- 0:01When the world is feeling like too much,
- 0:04you have permission to do what you need to do to care for your
- 0:09unique, powerful, and potently healing energy.
- 0:23Hello and welcome back to Remember Why You Are Here,
- 0:27a podcast for seekers and sensitives where you can relax, receive,
- 0:33reconnect to yourself,
- 0:34and remember the most important thing of all-why you're here.
- 0:40I'm Asia Suler and I wanted to do something a little
- 0:44different for this episode. I don't know about you,
- 0:47but I feel lately like the world is too much.
- 0:53This is a really common thing to feel when you are a sensitive
- 0:57person.
- 0:59Our nervous systems were not designed for the worlds that we live in.
- 1:03None of our nervous systems were, but if you are sensitive,
- 1:08then your nervous system especially was not designed for this world with
- 1:13such an overwhelming amount of communication, information,
- 1:18news stories coming in from around the world...
- 1:21There can often be this feeling of
- 1:24overwhelm and helplessness when we tune into just the
- 1:29vastness,
- 1:30the bigness of all of the inputs that are here. And so
- 1:35for today's podcast,
- 1:36I wanted to revisit a video that I had made on my YouTube channel
- 1:42because the four tools that I share in this broadcast are the things that
- 1:46I still come back to all the time when I start to feel overwhelmed and
- 1:51confused.
- 1:52And it's really common when you feel this sense of too muchness to also then
- 1:57just forget: What do I do? What do I do when I feel this way?
- 2:02Because I'm too overwhelmed to even access those tools.
- 2:04I literally have a folder on my phone
- 2:09where the title is,
- 2:12"What to Do when You Feel Lost," because when I feel lost or overwhelmed or like
- 2:16things are too much, I forget.
- 2:18And so I wanted to put this recording here on the podcast in case
- 2:23you too needed to remember. I also wanted to
- 2:28repost this today because I am super busy at the moment
- 2:33getting ready for Earth Angel School, which is starting tomorrow,
- 2:38April 23rd. I'm so excited about this.
- 2:42Earth Angel School is an 11-week spiritual school for my fellow sensitives.
- 2:47The school was designed to support you as a sensitive person to
- 2:51really step into the true depths of your mission in this
- 2:56life, to really understand yourself,
- 3:00on an emotional, physical,
- 3:02spiritual level-to really see the gifts that you came into this life carrying.
- 3:08The school was designed to help support all my fellow sensitives to stop having
- 3:12energy flow endlessly out of you so you can use that energy to really build a
- 3:17life of your dreams,
- 3:19to understand the true nature of who you are and your spiritual gifts,
- 3:23to reconnect to your soul's mission on this planet,
- 3:26learn how to receive direct guidance and support from your spiritual guides-this
- 3:30is really important and so helpful. In the school,
- 3:34we also explore how to channel information directly so you can make the right
- 3:38decisions for yourself,
- 3:39how to create relationships that feel balance and nurturing for your deepest
- 3:43self. Relationships are such a big topic for sensitive people,
- 3:46and there's a way to be in them that feels really nourishing and
- 3:50good. We'll also really address how to shift your focus away from always
- 3:55creating harmony for others, to creating a heaven in your own life,
- 3:59to stop giving away your lifeforce so you can use it to heal yourself and this
- 4:04world. Because that's really what it comes down to:
- 4:07your life force is a healing force in this world.
- 4:11Your life force is here to make big impact and big change,
- 4:14and you doing what you need to do to conserve and care for
- 4:19and understand your own energy and life force is really your task
- 4:24as a sensitive person in this life. And if nothing else in this episode,
- 4:29I really want to give you permission to do that;
- 4:31when the world is feeling like too much,
- 4:34you have permission to do what you need to do to care for your
- 4:39unique, powerful,
- 4:41and potently healing energy. So if you're interested in Earth Angel School and
- 4:46you're listening to this before we close the gateway on April 23rd,
- 4:51then definitely go and check out all the details at
- 4:55AsiaSuler.com/EarthAngelSchool.
- 4:57I would absolutely love to see you there. So with that,
- 5:02let's get into today's episode and explore the four tools that are here to help
- 5:06you when the world simply feels like it's too much.
- 5:10This video is for all my fellow sensitives and
- 5:14empaths out there, because let's be real,
- 5:16being in this world sometimes can feel really hard.
- 5:21I know that I've struggled at times with just the intensity of being on this
- 5:25earth at this time. I'm Asia Suler writer,
- 5:28teacher earth intuitive, and author of Mirrors in the Earth,
- 5:32and this video is a guide to four steps to take as a sensitive and
- 5:36empath so you can thrive in this world.
- 5:40I use these four steps all the time to help take care of my
- 5:44sensitivity and to feel like I really have a place where I can shine in this
- 5:48world, where I feel protected, safe, grounded, and alive.
- 5:52So you can do these steps along with me now or listen and try them at another
- 5:56time. Step one is to curate your
- 6:01consciousness. As a sensitive,
- 6:04you are deeply aware of the world around you.
- 6:07You are probably often tracking everybody in your life.
- 6:11You are keeping in touch with what's going on in the world around you,
- 6:15whether that's literally through the news or just energetically. As sensitives,
- 6:20we always have our feelers open so literally everything is coming into our
- 6:24consciousness at any time.
- 6:26So if you want to thrive in this world as a sensitive or an empathic person,
- 6:30you have to be willing to curate your consciousness. What does this mean?
- 6:35This means that you have to be willing to have boundaries on what you allow into
- 6:40your field. For you, this might be,
- 6:42I'm not going to look at my phone first thing in the morning.
- 6:45I'm definitely not going to look at the news first thing in the morning because
- 6:48I know the moment that I see those news stories or the moment I click onto my
- 6:52social media feed,
- 6:54my brain is flooded with all of this sensory input that then overwhelms
- 6:59me from here on out. Another way to curate your consciousness might be,
- 7:03I don't have conversations on the phone before 5:00 PM. Or,
- 7:07I don't have conversations on the phone after 5:00 PM.
- 7:09I need that time to clear my consciousness,
- 7:12to be open to feeling my own thoughts, my own feelings. Now,
- 7:16these are just a few examples, but you are going to know for you,
- 7:20What is it that you need to do to curate your own consciousness?
- 7:22And if you're doing this along with me right now, ask yourself,
- 7:27what are the things you engage in that bring your energy down,
- 7:30that seem to drain your energy? Is it social media?
- 7:34Is it talking to certain people or going to certain kinds of events?
- 7:39Just take note of this. Perhaps throughout your day today,
- 7:42notice when your energy hits a dip or a low, and then ask yourself,
- 7:47What am I doing in this moment? What am I exposed to?
- 7:50What is coming into my consciousness? And is there a way that I can curate this,
- 7:54that I can put these boundaries in place to make these decisions?
- 7:58Because the reality is that we are deeply affected by what comes into our
- 8:03brains, into our fields,
- 8:04into our consciousness. I realized this from a young age that the books that I
- 8:09read would affect my dreams,
- 8:11the movies that I saw often made me feel a certain kind of way
- 8:14for days at a time.
- 8:16I realized that I cannot watch scary movies because I literally start feeling
- 8:21like I am living in a scary movie if I watch one.
- 8:25It's just part and parcel of me being a sensitive person.
- 8:28So are there things in your life that you are exposed to,
- 8:31or you are choosing to expose yourself to,
- 8:34that are actually really affecting your consciousness in a way?
- 8:37You have permission to curate that.
- 8:40You have permission to decide when and where you interact with some of these
- 8:43things. So what are some things that you can decide that you want to let go
- 8:48of now or that you're only going to engage with at certain times?
- 8:51This is an empowering way to curate what is coming into your field.
- 8:55And by doing so,
- 8:56you can actually allow your mind and your nervous system to have the space
- 9:01to tune into you, to tune into your own energy field,
- 9:04and what it is that makes you thrive. So the second step goes along with
- 9:09this as a natural progression, and this is to envision your boundaries. Now,
- 9:14we talk a lot about boundaries as sensitives and empaths because we need them so
- 9:18much and because we're so naturally boundaryless. In this exercise,
- 9:23I want you to literally envision a boundary around yourself.
- 9:26It's one thing to talk about it;
- 9:28It's another thing to actually use your intention and your inner consciousness,
- 9:32the power of your mind, and envision these boundaries. Now,
- 9:36your boundaries are going to look specific for you.
- 9:39Maybe your boundary will be a bubble. Maybe it's going to be a fence.
- 9:42Maybe it's going to be a bright light.
- 9:44I love envisioning my boundaries as a hedgerow.
- 9:49So a hedgerow full of a diversity,
- 9:50of plants and berries and flowers,
- 9:53planted in a thicket of thorns all around the edges of what I
- 9:57conceive of the garden of my life.
- 9:59So I see that hedgerow far enough out for myself that I know I have space to
- 10:04move and stretch and explore, but thick:
- 10:07thick enough that the energies that I'm not willing to have in my life have a
- 10:11natural barrier,
- 10:12where they're kept on the outside. So take a moment now if you're following
- 10:16along with me, and envision your boundary.
- 10:19What visual is coming up for you when you tune into this?
- 10:23This boundary should be something that makes you feel good,
- 10:26that makes you feel protected, safe, alive and spacious.
- 10:30Because ultimately that's what boundaries do for us:
- 10:33they actually help us as sensitives to feel more spacious in our life,
- 10:37because there's more space for our own energy to spread out. I recommend
- 10:42envisioning your boundaries at least once a day:
- 10:45so either first thing in the morning before you go about your day,
- 10:49or perhaps at night before you go to sleep, to really call yourself back home.
- 10:53You can envision your boundaries before challenging situations or maybe
- 10:57before you're going into a public sphere where you know your sensitivity is
- 11:01going to be on alert. Really take that time to envision that boundary,
- 11:04see it in your mind's eye, use all of your senses to engage with it,
- 11:08and I promise you that energetic boundary will be there to help protect you.
- 11:13The third tip is to connect in with your own individual essence or
- 11:17frequency. You have an energy that is all your own,
- 11:21and you are here in this lifetime to have that energy completely embodied in
- 11:26your life. That's your goal. That is your purpose in life,
- 11:30to have your energy be what animates your body, your form,
- 11:35your life. Now, as sensitives,
- 11:38we're often very in-tune with other people's energies,
- 11:41the energies that are moving through the world. This can be a beautiful thing.
- 11:44It makes us really good listeners, therapists.
- 11:47It makes us really amazing practitioners.
- 11:49It makes us really highly tuned into the subtle realm. And,
- 11:54it can get confusing. What's my energy versus what's someone else's? Who am I,
- 11:58versus somebody else?
- 12:00So taking time every day to envision and feel your own energy.
- 12:05And here's how I love to do that,
- 12:06and you can follow along with me now if you'd like: Envision that there is a
- 12:10beautiful light coming into your body now.
- 12:13This is the light of your wider self.
- 12:16This is the light of your home frequency, who you truly are. Now,
- 12:21if it helps you to do so, you could let your eyes close to visualize this light.
- 12:24I want you to see this light moving into your body now completely and
- 12:29totally into your energy field. And notice,
- 12:32what color is this light?
- 12:37All of our lights are going to be different.
- 12:39Your color is going to be different than someone else,
- 12:41and this color holds a very particular frequency: the frequency that is you.
- 12:46So really take a moment now to see this color. Don't overthink it.
- 12:51Just let it arise into your mind.
- 12:54And see this colored light flood
- 12:57completely into your body. How does this feel?
- 13:02This light is moving into you so fully that there's not space for anything else
- 13:07but your own light, this frequency that is you,
- 13:11this beautiful, vibrant color that carries the energy of who you are.
- 13:17See this light flood completely all the cells in your body,
- 13:22so much so that now you're radiating this light.
- 13:26This is your home frequency. This is who you are.
- 13:30This is your innate energy, and this is a place where you can rest.
- 13:37So you can use this visualization anytime you need. And this color is a gift.
- 13:42This color has come to remind you of who you are. So if you have time,
- 13:46maybe sit down and write a little bit about what this color brings up for you,
- 13:51where you've seen this color before, what it reminds you of,
- 13:54how you feel when you interact with this color.
- 13:56This color will now be like a touchstone for you to remember who you are,
- 14:00and remember that feeling of being at home with yourself and fully
- 14:05ensconced and connected to your own home frequency. Step number
- 14:10four is to learn how to come home to yourself.
- 14:13So we've explored these three tools,
- 14:15which will help you throughout your day to stay centered, grounded,
- 14:19and inside your own energy field, which is your place of power.
- 14:23Now we're exploring how to come home to yourself at the end of the day or
- 14:27whenever you need to. As empaths and sensitives,
- 14:31we're constantly exporting ourselves out into the world to interact with people,
- 14:36to be available for other energies.
- 14:38So learning how to come home to ourselves is an essential skill. I know for me,
- 14:43what this looks like is often taking care of the sensory aspects of my
- 14:48surroundings: so putting on music that I really like,
- 14:51or maybe even putting on a white noise machine, dimming the lights,
- 14:56lighting a candle, getting into soft, comfy clothes.
- 15:00All of these sensory details help me in my mind and in my
- 15:05nervous system to come back into a state of relaxation,
- 15:07to feel available for this process of coming home to myself.
- 15:12As sensitives, we're very attuned to our environment.
- 15:15So whatever you can do to make your environment feel soft, cozy,
- 15:19safe and less overwhelming,
- 15:21will help you come back home to yourself. And then there's a visualization that
- 15:25I like to use at the end of the day,
- 15:26where I actually see myself as a map of lights,
- 15:30and I notice where these little lights might be out in the world,
- 15:34and I call each one back home, one by one,
- 15:36until I feel my own light complete and intact and whole again.
- 15:42So the way that you come home will be unique and special to you.
- 15:46Maybe it's being alone, maybe it's being with your pet.
- 15:49Maybe it's sitting outside underneath your favorite tree. Whatever it is,
- 15:53take some time today to think about it, to figure it out, to ask yourself,
- 15:58What is it that helps me feel like all the lights of myself are back home,
- 16:02safe inside of my being?
- 16:04Taking time every day to come back home,
- 16:08to be in your home frequency, to bathe in the energy that is you.
- 16:13This is what gives you energy to be out in the world.
- 16:15This is what gives you power to be doing your work in the world.
- 16:20You as an empath, as a sensitive,
- 16:22have really important gifts to bring to this world.
- 16:25And those gifts are integrally tied in with your sensitivity.
- 16:29So learning how to take care of yourself as a sensitive person in this world is
- 16:33how you give the gifts of your being to this planet. So if you are
- 16:38loving this information about how to care for yourself as a sensitive person and
- 16:42you want to know how to be supported in that,
- 16:44and specifically how the earth can support you in your sensitivity,
- 16:49then definitely check out my book, Mirrors in the Earth.
- 16:52The book was specifically created for other sensitives and
- 16:56empaths on the journey of learning how to flourish in this world,
- 16:59by learning how to value themselves and take care of themselves as sensitive
- 17:04people.
- 17:05This book is all about interacting with the natural world so you can see the
- 17:08nature of who you are.
- 17:10And I've loved connecting with people through this book being out in the world.
- 17:14So if you do read the book, I would love to know, What resonated with you?
- 17:18Was there a specific chapter or moment or plant in the book that really
- 17:22spoke to you? It has been such a blessing to work with so many sensitives on my
- 17:27path because sensitive people are magnificent,
- 17:30sensitive people have incredible gifts:
- 17:33gifts that only someone who is as sensitive and empathic as
- 17:37you can bring. So thank you for being who you are in this world,
- 17:41for the sensitive, empathic person that you are.
- 17:44What you bring to this earth is special, it's needed,
- 17:47and now more ever,
- 17:50your gifts are so deeply needed on this planet.
- 17:54Are you still listening? If so, you are my people.
- 17:59If you are still here,
- 18:00I wanted to remind you about my voicemail service.
- 18:05I have a voice messaging center on my website where you can leave me a voice
- 18:10message. And I have been loving hearing from people.
- 18:13It's one of my favorite things.
- 18:15So if you have thoughts about this episode or you have something you'd like to
- 18:19suggest for a future episode,
- 18:21head on over to asiasuler.com/remember, and I'd love to hear from you.
