- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to the 96.1 Kiss Morning Freak Show. Hey, somebody
- 0:05Speaker 1: wants to start the show with a question here for you, Bob.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Good morning, Big Rick Bob and meet meet with the
- 0:10Speaker 1: Jeep Jeep. Those are solid nicknames for us. I like that.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Hey, Bob.
- 0:14Speaker 1: We got a question for you. Okay. Question for you, Bob,
- 0:17Speaker 1: to start the show here. We, as in myself and
- 0:20Speaker 1: the Mover community. Okay. The listeners out there and himself
- 0:23Speaker 1: have a question for you. Do your truck nuts hang low?
- 0:26Speaker 1: Do they wobble to and fro? Can you tie them
- 0:28Speaker 1: in a knot? Can you tie them in a bow?
- 0:31Speaker 1: Can you throw them over your shoulder? Are they sagging?
- 0:33Speaker 1: Are they dragging? Do your truck nuts hang low?
- 0:36Speaker 3: Meow.
- 0:36Speaker 1: All right. That's how we start the show this morning. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah,
- 0:45Speaker 1: you like that, or yeah is the answer? I think
- 0:49Speaker 1: I needed an answer. It was a question, right? Yeah. So, yeah. Okay.
- 0:53Speaker 4: Yes.
- 0:54Speaker 1: All right. The answer is yes. Thank you again to
- 0:56Speaker 1: everybody that mails us random things in the mail. Bob
- 0:59Speaker 1: got a heavy set of truck nuts in the mail
- 1:02Speaker 1: last week from a nice listener named The Toilet T-Rex Gina.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Also got a package this morning already, Bob. Did we? Yeah,
- 1:09Speaker 1: we did. I was waiting for it. I opened it
- 1:12Speaker 1: up and I have no clue what that is. There's
- 1:14Speaker 1: like little rubber bands in there. It's sort of like
- 1:17Speaker 1: some sort of, I don't know what this is. Let
- 1:19Speaker 1: me see that. Pass it over. Do you know what
- 1:21Speaker 1: that is? Because there's a note with it, too. It says, hey, Mikey,
- 1:24Speaker 1: thought you need a place to store your Jeep Ducks.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Didn't think you'd want any permanent damage to your loaner.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Threw in an extra one for Bob. Maybe he can
- 1:32Speaker 1: use it to hold his meat sticks for his Dodge Ram. Enjoy.
- 1:37Speaker 1: From Anna. Anna, thank you very much. Sent us some
- 1:41Speaker 1: Jeep duck holders. It's bungees that hook to your, I
- 1:46Speaker 1: think they hook to your handles.
- 1:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Within your Jeep. You can put the Jeep ducks, right?
- 1:50Speaker 1: And then they have little, like, duck holders. Well, let's
- 1:55Speaker 1: see if your meat can fit in there later today
- 1:57Speaker 1: after the show, Bob. 96.1. Kiss. Ophelia. Feel like people
- 2:03Speaker 1: were watching two things last night, the Emmy Awards and
- 2:06Speaker 1: Monday Night Football, and Taylor Swift was on both of them.
- 2:10Speaker 1: The Chiefs beat the Broncos, and Taylor Swift, of course,
- 2:14Speaker 1: is watching her now-husband Travis Kelsey play. See Tom Cruise
- 2:18Speaker 1: is up in the box with her?
- 2:20Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Hey, Taylor. Okay. We love Taylor. Just careful with Tom Cruise.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I'm not sure he's the best person. And then... The
- 2:31Speaker 1: Emmy Awards, the Emmy Awards, the pit did once again
- 2:35Speaker 1: win for best drama. But I think the Emmy Awards
- 2:38Speaker 1: were dominated by Widows Bay. 14 wins. You ever? I
- 2:44Speaker 1: haven't watched it yet. It's on my list, though. I'll
- 2:47Speaker 1: get to it. Made the list. Yeah. I got like
- 2:49Speaker 1: 30 shows that I should be made the list. One
- 2:51Speaker 1: of them though. But then, uh, at the Emmys, there
- 2:54Speaker 1: was a, uh, Mariska Hargitay, uh, of course, who plays
- 2:57Speaker 1: Olivia Benson at law and order SVU Taylor Swift's like
- 3:00Speaker 1: favorite show. Um, she was doing this segment where they
- 3:04Speaker 1: were trying to figure out whether or not Taylor Swift
- 3:06Speaker 1: was going to go to the Emmy awards. And they
- 3:09Speaker 1: eventually figure out no, because her husband has a football game, but, uh,
- 3:12Speaker 1: there was a point that's got the Swifties, uh, ears
- 3:16Speaker 1: perked up a little bit and when i mean swifties
- 3:19Speaker 1: i mean i need to figure this out because i
- 3:22Speaker 1: she looked at the camera right she just drops clues
- 3:25Speaker 1: out of nowhere yeah so taylor swift's playing like a
- 3:28Speaker 1: rookie cop and lauren law and order svu in this
- 3:32Speaker 1: uh sort of segment here with olivia benson and this
- 3:34Speaker 1: isn't adding up and who asked you rookie our perp.
- 3:38Speaker 6: Has a clear mo a lot of this doesn't fit
- 3:40Speaker 6: the pattern and i don't.
- 3:41Speaker 7: Think everything is a clue It is to the Swifties.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Yeah. I think what we're going to be looking for.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Here it comes. is hiding in plain sight. Here it comes. Saccharide, Aries,
- 3:51Speaker 1: from the vineyard, north or south. How is it?
- 3:54Speaker 3: What did you just say?
- 3:55Speaker 1: I didn't say anything. Rookie's weird. Yeah. Ice-T rookie is weird.
- 4:01Speaker 1: What's she mean? Directly, the camera drops that, and I
- 4:04Speaker 1: was just like, what'd you say? What if it actually
- 4:07Speaker 1: means nothing, and it's just part of the skit, like
- 4:09Speaker 1: sort of making fun of Swifties, thinking everything's a clue?
- 4:12Speaker 1: Everything means something. I know. All right, well, we saw
- 4:15Speaker 1: her on Monday Night Football. She wasn't at the Emmys,
- 4:17Speaker 1: but she is one of the things being talked about
- 4:21Speaker 1: from the Emmy Awards last night. Taylor Swift in the
- 4:25Speaker 1: skit with Olivia Benson. All right, this morning, we want
- 4:28Speaker 1: to hear some say something nice, get some positivity on
- 4:31Speaker 1: the show. If you have something nice to say about
- 4:33Speaker 1: somebody in your life, send us a talkback message through
- 4:36Speaker 1: the free iHeartRadio app. Say something nice around 725. And
- 4:39Speaker 1: we got your chance to go see Wiz Khalifa at
- 4:42Speaker 1: the brand new venue, Citizens Live at the Wiley around 830.
- 4:45Speaker 1: It's Mikey and Bob. 96.1 Kids. The Mikey and Bob Podcast.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Our iHeartRadio Music Festival is in Vegas this Friday and
- 4:56Speaker 1: Saturday night. You can hear it right here on 96.1
- 4:59Speaker 1: KISS or stream it on Disney Plus and Hulu starting
- 5:02Speaker 1: 10.30 at night Friday and Saturday here on 96.1 KISS.
- 5:06Speaker 1: It is Mikey and Bob. Mike McCarthy, Steelers head coach,
- 5:10Speaker 1: at his weekly press conference yesterday ahead of the Steelers'
- 5:13Speaker 1: second game of the season, first road game. They're in
- 5:15Speaker 1: New England taking on the Patriots on Sunday, and it's
- 5:18Speaker 1: all about Joey Porter Jr. this week. Is he going
- 5:21Speaker 1: to play? Is he going to have a contract? Is
- 5:23Speaker 1: he going to hold out? Is he even going to
- 5:26Speaker 1: see the field this season? Are they going to trade him?
- 5:28Speaker 1: Here is Mike McCarthy, you know, talking about Joey's ramp
- 5:32Speaker 1: up this week.
- 5:33Speaker 8: Speaking with Joey, I think I shared this with you yesterday,
- 5:35Speaker 8: but I haven't met with the trainers or the strength
- 5:38Speaker 8: staff yet. But, you know, hopefully we'll have a good
- 5:41Speaker 8: plan for him on Wednesday. Hopefully we'll do more. That's
- 5:46Speaker 8: the outlook. Hopefully we move forward with more volume of work.
- 5:50Speaker 8: That would be my anticipation.
- 5:52Speaker 1: He knows a lot when he's talking about Joey Porter.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I think we should just stop lying here and be like,
- 6:00Speaker 1: he's not injured. bad enough to not play. He just
- 6:03Speaker 1: wants a new deal. He deserves a new deal. He's
- 6:06Speaker 1: been ramping up. It's too much ramp. There's too much
- 6:10Speaker 1: ramp here. There's too much ramp. Coach McCarthy was asked
- 6:15Speaker 1: yesterday whose decision was it to not play Joey Porter.
- 6:18Speaker 8: It was my decision. I'm in charge of the 48.
- 6:21Speaker 8: You have a week of training. We spoke a couple
- 6:25Speaker 8: times last week. My concern for Joey obviously is to
- 6:29Speaker 8: get him to a spot no different than everybody else
- 6:32Speaker 8: in training camp. It is different that there's a business
- 6:36Speaker 8: component to it. And that's really a whole other topic.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I got to stop looking at this like it's
- 6:42Speaker 1: Joey Porter Jr. with some injury who's ramping up. This
- 6:45Speaker 1: is all a money situation. And Coach McCarthy was then asked,
- 6:50Speaker 1: you know, is this going to get to the point
- 6:51Speaker 1: where it possibly becomes a distraction this year?
- 6:54Speaker 8: I mean, hey, you know, we're preparing to go win
- 6:59Speaker 8: our first away game. I think I've answered your questions.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Oh, he's had enough.
- 7:03Speaker 8: Hopefully he gets a step further being ready to play,
- 7:07Speaker 8: you know, and the business situation will be a business situation.
- 7:12Speaker 8: This is the most I've frankly ever talked about a
- 7:14Speaker 8: business situation, so I think I've I think I'll stop
- 7:16Speaker 8: right here.
- 7:18Speaker 1: That's such a great way to... I've never talked about
- 7:20Speaker 1: a business situation this long before, so... We don't talk
- 7:22Speaker 1: about business. You know what? I just thought, well, if
- 7:25Speaker 1: I want to stop talking about it, I think I'll
- 7:27Speaker 1: just end it right here. It's such a great way
- 7:30Speaker 1: to be like, all right, yeah, I'm done with this.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I think I'm sort of done with this, so I'll just...
- 7:35Speaker 1: I think I'll stop right here. I'll stop right here. Yeah,
- 7:38Speaker 1: no new information, really, with Mike McCarthy. We've got to
- 7:41Speaker 1: stop acting like Joey Porter's really hurt. It's all a
- 7:44Speaker 1: contract issue, and hopefully it gets worked out. I just
- 7:47Speaker 1: doubt it's going to get worked out during the season.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Hopefully they don't trade him. If they do, hopefully they
- 7:53Speaker 1: get a haul for him. But I think everybody here
- 7:56Speaker 1: at Pittsburgh wants Joey Porter to stick around and be
- 7:58Speaker 1: with the Steelers. Steelers at Patriots Sunday up in New England.
- 8:02Speaker 1: We will get to the Pittsburgh Police Scanner account coming
- 8:04Speaker 1: up next. One local story has to do with the
- 8:08Speaker 1: senior center, so we will get to that. Got a
- 8:11Speaker 1: special request for today in Freak Show history right before
- 8:14Speaker 1: 7 o'clock and around to say something nice around 725.
- 8:17Speaker 1: It's Mikey and Bob. 96.1 KISS. The Mikey and Bob Podcast.
- 8:24Speaker 1: It should be kind of nice out today, right? Not bad.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Highs in the low 80s, a little bit warmer than yesterday.
- 8:28Speaker 1: It's Mikey and Bob here on 96.1 KISS. If you
- 8:31Speaker 1: miss any of the live show in the morning, get
- 8:33Speaker 1: caught up with our Mikey and Bob podcast brought to
- 8:35Speaker 1: us by the C. Harper Auto Group. Also, if you
- 8:38Speaker 1: drive a Jeep in and around the Pittsburgh area, me
- 8:41Speaker 1: and Bob do have Mikey and Bob's C. Harper Jeep
- 8:44Speaker 1: Ducks that we're randomly putting on vehicles. It's kind of
- 8:47Speaker 1: a weird thing for us to randomly go up to
- 8:49Speaker 1: a vehicle and set something on it that nobody asked for.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Not even sure if the person wants. They don't have
- 8:56Speaker 1: a choice. You just spot ducks on the dash and
- 8:58Speaker 1: you're like, yep. Yep. More. You're getting a Jeep duck.
- 9:01Speaker 1: All right, Bob, it's time to get to the Pittsburgh
- 9:04Speaker 1: police scanner account again. Just a couple of people will
- 9:07Speaker 1: listen to the Pittsburgh police scanner basically all day and
- 9:09Speaker 1: then post on their social media accounts about what is
- 9:12Speaker 1: happening in and around our city. Bedford Dwellings. Caller says
- 9:18Speaker 1: a delivery person dropped off a package on their porch
- 9:20Speaker 1: instead of for a neighbor, and they don't enjoy it.
- 9:23Speaker 1: They want the cops to move it to the right house. Okay.
- 9:27Speaker 1: All right. The cops aren't the Amazon guy.
- 9:31Speaker 9: No.
- 9:31Speaker 1: No. Cops aren't out here like Mr. McFeely, the legendary
- 9:35Speaker 1: mailman from Mr. Rogers' neighborhood. They're not coming over to
- 9:38Speaker 1: deliver the package next door. It is an annoying thing, though,
- 9:42Speaker 1: isn't it? Yeah. When you get a package, especially if
- 9:45Speaker 1: it's not like your direct neighbor. Direct neighbor is somebody
- 9:49Speaker 1: like across the street is fine. I hate when you
- 9:52Speaker 1: get one that's like 40 numbers off yours and you're like, oh, cool.
- 9:57Speaker 1: I gotta drive around the neighborhood now find this house
- 10:01Speaker 1: every thanksgiving since we've moved into our house we've gotten
- 10:05Speaker 1: a honey baked ham delivered to the front porch That
- 10:09Speaker 1: belongs down the block. What an absolute gift, though. Like,
- 10:14Speaker 1: that's awesome. Not for me. I got to deliver it
- 10:16Speaker 1: down the block. Well, yeah. Hey, all of a sudden,
- 10:19Speaker 1: that ham stops showing up for your neighbors. Also happening
- 10:23Speaker 1: in and around our city, Mount Washington, Boggs Avenue. Caller
- 10:29Speaker 1: said three kids broke into the bingo game at the
- 10:32Speaker 1: senior center and are horsing around. Whoa! These kids are
- 10:39Speaker 1: about to learn you don't mess with Granny's bingo game.
- 10:43Speaker 1: That's what I'm thinking, too. Hey, Granny comes from a
- 10:46Speaker 1: different time, too. She'll whip your ass. Like, you want
- 10:50Speaker 1: to horse around in there, kids? Yeah, she will. Granny's
- 10:52Speaker 1: got weapons. Granny used to be able to hit her kids.
- 10:56Speaker 1: She's not staring at you. Different times. She used to
- 10:59Speaker 1: be able to hit her kids. You're stepping into Granny's arena.
- 11:02Speaker 1: She doesn't know any better now. You're in her ring. Seriously.
- 11:06Speaker 1: First of all, she's going to poke you in the
- 11:07Speaker 1: eyes with the big no dabber. Then she's going to
- 11:11Speaker 1: kick you in the jewels. she will call them the
- 11:14Speaker 1: jewels too then comes belt the ass and granny's not
- 11:18Speaker 1: playing around and she's just gonna get you down start
- 11:20Speaker 1: pounding on you because you screwed up the bingo game
- 11:23Speaker 1: that's what's happening in and around our city all right
- 11:29Speaker 1: we got a special request for today in freak show
- 11:31Speaker 1: history coming up and uh i think it was triggered
- 11:35Speaker 1: by taylor swift's appearance at the uh The Emmys last night.
- 11:38Speaker 1: We'll get to that for today in Freak Show History.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Also around to say something nice. Bring some positivity to
- 11:43Speaker 1: the show around 725. It's Mikey and Bob. Pirates back
- 11:50Speaker 1: at it at home tonight taking on the Brewers. First
- 11:54Speaker 1: 21,000 get a Clemente Day bobblehead? Yeah, yeah. That's pretty sweet.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Clemente bobble. Randomly on a Tuesday night. Hey, got to
- 12:02Speaker 1: sell those tickets. They're going to have some leftovers, right?
- 12:05Speaker 1: There ain't going to be 21,000 people that show up
- 12:08Speaker 1: to the Pirates game tonight. Usually the bobblehead nights are
- 12:11Speaker 1: pretty packed, though. Yeah, I don't know, though. Usually they're
- 12:14Speaker 1: on a Friday or something, too. This is a Tuesday night,
- 12:18Speaker 1: middle of September game. I don't know. Nothing against the
- 12:22Speaker 1: Clemente bobblehead, but 21,000 people on a Tuesday night. It's
- 12:26Speaker 1: a lot when you're sort of out of it. We'll see.
- 12:28Speaker 1: All right. It's Mikey Bob here on a 96 one kiss.
- 12:32Speaker 1: we'll do around to say something nice coming up around
- 12:34Speaker 1: 725 if you have something positive to add to the
- 12:37Speaker 1: show somebody in your life that you just want to
- 12:39Speaker 1: put a spotlight on could be somebody close to you
- 12:42Speaker 1: could be somebody who helped you out at the grocery
- 12:44Speaker 1: store doesn't matter send a talkback message we'll do some
- 12:47Speaker 1: say something nice around 725 this morning right now though
- 12:51Speaker 1: let's get to another talkback message brought to us by
- 12:53Speaker 1: One Team Media Hey guys it's Opal.
- 12:55Speaker 2: In honor of the Taylor Swift opening for the Emmys
- 13:00Speaker 2: can we hear the Dick Wolf story that was down
- 13:03Speaker 2: in Florida. Well, it was Richard Wolfe or whatever, but
- 13:05Speaker 2: Bob called him Dick Wolfe. It was so funny. Can
- 13:09Speaker 2: we hear that story for today in future history?
- 13:13Speaker 4: All right.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Have a great day, guys. Happy birthday, Bob.
- 13:16Speaker 1: All right. Thank you. First of all, Opal, it's not
- 13:19Speaker 1: Bob's birthday. That is New Year's Day. Well, Florida Dick Wolfe.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Taylor Swift did a little pre-recorded skit for the Emmys yesterday.
- 13:27Speaker 1: She was with the cast of Law & Order SVU.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Taylor Swift will not... be at the Emmys. Well, she's
- 13:32Speaker 1: not there. I'm not watching.
- 13:33Speaker 6: Maybe she's going to do one of those cool pre-taped
- 13:36Speaker 6: sketch things to support the host.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Do you think she'll sing? No. Oh, wow.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Isn't it cool when it does that? Mm-hmm. It's actually
- 13:44Speaker 3: my ringtone.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Yeah, it is. You know, sort of like ringtone, the
- 13:48Speaker 1: dun-dun law and order SVU. So yeah, for today in
- 13:52Speaker 1: Freak Show History, let's take you back to a story.
- 13:55Speaker 1: where a Florida man had the same name as the
- 13:58Speaker 1: man who does all those Law & Order shows, Dick Wolf.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Here we go. Today in Freak Show History. Today in
- 14:06Speaker 1: Freak Show History. Down to Florida we go. Citrus County, Florida.
- 14:16Speaker 1: A 57-year-old Florida man was pulled over for a traffic stop.
- 14:21Speaker 1: 57-year-old Richard Wolfe was pulled over for a traffic stop,
- 14:24Speaker 1: got out of the SUV, bent over, put his hands
- 14:28Speaker 1: on the road, and started twerking for the deputies in
- 14:31Speaker 1: the pouring rain. Damn. Dick Wolfe dropping it down. All right.
- 14:39Speaker 1: isn't dick wolf the guy who does like all the
- 14:41Speaker 1: uh law and orders isn't that isn't that his name
- 14:44Speaker 1: dick wolf all right i didn't know that i'm guessing
- 14:46Speaker 1: it's not the same guy i'm guessing it's not the
- 14:48Speaker 1: same guy what if it was hold on let me
- 14:51Speaker 1: look up dick wolf because i know i know my
- 14:53Speaker 1: wife watches a lot of the law and order uh
- 14:56Speaker 1: you know like svu shows and stuff like that and
- 14:58Speaker 1: at the end it's always just like you just see
- 15:01Speaker 1: dick wolf and you're like hell yeah dick wolf Yeah,
- 15:04Speaker 1: Law & Order franchise, Bob. Probably not dropping it to
- 15:07Speaker 1: the floor for police officers in Florida, though. It's a
- 15:09Speaker 1: weird name to say. His name is Dick Wolf, but
- 15:13Speaker 1: not that Dick Wolf. It's a weird thing to say.
- 15:16Speaker 1: All right, so we have a 57-year-old Florida man named
- 15:20Speaker 1: Dick Wolf. Not that dick wolf, though. The Florida dick wolf.
- 15:29Speaker 1: The Florida dick wolf is a completely different dick wolf
- 15:33Speaker 1: than the lawn. Completely different animal. Florida Dick Wolf, completely
- 15:40Speaker 1: different animal than the Law and Order SVU Dick Wolf.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I love that we can't even get through this story. Like,
- 15:48Speaker 1: I honestly read Richard Wolf and did not process that
- 15:51Speaker 1: as Dick Wolf until you said it. And here we are,
- 15:54Speaker 1: completely off the tracks. You are right over there. Yeah,
- 15:58Speaker 1: I feel like they roll the window down, right? Lights
- 16:00Speaker 1: go up, lights go off. They pull them over, traffic stop, whatever. Apparently,
- 16:05Speaker 1: he was just disrupting the flow of traffic by attempting
- 16:08Speaker 1: to pass cars using the grass median in turn lane.
- 16:13Speaker 1: So he was going somewhere. But you're right. Cops pull
- 16:16Speaker 1: them over, license, registration, whatever. Richard Wolff, they see on
- 16:21Speaker 1: the thing. They're like, all right, Richard. And then he
- 16:23Speaker 1: just goes, call me Dick. And then maybe pulls his
- 16:26Speaker 1: sunglasses down. Dick Wolff. Turns on the music, gets out
- 16:30Speaker 1: of the car. Dick Wolf just started dancing. The officer
- 16:33Speaker 1: resorted to tasing him. He was charged with resisting an
- 16:38Speaker 1: officer without violence, fleeing from law enforcement, reckless driving. It
- 16:44Speaker 1: is Dick Wolf, but not that Dick Wolf, Florida Dick Wolf.
- 16:49Speaker 1: It's a Florida story making the show once again. We
- 16:53Speaker 1: do have a portion of the show this morning where
- 16:55Speaker 1: we're going to get a little serious. We lost a
- 16:59Speaker 1: member of our... Sort of listening family, our moobers community,
- 17:03Speaker 1: if you will. We will get to that. It's sort
- 17:06Speaker 1: of been weighing on me and Bob for the last
- 17:07Speaker 1: few days here. We'll get to that around 7.55. It's
- 17:10Speaker 1: Mikey and Bob on 96.1 KISS. Of course, we always
- 17:14Speaker 1: want your talkback messages. We'll do a round to say
- 17:16Speaker 1: something nice coming up around 7.25. So if you've got
- 17:19Speaker 1: something positive to say, something going good in your life,
- 17:22Speaker 1: somebody in your life you want to put a spotlight on,
- 17:25Speaker 1: send us a talkback message and we'll do a round
- 17:27Speaker 1: to say something nice coming up. Around 725 here on
- 17:33Speaker 1: 96.1 Kiss. The Emmy Awards were last night. Now, the
- 17:35Speaker 1: pit did good. It won Best Drama again. That's back-to-back years.
- 17:40Speaker 1: It's been a show for two seasons. It's the first
- 17:43Speaker 1: show to do that since Mad Men did it in, like, whatever, 2009,
- 17:47Speaker 1: I think it was.
- 17:48Speaker 10: Right.
- 17:49Speaker 1: But yesterday, the big winner at the Emmys was Widow's Bay,
- 17:53Speaker 1: the Apple TV show. 14 Emmys. Out of 19 nominations,
- 17:59Speaker 1: went 14 for 19. They won a lot directing, a
- 18:04Speaker 1: lot of acting awards, too. And then, of course, The Pit,
- 18:08Speaker 1: our show here in Pittsburgh, they won seven out of
- 18:11Speaker 1: their 25 nominations. Noah Wiley for the second year in
- 18:14Speaker 1: a row, getting Best Actor for a Drama Series for
- 18:17Speaker 1: his portrayal as Dr. Robbie Rabinovich in The Pit. And
- 18:22Speaker 1: DTF St. Louis, also on HBO. That had seven Emmys, too.
- 18:29Speaker 1: And then, of course, a lot of people are talking
- 18:30Speaker 1: about Taylor Swift this morning. Let's get to this talkback
- 18:33Speaker 1: message here.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Buenos dias, todos mis amigos.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:38Speaker 3: It's Dice from Baldwin calling in to check in. Taylor
- 18:41Speaker 3: Swift has done it again.
- 18:42Speaker 6: Some kind of weird cryptic SVU on order situation.
- 18:46Speaker 3: We all know her cat is named Cat. Olivia Benson.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Yeah, Taylor Swift loves Law & Order, SVU, her cat's
- 18:53Speaker 1: named Olivia Benson, yeah.
- 18:55Speaker 3: We get that. But now she's dropping clues in plain sight.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:59Speaker 6: The four statements Taylor makes after in plain sight, she says,
- 19:05Speaker 6: looking into the camera.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 19:09Speaker 3: From the vineyard, north or south.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what Taylor says, you know, when they're talking
- 19:17Speaker 1: about the secret messages, you know, hidden in plain sight.
- 19:21Speaker 11: I think what we're going to be looking for is
- 19:23Speaker 11: hiding in plain sight.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Saccharide Ares, from the vineyard, north or south.
- 19:30Speaker 4: Okay, all right.
- 19:31Speaker 1: So that's sort of Taylor's hiding in plain sight clues
- 19:34Speaker 1: right there. She turned directly at the camera, too. She
- 19:36Speaker 1: knows what she's doing. Yeah. She knows what she's doing.
- 19:39Speaker 3: What does it mean?
- 19:39Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 19:40Speaker 3: What does it mean?
- 19:41Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Are we getting Taylor's version?
- 19:44Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 19:44Speaker 7: Are we getting the rap?
- 19:46Speaker 3: What's happening?
- 19:47Speaker 1: Answer me. I don't know what's happening. Answer me. Answer me.
- 19:52Speaker 1: I don't know what happens about the cryptic message here.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Saccharine Aries from the Vineyard North or South. Somebody did
- 19:59Speaker 1: make the comment that from the Vineyard Aries and then
- 20:03Speaker 1: North and South, it kind of spells out fans, but
- 20:07Speaker 1: I don't know if that means anything. Saccharide is a
- 20:12Speaker 1: monosaccharide sugar or combination of sugars. So it could symbolize
- 20:18Speaker 1: something sweet.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Sweet.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Or maybe there's new music that you need to digest
- 20:23Speaker 1: because it could also be used to refer to carbohydrates.
- 20:27Speaker 1: So what does Aries mean? Of course, it's an astrological sign,
- 20:30Speaker 1: which is from March 21st to April 19th. All right.
- 20:34Speaker 1: So if she's got an album, that's too early for that.
- 20:38Speaker 1: If you're dropping like cryptic law and order SVU Emmys clues,
- 20:43Speaker 1: we can't wait till it's Aries time. March 21st to
- 20:46Speaker 1: April 19th. Could be a hint about when something new
- 20:50Speaker 1: is coming, but also might be something about new beginnings, maybe.
- 20:55Speaker 1: From the Vineyard could deal with Martha's Vineyard or a
- 20:59Speaker 1: bunch of vineyards in California, but it also could be
- 21:02Speaker 1: symbolic of growth and cycles of life. Oh, yeah. North
- 21:06Speaker 1: and south are directions. yes they are be like deciding
- 21:12Speaker 1: between two different paths but it's probably not literal north
- 21:16Speaker 1: and south it also could be like latitude points to
- 21:20Speaker 1: where she's she now owns her music so she can
- 21:23Speaker 1: do whatever she wants she can go north she can
- 21:25Speaker 1: go south she can release whatever she wants whenever she
- 21:27Speaker 1: wants or i don't know what any of this means
- 21:29Speaker 1: or it could all mean nothing That would actually be
- 21:33Speaker 1: pretty funny, too, if the whole thing was just to
- 21:36Speaker 1: send everybody in a tizzy, you know? A little bit
- 21:39Speaker 1: on the award show could all mean absolutely nothing. It
- 21:44Speaker 1: could have been. Could have been. But it's just, it's
- 21:46Speaker 1: amazing that Taylor Swift did a big Emmy Awards, you know?
- 21:49Speaker 1: It's like all this TV and stuff and everything. She
- 21:51Speaker 1: shows up in a Law & Order skit. Says four words.
- 21:54Speaker 1: seems to be what most people are talking about this
- 21:57Speaker 1: morning all right we got a round to say something
- 21:59Speaker 1: nice coming up next here on the show get some
- 22:01Speaker 1: positivity also your chance at Wiz Khalifa tickets around 8
- 22:05Speaker 1: 30 it's Mikey and Bob 96 one kiss Taylor Swift
- 22:12Speaker 1: with her special Law & Order SVU skit appearance at
- 22:15Speaker 1: the Emmys last night. She was also at Monday Night
- 22:18Speaker 1: Football to watch her now-husband, Travis Kelsey, the Chiefs, beat
- 22:22Speaker 1: the Broncos last night. It is Mikey and Bob here
- 22:25Speaker 1: on 96.1 KISS. Let's get to this talkback message real
- 22:27Speaker 1: quick before we do a quick round of Say Something Nice.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Talkback message is brought to us by The Pavement Group.
- 22:32Speaker 4: Mikey, Bob, it's your favorite Candyman Dallas.
- 22:36Speaker 11: Mikey, I remember you saying that you thought the Chiefs were.
- 22:40Speaker 12: I'm not even going to make the playoffs this year.
- 22:43Speaker 4: No.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I'm a huge, huge Chiefs fan. Okay. It's last year.
- 22:47Speaker 1: I just have to say that. How about those Chiefs?
- 22:53Speaker 1: I said that last year. And guess what happened last year?
- 22:56Speaker 1: NFL smack talk. Yeah, okay. Gotcha. Hey, everybody, I didn't
- 23:00Speaker 1: make any predictions on this year's NFL season. Last year,
- 23:03Speaker 1: I said the Chiefs wouldn't make the playoffs, and they didn't.
- 23:05Speaker 1: I don't. Smack talk. Hey, I don't have anything this year, okay?
- 23:09Speaker 1: Hold a smack talk. I'm just kidding. If you want
- 23:13Speaker 1: NFL smack talk, you came to the right place. Hey, Yings.
- 23:22Speaker 1: All right. You want to get to around to say
- 23:29Speaker 1: something nice here? We like to do this on the
- 23:31Speaker 1: show because we like to just put the spotlight on
- 23:34Speaker 1: people who I guess deserve it. You know, say something nice.
- 23:38Speaker 1: It could be a member of your family. It could
- 23:40Speaker 1: be me and Bob. If you enjoy the show, it
- 23:42Speaker 1: could just be somebody that did something nice in your neighborhood.
- 23:46Speaker 1: It's time for say something nice. Say something nice. Say
- 23:53Speaker 1: something nice. Hey, guys.
- 23:54Speaker 9: I just want to say something nice.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Say something nice. Oh, what do you want to do?
- 24:04Speaker 12: Say something nice. Say something nice.
- 24:07Speaker 9: Mike at the Toyota Service Center on McKnight Road.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Mike.
- 24:13Speaker 9: Let me just tell you, that man is awesome. He
- 24:16Speaker 9: was in constant contact. They had my car for three months.
- 24:19Speaker 9: I'm not going to get into it.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Three months?
- 24:21Speaker 9: But it was covered under warranty, and there were so
- 24:23Speaker 9: many issues with it going through. And not only was
- 24:27Speaker 9: he super nice the whole time, but he texted me
- 24:30Speaker 9: probably about weekly.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Nice.
- 24:32Speaker 9: He gave a call biweekly just giving me an update.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Hell yeah, Mike.
- 24:36Speaker 9: So, Mike, you're awesome, and I hope that you're– Cats
- 24:41Speaker 9: are doing well.
- 24:41Speaker 1: You know what? I don't know how many cats you have, Mike,
- 24:44Speaker 1: but I have eight, and I hope your cats are
- 24:46Speaker 1: doing well, too.
- 24:46Speaker 9: They also gave me a loaner for that whole time
- 24:48Speaker 9: for like three months. Put like 5,000 miles on that baby.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Nice.
- 24:53Speaker 9: But I just want to also apologize because there was
- 24:56Speaker 9: so much glitter in the loaner from Pride still.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Pride.
- 25:02Speaker 9: Sorry to try to vacuum that out of the seats,
- 25:05Speaker 9: but I really appreciate everything they did at the Toyota
- 25:08Speaker 9: Service Center, especially Mike.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Mike is awesome. Shout out to everybody at the service
- 25:13Speaker 1: center there. And sorry you got to clean up a
- 25:16Speaker 1: bunch of pride glitter that's been there for three months.
- 25:22Speaker 12: Say something nice. Say something nice.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Hey, what up, boys? It's Chef John.
- 25:26Speaker 5: I want to do a little bit of ooey.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Say something nice.
- 25:29Speaker 7: Say something nice.
- 25:30Speaker 1: All right. You want to do a little bit of ooey?
- 25:33Speaker 1: I'm not going to get carried away, but a little
- 25:35Speaker 1: bit of ooey.
- 25:39Speaker 12: Say something nice. Say something nice.
- 25:42Speaker 5: I wanted to say something nice specifically for Mikey. I
- 25:47Speaker 5: know that you've kind of been going through it recently,
- 25:50Speaker 5: and I know that you've received messages like this before.
- 25:54Speaker 5: We know some of what you're going through. We don't,
- 25:55Speaker 5: nor do we need to know everything that's going on.
- 25:59Speaker 5: But what I can say tell you is that, man,
- 26:02Speaker 5: we are just, we're united for you, man. You know,
- 26:05Speaker 5: there's really something powerful about what you and Bob have
- 26:07Speaker 5: built here in this city with this community. And so
- 26:12Speaker 5: much so that when you go through it, you know,
- 26:14Speaker 5: a part of us goes through, goes through it too.
- 26:16Speaker 5: And so, man, we're here for you. We're on your side. Never,
- 26:21Speaker 5: ever feel like you have to go through anything alone,
- 26:24Speaker 5: even though we don't know all the details. We've got
- 26:28Speaker 5: all the love for you, man. So we love you,
- 26:31Speaker 5: and keep fighting the good fight, man.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a nice message. Real nice. We have
- 26:36Speaker 1: built something powerful here. Yeah. It's pretty cool, I think,
- 26:40Speaker 1: the little community we've built. Yeah.
- 26:42Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Community of positivity. Just try to be nice, you know?
- 26:47Speaker 1: Stay positive. That's it. Have a good time.
- 26:54Speaker 12: Say something nice say something nice.
- 26:58Speaker 1: We got a message about love bugs um okay When
- 27:04Speaker 1: I say love bugs, isn't that like a down south thing? Yeah,
- 27:07Speaker 1: it's the love you're thinking. I got the love bugs
- 27:10Speaker 1: down south. They won't stop scratching. I need some lotion
- 27:14Speaker 1: while I got this. All right, we're going to talk
- 27:17Speaker 1: about Florida love bugs coming up next on the show.
- 27:20Speaker 1: It's the worst place to get them. Florida love bugs,
- 27:23Speaker 1: they never go away. Zara Larson is performing at our
- 27:29Speaker 1: sold-out iHeartRadio Music Festival presented by Capital One this Friday

- 27:38Speaker 1: and more. Then Saturday night, it's Benson Boone, Ciara, Lainey Wilson,
- 27:42Speaker 1: LaSara Femme, Major Lazer, Muse, Snoop Dogg, Smashing Pumpkins, and

- 28:10Speaker 1: of The Freak Show. It's time to travel to the
- 28:12Speaker 1: Sunshine State. Yes! It happened again. It's another Florida story.
- 28:17Speaker 1: All right, just real quick, down to Florida we go.
- 28:20Speaker 12: The Florida Highway Patrol is warning drivers about distracted driving
- 28:23Speaker 12: after they see a man driving a GMC Sierra crashed
- 28:26Speaker 12: while trying to put on deodorant.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Yep, he's all up on the media and everything, got
- 28:31Speaker 1: into a big accident trying to swipe the deodorant while driving.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Cautionary tale there. You know, you got to wear the deodorant.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Do you have car deodorant? Can't be stinky. I don't.
- 28:41Speaker 1: I should, but I don't. Well, I mean, we have
- 28:43Speaker 1: our new C. Harper ride, so I haven't put any
- 28:46Speaker 1: car deodorant in. I probably could have found deodorant in
- 28:50Speaker 1: my old car. Pretty sure my wife has purse deodorant.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 28:53Speaker 1: Purse deodorant. That's a pretty common thing. Yeah. I can
- 28:57Speaker 1: find lots of nice smelling things in my wife's purse.
- 29:00Speaker 1: She's got all these sprays and stuff, man. Sometimes I'll
- 29:04Speaker 1: steal a spray. I will. Sometimes I'll steal a spray.
- 29:08Speaker 1: A little body mist for yourself? A little mist. A
- 29:10Speaker 1: little mist, you know? By the way, we also got
- 29:13Speaker 1: this message from down in Florida. Talkback messages brought to
- 29:17Speaker 1: us by One Team Media. Hey, boys.
- 29:18Speaker 7: It's Mama Jules calling from Orlando, Florida.
- 29:22Speaker 6: Listen, I know you guys are big into animal education,
- 29:26Speaker 6: so I wanted to give you a heads up on
- 29:28Speaker 6: something that happens in Florida.
- 29:29Speaker 7: That they don't tell you in the new resident paperwork.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Oh, okay. We have a secret Florida animal that she
- 29:37Speaker 1: wants to tell us about, all right?
- 29:39Speaker 7: Two times. a year, there's this thing called love bugs.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Oh, the Florida love bugs. That just sounds itchy and scratchy,
- 29:47Speaker 1: doesn't it? The Florida love bugs? Yeah, yeah. Sounds like
- 29:50Speaker 1: something you don't want the doctor to sit you down
- 29:53Speaker 1: and tell you you got. Something you get down below.
- 29:55Speaker 1: It sounds like something that you get and you can't
- 29:57Speaker 1: throw back.
- 29:58Speaker 7: That happen. You get swarmed by them. And what they
- 30:01Speaker 7: are is they're insects.
- 30:02Speaker 6: That fly while being attached at the genitals.
- 30:06Speaker 1: No way. There we go. No way. Florida love bugs, man.
- 30:09Speaker 1: They lock in and fly? Yeah, lock in and fly.
- 30:12Speaker 4: Yep.
- 30:12Speaker 1: They go on a little love adventure, bud.
- 30:16Speaker 4: Woo!
- 30:17Speaker 6: Yeah, so they call them love bugs, and they fly
- 30:20Speaker 6: around like that.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:21Speaker 3: And it's disgusting.
- 30:24Speaker 6: Like, they swarm two times a year, and it's happening
- 30:28Speaker 6: right now, and it's disgusting.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:30Speaker 7: Happy birthday, Bob.
- 30:32Speaker 1: Hey, thank you. Not Bob's birthday. That's New Year's Day.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Adult love bugs. I mean, that's not a swarm. That's
- 30:40Speaker 1: a party. They stay connected end-to-end while mating, even during flight.
- 30:46Speaker 1: for several days sometimes oh my god days and then
- 30:53Speaker 1: they can fly while mating and then they splatter into
- 30:56Speaker 1: cars and their bodies are slightly acidic so it can
- 31:00Speaker 1: ruin a car's paint if it's out in like the
- 31:02Speaker 1: sun for too long you imagine that ah Is that your... No, yeah,
- 31:08Speaker 1: it was my love bug impression. Oh, okay. I wasn't
- 31:10Speaker 1: sure if you were driving a vehicle that had Florida
- 31:13Speaker 1: love bugs splattered on it or if you were just... No,
- 31:15Speaker 1: it was my love bug mating call. Oh, okay. That's
- 31:18Speaker 1: how you hear them coming at your car. All right,
- 31:20Speaker 1: hold on. Who's ready for an educational adventure in nature?
- 31:24Speaker 1: Didn't know I had these. So now we have decided
- 31:26Speaker 1: to make sweet love and share their beautiful song with
- 31:29Speaker 1: the world. It's time for Animal Mating Noises with Mikey
- 31:33Speaker 1: and Bob. The animal mating noises of the Florida love
- 31:38Speaker 1: bug in flight. Sometimes they can do that for days.
- 31:53Speaker 1: It's Florida making the show once again. All right. Me
- 32:02Speaker 1: and Bob got a message a couple days ago that
- 32:05Speaker 1: sort of something like we've never experienced before for our show.
- 32:09Speaker 1: It sort of stopped us in our tracks. And I
- 32:11Speaker 1: will throw out the warning here that what we're about
- 32:14Speaker 1: to hear and talk about is a pretty heavy subject
- 32:20Speaker 1: matter that has to do with self-harm and stuff like that.
- 32:26Speaker 1: September is National Suicide Prevention Month, so Uh, if you
- 32:31Speaker 1: ever feel like you're in a dark place, if you
- 32:33Speaker 1: ever feel like you need to reach out and ask
- 32:36Speaker 1: for help, you can text or call nine, eight, eight,
- 32:40Speaker 1: 24 hours a day, seven days a week in the
- 32:42Speaker 1: U S and in Canada. Um, just, we all go
- 32:46Speaker 1: through things and national suicide prevention month is this month
- 32:50Speaker 1: and want to make sure that everybody is, uh, is around,
- 32:55Speaker 1: you know? Uh, so we got a message a couple
- 32:58Speaker 1: of days ago and, um, It was just a really
- 33:01Speaker 1: hard message for us to hear and really sort of
- 33:05Speaker 1: hit close to us here.
- 33:06Speaker 11: Hey, Mikey and Bob, it's Megan from Alberta, Canada, calling.
- 33:09Speaker 11: A few years ago, my then-husband, who you guys knew
- 33:12Speaker 11: as Canadian Bacon Brandon, used to message the show and
- 33:15Speaker 11: interact with you guys on socials regularly.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Yeah, Canadian Bacon Brandon, as soon as I hear his name.
- 33:21Speaker 1: Canadian Bacon Brandon. Canadian Bacon Brandon here. Mikey, Bob. Canadian
- 33:26Speaker 1: bacon brand in here. Yeah, that's sort of his cadence
- 33:29Speaker 1: that he used to use on the show.
- 33:31Speaker 11: As a family, we even sent a Canadian care package
- 33:33Speaker 11: down to Ian's with a beaver, Tim Hortons cups, and
- 33:36Speaker 11: our favorite Canadian treats.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I still have my Tim Hortons cup. We still
- 33:40Speaker 1: have the stuffed Canadian beaver here in the studio. I
- 33:43Speaker 1: sent him a bunch of stickers from the show and
- 33:46Speaker 1: a note and everything.
- 33:47Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Yeah, so it was a pretty cool interaction we had
- 33:51Speaker 1: with this family.
- 33:51Speaker 11: We lived in Pittsburgh for five years, and after moving
- 33:54Speaker 11: back to Canada... Listening to your podcast as a family
- 33:57Speaker 11: was really our link back to the Berg when we
- 33:59Speaker 11: felt homesick. Because September is Suicide Prevention Month in both
- 34:03Speaker 11: Canada and the U.S., I wanted to call in and
- 34:05Speaker 11: share some news. Brandon died by suicide this past July.
- 34:09Speaker 11: I'm sharing this to remind everyone that it is absolutely
- 34:12Speaker 11: okay to talk about hard things and ask the difficult questions.
- 34:15Speaker 11: Opening that door might help someone more than you know.
- 34:18Speaker 11: Miss you guys in that beautiful city we are so
- 34:20Speaker 11: proud to call home. Stay safe. Be kind. And in
- 34:23Speaker 11: the words of Mac, love is good. Spread love.
- 34:27Speaker 1: I mean, it's just something we've never dealt with before.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Having somebody who, you know, we knew by name and
- 34:35Speaker 1: Canadian bacon, Brandon. Frequently leave us like talkback messages. And yeah,
- 34:40Speaker 1: like you said, send us care packages from Canada and.
- 34:44Speaker 1: It sucks. Megan said that the little past while hasn't
- 34:48Speaker 1: been easy for any of us, but that's why we
- 34:50Speaker 1: need to talk about it. One of the reasons she
- 34:53Speaker 1: says she loves our shows is because even though we're goofy,
- 34:55Speaker 1: we can talk about the tough stuff too. If her
- 34:58Speaker 1: message helps just one person, some good has come from
- 35:00Speaker 1: all of their struggles. Megan goes on to say, it
- 35:03Speaker 1: was actually my 12-year-old son who brought you guys up
- 35:05Speaker 1: and thought you should know about Brandon. Not exactly sure
- 35:09Speaker 1: what prompted that, but I'm glad he did. I also
- 35:12Speaker 1: thought about messaging before, but wasn't Wasn't sure how to
- 35:15Speaker 1: tell you guys. And as you know, as a parent,
- 35:17Speaker 1: our kids push us to do things that maybe we
- 35:19Speaker 1: can't figure out how to do on our own in
- 35:21Speaker 1: the best way possible. Megan, her message says, thank you, guys.
- 35:27Speaker 1: You always make me smile. Keep doing what you're doing.
- 35:29Speaker 1: And then she says she also joined our Movers Facebook
- 35:33Speaker 1: group and loves seeing all the random things that's posted
- 35:36Speaker 1: in there. And she says it's a great community. So
- 35:40Speaker 1: it's a tough one to take. I mean, thank you
- 35:42Speaker 1: for sharing that with us. And I'm so sorry. I'm
- 35:45Speaker 1: so sorry for your loss. I'm sure you've heard that
- 35:46Speaker 1: a million times, and it doesn't make anything better, but
- 35:49Speaker 1: I am so sorry for your loss. Yeah, Megan and
- 35:53Speaker 1: the family were just thinking about you. It's just tough
- 35:58Speaker 1: to hear that somebody's in such a dark place. But again,
- 36:01Speaker 1: like she said, the reason why she wanted to tell us,
- 36:03Speaker 1: the reason why we're bringing it up now is because
- 36:07Speaker 1: September is National Suicide Prevention Month. And if you do
- 36:10Speaker 1: need help, you need to reach out to somebody again,
- 36:13Speaker 1: you can text or call 988-24-HOURS-A-DAY, seven days a week.
- 36:19Speaker 1: If you need help, reach out to somebody. There is
- 36:22Speaker 1: somebody out there that cares. There is somebody out there
- 36:26Speaker 1: that will help you. Megan, you and your family, we're
- 36:30Speaker 1: thinking about you, sending you all the thoughts and good vibes.
- 36:32Speaker 1: And yeah, Canadian Bacon Brandon, man. Hey, she did it.
- 36:43Speaker 1: Ella Langley has tied Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas. Yeah,
- 36:48Speaker 1: clap it off for Ella Langley. Choosing Texas has been
- 36:52Speaker 1: number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 22 weeks. Crazy.
- 36:54Speaker 8: It now ties.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Mariah's Christmas song for the most weeks at number one.
- 37:03Speaker 1: I mean, Mariah's coming. Mariah's going to get a couple weeks.
- 37:07Speaker 1: It's about to be her time. She's going to get
- 37:09Speaker 1: a number one again. But hell, we're on. But Ella Langley, yeah.
- 37:14Speaker 1: I mean, Ella Langley might have another week or two
- 37:15Speaker 1: with Choose in Texas.
- 37:17Speaker 13: Who knows?
- 37:18Speaker 1: But congrats to Ella Langley. I saw here Billboard is
- 37:21Speaker 1: also estimating that Ella Langley has generated about $ 14 million
- 37:28Speaker 1: from streams and video streams and just sales of Choose
- 37:33Speaker 1: in Texas, just under $ 14 million. And how much is
- 37:37Speaker 1: it made just from being played on the radio? Because,
- 37:41Speaker 1: I mean, we play it and country music stations play it.
- 37:45Speaker 1: And in the U.S. alone, Choose in Texas has generated
- 37:50Speaker 1: Just around $ 10. 5 million for Ella Langley. We're all going
- 37:56Speaker 1: to learn something together right now. It's time to find
- 38:00Speaker 1: out why the hell is this trending with Mikey and Babs.
- 38:04Speaker 1: I'm going to try to do this as quickly and
- 38:06Speaker 1: painlessly as possible. For those people who don't know what
- 38:10Speaker 1: is going on with... Macklemore and Ed Sheeran and pink
- 38:16Speaker 1: and Patriots owner, Robert craft and some of the other
- 38:20Speaker 1: NFL owners. This is a story that definitely blew up yesterday.
- 38:24Speaker 1: It started when Macklemore who's opening up for Ed Sheeran
- 38:28Speaker 1: on his, uh, us tour was at MetLife stadium and
- 38:32Speaker 1: shouted free Palestine, criticized Israel. And then he performed his
- 38:36Speaker 1: protest song, uh, Heinz hall in front of, um, different
- 38:42Speaker 1: imagery used like that had to do with like Gaza
- 38:45Speaker 1: and everything like that. So then pro-Israel organizations are like, yo, Macklemore,
- 38:50Speaker 1: what are you doing? Even Pink decided to tap in
- 38:55Speaker 1: because she's Jewish. Robert Kraft, the Patriots owner and billionaire.
- 39:00Speaker 1: uh he's Jewish and he basically told Ed Sheeran like
- 39:05Speaker 1: hey you gotta drop this guy from your tour otherwise
- 39:08Speaker 1: he's not playing in Gillette Stadium and then apparently other
- 39:13Speaker 1: NFL owners whether they talked to Robert Kraft or not
- 39:16Speaker 1: were sort of saying the same thing like all right
- 39:18Speaker 1: he's gonna have Macklemore open up not playing in our
- 39:22Speaker 1: stadium so uh Macklemore was dropped for the tour and
- 39:26Speaker 1: then uh his quote was Ed told me that Kraft
- 39:30Speaker 1: said I would not be able to perform in his
- 39:32Speaker 1: stadium Ed also told me that Kraft had rallied some
- 39:35Speaker 1: of the other stadium owners and collectively gave them an
- 39:37Speaker 1: ultimatum if Macklemore stays on the tour you will not
- 39:41Speaker 1: be allowed to play in our venues Robert Kraft, who,
- 39:45Speaker 1: of course, prominent Jewish man, said Gillette Stadium has a
- 39:49Speaker 1: longstanding commitment to providing a welcoming environment for all our
- 39:52Speaker 1: guests and ensuring that events held at our venue do
- 39:54Speaker 1: not provide a platform for hate speech. And based on
- 39:58Speaker 1: Macklemore's recent actions, we determined that his participation. was unacceptable
- 40:04Speaker 1: now pink got involved in it when mac lamore did
- 40:07Speaker 1: the first free palestine thing she posted last weekend he
- 40:11Speaker 1: stood in front of a stadium full of music loving
- 40:12Speaker 1: families with violent images from a war on the screens
- 40:16Speaker 1: dedicated a song to the movement of his choice then
- 40:18Speaker 1: took the mic to tell all jews in the stadium
- 40:20Speaker 1: that it wasn't about them you don't get to decide
- 40:23Speaker 1: that for us and then there's ed sheeran who ed
- 40:25Speaker 1: sheeran seems to probably be in the middle of this
- 40:27Speaker 1: going ah Oh, boy. Ed's just trying to fill stadiums
- 40:31Speaker 1: and have fun. Yeah, the problem is, though, is like
- 40:33Speaker 1: now you're in the middle of it. You know, what
- 40:36Speaker 1: do you do now? Macklemore apparently said about Ed Sheeran,
- 40:41Speaker 1: Ed was in a bleeped-up position. His typical apolitical stance
- 40:45Speaker 1: was being challenged in a way it never had before.
- 40:48Speaker 1: He told me the words free Palestine and the image
- 40:51Speaker 1: of the Palestinian flag were hurtful to a lot of
- 40:53Speaker 1: people he spoke with, so... I think Macklemore always planned
- 40:59Speaker 1: on doing this and getting political. I think he was
- 41:02Speaker 1: going to use his platform opening up for Ed Sheeran.
- 41:06Speaker 1: And I don't think he planned on being on this
- 41:09Speaker 1: tour for the long haul. Probably not. I think he
- 41:12Speaker 1: knew what he was going to do. It would get
- 41:14Speaker 1: a certain reaction. I think he probably didn't think it
- 41:17Speaker 1: would get this far. It's like Robert Kraft stopping him.
- 41:20Speaker 1: He probably got a better reaction than he thought. Brought
- 41:23Speaker 1: way more attention to Macklemore.
- 41:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Yeah. Haven't heard much about Macklemore lately. And this controversy
- 41:30Speaker 1: is the most we're hearing about him in a while. So, yeah,
- 41:36Speaker 1: it's tough with our country, worldwide politics and everything. You
- 41:41Speaker 1: put your opinions out there. Some people are going to
- 41:44Speaker 1: like it. Some people aren't going to like it. Ed
- 41:46Speaker 1: Sheeran's just standing around just going, I'm just trying to
- 41:48Speaker 1: play my music, man. Ed Sheeran is just standing around like,
- 41:52Speaker 1: I don't need to be in the middle of all this. Also,
- 41:54Speaker 1: Ed Sheeran can, you know, he's played stadiums. he doesn't
- 41:57Speaker 1: need Macklemore as part of anything. No, if Macklemore, when
- 42:01Speaker 1: Macklemore is off the tour, this was a gift for
- 42:03Speaker 1: Macklemore who hasn't had a real song in like 15 years.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Might've been a good gift for Ed Sheeran too. It's
- 42:08Speaker 1: just like, all right, everybody, I'm not going to make
- 42:11Speaker 1: you sit through Macklemore. Yeah. I know there's that too,
- 42:15Speaker 1: but obviously it's a heavy situation with a lot of political, uh, uh,
- 42:19Speaker 1: opinions in there. And, uh, You know, I'm just usually
- 42:23Speaker 1: never on the side of Robert Kraft, the owner of
- 42:27Speaker 1: the Patriots. But yes, Macklemore is officially now off the
- 42:32Speaker 1: Ed Sheeran tour. And I don't know if they replace
- 42:35Speaker 1: him or like you said, just Ed Sheeran goes about
- 42:37Speaker 1: his tour. But that is some of the controversy that's
- 42:40Speaker 1: happening with all the names I just mentioned there. All right. Dude. Hey,
- 42:50Speaker 1: congrats to Suzanne from Clinton. Suzanne! Smoked out Suzanne's going
- 42:57Speaker 1: to see Wiz Khalifa. Wiz Khalifa's playing the new venue,
- 43:00Speaker 1: Citizens Live at the Wiley on a Friday night, October 2nd.
- 43:03Speaker 1: You can get your tickets at Ticketmaster.com. More Wiz Khalifa
- 43:07Speaker 1: tickets tomorrow morning around 8.30. It is Mikey and Bob
- 43:10Speaker 1: here on 96.1 KISS. Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy talking
- 43:14Speaker 1: yesterday to the media. about how he thought his offense did. Obviously,
- 43:18Speaker 1: it wasn't the offensive explosion we all hoped for, but
- 43:21Speaker 1: here's Mike McCarthy on the offense after one week.
- 43:25Speaker 8: I thought the week of training going into it was
- 43:28Speaker 8: a little herky-jerky.
- 43:31Speaker 1: Herky-jerky?
- 43:31Speaker 8: I think I carried over in some parts of the game.
- 43:35Speaker 8: I thought the play caller on offense was herky-jerky. I
- 43:37Speaker 8: didn't think I did a great job getting the players
- 43:41Speaker 8: into a rhythm.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Herky-jerky?
- 43:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:44Speaker 1: What are we trying to do? Are we trying to
- 43:45Speaker 1: force a... a McCarthyism in there? Like what? I think so.
- 43:50Speaker 1: They double herky jerky there, you know, and the offense
- 43:54Speaker 1: isn't going very good. It's a little herky jerky. We're
- 43:56Speaker 1: taking away from the meows and herky jerky. Of course
- 44:02Speaker 1: he was asked, you know, Joey Porter Jr. Whose decision
- 44:06Speaker 1: was it for him to not play on a Sunday?
- 44:09Speaker 8: It was my decision. I'm in charge of the 48.
- 44:12Speaker 8: You have, you have a week of training. Um, We
- 44:15Speaker 8: spoke a couple times last week. My concern for Joey, obviously,
- 44:20Speaker 8: is to get him to a spot no different than
- 44:23Speaker 8: everybody else in training camp.
- 44:24Speaker 1: All right, we've got to stop with the lying here
- 44:27Speaker 1: of just like, you know, I'm getting Joey Porter ready.
- 44:30Speaker 1: I'm just trying to stretch him out, okay? He's got
- 44:32Speaker 1: to ramp up. I swear, if I hear ramp up
- 44:34Speaker 1: one more time, I'm teaching him how to stretch. He's
- 44:37Speaker 1: got to ramp up. It is different that there's a
- 44:38Speaker 1: business component to it. Yeah.
- 44:41Speaker 8: And that's really a whole other topic.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the only topic, really, with Joey Porter Jr.
- 44:47Speaker 1: It's not the health. Yeah, why doesn't he just default
- 44:50Speaker 1: to that and just be like, yeah, I don't deal
- 44:53Speaker 1: with contracts? Well, he starts getting a little annoyed when
- 44:56Speaker 1: somebody asked him yesterday, you know, could the Joey Porter Jr.
- 44:59Speaker 1: situation become a distraction this year? I mean, hey. I mean, listen.
- 45:04Speaker 8: We're preparing to go win our first away game. I
- 45:09Speaker 8: think I've answered your questions. hopefully he gets a step
- 45:13Speaker 8: further being ready to play, and the business situation will
- 45:18Speaker 8: be a business situation. This is the most I've frankly
- 45:20Speaker 8: ever talked about a business situation, so I think I'm
- 45:22Speaker 8: going to stop right here.
- 45:24Speaker 1: I'm going to stop right here. Is he just too
- 45:28Speaker 1: nice to cut reporters off so far? That might be
- 45:31Speaker 1: what it is. He's feeling out. Honeymoon phase still a
- 45:35Speaker 1: little bit. The reporters still got a good rep with
- 45:38Speaker 1: them and everything, and That was a very nice way
- 45:42Speaker 1: of saying I don't want to talk about this crap anymore.
- 45:45Speaker 1: I'm going to stop right here. Hey, things are herky-jerky.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Stop right here before it gets herky-jerky up in here.
- 45:52Speaker 1: Mike McCarthy, I'm just so glad this guy's the Steelers
- 45:54Speaker 1: head coach. It's unbelievable content. It's just a yinzer is
- 45:57Speaker 1: the Steelers head coach, and it's magical. Steelers will be
- 46:02Speaker 1: in New England taking on the Patriots Sunday afternoon. The

- 46:52Speaker 1: Kenny's back. Kenny's back! No! Not Kenny! Kenny Chesney's coming back.
- 46:59Speaker 1: Not a surprise. I'm pretty sure he comes every summer,
- 47:02Speaker 1: but sure. Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Cheryl Crow. Oh, wow.

- 47:22Speaker 1: coming to play Akershire again next summer. It's Mikey and
- 47:26Speaker 1: Bob here on 96.1 KISS. It's always people getting naked,
- 47:29Speaker 1: getting arrested, making the news, and making our show. It's
- 47:32Speaker 1: time for a naked story. Whoa!
- 47:36Speaker 12: It happened again. Someone decided to get naked.
- 47:40Speaker 1: It's time. for another Naked Story on the 96.1 Kiss
- 47:45Speaker 1: Morning Freak Show with Mikey and Big Bab. A 39-year-old
- 47:49Speaker 1: man in Oregon was arrested after police responded to a
- 47:52Speaker 1: report of a naked man on a sidewalk near a
- 47:56Speaker 1: busy intersection around 4.30 in the afternoon. Never a good
- 48:02Speaker 1: time to get naked in public, but middle of the
- 48:05Speaker 1: daytime is not going to keep you hidden very good.
- 48:10Speaker 1: Catching sun? Reporters said that the caller told the dispatcher
- 48:15Speaker 1: that they saw a naked man who was out there.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Here is the quote. Uh-huh. Wiggling it for the world
- 48:22Speaker 1: to see. All right. We got a wiggler out here now,
- 48:26Speaker 1: a nude wiggler. I don't want to merge. How can
- 48:29Speaker 1: I help? He's wiggling it for the world to see. Listen,
- 48:32Speaker 1: sometimes you go to a busy intersection and you'll see
- 48:35Speaker 1: somebody with one of those signs that they're flipping and
- 48:38Speaker 1: whipping around to try to get you into one of
- 48:41Speaker 1: the local businesses.
- 48:42Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
- 48:42Speaker 1: Yeah, this wasn't one of those situations. He was whipping
- 48:46Speaker 1: and flipping something around, but it wasn't for a business.
- 48:48Speaker 1: You think those signs are cool? Wait to see this.
- 48:51Speaker 1: Police showed up and saw the naked guy on the sidewalk.
- 48:55Speaker 1: Police say he was naked and acting erratically. He's whipping
- 49:00Speaker 1: it around. When they showed up, they did not find
- 49:02Speaker 1: his clothes, but the naked man admitted to using. Yeah.
- 49:10Speaker 1: It's math. It's math. It's math. Oh, no. You can't
- 49:15Speaker 1: do the math. Next thing you know, you're whipping and wiggling. Yep. Oh, man.
- 49:19Speaker 1: Sitting out there like you got one of them signs,
- 49:21Speaker 1: but nope. Not a sign. Just out there wiggling yourself.
- 49:28Speaker 1: It's a naked person making the show once again. I
- 49:33Speaker 1: could be the top. Sunday. Our iHeartRadio Music Festival is
- 49:40Speaker 1: back from Vegas, 10 to 30, Friday and Saturday night
- 49:44Speaker 1: here on 96.1 KISS. You can also stream it on
- 49:46Speaker 1: Disney Plus and Hulu. It is Mikey and Bob. Let's
- 49:50Speaker 1: get to another Talk Back message here. It's our friend
- 49:54Speaker 1: Dawn from Trafford here. Good morning, Mikey and Big Bob.
- 49:57Speaker 1: Dawn from Trafford.
- 49:58Speaker 6: Tuesday morning on my way to work, listening to yesterday's podcast.
- 50:03Speaker 1: Just wanted to tell you guys, Teemu. Mike McCarthy took
- 50:07Speaker 1: me out. Oh, my gosh. Tears in my eyes.
- 50:12Speaker 6: I actually had to pull over in Speedway because I
- 50:14Speaker 6: was laughing so hard.
- 50:15Speaker 1: I thought I was going to wreck. Yeah. Somebody made
- 50:19Speaker 1: a comment in the Steelers' Facebook comments after their week
- 50:22Speaker 1: one win against the Falcons that their sister used to
- 50:27Speaker 1: have a crush on Mike McCarthy back in the day
- 50:29Speaker 1: and even married a man that looks like Mike McCarthy,
- 50:32Speaker 1: which we called Timu Mike McCarthy, I believe Mark McCarthy
- 50:36Speaker 1: was the name we came up with. All right. Dawn's
- 50:40Speaker 1: got something else to say here.
- 50:41Speaker 3: Anyway, go Steelers.
- 50:42Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll go Steelers. Hey, Movers.
- 50:45Speaker 6: Just wanted to give a shout out to all the
- 50:46Speaker 6: Movers on Facebook.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Yeah. Love y'all. Love you, Mike and Bob.
- 50:49Speaker 7: Bye.
- 50:49Speaker 1: Yeah, our listeners have created their own Movers group on Facebook.
- 50:53Speaker 1: A lot of them were calling for Weed Nico to
- 50:56Speaker 1: join the Movers page. He is a wonderful guy who
- 51:00Speaker 1: listens to the show all the way on the other
- 51:02Speaker 1: side of the country in the state of Washington. here's
- 51:05Speaker 1: weed nico.
- 51:07Speaker 4: Hey boys weed nico from washington there he is they've
- 51:10Speaker 4: been able to smoke in a week y'all just had
- 51:13Speaker 4: some major dental reconstructive surgery oh no hurting oh no.

- 51:27Speaker 13: but it's been a week so guess who's been cleared
- 51:29Speaker 13: to smoke oh boy Well, sounds like you.
- 51:33Speaker 1: And we're off. There you go. Sounds like you. Welcome back.
- 51:37Speaker 1: We'll take off and blow it out. There you go.
- 51:43Speaker 1: Time to get on that movers page. Time to get
- 51:45Speaker 1: on that movers page, he says, after reintroducing himself to his...
- 51:51Speaker 1: There's medicine there. By the way, speaking of the Movers page,
- 51:54Speaker 1: we got another message from our friend Lauren here.
- 51:57Speaker 2: Hey, guys.
- 51:57Speaker 10: It's your friend Lauren.
- 51:58Speaker 9: In the Movers Facebook group, we had a poll about
- 52:01Speaker 9: what your favorite Bob hyper fixation is.
- 52:03Speaker 1: So here is our top five. Yeah, it's a whole thing.
- 52:06Speaker 1: I'm telling you, man, this community they've created is. I
- 52:09Speaker 1: missed this. Yeah, they did a whole poll when you
- 52:12Speaker 1: had your list of hyperfixations on what were their favorite
- 52:16Speaker 1: hyperfixations of yours. This is a big list for them.
- 52:19Speaker 7: Number five, we have a tie between meats and cinnamon buns.
- 52:23Speaker 1: Ah, meats and cinnamon buns. Big fan. Solid, yeah.
- 52:26Speaker 2: Number four.
- 52:27Speaker 5: Koalas with chlamydia.
- 52:29Speaker 1: Yeah, koalas with chlamydia. Yeah, it's a big hyper fixation
- 52:33Speaker 1: of Bob.
