- 0:03Speaker 1: Hi, get everybody. I'm Dan Horde and thanks for downloading

- 0:13Speaker 1: Lapham joins me to discuss the selection of Joe Burrow
- 0:17Speaker 1: number one overall in the NFL Draft, and look ahead
- 0:20Speaker 1: to Round two and the players that are still available
- 0:23Speaker 1: for Cincinnati. Plus my conversation with boomerasiasin as the last
- 0:29Speaker 1: quarterback to lead the Bengals to the super Bowl, discusses
- 0:32Speaker 1: the QB that we all hope will be the next
- 0:35Speaker 1: quarterback to lead the Bengals to the super Bowl. The
- 0:38Speaker 1: Bengals Booth Podcast is presented by Prime Sport, the official fan,
- 0:42Speaker 1: travel and hospitality partner of the Cincinnati Bengals. And here's
- 0:46Speaker 1: a quick reminder that you can have the latest edition
- 0:49Speaker 1: of this podcast delivered right to your phone, tablet, or
- 0:53Speaker 1: computer by subscribing wherever you get your podcasts. It's the
- 0:57Speaker 1: greatest thing since Greater's Chunky Chunky Hippo ice Cream. The
- 1:05Speaker 1: first round of the draft lasted for four hours and
- 1:07Speaker 1: at some point I needed a snack. Well, this week
- 1:11Speaker 1: I sampled Greater's Chunky Chunky Hippo ice cream for the
- 1:14Speaker 1: first time and It's unbelievable roasted peanuts and milk chocolate
- 1:20Speaker 1: caramel truffles combined in sweet and creamy toffee ice cream.
- 1:25Speaker 1: I think we have about a half a pint left
- 1:28Speaker 1: and I have strategically stashed it in the back of
- 1:31Speaker 1: the freezer. I'm looking forward to indulging again during the
- 1:35Speaker 1: second night of the draft. Now time for my conversation
- 1:38Speaker 1: with Dave Lapham, as he joined me moments after round
- 1:41Speaker 1: one ended. Lap We had the opportunity to take part
- 1:45Speaker 1: in a virtual news conference with Joe Burrow a little
- 1:48Speaker 1: while after he was drafted number one overall by Cincinnati,
- 1:51Speaker 1: and I was reminded of his meeting with the Bengals
- 1:55Speaker 1: at the scouting combine when one person in the room
- 1:57Speaker 1: said it was the best one of those reviews they
- 2:00Speaker 1: had ever taken part with in I felt the same
- 2:03Speaker 1: way watching his news conference with Cincinnati area reporters. You
- 2:07Speaker 1: talk about impressive. He answered every question perfectly. He did,
- 2:14Speaker 1: and uh, you know, I went to the combine for
- 2:16Speaker 1: his press conference there same thing. I mean he I
- 2:21Speaker 1: asked him, what what do you think your strength is?
- 2:25Speaker 1: And he sat leadership, rallying people. He has innate people skills.
- 2:31Speaker 1: You know. I mean, he's just one of those guys
- 2:33Speaker 1: that gets it. He just people. People are gonna gravitate
- 2:37Speaker 1: toward him, They're gonna believe in him. Is he's special.
- 2:42Speaker 1: He is extremely special. And uh seen him twice now
- 2:46Speaker 1: and in both times not just a home run, a
- 2:49Speaker 1: grand salami. I mean, he just he's something else. And
- 2:53Speaker 1: by the time he talked to Cincinnati area reporters, he
- 2:56Speaker 1: had probably done a million interviews. He was on a
- 2:58Speaker 1: national report. I'm sure he did a news conference with
- 3:02Speaker 1: the big wig, so to speak. So by the time
- 3:04Speaker 1: he got around to all of us, he had to
- 3:07Speaker 1: be a little bit mentally fried. And yet he turned
- 3:10Speaker 1: it on, recognizing that this was going to be the
- 3:14Speaker 1: first impression that he made with people who'll be dealing
- 3:16Speaker 1: with on a regular basis, his first impression with many
- 3:19Speaker 1: Cincinnati fans, and those are the kinds of things you
- 3:23Speaker 1: have to do if you are in that spot. There's
- 3:26Speaker 1: no doubt. I mean, I think you know, he's he
- 3:30Speaker 1: grew up around the game, and you know, I'm sure
- 3:32Speaker 1: he's heard his dad talk about you know, guys have
- 3:35Speaker 1: handled themselves well and guys that didn't, and lessons to
- 3:39Speaker 1: be learned from that. And and he I just think
- 3:41Speaker 1: that his personality is that though I don't think he
- 3:47Speaker 1: never has to put on any time of false air
- 3:50Speaker 1: or anything else. All he has to be is Joe Burrow.
- 3:53Speaker 1: And I mean it's it's just like I said before,
- 3:57Speaker 1: his teammates at Ohio State. I think the world of
- 4:00Speaker 1: his teammates in high school. Think the world of them.
- 4:02Speaker 1: You know, when when college kids travel to the national
- 4:05Speaker 1: championship game in their own time to watch your old
- 4:08Speaker 1: teammate win a national championship. That speaks volumes and uh,
- 4:12Speaker 1: you know he impacts people. Uh and and I think
- 4:15Speaker 1: you know he's gonna be when when you look at it, Dan,
- 4:17Speaker 1: he's twenty three years old. He's not He's not like
- 4:19Speaker 1: a twenty year old kid, you know, coming into the
- 4:22Speaker 1: National Football League. It's not like a twenty year old
- 4:24Speaker 1: kid was going to a huddle with a bunch of
- 4:26Speaker 1: thirty year old guys. He's twenty three years old, and
- 4:29Speaker 1: the team, all these guys they signed in free agency,
- 4:33Speaker 1: you know, are into just finishing their first contracts. So
- 4:36Speaker 1: you know a lot of them are in their you know,
- 4:38Speaker 1: mid to late twenties themselves. I mean, it's not like
- 4:41Speaker 1: he's gonna you know, he's gonna be dealing with a
- 4:44Speaker 1: bunch of you know, crusty, old veteran guys. Now he
- 4:47Speaker 1: still has to prove himself. I mean, he's he's the
- 4:49Speaker 1: new guy, he's the young buck. But you know, I
- 4:52Speaker 1: don't I don't think he's gonna have any difficulty whatsoever
- 4:55Speaker 1: um being the leader of the pack. I think that's
- 5:00Speaker 1: going to come very naturally and very easily to him.
- 5:02Speaker 1: And I think he's going to do a hell of
- 5:04Speaker 1: a job. He was so good. He even nailed the
- 5:07Speaker 1: question about Cincinnati style chili, which he famously blasted in
- 5:12Speaker 1: an interview a year or two ago whenever that was,
- 5:15Speaker 1: And when asked about it again today, he said, you
- 5:17Speaker 1: know what, I have to give it another try. Maybe
- 5:20Speaker 1: my taste buds have changed. That is a great answer
- 5:25Speaker 1: for that question. It is. And you know, and I
- 5:27Speaker 1: asked him about Andy Dalton, you know, and and I
- 5:30Speaker 1: thought he handled that perfectly, because that's that's going to
- 5:34Speaker 1: be an awkward situation for both really, but they're both
- 5:37Speaker 1: cut from the same cloth in terms of the type
- 5:39Speaker 1: of human being they are, so I don't anticipate, you know,
- 5:42Speaker 1: any issue there. In fact, you know, Andy and Joe
- 5:45Speaker 1: Burrow have to interact whatsoever. And I think he handled
- 5:48Speaker 1: that well. He said, you know, I have no trouble
- 5:51Speaker 1: with Andy Dalton in the quarterback room with you know,
- 5:55Speaker 1: having a veteran guy to lean on, or I have
- 5:57Speaker 1: no problem at all if that's not the case, and
- 5:59Speaker 1: it's a bunch of young guys in the quarterback room,
- 6:01Speaker 1: and I'll handle that as well. And I think that's
- 6:04Speaker 1: that's the thing that you know people are talking about.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Is it swagger? Is it earned confidence? Like you know,
- 6:12Speaker 1: like Zach was categorizing it. He does have one needed
- 6:17Speaker 1: He definitely has an edge, But bottom line is he
- 6:20Speaker 1: has supreme, I mean uber supreme people skills. He really
- 6:26Speaker 1: does at a very young age. It's it's incredible to watch.
- 6:29Speaker 1: So before we had the opportunity to talk to Joe Burrow,
- 6:31Speaker 1: we did talk to Zach Taylor and also offensive coordinator
- 6:34Speaker 1: Brian Callahan. What stood out from their media sessions with
- 6:38Speaker 1: Cincinnati reporters. His effectiveness, you know, under pressure is something
- 6:44Speaker 1: that one pressure was something that the coaching staff took
- 6:47Speaker 1: note of. I think there is no no question about that.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I do think they feel they're going to be able
- 6:52Speaker 1: to get him up to speed quickly. There's a lot
- 6:54Speaker 1: of carry over with concepts offensive concepts that Joe Brady
- 6:58Speaker 1: had installed down there at LA. I mean, like we
- 7:00Speaker 1: talked about earlier in the week, Dan, you know, this
- 7:03Speaker 1: is a pro style offense. This but I liked it.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I liked the term that I heard here um during
- 7:10Speaker 1: the draft coverage spread and shred Joe Burrow and Joe
- 7:15Speaker 1: Brady went down to LSU and said, we're gonna put
- 7:19Speaker 1: five receivers out. There's gonna be five lineman blocking and
- 7:22Speaker 1: Joe Burrow, you're gonna read it and get the ball
- 7:23Speaker 1: out of your hand. You're gonna, you know, cite adjust
- 7:26Speaker 1: the things you need to cite adjust to. You're gonna
- 7:28Speaker 1: process the information quickly. And he spread those defenses out
- 7:32Speaker 1: and uh and made them declare some things and shredded them.
- 7:35Speaker 1: There's no question about it. And he went from his
- 7:39Speaker 1: junior year they did that like thirty two percent of
- 7:41Speaker 1: the time. His senior year they did at eighty seven
- 7:44Speaker 1: percent of the time. And that was the key that
- 7:46Speaker 1: unlucked Joe Burrow. So there's no question. I think Zach feels,
- 7:50Speaker 1: you know, pretty good about that. That's what he wants
- 7:52Speaker 1: to try to do. That's what that's you know, the
- 7:55Speaker 1: passing game like that with the one back set and
- 7:59Speaker 1: spreading the field with either tight ends or you know
- 8:01Speaker 1: multiple a tight end or just all receivers, multiple receivers
- 8:05Speaker 1: or even you know, going totally empty with the back
- 8:08Speaker 1: out of the backfield. Uh, you know, in the slot
- 8:11Speaker 1: or something as well. I mean, he gives him a
- 8:13Speaker 1: lot of diversity, a lot of ways to attack in
- 8:15Speaker 1: the passing game. And Joe Burrow can read it out.
- 8:17Speaker 1: I mean he's uh, he can, he can diagnose. I
- 8:21Speaker 1: mean he's wired right. That's what Brian Callahan's I thought
- 8:25Speaker 1: quote quote was interesting, wired right to diagnose the game. Uh,
- 8:28Speaker 1: he's you know, he's always prepared. And you know I've
- 8:32Speaker 1: asked him about Okay, there's preparation and then there's you know, uh,
- 8:36Speaker 1: intelligent preparation and uh and basically efficient preparation. You know
- 8:43Speaker 1: you can look at tape. And his answer was great
- 8:45Speaker 1: right up when you asked that. Yeah, he really got
- 8:47Speaker 1: excited answer that Joe Burrow did. Yeah he did. You know,
- 8:50Speaker 1: he said, you're right, he said, makes you can watch
- 8:53Speaker 1: tape for five hours or what you learn, but if
- 8:56Speaker 1: you do, if you have a system. If you have
- 8:57Speaker 1: a U you know, a way you going to go
- 9:00Speaker 1: about breaking down tape and in a process that you're
- 9:03Speaker 1: going to go through. And he found a process when
- 9:06Speaker 1: he was at LSU on a daily basis that he
- 9:09Speaker 1: believes in. And that was something else that that Zach
- 9:13Speaker 1: talked about as well when they talked to him. You know,
- 9:16Speaker 1: how did you go about getting ready for football games
- 9:18Speaker 1: at LSU? And you know went through all of that
- 9:21Speaker 1: was Zach. He didn't really describe it all with us,
- 9:24Speaker 1: but he talked about that he had that process, and
- 9:26Speaker 1: Zach I think obviously signed off on that mentally and said,
- 9:30Speaker 1: we were expect you to do the same type of
- 9:31Speaker 1: thing here in Cincinnati. I mean, I think he's a
- 9:34Speaker 1: competitive learner. You know, he's he's a cutthroat competitor. He's
- 9:38Speaker 1: a competitive learner. He's a competitive problem solver when things
- 9:42Speaker 1: break down on the field. I mean, he's he's going
- 9:45Speaker 1: to be a lot of fun. I think for the coaches,
- 9:48Speaker 1: it's gonna be like I remember talking to Tom Moore
- 9:51Speaker 1: who's now with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. You know he's
- 9:54Speaker 1: down there working with Tom Brady, but he was he
- 9:57Speaker 1: was in Indianapolis with Peyton Manning and I up to
- 10:00Speaker 1: know Tom Moore and his coaching in Pittsburgh, and Tom
- 10:03Speaker 1: Moore said that Peyton Manning made him a better coach.
- 10:06Speaker 1: He said, Peyton Manning knew everything inside out and if
- 10:10Speaker 1: I wasn't on my best, if I wasn't on my toes,
- 10:13Speaker 1: he said, you know, Peyton was the smartest kid in
- 10:15Speaker 1: the class, and he'd embarrassed me. So I think I
- 10:18Speaker 1: think Joe Burrow is gonna he's gonna lift the whole boat.
- 10:22Speaker 1: I think that's the kind of guy he's going to be.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I think he's gonna be like Peyton man Tom Brady
- 10:26Speaker 1: is the same way. You know coaches talk about Tom Brady.
- 10:29Speaker 1: You're going to a meeting with Tom Brady, man, he's
- 10:30Speaker 1: gonna have all your eyes, daughter, and all your tea's
- 10:32Speaker 1: crossed because he'll embarrass you. You know, he'll find something
- 10:35Speaker 1: that if you if you were lax in an area
- 10:39Speaker 1: that Tom Brady won't because takes pointed out. And Joe
- 10:42Speaker 1: Burrow's got that kind of football IQ as well, and
- 10:44Speaker 1: I think that just makes everybody better. I think it's
- 10:46Speaker 1: going to be an interesting dynamic to uh, you know,
- 10:49Speaker 1: to witness with his development here in Cincinnati. You mentioned
- 10:53Speaker 1: the LSU spread and shred offense, and early in the
- 10:57Speaker 1: draft process, a lot of people suggested, well made. He
- 11:00Speaker 1: is the product of Joe Brady's creativity and just about
- 11:03Speaker 1: anybody could have put up big numbers in that offense.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Maybe people looked at this backward the whole time. Maybe
- 11:11Speaker 1: his junior year the offense was so lame that no
- 11:15Speaker 1: quarterback was going to put up huge numbers. Yeah, I
- 11:20Speaker 1: think I think that he was. He was in part
- 11:23Speaker 1: of the transition of I mean, the LSU offense under
- 11:27Speaker 1: Less Miles, Our kid wasn't the work for it. Prehistoric
- 11:31Speaker 1: might have been a better description. I mean it was.
- 11:34Speaker 1: It was. He just thought, you know, Less, I'm going
- 11:37Speaker 1: to line up with bigger, better people than you. I'm
- 11:40Speaker 1: not going to try to fool anybody. I'm not gonna
- 11:42Speaker 1: make it very uh you know, very sexy. I'm just
- 11:45Speaker 1: gonna try to pound you with the Leonard Fournettes of
- 11:47Speaker 1: the world or whatever. And Alabam would always smoke him,
- 11:51Speaker 1: you know, and and uh that coach I was like,
- 11:54Speaker 1: you know, we're gonna we're gonna change that. Get to
- 11:57Speaker 1: go get Joe Brady from the New Orleans Saints, incorporate
- 11:59Speaker 1: some of the NFL style of offense, and he's got
- 12:03Speaker 1: a very intelligent quarterback that picked it all up. And
- 12:06Speaker 1: he was surrounded by good talent, obviously, but he was interesting.
- 12:10Speaker 1: When I asked, Joe, you know, when did you realize
- 12:12Speaker 1: that you guys might have a special season like he had?
- 12:16Speaker 1: His answer was interesting. Walking off the field after his
- 12:19Speaker 1: junior year, walking off the field in the bowl game,
- 12:21Speaker 1: he said, you know, he felt like they're on their way.
- 12:25Speaker 1: A lot of guys were returning. He knew how hard
- 12:27Speaker 1: they were going to work, but you know, he didn't
- 12:30Speaker 1: he didn't realize that the crude gras was going to
- 12:32Speaker 1: be Joe Brady and that was you know, that was repellent.
- 12:37Speaker 1: They needed to take him right to the top. One
- 12:39Speaker 1: more thought on Joe Burrow before he moved on to
- 12:41Speaker 1: round two. One other thing that Brian Callahan, the offensive
- 12:45Speaker 1: coordinator coordinator, said that really caught my ear was that
- 12:48Speaker 1: he's the most accurate college quarterback he has ever studied.
- 12:53Speaker 1: The only other person that he mentioned in the same
- 12:55Speaker 1: breath was Andrew Luck. Not a bad comp no question,
- 13:00Speaker 1: no question about it. And you know, when you look
- 13:02Speaker 1: at it Um. It's interesting. You did a great interview
- 13:05Speaker 1: with Boomers Shias and in Boomers Shias and said that,
- 13:09Speaker 1: you know, there's some similarities with what you went on
- 13:11Speaker 1: with Joe Burrow. And when we at Maryland, you know,
- 13:14Speaker 1: we were running a you know, a veer offense at
- 13:17Speaker 1: Maryland and it really didn't accentuate my talents. And uh,
- 13:21Speaker 1: coach Ross comes in and puts in a pro style
- 13:23Speaker 1: offense and now, I, you know, show the NFL what
- 13:26Speaker 1: kind of physical abilities I have. Well, same type of
- 13:29Speaker 1: thing with Joe Burrow, and Joe Brady comes in and boom,
- 13:33Speaker 1: you know there's and the other great quarterback in Bengalslore
- 13:37Speaker 1: the two League MVPs Kenny Anderson. The similarities there. Kenny
- 13:41Speaker 1: Anderson went to Augustana on a basketball scholarship. Kenny Anderson
- 13:45Speaker 1: and Danish were high school teammates in basketball. Kenny was
- 13:48Speaker 1: one all of a guard in basketball and he, you know,
- 13:52Speaker 1: the basketball coach basically said, uh, you know, yeah, you
- 13:56Speaker 1: can go ahead and try out for football. The football
- 13:58Speaker 1: coach that you know, we need you here. We heard
- 14:00Speaker 1: you play quarterback. But his sport was in Joe Burrow
- 14:04Speaker 1: was All State player of the year in basketball and
- 14:06Speaker 1: football in high school. And you know he hits this
- 14:09Speaker 1: in the three point contest during the Peach Bowl against Oklahoma.
- 14:14Speaker 1: His team's getting smoked. He goes six P six from
- 14:17Speaker 1: three point land when he shoots to win the thing.
- 14:21Speaker 1: You know, there's that competitor streak once again in him.
- 14:24Speaker 1: But Kenny Anderson was an accurate shooter in basketball, accurate passer.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I mean, you know, see the court in basketball, see
- 14:32Speaker 1: the field in football. I mean, he's got a lot
- 14:35Speaker 1: of analogies to two of the greatest quarterbacks that had
- 14:38Speaker 1: tremendous careers for the Cincinnati Bengals with league MVPs is
- 14:41Speaker 1: Joe Burrow can come close. That would be great. All right,
- 14:44Speaker 1: Time to move on to Round two. Our dream linebackers
- 14:47Speaker 1: are not there. Kenneth Murray went twenty third to the Chargers,
- 14:51Speaker 1: Patrick Queen went twenty eighth to the Ravens, and the
- 14:54Speaker 1: guy that you had predicted on yesterday's podcast as a
- 14:57Speaker 1: possibility to the Bengals for the third third overall pick
- 15:01Speaker 1: actually went in Round one. Jordan Brooks twenty seventh overall
- 15:06Speaker 1: to Seattle. So the linebackers at the top of the
- 15:10Speaker 1: wish list are not there, Zack Bond is along with
- 15:16Speaker 1: some great players at other positions. Yeah, Zach Bond is there.
- 15:21Speaker 1: But you know, I think thirty three might be a
- 15:23Speaker 1: little rich. But the way the run was made, I mean,
- 15:27Speaker 1: the three picks in a row, Jordan Brooks goes to Seattle,
- 15:31Speaker 1: Patrick Queen goes to Baltimore, and Isaiah Wilson goes to Tennessee.
- 15:36Speaker 1: So I'm thinking, all right, well, you know, the run
- 15:39Speaker 1: on offensive tackles, that was pretty extraordinary. Six offensive tackles
- 15:43Speaker 1: go in the first round, as many offensive tackles as
- 15:45Speaker 1: wide receivers. You know, wide receivers supposed to be the deepest,
- 15:49Speaker 1: one of the deepest positions. Well, six tackles go in
- 15:52Speaker 1: the first round. What's that tell you? Four quarterbacks go?
- 15:55Speaker 1: You know, love does go. The Green Bay Packers trade
- 15:58Speaker 1: to get Love, so that with quarterback went and uh,
- 16:02Speaker 1: but you know, six receivers and six offensive went only
- 16:06Speaker 1: one running back the last pick of the U of
- 16:08Speaker 1: the draft the first round. But yeah, I mean, man,
- 16:12Speaker 1: the work the runs came at different times, but the
- 16:16Speaker 1: linebacker position got get hit late on a run. And uh,
- 16:21Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, with with Wilson gone, it's
- 16:24Speaker 1: like all right, who who's loves well? I got Josh
- 16:28Speaker 1: Jones is there? The only the only knock I have
- 16:33Speaker 1: on him? In my opinion, he's got short arms, you know,
- 16:36Speaker 1: for a guy as big and tall as he is,
- 16:38Speaker 1: he's kind of a little t Rex action. But um,
- 16:41Speaker 1: you know you look at uh Gross Matos, the edge
- 16:44Speaker 1: guy from Penn States. There a lot of people had
- 16:46Speaker 1: him in the first round. Uh Eponenza from Iowa. Uh
- 16:51Speaker 1: is there Jalen Johnson, the cornerback you talked about Dan
- 16:54Speaker 1: Jeff Glad he went late. But Chanal Mims Higgins. I mean,
- 16:59Speaker 1: there's there's a lot of good football players there. But
- 17:01Speaker 1: I think with all of these guys that are there
- 17:05Speaker 1: at thirty three, I you know, I say move back.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I mean, if you have some of these guys, if
- 17:12Speaker 1: they're on the Bengals list, if you've got a couple,
- 17:14Speaker 1: you know, a couple of defensive lineman, an offensive lineman
- 17:18Speaker 1: in three receivers, you know, you feel like there's five
- 17:20Speaker 1: or six guys that are in the same type of category.
- 17:23Speaker 1: You have them all kind of bunched up on your board.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Move back if somebody, if somebody really needs to address
- 17:30Speaker 1: the position group more than you do particularly like at
- 17:34Speaker 1: the wide receiver position or whatever whatever your call is,
- 17:38Speaker 1: and they're going to give you some value and you
- 17:40Speaker 1: can only go back four picks. You have six or
- 17:43Speaker 1: five or six guys in your board that you feel
- 17:44Speaker 1: comfortable with. Make that trade, do that deal. But you
- 17:48Speaker 1: know where's the partner because you know the quarterback did
- 17:52Speaker 1: go Love did go, you know, in the twenties to
- 17:56Speaker 1: the Green Bay Packs the twenty sixth overall pick. So
- 18:00Speaker 1: who is the person that is when everybody resets their awards,
- 18:05Speaker 1: like the Bengals are doing right now and trying to
- 18:07Speaker 1: decide what they're gonna do. They're gonna keep that pick
- 18:09Speaker 1: at thirty three or are they're gonna try to trade back?
- 18:12Speaker 1: And you know what kind of phone calls will they
- 18:14Speaker 1: be getting, if any. So it's going to be interesting
- 18:17Speaker 1: to see. So you ran off a bunch of names,
- 18:20Speaker 1: and I wrote down many of the same ones as
- 18:22Speaker 1: the highest rated players still available. I wrote down four
- 18:26Speaker 1: wide receivers t Higgins from Clemson, Denzel Mims from Baylor
- 18:31Speaker 1: who ran a four three eight at six three two
- 18:33Speaker 1: hundred and five pounds, Laviska Tionalt from Colorado, and Michael
- 18:37Speaker 1: Pittman from USC A couple of offensive linemans. You mentioned
- 18:40Speaker 1: Josh Jones six six out of Houston. There's also Ezra
- 18:44Speaker 1: Cleveland six six out of Boise State. Defensive ends Yetur
- 18:48Speaker 1: Gross Mattos from Penn State had nine and a half
- 18:51Speaker 1: sacks last year. Aj Epenessa from Iowa eleven and a
- 18:56Speaker 1: half sacks last year, ten and a half the year before,
- 18:58Speaker 1: but he ran a five point oh four at the combine.
- 19:01Speaker 1: That's kind of the knock on him. Zach Bonn outside linebackers,
- 19:06Speaker 1: slash edge rusher from Wisconsin. The cornerbacks include Jalen Johnson
- 19:12Speaker 1: from Utah and trey Von Diggs from Alabama, Stefan's younger brother.
- 19:18Speaker 1: And then you've got a defensive tackle who's frequently been
- 19:20Speaker 1: listed as a first round talent, Ross Blacklock from TCU
- 19:25Speaker 1: and Gallimore also from Oklahoma. I think, I think those
- 19:29Speaker 1: two defensive tackles have some value, you know, in the
- 19:33Speaker 1: in the early second round. So yeah, there's there's there's
- 19:36Speaker 1: you know, more than a handful of guys, and how
- 19:39Speaker 1: many of them, how far down the board did the
- 19:42Speaker 1: Bengals have some of these guys or did they have
- 19:44Speaker 1: some of them at the end of the first round,
- 19:46Speaker 1: because you know, let's face it, there's always surprise picks
- 19:50Speaker 1: in the first round, and this draft no exception. I mean,
- 19:54Speaker 1: I think people would would be surprised at this cornerback
- 19:58Speaker 1: from Auburn. Uh, it's been no Henny or whatever he went.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I mean that one I didn't I didn't have him
- 20:07Speaker 1: necessarily rated. Uh you know rated at that point. I
- 20:11Speaker 1: was surprised that Thomas went as early as he did.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I wasn't surprised he was the first round guy go
- 20:16Speaker 1: go number four in the draft to the New York Giants.
- 20:18Speaker 1: It's like, woof man, I you know, I think he's
- 20:20Speaker 1: a solid player, but um, you know, there's there's always
- 20:24Speaker 1: there's always a couple of a couple of draft picks
- 20:26Speaker 1: and and and done in different orders than people had.
- 20:29Speaker 1: I thought, you know, our net from from Ohio state.
- 20:33Speaker 1: For him to go as high as he did to
- 20:35Speaker 1: the Raiders was you know, was was pretty extraordinary. Rager
- 20:39Speaker 1: going to the Philadelphia Eagles, you know, I think probably
- 20:42Speaker 1: surprised some people. He you know, he goes ahead of Jefferson, um,
- 20:46Speaker 1: and you know, Murray sliding as far back as he slived,
- 20:50Speaker 1: you know, so there's always everybody always has different different
- 20:54Speaker 1: values on players. But you know, there there is I mean,
- 20:58Speaker 1: there's there's edge people, there's defensive tackles. The offensive tackle
- 21:02Speaker 1: position has picked over pretty well the best interior guy,
- 21:05Speaker 1: Louise went Um. You know, it's it's what do you
- 21:09Speaker 1: What do you think? I mean, I don't think you
- 21:11Speaker 1: go on a panic mode and say, all right, well
- 21:14Speaker 1: we're going to take somebody. We have rated more in
- 21:17Speaker 1: the late two early three, and honestly that's where I
- 21:20Speaker 1: have Bond. But when the run happens, you know, maybe
- 21:24Speaker 1: you say Jeans. You know, maybe we do take Bond
- 21:26Speaker 1: at thirty three. I think you can trade back and
- 21:29Speaker 1: still get Bond as well as trading back and still
- 21:31Speaker 1: get you know, Jones and a lot of these a
- 21:34Speaker 1: lot of these other guys. But you never know. But
- 21:36Speaker 1: if somebody says, all right, well I want to trade
- 21:38Speaker 1: up because I really have him evaluated. And I don't
- 21:41Speaker 1: know how the Bengals have evaluated how you know, on
- 21:44Speaker 1: their board. But if a team calls us and they're like,
- 21:48Speaker 1: we have to have Boom, whichever one of these players
- 21:51Speaker 1: we've talked about, it is you trade back and hopefully
- 21:54Speaker 1: they're not back so far. You certainly don't trade back
- 21:57Speaker 1: to the point where any of the five six seventy
- 22:00Speaker 1: eight people you're talking about, you don't trade out of
- 22:03Speaker 1: the four. You don't trade out in the thirties. You know,
- 22:05Speaker 1: once you get into the forties, it's a different ballgame.
- 22:08Speaker 1: You still stand in the thirties and picked up extra
- 22:11Speaker 1: draft picks. So I did a deep dive into the
- 22:14Speaker 1: point value chart today for if they trade back in
- 22:17Speaker 1: the second round, if they move back six picks, you're
- 22:21Speaker 1: looking at a fourth rounder, So a second rounder and
- 22:24Speaker 1: a fourth rounder. If the team has that combination, that's
- 22:26Speaker 1: trying to trade with you. Right, if you go back
- 22:30Speaker 1: like seven to thirteen, you can get into the bottom
- 22:33Speaker 1: of the third round with the extra pick. Then fourteen
- 22:37Speaker 1: to twenty, low twenties, you can get into the middle
- 22:41Speaker 1: of the third round. And then if the pick is
- 22:42Speaker 1: at the end of the second round that you're getting,
- 22:45Speaker 1: you could get a high third round pick to pair
- 22:48Speaker 1: with it. That's strictly based on the points chart, and
- 22:52Speaker 1: again the team the trading partner would have to have
- 22:55Speaker 1: that combination to make the points work. Otherwise, if the
- 22:58Speaker 1: second pick is one round, then you get another pick
- 23:01Speaker 1: thrown in as well. Yeah, and you know, you look
- 23:05Speaker 1: at it and you say, all right, well, that's why
- 23:09Speaker 1: when hit the hit the point with Brooks of Seattle,
- 23:13Speaker 1: Queen with Baltimore, and Wilson with Tennessee. Any one of
- 23:17Speaker 1: those three guys would have been great. And the Bengals
- 23:20Speaker 1: were at thirty three and we're talking you know, uh,
- 23:24Speaker 1: let's see, we're talking twenty five, twenty six and twenty
- 23:29Speaker 1: seven or something like that. I mean, they any all
- 23:33Speaker 1: those guys almost got to where no, we're thinking, any
- 23:36Speaker 1: one of those would be perfect to be super at
- 23:38Speaker 1: thirty three. So other people pulled the trigger on him.
- 23:42Speaker 1: But it's not like you were way out of the ballpark.
- 23:45Speaker 1: It's like, you know, you had him raided there, and
- 23:47Speaker 1: the others had him raided in the middle of the
- 23:49Speaker 1: first round or whatever the case may be. So so
- 23:52Speaker 1: I feel good about a lot of players we were
- 23:54Speaker 1: talked about went, you know, in the area, but none
- 23:57Speaker 1: of them slid. If any one of those three had
- 24:01Speaker 1: slid the thirty three boom, I think it would have
- 24:04Speaker 1: been a slam dunk. Pick them, take them whoever. I
- 24:07Speaker 1: can't believe Brooks went ahead a queen, that's a surprise
- 24:10Speaker 1: as well. But you know in Seattle, Seattle knows what
- 24:14Speaker 1: they're talking about. Seattle's historically had some pretty salty defenses.
- 24:18Speaker 1: And you know, Brooks has got a little bit of
- 24:20Speaker 1: a shoulder issue, a nagging shoulder problem, and I thought,
- 24:23Speaker 1: you know, in this era where you know you really
- 24:25Speaker 1: can't have you doctors put their own hands on them,
- 24:28Speaker 1: that you know, maybe he would slide a little bit
- 24:31Speaker 1: because he was starting to show up in a lot
- 24:33Speaker 1: of these mocked drafts and he's his tape is impressive. Now.
- 24:38Speaker 1: The dude impacts football games, but it's it's interesting to
- 24:42Speaker 1: me the queen slid as far as he did. That
- 24:44Speaker 1: was a little bit of surprise to me. I give
- 24:46Speaker 1: you credit for Jordan Brooks because I looked at eight
- 24:49Speaker 1: of what I would consider to be the most credible
- 24:52Speaker 1: mock drafts. First thing this morning, from the most prominent
- 24:55Speaker 1: draft experts, not a single one had Jordan Brooks list
- 25:00Speaker 1: as a first round pick. You had him on our
- 25:03Speaker 1: podcast yesterday is the first pick of the second round.
- 25:05Speaker 1: And sure enough, as we pointed out, he went twenty
- 25:08Speaker 1: seventh overall to Seattle. Yeah, they looked at it. You know,
- 25:11Speaker 1: six feet turning forty pounds, ran a four to five
- 25:14Speaker 1: three you know, ran like you know, a safety, a
- 25:18Speaker 1: fast safety, ran like a slow corner, you know. I
- 25:21Speaker 1: mean at that carrying that body weight with thirty four
- 25:25Speaker 1: thirty five inch arms, and I mean he impacted games now,
- 25:30Speaker 1: his contact ratio is huge. So and then Queen, he
- 25:37Speaker 1: can he can run LSU. LSU and Alabama, Man, those
- 25:43Speaker 1: two football teams they're gonna I'm sure. I'm sure it
- 25:47Speaker 1: was a big recruiting night for both of them, locking
- 25:49Speaker 1: up guys for not only this year, but years down
- 25:52Speaker 1: the road. And every time there's in an NFL draft
- 25:55Speaker 1: in LSU and Alabama started throwing a bunch of bodies
- 25:58Speaker 1: out there in the first round. That's good for the
- 26:00Speaker 1: overprooting process, no question. All right, If the Bengals don't
- 26:05Speaker 1: trade down at the top of the second round and
- 26:07Speaker 1: you have to make a pick, who is it? I mean,
- 26:10Speaker 1: I think I'd probably go with one of the receivers.
- 26:12Speaker 1: I'd probably take the highest rated receiver on the board
- 26:16Speaker 1: at that point in time that the Bengals you know have,
- 26:19Speaker 1: and uh, I'd probably I probably leaned toward, you know,
- 26:23Speaker 1: like a Shnal type guy. Um, I'd probably I'd probably
- 26:29Speaker 1: go in that direction, either that or you know Josh Jones,
- 26:33Speaker 1: if I'd say, all right, well he's not, he's not.
- 26:38Speaker 1: I don't think any of those guys, I think I
- 26:41Speaker 1: think all of them would still be on the board
- 26:43Speaker 1: past thirty three, or most of them. But if I
- 26:46Speaker 1: had to pick one, I'd either pick probably is a
- 26:48Speaker 1: lot of the offensive tackle um or I'd probably take
- 26:53Speaker 1: you know, the receiver um point. You know what I mean.
- 26:58Speaker 1: It's it's almost like a flip of the really because
- 27:02Speaker 1: one of those interior defensive tackles, one of those guys
- 27:06Speaker 1: that wouldn't hurt you either, honestly, But I guess i'd
- 27:10Speaker 1: probably I could probably either go I'd probably end up
- 27:15Speaker 1: I'd probably end up taking one of those receivers. Where
- 27:20Speaker 1: direction I go? How world about you? Well, since I
- 27:23Speaker 1: had said on the previous podcast Jalen Johnson from Utah,
- 27:26Speaker 1: I feel compelled to stick with him as my prediction.
- 27:30Speaker 1: But the guy that I now have kind of fallen
- 27:32Speaker 1: in love with and want is one of those wide receivers,
- 27:36Speaker 1: Denzel Mims. It's got the size six three two five,
- 27:40Speaker 1: four three eight. You know, we all get seduced by
- 27:43Speaker 1: great forty times when it comes to big, productive wide receivers.
- 27:47Speaker 1: I talked to the broadcaster at Baylor who said nothing
- 27:49Speaker 1: but great things about Denzel Mims. So I'm kind of
- 27:53Speaker 1: infatuated with a notice on the prospect of adding Denzel Mims.
- 27:58Speaker 1: But if I have to make the prediction, will stick
- 28:00Speaker 1: to my guns and go with Jalen Johnson. Yeah, and again,
- 28:04Speaker 1: I don't think, you know, either pick would be like,
- 28:08Speaker 1: oh man, that's that's a reach. That's a stretch, that's
- 28:10Speaker 1: a reach, you know. I mean, I think I think
- 28:13Speaker 1: that all the guys were talking about are in that range.
- 28:17Speaker 1: You know. That's why in a perfect world, if somebody
- 28:20Speaker 1: really has I gotta have this guy, and I gotta
- 28:24Speaker 1: trade up, and I gotta do it. If somebody said,
- 28:26Speaker 1: are you kidding me? Jones was a number one draft pick.
- 28:30Speaker 1: He was a first rounder. You know, he might have
- 28:32Speaker 1: been toward the back end of the first round, but
- 28:34Speaker 1: he's a first rounder and we are desperate. We we
- 28:37Speaker 1: gotta we got to take care of the right tackle position.
- 28:40Speaker 1: But like I said, you know, watching him, he's got
- 28:44Speaker 1: really good feet. You know, he's he's getting himself a
- 28:47Speaker 1: physician to make, you know, to block. So I mean,
- 28:50Speaker 1: his footwork over overcomes I think some of that short
- 28:54Speaker 1: arm deficiency, but poor That's the first thing I noticed was, Man,
- 28:58Speaker 1: he's got some short guns on him. There's no doubt.
- 29:00Speaker 1: All right, buddy, your day one duties are finished, get
- 29:03Speaker 1: some sleep, look forward to doing it again after round three,
- 29:07Speaker 1: and what's your coach? We'll post a similar conversation after
- 29:11Speaker 1: Friday night's draft coverage comes to an end. Last night,
- 29:16Speaker 1: I had the opportunity to interview the first quarterback selected
- 29:20Speaker 1: in the nineteen eighty four draft. Believe it or not,
- 29:23Speaker 1: that year, no quarterbacks were taken in the first round,
- 29:27Speaker 1: but the Bengals landed a great one at number thirty
- 29:30Speaker 1: eight overall. The pick is in, and now Joe Burrow
- 29:34Speaker 1: will try to do what Ken Anderson and our guest
- 29:37Speaker 1: Boomer as Siason did in leading the Bengals to the
- 29:39Speaker 1: Super Bowl someday. Boomer, when you were drafted, you had
- 29:42Speaker 1: a chip on your shoulder from lasting to the second route,
- 29:45Speaker 1: even though you were the first quarterback pick that year.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Joe Burrow doesn't have that chip being taken number one overall,
- 29:52Speaker 1: but he wasn't a highly touted recruit. He had to
- 29:54Speaker 1: transfer from Ohio State to LSU to get his opportunity
- 29:58Speaker 1: to play. Do you like his path to the NFL?
- 30:02Speaker 1: I do as a matter of fact. You know, he's
- 30:04Speaker 1: a kid who loves to play ball. He loves to
- 30:06Speaker 1: play football, and that's the most important thing at our position.
- 30:10Speaker 1: He's a smart kid. He learned under a pro style
- 30:12Speaker 1: offense down in LSU the last two years, and he
- 30:15Speaker 1: really flourished his past season. You know, I have mixed emotions.
- 30:18Speaker 1: I'm so happy for the Bengal fans, for the Bengals themselves,
- 30:23Speaker 1: for Athens, Ohio, everything that comes along with the first pick.
- 30:26Speaker 1: But I also haven't mixed the motion for Andy Dalton
- 30:28Speaker 1: because Andy Dalton gave nine great years to the Cincinnati Bengals,
- 30:31Speaker 1: unfortunately was unable to win a you know, a playoff game.
- 30:34Speaker 1: But you know, hopefully the Bengals will do him right
- 30:37Speaker 1: and don't do what they did to me held on
- 30:39Speaker 1: to me when David Klingler was drafted and I had
- 30:42Speaker 1: to sit through an entire year of that. Now, Andy,
- 30:44Speaker 1: he's going to be making sixteen million dollars if he
- 30:46Speaker 1: does that here, so I think that would probably you know,
- 30:49Speaker 1: take some of the edge off. But I just hope
- 30:51Speaker 1: they do the right thing by Andy and move him
- 30:53Speaker 1: out and let this become Joe Burrows team from day one,
- 30:56Speaker 1: because that's the way it has to be. I mean,
- 30:57Speaker 1: today's day and age, these athletes are so gifted and
- 31:02Speaker 1: want to be the guy in the locker room. And
- 31:04Speaker 1: I think that's what the Bengals have to do. Now.
- 31:06Speaker 1: They have to they have to move Andy Dalton. That's
- 31:08Speaker 1: got to make that's gotta be like Hardy number one.
- 31:10Speaker 1: But man, it's a great day for Cincinnati and for Athens,
- 31:13Speaker 1: Ohio and Southeastern Ohio, Southwestern Ohio. This should be something
- 31:17Speaker 1: that hopefully ten years from now we're talking about it.
- 31:20Speaker 1: We're talking about guy who's been in many Pro Bowls
- 31:23Speaker 1: and hopefully a couple of Super Bowls. What do you
- 31:26Speaker 1: think it means to the other guys in the locker
- 31:28Speaker 1: room to get a player coming up the greatest season
- 31:32Speaker 1: in college football history. I think it's great for them.
- 31:35Speaker 1: I think there's going to be definitely an uptick in
- 31:39Speaker 1: I think intensity. I would I would believe the amount
- 31:42Speaker 1: of money that they spent on defense and free agency
- 31:45Speaker 1: is gonna help. You know, maybe they'll go more offensive
- 31:48Speaker 1: players here in this draft. That's yet to be seen.
- 31:50Speaker 1: But when you have a significant personality, like when Andrew
- 31:53Speaker 1: luck first walked into the Colts locker room, when Peg
- 31:56Speaker 1: Manning first walked into the Colts locker room. Now all
- 31:59Speaker 1: of a sudden things, you know, Lamar Jackson walking into Baltimore,
- 32:02Speaker 1: Ben Roethlisberger walking into Pittsburgh, Aaron Rodgers when he finally
- 32:06Speaker 1: took over four, Brett Farr. But those are the personalities
- 32:10Speaker 1: that you want, and I think Joe Burrow definitely has
- 32:13Speaker 1: that personality. You know, he's He's got a bigger personality
- 32:17Speaker 1: than Carson Palmer, which is what I think this franchise
- 32:19Speaker 1: needs right now. What advice you have for him? The
- 32:23Speaker 1: easiest thing for me to say to him is just
- 32:26Speaker 1: try not to do it all yourself. You got a
- 32:28Speaker 1: lot of really good offensive players around you. Jonah Williams
- 32:31Speaker 1: will be back at left tackle, Joe mix and Giovanni Bernard.
- 32:35Speaker 1: You know, you got a j Green. You've got enough
- 32:37Speaker 1: talent around you that has had a lot of success
- 32:40Speaker 1: that their you know, their relative positions. Let them do
- 32:44Speaker 1: the heavy lifting. You just learn and study, and you
- 32:47Speaker 1: become very verbose in your offense and how you decide
- 32:51Speaker 1: and how you talk about defenses with Zach Taylor, and
- 32:54Speaker 1: you'll just be fine. It's not all going to come
- 32:56Speaker 1: in the first week. There's gonna be some growing pains
- 32:59Speaker 1: and you're just gonna have to deal with it, just
- 33:00Speaker 1: like the rest of us did. And then all of
- 33:02Speaker 1: a sudden that life will go off and you'll figure
- 33:04Speaker 1: it out, and then you'll truly become the great quarterback
- 33:07Speaker 1: that I think we all believe he will be as
- 33:09Speaker 1: much as any player in franchise history. You had swagger,
- 33:13Speaker 1: and your teammates sped off it. You see that quality
- 33:17Speaker 1: in Joe Burrow, I do. He gave an interview a
- 33:20Speaker 1: couple of weeks ago and talked about how he had
- 33:21Speaker 1: and lost at any level, and that's exactly what the
- 33:24Speaker 1: Bengals need. Not that Andy Dalton hasn't had a great
- 33:26Speaker 1: career in Cincinnati, he certainly has. You know, Joe burrows
- 33:30Speaker 1: situation at LSU reminds me a lot of my situation
- 33:32Speaker 1: in Maryland back in the eighties. When I first got there,
- 33:35Speaker 1: we were running the beer offense and it was not
- 33:39Speaker 1: good for a passing quarterback, if you will. And then
- 33:41Speaker 1: two years left in my career there, Bobby Ross came
- 33:43Speaker 1: in as the head coach and brought a pro style
- 33:45Speaker 1: offense and then all of a sudden accentuated me as
- 33:48Speaker 1: an athlete. And I think that's exactly what Joe Brady,
- 33:50Speaker 1: the offensive coordinator at LSU, did for Joe Burrow, and
- 33:54Speaker 1: we saw him put up numbers that we've never seen
- 33:57Speaker 1: any quarterback in the history of the college football. Does
- 34:00Speaker 1: I think the swaggers there. I certainly think the ability
- 34:03Speaker 1: is there, and I can't wait to see, you know,
- 34:05Speaker 1: him wearing a Cincinnati Bengal uniform. The day after Joe
- 34:08Speaker 1: Burrow won the Heisman Trophy, you had him on the
- 34:11Speaker 1: CBS pregame show, you welcomed him to the family, you
- 34:14Speaker 1: gave him a Bengals helmet. Did he make an impression
- 34:17Speaker 1: that day? He did, you know, much like Carson Palmer
- 34:20Speaker 1: did back. I think in two thousand and two, I
- 34:21Speaker 1: did the same thing to him, you know, And I
- 34:24Speaker 1: always said what I was telling Joe that day, said, Joe,
- 34:27Speaker 1: you know, Cincinnati's not a place for quarterbacks to go
- 34:29Speaker 1: and die. As a matter of fact, quarterbacks flourished in Cincinnati.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I did, Kenny Anderson did, Andy Dalton did, and so
- 34:35Speaker 1: did Carson Palmer. So whatever negativity you're hearing about the franchise.
- 34:39Speaker 1: I think it's more perception than reality. I mean, it's
- 34:42Speaker 1: a good place for quarterbacks to play, and quarterbacks have
- 34:45Speaker 1: been very successful here, and even after nine years, Andy
- 34:48Speaker 1: Dalton's had a really good career there in Cincinnati. And
- 34:51Speaker 1: you know when you change coaches and now all of
- 34:53Speaker 1: a sudden, you know it's going to have a negative effect,
- 34:56Speaker 1: especially on the quarterback. And I think that's really what's
- 34:58Speaker 1: happened to Andy. So now Zach Taylor is going to
- 35:01Speaker 1: get his guy, and I think it's going to be
- 35:02Speaker 1: a good match. It's a young head coach with a young,
- 35:05Speaker 1: up and coming quarterback who is certainly physically as gifted
- 35:09Speaker 1: as any quarterback Cincinnati's ever had. Get to remember, he
- 35:12Speaker 1: was an All State point guard in Athens, and that
- 35:14Speaker 1: tells me all I need to know about how he
- 35:17Speaker 1: knows how to facilitate, how he sees the court, how
- 35:19Speaker 1: he sees the field, and that's the way that he
- 35:22Speaker 1: played at LSU and that's the way I would expect
- 35:24Speaker 1: him to play from day one when against the Cincinnati
- 35:27Speaker 1: If there's a knock, it's that he doesn't have a cannon.
- 35:31Speaker 1: He doesn't have a John Elway or Patrick Mahomes arm.
- 35:34Speaker 1: How significant is that? Well? What about my arm? Dan?
- 35:39Speaker 1: Was my arm okay back in the day? Not bad? Yeah,
- 35:42Speaker 1: you know what, Kenny Anderson had a really I would say,
- 35:46Speaker 1: if you want to talk about it on a level
- 35:47Speaker 1: of strong to extra strong, Kenny had a strong arm.
- 35:51Speaker 1: But what really separates quarterback is their accuracy and how
- 35:55Speaker 1: they move in the pocket and how they create extra
- 35:58Speaker 1: space for themselves. Joe's athletic enough to do that. He
- 36:01Speaker 1: didn't have to do it as much as a La Shoo,
- 36:04Speaker 1: maybe as maybe Josh Allen had to do it at
- 36:06Speaker 1: Wyoming where he was running for his life every game.
- 36:09Speaker 1: But I think his arm is more than strong enough,
- 36:11Speaker 1: and it'll be all predicated on timing and accuracy anyway.
- 36:15Speaker 1: Joe Montana, one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time,
- 36:18Speaker 1: was one of the most accurate quarterbacks, didn't have the
- 36:20Speaker 1: strongest of arm. I could said the same thing about
- 36:22Speaker 1: Troy Aikman, So I would put this kind of ability
- 36:26Speaker 1: arm ability in that category. Now, whether or not he
- 36:28Speaker 1: turns into a Hall of Fame player, only time will tell.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Thanks to the great boomer Assiah Sin and that's going
