- 0:53SPEAKER_01: It really was rough.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: It just felt so long.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: It's not even like I always I I think we had this conversation.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: It's not even about the fasting, it's it's uh the food, the cooking.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: You know, the last week of Ramadan, I will tell you, I didn't cook any food.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: We I didn't make a single meal for the last week of Ramadan at home.
- 1:09SPEAKER_00: I was just tired of making food all the time.
- 1:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, we I I still cook.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: No, I did not.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: The last week I was like, I'm done, y'all.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: I tap out.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: I still don't know they don't like uh eating out.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: I don't care.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: I was like, I still gotta buy around anyway.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: I don't care.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: I was like, we figured out otherwise it's just having soup.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: So what else?
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: What's what's been happening?
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: How's how's life?
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: How's it working?
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: You know, life is good, work is good, the kids are good, everything is going great, alhamdulillah.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: I do wanted to I did want to talk about something.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Okay, okay, since you're here and since I have all of you guys here.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: So by the way, before you talk about that thing, like we didn't plan any topic today.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: No, we were just just a catch-up.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: It's just a catch up episode.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: Like, I have a bunch of things I want to talk about.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: So yeah, we did not plan anything, so I'm kind of scared now.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: No, but honestly, thing number one is so like thank you to everybody who's followed us on Instagram and on TikTok and on YouTube.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: We are eternally grateful for your support, for your love.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Definitely.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: And then there are the others.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm gonna call them.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: Oh, you're going there.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you're going there.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: There are people who have made it a point to just go on the space and be negative and be rude and make negative comments.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: We have a friend who was kind enough to like share her culture, her language, her heritage with us.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: And you guys, they're not you guys.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: Not you guys.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: No, I'm sorry.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: I retract that.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Some people, more people out there who are just saying, oh, she's not Moroccan.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's not what we say.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: Uh you're just like invalidating her existence because she doesn't talk the way that you do.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: So, like, that really got on my nerve.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: Just because of one word.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: She said one word differently than the majority of Moroccans and all of us.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: And you know, if we're laughing while we're doing something, we're not making fun of anybody, we're just having a good time.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: So again, I just wanted to do a quick reminder, and I'm gonna stop after this.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna mention anything else.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this is a fun, positive space.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: If we're not talking about what's going on in the world, it's because we mean to not what talk about what's going on in the world.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Um, we just this is light.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: Like we just this you're supposed to come here and hang out with a friend and have a good time and forget the terrible things happening.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: And if you want that kind of podcast, if you want the politics and if you want all the depressing that ain't us, that's not us.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: Go find something else.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: I am here or listen to.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: If I and I like, we'll say this.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: Anything that we say on this podcast is just our opinion.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: It's not fact, it's not fiction, it's just like I mean, we're not lying though.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: It's not fact though.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: It's just my opinion.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: I'm entitled to it.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: The type of podcast, I think sometimes we have to reiterate that, and I feel bad that I have to do this uh on a regular basis, we have to do this on a regular basis because unfortunately a lot of people uh not a lot of people, but some people feel the need to make comments, and I'm just like, this is not the space for it's not like we are not, we never claim to be a political podcast, we never claim to be anything uh uh more than just like Hanan said, a space.
- 3:47SPEAKER_01: Friends hanging out.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and we want you guys to hang out with us.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: If you want that, and like listen, I listen to those podcasts, but I do that, but that's not what this podcast is about.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: Nothing against those podcasts.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: Yes, I want to be uh informed about what's going on.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: What did you say?
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: I said where the people are, you know, like the little remaining.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: I'm just saying, like, this is like we get some criticism sometimes, and it's fine, like we're okay with constructive criticism, totally, but you guys have to understand what's going on.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: Talk to me about my yeah, talk, talk to me about my lighting, talk to me about you know, giving me topic ideas.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, tell me I'm boring and you'd like to see more of something.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: I will take all of that happening.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but we're not a political, like I really we have to, it's sad that we have, and I feel like sometimes we mean Han even debate.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: Like, should we even bring it up?
- 4:28SPEAKER_01: Because we don't want to come off as, you know, uh a lecturing or it's just this is you guys have to understand what this podcast is about.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: It's not a political podcast, it's not meant to be serious, it's meant to be a space where it's safe and it's for fun and a good time.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: And and as Arab Americans and and and how we are and how we live our life.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: It's not meant to be a serious place.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: Sometimes we will occasionally on the on the sometimes there are occasions where we feel the need we have to say something, but in general, it's a fun space, exactly.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: And it's exactly and you know, honestly, one of my colleagues slash friends, uh, her and I were talking about this very specific thing, and she said, you know what?
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: She's like, don't even let it bother you because she's like, I listen to you guys because it's not serious.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: And so I love that.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Anyways, that's enough about that.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: I don't want to have this conversation again.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't want to bring this up again.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: Seriously.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: Okay, please.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: In other, in other, in, in other fun, um, fun related news, we just closed out Arab American Heritage Month.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: That was awesome.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Um, my husband was doing the most.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Uh he I saw some posts of his.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: He does he does he does a really good thing.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: He's really passionate about that kind of stuff.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: And I and I and I love him for that.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: And also another fun thing that happened in the last um to close out Arab American Heritage Month, not related, kind of related, not really.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Was Lena going to the White House correspondence dinner?
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: She does that every year, though.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: You posted a picture of me.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: I did gram.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: You need to include a picture of me.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'll put a picture of me.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: She met John Legend.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: I did meet John Legend.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: He's really sweet.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: He's really nice.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: And John Justin Thoreau.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: Is that who you're doing?
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Justin Thoreau.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: Justin Thoreau, yeah.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: Like I recognized him, but I didn't, I couldn't remember.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: So be so so so let's let me ask you a serious question.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: She recognized him because he's Jennifer Aniston's ex or because he's Justin Thoreau.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: I'll be honest.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: Like someone pointed out to me.
- 6:12SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh, okay.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: I'm like, all right, let me go say hi to him.
- 6:14SPEAKER_01: He was really nice.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: But no, John Legend, obviously, I didn't need anyone to explain to me who that was.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: His wife was there too.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: She was really but she was talking to a few people, so I didn't want to like.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: I love her.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: She's the ultimate, like, like, like penultimate in like online humor.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: I freaking love her.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: But even her, you know, people drove her off of Twitter.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: Like, I wanted to go talk to her, but she has so many people around her.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I'm not gonna do that to her.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: Like, like uh uh John, we're on a first name, and I'm just kidding.
- 6:39SPEAKER_01: He was he had he was like free, so like I'll go talk to him.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: But I didn't I didn't want to like bother her because she had like four or five people around her already.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I didn't want to be that person.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: But I do, but it's okay, I would have been that person.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: I asked Lena, I was like, you know what?
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: Lena goes to this thing every year and she's like, never takes me.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: My husband took me like twice.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: No, but he took you to the other one, not the white.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: Did he take you to the White House?
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: I took me, he took me to the White House once and he took me to the radio television correspondence.
- 7:03SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: Who did so?
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: Last year I saw Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson that were still together.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: Um no, I just I would have been so happy to meet John Legend.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, John Legend just I was good.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I was telling my friends who came with me, like my colleagues, I was like, as long as I got to meet him, yeah, I'm good.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: Like the night has it, it was just I'm good.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: Like we can leave now.
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's honestly last year.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: Last year, uh I met Martha Stewart.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: Amazing.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she was like she's kind of full of herself, but she was nice and I would be full of myself too if I was more too.
- 7:34SPEAKER_01: But she's cool, she took a picture with me and she spoke to me, so that was cool.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: And then um, I also uh met Fat Joe.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: Didn't she meet Diane Lane and not know who she was?
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: I'm like, because we were walking and it's like really tight in there, and I'm just like trying to get to my table.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: And this lady, me and her were both trying to maneuver the the like around the table.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm like we're looking at it and she's like, I don't know how to.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: I'm like, me neither.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: I'm like, wait a second, aren't you Jessica Lane?
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: And then she's like, she's like, no, but Jessica's a really good friend of mine.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh my god, I'm so sorry.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: She's like, I'm Diane Lane.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh my god, I'm really sorry, I'm really sorry.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: She's like, Don't worry, she was the sweetest.
- 8:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I love that lady, like ever since meeting her there.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Of course.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Isn't it funny how you met her one time?
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: But that impression, you're like, okay, you're making it.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: She was so sweet and she didn't like take offense for me getting her name wrong.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: I'm just like, there's there's you know that kind of generation where I'm just like, oh, Jessica Land, I thought I was so cool.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: Like I knew I remembered her name, right?
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: And then she's like, no, but this attack.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: At least you didn't say Angela Lansberry or something like that.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, no, no, but she was really sweet and she took a picture with me.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: And there's a picture, I think you remember.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: She's like looking at me so lovingly.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: She's that was that was that was awesome.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: But yeah, Lena got to got to do that.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: I told her, I'm like, next time there's an opportunity, I'll definitely I want to go because I think it would be amazing.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: Two, I feel like she could find a way to get us into the Matt Gala.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: That's that's a bit difficult.
- 8:53SPEAKER_01: The Matt Gala is a whole different situation, Henan.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: I want to go to the Matt Gala.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: Okay, anybody out there that like listens to us and has any kind of insider info on how to get me to the Mat Gala, oh my God, I would for be forever indebted to you to get me to the Mat Gala.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: Wouldn't we have to wear like weird outfits?
- 9:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that was Lena's first question.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: Is it what are we wearing?
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: I'm like, what do you mean?
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: Who cares what we wear?
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: He says if we already got tickets and we're going to get out of here.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 9:15SPEAKER_01: What are we wearing?
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: It's fine.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: Have you seen the outfits from the game?
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: Of course.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: I was just telling my husband the other day.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I absolutely one of my favorite like red carpets, not really red, but because the carpets change colors, right?
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: Um at the Met Gala.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: But I love looking at Met Gala fashion.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: I just think it's so Some of it is ridiculous though.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: But that's that's that's the whole point.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: It's unexpected.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: Like what what Jared Lotto was wearing.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: Come on, man.
- 9:39SPEAKER_01: He was supposed to be Carl Lografo's cat.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: I don't like him.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: You don't have to like him.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: He's just so strange.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: Like I don't get good vibes from that guy.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Okay, you don't have to know nothing about him to have good or bad vibes.
- 9:50SPEAKER_00: He's just weird.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: I think he's great.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: I I could care less what people are wearing, what people are doing.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: I think the whole I think the whole thing is really for fun.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: But Cardi B's outfits were were awesome.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she was fire.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: She's always fire.
- 10:01SPEAKER_01: She had like three outfits, right?
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: The fact that I know this is really her outfit, her like her red carpet look was fire.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: Rihanna's red carpet look was fire.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: I didn't see Rihanna's outfit.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: Uh what's his name?
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: Oh God.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Why am I getting what a this is terrible?
- 10:16SPEAKER_02: Who?
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: Um Pedro Pascal.
- 10:18SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 10:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: Love the shorts.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: Loved the shorts.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, in general, Matt Gala fashion, absolutely love.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, but I don't think we're gonna be getting tickets anymore.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: Okay, well, we might.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: I mean, maybe, who knows?
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: Let's manifest this, let's put this out into the world, okay?
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: So that's I'm still worried.
- 10:33SPEAKER_01: Like the only thing that concerns me is the what the hell am I gonna wear?
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: We'll figure it out.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna bust out with a Palestinian though.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: It might be part of the theme.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna be like, hey.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: I mean, and honestly, like I know we're gonna have people who are like, oh my god, I don't agree with the theme of the I don't care about the theme.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Um that's not what I'm talking about.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: I'm just talking about going to the Met Gala, like being be able to walk the carpet, like wear crazy fashion.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: Like, I get it.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: This year's theme was um uh Carl Carl Lagerfeld.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like yeah, the guy was he's obsessed with his cat.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: Shoupet was, yeah.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: But whatever.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: I mean, like, yeah, a lot of people say like the guy was a total dick, but like I don't care.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm not here to I'm just not there for that.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: I just want to have a good time, okay, guys.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: I just want to have a good time.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: Is that terrible for me to call a dead person that?
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, I mean, if he was a jerk, he was a jerk.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, true.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: He was a jerk.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: A lot of people said he was just a jerk.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: A lot of people really liked him, but a lot of people also said he was a jerk.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: Like, how was he?
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: I heard jerk, but what were the details of his jerky?
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Like that he was a little racist.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: Okay, then after that.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: That he was uh like a fat shamer, like a body shamer.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: Things like that.
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: So me and you would probably not even make it.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: We're not gonna be invited.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: Okay, yeah.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't know.
- 11:40SPEAKER_01: I'm not like that kind of stuff, just I mean, it'll be I think it would be like an amazing once-in-a-lifetime experience.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's true.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: Listen, we're gonna try to get more tables next year to the White House correspondence.
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: If if we do, I'm going to put you, I will dump my husband for you.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, who's gonna be more fun at this event for you?
- 11:57SPEAKER_01: But I've taken you.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: You've been my plus one in other work events.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: It was like the Christmas party.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: That sucks.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: Like, you know.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: I don't want to go to the Christmas party.
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: I want to go to the White House correspondence too.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: You really think you're gonna have more fun with your husband as your date than me as your date?
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: Definitely not.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: Definitely not.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: I think I'm gonna be a blast.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: No, we're not afterwards.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: And we're gonna be a blast together.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: We should have like my matching outfits.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: We would have matching outfits.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: And then we're gonna have matching out.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, I have a whole plan for us.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: And I just want to thank Henan on here.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: Uh she did my makeup and she did my hair.
- 12:27SPEAKER_01: Okay, I'll put I'll post pictures.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: No, she looked really cute.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, she looked like herself, which is like.
- 12:31SPEAKER_01: My mom called me when I was there and she thought, because I had posted something.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: She thought I had finished.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: She's like, oh, hallo.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, listen, we haven't even started.
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: She's so cute.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: And she's like, You look so nice.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: I love the dress.
- 12:40SPEAKER_01: You look amazing.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: The dress was fire.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: The dress was fire.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: I had two options, and everybody picked that one except except my daughter.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: No, that dress was disappointed.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: But then after she, she's like, you know what, Mama, I'm gonna have to pick up.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: So here's the thing like I told Lena, because Lena's all like into like modest attire.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: She doesn't like she doesn't really show up.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: Oh, she's cool.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, love her, it's her style.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: So I was like, dude, ASOS, and I don't know if you any if for the folks who don't know Asos, Asos is an English high street brand, which is kind of like fast fashion, right?
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: Um it's really nice, it's so comfortable.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: They make so they have so many modest options, it's not even funny.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: I like I saw this dress and I was like, Lena, this dress is gonna look fire on you.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: It's gonna look so good.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: And it did.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: The shade of blue, and you're gonna pop in a picture.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, it was just chef's kiss.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: It was so good against her pale skin.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: I don't see that scene, but it was like really I know, but it really worked with her undertones because Lena has really like pink undertones, and the dress was this beautiful, rich navy blue.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's like a mix between navy blue and teal.
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, kind of, but it just it really complemented her undertones, her hair.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: It just looked so good on.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: And she had all silver accessories, which were again so good.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: I like simple simplicity is best for me.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: That's that's just my style.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: But um, yeah, whereas I'm you can tell from our attire today.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I this is me in a nutshell.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: And I have like a bunch of black shirts and sweatshirts in my closet.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: It's funny because I was wearing a black shirt and then I looked at it, I was like, No, I'm gonna change.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: And then I came back downstairs and I was like, oh, this is much more.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: We need some color in this.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, like the only thing is I don't know how to do my makeup like you do my makeup for me.
- 14:17SPEAKER_01: It's okay.
- 14:18SPEAKER_01: We'll get there.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: We'll get there.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: I mean, like I'm going overseas this summer.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: Like, how how am I gonna like you know manage?
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: Yes, guys, Lena's going to Palestine this summer.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, man, it's I can't wait.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: Inshallah, like we go, we have fun.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: You're gonna have a great time.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: The situation is uh it's hopefully it's not completely out of control.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: No, it won't be out of control, it's gonna be amazing.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: But I'm really looking forward to it.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: It's been six years.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: That's a long time.
- 14:41SPEAKER_01: Six years, and you know, I wanted to go, but then the pandemic I know, I know, you know, and that's it.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: It's okay, it's gonna be great.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: You're gonna Yeah, the kids are really excited, but like the like Jerusalem inshallah is on my list.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: That's awesome.
- 14:53SPEAKER_01: It shouldn't be.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: But the problem is I have to get a permit.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: I know, you know, so hopefully they give me.
- 14:59SPEAKER_01: They will.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, like I the now is is the planning time.
- 15:05SPEAKER_01: And I was telling you yesterday, I'm like, I don't know how we're gonna manage this podcast until I leave.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: We are gonna get it done.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: We're gonna do a couple more.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: No, we're gonna get it done.
- 15:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're gonna but we'll we'll post like social media.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we're yeah, we're always active on social media.
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: It's just the long episodes is really where we're we were kind of like missing in action after Ramadan.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, you guys Ramadan for us to get back into the groove of things.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: But it's not just hard to get back to the group of things, it's just Ramadan, like like I feel like look, here's the thing.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: I schedule completely changed.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the schedule, the schedule was nuts, but I this year for some weird, strange reason, I was talking about it with one of my friends at with Iman, and her and I kind of agreed that this year was really tough for the both of us from a um just from like a scheduling perspective.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: And being exhausted, I felt exhausted all the time.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: It was so weird.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: I've never felt like that.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: I think it's the lack of sleep.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: I know it was kind of crazy.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and did you watch any Musal Salat?
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: You know, no, I didn't.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: I did not.
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm like I was telling Hanam that.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: But I did pray tattoo, yeah.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: You did high five! Oh yeah, we didn't talk about what we did and we did it.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: So you did it every day?
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: No, not every day.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: Okay, almost every day.
- 16:08SPEAKER_01: Okay, almost that's good, better than last year.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: But way better than last year.
- 16:11SPEAKER_01: I did finish the Quran again.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: That's awesome.
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: Mabruk.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: That's wonderful.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: So that's we both uh we both, yeah, we both kind of met our goals.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: My whole thing is like to just, like I said, focus on my ibadah during Ramadan, and I feel like this year was really good.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: Alhamdulillah.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: Like I can't.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, that's awesome.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: I just it I could always be better, and I always try to be better.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: But at the same time, I'm like, at least I'm trying, right?
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: Like alhamdulillah, at least I'm trying.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: So uh baby steps.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: Even though, according to some people online, you know, whatever it is, my views on Islam are all whack, but that's a conversation for another time.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: That's yeah, that's a conversation for another time.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, whatever.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: Whatever.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: I am here to spread love, fun, joy, and happiness.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we're not gonna get into the details of that.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, anyways, but yeah, uh, so yeah, I did, I I came to the conclusion.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: There was a Syrian Musal Salad, my sister told me about.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: And then I stopped watching halfway through.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: I told her, I was like, wow.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: You're really heavy.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: Why would you recommend this to me?
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: Like, okay, I'm okay with one heavy one, but like it's so depressing.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: Like nothing ever good, like nothing good ever happens.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I didn't do any Musal Salat.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: I just did not have the energy.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: And I'm just like, like, and the one we were watching together last year.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: So I'm watching, and it's so stressful, it's stress-inducing, but I'm just like, oh my god, like my I can feel like the pressure.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: I know we got a time for that.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: I know we got time for that.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: I can't, I can't with uh with the depress depressing stuff, man.
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: Like, like, okay, give me some, but give me some positive stuff too.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I agree.
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: No, I 100% agree with you.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: You know, and then I finished it, and then there's another there's gonna be another season, by the way.
- 17:38SPEAKER_01: FYI.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: I can't, I'm done.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: Like at like uh like the last two episodes, I'm like, nothing's been resolved.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: I am done.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: No, you should watch it.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: Come on, so we can talk about it.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: I know, we'll see.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: I don't even see how I feel.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, maybe before you go overseas, I'll I'll get it done too.
- 17:51SPEAKER_01: Or while I'm at overseas, because we won't be filming.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: That's true, that's true.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: I need to know what like everybody's summer plans are gonna be.
- 17:57SPEAKER_01: What are your plans?
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: Nothing.
- 17:59SPEAKER_01: Nothing?
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: Nothing this summer, no.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: I went to Egypt during the winter and I was gone for three weeks.
- 18:04SPEAKER_00: So and then my husband is doing some travel for work this summer, so it's just me and my kids.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm sure we'll do stuff, it'll just be like around town stuff.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, I'm going inshallah uh to Palestine.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: Uh you got it for five weeks, right?
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: Six.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: Six weeks.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: Six weeks, yeah.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: I wanted eight.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: Walk was like, no.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: I would have said no to eight weeks.
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: My God.
- 18:25SPEAKER_01: They're like, no, that's the big one.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: I hope you're giving buffer time at the like when you come back.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: I'll be there for six weeks, inshallah.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: And then I have like four or five days after I come back just for the jet lag and everything.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: Um, but I'm I'm looking forward to it.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: The hard part now is you know how it is.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: Like you're preparing, and I haven't been there in six years, and you know, no one's asking for anything.
- 18:46SPEAKER_01: Everyone's so sweet, but I'm like, no, I can't like come empty-handed.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: So I'm bugging them to tell me what they want.
- 18:50SPEAKER_01: So they finally agreed.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: So now I'm in the process of buying all this stuff, and thank God for online shopping.
- 18:55SPEAKER_01: Seriously.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: Uh-uh.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: Like, I can't find anything when you act when I actually go physically to the mall.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: Do you have this problem?
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: I I I very so like I go to the mall, but I go to like return stuff.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: I don't go to the money.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, me too.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: Like, I went to the mall the other day and just returned a bunch of stuff because I'm like, no.
- 19:09SPEAKER_00: No, it's really weird.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: Like, I agree with you.
- 19:11SPEAKER_00: I don't think I find the same amount, like no.
- 19:13SPEAKER_00: I I honestly, and it's been like that since the pandemic.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, it's just it's weird.
- 19:18SPEAKER_00: You don't find the same amount of like inventory in the store that you would online.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: So I and yeah, there's there's a lot to be uh be said for that.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: But yeah, preparing to go overseas is um it's both exact exciting and exhausting.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: And I'm gonna try to take you guys with me.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna try to do some stuff.
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: I think it would be really fun for everybody to experience things like you know, inside Jerusalem.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: Yes, inshallah.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: For people to experience, you know, your your awesome hometown.
- 19:42SPEAKER_01: Because the Israeli military has to approve my my permit.
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: But you know, what are you gonna do?
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: Nothing.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm gonna be the first thing I apply for inshallah once I get there, so I can take the kids.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: Well, I took them last time and I had to get a permit.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but I feel like last time they were little.
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but now like I also want to take them to other like towns in Philadelphia, like in Palestine, and just show them around.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: Um, it'll be great if I can take them to Haifa, for example.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't know how the permit situation works.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: I don't know either.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: I'm the last person that really would take this question.
- 20:14SPEAKER_01: I know I know people there, I I have a couple friends there that can help you out to help me figure out, like navigate the whole situation.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, like I'm I'm excited about it, a little worried.
- 20:24SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna lie, because like the whole thing.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: Oh, like just the political situation.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I just you know it's uh yeah, it's weird.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: It's like when you when you look at like um what's going on in like Israeli politics, it does make me feel really unfortunate.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm not like I'm not worried or scared for my safety, like that's not the thing.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: It's just like I just noticed.
- 20:41SPEAKER_00: But you worry about instability.
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: I think like if it's one thing when it's I would say it's one thing when you're just you, yeah, but when you're mom, when you have your kids with you, things are just a whole different yeah.
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: But then again, like this is what Palestinians live uh through every day.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: So inshallah, inshallah.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: Like I'm I'm I'm praying and hoping that it goes well.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: No, it will it will it will go extremely well, inshaAllah.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: You gotta come with me next time.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: I know it's been a while.
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's been a long time 2006.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: It's been a long time.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: Maybe next time you come with me, we we stop by somewhere.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: We go to Egypt.
- 21:13SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'll do it.
- 21:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you heard it here first fast.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: I'll do it.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: I mean, the podcast is going out the road.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't know, but yeah, we should.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: I think it would be amazing.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: Like Bahdi was like, I want to like at one point because he's obsessed with this.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: She's like, I want to go see the pyramids.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: I'm like, honey, not now.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: I'm like, the situation.
- 21:29SPEAKER_01: No, because you know, you know the situation, how it was.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: Actually, no, it's actually pretty amazing.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: It's not because of that, but like like where I'm employed.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: So like I'm like, it's not safe for me.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: I'm like, you can go with Khalto Hanan.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but honestly, but now the situation is over.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: Now it's you, you it's not even a problem anymore.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think it's totally fine.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: I think it's uh it's no, it's a hundred percent fine.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: They will happily take your your we should plan it.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: Once we come back from Palestine, you get you we gotta plan a exactly, exactly.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: Maybe not this year, but next year.
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: Inshallah.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: What else did you want to talk about?
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Anything else I want to ask?
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: Yes, so I have a question for you.
- 22:02SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: For me or the the audience?
- 22:05SPEAKER_00: Well, for the audience, for you.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: And I would love to hear everybody's feedback, right?
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: Do you believe that men and women can have purely platonic relationships without catching feelings?
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: Can it ever just purely stay platonic forever?
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, yeah, in general.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: You thought about that too hard.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: You ha I feel like you have more to say.
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: Well, it depends.
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: I mean, like if if if you I I think when you're with someone already, like if you're if you have a uh significant other, yeah, and and you are friends with another guy and you're secure in your relationship.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: I mean, why wouldn't you be able to be friends with the other person?
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: I think if you're both single, that's a different situation.
- 22:45SPEAKER_01: I think it changes.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: I don't think so, actually.
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: I think it just depends.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: Because I feel like so I'm like a firm believer of like having multiple soulmates, right?
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: Like like getting a lot of people.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: I don't believe in this soulmate business.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: No, I do.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: I feel like your your being connects with another being and like it's this weird thing where do you think they can be platonic or they cannot?
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: Oh, I absolutely think they can be platonic.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: I think you can 100% have because I know people, some people are like, no, at some point what somebody's gonna catch feelings.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, no, I don't think so.
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: I mean, I've had guy friends and I never caught feelings.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we were having we were having this, sorry, we were having a discussion a few days ago, me and like a group of people, and I I was like pretty adamant.
- 23:26SPEAKER_00: I'm like, no, I I think you can have relationships that are 100% button.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: They're like, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: No.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: No, I think you can't somebody will always catch feelings.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: And I I've just I just worried about that.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's uh I think it depends on the situation.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: I mean, I can't, I can't say one way or the other, honestly.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: I mean, I can I can say yes, you can.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, I think you like listen, for me, absolutely.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, personally speaking, I can be friends with the opposite sex without having any kind of it's not even that.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: It's like I can just be friends and we're good and it's not a problem or anything like that.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: I a hundred percent.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: And it's not about having significant other or not, it's about like you, right?
- 24:02SPEAKER_00: Like I firmly believe that it's about you.
- 24:04SPEAKER_01: I don't know, it's a tough one.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's like an age-old question, really, right?
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: Everyone keeps asking that.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: But I I don't know.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: I think I think you can.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: I think you can you can be friends with someone from the opposite sex and it just be platonic.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: I don't think it's an issue.
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: Is that like you guys had this kind of how did it come up?
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: We had I don't know, we were talking about something completely different, and you know, the conversations like with groups of people always goes like this, and yeah, you know, you end up like in a yeah, but we were talking about this, and then we had some people who were like firmly like of the belief that you absolutely cannot, men and women cannot be fairly.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: Maybe that's what they experienced, yeah.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, maybe, you know, yeah, and then somebody, you know, like throws religion in there, and I'm like, that was not my question.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: Religion, yeah, I was religion throwing.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: So it should be.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: Like, you can't have, you know, and I'm just like, okay, that was not my question.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: It's just, you know, there's always that one person.
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: There's always that one person that you're just like, this is not what we were talking about.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't know.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: I'm so freaking been married that this stuff doesn't even come to my mind.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I like that's why I thought about it.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: Like, I always talk to people that's just like people.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: Like to me, you could just you could be dressed like Jared Leto at the Met Gala, and I would still have a decent conversation with you.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: I 100%.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: I thought it was genius.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: I thought it was the cutest thing ever.
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: He's just that's the difference between me and Lena.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no.
- 25:17SPEAKER_01: I mean, and the problem is I can you will know how I feel about you too.
- 25:20SPEAKER_00: I can't hide my feelings.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: No, it's fine.
- 25:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I can't really hide my face, especially if I'm surprised.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: You're more diplomatic than I am.
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: Yes, that is true.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're diplomatic.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: No, I'm not doing that.
- 25:31SPEAKER_01: I'm just like, no, I'm not yeah, because people like like, no, I had this thing at work.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: I told you, I think I mentioned to you, like, there are people, and I'm just like, I'm not about having new friends.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: Like, don't get mad at me.
- 25:40SPEAKER_01: Like, it's not personal.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: Like, leave me alone.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: No, it's like I have enough things in my life going on.
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: I mean, so do I, but like that doesn't mean you can't be nice.
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: I'm not I wasn't mean.
- 25:49SPEAKER_01: I was just don't want to get to know you.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: That is pretty weird.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: I mean, no, it's not.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: I just I don't have time and I shouldn't have to make time if I don't want to.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: If you want to get to know somebody that you work with, I don't want to get to know them.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: You what's then what hey, what are you gonna do at work?
- 26:01SPEAKER_01: You're just gonna if I have to talk to you, work related, I'll talk to you.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: Otherwise, just don't talk to me.
- 26:05SPEAKER_01: That's terrible.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: That is not terrible.
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: No, like life is short, I'm not wasting my time on people that I know I will not be friends with.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: Like, or I know how do you know that if you can't because there's some people that are just like oil and water.
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: I know that's gonna be we're just not gonna mash it.
- 26:19SPEAKER_00: I feel like that's very, very aggressive.
- 26:22SPEAKER_01: No, it's not aggressive, it's kind it's it's having good time management.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: It really is.
- 26:27SPEAKER_01: Like you, I don't need you if if you're not gonna if I don't see a future, if I don't see a future, there is no need for me to waste my time or you waste your time.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: Just stay away from me.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: No, I completely disagree.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: And that's why we're different.
- 26:41SPEAKER_00: Sometimes you need to get to know people that you may think you yeah, in initially that you think like you don't like, and then it turns out that you actually do end up liking them.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: And yeah, I don't, I'm not of that mindset at all.
- 26:53SPEAKER_01: So you don't see someone and find that person, like you're like, no, this person's irritating, I'm not going near them.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: Sometimes, sometimes, but but sometimes you have to work with somebody very closely that may irritate you, and then you discover that like maybe that's why there's email.
- 27:11SPEAKER_00: No, it doesn't work like that.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: No, I'm not interested.
- 27:14SPEAKER_01: No, it doesn't, it doesn't, it doesn't work like that.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: I don't care, and I'm not gonna feel bad about it.
- 27:18SPEAKER_01: And there are people out there who agree with me, and I know that for sure.
- 27:21SPEAKER_00: Like, if can you guys comment and tell me if you agree with Lena or you agree with me?
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: Like, do you ever put time into somebody who you feel is irritating because you have to initially, and then you find out that they're not as irritating as you thought they were at the beginning.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: So I have a question.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: So yesterday I went to get my nails done for all of my nail girlies, right?
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: Or all of my nail people on here.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: Um, anybody who likes to get your nails done or you do your nails yourself.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: So I went to get my nails done yesterday because I'm I always do my nails.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: And right now they're just kind of like they have this like glitter situ on.
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: But my ring finger on my right hand has this like little dot on it.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: And do you see it?
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: Do you see that?
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, and so somebody was like, Oh my gosh, that's bacteria.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, but how?
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: I don't wear fake nails.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: Why do I have bacteria just on one finger?
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: And so I looked it up, and it's this thing called like the greenies, which happens, I guess, when like moisture and bacteria, it's called a pseudo pseudomona, pseudonoma, pseudomona, something like that.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: I am not a doctor, but yeah, I um if anybody out there has experienced something similar, can you please comment, DM me, message me, let me know.
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: Like, does this thing clear up on its own?
- 28:30SPEAKER_00: Do I need to because like they were just like, oh, rub rub your finger with rubbing alcohol.
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: I went to see my doctor, and she's like, Well, you should just have an antibiotic in case it's bacteria and doesn't spread.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: But like, is it that serious?
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: I don't think so.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: I don't think so either.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: It doesn't look that serious.
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: It doesn't look like that.
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: I think you'll be fine.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know.
- 28:47SPEAKER_01: But I'm so sad because I had to cut off all my nails.
- 28:49SPEAKER_01: And you have to uh not do uh you can't put nail polish on it, right?
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, no.
- 28:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's really sad for you.
- 28:55SPEAKER_01: It is it's a serious situation for an end.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: Not for me, but for an end.
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: See, Lena knows me really well.
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: This is a very situation for I like my pedicures.
- 29:03SPEAKER_01: I don't know about manicure.
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: I like I don't do the gel and I don't do any of that stuff.
- 29:07SPEAKER_01: I can't.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: Oh, I do everything in designs and this and that.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so for all my for for all my nail experts out there, if you can get back to me and let me know if I should worry or not.
- 29:16SPEAKER_01: We are really having some serious uh conversations on this podcast.
- 29:20SPEAKER_01: I know talking about your freaking nails.
- 29:21SPEAKER_00: I know, I know, I know, I know.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: Anyways, it's a serious situation for Hana.
- 29:25SPEAKER_00: It is a very situation to share with you guys.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: This is this is like uh I mean, I know this might seem like it's stupid or whatever, but like I love to get my nails done.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: It's how I decompress.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: Anytime I have like a really serious problem in my life, I go get my nails done.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: You know how people like eat, some people like drink coffee, other people like go to the bar, I go to do my nails.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: I told you when I went to we have the same uh nail lady.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and so it's she's like, Where's Hana?
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: I'm like, she hasn't been here in two weeks.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: And she's like, Yeah, I'm like, you know what?
- 29:51SPEAKER_01: I think it's because she got sick.
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: She got a sinus infection.
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: So she was actually worried about you.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because I go all the time.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: So like I get it.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: Like she, her and I like we vibe, we understand each other, but she's cool.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's like everybody has this thing where they that they go do when they're stressed about something.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: So for me, it's like my nails, it's a way for me to decompress, I relax, and I'm like good to go.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: So if any of my my my nail peeps out there can like hook a sister up with some info, I appreciate you.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 30:17SPEAKER_01: What else did you do?
- 30:18SPEAKER_01: Is there anything else?
- 30:19SPEAKER_01: This is just a catch-up.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: Did I do anything else?
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: No, I don't really.
- 30:23SPEAKER_01: No, not really.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: I know, sorry guys, we seem unprepared, but we just wanted to come on.
- 30:27SPEAKER_01: Well, we kind of are unprepared.
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but it's not unprepared.
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: The whole thing is just this is a conversation.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: Catch the conversation today, right?
- 30:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: So we're just catching up on like how life has been going and what's it's been rough.
- 30:38SPEAKER_01: It's been rough.
- 30:39SPEAKER_01: Like, like the whole, you know how the whole dinner thing?
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: I was like, I can't do anything until this thing's over.
- 30:43SPEAKER_01: I know, I feel you.
- 30:45SPEAKER_01: Because I can't multitask like that.
- 30:46SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I have an event, like I was worried about the hair.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: Like, I booked you a month in advance.
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: I got it.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 30:51SPEAKER_01: I think I have to come do my hair and makeup.
- 30:54SPEAKER_00: Which I think is hilarious because I'm just like, it's okay, sure.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: It took me, it took me 40 minutes to do both.
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: And the best part is I was telling my daughter, I'm like, watch what I'm saying.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and she's just looking at me like, is this woman serious?
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: She's like, I am a child, I will not be able to do this.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:10SPEAKER_01: Anyway, um, that's it.
