- 0:31Speaker 2: I go by the name of Farri. I go by
- 0:33Speaker 2: the name you know, bt CEE T for that time,
- 0:36Speaker 2: driven and the build.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Shriven man, grab you.
- 0:43Speaker 5: Time. He got.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Three of them, the father then all three you're supposed
- 0:53Speaker 2: say amen. After that you can do whatever you want.
- 0:59Speaker 2: You hold it down.
- 1:00Speaker 6: That's all I said, hey man, before Kurk Franklin, I
- 1:03Speaker 6: mean with Kirk Franklin, I feel like kicked it off
- 1:05Speaker 6: when he like kind of merged like you know, hip
- 1:08Speaker 6: hop with gospel like made it kind of cool.
- 1:11Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:11Speaker 6: And you know I knew him when I was like
- 1:14Speaker 6: very very young, but I knew that type of music.
- 1:17Speaker 6: But you know, it seemed like a shift happened, you know,
- 1:21Speaker 6: after him and it was like, you know, you had
- 1:24Speaker 6: Mary Mary, and then you had Ti Trivia, and it's
- 1:26Speaker 6: like you guys just had a like a new way
- 1:30Speaker 6: of like relating to everybody, like especially the culture you
- 1:35Speaker 6: know what I'm saying, and mixing it with gospel and
- 1:37Speaker 6: making it cool.
- 1:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I appreciate that.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Thank you for that. It's just crazy to be in
- 1:44Speaker 2: that line when you say kurk the Mary marry and
- 1:46Speaker 2: then time, Oh that's me.
- 1:48Speaker 4: And you brought the energy.
- 1:49Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 1:50Speaker 2: You was always like that.
- 1:51Speaker 8: So my dad played the organ in the church, you
- 1:53Speaker 8: know what I mean. My mom was at the choir director.
- 1:55Speaker 8: So I always wild see them like you know, So
- 1:57Speaker 8: when I started playing or whatever, I just always energetic,
- 2:01Speaker 8: always brought it. So I didn't know I was energetic
- 2:03Speaker 8: or crazy till I went like outside my little family church,
- 2:06Speaker 8: you know what I mean, with our fifty members, they
- 2:08Speaker 8: oh that's my cousin.
- 2:09Speaker 2: They all know time crazy. But when I when I
- 2:11Speaker 2: would go out, whoa, I'm like what what? You know
- 2:14Speaker 2: what I'm saying?
- 2:14Speaker 8: So I always had this energy. I've always had this
- 2:16Speaker 8: like this thing. And you know, I'm glad people don't
- 2:20Speaker 8: kick me out of churches no more.
- 2:21Speaker 6: Can we go back now, we can't assume everybody know
- 2:25Speaker 6: like this is this is the Barler Show and you
- 2:27Speaker 6: know what's up?
- 2:30Speaker 3: Team Aquarius in the building, Late Aquarius.
- 2:35Speaker 2: But you know you late to the party that we
- 2:37Speaker 2: got in Courage. Yeah. Yeah, man, New Jersey, the rural
- 2:43Speaker 2: streets of Camden, New Jersey.
- 2:46Speaker 5: Uh. Uh.
- 2:47Speaker 2: My church, like I said, was a very small church
- 2:50Speaker 2: growing up in Camden.
- 2:52Speaker 5: Uh.
- 2:52Speaker 8: Of course I was acquainted with the culture, but we
- 2:54Speaker 8: were so legalistic, very rich, strict and uh because you
- 2:59Speaker 8: had you was at Pentecostal. Yeah, nothing the earrings, no,
- 3:04Speaker 8: no pants for the girls, no make up for the girls.
- 3:06Speaker 3: No.
- 3:06Speaker 8: I couldn't basketball, bowling, none of that stuff. Can't go
- 3:09Speaker 8: to movies or none, none of that stuff. So I
- 3:12Speaker 8: wasn't really in them streets, you know what I mean.
- 3:14Speaker 2: I was in the church. And that's why they had
- 3:16Speaker 2: church every day that we couldn't do nothing else. You
- 3:18Speaker 2: had church six days a week.
- 3:21Speaker 8: Seriously, yeah literally literally it's not like services, but like
- 3:24Speaker 8: but you just had stuff to do, enough to do
- 3:26Speaker 8: every every day because my parents were like the leader.
- 3:28Speaker 8: So it was like either a rehearsal or a meeting
- 3:30Speaker 8: and then.
- 3:32Speaker 2: All this stuff. Every every day. How did that make
- 3:34Speaker 2: you feel? It was normal to me? I didn't know.
- 3:36Speaker 2: I didn't know.
- 3:37Speaker 8: Yeah, I didn't know. It wasn't I didn't know it
- 3:39Speaker 8: was abnormal. You know what I'm saying. I grew up
- 3:41Speaker 8: in that system. I grew up in that way of life,
- 3:44Speaker 8: so I thought, you know, holiness and coming out of
- 3:47Speaker 8: the world meant staying in the church, not at on
- 3:50Speaker 8: the streets. I didn't realize it was a mindset or
- 3:52Speaker 8: a heart set.
- 3:53Speaker 2: So it was strict.
- 3:54Speaker 8: But I didn't realize it was strict until you know,
- 3:57Speaker 8: freedom was presented, and then it's like, oh, hold on,
- 3:59Speaker 8: I don't have to do it that way.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I can. You know, what do you mean freedom was presented?
- 4:02Speaker 8: Well, what I mean by that is an enlightenment, like
- 4:05Speaker 8: when I when I started traveling and seeing the world
- 4:08Speaker 8: outside of my church, I started seeing God more broad.
- 4:11Speaker 8: How old were you around this, sixteen seventeen. Yeah, I
- 4:16Speaker 8: started playing very young for other groups, other groups and
- 4:19Speaker 8: stuff like that. And when I just went to the
- 4:20Speaker 8: let's just say the Baptist church, not even let's not
- 4:22Speaker 8: even talk about seeing the rest of the world. That's
- 4:25Speaker 8: my Pentecostal church. And then the group that I'm playing
- 4:27Speaker 8: for like a little choir in the area is singing
- 4:30Speaker 8: at a Baptist church.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Very different, okay, extreme, the extreme culture shock, like whoa,
- 4:38Speaker 2: you know what I mean?
- 4:39Speaker 8: Because we weren't allowed to go to Baptist church and
- 4:41Speaker 8: Joey was crazy back then. So it's like to experience that,
- 4:44Speaker 8: it's like hold on, man, you know, it kind of
- 4:46Speaker 8: broke me out of just that that rigid thought process, like, yo,
- 4:49Speaker 8: God is bigger than my church.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Yo, God is bigger than that. That's it. Don't have
- 4:52Speaker 2: to be that way. So I see that as an
- 4:55Speaker 2: option to freedom God.
- 4:57Speaker 8: You understand what I'm saying, Like just the thought process
- 4:59Speaker 8: or other the other ways of thinking is an option
- 5:01Speaker 8: to me. So when I saw it, I took it.
- 5:04Speaker 8: I took it because I never want to don't. I
- 5:05Speaker 8: don't do go with handcuffs. I don't like bondage.
- 5:07Speaker 4: I don't likes y'all like y'all freedom. But it you know,
- 5:12Speaker 4: it's all good.
- 5:13Speaker 3: This is happening and you're seeing this freedom. What about
- 5:17Speaker 3: your parents?
- 5:18Speaker 2: They were that was that a challenge?
- 5:21Speaker 8: They were supportive? Okay, they were supportive. They say, hey, man,
- 5:24Speaker 8: go do it. You know they knew I was grounded.
- 5:25Speaker 8: They knew I was anchored in you know, holiness and
- 5:28Speaker 8: righteousness and I was saved. So it was like, uh,
- 5:31Speaker 8: they trusted me in those environments and still holding on
- 5:34Speaker 8: to my you know, integrity, you know what I mean.
- 5:36Speaker 2: And for the most part, I did.
- 5:37Speaker 6: You know, and you are the second son of four kids,
- 5:40Speaker 6: so you were like an example, like, you know, they
- 5:42Speaker 6: trust you to kind of lead in a way, right
- 5:45Speaker 6: as girl.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Boy me and then little sister, little brother.
- 5:49Speaker 8: So girl boy, girl boy. So me and my sister
- 5:51Speaker 8: always fought because she's the oldest girl and I'm like
- 5:53Speaker 8: I'm the man, you know, you know what I'm.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Saying, right, So yeah, the leadership kind of like fell
- 5:59Speaker 2: to me.
- 6:00Speaker 8: I'm my father's namesake, I'm the second, I'm junior or whatever.
- 6:04Speaker 8: So it kind of just kind of even now I'm
- 6:08Speaker 8: being real with y'all, this week and my father had
- 6:11Speaker 8: a health scare, so you know, heart failure and all
- 6:13Speaker 8: that stuff.
- 6:14Speaker 2: He had a heart attack. He had several heart attacks
- 6:16Speaker 2: about twelve years ago, so we just been monitoring him.
- 6:19Speaker 2: So it's been real.
- 6:20Speaker 8: This weekend was scare. Like literally each the Sunday, you know,
- 6:23Speaker 8: I'm a preaching like what you know, since my family scrambled.
- 6:26Speaker 8: So anyway, just on the leadership tip. Now everybody's like,
- 6:30Speaker 8: you know, Tye.
- 6:30Speaker 2: You know what we're gonna do.
- 6:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Yeah, And I'm just like, you know, I'm just as
- 6:34Speaker 2: fragile as everybody else. But you know, I've been that.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I've been that for the family since I can remember.
- 6:40Speaker 2: To be honest.
- 6:41Speaker 4: Where are they at now?
- 6:43Speaker 2: Wow? Great question.
- 6:44Speaker 8: My family to my younger siblings moved to Orlando with me,
- 6:49Speaker 8: and my sister was in town this weekend looking at
- 6:52Speaker 8: the houses this stuff too.
- 6:53Speaker 2: So all the siblings are about to.
- 6:54Speaker 6: Be in Florida, and then your parents are still and
- 6:58Speaker 6: my mom came down as well for Resurrection Sunday and
- 7:01Speaker 6: she's also looking to move to Florida.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Oh wow, everybody.
- 7:04Speaker 8: Yeah, And I'm trying if my dad can do it,
- 7:07Speaker 8: you know what I mean. I'm like, Yo, I said
- 7:09Speaker 8: it straight up, live or die, do it in Florida.
- 7:11Speaker 3: You're on the radio in Orlando, Yeah, on iHeart Radio.
- 7:15Speaker 9: Yeah, what's up that radio station that you're on. You're
- 7:19Speaker 9: on on Sunday morning? Yeah, yea yeah, yeah, yeah, let's go,
- 7:22Speaker 9: let's go. We connected it too many different ways.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Extremes Okay, yeah, I'll wrap it up.
- 7:31Speaker 2: Whatever you mess up, I'll fix it.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Real know, how is your dad doing today?
- 7:36Speaker 2: He's doing better, Thank you so much. He's doing way better.
- 7:39Speaker 8: He's responding. He's responding well to the medicine and everything.
- 7:42Speaker 8: So he's had scarce like this throughout the twelve years
- 7:45Speaker 8: and he bounced back. So this is another bounce back day. Literally,
- 7:48Speaker 8: I got the text someware, so I'm like, thank you God.
- 7:50Speaker 8: We just want to get him healthy enough to get
- 7:52Speaker 8: him to.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Florida for sure. Yeah, because sometimes that's different.
- 7:54Speaker 8: He's in Jersey, like Camden area, New Jersey, so still
- 7:58Speaker 8: that familiar environment.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean where he was born and raised.
- 8:01Speaker 8: Sometimes you just need to go somewhere to see a
- 8:02Speaker 8: palm tree and just something different and that'll spark healthy.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I heard that that palm tree.
- 8:08Speaker 10: I tell you something.
- 8:10Speaker 4: No, I feel you.
- 8:11Speaker 6: But going back to Camden, New Jersey and your journey
- 8:14Speaker 6: to the TI tribute that we know, uh, you know,
- 8:17Speaker 6: you had like a traumatic moment when your parents divorced
- 8:21Speaker 6: and you went out, you went to the clubs, and
- 8:24Speaker 6: you kind of you know, got into a situation that
- 8:26Speaker 6: kind of shaped your career because you got with Vivian
- 8:29Speaker 6: Green and that whole story.
- 8:30Speaker 4: Can you let us know about that?
- 8:32Speaker 8: Yeah, so of coase you we wasn't allowed to do nothing,
- 8:34Speaker 8: no no, no. Parents split up and that was like
- 8:37Speaker 8: a culture shock to us. I say it now like
- 8:38Speaker 8: when my parents got a divorce. People like, okay. Back
- 8:41Speaker 8: then it was like, especially in the Pentecostal church, you
- 8:44Speaker 8: never respected leadership to da da da da da, just
- 8:46Speaker 8: before social media and all of that.
- 8:48Speaker 2: So that was a shock to me.
- 8:49Speaker 8: And I was kind of like everything they've been telling
- 8:51Speaker 8: me is a lineman bumped the yo. I don't care
- 8:53Speaker 8: about none of this stuff. I'm going to the clubs.
- 8:55Speaker 2: And so I went to clubs. I went. I went
- 8:58Speaker 2: to the club because they only I can't.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Go to club man, ask you you went to the club.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Which club did you go to? And what year and
- 9:04Speaker 3: what songs did you who?
- 9:06Speaker 8: I went to the five spot in Philly, everywhere in Philly.
- 9:09Speaker 8: I got you, bro, I got the song. The songs
- 9:11Speaker 8: that I heard was mostly the ones that I played.
- 9:14Speaker 8: So I went to like live band clubs with DJs too.
- 9:16Speaker 8: So when I'm talking tough like I went to clubs,
- 9:18Speaker 8: I really went to just play.
- 9:25Speaker 2: What Jesus.
- 9:28Speaker 4: He was in the Time and the Air were Freeway,
- 9:30Speaker 4: and then.
- 9:33Speaker 2: In the Roots. In the Roots, yeah, j Dillo, all them,
- 9:37Speaker 2: all all them. So how about you talking about though, Yeah,
- 9:40Speaker 2: I do.
- 9:41Speaker 8: I was playing for most of them, the Roots and
- 9:43Speaker 8: Jill Scott and Music Soul Child and Floyd Trees and Green,
- 9:47Speaker 8: yeah blow all all of them was all in that,
- 9:50Speaker 8: you know, same CIRCLEA good music right there, very good
- 9:53Speaker 8: Neil Soul was. I was definitely heavily into that, and
- 9:57Speaker 8: so that that kind of again expanded my view of
- 9:59Speaker 8: God and all of that stuff, you know what I'm saying.
- 10:01Speaker 2: And so when I got with Vivian Green, her and
- 10:05Speaker 2: my cousin were kind of.
- 10:06Speaker 8: Like talking and then uh we relationship talking, relationship talking
- 10:10Speaker 8: romantic relationship.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Roller Coaster.
- 10:12Speaker 8: Yes, that song is actually dedicated to him, but anyway, no,
- 10:20Speaker 8: I already got a text before about that, so I'm
- 10:22Speaker 8: not going there anyway. Yeah, So she was going to
- 10:25Speaker 8: get her record deal with Columbia Records, like, y'all, you know, toy,
- 10:28Speaker 8: I want you to come do the music, I said, Okay,
- 10:29Speaker 8: I grabbed a couple of people from my choir, y'all
- 10:32Speaker 8: did the background. A couple of people from the band
- 10:34Speaker 8: you know, uh, we just rocked out and Tommy Matola
- 10:37Speaker 8: and Donnie Einer and then what's over you know, Sony Records,
- 10:40Speaker 8: and they was in there.
- 10:41Speaker 2: It was like VIVI and we love you. That's amazing.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Who's that guy?
- 10:44Speaker 8: Because remember I'm still on there, like y'all, I'm still
- 10:50Speaker 8: let's do it, and I'm doing all these custy stuff
- 10:52Speaker 8: like that. So they're looking at Viv and looking at
- 10:53Speaker 8: me like so they were like her producers was like,
- 10:56Speaker 8: that's a gospel guy.
- 10:57Speaker 2: You know, Viv is the focus. Like we're gonna sign
- 10:59Speaker 2: viv and the gospel guy. I'm like, what in the world.
- 11:03Speaker 8: I didn't have no black and white, I had no
- 11:05Speaker 8: demo tapes, I have nothing. And in about ninety days
- 11:08Speaker 8: we had a contract sent to my house. They haven't
- 11:11Speaker 8: heard a song, they didn't hear it, they didn't see
- 11:12Speaker 8: the group, they did nothing. So I got signed to
- 11:14Speaker 8: Columbia Records off of that. So that's like kind of miraculous. Yeah,
- 11:20Speaker 8: they heard my music after.
- 11:21Speaker 2: I got signed.
- 11:22Speaker 4: Yeah, and they didn't really have very many gospel artists
- 11:24Speaker 4: on the label.
- 11:25Speaker 2: They only had Mary Mary at the time on the
- 11:27Speaker 2: Columbia thing. And then it was myself. Then they had
- 11:29Speaker 2: of Kimbarell and then men are standing in a couple
- 11:32Speaker 2: of other people.
- 11:33Speaker 8: So that was a very unique situation. So when people
- 11:35Speaker 8: ask me what do you do to get signed, I'm like,
- 11:37Speaker 8: I don't know what you gotta do to get signed? Well,
- 11:38Speaker 8: especially today, everything is just wide over. But to day
- 11:40Speaker 8: you just go online and go viral on them.
- 11:42Speaker 2: A story like that is very rare now literally how
- 11:46Speaker 2: does it happen now?
- 11:47Speaker 1: Or is it?
- 11:47Speaker 7: Like?
- 11:48Speaker 3: It's very numbers driven too, so they're.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Looking social media, looking at social.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Media numbers, and if you have a brand that can
- 11:54Speaker 3: sustained without them, then they're gonna do is package you up,
- 11:58Speaker 3: repackage you up, and then.
- 11:59Speaker 2: Put out Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, I get it because
- 12:02Speaker 2: it helps.
- 12:03Speaker 5: Labels don't want to take chances anymore, they don't want
- 12:06Speaker 5: to take investing money.
- 12:07Speaker 2: So it's the money that because if they don't get
- 12:09Speaker 2: that money back, they don't get that money back. The
- 12:12Speaker 2: money back on the chef.
- 12:13Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure they curated to you a little bit.
- 12:16Speaker 5: Now.
- 12:16Speaker 3: It's literally like maybe a thousand artists on the l
- 12:21Speaker 3: maybe and they're going to go to whoever has the
- 12:24Speaker 3: most smokes.
- 12:25Speaker 6: Yeah, I had a lot of attention when we first
- 12:27Speaker 6: and that's what I say. That's a good thing. When
- 12:29Speaker 6: you were like number two. Yeah, all the tensions on you.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Yep, we was like the we was like the piggyback
- 12:35Speaker 2: off of Mary Mary stuff. You know what I'm saying.
- 12:37Speaker 2: They were killing it. So did y'all have artists development?
- 12:41Speaker 5: Nah?
- 12:42Speaker 2: Artist development in the church is church?
- 12:45Speaker 4: Gotcha develop yourself in the word.
- 12:50Speaker 2: You want to get a new artist in the gospel,
- 12:51Speaker 2: go send them to a revival, I mean you feel
- 12:56Speaker 2: you gotta be on point though, No, for.
- 12:58Speaker 8: Real, those are the hardest audience is yo. I'm not
- 13:01Speaker 8: talking spiritual nothing like that, just a regular yo. And
- 13:04Speaker 8: I grew up Philly Jersey, New York. Like the Apollo audiences.
- 13:08Speaker 5: Yo.
- 13:08Speaker 2: We would go up there and have to find out
- 13:11Speaker 2: how to get through to this audience y'all, you know
- 13:13Speaker 2: what I mean. And so they'll just sit there and
- 13:14Speaker 2: look at you like yes.
- 13:16Speaker 8: So that really helped my presentational performance because growing up
- 13:20Speaker 8: in that and that was my regular I had to
- 13:22Speaker 8: learn how to any crowd, any age, how to get
- 13:25Speaker 8: through to you, you know what I mean.
- 13:26Speaker 2: So you get the teenager and bit mama right right.
- 13:29Speaker 2: I appreciate it now, but it was hell then, it's
- 13:33Speaker 2: a different ground.
- 13:34Speaker 8: Really, Yeah, he was doing that's like Lebron. That's like
- 13:36Speaker 8: you're saying Lebron's dunks look easy easy.
- 13:40Speaker 6: No, but that's just all the respect to you and
- 13:42Speaker 6: appreciate everybody you know who came before us, and appreciate it.
- 13:48Speaker 6: You didn't have Instagram or anything that at your disposal
- 13:51Speaker 6: that you can stuff out.
- 13:52Speaker 4: You had to be this your own street team.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Flyers.
- 13:54Speaker 8: We had flyers, right, let's get the color paper flowers.
- 13:57Speaker 8: I used to draw the fall and all that stuff
- 14:00Speaker 8: on there, the little bubble words. I used to literally
- 14:02Speaker 8: be like come see time TRIPU da da da da. Yeah,
- 14:04Speaker 8: And we used to give our flyers and stuff like that.
- 14:05Speaker 8: I'm like, man, was how you built your audience?
- 14:08Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, literally doing that literally going around literally.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Just because people heard about you.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Yeah, like I have to go see that.
- 14:16Speaker 8: Yes, Yes, we had a huge like ground swell. We
- 14:19Speaker 8: had a huge, like little movement going on. Like people
- 14:22Speaker 8: would come to our rehearsals. It was every Monday night
- 14:24Speaker 8: and I would start with like a little Bible study
- 14:26Speaker 8: type thing because everybody was just from everywhere and I
- 14:29Speaker 8: just make sure we're on the same page mentally and spiritually.
- 14:31Speaker 8: So that turned into the preacher I am today, just
- 14:34Speaker 8: trying to make sure we are good. I used to
- 14:36Speaker 8: call it tag session. Let's just talk about God. It
- 14:38Speaker 8: wasn't nothing deep, but it was like, yo, did you
- 14:40Speaker 8: know that when I think of the goodness of Jesus
- 14:42Speaker 8: and all these that's not in the Bible?
- 14:43Speaker 2: Did y'all know that?
- 14:44Speaker 8: Little stuff like that? And then we would just talk
- 14:46Speaker 8: about God for a minute. Then that turned into Bible studies.
- 14:48Speaker 8: Then I just turned into whatever. But anyway, that was
- 14:51Speaker 8: all Mondays and then we would rehearse. So some people
- 14:54Speaker 8: just came for that little Bible study moment and left out.
- 14:57Speaker 8: Some people came late and just came for the rehearsal
- 14:59Speaker 8: performed part, and we would just be like literally flicking
- 15:01Speaker 8: lights and stuff in there, so people like get a
- 15:04Speaker 8: little show going on. So that kind of grew us
- 15:06Speaker 8: as well. Again, no social media, so you had to
- 15:09Speaker 8: be there to experience it.
- 15:11Speaker 3: You learn about it, and then ye made more people.
- 15:13Speaker 8: Come exactly exactly. It wasn't even no direct TV like
- 15:16Speaker 8: are recording now and watching later. If you're not in
- 15:18Speaker 8: that moment, you missed the moment. So people came from Delaware,
- 15:22Speaker 8: New York, Connecticut, Baltimore just to come to our rehearsals.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Man, it was such a thing. Yo. Wow, it was
- 15:29Speaker 2: such a thing.
- 15:30Speaker 6: So when you got your deal and you know, you know,
- 15:33Speaker 6: you had the Life album, it was a different experience
- 15:36Speaker 6: as far as being signed.
- 15:39Speaker 4: But how did that change you?
- 15:40Speaker 2: I didn't like, I'm sorry to cut you. I'm sorry
- 15:42Speaker 2: about that. I didn't. I didn't like that experience too much.
- 15:46Speaker 8: I was already ready to not be changed by the industry,
- 15:50Speaker 8: you know what I'm saying. So I already had this
- 15:52Speaker 8: thing like, all right, we got signed. You know how
- 15:54Speaker 8: these labels do they tryed to So I had, you know,
- 15:56Speaker 8: my crew and were like, we ain't changed.
- 15:57Speaker 2: D da da da da.
- 15:58Speaker 8: So it's like almost like anything he did, I kind
- 16:00Speaker 8: of bucked up against, even if it was better for me.
- 16:03Speaker 8: So from the product from the production of that album,
- 16:05Speaker 8: they had James Poyser, who's part of the Roots crew.
- 16:08Speaker 8: You see him every night on Jimmy Fallon.
- 16:10Speaker 5: Uh.
- 16:11Speaker 2: That's so he produced that first album and.
- 16:14Speaker 8: I kind of was like because it was more Neil
- 16:18Speaker 8: soul sound, more how how de'angelo and how everybody he
- 16:21Speaker 8: was producing Lauren Hill.
- 16:23Speaker 2: It sounded more like that. It didn't sound like how
- 16:25Speaker 2: I get down. It was very controlled. It was very
- 16:29Speaker 2: But what I mean by that is, if I have
- 16:31Speaker 2: a dunt.
- 16:31Speaker 8: Got the bet bet bet bet he said, take all
- 16:34Speaker 8: the bet bet bettos out. Just duned dune simplified, simplified,
- 16:38Speaker 8: not controlled.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Thank you. He simplified it.
- 16:40Speaker 8: And I learned a lot in production from the from
- 16:43Speaker 8: him simplifying a lot later on. But in the moment,
- 16:46Speaker 8: I was just like, you trying to change me control,
- 16:52Speaker 8: you know what I mean, Like, well, let them understand
- 16:54Speaker 8: you first, and then they need to understand. So I
- 16:56Speaker 8: was we were bucking heads a whole lot. I had
- 16:58Speaker 8: like fifty people with old do you at the time?
- 17:02Speaker 2: Twenty one?
- 17:04Speaker 3: So do you think the age kind of played a
- 17:07Speaker 3: part into it too?
- 17:07Speaker 8: I was immature maybe, yeah, yeah, I thought I already
- 17:11Speaker 8: knew you know, kids know everything.
- 17:13Speaker 2: And then I'm on this demonic label. You know what everything.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Don't forget I've been a constant. Don't forget. Yeah, these
- 17:19Speaker 2: demons ain't changing.
- 17:24Speaker 5: What you're trying to do. He was trying to take
- 17:25Speaker 5: my symbols out. Well, you heard what Michael Jackson said,
- 17:29Speaker 5: about so, well, that's.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Michael talking about this. You're gonna get me. So that
- 17:35Speaker 2: experience was kind.
- 17:36Speaker 8: Of like oil and water because of my immaturity and
- 17:40Speaker 8: me just trying to be tires. What got me signed tires?
- 17:44Speaker 8: What's gonna people gonna love? But that really he really
- 17:47Speaker 8: helped me. That whole thing kind of helped me package
- 17:49Speaker 8: myself and present myself to people who had no idea
- 17:52Speaker 8: who I was outside of the church.
- 17:53Speaker 4: So but then the Victory Live album, now I was.
- 17:56Speaker 2: Like, I'm producing this one now.
- 17:57Speaker 8: That was hoy, yeah, said I'm doing this, So I said,
- 18:00Speaker 8: y'all did so are live performances from the Life project.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Were like crazy because I put on my arrangements back
- 18:07Speaker 2: in there. Now you put in the bout it.
- 18:15Speaker 8: So a lot of performances way bigger than the album
- 18:17Speaker 8: because I put everything back in there, and then people
- 18:20Speaker 8: started to love that. So now I'm like, let me
- 18:22Speaker 8: do this album my way now. So Victory was like
- 18:24Speaker 8: my first one that I produced, and that was like
- 18:28Speaker 8: they try to categorize it, like what is this this
- 18:31Speaker 8: gospel R and B? This gospel hip hop? Because I
- 18:33Speaker 8: got some some like Celtic type stuff in there. And
- 18:37Speaker 8: then I got some straight up revival type church stuff.
- 18:39Speaker 8: Then I got like, some cool what is this? I said,
- 18:42Speaker 8: I just it's just Kingdom music. I just said it's
- 18:45Speaker 8: just Kingdom music because I think every style should be
- 18:47Speaker 8: represented in the Kingdom of God. Every preach, every type
- 18:50Speaker 8: of everything should be representing the Kingdom. So I just
- 18:52Speaker 8: call it Kingdom music and that kind of call.
- 18:54Speaker 2: And people love Big Three every to this day classic.
- 18:58Speaker 2: When you hear Big Day, I'm like, how did that happen?
- 19:00Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying, Because I had a guy
- 19:03Speaker 2: in the choir who became a sudden to me, y'all.
- 19:06Speaker 2: I can't. I don't know how it happened.
- 19:08Speaker 8: He just stay on my crib. You know, his mom
- 19:11Speaker 8: was a single mother. His mom was already at my church.
- 19:14Speaker 8: I already knew the family whatever. He was about to
- 19:16Speaker 8: get married, and he was in a car going to
- 19:21Speaker 8: do the seating arrangements for the reception with him as
- 19:23Speaker 8: his fiance on a Sunday after church, got in a
- 19:26Speaker 8: car accident, passed away back just like that, like thirty
- 19:31Speaker 8: days before his wedding, and we were preparing for what
- 19:35Speaker 8: is now called the Victory Album.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I didn't have the song Victory at that time. We
- 19:38Speaker 2: just had that a little bit.
- 19:40Speaker 8: He came to me he was going to school at
- 19:41Speaker 8: HU and Hampton and DC. It said, Tye, yo, if
- 19:45Speaker 8: you do a.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Go Go song, the DNV gonna go craze. Yeah.
- 19:52Speaker 8: I was like, what, Like, all right, No, I'm telling you,
- 19:55Speaker 8: ty you gotta do this song. Virginia, Maryland, DC will
- 19:58Speaker 8: go crazy, Houston, Dallas.
- 20:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Boy, So I came out with that.
- 20:04Speaker 8: I tried it, like and the first I kind of
- 20:07Speaker 8: heard like a cab Calloway long suits, Harlem nights, like.
- 20:14Speaker 2: With the horns that I just changed the put that
- 20:18Speaker 2: beat on it. When I started feeling when I feel
- 20:22Speaker 2: it at the house, I know, well, I.
- 20:24Speaker 8: Don't care when I feel it, I don't care how
- 20:27Speaker 8: it affects nobody else.
- 20:28Speaker 2: It already blessed me.
- 20:29Speaker 8: I'm already in it, and that's the purpose of the
- 20:31Speaker 8: song to me at the moment, and then my family
- 20:33Speaker 8: feel it.
- 20:33Speaker 2: I'm good, yell to me. I don't really project it's
- 20:35Speaker 2: gonna be a hit.
- 20:36Speaker 8: If I'm satisfied, I'm like, thank you God, I'm good.
- 20:39Speaker 8: And when Victory hit like that, I knew it was
- 20:41Speaker 8: gonna be something.
- 20:42Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that caintapulted you success wise. How did
- 20:51Speaker 6: you handle that? That that that success that came from
- 20:54Speaker 6: that album Good and Bad?
- 20:58Speaker 8: You say the bad part first, I'm about to you know,
- 21:01Speaker 8: I was because the good could be assumed. The day
- 21:03Speaker 8: Victory came out, I was in jail. What oh way,
- 21:09Speaker 8: that's the song on a life album. No way, but anyway,
- 21:13Speaker 8: we're talking about victory though I was in jail. I
- 21:18Speaker 8: was in jail for traffic tickets. So my wife and
- 21:22Speaker 8: I get married. We live in this apartment for a year.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Leasa's up. We moved a little bit higher. You know, good,
- 21:27Speaker 2: we're good.
- 21:27Speaker 8: Times a little you know what I'm saying. So I'm
- 21:31Speaker 8: getting tickets and warrants sent to these to that apartment.
- 21:34Speaker 8: I ain't there no more. So by the time Victory here,
- 21:37Speaker 8: we're in the house, you know what I'm saying. Or
- 21:40Speaker 8: we're about victory about hit, we're in the house. We're
- 21:41Speaker 8: a little more settled. So all my males coming to
- 21:43Speaker 8: the right place now. So I got like all these warrants.
- 21:48Speaker 2: It was. It was bad, y'all.
- 21:50Speaker 8: I must have been late to every rehearsal I've ever
- 21:53Speaker 8: had in my life. How fast I was speeding, getting
- 21:55Speaker 8: these tickets. So I had to do like a tour
- 21:59Speaker 8: of courts, like I had to go to the Candy Court,
- 22:02Speaker 8: the Philly Court, Dinner, the morths Yo. So I had
- 22:05Speaker 8: to do community service first, out there picking up cigarette
- 22:07Speaker 8: butts and out there cleaning up beaches and drug and
- 22:10Speaker 8: all the needles and stuff off that.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I'm doing that first and my last court. It was
- 22:15Speaker 2: literally my last one, and I'm thinking he gonna let
- 22:18Speaker 2: me even eat the pay it. Probably have to do
- 22:20Speaker 2: some more community service. He was like, I guess.
- 22:22Speaker 8: He was like, yo, you think you could get away
- 22:24Speaker 8: with it because I don't know. I was like, hey, sir,
- 22:27Speaker 8: I'm a reverend.
- 22:28Speaker 2: I can't. I can't go I can't go to jail.
- 22:30Speaker 2: I'm a reverend.
- 22:31Speaker 8: You know what I'm saying. He didn't care about that.
- 22:33Speaker 8: And the more stuff I said I was doing, it
- 22:35Speaker 8: was like it felt like he was like it was
- 22:37Speaker 8: I'm gonna teach you a lesson, brother, yeah example, yeah, Like, well, Sir,
- 22:40Speaker 8: I do that.
- 22:41Speaker 2: I was like, okay.
- 22:42Speaker 8: So I felt that from him, like, oh, let me
- 22:44Speaker 8: stop saying what I'm doing that. Let me shut up
- 22:45Speaker 8: for a minute. So he gave me thirty days, like bang,
- 22:48Speaker 8: you gotta do thirty days. So worse than thirty days, y'all,
- 22:56Speaker 8: he said, because your reverend will let you get off
- 22:58Speaker 8: Saturday and Sunday. So I had like I had, like
- 23:02Speaker 8: when people got to work, sometimes they let you through
- 23:04Speaker 8: your week and then you got to go in Saturday
- 23:06Speaker 8: and Sunday to serve your time. I got out Saturdays
- 23:09Speaker 8: and Sunday. So by noon Saturday, I clopped out, and
- 23:12Speaker 8: by Monday morning, seven am.
- 23:15Speaker 2: I had to check.
- 23:17Speaker 8: That's the worst part, checking myself back in there every Monday,
- 23:21Speaker 8: Yo at seven am. So I was on a six
- 23:24Speaker 8: Flags Great Adventure tour at that time, So that's Saturday
- 23:28Speaker 8: or whatever Sunday I would do six Flags. I would
- 23:30Speaker 8: do Great Adventure. People say, Toddie taking pictures. I'm like,
- 23:33Speaker 8: y'all have no idea I'm going tomorrow. Y'all have no
- 23:36Speaker 8: idea where I'm going tomorrow. I got in a nice
- 23:38Speaker 8: suit on the day, but I'm having an orange suit
- 23:40Speaker 8: on tomorrow. So during this is when albums came.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Out on Tuesdays.
- 23:46Speaker 8: So that Tuesday, June or May or whatever it was,
- 23:49Speaker 8: I was literally in jail and my wife called me,
- 23:51Speaker 8: like baby, well, I called her, I said, that's one
- 23:56Speaker 8: of my calls for that day. Baby's selling out everywhere.
- 23:58Speaker 8: You know that, I said, I don't I don't care
- 24:01Speaker 8: that I'm selling out everywhere. I'm you know what I'm saying,
- 24:03Speaker 8: I'm locked.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I'm locked up right now. I got an RN sat
- 24:05Speaker 2: on with some Orange Vans on and I don't care
- 24:07Speaker 2: about nothing.
- 24:07Speaker 4: So you were locked up when victory dropped.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Wow, I was losing.
- 24:12Speaker 8: When victory came out when everybody was winning off that,
- 24:15Speaker 8: I was in the worst position in the world. It
- 24:17Speaker 8: was like, Hell, it's smelled horrible to people. My whole experience,
- 24:21Speaker 8: my family knows. I call it jail tales.
- 24:23Speaker 2: So I'd be like, oh, come on, your dad's talking
- 24:24Speaker 2: about jail, Like, come on, jail tales. In my house.
- 24:27Speaker 8: I got stories after story after story, and the whole
- 24:29Speaker 8: time I'm in there, Bobby Jones is still like playing me.
- 24:33Speaker 2: So when I come back in, they like, church, Hey
- 24:35Speaker 2: you church, We just saw you yesterday on b ET.
- 24:38Speaker 2: What you doing in there?
- 24:39Speaker 4: Like, so did you say any souls in there?
- 24:42Speaker 8: Oh?
- 24:42Speaker 2: God, did something Okay? When you preaching? I had got
- 24:45Speaker 2: a couple of like counsel counseling sessions.
- 24:48Speaker 8: You know what I mean, people were like just confess
- 24:50Speaker 8: to me like I was a pope or something, you
- 24:52Speaker 8: know what I mean, Like you know what I mean, Like,
- 24:54Speaker 8: hey man, you know I stole from my mom. They
- 24:57Speaker 8: would just tell me stuff and I would just like
- 24:59Speaker 8: talk to them, and I prayed with a couple of them.
- 25:01Speaker 2: But yes, I need to pray.
- 25:04Speaker 4: When I got to go y'all by.
- 25:06Speaker 8: I love y'all visiting, I was over for me. So
- 25:09Speaker 8: that was that was That was one thing. And then
- 25:11Speaker 8: at the same time, I'm dropped Tuesday. I had my
- 25:14Speaker 8: second child that Thursday. So the last month of my
- 25:18Speaker 8: wife carrying I was in it, stressing her out, doing
- 25:20Speaker 8: all that.
- 25:22Speaker 10: We'll be right back with more of The Baller Alert Show.
- 25:26Speaker 10: You're listening to a special edition of The Baller Alert Show.
- 25:29Speaker 2: What's Up?
- 25:30Speaker 8: Everybody Tied tribute here to make sure you stay tuned
- 25:32Speaker 8: to The Baller Alert Show.
- 25:33Speaker 3: I really have to ask you question. It's not gonna
- 25:35Speaker 3: be fun. I'm not trying to do your thing, brother,
- 25:37Speaker 3: And you did all this and you didn't cuss one time.
- 25:39Speaker 2: I didn't cuss one time, and I was been cussing
- 25:42Speaker 2: up the storm like bro, like what, No, I've.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Got to go to jail on.
- 25:46Speaker 2: I didn't cut one time. That was not my vocaboy
- 25:49Speaker 2: at that time, that was not in my sight force.
- 25:52Speaker 2: You never even thought, no, that wasn't in my second No, no,
- 25:57Speaker 2: because I did that to myself when people.
- 26:01Speaker 8: Not too long after that, my wife and I almost divorced, right,
- 26:05Speaker 8: so infidelity, right, So I stepped out of the marriage,
- 26:09Speaker 8: and she's home with the baby, and I'm out here
- 26:11Speaker 8: being the king of the world. I'm getting all this attention.
- 26:14Speaker 8: This never happened to me. I'm going from a small
- 26:15Speaker 8: church to everybody screaming my name. People know me at
- 26:18Speaker 8: the airport, and I did not know how to handle
- 26:20Speaker 8: that attention. I could not handle that attention. I was
- 26:23Speaker 8: the ugly duck when I was the buck, too skinny
- 26:25Speaker 8: black guy in school. All my life, I wish somebody
- 26:27Speaker 8: would look at me. Twice nobody ever looked at me out.
- 26:30Speaker 8: I ain't gonna prom I wasn't the JV either, I
- 26:33Speaker 8: wasn't nothing. Nobody looked at me unless I played or
- 26:35Speaker 8: did some type of some music or something like that.
- 26:37Speaker 2: There's no excuse. I made a horrible.
- 26:39Speaker 4: Decision, But the success brought that attention exactly.
- 26:42Speaker 8: So that's why the success of victory was amazing, but
- 26:45Speaker 8: it comes with a lot of temptations. And if you
- 26:47Speaker 8: ain't ready for that, your character don't stand up, you
- 26:50Speaker 8: gift think on mean nothing.
- 26:51Speaker 4: In hindsight, how could you have avoided that?
- 26:54Speaker 8: More boundaries? More boundaries? Like after that, Now I got
- 26:57Speaker 8: all this accountability circle around me. I got this this
- 27:00Speaker 8: in place and this in place, and I got people
- 27:01Speaker 8: to talk to if I have accountability and boundary systems
- 27:04Speaker 8: in place now since then. But if I'd have known
- 27:07Speaker 8: it then, I would have been died it then. And
- 27:10Speaker 8: then she was going through postpartum. I didn't know what
- 27:12Speaker 8: postpartum was. She was just a crazy woman to me,
- 27:14Speaker 8: you know what I mean? Now everybody has understanding of
- 27:17Speaker 8: knowledge of postprodum or PSD. They are all these letters,
- 27:21Speaker 8: you know what I'm saying. Add eight you know hg TV.
- 27:24Speaker 8: You know we can explain people's psyche and emotions. Now
- 27:28Speaker 8: that wasn't you know what I'm saying. This is four
- 27:31Speaker 8: or six, So you know we didn't.
- 27:33Speaker 2: I didn't. I didn't know she.
- 27:34Speaker 8: I didn't know about postpartum. She didn't know about it.
- 27:36Speaker 8: I just thought she was tripping. She's like, yeah, you're right,
- 27:38Speaker 8: leave me.
- 27:38Speaker 2: I'm crazy.
- 27:39Speaker 8: I don't know what's going on. And it was it
- 27:40Speaker 8: was just kind of like that type of dynamic going on.
- 27:43Speaker 8: And then being a religion, having a religious mindset, you
- 27:46Speaker 8: just take everything to Jesus and you just pray. And
- 27:48Speaker 8: I'm not saying nothing that's wrong with that, but that's
- 27:50Speaker 8: not it. That could be the first step, but that
- 27:52Speaker 8: cannot be the last step.
- 27:53Speaker 4: You need to get help professional health.
- 27:55Speaker 8: Yes, talk to somebody. I don't care if it's Grandma
- 27:57Speaker 8: or a therapist or somebody. But under standing the Bible
- 28:00Speaker 8: setting all by getting get understanding. And we don't do
- 28:04Speaker 8: that in the church. We just pray and praise things
- 28:06Speaker 8: off and it's not off us. So I had that
- 28:09Speaker 8: type of mentality and practice. It'll get better if I
- 28:11Speaker 8: just praise them and pray, it'll get better. Like Nah,
- 28:13Speaker 8: sit down, understand your mind, understand her, understand her body,
- 28:16Speaker 8: Understand all of that, and get understanding so you can
- 28:19Speaker 8: get wisdom so that this stuff don't happen again.
- 28:21Speaker 4: How did you guys get through that?
- 28:22Speaker 6: I mean, because you're on the road, Like you said,
- 28:24Speaker 6: you have obligations that you have to do for work.
- 28:27Speaker 6: Did you stop everything to do.
- 28:30Speaker 8: Ap sblutely, everything just stopped for three to four months,
- 28:35Speaker 8: everything just stop. I ended, I had a group with me,
- 28:39Speaker 8: you know, a little choir with me. I ended that
- 28:40Speaker 8: I just started all over. I cut my management. At
- 28:43Speaker 8: the time. Everything was it was just me and her again,
- 28:46Speaker 8: building again. I said, we're gonna build this thing again.
- 28:49Speaker 8: You know what I mean, cause it became my thing,
- 28:51Speaker 8: and it was you know, I just kind.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Of like enjoyed my space regardless of what my family,
- 28:57Speaker 2: you know, what was going on. So we built it together.
- 29:00Speaker 2: And you know what I'm saying. So she became my
- 29:01Speaker 2: manager first after all.
- 29:03Speaker 4: Of that, and she held you She was the first
- 29:04Speaker 4: one holds you down. What do you understand, y'all?
- 29:07Speaker 8: When we first got married, I didn't have I was
- 29:09Speaker 8: making two hundred and fifty dollars a week at my
- 29:11Speaker 8: family church. Her father passed her. Her stepfather looked like
- 29:17Speaker 8: the father since she was two years old. He passed
- 29:20Speaker 8: and left her some money. So when she was when
- 29:22Speaker 8: she was eighteen, she got it. I married her at eighteen.
- 29:25Speaker 8: I was twenty one.
- 29:26Speaker 2: I said, I got you.
- 29:27Speaker 8: Bathed on Worr everybody on making two and fifty dollars
- 29:29Speaker 8: a week whatever, she took her money, of course, gave
- 29:32Speaker 8: it to us. She helped me get the first apartment,
- 29:34Speaker 8: She helped get the first furniture.
- 29:36Speaker 2: She she like, I got it. I got it, bang
- 29:38Speaker 2: bang bang bang bang bang. And all I had was
- 29:40Speaker 2: a vision and a gift.
- 29:42Speaker 4: And she told her.
- 29:43Speaker 2: I told her so. She had a job at a bakery.
- 29:45Speaker 2: We had a gig at Sesame Street the day she
- 29:48Speaker 2: had to work, and.
- 29:49Speaker 8: The baker, the boss was like, Yo, you either gonna
- 29:51Speaker 8: do your your husband's thing or you're gonna build your
- 29:54Speaker 8: thing here. And I'm like, how she giving you an ultimatum.
- 29:56Speaker 8: You're nineteen, Like you know what I mean. So I said, Babe,
- 29:59Speaker 8: if you don't go to work today, if you sing
- 30:01Speaker 8: with me, you ain't never got to worry about that again.
- 30:02Speaker 2: You ain't never got to worry about money ever again.
- 30:05Speaker 2: I don't even know what made me say that, y'all,
- 30:07Speaker 2: because I was like, you ain't never got But I
- 30:09Speaker 2: was shaking it.
- 30:09Speaker 8: He ain't never gonna work, God, for real, God, I
- 30:13Speaker 8: was shaking in my books, like, trust me.
- 30:14Speaker 2: He was nervous. But she said, I'm coming with you,
- 30:18Speaker 2: and she's been holding me down ever since you had her. Yeah.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Period period so that's just.
- 30:22Speaker 3: What it is.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Period, like we ain't gonna know where we twenty seven
- 30:25Speaker 2: this year. I love that, yes years wow black love.
- 30:29Speaker 5: Yes, yes that it can work a lot of hearing
- 30:32Speaker 5: out stuff like that, Like no woman is about to
- 30:35Speaker 5: hold nobody down. No molds different now these days, right, Ye,
- 30:39Speaker 5: it's like a man now he gotta pay for everything,
- 30:42Speaker 5: he gotta do for everything. He ain't got no money,
- 30:44Speaker 5: he gotta leave more he at Really they don't have
- 30:46Speaker 5: no well you know what with social media.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very different now. My daughter fifty to fifty
- 30:53Speaker 2: with a man.
- 30:54Speaker 4: What you got about that? As a dad trying to
- 30:56Speaker 4: have your daughters.
- 30:57Speaker 8: She's twenty, I got a twenty one about to be
- 30:59Speaker 8: twenty two, and seventeen out to be eighteen. So they're
- 31:02Speaker 8: starting to bring little you know, guys around at the
- 31:04Speaker 8: house and stuff like that. It's different from me because
- 31:07Speaker 8: their friends know who I am a little bit, so
- 31:11Speaker 8: it's a little different respects a little I don't know.
- 31:12Speaker 8: I don't get all the drama.
- 31:14Speaker 4: Are their guy friends from churches or one is.
- 31:17Speaker 8: Okay and then one is not. Yeah, my theres are
- 31:20Speaker 8: two very different ones like me and one is like
- 31:23Speaker 8: her mother.
- 31:24Speaker 2: So I don't know. I just I'm just not scared.
- 31:27Speaker 8: But I just know the climate is very, very very
- 31:29Speaker 8: different now and now I feel sorry for whoever's dating,
- 31:32Speaker 8: but kind of feel sorry for like what it is
- 31:34Speaker 8: now because it's like, do you meet on social media?
- 31:36Speaker 8: Do you meet in person? Do you have how do
- 31:39Speaker 8: you how do you build trust?
- 31:41Speaker 2: How do you? I don't know how it is nowadays?
- 31:44Speaker 6: You're scared the cool world you got like Resa Tisa,
- 31:47Speaker 6: who met a man and who was a liar the
- 31:50Speaker 6: whole time.
- 31:51Speaker 8: Yo, But quoting scripture, yo, how about that? Be careful
- 31:55Speaker 8: for the Bible thumpers watch for the fruit, not just
- 31:58Speaker 8: what they say. Look for that fruit, y'all in their life.
- 32:01Speaker 2: I'm telling you. So it's bad. I feel I felt,
- 32:03Speaker 2: I felt you're paying a little bit. Brother. I don't
- 32:05Speaker 2: know what you're going through.
- 32:06Speaker 5: I was just I just look at social media and
- 32:10Speaker 5: I see what social media is, and I, you know,
- 32:12Speaker 5: I listen to your story and then I see what,
- 32:15Speaker 5: you know, what society is today to where you know,
- 32:17Speaker 5: women are talking about like you know, they don't want
- 32:19Speaker 5: to go fifty fifty on bills. They want a man
- 32:21Speaker 5: that's gonna, you know, pay for everything.
- 32:23Speaker 8: You feel like it's because they got so many options now,
- 32:25Speaker 8: like options now get somebody, you can date somebody in Russia.
- 32:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I definitely.
- 32:30Speaker 5: I definitely think social media has made it a more
- 32:34Speaker 5: variety of people to say, Okay, you want to do this,
- 32:37Speaker 5: but this guy, you know over here in this country,
- 32:39Speaker 5: he begging.
- 32:40Speaker 2: To pay my he went that green card.
- 32:45Speaker 8: I hate that it makes people dispensable, the fact that
- 32:47Speaker 8: we have so many options now, people are dispensable.
- 32:50Speaker 2: I'm good. I'm good.
- 32:51Speaker 8: I'm good because you know you could just you know,
- 32:53Speaker 8: go on your DMS and find so the value of people,
- 32:56Speaker 8: the value of human beings, the value of love, the
- 32:59Speaker 8: value of trust, the value friendship and authenticity to.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Me has gone down.
- 33:04Speaker 4: How did you meet your wife?
- 33:06Speaker 2: Rehearsal.
- 33:08Speaker 8: Our families was in the she was in Canada. Candon
- 33:10Speaker 8: is this big. So her family had a church. Our
- 33:12Speaker 8: family had a church. Our families knew each other. My grandmother,
- 33:15Speaker 8: who was a reverend, did the ceremony for her grandmother's wedding.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Oh wow, so my.
- 33:21Speaker 8: Grandmother married her grandmother and her her husband. So that's
- 33:25Speaker 8: how close our families are. I remember seeing her maybe
- 33:28Speaker 8: here or there. If our churches did something together. And
- 33:31Speaker 8: she was a little you know what I mean, little kids,
- 33:32Speaker 8: A little cute girl. She gonna get me the time
- 33:33Speaker 8: of day anyway. So when I started the choir, she
- 33:36Speaker 8: was like hey, she came to rehearsal, like, hey, I
- 33:37Speaker 8: want to join the choir, but I don't have a ride.
- 33:40Speaker 2: To rehearsal, Like could you pick me up? I'm like,
- 33:42Speaker 2: anybody here, you're gonna ask me to pick you up?
- 33:44Speaker 2: I know, ire't know what this is. Pick rehearsal on Saturday.
- 33:50Speaker 2: You calling me Tuesday? Yeah, I know what this is.
- 33:52Speaker 2: So she's how. That's how we kind of started kicking
- 33:54Speaker 2: it like that.
- 33:55Speaker 4: And y'all were young too.
- 33:56Speaker 8: He was like sixteen, yeah, she I had to be nineteen.
- 33:59Speaker 8: She had to be sixteen seventeen when we started.
- 34:01Speaker 4: Talking because y'all married at eighteen.
- 34:03Speaker 2: She was eighteen. I was twenty one one. Yeah, so
- 34:06Speaker 2: I had to be like going on twenty and she
- 34:08Speaker 2: was like going on, you know, six seventeen.
- 34:10Speaker 4: What advice do you guys give your daughters.
- 34:15Speaker 6: With relationships or yeah, like you know, picking somebody because
- 34:19Speaker 6: they're at your they're you know, almost one of your
- 34:22Speaker 6: daughters is past almost past age that you guys got married.
- 34:26Speaker 6: So do you like, you know, do you recommend people
- 34:29Speaker 6: getting married young? Do you want them to find their way?
- 34:32Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 34:33Speaker 2: It's pros and consta both. You understand what I'm saying.
- 34:35Speaker 8: Somebody has to be worth whatever, Like somebody's gonna annoy you,
- 34:40Speaker 8: somebody's gonna irritate you, somebody's going whatever. Somebody has to
- 34:43Speaker 8: be worth you loving past the offense. I don't think
- 34:47Speaker 8: we can get past offense in.
- 34:49Speaker 2: Our society today.
- 34:50Speaker 8: So our advice to our daughters is, if you can
- 34:53Speaker 8: find somebody that you can still love beyond an offense,
- 34:56Speaker 8: your love for them is more than regular.
- 34:59Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 34:59Speaker 8: People get cut off or your gar space as soon
- 35:01Speaker 8: as the defence happens. But a sense offense offense, like
- 35:04Speaker 8: somebody offends you, hurts you, disappoints you. I'm not going
- 35:08Speaker 8: to the party. He went to the party. I'll be
- 35:10Speaker 8: back at ten. You got back whatever it is that
- 35:12Speaker 8: would offend you. Most people can't get past that type
- 35:15Speaker 8: of betrayal or hurt or anything like that. If you
- 35:18Speaker 8: can find somebody that you can still that you still
- 35:21Speaker 8: want to pursue after an offense or a disappointment or
- 35:28Speaker 8: I would go as far as to say a betrayal,
- 35:29Speaker 8: but that's like in marriage.
- 35:32Speaker 2: That person, to me is worth that space in your
- 35:36Speaker 2: heart and in your life.
- 35:37Speaker 8: What do I tell them though? What I tell my kids,
- 35:40Speaker 8: I don't have like a general thing for them. They
- 35:42Speaker 8: just have over communication with me anything.
- 35:45Speaker 2: It just we talk. We talk.
- 35:47Speaker 8: So it's not like a find somebody in dark skin,
- 35:49Speaker 8: you know what I'm saying, or find somebody like skin.
- 35:50Speaker 8: It's just like, whatever's going on, talk to pops. So
- 35:53Speaker 8: we got that type of relationship. They can keep it
- 35:55Speaker 8: real with me. It ain't no judgment. So we walk
- 35:58Speaker 8: with them through every relationship. Even if been heartbroken, which
- 36:00Speaker 8: has happened, we were there with them through everything.
- 36:03Speaker 3: Question. So I'm approaching five years married and Congress wife, Yeah,
- 36:09Speaker 3: what advice do you have for married couples, because it's
- 36:12Speaker 3: hard to see people be together, let alone five years,
- 36:16Speaker 3: ten years, twenty years, thirty years.
- 36:18Speaker 1: You don't.
- 36:19Speaker 3: I don't really hear or see that on social media.
- 36:21Speaker 3: It's kind of like not normal anymore to me. Yeah,
- 36:24Speaker 3: as I'm scrolling on my timeline, Yeah, yeah, I don't
- 36:26Speaker 3: see people I think married for a long time and
- 36:29Speaker 3: happily married at that.
- 36:30Speaker 8: Yeah, I think the temperature of our culture is just
- 36:34Speaker 8: so hot right now that if you touch anything, you'll
- 36:36Speaker 8: get burned. What I mean by that is, I think
- 36:40Speaker 8: what's necessary in any relationship, especially marriage, humility.
- 36:44Speaker 2: That's like.
- 36:47Speaker 8: If my wife does something I don't enjoy, or let's
- 36:50Speaker 8: just go to the extreme and say she lied to me?
- 36:52Speaker 2: Right, I first think have I lied to her? How
- 36:57Speaker 2: many times have I lied to her? Why did think that?
- 37:00Speaker 2: That's to me, a humble approach to the how could
- 37:03Speaker 2: you do that to me? People don't have that. It's
- 37:05Speaker 2: just how could you do that to me?
- 37:07Speaker 8: So humility, knowing yourself, knowing, being aware of how and
- 37:11Speaker 8: who you are can help you deal with those situations
- 37:16Speaker 8: you might argue over whatever. So humility, honesty. That's hard,
- 37:20Speaker 8: you know what I'm saying, Because you don't want to
- 37:22Speaker 8: reveal yourself all the time. You don't want to get
- 37:23Speaker 8: naked with somebody. You know they the one where you
- 37:25Speaker 8: get naked with them and you're not ashamed, you know
- 37:27Speaker 8: what I mean. Adam and Eve was in.
- 37:28Speaker 2: The garden, they was naked and not ashamed. That's the point.
- 37:31Speaker 8: So if I can show you the real me and
- 37:33Speaker 8: not be shamed, you the one honesty, patience. Everybody's not
- 37:39Speaker 8: on the same All of these are hard, bro. This
- 37:42Speaker 8: is why we don't see it. Patience, bro Yo, everybody's
- 37:48Speaker 8: not on the same journey. Y'all could be married for
- 37:51Speaker 8: twenty seven years and she's still got a soul separate.
- 37:53Speaker 8: You could feel like you should get you should have
- 37:55Speaker 8: had it by now, seel, you should know that by now,
- 37:58Speaker 8: and then she could feel the same way about you.
- 38:00Speaker 5: You.
- 38:01Speaker 8: So it's that dance of considering yourself while you're walking
- 38:05Speaker 8: with somebody else, you know what I mean, considering you
- 38:08Speaker 8: while you walk with somebody else.
- 38:09Speaker 2: I don't think we do that. We just think of
- 38:10Speaker 2: what we.
- 38:11Speaker 8: Expect from them, what we want from them, what we
- 38:13Speaker 8: desire from them. And it's a very narcissistic view of
- 38:16Speaker 8: a relationship where the Bible says that it's not good
- 38:20Speaker 8: for men to be alone.
- 38:21Speaker 2: I'm gonna send him help. So the reason why another
- 38:24Speaker 2: human being.
- 38:25Speaker 8: Exists is for a help, not for sex. So I
- 38:28Speaker 8: need her to help. I got blind spots. I'm the man,
- 38:30Speaker 8: I'm the king, I'm all that, I'm the bread, but
- 38:33Speaker 8: I got blind spots. Not in life, you need to
- 38:35Speaker 8: watch out for Corey watch out for Stacy. Those blind
- 38:38Speaker 8: spots too, but blind spots in me. So a lot
- 38:41Speaker 8: of times the wife will reveal the blind spots in you.
- 38:44Speaker 8: And I don't mean having a conversation like babe, I've
- 38:46Speaker 8: seen it'll just come out in relationships. So how she
- 38:50Speaker 8: expresses it, how he expresses it is a problem. Okay,
- 38:52Speaker 8: Last thing I'll say, communicate versus express. We express our
- 38:58Speaker 8: feelings but don't communicate. So you, babe, what's wrong. You're
- 39:05Speaker 8: expressing any emotion, but you're not communicating it. The husband
- 39:09Speaker 8: coming in, you're expressing something but you're not communicating it.
- 39:13Speaker 2: You understand what I'm saying.
- 39:14Speaker 8: So I'm learning now to not just express because I
- 39:18Speaker 8: could be very clear in my expression, not to just
- 39:22Speaker 8: express what and how I feel, but to communicate it
- 39:25Speaker 8: because I'm not been used to that growing up. Communicating
- 39:29Speaker 8: my feelings. I could communicate my thoughts, but how I
- 39:34Speaker 8: feel about it is another deeper level. And again that's
- 39:36Speaker 8: getting naked with somebody, So we can't be afraid of that.
- 39:40Speaker 8: And I don't think people are able to reach those
- 39:42Speaker 8: levels in their relationships, which is why it just either
- 39:45Speaker 8: stays on a certain level or it doesn't last.
- 39:47Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 39:47Speaker 8: If it don't have that depth of patience, humility and honesty,
- 39:52Speaker 8: I don't know how I was going to thank you.
- 39:53Speaker 4: And I really like the concept that you and your
- 39:55Speaker 4: wife did when you wrote the vision out.
- 39:58Speaker 8: I literally wrote it like I literally wrote on a
- 40:00Speaker 8: piece of paper like this division for our live this
- 40:02Speaker 8: was gonna happen in our life, and I put it
- 40:03Speaker 8: in this. She has her commercial baking license, so it
- 40:06Speaker 8: was this cake glass up there. I just put it
- 40:07Speaker 8: in there and just sat it in there, and we
- 40:10Speaker 8: moved from house to house. I don't know what happened
- 40:12Speaker 8: to that thing, but everything got fulfilled.
- 40:14Speaker 2: That's in it. So now we write our next you
- 40:16Speaker 2: know what I'm saying in forty years or whatever.
- 40:17Speaker 4: And that's leadership. That's why she trusts you. But did
- 40:21Speaker 4: she have any bakeries or do you know for investing
- 40:23Speaker 4: one or.
- 40:24Speaker 8: At our shows? At my shows like taste cupcakes, so
- 40:27Speaker 8: something like that cakes or whatever.
- 40:29Speaker 4: She never wanted to go back into that.
- 40:31Speaker 8: I think she really dove into motherhood and when she
- 40:37Speaker 8: had when she had our kids, she like stopped singing
- 40:39Speaker 8: with me and she just focused on that to be
- 40:42Speaker 8: the mother.
- 40:43Speaker 2: A lot of what happened with my wife.
- 40:46Speaker 8: She growing up without her father again, her her stepfather
- 40:50Speaker 8: died and then her natural father. She didn't really have
- 40:52Speaker 8: a relationship with growing up without that dynamic. As you know,
- 40:55Speaker 8: you wrestle with identity and who you are, like she
- 40:58Speaker 8: wrestles with that and still some time a tennis match
- 41:01Speaker 8: to this day with her struggling to know who she
- 41:05Speaker 8: is and know her identity and be confident in that.
- 41:07Speaker 8: I say that to say, if you don't really know
- 41:09Speaker 8: who you are, she thinks a mother, I gotta be
- 41:12Speaker 8: a mother. However, she defines mother to herself. She just
- 41:16Speaker 8: you understand what I mean, went like totally overborn, because
- 41:19Speaker 8: this is gonna identify me.
- 41:20Speaker 2: So I got a kids over.
- 41:23Speaker 8: Yeah, she did really assessed over it in order to
- 41:25Speaker 8: gain an identity or validity in life, you know what
- 41:28Speaker 8: I'm saying.
- 41:29Speaker 4: Or how do you support her? Navigate her through.
- 41:31Speaker 8: That, encouraging her, letting her know like, oh, you did this,
- 41:34Speaker 8: you're doing this, and you're not just that, you know
- 41:37Speaker 8: what I mean. You're an amazing mother, but you're also
- 41:39Speaker 8: very creative, you know what I mean?
- 41:41Speaker 2: There's a oh, y'all got me going a little deep.
- 41:43Speaker 2: But let me just just just just a little bit
- 41:46Speaker 2: Bible study for you guys. In heaven.
- 41:48Speaker 8: There's a four faced angel, right face of a man,
- 41:53Speaker 8: face of a lion, face of an ox, face of
- 41:56Speaker 8: an eagle. The man represents humanity. Jesus is human. The
- 42:00Speaker 8: ox represents serving.
- 42:01Speaker 2: Or plow on the field. Jesus was a serve, he
- 42:03Speaker 2: was humble. The eagle represents like the bird's eye view,
- 42:06Speaker 2: he was like a prophet revelation. And the lion represents kingship.
- 42:10Speaker 2: Jesus was royalty. I said all that to say, not
- 42:13Speaker 2: to just explain Jesus, but Jesus is our example to me,
- 42:16Speaker 2: so we have at least four expressions.
- 42:19Speaker 8: There's something about for a winterspring, summer fall, north south
- 42:22Speaker 8: east west, four winds, four time zones, four chambers.
- 42:26Speaker 2: To our heart, I just believe you're not just one face.
- 42:30Speaker 8: You're not just the mother, even though you're an amazing mother.
- 42:32Speaker 8: You're also an entrepreneur and the queen. And you never
- 42:35Speaker 8: lose the mother face, even though you're focusing on the
- 42:38Speaker 8: entrepreneur face.
- 42:39Speaker 2: You're creative, and you ain't got to lose the mother,
- 42:42Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 42:42Speaker 8: I'm trying to I like to explain it like that
- 42:45Speaker 8: on one creature, there were four different expressions. So I
- 42:47Speaker 8: think to not just not to just make one everything
- 42:51Speaker 8: you are, you more free than bound, just to try
- 42:54Speaker 8: to be the best that.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Man.
- 42:55Speaker 8: I'm a creator, I'm a speaker, I'm a musician, you know.
- 42:58Speaker 8: I mean, I'm a writer, a comedian to my kids.
- 43:01Speaker 8: I just I embrace my different expressions and not just
- 43:05Speaker 8: trying to make one thing who I am.
- 43:07Speaker 4: Amen, And you guys are expressing it and live church
- 43:10Speaker 4: in Orlando?
- 43:11Speaker 5: Man?
- 43:15Speaker 6: And did you and your wife one of that? When
- 43:18Speaker 6: did you guys want to do that? Decide to open
- 43:20Speaker 6: a church in Orlando out of all places?
- 43:22Speaker 8: We left Jersey and went to Houston for a year,
- 43:25Speaker 8: not for a year. I thought it was gonna be
- 43:26Speaker 8: there for a minute. I took like a youth pastor
- 43:28Speaker 8: job in Houston. It was like oil and water situation
- 43:32Speaker 8: situation there. So it didn't quite work out. So we
- 43:35Speaker 8: was like, let's let's just go somewhere. I'm not going
- 43:37Speaker 8: back to Jersey. I'm not going back to Philly. I
- 43:39Speaker 8: fell in love with shorts, you know what I mean,
- 43:41Speaker 8: in the in the winter. I fell in love with
- 43:43Speaker 8: a short. Yeah, a T shirt the birds. Yeah right,
- 43:48Speaker 8: So I want to shovel no more. I got two girls,
- 43:51Speaker 8: I got no sounds to help me shovel. We're not
- 43:53Speaker 8: going back to Jersey. So most of her family's from
- 43:55Speaker 8: West Palm Beach, Boca, uh, Indian Town, all that stuff
- 44:00Speaker 8: down there. Her family is very heavily in South Florida,
- 44:03Speaker 8: really all of Florida. So I like Orlando. I remember
- 44:06Speaker 8: doing the show in Orlando.
- 44:08Speaker 2: I just like the vibes. I like the people, like
- 44:09Speaker 2: the multiculturalism. It wasn't just black. I'm like Walter, Yeah,
- 44:13Speaker 2: I said, baby, what about Orlando. Let's go to Orlando.
- 44:15Speaker 8: It's central. You wanted a little upbeat, you can hit Miami,
- 44:18Speaker 8: you know what I mean. I still travel, So that's
- 44:21Speaker 8: the perfect temperament, uh in tempo for my family. And
- 44:24Speaker 8: my kids were way younger at the time, so we
- 44:27Speaker 8: chose Orlando. And it's been, it's been. It's been amazing.
- 44:30Speaker 2: It's been amazing.
- 44:31Speaker 8: So when I traveled then at the time, she had
- 44:33Speaker 8: support of the family and the kids are like, what.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Disney is twenty minutes away, and let me tell you,
- 44:37Speaker 2: they went every day. Yo.
- 44:39Speaker 8: Yeahs whoa, it's expensive. Yeah, they get the passing on
- 44:47Speaker 8: that stuff like two hundred dollars, and then they had
- 44:49Speaker 8: a nerve to eat, to eat.
- 44:56Speaker 2: I said, what, so you don't put three gushers in
- 44:58Speaker 2: your pocket and all of the day, so you can't.
- 45:02Speaker 2: We fell in love with Orlando.
- 45:04Speaker 8: And then after a while I started feeling this, I
- 45:05Speaker 8: guess the spiritual climate of Orlando.
- 45:08Speaker 2: And I just heard God.
- 45:09Speaker 8: I believe I heard God say, speak to the dry bones,
- 45:13Speaker 8: you know, and command them to live.
- 45:14Speaker 2: That the scripture in the Bible that says can these
- 45:16Speaker 2: dry bones live?
- 45:17Speaker 8: And the prophets spoke and then like these bones like
- 45:19Speaker 8: came back to life, and they stood up and there
- 45:20Speaker 8: was a great army. So God was telling me some
- 45:23Speaker 8: dry bones here, they've been through a lot, they've been hurt,
- 45:24Speaker 8: they've been it's time to speak to them and bring
- 45:27Speaker 8: them back to life.
- 45:28Speaker 2: So we called the church Live based off of that.
- 45:30Speaker 4: Oh I love that.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:31Speaker 4: And what kind of churches is?
- 45:33Speaker 5: It is?
- 45:34Speaker 2: Old school?
- 45:35Speaker 10: Is it is?
- 45:37Speaker 2: I tell you that it is youth. Ain't nobody fall
- 45:43Speaker 2: asleep in there? Right? I don't think.
- 45:45Speaker 5: So.
- 45:46Speaker 8: Now they sing, they open up, they sing. I jump
- 45:52Speaker 8: up at the end of the singing, I speak, we
- 45:54Speaker 8: out of there. We do offering them out of there.
- 45:56Speaker 8: There's no program, there's no whole lot of hoopline stuff
- 45:59Speaker 8: like that. They sing, I speak, we fellowship love on
- 46:01Speaker 8: each other, and we were out of it. I say,
- 46:03Speaker 8: it's about ninety minutes. Okay, Oh that's great because we
- 46:05Speaker 8: be kicking it, we be jamming, just having a good time.
- 46:07Speaker 5: I love it.
- 46:08Speaker 2: I love the culture of live. I love the flow
- 46:11Speaker 2: of it is.
- 46:13Speaker 8: My whole family is involved in this now, not just
- 46:16Speaker 8: me on the road singing, and they support me, go
- 46:18Speaker 8: dad on TV.
- 46:19Speaker 3: We're all in it.
- 46:20Speaker 8: My daughter's doing dance there, and my other daughter's doing
- 46:23Speaker 8: children's ministry, helping the kids.
- 46:24Speaker 3: My wife is a you know, family affair.
- 46:27Speaker 6: Yeah, no, you know, it never reminds me of kind
- 46:29Speaker 6: of like Eric Campbell and her husband and literally their church.
- 46:31Speaker 4: And it's so funny how you guys came up on
- 46:33Speaker 4: the same label and you.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Guys are kind of like doing it even think about that. Yeah,
- 46:37Speaker 2: that's literally what's happening right now. Yeah, it's I love it.
- 46:41Speaker 5: Man.
- 46:41Speaker 4: We live in a city girl world filled with all
- 46:44Speaker 4: the dogs. You know, how does church fit in?
- 46:48Speaker 2: How do city girls fit in? I believe you know?
- 46:55Speaker 2: Oh man, how does church fit in.
- 46:58Speaker 8: I think church fits in because at some point every
- 47:01Speaker 8: city girl is gonna need help beyond anybody around them.
- 47:05Speaker 8: They gonna need some type of soul mental help that
- 47:09Speaker 8: even you can get the best therapist. God is going
- 47:12Speaker 8: to make sure he's needed.
- 47:13Speaker 2: Yo, I'm trying not to bang your table. He's a
- 47:16Speaker 2: jealous gud Yo. He don't play.
- 47:18Speaker 8: He don't play nobody else getting his shine. He don't
- 47:20Speaker 8: play nobody else getting So you're gonna blow up. You're
- 47:23Speaker 8: gonna be a citygo You're gonna be the hottest you're
- 47:25Speaker 8: gonna be at until something hit your life that's gonna
- 47:28Speaker 8: make you fold your hands and seek.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Something higher than anybody.
- 47:33Speaker 10: You know.
- 47:34Speaker 8: So God makes hisself relevant just through storms, and he
- 47:38Speaker 8: don't like causing them, but he allows them to be relevant.
- 47:41Speaker 2: This is so good right now.
- 47:43Speaker 8: They Jesus said go to the other side, and the
- 47:45Speaker 8: disciples were going on the boat to the other side
- 47:47Speaker 8: and a storm comes. It's like we obeying Jesus and
- 47:51Speaker 8: we went right into a storm. But then Jesus come
- 47:54Speaker 8: walking on the water and then Peter, you know, walks
- 47:56Speaker 8: on the water with him. God sent them into a
- 47:58Speaker 8: storm just to show them another side of hisself, you
- 48:01Speaker 8: know what I'm saying. So sometimes storms come to reveal
- 48:03Speaker 8: him in another way. So even in the city girl
- 48:06Speaker 8: world and in all this crazy and.
- 48:07Speaker 2: The baddies, you know all that stuff. You know, my
- 48:10Speaker 2: daughter just be watching this. Sometimes it's entertainment, right, are
- 48:14Speaker 2: y'all not becoming this?
- 48:16Speaker 8: So in that type of world, in their real lives
- 48:19Speaker 8: off camera, something is hitting them even on camera, you see, Like, man,
- 48:24Speaker 8: they're gonna need the help and the strength and the
- 48:25Speaker 8: wisdom of the Lord.
- 48:27Speaker 2: And whether they realize that now or later, I think
- 48:30Speaker 2: we're all gonna come to that.
- 48:31Speaker 8: The bombses, every niche, shehell bow, every tonshell confess that
- 48:34Speaker 8: Jesus Christ is Lord.
- 48:35Speaker 2: I'd just rather do it now then later.
- 48:38Speaker 4: Yeah, because it's like you know, like you said, even
- 48:40Speaker 4: your daughter is indulgent.
- 48:41Speaker 6: It's kind of hard to not see it, you know
- 48:44Speaker 6: when you have Instagram in so many social platforms, TikTok.
- 48:47Speaker 2: How do you feel about it though, y'all? Are we
- 48:49Speaker 2: laughing at are we entertained?
- 48:51Speaker 5: Or is it like, man, this is sad or it's
- 48:52Speaker 5: like that's just like my cousin to me, that's entertainment.
- 48:55Speaker 5: I feel like people should know the difference between what
- 48:57Speaker 5: entertainment what real life really is.
- 48:59Speaker 6: But kids don't know. Yeah, and that's why I'm asking,
- 49:02Speaker 6: like how do you navigate that? You know, especially having
- 49:05Speaker 6: a church as a pastor.
- 49:07Speaker 2: You know, it starts at home. Yeah, our kids been new.
- 49:12Speaker 2: It's the difference between.
- 49:14Speaker 4: Our grandmother's made us go to church.
- 49:16Speaker 2: But it's just like now they're not going.
- 49:18Speaker 4: You watching it on TV. You're not. You don't feel obligated.
- 49:22Speaker 4: And even if you're in there, you on your phone.
- 49:24Speaker 8: It starts with the parents, man, which they don't have
- 49:27Speaker 8: a lot. They just got their mom and dads and
- 49:28Speaker 8: da da da da dah. But nothing and no one
- 49:31Speaker 8: will be more influential than your parents between a certain
- 49:34Speaker 8: age that's the fact, the age of when you start.
- 49:37Speaker 2: Knowing who you are. Forgot what that's called.
- 49:38Speaker 8: My wife will kill me right now, adolescence or the
- 49:41Speaker 8: age of accountabil whatever, between zero to five ors little twelve,
- 49:45Speaker 8: no one will be more influential than your than your parents.
- 49:49Speaker 8: You know what I'm saying. If you don't have that,
- 49:51Speaker 8: you don't have an attachment to this world. You just
- 49:55Speaker 8: come out the womb and.
- 49:56Speaker 2: Just like who who should I be? Like what should
- 49:58Speaker 2: I be like, okay, sexual read yes, I have something
- 50:01Speaker 2: to it.
- 50:02Speaker 8: So if you don't create that attachment, if you don't
- 50:04Speaker 8: create that influence, and I'm not talking witchcraft and controlling
- 50:08Speaker 8: your kids, I mean healthy attachments with them. If you
- 50:11Speaker 8: don't have that, they won't know the difference between crazy
- 50:14Speaker 8: or entertainment and real life. So the parents have to
- 50:18Speaker 8: instill that into them. All the goodness, all the purity,
- 50:21Speaker 8: all integrity, all the character stuff. And I don't mean
- 50:24Speaker 8: like a nun, but I mean a well balanced understanding
- 50:27Speaker 8: of the world and the way the world.
- 50:29Speaker 6: Should be, because, like you said, I don't remember verbat
- 50:33Speaker 6: on what you said, but it's like, you know, just
- 50:36Speaker 6: because you see something, you're not of it.
- 50:39Speaker 2: Or yea yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 50:43Speaker 2: The Bible says we're in the world, but not of
- 50:45Speaker 2: the world.
- 50:46Speaker 8: So it's so so challenging to be surrounded by and
- 50:50Speaker 8: enclosed by something that you're you're not, You're not made
- 50:54Speaker 8: from the inside. You didn't see what I'm saying. So
- 50:58Speaker 8: but what you be, you be come what you behold, Right,
- 51:01Speaker 8: I say that a lot. You become what you behold.
- 51:03Speaker 8: If I keep watching that, I'm going to become what
- 51:06Speaker 8: I'm laying my eyes on. You know what I'm saying.
- 51:08Speaker 8: They say you're five closest friends. You become like them
- 51:12Speaker 8: the more you spend time with them, you know what
- 51:13Speaker 8: I'm saying. So the more our kids spend time in
- 51:16Speaker 8: front of this, the more they're gonna become that. But
- 51:18Speaker 8: if they're yeah, but if they're spending time with their
- 51:20Speaker 8: aunt or their uncle or you, they're spending time with you. Hey,
- 51:23Speaker 8: no phone dinners, we have no phone dinners at the crib,
- 51:25Speaker 8: no phone dinners. They're spending that time, and they're going
- 51:27Speaker 8: to become who they're beholding. At least at that age
- 51:30Speaker 8: is until they can make their own choices. And some
- 51:32Speaker 8: still rebel and be like, I'm not gonna do that,
- 51:34Speaker 8: but at least they have the option. I don't think
- 51:36Speaker 8: we have the option today, and that's scary to me.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:39Speaker 6: You know, another thing that was scary was when you
- 51:40Speaker 6: went viral for what people heard you say as far
- 51:44Speaker 6: as the church is whack, and that's what that is
- 51:47Speaker 6: what they said, that's what they heard you say. What
- 51:49Speaker 6: you said so much more than that, Yeah, So how
- 51:51Speaker 6: did you feel when that went viral? Shocked in that
- 51:56Speaker 6: same interview. I talked about how I visited a strip club,
- 52:00Speaker 6: and I thought that would go viral. But obviously people
- 52:03Speaker 6: didn't see the interview. They just saw that the clip,
- 52:07Speaker 6: and that's why they did that. That's why they chose
- 52:09Speaker 6: that clip, and that's why I did what it did.
- 52:12Speaker 6: I'm still from Candence. A part of me was like,
- 52:14Speaker 6: you know what I.
- 52:15Speaker 2: Mean, y'all gotta pray for me. Bro I was like,
- 52:18Speaker 2: hold on, oh, it was right there, but rushing cuss
- 52:26Speaker 2: and I might have custed my sleep. I don't know.
- 52:31Speaker 2: Very just like to me, I'm like, y'all know what
- 52:35Speaker 2: I'm talking about.
- 52:37Speaker 10: The church.
- 52:37Speaker 8: Person that had an issue with what I said, first
- 52:40Speaker 8: of all, didn't hear what I said. I never said
- 52:41Speaker 8: the church was whack because I don't believe that. I
- 52:43Speaker 8: believe we are the church. We are the body of Christ.
- 52:45Speaker 2: The systems, the politics, the all of that dumb stuff.
- 52:51Speaker 2: Oh see, I'm doing it again. It's whack to me.
- 52:54Speaker 2: What's the dumb stuff? That's why that's what.
- 52:56Speaker 8: Let's let's say I'm thinking more psychologic, psychological than then theologically.
- 53:03Speaker 2: So the thought process.
- 53:04Speaker 8: Around church when the like the rules, the rules, the perception,
- 53:08Speaker 8: when the bishop comes in. It's like, oh, it's like, yo,
- 53:12Speaker 8: you know what I'm saying stuff like that, if you
- 53:16Speaker 8: serve your church, you're serving God.
- 53:19Speaker 2: That's not true.
- 53:20Speaker 8: You can serve God by serving the church. But it
- 53:22Speaker 8: don't mean you when you join. When you when you
- 53:25Speaker 8: get saved at a church. They ain't nothing wrong with this, y'all.
- 53:28Speaker 8: I'm just saying stuff like this. They put you like
- 53:30Speaker 8: on a growth track. So you you you get saved
- 53:34Speaker 8: in the church, your life has changed.
- 53:36Speaker 2: Thank you Lord. I'm trying to cleanse myself.
- 53:38Speaker 8: Then they put you on a growth track in their church,
- 53:41Speaker 8: and then you kind of become a position in their church.
- 53:44Speaker 2: Now you the youth.
- 53:46Speaker 8: So the proof almost that God is in your life
- 53:49Speaker 8: is by like what you're doing in the church, or
- 53:51Speaker 8: how you're serving in the church.
- 53:53Speaker 2: Or he used to be a drug dealer, but now
- 53:55Speaker 2: you're deacon in the church.
- 53:56Speaker 8: Well do we have patience? Like does he forgive? Like
- 54:00Speaker 8: it's not about what I do in this building. And
- 54:02Speaker 8: I hear a lot of people say I love my church.
- 54:04Speaker 8: I love my church, and I ain't nothing wrong with that.
- 54:07Speaker 8: I don't hear a whole lot of I love God, yo,
- 54:08Speaker 8: I love my God, yo.
- 54:10Speaker 2: God. The focus is these businesses with God's name on it. Everybody.
- 54:16Speaker 8: I'm not talking about everybody. There's a lot of great gatherings,
- 54:19Speaker 8: you know what I'm saying. Live churches one of them.
- 54:22Speaker 8: But for the most part, what I've seen in my
- 54:24Speaker 8: forty eight years on this earth is a whole lot
- 54:27Speaker 8: of stuff that.
- 54:28Speaker 2: I don't think Jesus was talking about. And I'm gonna
- 54:30Speaker 2: just leave it at that. What do you how do
- 54:32Speaker 2: you feel about mega churches?
- 54:35Speaker 4: What you mean like like the big churches with ATMs
- 54:39Speaker 4: in the.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Lobby, ATMs in the lobby.
- 54:42Speaker 5: Uh, you know, passes getting on private jets and this
- 54:45Speaker 5: murky period because.
- 54:50Speaker 2: The church's money. I don't do God, I don't get
- 54:52Speaker 2: on private church's money.
- 54:55Speaker 4: Put the cash on the screen.
- 54:56Speaker 2: It's murky because the church. It's the two.
- 55:00Speaker 8: What I was saying is a business. The church ministry
- 55:04Speaker 8: is not. I'm here to serve you and help you, period.
- 55:07Speaker 8: But in order to do that, do I need a
- 55:09Speaker 8: building to do that?
- 55:10Speaker 2: Okay? I might need a building. Now need my mortgage? Pig,
- 55:12Speaker 2: can y'all help you with?
- 55:13Speaker 5: That?
- 55:14Speaker 8: Should be the dialogue, not five people staying with one
- 55:16Speaker 8: hundred dollars. So God can bless you. That's what I'm
- 55:19Speaker 8: talking about. You feel what I'm saying. Just say, hey,
- 55:22Speaker 8: we need windows on the joint because y'all help d
- 55:24Speaker 8: D you know, we just we just got keys to
- 55:27Speaker 8: our building. We're gonna move in there probably September. But
- 55:31Speaker 8: it's like, hey, we thank you. It's like, hey, we
- 55:32Speaker 8: need you, thank you so much, we need yours. They
- 55:34Speaker 8: about a ninety dollars who're gonna sponsor instead.
- 55:37Speaker 4: Of being a transparent versus just trasing.
- 55:41Speaker 8: God to fulfill your thing. You understand what I'm saying,
- 55:45Speaker 8: that's what God told you, or be honest with them,
- 55:47Speaker 8: like this ain't got this ain't about y'all. But God
- 55:49Speaker 8: told me I need to have legit.
- 55:55Speaker 3: I got you thought you feel.
- 55:58Speaker 2: Me because I think people get rocked with you. I
- 56:00Speaker 2: think people he tried to get me out there the
- 56:03Speaker 2: whole day. I'm not going out there. He tried.
- 56:07Speaker 8: I think people will rock with you if you're really
- 56:09Speaker 8: because they understand it takes money to do certain things.
- 56:12Speaker 2: It takes money.
- 56:13Speaker 8: So that's the that's the fine line between church and
- 56:17Speaker 8: just serving people and helping people.
- 56:18Speaker 2: And we still need that.
- 56:19Speaker 8: We still need that money because now, what do you
- 56:21Speaker 8: need that money for your lifestyle or for what's what
- 56:24Speaker 8: we're doing here.
- 56:26Speaker 2: That's the thing.
- 56:27Speaker 5: It always been always look kind of weird to me
- 56:29Speaker 5: growing up when I always you know, come from the hood,
- 56:32Speaker 5: and then I go to church and I'll be like, Mama,
- 56:34Speaker 5: why are we driving in this?
- 56:36Speaker 2: And the pastor we just gave him, ain't him my
- 56:39Speaker 2: twenty dollars for my lunch?
- 56:41Speaker 4: And that right there makes people not even want to
- 56:44Speaker 4: come back exactly.
- 56:45Speaker 5: I'm like, rid the pastor say, living better than ninety
- 56:49Speaker 5: percent of the people in the church.
- 56:51Speaker 8: So I guess I have to ask how you feel
- 56:54Speaker 8: about that? Because you're telling me how you feel about it.
- 56:55Speaker 8: That's not fair or equal.
- 56:58Speaker 3: Right.
- 57:00Speaker 2: We don't feel the same way with bosses at Popeye's right.
- 57:05Speaker 8: They can have a bends and their their their employees
- 57:10Speaker 8: can have aut right, I guess because we understand that's
- 57:14Speaker 8: a work environment.
- 57:17Speaker 2: Uh, what's what would be fair?
- 57:19Speaker 5: Then I would ask, I mean to me, what I
- 57:21Speaker 5: feel like what would be fair is that if you're
- 57:24Speaker 5: going to use God and you're gonna have people to
- 57:27Speaker 5: give you money for God.
- 57:29Speaker 4: Then my life should be changing.
- 57:32Speaker 5: Well, I feel like we should all be on the
- 57:34Speaker 5: same plan field you know, if that's if that's really
- 57:37Speaker 5: what the goal is, is to preach God and the prosperity.
- 57:41Speaker 2: I can't argue with that.
- 57:42Speaker 4: It's the prosperity while.
- 57:43Speaker 5: You driving, you know, you got passes on Instagram driving Lamborghinis.
- 57:47Speaker 5: And then you know the people that's at their church
- 57:49Speaker 5: is barely affording to pay their bills, but they still
- 57:52Speaker 5: going to church and they giving up their money and
- 57:53Speaker 5: stuff like that.
- 57:54Speaker 8: That's one uh if if if you go to a
- 57:59Speaker 8: church and who gives you money, like your job gives
- 58:03Speaker 8: you money, right, right, So you're gonna get what your
- 58:05Speaker 8: job gives you because that's your income from one place.
- 58:09Speaker 2: I'm not saying that's all you got.
- 58:10Speaker 8: But if if a pastor is getting money from thousands,
- 58:15Speaker 8: it's gonna be more.
- 58:16Speaker 2: You're saying it shouldn't all go to him.
- 58:19Speaker 7: I just I just feel like at least act like
- 58:21Speaker 7: I fail you right, act like we equal, Like you
- 58:27Speaker 7: understand what I'm saying. Because thousand people are giving me
- 58:30Speaker 7: a dollar versus one person, I'm gonna.
- 58:31Speaker 2: Have a thousand and you're gonna have one. Right.
- 58:33Speaker 6: I don't think that you're saying that you want you
- 58:37Speaker 6: want a piece of a pot I don't think BT
- 58:40Speaker 6: saying he wants a piece of the blessings. Yeah, Like
- 58:44Speaker 6: if you're telling me one thing and saying if I
- 58:46Speaker 6: do this, if I pray, then my life is gonna change,
- 58:49Speaker 6: and then it hasn't changed.
- 58:50Speaker 8: And you know, so how do you feel about people
- 58:53Speaker 8: who have UH programs and what is it called seminars
- 58:59Speaker 8: and all that stuff they selling onlines?
- 59:02Speaker 2: But they not using God to get my mind one
- 59:04Speaker 2: hundred they using God.
- 59:05Speaker 5: They not making me feel like, Okay, if I don't
- 59:09Speaker 5: do this, God is not gonna love me. And what
- 59:11Speaker 5: I'm saying is that all these kids that's in the
- 59:14Speaker 5: hood and in the projects, and they family is making
- 59:16Speaker 5: them come to church, they're looking at their family struggling.
- 59:19Speaker 5: And what I'm saying is like I'm not telling you
- 59:21Speaker 5: like the pastors shouldn't want to be good. I'm saying
- 59:24Speaker 5: that health these people don't just take their money. And
- 59:27Speaker 5: then you see somebody struggling or somebody parents can't pay
- 59:30Speaker 5: their bills, and.
- 59:31Speaker 2: Then you're just taking their money.
- 59:32Speaker 5: You're driving off in a nice car and you know
- 59:34Speaker 5: they mom is a single parent looking for Jordan just
- 59:36Speaker 5: gave you their last And I think that's what we're
- 59:39Speaker 5: seeing in the climate now the pride of man.
- 59:44Speaker 2: People being frustrated with the pride of man.
- 59:46Speaker 8: I've heard people say like, Yo, this situation wouldn't have
- 59:49Speaker 8: got that far had so and so humbled themselves or
- 59:53Speaker 8: came love. But they still pride. Like the pride is
- 59:57Speaker 8: frustrating the the victims. You know what I'm saying, So
- 1:00:03Speaker 8: that I don't mind my pastor having it, but you
- 1:00:05Speaker 8: walking by, the pride of man is really on display
- 1:00:09Speaker 8: right now, and it's frustrating people who.
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: Know what it really is.
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: It's like, you want your pastor to be French, you
- 1:00:15Speaker 5: know what I'm saying. But it's like, come on, man,
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: we know such and such in this church. We know
- 1:00:19Speaker 5: she's struggling. You know she got five kids. We know
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: she's a single mother.
- 1:00:23Speaker 8: And it's let me ask you this, if you had
- 1:00:26Speaker 8: a better house with your than your pastor, would you
- 1:00:28Speaker 8: try to help him or would you be like God
- 1:00:30Speaker 8: got him?
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: I'll probably say God got you.
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: See how it's turned, See how it's turned exactly.
- 1:00:42Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: I think I think, in.
- 1:00:46Speaker 5: All seriousness, I feel like that's when the church should
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: come together to uplift. Like I feel like if we
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: all in church, and we all want together and we
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: all you know, worshiping the same God.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: I feel like we should all help each other.
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: So if my house is better than my pastor house,
- 1:00:59Speaker 5: I feel like I should come to him and say, Yo,
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: what do you need from me?
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: How can I help you?
- 1:01:03Speaker 8: Yeah, I honestly feel like some of these megachurches have
- 1:01:06Speaker 8: systems in place to help give care to those who
- 1:01:09Speaker 8: are in need. I've seen that, and I've seen the
- 1:01:12Speaker 8: what I call wax side as well, and what you're
- 1:01:14Speaker 8: talking about. But I have seen systems in place where
- 1:01:16Speaker 8: if anybody in the church has a need, you contact
- 1:01:19Speaker 8: such and such. They go through a process and their
- 1:01:20Speaker 8: service gotcha want you. This is just me in the hoods,
- 1:01:26Speaker 8: just just what I saying. And I know a lot
- 1:01:28Speaker 8: of people like you. It's a lot of people feel
- 1:01:31Speaker 8: like I feel. So that makes you not want to
- 1:01:33Speaker 8: go to church, Like if it's a bad if it's
- 1:01:36Speaker 8: a bad waffle house here, do you not go to?
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: No waffle houses? No knowlogy, No, No, I don't. I don't.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: I don't think that.
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: I just think that people people sometimes in this day
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: and age, miss missed the message with the lifestyle. Okay,
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: you know what I mean, like, yeah, God, they missed
- 1:01:52Speaker 5: the message, and you said they miss it. They missed
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: a message with the lifestyle that you're seeing on social media.
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: So now it's like now you're saying, like pastors like these,
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: these pastors have all this money. So now if you
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: looking on social media, you not even really paying attention
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: what they preaching. You paying it, You're paying attention what
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: they have. And I'm just being honest because this this
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: is how I know a lot of young people feel
- 1:02:16Speaker 5: so and and some pastors attempt to be relevant.
- 1:02:22Speaker 8: They probably do put on a chain because if you
- 1:02:25Speaker 8: scrolling and I look humble, would you stop? You know
- 1:02:28Speaker 8: what I'm saying, if Drake is the next one looking,
- 1:02:30Speaker 8: if that's what the young people, I'm not saying they
- 1:02:32Speaker 8: should do that.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: I'm just talking.
- 1:02:33Speaker 8: I haven't even talked to anybody about this. I'm just
- 1:02:35Speaker 8: thinking objectively right now. The pastor's attempt to be fly,
- 1:02:38Speaker 8: he gonna have on a lowis shirt and speaking in
- 1:02:43Speaker 8: place a wag surfing.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: Y'all not gonna get me, y'all, don't get me. Y'all
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: not gonna want a pastor.
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: Got on a shirt.
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: What's wrong? What's wrong with the pastor having a Louis
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: Baton show wear that when you going to date, no
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: wear in front of people. That's browing it. Come on, okay.
- 1:03:00Speaker 8: So when a drug dealer get money and they go
- 1:03:02Speaker 8: back to their hood and the is that disrespectful? He
- 1:03:05Speaker 8: not selling god, he's selling dope.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: So it's that, it's that part. It's what you what,
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: It's what you shot you.
- 1:03:11Speaker 8: You know what?
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: For me though, for me it's also the bad the
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: ones that get in trouble, hunt it and make headlines.
- 1:03:18Speaker 3: That sometimes messes up my mind. So now when I
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: see something, I'm half.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: All right, he on point? Can I be quick?
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: Always is this money coming from because he's actually doing
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: good or is this money coming from he's getting it.
- 1:03:33Speaker 6: From or even pastors who have you know, do things
- 1:03:36Speaker 6: that are not right to kids or or to their
- 1:03:40Speaker 6: their spouses.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: So it's a lot of that that kind of messes
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: with the people's mind. So then when you see a
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: really good pastor, sometimes you almost.
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: Like skeptical and it's and it's the money too, because
- 1:03:51Speaker 5: we talk about the success that.
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: You had, care about the money that a man Listen,
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: I want you.
- 1:03:59Speaker 8: But you can always keep it real with us, Yeah,
- 1:04:03Speaker 8: is it a god complex or a man complex?
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: To me? Because if you all think.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: They present one thing, but they're really just.
- 1:04:13Speaker 8: But are you gonna be like are you gonna be like, Oh,
- 1:04:19Speaker 8: he ain't right. But I want God so bad I'm
- 1:04:21Speaker 8: gonna find somebody.
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: Whoever told me never to play with God? So therefore
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: when I meet someone I never met before, who would be,
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: let's just go to a new church. My grandma should
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: never play with God.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: So that's a possibility.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: This man could be playing with God in my face,
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: and I'm gonna be like, nah, now I'm gonna fall.
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: Back from God, No, from this God. That's what that's
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: his point.
- 1:04:47Speaker 6: That's an example of this is kind of like when
- 1:04:49Speaker 6: your parents got divorced and you thought one way the
- 1:04:51Speaker 6: whole time, you kind of straight away, but then you
- 1:04:55Speaker 6: always came back. You didn't do anything bad when you
- 1:04:57Speaker 6: were gone, like at the clubs, but you found your
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: way back because.
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: That was embedded in you.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: This is beautiful and it wasn't better than me in
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: that space.
- 1:05:05Speaker 8: I literally, to me for the first time, heard the
- 1:05:09Speaker 8: voice of God and he said, I know your father
- 1:05:11Speaker 8: hurt you, but have I ever heard you? I'm like, oh,
- 1:05:15Speaker 8: who is that I've been playing. I know a flat
- 1:05:18Speaker 8: C in F sharp. I don't know the voice of God.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: I knew church.
- 1:05:21Speaker 8: I didn't know God until that happened. And when I
- 1:05:24Speaker 8: heard the voice of God, then it arrested me. It
- 1:05:27Speaker 8: gave me all that stuff. I began to develop a
- 1:05:30Speaker 8: real relationship with God, like just talking straight up, y'a,
- 1:05:33Speaker 8: I'm gonna hurt man and building my a real prayer life,
- 1:05:36Speaker 8: not a religious father. I had religious prayers before that.
- 1:05:39Speaker 8: I heard Grandma and them prayer.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: I have religious praise before. Oh Glory.
- 1:05:44Speaker 8: Now since that I left, everything I thought was real
- 1:05:48Speaker 8: about God was fake because maybe it wasn't real to
- 1:05:51Speaker 8: me because I didn't even know. I thought I knew
- 1:05:53Speaker 8: his voice because I knew church atmosphere. So if it's like,
- 1:05:56Speaker 8: oh he's here, he ain't run around the church.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: God is here. But for myself, yo, I had to
- 1:06:02Speaker 2: go through that to know for myself that God is real.
- 1:06:05Speaker 8: So now in any environment, fake preach, a real preacher
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: phony corny da da da whack on point.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: I know from in here how to connect. I know
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: from there.
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: He is not.
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: So That's what I'm saying.
- 1:06:18Speaker 8: Don't let it to turn you from God, because you're
- 1:06:20Speaker 8: gonna need that anchor in you to know how to
- 1:06:23Speaker 8: move in any atmosphere.
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: Yo, whether you're in the hood or you're in the church,
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: you're gonna need that.
- 1:06:28Speaker 8: You're gonna need that compass and that that that that
- 1:06:31Speaker 8: God from within to protect you, to guide you, and
- 1:06:35Speaker 8: so you never be lost.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: You always know what to do and just to piggyback off.
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: That is just like over you know, Easter Sunday at
- 1:06:41Speaker 6: my church, the pastor was saying, you know, who do
- 1:06:44Speaker 6: you run to for forgiveness? Because you know he's preaching
- 1:06:48Speaker 6: the when Judas had portrayed Jesus and he tried to
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: go back and give back the money, and they wasn't
- 1:06:54Speaker 6: trying to hear it.
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: They didn't accept him, nobody. He couldn't run to nobody,
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: you know what I'm saying. So he's out like he
- 1:07:00Speaker 4: could fix it hisself.
- 1:07:01Speaker 6: And then he hung him hung himself, and it's just
- 1:07:04Speaker 6: like you know who he was just asking the people
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: and who do you run to? Like I think like
- 1:07:09Speaker 6: when these people, like you said, the kids and stuff,
- 1:07:14Speaker 6: you know, they looking at sexy reds and all these
- 1:07:16Speaker 6: people and what they think they want. But when it's
- 1:07:19Speaker 6: something really happens in their lives. They need to know
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: who to run to, and that's Jesus because he is
- 1:07:25Speaker 6: the way.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: That's good.
- 1:07:26Speaker 8: Yeah, that's that's literally what they should be hearing from
- 1:07:29Speaker 8: zero years old. You understand what I'm saying. When we did,
- 1:07:33Speaker 8: like when we did the prayer Sunday for resurrection Sunday,
- 1:07:36Speaker 8: he was like, man, who wants to be safe, who
- 1:07:38Speaker 8: wants to just start a relationship with God? So we
- 1:07:39Speaker 8: prayed them or whatever, and I was like, hey, don't
- 1:07:41Speaker 8: they don't stop here. Your journey starts here, y'all. So
- 1:07:45Speaker 8: I said, so just pick up a Bible, pray, pray
- 1:07:48Speaker 8: without knowing what you're doing. Read the Bible without understanding everything.
- 1:07:52Speaker 8: Because we talk to our kids before they understand what
- 1:07:55Speaker 8: we're saying until they understand us. So keep talking to
- 1:07:59Speaker 8: God til you understand. Keep reading the Bible until you
- 1:08:03Speaker 8: get it, because that's our father.
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: So we do have him to run to.
- 1:08:06Speaker 8: But everybody don't see or or not taught that option,
- 1:08:09Speaker 8: so they're forced to not force themselves.
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: And that is not the case. And had Judas waited
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: three days.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: Don't preach to me, girl, don't preach to me.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: Up in here, right. I have a seven month old
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: she about to be eight months old. I mean, I
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: got five kids, but this is number five. But I
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: just say, she doesn't know English. I'm talking to her
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: until she understands Yes.
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: And God is doing the same thing, bro.
- 1:08:32Speaker 8: It's a lot of people who just don't understand his voice.
- 1:08:35Speaker 8: It's a little we say, ooh, something told me not
- 1:08:37Speaker 8: to go there when they had a shoot out there.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: So that's something.
- 1:08:40Speaker 8: Is God that little that little we call it intuition, vibes, energy,
- 1:08:45Speaker 8: whatever you want to call it. I believe it's the
- 1:08:47Speaker 8: spirit of God leading us to safety, protection, wisdom, and prosperity.
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: For him.
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: Yeah, because you know, you know that may go wrong.
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: Only last for the night, only one night though.
- 1:09:04Speaker 5: But.
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: Joy coming to the producer of the show.
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: So joy come in the morning.
- 1:09:12Speaker 5: You have like a pastor community like are y'all like
- 1:09:15Speaker 5: in the community pastor community cool with oaths that are
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: that are like you. Yeah, Yo, yo, y'all got I
- 1:09:26Speaker 5: got comedian beef, He said, Yo.
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: Yes and no Wow, I got you.
- 1:09:33Speaker 2: Yo, I got you. You have punchlines, man, I said, Yo,
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: it's yes and no for me.
- 1:09:40Speaker 8: I don't I don't meet with all the pastors in
- 1:09:42Speaker 8: the community and all that stuff. We don't have like
- 1:09:44Speaker 8: meetings and stuff like that.
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: They they do. I'm not always invited, and I'm cool
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: with everybody.
- 1:09:51Speaker 8: Before I became the pastor in that church, I've probably
- 1:09:53Speaker 8: been to their churches or events, so we we we
- 1:09:57Speaker 8: probably crossed paths here there.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: So I'm cool with every body, but we don't have
- 1:10:00Speaker 2: like a network. Gotcha.
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: Yeah, Now this is this random, but how did y'all
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: feel about Kanye West? Been a pastor for two years?
- 1:10:08Speaker 5: He was a pastor whatever he was trying to do
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: Sunday services. He was trying to do something.
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: Did that?
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: Did that? Bother you? What he was doing this Sunday.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: I think he wanted to come to to live at
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: that time, we.
- 1:10:20Speaker 8: Rant a bigger church and on that to shoot the
- 1:10:23Speaker 8: video to do. Yeah, he was going to different church.
- 1:10:24Speaker 8: He was singing and doing their Sunday morning services.
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: He did a couple in Atlanta.
- 1:10:29Speaker 8: Yeah, and I was like, Yo, you know, I've never
- 1:10:31Speaker 8: met him. I'll say I would like to have a
- 1:10:33Speaker 8: conversation with him first before something like that happens.
- 1:10:35Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. I love what he's saying. Jesus.
- 1:10:37Speaker 8: Everything is like on point, but I just want to
- 1:10:40Speaker 8: have a conversation before I just be like, yeah, you
- 1:10:42Speaker 8: know what I mean, I say, Kanye here, So.
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: That never happened. I didn't feel bad. I loved it.
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: I was like, this guy screaming.
- 1:10:48Speaker 8: Everything he was saying was on point. Everything the songs
- 1:10:51Speaker 8: was glorifying God. I had no real choirs what he
- 1:10:55Speaker 8: does now.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: I mean in that and that time, it was a
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: little more.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: In that moment in time, it was exactly what it was.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: It was.
- 1:11:04Speaker 5: It was what it was.
- 1:11:05Speaker 3: I remember it because I was.
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: Like, oh wow, he was I was I was like,
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: this is dope.
- 1:11:09Speaker 5: But I always wondered, like, how does other churches and
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: pastors feel about the way he's preaching it?
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Yeah, a little bit, I love a little.
- 1:11:15Speaker 6: Bit different after but it was a cleanup after he
- 1:11:18Speaker 6: made a mess with the black community.
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: And then he went into see I know what black
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: people love God?
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: Is that what Trump doing?
- 1:11:25Speaker 3: Now?
- 1:11:25Speaker 4: I'm just saying, was we just talking about.
- 1:11:30Speaker 5: Selling bibles? Now he wasn't talking about using God. He's
- 1:11:32Speaker 5: selling Trump selling shoes. Black people love shoes.
- 1:11:37Speaker 6: It's like, you know, it's kind of blasphemous at the
- 1:11:41Speaker 6: so you felt like that was I'm just saying it
- 1:11:43Speaker 6: was like a cleanup for you know what, Well, I
- 1:11:45Speaker 6: done pissed the black people off.
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: What the black people love more than anything. God, I'm
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: going to preach that now.
- 1:11:50Speaker 5: You know.
- 1:11:50Speaker 6: It's kind of like I'm off of that and I
- 1:11:52Speaker 6: got my wife round here naked. You know, I'm not
- 1:11:55Speaker 6: sure that that is aligned with the word you know.
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: Yeah, it's kind of that's just outrageous all the way, Lizus,
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: you know what I mean?
- 1:12:01Speaker 8: He said, you know, I got a problem with Jesus
- 1:12:03Speaker 8: because when I when I pray, he didn't come through
- 1:12:04Speaker 8: for me, you know what I mean.
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: I was like, whoa, you know what I mean?
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: Anybody just doing Sunday service, Yeah, a year and a
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: half ago.
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: So I just wish I could have a conversation with him,
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: you know what I mean. But I love when he
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: was doing it.
- 1:12:15Speaker 8: I loved it at least Jesus was getting the attention
- 1:12:20Speaker 8: like I hate Jesus or yeah, look I don't care.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: I just love that it was being talked about on
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: that platform. You know what I'm saying.
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: So what would you say to him?
- 1:12:29Speaker 8: I would say, we are his children more than he's
- 1:12:34Speaker 8: our God. He's not obligated to do what we want
- 1:12:37Speaker 8: him to do. We're obligated to do what he wants
- 1:12:39Speaker 8: us to do. That I would open that by I
- 1:12:42Speaker 8: got not my own on my on my arm, because
- 1:12:44Speaker 8: I need that remind him the tattoo pastor.
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: Oh my lord, I've been here the whole day. I'm
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: so dark.
- 1:12:50Speaker 4: You ain't no yeah a sleep on ye.
- 1:12:54Speaker 8: I would just encourage that humility in approaching God, like, Bro,
- 1:12:58Speaker 8: he didn't come through for you when you wanted him to,
- 1:13:00Speaker 8: Like he doesn't.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: He doesn't work for us, He doesn't serve us. We
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: serve him.
- 1:13:05Speaker 8: You understand what I'm saying. And that would be the
- 1:13:07Speaker 8: first layer that I would try to communicate with him
- 1:13:09Speaker 8: in another way. I don't know how it will say
- 1:13:12Speaker 8: it throughout the conversation. That would be my theme like.
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: This, basically, just because it doesn't go your way doesn't
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: mean that you stray.
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: Bro.
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: One week they screamed Hosanna.
- 1:13:21Speaker 8: The next week they said crucify him because they thought
- 1:13:24Speaker 8: we were getting the king that was gonna kill Caesar.
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: Where your army at you? Here on a donkey? You
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: got these twelve guys with you? Wear your army. Are
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: you're supposed to save us from this work?
- 1:13:34Speaker 8: So because Jesus did not do what they expected him
- 1:13:37Speaker 8: to do or how they wanted him to do it,
- 1:13:39Speaker 8: he didn't have no army.
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: He actually respected Caesar.
- 1:13:41Speaker 8: He said render under Caesar with Caesars, give him his tax,
- 1:13:44Speaker 8: give him his money. They're like, what, crucify him? He
- 1:13:46Speaker 8: can't be because he's not doing it our way. And
- 1:13:49Speaker 8: we always do that. We don't scream, crucify him, but
- 1:13:52Speaker 8: we turned the arm We turned from him if he
- 1:13:55Speaker 8: doesn't do things how we want him to do it.
- 1:13:58Speaker 8: But we're his children more than he's our god, you
- 1:14:02Speaker 8: know what I mean. We belong to him more than
- 1:14:04Speaker 8: he belongs to us. If that makes any sense, that
- 1:14:06Speaker 8: makes it respective?
- 1:14:07Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, We'll be right back. Stay tuned
- 1:14:10Speaker 10: with more of The Baller Alert Show. You're listening to
- 1:14:15Speaker 10: a special edition of The Baller Alert Show.
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: What's up?
- 1:14:18Speaker 8: Everybody tie tribute here. Make sure you stay tuned to
- 1:14:20Speaker 8: The Baller Alert Show.
- 1:14:21Speaker 4: Only one night though. This is yeah right right, the
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: tours popping.
- 1:14:28Speaker 6: You know you're gonna be back here in Atlanta June sixth,
- 1:14:31Speaker 6: I believe, yeah, tune second. I'm sorry June second June today, it's.
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: The something that, oh we have a church that day, y'all. Hey,
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: the only one night though tour.
- 1:14:41Speaker 8: I'm excited about it, going out starting May seventeenth, going
- 1:14:44Speaker 8: throughout June again. It's a big deal to me because
- 1:14:47Speaker 8: I'm going out by myself again. I'm grabbing some friends
- 1:14:51Speaker 8: in certain areas. So when I'm here, I'll probably pull on,
- 1:14:54Speaker 8: you know, some of the artists around here, and then
- 1:14:56Speaker 8: when I'm in other cities, I'll do the same. But
- 1:14:59Speaker 8: primarily I'm I doing this myself, So that means a
- 1:15:02Speaker 8: lot to me that people are supporting it, that people
- 1:15:04Speaker 8: are buying tickets and people like we're gonna go see Tide.
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: That means a lot to me.
- 1:15:08Speaker 8: And on the business side, with the people we're partnering with,
- 1:15:11Speaker 8: they can see that and be like okay, and they'll
- 1:15:13Speaker 8: put more resources and other things I want to do,
- 1:15:15Speaker 8: like if I want to travel and do.
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: A podcast or a service somewhere.
- 1:15:18Speaker 8: You know, it means a lot to me that people
- 1:15:20Speaker 8: are supporting this tour because it opens the door to
- 1:15:22Speaker 8: more things that I want to do. Only one night
- 1:15:24Speaker 8: though tour, y'all coming to a city they you it's
- 1:15:26Speaker 8: about to be crazy. I'm speaking, and the spirit. The
- 1:15:31Speaker 8: theme what I want to say overall that whole night
- 1:15:35Speaker 8: is basically, well, my theme is freeligious. I'm starting this
- 1:15:38Speaker 8: movement called f religious freedom, from religious practices, from the culture, church,
- 1:15:45Speaker 8: and your family. Those are three things that tend to
- 1:15:47Speaker 8: bind us. We already talked about the church. Culture can
- 1:15:50Speaker 8: be binding to. We talked about culture too, the you know,
- 1:15:53Speaker 8: the shabby yeah. And then family sometimes could just be
- 1:15:58Speaker 8: a stronghold you can't move forward because this is how
- 1:16:01Speaker 8: we do here. This is da da da da, not
- 1:16:03Speaker 8: causing separation, but just an option of freedom.
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: So free legions is the theme. I'm doing new songs, y'all.
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: I'm doing new songs, y'all.
- 1:16:11Speaker 8: It should be out, the single should be I don't know,
- 1:16:14Speaker 8: but anyway, new songs, new music coming soon.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: Only one night though, sitting near you. I'm too excited
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: about this.
- 1:16:20Speaker 8: We're already planning it and we're already getting a little
- 1:16:23Speaker 8: setless and stuff together.
- 1:16:24Speaker 4: Like you said, books maybe come in podcasts.
- 1:16:27Speaker 2: All this stuff. Yeah, books coming.
- 1:16:31Speaker 8: I got a book coming called A Secret Place, and
- 1:16:34Speaker 8: it's basically what we talked about. The Bible says when
- 1:16:36Speaker 8: you pray. Don't pray like these pharisees all out in
- 1:16:39Speaker 8: the open. Go in the closet. Shut the door. And
- 1:16:41Speaker 8: your father, who is in secret, and if he sees
- 1:16:44Speaker 8: in secret, he'll reward you openly. I'm like he is
- 1:16:46Speaker 8: in secret. There's a secret place that we all have
- 1:16:49Speaker 8: where the Father speaks to us everybody, not everybody, not
- 1:16:53Speaker 8: just everybody, but every thing. God can speak and does
- 1:16:57Speaker 8: speak to everything he created. He looked at the wor
- 1:17:00Speaker 8: orders and says, stand up, my kids are coming through
- 1:17:02Speaker 8: with the red sea. He told the well, open your mouth,
- 1:17:04Speaker 8: swallow my prophet. He he, he told that, He told,
- 1:17:07Speaker 8: he cursed the fig tree. He he could speak to things,
- 1:17:10Speaker 8: and he speaks to people. I don't care if you're
- 1:17:12Speaker 8: in the hood. I don't care if you never had
- 1:17:13Speaker 8: a Bible in your life. I don't care if you've
- 1:17:14Speaker 8: never heard of Jesus. That's something that secret place. God
- 1:17:18Speaker 8: is speaking to you. So we all have access to
- 1:17:22Speaker 8: God church are not religious or not. He loves us
- 1:17:25Speaker 8: enough to draw him to himself. So secret Place is
- 1:17:28Speaker 8: a book. Coming out is kind of just letting everybody
- 1:17:30Speaker 8: know you already, you already got them.
- 1:17:31Speaker 6: You know what I'm saying, and uh, you need to
- 1:17:33Speaker 6: we need to support that, get you on the best
- 1:17:35Speaker 6: seller list, you know, attribute to all your other trophies
- 1:17:38Speaker 6: that you yeah, because you are a success.
- 1:17:41Speaker 4: Mann appreciate you so much. And I was gonna say,
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: for the only uh the only one night though, Are
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: you sure gonna say?
- 1:17:53Speaker 6: Luther van Drass is in my head for one night
- 1:17:56Speaker 6: for you know who has a great voice. But and
- 1:17:59Speaker 6: that's another thing Man R and B has changed a lot,
- 1:18:01Speaker 6: I feel like because a lot of the older singers
- 1:18:04Speaker 6: used to come from the church, you know, and it's
- 1:18:06Speaker 6: it's you know, that's the conversation within itself. But the
- 1:18:10Speaker 6: Only one night though song was that like in the
- 1:18:14Speaker 6: midst of a word or something, because the way it
- 1:18:16Speaker 6: comes on, it's like cold, and that's like immediately for
- 1:18:19Speaker 6: people who don't understand it.
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: I got a song a week gon b all right, yeah, right,
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: So after that song, we're gonna be all right, it's
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: gonna be alright. And I was just flowing, it's gonna
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: be all right. We've been man doing for tonight.
- 1:18:29Speaker 8: It just happened in that whole moment the song comes on,
- 1:18:32Speaker 8: We've been man doing fortnight, but it came from We're
- 1:18:34Speaker 8: Gonna be all right. You know we've been mean doing
- 1:18:36Speaker 8: for at night, but joy comes in the morning.
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: That whole song was a freestyle, y'all.
- 1:18:40Speaker 6: It sounded like it because I was just like he
- 1:18:42Speaker 6: just preaching it, just saying that, and they just put
- 1:18:44Speaker 6: the music to it.
- 1:18:45Speaker 8: Was like everybody was like that whole thing happened in
- 1:18:49Speaker 8: that moment, and we just decided to leave it just
- 1:18:53Speaker 8: as long as it is. The radio radio cut is different,
- 1:18:56Speaker 8: but it's just like ten minutes long. Yeah, which just
- 1:18:58Speaker 8: leave it all over.
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: You could pass forward if you want.
- 1:19:00Speaker 10: So.
- 1:19:01Speaker 2: People love it. They feel it.
- 1:19:02Speaker 4: It's cool though it's a vibe.
- 1:19:03Speaker 8: Yes, people are feeling it because it just can't It
- 1:19:06Speaker 8: was like a direct download. I think people just kind
- 1:19:08Speaker 8: of feel that that is happening in the moment.
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: And yeah, only one night though. Tour on the way. Sure, man,
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: we appreciate you betiding bother.
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: Thank you for I appreciate y'all. Please listen. We gotta
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: get the jail tales. Next time you come back and
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: you get.
- 1:19:22Speaker 8: Ready to promote your book, because you got some I
- 1:19:26Speaker 8: gotta tell you these stories.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: Though.
- 1:19:27Speaker 6: We're gonna talk about it a little make a deal
- 1:19:29Speaker 6: you give a jill tell betill, you give a church, tale.
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: Church and tail jail. I definitely got church. I love it.
- 1:19:38Speaker 4: Yes, before we get out of here that we do
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: have to have a pep talk.
- 1:19:40Speaker 2: What's up everybody? This is tied trippit. Listen.
- 1:19:43Speaker 8: No matter what you've been through or no matter what
- 1:19:45Speaker 8: you're going through, let me give you a little bit
- 1:19:47Speaker 8: of hope.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: Right now. There is a guy who cares.
- 1:19:50Speaker 8: I'm thinking of a Bible verse that says, cast all
- 1:19:53Speaker 8: your cares upon him, for he cares for you any
- 1:19:57Speaker 8: care that you have.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: It says cast it.
- 1:19:58Speaker 8: That means throw it, get it off of you, get
- 1:20:01Speaker 8: the anxiety off of you, get the stress off of you,
- 1:20:05Speaker 8: and give it to.
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: The one who not only can handle it, not only
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: can God handle it, yo, But that scripture says he cares. Wow.
- 1:20:13Speaker 8: I love the fact that you can give your cares
- 1:20:16Speaker 8: to somebody who actually cares for you. And remember that
- 1:20:19Speaker 8: weeping only endorsed for one night, but joy comes in
- 1:20:23Speaker 8: the morning. I remember being in Atlanta and it was
- 1:20:25Speaker 8: raining so hard and I was going crazy, and my
- 1:20:27Speaker 8: friend said, don't worry. If it's raining is hard, it
- 1:20:30Speaker 8: can't last long. And I want you to know that
- 1:20:32Speaker 8: in your life, if it's raining really really hard, that's
- 1:20:35Speaker 8: just because the enemy know his time is all most up.
- 1:20:38Speaker 8: Be blessed, be encouraged, and God.
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: Is with you. Peace. Can't get enough of baller Alert.
