[upbeat music] There's that catchy theme song, everybody.
• 0:23
Meaning it's time for Full S- my leg won't stop going. It's like, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo. Hey, you know, we've had it so long- [laughs]... we should just leave it.
• 0:30
Even if we do get something to play over, it's like, but this is the song. Oh, Romo's been working on something for a couple years. Yeah. I know. And again, it's the canned one that comes with Road, so- Right...
• 0:39
how many other shows have this as their intro, do you think? We should find out. [laughs] I'll pretty much wager that n- there aren't anybody, there isn't... There are isn't anybody with 250 shows using this intro.
• 0:50
[laughs] Right. For all of them. They're like, "Let's try a different intro." Other than ain't. Test show. Just use ain't. Ain't. Ain't is good. I like ain't. Ain't. Works. Ain't. Sun ain't gonna shine anymore.
• 0:58
I ain't doing a thousand shows, Tony said at the, uh- Sun ain't gonna shine anymore... what was that thing we did? The party? Mm. Hey, remember people that didn't show up at the party? Check this out.
• 1:08
[laughs] This is Chewy from Chewy Schlon, Cheer Show thingy, whatever it is we do. Uh, congratulations, 10 fucking years. I can't hardly believe it.
• 1:17
A, I don't believe that you guys have made it that long, and the fact that I've known you guys for that long is even weirder yet. So can't make it over this time, but have a great time.
• 1:25
We will see you on the bike trails very soon. Congratulations on 10 years, guys. Bye. Bye. Bye, Chewy. Thanks for, thanks for that nice little ditty. Oh, a ditty would be a song maybe for him.
• 1:37
[laughs] Yeah, but, but still- But it's a sentiment... nice call, nice shout, shout out. It's a sentiment. Yeah. A sentimentality. Thanks, Chewy, and just make more shows, 'cause by God, they're better than ours. Thanks.
• 1:49
They're entertaining ones- Sometimes... for sure. [laughs] That's for sure. Oh, boy. Rained on my head just a little today. It's a little, a little moist now. A little moist. Uh, what happened, what happened with you?
• 2:01
Hey. It's show 250. Hey, look. 250. You know what that means? Oh, yeah. Is it 250? It's the semi-quincentennial. Right. Set sem- semi- Semi-quincentennial. Did you look that up today?
• 2:12
Just, I'm looking right at it right now. Oh. [laughs] Did you- [laughs] I'm just- I'm even-... I'm staring at it right now... I don't even know how to say that luckily... I had to l- like, um, if you- Are you alive?
• 2:20
[laughs] I was, I was, I was, like, mouthing the word. I was... No, it's clumsy. It's a clumsy damn word. Show, show 250. Semi-quincentennial. That means halfway to 500? Yeah. Okay. I mean, if you break it down.
• 2:33
Right on. You get it. Well, that's good. We- 250's good. Yeah... we screwed up on 225, 'cause we could've called it deuce and a quarter. Oh. We messed up. Yeah. Electra 225, baby. Those are nice, nice rides. Yeah.
• 2:45
Hey, everybody, that- They wouldn't fit in this room... that's Tony talking over there with his new- What?... $20 Amazon rain pants on. 24. $24 Amazon rain pants.
• 2:54
Gonna see how these hold up against the very spendy showers past, of past- Two days of torrential-... version... rain, and I was... I thought for sure I was getting wet, and I took them off and I was bone dry.
• 3:05
I'm like, "Okay." You know? That's like wearing a garbage bag, though- Right?... kinda, right? No, I'm not sweating. I don't have any, you know, but I...
• 3:12
It has a cinch around, to you lovely viewers, it has a cinch around the ankle, um, and then it has reflective, uh, about that much reflectiveness on it. It's, they've been fine for the money.
• 3:23
I mean- Are they runner's pants, cyclist pants? Are they- They, they were listed as cyclist pants. Right on. But you can, like, throw a little bit of potato in there- You know...
• 3:31
cook it during your ride, 'cause it builds up to be- They do have side pockets too, which I find fascinating. You go to the potato like, yeah.
• 3:37
Like, exterior side pockets, that if you needed to put a wallet or something in, you could do that. Interesting. And it would stay dry. JK's over there. Hi. Hi. Wearing a clutch. Wearing a... Hey, clutch, clutch coming.
• 3:48
Well, nearest place they're coming- Mm... that I can see is Green Bay. Yeah, but that's with- Nearest place they're coming with- That's with-... Foo Man Chu is somewhere in Indiana or something. Yeah, exactly. Right. So.
• 4:00
Man. Road tripping. Foo and, oh, my God, man. That's a- So I had to wear- You gotta go through your L.A. noise... even though it's a sausage casing T-shirt. It's like [gasps] I'm sucking it in.
• 4:10
This is, this is- Going through the L.A. noise... I got this, I got this, uh- This is ab exercise broadcast... I got this one at the, uh, rocka- rockabilly chili contest. They had some awesome stuff.
• 4:19
Oh, that's, Tony got the white zipper. I too got the white zipper hoodie, and Cleo reminded me that I already bought it for her. I'm like, "Well, this one's mine."
• 4:25
Yeah, don't die a pink- But they're very thin and very fuzzy, and I think they're nuclear powered, because they get hot. I like thin and fuzzy. [laughs] I, it, it is, it fits under my raincoat well. It's a good layer.
• 4:38
I'm, I'm very pleased with my- Yeah, my smasher... sale purchase. My s- uh- I still have 10 written on my hand... my smasher T-shirt. Or T-shirt. My smasher, uh- 10 for what? To look for a couple 10-speed links- Oh, 10s.
• 4:48
Right on... or to find- Yeah, we can-... a 10-speed chain for Robert... we can go.
• 4:51
We- I, he had a little bit of a, Robert probably'll never listen to our podcast, but he had a little bit of a shell shock when I brought in my Segino cranks with a 54 tooth, but it's only a nine-speed.
• 5:04
I'm like, "I don't know if it's gonna work with your 10-speed chain." Yeah. It seems to work pretty well. It does, it doesn't have the narrow wide profile on it, does it? It does not. It does not.
• 5:12
But he rode it, and he said it went really fast, 'cause his eyes watered, and then he wanted to know how much I wanted for it. I'm like, "Well, let's see what these are worth." Let's see if it works. Yeah.
• 5:20
And- The, they might be a little bit wide for a 10-speed maybe. He, he seemed to be okay. I think I'm just gonna let him use them for a while and see, but he was not ready for what those cranks, so if we're new.
• 5:30
Oh, right on. I mean- Does it need more links in it to go for the fiddy fo? Right. We got, I know we have some stuff. I can, I- Otherwise, just a 10, I'll buy a 10-speed chain- Yeah, we have got some stuff-...
• 5:41
and we'll use his old chain to-... you could, mixing and matching chains isn't that great an idea, but, um- No, of course not...
• 5:46
we have some takeoffs that will probably be fine, and I could make it, like, mega long, and then you just have to cut a link out and put a- Mega long... put a, put a quick link in there maybe. Right. Property of Toho.
• 5:57
Is that... [laughs] Rolls have a quick link, though, don't they, from Zachary Moss? That's just mispronounced. Megalon. Who do? Roll. Uh, everybody- Roll... has a quick link now, I think. I mean- Hey...
• 6:06
you, well- Not my, not my Chinesium- It's sort of goofy, people riding eighth inch chains... not my Chinesium cargo bike. No? I don't think so. Is it an eight speed or seven speed? Seven. Yeah, eh, probably not on that.
• 6:19
Might have a master link. I, um- Eighth inch- Well-... if you look in the right lighting. Oh, yeah... it's an eighth inch. Bottle opener- I, um-... extraordinaire...
• 6:27
we're, we're digressing, but I was riding to work- Oh, no... and decided to try pedal assist four for the first time, because I just don't really care. Uh, it's a torquey motor.
• 6:39
Four, three versus four is like, "Oh, my God." It'll lift the front... If I have my feet on the ground and I want to accelerate from a stoplight, it lifts the front wheel. [laughs] I'm like, "Okay, I see that."
• 6:49
Do a papa wheelie on the thing. You know? [laughs] I'm like, okay, I... But, yeah, it is, it's the same top speed, but it gets there way faster.
• 6:57
I saw it out in front of, uh, Metro Market the other day or something up on- I was getting my glasses this, yesterday. Oh, okay. Yeah, I saw it about 3:00, thirsty in the afternoon. That was me?
• 7:05
There's a, there's a- I have dilated pupils... I, I can, I can tell because of the, uh- There's another Ludicrous in the Shorewood Zone... but not with an ostrich saddle on it. Right.
• 7:12
Well, well, yeah, but- And soon to be MoLocal handlebars... when you see the profile coming down the road or, like, "Wait, is that, uh..." I also have my- You'd be a little off-pissed probably...
• 7:21
I think I've gotten pretty creative, 'cause I have my s- my panniers now on the outsides of the Orbiter, so Daniel can sit in between the pannier
• 7:30
and the, the frame of the bike, so he's got a little even added protection. From the panniers? The pannier, you know, provides a little bit more of a, of a padding there. Um, but yeah, I'm gonna put...
• 7:42
I'm gonna get a stem extension. I, I, I looked at it a little more closely. Science technology You know, a one-eighth inch stem extension. That's the E for engineering- Back to one-eighth... mathematics. Right. Right.
• 7:51
Yeah. And put my MoLocos on it, and that's gonna make that touring bike, touring cargo fat bike night and day. It's gonna be so much fun. It's gonna look ridiculous. I'm gonna love every second of it. Burpee Beer. Yeah.
• 8:04
Burp. Burpee Beer. Oh, we are almost to the hill, aren't we? Well, we'll get there eventually. Uh, quick, quick Milwaukee. Did we... We're all still talking Milwaukee stuff, aren't we? Yeah. Yeah. Slightly.
• 8:13
Quick Milwaukee business. Uh, Fat Tire Tour of Milwaukee, June 15th. Coming, coming here to Milwaukee. I was excited. Until? I realized it's the same day as the turf benefit. Ugh. No. Yes. No.
• 8:28
Well, we don't have to be- Yes... out there till later. Well, there... Hmm. No, I'm going to that. Let's put it this way. That's a whole day. Let's put it, let's put it this way. The whole day. It normally ventures west.
• 8:38
Oh, yeah? And the event is about 60-ith, if- Not even 60. 50. Yeah, 50, 50-something-ith and Layton. Yeah. It's just a southern kind of- I already looked it up.
• 8:49
It's, it's 11 miles from, uh, our studio Yeah, it's not undoable by any stretch. It's just the easiest way to get there is Forest Home, which is maybe fine in the daytime, but not so great- Yeah...
• 8:58
at 11:30 or night when it's like- No, no, we would backroad it... well, I'm thinking of the exit. Yeah. Yeah, the exit strategy. Yeah, we would back, we would backstreet that for sure. Or back-bus it.
• 9:05
[laughs] Well, if, uh, I'm gonna be- That's sketch. That'd be sketch... do you want to be, do you want to be motorized? Probably. Might be a good, it's a good motorized, uh, ride. Mm-hmm.
• 9:14
I can bring the Smitty out and- Well, that- The key to this thing- [laughs] That's what I'm thinking. [laughs] So Fat Tire Tour Milwaukee, June 15th. That'll start at probably 9:30, 10:00 in the morning.
• 9:25
Yeah, they actually already have the- Usually roll out- 10:15 is when they roll out. Yeah. And it's also- And registration at 8:00... it's also a Peewee, Peewee's Big Adventure theme once again. Yeah, 40th year, man.
• 9:35
Geez. Yeah. So- Yeah, and they're resurrecting the- P-O-U-I. Yes. Peewee's, uh- See? [laughs] It is. Burpee. [laughs] Misadventure theme. Uh, that was one of the first ones I had gone on.
• 9:50
Uh, it was pretty close to one of the first ones for me too, 'cause somebody at- This was 2011, I want to say... Sobehmans did an absolutely perfect Peewee dance on the picnic table.
• 9:59
I, yeah, I remember being a bit overwhelmed. The dude was... Yeah, it was absolutely incredible. He did it so well. I was like, "He's obviously watched that scene, like, 50 times." 'Tweren't me.
• 10:12
Yeah, and then it went out- It was not you, for sure... and then it went out to Benno's, if I'm not mistaken. Yeah, and we did, uh, we did, uh, keg pushes. Yeah, yeah.
• 10:19
They still do them on, on the things, but I'm, I'm like the fr- Benno's is gone though, right? Benno's is gone. Yep. Well, the building is still there. I think it's sold, even though- It's turned into something else...
• 10:29
somebody, somebody, come, come- They're already going to open into something else... bring your business in here and work, and work with me here... bring it on in... uh, so yeah, that's, that's that thing.
• 10:36
And, uh, so this, uh, this other thing, this Surf N Turf Skate Park, Tony Hawk's been there before. Mm-hmm. Uh, benefit Agent Orange. I mean, that's- Hell yeah Come on. Yeah... obvious reason to go there.
• 10:45
And also- And just even for the, for the local talent, the Crossons and- And it's just a, a good eclectic- Yeah... what I listen to kind of- When you were skating there... well, no.
• 10:54
I mean, just in ter- like, in terms of what I listen to. Like, oh, hey, I got some surf rock with exotics, but a, like, like Screaming Ass- Exotics too. God, yeah... Scam Likely. Yeah. Pretty chill, by the way.
• 11:05
Is Scam Likely Lee's, Kerry's band? Kerry Dean. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. That's, he's the drummer. Oh, okay. That was a... So I decided- I knew the band, I knew the band independent of Corey. Of Kerry? Kerry, I mean. Yeah.
• 11:16
And I was just like, I'm like, I know the... He looks familiar, but da, da, da, da, da. Pieces and parts. It was, um, it was a, I decided I wanted to see him, and I, he's, he's such a cool cat.
• 11:26
And I decided to go on Saturday. I rolled over there. [laughs] I got there at, like, 8:30, and I'm like, "Oh, man." The opening band goes on, and I'm like, "Oh, God, 8:30. They're a half hour late.
• 11:37
I'm gonna be here all night." Uh, it was the second band. Oh, nice. So the first band only played a few songs and were o- yeah. Mm-hmm. So Scam Likely was old man approved, 'cause it was done by 11:00. Oh, awesome.
• 11:49
I, I was able to roll home. Oh. It was beautiful money. I got a feeling that venue is very curfew. I think it is. Because it's- All the-... kind of right in that- Yeah... little condo land.
• 11:58
Kerry's one of the W- Wheelie Wednesday kids, isn't he? Yeah, Kerry's one of the- First one... first guys that came into our bike shop. Yeah. Tall. True. Yeah, I know, long hair, tall. Super tall, long-haired. Fixie.
• 12:07
It, the funniest thing about that is I had- Wellies... when I was a member of Buy Nothing River West, I threw my snow tires on and- He responded, "I think those are perfect for my Civic." And I looked it up.
• 12:16
I'm like, "Nah, I think you got a five bolt." And it turned out it was, they were perfect for a Civic. And then he came over again, I'm like, "Kerry, I only put two and two together that it's you- [laughs]...
• 12:25
when you pulled into my alley." [laughs] So yeah, he's a good cat, and the show was fucking great. I mean, it was... They did a, uh, their, uh... Charlie, the- Yeah... lead singer really got a great range.
• 12:39
Um, really fun. Her parent, her dad plays the, in The Lovelies? Uh, no, Love Monkeys. The Love Monkeys, that's it. Uh, the Monkey Spankers. The Lovely Mon- They're The Lovely Monkeys... the Lovely Monkey Spankers.
• 12:52
But yeah, I, I love, I, 'cause w- Excuse me... I feel that I have- Their dad. I screwed that up... I have, uh- Oh, yeah... caught them at, like, really from Incubus almost time.
• 13:06
'Cause they, they played, uh, Center Street- Hm... at the Uptowner stage, just out of nowhere. I was like, "Oh, that's a clever name."
• 13:12
And then I went in to get a drink, and b- they were just shredding, like, while I'm waiting. And then Bob comes over. He's like, "Who the fuck is this?"
• 13:21
[laughs] [laughs] It's like, uh, th- 'cause they were almost, like, hitting Bad Brains type shred, and then coming back around and, you know. Yeah. Nice, nice. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, they've been just... I've, I've...
• 13:33
Not, I don't wanna say groupie or stalker, but, uh- [laughs] You know, if they're on a bill, it's like, shit, I gotta check it out- Yeah... if I'm in the area. It's worth it.
• 13:40
And it's worth it, so endorsement if [laughs] oversight- There we go... I did that. Ah. Did you guys notice I called the winner of the best meat at the- You did... at the chili- You did... chili contest? Yep.
• 13:49
I was surprised Beat- Red Maple... and I was- I was surprised Beat Your Meat didn't- Oh, wait... [laughs] didn't get in there. No. That was, uh, that was Joe. Well, Joe was at that booth. Yeah, yeah.
• 13:58
So the, the- That reminds me of Mark-... Indian place- Mark's chili... didn't win best meat. You're right. Yeah. The Indian place won everything else. Like, most eclectic or some such.
• 14:06
Yeah, strangest and also, I li- uh, they had the biggest line- I smell, I smell something rotten in the state of- Well, I know... Denmark. Oh, it was a big line. Every year- And Red people loved it...
• 14:14
no, every year there just seems to be this one seated line that just is perpetually long, and it's always something different. Huh. It's just- Okay. Conspiracy moments with me. Yeah.
• 14:25
Well, Red Maple doesn't actually serve food, do they? I think occasionally. Yeah, it's like it was... But what reminded me of that chili that was so great is it tastes a lot like chili I normally make. [laughs] Yeah.
• 14:35
[laughs] That was really good. That was really good. That's like, um- That's very similar... Jack's one year did a chili, and they don't make chili at their restaurant, and it was- Yeah, I think a few of those-...
• 14:43
phenomenal... didn't or don't. And the, the thing about Jack's is they just hand it to you. You didn't even ask for a ticket. They're like, "Here, just eat it." Oh, yeah, yeah. Get a lot of it.
• 14:49
Oh, I remember, uh- It was like, "Whoa"... Steve, Steve Roche- Yeah... one, one year- So here's a-... was just like, "Just h- have some and think of us fondly." [laughs] Yeah. I'm like, "Of course I will. Oh."
• 14:58
Here's a- But- Hippy Steve. [laughs] Here's a, here's a thing that, uh, we've talked about before that's coming up on May the 4th. I don't know what else is going on that day that we might goof up. Oh. Oh.
• 15:08
But, um- Like-... there's, this is the, this is the Mayday Mayhem in Osage. Oh, yeah. Guess who called in to say, "Hey." Mike Lang, Derek Mauser here. In the words of Stevie Wonder, I just called to say I love you.
• 15:23
[laughs] And I mean it from the bottom of my heart. Congratulations on 10 years of podcasting. Me and the rest of the GOATs thank you for your support within the biking community. Kudos to you guys. Peace out.
• 15:38
[laughs] People really listen to our podcast. Thanks, Derek. That's nothing. I mean, that's crazy. Well, he's been on the show before. He talked about that event. We had him- But he's still listening. Well, yeah.
• 15:47
I mean, you know, we got- I mean- We gotta build them up- We're not that re- repellent. [laughs] We gotta build them up one by one by going to visit where they are- Why don't you do, Bill?... and then they listen.
• 15:55
'Cause they're like, "Wonder what those guys are doing over in Milwaukee." It's kinda like Chewy. What are those guys doing in Decorah? What are those guys doing at Sage?
• 16:02
What are those, what is that guy doing up in, um, you know, northern Wisconsin? It, it's like kind of a little symbiotic relationship to listen to what each other's doing. It's true.
• 16:14
I, I don't know if it's, if it just happened or if it's coming up this weekend, but Sealey Dave is doing or did a deal about his bike-packing library thing- Mm-hmm... in, I think, Eau Claire.
• 16:26
Yeah, that's- Coming, and- Ooh, yes... and I think he's doing one in Wausau later. Should I... I- in case Sealey Dave's listening, should I really make him frightened? No. What'd you do?
• 16:37
Uh, Sealey Dave, in case you're listening, my ass was on your saddle today. [laughs] I put on my Sally, Dave's old Sally. I am riding my, uh, I, I call him Raul Castro, my Castrovalley.
• 16:54
The, the bike? My Bi- my Bianchi. Oh, right on. So I figured it had fenders. It's a nine-speed. It's a perfect win-, uh, you know, rain ride. And I'm like, "But I don't have a seat or seat post."
• 17:05
So as soon as I got home I said to Molly, I'm like, "Hang on, I gotta go take care of a bike quick." I rode a Sally this week. It was O- it was Eau Claire yesterday. Oh, okay. It was yesterday. Okay. Okay. All right.
• 17:15
Well, bike tracking, if it gets to Wausau you should check it out.
• 17:19
It's, uh, and it's based up there in, uh, Sealey, but basic idea is if you need to borrow some bike-packing gear, he has a good collection of very good top quality stuff. Yeah, he does.
• 17:30
The kinda stuff that you probably wouldn't buy for yourself. You know? Like- Yeah, not, unless you're hardcore and using it- The Big Agnes tents and stuff... daily-ish. Yeah. Touring. Right. Yeah, he definitely does.
• 17:40
His collection's impressive. Yeah. So- Does he have hills? There's hills. There's sand. [bell rings] Oh. [laughs] That was an anemic bell, d- there we go. [bell rings] That's a bike- I'm, I'm-...
• 17:54
that's a bike-cracking bell... weird. I'm- By the way, uh- There's weird geometry shapes in m- I'm dealing with... by the way, I was very excited to have a bike
• 18:02
that has a bell when I rode past, past Matt Baron's house today so I could give him a bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing, bing. Little bingy dingy. [laughs] And I got the Kug, Koga?
• 18:12
How do you spell that, pronounce that company's name? The Australian- Knog... Bell. Knog? Knog Knog. Yeah, whatever it is. I have that bell- The silent K...
• 18:20
that Molly broke after like two days of using it, so I emailed the company and they asked me to send it back and I actually didn't ask to send it back. Are they- They just sent me a brand-new one...
• 18:30
I wonder, are they still around? That's a good question. That's a, yeah, that's a- So many stuff's going away. Yeah. Lamenting the loss of many of the old cool stuff. They had some- Knog... really neat lights and stuff.
• 18:40
Bell. Oh, yeah. They, they had the, uh- Oh, they still got some on the-... that little storage brick... they still... You know what I wish? That you- I don't have a... I was gonna-... would put their skinny tires in...
• 18:48
trying to push the button on this. It doesn't work. I can't push the button on the screen. Dagnabit. Talk, talk into the mouth. Dagnabit. Does the, the- Come on.
• 18:56
Does the Apple- Star Trek reference from- The Apples that Be make a touchscreen laptop? Who, huh? The Apples that Be. These guys. What about them? Do they make a touchscreen laptop? Sure. It's called an iPad. So, no.
• 19:07
They don't. Yeah. It's an iPad. That's not a laptop. You should... They- It's like saying a Surface Pro is a laptop. It's not. [laughs] It's not. Does it have a detachable screen? It has a detachable keyboard.
• 19:18
[laughs] So does an iPad. Right. You guys are so close to King Missile. [laughs] Right. So it's the same, it's the same freaking device. Detachable. Neither one of them are a laptop. Detachable.
• 19:26
[laughs] Like- Is it an actual penis? Hey, actually- Hey. I, I, I found it- Great song... I found it laying on a blanket. [laughs] The guy wanted 10 bucks.
• 19:36
I talked him down to- If my penis goes missing- All right, let's do-... or whatever, we're done... all right. We, we've gone down the penis ra- you know, rabbit hole. It has- Only one...
• 19:44
Molly had to show Daniel that we're trying to get him to wear underpants. Daniel, I love you. You'll listen to this, you'll just from now on be mad at me. And Molly had to show him that they have a trapdoor.
• 19:55
Front, front trapdoor so he can take them- Does anybody use that front trapdoor? No one ever does, but Daniel walked around for an hour with his dick hanging out. Oh, nice. Was he doing the helicopter and whatnot?
• 20:02
Just, he was just like- Yeah, yeah... he's just like, no, he was just like walking around like, "Dad, Dad." [laughs] I'm like, "Daniel, I know. I know, man."
• 20:09
[laughs] Normally you don't have any underpants on at all, so at least you had it on. I don't know why they bother wasting the sewing time to make- Right?... those things anymore. Molly even asked me that.
• 20:17
She's like, "Did you ever use that?" I'm like, "No. No one-" It's for structural integrity. Maybe it's for making- Well, maybe. Maybe... maybe for making the shape more prominent and round. Oh, maybe. I don't know.
• 20:26
I don't know. We should go back in time and find out why the hell they put that- Well, there's that company that's got the little hammock in there. That's- What? A what? A nut hammock. A hammock? A hammock for your nuts.
• 20:38
Isn't that a jock? Isn't that a jock? Well, those are- Michael Jocks? Oh. We've been through this hammock thing before. [laughs] Have we? Hammock? [laughs] Not long ago. No, that's what the celli is.
• 20:48
It's a hammock for your nut sack. All right. That's what I tell everyone. Speaking of nut sacks, um- We're top of the hill... this nut sack, uh, [laughs] Mike brought JK- Thank you, Michael...
• 20:56
JK brought this Chilly Rabbit Cold India Pale Ale. They have many versions of rabbits. They had- Yes... they had the cast conditioned rabbit, which was barely else.
• 21:07
Mm, that was not- I've had many- Uh, it was at, it was an on tap thing only- Okay... at Hooligans for a while. Hooligans. Uh,
• 21:13
enjoy tangerine, mangoes, strawberry flavors from Kashmir and Indie, and Indie Idaho Seven Hops. Idaho Seven Hops. It's good, but it always makes me burp. It's very... I also have the hiccups since I don't burp.
• 21:28
And it's 6.8%, so you get- It's pretty reasonable... kinda Elkahoozie-ish on the thing. Oh, yeah- Under 7... but their regular Hazy is 7.2 or something. No, it's like 6.7. Oh, is it? Yeah.
• 21:39
Okay, then- It's, they're all dancing in the same- I think they always hit above the line. I think maybe they might be like Tim. [laughs] They could be lying. I've been seeing him regularly, Tim from Black Husky.
• 21:49
I saw him at, I saw him at Tompkins. Uh, the day- At the counter. Really?... the counter. The day of my, uh, colonoscopy, my reward meal. I forgot about that.
• 21:58
[laughs] We, [laughs] we dropped in and it was like boom, and I'm like... It just happened and like noticed that it was him. [laughs] Dropped in. [laughs] Well, yeah. I was still on the twilight whatever.
• 22:07
Oh, those drugs are awesome. [laughs] So do, do either of you guys know what a restomod car is? Of course. Like- No. See the 1800 restomod, the coolest one ever? I, the, it wasn't yours, was it? The Cayenne? No.
• 22:20
The Cayenne restomod, that thing is just a- Basically-... absolute work of art... basically old vehicle with modern stuff. Right. Well, oddly enough, and I have no idea why- Bikes?... both Restomod Bikes,
• 22:31
which I registered the domain name- Oh... and I already put a f- Facebook page up, Restomod Bikes, which I'm going to say is open to bicycles and motorcycles because I could see really cool restomod motorcycles.
• 22:43
Those are, those are engine cycles. Engine. [laughs] Unless you're gonna be talking about electric bikes. It's just Restomod Bikes.
• 22:50
It doesn't have to say engine or motor or any of that s- Just want clarification on the front page... suchness. Just rec- I could put engine cycles on there. I'm making a shirt. Just a record store. I'm making a shirt.
• 22:58
It's just- We have to make a shirt... bicycles and engine cycles welcome. And no- Think of it as a record store. You just know... it's gonna be acoustic- You just know... electric engine. I like that idea.
• 23:11
I think you got some legs there. You know where we could sell that? Everywhere. On restomodbikes.com. Probably. [laughs] So I don't know. There's not much there yet.
• 23:18
I just feel like somebody like Mark Petersen with all his- Mm-hmm... you know- Could put some cool-... re- revampified bicycles- Yeah... that, some of them are very old- I like it...
• 23:27
and have been modificated to the modernistic era, would be perfect for this idea of this- Hell yeah... Facebook page. Yeah. Yeah. I like this.
• 23:37
I just feel like it could be something that people could have a lot of fun with, so. Speaking of, uh- Let's see if we can drill that one into the ground too. Yeah. I really, I, I thought I saw a M- a Mark Petersen
• 23:48
on an ex- In our city? Yeah, yeah. In our fair town? A doppelganger? Total doppelganger. And then we're like, "Ah, no. Of course, that's not him." Speaking of engine cycles, uh- Was it?
• 24:00
We, we have this guy who never listens to the show. He's big. His name is Sam. He upgraded his BMW- Oh, he said he was gonna do that... to a newer BMW. And for the record
• 24:16
Sam's two-wheel vehicle is more expensive than any four-wheel vehicle I've ever purchased- Oh, yeah... in my life. For sure. Holy God, I had no idea they made motorcycles that expensive.
• 24:27
And you have to be a large human like him to even ride it. I can't even- Well, that one, yeah, you- I can't straddle it... I can't even touch- There's no way... I can't touch the ground with my toes. Nope, nope.
• 24:36
He says with his 300-pound frame on it, rolling second gear pulls the wheelie, like all day long. Oh, I'm sure. It's got a 1650 or something in there now. No, no, it's a- It's big... 13, but it, it's- It's big...
• 24:47
120 pound feet of torque. That's big. I mean, that's what I had in [laughs] my Volkswagen Diesel. It's a BMW. It had four wheels. I asked him what happens when it rains.
• 24:57
I just, if I was gonna have one of those- The top doesn't come off... and I, and I, I mean, it does have crashy stuff to keep it from getting really damaged, but- Mm-hmm...
• 25:04
you're gonna throw that thing on the ground if you're riding it proper. I hope he rides it proper. He crashed his other one, his 2017- Into his buddy... into his bu- well, it was- [laughs]... his buddy's fault, but yeah.
• 25:15
Hey, remember when we were talking about Sealy Dave before? Oh. Oh. Hey, guys. It's Sealy Dave calling from, uh, the snowy Northwoods. Just wanted to wish you a, uh- Still snowing...
• 25:26
happy 10th anniversary on the podcast. Um, sorry I couldn't come down for the party, but it's election day, and my wife is working the polls. And, uh- Good for your wife...
• 25:37
so you'll have to have a beer, uh, for me, and I'll have one for you up here. Anyway, congratulations on, uh, a lot of shows. I've listened to many of them. Um, and, uh- What a fool...
• 25:48
look forward to- Yeah, he must be bored... you guys producing a bunch more in the future. Again, happy anniversary. Not 1,000. [laughs] Thanks, Dave. It's a recording. That's Sealy Dave, folks.
• 25:58
[laughs] Celebrity after celebrity has been calling us on the phone saying, "Thank God you guys are not quitting yet." Wait, did we get, uh, did we get the celebrity? [laughs] Uh, which celebrity? Uh. I don't know.
• 26:11
We don't have any more celebrities today. Okay. There might be some in the hopper for future shows. Ah, okay. We're gonna have to sprinkle these through every- Okay... once in a while just because. They are fun. Mm-hmm.
• 26:21
You gotta have, you know, celebrities and whatnot. Uh, so, you know. Hey, there's one link in here I wanna call out if I haven't called it out yet, besides the Restomod Bikes thing.
• 26:33
There's some company, it was, this was in Bicycle Retailer, at least where I found it, but they're crowdfunding 32 and 36-inch wheeled bikes. Yeah. But for, like,
• 26:45
Shaquille O'Neal size people, not just to be some idiot- Well, that's, Coker started that. Yeah, but these are more- Al Cali... I think these are more, more, um, better, more better Dirty, dirty niners, right?
• 26:59
Is that what you're talking about? Uh, I don't know. You can't get eight no better than that. 30, 36er. 36ers, and they also make a dirty niner. Crowdfunds e-bikes th- 32 and 36 inch. Oh, that's what it is.
• 27:10
Yeah, you're right. I'm sorry. So they- Got autism... right, and they're not, I mean, the Coker's are kind of- Coker's are 36... bottom of the barrel bikes, though. These are not so much. Right.
• 27:19
They were way more into the unicycle. Yeah, no, those are high-end bikes. Yeah, these are more like- Those are steel weight bikes... real, like, real performance bikes for very, very tall and largish people.
• 27:30
So anyway, you can check that out. I'm sure they have a 36er, uh, crowdfund something. But it, Bicycle Retailer, heck, you can't, you know, you don't really, you can just find that stuff on the web now.
• 27:40
You don't even need to be in the industry anymore to figure that one out. 20, 29ers scare me. Can you imagine what a 32 or a 36 is like? Funny- I did ride, uh- Well, it's a, like, penny-... Spinner's 36.
• 27:50
It was hilarious. Where does that penny-farthing clock in? Do not- Let's go... talk about that. I think that's probably a 36. Oh, I think it's bigger than that. 39 maybe. Nope. I think it's bigger than that.
• 28:00
Let's go measure it. Yeah, we should go measure it. We're gonna go over there and have a beer anyway [laughs]. Right, we are, so we're gonna go measure it. We'll report back next week.
• 28:05
It may have been on- We have homework. We gave ourselves homework. Yay. It may have been on stage whilst, uh, El Rongo was playing at the party. [laughs] I- Measure, yes, measurement through the YouTube video.
• 28:15
[laughs] Wait a minute, we forgot the one big thing. What, Record Store Day? We could look at it one of two way- well, two big things. [laughs] Look at it one of two big ways. I'm gonna say good riddance, Pizza Man.
• 28:27
You might say adios, Pizza Man. I might say you can still drive out to Mayfair if you really want a Pizza Man. Why? Yeah. I don't.
• 28:34
I never thought that it was gonna last at that location here on the east side that, uh- That's pretty pricey, too... that's, what is it? Stubby's was there for years. Stubby's old, yep.
• 28:43
But I never thought it was gonna last there. It was the door at the original North and Oakland, the annoying door that- Fuck yeah. Always, always... you pull, pull across, and it was always noisy.
• 28:54
That was my, the only place that would be- Yeah. It had a, it had a medieval, like- Yeah... contraption that- Yeah, it was-... counterweighted the door. Yeah.
• 29:01
And so, until the friction fire, it had a very serious wine collection, too. Yeah, yeah. Well, it just had a good vibe. That wasn't their friction fire, though. It had, like, that cobblestone thing.
• 29:10
Other people are saying they torched it. Like a genuine cobblestone interior. They did not torch it. Yes, it was a cave- It was- It was a cave-like atmosphere...
• 29:16
no, it was the, the- It was cool as hell, and I had- I liked it. I-... I had a doppelganger in the area at the time that apparently was a real dick, 'cause I'm- Un- unlike yourself... [laughs] at the time.
• 29:26
I'm just saying. [laughs] This was '90s, during '90s. '90s Dick Michael. Yes. [laughs] No, there was a, yeah, drunk evil robot, but it wasn't me. I mean, it was like, "No, I would..."
• 29:39
I'm like, "No, I would've known coming here." Yeah. But yeah, just booted, banned. "You're outta here. We told you not to come here. We told you not to come here ever again."
• 29:51
And I was like, I hadn't even been here for about a year and a half or in the area. Ugh, but whatever. All right. Well- Pizza Man memories, everybody. So- Adios, Pizza Man...
• 30:03
just, just like, just like Britney Spears said- Oops... oops, we did it again. We did it again. Speaking of 4/20 and Record Store Day and whatever,
• 30:13
uh, Von Munns is spinning at Liliput early, like 7:00 AM to 9:30 in the morning. The Far Out Liliput? Yes. Hm. And the scuttlebutt about the shirts for The Green Mile
• 30:28
being, uh, Von Munnsian origins perhaps. Right, right, right, right. Oh, truth, truth. I may, I may, I may have to go to Liliput to be talked into participating. All right. Let's, this is something to do. I don't know.
• 30:41
This would be- That's Saturday morning, too? This would be tomorrow. No, the- This Saturday? No, this Saturday, day after tomorrow. We're not Friday anymore. Oh, that's right. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, this Saturday. Okay.
• 30:51
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, see you. So in the morning, yeah, you, in the morning you go down to Liliput to get talked into doing it by Von Munns. Right on. Um, and if it works out. And it's like, yeah- And get a shirt.
• 31:02
It's, yeah- One of 20... I think it rolls out at 3:00? Five. Three. Three. Three it is. Rolls out at 3:00. Rolls out at 3:00. Starts at 1:00. If memory serves.
• 31:10
Which is kind of an in- gonna be an interesting idea, 'cause it starts at 1:00 at Gathering Place. There's gonna be some people drinking for two hours and then trying to run. You mean 28 hours?
• 31:22
They're gonna be drinking the night before. Oh, I suppose so. Yeah. Come on. Okay. Come on. Ba, da, da, da. All right. I gotta make a, I gotta make a tech support call, so, uh, we'll do this again next week [laughs].
• 31:32
Da, na, na. Thank you very much for listening to the 250th episode of our fine- The semi-quincentennial. [laughs] I didn't even have to look. 250. That's, that's awesome. I didn't even have to look. It's baked in.
• 31:44
It's baked in. It's there. It's there. All right. There he is. Bye.
• 31:48
