- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an unspoiled network podcast. This is spoil Me
- 0:08Speaker 1: covering one piece the live action Netflix series, Season two,
- 0:17Speaker 1: episode five, wax On wax Off. In this episode, we
- 0:27Speaker 1: get mister three and his bizarre fucking birthday cake thingy
- 0:34Speaker 1: and body doubles, and it ends with not me getting sick,
- 0:39Speaker 1: which I had forgotten. This was how this whole thing began.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Welcome to spoil Me. Welcome to the show everyone. I
- 1:05Speaker 1: am Natasha. Thank you very much to Bernadette and Florian
- 1:10Speaker 1: for commissioning this episode. Oh good, And Nehua is in
- 1:15Speaker 1: the chat as well as Bernadette and Florian and says,
- 1:18Speaker 1: I am saying their name correctly? Yea. I always want
- 1:22Speaker 1: to check and sometimes, you guys, I'm real bad about
- 1:25Speaker 1: remembering names, but if I have it right in front
- 1:30Speaker 1: of me, I want to at least say it right.
- 1:31Speaker 1: And you know, sometimes my American brain makes sounds happen
- 1:37Speaker 1: that the receiving party is like, what, why would you
- 1:41Speaker 1: ever pronounce it that way? So I started off the
- 1:49Speaker 1: last episode just talking about how much I dislike mister
- 1:53Speaker 1: three and I think he's a great villain, to be clear,
- 1:58Speaker 1: but yeah, he sucks. And wow, this episode just really
- 2:02Speaker 1: fucking nailed it, and I am I had forgotten. I
- 2:09Speaker 1: had forgotten how little Sanji does in regard to the
- 2:15Speaker 1: rest of the crew. It's not that he's not fucking
- 2:19Speaker 1: instrumental with certain things, but it's all separate alone. And
- 2:25Speaker 1: you know, I think I remember when I was covering
- 2:27Speaker 1: this arc with the anime, kind of like expecting him
- 2:32Speaker 1: to be the guy, and I just it's just really fun, guys,
- 2:39Speaker 1: going back to these stories this way. I'm having a
- 2:41Speaker 1: great time. So to start off, I'm just gonna talk
- 2:48Speaker 1: about Sanji's whole arc here because I feel like since
- 2:53Speaker 1: he is apart from the entire crew right up until
- 2:56Speaker 1: the end, that'll be fine, right, Like, So we have
- 3:00Speaker 1: Sanji beginning to realize like nobody has come back to
- 3:04Speaker 1: the ship. He hasn't heard anyone talking, and he's just
- 3:09Speaker 1: sort of like, what exactly has happened to everyone? So
- 3:15Speaker 1: he goes looking and he comes across the spooky white
- 3:20Speaker 1: wax house. Forgive me, guys who are watching on video,
- 3:23Speaker 1: I don't know what's happening. But just as I start recording,
- 3:26Speaker 1: my eyes just begin to burn, as if I am
- 3:28Speaker 1: cutting onions. And it is not me being emotional over
- 3:31Speaker 1: Sanji in this wax house, I swear or is it?
- 3:37Speaker 1: I do love love his take on this as he's
- 3:42Speaker 1: looking around and he says, chains red wine, whole load
- 3:47Speaker 1: of candle wax. Somebody had a good time in here,
- 3:54Speaker 1: you know what. I was sort of like wondering exactly
- 3:59Speaker 1: how they were going to handle soanjy in his flirtiness
- 4:02Speaker 1: and what they It seems like the way they've pivoted,
- 4:05Speaker 1: instead of having him be like a fucking sexual harasser,
- 4:09Speaker 1: they've kind of made him a Samantha a little bit.
- 4:13Speaker 1: You know. He makes like sex jokes and just keeps
- 4:19Speaker 1: sort of orienting conversations in that direction or be thinking
- 4:23Speaker 1: in that way. And there are certain ways that that
- 4:27Speaker 1: can also still be very sexual harassing. Don't get me wrong,
- 4:30Speaker 1: but I feel like that's actually a quite clever way
- 4:34Speaker 1: to do it, because like that's not really how Sonji
- 4:37Speaker 1: was in the anime. Ever. He he didn't really make
- 4:40Speaker 1: sex jokes. He just said I want to see her
- 4:46Speaker 1: naked really bad. I want to spy on her in
- 4:50Speaker 1: the shower. He would just say it, so instead of
- 4:53Speaker 1: like figuring, well we'll stick with that, but you know,
- 4:59Speaker 1: have him there's a weird combination of him being like
- 5:04Speaker 1: a complete creep and then really I don't want to
- 5:08Speaker 1: say innocent, but there's a sort of like ingenuousness to him.
- 5:14Speaker 1: That was a very odd combo. So they've decided, I think,
- 5:19Speaker 1: to get rid of the ingenuousness and have him be
- 5:21Speaker 1: more knowing, experienced, suave guy. And I think this is
- 5:28Speaker 1: developing quite nicely. I'm liking it. And it's also like,
- 5:33Speaker 1: when I say developing, they didn't really have him doing
- 5:36Speaker 1: these sorts of jokes in the first season that much.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I don't remember that anyway, So it feels like it's
- 5:42Speaker 1: something that they are beginning to introduce as we get
- 5:44Speaker 1: to know him, which I think is really smart, because
- 5:47Speaker 1: if you come at this too hard with sex jokes initially,
- 5:49Speaker 1: he's going to turn you off as a character. But
- 5:53Speaker 1: if you get to know him and then he begins
- 5:54Speaker 1: to slip these sorts of jokes in, you've already gotten
- 5:58Speaker 1: attached to him, and then you start to be like, ah,
- 6:00Speaker 1: and you're much more like good natured about it, you
- 6:03Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Bernardet says live action Sanji is
- 6:09Speaker 1: really great, still horny, but not molesty. Also, Taz Skuyler,
- 6:13Speaker 1: the actor is insanely gorgeous and therefore nice to look at.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I mean, not Zoro's level of attractive, but still appreciated. Yeah,
- 6:21Speaker 1: it's a he's got the riz. Zoro is just take
- 6:27Speaker 1: a photo and you're like, my god. And he definitely
- 6:30Speaker 1: has his own charisma as well, for sure. But Sanji
- 6:36Speaker 1: is a guy that speaks to my heart with the
- 6:39Speaker 1: with the sense of humor. I really need a guy
- 6:42Speaker 1: that is funny. I just can't tolerate a serious man,
- 6:46Speaker 1: and Zoro is extremely serious. It just wouldn't work. It
- 6:49Speaker 1: just wouldn't work, or or would it. I don't know.
- 6:53Speaker 1: I don't think it would, but I'm willing to give
- 6:55Speaker 1: it a shot. I'm just saying anyway, I did see
- 6:59Speaker 1: in an interview you, uh what Taz is his name?
- 7:03Speaker 1: Just begin like speaking Spanish with lufy. He apparently speaks
- 7:08Speaker 1: like a few languages, and I was just like, my god,
- 7:11Speaker 1: is that so attractive. It's just slipping into a totally
- 7:14Speaker 1: fluent you can see, you know, like ugh, jealous, so uh,
- 7:21Speaker 1: Bernadette says mckenn you also plays Zoro as a hymnbo,
- 7:24Speaker 1: which I never considered. But it is hilarious, That's true.
- 7:27Speaker 1: It doesn't come out like that often, but when it does,
- 7:31Speaker 1: it's a pretty great play. They're just getting a lot
- 7:36Speaker 1: more opportunity on the live action to give these characters dimension,
- 7:41Speaker 1: and I, for one fully root for this. So, oh,
- 7:46Speaker 1: Candace is here. Hi, Candace. I was just thinking I
- 7:48Speaker 1: should have texted Candace and I forgot. I'm glad you're here.
- 7:51Speaker 1: So we get Sanji looking around and the way that
- 7:56Speaker 1: he enters this house reminder we haven't seen that everybody
- 8:02Speaker 1: has been removed yet and brought to this other location,
- 8:06Speaker 1: so I am thinking maybe they're still in there. I
- 8:09Speaker 1: couldn't remember how this went. And he blessed it open
- 8:12Speaker 1: and it's just the chains and they are gone. So
- 8:17Speaker 1: he begins to sort of poke around. It is amazing, guys.
- 8:21Speaker 1: He finds a bunch of files and when he pulls
- 8:29Speaker 1: them out of the drawer, it is the best He
- 8:34Speaker 1: first one he opens is Zoro's and he literally just
- 8:38Speaker 1: is like and just chucks it. Oh god, oh no, sorry,
- 8:46Speaker 1: first one's loopy, but then Zora and he just checks
- 8:49Speaker 1: that one. Uh one for Nami, and I think who's
- 8:53Speaker 1: the last one? Is uh yeah, it's Vivi and is
- 8:58Speaker 1: a little offended that there's no him, and there's no
- 9:01Speaker 1: folder for oosop, you know. But they haven't really broken
- 9:07Speaker 1: laws yet, or at least haven't been caught, so I
- 9:10Speaker 1: guess it makes sense that maybe they're not as notorious.
- 9:16Speaker 1: So he's just about to leave. And by the way, guys,
- 9:19Speaker 1: he is wearing a shirt that has what can only
- 9:22Speaker 1: be described as like a Warshak test on it. I
- 9:25Speaker 1: do not know what's going on with this shirt. I
- 9:27Speaker 1: am assuming anytime, because like it's not infrequent that in
- 9:34Speaker 1: the live action the characters have shirts with words or
- 9:38Speaker 1: really bold illustrations in the same way as in the anime.
- 9:43Speaker 1: And so my assumption is this is referencing something that
- 9:46Speaker 1: he wore in the anime very specifically, but I just
- 9:49Speaker 1: cannot recall. It's just such a weird look because when
- 9:54Speaker 1: I picture Sanja, I picture him in a suit immediately,
- 9:57Speaker 1: and they really haven't gone for that look with him.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Him very much. He has been for the most part,
- 10:03Speaker 1: except for the notable Henley in episode two, he has
- 10:08Speaker 1: been pretty put together, but he hasn't had that sort
- 10:11Speaker 1: of formal look. So uh. NoHo says all their clos
- 10:17Speaker 1: are sourced from color spreads tied to each of the
- 10:20Speaker 1: arcs basically cover images Oda drew during each of the arcs.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Oh cover, So what is this? Because it's like, it's
- 10:29Speaker 1: very impressionist. So I'm I don't I'm curious about. I'm
- 10:32Speaker 1: sure there's some source somewhere that gives you a whole
- 10:34Speaker 1: spreadsheet about it. So as he's leaving, we get the
- 10:39Speaker 1: transponder snail ringing, and I just want to mention that
- 10:44Speaker 1: in the subtitles it says or captions. I guess it
- 10:49Speaker 1: says Den Den Mushi ringing, which I know that this
- 10:52Speaker 1: is a transponder snail, but I do wonder what people
- 10:55Speaker 1: who are like coming to this when they read that,
- 10:58Speaker 1: they're like what? And he picks this up, and I
- 11:03Speaker 1: was sort of like, okay. I recall that he manages
- 11:07Speaker 1: to convince whoever is on the line that he is
- 11:11Speaker 1: mister three. I couldn't remember exactly how he did it.
- 11:17Speaker 1: And it turns out that it's a voice modulator that
- 11:21Speaker 1: is meant to camouflage his voice and mister zero's voice,
- 11:29Speaker 1: and I oh good. Florian says there are videos that
- 11:33Speaker 1: talk about the looks can send you that once you're
- 11:35Speaker 1: finished one hundred percent, yes please, So he uh lies
- 11:41Speaker 1: to miss He assumes it's mister Zero and takes a
- 11:44Speaker 1: bit of a leap there in saying so, and assures
- 11:50Speaker 1: him that all of the straw hats are dead, lying
- 11:54Speaker 1: in pools of their own blood as we speak. And
- 11:57Speaker 1: then mister Zero says something about, uh, I have have
- 12:04Speaker 1: sent out what do you call it? Uh, the unluckies
- 12:12Speaker 1: to verify and to clean up the mess. They should
- 12:16Speaker 1: be arriving as we speak. And I should warn you
- 12:20Speaker 1: Miss Friday hasn't eaten in a while, not since that
- 12:24Speaker 1: unfortunate incident at the orphanage? Guys? Is this is this
- 12:30Speaker 1: from the anime? I don't remember this at all? Is
- 12:37Speaker 1: am I meant to think that this otter eight children?
- 12:43Speaker 1: Is that it? Or is? Wait? Is Miss Friday? Honest
- 12:47Speaker 1: thinking Miss Friday is the otter? But is Miss Friday
- 12:50Speaker 1: the bird? Okay? So you guys this Uh? I cannot
- 13:02Speaker 1: tell you what it is like watching the show sitting
- 13:05Speaker 1: next to my husband sometimes because I like remember this
- 13:11Speaker 1: pairing and I just didn't. I remember when I first
- 13:15Speaker 1: watched it, just being like what the fuck is going on?
- 13:20Speaker 1: And truthfully, coming back to it, it's still insane because
- 13:25Speaker 1: this isn't something that we see often in the anime
- 13:29Speaker 1: at Large, we have people who are animalish but they
- 13:34Speaker 1: are not actually animals. And this otter is like not
- 13:39Speaker 1: human sized otter, Like it's an otter. It's a fucking
- 13:44Speaker 1: otter size slightly larger but like you know, small, riding
- 13:52Speaker 1: on a bird that's also a normal size, and they
- 13:54Speaker 1: just happen to like be assassins that are like on
- 13:57Speaker 1: the payroll. It's so funny because like I see this,
- 14:02Speaker 1: and I even after having encountered this, I'm going, oh, yeah,
- 14:06Speaker 1: this is weird. And meanwhile my husband is like what
- 14:14Speaker 1: what what the fuck? What is what? And I am
- 14:20Speaker 1: losing my shit. It is there is no way to
- 14:23Speaker 1: like explain this at all. There's nothing to say, you know,
- 14:28Speaker 1: it's just like, yeah, this is the thing that happens,
- 14:30Speaker 1: and it almost nothing like this ever occurs even remotely.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Ever again, I don't know, I don't know what to
- 14:37Speaker 1: say to you. It's not like maybe eventually I will
- 14:40Speaker 1: get to something way later on where I'm like, oh,
- 14:43Speaker 1: here we go, here's it, but not so far that
- 14:46Speaker 1: I recall. So yeah, it is a uh, a real
- 14:53Speaker 1: weird sequence. And so what happens is he gets this
- 14:59Speaker 1: phone call or he here's this from mister Zero. Immediately
- 15:02Speaker 1: it's like, can you just hold on a second, goes outside,
- 15:07Speaker 1: just in time to see thirteen and miss Friday coming
- 15:12Speaker 1: at him with fucking like gatling guns, And it's extremely
- 15:19Speaker 1: funny to me that he said, oh, yeah, they're all
- 15:22Speaker 1: in a pool of their own blood. Mister Zero's like
- 15:25Speaker 1: they're coming to confirm and do cleanup, which I'm assuming
- 15:28Speaker 1: clean up means they will eat the bodies. I don't know.
- 15:33Speaker 1: And then this like just opening with the fucking like
- 15:39Speaker 1: got these guns immediately at the sight of him, No questions,
- 15:45Speaker 1: no nothing, which why would you why would you question?
- 15:49Speaker 1: It's a straw hat, it's an enemy. But like, I
- 15:54Speaker 1: just find it funny that there's no moment of watching
- 15:58Speaker 1: them sort of circle and try to see, wait are
- 16:02Speaker 1: they dead? Where are their body? You know what I mean?
- 16:06Speaker 1: They just swoop in and immediately go in for the attack.
- 16:10Speaker 1: And I love how fast this escalates. It's just so
- 16:14Speaker 1: fucking insane. So Bernadette says, Missus Friday is also supposed
- 16:21Speaker 1: to is it. Missus Friday is also supposed to be
- 16:24Speaker 1: a vulture, So one piece in general is just delightfully unhinged. Yeah,
- 16:28Speaker 1: It's a really weird thing that I would love to hear.
- 16:34Speaker 1: If Oda has ever like talked about why this happens,
- 16:39Speaker 1: like so early on, and he never really returns to
- 16:41Speaker 1: their being fighting animals of this type again, I wouldn't
- 16:46Speaker 1: be mad at it. We could just do this again,
- 16:48Speaker 1: I'd be fine. Why not. It's sort of fantastic. So anyway,
- 16:56Speaker 1: what we end up getting is a scene of first
- 17:02Speaker 1: the bird is taken out, oh yeah, and he gets
- 17:04Speaker 1: on the transponder as well and is like really quickly
- 17:09Speaker 1: saying something like I'm just gonna have to put you
- 17:12Speaker 1: on hold. He presses a button and we get actual
- 17:15Speaker 1: hold music as this fucking otter leaps at him. I
- 17:23Speaker 1: love so much these the oyster shell weapons that have
- 17:28Speaker 1: like the spikes coming out of them. If you play
- 17:30Speaker 1: if you play Animal Crossing, there's an Otter character that
- 17:34Speaker 1: has oysters that well, no, he wants an oyster from
- 17:41Speaker 1: you that you've like gone swimming and picked up, and
- 17:45Speaker 1: if you give it to him, he'll give you like
- 17:47Speaker 1: a recipe on how to make a thing. So he's
- 17:49Speaker 1: often like you'll see the oyster theme with an Otter,
- 17:53Speaker 1: and it's just wild to see this otter there's a
- 17:57Speaker 1: part of me that's sort of mentally making animal crossing
- 18:01Speaker 1: character seem like this is the the undercover persona when
- 18:07Speaker 1: he's very like chill and stoned on animal crossing, but
- 18:10Speaker 1: when he's on the job, this is what he's doing
- 18:15Speaker 1: and we just don't know that because animal crossing is
- 18:19Speaker 1: vacation times. Everybody is chilling, and this is this is
- 18:23Speaker 1: not where we're going to bring business to mix in
- 18:26Speaker 1: with everything, you know, But now I think that's gonna
- 18:29Speaker 1: be my head canon is that actually he's secretly this
- 18:31Speaker 1: like incredibly high level assassin. So h. Bernadette says, well,
- 18:40Speaker 1: because Odo was busy inventing other shit like desert running
- 18:44Speaker 1: ducks or sky islands that you can only reach by
- 18:46Speaker 1: being shot into the air via geyser. I mean, I guess,
- 18:52Speaker 1: but like, how do you let go of this? I
- 18:54Speaker 1: don't know, man, so sorry, Seraphim said, as there are
- 19:01Speaker 1: a bunch of animals that are just here to fight
- 19:03Speaker 1: throughout most recently you see the bowl from dress Rosa.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I can't remember this. It like the animals that I
- 19:13Speaker 1: remember that are just here to fight. All are are
- 19:17Speaker 1: still very animal like though right, like this isn't otter
- 19:21Speaker 1: using a machine gun. The vultures wearing an aviator helmet
- 19:27Speaker 1: and goggles. You know what I'm saying, Like, these are
- 19:31Speaker 1: not animals. They look like regular animals, but they are
- 19:35Speaker 1: not behaving that way. And I just remember the animals
- 19:40Speaker 1: that we have encountered have mostly just been actually animals,
- 19:44Speaker 1: unless I'm like, I could very well be. There's a
- 19:47Speaker 1: lot to keep track of in one piece, so you know,
- 19:51Speaker 1: so anyway, this scene of the fighting, I keep imagining
- 19:59Speaker 1: what it was like for fucking this actor, trying to
- 20:05Speaker 1: because like, if you watch the scene, I'm deeply enjoying it,
- 20:10Speaker 1: don't get me wrong, but if you watch the scene,
- 20:14Speaker 1: you can see the disconnect there a little bit between
- 20:19Speaker 1: what songs she's doing and what the otter is doing.
- 20:22Speaker 1: At one point, he's kicking and looking in a certain
- 20:24Speaker 1: direction like he's kicking at something, and the way that
- 20:27Speaker 1: they've chosen to animate it is that the Otter is
- 20:30Speaker 1: just stuck to his leg and not moving, And it
- 20:35Speaker 1: just made me laugh that he's like just going for
- 20:37Speaker 1: it so hard with certain movements. I don't know how
- 20:39Speaker 1: much this is pre choreographed or how much they just
- 20:41Speaker 1: tell him go in there and just like fight with nobody.
- 20:44Speaker 1: But it is extremely funny watching it now to just
- 20:49Speaker 1: be like, I know what he was picturing happening here,
- 20:53Speaker 1: and they did not animate it that way at all,
- 20:55Speaker 1: and part of me feels like they're fucking with him. Anyway.
- 20:59Speaker 1: I enjoyed this scene a great deal. Later on, he
- 21:05Speaker 1: mentions how he took out two Baroque's work agents all
- 21:08Speaker 1: by himself, conveniently leaving out the fact that they were
- 21:12Speaker 1: both like two feet tall and animals. But you know,
- 21:16Speaker 1: I don't know that it's necessarily less impressive. It's you know,
- 21:20Speaker 1: probably we don't need to mention that detail. So that's fine.
- 21:23Speaker 1: So let us now go over to mister three, who
- 21:32Speaker 1: has all of our hostages. Now I say hostages. He's
- 21:37Speaker 1: not demanding anything. They're just prisoners. VIVI. I keep wanting
- 21:41Speaker 1: to say, it's upsorro and nam on this cake thing.
- 21:47Speaker 1: And I had said last episode like that it was
- 21:51Speaker 1: a sort of what did I say, like a carousel.
- 21:56Speaker 1: I was remembering it, and I had forgotten that it's
- 22:00Speaker 1: like a cake that has the candles on top that
- 22:03Speaker 1: burn and melt downward. It's interesting too, like the difference
- 22:07Speaker 1: in the way they are doing it here, in terms
- 22:11Speaker 1: of it being more of like a soft, floating mist
- 22:15Speaker 1: of wax that rains down on them. It's like a
- 22:18Speaker 1: little different than I would expect. I like it. I
- 22:21Speaker 1: think it works. And the argument that he gets in
- 22:27Speaker 1: with the other two baroques agents where he's like, I
- 22:33Speaker 1: what is it that he says to them as he's
- 22:35Speaker 1: got this set up, he says something like the problem
- 22:39Speaker 1: with my colleagues is that they are so focused on
- 22:43Speaker 1: the works that they forget to be baroque, which is
- 22:49Speaker 1: such a good line. And you know at this point,
- 22:54Speaker 1: Vivi has smushed off the paint from Nami's leg, which
- 22:59Speaker 1: brings back to herself, and she's just like, it's like
- 23:02Speaker 1: I could not control how I felt about anything. Meanwhile,
- 23:06Speaker 1: Zoro is over here like not letting Nami wipe it
- 23:11Speaker 1: off him and avoiding her. He keeps making jokes. At first,
- 23:15Speaker 1: he's like, oh, wow, you got got with paint. That's
- 23:18Speaker 1: so weak. I would never let that happen. And then
- 23:20Speaker 1: she's like, bro, do you see do you see the
- 23:23Speaker 1: actual paint on you right now? And he's just like, oh,
- 23:25Speaker 1: that's crazy, and he's just laughing. So once they actually
- 23:32Speaker 1: get to the cake, itself, trying to remember exactly how
- 23:37Speaker 1: we wind up removing the paint from him and how
- 23:41Speaker 1: that happens. But he comes back to himself like while
- 23:44Speaker 1: they are in the wax, and it's very fun because
- 23:51Speaker 1: both Nami and VIVI are just like, we want our
- 23:55Speaker 1: Zoro back, that would do something about this. And once
- 23:58Speaker 1: he pops up, Nami said something like, there he is,
- 24:01Speaker 1: and I always enjoy that sort of reaction. So Oosop
- 24:09Speaker 1: is bugging out a little bit. I say a little bit,
- 24:13Speaker 1: it's quite a lot. He has decided to go and
- 24:16Speaker 1: find Loofy, and what he is doing throughout this episode
- 24:21Speaker 1: is very much I am going to find a person
- 24:25Speaker 1: to solve this problem because I can't solve it. I
- 24:29Speaker 1: don't have what it takes to solve it, you know,
- 24:33Speaker 1: pick your poison on this. And it's really it's tough
- 24:39Speaker 1: because I understand this instinct so very much, but I
- 24:47Speaker 1: also hate to see it in a person that I
- 24:51Speaker 1: know actually is I think, you know that this actor
- 24:57Speaker 1: has done a good job at making me feel like
- 25:00Speaker 1: you could pull this off with stuff. I feel like
- 25:02Speaker 1: it's in you, you know. And he finds Lufy, who
- 25:08Speaker 1: has been captured by Miss Golden Week. At first she
- 25:13Speaker 1: had painted the blue circle on his face, and then
- 25:17Speaker 1: she goes in and paints the green because when he's blue,
- 25:22Speaker 1: he's too sad and he keeps just like shutting down,
- 25:26Speaker 1: which she finds really boring, so she replaces it. And
- 25:31Speaker 1: it's interesting to watch it because she paints the green
- 25:35Speaker 1: almost simultaneous with wiping the blue off. It's not exactly
- 25:40Speaker 1: but close enough. Because I was watching this and I
- 25:44Speaker 1: was like, I can't I can't recall. There's so much
- 25:46Speaker 1: that I don't remember that I was thinking, like, what
- 25:52Speaker 1: happens if if you did leave both, Like how would
- 25:55Speaker 1: that go? Which we eventually see what happens when there's
- 25:59Speaker 1: all of them, which is just way too many. But the calm,
- 26:05Speaker 1: the calm is interesting because he's fighting that one a
- 26:13Speaker 1: little bit more effectively, it seems than the sad one,
- 26:18Speaker 1: which I'm just interested in why that is. The sad one,
- 26:24Speaker 1: it just seemed like it had fully taken him over.
- 26:26Speaker 1: But once it's calm, he's like pushing through it a
- 26:30Speaker 1: little bit more and refusing to play along. And I
- 26:36Speaker 1: just gotta say, chick playing this Golden Week is uh.
- 26:45Speaker 1: First of all, obviously she's just very unnerving, granted, but
- 26:54Speaker 1: I almost feel like what's unnerving about her is the
- 26:58Speaker 1: age thing that we talked about, like episode where you
- 27:00Speaker 1: can't quite tell is she young or old? Like what
- 27:05Speaker 1: her acting is fine. I think that like what they've
- 27:13Speaker 1: decided to do with her with as a character, it's
- 27:17Speaker 1: a little boiler plate. So I don't really know how
- 27:19Speaker 1: much she had to work with, you know, because she
- 27:23Speaker 1: does the thing of like, oh, I'm going to talk
- 27:25Speaker 1: about the parents that I murdered also and do it
- 27:30Speaker 1: real like casually, like it's nothing sort of thing. I uh,
- 27:35Speaker 1: but loofy like having to play at feeling more than
- 27:39Speaker 1: one emotion. He's had to do that quite a few
- 27:43Speaker 1: times already this season, and yeah, he knows how to
- 27:47Speaker 1: do it. He is convincing. I am impressed. Just color
- 27:52Speaker 1: me impressed. That's all I'll say about that. So this
- 27:58Speaker 1: scene ends with her demanding to know how the tea
- 28:03Speaker 1: is and he's like, she slams a brush through his hand.
- 28:07Speaker 1: I think when she does this, I think it's a brush,
- 28:10Speaker 1: but you know, she sees that he's fighting back and
- 28:12Speaker 1: she does not want that. So he says the tea
- 28:18Speaker 1: is delicious, but it's very clear it's coming out through
- 28:22Speaker 1: like gritted teeth. He does not want to be saying
- 28:26Speaker 1: this and is trying very hard not to say this,
- 28:30Speaker 1: and I like what we next get from her is
- 28:39Speaker 1: you know what, I'm like, you are just not the dolly,
- 28:45Speaker 1: because she keeps calling him that that I want. I'm
- 28:50Speaker 1: gonna get rid of you, and she paints the black
- 28:54Speaker 1: circle on him, and she's like, I'm gonna take away
- 29:00Speaker 1: your dreams and then I'm gonna make you kill yourself.
- 29:03Speaker 1: So walk into the ocean and say out loud that
- 29:07Speaker 1: you will never find the one piece, which is just
- 29:15Speaker 1: deeply awful. It's such like unnecessary. You could kill him anyway,
- 29:21Speaker 1: but you want to like strip him of what makes
- 29:26Speaker 1: him who he is first, which is just girl, get
- 29:32Speaker 1: some medication. Okay, that's what I have to say about that.
- 29:38Speaker 1: See somebody about that. It's awful because when Usup finds Loofy,
- 29:49Speaker 1: which he does, Loofy is alone and Usup sees the
- 29:54Speaker 1: paint on his face, but very understandably is not connecting
- 29:59Speaker 1: the dots, like I'm saying, very understandably because a part
- 30:06Speaker 1: of me is frustrated that he doesn't connect the dots.
- 30:11Speaker 1: But I'm trying to be reasonable and be like, would
- 30:13Speaker 1: I either I feel like, at the very least, I'd
- 30:19Speaker 1: want to wipe it off because I wouldn't understand what
- 30:22Speaker 1: it meant, and I'd feel like he's acting so weird,
- 30:25Speaker 1: something bad has happened, and I would just you know
- 30:28Speaker 1: what I mean, but don't. I certainly wouldn't be like, oh,
- 30:33Speaker 1: this is paint and the paint's making him feel a way.
- 30:35Speaker 1: It's not exactly that. It's just more that like he's
- 30:38Speaker 1: acting way out of character for him, and this is
- 30:42Speaker 1: sudden and new, and he's all alone sitting on the beach.
- 30:47Speaker 1: This all is weird. What if I changed this one
- 30:51Speaker 1: thing that I don't understand? I don't know. Maybe I wouldn't.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Maybe I wouldn't. But it's really just a tough moment
- 30:59Speaker 1: watching USA up like find Loofy and want this to
- 31:05Speaker 1: be the end of the problem, wanting Lufy to be
- 31:09Speaker 1: the guy who fixes it all. And when he eventually
- 31:15Speaker 1: does rescue Loofy after having like a whole aside, uh,
- 31:23Speaker 1: he still is in this mindset of I just needed
- 31:26Speaker 1: to find the person who's gonna be able to do
- 31:29Speaker 1: something about this. But once we actually get to that point,
- 31:36Speaker 1: Lufy is one dude, and Oo's up expectation that he
- 31:41Speaker 1: can just like pull in this guy and he'll solve everything.
- 31:47Speaker 1: It's not just unrealistic, it's that too, but it's like,
- 31:50Speaker 1: when you stop and think about it, it's kind of
- 31:53Speaker 1: unfair oos Up do something, try something, you know. So anyway,
- 32:07Speaker 1: we have like the the I want to say intervention,
- 32:10Speaker 1: it's not quite the right word. But Brogie is indeed
- 32:15Speaker 1: still alive, delighted to see it. Both of our giant
- 32:19Speaker 1: friends by the end of this are still alive. And
- 32:25Speaker 1: Oosup has a very frank conversation with him about fear
- 32:31Speaker 1: and is like, it's it's the usual, and I'm saying
- 32:35Speaker 1: the usual. I don't want to make it sound dismissive
- 32:38Speaker 1: because I think it's written fine. It's just, you know,
- 32:41Speaker 1: we've encountered this many times before. Of like, it's not
- 32:46Speaker 1: about not being afraid. It's about doing what needs to
- 32:49Speaker 1: be done despite that, It's about fighting the fear and
- 32:52Speaker 1: going for it. It's about dying for something that is
- 32:55Speaker 1: worth dying for and believing in what you're doing because
- 32:59Speaker 1: you know, otherwise, what do you even stand for? And
- 33:04Speaker 1: it inspires him to really go in and attempt a
- 33:11Speaker 1: rescue for his friends who are locked in place with
- 33:15Speaker 1: this fucking wax. Meanwhile, I had forgotten how this goes.
- 33:23Speaker 1: But when movie turns up, Mister three just straight up
- 33:27Speaker 1: books it. I had totally forgot that, and it's great.
- 33:33Speaker 1: So this is when we get what I had been
- 33:35Speaker 1: referencing last episode, which was the Doubles that in the
- 33:40Speaker 1: anime it's much more of a thing that everybody is
- 33:43Speaker 1: toyed with before they're captured by the doubles that are
- 33:49Speaker 1: made of wax. And in that version it's I believe
- 33:54Speaker 1: supposed to be that Miss Golden Week has painted them
- 33:57Speaker 1: as well, so that they look realistic. What it appears
- 34:00Speaker 1: they're doing in the anime is like he makes these
- 34:05Speaker 1: ahead of time and they are actually wearing like his clothes,
- 34:13Speaker 1: Like he got twelve of the same shirt and put
- 34:18Speaker 1: that shirt on all of the mannequins. I just really
- 34:21Speaker 1: want to take a second, guys and think about the
- 34:24Speaker 1: implications of this, because what he says to Lufy is
- 34:28Speaker 1: like I always come prepared. So is Bro actually traveling
- 34:39Speaker 1: with twelve versions of himself? We have seen how long
- 34:44Speaker 1: it takes for him to make a sculpture out of wax,
- 34:48Speaker 1: and then you've got to dress it, and you've got
- 34:50Speaker 1: to make the skin color like right, and have it
- 34:54Speaker 1: have hair and glasses. Like the amount of time that
- 35:00Speaker 1: he gets jumping ahead of Loofy into the woods and
- 35:03Speaker 1: running ahead, he's not making all of these guys. And
- 35:07Speaker 1: he says, I come prepared, implying he arrived at this
- 35:11Speaker 1: island with all of these little mannequins made already. And
- 35:15Speaker 1: I just want to stop and think about going to
- 35:20Speaker 1: Like if I went into Walmart and I was like,
- 35:23Speaker 1: this is the top I'm going to be wearing at
- 35:25Speaker 1: the island. I need fourteen of these in my size,
- 35:31Speaker 1: you know, and then you walk out of there with
- 35:33Speaker 1: like fourteen copies of the same outfit. You need the
- 35:37Speaker 1: same glasses. This is a lot of work, That's just
- 35:42Speaker 1: all I'm saying. Now. The advantage is that the wax
- 35:47Speaker 1: is so impossible to break that you're really likely only
- 35:53Speaker 1: going to have to do this one time. Ever, it's
- 35:56Speaker 1: not like I have to keep making these because they
- 36:01Speaker 1: get broken when people punch them. No, they're fine. So
- 36:06Speaker 1: these are multiple use, which also implies that mister three
- 36:11Speaker 1: is always wearing the same outfit, which is totally valid
- 36:15Speaker 1: because Miss Valentine seems to always be wearing the same outfit. Actually,
- 36:19Speaker 1: that's not fair. I feel like she wore a skirt
- 36:21Speaker 1: one time and then we see her in pants this episode.
- 36:25Speaker 1: Is that right? Or was she wearing pants the whole time?
- 36:29Speaker 1: She's kind of like the same vibe. But now I'm realizing,
- 36:31Speaker 1: like maybe she wasn't a different outfit. Mister Five's in
- 36:33Speaker 1: a different outfit, I think regardless. Okay, I just all
- 36:41Speaker 1: of the logistics behind mister three's mannequins. I just think
- 36:45Speaker 1: there's nothing about that that isn't funny on some level.
- 36:48Speaker 1: It's just a weird thing. And what his colleagues must
- 36:51Speaker 1: be thinking when they come into a room with him
- 36:54Speaker 1: and he has got a dozen perfect copies of himself
- 36:59Speaker 1: in the same outlet, Like do they even ask? Do
- 37:04Speaker 1: they know what it's for? Or are they just like
- 37:05Speaker 1: this fucking weirdo who knows? You know? Like I I
- 37:09Speaker 1: get the impression that mister three is just so insufferable
- 37:12Speaker 1: that nobody talks to him if they don't have to,
- 37:15Speaker 1: you know, Sorry, I'm just seeing Florian says he plays
- 37:22Speaker 1: the emotions and the distress great and interviews asked about it,
- 37:25Speaker 1: he just says, well, I'm an actor. I can act.
- 37:28Speaker 1: And that's so Loofy that is a great Yeah, Florian says,
- 37:34Speaker 1: I think that he is not traveling with them. He
- 37:36Speaker 1: makes them a new I think he had some time
- 37:38Speaker 1: while they were trapped in the house and Loopy was
- 37:40Speaker 1: at the beach. But yeah, he had to bring the
- 37:42Speaker 1: clothes and then says, yeah, she has two outfits. Miss
- 37:45Speaker 1: Valentine had a dressed before, says Candice. Okay, and that
- 37:48Speaker 1: makes sense because we have a lot of Miss Valentine
- 37:51Speaker 1: this episode when she's beating the absolute ever living shit
- 37:54Speaker 1: out of Soanjy, especially where the camera's on the ground
- 37:58Speaker 1: like looking up at her and I can see that
- 38:01Speaker 1: they were like, yeah, we're gonna put you in pants
- 38:02Speaker 1: so that we're not doing a bunch of upskirt shots,
- 38:04Speaker 1: although that would be very true to anime as well.
- 38:08Speaker 1: So Loofy here does the thing where instead of like
- 38:16Speaker 1: trying to figure out which one mister three is with
- 38:19Speaker 1: some kind of stealth or trickery, he just tries to
- 38:26Speaker 1: beat the fuck out of all of them at once
- 38:29Speaker 1: with the gatling, which like that's fair, you know, A
- 38:33Speaker 1: part of me wants to be like, there's smarter ways
- 38:35Speaker 1: to do this, but that's pretty efficient. I have to
- 38:39Speaker 1: admit that, however, mister three can make knives out of
- 38:46Speaker 1: wax and so he just keeps chucking them and stabbing
- 38:50Speaker 1: lufy like in the arms and shoulder and whatnot. I
- 38:55Speaker 1: appreciate this in addition to who what's going on with
- 39:02Speaker 1: mister three as because it would be very easy to
- 39:06Speaker 1: be like, Okay, this guy's deal is that he just
- 39:13Speaker 1: makes things out of wax and that's his weapon. But
- 39:17Speaker 1: broken knife throw and I do think we need to
- 39:20Speaker 1: point this out because that's impressive and that is a
- 39:24Speaker 1: very difficult skill. So in downtown in my town, there's
- 39:29Speaker 1: a place called the Horse's Axe and it's an axe
- 39:33Speaker 1: throwing and billiards and like there's a number of different
- 39:39Speaker 1: games there and I've gone there a few times and
- 39:44Speaker 1: ax throwing is tricky, but you can get it pretty quickly.
- 39:51Speaker 1: I quickly, you know, an asterisk, like quickly, depending on
- 39:54Speaker 1: who you are and how how coordinated you are and whatever.
- 39:58Speaker 1: But one of guys who works there also on request,
- 40:04Speaker 1: has sets of practice knives where you can try and
- 40:07Speaker 1: do knife throwing instead of ax throwing and He came
- 40:11Speaker 1: over one time and was like, Hey, do you guys
- 40:12Speaker 1: want to try this out? And I was like sure,
- 40:14Speaker 1: And y'all, I didn't get narry one knife to stick
- 40:20Speaker 1: in that wall ax throwing. I'm not like good at it,
- 40:24Speaker 1: but I can at least get it to stick. You know,
- 40:27Speaker 1: the blade goes into the wood and it stays. Great.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Those fucking knives I tried. I probably did for a
- 40:36Speaker 1: good like fifteen twenty. I think my husband was getting
- 40:38Speaker 1: irritated that I wasn't giving up, but it bothered me
- 40:42Speaker 1: that I couldn't get it. So anyway, it's hard to do,
- 40:46Speaker 1: and I do want to give mister three some credit
- 40:50Speaker 1: on that, so I know that I've been kind of
- 40:56Speaker 1: jumping around. It is sort of a tricky thing right
- 40:59Speaker 1: now because of how everybody's stories are separated and then
- 41:04Speaker 1: they come together. But he runs off into Brogi's cave
- 41:10Speaker 1: and Loofy follows him, and when he sees Dory all
- 41:15Speaker 1: encased in wax, Lufy truly loses his shit here. It's
- 41:22Speaker 1: really like, that's a rap and it's for me. I
- 41:28Speaker 1: was like, oh, yeah, I forgot that he got in case,
- 41:30Speaker 1: So does this mean that he's the one who died,
- 41:32Speaker 1: Like I thought I needed to worry about Brogy, but
- 41:35Speaker 1: maybe it's Dory I need to be worried about. No,
- 41:38Speaker 1: he's fine. And later it's just sort of hand waved
- 41:41Speaker 1: with like us giants are very resilient or something like that,
- 41:46Speaker 1: which is fine, totally acceptable. I don't really need an explanation. Well,
- 41:50Speaker 1: I'm just going to believe that he's fine. It's no problem.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Bro has been fighting almost to the death every day
- 41:56Speaker 1: for one hundred years. I think he can survive a
- 41:59Speaker 1: lot o suffocation. I think it's fine. So anyway, this
- 42:04Speaker 1: like Lufy really gets angry here, and at one point
- 42:09Speaker 1: he the thing that mister three does that I find
- 42:13Speaker 1: at the moment that he does it like, oh damn,
- 42:16Speaker 1: that's so embarrassing for Loofy, but then bites him in
- 42:19Speaker 1: the ass, is that he encases Lufy's hand when Lufy
- 42:25Speaker 1: tries to punch him in wax, weighing him down so
- 42:29Speaker 1: that Lufy goes over the edge of this like it's
- 42:32Speaker 1: a minor cliff. It's not really, it's like a chasm
- 42:36Speaker 1: and just like slams into the floor and it's extremely
- 42:40Speaker 1: uh oh. But then once Lufy is like more focused
- 42:46Speaker 1: by his rage regarding Brogie. He uses that conveniently hammer
- 42:54Speaker 1: shaped piece of wax to beat the fuck out of
- 42:59Speaker 1: mister Now, mister three isn't killed, to be clear, Like,
- 43:08Speaker 1: he gets knocked out and he's on his face with
- 43:10Speaker 1: his glasses askew. It's definitely like he isn't somebody that
- 43:17Speaker 1: we need to worry about right now. But it's pretty
- 43:22Speaker 1: clear to me that he's only been knocked out. And
- 43:25Speaker 1: I was sort of like, how exactly will the show
- 43:28Speaker 1: handle what Lufy does next? And they truth is they don't.
- 43:33Speaker 1: He just we kind of just cut and then we
- 43:37Speaker 1: open on mister three with his like missing teeth, which
- 43:41Speaker 1: is really awful to look at. I got, oh, guys,
- 43:45Speaker 1: but there's no moment even of like consideration of do
- 43:53Speaker 1: I murder this man now that he's unconscious. It's very
- 43:58Speaker 1: much treated as like a foregone conclusion. If he's unconscious,
- 44:04Speaker 1: I can say my friends will be okay, which is
- 44:09Speaker 1: of course completely in line with who Lufy is. But
- 44:13Speaker 1: there is a part of me in a live action,
- 44:16Speaker 1: especially where I just want to be like, you gotta
- 44:19Speaker 1: kill this guy. He's gonna come back to get you.
- 44:21Speaker 1: You don't, you might not. You don't know how long
- 44:23Speaker 1: he's gonna stay unconscious, for his eyes might open as
- 44:26Speaker 1: you leave the cave and now where are you? But
- 44:29Speaker 1: I also don't want Lufy to be a guy who
- 44:31Speaker 1: kills an unconscious man. So you know, it's just very,
- 44:34Speaker 1: very torn. So the Oosop's sacrifice, guys, is I feel
- 44:47Speaker 1: like way more moving in this. I was watching him
- 44:54Speaker 1: get the tar beat out of him and was just like, oh, bro,
- 44:59Speaker 1: because what he decided to do is challenge Miss Valentine
- 45:06Speaker 1: and mister Five to a duel. Miss Valentine is like
- 45:12Speaker 1: are you are you serious? And they actually let it
- 45:17Speaker 1: be a real duel. At one point she asked mister
- 45:20Speaker 1: five to intervene and he's like, it's a duel. No.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Some how that goes, which I can't help but respect
- 45:25Speaker 1: a little bit. But what ends up happening is that
- 45:34Speaker 1: Oosop has sort of figured out a way this may
- 45:39Speaker 1: work to save his friends, and so he lets himself
- 45:47Speaker 1: get beaten at the base of the birthday cake because
- 45:52Speaker 1: every stomp that she lands on him breaks some of
- 45:57Speaker 1: the wax, and watching him get stomped on, it's like, obviously,
- 46:06Speaker 1: she lands one hundred kilo punch on his face that
- 46:09Speaker 1: would literally smash his skull into a paste. Like this
- 46:13Speaker 1: is not how it would really work. But I will
- 46:17Speaker 1: say that the makeup after, but that swollen up, fucking
- 46:20Speaker 1: eye is very much giving Oh that shit hurt. He's
- 46:27Speaker 1: fucked up, now, you know it's not I don't want
- 46:30Speaker 1: to say that that makeup is quite in the neighborhood
- 46:32Speaker 1: of like cartoonish, because honestly, I've seen injuries like that,
- 46:38Speaker 1: you know, like not personally, but it's something that happens,
- 46:41Speaker 1: so it's extreme, but it is real. But I was
- 46:47Speaker 1: sort of watching her punching him and he isn't taking
- 46:50Speaker 1: as much damage as I know this would do, and
- 46:53Speaker 1: I was sort of like, how are we gonna really emphasize?
- 46:55Speaker 1: And then later when he sits up and he's got
- 46:57Speaker 1: the makeup on, I was like, oh, okay, there it is.
- 47:00Speaker 1: That is that is gruesome, and the crack lets both
- 47:09Speaker 1: Nami and Viv free. But Oosup's leg is still in
- 47:18Speaker 1: place because he was trying to cut his own leg
- 47:22Speaker 1: off to get free before mister three was like, ew,
- 47:26Speaker 1: what are you doing and stopped him, So that bit,
- 47:31Speaker 1: for some reason, the crack does not affect And so
- 47:33Speaker 1: even though the rest of his body gets freed, his
- 47:35Speaker 1: foot is still locked in place, and Mister five has
- 47:41Speaker 1: zero problem with starting to fight an opponent who can't move.
- 47:49Speaker 1: At one point, he says something about like, what you're
- 47:52Speaker 1: gonna fight me when you're still like that? And Zorro
- 47:57Speaker 1: says something like, it's the only way that you would
- 47:58Speaker 1: even stand a chance. This is basically making it a
- 48:01Speaker 1: fair fight, you know. And uh, the breathe bullets, he
- 48:09Speaker 1: like breathes on them, and I guess it's meant to
- 48:12Speaker 1: be that, just like the molecules from his breath make
- 48:17Speaker 1: the bullets explosive, which is wild, Like I really like
- 48:23Speaker 1: that as a I don't I don't remember this, you know,
- 48:26Speaker 1: maybe in the anime as well, but that's pretty cool.
- 48:31Speaker 1: So there's the fight that's going on with because Nami
- 48:36Speaker 1: and VIVI jump in to help Oosop and let him
- 48:40Speaker 1: basically get a break while they fuck up Miss Valentine,
- 48:46Speaker 1: and Miss Valentine doesn't get completely fucked up, like she's
- 48:53Speaker 1: still alive. Later on, we do not see mister five,
- 48:57Speaker 1: so I believe that he has been wholly handled. But
- 49:03Speaker 1: the fight between Vivian Nami I actually really really enjoyed
- 49:07Speaker 1: watching because the coordination between the two of them is
- 49:16Speaker 1: so it feels so correct that one of them couldn't
- 49:21Speaker 1: defeat her, but both of them against her, especially after
- 49:24Speaker 1: she was just in a fight with ousap. This is
- 49:27Speaker 1: an appropriate win. And when you see how eventually Zorro
- 49:35Speaker 1: wins over mister Five, that feels correct too that this
- 49:39Speaker 1: got drawn out only because he was locked in place.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Otherwise the fight would not have taken this long because
- 49:47Speaker 1: Zorro is extremely capable, and the way that he gets
- 49:53Speaker 1: out is that usup uses like a Tabasco star, which
- 49:58Speaker 1: I believe he shoots directly down Mister Five's throat, and
- 50:02Speaker 1: Mister Five like breathes fire, which melts some of the wax,
- 50:07Speaker 1: also lights Zoro's swords on fire, so when Zoro slices
- 50:12Speaker 1: up mister Five, all three of the swords are on fire.
- 50:15Speaker 1: Very bad CGI flames. By the way, I am not
- 50:18Speaker 1: someone who usually clocks that fire as CGI. From what
- 50:20Speaker 1: I understand, if you see fire on television, it's CGI
- 50:24Speaker 1: almost every time. But I don't. I'm not good at
- 50:29Speaker 1: spotting that. There are some things I'm great at spotting
- 50:31Speaker 1: plastic surgery, bad wigs, but CGI blood and CGI fire
- 50:37Speaker 1: I suck at noticing that. But the CGI flames on
- 50:42Speaker 1: Zoro's blades. That's not great looking. I think it's a
- 50:47Speaker 1: really cool idea. The moment is cool, but I couldn't
- 50:51Speaker 1: help but be like, oh, that does not look good.
- 50:55Speaker 1: So I'm trying to jump to the part where big
- 51:00Speaker 1: is the fights. We cut between them constantly, so it's
- 51:05Speaker 1: not easy to talk about them all in a what's
- 51:11Speaker 1: the word I want, like in a tidy way. So
- 51:18Speaker 1: Miss Valentine eventually she's got Vivi's yo yo's around her
- 51:26Speaker 1: neck and Nami knocks her out with a part of
- 51:32Speaker 1: her staff because Miss Valentine breaks nami staff in half.
- 51:38Speaker 1: So yeah, she also gets knocked out but left alive.
- 51:42Speaker 1: Zora was really the killer. He's the one when he
- 51:46Speaker 1: deals with somebody, that person is fucking dead, you know,
- 51:50Speaker 1: And that makes sense to me character wise. I think
- 51:54Speaker 1: Vivi's weapons of Yoyo's is dope. I love this. I
- 51:59Speaker 1: don't know what it is. I think it's just like
- 52:04Speaker 1: I could see it. I could see this working, you know.
- 52:08Speaker 1: It's like just silly enough, but also you know, shit
- 52:15Speaker 1: can strangle you. Yeah, why not? Why not? I could
- 52:19Speaker 1: see it? And it was fun to get to see
- 52:23Speaker 1: her use that. It was fun to get to see
- 52:25Speaker 1: Nammy fight. Like they have really established in the show
- 52:29Speaker 1: that Nammy can handle herself. It's not in the anime.
- 52:34Speaker 1: It's not exactly that she absolutely can't handle herself, but
- 52:37Speaker 1: she's just really that's not her forte. You know, she's
- 52:41Speaker 1: not a fighter. She's stealth, she's the navigator, she's the
- 52:44Speaker 1: brains of the operation. But really, when it comes to
- 52:48Speaker 1: like hand to hand, we don't have her do that
- 52:50Speaker 1: all too much. We eventually give her a weapon that
- 52:52Speaker 1: makes it so that she is fighting people in a
- 52:55Speaker 1: very hands off kind of way a lot of the time.
- 52:59Speaker 1: And in the live action they have let Nami be
- 53:03Speaker 1: more of a fighter, and I can understand why she
- 53:07Speaker 1: isn't in the anime, and it's always kind of bummed
- 53:10Speaker 1: me out, but I've never really been like mad at it.
- 53:13Speaker 1: It's just that so few women really seem to do
- 53:15Speaker 1: much hand to hand in the anime, in like in
- 53:21Speaker 1: the way that I've talked about it at length another episodes.
- 53:26Speaker 1: I won't get into it, but I do want to
- 53:28Speaker 1: say that I liked it they've stepped that up for her,
- 53:31Speaker 1: because like when you stop and think about the things
- 53:33Speaker 1: Namis had to go through in order to earn the
- 53:35Speaker 1: money that she did for our long getting good at
- 53:38Speaker 1: fighting feels like it would have had to have happened
- 53:41Speaker 1: at least a little. She doesn't have to be Zoro
- 53:44Speaker 1: with it, you know, but she's definitely I appreciate her
- 53:50Speaker 1: being able to pull a move out here and there,
- 53:53Speaker 1: you know. So that's just like nice to see. So
- 54:02Speaker 1: the group of them once they have all finally been
- 54:06Speaker 1: free there down at the beach, and Dory is like,
- 54:13Speaker 1: Loofy meets up with him riding on Dory's head. I
- 54:17Speaker 1: think he's like all the way up there. But him
- 54:23Speaker 1: and BROGI have a moment where they reunite and are
- 54:27Speaker 1: just like, what were we even fighting about? You almost died.
- 54:30Speaker 1: Let's just let this go bygones, be bygones, YadA, YadA, YadA.
- 54:35Speaker 1: And then they're like, all right, guys, you need to
- 54:37Speaker 1: sail ahead and trust us, no matter what happens, just
- 54:40Speaker 1: keep going straight, and Oofsop is the only one being like,
- 54:44Speaker 1: no matter what happens, what does that mean? What do
- 54:48Speaker 1: you mean? What does that mean? And eventually we get
- 54:54Speaker 1: the giant Goldfish and it's a I think kind of
- 54:58Speaker 1: a nice balance here, because like, this goldfish so enormous.
- 55:06Speaker 1: This goldfish pops up and I'm like, oh, we have
- 55:09Speaker 1: to destroy this thing, and because I remember this, you know,
- 55:14Speaker 1: but I'm also like, ah, poor goldfish. And then I
- 55:17Speaker 1: look at the goldfish and I'm like, hh, okay, no,
- 55:21Speaker 1: it's fine, you can kill that thing. Whoever designed the
- 55:24Speaker 1: face of this goldfish really managed to thread a needle
- 55:29Speaker 1: of being like, Okay, yeah, this animal has to die.
- 55:33Speaker 1: I know that sucks, but I'm gonna make him creepy. Okay,
- 55:36Speaker 1: don't worry. You won't feel that bad about it, trust me.
- 55:40Speaker 1: And I do appreciate that a lot. And of course
- 55:46Speaker 1: we have if you trying to insist, I'm going to
- 55:49Speaker 1: like get off the ship and leave you guys and
- 55:52Speaker 1: not bother you. And my battle is in your battle,
- 55:56Speaker 1: and YadA YadA, and lufy being like, girl, we already
- 55:59Speaker 1: have said our next like our next stop is meant
- 56:05Speaker 1: to be alabasta, shut up, and she's like, I would
- 56:10Speaker 1: never ask you to do that, and he's like, yeah,
- 56:13Speaker 1: you'll notice you didn't ask I just did it. What
- 56:19Speaker 1: I feel like that was, is that not clear? It's
- 56:23Speaker 1: great and that's when Nami is like, yeah, see, I
- 56:27Speaker 1: told you when you'd see it, you'd see it. Meanwhile,
- 56:31Speaker 1: back on the island, we've got two things happening where
- 56:38Speaker 1: first brogiean Dory have to use their weapons to break
- 56:42Speaker 1: this fucking fish down the middle. But then they are like,
- 56:49Speaker 1: what even were we fighting about? And the fish reminds them, oh, yeah,
- 56:54Speaker 1: we were disagreeing when we each killed a sea king
- 56:58Speaker 1: on which one was bigger, and it just starts their
- 57:01Speaker 1: whole fight over again, and they just begin to fight again,
- 57:05Speaker 1: and I love it. It's great, delightful. Then we have
- 57:12Speaker 1: a moment of Nami just like not quite looking right.
- 57:18Speaker 1: She's smiling and joking around. There's there's a fucking like
- 57:24Speaker 1: Zora says something about the size of the t rex
- 57:26Speaker 1: to Sangy, who's like, don't worry about me in sighs,
- 57:30Speaker 1: and Namy just rolls her eyes and then we see
- 57:34Speaker 1: her sort of like weirdly fall forward and she just
- 57:38Speaker 1: sort of looks like that was weird, but she seems okay.
- 57:42Speaker 1: The next moment, we then go to mister three and
- 57:50Speaker 1: he has missing teeth drinking a cup of tea. Miss
- 57:54Speaker 1: Valentine is screaming at him. Your partner lost her mind
- 57:57Speaker 1: and our targets got away again. I didn't really talk
- 58:01Speaker 1: in depth about who stop rescuing Lufy and her getting
- 58:05Speaker 1: her face smashed into her whole palette of paints, but
- 58:09Speaker 1: that's what happened. It's great, Miss Valentine is like, I
- 58:13Speaker 1: fucking told you that we should have just killed them?
- 58:17Speaker 1: What did I say? And you had to be all
- 58:19Speaker 1: fucking precious about it? And now look, and it's just
- 58:23Speaker 1: a nightmare. I cannot believe this is what's happening. And
- 58:29Speaker 1: transponder Snail begins to ring and she's like, I'm going
- 58:33Speaker 1: to fucking tell him exactly what the fuck happened, and
- 58:37Speaker 1: she picks it up, or she's about to pick it up,
- 58:41Speaker 1: and he wraps a hand around her face and he says,
- 58:45Speaker 1: you won't be telling him anything, and then wax just
- 58:49Speaker 1: begins to pour from his hand over her face, over
- 58:54Speaker 1: her nose and mouth. It's pretty awful, Like this method
- 59:01Speaker 1: of murdering where it's like slow suffocation, is awful to
- 59:04Speaker 1: begin with, but there's something about this moment specifically and
- 59:12Speaker 1: going for her face first, that is just a really creepy,
- 59:18Speaker 1: you know what, I mean, it just got me. I
- 59:20Speaker 1: didn't like it. So then we have a lovely moment
- 59:26Speaker 1: below decks where everybody has been eating and they have
- 59:31Speaker 1: this like fucking, you know, giant chunk of t rex meat.
- 59:37Speaker 1: They also, I think, have like some watermelon and whatnot.
- 59:42Speaker 1: It looks lovely and they all toast the hero of
- 59:46Speaker 1: Little Garden, who is oosup and they are correct Usop,
- 59:52Speaker 1: I believed in you, buddy, and you managed it, and
- 59:54Speaker 1: they're like, we got you. Gotta tell the story. And
- 59:57Speaker 1: it's great because he's like, I was surround. I buy
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: six assassins and Nami says six and he says, well,
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: maybe there was eight. They're even moving fast. You saw it, right, Vivi,
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: And Vivi just says it was too hard to count.
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: Fucking Sanji, you know, Vivi, I did defeat two baroque
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: works agents myself. Yeah, Sonjie, all right, he says this,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: and we don't actually see her face or what like
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: her response to him trying to come on to her.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: I mean, he just says, they were very you know,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: it was miss it was thirteen or fifteen and Miss Friday,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: and I appreciate again VIVI just being like yeah, they're
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: very dangerous opponents. She knows immediately like who that is,
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: and she's going to keep covering for Sanji as well.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: So we have a lovely moment here with Nammy just
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: being like, hey, girl, really glad to have you here,
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: and glad to have another girl on the crew as well,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: Like it's just I think this is gonna be great.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: And then she goes, you know, I'm really tired. I
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: think I'm gonna go to bed early, but I will
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: see you in the morning, okay. And so she gets
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: up and walks out onto the deck and doesn't even
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: make it back to her room and just falls collapses
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: right on the deck, and that is how the episode ends.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: So I just really I like this ending. I think
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: that having everybody like together, a moment of celebration, you know,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: this is my favorite thing with the crew. And then
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: we have the little button of tension of no me collapsing.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: It's like a perfect we have a resolution, and then
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: just the barest oh shit, what now? And I'll be honest, guys,
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: I do not remember what Nami is even sick with.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: I don't recall how this all worked in the anime.
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: Doesn't matter, It's fine, but uh, this means, this means
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: we know what it means, we know where we're going.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: I'm very very excited. Been waiting for this, been waiting
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: for this, I've been waiting for this, I've been waiting
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: for you. So yeah, ready, ready, all right everybody, I'm
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: going to wrap up. Thank you all again, so much
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: fraking out with me until next time to the loom.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: Motherfuckers that was an unspoiled network
