- 1:03weeks, we'll officially be on the air four

- 1:06Wow, a big round of applause there, I
- 1:08know.

- 1:10really excited about that.
- 1:12Lots to come in 2025, including an automated
- 1:15AI system to vet our guests and schedules.
- 1:18So we're really excited about that.
- 1:20And that's coming up probably around Q2 of
- 1:232026.
- 1:24So again, welcome everyone to the show.
- 1:26Thank you so much for being here.
- 1:27It means so much to have you here
- 1:28with me on the show.
- 1:31And I think we'll probably just get right
- 1:33into it because I've got so much to
- 1:35share with you.
- 1:36And I know that you're definitely going to,
- 1:39how can I say, appreciate what I've got.
- 1:41So let's kick this off.
- 1:43So you're tuned into the ever popular, yes,
- 1:46powerful show of Inspirations for Your Life.
- 1:52It's the daily, guys, it's the daily motivational
- 1:55show.
- 1:56And a lot of people, when you think
- 1:58about motivation, I think sometimes they just get
- 2:02a little bit confused.
- 2:04They're not really sure why things are working
- 2:06a certain way or why they're doing something.
- 2:09But the thing is, when we think about
- 2:13motivation and we think about the fact that
- 2:18what I do here, which is I help
- 2:20you think, I help you become stronger, I
- 2:23help you lead and help you own your
- 2:25life on purpose.
- 2:26By the way, this is John Seymour, serial
- 2:28entrepreneur.
- 2:30I'm an engineer, I'm a marketing specialist, I'm
- 2:32a video producer, podcast host, coach, graduate student,
- 2:35and yes, guys, a passionate lifelong learner.
- 2:38And it is my privilege and pleasure to
- 2:40be here with you as someone who has
- 2:41spent years building businesses, creating content and coaching
- 2:46people just like you to turn everyday moments
- 2:50into real impact.
- 2:51Are you ready?
- 2:52So today we are getting into a very
- 2:56important point.
- 2:59And I think some of these points, sometimes
- 3:02people don't necessarily get what these points stand
- 3:06for, but I'm here to shed some light
- 3:08on them and let you know that there
- 3:12is so much more that you guys can
- 3:15do.
- 3:16I mean, I think believing is a huge,
- 3:20huge thing.
- 3:22That a lot of people don't get.
- 3:24Belief is a big thing, right?
- 3:27And a lot of people around you sometimes
- 3:31feel that what they're doing is not possible.
- 3:36Sometimes people get frustrated because of what's happening.
- 3:42And I know, guys, how this can affect
- 3:45people.
- 3:46I know that you're on this path and
- 3:48sometimes you don't get where you wanna be
- 3:50because of some obstacle in the road.
- 3:52But I wanna tell you that it's that
- 3:54obstacle in the road that actually is gonna
- 3:56help you achieve your success.
- 3:58Yes, guys, achieving your success, that's what we're
- 4:02all about.
- 4:04And so when we think about success or
- 4:07we think about what success, a success could
- 4:09be fame, it could be money, it could
- 4:11be some people, it could be power, right?
- 4:16So there's a lot to this.
- 4:19And I think just starting to understand who
- 4:21you are and how you operate and what
- 4:24you bring to the world, I think that's
- 4:26a very important thing for a lot of
- 4:29us to start realizing, starting to understand because
- 4:34this is what it's about, guys.
- 4:36This is all what it's about.
- 4:39And I know sometimes we get thrown off
- 4:42our rocker, right?
- 4:43And so this is really, really important because
- 4:46it's our belief that creates our reality.
- 4:49And again, we have a powerful week here
- 4:52coming up for the Inspirations for Your Show.
- 4:55It's the Daily Motivational Show.
- 4:57It helps you think, of course, as we
- 4:59said, but it helps you become very, very
- 5:02wise.
- 5:04And I think being wise is something that
- 5:06a lot of people, sometimes they miss the
- 5:09boat on feeling wise, right?
- 5:11I think that happens because they're basically trying
- 5:17to achieve something.
- 5:18And then for whatever reason, they don't achieve
- 5:20it because of something somebody else says.
- 5:24And so thinking about all of this, right,
- 5:27can be a little challenging.
- 5:30And so I like to encourage you to
- 5:33do some very powerful things.
- 5:37And they all start with one concept.
- 5:42The concept, as you all, in case you
- 5:43didn't know, it is belief.
- 5:46Yeah, it is belief.
- 5:49And belief is that magic sauce that can
- 5:52transform us from someone that's trying to do
- 5:56something to someone that has done amazing and
- 5:59has succeeded so well.
- 6:01But there are gonna be some pitfalls along
- 6:04the way.
- 6:05I mean, unfortunately, guys, that is just one
- 6:09of the caveats of life.
- 6:11And so when we think about this and
- 6:13we think about what's happening and we think
- 6:16about where we're going and how this can
- 6:19pace, I think it's a very important thing
- 6:24to definitely understand.
- 6:27How do you show up in the world
- 6:28for people?
- 6:29Do you say one thing or do you
- 6:32say something else?
- 6:33Do you really stick to what you mean?
- 6:37Or are you about something that's not really
- 6:41clear?
- 6:43Okay?
- 6:45So I think what I wanna share with
- 6:47you today is the first point, which is
- 6:48to treat every interaction like it matters.
- 6:52Okay?
- 6:54Like it matters.
- 6:57And that's important, guys.
- 7:02Understanding things, how they matter and what they
- 7:05do in our lives, I think that can
- 7:07really give us, how can I say?
- 7:11It can give us a kind of like
- 7:15a launch pad of where we're at.
- 7:18And so sometimes we don't necessarily get like
- 7:26all the directions.
- 7:27Okay?
- 7:28So I wanna tell you that you're smarter
- 7:32than you actually believe you are.
- 7:35Okay?
- 7:36I know you're probably saying to John, like,
- 7:37you know, I don't get that, but I
- 7:40wanna tell you this because I think some
- 7:42people, okay, some people out there just don't
- 7:45really get, they don't get the point.
- 7:52And that's a very crazy thing to understand
- 7:57is that when people don't get that point,
- 8:00it's like they don't necessarily know where they
- 8:02wanna go.
- 8:03They don't know what they wanna do, but
- 8:06all they know is that they wanna achieve
- 8:09greatness in life.
- 8:11Right?
- 8:11They wanna achieve that greatness, but for whatever
- 8:13reason, they don't achieve it.
- 8:17And that can frustrate a lot of people,
- 8:20you know, to say that this is one
- 8:22thing and that I'm here, but then I'm
- 8:24not achieving what I want.
- 8:25It's not because you can't, guys.
- 8:30It's because of a belief.
- 8:32Okay?
- 8:33And all of our episodes here are very
- 8:34powerful.
- 8:36And you know, whether we're talking about something
- 8:38that is a trivial fact, whether we're talking
- 8:42about something that has major impact, approaching things,
- 8:48having new knowledge is what gives us the
- 8:51ability to rise.
- 8:54Guys, I'm here to bring you authentic, practical,
- 8:57and heartfelt inspiration that helps you see the
- 9:01light, even when, well, the world around you
- 9:03feels a little dim.
- 9:07Today, we're diving into something deeply human.
- 9:10What to do when life feels heavy?
- 9:13I know what happens.
- 9:14And how to find small sparks that remind
- 9:17you hope still exists.
- 9:20So as I said, grab that favorite drink,
- 9:23take a deep breath, and let's walk together
- 9:26into the light one gentle moment at a
- 9:29time.
- 9:29You ready?
- 9:30Number one, if this season with the holidays
- 9:33is feeling, well, a bit heavy, you're not
- 9:36alone.
- 9:37Nothing is wrong with you.
- 9:38Let's start right there, okay?
- 9:40Because too often, we think heaviness means something's
- 9:44broken within us.
- 9:46But the truth is, when things feel heavy,
- 9:49it's a sign that you've been carrying a
- 9:51lot.
- 9:52You're processing, adapting, surviving.
- 9:56That isn't weakness, guys.
- 9:58That's strength.
- 9:59The first step to light is acknowledging that
- 10:02you're human, not a machine.
- 10:06And I think sometimes that can be hard
- 10:09to grasp.
- 10:11So ladies and gentlemen, please give yourself credit
- 10:13for showing up.
- 10:15That's one of the hardest things to do
- 10:16in this world, is to keep showing up
- 10:18consistently.
- 10:19Number two, you don't need a good day.
- 10:23You just need one gentle moment.
- 10:25Forget the pressure of constant happiness.
- 10:28Life isn't measured in perfect days.
- 10:30It's measured in moments that make you breathe
- 10:33easier.
- 10:34Maybe it's the smell of coffee, your favorite
- 10:37song, or stepping outside for a minute of
- 10:40quiet.
- 10:41One soft, kind moment can change the rhythm
- 10:45of your entire day.
- 10:48Number three, let's normalize answering, okay?
- 10:54How are you, with something real?
- 10:57We all say, I'm fine, even when we're
- 11:00not.
- 11:01Let's break that habit.
- 11:03When someone asks how you are, try giving
- 11:06an honest answer like, it's been a long
- 11:08week, but I'm still going well.
- 11:11Authentic connections start when we drop the mask
- 11:15and let someone actually see us for who
- 11:18we are.
- 11:19Number four, you're allowed to make your own
- 11:23traditions from scratch, yeah, that's right.
- 11:27The season often comes wrapped in expectations, but
- 11:29you're free to start your own story anytime.
- 11:33Maybe it's movie night with friends or taking
- 11:35a walk under the stars.
- 11:37Traditions are about meaning, not rules.
- 11:41Create yours with true intention and joy.
- 11:45Number five, guys, three tiny rituals that make
- 11:49dark evenings less brutal.
- 11:51Light a candle, play one soft song that
- 11:54lifts your spirit.
- 11:56Write a single line in a gratitude journal.
- 11:59Not a list, just one good thing.
- 12:01These may seem small, but they're symbolic lights,
- 12:05steady reminders that you have the power to
- 12:09brighten even the darkest corners of your mind.
- 12:13Number six, guys, your room lighting is messing
- 12:17with your mood.
- 12:18So fix it.
- 12:19In five minutes, this might surprise you, but
- 12:21lighting shapes emotions.
- 12:25Harsh, cold lighting can amplify stress or sadness.
- 12:30Try adding a warm tone lamp or dimmer
- 12:32bulbs.
- 12:33Your environment can literally shift your mindset comfort.
- 12:38Your eyes and your heart will follow.
- 12:41A while back, I had gotten one of
- 12:42these professional lights for our studio.
- 12:44And not only can we change the brightness,
- 12:48we can actually change the warmth.
- 12:50So whether it's gonna be tungsten or whether
- 12:53it's daylight, and you get a completely different
- 12:56feeling depending on that light setting.
- 12:59Number seven, you can be grateful and still
- 13:02tired, but can be true.
- 13:06Gratitude doesn't erase exhaustion.
- 13:08You can appreciate life's blessings and still feel
- 13:11drained when you accept that both emotions can
- 13:15exist, coexist, I should say.
- 13:17You release the guilt of not being positive
- 13:20enough.
- 13:21It's okay to be grateful and human.
- 13:24Number eight, if your feed makes you feel
- 13:26behind, curate one soft landing account.
- 13:30Social media can steal our light if we're
- 13:33not careful.
- 13:34Follow creators who inspire you to be calm,
- 13:37not competition.
- 13:39Build a feed that feels like a breath
- 13:41of fresh air because your digital world influences
- 13:44your inner one.
- 13:46And I think that's one that a lot
- 13:47of people don't realize.
- 13:48Our digital life is shaping our real life.
- 13:52Number nine, your younger self would be shocked
- 13:55you made it this far, in a good
- 13:57way.
- 13:58Think of everything you've been through, the challenges
- 14:01you once didn't think you'd survive.
- 14:05You did.
- 14:06Your younger self would be proud, amazed, and
- 14:09relieved that you're still carrying forward.
- 14:13Now honor that and progress by believing in
- 14:17what's next.
- 14:19You just started writing your journey and your
- 14:21story and you could change, you can evolve.
- 14:25Remember, you're the director of it.
- 14:27Do anything you want.
- 14:29Number 10, guys, you don't have to cheer
- 14:31up.
- 14:32You just have to show up for yourself.
- 14:34You're not obligated to fake smiles or forced
- 14:36joy.
- 14:37Showing up, brushing your teeth, making your bed,
- 14:41or simply breathing through the moment is enough.
- 14:45Real strength is consistency, not constant cheer.
- 14:50So let these ideas guide you through.
- 14:54Remember, your light doesn't need to blind the
- 14:59darkness.
- 15:01It just needs to exist.
- 15:04And I think sometimes we get so heavy.
- 15:10I'll give you a perfect example.
- 15:11So before I was getting on the plane,
- 15:14just less than 24 hours ago, there was
- 15:17a lot that had to get done.
- 15:19I'm gonna say probably 20 things within two
- 15:22days.
- 15:23And that was a lot.
- 15:25I got them all done.
- 15:27I took a breath.
- 15:28I did my very best.
- 15:30And I came through.
- 15:31Now, when I got to Florida, I was
- 15:33extremely tired, not to lie about that.
- 15:37And went to bed, got up in the
- 15:39morning.
- 15:40I think it was around 10, 10, 15.
- 15:43Had breakfast.
- 15:44And then after that, I took a shower
- 15:47and got dressed.
- 15:49And then I sat on the couch and
- 15:52I just closed my eyes to relax for
- 15:53a little bit to the music.
- 15:54And before I knew it, I was actually
- 15:56off to dreamland because my body needed a
- 15:59break.
- 16:02Being heavy is not wrong.
- 16:06Being heavy allows us to sense the moment
- 16:09that we're in.
- 16:12A lot of people I know avoid the
- 16:14heavy moments because they don't necessarily want to
- 16:17be part of a heavy situation.
- 16:19They don't want to feel a certain way.
- 16:23But I'm here to tell you that our
- 16:25feeling is what life is about.
- 16:27We're here to create moments, to enjoy them,
- 16:31to be challenged.
- 16:35We're here in this universe to be able
- 16:40to take those heavy moments and to soften
- 16:44them.
- 16:46Soften them with ways of being kind and
- 16:50compassionate to ourselves.
- 16:52That could be little things from rewarding ourselves
- 16:55with a longer shower, a bath, going to
- 16:59see a movie.
- 17:00These are the things that can help us
- 17:05go from point A to point B or
- 17:07point Z.
- 17:10Think of it like a railroad track.
- 17:15You start at one end and you get
- 17:16to the other.
- 17:17Now, this reminds me of a great story
- 17:19of the book.
- 17:20You might know the book.
- 17:21It was called, it was The Little Engine
- 17:23That Could.
- 17:23You remember that book?
- 17:24Yes, The Little Engine That Could.
- 17:28And it was entitled, I Think I Can.
- 17:32And this was a quite a remarkable book,
- 17:35child's tale.
- 17:38And so The Little Engine That Could is
- 17:40a classic children's story.
- 17:42It first was published in 1930 by Platt
- 17:44and Monk featuring a determined little blue engine
- 17:47with the famous mantra, I think I can,
- 17:49I think I can.
- 17:51And as she pulls a train of toys
- 17:52and food over a mountain for children in
- 17:54need, teaching lessons about optimism and perseverance.
- 17:58It's available in many editions, including the original
- 18:01anniversary edition and versions with different illustrations by
- 18:05Waddy Piper, a pen name for Arnold Monk.
- 18:09And so the first time I think I
- 18:11saw this was many years ago, it was
- 18:13actually on channel 13.
- 18:16And the core message of the book, the
- 18:20story is determination, positive thinking and helping others.
- 18:25The famous quote is, I think I can,
- 18:27I think I can, I think I can.
- 18:29The plot is a train full of toys
- 18:32breaks down and the other larger engines refuse
- 18:35to help.
- 18:37But a small engine agrees to try repeating
- 18:40her mantra as she slowly pulls it over
- 18:42the mountain.
- 18:43The legacy and enduring symbol of achieving goals
- 18:47through a growth mindset and perseverance.
- 18:52I think when we hear stories like this,
- 18:57it inspires us to, I'm gonna say dig
- 19:01deeper to maybe come up with another way
- 19:05to live, right?
- 19:07Maybe that's what it's about, maybe.
- 19:10Maybe it's about where we are in life.
- 19:14Maybe it's about how life is treating us
- 19:18or where life is sending us.
- 19:22Is it up a mountain?
- 19:24Is it around a mountain?
- 19:28Is it down a mountain?
- 19:31I think when we feel heavy, many people
- 19:34I've known, friends of mine, younger and older,
- 19:37they walk away from these challenges because they
- 19:40figure, oh, you know what?
- 19:40I'm either too young or I'm too old
- 19:42or I'm too this or I'm too that.
- 19:44And I don't have, or I don't have
- 19:47time for challenges.
- 19:50Well, see, it's the challenge that sets us
- 19:55up to become better versions of ourselves.
- 20:00It's not something we just do overnight.
- 20:05We're not gonna master this skill.
- 20:10Whether we're thinking about the I think I
- 20:13can engine, another one that kind of comes
- 20:16to mind is a very, an interesting one,
- 20:18the plot of Starlight Express.
- 20:25So Starlight Express is about Rusty, a young
- 20:28obsolete steam engine who dreams of winning the
- 20:31world championship railroad race to impress the beautiful
- 20:36observation car Pearl against modern diesel and electric
- 20:41engines.
- 20:42Finding self-belief through the legendary mystical Starlight
- 20:46Express, a Santa Claus figure for trains to
- 20:50overcome his self-doubt and prove heart and
- 20:53faith matter more than any technology.
- 20:57All performed on roller skates as a child's
- 21:01toy trains come to life.
- 21:04So this play is, let's say, interesting to
- 21:13me.
- 21:14But not only that, it has a very
- 21:16special place in my heart because this play
- 21:19was the one that I got to take
- 21:23friends of mine from my class in high
- 21:25school to go see.
- 21:26My parents had rented limos to go to
- 21:29New York and then we went for lunch.
- 21:32And this whole thing, when you can go
- 21:36to a movie or you can go to
- 21:37a play and you can come out with
- 21:40a feeling, feelings are what cause us to
- 21:45make the changes that we can in our
- 21:49lives.
- 21:52Words can do some things, but it's the
- 21:54feeling that causes us to change the direction,
- 21:59to change our course.
- 22:02Feelings create manifestation.
- 22:08They create manifestation.
- 22:10And if we understand how it creates manifestation,
- 22:12then maybe we can be a little bit
- 22:16more, how can I say, a little more
- 22:20observant.
- 22:24Doesn't have to be a train.
- 22:26Doesn't have to be a Starlight Express.
- 22:30You carry your own heavy moments.
- 22:33Maybe these are in relationships.
- 22:36Maybe they're with family.
- 22:41Maybe they're with yourself.
- 22:44You're trying to achieve goals.
- 22:48That could be health-related, fitness-related, educational
- 22:54-related, financially-related.
- 23:00And I think when we can get into
- 23:02ourselves and feel something like this, it changes
- 23:06the who we are.
- 23:09And I've said to you, the who we
- 23:10are becomes important.
- 23:11When we identify with our core values.
- 23:15See, those are the ones that make us
- 23:18do or not do something.
- 23:22You might've heard somebody say, you know, I
- 23:23got a feeling.
- 23:25It's the feelings that we get that make
- 23:32us go the extra mile.
- 23:35I'll give you another story.
- 23:37Runners, like New York Marathon and other hikes
- 23:41and runs, sometimes it's just that extra push.
- 23:50And sometimes that comes from a total stranger.
- 23:54Sometimes it comes from a friend or a
- 23:55family member.
- 23:56Like, you've got this, you've got this.
- 23:58Yeah, yeah.
- 24:01Those are important things, guys.
- 24:05But just because something's heavy doesn't mean you
- 24:08should blow it away.
- 24:09Doesn't mean you shouldn't explore it.
- 24:13Yes, it might be challenging and a little
- 24:15painful, but there might be some great rewards
- 24:18on the other side of that.
- 24:20Rewards that could potentially reshape your future.
- 24:26Rewards that could elevate you by installing new
- 24:30skills so you don't run into this heaviness
- 24:34in the future.
- 24:35Maybe skills that actually can change who you
- 24:41are.
- 24:43Maybe skills that can change who you are
- 24:47to help others change who they wanna be.
- 24:51You see, as I said to you in
- 24:55the blind of the darkness, it just needs
- 24:57to exist, okay?
- 24:59Because every single flicker of your life, every
- 25:05heartbeat, every breath you take, guess what, guys?
- 25:10They matter.
- 25:13They matter.
- 25:16Every sound you make, every breath you take,
- 25:20every step you take.
- 25:23Remember the song, I'll Be Watching You?
- 25:27You should be watching you.
- 25:28You should be observing you, you should be
- 25:30celebrating you.
- 25:32And when the time gets heavy, be aware
- 25:38of why you're feeling heavy.
- 25:42And chances are, you may not feel heavy
- 25:45that much longer.
- 25:49It's the uncomfortability of something new that will
- 25:56often trip us up.
- 25:59This is why many people will avoid new
- 26:01things because they don't want new.
- 26:04They want comfort, they want convenient.
- 26:09But I said to you guys before, comfort
- 26:11and convenient does not lie for the same
- 26:16plane that success lives in.
- 26:18There has to be some discomfort.
- 26:20There has to be some growth.
- 26:24I didn't say pain, I said growth.
- 26:26I said discomfort, right?
- 26:31Think about that for a moment.
- 26:34Think about maybe the last time maybe you
- 26:36felt heavy.
- 26:39Was it doing a chore?
- 26:41Was it maybe reading something for someone?
- 26:46Was it giving a presentation in school or
- 26:48at work?
- 26:49Was the heaviness coming maybe because of something
- 26:53you did?
- 26:55Maybe something that wasn't in alignment with your
- 26:58integrity.
- 26:59These are the kinds of reasons we feel
- 27:01heavy sometimes.
- 27:03It's the universe's way of saying, hey, look,
- 27:07I want you to notice this.
- 27:08I want you to not do this in
- 27:09the future.
- 27:11So we get a heavy heart.
- 27:14Heaviness can also bring us sadness.
- 27:18Heaviness is a state we go through, but
- 27:23it's not a state we live in, okay?
- 27:26There's ups and there's downs.
- 27:28We don't stay heavy forever.
- 27:30We get in heavy and we get out
- 27:32of heavy.
- 27:33But while we're in the state of being
- 27:35heavy, we have to at least acknowledge how
- 27:40we're feeling, how our body is responding.
- 27:44Those are key.
