- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey and Anette. This is Tatiana King of for All Nerds.
- 0:02Speaker 2: And on this episode we review episode four of Ironheart
- 0:05Speaker 2: where we watched Ezekiel Stain become white Lightning tragedy.
- 0:20Speaker 1: So let's keep moving. We want to talk about episode four.
- 0:24Speaker 2: And he talked about choices, Ben and that terrible ass
- 0:28Speaker 2: repass was a choice?
- 0:30Speaker 3: Why was it terrible?
- 0:32Speaker 1: They didn't really do it?
- 0:34Speaker 3: Do it right?
- 0:34Speaker 1: For my man's.
- 0:35Speaker 2: John John, they had a lot more money, like they
- 0:40Speaker 2: definitely have dollars right now, like they have funds.
- 0:43Speaker 3: And they sat him in the barn, ordered.
- 0:45Speaker 4: Some l that was out the boxes. They an't even.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Play the.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Shakeoola's Catherin from Madicpoor Magic Poor showed up and said,
- 0:56Speaker 2: so can y'all say.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Something nice about John Tving and b and.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Doing criminal activities for who knows years at this point?
- 1:07Speaker 4: Months has he been months?
- 1:09Speaker 3: I think it's been months?
- 1:11Speaker 2: Is you doing crimes with your hood red friends for
- 1:14Speaker 2: three four five months?
- 1:15Speaker 1: You had nothing nice to say about each other. And
- 1:18Speaker 1: they looked at each other like.
- 1:21Speaker 5: Clown headfirst into the table like episodes ago. You know,
- 1:25Speaker 5: you know she was she was not was just like well, I.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Can't say it was terrible. They hated that.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Nigga bad Like.
- 1:35Speaker 3: I think he's one of the best actors on the show. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:40Speaker 3: oh yeah.
- 1:41Speaker 6: I remember seeing him in Good Girls and just his
- 1:44Speaker 6: his presence. You almost kind of think about him him
- 1:48Speaker 6: being the Hood a little bit.
- 1:50Speaker 3: But I think that is the right casting.
- 1:52Speaker 6: Because it's it's he's somebody who I guess he I
- 1:56Speaker 6: don't know the age in real life, but he reads older.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Yeah, And why the why Hood would.
- 2:03Speaker 6: Look up to him Parker, Parker would look up to
- 2:05Speaker 6: him and just and and really so his death and
- 2:10Speaker 6: I think one of the things that I appreciate about
- 2:12Speaker 6: this series as a whole. It's a mini series, and
- 2:14Speaker 6: it treats it treats things like a mini series where
- 2:18Speaker 6: like anybody can get it, and just because you like
- 2:22Speaker 6: this character, just because this character is is Oh I
- 2:25Speaker 6: like this character, and it's like, oh, he's gone now,
- 2:29Speaker 6: and now everybody has to deal with the aftermath of
- 2:32Speaker 6: his death. And it's something that you know, I think
- 2:35Speaker 6: trauma is a really big thing in this show, which
- 2:39Speaker 6: I was pleasantly like astounded by, you know, for a
- 2:44Speaker 6: lot of characters, not just really yeah for them.
- 2:48Speaker 2: I'm glad you mentioned that about trauma being like a
- 2:50Speaker 2: huge theme along this this mini series, because first of all,
- 2:55Speaker 2: that's a deeper theme that's not often visited in Marvel
- 2:58Speaker 2: projects one on and then certainly not one that that
- 3:01Speaker 2: has a short by at least at least for season
- 3:04Speaker 2: one and hopefully they're decent two, but a shorter lifespan
- 3:07Speaker 2: where you don't think that they're going to allow the
- 3:09Speaker 2: space for that. But then that I had mentioned before
- 3:12Speaker 2: episodes back, that it gives more humanities to the characters,
- 3:15Speaker 2: whether they're they're quote, you know, the bad guy or
- 3:18Speaker 2: the good guy or the in between person, you still
- 3:20Speaker 2: see that there are layers to them. They're just not
- 3:23Speaker 2: a flat, you know, flat one note character. And I
- 3:26Speaker 2: think that's what I mean, that's part of what makes
- 3:29Speaker 2: these stories good, right, having the tragedy or having you
- 3:32Speaker 2: have to have some sort of conflict there, right, And
- 3:34Speaker 2: in this case, is that trauma that so many people
- 3:37Speaker 2: in this show are experiencing on multiple levels.
- 3:39Speaker 1: And I just think that makes it even stronger because.
- 3:42Speaker 2: It gives you more depth to these people, makes you
- 3:44Speaker 2: actually care about what's going on.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't even think about how the memorial is
- 3:49Speaker 3: time to try.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Everything you know, I had a crazy I had a
- 3:55Speaker 2: crazy trip back today on the planes and stuff, and
- 3:59Speaker 2: so I had a chance to kind of just scrub
- 4:00Speaker 2: through everything again and I was just like, damn, that
- 4:02Speaker 2: was a.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Terrible last time.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Like there was no food or nothing, and like well
- 4:07Speaker 2: pizza so whatever you said, cold piece or whatever.
- 4:09Speaker 1: It just it was just.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Funny to me, but more indicative of like, y'all thinguts
- 4:12Speaker 2: don't really have a plan. Like it was like it
- 4:15Speaker 2: made it more apparently this is just a slap slap
- 4:18Speaker 2: shot like just thrown together ragtag team that you know,
- 4:23Speaker 2: like like a like a broke down Ocean's eleven type shit.
- 4:26Speaker 2: And I don't know if that was on purpose or otherwise,
- 4:30Speaker 2: but like it was just like y'all think its don't
- 4:32Speaker 2: know what y'all do when like it's a bunch of individuals. Yeah,
- 4:36Speaker 2: it's not exactly a team. And then you know later
- 4:39Speaker 2: on you see how them individuals it's like, wo a minute,
- 4:41Speaker 2: they didn't one.
- 4:42Speaker 4: A minute they not.
- 4:43Speaker 5: So I mean this is not the edgement, Like this
- 4:46Speaker 5: is not where they've been raised with Charles and Xavior,
- 4:48Speaker 5: you know, and this ain't even the second Edgeman Wolverine
- 4:51Speaker 5: where they're grown and they all had their own thing
- 4:53Speaker 5: going on, and they came together as a team. But
- 4:55Speaker 5: this might be like that, but they never get a
- 4:57Speaker 5: chance to form that bombs because there's no real Te
- 5:00Speaker 5: Tavy here.
- 5:00Speaker 3: It's a bad Magnito impression, I guess.
- 5:03Speaker 5: And now I just thought I didn't realize how trash
- 5:07Speaker 5: his memorial was, but I did like the opening scene
- 5:11Speaker 5: where it shows John's saving Carter and then how that
- 5:14Speaker 5: went into the memorial scene, because I thought that was
- 5:16Speaker 5: a great flashback and a great last chance for a
- 5:19Speaker 5: dude to give some great acting and once again, like
- 5:22Speaker 5: you said, Chris, for you to see why Carter looks
- 5:24Speaker 5: up to him and why the loss of John is
- 5:27Speaker 5: going to drive Carter completely over the edge as it does.
- 5:32Speaker 2: No it does, and with Parker, I was laughing also
- 5:35Speaker 2: how he was plotting on re Re like you saw
- 5:38Speaker 2: that like that that the influence of the hood and
- 5:41Speaker 2: all this other stuff just really got to him in
- 5:42Speaker 2: that space. And then you could again I think Anthony Ramos,
- 5:46Speaker 2: he's done in the excellent like he's leveled up in
- 5:48Speaker 2: this role to be able to be palpable with.
- 5:51Speaker 1: The tension and the really show like he ain't up
- 5:54Speaker 1: to no good.
- 5:55Speaker 2: I think again, something that has been sorely lacking out
- 5:57Speaker 2: of Marvel for a long time.
- 5:59Speaker 3: GENC, you had something?
- 6:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:00Speaker 7: I think they opened this episode with Rere and Natalie
- 6:04Speaker 7: back at her house, right, is that that's how it starts,
- 6:07Speaker 7: and Natalie is kind of trying to console rereover John.
- 6:11Speaker 4: Uh that's his.
- 6:12Speaker 7: Name, John, John's murder.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Oh oh you're talking about AI Natalie?
- 6:18Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, anyway, I might have maybe I said this
- 6:20Speaker 7: last week. I don't know, but I appreciated the way
- 6:23Speaker 7: that Natalie was trying to bring Rere back to reality
- 6:27Speaker 7: because is being real hard on herself. I appreciated the
- 6:30Speaker 7: friendship and the ability of Natalie to kind of be
- 6:33Speaker 7: the voice of comfort and reason, and it kind of
- 6:36Speaker 7: brought to light like their relationship and the ways in
- 6:40Speaker 7: which Natalie is kind of a manifestation of we re
- 6:44Speaker 7: you know what I'm saying, So like while three Ree
- 6:46Speaker 7: is experiencing this kind of self doubt, negative self talk
- 6:51Speaker 7: about I mean, it was a really traumatic thing to
- 6:54Speaker 7: kill that man when she probably could have wrapped him but.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Listened to you talk about that.
- 7:00Speaker 2: But in the heat of the moment though, and we
- 7:03Speaker 2: all know Reebe's a very tunnel vision person.
- 7:05Speaker 7: I think like, honestly, for somebody who was worried that
- 7:09Speaker 7: a cop almost died, when she almost died, I feel
- 7:12Speaker 7: like that character who was worried about that cop would
- 7:14Speaker 7: have went back and got that.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Boy, got John out the out the thing. You know
- 7:18Speaker 4: what I'm saying. It just it doesn't track for what
- 7:20Speaker 4: they've been trying to convince us. Like, it just didn't.
- 7:24Speaker 4: It didn't add up for me in that moment.
- 7:26Speaker 3: You know, I don't think she was you know that
- 7:28Speaker 3: he got that.
- 7:29Speaker 4: Yeah, no, that's that's fair to go ahead.
- 7:31Speaker 3: To the hood. He knew that she had that piece
- 7:34Speaker 3: of the hood, so.
- 7:36Speaker 1: She you know, I mean he did try to kill her.
- 7:38Speaker 3: So yeah, he's trying to kill her. So he's like,
- 7:39Speaker 3: oh he left him in there.
- 7:41Speaker 6: Sorry, I don't know, I.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Don't know.
- 7:47Speaker 5: No, I agree with Genisia all a sudden, know, like, no,
- 7:53Speaker 5: I wouldn't say that. I don't think that really was
- 7:57Speaker 5: as concerned with the cop. But I get it. It's
- 7:59Speaker 5: a cop, I get it, But.
- 8:01Speaker 4: It was also sorry.
- 8:02Speaker 7: It was also in a moment where she almost died.
- 8:05Speaker 7: That's why to me, when she's like somebody almost died.
- 8:08Speaker 1: It's just felt so, you know, so you almost died
- 8:11Speaker 1: to what about?
- 8:12Speaker 4: Right, and in that moment you're working.
- 8:14Speaker 7: Okay, So this is actually a perfect example because this
- 8:17Speaker 7: was a moment where she almost died. It was a
- 8:18Speaker 7: lot of things happening in that moment, right, So in
- 8:21Speaker 7: a moment where she almost died, she's worried that this
- 8:23Speaker 7: cop was almost killed or whatever, right, and in a
- 8:27Speaker 7: moment where she was almost dying, now they leave John in.
- 8:31Speaker 4: There to die. You know, it's just it's just, you know,
- 8:34Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 8:34Speaker 7: I get the point that she couldn't breathe, I get it,
- 8:37Speaker 7: but it did I.
- 8:38Speaker 5: Don't think I think the suit leaves John and there
- 8:40Speaker 5: to die and she's just trying in the suit. Yeah,
- 8:44Speaker 5: I mean Natalie is really about like that's why Natalie.
- 8:48Speaker 3: That intentionally, like that made her choice.
- 8:51Speaker 2: That is that has made it Natalie AI's prime directive
- 8:56Speaker 2: is to protect at all costs, so.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Much higher in that moment well too.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Of course, of course I will say that episode four,
- 9:06Speaker 2: especially on the first watch, it was one of my
- 9:09Speaker 2: maybe one of the most favorite episodes for me because
- 9:11Speaker 2: of the huge introduction of the magic mixed with the Yeah,
- 9:18Speaker 2: not like we've seen the magic in MCU, but really, like, again,
- 9:23Speaker 2: for such a short mini series, for them to be
- 9:25Speaker 2: able to really.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Have a fleshed out like detour.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Literally a spinning detour into the magic world, that shit
- 9:34Speaker 2: was fire to me.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Like for them to be able to build it up in.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Such a short amount of time and it still makes
- 9:39Speaker 2: sense and it didn't feel rush to me.
- 9:41Speaker 1: It just felt like it was a fully built.
- 9:43Speaker 2: World that was always in the background and that was
- 9:45Speaker 2: the point, right, Just like how like when you watch
- 9:47Speaker 2: the Doctor Strains films, how there's this other world going
- 9:49Speaker 2: on back there that you just don't see. They lift
- 9:52Speaker 2: the veil a little bit, you know, they go into
- 9:53Speaker 2: the mirror and they you know, they in the mirror verse,
- 9:56Speaker 2: whatever the fuck they are at the time, it's the
- 9:57Speaker 2: same situation, like the magic is always there, the just
- 10:00Speaker 2: happening all around you, and now we're gonna pull you
- 10:02Speaker 2: into the space.
- 10:03Speaker 1: And it it felt for the way.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Re Read and her mom when they went like when
- 10:08Speaker 2: they went to that shop and met Zelma and it
- 10:10Speaker 2: met up with Madeline and like you could that shocked
- 10:14Speaker 2: feeling like what the fuck does happened? I felt that
- 10:17Speaker 2: and I think that's good writing. I think for you
- 10:20Speaker 2: to be put into the shoes of the main character
- 10:22Speaker 2: and be able to feel like the shifts like that
- 10:26Speaker 2: those are And I don't know if webc magic like
- 10:28Speaker 2: that before, but that's a major shift away from everything
- 10:31Speaker 2: she's known as far as I know, I don't know
- 10:32Speaker 2: if she seeing doctor Strange doing his.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Shit or whatever.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Really, I know she's been with Makana and then, but
- 10:38Speaker 2: that's still tech. Yeah, so you know, yes, it's spirituality,
- 10:42Speaker 2: but it's also tech. So I I think that was
- 10:44Speaker 2: the first time so for her to be like, hey, yo,
- 10:47Speaker 2: like I felt that.
- 10:49Speaker 7: I love that, And I love that her mom has
- 10:52Speaker 7: always been kind of.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Woo woo, you know what I'm saying.
- 10:54Speaker 7: So when the girl is like, you know, she throws
- 10:58Speaker 7: that thing and she's like, oh, I'm reading I'm reading
- 11:00Speaker 7: tea leave, the mom.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Is like, oh, yeah, I could do that.
- 11:02Speaker 7: And then she throws it on the glass and she's like,
- 11:04Speaker 7: oh no, no, never mind, not like not like that.
- 11:05Speaker 4: That's that's something else. That's something else.
- 11:07Speaker 7: I like how they blended in that aspect of like
- 11:11Speaker 7: real life conjure with the magic of the Marvel universe.
- 11:15Speaker 3: That was dope.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Facts and I don't want to also bring up something
- 11:17Speaker 2: you said before, which was so strong in this episode
- 11:20Speaker 2: just seeing Chree Summers, like seeing her not just her voice,
- 11:24Speaker 2: seeing her and seeing her essentially play herself in a
- 11:27Speaker 2: little bit because you said you use the term she
- 11:29Speaker 2: kind of wo She always been kind of a and
- 11:31Speaker 2: all that stuff. So you know, she came in with
- 11:33Speaker 2: the Gandolf hat and I'm like, yes, this is this
- 11:35Speaker 2: is what I want to see, and like it just
- 11:38Speaker 2: felt natural. It didn't feel like people play in a character.
- 11:41Speaker 2: It just felt like this is what these people like,
- 11:43Speaker 2: this is.
- 11:43Speaker 1: How they move in life.
- 11:45Speaker 2: And it was just and that's the other part about
- 11:47Speaker 2: the whole bringing the magic in it. It was strong
- 11:49Speaker 2: and how it was built and it's fun. Like that's
- 11:52Speaker 2: why I like Doctor at least the other ones. I
- 11:54Speaker 2: liked the Doctor trans films because it brought an element
- 11:56Speaker 2: of fun and just weird mysticism to it that you
- 11:59Speaker 2: just wasn't seeing with all the practical stuff.
- 12:02Speaker 7: Yes, and the youthfulness of the girl, so what's the
- 12:06Speaker 7: youngest Zelma. The youthfulness of Zelma reminded me because re
- 12:11Speaker 7: Rey is doing all kind of like grown up shit.
- 12:14Speaker 7: It reminded me that re Re is a kid, you
- 12:17Speaker 7: know what I'm saying, right right, So the parallel of
- 12:21Speaker 7: the two moms and the two daughters in this teenagers
- 12:25Speaker 7: in this scenario kind of helped to reground things in
- 12:29Speaker 7: terms of like, Okay, these are kids playing with like
- 12:32Speaker 7: for real intense grown up shit, you know.
- 12:36Speaker 5: Yeah, casually distressing Dormamu, which is in the fifth episode.
- 12:40Speaker 1: It's crazy.
- 12:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:41Speaker 5: I really loved this too, because we talked about this
- 12:44Speaker 5: last week, how it into how this series has grown
- 12:47Speaker 5: this whole world around Reread, full of all these characters
- 12:51Speaker 5: that we've never seen before, and a lot of them
- 12:53Speaker 5: are very well developed, especially like Zelma and Madeline.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Yep.
- 12:58Speaker 5: Yeah, because I love how there's all this stuff like, oh,
- 13:00Speaker 5: you could have raised me, you know about commatage, you know.
- 13:05Speaker 5: And then there's all the little mentions of magic. You know,
- 13:08Speaker 5: you see her performing magic in the same way that
- 13:10Speaker 5: Doctor Strange and others.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Have done second nature.
- 13:13Speaker 5: And then that was the other thing I loved the
- 13:15Speaker 5: second nature about it is how her mom, like you said,
- 13:18Speaker 5: not only is her mom you know, got her own
- 13:21Speaker 5: version of magic, but just how accepting both her mom
- 13:23Speaker 5: and Rere are of this because they live in the
- 13:26Speaker 5: Marvel universe. And that's what's really great writing to me.
- 13:29Speaker 5: It's like they're not sitting there like, oh my god,
- 13:31Speaker 5: you know what. I'm running around the magic room like
- 13:33Speaker 5: what just happened?
- 13:33Speaker 3: Oh no, no, what's this?
- 13:34Speaker 5: And is more like, okay, that was a little weird
- 13:37Speaker 5: that happened. But I always knew you were kind of magical,
- 13:41Speaker 5: you know, free, and now I know you really are,
- 13:44Speaker 5: and of course your daughter is. And you know, we've
- 13:46Speaker 5: all seen Doctor Strange on television at this point for
- 13:49Speaker 5: years upon years, I'm sure s Charlotte Witch and most
- 13:53Speaker 5: of the other you know, quite a few known.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Magic uses said that like when it happened, and and
- 14:00Speaker 2: mom was like what the fuck?
- 14:01Speaker 1: She was just like, well, y'all never heard of the niggas.
- 14:02Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, you have to.
- 14:04Speaker 1: And again this.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Goes back to what we say about the continuity of
- 14:07Speaker 2: the MCU. Acknowledge that shit happens, Acknowledge that there's a
- 14:10Speaker 2: fucking celestial and then see you know something like that,
- 14:13Speaker 2: like you gotta because this happens, has happened, and let's
- 14:16Speaker 2: let's live and have the character speak on things as
- 14:18Speaker 2: if this should happen.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Yeah, could they.
- 14:20Speaker 5: All live in a very insane world and that's why,
- 14:23Speaker 5: you know, they have to acknowledge.
- 14:25Speaker 2: These things, right, Chris, did you have any to say
- 14:28Speaker 2: about just the magic and how you felt about all that?
- 14:30Speaker 6: I kind of just echoing what you said earlier. I
- 14:32Speaker 6: really loved seeing Crease Summer. I love the just very
- 14:35Speaker 6: naturalistic acting, just being able to juxtapose that magical aspect
- 14:42Speaker 6: and have it grounded as well as just like a
- 14:45Speaker 6: mother and daughter kind of having this conversation with exposition
- 14:49Speaker 6: about their life and still being connected to what's going on.
- 14:53Speaker 3: I thought, I thought it was great.
- 14:56Speaker 6: Yeah, it's just and and then you know, just as
- 14:58Speaker 6: a fan of a different world and all that, you know,
- 15:00Speaker 6: it's just great to see Crease Summer. Hadn't seen her,
- 15:03Speaker 6: I don't remember since maybe at Atlanta, the Atlanta finale.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:08Speaker 3: She's also been on Abby's.
- 15:12Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, so she's been doing great on there.
- 15:17Speaker 6: So yeah, just grounded performances. It's just just like they
- 15:20Speaker 6: people just step into these parts and give full of
- 15:24Speaker 6: last performances.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:26Speaker 5: Sarah Hawley, I think that's her last name, Sarah Finn Hawley,
- 15:29Speaker 5: the casting director of Marvel. We've mentioned her for a
- 15:33Speaker 5: few times, and she's a goddamn legend. You know, I
- 15:36Speaker 5: will give her praises at every opportunity.
- 15:39Speaker 3: I said it on Threads the.
- 15:40Speaker 5: Other day that she's the most important part of the
- 15:42Speaker 5: MCU because her casting. So the daughter is Madeline, right, Yeah,
- 15:51Speaker 5: it's like you just gave this young actress a role
- 15:54Speaker 5: and I can see her, you know, being right alongside
- 15:57Speaker 5: reread until the end of the MCU. Now, Like, it's
- 16:00Speaker 5: just the way that they keep establishing all these characters
- 16:03Speaker 5: and given these actors roles, actors and actresses rolls. It's
- 16:07Speaker 5: just absolutely amazing.
- 16:09Speaker 4: Facts facts, facts.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Also in this episode, we see Ezekiel Stain become what
- 16:15Speaker 2: I call white lightning. So he the hey, they put
- 16:20Speaker 2: the ships in him, and now he got the lightning
- 16:23Speaker 2: coming out his fingertips.
- 16:24Speaker 5: So I want to say, black common nerd as a
- 16:28Speaker 5: video where he dispels the myth that there is a
- 16:34Speaker 5: large percentage.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Of heroes of black heroes with lightning powers. And I
- 16:40Speaker 3: didn't watch the video. I'm just like, yeah, whatever, be
- 16:42Speaker 3: don't give me that truth. I know the lots is real.
- 16:45Speaker 4: It's fucking hair.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Come, Ezekiel, he's you know, you know what I mean?
- 16:49Speaker 2: When they say we got everybody in Mark. He's the
- 16:51Speaker 2: mark in this situation. You know, it's all right, well,
- 16:53Speaker 2: you know, the one white guy.
- 16:54Speaker 1: But I guess he leveled up. I mean with level up,
- 16:58Speaker 1: I mean he I mean did they care?
- 17:03Speaker 4: I really was okay?
- 17:06Speaker 7: So the only thing I like, yeah, I like the
- 17:11Speaker 7: connection to Obadiah. And then that's where it starts for me.
- 17:18Speaker 7: We spent so much time. There was so many other
- 17:21Speaker 7: things that could have been done with the time that
- 17:24Speaker 7: we spent making sure that this was a fully fleshed out,
- 17:27Speaker 7: kind but stressed out white man. It was just too
- 17:32Speaker 7: much time on this guy who's not a big enough
- 17:35Speaker 7: character even in this universe. Like, the payoff for all
- 17:39Speaker 7: this building that we did for this white man is
- 17:41Speaker 7: not even that great. And honestly, we didn't even leverage
- 17:46Speaker 7: all right, So so he gets his strength from uh,
- 17:50Speaker 7: his inner white woman, his inner black woman, right, he
- 17:53Speaker 7: gets that strength.
- 17:54Speaker 4: The payoff for that should be for me, Like.
- 17:58Speaker 7: When when Hood has him like doing his deeds, like
- 18:03Speaker 7: doing his bidding, that should be funnier. That should be funnier.
- 18:08Speaker 7: That shit should lean into more. Like I got this
- 18:10Speaker 7: white man, like, no, you're gonna do what I told
- 18:12Speaker 7: you kind of stuff like this should if I have
- 18:14Speaker 7: to spend so much time learning about this.
- 18:17Speaker 4: White man's doubts about himself and how much he wants
- 18:20Speaker 4: to help, but he's conflicted, and there was so much
- 18:25Speaker 4: time spent with this, give me the payoff of like laughing,
- 18:30Speaker 4: Like I should know him well enough to see why
- 18:32Speaker 4: it's so funny that the Hood is controlling him. There
- 18:35Speaker 4: should be some some comedy in there.
- 18:37Speaker 7: There's also a power imbalance there that can that should
- 18:40Speaker 7: be played up or power. There's some shit going on there,
- 18:43Speaker 7: some dynamics going on there that could be played up
- 18:45Speaker 7: for laughs for my personal benefit, because I had to sit,
- 18:48Speaker 7: I had to sit as a black girl watching it
- 18:51Speaker 7: showed us about the black girl. And we spent so
- 18:53Speaker 7: much time on this freaking white man that that we
- 18:57Speaker 7: could have spent We could have spent that real estate
- 18:59Speaker 7: doing other shit, you know what I'm saying.
- 19:01Speaker 4: So now we have.
- 19:02Speaker 7: The Hood, who we later learn was kicked out of
- 19:05Speaker 7: his home, dealt with all type of bullshit or whatever,
- 19:08Speaker 7: has been yearning for a certain type of power that
- 19:10Speaker 7: he now gets or whatever. We have this this freaking
- 19:13Speaker 7: Exekiel who's a millionaire, who lives in this modest ass
- 19:16Speaker 7: house so that he can build fucking war machines on
- 19:20Speaker 7: the loaf for his own personal delight and fulfillment. You
- 19:23Speaker 7: know what I'm saying. That sh that should have been
- 19:25Speaker 7: played up for laughs, and we got didn't. I didn't
- 19:28Speaker 7: get enough from that. It was like his whole purpose
- 19:31Speaker 7: there was like, this is a nice, conflicted white boy.
- 19:35Speaker 7: Let's spend a lot of time with him, so that
- 19:37Speaker 7: you niggas could argue about all the time you didn't
- 19:40Speaker 7: spend on other stuff.
- 19:42Speaker 5: No, oh shit, sorry to interrupt real quick. PSA, A
- 19:45Speaker 5: lot of y'all watch this channel and you don't hit
- 19:48Speaker 5: the like or the subscribe button. Help out for our nerds,
- 19:51Speaker 5: hit the like, hit the subscribe button, join the fan fam.
- 19:56Speaker 5: Do it now and we'll get right back to this video.
- 19:59Speaker 3: All right.
- 20:00Speaker 7: Yeah, his existence, the amount of time spent was infuriating.
- 20:04Speaker 6: Wow, I think of it like that.
- 20:11Speaker 4: That's what I do, Chris, You know that.
- 20:12Speaker 6: No, I'm aware. I think though. I thought that scene
- 20:18Speaker 6: was it was an episode five or six, when he
- 20:20Speaker 6: meets his when we meet Parker's dad, that's later on.
- 20:23Speaker 3: That's six.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Okay, that's the last episode.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Okay, so we can't tell that.
- 20:28Speaker 4: No, we mean we meet down in five, don't we
- 20:31Speaker 4: meet him?
- 20:31Speaker 2: But you know, but you know what, Denisia, when you
- 20:33Speaker 2: said what was the purpose and all that, and it's
- 20:35Speaker 2: actually a really simple purpose and whope, I mean, this is.
- 20:37Speaker 1: The only thing that makes sense to me.
- 20:39Speaker 2: It was to give her like a B level rival
- 20:43Speaker 2: that can always pop up, because.
- 20:45Speaker 7: Yeah, but B level doesn't deserve that amount of time.
- 20:48Speaker 7: You know.
- 20:49Speaker 4: That's that's what that's the issue.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Like, Okay, well i'll get you next time, my pretty
- 20:54Speaker 1: type ship.
- 20:55Speaker 4: I could have did that ship in half the time.
- 20:57Speaker 2: I think if nothing else makes sense, well that doesn't
- 20:59Speaker 2: make sense either.
- 21:01Speaker 5: I know.
- 21:01Speaker 3: This is what I'm gonna say.
- 21:03Speaker 6: I'm just gonna say as a black man, I agree
- 21:06Speaker 6: with both of you black women, and I think I
- 21:10Speaker 6: think you're right, uh, Tatiana where adversarial character before you
- 21:16Speaker 6: get to the big bad And I think that confrontation,
- 21:19Speaker 6: I really I don't. I just don't want to go
- 21:21Speaker 6: skip ahead too much. But yeah, conversation they have later
- 21:24Speaker 6: on in the series was good. And it's when you
- 21:28Speaker 6: think that they're supposed to be this trust built that
- 21:32Speaker 6: Reread and he have and then for it to be broken.
- 21:36Speaker 6: You could see that the anger that he has towards
- 21:39Speaker 6: re read later on. But I understand what you're saying.
- 21:42Speaker 6: They could have used that time to develop me.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Let me ask you a question, Denisia, how did you
- 21:46Speaker 2: feel when re re restateingly or otherwise did well, mistakenly,
- 21:52Speaker 2: did exactly what Ezekiel asked her not to do.
- 21:54Speaker 4: Have you ever helped to parent a teenager?
- 21:58Speaker 7: Yes, it was giving that it was giving, this is
- 22:02Speaker 7: what teenagers and he told.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Them exactly what to do. You believe in them.
- 22:07Speaker 7: Their teenagers are in this awkward space between childhood and adulthood,
- 22:11Speaker 7: and you're starting to see them as somebody who can
- 22:14Speaker 7: think for themselves and do and make choices, and you
- 22:16Speaker 7: trust them and they let you down because sometimes because
- 22:19Speaker 7: they're a freaking teenager, you know what I'm saying. So
- 22:22Speaker 7: I thought that he was on the right track, Ezekiel
- 22:26Speaker 7: when he was like, you know, you're just a teen
- 22:28Speaker 7: and you're out for yourself and da dada.
- 22:29Speaker 4: He was on the right track.
- 22:31Speaker 7: Then once he got juiced up on the steroids, on
- 22:33Speaker 7: the electricity steroids.
- 22:35Speaker 4: It seemed like a like the energy, I get the anger.
- 22:39Speaker 7: Okay, she helped to ruin your life, that you had
- 22:42Speaker 7: your cushy life where you able to hide secretly
