- 0:15We just started. My name is John and since I was very young,
- 0:23I am aware that in this universe there are evil forces, which can
- 0:28torment and root even an unwary child. It all started in my childhood,
- 0:33when I was in the third grade of elementary school. The school had organized
- 0:37an exciting excursion to a theme park, which was very popular with children at
- 0:42that time. This one was in the city, which is why we had
- 0:47not had the opportunity to go. For me and my colleagues it was a
- 0:52day eagerly awaited, so for days it was the only thing we talked about.
- 0:57The day of the excursion. Finally it filled r and we headed to
- 1:00the theme park with a great emotion. Upon arrival, everything seemed perfect.
- 1:06The weather was pleasant, the games were fully functioning and the atmosphere was full
- 1:11of laughter and childish joy. We spent the morning enjoying the attractions and participating
- 1:18in exciting activities that the park offered in the afternoon. After lunch, our
- 1:23caregivers allowed us to explore the playground, which included a huge tunnel structure,
- 1:29slides and a ball pool. My friends and I dived into the fun,
- 1:34running and laughing as we ventured through the tunnels. However, at one point
- 1:41I found myself separated from the group as I sought the way back to my
- 1:47friends without much success. I heard the teachers calling all the children to leave
- 1:52I remember getting a little disappointed, as I wanted to keep playing, but
- 1:57I knew I should obey. After all, I didn' t want to
- 2:00be left there. I hurried to find the exit, but each tunnel seemed
- 2:05to take me further away from where I needed to be. After several failed
- 2:08attempts, as I slid through a yellow tunnel, which I was sure would
- 2:14take me to the exit, I found myself in a small room of the
- 2:19game where the ball pool lay deserted and silent. Confused and a little scared,
- 2:24I turned around to get out, but no matter why tunneling or stairwelling
- 2:29I always ended up back in that very room full of balls, I tried
- 2:35to get out back, but back I went back to that place. Despair
- 2:38and fear were beginning to form in me. I didn' t understand what
- 2:44was going on and I could only think that I would stay there forever.
- 2:46Suddenly, a sound caused him to look up. That' s when I
- 2:52saw something that made my heart stop on the other side of the room standing.
- 2:57Among the colored balls was a grown man dressed as a clown. His
- 3:01costume was very colorful, full of polka dots with rainbow colors. His smile
- 3:07was disturbing with his eyes fixed on me as if he was expecting something.
- 3:13I felt paralyzed by fear when I slowly raised my hand in a macabre greeting.
- 3:19Before he could react, he let go of a chilling laugh and plunged
- 3:23into the balls. Disconcerted, I watched the balls begin to move as if
- 3:30they charted a path towards me. Panic gripped me as I ran into the
- 3:35nearest tunnel, crawling desperately in the dark, as the clown' s laughter
- 3:39resounded in my ears. Every time I thought of finding my way out,
- 3:46I found myself trapped in the endless maze of tunnels and corridors. Finally exhausted
- 3:53and trembling with fear, I slipped through one of the slides and finally emerged
- 3:57at the start of the game, being rando by my masters visibly annoyed by
- 4:02my lateness. I tried to explain what had happened to me, but I
- 4:06was ignored. With indifference. To them he was just a naughty boy who
- 4:12had decided to hide and play a joke back home. My parents scolded me
- 4:17for my behavior and punished me without going out all weekend. The next day
- 4:25I woke up early as usual. One Saturday, my parents were still asleep.
- 4:30At the weekend break I headed to the TV to enjoy my favorite cartoons
- 4:34while eating my favorite cereal. However, the morning normality was disturbed when in
- 4:43one of the segments of the children' s program, a clown appeared on
- 4:47the scene. That was not particularly strange in that program. He started giving
- 4:54balloons and making jokes with the program' s drivers. His jokes and his
- 4:59laughter filled your room, sending chills on my back. I tried to ignore
- 5:05the sense of restlessness that took over me, but every laugh of the clown
- 5:10resonated in my mind. As a reminder of the terrifying experience of the day
- 5:15before, I decided to pay for the TV waiting for a few minutes of
- 5:19silence to help me calm my nerves. However, in the midst of the
- 5:25sepulchral silence I began to hear whispers. At first I thought it was my
- 5:30mother or my father, who had woken up and come down without me noticing,
- 5:34but by calling them I did not get an answer. A chill swept
- 5:39through my body when I saw the kitchen door ajar and suddenly, the clown
- 5:44emerged with his sinister smile a cry of panic. He escaped from my lips
- 5:49as my parents ran down to help me, but when they arrived the Clown
- 5:56had vanished into the air. I tried to explain what had happened, but
- 6:00my parents seemed unable to believe me. My parents tried to reassure me,
- 6:06assuring me that everything was the product of my imagination, but I knew the
- 6:11truth. That Clown couldn' t be an invention of my mind. It
- 6:15was real and his presence had followed me from that park the feeling of being
- 6:19watched became something constant throughout the day. On several occasions he thought he saw
- 6:27the Clown by the corner of his eye, but when he turned, there
- 6:31was no trace of his presence. It was as if that Clown were playing
- 6:35with me, as if trying to make me doubt my own sanity, making
- 6:41me doubt what was real and what was not. That night I managed to
- 6:45convince my parents to allow me to sleep with them, as only the idea
- 6:49of facing the clown once again filled me with dread and the assurance of being
- 6:54with my parents seemed to be the only comfort I could find in the middle
- 6:59of that tone torme. The next day I sat in front of the TV
- 7:04trying to stay calm, while the certainty that my mother was in the kitchen
- 7:10gave me some relief. Suddenly, however, my mother left the kitchen reporting
- 7:14that she would go with the neighbor. One moment I begged to go with
- 7:18her, but I only received a negative, remembering that I was punished and
- 7:24could not go to play with the neighbor. Having said that, my mother
- 7:28left me alone immediately raising the TV volume trying to make the sound make me
- 7:33forget everything for a moment. That idea seemed to work. Suddenly I heard
- 7:39my mother' s voice calling me from the kitchen. That' s what
- 7:43missed me. I knew she wasn' t home, since I hadn'
- 7:46t seen her come back. My mother kept calling me, so believing that
- 7:50I might not have heard her return by the loud volume, I decided to
- 7:56attend to the call. I got up and walked towards the thing, convinced
- 8:01that the TV' s volume had prevented me from hearing my mother' s
- 8:05return. But as I entered the kitchen, I came across a scene that
- 8:09smelled the blood in my veins. Standing in front of me with his sinister
- 8:13smile and penetrating eyes. The clown was a scream of terror. He escaped
- 8:18from my lips as he receded unable to turn his gaze away from that terrifying
- 8:24being. At that moment, my mother entered the house and ran into the
- 8:28kitchen to see what was happening to me. However, when he arrived,
- 8:31the clown had vanished. I tried to explain what had happened, but my
- 8:37words seemed empty and meaningless. My mother had a long talk with me that
- 8:43day about how it was not good to invent those things and that when I
- 8:48really needed help no one would take me seriously that night while trying to fall
- 8:54asleep. After the terrifying, I meet the clown in the kitchen with a
- 8:58new chilling experience. I was about to take off in front of my eyes.
- 9:03I closed my eyelids hard, trying to block disturbing thoughts that flooded my
- 9:09mind, but I had just begun to dive into the dream world. When
- 9:15I began to feel an oppressive presence around me, as if something was lurking
- 9:20in the shadows of my room. Whispers filled the air, shaking me with
- 9:26fear under the blankets. I tried to ignore them, convincing myself that they
- 9:31were only the product of my imagination altered by fear. But then something cold
- 9:35and damp brushed my skin sending chills down my back. I opened my eyes
- 9:41cautiously, hoping to find the room submerged in quiet darkness, but what I
- 9:46saw in front of me left me breathless with a pair of bright eyes.
- 9:50They watched me from the foot of my bed. His eyes emitted a pale,
- 9:54creepy light that iced my blood. A cry of terra r got stuck
- 10:00in my throat. When the figure approached my bed, extending a hand towards
- 10:05me, I felt the cold frost of her fingers, brushing my skin,
- 10:09sending an overwhelming panic through my body. I instinctively snuck under the sheets,
- 10:16trying to get away from that evil presence, which seemed to be trying to
- 10:22cause as much fear as possible, but no matter how hard I tried to
- 10:26avoid that shadow. I could see through the sheets how it stood in front
- 10:31of me. Finally, with my heart, I tend with strength in my
- 10:35chest, I gathered the courage to scream. For help, my parents ran
- 10:41to my room, but when they lit the light, the dark figure disappeared
- 10:46again. My parents tried to comfort me once again by ensuring that everything was
- 10:52fine and that it had only been a nightmare. But in the depths of
- 10:56my being I knew that experience had been real. Even when my parents did
- 11:01not leave me, I could still feel that feeling of being stalked from the
- 11:07darkest corner of my room. The next day I decided to share what happened
- 11:13with my friends, hoping to find some comfort in their support. However,
- 11:18instead of understanding, what I received was disbelief. My friends looked at me
- 11:24with skepticism, accusing me of trying to scare them with an invented story.
- 11:30The sense of frustration took hold of me as I tried to convince them of
- 11:35the truthfulness of my words but their mocking looks and ironic laughter only increased my
- 11:41sense of isolation and despair. I felt alone against the terror that haunted me,
- 11:46facing him without the support or understanding of those around me during recess.
- 11:52As I took refuge in the bathroom, trying to escape the accusatory gazes of
- 11:58my companions, to hear the sound of the bell announcing the end of the
- 12:03recess, so hastily, I headed towards the door of the cubicle eager to
- 12:07go out to attend classes. But when I tried to open the door,
- 12:13something unexpected happened, because when I opened it a little bit, it was
- 12:16pushed back, pushing me even. I tried to open it again, but
- 12:20the door refused to yield to my efforts. Like she' s being pushed
- 12:24from the other side. I tried again, but this time the door seemed
- 12:30to be stuck, like something or someone was blocking my way out. A
- 12:35chill ran through my back when I heard the devilish laughter of the Clown,
- 12:41resounding in the small bathroom space, the sound was creepy and full of malice.
- 12:46I tried to contain the panic that threatened to consume myself, struggling to
- 12:50stay calm while searching for a way out, but every attempt to open the
- 12:56door was in vain and the laughter of the Clown intensified with mol every second
- 13:01that passed, as if he was mocking my impotence from the other side.
- 13:05Finally, with my heart beating hard in my chest, I gathered all my
- 13:11courage and struggled with the door once again. This time it came before my
- 13:15efforts, allowing me to get out of the cubicle and escape the bathroom with
- 13:20a throbbing heart and short breath. The days went by without improvement. The
- 13:26sightings were random, so I didn' t feel safe at any time I
- 13:31was in class struggling to keep the focus, while the burden of everything that
- 13:37had happened weighed on my chest. Since everything had started, the dream had
- 13:43become a luxury that was denied me and the constant feeling of being watched and
- 13:46pursued by the clown was overwhelming. As I tried to pay attention to the
- 13:54lesson, I noticed something moving with the corner of my eye. At first
- 13:58I thought it was his only imagination. Playing a bad game but when I
- 14:03turned my head to look out of the living room, I saw him the
- 14:07clown standing outside smiling and waving with a macabre gesture. I tried to get
- 14:13the attention of one of my friends to see it too. But when I
- 14:18finally got him to look out the window, the clown was no longer there.
- 14:22Again, I was left alone with my terror wondering if what I had
- 14:26just witnessed was real or just another illusion created by my mind. That same
- 14:33afternoon, while I was immersed in a hot bath, in a desperate attempt
- 14:37to relax, the fatigue accumulated by everything lived began to pass bill. My
- 14:43eyelids became heavy and the comforting heat of the water enveloped me in some sort
- 14:48of sleep. Without realizing it, I got carried away by tiredness and fell
- 14:52asleep in Latin, but my brief breath was interrupted by a sudden startle.
- 14:58When I opened my eyes and met the clown standing next to the tub,
- 15:01his cold look and his sinister smile sent me chills in the back. Before
- 15:09I could react, the clown grabbed me in the face and plunged me into
- 15:13the water. His strength was inhuman and he buried his nails in my head.
- 15:18I was desperately struggling to get out to breathe. The sound of my
- 15:22heart rumbled in my ears and the despair of my body to receive oxygen is
- 15:28something that I would not wish to feel to anyone, not even to my
- 15:31worst enemy. The clown' s demonic laughter resonated in the water, filling
- 15:37my mind with his malice and just when I felt I was about to faint,
- 15:41my mother' s voice rang from the other side of the door,
- 15:46accompanied by slight blows in it. I wondered if everything was all right,
- 15:50as I had heard the water splash too much. At that moment, the
- 15:54clown vanished. So I let go of his grip and came out panting out
- 15:58of latina. The water dripped through my trembling body as I tried to recover
- 16:04the air and with an effort to sound as normal as possible my mother lied
- 16:10when she asked me if I was okay, knowing I would never believe the
- 16:14truth if I told her. The next day, while enjoying a brief break
- 16:18playing with my friends, we found ourselves playing races on our bikes. Those
- 16:25moments of fun were a respite to my soul, an opportunity to leave behind
- 16:30for an instant the fear and paranoia that haunted me constantly. At one point,
- 16:36while we were all heading back to our homes and only my friend and
- 16:41I were on the way, I spotted the Clown across the street. He
- 16:45seemed to be there waiting patiently, as if he knew that eventually I would
- 16:51be left alone. The Clown' s vision paralysed me for an instant preventing
- 16:56me from slowing down when my friend did, resulting in a wrong deal.
- 17:00The car that was passing by at the time did not have time to react
- 17:06and hit me hard sending me to the ground after throwing me several meters.
- 17:11Everything turned black around me and I didn' t wake up until I found
- 17:15myself in the hospital, surrounded by the bright lights and the sounds of the
- 17:21machines, I learned that I had been in a coma for three days.
- 17:23My heart had even stopped for an instant because of the impact. The doctors
- 17:29told me it had been a miracle that I was still alive, that my
- 17:33body had resisted such brutal trauma and it was thanks to the rapid intervention of
- 17:37the paramedics who had brought me back to life. The next few months were
- 17:42a challenge. As he struggled to regain the mobility and strength he had lost
- 17:48in the accident. Rehabilitation was long and painful, but every step I took
- 17:52brought me a little closer to normal. But the most important thing since that
- 17:59day I was hit by the car. I never saw the Clown again.
- 18:03I don' t know why she suddenly disappeared from my life, but I
- 18:07' m grateful for it. Perhaps it was an entity that wanted to destroy
- 18:11me and when it was run over, it fulfilled its purpose, or had
- 18:17simply found another victim to torment. Regardless of reason, I know that I
- 18:22survived thanks to a miracle and that I had a second chance to face life
- 18:26bravely. And while the memories of the Clown and everything that happened will continue
- 18:32to haunt me in my nightmares, I am determined not to let fear rule
- 18:37my life. The world is a complex place, full of riddles, which
- 18:47many times the human being is not prepared to face. Or many times even
- 18:52understand that. I discovered it from a very early age, since I was
- 18:57just a child, my life was involved in many problems. My parents,
- 19:03if they could be called that, were trapped in the world of drugs and
- 19:07problems with the law. The memories I have of them are vague and distorted.
- 19:12Most of the time I remember them sick and absent from reality, unable
- 19:18to take care of themselves, much less of a child. For that reason,
- 19:22I was pulled out of his arms by the children’ s services at
- 19:26an early age. Those people came to save me from a fate that was
- 19:30already sealed, but there was no paradise waiting for me on the other side,
- 19:37for since the separation of my parents I was thrown from drowning substitute in
- 19:41substitute home passing from one strange place to another. Never staying in one place
- 19:45for more than a few months. The child service system was a nightmare in
- 19:52itself, inefficient, disorganized, more concerned with complying with formalities than with the
- 19:57real well- being of the two children who were supposedly intended to protect.
- 20:03I think that was the main reason why, despite all that I had lived,
- 20:07I still had the hope that at some point my parents would come for
- 20:11me. I had the illusion that these would go to rehab, get my
- 20:17custody back, and we' d be a family again. Although the longer
- 20:21the years passed, that illusion faded away day by day. When I was
- 20:27fourteen, I got the news of another move at that point, I was
- 20:33so used to changes that I didn' t even take the trouble to unpack
- 20:37my things. But that time something was different. This time they didn'
- 20:41t take me to another home in town. The journey was much longer.
- 20:45They took me to a farm on the outskirts, almost on the edge of
- 20:49town. Upon arrival I received an older man with the appearance of a cowboy
- 20:56hardened by time and work in the field. Next to him, he found
- 21:00another man equally rough. They exchanged a few words with the social worker,
- 21:06but I didn' t pay much attention. I was too busy watching my
- 21:10new environment. I quickly realized that there were no other children on the farm.
- 21:15In fact, there was no one else besides the two men and me.
- 21:19These presented themselves as Cristóbal and Antonio. They showed me my room.
- 21:25This was very small, but it was better than it had in other homes.
- 21:30I was also informed about the rules of the farm. The rules were
- 21:34strict and strange. I had to turn off all the lights at nine o
- 21:40' clock at night and leaving the house after ten o' clock was strictly
- 21:45forbidden, but there were two in particular, which were the most important and
- 21:48were that, under no circumstances should I leave the boundaries of the property where
- 21:55a forest was located that because I could easily lose myself. The second one
- 21:59did not have an explanation, and this was not to approach the animals once
- 22:03the sun set any of the rules. It made a lot of sense to
- 22:10me but I decided not to question them too much after all, what else
- 22:14I could do. The days became a monotonous routine. I would get up
- 22:18with the first crowing of the rooster and spend my hours doing chores on the
- 22:22farm. During the day he worked in the fields, plowing the earth and
- 22:27feeding the animals. Sometimes my caregivers gave me instructions, but most of the
- 22:33time I worked only surrounded by the silence of the farm. Despite the strangely
- 22:37normal atmosphere surrounding the farm, there were times when I felt overwhelmed as if
- 22:42I was being watched, especially when I was near the animals. That feeling
- 22:51intensified as if his eyes followed me wherever I went. However, I could
- 22:56not complain about the work on the ora farm was not very heavy and,
- 23:00compared to other temporary homes I had gone through, that was certainly the best.
- 23:08One day, while watering the sheep, I discovered that one of my
- 23:12carers had left his pack of cigarettes near the pens. Without thinking too much
- 23:18about it, I took a couple of cigarettes and hid them for later.
- 23:22During the day. I tried to find the perfect time to smoke them,
- 23:27but the fear of being discovered always stopped me. The night fell and while
- 23:33I was in my room, I decided to wait until both men were asleep
- 23:37to go out for a smoke. Outside around eleven o' clock at night,
- 23:42the house remained in complete silence, except for the snoring of men.
- 23:48I knew this was my chance. I put my shoes on and got out
- 23:52of the house. Looking at the quietness of the farm in the dark,
- 23:56I took out the cigarettes and lit one. It was something I had never
- 24:00done before and I discovered that the taste was horrible and the smoke hurt my
- 24:04throat. I decided not to even try the second cigarette and to get rid
- 24:10of the evidence, I decided to throw the cigarettes behind the house, where
- 24:15hardly anyone was going. I remember removing the ground a little with my feet
- 24:18to cover the cigars. Once hidden, I was about to go back in
- 24:23when something caught my attention one of the goats that had come out of the
- 24:27corral and stared at me. This disturbed me a little, but what came
- 24:32after left me paralyzed with fear. The goat began to stand on its hind
- 24:37legs as if it were imitating a human. I didn' t wait for
- 24:42him to stop completely. I ran back to the security of my room with
- 24:47my heart, beating hard on my chest. Once in bed I questioned what
- 24:52I had just witnessed. I thought of the most rational reason why that goat
- 24:56would behave like this, but nothing I thought was really comforting. I knew
- 25:03I couldn' t tell my caregivers what had happened. Otherwise, they would
- 25:07discover that I had broken one of the rules, with more questions than answers,
- 25:14hovering around my mind. Finally I fell asleep, but my dreams were
- 25:18filled with disturbing images of the goat standing on its hind legs with eyes fixed
- 25:23on me The next day, the morning passed normally full of the usual tasks
- 25:30at the Farm. The routine had made me avoid thinking about what happened the
- 25:36night before. As I put food on the sheep, I felt the temperature
- 25:41drop suddenly as if the air had become more. A cold, dense feeling
- 25:47that something was watching me took hold of me, but I tried to ignore
- 25:51it and finish my homework as quickly as possible so I could get away from
- 25:55it. However, as I was rushing my human name whispered, my heart
- 26:00rolled over my chest and a chill ran through my back. I wanted to
- 26:07run away at the same time, but before I could move I heard my
- 26:11name again. This time with more strength and urgency. My curiosity overcame my
- 26:18fear and I turned my head to find who was calling me. Then I
- 26:22realized that all the animals on the farm stared at me with a penetrating look
- 26:26that seemed to see through me did not know who or what was behind all
- 26:32this, but the feeling of being observed intensified to become an unbearable pressure that
- 26:37oppressed my chest. My eyes fell on one of the pigs. At the
- 26:44end of the pens, that pig looked at me even more intensely than the
- 26:48other animals and before he could know what to do, the pig began to
- 26:53whip against the bars of his pen. All that while staring me in the
- 26:57eye. It was ra ra ra ra ra ors as if it tried to
- 27:03reach me no matter how much damage was done in trying. The noise alerted
- 27:07Antonio, who went to see what was happening. The pig stopped. It
- 27:11was as if he returned to himself, he was so hurt that he began
- 27:17to scream because of his serious wounds. I don' t think I'
- 27:21ve ever heard any animals scream like that. It' s something I certainly
- 27:25don' t want to hear from anyone. Antonio asked me what had happened.
- 27:30However, I did not know what to answer him and I only told
- 27:33him that I had begun to act that way. Suddenly, without telling me
- 27:37anything else, he ordered me to go feed the dogs and then help Cristóbal
- 27:41prepare dinner. I didn' t protest at all. I was just relieved
- 27:47to stop listening to those agonizing screams. That night, when I finally took
- 27:53refuge in the security of my room, I tried to put my thoughts in
- 27:57order, but the image of the yearnings staring at me and the whispering voice
- 28:03calling me, they kept chasing me in my memories. While I was sitting
- 28:07in my bed, trying to sort out my thoughts and calm down after the
- 28:12terrifying experience, something caught my attention from the outside a slight barely perceptible noise,
- 28:19but enough to make my heart speed up again. With the latent fear,
- 28:26I got up from where I was and approached the window cautiously. As
- 28:30I looked out, I found a vision that frozen the blood in my veins.
- 28:34The goat, the same one who had seen her rise on her hind
- 28:40legs the night before, was outside right in front of the house. What
- 28:45made me breathless was that the goat was not only standing up again, but
- 28:49was also looking directly into my eyes. His gaze was intense, penetrating,
- 28:56as if he could see through my soul. For a moment I was paralyzed,
- 29:00unable to turn my gaze away from the goat' s eyes. I
- 29:06felt as if I was being dragged by an invisible force, as if the
- 29:11goat were exerting some kind of influence on me. But just when I thought
- 29:15I couldn' t stand it anymore, the goat turned around and walked straight
- 29:19into the forest, disappearing into the darkness of the night a sigh of relief
- 29:25escaped from my lips as I receded from the window, feeling the tension leaving
- 29:30my body. Little by little after the disturbing encounter with the goat, I
- 29:36was even more tense and alert during my daily tasks at the Farm. One
- 29:41afternoon I was performing one of the tasks I liked the most, which was
- 29:45to brush the horses in the stable. I wanted to concentrate on the task
- 29:49in question, hoping that familiarity and routine could calm me from the paranoia that
- 29:56was chasing me. However, the au a l a n or the stable
- 30:00seemed tense as if the same air was charged with electricity. The horses,
- 30:06usually calm and docile, seemed restless, moving nervously as I brushed him I
- 30:11tried to ignore that feeling of discomfort by telling myself that it was just my
- 30:18imagination. But then, while brushing one of the horses, I felt a
- 30:22strange pressure on my back, like someone or something was behind me. I
- 30:27turned quickly, but saw nothing but the shadows on the walls of the stable
- 30:33illuminated by light. Tenue of the lamps I tried to shake the feeling that
- 30:40something was not right and I concentrated again on the horse in front of me,
- 30:44but then I heard a soft whisper behind my back, as if someone
- 30:48was speaking, although what I was saying seemed indecipherable. A chill swept through
- 30:53my body as I stood still, without daring to move or look back.
- 31:00The whisper continued to grow stronger and more insistent. Finally, I gathered the
- 31:07courage to turn around slowly hoping to face whatever was behind me, but when
- 31:12I did, I found a scene that left me breathless. The horses,
- 31:19they were all staring at me with eyes that seemed to shine with a supernatural
- 31:26light, they were red as they came out of hell and they had a
- 31:30smile on their face, something that scared me too much and a scream escaped
- 31:34from my lips. As I receded unable to withstand the intensity of those penetrating
- 31:41glances and the sense of imminent danger that accompanied them, I ran out of
- 31:45the stable, leaving the horses behind and their disturbing presence. After that day
- 31:51in the stable, I did my best to avoid being alone on the farm.
- 31:56However, it was a complicated task, as you look at me,
- 32:00my caregivers had their own occupations and did not always need me to be close.
- 32:05Moreover, I could not give a reasonable explanation for my aversion to being
- 32:09alone, which left me in an uncomfortable position. Luckily, the arrival of
- 32:15the corn harvest season brought with it a welcome distraction. My tasks focused on
- 32:21helping with the harvest, which kept me busy for most of the day.
- 32:27At night I made sure to close my window well and avoid my giving out
- 32:30under any circumstances. I thought as long as I was away from the animals,
- 32:39everything would be fine the days passed. Every day I doubted my sanity
- 32:43more and more. Animals always seemed to wait for the moment when I was
- 32:47left alone to begin to behave as frighteningly as possible. All that, not
- 32:52to mention the whispers and the demonic laughter in which my name murmured, especially
- 32:59at night. All that had made me think of escaping. I didn'
- 33:04t care where, I hadn' t even thought about it. Well,
- 33:07I just wanted to escape that hell. That day I was moving the alfalfa.
- 33:13That work had become my favorite activity, as it was one of the
- 33:17few activities in which it did not include being close to animals. I was
- 33:22in the middle when I heard a voice calling me by my name However,
- 33:29that was not any voice. I immediately recognized that it was my father'
- 33:32s voice. I turned my head and then I saw it was. My
- 33:37father looked much better in terms of health. There was a smile on his
- 33:40face, which I can' t say was a normal smile. However,
- 33:45that was not something I was interested in noticing at the time. I was
- 33:51just thinking that my fantasy had come true. My father had gone after me
- 33:54and would surely take me home to my mother. Away from that nightmare farm.
- 34:00This one told me to follow him, which I did not hesitate to
- 34:04do for a second, but I stopped to see how my father did not
- 34:07go towards the house of Cristóbal and Antonio. More like it was going in
- 34:13the opposite direction. While I was following him I would question him where we
- 34:15were going or if we shouldn' t go for my things and so say
- 34:19goodbye. However, my father did not respond, just kept walking. At
- 34:24one point something inside of me told me to stop, but my desire to
- 34:29be with my father and get out of there overcame any thought and continue to
- 34:34follow him. I could see my father jumping to the edge of the farm.
- 34:39That' s when I noticed we were a few meters from the forest.
- 34:44That made me stop. Just a few steps behind the fence. My
- 34:47father called me back asking me to go with him, since he had something
- 34:52to show me. I still don' t know why, but I was
- 34:57about to jump it close when I was pulled out of the t- shirt
- 35:00by Cristóbal, who upset me about what I was doing. I turned my
- 35:06head pointing to the forest to explain that my father was there, but when
- 35:09I turned this plain it was there it was simply gone. I couldn'
- 35:15t find an explanation for that, so I couldn' t say what I
- 35:20was doing and even if I did, Cristóbal was too upset to listen to
- 35:25me. As we walked back, I took one last look behind me,
- 35:30just to see how, behind the trees, there was a demonic being,
- 35:36which his gaze reflected a total outing. By failing to fulfill his goal of
- 35:42getting me into the forest, that left me confused and unable to sleep.
- 35:45That night I could only think of what would have happened to me from entering
- 35:50the forest. The next day, while ploughing the land with Cristóbal, he
- 35:55had to enter the house for a moment. Leaving myself alone in the countryside,
- 36:00I tried to keep up the composure, reminding myself that we were very
- 36:05close to the house and that all the times I had experienced those terrifying experiences
- 36:12had been when I was away from any witness. As I continued my work,
- 36:16I began to hear what they called me by my name. The voice
- 36:20was not one I recognized, so I decided to ignore it and continue my
- 36:24work praying that Cristóbal would hurry and return soon, but no matter how much
- 36:30he tried to ignore it, the voice persisted and soon some agonic squeals of
- 36:36one of the dogs became present. That made me turn right away, and
- 36:39what I saw burned my blood. I could see very close to me one
- 36:44of the dogs, only this time it was not on two legs or anything
- 36:47like it, but it twisted on the ground in a grotesque way, as
- 36:52if each of its bones were disarticulated. I squealed with pain, pierced my
- 36:59ears, and prayed to me with anguish. I didn' t know what
- 37:02to do and I felt paralyzed by fear and confusion. Suddenly, a loud
- 37:07roar echoed in the air. It was a shot fired by Cristóbal, who
- 37:13was quickly approaching where I was. When he heard the shot, the dog
- 37:17stopped twisting, but it was clear that he had suffered serious injuries. Christopher
- 37:22fired once again this time to put an end to the animal' s suffering.
- 37:28Without even asking what had happened. Cristóbal questioned me directly about why I
- 37:34had left the house during the night. I couldn' t hide it anymore
- 37:37and told him everything, including every one of my terrifying experiences on the farm.
- 37:44After listening to me, Cristóbal explained to me that there was a reason
- 37:49why no one left home after ten o' clock at night. He told
- 37:52me they didn' t know how long that thing had been on the farm,
- 37:58but they think that even long before it was even a farm, that
- 38:01entity was as old as time itself. She used to possess animals, just
- 38:07like anything to feed herself on the fear and despair of anyone who saw her,
- 38:13she confessed to me that the reason why they hadn' t told me
- 38:16before was because they didn' t know if I would stay on the farm
- 38:21for a long time, because they didn' t know if I would adapt
- 38:24well to that life, but that it was time for me to know.
- 38:27From that day on, I lived in constant vigilance and caution, always aware
- 38:32of the danger lurking in the shadows of the farm. I lived on that
- 38:37farm until I was an adult and, despite now having a couple and children
- 38:42on a return, from time to time to visit Cristóbal and Antonio, remembering
- 38:45the supernatural experiences that lived there and grateful for having survived to tell the story.
