7:57Speaker 1: I know that Sarah's going. I know that Bill Lawrence,
- 8:00Speaker 1: the Creator's going. I'm going, Johnny Sees going. Do you
- 8:05Speaker 1: know if Judy's going. I hope she's going. I believe
- 8:07Speaker 1: she said she was. I don't know if Neil's going.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I don't know the extent. You could probably find out
- 8:12Speaker 1: who's going to be there on the at X. Oh,
- 8:14Speaker 1: let me give you the website, Like a good host
- 8:16Speaker 1: of a podcast, It's at x Festival dot com and
- 8:20Speaker 1: go there and you can come see us, because we
- 8:23Speaker 1: were never all together ever. I was just with William
- 8:28Speaker 1: Lawrence in Miami. Now I'm home in La Donald. Didn't
- 8:32Speaker 1: you know I'm home in La I'm very happy you're home.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I missed you. I really did miss you. Did you
- 8:38Speaker 1: Did you get a chance to check out doctor Strange?
- 8:41Speaker 1: That was the question, That's what everybody wants to know. No,
- 8:44Speaker 1: but I will tell you. On the airplane last night,
- 8:47Speaker 1: I did begin to watch the latest Spider Man. I
- 8:51Speaker 1: found it very entertaining. It's very good, very good. It's
- 8:55Speaker 1: probably their best movie, that one, Endgame, Infinity War, Black Anther,
- 9:01Speaker 1: Captain America. Oh really, you're saying it's up there with
- 9:03Speaker 1: the top Marvel movies Spider Man, Yes, for sure. So
- 9:07Speaker 1: there's a there's a lot of arguments out there right now.
- 9:10Speaker 1: This Strange is kind of done what freaking uh the
- 9:14Speaker 1: Last Jedi is done to what the Last Jedi did
- 9:18Speaker 1: to the Star Wars universe. I'm finding Strange is doing
- 9:22Speaker 1: to the Marvel universe. It's it's causing a rift. For
- 9:27Speaker 1: those who've seen the movie, they kind of understand what
- 9:29Speaker 1: I'm talking about. It's causing a split right down in
- 9:33Speaker 1: the middle in like like, a lot of people love
- 9:36Speaker 1: it and some people hate it. I will say this,
- 9:38Speaker 1: If your argument is then you're you're not a real
- 9:42Speaker 1: Marvel fan. If you don't like Strange, then you have
- 9:47Speaker 1: no argument. I'm sorry that literally, if you don't like
- 9:50Speaker 1: Multiverse of Madness, if your argument is, oh, then you
- 9:53Speaker 1: must not be a real Marvel fan. I'm sorry, but
- 9:57Speaker 1: that's the weakest argument you could possibly make. I'm just
- 10:01Speaker 1: it's not based in anything, right, It means absolutely nothing.
- 10:05Speaker 1: So for those of you out there that are saying that,
- 10:08Speaker 1: eat a dick, you sound like a moron. All right?
- 10:10Speaker 1: So that being set, Daniel, what did you think? You
- 10:15Speaker 1: know what, I'm kind of thankful that when we were
- 10:17Speaker 1: on the show last you guys were not huge fans
- 10:20Speaker 1: of it, because it lowered my expectations a little bit
- 10:23Speaker 1: and I kind of went into it like being like, Okay,
- 10:27Speaker 1: maybe it's not so great. And I think the campier,
- 10:30Speaker 1: rainier elements of the movie really hit me in the
- 10:34Speaker 1: right way. I loved it. I really enjoyed it. I
- 10:38Speaker 1: did hold on. I do like the Rainie, I do
- 10:41Speaker 1: like the Ramie aspect of it. I'm not gonna I'm
- 10:43Speaker 1: not gonna lie about that. I think some of the
- 10:45Speaker 1: people that were brought in they missed on you know
- 10:49Speaker 1: what I mean, for certain parts of the movie they
- 10:54Speaker 1: could have gotten. I mean, it's it's Disney, it's Marvel.
- 10:57Speaker 1: They should have went bigger than that. Many Let's not
- 11:00Speaker 1: give anyone any spoilers anything talking about Marvel because some people,
- 11:06Speaker 1: I don't know who might find it boring his balls,
- 11:10Speaker 1: um Donald, But let's get back to me, Um, I'm home.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Will you be spending time with me? Will you? Will
- 11:18Speaker 1: you find time for me? I'm gonna try, and I'm
- 11:22Speaker 1: gonna try and crash your tennis lesson. Maybe I don't
- 11:26Speaker 1: take lessons now, I just play with the g with
- 11:28Speaker 1: the ogs. I'm on that og level. Now you're gonna
- 11:32Speaker 1: have to catch up. Do you ever go Tuesday, Tuesday
- 11:35Speaker 1: or Thursday? That's cases That's I used to go to
- 11:38Speaker 1: when I was getting back into tennis. That's where I go.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Pete does that a lot. Actually, Pete does it because
- 11:43Speaker 1: Pete Pete plays a lot of tennis man, and he
- 11:46Speaker 1: can play against people he could well, he could play
- 11:49Speaker 1: against people that are better than him, and he could
- 11:52Speaker 1: play against people that are like a lot worse than him.
- 11:55Speaker 1: I find it very difficult to play against people that
- 11:59Speaker 1: aren't close to my level or you know what I mean,
- 12:03Speaker 1: or better if you can't play tennis, I have a
- 12:06Speaker 1: hard time playing tennis. That's just me. Well I will
- 12:09Speaker 1: tell you that. Um, I will be going. I'm gonna
- 12:13Speaker 1: get back into tennis because I need it, I always
- 12:16Speaker 1: and it's the summertime. But Donald, I'm really excited to
- 12:19Speaker 1: be with you, Joel Dan, I'm I'm glad to be
- 12:22Speaker 1: back in Los Angeles where it's beautiful. Let's get into
- 12:26Speaker 1: the show. Donald count us in six seven eight stories
- 12:31Speaker 1: about show, we made about a bunch of doctor nurses stories.
- 12:43Speaker 1: So Gada around here, Yato around here. What a very
- 12:53Speaker 1: bizarre episode of Scrubs at all? Pretty much? You know
- 12:56Speaker 1: they did. They have these shows we've told you before
- 12:59Speaker 1: where they the the showrunner might be trying to save
- 13:02Speaker 1: a little money. They call them like stuck in a
- 13:06Speaker 1: or a bottle episode. This is literally called the fish
- 13:11Speaker 1: my fish Bowl, And uh, I sense that bill takes
- 13:16Speaker 1: place on one floor. It takes place really in one
- 13:19Speaker 1: room right for the most part, and it but it
- 13:22Speaker 1: does have that flashback that I told you was one
- 13:25Speaker 1: of the funniest things in Scrub's history where we both
- 13:27Speaker 1: tell a different version of the story. I didn't know
- 13:30Speaker 1: that this. I did not know that this story was
- 13:32Speaker 1: going to make its way back around, you know. So
- 13:35Speaker 1: at first we'll get to it. But I'm gonna say,
- 13:38Speaker 1: at first, I was like, didn't we did we watch
- 13:41Speaker 1: this episode already? Accord me a little because Jad's obsessed
- 13:44Speaker 1: about the fact that there were no water, But your
- 13:47Speaker 1: lie doesn't hold up. But it seems to me that
- 13:51Speaker 1: whenever you see this, fellow listeners, an episode of your
- 13:56Speaker 1: of your favorite show that seems to be taking place
- 13:59Speaker 1: in one room or one space, it often is um
- 14:04Speaker 1: the showrunner saving a little bit of money and time
- 14:07Speaker 1: to either they're your over budget, or they're saving up
- 14:10Speaker 1: to do a more expensive episode, or it's just kind
- 14:14Speaker 1: of an old trick. So we are all pretty much
- 14:16Speaker 1: stuck in private dancers room the whole time. Do you
- 14:22Speaker 1: recall Mikey Weston being in this mini episode to Scrub,
- 14:26Speaker 1: I swore it was only like one, maybe two is
- 14:30Speaker 1: four or five am I'm making out with my gall
- 14:32Speaker 1: at the end that well, you know, Elliot's a gem
- 14:36Speaker 1: for that also though we'll get to that too. Okay,
- 14:38Speaker 1: we'll get to that too. We're getting ahead of ourselves.
- 14:40Speaker 1: She gave him a reason to live. It was written
- 14:42Speaker 1: by Kevin Beagle, directed by Chris Kotch, one of our
- 14:45Speaker 1: favorite directors. Great man, great man, great man, great person,
- 14:51Speaker 1: great director. Yes, a good filmmaker, a nice mensch. As
- 14:56Speaker 1: we say, yes, I love Chris Cotche every time I
- 15:00Speaker 1: see him. He also likes camera toys like me, so
- 15:02Speaker 1: we get to talk about cameras and camera gear and
- 15:05Speaker 1: we got the latest thing. We were at a party
- 15:08Speaker 1: once my wife and I and Chris was there and
- 15:12Speaker 1: I forgot his wife's name and I was like, dude,
- 15:15Speaker 1: I'm so sorry, what's your wife's name? And he was like,
- 15:17Speaker 1: it's Jill. And I was like, oh, thank you, like
- 15:20Speaker 1: so Jill. And she wouldn't answer me. He goes, I'm
- 15:23Speaker 1: just fucking with you, dick. That's mean, but funny. Yeah,
- 15:29Speaker 1: but funny. And to this day don't know his wife's name.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Um So, speaking of not funny, Carla is not funny
- 15:38Speaker 1: in this episode. That's the main one of the main
- 15:41Speaker 1: threads of this episode. Now I believe yes, Scrubs floor, Yes,
- 15:48Speaker 1: is that Judy always wanted more jokes, yes, and Bill
- 15:53Speaker 1: was frustrated because not that you didn't think that Judy
- 15:56Speaker 1: was funny, but he said, that's not really your character
- 16:00Speaker 1: on the show. You're the heart, you're the warmth, you're
- 16:02Speaker 1: the maternal figure, you're the you're you're a very valuable
- 16:07Speaker 1: part of the show. That isn't the comedy. Of course,
- 16:11Speaker 1: occasionally you'll have a joke, but that's not really your place.
- 16:15Speaker 1: And now Judy didn't like that. And as as as
- 16:21Speaker 1: the story goes, I don't even know if it's true.
- 16:23Speaker 1: We'll have to ask Bill one day when he comes back.
- 16:25Speaker 1: But as the story goes, he got sick and tired
- 16:29Speaker 1: of of Judy asking to be funnier. So he made
- 16:32Speaker 1: a whole episode where about Carla funny, about Carla not
- 16:39Speaker 1: being funnier. Oh boy, that's I mean, that was but
- 16:44Speaker 1: that was Bill's way of putting things to bed. Also,
- 16:46Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like I think he was
- 16:49Speaker 1: just I don't know if it's if it's as malicious
- 16:52Speaker 1: as that, which is funny and classic Bill, but um,
- 16:56Speaker 1: but it does seem like someone going, you know what,
- 16:59Speaker 1: We're to write a whole episode about how Carlo's not funny,
- 17:09Speaker 1: and she's not funny. I mean Judy's funny. Judy's very funny.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Hold on now, figure Clarity's sake. Judy's very funny and
- 17:16Speaker 1: a very incredible actress. And Carlo would occasionally have jokes,
- 17:21Speaker 1: but again that was not her place in the show.
- 17:24Speaker 1: She was the heart. Um so what we So let's
- 17:27Speaker 1: start from the beginning. Doctor Kelso partied on segregated beaches
- 17:31Speaker 1: and was all right with it. That shit had me
- 17:33Speaker 1: rolling where the Burn's like there we go right there
- 17:35Speaker 1: in the picture back there and she points us. Doesn't
- 17:38Speaker 1: that make you feel bad? And he's like, damn, I
- 17:41Speaker 1: look good. Who's the worst photoshop job ever? By the way,
- 17:46Speaker 1: the fact that the black people are, that the black
- 17:48Speaker 1: people are on the beach looking at all the white
- 17:51Speaker 1: people have fun just standing there watching them, like shit,
- 17:54Speaker 1: I wish I could jump in that water like they
- 17:56Speaker 1: have on clothes and everything. Why are they It's weird
- 18:00Speaker 1: that they're they're at the beach, but they're like behind
- 18:02Speaker 1: like a rope line. And then Kelsel's got like abs.
- 18:07Speaker 1: That's fucked up. That made that's that's the fucked up shit.
- 18:10Speaker 1: They make it seem like they make it seem like, oh,
- 18:13Speaker 1: the white side of things. It's it's so much better
- 18:15Speaker 1: over here. It's so much better that we're gonna put
- 18:17Speaker 1: the velvet rope up and you guys can look over
- 18:20Speaker 1: the velvet rope. You got to be at a club
- 18:22Speaker 1: and look over the velvet rope. Ain't shit going on
- 18:24Speaker 1: over there. That's anything popp and compared to what's going
- 18:27Speaker 1: on in the normal club. I saw Lebron in person, Donald,
- 18:31Speaker 1: Where did you see Lebron? I went to the F
- 18:32Speaker 1: one Races by the way, which was really cool. We
- 18:36Speaker 1: met Lebron before. I've never met Lebron, haven't. Yeah you have,
- 18:39Speaker 1: Yeah you have. Anyway, I went to a nightclub. I
- 18:43Speaker 1: really didn't want to go to nightclub, but Miami has
- 18:45Speaker 1: a lot of nightclubs. I told you, I told you
- 18:49Speaker 1: you loved it, loved it, loved it. You're telling me
- 18:53Speaker 1: a story about how you met Lebron at a nightclub.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I saw Lebron enter with a very very large entourage.
- 18:59Speaker 1: I mean, it might as well have been like a
- 19:01Speaker 1: whole bust full of people, but I did see him
- 19:05Speaker 1: in person with sunglasses on on the club. How do
- 19:07Speaker 1: we feel about that? That's weird anyway, we must. How
- 19:13Speaker 1: do you see he got a bunch of people guiding him.
- 19:17Speaker 1: He's not him walking talking. I know He's like, where
- 19:20Speaker 1: are we going? Yeah? I just moved with the posse. No,
- 19:23Speaker 1: I did go. I don't like you. I don't It's
- 19:26Speaker 1: so loud, and I'm just grown out of it. I
- 19:29Speaker 1: think I know it's not for me. I don't know anymore.
- 19:31Speaker 1: I haven't been to a club in so long. I
- 19:33Speaker 1: do know this. If I go to club, to o' club,
- 19:36Speaker 1: I want to bring my wife because she's a lot
- 19:37Speaker 1: of fun at the club and I want to see
- 19:39Speaker 1: her back. Maybe if I was in a booth with
- 19:41Speaker 1: you and Casey, I would maybe I'd be laughing and
- 19:44Speaker 1: having fun. And I was with nice people friends, but
- 19:47Speaker 1: I was just like, it's so loud, you can't talk
- 19:49Speaker 1: to anybody. Were you with Tarcis and Bill? No. I
- 19:53Speaker 1: was with Andrew Watt, who's uh, who's a music producer.
- 19:58Speaker 1: And I was with Charlotte. But anyway, I thought you'd
- 20:02Speaker 1: be excited by the fact that I saw Lebron in person.
- 20:04Speaker 1: He's tall, he is tall, he is very tall, but
- 20:08Speaker 1: he wears sunglasses in the club, and I don't know
- 20:09Speaker 1: how I feel about that. I don't know how I
- 20:11Speaker 1: feel about that too. That that was my thing. First
- 20:13Speaker 1: one of my time seeing jay Z in the club,
- 20:15Speaker 1: he had sunglasses on and I was like, dude, please
- 20:18Speaker 1: either be stoned so stone that your eyes are so
- 20:21Speaker 1: red that you don't know how people see you, Like,
- 20:23Speaker 1: come on, don't be that guy, like the guy that
- 20:25Speaker 1: wears the sunglasses inside of a room, Like it's when
- 20:28Speaker 1: it's come on man. But like it was cool. We
- 20:31Speaker 1: got to see that. Bill got us tickets to be
- 20:34Speaker 1: in the Ferrari tent, and that was cool. And the
- 20:39Speaker 1: funny thing is, though your corner they go by so
- 20:42Speaker 1: fast you you you you, that you end up turning
- 20:45Speaker 1: to watch the thing on TV because you can't really
- 20:48Speaker 1: see much there. It's like the puck at a at
- 20:51Speaker 1: a hockey game kind of that's a good analogy. You
- 20:55Speaker 1: it's cool when they go by and you can't believe
- 20:57Speaker 1: how fast they go by, but it's like you know,
- 20:59Speaker 1: you you you, and then like you have no sense
- 21:02Speaker 1: of the race unless you turn to the TV. So
- 21:06Speaker 1: people have paid all this money to be there, but
- 21:08Speaker 1: they're all gathered around the TV right to watch the
- 21:12Speaker 1: actual to watch it in freaking like a what's it
- 21:15Speaker 1: called a tracking shot instead of the all the different
- 21:17Speaker 1: angles and the angles inside the car and you can
- 21:20Speaker 1: see who's in the league. But it was really cool.
- 21:22Speaker 1: It was a great life experience. I don't need to
- 21:25Speaker 1: do it again, but I take that back. Hockey is
- 21:27Speaker 1: better to watch in person than it is on television. Sorry.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Hockey is because you can see the puck in person.
- 21:34Speaker 1: On television, you can't see the puck that well. In person,
- 21:37Speaker 1: you see it all the way. You see it the
- 21:39Speaker 1: whole time. I'm gonna tell you if you if you
- 21:43Speaker 1: ever get the opportunity to go to a hockey game,
- 21:45Speaker 1: any of our listeners out there, if you're avid hockey fans,
- 21:48Speaker 1: you already know, but if you've never been to a
- 21:50Speaker 1: hockey game, like I hadn't until I went to a
- 21:52Speaker 1: New Jersey Devil Devil's game and they put me on
- 21:54Speaker 1: the JumboTron. By the way, Garden State, shout out guard
- 21:58Speaker 1: the Garden State. Yeah, the New Jersey Devils appreciate Donald Faison,
- 22:02Speaker 1: Thank you for me on the jumbo tron. Anyway, I
- 22:06Speaker 1: got to take the cast and crew of Emergence to
- 22:10Speaker 1: a New Jersey Devil's game, and it was so much fun.
- 22:13Speaker 1: It's so much better when you get to go because
- 22:16Speaker 1: you can see the puck and that's such a big deal.
- 22:19Speaker 1: I want some. Was inebriated as a as a child
- 22:23Speaker 1: at a at a New Jersey Devil's game and I
- 22:25Speaker 1: had to go to New Jersey Devil's jail. What details on.
- 22:34Speaker 1: We were teenagers, We were teen I was probably fifteen sixteen,
- 22:39Speaker 1: and we drank you know, we're in the in the
- 22:41Speaker 1: car in the parking lot, pounding our our maister brows
- 22:46Speaker 1: and your moister brown. Yeah, that was like the cheapest
- 22:50Speaker 1: beer that we drank in Jersey. And I remember we
- 22:54Speaker 1: were like, you know, way up at the top the
- 22:55Speaker 1: cheapest tickets you can get. And I was certainly you know,
- 22:59Speaker 1: I probably had two beers and was hammered or maybe three,
- 23:03Speaker 1: because I don't know whatever I was drinking. I think
- 23:06Speaker 1: all I remember is this, I went to go buy
- 23:09Speaker 1: food and I clearly was stumbling because I went to
- 23:14Speaker 1: pull my wallet out. And this is at the time
- 23:16Speaker 1: it was Brendan bern Arena. I don't know what they
- 23:18Speaker 1: call New Jersey Devils Stadium now, but Joel will look
- 23:22Speaker 1: that up for us. It's probably like cryptocurrencies crashing dot com.
- 23:29Speaker 1: You're happy you didn't buy crypto, now, Donald, I was
- 23:33Speaker 1: never gonna buy. I don't even know what's going on
- 23:34Speaker 1: with crypto. Man, It's like the Titanic hitting an iceberg.
- 23:39Speaker 1: It's bad. So all those people who are mining all
- 23:42Speaker 1: of that shit. If you, if you, if you own crypto,
- 23:45Speaker 1: you lost half your money this week. Yeah, the Prudential Center.
- 23:48Speaker 1: All right, so listen, I'm at the Prudential Center, New
- 23:52Speaker 1: Jersey Devils are you're listening. I'd like to buy this
- 23:53Speaker 1: back and come back as a forty seven year old
- 23:56Speaker 1: adult who's allowed to drink alcohol and not be put
- 24:00Speaker 1: in New Jersey Devil's jail. Because what happened was I went.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I was going never good when it started with seeing
- 24:07Speaker 1: what had happened was what had happened was I went.
- 24:10Speaker 1: I was trying to like go buy like a hot
- 24:11Speaker 1: dog or something, and my wallet fell on the ground. No,
- 24:15Speaker 1: and so I go down and get my wallet like
- 24:18Speaker 1: on the ground, and it was out of a movie.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I saw like two pairs of boots. Now, these security
- 24:25Speaker 1: officers had clearly clocked a fifteen year old drunk kid
- 24:31Speaker 1: stumbling around dropping his wallet on the ground and I
- 24:37Speaker 1: tilted up and they were like, you're coming with us,
- 24:39Speaker 1: And I was like, why what are you talking about?
- 24:43Speaker 1: You know, I'm gonna come with yo, I'm gonna get
- 24:47Speaker 1: a hot dog. I'm up. I'm in seat quadruples. Nobody's
- 24:56Speaker 1: ever seen I've seen you drunk. This is accurate, this
- 24:59Speaker 1: is so active. I was trying to talk some sense
- 25:01Speaker 1: in them, and they brought me downstairs and there's a
- 25:07Speaker 1: whole like holding pen area. Was it? Are there bars? Yeah?
- 25:12Speaker 1: They're you know, it's for like people getting fights and
- 25:14Speaker 1: people who whatever. They have an actual jail pin inside
- 25:19Speaker 1: of the prediction center. Yes, I'm sure every arena does
- 25:22Speaker 1: for someone who's drunk or gets in a fight or whatever,
- 25:25Speaker 1: just to remind them. But they don't want to throw
- 25:27Speaker 1: you just in some random room. They gotta have a
- 25:29Speaker 1: bar it was. It was actually a jail. It was
- 25:33Speaker 1: a jail cell. Just to remind your ass. Joke, this
- 25:36Speaker 1: is where you're going next. Get comfortable, get used to this. Look.
- 25:40Speaker 1: The worst part was I remember They're like, we have
- 25:41Speaker 1: to call someone to come pick you up, and I
- 25:45Speaker 1: was like, oh no, no. Only my sister was around,
- 25:48Speaker 1: so I gave her my number. I gave them her
- 25:50Speaker 1: number and she couldn't. She couldn't. I forgot why she
- 25:54Speaker 1: couldn't come, But she totally screwed me over. I could
- 25:57Speaker 1: have I could have avoided this, but tobaccle so who
- 26:03Speaker 1: tried to call? Then it happened through the bars. I
- 26:08Speaker 1: saw my mom, my mom. I was crying and everything
- 26:15Speaker 1: my mom because I was get my baby out of it. No,
- 26:19Speaker 1: my mom wasn't crying. I was crying. I was like,
- 26:23Speaker 1: it's a misunderstanding. But I was all emotional because I
- 26:28Speaker 1: was drunk, Because you would drunk out of your mind.
- 26:30Speaker 1: I was at a drunk kid, all three beers, and
- 26:34Speaker 1: I was such a good kid. My mom was so
- 26:36Speaker 1: pissed off that she had to on her weekend day
- 26:39Speaker 1: drive to the Prudential Center and pick up her drunk
- 26:42Speaker 1: kid in the drunk tank. But anyway, so Devil's will
- 26:48Speaker 1: you have me back? I promised to stay sober, and
- 26:51Speaker 1: uh hey, I know for a fact that not only
- 26:53Speaker 1: will the New Jersey Devils have you back, but they'll
- 26:56Speaker 1: put you on the jumbo tron to oh, I want
- 26:58Speaker 1: to be on the JumboTron and I want to be
- 26:59Speaker 1: on the kiss cam with Donald. I'm not gonna kiss
- 27:03Speaker 1: you kiss me on the kissca, Come on, your lips
- 27:07Speaker 1: look really like chafe, chafe chaps. Any that's not true.
- 27:13Speaker 1: I've been in Miami. Maybe they're dry, but I would
- 27:16Speaker 1: I would moisturize them before we went to the game.
- 27:22Speaker 1: I think about it. If we got brought up on
- 27:25Speaker 1: a kiss cam, you wouldn't kiss me. No, Yeah, I
- 27:28Speaker 1: would just just just to fucking freak everybody out and nobody.
- 27:32Speaker 1: If you want to know, if you want to break
- 27:35Speaker 1: these motherfuckers out, we hold it. It'll start from cheering too, like,
- 27:48Speaker 1: oh oh, I should we go to break when we
- 27:54Speaker 1: come back, we would promise we'll talk about the show.
- 27:56Speaker 1: We'll talk about it right back, and we're bad. I
- 28:12Speaker 1: got all sound effects WU tank forever one. I do
- 28:17Speaker 1: like that one. So when Carla is not When we
- 28:20Speaker 1: find out that Carla is not funny, Cox explains every
- 28:25Speaker 1: character in Scrubs history pretty much, or at least our
- 28:29Speaker 1: main our main characters, yes, and why they're funny and
- 28:33Speaker 1: what their purpose is on the show. He goes through
- 28:36Speaker 1: us all and he explains to her, this isn't your lane.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Your lane is the one that takes care of everything.
- 28:43Speaker 1: You're the heart. You're the one that you're the glue,
- 28:46Speaker 1: You're the one that keeps us together. And Carla can't
- 28:49Speaker 1: hear that shit, and she goes on a really bad
- 28:53Speaker 1: joke spree. Pretty much. Yeah, I liked when he was
- 28:58Speaker 1: pointing out that the janitor was weird. The janitor says,
- 29:01Speaker 1: I made shoes for my rabbit, and he holds them
- 29:03Speaker 1: up and they appear to be made out of rabbit.
- 29:11Speaker 1: I think there's a double joke there that the their
- 29:13Speaker 1: shoes for a rabbit, but they're made of rabbit. They
- 29:16Speaker 1: looked like they were made out of rabbit. M What
- 29:20Speaker 1: about Todd is smelling the nurse's armpits? Wasn't that his girlfriend? Yes?
- 29:25Speaker 1: That wasn't that's his actual girlfriend? Yes, but not now then?
- 29:28Speaker 1: I think they're still together. He said they were still
- 29:30Speaker 1: together the last time. They were the track of this relationship,
- 29:32Speaker 1: but I thought it was on again, off again. I
- 29:34Speaker 1: don't know. They're like Ross and Rachel though for real. Yeah, well, anyway,
- 29:37Speaker 1: that woman whose armpits he's smelling is his girlfriend? Anyway? Uh? Ted?
- 29:43Speaker 1: And the fucking blue ink, Yeah was fucking hilarious, where
- 29:47Speaker 1: he's like, am I really a sad sack? And she goes, Ted,
- 29:51Speaker 1: your pen's leaking, and he goes, oh. He takes his
- 29:55Speaker 1: hand off his head and he has the freaking thing
- 29:56Speaker 1: on his head and he looks in his hand. He goes, oh.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Everything involving Ted in this episode is a physical comedy
- 30:04Speaker 1: joke where something gets sprayed all over his body right
- 30:08Speaker 1: them with a watermelon seed and it pops his milk.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Holy shit, fucking JD spits while we learned, Well, it's
- 30:15Speaker 1: pretty much. I think one of the first lines in
- 30:17Speaker 1: the whole show is that Jad's happiest moment was winning
- 30:21Speaker 1: the Watermen watermelon seed spinning contest to theater Camp. So
- 30:25Speaker 1: we know that he does have a secret skill set.
- 30:28Speaker 1: But that's beyond that's that's fucking beyond Olympic level, you know.
- 30:33Speaker 1: I check Scrubs Wiki and it does say there's a
- 30:36Speaker 1: you can if you're one of these people that loves
- 30:38Speaker 1: our fuck ups. It says, it says, what did it say? Um?
- 30:43Speaker 1: When JD spits the watermelon seed to turk, it breaks
- 30:47Speaker 1: Ted's milk, but the can was already leaking before it
- 30:51Speaker 1: hits fucking Scrubs Wiki. Trevor, Sometimes I'm gonna keep it
- 30:57Speaker 1: one hundred Trevor ahead, not snitches, get stitches. Yeah straight, yeah, yeah,
- 31:06Speaker 1: that's what I'm talking about. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I
- 31:09Speaker 1: can say what you want to say about certain things.
- 31:13Speaker 1: But the fact, look, man, don't try and make it
- 31:15Speaker 1: so the illusion goes. You're like the guy. You're like
- 31:20Speaker 1: the guy who tells people how magic tricks are done.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Don't be that guy. Trevor Wicky, Trevor Wicky, this kid,
- 31:29Speaker 1: and we love you, Trevor. All right, um, let's get
- 31:32Speaker 1: into this water balloon fight now. I regret to admit
- 31:35Speaker 1: that JD's impression of Turk in this flashback very racist,
- 31:40Speaker 1: and I'm sorry, but look, it's supposed we address it.
- 31:44Speaker 1: It was meant to be though. Did you laugh though?
- 31:48Speaker 1: I did laugh. Actually I laughed out loud. Actually I
- 31:51Speaker 1: laughed very hard at it. Because I want that one
- 31:54Speaker 1: of our black writers wrote the joke too. I want
- 31:57Speaker 1: to say something else because you then go on to
- 32:00Speaker 1: do a version of me that is a very white impression.
- 32:03Speaker 1: But it's never is it racist when black people do
- 32:06Speaker 1: white people? Joel? Joel just said, it's not. No, It's
- 32:10Speaker 1: like it's like how you're allowed to say hunky. Well,
- 32:13Speaker 1: I don't say that though, I know, but you you you,
- 32:16Speaker 1: you said you said the other week that you never stopped.
- 32:22Speaker 1: I was being funny. That was a good joke. That
- 32:24Speaker 1: was a good joke. By the way, By the way,
- 32:25Speaker 1: that joke was so good that I want you to know.
- 32:27Speaker 1: I told Bill you said that, and he laughed right on. Um.
- 32:33Speaker 1: So anyway, um voice is aside. It's pretty darn funny
- 32:39Speaker 1: that in my recollection. I've got my I got my mullet,
- 32:43Speaker 1: and I'm rocking down the uh hallway right in your right.
- 32:48Speaker 1: You're cool in yours, Yeah, And I'm very cool. And
- 32:53Speaker 1: I walk in and you guys are just lying in bed,
- 33:01Speaker 1: just lying in bed, but you're naked, yes, And then
- 33:04Speaker 1: and and I don't believe you. And I look around.
- 33:06Speaker 1: There's no water balloons. Well in defense. But I hear
- 33:11Speaker 1: before I walk in, I hear um the words. It's
- 33:16Speaker 1: true what they say about black true what they say
- 33:18Speaker 1: about black guys, meaning that you have typically I have
- 33:24Speaker 1: big dick energy. Sorry, sorry, turk has big dick. You
- 33:28Speaker 1: have a girthy shaft. That's the stereotype. And not only
- 33:32Speaker 1: is it girthy, what long? But then no, wait, it
- 33:36Speaker 1: can't be girthy. And then that's possible. Girth and long
- 33:40Speaker 1: like an eel. It's like an eel. In the Bahamas episode,
- 33:42Speaker 1: we learned Jad mistakes it as for an eel. Um,
- 33:48Speaker 1: so it's not really girthy, it's just long. Then girth
- 33:52Speaker 1: eels are like little tiny thing. No, I'll be very thick,
- 33:58Speaker 1: very good. You know what. You're right. I've seen the
- 34:03Speaker 1: notion hel You remember that time we went to Hawaii.
- 34:05Speaker 1: It was me, you and Raiding and Casey who else?
- 34:10Speaker 1: And and right? And we went to Hawaii. We went
- 34:13Speaker 1: right and we went scuba diving next to U the
- 34:17Speaker 1: Arrowsmith dude, Steven Tyler, Stephen Tyler's house, remember that. Yeah,
- 34:21Speaker 1: we got paparazzi and we all looked doey. Yeah, well
- 34:24Speaker 1: I looked doe. You guys look great. I look No,
- 34:26Speaker 1: I looked doe as hell. Well they told me I
- 34:29Speaker 1: needed to work on my abs. Paparazzi eat a dick.
- 34:31Speaker 1: The thing is, um, we were we were scuba diving
- 34:35Speaker 1: and you know I went under water snorkeling. Yeah, sorry,
- 34:39Speaker 1: we were snorkeling and I saw a fucking cel and
- 34:42Speaker 1: that ship was thick and it was scary. It was
- 34:44Speaker 1: scary looking well anyway, that's what JD imagines is happening
- 34:48Speaker 1: in the room now. In Turks version, there they they
- 34:53Speaker 1: when you see me walking down the hole, and I
- 34:56Speaker 1: love how I'm walking the nerdiest your version movie is
- 35:00Speaker 1: such a nerd I love that. That made me laugh
- 35:02Speaker 1: out loud my walk. And then when I say it's
- 35:05Speaker 1: true what they see about black guys, it reveals that
- 35:09Speaker 1: you're spinning a basketball on your finger, which would mean
- 35:14Speaker 1: another stereotype that you're good at basketball. Well, the fact
- 35:19Speaker 1: that Turk is like, how do I fucking turn this around?
- 35:22Speaker 1: And then make j D think that we're not talking
- 35:25Speaker 1: about my penis, we're actually talking about something else. What
- 35:28Speaker 1: would it be that black I got it basketball? Right?
- 35:33Speaker 1: Your lie is so bad? You have water balloon fight
- 35:37Speaker 1: and then she's cold because her clothes are wet, and
- 35:43Speaker 1: is that what it is? Right? And she says, let's
- 35:45Speaker 1: let's gets get onto the cover. She says that, she says,
- 35:49Speaker 1: I'm got a lie in your line. She says, I've
- 35:52Speaker 1: got a great idea. Let's take our clothes off and
- 35:55Speaker 1: get under the covers and cuddle right to keep warm.
- 35:59Speaker 1: And Turk's lie did He doesn't say anything, but they
- 36:02Speaker 1: cut to a shot of turk and he's man like
- 36:04Speaker 1: it did makes sense. I wish we had done more
- 36:09Speaker 1: of this. It's so funny. Yeah, oh absolutely. I mean
- 36:13Speaker 1: the premise of us telling different versions. You know, there's
- 36:17Speaker 1: that famous movie that I saw in film school and
- 36:19Speaker 1: not since, but it's called Raschaman where where the premises
- 36:23Speaker 1: you see like a number of people's different perceptions of
- 36:27Speaker 1: how something went down. And I think that premise with
- 36:32Speaker 1: us in the show is so funny. They should have
- 36:34Speaker 1: used it more because I just think your cartoonish version
- 36:41Speaker 1: of how you Remember Me and my cartoonish version of
- 36:43Speaker 1: How I Remember You? It's funny. Yeah, you did have
- 36:46Speaker 1: a high top fade though, and both of them so
- 36:50Speaker 1: um snoop dogg Resident um get has an albino snake
- 36:55Speaker 1: and he says that his hoes are gonna love it. Yes,
- 36:59Speaker 1: Why there's a pet store owner that we both took
- 37:05Speaker 1: care of and he gives me a goldfish and snoop
- 37:09Speaker 1: Dog Resident a big albiono snake. I didn't know. I
- 37:13Speaker 1: thought we called snoop Dog Resident snoop Dog Resident because
- 37:18Speaker 1: he was looked like snoop Dog. I didn't know he
- 37:21Speaker 1: was a pimp. He's supposed to literally be. If Snoop
- 37:24Speaker 1: Dog was on Scrubs, this would be okay, this is
- 37:28Speaker 1: a good question we've never explored. Does Snoop Dog resident
- 37:32Speaker 1: just lean into the joke and and and say like,
- 37:35Speaker 1: I'm obviously a doctor, I'm a resident at a hospital.
- 37:38Speaker 1: But okay, if you guys want to call me that,
- 37:40Speaker 1: I'll make jokes like yeah, my hose are gonna love this?
- 37:43Speaker 1: Or does he really have hose right? Or is he
- 37:46Speaker 1: like or is he like a straight up p I
- 37:49Speaker 1: MP walks you know has now in later gates. You
- 37:54Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. You know, I like to think
- 37:57Speaker 1: that on the side he hoes walking the track like
- 38:02Speaker 1: he is he doing it like that? I don't know
- 38:04Speaker 1: that he had the time, though, to be a resident
- 38:06Speaker 1: at a hospital and also um run a sex worker business.
- 38:16Speaker 1: The effort right, oh gosh, well, I mean you gotta
- 38:20Speaker 1: keep the you gotta keep you gotta keep your stable
- 38:23Speaker 1: in check one, but then also like how do you
- 38:26Speaker 1: do that? How do you keep the how do you
- 38:28Speaker 1: do that? And then freaking how do you have a
- 38:30Speaker 1: like a vicious side to you? Like that? But then
- 38:32Speaker 1: go and save people's lives in the hospital. Maybe not,
- 38:36Speaker 1: maybe not all pimps are are vicious. Maybe maybe Snoop Dogg.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Resident if he wants his money, he gotta do something
- 38:42Speaker 1: about that, because you know, the minute he stopping, the
- 38:46Speaker 1: minute he started acting like everything's all good, somebody gus,
- 38:50Speaker 1: don't skimming off the top and take that ship from him.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Don't act like don't act like the saying y'all can
- 38:56Speaker 1: act like this isn't a pimping one on one, But
- 38:59Speaker 1: that's one on one, right there? Dog All right, Well,
- 39:01Speaker 1: do you remember the other episode where he said where
- 39:03Speaker 1: ma hoose at? And I said, I haven't seen them.
- 39:05Speaker 1: He's a bad pimp too, then, not only not only right,
- 39:10Speaker 1: he's a horrible pimp. I like to live in a
- 39:13Speaker 1: reality and I'm sure most of the audience does, where
- 39:16Speaker 1: he's an actual pimp. On the side, he is impossible.
- 39:20Speaker 1: He has two career paths. That's what I'm trying to say.
- 39:22Speaker 1: So what is it? What is it exactly? Is he
- 39:25Speaker 1: a true pimp or is he just playing right? I
- 39:30Speaker 1: think it's him. He looked like Snoop Doggs, so we
- 39:32Speaker 1: gave him that and he ran with it. Okay, next
- 39:35Speaker 1: thing is the apparently the Ted, Ted and the janitor
- 39:39Speaker 1: are gonna go clubbing. I guess they club a lot
- 39:42Speaker 1: and and uh, this whole janitor fish thing. I do
- 39:46Speaker 1: you have any ideas on what the hell this is about? Yeah,
- 39:52Speaker 1: I didn't get it. I didn't get it either. Why
- 39:55Speaker 1: he's the janitor seems smart enough to know that he
- 40:00Speaker 1: could just put the fish bowl down right, But he's
- 40:04Speaker 1: mad at himself that he missed an opportunity to fuck
- 40:06Speaker 1: with JD, and so he's gonna torturing him right to wait,
- 40:10Speaker 1: and he's waiting too torture. But but Ted is like,
- 40:17Speaker 1: I need you. I need you on your game tonight
- 40:20Speaker 1: or it's gonna make it so I can't pick up
- 40:22Speaker 1: hot chicks pretty much. So you got to handle this
- 40:26Speaker 1: so you're not thinking about it tonight when we go
- 40:28Speaker 1: to the club. It's too bad it's a bottle episode,
- 40:30Speaker 1: because it would be great to see those two at
- 40:32Speaker 1: the clerb just dancing lasses. A clerb would be great
- 40:37Speaker 1: with those two just sunglasses. They're both wearing sunglasses like Lebron. Okay,
- 40:45Speaker 1: so Kelso says en it's burps smell like pickles and milk. Yes,
- 40:50Speaker 1: that is disgusting. Turk. Finally, so Private Dancer, we don't
- 40:55Speaker 1: know what's going on. It appears he may have attempted suicide.
- 40:58Speaker 1: We don't know because he he didn't get readmitted into
- 41:01Speaker 1: the military, and the military's very important to him and
- 41:05Speaker 1: everyone's and he's calling everyone out on their lies. Well,
- 41:08Speaker 1: and I have heard Turk admits finally that he's a
- 41:13Speaker 1: fucking liar and the water balloon fight did not happen,
- 41:18Speaker 1: and he slept with Stacy. Okay, so this is what
- 41:20Speaker 1: I don't understand. And there's there's two things that happened
- 41:23Speaker 1: that we one we skip that doesn't track, and one
- 41:26Speaker 1: that's in the story that doesn't track. When did Private
- 41:28Speaker 1: Dancer becomes so with it? Like, out of nowhere, this
- 41:32Speaker 1: fucker turns into like he's able to read the room,
- 41:35Speaker 1: he's able to read all of us. And this is
- 41:38Speaker 1: a dude with a brain injury for three episodes before this,
- 41:41Speaker 1: When the fuck did he becomes so fucking with It's
- 41:44Speaker 1: about where he's about to check out. I think we
- 41:46Speaker 1: don't know how long it's been, but or maybe they say,
- 41:48Speaker 1: but he's he's made a lot of problems. He's been
- 41:50Speaker 1: three weeks they said, three weeks. All right, Well, he's
- 41:54Speaker 1: in good shape. He's his brain injury has has settled.
- 41:57Speaker 1: He's gone the right meds or at least bet and
- 42:01Speaker 1: he's able to uh. But but not enough so that he,
- 42:05Speaker 1: you know, not not not healthy enough that he's gonna
- 42:08Speaker 1: be accepted into the military, which is his dream and
- 42:11Speaker 1: his goal. So he has he has an injury though
- 42:14Speaker 1: that's an injury that his injury is stopping him from
- 42:17Speaker 1: doing that. Um and so because of that, he's like, he,
- 42:23Speaker 1: I don't know, do you feel like he Do you
- 42:24Speaker 1: think he committed suicide or do you think it was
- 42:29Speaker 1: I think he probably My interpretation was that he did that.
- 42:34Speaker 1: He did try to take his life. And then Elliott
- 42:37Speaker 1: admits that she tried suicide. It's a heartbreaking moment and
- 42:41Speaker 1: I believe it's the commercial break. And then when she
- 42:43Speaker 1: comes back, Sarah tells the most ridiculous story one has
- 42:50Speaker 1: ever heard of a suicide attempt. Not that anyone should
- 42:53Speaker 1: make light of a suicidemts, but her story is so preposterous.
- 42:57Speaker 1: She decides, I wrote this down because I couldn't believe it.
- 43:02Speaker 1: She can't take her own life by putting her head
- 43:04Speaker 1: in the oven, because when her head gets hot, she
- 43:08Speaker 1: needs to pee and she's and she's not going to
- 43:12Speaker 1: be found passed out in a puddle of her own urine,
- 43:15Speaker 1: not again, not after the prom fiasco. Then she decides
- 43:25Speaker 1: that she's gonna way down in the water in a bikini,
- 43:28Speaker 1: and I think Private Dancer asked her why not the
- 43:31Speaker 1: why a bikini and she says, well, my one piece
- 43:34Speaker 1: was left in Coach Pungetti's car. But that's a story
- 43:39Speaker 1: she's not gonna get into, but it does. It precedes
- 43:44Speaker 1: her walking out in a bikini and she into the
- 43:49Speaker 1: into the lake and she's treading and she's trying to
- 43:53Speaker 1: get tired so that she'll drowned. But she gets hit
- 43:57Speaker 1: in the head by the rowing team four times. Du
- 44:00Speaker 1: um tum. The rowing team uh is practicing and they
- 44:06Speaker 1: don't notice her in her bikini and they nail her
- 44:09Speaker 1: in the head and save her life. Yes, only Sarah
- 44:18Speaker 1: could sell that so funnily that was Did you notice
- 44:20Speaker 1: that your scrubs were two tone? Yeah? I was trying
- 44:23Speaker 1: to shake things up. I think at this point season six,
- 44:28Speaker 1: Carrie Bannett, who are warder designer, We're finally gonna have
- 44:30Speaker 1: on She had made her own scrubs brand and uh,
- 44:35Speaker 1: and then I think she was shaking it up. So yeah,
- 44:39Speaker 1: I got two tone Scrubs on the janitor. Hears fish
- 44:43Speaker 1: voices the janitor and not only here's the hit fish
- 44:46Speaker 1: talking to him in his voice, but then the fish
- 44:49Speaker 1: really and it's a high note. It hits that note
- 44:53Speaker 1: and they did that effect. It looked for Scrubs, the
- 44:56Speaker 1: effects pretty good right on. And then he finds out
- 44:58Speaker 1: the janitor that the fish's name is John Dorsey, which
- 45:01Speaker 1: is a coincidence because that's also Kelso's platoon leader in
- 45:06Speaker 1: the army or something like that. Right right, This was
- 45:08Speaker 1: so weird. It's like the reincarnation of Kelso's war buddy. Yes,
- 45:15Speaker 1: what about when you finally fart and you fart yourself
- 45:17Speaker 1: into Yeah, not only that, far myself into the stratosphere.
- 45:22Speaker 1: When I'm falling, I fart again and get an extra
- 45:27Speaker 1: boost audience. I am so ashamed when Scrubs resorts to
- 45:34Speaker 1: fart jokes, but this one was pretty funny. You and
- 45:39Speaker 1: then and then you land that I go, I could
- 45:40Speaker 1: have ridden you if I had a saddle. Oh, we
- 45:48Speaker 1: skipped over Johnny C dressed like Alice Alice from Not
- 45:54Speaker 1: only did we skip that, we also skipped freaking uh
- 45:58Speaker 1: private dancers say that Jad has a racist impersonation of
- 46:04Speaker 1: black people, and then and then Jady going he'd be
- 46:07Speaker 1: tripping and that's how he went. It's a commercial break.
- 46:12Speaker 1: Oh it's so bad, But Alice out all that makeup
- 46:16Speaker 1: for Johnny c for a very quick, real quick, real
- 46:18Speaker 1: quick um for those of you who too, were too
- 46:22Speaker 1: young the Brady Bunch show. They had a live in Maide,
- 46:26Speaker 1: and she wore a maid's uniform all the time, everywhere
- 46:30Speaker 1: she went, even when she went to visit Sam, her boyfriend,
- 46:33Speaker 1: she still had that. She was always she was always
- 46:37Speaker 1: in that uniform. I guess the Bradies were well off
- 46:40Speaker 1: because they He was an architect, right, motherfucking damn, Yeah,
- 46:43Speaker 1: you're right there. Well up, there's six of them, motherfucking kids. Right,
- 46:47Speaker 1: there's six of them in one house, right in one house,
- 46:51Speaker 1: right in one house. And check this out. Not only that,
- 46:54Speaker 1: only only the young ones share a room. The older
- 46:59Speaker 1: ones at some point get their own ship. Greg had
- 47:02Speaker 1: the attic. I think remember he had the beads or
- 47:06Speaker 1: is that when he moved into it was there. Not
- 47:08Speaker 1: only did they have a house, they had a backyard
- 47:10Speaker 1: with enough space to fucking play a full court game
- 47:14Speaker 1: of bad foot. I mean, I'm sorry, a full game
- 47:16Speaker 1: of football. They could be if they built a sports court,
- 47:19Speaker 1: they could have played tennis. They could have played basketball
- 47:24Speaker 1: out there. In nineteen fifty, whenever the fuck this ship
- 47:27Speaker 1: came out seventy then Motherfucker's was rich. It was nineteen fifty.
- 47:31Speaker 1: It was nineteen seventy, all right, anyway, Yeah, I just
- 47:34Speaker 1: realized that they must been rich because Alice was full time.
- 47:38Speaker 1: She never left. She slept there in the washing had
- 47:41Speaker 1: her own room. I think she slept in the laundry
- 47:43Speaker 1: room and the maids quarters. They had quarters. Yeah, but
- 47:48Speaker 1: I remember, I feel like, and this could be my imagination,
- 47:51Speaker 1: there was an episode where they showed her room and
- 47:54Speaker 1: it was very small, and I felt bad. I remember
- 47:56Speaker 1: as a kid, feeling bad for Alice that she had
- 47:58Speaker 1: to live in that room. Fucked up. But yo, they
- 48:02Speaker 1: let Sam come through. Sam got to come over and
- 48:05Speaker 1: hang out with Alice. Oh my gosh, but they did you?
- 48:08Speaker 1: Did they ever show Alice even when they went to
- 48:10Speaker 1: Did Alice come when they went to like Disneyland? Alice
- 48:14Speaker 1: went with them everywhere, I'm sure of it. She had to.
- 48:17Speaker 1: Did she go to Hawaii when when they don't know
- 48:19Speaker 1: when the spider incident. I'm sure she did. Maybe Sam
- 48:22Speaker 1: came with her. I don't remember it. Jo Well, we
- 48:24Speaker 1: need answers to all these questions. Did Alice go to
- 48:28Speaker 1: Hawaii with the Bradies? And how long was missus Garrett on?
- 48:33Speaker 1: Don't don't, don't, don't refocus you all. I want to
- 48:37Speaker 1: know if if she went over and Missus Garrett, how
- 48:45Speaker 1: long she worked for the Drummons? You mean, yeah, before
- 48:52Speaker 1: she went over to the Facts. Don't know that Alice
- 48:55Speaker 1: works for the Drummonds before she Alice didn't work put
- 48:57Speaker 1: a drummons, freaking missus Missus Garrett? Did I took over
- 49:02Speaker 1: as the as Pearl Pearl took over for the Pearl?
- 49:08Speaker 1: I don't know all I know, right, Joel, you get
- 49:13Speaker 1: on the Alice one, Daniel Danel get over who took
- 49:17Speaker 1: over for Missus Garrett as as Arnold and and and
- 49:21Speaker 1: uh and Willis's baby's nanny. Like there's gonna be our
- 49:29Speaker 1: age to appreciate this. There's so many young people right now.
- 49:32Speaker 1: I have an answer. Ray departed the Facts of Life
- 49:35Speaker 1: after season seven, at which point Chloris Leachman stepped in. Yes,
- 49:39Speaker 1: Garrett's sister Beverly Anne for the last two days. But
- 49:42Speaker 1: that's that's the Facts of Life. Though I'm not talking
- 49:44Speaker 1: about that. I'm talking No, Cloris Leachman became the new No, No,
- 49:47Speaker 1: she wasn't a nanny. That's Facts of Life. Cloris Leachman
- 49:50Speaker 1: was the star of the Facts of Facts of Life
- 49:51Speaker 1: her uh and George Clooney joined the show too at
- 49:55Speaker 1: that time. I'm talking about I'm talking about I'm talking
- 49:58Speaker 1: about different strokes different after missus Garrett left, who was
- 50:02Speaker 1: who was there? Who was Arnold and Willis's nanny? And
- 50:05Speaker 1: then she might had to take care of Sam too
- 50:07Speaker 1: when he came. No, I'm sure they had a different
- 50:11Speaker 1: one because it was the old old lady also, and
- 50:13Speaker 1: then there was the young southern lady Pearl. I don't
- 50:17Speaker 1: remember Pearl. I think wasn't Pearl the big she was
- 50:20Speaker 1: like a big Southern lay who was a man? Oh god, alright,
- 50:26Speaker 1: So after sorry, after Edna Garrett, Yeah, yes, it was
- 50:30Speaker 1: Adelaide brew Baker who was played Adelaide who was played
- 50:33Speaker 1: by Knee dra Voles. And then after Adelaide, who was it?
- 50:36Speaker 1: Who was it? After Adelaide? I know there was a Pearl,
- 50:41Speaker 1: Missus Pearl Am I thinking Missus Pearl third the third
- 50:46Speaker 1: Housekeeper Pearl Gallagher Donald. I think our rewatch show next
- 50:54Speaker 1: should be Different Strokes. Oh, I would watch the Ship
- 50:57Speaker 1: out of Strokes. Pearl Gallagher was played by Mary Joe Catlett.
- 51:02Speaker 1: I think we found our next show. I would want.
- 51:05Speaker 1: I think we finally figured out that we could watch
- 51:07Speaker 1: different Strokes and we could get like Todd Bridges on
- 51:09Speaker 1: the show. Yeah, Tom would come on. Yeah, I mean
- 51:12Speaker 1: that's pretty much it. We could probably get everybody. No,
- 51:14Speaker 1: they're all dead, but no, yeah, yeah, yeah they are. Yeah,
- 51:20Speaker 1: maybe Dudley, Dudley and Todd are the dude who plays
- 51:23Speaker 1: Dudley and the dude to play Todd. I'd only toot
- 51:25Speaker 1: out a lot from that cast. That's sad. Kimberly passed away.
- 51:33Speaker 1: That makes me sad. Alice did Disney, but it was
- 51:37Speaker 1: called King's Island Amusement Park, and she went to Hawaii
- 51:40Speaker 1: where she took hula lessons with the girls. Okay, did
- 51:42Speaker 1: she wear did she surf to she were she might
- 51:46Speaker 1: have surved. I'm watching a clip from the episode, and
- 51:49Speaker 1: while she didn't wear her uniform, she did wear a
- 51:53Speaker 1: very similar like top with the big collar, but it's
- 51:56Speaker 1: like burnt orange. Okay, there's a thank you, Joelle. That's
- 52:00Speaker 1: very good and fast trivia. For those of you who
- 52:03Speaker 1: are wondering. All right, we're gonna take a break and
- 52:05Speaker 1: when we come back, we're have an amazing guest. We'll
- 52:07Speaker 1: be right back. We're back. M all right. Listen, it's
- 52:21Speaker 1: time for our guest. Who do you have for us? Joelle,
- 52:23Speaker 1: Let's see what's coming in? Play the song, Daniel, we
- 52:25Speaker 1: gotta college game. We can talk star watch shows, you know,
- 52:31Speaker 1: like a bota smoke, some jazz, maybe talking about the episode.
- 52:38Speaker 1: So come on, Joe, let's get the show. Ladies and gentlemen,
- 52:44Speaker 1: give it up for Brandon, Brandon Morgan, Stay up, Brandon,
- 52:56Speaker 1: welcome to the program. Wild Thank you, phase On and
- 53:01Speaker 1: DJ Daniel Goodman and Joelle Monique. You know us from
- 53:06Speaker 1: the podcast Fake Doctors, Real Friends. That right. Zach Braff
- 53:11Speaker 1: better known as z Bizzleiz, I'm back in La. I
- 53:16Speaker 1: got all my buttons. If there's any sounds you want
- 53:18Speaker 1: to hear and request any drops, I got every button.
- 53:22Speaker 1: I don't remember. The beauty is when you just drop
- 53:25Speaker 1: him for it. That's what I'm talking about. What you
- 53:28Speaker 1: trying to get into one day, or shoon what you're
- 53:32Speaker 1: trying to do. This motherfucker thinks he's a DJ. Now
- 53:36Speaker 1: you see him, I love it. Next thing you know,
- 53:38Speaker 1: he's gonna have his head tilted to the side and
- 53:40Speaker 1: he's gonna be doing this shit. I wish I could
- 53:42Speaker 1: like Daniel. I wish I knew how to scratch twit
- 53:45Speaker 1: twit twitch Um. You want to know my favorite sound
- 53:50Speaker 1: bite though, Brandon. It's a new one and it hasn't
- 53:54Speaker 1: been fully worked into my system yet, but we got
- 53:57Speaker 1: it here. Whether it'd be taking a poop, whether it
- 54:00Speaker 1: be a finger, whether it be a tongue, whether you know,
- 54:04Speaker 1: everybody likes little ass play. Everybody does. Don't act like
- 54:08Speaker 1: you don't. The only time you don't like ass plate
- 54:10Speaker 1: is with something's going on in the ass area here.
- 54:14Speaker 1: Let's not shock him. Brandon. Do you have a question
- 54:17Speaker 1: for us? How did we find you? Well? We have
- 54:19Speaker 1: we have slow down, Sorry, Brandon? Can you tell them
- 54:21Speaker 1: why you wrote in? Please? Yes? Okay? So the little backstory,
- 54:25Speaker 1: which is why I think Joel blessed me with being here,
- 54:28Speaker 1: is so I've been best friends with my friend Jeff
- 54:31Speaker 1: for eighteen years Scrubs is our favorite show. We live
- 54:34Speaker 1: across the country from one another. And he got me
- 54:38Speaker 1: the keychain. He just held up the keychain merch. By
- 54:41Speaker 1: the way, we don't sell, We barely plug our merch anymore.
- 54:43Speaker 1: But there is a merch store. And he held up
- 54:46Speaker 1: the you can get a turk in the JD keychain
- 54:48Speaker 1: and hold them together ahead, Sorry, brand, they're lovely. But yeah,
- 54:52Speaker 1: so we live across the country from one another. Now
- 54:55Speaker 1: and so ever since high school, Scrubs is our favorite show.
- 54:59Speaker 1: Obviously hence them, and ever since high school. We're an
- 55:02Speaker 1: interracial duo ourselves, so we always said that we're like
- 55:04Speaker 1: Turk and j D. Now cut to ten years later,
- 55:08Speaker 1: he's about to graduate med school to become a doctor
- 55:11Speaker 1: because of Scrubs. Wow wow, and I just got engaged
- 55:15Speaker 1: to a Latina nurse. Oh my god, Wow, you are
- 55:19Speaker 1: fulfilling the prophecy. You know, when he called me Turk
- 55:23Speaker 1: in high school, I didn't see it. But now, wait,
- 55:28Speaker 1: because you're an interracial friendship and you're white, that would
- 55:31Speaker 1: mean that he's the black guy. Well he's Filipino. Pipino. Yeah, all,
- 55:36Speaker 1: I'm just putting it all together, right, Filipino guys playing
- 55:40Speaker 1: in this world, the Filipino guys playing JD and the
- 55:43Speaker 1: white guy plays Turk. Okay, exactly this world, I'm it
- 55:47Speaker 1: and no in this you met it. You always talk
- 55:49Speaker 1: about what do you call it? Meta universe in the metaverse.
- 55:53Speaker 1: In this metaverse, yes, the white guy is is the
- 55:58Speaker 1: sidekick all right in Hollywood and some metaverse in some
- 56:03Speaker 1: universes Hollywood, the white guy is the sidekick scrubs. Um,
- 56:09Speaker 1: you know, and what if the Scrubs concept for the
- 56:12Speaker 1: for whatever We're gonna do is a metaverse thing. Donald,
- 56:15Speaker 1: that's hilarious. And there's different versions of us, that's great.
- 56:19Speaker 1: And then there's the dule version of me. Yeah, and
- 56:22Speaker 1: that other kid James can play me, right, and then
- 56:27Speaker 1: we could have somebody and then we could like we
- 56:28Speaker 1: could go through all of the freaking romances. There could
- 56:31Speaker 1: be a version where Ben Affleck is me and you're
- 56:34Speaker 1: Matt Damon. That could be a version. He may be
- 56:36Speaker 1: hard to get, really, do you think so that we
- 56:39Speaker 1: can try? All right? Brandon, what's your question for the
- 56:44Speaker 1: finish up? Uh? So, Ever since I first heard the
- 56:47Speaker 1: first episode of the podcast, I knew you guys were
- 56:49Speaker 1: taking guests. Even before I planned on proposing to my
- 56:52Speaker 1: girlfriend or fiance. Now I knew that when I did it,
- 56:57Speaker 1: I would use this podcast to ask have you guys
- 57:01Speaker 1: asked my best friend Jeff to be my best man
- 57:04Speaker 1: at my wedding? Oh, Jeff, Jeff, are you listening to
- 57:11Speaker 1: this podcast? Jeff in the waiting rate? Now you know
- 57:15Speaker 1: you're engaged? I did. I was gonna surprise him with
- 57:18Speaker 1: even the engagement, but I blew that because I leading up,
- 57:22Speaker 1: I was complaining him. Bring him in, bring him in,
- 57:24Speaker 1: bring him don't blow his string, don't you? Jeffrey, Jeff,
- 57:42Speaker 1: your name is Jeff, Paul Jeffrey. Yeah, my name is
- 57:44Speaker 1: Paul Jeffrey. Oh so it's not Jeff Paul Jeffrey started,
- 57:49Speaker 1: But you go, Jeff started, I go. Um, Jeff was
- 57:52Speaker 1: my nickname and uh when I was growing up. Okay,
- 57:56Speaker 1: but but your name is Paul Jeffrey. My legal name
- 57:59Speaker 1: is Ill. Oh yeah, Paul Jeffrey. All right, welcome to
- 58:02Speaker 1: the show. Jeffrey Graham. My friend, Um, that's Donald Phazon.
- 58:06Speaker 1: You know him better as Oh. Well, we're just regular guys.
- 58:16Speaker 1: There's my dog walking behind us. We're just regular folks.
- 58:19Speaker 1: There's a lamp that um from the movie Wish I
- 58:22Speaker 1: was here, sees how it's swear jarre is Mark Mark,
- 58:26Speaker 1: my assistant took the swear jar and made it into
- 58:28Speaker 1: a lamp. Is there real money in that shit? It's
- 58:31Speaker 1: not real money? Donald, Why don't I come over and
- 58:33Speaker 1: take some money out of my swear jar? It would
- 58:35Speaker 1: be kind of cool if you could freaking have a
- 58:37Speaker 1: light that was also a piggy bank. Well, it's prop money,
- 58:41Speaker 1: it's not real money. But I think do you guys
- 58:43Speaker 1: know that I will redecorating. I got the trunk here
- 58:46Speaker 1: and nobody cares. Um. Paul jeff you're here for a
- 58:51Speaker 1: very important reason, because Brandon has organized it not only
- 58:56Speaker 1: for you guys to be on the show, but for
- 58:59Speaker 1: to give Donald and I the honor of asking you
- 59:03Speaker 1: a question. Donald, how do you want to do this? Okay?
- 59:07Speaker 1: Paul Jeffrey, Jeff, Paul Jeffrey, you have been a friend
- 59:12Speaker 1: to Brandon for a really long time. Yeah, very very
- 59:16Speaker 1: specially as you know, he has loved you like Turk
- 59:24Speaker 1: has loved j D. As a matter of fact, he
- 59:27Speaker 1: pref he started off the show by saying, you know,
- 59:32Speaker 1: I'm Turk to his JD. Pretty much. Yes, he said
- 59:35Speaker 1: even further than that. He's had a sex dream or
- 59:38Speaker 1: two about you. Um, he said, he said it didn't
- 59:43Speaker 1: go as far as he wanted it to go. He said,
- 59:47Speaker 1: you never do. He said, yeah, he said he didn't dock.
- 59:50Speaker 1: But there might have been a little finger player. You guys,
- 59:56Speaker 1: you guys held hands, that might have been but in
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: he was right, But that right, that doesn't matter, That
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: doesn't matter. He was also like, but I'm also engaged
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: to be married, and I can't dishonor her. And I
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: write and the things and the things that I do
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: in the dreams I can't do and I don't need
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: She doesn't need to know what happens in my dreams.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: But if Paul, if jeff Paul Jeffrey would do me
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: the honors saying on my big special day and saying
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: yes to being my Brandon, I'm speaking in as if
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: I'm him best man, I would love it. Jeff Paul Jeffrey,
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Paul Jeffrey, do you agree? Are you willing to be
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Brandon's best man? You know the answer is always obvious.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: Oh well, Brandon, we tried. We need these Donald zat Yes, yes,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: he said, yes, yes, Why I mean banding, Yeah, look
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: at you with the length man, here's your thunderous applause,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: here's this and here's this. Zach not here. No no, no,
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: no no no, don't do that all right? Sorry, sorry,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: Paul jeff Paul Jeffrey. Are you excited? Yeah, definitely. When
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: he told me about this, like meet him on Zoom,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: I was like, this is a lot of the outticks.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: We're just asking me to be his best man. DeAndre, Well,
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: I want you to note that's so much he cares
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: about you as his friend. He went, he went all out.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Did you hear the story of the dreams? Did you
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: not hear? There's a lot of love behind listening? He
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: stalked Joel. He stalked Joel. You're very important to him,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: your best friend and uh and he loves you. And
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: you better have a good speech, dude, because we've given
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: you a lot of material today. And where where do
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: you guys live? I'm from Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Oh
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: I'm in La now Okay, you moved out to La La? Yeah?
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: Would you move on to La for Brandon to be
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: a comedy writer? Funny, nice wedding going to be We're
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: probably gonna do it in Vegas just to make everyone travel.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: Oh okay, shit, Donalds will come, Donalds will come. No,
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: I don't do Vegas. No more. Be really no disrespect, Brandon.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: It's gonna be a lovely Dan. I'm sure you're gonna
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: love it, but I ain't gonna be at your wedding man.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: Especially now when you guys have a bachelor party, will
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: you go to gentleman's establishments? I well, I don't think
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: Jeff would fly out for that, But also I don't
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: think my fiance would like that either. Yeah, she probably
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: wouldn't like that. But if you do ask for cinnamon,
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: she is cinnamon at the spearmen, right, Yeah, I don't
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: think you should go to jail. And if not, and
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: if you if you're not going in and you go
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: to O G's, ask for glitter. She oh, geez glitter.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: All right, guys, do you have a question, Um, we're
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: here to answer your question. Or if you don't, maybe
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: that was just it. That's maybe that was just the thing.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: If that was it, that's cool too. We can fix
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: your life whatever you need. Yeah, I actually do have
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: one foot question. You guys don't mind? Go ahead? So,
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: when you guys were first starting off in Scrubs, you
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: were sort of like in a young professional role, sort
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: of skating um into everything. We had your mentors like
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: doctor Cox, doctor Wynn. I was wondering, like, were there
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: any lessons that you're characters had learned at that point.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: That's sort of like you were able to apply to
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: your own real life, like the Russian you needed in
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: your own real lives. You know, all the lessons that
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: I learned from Scrubs, I learned way too late. And
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: you know, I'm a professional now. When we were making
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: this show, I was not a professional. I was very
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: much a goofball And you know, if you listen to
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: the if you listen to the podcast, you know that
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: there were many a days where I came in unprepared
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: or you know, a kneebriated or whatever, what have you.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: And those days are over. Turk realized way before I
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: did how to be a professional. And the lessons that
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: I learned. The way I learned to become a professional
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: was when Scrubs was gone and I didn't have a job,
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: and it was like, oh shit, I kind of fucked
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: around for a bit and I hope that didn't travel
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: with me into the next into the next world and
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: if anything nowadays, if I'm like any character on set
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: when I'm working as like in real life, to the
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: crew and everything like that, I'm like Turk. I'm very professional,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: but I do know how. I do know how to
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: have a good time. Do you understand what I'm saying?
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: I would if I took anything from him, it would
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: be that I would say, UM, definitely learned. You know,
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: for me of filmmaking, it was it was I wanted
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: to be. I wanted to make movies and it was
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: the best education. I wouldn't say necessarily from the characters, UM,
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: but I learned um. You know, Scrubs was the best
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: film school ever. You know, how to how to execute
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: something very elaborate, UM, very fast. Often that was written
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: sometimes that day or a few days before. Um. So
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: it was really it was like the best film school
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: you could have had. UM. So I learned so much
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: that informed um the way I work. And also from Bill,
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: who's you know to this day is an amazing mentor. Um.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: The guy has so much on his plate. He's he's
- 1:06:14Speaker 1: running three TV shows right now, uh so, which which
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: is just not even humanly possible, but he's doing it
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: and so I just I learned a lot from from
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: from Bill and from from any any other questions or
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: do you need to fix your life? I had a
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: question that I thought of just because of how easy,
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: well not how easy it was, but I guess I
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: thought there would be a screening process for me before
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: I got here. So I was just wondering if you
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: had any like truly crazy people come on the podcast
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: and you're like, well, can't release that. No, that would
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: be really interesting to to But I we assume that
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: Joel was screening people. To be honest, I didn't call
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: me out. There's absolutely a screening process, but this far
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: in when you get a letter is detailed as Brandon's, like,
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: it's not really a second thought. Sometimes people have like
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: just questions that are good, so I call them like, hey,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: can you talk? Is your internet good? You sound good?
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: It's fine, great whatever, Um, But no, Brandon's letter was
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: so good. We've talked and communicated regularly, so I wasn't
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: worried about like a timing situation. So you just checked
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: all the boxes off, Earli. We just want to make
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: sure I that to happen. First of all, we like
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: we'd like some crazy people and just one time. Because
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: it's so easy to so happens. I'm going to remind you,
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: guys that you said so easy to kick it's so
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: easy to kick him out. It's so easy to kick
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: him out of zoom if they are if they go
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: too far and stuff like that, that's an easy thing
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: to do. Am I correct room yea, they're gone. What
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: worse is when they're uninteresting. And we've had a couple
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: of people that were a bit snory and we trimmed
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: them down. DJ Daniel works his magic quite a bit.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: We've got people come on that didn't really want to,
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: like we didn't know how they got on show, Like
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: it was like what are you doing? Yeah, what are
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: you doing on it? What are you doing on here? Like?
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: But you should say, we should take the time to
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: remind people that if you do want to be on
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: the show and you haven't been told in a long time, Joelle,
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: tell them how you get on the show, or at
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: least try to get on the show. Yes, you're gonna
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: write us a message to Scrubs iHeart at gmail dot com.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Tell us a little bit about your a little bit.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: I can't read story you guys. She's a busy revity,
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: it's really important. Come with your great questions. You're incredible
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: never before heard stories. If we've asked for stories, you know,
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: I might pull another funeral story. We don't need more
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: penis doctors. I just thought, how we have and doc,
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: we're good. Yeah, we're probably good. With that couple who
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: have an open relationship, we've done them already. I'm not
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: gonna lie, man. I've been waiting for somebody to call
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: in and it open up and it just be like
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: just some freak show going nuts on the other side.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: I've been waiting for that. I would know what I
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: would like. Someone who's bad shit. Um, I think it
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: would be good good radio. Oh boy, just like well, no,
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: lett be careful, let's be careful. Well, let's be just
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: a little careful what we wish for. I don't know
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: about bat shit, but maybe like maybe maybe catch shit,
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: maybe something a little a little less. I don't know. Man,
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: if you're filing getting the emails, all right, Well, we
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: don't need to fix your life, I guess because we
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: proposed um, and this guy's life's going pretty darn well
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: because he's gonna marry the woman of his dreams. What's
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: her name, Bro Jessica Jessica's engagina Jessica Jessica. I can't
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: wait to hear about your Vegas wedding. I can't wait
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: wedding and maybe and maybe, uh, Jeff will consider, um,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: you know, dressing up like Elvis and um going to
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: Vegas and partying like a rock star. We can pull
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: it off. We'll see. Donald will be there. Donald will
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: not be there. Donald doesn't go to Vegas anymore. I'm
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: sure there's a wedding fee. There must be some fee
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: that you'll attend the wedding like a cameo. Yeah, it
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: doesn't seem like it. Maybe a cameo message. There you go. Listen, listen,
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: take cameo out of this whole situation, Brandon. I just
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: fucking proposed to Jeff Jeffrey for are you okay? True?
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: All right, let's fucking not get greedy guys, all right, true?
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: All right? Um, that's the show, everybody, thank you for
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: for two. I just want to say one thing, last
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: thing we said we were going to get to this
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: Elliott at the end gave this man a reason to
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: live by kissing him right on his lips. Yeah, and
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: that was a great thing. That she did for him.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: I don't know about necessarily having to kiss him, but
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: she gave him hope at the end. Right. But then
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: then the camera pushes in and she has a little
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: bit of a curious look on her face, like, am
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: I attracted to private dancer? No way? Yes? Watch she
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: knew exactly you agree with I was like, what is
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: this pushing for it? I didn't understand. I can't understand.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: I thought the push, I thought, okay, So I looked
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: at it as the pushing, as was her moment of
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: she had. I don't know, man, shit, fuck, I don't know, man,
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: because it's clear she let it go a long time ago.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: She let the suicide situation go a long time ago,
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: and she was over it. So we're clear on that.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: So yeah, what is the what was the motivation for
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: the pushing? I wonder I'm telling you that the first
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: beat was he says, with someone like you ever be
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: interested in me? And she does exactly what you said.
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: She gives them hope. She flirts with him a little bit,
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: and then she, even though she has a boyfriend, she
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: goes as far as to give him a little sweet,
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: innocent kiss on the lips and you're right. She gave
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: him hope. And then and then he gets off on
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: a cab. The cab pulls off, and then the camera
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: takes its time and pushes in on Elliott, and she
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: has a look on her face like as if to say, like,
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: I don't know was that that was? There were sparks?
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: Am I attracted to Private Dancer? Are we setting up
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: Private Dancer coming back again in season seven? I don't know.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: I thought that Joel did too. I didn't see that,
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: but hey man, you know, you never know. You never
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: know what all art is up for interpretation. It's like
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: when you watch one of your Marvel movies. Some people
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: like him, some people don't. Everything the question Brandon, you
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: see Doctor Strange? Yes? What'd you think? I thought it
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: was good. I thought it was better than what a
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: lot of people were saying about it. Did you think
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: it was better than Spider Man? No? Okay, Jeffrey, Paul Jeffrey,
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: did you see Doctor Strange? I haven't got a chance
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: to see it yet. Go see it, Jeffrey, Paul Jeffrey.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: Did you see the latest Spider Man? Yeah? I did
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: see that one. Well. On my airplane. I made it
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: to the part where they got They went into the
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: snow east um doctor Strange's house, so that part was
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: good introduction. Yea almost. I have a bunch of questions. Well,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: we gotta go. Brother's been a long show. We love
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: you all. Um. Are you gonna watch Obi Wan Brandon
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: because I'm gonna watch it absolutely? When does Obi one premiere? Joel,
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: you must know, Yes, the last Friday in May. And
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: I'm really for you. It's a double header episode that
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: made it's gonna be like two hours of Star Wars,
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: maybe two hours of Please, Dear Star Wars. I'm gonna
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: just write an open letter to Star Wars before we leave.
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: It's dear Star Wars, Obi Wan Kenobi, please don't make
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: these episodes shorter than one hour. Leave it at that.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: Leave it at that. We know they're made by Debrah
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Chow who's an artiste, and so we know they'll be
