- 0:05My name is mateo and I would like to share my experience with beings.
- 0:09I don' t know if they were ghosts or some demonic creature. I
- 0:13' ve spent a lot of time trying to convince myself that I imagined everything.
- 0:17I' ve still gone with no number of psychologists to try to calm
- 0:21this guilt that eats me to this day. But I think the first step
- 0:24is to accept the facts. When this story happened, I was only fifteen
- 0:30years old and lived with my mother and two brothers under eight, Samante Samuel,
- 0:35the Twins, as we used to call them. Our life wasn'
- 0:41t perfect, but I couldn' t say it was the worst either.
- 0:44Mom was a nurse and spent most of her days in the hospital working hard
- 0:49to keep our home. So, out of need and lack of resources to
- 0:55hire someone. Like many older brothers, I became their primary care. We
- 1:02lived in the city, in a small two- bedroom apartment. I shared
- 1:06my room with the twins, which was sometimes a real challenge, because they
- 1:11were children and, for obvious reasons, they behaved like such, but in
- 1:15short they slept in a bunk bed, in one corner and I in the
- 1:19other corner, in a single bed, so most of the time I could
- 1:23get a little peace by putting on hearing aids and pretending that no one was
- 1:29there. Despite everything I worked for, my mom always tried to stay on
- 1:34the lookout as far as possible. She always wanted us to be clean and
- 1:40do the homework, and if you had a problem, you always knew she
- 1:44wasn' t tired enough to listen to you and on her break and her
- 1:49annual vacation she always tried to give us some of that time. And proof
- 1:56of that was something that we were looking forward to every year with our family
- 2:00glasses. During our summer vacation, Mom took us out of town to a
- 2:06camping area near a beautiful forest. It was our chance to escape the routine
- 2:12and enjoy a time together in nature. I really liked it, since in
- 2:19that place, over the years I had made friends who lived nearby and,
- 2:22usually, Mom let me be with them a full day of the three we
- 2:25were there However, in our last camp something happened to us that not only
- 2:31marked our little family forever, but it was also the reason we never went
- 2:37back to camp. And in my case, I' ve never dared to
- 2:42get close again to areas, woods or places with a lot of vegetation,
- 2:46even though at that time I liked them very much. But now I think
- 2:50no one knows what kind of horrors can be hidden in those places. Our
- 2:54last getaway began with a heavy road trip to a new place. Mom had
- 3:00heard about this camp area through a patient of hers, who had strongly recommended
- 3:05it. He said it was beautiful and cheaper than our previous location, which
- 3:13made me a little upset about not going to the usual place, but Mom
- 3:16told me that I could be new friends there. The journey itself turned out
- 3:22to be particularly annoying. We' ve never traveled this far before and the
- 3:27twins got very restless in the car. They were a real pain in the
- 3:31ass the whole trip. When we finally got to the place, we were
- 3:37exhausted. Mom and I started setting up the tents and I was grateful to
- 3:43have my own. The twins would share the other tent with my mom.
- 3:47The first afternoon passed peacefully and we played some board games. We read a
- 3:53book in front of the campfire and we whip up marshmallows. When it came
- 3:58time to sleep, I was exhausted and fell deeply asleep in my tent in
- 4:02a short time. However, that first night, my dream was interrupted by
- 4:08something disturbing between dreams. I began to hear whispers, although as time passed
- 4:14they became clearer. I began to hear strange voices. They were voices that
- 4:21seemed to belong to people I knew, but I could not clearly identify.
- 4:27I woke up startled, but at that moment all the whispers stopped abruptly,
- 4:32leaving me in silence. Gravel my heart was pounding as it was done in
- 4:38my tent trying to understand what had happened. The sound of the wind in
- 4:44the trees and crickets in the distance filled the air. I wondered if I
- 4:48had imagined those voices or whether they were simply echoes of the sounds of the
- 4:53forest. Over time, fatigue and confusion brought me back to sleep, though
- 4:57my disturbing thoughts and nan did not completely abandon me. The next morning,
- 5:03when I left my tent via Mom preparing breakfast at the campfire, he asked
- 5:09me to go wake up the twins and tell them it was time for breakfast.
- 5:14However, when I opened the tent where they were supposed to be,
- 5:16I found out they weren' t there. I turned to the bathroom area,
- 5:21but I didn' t see them there either. Without much thought,
- 5:26I started looking for them in the camping area, because since they were five
- 5:30years old they were leaving the tent to play or explore, but they never
- 5:34went too far I walked for a few minutes, but they didn' t
- 5:40seem to be anywhere. I called them by their names several times without getting
- 5:44an answer. I was about to come back and tell Mom I couldn'
- 5:47t find them. When the VIs my brothers were sitting right on the edge
- 5:53of the camping area, right where the camp ended and the thick forest started,
- 5:59I quickly approached them and told them that they could not be there,
- 6:02that it was not our area and that they should not approach the forest either.
- 6:08At that moment, the twins looked at me with a big smile of
- 6:13amazement and Samanta pointed towards the forest, pulling her finger out by one of
- 6:16the rhombuses of the fence that divided the forest from the camping area. Mira
- 6:21mateo said in a quiet voice, but slightly excited. There are children there,
- 6:28children who look like us. I leaned to look closer, but I
- 6:32didn' t see anything in the woods, except some bushes moving in a
- 6:36strange way. I mean, it didn' t seem like a simple breeze
- 6:42could move them that way, but I thought they might be animals like squirrels,
- 6:47lizards or birds. So I told them to stop inventing things and to
- 6:51grudgingly eat breakfast. They accepted and we went back to camp. During breakfast,
- 6:59the twins continued to insist that they had seen children identical to them in
- 7:03the forest and that they had even been told they wanted to play with them.
- 7:09Every time they mentioned this, a sense of discomfort grew inside me.
- 7:14I didn' t know why? But every time I remember that day I
- 7:16can' t help but realize how uncomfortable I felt at the time. I
- 7:20told them to stop making up stories, but Mom, in an attempt to
- 7:26keep their spirit cheerful, told them that if those kids wanted to join us
- 7:30for dinner, they could do it. After breakfast, the twins asked permission
- 7:36to go to the playground, where there were swings and slides. Mom told
- 7:42them they could go and then asked me if I could go with them to
- 7:46take care of them. While she was shopping at the supermarket outside the camping
- 7:48area, since someone had stolen our food at night and we didn' t
- 7:54have enough for the days we were missing. At first I wasn' t
- 8:01very excited about the idea of continuing to care for the twins, but I
- 8:05finally accepted knowing that I didn' t have many options. While the twins
- 8:09were playing, I sat on one of the benches with a book, just
- 8:13looking up from time to time to make sure they were okay. That'
- 8:18s when a girl sat next to me. He had dark hair and penetrating
- 8:24eyes. He smiled at me and started talking to me, inviting me to
- 8:30join a small meeting that some guys were organizing later. Intrigued, I told
- 8:35her I' d like to join, even though I had to ask my
- 8:39mom' s permission, so that girl passed me her number and told me
- 8:43to let her know. That' s how they let me go. At
- 8:45that moment I felt very excited to go to that party However, that feeling
- 8:50lasted very little, because when I looked back at the swings, I realized
- 8:56that the twins were no longer there. I got up fast and looked them
- 9:01up in the slides and in the play area, but I couldn' t
- 9:05find them anywhere. I spent almost an hour searching frantically for them. Before
- 9:09I accepted that the twins were no longer in the camping area, I went
- 9:13to get help from the local guards, but they didn' t seem to
- 9:18take it seriously. They insisted that the twins should be on the slides and
- 9:22that there was no reason to worry. Frustrated, I insisted that I had
- 9:26looked everywhere for them and that they were definitely no longer in the place.
- 9:33Finally, Mom came back from the supermarket and I approached her with worried eyes.
- 9:37I explained to him what had happened and his face panicked. He immediately
- 9:43turned to the rangers and demanded that they look for their children. Right away.
- 9:48The rangers reluctantly agreed and began searching in the camping area, but,
- 9:54as I said, they were acting as if they were not far away and
- 9:58that only the Sons were wasting their time. However, time passed and the
- 10:05rangers began to take it more seriously and even came to the conclusion that somehow
- 10:09they had managed to climb it nearby and had entered the forest, so a
- 10:13group of volunteers began to look for them. However, very soon the night
- 10:22fell and the rangers said that there was no point in continuing to search in
- 10:26the dark and that they would resume the search as soon as dawn. The
- 10:31anguish gripped us in the face of that news. Knowing that my brothers would
- 10:35spend the night in the woods was terrifying. I remember my mom being desperate
- 10:41and screaming demanding that they keep searching until they found their children. And while
- 10:46the rangers were trying to stop my mom from entering the forest on her own,
- 10:52we saw something that left us speechless. From the thick forest came the
- 10:56twins walking on their own. Their faces were illuminated by smiles and barefoot,
- 11:03but they were fine. They came back to us as if nothing had happened,
- 11:09as if their disappearance had been just a bad dream. We all ran
- 11:15to the twins. When we saw them coming out of the woods, Mom
- 11:18was crying for relief as she hugged them and kissed them all over the face,
- 11:24thanking God for allowing us to see the safe and sound once again.
- 11:28However, something at the scene made me uncomfortable. Despite the joy and relief
- 11:33he should have felt, he could not help but have a disturbing feeling.
- 11:39The twins kept smiling without blinking. His smile seemed to be forced and a
- 11:45chill ran through my back when both of them turned to see me at the
- 11:50same time without stopping smiling, but when they saw that I was scared,
- 11:54they both turned their eyes to the front. When the twins finally blinked again
- 11:58and behaved more normally, we were relieved. The paramedics looked at them almost
- 12:05immediately and told us that, apart from a slight dehydration, they seemed in
- 12:09good condition, which was strange considering that they had only had breakfast that day,
- 12:16Mom made the decision to return home at Dawn, even though there was
- 12:20one night left in the camp. It was obvious to me that something had
- 12:26changed in the twins. Since that morning we noticed that the twins were no
- 12:31longer the same. While we were on our way on the road, we
- 12:37noticed that the two of us were extremely quiet and retired. They did not
- 12:41play as they used to and spoke quietly, often whispering among themselves. When
- 12:48we asked them about their experience in the forest, they seemed confused and wandered.
- 12:52They said that they had come in chasing a butterfly that was very pretty
- 12:56and when they lost sight of it, they realized that they no longer knew
- 13:01how to return and then only followed the lights of the lanterns to return to
- 13:05the camp. But when we asked them how they had crossed the fence or
- 13:11how they had lost their shoes without having a single foot wound, they simply
- 13:16exchanged serious looks for a few seconds and shrugged. Strange started since we entered
- 13:22the apartment. They were both frightened when they saw our cat, which we
- 13:28had before they were born, and they loved it. So do I.
- 13:31The cat stood up when he saw them and ran to another room the next
- 13:37morning. Like my mom already had the day off. She fell asleep late,
- 13:41as she normally did. Whenever I rested. I went to the kitchen
- 13:46to serve me some cereal and as I walked over there, I heard the
- 13:50TV was on. That was not strange, since the twins used to get
- 13:56up early and take over the TV to watch their caricatures. The closer I
- 14:01got, I realized that they weren' t watching cartoons, but a slightly
- 14:07loud movie. I don' t know if anyone' s seen her,
- 14:11but they were watching the fly movie for those who haven' t seen her.
- 14:15It' s basically from a man who, through a failed experiment,
- 14:18begins to become a kind of a hybrid between fly and human. I know
- 14:22it doesn' t sound so bad but it' s a little graphic and
- 14:28it' s not something a child should see. But that wasn' t
- 14:31the worst, but they both watched TV without blinking and repeated every dialogue as
- 14:37if they were learning new words. I was about to tell you something when
- 14:41I noticed that on the table in the room were two plates of cereal,
- 14:46only these were watered all over the table and there was milk on the mat
- 14:52in the room. That was strange, since even though they were kids,
- 14:56we all tried to keep the house clean so we wouldn' t give our
- 15:01mom a lot of work, so they didn' t usually do that kind
- 15:05of thing. I told them to stop watching that and clean everything up before
- 15:07Mom woke up or was gonna get mad. And after that I turned off
- 15:13their TV and went back to my room to watch videos. A little later,
- 15:18when I left to check whether the twins had cleaned up the mess they
- 15:22had caused in the room, I was puzzled when I found them doing something
- 15:28completely strange. Samantha was licking the carpet soaked with spilled milk, while Samuel
- 15:33ate the cereal from the ground without using his hands as if they were wild
- 15:39animals. Their faces showed a strange and gloomy smile, as they shared childish
- 15:46looks and laughter that in that context seemed disturbing. I asked them to stop,
- 15:52worried they might get sick, but they didn' t seem to listen
- 15:56to me. When Mom left her room and didn' t see them,
- 16:00she got angry and asked them why they were acting that way. The twins,
- 16:04in a synchronized act, pointed to me and claimed that I had told
- 16:08them to do so. Mom looked at me furiously and I tried to explain
- 16:14that I had only asked them to clean up, but not in that way
- 16:18and since she didn' t know who to believe she decided to give little
- 16:22importance to the matter, but she warned them not to do it again.
- 16:26That strange conduct was not the only disturbing event. During the nights I felt
- 16:32the twins watching me from their bunk beds as if they were waiting for me
- 16:37to fall deep asleep. At first I tried to ignore it, thinking it
- 16:42was just my own baseless paranoias. However, after several nights, the sensation
- 16:48became stronger on the fifth night, when I felt they were looking at me
- 16:52more intensely, I decided to turn towards their bunk beds. What I saw
- 16:57left me breathless the twins were looking at me with eyes that seemed to have
- 17:02an artificial blue glow. There was no light source in the room that could
- 17:07justify that glow. When they realized that he had discovered them, they quickly
- 17:12closed their eyes. After seeing that during that night I couldn' t sleep
- 17:18because of fear. It was around three in the morning. When my brothers
- 17:23got up from their bunk beds, I pretended to be asleep, but I
- 17:29opened my eyes from time to time to spy on what they were doing.
- 17:32The room was dim, but I managed to see the twins moving in a
- 17:36strange way. They were walking on all fours giving little jumps while laughing as
- 17:44if they were playing. However, I knew that something was very wrong,
- 17:48as my brothers had never acted like this. Before. Then the twins stood
- 17:53up and opened the door to get out of the room. I couldn'
- 17:57t stay any longer pretending to sleep and running to Mom' s room to
- 18:03tell her what I had seen at first. Mom tried to downplay the matter
- 18:07by suggesting that the twins were playing, but I knew something wasn' t
- 18:14right, especially at that time of dawn. Finally, when my mom realized
- 18:18what time it was, she decided to get up and talk to the twins
- 18:23as we headed to the room where it was heard that the children were both
- 18:29there. We feel a sense of restlessness in the air. By lighting the
- 18:33light we were horrified to see those who we thought were my brothers chewing on
- 18:38the family cat who was already dead. A cry of horror escaped from Mom
- 18:42' s mouth. As we watched the scene, those children, or whatever
- 18:48those things were, turned to look at us and their eyes shone with an
- 18:52unnatural glow at once. Both children began to growl as if they were seeing
- 19:00wild beasts. Then they ran out of the apartment at an amazing speed.
- 19:06Mom tried to chase them, but the children disappeared in the darkness of the
- 19:11night, at a speed that no adult could match. Desperate, my mother
- 19:15submitted a report to the police the next day. But, as often happens
- 19:21in these cases, we did not get significant results. We never knew they
- 19:26were or what happened to my real brothers. But every night I pray that
- 19:32they have not suffered and that they are in a better place. Anonymous account
