- 0:00Speaker 1: So I want to talk about full circle moments for
- 0:01Speaker 1: a second. Right, so we hear you're noted masters obviously,
- 0:04Speaker 1: Steve Stout, Let's talk about the power branding. I guess
- 0:07Speaker 1: you can all take this. But the importance of branding
- 0:10Speaker 1: and partnering with brands. That make sense, So Steve Stout,
- 0:14Speaker 1: the Rebok commercial, everybody knows that, the AI commercial. But
- 0:17Speaker 1: even to present day, like as I'm watching the NFL,
- 0:19Speaker 1: I'm hearing your voice over the commercials. Somebody yo your
- 0:23Speaker 1: kisses everywhere. Man, So talk about aligning with brands and
- 0:26Speaker 1: the power of power behind that.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Branding is very important. Aligning yourself with brands is even
- 0:33Speaker 2: more important. But with today's society social media, as you see,
- 0:39Speaker 2: when tragic things happen before somebody would help an elderly person,
- 0:45Speaker 2: they pull out their phone. So everybody's a brand. And
- 0:50Speaker 2: when you you know, when you're an artist or athlete,
- 0:53Speaker 2: a businessman, businesswoman, you gotta think that you're a brand
- 0:59Speaker 2: and do much as you can to support that brand,
- 1:02Speaker 2: give a positive outlook on the brand, and just keep
- 1:06Speaker 2: you know, productivity as much as you can because that's
- 1:10Speaker 2: going to help your financial situation in the long run.
- 1:14Speaker 2: With all e's on you in today's society.
- 1:17Speaker 3: So ron I want to ask you about ownership. You
- 1:20Speaker 3: broke down how you made a bunch of money by
- 1:23Speaker 3: selling like a fourteen thousand albums before on the show,
- 1:26Speaker 3: but talk about like the power of ownership and leveraging
- 1:32Speaker 3: that to actually make money.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Yeah. I really believe that that when you have the
- 1:40Speaker 4: right information, you have the right access to information, and
- 1:44Speaker 4: the right infrastructure, you really can As long as you're
- 1:47Speaker 4: rooted in service, you can really make however much you
- 1:50Speaker 4: want to make. So a lot of times I would
- 1:53Speaker 4: go to my record company and I say, hey, look,
- 1:54Speaker 4: you know my first album I sold you know, one
- 1:58Speaker 4: hundred and sixty thousand albums. I'm not platinum status, I
- 2:01Speaker 4: didn't have no records on the chart. Then my second album,
- 2:04Speaker 4: which was Grammy nominated, I only sold sixty thousand, and
- 2:07Speaker 4: so I went to him. I said, hey, look, we're
- 2:09Speaker 4: in a digital age. If I saw one hundred and
- 2:11Speaker 4: eighty thousand, how come we don't know all those people?
- 2:14Speaker 4: Can I just press the email and we could email
- 2:16Speaker 4: everybody who bought the last one. They should definitely want
- 2:18Speaker 4: to know about the first one. And it sounds funny now,
- 2:21Speaker 4: right because we should actually know. But I will present
- 2:26Speaker 4: this challenge to y'all that if you're building on social media,
- 2:29Speaker 4: you're really just renting your audience. And so for me
- 2:32Speaker 4: in twenty thirteen, I said, look, if I want to
- 2:34Speaker 4: actually have this information, I got to give to receive.
- 2:37Speaker 4: So I gave my number out on Twitter. I say,
- 2:40Speaker 4: he look to send me a text if you want
- 2:42Speaker 4: the record. And by that time I'd already bought my
- 2:44Speaker 4: contract out. So every single dollar that came in and
- 2:49Speaker 4: went straight to the bank account instantly. I see that's
- 2:51Speaker 4: what you're doing.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Now, Ernest, what's up? You ever walk into a small
- 2:55Speaker 1: business and everything just works like the checkout is fast,
- 2:59Speaker 1: or seats of digital tipping is a breeze and you're

- 3:55Speaker 1: Square handle the back end so you can keep pushing
- 3:57Speaker 1: your vision forward. This episode is brought to you by
- 4:03Speaker 1: P and C Bank. A lot of people think podcasts
- 4:06Speaker 1: about work are boring, and sure they definitely can be,
- 4:10Speaker 1: but understanding a professionals routine shows us how they achieve
- 4:13Speaker 1: their success little by little, day after day. It's like
- 4:17Speaker 1: banking with P and C Bank. It might seem boring
- 4:20Speaker 1: to save, plan and make calculated decisions with your bank,
- 4:23Speaker 1: but keeping your money boring is what helps you live
- 4:26Speaker 1: a more happily fulfilled life. P and C Bank Brilliantly
- 4:30Speaker 1: Boring since eighteen sixty five. Brilliantly Boring since eighteen sixty
- 4:35Speaker 1: five is a service mark of the PNC Financial Service Group, Inc.
- 4:38Speaker 1: P and C Bank National Association Member FDIIC.
- 4:44Speaker 4: And so the beauty of that and this, I think
- 4:47Speaker 4: what you're talking about is first having that relationship, that
- 4:51Speaker 4: one on one relationship with the fans and letting them
- 4:54Speaker 4: know that you're here to actually be of service to them.
- 4:57Speaker 4: However they are looking to actually support you. So at
- 5:02Speaker 4: the very beginning, the opening conversation was just the music. Hey,
- 5:06Speaker 4: let me just download the music. But then people would
- 5:08Speaker 4: actually and when we talk about brand partnerships, people would
- 5:11Speaker 4: actually text in Yo, you didn't know, but I run
- 5:14Speaker 4: the Lamborghini club in so and so. So whenever you
- 5:17Speaker 4: do your next video, man, just call me. I'm gonna
- 5:19Speaker 4: bring seventeen of those things out. Sounds great to me,
- 5:23Speaker 4: you know what I mean? Yep, I was over there
- 5:27Speaker 4: next people say, you know what, Ryan, listen, we love
- 5:30Speaker 4: the concerts and everything. And I've been doing this for
- 5:33Speaker 4: a long time, actually doing my tickets direct, and sometimes
- 5:36Speaker 4: it's a struggle because the venues actually they have deals
- 5:40Speaker 4: with the larger promoters, etc. So I had to go
- 5:43Speaker 4: out and find a promoter that was willing to take
- 5:46Speaker 4: that chance with me. And when you look at it,
- 5:48Speaker 4: even in boxing, etc. Once the talent becomes the promoter,
- 5:52Speaker 4: the whole financial breakdown starts to change and they start
- 5:57Speaker 4: to understand their business better. And when they start to
- 5:59Speaker 4: understand their busines, the ingenuity of a creative becomes present
- 6:06Speaker 4: in the execution of those business ideas. And as you
- 6:11Speaker 4: sit here in this audience as creatives, make sure that
- 6:15Speaker 4: you pay attention to the business because as you know
- 6:18Speaker 4: your business better and better and better, your ingenuity as
- 6:21Speaker 4: a creator, your creativity, is what is going to make
- 6:25Speaker 4: the difference. We're watching it live in real time, watching
- 6:28Speaker 4: the history that's being made the ingenuity and creativity. But
- 6:31Speaker 4: also it's also about understanding that it's not just about you.
- 6:35Speaker 4: It's about being able to connect with those who also
- 6:40Speaker 4: relate to the impact that you want to have. And
- 6:44Speaker 4: so I watched my young brother right here. He found
- 6:48Speaker 4: a platform. I think it's called even Dabiz right. He
- 6:51Speaker 4: found that platform a young brother, another young young guy man,
- 6:56Speaker 4: super creative and said, look, your concept, but what you
- 7:00Speaker 4: want to do, we can help you bring it to life.
- 7:02Speaker 4: What does that do? That allows for you to remain
- 7:05Speaker 4: the creative and you can choose the folks on your
- 7:08Speaker 4: team that can elevate and put the infrastructure around the
- 7:12Speaker 4: impact that you want to have. Once again, it comes
- 7:15Speaker 4: down to having those phone numbers, making those phone numbers
- 7:18Speaker 4: work for you, making those phone calls work for you.
- 7:20Speaker 4: And so when we think about the economics of it,
- 7:25Speaker 4: once you can start to realize what products or services
- 7:29Speaker 4: people would actually pay a premium for, you can interact
- 7:33Speaker 4: and engage with those supporters at that level.
