Transcript
- 1:04Mark Spence: I read an interesting quote from a game that is no longer obviously part of the Olympic Games.
- 1:09Mark Spence: But did you know that there was an Olympic game where you'd run a race and the winner was not the one who was given the medal.
- 1:16Mark Spence: It was the one who finished with his torch still lit, wow.
- 1:21Mark Spence: So you had to run your race with a torch, and the one who had his torch still lit was the winner, so you got to run slow.
- 1:29Ray Comfort: What's the spiritual?
- 1:30Mark Spence: analogy.
- 1:30Mark Spence: Here's how Ray works.
- 1:31Mark Spence: Ray, what is the spiritual?
- 1:32Ray Comfort: analogy.
- 1:33Ray Comfort: You keep your light shining.
- 1:34Ray Comfort: Don't let no man take your crown.
- 1:37Ray Comfort: Hold fast to that which you've got.
- 1:38Ray Comfort: Let their light continue to shine, so you don't want to cross the finish line without the light of the gospel sport.
- 2:00Mark Spence: It's not the thing.
- 2:01Mark Spence: We ended up going rock.
- 2:02Emeal Zwayne: What is it about that song that just makes me want to run the Chariots of Fire?
- 2:06Emeal Zwayne: It makes you want to run in slow motion.
- 2:09Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, chariots of fire.
- 2:10Emeal Zwayne: That's one of those songs that just like never gets dated or old or I guess I have lyrics, or is it just the?
- 2:17Ray Comfort: no, I think it's just something about bananas.
- 2:19Ray Comfort: I just what do you say something about bananas?
- 2:23Ray Comfort: The way you sung it?
- 2:28Emeal Zwayne: I just envisioned Eric Little, you know, running on that movie, chariots of Fire.
- 2:34Emeal Zwayne: But, guys, you know, look, olympics come and go and I have no idea when our friends are listening to this Whoever's listening to this could be different times.
- 2:42Emeal Zwayne: But yeah, the Olympics.
- 2:46Emeal Zwayne: Ray, if you could do the Olympics, which sport would you do?
- 2:50Emeal Zwayne: Oh, running 400 meters.
- 2:52Emeal Zwayne: Surfing 400 meters no not surfing In Tahiti.
- 2:55Ray Comfort: You're crazy, not the.
- 2:57Ray Comfort: Have you seen that wave?
- 2:58Emeal Zwayne: It's insane, it's a killer.
- 3:00Oscar Navarro: It's insane.
- 3:00Emeal Zwayne: It's weird to me that they're actually Going to Tahiti To do stuff when the Olympics are in Paris.
- 3:05Ray Comfort: When you see that wave, it's just when the Olympics are in Paris.
- 3:07Ray Comfort: When you see that, wave.
- 3:08Oscar Navarro: It's part of the curse.
- 3:08Oscar Navarro: And do you know?
- 3:09Oscar Navarro: It's only part of the curse.
- 3:10Oscar Navarro: What's?
- 3:11Emeal Zwayne: wrong with the wave Ray?
- 3:12Ray Comfort: It's about four foot deep into coral and it's about 50 feet high and it comes down and kills you.
- 3:16Ray Comfort: Super powerful.
- 3:17Emeal Zwayne: Are you serious?
- 3:18Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, it's scary.
- 3:19Emeal Zwayne: Wait, did we go there when we were in Tahiti to that area?
- 3:22Oscar Navarro: No, we were near it, but we go to that specific beach yeah.
- 3:25Mark Spence: Do you know?
- 3:26Mark Spence: Ray thought the high jump was the limbo.
- 3:28Mark Spence: I could go low, I just need to walk normal.
- 3:32Ray Comfort: I actually hated the high jump.
- 3:33Ray Comfort: I was good at long jump, but not high jump, not the short jump, right, no, no they call it the short hop.
- 3:39Ray Comfort: I was good with the hurdle and I'd just go under them.
- 3:44Emeal Zwayne: No, I love that.
- 3:45Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, long jump is, yeah, one of my favorites.
- 3:52Ray Comfort: I don't know what it is like, just that.
- 3:54Ray Comfort: But they do this weird kind of that's to get the bounce.
- 3:55Mark Spence: Yeah, but it's crazy and but to me, what?
- 3:56Emeal Zwayne: what blows my mind is how close they get to the line, because you think about it right, they're fighting for like millimeters do they?
- 4:03Ray Comfort: do they inspect their shoes to make sure there's no springs in them?
- 4:06Emeal Zwayne: I'm sure they do.
- 4:07Emeal Zwayne: Can you imagine boing, boing, boing, uh, but no, I mean.
- 4:11Emeal Zwayne: But the thing is, they get so close to the line but if you cross it, you're, that's it, it's qualified.
- 4:16Emeal Zwayne: So it's like they, you know they practice that again and again.
- 4:18Emeal Zwayne: They execute you, you're not even disqualified.
- 4:21Emeal Zwayne: You guys have a favorite.
- 4:24Emeal Zwayne: Uh.
- 4:24Emeal Zwayne: So, ray running mark, if you could compete in anything in the o, what would it be?
- 4:28Emeal Zwayne: The high hurdles, you serious, yeah, really.
- 4:31Emeal Zwayne: They have high versus low hurdles, yeah, oh.
- 4:35Mark Spence: Yeah, so the high hurdles are it's just a straight 110 meters, and then the intermediate hurdles are 440 meters all the way around.
- 4:44Emeal Zwayne: And they're lower, lower intermediate and high.
- 4:48Ray Comfort: So all the runners for those things, tall people or not, because you can't just be tall.
- 4:51Emeal Zwayne: You've got to be fast.
- 4:51Emeal Zwayne: Well, you have to be for the high ones, I would imagine.
- 4:53Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:55Ray Comfort: Do you like the pole vault?
- 4:55Ray Comfort: I'd stick it through my stomach, oh God.
- 4:58Oscar Navarro: You would go flying in the other direction.
- 5:00Oscar Navarro: I would love to see Ray You'd end up on the pole on top, not able to get down.
- 5:11Emeal Zwayne: That would be crazy.
- 5:12Emeal Zwayne: What would you?
- 5:12Mark Spence: compete in Women's gymnastics.
- 5:16Emeal Zwayne: Mark, how did you know Get?
- 5:17Ray Comfort: away with it fluttering the eyelids.
- 5:19Emeal Zwayne: I love the discus.
- 5:21Emeal Zwayne: I just love how they spin.
- 5:24Emeal Zwayne: They do the spin, probably something like that.
- 5:27Emeal Zwayne: Or the spear, the javelin.
- 5:30Ray Comfort: Oh, this is so Arab yeah.
- 5:33Oscar Navarro: All things that kill people.
- 5:35Oscar Navarro: Throwing and killing.
- 5:37Oscar Navarro: Throwing rocks, the one where they explode things yeah.
- 5:41Emeal Zwayne: Are you guys gaslighting me?
- 5:42Emeal Zwayne: We were just talking about that.
- 5:44Emeal Zwayne: Seriously, I hear that word all the time.
- 5:46Emeal Zwayne: I'm hearing it this morning on the way in.
- 5:52Ray Comfort: I was listening to something.
- 5:53Ray Comfort: What you're talking about the origins of it yeah, it was.
- 5:54Ray Comfort: It's a play and it became a movie and it was about a guy who tried to drive his wife insane by saying things to her that didn't make sense what he would do called gaslighting yeah oh, it's from the 1930s, 40s, I think well, what?
- 6:03Oscar Navarro: what he would do is he would.
- 6:04Oscar Navarro: There was a back back then.
- 6:05Oscar Navarro: The way they lit a room up is with gas-lit lanterns, and so he would slowly turn down the lighting on the lantern and she'd say, hey, it's getting darker in here, and he'd say, no, it's not.
- 6:15Oscar Navarro: That's where gas lighting came from.
- 6:17Ray Comfort: That sounds dark man, it was a dark movie.
- 6:19Emeal Zwayne: But gas lighting it's kind of like turning it on someone, it's like speaking a narrative that's not true, but slowly changing aspects that make them feel like they're going crazy.
- 6:34Oscar Navarro: Democrating.
- 6:35Emeal Zwayne: Democrating.
- 6:37Emeal Zwayne: Speaking of that, guys, is it just me?
- 6:41Emeal Zwayne: It's just me, it's always just you.
- 6:44Emeal Zwayne: Seriously, is there like an agenda for politicians to start cussing now?
- 6:49Ray Comfort: Oh, yes, I'm hearing the S-H word all the time.
- 6:54Ray Comfort: Now which word?
- 6:55Ray Comfort: I've got a video coming out on that subject.
- 6:57Ray Comfort: Are you serious?
- 6:58Ray Comfort: Yes, donald Trump keeps reminding the world about hell.
- 7:03Ray Comfort: That is his favorite word and it's getting right throughout the whole.
- 7:07Ray Comfort: All the commentators are using this.
- 7:09Ray Comfort: Yeah, guys that normally were conservative, wouldn't use it.
- 7:11Emeal Zwayne: Well, no, no, but now that the sh word I just heard a governor of a state in a big political suite.
- 7:17Emeal Zwayne: He just dropped the s there's no shame it's wow, it's changing.
- 7:21Ray Comfort: I blame you guys it's the uh frog in the microwave no more, no more boiling pot right it's the oreo and the glass of milk let's keep going.
- 7:33Emeal Zwayne: It's the can't think of it.
- 7:36Ray Comfort: It's the dog on the hamburger.
- 7:37Emeal Zwayne: It's the meatball in the spaghetti oh boy, all right friends, no cussing on this program time for a cool, classy comment.
- 7:47Emeal Zwayne: By the way, before that, a shout out to Dan and Vicky Sebring.
- 7:54Emeal Zwayne: These guys are super podcast mega fans.
- 7:58Emeal Zwayne: We appreciate you guys.
- 8:00Emeal Zwayne: So thanks for listening and supporting the ministry in the way you do.
- 8:03Ray Comfort: Ray.
- 8:03Emeal Zwayne: Comfey, I got kicked out of Golden Corral, you did not.
- 8:06Emeal Zwayne: I did too Wait for ordering 10,000 steaks.
- 8:09Emeal Zwayne: I bet no, don't be silly.
- 8:10Ray Comfort: No, I went on the carnivore diet for five weeks and I lost my little pot belly, which is great, and I thought I actually mix vegetables with the steaks now so I've tempered out a little bit.
- 8:24Ray Comfort: But I figured that Golden Corral have sirloin steaks on special.
- 8:28Ray Comfort: You can go in there and you can order them with your meal.
- 8:30Ray Comfort: So I went and ordered 10.
- 8:31Ray Comfort: And they're only $2.50 each.
- 8:33Ray Comfort: Well, that was $30 for 10 steaks.
- 8:35Ray Comfort: That's what you pay in a restaurant for one sirloin steak.
- 8:39Ray Comfort: So next week I went back and ordered 20.
- 8:40Ray Comfort: Just got up to the chef who's cooking them and I said I have 20.
- 8:43Ray Comfort: He goes what?
- 8:44Ray Comfort: And then I told Scotty about him.
- 8:52Ray Comfort: Scotty went into the local golden crow, he ordered 10.
- 8:53Ray Comfort: And then I went back on last Sunday and said to the chef, who was just standing there with his eyes kind of wide as I went up to him, I'll take 50.
- 8:58Ray Comfort: I said 30.
- 8:58Ray Comfort: And next thing the manager.
- 9:00Ray Comfort: The manager was right on me, I must be the steak guy Were you putting him in your pocket.
- 9:06Ray Comfort: No, they put him in a box and you go and weigh it.
- 9:09Ray Comfort: It's to go, but they're not used to people Because I think they use the stakes as a draw card for people.
- 9:15Ray Comfort: Come in and they let you buy them.
- 9:17Ray Comfort: What's the problem?
- 9:18Ray Comfort: Yeah, well they didn't let me buy 30.
- 9:20Ray Comfort: They said, no, you can't do this anymore.
- 9:23Emeal Zwayne: Oh, great yeah.
- 9:24Emeal Zwayne: I was saddened you got to do them in lots of like three.
- 9:26Emeal Zwayne: You flew too closer to the sun, yeah, no.
- 9:27Ray Comfort: I'm going in with a wig and A big wig, a real big wig, and glasses.
- 9:32Emeal Zwayne: So wait, they didn't let you get any.
- 9:34Ray Comfort: No, that was all over.
- 9:35Ray Comfort: You're kidding yeah.
- 9:37Emeal Zwayne: Were they treating you like you were doing something nefarious?
- 9:38Emeal Zwayne: No, the lady was very very how he hooked us right With that tabloid headline.
- 9:51Emeal Zwayne: They kicked me out of the Golden Corral?
- 9:54Oscar Navarro: No, they didn't.
- 9:54Oscar Navarro: He's a walking YouTube video.
- 9:56Oscar Navarro: What happened next?
- 9:58Oscar Navarro: Why, oh man?
- 10:01Emeal Zwayne: It's become a part of your DNA.
- 10:02Ray Comfort: Sounds like a good video.
- 10:04Ray Comfort: They kicked me out of Golden Corral.
- 10:07Ray Comfort: No here it comes.
- 10:08Ray Comfort: This is why.
- 10:10Emeal Zwayne: All right friends After the shout out time for that cool, classy comment.
- 10:14Emeal Zwayne: This is from Debbie, my favorite podcast.
- 10:17Emeal Zwayne: I started listening when you were already at about 130 episodes, but I'm almost caught up.
- 10:23Emeal Zwayne: I've loved every episode and listened to some twice.
- 10:26Emeal Zwayne: I love the humor and the genuine brotherly love y'all have for each other.
- 10:30Emeal Zwayne: I love that I can laugh along with you but then get into the meat of matters and be challenged, rebuked, encouraged and edified.
- 10:38Emeal Zwayne: The humility, gentleness, biblical knowledge and devotion to truth even when it's hard truths of all four hosts inspires me to seek after the things of God with more fervor and, more importantly, most importantly, to share those things with a lost and dying world.
- 10:52Emeal Zwayne: Thank you for your faithful obedience to the things of God.
- 10:55Emeal Zwayne: You'll never know the full extent of how this podcast has helped me, but the Lord knows and I pray he'll continue to bless the ministry.
- 11:02Emeal Zwayne: God bless you all.
- 11:03Emeal Zwayne: From Scotland, debbie, from Scotland.
- 11:06Emeal Zwayne: Ah, kill haggis.
- 11:08Emeal Zwayne: What is haggis, ray?
- 11:10Emeal Zwayne: Every time Scotland's mentioned, you're on to haggis.
- 11:12Ray Comfort: It's some sort of food.
- 11:14Ray Comfort: I know what tripe is.
- 11:16Ray Comfort: I think it might be sheep's stomach.
- 11:18Oscar Navarro: Tripe.
- 11:19Ray Comfort: Yeah.
- 11:19Oscar Navarro: Tripas.
- 11:20Oscar Navarro: Yeah, that is, that's stomach, oh yeah.
- 11:24Emeal Zwayne: That's tripe is sheep's stomach.
- 11:25Emeal Zwayne: Well, debbie, send Ray some haggis please.
- 11:27Ray Comfort: He would appreciate that it doesn't sound good, does it?
- 11:30Mark Spence: I have another cool, classy comment that Ray gave me earlier today.
- 11:33Mark Spence: Ooh, and it says Someone sent a card.
- 11:36Mark Spence: Yeah, Ray, Living Waters crew, thank you for all that you do.
- 11:39Mark Spence: Lately I've been praying much about where to put resources that God gives me.
- 11:42Mark Spence: That would do the most good toward the spread of the gospel.
- 11:50Ray Comfort: So often the podcast is impactful to me, except for easy singing I give that to you, so you can read it.
- 11:55Emeal Zwayne: That's exactly what it says?
- 11:56Emeal Zwayne: Does it really Mark it?
- 11:57Mark Spence: really is.
- 11:58Mark Spence: Read the highlighted part.
- 11:58Mark Spence: I don't believe you.
- 11:59Oscar Navarro: Just the highlighted part.
- 12:00Emeal Zwayne: I don't believe you.
- 12:01Emeal Zwayne: The highlighted part.
- 12:02Emeal Zwayne: I don't see you.
- 12:03Emeal Zwayne: Oh except singing.
- 12:04Emeal Zwayne: It doesn't say easy singing except singing.
- 12:10Emeal Zwayne: Turn it around In the front oh except easy singing.
- 12:12Emeal Zwayne: She said it twice oh, twice.
- 12:14Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, thank you, alan.
- 12:15Emeal Zwayne: All right, friends.
- 12:18Ray Comfort: Easy.
- 12:19Ray Comfort: I really love your singing.
- 12:20Ray Comfort: It's so great when you stop.
- 12:21Ray Comfort: Merci, merci beaucoup.
- 12:23Emeal Zwayne: All right, friends, and now a radically revolutionary resource the Blue Book on Evangelism.
- 12:31Emeal Zwayne: Listen to this wonderful description someone from our ministry wrote.
- 12:34Emeal Zwayne: In the Blue Book on Evangelism, you will find more than 140 questions and answers about the most important of topics.
- 12:41Emeal Zwayne: This handy premiere presents the basics of witnessing the who, what, when, where, why and how.
- 12:49Emeal Zwayne: Ray, I think you actually put this together years ago for one of our.
- 12:52Emeal Zwayne: Was it for the academies?
- 12:54Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, I think so.
- 12:54Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, great one.
- 12:56Emeal Zwayne: It got revived.
- 12:56Emeal Zwayne: It's become a yeah.
- 12:58Ray Comfort: The Lazarus come forth.
- 12:59Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, it's alive.
- 13:00Emeal Zwayne: Now it doesn't stink anymore.
- 13:01Emeal Zwayne: All right friends, make sure to check that out, along with the Living Waters mug, from which Ray just took a chug, and evidence study Bible.
- 13:09Emeal Zwayne: This Bible will bring revival.
- 13:16Emeal Zwayne: All at Living Waters.
- 13:17Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, love that singing.
- 13:18Emeal Zwayne: All right friends, today we are talking about how God was blasphemed at the Paris Olympics.
- 13:29Emeal Zwayne: We started off by talking about the Olympics.
- 13:30Emeal Zwayne: We are going to continue that and believe it or not.
- 13:32Emeal Zwayne: The amazing thing is that while that happened, the three of us were in Paris.
- 13:39Emeal Zwayne: Sure, were you in Paris, ray.
- 13:41Emeal Zwayne: In spirit.
- 13:42Emeal Zwayne: In spirit, not in truth.
- 13:44Emeal Zwayne: I'm sick of traveling.
- 13:45Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, ray doesn't travel anymore, but he sent us to paris and, uh boy, was that an unexpected turn of events, guys, I've been watching the olympics since I was a wee little guy.
- 13:57Emeal Zwayne: Yes, ray, what do you mean?
- 14:00Emeal Zwayne: yes, you were doing something like you're about to say something no, no, I just got a text from someone important.
- 14:05Ray Comfort: See, I knew something was going on your nostrils were flaring if you looked your phone, you would see it too and go whoa, oh would I.
- 14:11Oscar Navarro: Oh Sorry, listener, let's just pause for a personal experience Never mind.
- 14:16Emeal Zwayne: Personal experience.
- 14:17Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, so I've been watching the Olympics since I was a wee little guy, when I no longer had one channel, when we were in Lebanon.
- 14:24Emeal Zwayne: But we came here and had the Olympics.
- 14:33Emeal Zwayne: I have I could not even fathom what we saw in that opening ceremony.
- 14:35Emeal Zwayne: I mean, and I think the thing that blows my mind is how so unmoved so many people seem to be.
- 14:44Mark Spence: Yeah, that's exactly right.
- 14:45Mark Spence: On my flight home, the flight attendant and I we engaged in a conversation and what she brought up was wasn't the opening ceremony?
- 14:53Mark Spence: Absolutely amazing.
- 14:54Mark Spence: She said that yeah, I couldn't believe it.
- 14:56Mark Spence: You're all funny.
- 14:57Mark Spence: You say that that was like her draw.
- 14:58Mark Spence: And then she was asking my son if I was in a solid relationship with my wife.
- 15:03Mark Spence: Huh, yeah, she was flirting with me.
- 15:06Ray Comfort: Did she have a?
- 15:06Mark Spence: bank.
- 15:07Emeal Zwayne: At that point it made me.
- 15:08Ray Comfort: Did she have a cane At that point?
- 15:09Emeal Zwayne: it made sense.
- 15:09Emeal Zwayne: Did she have a?
- 15:10Ray Comfort: cane.
- 15:10Ray Comfort: She was blind, Blind and deaf.
- 15:12Ray Comfort: I didn't know they let blind flight attendants Blind, deaf and desperate.
- 15:15Mark Spence: What did the opening ceremonies where they're mocking the Last Supper?
- 15:19Mark Spence: What did that have to do with the Olympics?
- 15:20Mark Spence: I'm so confused.
- 15:21Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, I think you and a lot of other sensible and reasonable people are asking the same thing, so let's kind of build up to that, guys.
- 15:32Emeal Zwayne: I think it's good to give some context of what was going on, why we were in Paris and talk about some of the good stuff that happened too.
- 15:40Emeal Zwayne: So, ray, where did this all come from?
- 15:42Emeal Zwayne: Go to Paris, guys.
- 15:43Emeal Zwayne: It came from London.
- 15:45Ray Comfort: Yeah, talk about London.
- 15:45Ray Comfort: You and I were watching the guys in London and saying how wonderful it was and we just got to do this again.
- 15:50Ray Comfort: And then someone mumbled something about the Olympics coming up in Paris and there it was.
- 15:54Ray Comfort: What a wonderful opportunity.
- 15:55Ray Comfort: Yeah, you go into all the world, preach the gospel to every creature, and it's great when the whole world goes to one city.
- 16:00Ray Comfort: It means you don't have to go into the whole world, they come to you.
- 16:03Ray Comfort: We did.
- 16:04Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, that's one of the things we were talking about is the uniqueness of that opportunity.
- 16:09Emeal Zwayne: You know, we're called to go into all the world and the whole world was brought to one place and we did it.
- 16:16Emeal Zwayne: So London was like you said, Ray, we were watching the guys.
- 16:19Emeal Zwayne: You and I were in the studio here, Wasn't?
- 16:21Emeal Zwayne: It like three in the morning or something.
- 16:22Ray Comfort: Yeah, you'd gone to sleep at about 11.
- 16:24Ray Comfort: Yeah.
- 16:25Emeal Zwayne: I was losing it, but it was cool because we did this kind of live thing, it was great.
- 16:29Oscar Navarro: Well it wasn't just us that went to Paris.
- 16:31Oscar Navarro: We put a call out there and, like this, it's not three of us going with the incredible team that we brought, but it seems to be so many people from all over the world answer that call join us.
- 16:49Oscar Navarro: Some of them go to the conference.
- 16:51Oscar Navarro: We host a one-day conference and the rest of them go and they hand out the tracks.
- 16:54Ray Comfort: I think we had over 2 million tracks printed just for Paris, for Paris.
- 16:57Ray Comfort: But then there was the Euro paris also that was printed, and the australian olympics thing, because 300 sorry, 3 000 million apparently watched the olympics.
- 17:07Ray Comfort: Maybe not now, after what happened yeah but that's uh 3 000 million yeah yeah, and and what a joy it was to to be there.
- 17:17Emeal Zwayne: You know, like you said, oscar, we did a conference and we had a great group of people that showed up and, again, once more blown away by the feedback we've gotten.
- 17:29Emeal Zwayne: I mean, there was a couple there that basically said our entire lives have been transformed through Living Waters.
- 17:34Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, their marriage yeah, yeah, and to hear that sort of feedback from people.
- 17:40Emeal Zwayne: But then, you know, it's one thing when someone says my life has been changed.
- 17:45Emeal Zwayne: It's another thing to say, okay, my life has been changed, I've been saved, I'm now going out and preaching the gospel, you know, and we touch on a lot of different topics in the podcast, but I have to keep reminding our friends who listen our heartbeat as a ministry is to get you engaged in the Great Commission.
- 18:01Emeal Zwayne: And again, I've been reading some of the comments we've been getting lately and I've been seeing more and more of that of people saying I've been activated, I have a zeal now to reach the lost.
- 18:11Oscar Navarro: Yeah, let me just add it's so amazing to me when we do London and we had standing room only 300 plus people there for that one day conference when we do things like Paris, even when we do things like the Ambassadors Academy, to me the thing that stands out more than anything else is not the preaching or the teaching, it's the fellowship, and I often say, going to one of those things that we host feels like a pilgrimage, Feels like people travel to have this experience, to meet other like-minded Christians, and the edification that comes from being in a room full of a few hundred people that are like-minded as it pertains to proclaiming the gospel.
- 18:52Oscar Navarro: It's so encouraging.
- 18:54Oscar Navarro: It reminds you you're not alone, that God is at work all throughout the world, and it encourages you to press on Amen yeah.
- 19:02Mark Spence: Mark, it shoots just a vial of adrenaline inside your veins.
- 19:07Mark Spence: It wasn't just happening at the Olympics.
- 19:11Mark Spence: As they were leaving, I received this Instagram message from Lindsay Whitfield.
- 19:15Mark Spence: She said, brother, I prayed for open doors and these lovely ladies, referring to these ticket agents at her gate at the airport, agreed to offer all of these Living Water Olympics souvenir gospel tracks.
- 19:26Mark Spence: That's the millions, the millions to our entire flight.
- 19:30Mark Spence: Praise his name.
- 19:31Mark Spence: I also got to share the gospel with them and she included a picture of being able to put the gospel tracks on the table where you communicate between you and the ticket agent.
- 19:40Mark Spence: She says, yeah, lay them all out there and be able to get them.
- 19:43Ray Comfort: Amazing.
- 19:44Ray Comfort: That is so cool.
- 19:44Ray Comfort: I'm glad you mentioned that picture because I was blown away when I saw it.
- 19:48Emeal Zwayne: Just so great well it brought back to my mind.
- 19:51Emeal Zwayne: You know the experience I had at the airport that I've shared before with the police officer that had our tracks on the actual kiosk counter.
- 20:00Emeal Zwayne: You know for their stuff.
- 20:01Ray Comfort: So we're putting that picture in our update and I hope people who are listening get the update, because that keeps you updated as to what we're doing.
- 20:07Ray Comfort: Yeah, how do they get that update?
- 20:08Emeal Zwayne: Living Waters newsletter.
- 20:09Emeal Zwayne: Just go to our website livingwaterscom and sign up for it.
- 20:13Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, you'll be kept up on these different things.
- 20:15Emeal Zwayne: I mean, we've had people before say, oh, I didn't know you guys did this or were doing this.
- 20:19Emeal Zwayne: The newsletter is a great way.
- 20:21Emeal Zwayne: Where's the next Olympics?
- 20:22Emeal Zwayne: Los Angeles, los Angeles.
- 20:25Emeal Zwayne: I might go to that one.
- 20:26Emeal Zwayne: I hope so.
- 20:28Emeal Zwayne: Ray Comfort, that's going to be really cool to have it in town here.
- 20:32Oscar Navarro: Since 1984.
- 20:33Oscar Navarro: I was going to say it was 84.
- 20:34Oscar Navarro: When I was born, yeah.
- 20:36Oscar Navarro: I'm an Olympic baby.
- 20:37Oscar Navarro: I.
- 20:38Ray Comfort: Yeah, I'm an Olympic baby I remember watching that in a pastor's home I was speaking, yeah, and you were being born at that moment.
- 20:43Ray Comfort: That's wonderful.
- 20:45Emeal Zwayne: In that exact moment.
- 20:46Emeal Zwayne: Right Was that the Mary Lou Retton Olympics?
- 20:50Emeal Zwayne: I think so.
- 20:50Oscar Navarro: It was the Jenner Olympics.
- 20:52Oscar Navarro: What Jenner?
- 20:53Oscar Navarro: What's his name?
- 20:54Oscar Navarro: Bruce Jenner.
- 20:54Oscar Navarro: It was the.
- 20:56Ray Comfort: Jenner Olympics and it was where that guy came down with that pack where you sort of float around the sky.
- 21:01Oscar Navarro: Oh, that's right.
- 21:02Oscar Navarro: Yeah, they had a back then.
- 21:03Oscar Navarro: Yes, at the Rose Bowl.
- 21:05Ray Comfort: At the Rose Bowl he came.
- 21:06Ray Comfort: Yes, you're right.
- 21:07Ray Comfort: Oh, this is the future.
- 21:08Ray Comfort: No, it's not.
- 21:08Ray Comfort: It hasn't happened.
- 21:10Ray Comfort: That's crazy yeah.
- 21:21Emeal Zwayne: But you know, one of the things in Paris that really, really blessed me was at the conference.
- 21:23Emeal Zwayne: There were two families that were there.
- 21:23Emeal Zwayne: They came together and they said they were in London together as well.
- 21:26Emeal Zwayne: They got connected through Living Waters and now they're like doing evangelistic things like that together.
- 21:32Oscar Navarro: I said wait, are you?
- 21:32Emeal Zwayne: guys.
- 21:33Emeal Zwayne: They're like yeah, we met, we've connected, now we're witnessing together.
- 21:35Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, it was really really cool.
- 21:37Emeal Zwayne: So yeah, so the Olympics, blasphemy, all that Oscar, are you gonna say something else?
- 21:42Oscar Navarro: Well, I was gonna point out the French Olympic organizers.
- 21:46Oscar Navarro: Before everything even got started, they made it a point to say that unity was gonna be a focal point of the opening ceremony, that it was gonna be about inclusion and diversity and non-discrimination, and yet so far they've done anything but accomplish that thing.
- 21:59Oscar Navarro: And diversity and non-discrimination.
- 22:00Oscar Navarro: And yet so far they've done anything but accomplish that thing.
- 22:05Oscar Navarro: First, the French team banned all Muslim women from wearing a hijab because it was a display of the religious belief, and they believe, they claim to believe in secular neutrality, so you're not allowed to wear, most likely crosses, anything that represents your faith.
- 22:24Oscar Navarro: Palestinians, we refuse to shake hands of Israeli competitors.
- 22:29Oscar Navarro: And then, of course, we saw the blasphemy, the disrespect, the dishonor at the opening ceremonies with the Last Supper, and it just reminds me anytime mankind has ever tried to make heaven happen on earth, it has failed miserably, since Babylon.
- 22:49Oscar Navarro: What was Babylon?
- 22:50Oscar Navarro: Babylon was human beings trying to create a utopia, a heaven on earth, a heaven without God, and it did not work.
- 22:59Oscar Navarro: It almost destroyed the world.
- 23:01Oscar Navarro: And since then, whether it's socialism or communism, whatever you want to call it, every time we want to create non-discriminatory utopia, heaven on earth without God, we ruin it.
- 23:16Oscar Navarro: And the beauty, of course, of the gospel is, ultimately, the desire is good, the desire for a world in which there is actually not discrimination, where there is no such thing as hatred and violence and racism and classism.
- 23:32Oscar Navarro: That is a beautiful desire, something written on all of our hearts.
- 23:37Oscar Navarro: It is a cry for heaven, but the reality is that we will never have heaven without God.
- 23:43Oscar Navarro: That is the work of God, and the beauty is we don't have to turn the Olympics for that.
- 23:48Oscar Navarro: We turn to what God is doing in the local church.
- 23:51Oscar Navarro: We turn to the gospel and the promise that heaven will come down to earth as it is in heaven.
- 23:57Ray Comfort: Heaven without God is the ultimate oxymoron.
- 24:00Emeal Zwayne: Amen, you're absolutely right, yeah, so true, yeah, oscar, you make some really good points there, and we've talked about this a number of times, but ultimately, that's what people are trying to do when they remove God from the equation.
- 24:16Emeal Zwayne: They're trying to create their own humanistic utopia that, in a sense, is crafting themselves into God, like you're always going to have an ultimate authority, and if the ultimate authority is not God, if the ultimate authority is not God's word, it's going to be man, and then it becomes a mechanism for worship, in a sense, because you are then pledging the fullness of your allegiance to man, or to that organization of man, or that platform that man directed, whatever it is.
- 24:50Emeal Zwayne: That's what ends up happening.
- 24:51Emeal Zwayne: So, ray, we were there and you were here.
- 24:55Ray Comfort: Interceding for you guys?
- 24:56Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, interceding, it would have been dead without my intercession yes of course, of course, and you you know we were kind of experiencing the sort of atmosphere there after that opening ceremony, what was going on.
- 25:09Emeal Zwayne: We'll get into the details of what we did and what God miraculously did through it, but what came to your mind as you saw this I thought, be not deceived.
- 25:17Ray Comfort: God is not mocked.
- 25:18Ray Comfort: Whatever man sows, that will also reap.
- 25:20Ray Comfort: It's like man thinking how terrific he is because he's shaking his fist at the sun because it's too hot for him.
- 25:27Ray Comfort: But it's not.
- 25:28Ray Comfort: Nothing's going to happen, except he's going to incur the wrath of God.
- 25:33Ray Comfort: And that's what happens when men blaspheme God, when they mock God.
- 25:36Ray Comfort: God is not mocked, he doesn't change.
- 25:39Ray Comfort: Whatever man sows that will, he also reap.
- 25:41Ray Comfort: So God's wrath will come upon them on the day of judgment.
- 25:44Ray Comfort: I hope they come to Christ.
- 25:45Ray Comfort: But what offended me wasn't just the blasphemy.
- 25:48Ray Comfort: It was the fact that these people, despite the oath of the International Olympic Committee which says let me give you the oath, I will act independently of commercial and political interests.
- 25:59Ray Comfort: That's the oath they said.
- 26:02Ray Comfort: And here they inject a homosexual idealism right in the middle of the Olympics.
- 26:09Ray Comfort: What's that got to do?
- 26:10Ray Comfort: Try a little picture of Donald Trump just going past Something that pushes some political ideology.
- 26:17Ray Comfort: It's just not going to get through.
- 26:19Ray Comfort: They would have looked at everything with a fine-toothed comb because the whole world's watching.
- 26:24Ray Comfort: And so my thought was why didn't someone from the 105-member International Olympic Committee say something?
- 26:33Oscar Navarro: Yeah right.
- 26:33Ray Comfort: And I know why.
- 26:34Ray Comfort: If they had, in private, spoken up and said we can't do this, that would have been leaked to the leftist media.
- 26:42Ray Comfort: And suddenly, you don't bake a cake for homosexuals.
- 26:45Ray Comfort: They'll destroy you.
- 26:46Ray Comfort: They'll destroy your business.
- 26:47Ray Comfort: So you speak up like this and they're gonna ban you, they're gonna blacklist you, gaslight, you gonna protest outside your home, you're gonna be kicked out of the Olympic Committee because you spoke up against this issue that's so volatile.
- 27:01Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, mark, wouldn't you say that that is a part of it, this atmosphere of fear that's been created because the repercussions are, they're real, you know, and we were starting to see people walk it back, like it was clear, there was someone that said that this, even one of the performers in there, there was that guy with the beard, the drag queen with the beard.
- 27:22Emeal Zwayne: He was interviewed and, like, made it clear it was in relation to the Last Supper, and one of the producers too, yeah, and someone from the committee.
- 27:32Emeal Zwayne: I mean, they were admitting and then suddenly it was like no, no, no, it wasn't that.
- 27:35Emeal Zwayne: It was, you know, the feast of the gods or whatever.
- 27:39Mark Spence: Yeah, who was it that said if you fear God, you don't need to fear man?
- 27:41Mark Spence: You did just there, just now.
- 27:44Emeal Zwayne: I just said it.
- 27:44Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, it was me.
- 27:45Mark Spence: Max said it.
- 27:45Mark Spence: I'm the one that said it, quoting somebody, but it's so right.
- 27:49Mark Spence: I think that we have such a fear of man because we have such a lack of a fear of God.
- 27:53Mark Spence: If you know what your marching orders are directly from the Lord, then it doesn't matter.
- 28:00Mark Spence: I mean, you can't get canceled as a Christian.
- 28:03Mark Spence: You're going to run your race with endurance, not caring what happens.
- 28:07Mark Spence: I read an interesting quote from a game that is no longer obviously part of the Olympic Games.
- 28:14Mark Spence: But did you know that there was an Olympic game where you'd run a race and the winner was not the one who was given the medal, it was the one who finished with his torch still lit?
- 28:25Mark Spence: Wow, so you had to run your race with a torch and the one who had his torch still lit so you gotta run slow so you everybody, what's?
- 28:34Ray Comfort: the spiritual analogy.
- 28:35Mark Spence: Here's how ray works.
- 28:36Mark Spence: Right ray what is the spiritual?
- 28:37Ray Comfort: analogy.
- 28:38Ray Comfort: Keep your light shining.
- 28:39Ray Comfort: Don't don't let no man take your crown.
- 28:41Ray Comfort: Hold fast to that which you've got.
- 28:43Ray Comfort: Let their light continue to shine, so you don't want to cross the finish line without the light of the gospel.
- 28:48Ray Comfort: Stay on fire, for the Lord.
- 28:50Ray Comfort: Yeah, that's what I would do if I was running with a torch.
- 28:55Emeal Zwayne: You'd light the whole stadium.
- 28:56Ray Comfort: Look at that man, as he has caught fire.
- 29:01Mark Spence: Yeah, They'd be like what do we?
- 29:02Emeal Zwayne: do.
- 29:03Emeal Zwayne: The torch is out, but he's on fire.
- 29:04Emeal Zwayne: He's the same size as the torch, though.
- 29:05Emeal Zwayne: Run with him.
- 29:05Emeal Zwayne: But, Mark, it wasn't.
- 29:08Emeal Zwayne: Like you know, I remember we were out on the streets there in Paris talking to people about this.
- 29:13Emeal Zwayne: We'll get into that, but I realized afterwards that, like I didn't give details to people on the streets which which I wish I would have in retrospect uh, but you know, when you think about it, um, it wasn't just.
- 29:27Emeal Zwayne: It's like you have people, because the notion is you guys are saying lgbtq people were in this.
- 29:34Emeal Zwayne: How dare you be?
- 29:35Emeal Zwayne: You know bigots like that.
- 29:36Mark Spence: It's what they were doing yeah, and Oscar brings us out inside of our YouTube clip which has more than 2 million views on it.
- 29:44Mark Spence: Absolutely amazing.
- 29:45Mark Spence: Maybe Oscar do a better job at this, as you brought out the comparison that if we were to mock the LGBTQ community, you know we get in trouble.
- 29:53Oscar Navarro: Right, yeah, that's exactly right.
- 29:55Oscar Navarro: I mean, can you imagine?
- 29:56Oscar Navarro: I said to somebody you know, can you imagine if there was news of a church that put on some sort of display that was clearly a mockery of the LGBTQ community, how would everyone respond?
- 30:06Oscar Navarro: You'd be watching that on TV and they'd be like but this isn't right, like this is hatred, this is discriminatory, it's intolerant, et cetera, et cetera.
- 30:14Oscar Navarro: And yet we put on display the last supper, and it wasn't just drag Queens, it wasn't just um, et cetera, et cetera.
- 30:22Oscar Navarro: There were children, there was a child in the middle of that.
- 30:24Oscar Navarro: You know, um.
- 30:25Oscar Navarro: And so you, you put it on display and all of a sudden it's like, oh yeah, that's a beautiful piece of art, that's great, that's amazing.
- 30:32Oscar Navarro: They did such a great job.
- 30:33Oscar Navarro: You know the double standard that's out there, and it reminds me of an experience that I had in Washington.
- 30:44Oscar Navarro: I think I've told you guys this before.
- 30:45Oscar Navarro: It was on a trip for Living Waters.
- 30:47Oscar Navarro: I was at this coffee shop in Seattle, washington, and it just so happened that this coffee shop was hosting like a music and art festival and I had a few hours to kill between different meetings, and so I was sitting there getting some work done, having some coffee and and, uh, there's this like show going on and there was a pretty eclectic group of people there and at one point, a young woman, uh, shaved head, you know, ear piercings and tattoos, and uh, an elegant dress gets up and she welcomes everybody and then she says something effective like you know, I want to point out that this is a place of inclusion, that everybody is welcome here, and there's some cheering and then she goes and so if you, if you have any hate filled, bigoted, backwater views, you can get up and leave.
- 31:36Oscar Navarro: And then she says you can get your expletive out of your seat and leave, and everyone roared and cheered, you know, and it and I'm sitting there, you know, working on like a sermon or something and it begs the question what is tolerance and can we get it wrong?
- 31:55Oscar Navarro: And I think, just to answer that question that I'd be here from you guys.
- 31:58Oscar Navarro: Tolerance, first and foremost, is actually a gift from God to us, given to our culture through Christianity, and just like everything else, just like sex, just like money, we can take a good gift from the giver, and when we detach the giver from the gift, it becomes distorted, we abuse it, and so you think about tolerance like a biblical view of tolerance is this it's that truth is desirable, attainable and absolute.
- 32:31Oscar Navarro: And in the marketplace of ideas we step in and we are like miners sifting for gold.
- 32:40Oscar Navarro: And in that view of truth we can say you know what?
- 32:43Oscar Navarro: I may disagree with you, I may think that your ideas are stupid, but even if so, I still respect you as a person.
- 32:53Oscar Navarro: This view of tolerance has everything to do with the image bearing quality that we have.
- 32:58Oscar Navarro: That's a Christian view of tolerance.
- 33:00Oscar Navarro: A post-Christian view of tolerance is this truth is subjective and therefore individualistic, and in that framework, truth is not an absolute to attain, but rather it's something the masses win over through suppression, because truth is ultimately about power and submission my truth over your truth.
- 33:28Oscar Navarro: And the only way my truth wins is if you submit to my power.
- 33:31Oscar Navarro: Right, and in that framework, suddenly we can use words like tolerance to put on display intolerance, and that's exactly what we saw at the Olympics.
- 33:42Emeal Zwayne: Absolutely yeah.
- 33:44Emeal Zwayne: I think what's happened is the word tolerance has been infused with the meaning of acceptance, because it's not like okay, tolerance.
- 33:56Emeal Zwayne: Obviously it's connected to the word tolerate right, which means I'm not showing violence towards you, I'm not acting hatefully towards you, I'm not tearing you down with expletives and demeaning vocabulary or rhetoric, but now it's shifted to no, you must accept me and accept what I'm doing.
- 34:20Emeal Zwayne: And the thing with the LGBTQ community is it's not who you are Like.
- 34:24Emeal Zwayne: This is my ethnicity, this is my physical appearance, this is my height, this is me adopting certain practices that have, for millennia, been understood by the public as being immoral.
- 34:40Emeal Zwayne: And now you have to.
- 34:41Emeal Zwayne: You have to not just accept, but celebrate right, mark.
- 34:45Emeal Zwayne: Don't you think it's coming to the place where now you must celebrate me?
- 34:48Mark Spence: yes, in fact, I got into an online debate just this morning with this very subject.
- 34:53Mark Spence: It wasn't with the person, I was with chad gpt, but I wanted to teach ch GPT a lesson and there's no doing yourself.
- 35:02Mark Spence: Maybe I try to teach it the very thing that Oscar and you are talking about here easy, and there's just no learning.
- 35:11Mark Spence: And I asked the question why is it that the LGBTQ plus community can mock Christianity but Christianity cannot?
- 35:18Mark Spence: It doesn't desire to, but cannot mock the LGBTQ community?
- 35:21Mark Spence: And the response was well, because the LGBTQ community has been marginalized for so long.
- 35:26Mark Spence: I'm like that is your answer.
- 35:29Mark Spence: It was quite silly, but we were going back and forth and Chet Chippety won, just because I was exhausted of going back and forth and I thought I had better.
- 35:37Emeal Zwayne: Wow, Mark was arguing with a non-living entity.
- 35:39Emeal Zwayne: I thought I could teach it something by being reasonable.
- 35:42Mark Spence: But there's just.
- 35:44Mark Spence: I kept saying hogwash, nope, doesn't work.
- 35:46Mark Spence: Over and over again and I said I understand your frustration.
- 35:49Mark Spence: And I said I'm not frustrated just because I have a different view than what you've been pre-programmed to say.
- 35:55Emeal Zwayne: Isn't it crazy that, like, in a sense, nothing in this world is neutral?
- 35:58Emeal Zwayne: Like, in a sense, nothing in this world is neutral.
- 36:01Emeal Zwayne: I mean not even a non-sentient like artificial intelligence.
- 36:04Emeal Zwayne: It was obviously programmed by someone and it has a worldview.
- 36:10Oscar Navarro: Mark, I really hope you guys can work it out.
- 36:12Mark Spence: We're getting coffee later.
- 36:14Emeal Zwayne: We need a reconciliation intervention with Mark and ChatGPT.
- 36:18Emeal Zwayne: All right, guys.
- 36:19Emeal Zwayne: So let's get to the video, okay, Because this became the highlight of the trip in a sense.
- 36:26Emeal Zwayne: So we saw what was going on and, Mark, take us from there, because your boys were heavily involved in this.
- 36:36Mark Spence: Absolutely yeah.
- 36:36Mark Spence: Originally, Nathaniel had reached out to Ray about producing a video on the subject and Nathaniel goes we could do this from here.
- 36:44Mark Spence: So my son, Ethan, was there as well, and then they had the idea let's produce this.
- 36:49Mark Spence: And then the three of us, we went off into our own little worlds and sections to talk about this very subject.
- 36:55Mark Spence: So we shot the video, we did commentary on the video, we edited the video all in one day and then it was like up until three o'clock in the morning we kept talking about wow, these views are getting out of hand, they're getting crazy, and there's lots of people that started giving comments.
- 37:11Mark Spence: And then you saw that there was a sponsor that pulled out from the Olympics because of this opening ceremony.
- 37:17Mark Spence: I would not be surprised if that was in direct relation to our video, the YouTube video, which more than 2 million views.
- 37:24Mark Spence: It's crazy, yeah.
- 37:26Ray Comfort: I mean 2.6 million.
- 37:27Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, 2.6 million and growing.
- 37:28Emeal Zwayne: And I mean it became within a few days our like number eight top video of all time.
- 37:36Emeal Zwayne: And we have what?
- 37:37Emeal Zwayne: 2,800 videos on our YouTube channel, and so I think it was within 18 hours we had crossed into like 1.3 million views or something.
- 37:45Emeal Zwayne: Guys, isn't that fun.
- 37:48Emeal Zwayne: It's so fun.
- 37:49Emeal Zwayne: I mean seriously, I could not stop going back over and over again.
- 37:53Emeal Zwayne: I'm thinking, look, this is translating into souls being impacted by the gospel, because it's packed with the gospel, and what I love about it is that it was on a whim, it wasn't pre-planned.
- 38:07Ray Comfort: And, ray, I mean you've had videos like that right In the past where you've just thought the idea up you put it up and one, two, three, four million views and it's always a shock when that happens, because you plan something, spend days or even weeks getting it and it flops.
- 38:20Ray Comfort: You do one in a couple of hours and it takes off and you just think this is great.
- 38:30Oscar Navarro: One of the highlights to me in the video is we had a five-minute huddle in the morning where it was like all right, you're going to go here and talk, you're going to go there and talk and I'll go get some men on the street interviews.
- 38:36Oscar Navarro: We didn't really hash out what we were going to say.
- 38:39Oscar Navarro: You didn't really know how I was going to approach my conversation.
- 38:42Ray Comfort: It's kind of like a podcast.
- 38:44Ray Comfort: Yeah, exactly.
- 38:46Oscar Navarro: I really didn't know what Mark and Easy had planned, if they had anything planned in that moment.
- 38:52Oscar Navarro: But by the time Tani and Ethan got out of their hotel room after a few hours of editing it and put it together and I watched it for the first time, it was as if the three of us planned exactly what we were going to say, which to me is just like it speaks to the like-mindedness of us.
- 39:08Oscar Navarro: You know, like we, we didn't talk, but everything I said to the person you ended up teaching.
- 39:13Oscar Navarro: It's like you guys taught on something and I applied it and that was really just a gift from God to that moment.
- 39:20Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, and Oscar, I would love for you to kind of share with us a little bit about your interviews with people.
- 39:27Emeal Zwayne: But I want to say first of all, kudos to Tani and Ethan.
- 39:29Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, 100%, I mean, these guys gave up like expensive soccer Olympics.
- 39:36Mark Spence: We were going to a soccer game Israel versus Paraguay.
- 39:38Oscar Navarro: You know my kids are.
- 39:39Mark Spence: Jewish and they weren't able to see it and I was like a little bummed that we weren't able to go there.
- 39:47Oscar Navarro: But they were but they, without hesitation, were like let's do this.
- 39:49Emeal Zwayne: Oh yeah, it wasn't like when I talked to them, they're like oh no, no, no, we're going to skip the game.
- 39:52Emeal Zwayne: I'm like, whoa, that's a big deal hotel room and praise the Lord for modern technology, like I mean, again we're away from our headquarters, I mean.
- 40:02Emeal Zwayne: But they had their computers, we have the internet and they threw it together.
- 40:05Emeal Zwayne: And I was shocked when I got the video for review.
- 40:08Emeal Zwayne: They're like, hey, here it is.
- 40:08Emeal Zwayne: I'm like what you guys are done and, ray, what'd you think of the video?
- 40:13Ray Comfort: Oh, it was so professional, so quick and held your interest, which?
- 40:19Ray Comfort: Is what they've got to do.
- 40:20Ray Comfort: You can't lose interest within, you know, five minutes.
- 40:22Ray Comfort: You're just gone.
- 40:23Ray Comfort: Yeah, Held interest right through.
- 40:25Emeal Zwayne: And at the same time, you know, like we were dealing with the rain.
- 40:28Emeal Zwayne: Yeah Right, and that's difficult.
- 40:35Emeal Zwayne: We were at a place called the Pantheon and I was up on the kind of top level roof filming and there's crowds.
- 40:38Emeal Zwayne: I mean it's a tourist place, right, so we're like, all right, let's do it here.
- 40:40Emeal Zwayne: But there's people on either side of me and they're trying to cross to the other side.
- 40:44Emeal Zwayne: In fact, while I'm filming, one guy ducks under the camera and goes to the other side and you know it's in the rain and it was just.
- 40:55Emeal Zwayne: You know there were challenging aspects to it, but when it was all put together, I'm like man Lord.
- 40:57Emeal Zwayne: And to think, if our entire trip was for this video, for what may soon be 3 million people, I mean it's continuing to grow.
- 41:04Emeal Zwayne: Imagine 3 million people.
- 41:07Emeal Zwayne: You know, I try to think of that on the level of like a stadium.
- 41:12Emeal Zwayne: I think we have the SoFi Stadium.
- 41:13Emeal Zwayne: It seats like 70, 80, 90 million, you know, million.
- 41:19Ray Comfort: I mean, that was evangelistic.
- 41:22Emeal Zwayne: The exact rating of evangelism?
- 41:23Emeal Zwayne: No, but you know, 70, 80, 90,000.
- 41:26Emeal Zwayne: I don't know, it's something like that which is massive.
- 41:28Emeal Zwayne: Right, 70,000.
- 41:29Emeal Zwayne: Okay, 70,000.
- 41:31Emeal Zwayne: Like multiple, do the math on that.
- 41:33Emeal Zwayne: How many of those stadiums would it take?
- 41:36Emeal Zwayne: It's wild, you know, for all those people getting the gospel.
- 41:39Oscar Navarro: I wish I would've known it would have done that I would've worn something better than a trash bag.
- 41:43Emeal Zwayne: I know.
- 41:43Emeal Zwayne: I was gonna say, an Oscar with a trash bag.
- 41:44Emeal Zwayne: It's about 38 stadiums.
- 41:46Ray Comfort: What's that?
- 41:46Ray Comfort: Probably about 38 stadiums.
- 41:48Mark Spence: Wow, it's unreal 19 years of watch.
- 41:51Mark Spence: Time is what it was 166,000 hours.
- 41:55Mark Spence: That's crazy.
- 41:55Mark Spence: Wow, 19,000.
- 41:56Mark Spence: Praise.
- 41:57Emeal Zwayne: God, yeah, just his sovereignty constantly blows my mind and I've said to you guys as well in a sense we're sort of desensitized to those kinds of numbers when we hear millions Like yeah, you know, we have a channel, almost a million and a half subscribers and almost 300 million views, but we have to let that register 2.6 million people already yeah, but the next video only got 120,000.
- 42:21Ray Comfort: Oh, 2.6 million people already.
- 42:22Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, but the next video only got 120,000.
- 42:24Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, so 120,000, which is almost two SoFi stadiums full of people.
- 42:31Emeal Zwayne: We're like, oh yeah.
- 42:32Emeal Zwayne: So, oscar, you go out, you start interviewing people.
- 42:36Emeal Zwayne: What was your sense of things and how you were?
- 42:37Emeal Zwayne: And let me just say one of the cool things was the compliment that I saw a few times in the comments of people saying man, oscar was just so tender with these people, especially the young black guy that you talked to, that just gentle and loving and giving the gospel so effectively, but no compromise, praise the Lord.
- 42:53Oscar Navarro: Yeah, one of the things that stood out to me is I was running up to people and just trying to get as many conversations as humanly possible and in my mind I thought, like it'll probably be, just over 50% of the people are going to love it.
- 43:06Oscar Navarro: It was 100%, not a single person.
- 43:10Oscar Navarro: There's nothing that wasn't-.
- 43:12Oscar Navarro: It told them about the opening ceremony, the opening ceremony.
- 43:14Oscar Navarro: I asked them what did you think?
- 43:15Oscar Navarro: And it was loved.
- 43:17Oscar Navarro: It was great.
- 43:18Oscar Navarro: What'd you think about the last supper?
- 43:19Oscar Navarro: I thought it was great.
- 43:20Oscar Navarro: Some people wouldn't like it.
- 43:21Oscar Navarro: What do you think about that?
- 43:22Oscar Navarro: Loved it, didn't have any problem with it.
- 43:23Oscar Navarro: 100% of the people that I talked to were convinced that it was amazing and good and well done.
- 43:31Oscar Navarro: And yeah, the conversation with the young black man was really cool.
- 43:35Oscar Navarro: He promised me like five, 10 minutes and we ended up talking for probably 20.
- 43:40Oscar Navarro: Wow, but he was in it.
- 43:41Oscar Navarro: He was like he was there.
- 43:43Oscar Navarro: He never rushed the conversation.
- 43:45Oscar Navarro: He was super interested.
- 43:46Oscar Navarro: Same with the Spaniard that had a conversation with.
- 43:48Oscar Navarro: He was um, I was really thankful that afterwards he said he'd think about it.
- 43:53Oscar Navarro: I got to go through the gospel with both those guys and and and really thankful for their willingness to think critically and even have the possibility of changing their minds over something like that, and it seemed like they were really open about realizing the hypocrisy in what had just happened.
- 44:11Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, yeah, oh man, I'm thrilled I still keep going back and looking at the views and the comments.
- 44:17Emeal Zwayne: And, ray, I mean what a, I think, great sort of moment right now for us to remind people of capitalizing on whatever's happening in the world to get the gospel out?
- 44:32Ray Comfort: Yeah, absolutely Springboards everywhere.
- 44:35Ray Comfort: One thing that I keep having to remind myself is that, as Christians, we're not overly offended by their lifestyle.
- 44:42Ray Comfort: That doesn't deeply concern us.
- 44:44Ray Comfort: It's like someone's living in adultery.
- 44:45Ray Comfort: They're fornicating look on pornography.
- 44:47Ray Comfort: Yeah, that's your business.
- 44:48Ray Comfort: Our concern is where are they going to spend eternity?
- 44:51Mark Spence: Amen.
- 44:51Ray Comfort: And that's why we've got to say to homosexuals do what you want, but realize this do not be deceived.
- 44:56Ray Comfort: Homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God, and that's what's going to matter on judgment day.
- 45:01Emeal Zwayne: Amen.
- 45:02Emeal Zwayne: Yeah, and I think that's an important point to make.
- 45:04Emeal Zwayne: I think the world is expecting Christians to be up in arms and look, I mean, come on, we're not stupid.
- 45:11Emeal Zwayne: We know that those behind this were realizing this was going to cause an upheaval and it was gonna bring attention, and that's all a part of strategizing and stuff.
- 45:22Emeal Zwayne: But I think a part of it is this expectation that Christians are gonna be what.
- 45:26Emeal Zwayne: Now, of course, we can experience righteous indignation in the sense that this grieves our hearts.
- 45:33Emeal Zwayne: But, number one, we're not surprised.
- 45:35Emeal Zwayne: I mean, of course we expect this from the world, and especially with how things have been trending.
- 45:40Emeal Zwayne: But, number two, we're not hate-filled towards these people.
- 45:46Emeal Zwayne: We know God is sovereign, he's in control, but the truth is the truth and we see this as an opportunity to highlight.
- 45:53Emeal Zwayne: Hey, look at where the world's at.
- 45:55Emeal Zwayne: And in the comments I saw a number of people saying where are we Like?
- 45:59Emeal Zwayne: What is happening?
- 46:00Emeal Zwayne: There were even atheists, there were Muslims in the comment section saying I'm a Muslim, I'm an atheist, but this is ridiculous.
- 46:08Mark Spence: So Mark the Lord using things for the good like it meant for evil and God uses it for the good.
- 46:14Mark Spence: Yeah, this is what we see with Joseph and his brothers.
- 46:16Mark Spence: You cannot thwart God's plan.
- 46:18Mark Spence: We can plan our ways, but ultimately, every decision, every step is ultimately from the Lord.
- 46:24Mark Spence: We did not go out there to try to create a YouTube video.
- 46:27Mark Spence: We went out there to create content for our Way of the Master television season, one of the episodes which we plan on doing, and we got some great content in order to do that.
- 46:39Mark Spence: But we came back clicking our heels because of the ability to reach 2.6 million people and we had no intention of doing that that morning and it's still doing it in perpetuity.
- 46:47Mark Spence: We could all die and it's still going to work because the gospel does not return void and God has a plan that is outside of our plan, but ultimately, if he would have asked us, maybe we'd have been too nervous to do it, except for Ray.
- 47:01Oscar Navarro: You mentioned righteous indignation and it's so important.
- 47:04Oscar Navarro: You also mentioned how in the comments they mentioned how there is a gentleness in the video.
- 47:09Oscar Navarro: There's a difference between righteous indignation and the culture of outrage and cancel culture and the outrage culture, cancel culture will demonize and talk down, but righteous indignation actually comes from a place of humility and a desire for truth and a love for the lost, and so I would just say what do we do?
- 47:35Oscar Navarro: How do we respond?
- 47:36Oscar Navarro: We cannot take the bait.
- 47:38Oscar Navarro: We have to be like humble miners, seeking and advocating for truth, beauty and goodness, while respecting those who disrespect us.
- 47:50Oscar Navarro: Why?
- 47:50Oscar Navarro: Because we worship the God of truth, beauty and goodness, amen.
- 47:55Emeal Zwayne: There's nothing more beautiful, nothing more powerful than to watch someone speak the truth in a self-controlled, humble wisdom, wise, gentle and non-compromising fashion.
- 48:11Emeal Zwayne: Like I mean, you are not veering from the truth one iota, you're speaking it in its fullness.
- 48:17Emeal Zwayne: But there's that demeanor about you of like man this person cares this person like they're different, like what in the world?
- 48:26Emeal Zwayne: Like I feel you love me, even though you're telling me that what I'm doing is wrong and you totally disagree with me and I'm heading for a place called hell.
- 48:33Emeal Zwayne: How are you doing that?
- 48:34Emeal Zwayne: In a way that's like making me want to hug you.
- 48:37Oscar Navarro: You just described every Ray Comfort evangelist experience seriously because he just does such a good job of that.
- 48:43Emeal Zwayne: Praise God, may we press on in that and, friends, we hope you're inspired in that.
- 48:46Emeal Zwayne: Look, we sympathize with getting frustrated and agitated, but you have to remember what is the mission here To reach this person right.
- 48:54Emeal Zwayne: Remember, you can win the argument, but lose the person and you've lost.
- 48:57Emeal Zwayne: And so let's keep that in mind and let's capitalize on every opportunity.
- 49:02Emeal Zwayne: And if you haven't checked out the video, do it now.
